Two ideas in particular can help us as followers of Jesus to evaluate the language of the culture we live in and the times we live in. These two ideas are Structure and Direction.
There are many structures but only two directions.
Western culture especially since the Enlightenment in the early 18th century, has progressively and aggressively dismantled the Creational Structures that God built into creation and therefore has been moving intentionally in a direction AWAY from God. Human beings, individually are either oriented TOWARD God or AWAY from God.
Every ideology that I discuss here is fundamentally oriented AWAY from God. As Alexander Solzheniitzhen said 'We have forgotten God, that is why all this has happened to us'.
