Speaker 1 (00:04):
Ex president of the Sons of Ben Matt Kintastic X
head Cappo, Adam Booth, X player, and forever a Union
legend Sebastian Latou. These may be exes, but they're the
experts when it comes to the Philadelphia Union. This is
exes in the U.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Welcome back, everybody. It is exes in the U. We
have got a ton of stuff going on in the
Union Verse. You've got regular season playoffs, off season elections,
all kinds of stuff they're talking about. This is episode
number twenty two, and I'm joined with like Adam Booth
and of course Union legend Sebastian Latwo. Gentlemen, how are
we doing this? Fine? Tuesday morning afternoon.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
I got a bit a week than this one, but
you know, you have to keep pushing through.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Yeah, we were talking about the emotional dream earlier in
the pre game, about the everything that happens in boy
what let's just get into it. Union versus Otown down
in Orlando. Wow, two one loss. I'm going to say
the first half was flat, but Baiso get the start,
a lot of different changes. I thought the second half

(01:17):
it was, you know, started to play better, but a
little too late. Who wants to who wants to give
a recap of Orlando first Saba, Sure.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
I mean I watched it on my couch like I
was planning, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
And yeah, he was not the most exciting game from
the team. But the second half, you know, when we
got the ones there, we'd like to push and let's
say we could have won it, Uh if maybe we
made us or you know, the energy kind of changed
a little bit. I think when Quinn and Nathan came

(01:53):
into the game, and Quinn core Nathan got three wonderful headers,
we should have caught minimum one of those.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
And yeah, it's the game is about, you know, little thing.
But we we didn't play at our level and we
didn't really involve let's say our front three. You know,
we didn't touch auble a lot. We are not already
a part of the game. So it's difficult when any
of them, you know, are successful, are you helping the

(02:22):
team offensively?

Speaker 3 (02:23):
So it was it was tough.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
I don't think Orlando, I mean they are good offensively,
but I don't think their defense is the best, especially
with the Schlegel and hand.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Sand in the back.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
But yeah, we I don't think we we play that
he was a game to win. You know, we played
to maybe have a tie, and he was going on
in Columbus. But now you know, with the all the
results in the league, we are we are struggling. So yeah,
I think it was disappointing for me. I think we
should have we should have done better in Orlando.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Adam, you're giving me that sad puppy dog. Look, let's
let's hear it.

Speaker 6 (02:57):
I'm not even sad. It's you know that was It
was just a poor performance. And the thing about it
is you kind of go into some of these games
and you think to yourself, Okay, go to Orlando.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
Orlando doesn't playing well.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
You know, they're definitely a team that's going to have
at least a conversation about MLS Cup moving forward this year.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
You know, roster is great, but.

Speaker 6 (03:23):
It's one of those things where you cannot take games
off at this point. You know, you can't just say,
all right, let's put out a roster that we think
might get a point, maybe smash and grab and get three.
You know, you need to put out the best roster
you can every single time you played out there, and
I don't think Jim did, to be honest, with you,

(03:44):
and the thing about it is, I think we all
can come to the conclusion now the Union do not
have the depth to compete in a full MLS season
if this is what you're doing in your rotations. You know,
because I love Alejandro to death, this is not the
crunch moments minutes of Alejandra Godoya that I need to

(04:05):
him to start in a game in Orlando with the
season on the line, you know.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
And I just think we have some issues coming from
the back now too.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
I think you've exposed a couple of things with the
last couple of games, and from in Orlando particularly, spoke
to me with this, and Seba alluded to him himself.
The front three didn't get a lot of touches, and
reason being is they weren't getting a lot of service. No,
and you can always rely on good balls from Jack McGlenn,

(04:34):
good balls from Coogna.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
McGlenn was almost forgettable in this game.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
He was really was he was And look at this,
The stats don't lie on this front. It's not the
fact that the Union weren't even getting opportunities. They had
fifteen shots, two of them made frame, one of them
got into the back of the net. You're not getting
finishing from your players in any capacity. You're not getting
the service to the guys who finished well, who put

(05:00):
on the high percentage shots. You're not getting the ball
into high percentage areas right now, That's all that says
to me when you're shooting two for fifteen on target,
and it just says when the Union were doing their best,
they were getting service to Kranza, service to Ods, service
to Gosdag. Because those guys feed off of getting the

(05:22):
ball themselves. They're not necessarily the natural playmakers. And now
with a Burribo, this is not a team that those
are not gentlemen who are going to take the ball
and create in the way that they need it that
a lot of other teams have. So you need to
have service coming not from just from your midfield, but
also from your back line. And you're not getting the

(05:43):
quality that you need from the back part of your
defense or from the back part of your field.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Let's not let the defense off the hook either, because
in reality, Orlando had about thirty five shots that they
blasted into the ceiling over the crossbar. Oh yeah, they
had a lot of shots uncontested that if they just
could have put on frame, they might have had more goals.

Speaker 6 (06:04):
Something that you were known for two years ago, which
was your defensive prowess.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
It has been your undoing this year. And the thing
about it is is the roster hasn't changed.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
But uh, you know, to jump on your roster comments.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
If we are a fan and you believe in what
you see, you are like, yeah, we don't have.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Death because Gym doesn't play anybody.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
And I think we do have death, but it just
he doesn't play them.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
So we are believing.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
But I guess whoever we have is not good enough,
which maybe it is. I'm not there, you know, every
day I don't see it whatever, But you saw the
example with the type Arible doesn't play any minutes since
a year and if anally play any killing it, so why.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Not maybe a center back can do that? What it can?
Who can it be?

Speaker 4 (06:49):
I don't know, but I'm sure there's one good player
out there in the roster. But if you never play,
you will never know. And that's why we are here.
We don't have death and he has to play bid.
Oh yeah, but we saw how good can be Bueno.
We saw how good could be Halfanello, but they never
play so I understand, Yes, it's hard to play them
when you never play because you're like, how they're ready

(07:10):
for this intense battle or whatever.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
But it's I think we have this. We just don't play.
We don't play our players.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
So at the end of the days, like I know,
Gym is always confident in his twelve, thirteen, fourteen guys,
and he has to play the guy when.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
You have to.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
But at the end of the days, like you say, yeah,
it was he has the best choice to start on
a Wednesday game when it's like crucial to get a
win in Orlando, when it's one hundred degrees outside and
you can really like.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Maybe play, you know, or run as much as you
were able to a couple of years ago.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
And like you said, nothing against Ali, but it's it's a.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Truth thing right now, and I think we have that.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
It's just during the entire season, Jim never really play anybody,
and the only one we saw kind of flourish is
Baribo because he had to and when Baribo got his chanced,
he make it happen. But it's the only thing for
me I don't understand because we have I think good players,
like especially young players, but you have to find a

(08:10):
way to put them in and understand maybe in the
head of Gym and the coaching stuff, they are not
good enough or they cannot play because they prefer to
play always elliots. They prefer to have a fifty percent
elliot than a full you know, youngster who can play
in the back.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
I just don't know why we don't play all those guys.
But it's it's interesting just to see the story we
have this year of a guy who never played for
a year and a half, who we told me a
lot about, like he was not good, and it's got
more goals than anybody in the lapse of time you
have to play the game. So it's it's just, yeah,
frustrating as a fan perspective, because when you know what's

(08:47):
going on, you are like, okay, who can play now?
Because next year, yeah, if the defense stuff like that,
we are going to have maybe you know, three or
four goals every game against us if they keep playing
the same way.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
And to your point, you just look at the story.
We said, Baduyam and Beazos start, but when Nate and
Quinn get in in a sixty second minute, what happens
Quinn scores. Nate's got not one, not two, but three
headers that should have gone in.

Speaker 7 (09:12):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yes, if he hits two of those, I'm no shra
damash because I predicted a three to two win with
one of the boy bands, you know, scoring, and that's
what would have happened. But absolutely unfortunately it was a
two to one loss with Orlando clinching their playoffs, they
punched their playoff ticket. We went from eighth to I
think tenth. Yeah, and then we get back into they

(09:34):
get out of Central Florida, which good luck to everybody
down in Central Florida right now.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Yeah, please, And they go to Columbus.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
And three to two Columbus. Who wants to talk about
the Saturday night in Columbus, Ohio.

Speaker 5 (09:50):
I'll lead off, Okay, the Columbus game for me.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
And this started to become a must win it. This
is when you felt the pressure like you need it,
needed at least a result.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
But this is the thing about it.

Speaker 6 (10:05):
And the Columbus game starts in the Orlando game, does
it not, you know, like you're handling of the Orlando game.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
Then begins the Columbus game.

Speaker 6 (10:15):
Because then the Columbus game, it becomes so much more
gravity to it, and you can't really just sit and say, well,
I mean Columbus is just gonna you know, roll over
and you know, not play. They play hard at home there.
I mean again, by merit of both record and eye

(10:37):
test and hardware, they might be the best team on
the continent. You know. So you're watching a team that
is in a mode right now, who is getting their swag,
and you're saying, Okay, let's try to go get a result,
and the problem is you could have and there was
opportunity there for you to get one, and it just
felt like at times the Union just went to shut off,

(11:01):
like they just kind of just almost went into auto
watch mode, Like they Columbus scores on two corner kicks
they had no business scoring on.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
You know, these are.

Speaker 6 (11:12):
Basic set pieces that again, when we're talking about a
team that was known for defense, known as a stall
war in the back line, there's no way the twenty
twenty two Union allow either of these goals to be scored.
And I don't want to sit here and believe Jose
Martinez was everything for this defense.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
I want to believe he was a big chunk of.

Speaker 6 (11:34):
It, but I don't want to believe that his presence
as a defensive MIDI made this much of a difference defensively,
because we are at leaking goals that this team would
not have done years ago.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
And it's the same, gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Here's the stat I loved. The team has scored sixty
one goals this year. Yeah, okay, good, they've con seed
at fifty three. That has not happened since the early days.

Speaker 6 (11:59):
And it's always the worst time because yeah, we scored
sixty three goals. We scored nine goals against DC and
New York in one week. Yeah, that's only two wins, though, yep,
that's six points. You spread those goals out over four games,
you might have twelve points. But in that's in that condensedeness,
like that's the why that that's that's uh, that's why
that stat is so you know, misleading because ultimately, at

(12:22):
least on the plus side of goals scored, but goals against,
that's one of the highest goals against totals we've had
in years. And it's just we got games to go
and it's still like we could still leak more. This
is that I think, above everything else, everyone wants to
get another striker.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
Everyone wants to get a playmaker in the midfield.

Speaker 6 (12:41):
You need to figure out your center backing, and you
need to figure out your right backing very shortly. And
if you're gonna if we're if Kai's Kai and we're
in it and we're in it for the long haul
with him, okay, but you got to figure out what
that back line is because that is not the back
line that when MLS couple couple.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
Of years ago, even though wait a minute, it's the
exact same.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Backline, Sebastian, your thoughts besides the fact that I think
we need to get you on the radio booth because
Shanean's road record is not good on the radio right now.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Yeah, I don't think it is for But no, I mean, like,
like you know, I think the defense it's a huge
not this year. Like you said, we've got so many goals.
We are the only team who are not let's say,
are in a low playoff and we have a positive
difference of goals.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
We've come ogos and we took again.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
So yeah, there's definitely some let's say, you know, talk
to do to our.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
Defense and see what in who can do better and
be better? Understand. Yeah, the begin of the year where
like our Andre is not here.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
That's what we get all the you know, goals or whatever.
But yes, there is not the same mentality you can see,
like you give three goals again with Andre and a
goal against Columbuss of course, yeah, but it doesn't matter,
especially when it's those games. You know, you know it's
like you need to be able to you know, not
give your life but kind of close to save a
good on the line and you know, be the last

(13:58):
body to defend and help everybody. But you don't really
see that like maybe yeah, you saw this mentality you
know two years ago, you know with the defense and
beings the best deference.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Of the league, so.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
You know, it's it's normal. It's like for everybody, Like
the same for a striker. You know, when you score
a lot of gold, you're like okay and you can
take it easy and you don't go. It's kind of
what happened with our front three in the past game
because it's been scoring so many goals, you know two
weeks ago against the d C in ORDC. Is that
sometimes you feel like less pressure and I feel it's
the same for our defense because again there's less pressure

(14:30):
maybe on gleassness or Elliott because they know that Baba.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
You know, Damian Loui is not Hell anymore. So nobody's
gonna take my position.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
And Gym doesn't play anybody, So why should I put,
you know, an extra pressure on me or like in conscience,
you know, inconsciously you do lessons. It's a it's a
human being and a player thing. You know, I've been there.
I've done that too. When you're like, oh, you know that,
that's fine, like I'm saying yeah, but but in the
same time, it's yeah, it's he has to come from

(14:58):
you know, coaching staff, players, but yeah, to be proud
to not giving up so many goals in a season.
But it's a it's a work, you know, dead day mentality,
and right.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Now we don't have it.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
And that's why even if you's got two three goals,
you haven't so many times this year you still tie
or lose a game.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Yeah, and Nate and McGlynn score, yeah, but tie You're
a gaz dag have not scored during this current three
game run, where if one of them scores, it's a
whole new situation that we're talking about.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
I mean, you can the argument can be made for
dead legs.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Yeah, well the argument, but Hernandez didn't have dead legs.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
No, No, they also rotate them a little bit, a
little bit more in Columbus.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
I'll give Columbus credit. They lost the shield the day
before or not the day of the game before, right, Yeah,
and they still came back and played in fault. So
that that was to me, you know, a sign of
a team that's.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
Compass is really bleep been good. They're really good and
look and look, but remember when we were that good?
I do. It was a really nice time. And I'm
saying I don't want to let anybody off on this.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
We should still be Columbus.

Speaker 6 (16:09):
Should I mean maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe we should
be Columbus good right now?

Speaker 5 (16:14):
Maybe we don't.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
That should be the off season goal.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
That is the off season goal.

Speaker 6 (16:18):
But look, the fact of the matter is the roster's
not Columbus are good. And that's just it, you know.
And I'm the coach is creative too, I am. Look,
I'm here. And here's the thing, is like, is Wilford
too good for this whole thing?

Speaker 5 (16:33):
Is this?

Speaker 6 (16:34):
Like, I mean, he he's probably gonna be in Europe
in a couple of years, right, We're not going to
hold onto for more than a year and a half.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
I would be surprised. But then again, I don't know
if the coaches in the MLS get the respect that
some of the younger players because who do we? Yeah,
but how long was that?

Speaker 5 (16:49):
No?

Speaker 6 (16:49):
But got him out quick, you know, but also leads
his dysfunction person as an organization. You know, Like I'm
not exactly saying like it's also, uh, it's like Bryce
young with in the Carolina pan Maybe if it wasn't
the Carolina Panthers, we might see him beat.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
You know, he still might.

Speaker 6 (17:05):
But I'm just saying, like, look, sometimes circumstances be circumstanced.
The long story short, I'm saying this was a gauntlet too.
It's a combination of two things. You You went like
because here's the thing. When you played the teams in
front of you outside of Atlanta, and I think Atlanta
just had a game plan for you, is really what
it felt like to me. But when you played the

(17:26):
teams that you had to play, it had to compete
with you kick their butts, you know, you played the
best of the best. You didn't play well. I think
I think this says a lot. I think this shows
you where the gap is right now. You are not
in the conversation with the top three right now, and
you're in your conference, which is which is for the
first time in like five years, where the Union find
themselves not even really in the conversation of the top

(17:47):
half of the Eastern Conference and.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
They have a hard time beating the teams above them
in the top half. Yeah, the top four, top five teams,
Yeah them right now they do And it's and it's
pretty obvious. So look, this is a this is a
roster moment.

Speaker 6 (17:58):
You gotta figure out what it is with the center
back pairing, because I don't know if you can continue
with Glazenz and Elliott and still have confidence that that's
like a lockdown combination, you know.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
I mean, And here's the thing. To Jim's credit, he
did experiment.

Speaker 6 (18:13):
There was before we let go of Damian low there
was a lot of him being inserted in there. There
was back threes that were added intore like he was
trying to figure out.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
To make sure we're clear. Damian Lowe left us. We
didn't get rid of him.

Speaker 6 (18:25):
No, no, no, no, he left and he begged to leave too.
I begged to leave, and I mean, like, I'm happy
that the Union honored it. But like what I'm saying is,
ultimately you were in a situation where like Jim was like, look,
I don't think this is good enough, and he was
telling you in no uncertain terms, I don't think this
is good enough. But right now, and for things that
I don't understand, Brian Craig's not here, and I don't

(18:47):
know if the Brandon or Brandon Craig is not here?
Is is it Brandon and Brian?

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Are you sure it's Brandon? It could be either way.
So name mister Craig is not here right now, right now?

Speaker 3 (19:00):
Is Brandon? What you talk about it?

Speaker 6 (19:02):
What I'm saying is we don't have depth at the
center back position and any capacity. We got rid of
all of it. So I'm saying, who are you playing
right now at CB anyway?

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Even it is the third center back, Nate.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
So so you were playing in bays like that.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
Yeah, we're kind of we're kind of not We're kind
of you know, Sol, We're not.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Set up to succeed in the last couple of games
of the of the.

Speaker 6 (19:26):
Season, especially if those two guys are not going to
play up to their.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
Ability and they're not.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Yeah, I mean all right, but you have.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
Some young guys in uh.

Speaker 5 (19:37):
Yeah, Like can we sign anybody more?

Speaker 6 (19:40):
I think we signed half of you two for like
utility purposes, and we signed any we signed Rick, We signed.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Like at least two other guys. Like I feel like,
can we even keep signing?

Speaker 4 (19:50):
You have a guy named Makanya who they never played
because it looks like he's not good enough.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
But you know, I'm playing in two.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
You have a Pierre who is a young guy coming
from the as well. You know, we we have some guys,
but it's just like is it going to play them?

Speaker 3 (20:04):
That's it. It's all about you know, playing time.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
And of course are you going to expect them to
be as good as you know, a Glassness when he
was at his top. Not because need somebody to help you,
but I think the best time to do it when
you have a more experienced guy and a young guy
coming in a team and do it.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
But we are not so.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
How can we know? It's it's just a question. It's
you don't know until you do it. So but right
now we are not here. But I think there's some
young good guys who could you know, make it like
we have guys who now are in the national team.
Wasn't trustee and we had McKenzie right. Personally, I don't
think they were the best center back. I think we

(20:44):
have maybe better now. But now you know they played
because they went to Europe and start playing. Even if
they didn't play all the time, but they play for
the team and they got better.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
You always got better when you play.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
If you don't play at the high level, you will
never get better.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
That that's something we have to look for in the
off season because if you run it back with Elliott
and Glassness, they need competition. They need somebody up their
rear ends so they don't get too comfortable play simple
and I don't know if they can play with their
legs as long as they have been. Let's let's face it,
every year you get a little bit older, you know,

(21:20):
when both of them are I mean we are what
three years almost from lessons being m v P defensive
mv Player of the Year.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
Yeah, it's a lot of time in between that.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Yeah, but two stalls.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
You know, we are being very critical because of course
when you use two games, we cannot be positive.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
But I'm gonna stay positive.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
And saying that we we need a good we need
to win. And then it's a total discussion because when
the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
Defunct, competition defoune mentality.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
But we could.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
It's still positive, but it's gonna be very hard.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Yeah, and we'll we'll get into those possibilities. But just
like the MLS, we'll take a little international break and talk.
It's USA SoC all over again. Adam, how excited are
you for Saturday versus Panama? And then we're riding a
seven game on Beaten Street playing Mexico. All right, I'm
not excited about any of this. I am excited to

(22:12):
see the new coach. So if Tottenham, Chelsea Punch, PSG
Punch can pull this roster together and get them playing.
But it's not a test. You got Panama. We are oh,
seventeen wins, three losses, six draws against Panama. That's that's
not a test in Austin, Texas. Now we do play
Mexico in Guadalajara. Maybe that's a little bit of a push.

(22:35):
We see what we get, but nothing exciting. But that's
what we have coming up this week. We've got a
little bit of a break which could be good for
the union, because God knows they need a break, even
though we've got guys and did I see Sebastian. Maybe
you can tell me. Did did Drake go down to
play with Jamaica.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
I'm not sure, but I think he did, yet.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
I was hoping he wont it, knowing that the groin
wasn't one hundred percent.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
But we do have some.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
Call adam at anything on the US men's team or
are you super excited? I can tell by the look
on your face how excited you are about US men's soccer.

Speaker 6 (23:08):
Hit me with the truck man and I'm over these guys.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
They're so.

Speaker 8 (23:14):
Big.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
Polisit can score every goal in Italy that he can
possibly score on the planet Earth. You can't even score
a handful of goals the US national team. But it's
just these guys come back to US soil and they're just,
you know, the Lollipop Guild. I just don't get that
level of talent, just being so delightfully mediocre. But look,
no one's put North American soccer does not push these

(23:36):
boys into greatness.

Speaker 5 (23:38):
That's it.

Speaker 6 (23:39):
We're dealing with one of the weakest Mexicos in twenty years.
You know, I mean, like, God bless Canada for giving
us a secondary opponent and option of competition in the region.
But they're still getting their stuff together, and they're probably
a couple of years away from being a couple of
years away. And it's just, man, again, the biggest World

(24:01):
Cup of this country's entire existence will be here in
a year, in a year and then like a couple months,
and we're like, I don't can we get out of
the group stage.

Speaker 8 (24:13):
With these guys?

Speaker 5 (24:15):
We don't know what the group stage is an?

Speaker 6 (24:19):
And is this like this team I think is still
in the top fifteen in FIFA rankings and I'm not
exactly sure why.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Yeah, I'm not feeling it.

Speaker 6 (24:27):
They're just so delightfully mediocre from top down. Like I
have no trust in Matt Turner as a keeper. They
brought back Zach Stefan, Downingtown's own. They brought back Zach Stefan.
This is like again, new coach. He's probably just trying
to feel the whole pull out, you know, he's trying
to see what his options are. But it's just like,

(24:47):
it is so obvious that a country that used to
just solely produce goalies does not have a prominent number
one national keeper right now. And I feel bad for
Matt Turner because he could have taken this entire thing
by the horns, and he has not.

Speaker 5 (24:59):
He has left this door wide open.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
And the rest of these guys are too young or
too inexperience or or Horvath.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
That's it.

Speaker 9 (25:07):
You know.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Well, the kid that was from the fire that went
to Chelsea and I was playing, and he's saying he
wants to grab the reins and become the starting keeper
for twenty twenty six. Of course he's already piping up.

Speaker 5 (25:17):
But here's the thing. That's it.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
He can't drink legally.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
But that's a church is if we have to find
a new keeper before we host the World Cup. At
this point, it's it's bringing back Goose Guzan right now,
We're not going.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
That's a hot take. Where all right? So we have
upcoming the home game fan Appreciation Night the nineteenth Saturday,
six pm, a six pm start, that's going to be.
But we've got a Cincinnati who lost to Orlando three
to one. Now they got the break, they can get
that taste out of their mouth. We need the win
and then we need uh, we need the win we

(25:52):
need DC to lose it home to Charlotte, or Montreal
to lose it home to New York City or ties.
There are so many different formats to this, but it's
really in our hands. We need to be Pat Noonan
and company to even have a chance at the playoffs.
Sub are you calling this one?

Speaker 9 (26:14):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (26:14):
I am so.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
It's gonna be definitely lots of pressure for the guys,
But I.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
Don't think Pat noona team has something to play for,
which is.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
Good, so they can, you know, maybe give us.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Some help and give us a straight points. But now
we'll probably be in the booth and always look closely
to Montreal against New York CITYFC, I think it is,
and DC against Charlotte. So because it's two games that
the Newons are going to be able to watch, like
try to follow the score as well, because maybe we

(26:47):
might have some live update in the stadium for the
fans to show the score. But yeah, we need a
Charlotte or New York City f C to beat Montreal
or DC and the Union to win to make the playoffs.
So there's a lot of like things that need to happen.
It's possible because I feel like New York play for something.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
They play for the four seed exactly, so yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
And Cincinnati not to catch up. But Cincinnati doesn't have
anything because they're not going to reach Columbus and they
really can't lose to Orlando, so you're right there there,
We've got a lot to look at.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
So yeah, So and New York has a you know,
motivation to win in Montreal. But Montreal of course is
motivately as well because just a tie for them and
they make it, and the same for this sea. So
it's gonna be interesting to see like how that ta
game and what they want to do.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
But both we all play at home. Montreal player home
and we play home.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
So yeah, it's going to be, you know, in the
hands of of the football gods. And first we need
to win, and after we win, let's look, you.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Know, if you've got some help or not.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
But it could be you know, a crazy finisia maybe
at the last minions or some stuff like that in
any of the of the three stadium.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
We may not know, Adam, the results of everything until
you're exiting Super Rup Park, getting in the radio, getting
in the car and listening to seven Dave Leno to
tell you what all happened. Like that's going to be
their biggest post game production is going to be figuring
out how this mess all worked out and what happened
because we could still host the wildcard on the twenty third. Yeah,

(28:30):
there's still that chance. Is it still the twenty third?
I've read somewhere it might have been the twenty second.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
I thought that was a thing.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
I'm very sure as the twenty third, OK, because I've
I don't remember anything outside of a competition that has
ever played on a Tuesday.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
Yeah, so I think that I like it.

Speaker 6 (28:46):
And by a cup competition, I mean like either leagues
or US Open, Like nothing like MLS sanctioned that I
have ever seen it on a Tuesday. Real quick, to
make a point about the MLS cupsite And you wrote
these down really nice in our notes, So congratulations on
the notes. I've been really enjoying them today.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Glad you're reading them. It's a big change from the
last pod.

Speaker 6 (29:05):
Every pod MLS Cup is on December seventh, That's what
I have. Yeah, so you're gonna tell me there is
forty five days between the wild card games and MLS
Cup and then we start win.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Well, last year we started like February twenty fourth, the
season started.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
All right, Yeah, yeah, sure, yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Wild cards are October twenty third. Round one, best of
three series starts the twenty sixth through November tenth, which
is a really long stretch for best of three.

Speaker 5 (29:37):
Yeah, why do you need two weeks for a best
of three series?

Speaker 2 (29:40):
The conference semi still starts till November twenty third, like
closer to Thanksgiving. It, so there's a there's a lot.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
You need two weeks off between the conference.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
You want the conspiracy theory, old man MESSI needs a rest,
that's the conspiracy theory.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
This this seems woefully again and I remember this very
vividly the because again it's the same day that the
Phillies lost the World Series.

Speaker 5 (30:02):
The MLS Cup in.

Speaker 6 (30:03):
Twenty twenty two is on November fifth, the fifth of November.
Like Guy Fox Day, it was legitimately legit It was
a month before they're doing it.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Now. What is what has changed?

Speaker 3 (30:21):
It is International Day during those two weeks.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
You know, there might be I think there is something
in November. There's another international I think.

Speaker 6 (30:32):
Even so, yeah, okay, I'll give them those two weeks
even so we can still condense this roster. You don't
have to take a month and a half to play
a playoff in any sport.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
This is ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
That's that's what we've got. We've got a long time
to to what if if if we take care of Cincinnati.

Speaker 6 (30:51):
But if I'm a make consumer of the product, I'm
a forget turning.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
On no Apple TV.

Speaker 6 (30:57):
I'm saying even if I'm a consumer of a product,
I'm just saying, as from a marketer standpoint. If I'm
just working for MLS, I'm just saying to myself half
of the fan basically, even forget we're having in the
cup if it's gonna take them to a month and
a half from when we start the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
Wow. In Better News Union two October twentieth Yes, playoffs,
So tickets are sale and sale. Maybe that's what Maybe
we're watching MLS next instead. I don't think they have
as long as a stretch. And then the other thing,
I don't know if you guys saw this and said,
I'm not sure if you're in the market for a
new car, but season ticket holders get like a thousand

(31:30):
of three thousand dollars off of a Super U Now
they just announced it, So I don't know if you're
looking at a suber uo to trade up the electric
vehicle you're rocking, But.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
No, not yet but maybe soon.

Speaker 5 (31:40):
Yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
So yeah, I just I just thought that was a
nice little perk that you got. They didn't make as
big as Splash, but I read it. I go, you
need a super hue. I'll take three grand off.

Speaker 8 (31:51):
You know.

Speaker 5 (31:51):
Thought it's a thought.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
But we did talk about old man MESSI congrats, buddy,
you got the supporter shield. He probably doesn't know what
it is. And I don't think they're sitting on it
anymore because they don't have a group in I SC
So I guess the shield will do the tour around
the MLS now instead of being with the Miami team.
So they got their one picture with it. It gone.

(32:14):
But what I want to know, as a disgruntled Union fan,
did did Columbus ship the shield with the Cincinnati on
the bus ride down to Miami because they had it
that day?

Speaker 5 (32:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Usually the other groups don't really give it up so easily.
Hence why we didn't get it one time because the
LAFC guys were stoned and couldn't figure out ups and
Saturday delivery that's fair. So yeah, that was that was it.
But yeah, the Miami is the Supporter Shield champion, so
we're going to see if they can do the double

(32:45):
with that. I'm not sure not. It's not the easiest feet.

Speaker 6 (32:48):
But did you see Soshia Chestion get absolutely destroyed because
he tried to say that the Supporter Shield has its
more impressive than MLS Cup.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
I did not see that. It was. It was he
had a roundtable discussion.

Speaker 6 (33:02):
It was on the round Up show on Apple TV
and they're having discussion and Sasha was just like, look, man.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Winning the wholes league, like the whole.

Speaker 6 (33:12):
Season, going from start to finish, the long slog of it,
he said to him, was more impressive than winning MS Cup.
I do preface this by saying this, and I'm not
judging him when he says this.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
I'm just saying what he's saying. Sashin did not win.

Speaker 6 (33:25):
MLS Cup, but he did win a Supporter Shield, so
he himself has it won both. So I don't know
if he can ultimately compare the two, but he did
say to himself, he said to the audience that he
believes that the Supporter shild is more impressive and frankly
in every other country that's not ours.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
He's right, yeah, And I will tell you the truth.
And I said this back in twenty twenty. I never
thought the Union would win the Supporter Shield. I thought
we could win a US Open Cup, or because of
the magic of the playoffs, we could win m Less Cup.
I didn't think we were ever gonna have a team
deep enough to go through and run the table and

(34:07):
win all the all the games. I never thought we
would until twenty twenty, and that was an anomaly of
a year. So I see where he's going with it.
But let's face it. MLS Cup is the more valuable
of the trophies. Oh yeah, it made and you need
a lot of luck because of the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (34:24):
Yeah so, but that's what they're too.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
There are apples and oranges, though you can't compare the two.

Speaker 6 (34:29):
But here's the thing about it, and I don't want
to divulgees. I know we always have limited time on this,
but this is just a ponderance I had. And the
thing about it is, it just feels like it's a
much better barometer of who's the best team in Major
League Soccer than the MLS playoffs, because, like think about this.
How many times have we gotten one versus two in

(34:51):
an MLS Cup final, like we had it for twenty
twenty two, But how often do we have one versus two?
And it was that season it was very obvious that
the Union and LAFC were the two best teams in
Major League Soccer. I mean, we were being chased in
the Eastern Conference, don't get us wrong, but that was
really what was what was viewed, those are the two
best teams. To me, And again, I followed European soccer

(35:15):
for a very long time. I've always felt that if
you can win your league, and I say this in
any sport, you get the best record in baseball, you're
champion of me. Like I mean, like, obviously the World
Series is really important, but I've seen wildcard teams win
the World Series. I've seen the Florida Marlins win two
World Series off of the wild card. I've seen two
nine and seven New York Giants teams win the Super Bowl.

(35:35):
I'm not saying, by any stretch of the imagination was
that nine and seven Giants team the best team in
football that year. But they did win the appropriate amount
of games they needed to win to become champion.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
It just I have to get I mean Sebashial two
has been living in the country for eighteen years. Yeah,
formidable years in Europe. So what do you think about
this back and forth?

Speaker 4 (35:57):
I mean, like if I agree with the because like
the thing what it says, like it is harder to
win the league or the Supporter Shield than to win
the playoffs. The playoff need to be hot now for
forty five days before he was you know for Solidays, uh.
And you know, any any team can be like feeling good,

(36:18):
you know, for for Solidays, even if you've been not
so good, you know, for the.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
Past nine months. It happen everywhere in every league.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
And you can see that sometimes in the standing too,
Like there's a team who doesn't start very well, but
then at the end they finished strong and they let's say,
get the UFA you know cup at the end, finishing sixth,
but they didn't play very well for you.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Know three you know, part of the season. I think
it's it's harder because yeah, you have to be on
every week and every month.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
You cannot take off, and you know you play everybody
as well. Sometimes you know, you have a matchup in
a playoff and you're like, oh, we last against those,
but if we play them, we will definitely have been them.
So it's it's all about match up. It's all about
you know, the mentality you are in doing the playoffs.
But I think it has the hardest and being from
friends and Europe, like it's a it's as a shield.

(37:08):
And in soccer in America, after you win, you cannot
say you are the world champion because everybody else plays soccer.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
So you say you're the world.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
Champion in baseball, you're the world champion in football, but
in soccer is different. So and it's yeah, it's very
hard for you know, all the player who don't come
from the US to understand the mentality and what playoff
is about, because you play to have the best record
and beat every record during the regular season, which Union
did a lot of them when they won the shield.

(37:42):
And yeah, it's it's harder because it takes you know,
not just you know a few guys who play every game.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
It takes you know, everybody is a full group.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
And and I don't know, it's more rewarding to win
a full season the playoffs. Yes, it's exciting, definitely, but
and in the eyes of the fans here, it's what
he can the most. But when you look at all
the study, it's hard just to use the world.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
It's harder to.

Speaker 4 (38:10):
Win the regular season and to win a metspan. It's
harder in Long VT. It's harder to win the Metal
Cup of Gol too. But I feel sometimes you know,
you lose game and you're like, ah, you know, we
didn't get the lug today, or you know, it's just
one game. So it's always a kind of a little
bit of luck you need in those type of games.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
Oh, definitely. Now the opposite of the supporter shield at
him is the Wooden Spoon, And I'm predicting next year's
Wooden Spoon winner is going to be the Chicago Fire
because they just hired former US men's national team coach
Greg e. Bay is now going to be the sporting
director and head coach. So I think the Fire is
a dumpster fire. That's my prediction for next year. Wooden

(38:52):
Spoons for everybody.

Speaker 6 (38:55):
Time and time again, my most disappointing franchise in Major
League Soccer, just from top to bottom.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
I would give up watching if I was a Fire fan.

Speaker 5 (39:04):
I feel that I do too.

Speaker 6 (39:06):
I authentically feel bad for Chicago Fire fans because, like
you know, people can talk about the union ownership and
our front office and whatever, and they would kill to
have what we have here in Philadelphia. In Chicago, they
would absolutely.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Don't spend the ten million dollars from one player, yeah,
but won't do anything else to make the team.

Speaker 6 (39:24):
Man, I'm sure their fan base is tired of Schweinsteigers
and Shakiri's and actually wants a vision for once, you know.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
But speaking of vision, uh countrymen of mister Latou.

Speaker 6 (39:37):
Yeah, pa oh man, my one of my favorites.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
Yeah, his doping suspension should be it got reduced. And
the rumors are he coming to MLS in twenty twenty five?
Where do you think he would go?

Speaker 5 (39:51):
Guys?

Speaker 6 (39:51):
All right, So when he's a Frenchman, right one number
at LAFC is he getting? Is he going to get
like is against six? Is going to get eight? What's
he gonna wear at l a f C.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
Imagine is there like a pipeline from l a f
C straight to France that you know of?

Speaker 5 (40:06):
No?

Speaker 4 (40:06):
He just you know, as a French person, the most
you know, famous city. It's so it's very attractive it's sunny,
it's California, So that's why I think they like the
life over there. And I'm sure a lot of them
have been already in vacation a few times during their carrier,
so that's what they feel like.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
But I don't know, how about maybe your San Diego.

Speaker 5 (40:31):
Yes, which was closer to Tahiti.

Speaker 6 (40:33):
Maybe he just wants to hear being your front borders
San Diego flights to Hawaii.

Speaker 5 (40:38):
Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 6 (40:39):
Look, I mean, look, if I've been the first person
to say this all the time, they are. If you're
gonna if these uh, very talented people who've played in
very beautiful places in the world are going to come
to America, it's it's not gonna be Kansas City, guys.

Speaker 5 (40:55):
I'm gonna be real with you. So you know what, I.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Think we need to talk to the Visadelco. They need
to do a better job of advertising how Delco's a
lot in France, and then maybe these guys will come.

Speaker 6 (41:06):
Will you start recruiting guys in like Red Star Belgrade.
I think they're gonna be like Manchester's fine, this is great.
I'm ready for this experience, you know.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
But yeah, I wrote out a Champions League paragraph. But
I don't even know if we have the time to
get in to all that. I'm gonna just skip it. Well,
we'll try to talk about it at some other point. Well,
I wanted to wrap everything up because we have a
couple of things. But NWSL the Orlando Pride won their
supporter shield, so congratulations to them. I thought the Kansas
City Current was going to do it, but they cunt.

(41:35):
And yeah, we've got, like I said, us soccer coming up.
But what else is coming up is I believe October thirteenth,
it begins. The Sun's have been election, So if you
are a SOOB member, you will be getting a choice.
And what we have here and we're gonna have to
have executive producer Sean brace plug these in. I went
out in the wild at them and secured two interviews.

Speaker 5 (41:58):
You did journalism, I did journalism. Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
So two people are running for president and the first
one is remember at Large Justin Friedman. I got him
at Z's Brewing during the Orlando game, so I was
able to interview him. So we're gonna play that right now.
And that was that interview. He's running for president. You're
gonna know what he's about. And then on Saturday for

(42:23):
the Columbus game, I went to Orland, Pennsylvania. Why well,
there was a party there and I also knew that
one Ryan Bross was going to be there, so I
wanted to get Ryan's rebuttal let him have the same
three questions. So now you can hear what Ryan has
to say and why you should re elect Ryan Bross

(42:45):
for president. And the Sons of Ben Brace rolled that
beautiful bean footage. Couldn't have said it better myself, not
at all. So that's what you have coming up for
the Sons of Ben election, and everything else is where
they're still letting nominees come in. We're gonna we'll keep
it up today and we may be doing a Q

(43:06):
and A with Sons of Bend board members at some
point on this pod that was broach, So we're gonna
have some supporters group news real quick.

Speaker 5 (43:14):
Just to go back, however minutes. That is one of
your best references.

Speaker 7 (43:18):
But beautiful bean footage, I gotta say that's commercial has
zero idea commercial idea.

Speaker 6 (43:30):
Exactly what girl, what time in Seba's life when he
been presented with the bushes beans commercial?

Speaker 2 (43:38):
I gotta think when he's watching American football.

Speaker 5 (43:41):
Even so when he was living in Seattle.

Speaker 6 (43:43):
That's definitely a product that's not being like, that's the
Pacific Northwest, don't.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
We're gonna get your cana that don't worry.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
I know the I know the beer. But that's it.

Speaker 5 (43:56):
Oh yeah, well a little different.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
Well I don't know what's worked. Well, what we'll get
into that.

Speaker 3 (44:01):
Oh boy, well guys.

Speaker 2 (44:03):
Yeah, that was episode number twenty two with our sponsor
Bush's Beads or Bush Beer. We'll take them in sponsors too.
But everyone, thanks for joining us on episode twenty two.
We will be back next week where we will be
diving in against the Cincinnati game and scene if we've
got any hope left of this season. Everyone, thanks for
tuning in. Sebastian, thank you so much. Good luck today

(44:24):
against friends, get that win.

Speaker 3 (44:28):
Yeh, thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
Adam, thank you very much, and we'll be talking to
you next week. Thanks a lot, everyone, Adam and Sebastian
latou I am at Zed's brewing at halftime with a
future candidate for the Suns of Been presidency, Justin Friedberg. Justin,
thanks for coming on real.

Speaker 8 (44:49):
Quick of course, always a pleasure, especially at my old
stomping ground sets.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
So we are at Zed's at halftime for this Orlando game,
and Justin is going into a head to head campaign
against the incumbent Ryan Bross for presidency of the Suns
of Ben. We're gonna keep it nice and simple, easy, Justin,
You've been a member at large for two years. I have, uh,
why do you want to be president?

Speaker 8 (45:12):
I think, you know, I've been a member since the
very beginning, and I think that well, I've only been
a season ticket hoverer since twenty sixteen. We've been a
board member for the last couple of years. I think
the group could use a nice young face, someone who
who's been around, who knows what it you know, will

(45:33):
to take just to even get back to the basics
of the group.

Speaker 5 (45:37):
And I think.

Speaker 8 (45:38):
Overall, I just want to bring a little more harmony
to the group because the last few years, with everything going.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
On in the form of the team.

Speaker 8 (45:48):
It's just it feels like it could just be just
got back to basics and get back down to the
origins of the group and keep it simple, you know.
And I want to I want to bring some newer.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
Ideas as well.

Speaker 10 (46:03):
Fair enough, fair enough, and you know, you've been with
the board, You've been around it, so you understand the
complexities of the board, which I can speak volumes on
which we won't get into that, so real quick.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
Just it's a campaign. We can keep it nice. Say
one nice thing about your competitor.

Speaker 8 (46:22):
He is very passionate about, you know, game day. Ryan
is you know, when you see all the teefos that
Ryan's there's Ryan babies. But he knows the intricacies of
you know, game day ops, of the tailgate. He's been around.
He does bring a lot of good ideas when it

(46:44):
comes to game day. So when it comes to.

Speaker 2 (46:47):
Overall that, I I.

Speaker 8 (46:49):
Envy his artistic ability because I do not have a lot.
So I I envy his ability to to to run
on on coffee alone, uh, to do those you know,
more than anyone his his you know, coffee is part
of his bloodstream.

Speaker 2 (47:04):
Without a doubt. And last thing, all right, just for
people that are registered voters for the selection, why should
they vote for you? I, you know, I don't I
don't want to to you know, make any grand promises
and and tell people this or that, and and I

(47:24):
think if they want a someone who wants to bring
some fresh new ideas.

Speaker 8 (47:32):
I feel like I can be a new voice now.
I've been around in the beginning, so I know the
intricacies of the group. I know the complexities of the board.
I want to bring some new ideas, such as maybe
simplifying some of the game day processes, maybe kind of

(47:53):
bringing a lot of things together, maybe doing a little
more community outreach, trying to get our our name out
there in areas that we may be under serving, because
at the end of the day, while we are the
supporters group for the Union, we are also inherently soccer
supporters and we should be supporting all types of soccer,

(48:16):
whether it be Philly Loan Star or going to you know,
you two games or you three, or like, we should
make this mortgage just about soccer in the area and
pushing that as well. So I think having bends around
the soccer in the areas, and you know, since I
could crawl, I think, you know, bringing that kind of

(48:39):
a face would be great, so that you know, it's
just some.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
Of the some of the ideas I want to bring.

Speaker 8 (48:45):
But as I always tell people, I'm an easy person
to find.

Speaker 3 (48:49):
At the tailgates.

Speaker 8 (48:50):
You can see me handing out alcohol at the tailgates.
It's hard not it's hard not to miss this.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
This this beautiful bald head. It's always good to bribe
them with alcohol. Well, thank you so much for hopping
indoor in halftime, of course, and we will see you
doing an election day and maybe we'll get a debate
on the podcast between you guys. That'll be a ratings winner.

Speaker 5 (49:09):
I'm always down, all right, man, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (49:12):
Justin good luck. Thank you, Adam brace Lettou. I am
live in oil in Pennsylvania. I track down President Ryan Bross.
We're doing a Q and A about the elections. Bross, thanks
for agreeing to take time out of here.

Speaker 9 (49:28):
Yeah, or just at halftime halftime.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
We're halftime at the game watching this. So just you know,
you've been president already, You've been on the board a
long time. Why do you want to run it back?

Speaker 9 (49:42):
My main reason for running for president for a second
term for that, I just we're trying to we're getting
ready to move into a new direction with the board.
There's a lot of new faces on the board. A
lot of people that I was on the board with
for a long time are no longer on the board.
They've said it's retired. I think you probably know that's

(50:02):
what I'm talking. Yeah, yeah, So I'm and just looking
at it and looking where the team is right now,
where the group is right now, and where we are
in terms of global soccer right now. I am looking
to run for another term to get our group through
where the city's hosting the World Cup game and in

(50:26):
twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (50:26):
Six, stabilize, get ready for the transition. Great, ask the
same question of your opponent, Say one nice thing about
your opponent.

Speaker 9 (50:36):
Well, Justin's he started out as a tailgate volunteer. He's
always he's there to help out and always helping hand.
He comes to all the tailgates that he can manage,
and he's always there to help out. He's taking an
interest in helping the Bridge Brigade grow and build their
representation for the Union too, which I think is a

(50:58):
is a huge thing. And that's another thing we are
looking forward to as a with the Son's event, is
just to grow the support for the second team, and
we have Kyle would to help to thank for that.
We're starting with the Bridge Frigade and we've kind of
taken the Bridge Frigatee under our wings and I think
Justin's doing a great job at showing support at for

(51:20):
Kyle and his endeavors there.

Speaker 2 (51:22):
Yeah, great, all right, last question, why should we vote
for you?

Speaker 9 (51:27):
Like I said, I really just I want to get
to make sure this group is going to be able
to survive for the long term. And I've I just
think we need one more good term to get through
twenty twenty six and then get everything on the right
foot and get some new faces moving in the right

(51:50):
direction and kind of build back up a relationship that
we had with the front office that we had when
I first joined the board. There was a large turnover
a year or two in the front office. A year
or two after I joined the board, We've lost some
faces in the front office. A lot of them are

(52:12):
out in Houston with the Texans.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
But and.

Speaker 9 (52:17):
But yeah, just to get everyone back up on that.
The foundation is back in full swing and we're fully
supporting that and we're working with that. That group, even
that has some turnover, so just kind of the team
might be going through some changes, a little bit of
turmoil in terms of performance and just overall, and I

(52:38):
just want to keep the group, our group stable and
get us through any possible hardships.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
All right, well, thank you for taking time out of
the party. We're gonna get back to after halftime and
see if we can get this game off of Columbus.
And thanks again, guys. We are
