Speaker 1 (00:05):
Blessings everyone. I hope you guys are having a wonderful
day in the Lord. I want to talk about a
little bit today about when we disagree with people or
you may not see eye to eye with someone. And
you know, one thing about Jesus was that even though
he did not like a lot of things that the
people were doing when he was out there preaching the gospel,
(00:25):
and he was rejected many times, Jesus still knew that
he had a work that had to be done. Amen.
And so this is very important to pay attention to
because a lot of times we don't always get along
with people, and we may not see eye to eye
and we may not understand. But God is saying still,
we have to understand that each man has to learn
on his own and it is his own walk. And
(00:46):
I think a lot of times we're too busy trying
to make people understand instead of just allowing them to
go on a walk that God has taken them on
if they do believe that they're on this walk for Christ. Now,
it's one thing to have someone who may not agree
with you and say that God isn't real, and we
all know that Jesus Christ is real, but at the
same time, God says, still you cannot hate that person.
(01:08):
You can hate their ways and not associate with them. Yes,
but God says, we still must love your enemies and
pray for those who persecute you. At the end of
the day, we know we're going to be rejected. Many
times were spread into Gospel, and you know you're going
to be rejected because you might agree differently than what
somebody else of you is. And then we also have
to face everything in life. Or we have people who
(01:29):
might live different lifestyles than what we live, and they
truly believe that they can do whatever they want to do.
And even though we know the truth, they may not agree.
But one thing I do know is that that does
not stop us from loving them. It reminds me also
of how God reminded me that even when you're in
a relationship with your husband or your wife, if they
do something to disappoint you, it doesn't mean you throw
them away and you get upset and you never talk
(01:50):
to them again. Know you're in a marriage now, you're one.
Even though you both believe in God, one may pursue
God more than the other. But just because one pursues
God more than and the other. Does not mean that
each person isn't on their supposed walk. You understand, everybody's
time is different, and I think that's what a lot
of people have to understand. Just because you may not
see the results right away does not mean that something
(02:12):
is not working. You see, when you look at the
disciples who walk with Jesus, they weren't all the same.
They didn't all think alike, they didn't all come from
the same background, and many of them had different understandings
about life, faith, or even about who Jesus really was,
at least in the beginning. We can say that because
we saw a lot of issues with a lot of
(02:34):
the disciples. They even grumbled among themselves about who was
the best among them, who Jesus loved the most, who
was closest to them, you understand, Yet despite their differences,
they all walked with him. He chose them because the
goal wasn't for them to show up already having the
answers to every single thing and to know everything. No,
(02:55):
it was to discover the truth along the way. But remember,
even if your husband or your wife isn't reading the
way you want them to, even if they're not pursuing
God the way you think they should pursue God. Even
if your children are not following every single rule that
you put out there because God said so, because you
get it and they don't. Don't be so hard. God
always told me, be gentle with your heart. Don't be
(03:16):
so hard on yourself. There are some things that just
had to take place for him to be who he is.
God could have very well said, you know what, I'm
not gonna take this cross. I'm not gonna save everybody's life.
I'm just gonna go straight to the Father. But he
knew that his father required that things be done in order,
and if they weren't, and if this sad event didn't happen,
then we wouldn't have an opportunity to be saved. Remember
(03:40):
what Jesus said in John fourteen six, I am the Way,
the Truth, and the life. No one comes to the
Father except for me. So when they walked with him,
they were literally walking with the Truth himself. And in
that walk things begun to get revealed to them that
they could not understand or they never understood for And
(04:01):
the thing about it is, it wasn't the fact that
they will never understand it. God says you will understand
one day, but maybe today is not the day for
that person that you want so badly to understand what
you're trying to get understand. And sometimes God is saying,
this walk is a walk that you must take alone.
A lot of people think that everybody must come with
you when you discover this new walk, and it's everybody's
just gonna be in line with what you have just
(04:22):
because you discover something you know. This walk is a
lonely walk. God says, you gotta take this walk alone. Mama, daddy's, sister, brother,
nobody's gonna be able to take this walk with you. You
gotta take it on your own because there's a lot
of things about you you may not know that you
need fixing on. That You may feel like you're perfect
right now because you found him, but believe me, when
God finds you, this is just only the beginning. He's
(04:42):
gonna show you a lot about yourself you did not know.
You may feel like you have it all together, but
I promise you, the more that you're honored with God,
the more that you open up with God, the more
that you ask Him to show you things about yourself,
the more that you're real with him to let him
know you don't have it figured it all out, and
that you do need him more than you know. Then
you will realize that there's a lot more wrong with
you you knew, and so therefore you don't really have
time to worry about anybody else. You got to worry
(05:04):
about yourself. Amen. So I know sometimes the words that
I give are very harsh, but I do know that
there's a time and place for everything, and I give
only what God tells me to give. But just understand
that even though you may not like what you're hearing,
God says pain brings healing. I've never seen a person
(05:24):
who broke the leg and a doctor didn't tell them
to lay in the bed to make sure that they
healed properly. Because if you kept walking on a hurt leg,
you were going to be something messed up. You hear me,
You may not be able to do anything later on
in your life. You're ruining everything for yourself. But you
have to rest to heal. You have to rest in
God to know the truth. You have to rest in
Him so that He can restore you. Because just because
(05:46):
you feel like something is not wrong with you doesn't
mean that it isn't. One thing that I realized with
God is that he doesn't care how a man comes
to him. It's about them finding him. In the end,
God says, I don't care about how you came. That's
why he does say, come as you are. Literally, come
as you are, broken, laying, confused, a sinner, someone who
(06:09):
doesn't have it altogether. Come as you are, so that
you truly can discover who I am. We can't change people,
but we can lead them to Christ and God can
do all things. So we know that eventually that battle,
if God sees it that person's heart is right, they're
gonna lose with God. If they're gonna keep trying to
fight against them, He's gonna say, no, I have the
(06:30):
last word. It's gonna be my way if you really
want me, And if they really do, they'll show up
for him every single time. So it's not up to
you to worry so much about your husband, or your
children or your family members. If they really want him,
they will have him. You don't lose sleep over that.
That is not your job. That is God's job. But
(06:50):
God does say that he wants us to stay and
remain in his word, to be faithful to whatever he
has told us to always know that he loves us
so that we can do the best that we can
for him. And when you strive to do the best
that you can, you continue to preach the word of God,
you continue to be faithful to his word, you continue
to remain in him. The beautiful things that can come
out of that. So don't worry about who's not and
(07:15):
who is, because truly it is a walk. The disciples
had a walk. Each of those disciples had issues. God
had to deal with them one on one. Some loved
a little bit deeper than the other because they had
not discovered who he was. Yet some knew right away.
Peter knew, and he said to Jesus, I know you
are the Messiah. I know. But yet Peter still struggled
(07:40):
to believe in himself when he had Jesus right there
with him, when Jesus told him you can do this.
And he also had a problem with not really truly
understanding what Jesus meant on a lot of things that
he said. But he had a heart. He had a
heart to want to do right. So even when Peter
denied him three times, Peter still kept going. He still
(08:04):
kept going because he had a heart that wanted to
be the best he could for Jesus. He wanted to
show up for him in a way that he could
prove his love to him. And God is saying, as
long as you can just show up for me and
let your heart keep proving over and over again that
you love me, then God is gonna always be there
to answer every single thing that you need. And I
(08:26):
think that's the work for us today. Every walk is
not the same, so we can't worry about who's not
where they need to be at this moment because we're
not God. Sometimes we get caught up in disagreements, theological debates,
or even judging someone based off the walk that they
have with the Lord. But that is their walk. But
even the disciples who stood shoulder to shoulder of Jesus,
(08:47):
I have to keep reminding you, guys, they didn't have
it all figured out from day to day. Some were
tax collectors. Some people he talked to were prostitutes. He
loved the sinners too, you know, Jesus talked with the
sinners because the sinners knew they need doctor. They didn't
have it all figured out, but he ate with them.
He drank with them. Some of the disciples he had
were fishermen, you know, they had regular careers and probably
(09:11):
didn't know a lot of the things that Jesus was
talking about because Jesus was so smart, he was perfect.
But they were all seeking the same thing. At the
end of the day, everybody who encountered Jesus, they came
to him because they knew that he was able to
do what he could do. They understood that to grow
they needed to listen to everything. He taught them how
(09:32):
to pray, how to walk, and that eventually made their
relationship a lot closer with him, and Pover reminds us
of his growth process too in Philippians wine and six.
Being confident of this very thing, that he who has
begun a good work in you will complete it until
the day of Jesus Christ. That means that the work
isn't done overnight. A lot of people think, because you
(09:54):
find God and because you're on this new walk, that
everything's going to be easy, and oh, I'm healed and
I'm fixed, everything's perfect. I'm not gonna have any problems.
There's gonna be nothing, and the enemy's not gonna bother
me anymore. That's not true. You will have issues, you
will have problems. The enemy is gonna pursue you even
harder because he knows you're trying to be better than
you were before. And that means that the work isn't
done overnight. It's a journey, a process of discovery. Because
(10:20):
Jesus Christ is unlimited. His mind is brilliant. It's something
that you will never understand fully. His ways. You will
never understand his ways fully. He is just remarkable. He
is the I am. You know, he is the one,
the only, the beginning, the end. You will never understand
his ways because he is so magnificent and all that
(10:40):
cannot possibly be understood by our little minds. That's why
he says, whatever you need, just call unto me. I
will give you what you ask. You can always trust
in me. With me, you are safe, your heart is safe.
I will never leave you or forsake you. I will
always be there for you to the very end. That
is the beauty of the walk of God. Because God
(11:02):
didn't tell us that everything was going to be perfect.
And God didn't call the disciples because they were perfect
either or because they had identical beliefs. He called them
because he knew that through the walk that they would
have with him, the truth would be revealed. Remember John
sixteen thirteen. Jesus told the disciples, but when he the
(11:26):
Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.
So even then Jesus knew they didn't have it all
together yet, but he promised that the spirit will reveal
it to them, and he did when Jesus rose from
the dead, and he presented hisself to a few at
the tomb, and they ran and told the others. Jesus
(11:47):
let them know I did exactly what I said, And
I'm promising you that you will be able to be
in paradise with me. Just continue to do the work
of the Lord. Ooh, ooh, you
