As a new year approaches, it’s easy to feel weighed down by doubt, fear, and uncertainty about what lies ahead. Yet Scripture calls believers to live differently—to walk by faith, not by sight. In 2 Corinthians 5:7, Paul reminds us that faith means trusting God beyond what we can see or understand. While circumstances may feel overwhelming, God is present, faithful, and actively working in our lives. This new year invites us to shift our focus from fear to faith, holding firmly to God’s promises and trusting Him to guide every step forward.

Main Takeaways

  • You’ll learn what it truly means to walk by faith rather than by sight.

  • Discover how focusing on the unseen strengthens trust in God during uncertain seasons.

  • Understand why faith grows as we obey God and step forward despite doubt.

  • Reflect on how God’s promises bring hope and direction for the new year.

  • Be encouraged to face the future with confidence, knowing God is for you and with you.

Your Daily Prayer

Dear God, help me walk by faith and not by sight as I step into this new year. Forgive me for the times I have focused more on fear than on Your promises. Teach me to trust You even when the path ahead is unclear. Strengthen my faith, guide my steps, and help me grow more into the likeness of Your Son. I place my hope in You, knowing You are good, faithful, and always with me.
Amen.

what is going on in your life today, you can

    (00:24):
trust that God wants to hear from you. Right after
this short word from our sponsor, you will pray through
today's prayer to walk by faith in the New Year. Together.

    (00:52):
A prayer to Walk by Faith in the New Year,
written by Vivian Bricker, read by Kerrie Eichberger. For we
live by faith not by sight, Second Corinthians, Verse seven.
As the new year approaches, I'm reminded of my doubts
and insecurities. I fear that the upcoming year will be

    (01:17):
filled with troubles and devoid of hope. I'm challenging myself
to change my perspective on life. Rather than thinking in
a negative way of this upcoming year, I'm choosing to
boldly step out in faith. I want to live by faith,
not by sight. The words Paul says here still apply
to us in modern day. We need to focus on

    (01:39):
our future in Heaven with Jesus rather than our present struggles.
Living by faith and not by sight challenges us to
look to the spiritual instead of the physical. If we
live by sight, we will constantly be doubting God because
we will never physically see him. You will only see

    (02:00):
the evil that is so prevalent around us. This is
why we must walk by faith, as faith as being
sure of what is unseen. We will not see God
in our physical lives, yet He is still all around
us in this upcoming year. He will be with us
every step of the way. Never doubt his presence in

    (02:20):
your life. We can walk by faith by stepping out
in bravery, obeying God and trusting Him even when we
are overcome with doubt. Faith can be a tricky discipline
to cultivate, yet it is one we must learn as believers.
The more we trust in God, the greater our faith

    (02:40):
will become. Hold on to the promises of God even
if you don't see them being fulfilled. Yet there will
come a day when all God's promises will be revealed
in your life. On this day you will see light.
Truly claim victory over the darkness in your life. Live
your life to the fullest because you know God is

    (03:04):
your safety net. He will guide you as you walk
through this new year and ensure your feet are kept
on steady ground. God is good and He has wonderful
plans for you. In this upcoming year. God may open
the door for you to start a new career, meet
a new friend, or learn a new skillness year, we

    (03:25):
never need to doubt what God can do in our lives.
Ephesians three twenty and twenty one says, Now to him
who is able to do immeasurably more than all we
ask or imagine, according to His power that is at
work within us, to him be glory in the Church
and in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

    (03:50):
For this reason, keep pushing forward. God is for you
and never against you. God will be with you as
you face this upcoming year. Do not be afraid or
worry about what could happen. Instead, choose to step out
in faith and trust that the Lord will be your parachute.

    (04:11):
Let's pray, Dear God, help me to walk by faith
and not by sight. I fear I have discredited you
far too many times. In walking by sight rather than
walking by faith, I tend to focus only on what
I can see, and this does a great disservice to you.

    (04:32):
Please forgive me and help me to always look to
you this upcoming year and every year to come. Focusing
too much on what I can see will cause me
to fear. Help me look to you, God. You are
my good, good Father, and I know you will watch
over me this upcoming year. Help it to be a

    (04:53):
wonderful year and the year in which I grow more
in the image of your Son. Give you all the
praise God, Amen. Your Daily Prayer is a production of
