lupus awareness. You can find my books on Amazon dot

(00:25):
on most social media platforms, including x dot com The
Christy Books. Tonight, I'm joined by a wonderful friend and guest.
His name is Nino Dpietro. I never say last aims right,
ladies and gentlemen. Nino, how are you.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
No, I'm doing pretty good.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
You know, I'm pretty excited about this podcast today. You know,
something that I've been wanting to do for a very
long time, and you know, just thank you for having
me on.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
You're quite welcome, and you know what, Nino, Before we
actually get into your interview, why don't you go ahead
and introduce yourself a little bit more to our audience.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Well, I'm fifty five years old. I'm married at this moment.
I've been with my wife for the past eight years,
married and together for the last fifteen. But also i'm
a health and wellness life coach, something that I'm really
been dedicating myself for the past six months, but it's

(01:21):
something that I've been wanting to do for the past
three to four years.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Wow, congratulations on that. How did you get started? How
did this become something you started to do well?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Pretty much during the beginning of COVID, I always worked
in the corporate world and it was very demanding, and
I didn't take my health seriously and I ballooned to
two hundred and twenty five pounds, and even though I
had dreams and aspirations, I didn't have the energy, Like

(01:57):
life got the best of me. So making those changes
during COVID, I was able to create these healthy habits.
But then once again, it wasn't sustained and I ended
up gaining the weight back and doing that, I wasn't

(02:17):
able to, you know, handle certain situations because of my health,
you know, like I said, you know, I just wouldn't
be able to do the things that I wanted to.
I was so tired at the end of the day.
Literally I had no energy to do anything.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Absolutely as a loopus patient, I go through all of that.
My health has actually caused me to let go of
some of my other careers before I moved into writing,
I was a state preschool teacher for a long time,
very long time, and when I got sick, I couldn't
keep up with four and five year old children all
day long.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
I just couldn't do it.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Then I moved into a home health aid at a
nursing facility for senior citizens, and that really took a
toll on my body. So I'm really curious here on
how exactly you got started. I know you said keeping
up with your day to day.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Job was difficult.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
What drew you in to becoming a Like what clicked
in your head saying I'm going to be a life coach? Like?

Speaker 4 (03:20):
What happened there? Tell us?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
It was meaning people like you through social media because
during you know, toys tail end of COVID, there was
a lot of political news, you know, things that were
happening on social media but also mainstream and it wasn't
benefiting me, you know, physically and even like mentally. So

(03:44):
I think it was towards December or November of twenty
twenty one is where I got onto Twitter and I
ended up finding these called spaces, and through those spaces,
I've been able to find genuine people like yourself, and
what started happening. I started building my self confidence because

(04:06):
I kind of was part of a community and I
was able to spend the time with people that were
genuine people that wanted to support others when it came
to community base and through that, I started feeling better
about myself and I noticed that every aspect of my
life was getting better.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
So it was really through social.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Media that I was able to connect with people, not
that they were exactly like me, but that they were
looking for something better, something that was different than what
they were accustomed to.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Absolutely, I have to say I met a lot of
wonderful people, such as yourself and a lot of our
good friends through Twitter, Spaces and other social media. I
want to ask you what were some of the steps.
I know you've lost quite a bit of weight, I think,
is that part of your wellness in life coaching?

Speaker 4 (04:59):
And tell us how you did it? Like, what did
you do well?

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I mean it was really just utilizing different platforms YouTube videos,
but then also motivational speakers. Tony Robbins. He's one that
I've been listening to for the past years, so I've
learned a lot through his videos. On YouTube, but I
wanted to incorporate some of those teachings into my daily life.

(05:28):
But what I ended up doing was just chipping away
that one percent every day, because when I first started
my journey, it was like, you know, it was like chaos.
And in the past, I've always thought that I needed
to change everything all at once, and.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
That never worked for me.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
So it was more of making these little changes, like
waking up fifteen minutes earlier, where I found that I
had more time for myself, and just waking up with gratitude,
eating a little bit better, and just making these these
little workouts. Literally, that's all I did was wake up
fifteen minutes earlier, et protein and I just started feeling

(06:08):
good about myself.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Right. The energy level was going up.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
And what I wanted to create was like these healthy
habits because obviously you don't just do it one time, right,
It's not a one and done. It was more about
that consistency, creating something that was sustainable, and that's what
I did. It's like, let me get control of fifteen
minutes in the morning and then I can get prepared

(06:33):
for the rest of my day. And then after like
three to four weeks, I noticed a twenty percent change
in the way I felt about myself, how I went
to work, you know, connecting with people, and I just
started feeling better about myself the more energy I had.
And then I started looking into like what better foods, right,

(06:57):
high protein foods, and then drink like coconut water and
pretty much just taking away sugar out of my diet
and then incorporating those little workouts. After three months, I
noticed that I ended up losing like around forty pounds,
and then I was just stuck there for a little while,

(07:19):
and then I actually ended up gaining it back because
I ended up getting out of my old you know,
going back to my old habits again. But then you know,
I made these other changes.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
I think you're doing absolutely wonderful. I want to back
up the train a little bit here. When I first
met you, you were into spaces, and then all of
a sudden, you were doing these spaces called power of Positivity.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Tell us a little bit about that.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
What is that?

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Well, the power positivity was really created when I first
got onto Twitter, because I noticed there was a lot
of negativity and I didn't find any spaces that were
you know about empowerment, self confidence, or positivity, and I
was like, well, maybe that's that's my calling. Maybe I'm

(08:10):
the one that has to do these spaces right. So
it was pretty much just creating a space that people
can come in there and maybe just get inspired. So
when I started my journey about getting healthier, that people
would come in there and they told me that they
would get inspired by some of the topics that we
would talk about, because it was mostly about community base

(08:33):
and just supporting each other and just you know, especially
when it comes to men, where we can open up
a little bit and just be ourselves and not feel judged.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
So my space is when.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
It came to the Power Positivity that I wanted to
create a safe space, but then also that we're able
to talk about topics that people were going through and
then we're just supporting each other. So yeah, that was
created about three three and a half years ago.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Congratulations on that, because I personally have watched that space
grow quite a bit in that three years, and it
takes a lot to keep up with that. So I
commend you for keeping up and being consistent because being
consistent is key.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
In our field.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Now from the Power of Positivity, you based it a
lot on men like men's mental health.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Why was that so important to you?

Speaker 1 (09:29):
I mean, women have their mental health spaces, but you
hardly ever see them men with mental health spaces.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
But I saw it with yours. Why was that an
important topic for you.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
I'm going to try not to get emotional. Sure, my
dad passed away thirteen years ago from a stroke, and
it really hit my family really hard. And as the
years went on, you know, I was trying to deal
with those emotion of losing my father because he wasn't

(10:02):
just my father, he was my best friend. He was
someone day we would go fishing together. We ended up
buying cottages together, so we spent a lot of time together. Well,
the number twenty two shows up a lot in my life.
He ended up passing away January twenty second of twenty
twelve and February twenty second of twenty twenty two. Once again,

(10:29):
that number two two two. My mom ended up giving
me a notebook that my dad would write all these things,
you know, like phone numbers, websites, And so I took
that book home and I was going through the pages,
and on the very end of that page there was,

(10:50):
like the last page, there was a word there mental
with a phone number, and I actually believed that my
dad might have been struggling with something, but they're narration
wasn't to ask for help. But when I saw that,
it felt like my dad was talking to me. And
then what I ended up doing with that page is
adding names in there, people that I connected with, and

(11:14):
I wanted to show my father that he was not alone.
So to me, it's like like he's living through me,
and I just wanted him to know that I'm here
for him, and even though he's not here physically, he
lives within me. So everything that I'm doing is just
to show people, especially meant, that it's okay to ask
for help.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Absolutely, that number twenty two that comes up in my
life too. My dad passed away August twenty two of
twenty eleven, so the number twenty two has come up there,
and a lot of other things with the number twenty
two comes in my life too.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
And if you're a spiritual.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Person like I am, in some ways, twenty two is
used to be assigned from the angels.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
I think it's a.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Symbolic number there. We'll have to get into that on
another subject on another day. But Nino, you're doing very
well and recently you had started the whole life coach
and wellness. How are you building You're building an empire here?
How are you doing this? What are you doing to
get out there?

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Well?

Speaker 3 (12:17):
I mean before, like where I've gotten to at this
point right here really started August of last year where
I ended up working at a wellness center and when
it comes to redline therapy, infrared sawn, a whole body
cryo and compression.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Through that where I work.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
At that wellness center, I started doing those services and
I just started feeling better. And through that process that
I was connecting with other people were into like the
wellness too, and through those relationships, people were telling me, Nino,
I think that you would be an excellent life coach.

(13:01):
But also with the wellness and literally the past six months,
I've been able to create a program where it's everything
that I've learned, you know, once again waking up early,
but then also preparation the night before and then you know,
drinking certain things and eating the right foods, working out.

(13:23):
So everything that I've done has put me in this
position right now. And through social media, especially through Facebook,
where my family and friends they've seen the progress that
I've had in the last three to four months, where
now when they see me, they're like, what did you do?
I want to be where like where you are, and

(13:44):
what I told Christy, I don't want people to be
like me because I believe right now where I am
in my life, it's the best version of myself, and
I want others to be the best version of themselves.
And I tell them if you need help, you need
some directions, you know, just hit me up in the DMS,

(14:04):
you know. So to me, this is my calling, my purpose,
this is why I do the work that I do.
It's when no one is around. This is something that
I believe in and.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
I can tell you're very passionate about it. You have
a passion in your voice when you're talking about it,
and your face becomes all a glow. I do want
to ask you there are some people out here in
our audience that may not know what red light therapy
is or what cryo is. Explain to us first, what
red light therapy is.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
What is that?

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Well, red light therapy it's really a red light therapy
going into your cells. It goes in about two to
three inches into your body, even in your brain and Obviously,
when your cells.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
Are better, your body's going to do better.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
But there's also different protocols that you can do the
red light you can switch it over to like pain
and inflammation. I typically see four different types of people
that use the red light therapy. It could be for
pain and inflammation. It could also be boosting your energy,
but then also better sleep quality and then also mental clarity.

(15:14):
So these are things that when people come in and
they tell me what are some of their issues that
they're dealing with, that I can put protocols in the
red light. It's not something that happens right away. It's
not a one and done. It's something that needs to
be put inside your body two to three times a
week because you want to make sure you want to

(15:34):
be consistent with that red light therapy, and then also
with the red light therapy, also using sunlight.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
I also do grounding. Even my mom in.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
The last two to three months has lost over twenty
three twenty four pounds, where now she doesn't even have
chronic knee pain because she's utilizing the vitamin D from
the sun. She'll sit out there for fifteen minutes and
then we go into the red light therapy. So it's
being optimal to the best cabilities of just overall health.

(16:11):
So yeah, red light therapy is for a lot of
different issues that can be utilized.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Now, when somebody goes in for red light therapy, are
they getting injected with something?

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Are you strapping a belt on them? Explain that.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
Well, it's almost like a tanning bed, and I do
post some of those pictures on social media, but yeah,
it's pretty much like a tanning bed that you would
hit a button and then we would start the machine
and you would go in there and then it's a
capsule that you close over and you're in there for

(16:45):
about twelve minutes. And yeah, so after that twelve minutes.
One of the protocols that I like, there's two of them,
is the muscle and blood circulation because it's really it
helps with the blood circulation goes, blood goes through all
your major organs, it's all over your body. And then
also cellular vitality because obviously when your cells are good,

(17:09):
your body's going to do better.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
So that's red light.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
And then we also have the infrared sauna where it
helps you detoxify and then also promote you know, like
weight loss. So we have different colors that can put
you in different moods. That's going to help you with
boost of energy or maybe helping with your nervous system,
and then also pain and inflammation. So these are things

(17:35):
that literally will help you where you can get back
to where you were when you were healthy.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
They sound wonderful.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
I know. I've checked into it, and I'm really thinking
about finding somewhere here in my home state that I
can go do these things for my loopus and for
weight loss. I am very into wanting to lose some
of the weight I've gained over the years. Now, Nino,
I know you have a specific routine a day that
you do. Tell it, like, walk us through your typical

(18:06):
day when you wake up till the time you go
to bed. Because these are the things that have helped you,
number one, lose weight and have a better mental health state.
I guess you can say, tell us what you do
throughout the day.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Well, well, here's the thing, right, there are so many
things in our lives that we can't control, right, what
people say or you know, things that happen when it
comes to life challenges. But here's the thing. I get
to eat the food that I want. I get to
drink what I want, I get to exercise when I want,

(18:41):
I get to prepare. So that's the thing that really
changed my life is that I was doing things that
I was able to control. So that's why I created
these routines because once again, there's so many things in
our lives that we don't have control over, but we
can control the things that we put in our bodies.

(19:02):
And it really starts the night before. So what I'll
do is I'll create a schedule during the week, and
then the night before, depending my activities, is what I'm
gonna prepare to eat for that day. It's even the clothing,
so when I wake up in the morning, I already
know what I'm gonna eat for the day and also

(19:22):
what I'm gonna wear. So to me is that preparation,
is that consistency, and then when you do it so
many times, you're just gonna get better. So to me,
it's waking up once again fifteen to thirty minutes early,
eating my protein, eating my breakfast. Breakfast to me is
the most important meal because I look at it as fuel.

(19:43):
So normally it would be like avocados, and it would
be like some eggs, coconut water, and then I'll have
like a black coffee and then also a tagglass of water,
so when I leave my house, I am properly fueled
to take on today's challenges and then also making sure
that I'm always being active. Right, Because when I kept

(20:07):
doing this, I started getting more energy. So I wanted
to utilize my energy in a positive way when it
came to doing yard work, when it came to doing
things around my house, but.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Then also going for walks.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
So to me, walking has changed my life, and not
just my life, but so many other people. So to me,
typically that's how my day goes is creating this routine,
waking up early, doing my exercise, eating and drinking the
proper foods, and then making sure that I'm keeping myself hydration.

(20:41):
Do you know how many ounces of water are you
supposed to have a day?

Speaker 1 (20:46):
I according to my doctor for me personally, I think
it depends on each person, but I'm supposed to have
at least two liters of water a day.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
So typically, because a lot of times, I've done a
lot of research on my own, right, do you due diligence?
And what I found out was whatever you weigh, So
to anyone that's going to be listening or watching this,
it's whatever you weigh, cut that number in half, and
that's how many ounces of water you're supposed to have.
So let's say a man weighs two hundred pounds, cut

(21:17):
that number in half, one hundred ounces of water, and
that's going to keep you hydrated but then also detoxified
taking out those toxins.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
You're having that water go through your liver, through your system.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
And it's going to wash out a lot of those hotsents.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
In your body.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Absolutely, And for anyone that is a diabetic that might
be listening, I am personally diabetic, and I have found
there are days maybe I've had a little too much
sugar in my system. Make sure you drink that water,
especially after something sugary, because that helps plush the sugar
out of your system. So water is very very important

(21:55):
in our lives, ladies, and I'm going to keep you hydrated,
keep you detox Like Nino said, perfect, you know for
bringing that up really quick. You know, tell us a
little bit about the program you're building. Like we said,
you're a wellness coach, you're building a program. Uh, is
this something that you charge a fee for? Is this
something you do for free? Do you go out and

(22:17):
do events? What is it that exactly that you do?
Explain to us what you do.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Yeah, So as of right now, I'm not really charging
because I like to get feedback and just to you know,
get a better understanding where maybe I might have to
do some adjustments. But for me, it's normally about an
hour and a half. It's one hundred and twenty five dollars,
and that is pretty much just taking in the information
that you know, whatever you're dealing with, what you need

(22:44):
help with, you know, and then uh, you know, taking
that all in and then I'll create something that's gonna
work for you because we're all different, So getting a
better understanding of your schedule, where you're struggling from. And
then I take everything that I've learned, because once again,
when I listen to someone, I'm able to put myself

(23:06):
where I was when you know where they're at, and
then the changes that I made, because maybe someone is
already at a you know, a good place, but they
want to get better. So just getting a better understanding
where they're at. And then there's tier two where you'll
still get that program. But then tier two is where

(23:27):
you know I'll be able to send you text messages,
but then also live videos that I do my workouts
where I'm able to do them throughout the day. So
this way I can help people with their schedule. Maybe
they can't do it in the morning and then or
maybe during the evenings. So to me, you get that
accountability maybe a little bit more detailed to maybe helping you.

(23:51):
And then the third one, the whole package, is that
now you have access to all my programs with when
I do my website merchandise that you would get percentages.
But then also when you do the three month plan,
that I would give you a certificate because I believe
if you give me three months, I will change your life.

(24:13):
Because it's changed my life, but not just mine. I've
seen changes with my mother who's going to be eighty
years old, and she's been able to get away with
her chronic knee pain. She's got more energy, and she's
lost over twenty three pounds. So it works for everyone.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
I think that's absolutely wonderful. You're doing a fantastic job, Nina.
We're in our community, we are very very proud of you,
and I'm hoping that a lot of our listeners check
you out. But first, really quick, go ahead and answer,
do you plan on doing any live events, any guests
speaking anything like that in the future.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Well, I mean, obviously there's one coming up with you
when it comes to the suicide prevention, that is something
that's very close in my heart. But it also gives
me an opportunity to share a little bit about my
experiences through this wellness journey. But then also you know,
with you with your event, because you know, things have happened,

(25:19):
you know, in my life when it comes to other
people when it comes to the suicide. But then also
Twisted Recovery, it's another organization where I'm going to have
opportunities to get on stage but maybe even on TV
where they're going to use my power positivity as a
segment of what they're building when it comes to helping

(25:41):
people with opioids, alcohol and drugs, especially for men, where
they're going to be able to reach out to me,
not telling them what to do, but let them feel
safe about you know, just you know, being open and
not being judged. So yeah, I'm really looking forward to
the future.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Wonderful, Really quick, Nino, Where can people find you online
to learn more?

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Well?

Speaker 3 (26:06):
I am on Facebook which is my name, Guy ton
Anino di Petro, on Twitter which is Nino's Digital Cafe,
and then also TikTok once again my name, and then
Instagram and also indeed. So yeah, so mostly right now
on those social media I tell people just send me

(26:26):
a DM and then I can send them those links.
But then in the near future, I'm hoping by August
I'm going to have my website, which will be Nino's
Digital Cafe, because I want that website to be where
people can meet up for different things, because I am
going to have events, even thinking about doing walkathons just

(26:49):
to let people. I'm all about creating communities. I just
want people when they're going through their journey that they
don't have to do it by themselves, that I can
maybe be there to help them, you guide them step
by step.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Well, I thank you personally for everything that you do,
because you're a big part of my life. You're a
big part of the ex community that we're on. We
all absolutely love and adore you, and I thank you
for just being the person you are and having the
compassion and the energy and the love that you do.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
We need more people like you in the world. Nino.
So I thank you, ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
I'm going to ask Nino one more question, and it's
one that I ask most of my guests, and I
usually stump them on it. Nino, if you can leave
our listeners with one important message about you from you,
like deep down, dig deep down in your heart, what
would it be?

Speaker 3 (27:52):
Believe in yourself. That's just believing yourself, and surround yourself
with positive people that inspire you. And if you need help,
ask for help. So it's three things. It's believing in yourself,
surrounding yourself with the proper energy. Right, I'm all about connection,

(28:14):
I'm all about energies, but then also doing yourself a favor,
ask for help when it's needed, because it's just human
nature when someone helps you, that you're willing to help
somebody else.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Absolutely, Nino, thank you so much for coming on the
show today. We hope that you'll actually come back and
join us again soon. If you're absolutely willing to put
up with my questions.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Here, Absolutely, it would be my pleasure.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Wonderful ladies and gentlemen, we've been talking to Nino.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Check him out.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
He's building his life coaching and wellness empire he will
be on the show again several times. Him and I
are actually going to be doing a few events here
in the future. Number one is a suicide prevention and
awareness program in Amarillo, Texas, not program, excuse me, a fundraiser,
I mean Amarillo, Texas. And we have some other things
to talk about, because I have quite a few events

(29:08):
that I'm interested in having Nino at, and I plan
on talking to him a little bit about my own wellness,
my own weight.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
I wanted to share something when it comes to that
suicide prevention fundraiser. We're looking for sponsors. So if this
is something that you believe in, because when it comes
to that event and when it comes to Christy, this
is close to our hearts because it's affected us in
a personal level. So we're looking for people to, you know,

(29:35):
want to be part of this.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
So thank you absolutely, and thank you Nina.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
All Right, ladies and gentlemen, once again, you could find
me Christy Michelson on x dot com at Christy Books,
and you can find me on all social media platforms.
Just do a name search and you'll find me. All Right,
Until next week, ladies and gentlemen, we will see you
well again. Real soon good Night everybody,
