edition of the World Dely Podcast. A Sunday show compared
to our normal Monday shows, and I am your host,
Dylan Abert with me as always my co host tacting
partner Jordan Johnson. Jordan, what is going on and how
you doing today?

So yep, as announced as announced last Monday, Yes, you
are at in the same house as I am. But
for a show as big as we normally do, this
is one of our biggest shows of a year, compared
to our end of year awards that will be airing
at the end of the year. We can't come home
for this one. We can't just do it just me

and you, Jordan. I mean, we got to bring on
some people, and I feel like we're bringing on some
of the very best, some that have not been on
our show in quite some time, so we are excited
to have them back on the show. First of all,

with the first one and that is the best male
Superstar so far. And this is ranging from January first
to right now. So as we're gonna do it, we're
gonna do Blaine Bakley, Jordan and I'll close out with
our picks. So Blaine, who is your male Superstar of
the Year thus far?

Man, it was a tough decision, but man, I think
I gotta go with jay Us from w W. I
just he just been white hot since the beginning of
the year with the rumbo going into what was that
elimination chamber or stuff like that. He just I know
you dropped a belt last week or so, but it
just I don't think that wild stop from Rustle now,

So I just go with Jus.

I'm gonna go with the raiding defending NXC champion of
a Femily you said, because it's been January he won
the belt, he's been kicking butt since then. It seems
like no one's gonna beat him, and he's just been
on a tari lately.

So it looks like me and Jordan are going with
the same ones, because I got John Cena as well.
And you know, he came back at the room, had
his last Rumble match, and I thought he was gonna
put himself over right there, you know, But losing to
j U So and seeing the IWC going to a
major frenzy turning on ju So, the unnecessary hate that
jau So got after the rumble was over, saying Sena

should have been it or seeing him punk or or
something like that. And then and then the major hill
turn it happened at the Chamber, which the rock was
not needed for being that the interview with Paton McAfee
saying that it was mainly just a boost ticket sales
while he was there, and then the He'll run wasn't

that great up until the pipe bond that happened on
SmackDown and then would happened at Night of Champions. I
thought the He'll Run maybe is getting a little bit better,
but I don't and I and for what I'm still
gonna say right now that I don't see him being
a heel the entire run. I think you want to
close out your professional wrestling career as you've been the

entire time and has a face. So I think the
He'll run maybe is going to come to an end
at some point. But he is doing fantastic work right
now John Cena, even for his age and for his
last round. So yeah, John Cena for me is the
male superstar of the year so far. So now we
get to the best debut, and this could be someone

debuting from another promotion there for the first time. It
could be someone on their first match with whatever their
promotion they're with or anything. So Blaine, who you got man?

Uh? Debut? I gotta go with Pencer when he when
he debuted.

In UW the Raw on Netflix. I think that was
that was a cool experience with him.

I just played It was on Netflix the second show.
I believe just the way he came out, he had
his family there, the crowd bought into it.

Penta as well. You know, the worst kept secret in
in w w E in my opinion, they even announced
the merchandise and before he was even set to up
here on Raw, so I mean everyone knew it was
coming w wand to capitalize on the merchandise sales and whatnot.
So yeah, Panta for me is the best debut. There

wasn't that many big debuts in WU or a W
or anywhere. I mean you can think Ricky Sayt, so
you can think Blake Monroe that just happened. But Pansa,
I mean the buzz around him was it was fantastic.
So yeah, I gotta go with Penta. So now we
swing over to one. I think we may have, you know,

probably all different answers for this one. There's a lot
of good ones that happened this year, and that is
the best match of twenty twenty five so far. Blayting

Oh shoot, I think I'll have to go with the

Russell Mania. That would be my my fake.

I got Anny Omega and Gabe Kid at Russell Dynasty
right off the first week in January Maga's first match back.
He got Gabe Kid, who was supposed to be the heel,
but he was the one to getting all the all
the fans cheering for him and they had a crazy
just wonder for.

Match that all right, Who you got Jordan, We'll try
not to miss this one up. Uh got? I got
Roman Reigns and see him Punk and seth orwlands out WrestleMania.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Yeah yeah, I kind of felt we're gonna have all
different answers because from someone like me who does not
talk good about AEW at all, I'm like one of
the biggest AW haters when it comes to podcasters or wrestling.
I did go with an AEW match, and I went
with Will Osprey and Kyle Fletcher from Revolution that's still

cage match. The storytelling was really good, you know, being
in in there the big Faction together with Mark Davis,
even having Mark Davis appear at at the match as well,
and then they and then the end of it was
really good too, you know the way they finished it, man,
it was. It was such good storytelling. And and they
even had another good still cage match on on on

(10:42):
Raw with punkin Rollins as well, So I mean, you
could even compare it to being really good, but the
storytelling behind Fletcher and Osprey was just far too good
to to not pick it in my opinion, because that's
also one thing I look forward to as well for
for a match is a storytelling and and that was
really good. But I getting to the best champion this. Honestly,

this has not been the year of the champion as
far as as booking for W or or keeping your
main one in a fucking briefcase in ae W or
anything like that. So all right, Blaine, who's the best
champion so far this year?

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Like you said, there's not that many good champions.

But if I had to pick one, I think I'll
just go with with Sea the Hill last run this
he'll run.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
I think, in my opinion, that's the best champion right now.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Yeah, And honestly, picking Scena, that's I mean, that's a
reach right there, because there's not been good champions. That's
that's a sad part. There's not been good champions. And
usually you know, we have a champion that's that's continuing
to run their promotion that has been good booking and whatnot,
And sadly this has not been the year so far unfortunately.

I went with, But I went with perk Get in
February's he had seven title defenses up until this morning
when he dropped it to Zach Sieber Junior. And he's
just killed it for five months. It's just like you said,
there has been a lot of guys that have kind
of held on to the belt that long said him

were the longest screaming people with the quartitles.

Who you got Jordan, I got it, Johnsina, And here's
me going with another ae W. I'm going Tony Storm.
I think the character wise she has been great. I mean,
and like I said, this has not been a big
year of champions, And I mean other than her and

Mariah May, I mean, I really can't think of anyone
that's really held the title too much other than them too.
And as Tony has been holding it well, unfortunately, I
think it may come to an end at all, in
being that Mercedes Hogan is booking her own wins and
and uh she'll take it off for her. But no,
I mean, she's been a great champion for sure. So

Now we get to the best pay per view or
p l E. So they had to include a pl
part because people get confused with with it. But oh

I like the elimination Chamber of Toronto that was that
was one of my good ones. Uh, and I think
John Cena Hill turn that day kind of like saved it.

Ste standing in the liver. I was a weird throat
about Menia. Well the night one I was too not
so much, and I got next saved the weekend front.

I got a Russell Maania forty one.

Night one, just night one, because Night two, the end
of it was awful.

Yeah, the unnecessary Travis Scott appearance and all that's no
need for that. All right, So I'm going back to
back to back on AW and I'm going with AW Revolution. Uh.
The cage match I think was easily the best from
that show, but I mean, so many others on that

(14:37):
card was really good. And honestly, I could have gone
from from Revolution to double or nothing or something like that.
But honestly, I don't think w has really put on
like a a mind blowing show this year. You know,
Night of Champions was good and it wasn't It wasn't
fantastic by any means. WrestleMania Night one and two. I

(14:59):
think the crowd really impacted how and how the show was.
There were a few pops here and there, when Don
won the title, when Joe Hendry appeared, uh, the end
of Night one with the double turn from Hayman, But
nothing mind blowing really came from WrestleMania this year. Unfortunately.
The heel turn, like Blaine was saying, was it really

(15:20):
saved the show for Elemis Chamber, But nothing crazy good
happened from there this year, and it's I'm hoping that
something bigger and better comes from like Summer Slam and
Evolution and Survivor Series and so on, so maybe we'll
actually get something. Yeah, Revolution was a really good show.
I haven't paid for an away per view this year,

(15:40):
so I've been I speak too much. The FBI is
gonna show up on my door at some point five
if I keep talking about it. So we'll move on. Uh,
it's the best rivalry. It's been some good rivalries this year,
but there's got to be one that sticks out for
all of y'all. So who you got blame?

Speaker 5 (15:58):
The Three Way Punk Roman Range. I like that rivalry Cominade.

Speaker 6 (16:03):
And the you know, the the back saving in uh Mania,
So that was my favorite river.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
And so let me ask you before that even happened
before that triple threat happened. Did you predict what actually
happened at the end that Rollins was going to walk
out with Hayman.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
No, because I think I actually I think I talked
to you that now and he was telling me that.
He was telling me that might happen. I'm like, I
don't know, and then all of a sudden it happened.
I did not predict that.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yes, yeah, it's it's just a way that it's the
vibe I was getting from it because he's going back
and forth. He's going to Roman, He's going to Punk,
He's going to Roman Punk. And I'm like, I'm like,
what if he's doing all this just to walk out
with Rollins in the same night he's walking out with Punk,
but he's gonna walk out of the building with Seth Rollins.
I'm like, man, that's got That's something they gotta do

at the end of Night One. I mean, they gotta
save Night one. Night One, in my opinion was it
was all right. It wasn't the best, but but I mean,
that's that a way to save it. Man, that was
a really really good end. Sue at Night one, Baker,
who you got for best rivalry that.

One, but another one still with the other one page
in sceints okay, and that's still going right now. Just yeah,
Punk and Ros and I feel like it's getting better
now because of the way they're going with it.

Because I'm going Tony Storm and Mariah May Uh, they
only had I mean really since the year start, I
think they had only two matches. They had the Grand
Slam Australia on and then they had their last, their
final final match on it with that that capture you
have at the end where their boat laying on like

stage like after the match was over, and that was
basically you know, Mariah May's exit from Maye w Anyways,
I think I think it was was it revolution? Was
that match?

Was that too?

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Yeah? All right? So yeah, I mean, I mean really
the rivalry between them was really good. I mean even
started last year, you know, Mariah May basically came in
as as Tony's little protege, you know, someone who looked
up to Tony a bunch, And I'm like, man, this
has to end with Mariah turning on Tony and Tony

(18:51):
turning on Mariah. And the way Mariah did it, you know,
winning that it was like that owen Hart cup and
then she and then she hit her with that bell,
and I'm like, oh man, this is just the perfect
way to do it, and had a rivalry between them two,
and I wish it would have lasted longer, a little longer,
but yeah, I mean, it was really good to start
the year off to have those two good matches and

(19:13):
basically was Mariah's exit from from ADW And we're still
yet to see any action out of her NXT, but
I think I think her working with that division, which
in my opinion, is one of the better divisions in
professional wrestling right now in NXT, I think she's gonna
do good over there, because I feel like they're calling

up too many people too fast from NXT. I think
me and you Baicley talked about it a little bit.
I think you comment on our show whenever Jordan and
I were talking about where Mariah could land, and I
was thinking, you know, maybe coming to the main roster
right away. But being the fact they called up Stephan
the already called Julia called rock Sanda. I mean, I mean, yeah,
it was a no brainer to put her on.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
But then I think they held her back because of
all the moves that they've made.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
And really I don't I don't mean to get off
topic with anything about Miriami or anything like that, but
but what do you make of the name change. I
know to IWC lost their absolute minds about it, but
they don't know the story behind it. With the name Blake,
I mean, that's that's her, her niece's name.

I like the like the name. I just don't like
the gimmick it's all it's It just reminds me too
much of Bewitched the way that you're doing it. I'm like,
she's got to be herself. She doesn't need to have
that weird gimmick attached to it. But I like the
name's fine.

Yeah, don't ask me how I noticed, but it seems
like that's how they're dealing with that. That artist, Sabrina Carpenter,
that's they showed I got outside by side stuff about
about when she debuted. I said, don't ask me how
I noticed, because I'm not. I'm not a fan by
any means. But uh, Blaine, what you thought about the
name change from Mariah Made to Blake Monroe. I mean,
I it's it's not like they even try to keep

it close. I mean, yeah, I did.

I didn't get it until I read read something a
while afterwards that it was about her niece or whatever.
But when I initially heard it, I never knew anything

watching tag team wrestling and has not been exciting so

Street Profits, I like once he made that, he'll turn.
I just I just like everything about it. I think
my tess Ford is a better heel than he is

I think you really could have gone anyone else. SmackDown,

because SmackDown has a really good tag division. I mean, man,
it's it's out of this world. I mean you got
d I Y and motor sitting machine guns there, you
got street profits. Uh, the Wyatt six are in there now.
I mean, uh, I think I pretty much do a
free bird role while they're there, you know, with Gaycy
and Loomis, Loomis and rowand if Howdie wants to compete

there as well. I mean, it's it's a four man
show there. I mean there's titles them too. I mean
a SmackDown is where you want to go for a
tag team right now, because their division is absolutely fantastic
right now. But Fraxium, I think, I mean just the
impact they've made an NXT you know, being you know,

tax champs for such a long time and got got
a bit of criticism of who they lost it to.
With Hank and Tank. I really I really didn't know
too much about him, kind of not a big NX tvwer.
But they kind of remind me of Public Enemy and.

That's that's what they reminded me of. Hank in Tank. Uh,
just from the way they dressed and whatnot. But yeah,
I mean, phraxium is just a great addition too to
attack team division in W and on SmackDown. So we

The year there's been a lot of good ones, and
I mean you could even go from where I was,
you know, bunched on this a W A few there
n X t W. I mean, I mean wherever. I mean, So,

came with her because once she does the Devil's Kiss,
you know, having him on on on the commentary is

it's just pure sentiment to me, but the crowd adding
on to it is really good as well. But Jordan

superstar that is most likely to break out in twenty

them will be uh some breakouts superstars for the rest
of the twenty twenty.

the next t and you like Javon Evans with I'm
going with TNA's version of him, same age, same skills,

year and that sucks because I think he's really talented

feel like that plays a part of it. Yeah.
