Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ex president of the Sons of Ben Matt Fantastic ax
had Capo, Adam Booth, ex player and forever a Union
legend Sebastian Latou. These may be exes, but they're the
experts when it comes to the Philadelphia Union. This is
exes in the you.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Welcome back, everybody, Good afternoon. This is excess in the you.
This is episode number forty three, and we're gonna talk
about all kinds of things. Yes, Adam, we will get
to that too, but yeah, everybody. Well, greeting from San Francisco,
home of the San Jose earthquakes, so that's where I'm
coming from, and you guys are coming from the city

(00:43):
of brotherly love. So good to see you guys. Suba,
Adam Harry, I'll doing this week.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Doing great.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
It was a fun trip last weekend in nashvillro with
yourself and someo's a Union fan. Not the reason we wanted,
we're going to talk about it, but it was. It
was fant to be the.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Definitely, Adam, how's your week so far?

Speaker 5 (01:03):
Y'all looked fun.

Speaker 6 (01:04):
I was in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, following my wife
and my mother to every TJ max On the Eastern Seaboard.

Speaker 7 (01:12):
But other than that, you know, I had a good time.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
I mean, look, I.

Speaker 6 (01:15):
Kind of enjoyed the soccer game that happened in Nashville
until like the very last eventends of it.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
But what can you do?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Yeah, well, you get the max from the minimum. Why
don't we get into the Union versus Nashville while we're
at it, one oh loss, history being made, Cavin gets
his first start the Union. We're missing six players, and
that's a difficult environment in that stadium. That's my first
time in that stadium. And we'll get into that when
we talk about the trip. But yeah, we're missing Quinn Nate.

(01:45):
They were both with the US, and god I wish
they didn't do anything for the US, so we should
have kept them. And then you've got a Bueno, ian
Ura and Westfield are all injured. So but then again,
and I'll I'll get into Adam and then Seba. We're
up a man and how many times have we been
up a man and can't we can't pull anything apart.

(02:08):
So this game, we dropped from first to third in
the Eastern Conference, dropped out of the supporter shield lead.
But we're only I think two points behind Cincinnati. So
we're gonna see what's the result of this loss. But guys,
who wants to go first one? Nashville the game itself?

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (02:27):
Go? And uh, look I don't know.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
I mean, look, I'm not a person who believes in
true consistency the way that people like to talk about, like, oh,
a team hasn't won in eighty five years and therefore
like their curse or something. I'm like, no, because if
you it's it's like the conversation of if you change
all the parts of a ship, is it actually still

(02:53):
the same ship? Can you still call it the blank
if you've literally changed every aspect of it. Same thing
with rosters of sports franchises. If someone wasn't there in
twenty sixteen, can you blame them for the issues of
twenty sixteen?

Speaker 5 (03:05):
And I'm like, no, you cannot. This is just an
individual kind of situation.

Speaker 6 (03:10):
All of that being said, the union struggles with being
a man up or just kind of fascinating.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Honestly.

Speaker 6 (03:17):
The thing that really struck me not only the one
nothing score, because I think people don't really take into
account enough, especially in a second half yellow card, a
red card, how the team that's down to ten. Menu
can just bunker, you know, and they just create just
the defensive shell, especially at home, all things is considered,

(03:37):
it's actually not that easy to score on.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
A team in that position. You would assume it's a.

Speaker 6 (03:42):
Permanent power play, but when you change the tactics ad
more defenders, it's actually a little bit easier to defend.
And they won the way that most teams would win
in that situation, which is drawing a penalty, you know,
because it's not going to be probably from you know,
in player or just regular on field goal. So it's

(04:03):
it's the thing that really bugged me though, was the
fact that the Union only had one percent more possession
during the game, and you were up a man for
the better parts of a half hour, Like you only
had one more shot on goal than Nashville, again being
up for the better parts of a half hour.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
So it's not so.

Speaker 6 (04:22):
Much the result as much as it just didn't seem
like you took actually advantage of being a man up,
you know. It just it seemed at times it didn't
really change the Union's mentality offensively as much as it
changed Nashville defensively. And when you still have people who
can give it a go. In the last minutes of

(04:42):
a game, you get a last minute penalty smash and grab,
you you drop three points as opposed to probably getting
one point that was almost guaranteed.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, you know, I uh, it was
the other thinking like Adam, but you know, we all
know it was maybe be a tough road trip even
if we had like our full squad, but we didn't,
so we all know, you know, from the get code.
But yeah, definitely disappointing result because being a man up,
you were believing that, okay, can we push to get

(05:15):
the straight points and get a win against Nashville and
kind of pull us stairs on top of the standing.
But yeah, you can see that we're kind of like
lacking a lot of solution and creativity. In a final third,
he was kind of we were moving the ball kind
of slowly.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
I know, he was very hot, very humid. I'm sure
Matt cainson.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
We were there and it's not the best condition to play,
especially when you're away.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
But again, we were ten. We should have you know,
created more.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
We didn't, and it was kind of like my concern
at bit it's how can we, you know, create more
and have somebody who take responsibility offensively to to you know,
push more forward and get shot on goals that we
didn't really see. Besides, you know, I would say like
all the free kick and contact kick we have, it
wasn't less as the most dangerous player for us. But yeah,

(06:07):
the only question right now for for me is like
if we don't have all our starter, who can create,
who can be especially when you're away. It's kind of
like a great test, you know, for this team mid
season because we are going to need to win those
games in a playoff and it's gonna be against those
three teams, which be probably Cincinnati, probably Columbus and probably

(06:27):
Naville and know all those three ones, and we're gonna
of course put Miami as well in it. But you
know Miami is Miami's a bit different on the type
of game. But Nashville is a great defensive block and
they show it at ten, very hard to break down.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
So can you know we will be better at that?
That's good.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
We have you know, a couple of months to work
on that. But yeah, it was very disappointed because we
know and when you are ten against cinematican team like Lasgeville,
you should have minimum get the tie you know, it
was a minimum and at the end it was a
a mistake defensively, kind of falling asleep and of the game,
everybody's tired, everythinking that, oh you got it, I gotage,

(07:06):
you know, one mistake after another, and yeah, a piquet
to to finish. It's always like that, especially against the
team who play at ten.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
So yeah, he.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Was a disappointed, but I can tell you, like all
the guys, you know, we're very quiet, silence on the
on the plane back, and you know they know that
they should have done better. So it's the first time
we lost two games in a row this season. You know,
it may happen, but it's good it happened. I think
now to get everybody back, everybody focused, and I think
it's going.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
To happen for now the rest of the season.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Yeah. And by the way, Adam Subber actually called exactly
where that kind of the kick was going to go.
I was, I was there. He called it right up
the middle.

Speaker 7 (07:52):
It was as cheeky as it wanted to be.

Speaker 6 (07:54):
And I'm like, look, man, Henny is Henny you know guy,
the guy going to go down as one of the
better players who ever played in our league.

Speaker 7 (08:03):
For a good reason.

Speaker 6 (08:04):
You know, I'm already seeing his statue get commissioned in
Nashville as we speak, as it should be, you know.

Speaker 7 (08:11):
So.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
I mean, look, that's a tough one in every stretch
of the of the imagination. But everything supisid was correct too.
Dudes are on the third stretch of a very long,
very arduous road trip against three decently tough opponents. You
can tell, you say what you will about Chicago, but
Jack Elliott and them boys are not just gonna lay
down to you, per se. But that's the thing, and

(08:34):
I think what Sepisode was one hundred percent correct about.

Speaker 7 (08:37):
You have to figure about the creativity. What's going on
with his team.

Speaker 6 (08:42):
Is it just needing a ten, like an outright number
ten to fill the void of what you left with
Daniel Gazdag Is it getting more depth in that position?
Is it just getting Quinn Sullivan back into the fold.
These are a lot of questions we can figure out.
I think something that really should be addressed when the
transfer window opens up at the end of July here
we should at least look at something to add the

(09:04):
depths of this. And I hate to say this, but
we need to figure out this Chris Donovan situation because
he just does not bring enough to the team at
this stage to be a fourth striker on a team
that's going for a Major League Cup. I mean, it's
just our MLS Cup. It just it's not quite there

(09:25):
for him. And I don't think he's a bad soccer player.
I think if you send him to the USL he'd
probably tear it up down there. It's just something about
playing up here. It's just not clicking with him. And
if we're gonna be in a situation where Uda is
out for whatever time period he's out for, Tye gets

(09:45):
a knock and Bruno, all things considered, it's still getting acclimated,
if you will, in the time period it takes to
get into an MLS season. You need something that's a
little bit more consistently offensively, and Chris Donovan just has
not in several seasons at this point shown he could
be that guy.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Yeah, and you know, we're talking about missing guys Nate
and Frankie. If they were playing in Nashville, it might
have been a different result. That's all I'm gonna say
about that. But speaking of Nashville, we'll touch on the trip.
If anybody. I don't know if you're following on socials
and and everything, but we had a blast down there,

(10:25):
and I got to give my flowers to one mister
Sebastian Latwo because he gave so much access and hung
out at the roof. We had the rooftop party for
the fourth of July, which was crazy in itself.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Then we had the the he drug Dave, Leno and
Shane into the tailgate and where seven was given out
all kinds of swags. So that was great. And the
game itself, so luckily we had some tickets where we
could get in some air conditioning because it was hot
and seven. I were sitting outside watching it and people

(10:59):
kept coming in and out and I could feel the
air conditioning and I'm like, man, I think the second
half I might take a knee and watch it from inside.
But now, the trip all in all was great. I
want to thank the people that came out there as
well as everybody from Philly Sports Trips to make it happen.
And we're looking forward to another one and Adam, we're
willing it into the existence. Save the date October first,

(11:21):
Austin Austin advanced.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Yeah, you like taking like the cities out of the
eighth Circle of Hell for most of the calendar.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Sober first will be beautiful October first.

Speaker 6 (11:34):
October Vers, Texas till August in Massachusetts.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
No, it's going to be great. Don't worry. But speaking
of us Open Cup, let's talk about that great game
against Red Bull. Oh wait a second, it was rainbow. Yeah,
so Adam did you go? I know, Seba was there?
Were you in the rainstorm? You did not make it? No,
I was out of town, so I was in Chicago
at the time.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
I had to do my act other other job with
the Philadelphia PONX. We had practice up in Germantown. I
was originally the impression we were gonna have practice under
at Newman self indulgent moment, so I was gonna actually
come probably at halfway through the second half and just
kind of see the end of the game. But I
was up in Germantown, so I know I was never
gonna make it, and it wasn't Eve gonna make the attempt.

(12:19):
But once we canceled our practice, I had a strong
feeling Chester wasn't going to be a good time. And
I had friends who were down there and friends who
are now just getting into the union themselves, and they're like,
we'll be.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
Back, but y'all gotta figure out that parking lot.

Speaker 6 (12:35):
And I'm like, yeah, that's a that's a bit of
an issue. We still haven't figured it out in fifteen
years of being a franchise.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
But anyway, I mean, I heard it was rain of
biblical forest Gump type proportions. So I'm gonna let the
one person that was there tell us, suba, what was
it like for this match? I mean, did you just
think it was even gonna happen?

Speaker 4 (12:56):
I mean, I wasn't Bidieva because you can see the cloud,
you know, coming to a Chester and it was you
know when with the river how is divided in two side,
you know, like the black on one side and the
nice side in New Jersey, and I was like, come on,
go more, you know, towards north. But now he came
to us a team able to warm up, even com
on the field for the national anthem. But as soon

(13:17):
as it happened, you saw some lining and the referring
or call the team back in.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
But yeah, it could have been a second game.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
It could have been even maybe a swimming pool competition
because I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
The field was cover or water.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
I never saw like the entire field was just maybe
one or two inch on water on it. So yeah,
it was not possible. And if they play the game,
they will have to destroyed the film. So I think
he was smart to you know, postpone and on August thirteen, right,
so okay, you know, yeah, it just maybe give a
bit more rested to the team. But yeah, it was

(13:50):
kind of nice to see that.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
We had a lot of guys back.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
On that game, and I'm sure you know it's going
to be pretty much the same Standing eleven we are
going to see on Saturday again, Zaribo again.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Yeah I was. I was actually like, okay, they canceled it.
This is actually good. We get a little bit of rest.
There's time because everybody's like, why isn't it this week
or why isn't it next week? And there's a little
break in the schedule and we get red Bull and
then the next Open Cup matches until September anyhow so
why rush it and then play them back to back
and we'll get into we'll preview Red Bull in a

(14:23):
second Guys Club World Cup. It's heating up, Adam, look
at this. I mean, this is going to get interesting
within the pod. So Chelsea does win fourth of July,
Paris Saint Germain, PSG beats Munich Iron on July fifth,
and that's basically what we're gonna have is Chelsea versus PSG.

(14:48):
Is that the thirteenth? Yeah, Sunday, This Sunday in East Rutherford.
So Adam, we all know deep down Subah is a
PSG fan, deep down, so this might be pot on podcast.
I'm a look, look at a screen, Sebo. Mighty mighty Chelsea,
Mighty mighty Chelsea.

Speaker 6 (15:09):
I have both jerseys. It's a confliction of hearts. I
am a not as strongly a PSG fan, I'll safely
say that much because Chelsea actually predates my affection for
the Union. But I have been after my several trips
to Paris and my love of the French people, I've
adopted PhD as in one of my other clubs, and

(15:29):
I was very happy for their Champions League success. And
now I'm gently conflicted, or as the great Sean Connery
once said, I'm playing both charge so.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
Yeah, cool.

Speaker 7 (15:43):
Whoever wins is great, that's great, I love it. I
would prefer Chelsea gently Moore.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
But cool.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
You know, whatever club World Cup, it might be one
of the better matches up that I thought was going
to happen out of this. Maybe I'm biased because of Chelsea,
but we're gonna say, sub of your thoughts. Do you
think PSG can pull it off? I mean, this isn't
this isn't a you know, a league playing around.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
I think PHG has been the best team all year along.
You know, they bring craibles always. They play like, you know,
winning four zer against Real Madrid like command. It's you know,
he was already fraether after twenty minutes. I know, yes,
Ray Madrid maybe did mistakes or whatever, but you know
I did.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
I don't care.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
But it's just funny because you know, you have a
Miami losing, you know, for zero against PG as well,
and you have the latter and we talked and be like, oh, missie,
you know he's playing with the cones. You know he
doesn't have His teammates are in cements, they cannot move.
So I would like to know what he's going to
say about Real Madrid team, you know, and say, you
know what type of teammates I don't know, MS or

(16:46):
Instish junior because you know, I guess they're in cement
as well. It's it's just funny. You know, PG is
just above everybody. So his Verffern game is the final,
and I'm sure they're all exhausted. Playing in New York's
be hot, but yeah, it's it's fun.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
I'll be watching.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
I'm a thing out going, but I might probably I'm
being found by TV.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
That would be a fun game to go to. Coming
up soon August second, Frankfurt's coming to Union. The only
news I have. I think some Frankfort supporters might be
doing a little co tail gate with the sons of Ben,
but details are working out. I'm looking forward to that game.
I don't even know if I'm in town, so I'm
not sure, but yeah, get your get your free ticket

(17:27):
for the Union Frankfurt League News M Mels All Star
Game Speak a Seventh Ring of Hell Adam, July twenty
third in Austin, Texas. I'm like, yeah, I'll pass on
that one October first. I would do July twenty third. Nope,
And I guess let's get into it, Adam, you were right.
We were wrong. Doci Uno Mexico wins, but were wondering

(17:52):
when we outplayed, But was that a bad hit? Call
the handball? You tell me, adam Oh.

Speaker 6 (17:59):
I had a gentle discussion with a couple of people,
and a couple of people who I follow on social
media had some mixed reviews on the subject. Look, I
think that's a handball. I don't really know what else

(18:23):
it could be. Now it wasn't called a handball. And
I've lived long enough to know that I've been wrong
more times than I've probably been right in my life
about things. So there's probably some eighth rule in the
forty seventh bylaw of one part of the manual that
said just because he fell in that particular motion and

(18:44):
it was incidental contact, that doesn't qualify as a handball.
And okay, But I think the overall point is you
can't keep having this tournament in your own house in
making it difficult for yourself to actually win it.

Speaker 7 (19:04):
Like, first off, I really need them to stop making.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
It so easy for.

Speaker 6 (19:08):
The Mexican national team fans to just make it to
any of these matches in the first place, because I
know they're doing it for ticket sales, because if they
put it in Minnesota, no one's gonna go to this thing.
But like it just kind of takes away half of
the advantage you would have I hosted a tournament in
your own country to begin with. But that goes besides
the point that team is not supposed to be the
team that's gonna be here in twenty twenty six.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
That is my only saving.

Speaker 6 (19:32):
Grace, and I believe that there are plenty of people
from that team that you can take and put them
on a team for twenty twenty six and they will help.
I think Diego Luna has the heart of any American
who wants to suit up for the Badge. At this point,
if you don't want to play like Diego Luna, I
don't want you, you know. But outside, look Matt Freeze,

(19:54):
you're here. If they don't get you in the pool,
I'm shocked because at this point you've earned at least
a co conversation. You know, several other players I thoroughly enjoyed,
and look Polisic and Weston and all those guys, when
they come back, they're gonna be in'. That's how this goes.
But there is something wrong with the US Soccer Federation.

(20:17):
I don't think we are ready to have or no,
we should be ready to have this conversation. I don't
think we are because this should not be going the
way it should be. This should be a golden age,
this should be a golden moment. We should be on
the fast track. We should be hype right now, like
the United States fan base should be excited about the

(20:41):
team that they have going into the twenty twenty six
Gold World Cup. And I have to be honest with you,
Matt or even can I honestly ask you this question,
would you have been hype about this team even if
we won the game advanced Mexico.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
I was starting to get hype during the run up too,
but the wind came right out of my sales after
the scheme in Mexico, just watching the way they played,
how they were outplayed. You know, I didn't see a
lot of team because at first I thought they were
starting to gel a little bit. I didn't see that,
and I didn't see any kind of hustle. I didn't
really see any heart. So I was starting to get like, Okay,

(21:19):
maybe maybe punch Neats is doing something. Now I have
I don't have a lot of faith, but we're gonna
see It's gonna be like you said, it's gonna be
a totally different team, more different guys coming on, but
I don't know who is the who is the goalkeeper.

Speaker 7 (21:32):
But it's not gonna be a totally different team.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
Man. That's the fun part about this is because.

Speaker 6 (21:36):
Jedi is still gonna be there, Anthony and I mean,
like there's still elements of this. Richard's Adams, all those
guys are going to be there for the World Cup,
you would assume, because who's better than them on in
the United States right now? You can't point to anyone.
So there so a lot of these guys, and you're
just gonna add McKinny. You're gonna add Policic, You're gonna
add Turner, You're gonna add Way.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
And that's about it.

Speaker 6 (21:59):
That's the only thing you're gonna really add because at
this point you're not going to have a phenom come
out and be your number nine.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
At this point.

Speaker 6 (22:06):
No one's going to come out of the pool of
the US camp at this point that we don't know about.
You know, there's no Shockers, there's no you know, Josie
outdoor is not walking through that door, you know. So
we're at this point now where this is the team
that we have in a pool, and from that pool
we will find out who's going to be the eleven,

(22:28):
who starts in the eighteen and all of that. But
I just don't feel a confidence in any of these
people I've seen that they can leave this continent and
compete at a high level.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
And that's so disappointing.

Speaker 6 (22:41):
To me because much like my Belgian friends over there,
this should have been a golden era of US soccer.

Speaker 5 (22:46):
It was set up to be.

Speaker 8 (22:48):
They literally got a World Cup at home to have
your golden era displayed amongst your people at a time
period that they could watch, and this is what you
get them.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Seven. I'm gonna let you follow up your thoughts on
US Mexico and the hopes and dreams of US soccer
fans for World Cup twenty twenty six.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
I mean, it's it's gonna be a different team, but
you know, they got the you know final, I watch
the game started very well known when they were We're
like okay, and yeah, I think Mexico was was very
good too, and you know they got dominated, that's for sure, but.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Yeah, who knows. One year it's still you know, along
where it goes.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
A lot of things happened but I feel like the
motivation are going to be here because all the guys
who are not here, they know that, Okay, we have
a little cheap on our shud. I mean to show
you know, what we're all about. And they just need
for me to kind of find this team spirit. You
know that we don't see it yet because all the
guys who play in this tournament. He was pretty much
like not the first time, but for a lot of them,

(23:53):
like first time they're playing in a big competition, so
you need to know what is it. It's so difficult
to play you know, national team, play for your club
so and you howe the World Cup, so there's a
lot of pressure. But yeah, they definitely need to to
find their way. And like I say, it could happen
maybe a month before the World Cup. It could happen

(24:13):
you or you don't know, and it's what happened for friends.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
I going to the story.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
But in ninety eight, we had no expectations and we
are going to win it.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
You know, We're like, okay, we're in We're a good team.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
You know, let's try to get out of the group
stage and then we'll see.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
But we can saw that. Yeah, like they I feel,
I like with there.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
Like lots of documentary about it, and there's a very
good one name like Lesia Don't Blow, which is eyes
in the Blues and you can see really inside, you
can see like more the tournament goes, how much more
the player take conscience that the entire country is behind them,
and then you can see the just players their butt

(24:55):
stuff and play as a team, even if like when
at the end we have a what.

Speaker 5 (25:00):
His name.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
Or decay you got a red card or blow and
he's not playing in all the final and we have
Lobuff who has to play center back and play against
Ronaldo and they're all helping him and don't make sure
that he knows how to play.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
Against that guy.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
And uh, but it's uh, it's what it's all about.
So hopefully this team spirit will come to the US,
and like I said, you know, they need to have
a good group stage, and after the group stage, pretty
much anything can happen because in a moment, you know,
and with the support and the energy of the fan
and hopefully an entire country will stop and watch them play,

(25:38):
anything can happen. You never know, So yeah, hopefully I
just want to make sure, like for them. Everybody is
healthy and Pocatino and his stuff, you know, through the
the right mix of players to make it up.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
It's gonna be, as Adam you say, winning the off season,
it's gonna be a really weird off season for the
US men's now team. So we're going to see. Now,
speaking of weird, we got it coming up on Saturday, Adam,
your rival. Oh wait, they're not a rival, Red Bull
coming back to Chester. They're coming back down the Turnpike
for hopefully good weather and an ass whoopin Who's who

(26:15):
wants to go first? For the preview of we are
facing the eighth seed Red Bull who are eight seven
and six right now, So that that's what we're facing.
What are we thinking, who wants to take this one first?

Speaker 5 (26:28):
Don't sleep them, you know, don't sleep on it. It's
not a trap per se.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
But I mean, look, they're rivalry games or rivalry games,
and I think one of the things that the Union
have to prepare for now is they're going to get
a lot of teams' best shots.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
Like, yes, now they're in third place, but I think
a lot.

Speaker 6 (26:48):
Of the league views them as a measuring stick for
their own organizations.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
So I wouldn't take this off. I want to take
this lightly.

Speaker 6 (26:58):
I would appreciate the rest that you've got by not
having to play on Wednesday. And look, did they come
out and beat them for nothing? You know, or they
lose to one or anything like that. I don't think
my analysis changed. I just think, you know, right now,
it's it's about getting healthy again and playing consistent, you know,
soccer in a way where getting guys into the fray.

(27:21):
If you can get Bruno on the score sheet, let
him see the ball fly into the net a couple
of times. I think that'll help him a long way
to get acclimated to what we're doing here. But don't
sleep on Red Bull. But also know that you know,
at this point you should be able to, like you
have a very dominant streak over them historically over the
last couple of years, you should be able to get

(27:42):
three points.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
Right now, both of these things are true.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
Well, we should definitely get three points, especially after the
last two games. I think the guys are going to
be motivated, and I'll let sub get into it. I
think we're gonna get a lot of people back. Somebody
you doing the radio.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
Yeah, I'm doing theys.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
Dave.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
But yeah, it's kind of saying a shows that you
can see on Friday night at eleven.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
PM and Pitch seventeen.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
It's, you know something that the team, you know, first
time kind of.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
Losing two games. It was a long road trip.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
So I think Aboy is probably very happy to get
back home and get back to the basics. And I
think you should see a reaction from the guys. I
think you should see the same way as they want
to play, you know, aggressive, you know, winning the ball high,
try to score from the mistake of red bulls, you know,
my play out of the bag.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
But it's just what I want to say, you know,
I want to see.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
Kind of a you know, a lot of pushing forwards,
you know, opportunity in front of the net and try yet,
like you said, Diamene getting back on score shit with Balibo,
you know, Queen and Arion coming back hopefully help the
team as well on the right side, and just see
just see more inertion we saw maybe in the past
two games away. I know some guys were tired, but

(28:52):
it's you know, a great game to play against the
Red Books. You know, the little Derbey Red Boos are
going to have some fans. Red buoy is okay. Team
I thinks they just have two leaders with tu pomoting
and they are number ten.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Whats his name? Come they forgot the Swedish number ten.
Anybody who's going to come back, I just.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
Prefer a femius store. It really helps. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:17):
So like those two guys in a way kind of
carries the team a bit offensively. But then it's a
lot of young guys who works out. So can we
match up the intensity?

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Can we show that?

Speaker 4 (29:25):
Okay, we are back at home and you know, women
business and we just want to be you know, another
fund game Againstvable because one of the studies like, we're
undefeated at home since twenty nineteen.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Again, then it's been.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
A long time, and let's let's make COVID.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Let's keep it going, you know, it's I think it's
a great match to get back on track. We have
two home game them and then Montreal on Wednesday, so yeah,
let's let's get six points out of that.

Speaker 7 (29:53):
In the name you were looking for several was a
Meal Forsburg.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
His first name.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Yeah, Yeah, So I'm looking forward to this one. I
will probably be watching it on my iPad from San
Francisco International Airport. But I'll be cheering on and hopefully
they can get it on the plane. But yeah, I
looking forward to this game, get back to our winning ways,
get back to some home games, get back some guys healthy.

(30:20):
So looking forward to it. So yeah, let's let's wrap
this up, Saba. It coming up July twenty first, to
the twenty fourth your summer camp. How's everything looking.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
It's looking good. We have, you know, a little bit
of kids. We could have getten more. But it's gonna
be fun. I'm gonna be here. I'm gonna enjoy, you know,
make some connection with those kids, and you know, I
being fun, trying to make them progress and try to
share my love of the game.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
But yeah, be fun.

Speaker 4 (30:46):
What a great hopefully great week hopefully Senny. And you
know by the show, it's always fun. Yeah, and hopefully
you get some beach time. Adam, Yes, hotbirds.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Do you think? Well?

Speaker 6 (30:58):
They play tonight, so by probably in the time anyone
hears this, they've already played. We have two matchups this weekend,
once tonight at home versus the Boston Glory. This is
a team that is the best team in our division.
They've only lost once this year, so knocking them off
will go a long way for us to securing a

(31:18):
playoff spot. But the real matchup is this Sunday in
up in New York, which I believe it was originally
New Rochelle, but I believe we're in another suburb of
New York City right now this week, and that will
be basically to see who makes the playoffs two New
York and Philadelphia. Classic matchup, classic rivalry.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
So you don't go Hupbirds, go Hupbards. All right, everybody,
This was episode number forty three, wrapping up everything in
the Union Verse. It was a rough week, but we
will get through it because we get to face Red
Bull Go Union. Thanks guys, appreciate you both.
