(00:19):
Hello, I'm Joey Haskins, andwelcome back to youo've Never Seen,
in which I showcase a movieyou've probably never seen before.
Next week is another milestoneepisode, and you know what that means.
This week is another top 10list as we look at another 10 films
I have never seen.
And as I make these lists, I'meven shocked that there's still some
big films I've yet to watch.

(00:41):
But let's look at the listitself, starting with number 10,
Friday the 13th.
And when I mean Friday the13th, I mean none of them.
The story of the Voorheesfamily has long eluded me.
I never really know where tostart with these films, and since
there are so many, I don'tknow if I could take all of them.
And as I learned in researchfor next week's episode, I can't

(01:02):
watch so many movies of thesame thing at once.
It's quite exhausting.
I'm sure I'll watch themeventually, but it is only one of
few horror franchises I'veseen no movies for.
Number nine, the Princess Diaries.
In the filmography of AnneHathaway, no film has really gained
her the public notoriety quitelike the Princess Diaries did.

(01:23):
And hey, to go from get realto starring alongside Julie Andrews
is an impressive step.
It's also one of those Disneyfilms that most children grew up
on, but I never heard of untilI was in my teens.
And with news of a third filmcoming soon, I'll probably watch
both films to prepare for it.
Even if the second one is asbad as everyone says it is.
All About Eve I suppose thatthe fact that we talked about Bette

(01:47):
Davis last week would onlylead to me talking about the role
that made her career, nomatter how later in life it was.
And of all the times Betty wasclose to winning her third Oscar,
this is definitely the mostcontroversial as the year she was
nominated.
She tied with Gloria Swanson, who was trying to win her first Oscar
for Sunset Boulevard.
The reason it's controversial, though, is that because they tied,

(02:09):
it didn't go to both of them.
It went to the third choice,Judy Holiday, for Born Yesterday.
On top of that, it's a filmlauded for its screenplay performances
and introduction to a young upand coming actress named Marilyn
Monroe.
All About Eve is one that's onmy list to watch.
Number seven, Chinatown.
If you remember, in myprevious list I mentioned the Towering

(02:30):
Inferno was the film I'mholding out on to see in theaters.
Chinatown was also like that, despite the reputation of its director
who was a whole can of worms Idon't want to open right now.
Chinatown is lauded by many asa great neo noir film, along with
a script written by renownedscreenwriter Robert Towne and one
of the best Jack Nicholson performances.

(02:51):
This film is one that isgreatly cited as one of the best
films of all time.
Stand By Me in a similar veinto Chinatown, I'm kind of holding
out to read the book on this one.
Stephen King is a writer whogreatly interests me.
I've only read three of hisbooks, but my father has been a big
fan of his for years.
Stand By Me, though, is a filmthat has some of the earliest roles

(03:13):
of Wil Wheaton, Corey Feldman,River Phoenix, Jerry O'Connell and
Kiefer Sutherland for animportant film that made so many
careers.
I do want to watch it, but Idon't mind waiting it out a bit.
Number five Nightmare on ElmStreet Another horror franchise I've
seen no films for.
Freddy Krueger's Crusades intoPeople's Minds is a series that I'm

(03:33):
more interested in than Fridaythe 13th, only because I have this
strange feeling that theseries will make a comeback soon.
I mean, considering we've hadrevisits to the Halloween Saw, Texas
Chainsaw Massacre and Screamfranchises recently, I feel like
one for both.
Nightmare on Elm street andFriday the 13th is a little overdue.
Maybe something like Prey orPrometheus that reinvents the franchise

(03:55):
in a new way would work.
Then I'd have some incentiveto watch one of the films in this
franchise, Interstellar, whatmany have called Christopher Nolan's
best film.
I'm a little worried to watch.
Nolan is the kind of directorwho likes to show off what he can
do, and my impression of thefootage of Interstellar that I've

(04:15):
seen is that he might show offa little too much, and I don't know
if his step into sci fi willhave him show off or if it will show
his lack of enthusiasm forthis genre.
Maybe I'm wrong, but who knows?
Many have said that it's goodand worth the watch, but maybe it's
another film that might begood to hold off to watch in theaters.
We'll see what happens though.

(04:36):
Number three the BeforeTrilogy A friend of mine in college
had always praised these filmsas long as I've known him.
I never heard of them beforethat time, but since then many have
called these films some of thebest ever made.
It's certainly an impressivetrilogy that focuses on the love
between two people that spansover 20 years.
There's a Criterion Collectionof the trilogy and I'm planning on

(04:57):
getting it.
So I'll watch it then.
Number two, a Christmas Story.
Probably one of the mosticonic, if not the most iconic Christmas
film of all time, had been onethat many have told me is great,
but I've never watched duringthe holidays.
I have this tradition ofwatching a certain amount of movies
on Christmas time.
My family always watchedChristmas vacation on that day.

(05:18):
Heck, we still do.
But Christmas Story is a filmthat, although I've seen many scenes
from and know many quotes, Ican't imagine watching this Christmas
or anytime soon.
Number one, Godzilla.
Ironic, isn't it, that just afew weeks ago I did a Godzilla film,
yet I have never seen theoriginal one that started at all.
I know much of the film, including its themes and content,

(05:40):
but I'm curious to see what Ithink once I watch it, which might
be sometime soon.
I do own two separate copiesof the film, and that'd give me some
incentive to watch it.
Admittedly, the only filmsfrom the previous list that I have
seen now are Rear Window andSpartacus, and with a new remaster
of Godzilla coming this month,it may be sooner rather than later.

(06:01):
How's that for some films I'venever seen?
Some controversial picks, I'd say.
But the controversy doesn'tstop here.
Next week you'll be getting aton of them as we take on the films
of a particular franchise.
Join me next week as we lookat the amazing, the spectacular,
the sad and exhausting worldof the Webhead with Weston Media

(06:23):
Center.
I'm Joey Haskins, and I'll seeyou all next time.
