Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ex president of the Sons of Ben Matt Gantassic X
head Capo, Adam Booth, ex player and forever a Union
legend Sebastian Latou. These may be exes, but they're the
experts when it comes to the Philadelphia Union. This is
exes in the U.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Welcome back everybody to number twenty nine of exes in
the U. It is a beautiful day in the Union verse.
As we are going into week number four, I believe
the MLS season so again, I am joined as always
by proud Papa Adam Booth and Union legend Sebastian Latoo. Guys,
(00:44):
how are we doing today?
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Great? It's the booth for baby.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Thank you, thank you. I did all of the work.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I was gonna say, congratulations Laura for doing all of
Adam's work.
Speaker 5 (00:59):
Well, how you you do not understand the depth of
me moving things in the house and building strollers and
occasionally warming bottles Like I'm an MVP out here.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I'm just saying, who's double checking your works?
Speaker 4 (01:13):
My question?
Speaker 6 (01:14):
My Italian mother in law, who came all the way
over here from Palermo to make sure her grandson was
taken care of by this lute of a human.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Not all heroes wear capes. They're just known as from Italy.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
That's all.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Well, guys, let's let's get into it. We we have
got to go over the New England victory. So Union
win three in a row has never happened first time
in club history, so that's kind of good. And they
want in New England and Sabah, you were there. I mean,
(01:49):
how cold was it compared to the last game in
Super U Park versus this game in New England?
Speaker 7 (01:55):
He was pretty much the same. He was just a
very wind you know, I'd even go on a few
to check. I prefer to stay inside the radio booth,
but he was. He was definitely you know, let me
less win the only field that he was on the
street because of the big stadium, and he stopped a
little bit, but still you know, it was an element
(02:16):
and a cold paffs.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, it looked cold and windy, So I don't know.
And that turface never never looks great. Looks better on
with football, but never looks great. So Adam, you want
to give your thoughts on this to nothing win with
Ty Barribo scoring his six goal in three games.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
First, I want to say, what the heck New England.
That fan base used to be very strong, and I
don't really blame them so much, but whatever is happening
up in there in New England, They're not that great
of a club at the moment on fourm and wise
on the on the field, but that was a scarce crowd,
to say the least. It could not have been remotely
(02:59):
close to their imported numbers. And that was I mean,
that was that was for a club that I respect
a lot. That was pretty embarrassing I just saw off
the bat. But in terms of the play on the
actual field, look, I felt that the Union did exactly
what the Union do, especially against their opponents that are
within a four hundred mile radius of them. You know,
(03:22):
the Union are pretty dominant against the teams that reside
in the Mid Atlantic region slash New England, and they
continue to do so. It was a game that for
the most part, it just didn't really feel like New
England really got their act together, and I feel like
the Union were pretty choking in terms of their how
they wanted to handle it and on the two goals.
(03:44):
To me, there was a couple of more chances and
opportunities where I thought the Union had got on the
board before that. But you know, I just I think
it was a well played game from starting to finish.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
And I think that this is the.
Speaker 6 (03:57):
Negative of like I think we can now sense, you know,
I think the first two games, like one game happens,
it's one thing. Two games happened. Another three games we
might be able to say this might be an identity
or the beginnings of an identity.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yeah, I can't disagree. I mean the first half I
was a little nervous. I don't know how you guys felt.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
I was like.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
The zero zero New England hasn't given up any goals?
Speaker 4 (04:27):
What are we?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
What are we looking at here? Second half obviously felt
a lot better. Sebastian, I mean you were calling the game,
what did you think overall?
Speaker 7 (04:35):
Yeah, but I think it was it was a sort
of game like we talk about it. No, it was
kind of a trap game for them, kind of coming
into a team who lack of confidence, player holmants to
kind of try to start their season. But I think
the first half was you know, absolutely not crazy. You
know about the chances maybe the one of Gazdak could
have been you know, in But after that, I think
(04:56):
the second half, you really see, like physically and you know,
like the reason of the game like really kind of
shows that the Union were going to score, Like you
had a feeling, you know, in the second half they
were pushing, but they were you know, kind of like
the last part and at the end, you know, with
a great cross from a Wagner. You know, did he
bring another assist? You know, as soon as the goal happened,
(05:16):
he was, he was in the film. But v Ne
New England, you know, having Campana maybe coming out you
know at the game after you know five minutes, maybe
a blow for them, and they are not you know,
having any solution.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
You know, you didn't see them really being dangerous.
Speaker 7 (05:31):
So I think it was a good to have the
first clean sheet as well, and you know keep building
from that for the you know next game home.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Yeah, this, like I said, the first half, I was
a little concerned, but the second half looked looked really good.
I mean tie scores, like we said, he is tying
the MLS record for the most tallies in the first
three games since nineteen eight ninety nine. So what a
start he's having. I forget what he's I think he
(05:59):
scored twenty two goals in his past twenty nine games
is something I might have read, which is just incredible.
Jovan Luca opens up his account with a banger and
a kind of weird snake celebration. I haven't seen that
in a while. You saw that right at him.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
I man, I was just thinking he was, you know,
hearkening back to old wrestling, like you know, you know
Jacob eight. Yeah, I mean I would just you know,
maybe he had a couple maybe he knew something about
the old WCW that we were as not breaking too.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Yeah, and it was a nice setup by Ali across
back to Indiana. Indy gets his first assist, so everything
was coming up roses and side note, Kai made his
one hundred and seventy fifth appearance for the Union. He's
got four assists, so he leads the MLS with that,
which I mean, all the time we've had Kaile Wagner,
did you think he would have gone one hundred and seventy
(06:54):
five games?
Speaker 6 (06:56):
No, I thought we were a Solian you know, forty
six games ago. But you know, circumstances be circumstances. But
I mean, look, he's one of the guys that you
make the starting eleven.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
He's obviously one of the first people that you pencil in.
Speaker 6 (07:12):
You know, he is defensively and offensively one of the
best left backs in the league, if not the best
left back in the league.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
So it's uh, the these statistics don't shock us.
Speaker 6 (07:23):
Where if this was any other club and their left
back was leading the league in assists, they might be like, oh,
he's talented.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Now my question and this isn't really so much on
the field, it's off the field. Is the nickname Kai
Tai going to stick? Because I keep seeing that? I mean, Seba,
do you see this? Is this like a karate kid thing,
a Cobra Kai thing? But I keep seeing Kai Tai
all over Twitter x and even in the blogs. Now
I'm not sure if I like this nickname or not.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (07:53):
I mean, if you if you train, but I didn't
see too much because I loved on social media. But
what do they you know, it could be a good connection,
as much as you can connect bevins and happy with that.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Okay, well that that that that that's subtled it. It
could be a thing we're gonna say. But no, they
those were notable and Blake I think only had to
make one safe. But it was vin to John dre Blake,
and I thought the Luca Donnelly central midfield combo looked
really solid and defense looks solid. I mean we might
have a center back pairing already. What do you guys
(08:28):
think about that?
Speaker 4 (08:32):
I like it.
Speaker 7 (08:33):
I mean again, a player, you know, Markanye didn't see
the field since he arrived, you know, with Jim you know,
I'm when I was hearing, it was like he didn't
have a level or he was not enough, pretty good
enough and just to give a chance. You can see,
like all of those guys who come to the team
in or lookage, who just arrived and are one of
the best players every game start of the season.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
It's importanio to the guys.
Speaker 7 (08:57):
But Macan, I think it was a very impressive in
this game, you know, almost giving the first as season
when Gazdag miss you know above the crossbow, like be
sure how powerful he is still technical and offending a
right pass and then you know he was so close
to get the fields good But yeah, I really like it.
I think his confidence is growing, you know, and I
(09:20):
think you can still progress a lot and even get better.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
So it's great to see.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Yep, Adam, your thoughts on I mean, look, I think
this roster is pretty solid, you know, I think.
Speaker 6 (09:37):
I mean again, there's a lot of unknowns and I
think when the when you look back at what we
thought the team was, because it wasn't it wasn't a
quick bird. You know, some teams are signing their ten
million dollar guys been in the window, and the union
are not necessarily you know, here's.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Everyone in week one.
Speaker 6 (09:56):
They're definitely waiting until up until the end of the
transfer opportunity and train opportunity windows to get in there.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
But these guys have worked out. You know that it
doesn't seem like you missed a beat.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
I think, and this is the thing you were replacing
easily your best defensive center back or a defensive midge
in the history of the club. I mean, someone can
talk about, you know, a couple of the guys he
played with, but I think when you're trying to place
a guy like Jose Martinez, you know, that's difficult and
for the most part, especially in this like pivot you're
(10:32):
doing right now looks good when you're playing, when you're
replacing a Jack Elliott, a guy who almost want you
an entire temile Esca it's good so far. You know
what I think is not taking it up is Wesby
playing right back right now has been playing his nasties
(10:53):
class at the position when you have adviso and heral
there make them healthy.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
And he's still like, I gotta go with Westy.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
Because he's playing at the high level right now. For me,
you know, it just seems like in the end, it's
been playing well too.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
It just seems like right.
Speaker 6 (11:12):
Now you have a lot of good talent that you're
gonna have to find some playing time for all of them.
But for the most part, these transfers look good and
it's beyond just the money and the figures and all
of that. Do you do they fit the system? Are
their egos too big for the moment?
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Like?
Speaker 6 (11:34):
Can they fit into a system where the Union play
a lot of ego lists soccer?
Speaker 4 (11:40):
You know, we don't play guy.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
We don't have a number ten or we do, but
we don't rely on our number tens to beat the
last man to score the goals all the time. We
play ticki tachi, We do long balls, we get counter
attacks going, and can you get the right personnel to
come in and fit what you're trying to work with.
So far, you got it going great. I love Alejandro
(12:03):
Medoya coming off the bench. I think he's a sound
veteran leadership towards the close out games. I mean, no note,
so far, they haven't really given me anything to complain about.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Well, and the one thing I'm impressed is we still
haven't seen me for the new big signing, Ian or
center back, so they're both supposed to be healthy. Now
we may see them. So that adds not just starters
that were supposed to begin the year before the injuries,
but now you've seen guys like Westfield and everybody else
(12:34):
having some depth, which is I think the most important
thing because I always thought back in Seba's early days
playing with the Union, we had ten to eleven guys
that I was confident going into a season with any
other MLS team, but as the season were on, we
didn't have the depth. And now it looks like Ernst
has uncovered some depth that we can go on a run.
(12:56):
Playing this phrenetic style is chaos sock, you know, for
a whole am season. So some of your thoughts, I mean,
we haven't seen it yet. I haven't seen Ian. I mean,
what are you thinking about the defense, the new midfield, everything.
I mean, the only thing that's remained the same as
the big three up front that it's been pretty uh
pretty much new in major areas of the field. I mean,
(13:19):
what what what what? What are your thoughts before we
get into some news.
Speaker 7 (13:24):
I mean, yeah, it's it's great to see that you
know right away as the recipe. You know, he really
work and all the guys like Adam Saya, you know,
you know, really in a perfect kind of set of
mind to what they have to do on the field
and you know, really focus on the team and you
know try to everybody bring something, you know, to to get.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
To the results.
Speaker 7 (13:46):
So you know, you know as well to you know,
Daniel and you know the new coaching staff to kind
of get that as well very quickly, because it's not
it's not always easy when it comes to a new club.
And you know, so far iever they are doing from
the beginning is working and everybody really feels concerned, which
is great, you know to see from the stub coming
(14:08):
in like in a difference to the guys who maybe
don't play, but you know as practice, you know, keep
pushing the guys who maybe start right now.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
It doesn't mean maybe he's going to be the same starter.
Speaker 7 (14:18):
You know, next month we might see, like you say,
lots of guys we didn't see yet, and I'm sure
they will help the team, you know, win more games.
But yeah, it's definitely healthy. It's a great environment to
be on. Of course, you know, everybody wants to play.
But like with maybe a game like after the natural game,
we are going to have the same race game and
you know, for the same race game, we're going to
(14:38):
be probably missing a few guys for international call up.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
So on that it's like you said, we are going
to announce Hi.
Speaker 7 (14:44):
Maybe it's the little depth the Union has with of
course the younger who need to improve themselves, but we have,
you know, some quality to still win even if maybe
we'll be missing some guys. So I'm excited to see that.
And you know it's just the beginning. But so far,
you know, it's he's being credible.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Yeah, no, I mean great result three and h two.
Nothing Tyberiba leading the Golden Boot you couldn't ask for.
There's nobody thought this was going to happen in the
off season, not even ere. It's Tanner, so hell of
a hell of a beginning, I wanted to get in
a little Union news. Remember everybody, if you are a
season ticket holder, especially in the River, and the Union
(15:24):
did send out a survey about safe standing and GA
so make sure you get that vote. Vote with your heart,
vote with your head. Whatever. Now, the biggest news I
saw Adam, and I don't know if this just came
across X or Facebook right before we got on the
Union of a new promotion in the stadium.
Speaker 8 (15:46):
They are taking a paixers. In the NBA book, it
is called corner kicking for Chicken. If we score a
goal off a corner kick, you're going.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
To get five count of chie f l a nug nugs,
two goals, eight count, three goals, fifty or twelve county?
So are you ready for kicking for chicken at them?
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Look, I'm not a massive but part of me fields.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
The statistical probabilities of someone missing two free throws is
a block higher.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
Than someone scoring.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
Specifically, a goal off a corner kick adds a way
to earn chicken, So I'm gonna need.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
Those numbers to go.
Speaker 6 (16:32):
I'm saying if we score convol off of a corner kick,
that should be an eight count automat right.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
If we scored two, we're talking like catering numbers. Now,
I'm talking twenty four count thirty counts, multiple sauces.
Speaker 6 (16:49):
You know I'm gonna need like three Chick fil A,
a couple of Sarachas maybe, and then some you know, polynesia. All.
If we score two to three goals, twelve count three
goals that look not in this ecconomy.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Listen, what I would rather have instead of the free
chicken is you get to go to the front of
the line of the drive through. You get to cut
everybody the hell off, and I'll pay for the damned chicken. Yeah,
just get me in front of that line, because you
know that thing is that people are waiting on Sunday
for Monday to get chicken.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
It's unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (17:19):
Just give me a proper lemonade to ice reef if
that's what I've heard the unions or a bull kick.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
Everyone gets a proper amount of lemonade, the amount of ice.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, that's a Are you a big fan of the
Chick fil ag Yeah?
Speaker 3 (17:36):
I love it. I love it.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Well, we're gonna be hoping for major goals now, Adam,
do you think people will stop yelling Union Union during
corners and start going chicken Chicken.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
Yes, I actually hope this, to be honest with you,
I think that would be the best part that comes
out of this is if we just started yelling chicken
in a way or like, eventually people will catch ama
for like the first two games. It'll be so funny
watching people just be like, are they saying shicken?
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Yeah, that's that's the Union partnerships, that's their dream, I
guess Ben. Speaking of partnerships, one more thing, Adam, I
will be on the concourse one superu Plaza giving people
information about the Nashville trip. And you know, the best
part about the Nashville trip, it's not that the Union
to play in Nashville. It's not that it's Fourth of
(18:30):
July weekend. But if you travel, you get to hang
out with Sebastian Latwo in Nashville.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
I was gonna say the bourbon, but cool. That's also fun.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Well, listen, if you've ever hung out with Sebastian La two,
there's usually a cocktail or two that comes along with it.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
There will be bourbon with Sebastian.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
I love that definitely, definitely, So I'll be on the
Plaza letting people know about the trip. So from twelve
to two, and it's supposed to be a beautiful day.
So we're gonna we're gonna see and and Sabby. I
hope you're ready for this this trip. I hope you've
been practicing your line dancing.
Speaker 7 (19:05):
Yeah, it's fine, my best, but it's it's it's gonna
be a fun and hopefully keep doing it very well.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
Yeah, all right, little bit of league news, Uh, as
we know. And did you guys see Seattle beat the
Drums off at l a FC this week four to one.
It was like, wow, San Diego remains undefeated, not undefeated,
so they've got a tie. And Miami won without Messy
(19:33):
and apparently they don't need eleven guys to win games anymore.
I think they've won what two games now with a
man down and no Messy and a man down, so
that's a little scary. And lastly, Vancouver, like your Philadelphia Union,
are three and oh with uh they're they're missing their
(19:53):
their captain. He got injuredy supposed to be out a
couple of weeks and then they just eliminate it Monterey
in Conka CAFF Champions Round yesterday so the white Caps
might be the hottest team in all of MLS and
then the Union come on. But that's just the news
around the league so far. Any any thoughts on any
(20:16):
of those teams, Adam, did you see any white Caps action?
I mean, we know Sebastian watches the Pacific Kacadia couple lots,
so he's probably been in tune with watching Vancouver play.
Speaker 6 (20:29):
I watched all of the Champions Cup last night because
you know, I is as a proud American, I like
to see how we compete against these other nations in
these sports, even though all of our teams are full
of non Americans now these days, I'm unless.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
An like to what he used to.
Speaker 6 (20:45):
Anyway, when I was watching them last night, I saw
that Allan Galaxy, you know, a team that has been
getting there but literally kicked all over the season, finally
found a way to score at home in front of
a crowd.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
Of maybe eight thousand. So we want to talk about
the weather.
Speaker 6 (21:02):
If New England, why could no one go to Carston?
I just out of curiosity. Was it was it below
forty seven for them? Did they get to dip a
little bit? For those California kids, I don't know, but look,
Tigodas knocked out Cincinnati, so they're done.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
They don't move on. Uh, Columbus is going to I
believe they lost.
Speaker 6 (21:25):
To LAFC on aggregate, but they won the game last night,
if I'm correct, I believe it's wrong, but I believe
Columbus won the game, but I believe the aggregate is
still two four, so I think they're done. And then
cruz Azul took out the Seattle Souths, so it's a
little bit of a topsy turvy with the Country Cap
(21:46):
champions cuff. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this,
especially because it's the beginning of the Union of the
MLS season in comparison to a lot of these other
teams are in the swing. But on the flip side,
when you get faults like Vancouver doing to Monterey in
time and probably should have won that game frankly, and
you know a lot of the other MLS clubs still
(22:08):
playing well, that throws my argument out of the window.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
But good.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
I love that.
Speaker 6 (22:13):
I can't wait for the Union to be back in
the competition, maybe sooner rather than later, but I'm very
happy to be back in the Open Cup.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
Of yeah, the Open Cups.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
I don't you know what. I don't know when that's
coming on. But talking about US soccer, US men's national team,
they named the roster notable well, McKenzie was on off,
A trustee was on Stephan who I still consider a
somewhat product from the Union academy. But no Aronson's now
(22:48):
Paunch said that wasn't Aronson's lack of playing and everything.
They just have seen him a lot. They wanted to
see other people. So I don't know if there's a
lot to look into that. But yeah, the Union, I
mean the Union, the US. I'm Panama on March twentieth,
I think, yeah, yeah, so that starts up, so we'll
have to keep an eye out for for that. Any
(23:10):
thoughts on the US men's national team coming in guys,
just for the final tune up before really getting into
the World.
Speaker 7 (23:16):
Cup, I mean not ready for me. It's just what
those are friendly. It still so far away. He staysting
some stuff. You play Panama. You know it's okay, you know,
let's say seeing but it's not crazy good as well,
So I think it just for him to, like you said,
you also, guys, give a chance and you know, Bobby,
(23:39):
you see more. Let's there bye, and of next years, yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Adam, any any thoughts and then we're gonna we're gonna
preview this upcoming game.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
I mean, frankly, it's it's whatever, you know. I mean,
I I hope they figure out the core.
Speaker 6 (23:57):
I hope they know who's ready for next year, because
again it is next year the biggest World Cup of
this country's entire existence.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
So I hope they're ready.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
I have, you know, Panama, and again no disrespect to Panama,
They've qualified for World Cups.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
There's a good chance they were qualify for this one
as well.
Speaker 6 (24:17):
But I gotta we gotta bring a higher caliber of
opponent in here sooner rather than later, because they've got.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
To get tested.
Speaker 6 (24:25):
They have to actually get tested because they don't have
to qualify. That that's the that's the part that almost
annoys me, because the US national team doesn't have to qualify,
therefore doesn't have to.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
Sweat as much to get into this tournament.
Speaker 6 (24:41):
And sometimes it works out for you, France can tell
you themselves, and sometimes not having to qualify for your
own World Cup at home isn't the worst thing in
the universe, you know, it sometimes helps, but legitimately it's
one of these things where I'm like, I hope they're.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Good, Like I hope they're ready. You kind of know
who the core of these guys are.
Speaker 6 (25:00):
I'm still not sure who the bleeping goalie is, which
is a concerning thing to me to be honest with here.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
But outside of that, I don't think anyone knows who
the goalie is. But we're gonna and that's why you
play these games, and we're gonna see.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
You know that.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
That's That's just the way it is.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Now.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
The last thing on World Cup news apparently Philadelphia World
Cup released their song today. I saw it on Fox
twenty nine. It's on Spotify. I haven't gotten into it.
I was sot a little groggy watching it. Adam, did
you see this thing or heard about it? Or DJ
Jazzy Jeff produced it? Though? So it can't be all bad.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Here's the thing kind of a banger, okay, Lie. At
the same time, why I.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Think every city does it, and it's supposed to lead
into every broadcast coming from Philadelphia that music will be
what you hear. That's that's what I heard.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
But as as a person who loves details and Easter
eggs and all that. That's really cool. Honestly, it's cool.
The song's not bad. Jazzy Jeff wasn't gonna let us down,
especially on a global scale. I like it.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
I look, it's the same way I feel about the
MLS anthem that we got Hans Zimmer to do that.
I'm like, great, But also he wasn't busy doing anything
else on the planet.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
I just want to hear the other city songs, like
what is Kansas City? What is Dallas? How bad will
this be? You know that that's kind of like Houston?
Is that going to just be that terrible Houston.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
Rapped? Whatever?
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Though you know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 6 (26:30):
When you're talking about his chopped and screwed music. And
here's the thing, it would be hilarious if they had
Paul Wall doing the audio for like, here's the thing.
You think La is not gonna do Kendrick all the time?
Speaker 3 (26:44):
I then happy to be.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Yeah, But that's our World Cup National team news. But
let's get into it, guys. We've got some excitement coming
on Sunday afternoon. It's finally an afternoon game. Looking at
the weather, it's going to be sixty eight degree and
the bad weather is coming later in the afternoon. According
to weather dot com cely Tinen Fox everybody else, it
(27:09):
looks like it's going to be a beautiful, windy day
for sixteen degrees on a Sunday. We've got Nashville coming
that more important, Adams, Joey Chestnuts bringing the dollar dogs.
We got the dollar dogs coming in. Like I said,
I'm good for three to five dollars worth of dollar
dogs just for myself, not even giving them out to anybody,
you know. So and Adam, are you able to make
(27:31):
it for Dollar Dog Day? I mean, you gotta be
on a budget with the bag. You got to a
dollar and get.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
Slextra food, you know.
Speaker 6 (27:40):
But the fact of the matter that my son is
only I want to say eight date. Note let we
have the house map for five days old. At this point,
I think trying to go to a soccer game when
he's only ten days old might be a hard sell.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
But but if I bring back four or five dollars day,
that's right, That's what I'm thinking. You're hunting, gathering, you're providing.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
So I don't know. Dollar Dog Day, all right, guys, Nashville.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
VJ.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Callahan Becker's own coming back to Delco. Uh say, I
believe he was at Delco sc coach for a while.
He's bringing the Nationville squad, which Nashville's ranked twenty second
twenty third in the Power rankings, and the Union are
number two in both rankings. I've seen gold dot com
and MLS dot com. Uh, Nashville defeat important to them,
(28:40):
but they're one one in one, one win, one lost,
one tie. They tied New England, they lost to nothing
of red Bill. I don't know what this Nationville team is,
and I'm hoping one of you guys can tell me
what we're gonna see out there with Nashville coming in
because I don't know if they haven't identity yet, you know,
but they they but they did outshoot Portland twenty three
(29:03):
to nine, and I think that includes missing two penalty kicks.
So I don't know what this team is that's coming
in here. So I think I'm going to go right
to smashal too. Saba, what are we looking at with
this team?
Speaker 4 (29:16):
Will have for me?
Speaker 7 (29:17):
You know, you looking at a team is good. You
know it can be a pain. You know, they can
like don't really play sometimes and score on you. They
can sometimes be crazy offensive and you know, create a
lot of chances. So Severn a lot of good players.
But I think, you know, with the being of the season,
it's always hard to judge. But you know, the time
they didn't have a very good season last year, they
(29:38):
want to kind of reading themselves start in a right foot.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
They come on a good win at home, and I think,
for me, what's a bit defend on this game too.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
It's like we play Sundays a bit define time for
the for the guys to play at two pm in
a two thirty pm when the kickoff is so it's
kind of all of those little details you orfully the
weather will be descent for that game and we can
have a great I think matchup.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
You could be a very fun game.
Speaker 7 (30:06):
You could be you know, a dead block, you know
off Nashfield, try to just maybe you get a point
and maybe don't want to play so we will say,
you know, but I think if we keep playing the
same way, it should be an exciting game.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Yeah, Adam, what are your thoughts on this Nationville squad.
We've got three names of tape.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
On them, you know, I think it's Nashville is interesting.
Speaker 6 (30:30):
This season in a lot of ways, that MLS is
interesting in a lot of ways that the Union to
being on the top of the standings in MLS right
now is interesting. So I look again, as much as
I want to now establish at the Union or contenders
for the for the Supporter Shield, and that for the
rest of the season, we should be considered, you know,
favorites in all of our matches. We're not quite there yet.
(30:54):
So I'm not gonna take this National Game lightly. You know,
there are a couple of wins away from being directly
behind us in the standings, and that's the you know,
the Jumbalaya of the beginning of the season. That being said,
what I think is the most encouraging aspect of the
(31:14):
Union recently is the fact that they're able to play
this well on the road, you know, going into an
area like Orlando, which is historically not the easiest place
to play in and getting that result, going into New England, which, yes,
New England's not as good this year, but doing that
in the Coal Curve, and that's in those kind of conditions,
(31:36):
you know, that's good.
Speaker 4 (31:40):
That and the Union used to make super.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
So for me, I put my money on the Union
to perform and do well, especially if the weather holds
down and actually has a decent game that the start.
But again mls any of it, you know, Sunday, Monday,
Tunes Day or whatever they could, they could definitely follow
(32:05):
in that UH has enough talent take the Union out.
So it's one of those kinds of inituations. Again, betting man,
I'm playing on Monday in the Union. But you know,
logically this could be an interesting.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
I think it's gonna be an interesting game. Just the
way National has been playing. They do try to hold
him the ball, they try to create with our offense
and and their they're four point two million dollar transfer
free acquisition. I med quassam am I saying that right,
Uh Swedish. Yeah, he got his first start and first
(32:39):
goal versus Portland, So I mean, I think with him
coming in and getting comfortable and then you got Muktar
and other guys, National's offense isn't something to sneeze at.
So I'm gonna it's gonna be a test I think
for our defense and for the style that we play
if if we're gonna be able to take possession away
from them and have a high press. So I don't know, guys,
do we have any predictions for this game, like goal predictions, anything.
(33:05):
Nobody wants to go out on that limb.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
So we can go Seba.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
What what? What do you think the result will be
of this game?
Speaker 3 (33:19):
Saba?
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Like?
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Score wise, I think we lost to Madam. Well, Adam,
I'm thinking it's it's gonna be a two to one game,
Union favorite.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
What about you?
Speaker 4 (33:33):
I'm thinking the game is gonna be three one Union.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
You know.
Speaker 6 (33:39):
I think maybe Tye continues his run of just finding
the net whenever he finds himself on the pitch, and
I you know, I'm feeling I am feeling a goal
from Quinn Sullivan. I think he's he's he's hunting, he's
he's primed, he's been setting everybody up.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
I think he's he.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Has been putting the work in, so he would definitely
deserve getting a goal. Well, I tell you what, Adam.
The only thing I think I have left is we
want to make sure everybody knows Seba's camps are coming
up in the summer wild Woodcrest, so check it out online.
We'll get more information on our socials about that to
share with you. Because I think we lost Seb. I
think he dropped off, and then Adam, any any news,
(34:24):
any news whatsoever on the frisbee team.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
Do you know on maternity leave? Oh?
Speaker 2 (34:30):
Well, then no news on the frisbee team.
Speaker 6 (34:32):
So that's no, no, no, I mean holifically, horrifically, you're responsible,
I don't say anything. Yes, start of the season is
coming up very very shortly. We will be playing our
first match at Newman on I believe May the eighth.
If I do not have my calendar directly in front
of me, which I should, and that will be sorry,
(34:56):
maybe ninth ninth.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
Will be So you're sleep deprived, we understand again, I.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
Am literally internally, but May the night.
Speaker 6 (35:02):
And fun fact, our jerseys are coming out on my birthday,
March twenty fifth. I designed these jerseys by myself from scratch.
I think they're the best in the league because obviously
I made them, but all ultimately, I put a lot
of pressure and passion into this. So I'm really excited
for them. And yeah, just come out and see the
(35:25):
frisbee team or down the street.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Sebastian and I cannot wait for our unboxing opportunity when
you mail us a nice box with our jerseys with
our names I'll even send you. My last name is
spelled out, so you get it right. I know them,
We're good for that. But yeah, so please everyone, thanks
again for tuning in. It was a little windy on
Seba's side. I understand, but this was episode number twenty
(35:48):
nine excess than you and we've got Nashville coming up,
so I hope we see everybody at Subaru Park on
Sunday two pm. If you get there early, come look
for me at the plaza. We're going to talk about
the nation phild trip. All right, everyone, thanks so much,
and uh go Union go you.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
Mmm, well that was the thing.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Yeah, that was.
Speaker 6 (36:22):
I promise that I am able to come in studio
next week. Next week, I'm in La damn it. I'm
still coming in studio, Prace, don't worry.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
We should, we should.
Speaker 6 (36:32):
I'm going in regardless. I have not eaten in so long.
I went to Middle Child today because I like myself.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
And that sandwich. It is my favorite turkey sandwich in
the city by a country not.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
I haven't haven't gone yet.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
It's so weird.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Years oh, I know just.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
What it is.
Speaker 2 (37:02):
Walk for you.
Speaker 4 (37:04):
It was when I lived on South Street. Now it's
a bit further.
Speaker 6 (37:07):
But since we had the kid at Jefferson, I've just
been in the gighborhood for the past like six consecutive days.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
But yeah, no, the.
Speaker 6 (37:16):
The kicker is arugula. It set a lettuce, which I love.
And then Duke's Mayo happens to be that guy. I've
I'm a big Duke's Mayo guy. I think it's because
I'm from the Carolinas, but I'm a big Dukes guy,
and that it makes it an elite level sandwich.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
I've been I've been going a different route with a mayo. No,
I haven't bought the mic chef.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
I just I'm not against the mics. Oh do you
do the Japanese one.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
No, there's a Eastern, a Polish deli that I go
to in Port Richmond that is got mayo, and I
tell you what, it's that European no crap in it
kind of thing.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
So yeah, that's fair.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
I had to.
Speaker 6 (38:11):
I like that for you because the Polish you can
make a good a good mayo. You got onto the
Japanese mayo kick. Yeah, yeah, it's fantastic.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
I love it.
Speaker 6 (38:21):
It's my It's my favorite sandwich mayo and you can
get it at Costco and Bulk, which is very nice.
Speaker 4 (38:28):
And it's like in a nice squeeze bottle.
Speaker 7 (38:31):
You know.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
It's it's very easy to just get to. You just
put it on your sandwich. Is very nice, like a
dual wheeled.
Speaker 6 (38:39):
That mayo and then put the other side with the
Chick fil Ace sauce on a circy sandwich and I'm
going to Heaven really quicker than I probably should.
Speaker 4 (38:49):
But gonna be.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
Delicious going somewhere, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
Oh man, it's it's something
