Speaker 1 (00:08):
Good morning, Lexington. You're lista Welcome Home show by Guardian
Savings Bank. I'm Larry Frike's got my buddy Jim Woodrom
in here with me this Saturday morning as my general partner.
Mister Tim Adams Pinky, as a majority of the population
knows him, Paint is on vacation with his wife and
family down in Florida. Well deserved down there on Santa
Marie Island or somewhere. I don't have any I did
(00:29):
that number saying in his eye somewhere. Anyhow, we will
throw a shout at it and he'll catch us on
iHeartRadio listening to the show. So Pinky, we miss your brother.
I got Woody in here covering for you. We're opening
to day from nine to one. But numbers eight five nine,
eight nine, nine one nine three six south and drives
eight five nine two six three three three three five.
So if you can hear, she can call us. Market
(00:51):
still's volatiles.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
It's been.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
I mean it's up and down. We're six eight seven
five on a thirty six and an eighth on a fifteen.
Though you know that's not bad bit it just I
think they're gonna come down. I don't want people to
wait to get qualified to try to buy Woody.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
But you know what I'm saying, it's uh, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
But the phone numbers eight five, nine, eight six, that's
here in Hamburg South and drives eight five nine two
six three three three three five. So if you can hear,
if you can call us. But uh, Jim is a
gonna be Terraffs. Bond market jumps rates go up. Starting
negotiating the Terraffs, bond market jumps rates go up. Lock
(01:30):
market crashes, bond market jumps rates go up. Sock marker
comes down or gets back in shape, bond market jumps
rates go up. So I don't know what the heck's
going on out here. I used to pride myself on
having a clue, but you know, they've kind of made
it clear that they're not going to be as worried
about you know, uh jobs and stuff as they are
(01:50):
just overall inflation, you know. And then they say that
Pell doesn't want to be a two time loser on
decisions he's baiting, you know, during the economy structure. So
there's no clue on what they're going to do. But
you know, you would be surprised, and we've had this
conversation before. How many people think how much power that
mister Powell has, which is very little actually, and or
(02:12):
what the prime rate does or doesn't do for us
and the mortgage end of it, and the rates for
a thirty year fixed mortgage are based on a ten
year bond, right and people, you know, so you'll have
these real Hey, the thayers are going to do this.
You bere to do something which you know, it gives
people a call to action, but it's really not how
it works. We live in interesting times.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yes we do.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
I've found that the people are starting to accept the
fact that this is not a terrible rate, and historically
it's not right. I mean, I've said this before. When
my wife and I bought our first house was eighteen
and a quarter. We didn't blink, that's either that or rent,
and we didn't want to rent, so.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
We bull it up and.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
We just I think we got full of a three
percent and under three percent rates and I don't see
that happening again. I think that you know, in Pinky
and I talked about this all the time, you've been
hearing this conversation with you. We think we should settle
in around five and five should be.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Okay, it should fit.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
It should fit, you know, five five and a half,
so they're nine and a half should be and it
could and it should suit any type of buyer if
you're a first time home buyer, you're or or third
time home buyer. If this hadn't come over that income level,
five five and a half should be right in the game,
you know what I'm saying for people to consider, and
you're you're you're right. I mean, people have accepted it,
(03:28):
do because you know, I can show your AFT report.
I mean we closed you know, I mean we you know,
fifty three loans last month. We listened at five properties
last week. Yeah, this week, yeah, you know. Yeah, so
things are happening, yes, And and I just like to say,
I think you know, you can always refinance it. I'm
you know, marry the home date the loan, exactly, marry
(03:49):
the home date the loan. And we say that all
the time too, because the lower rates go, the more
competition you have to bid again it, you know, so
you stand on the sidelines, and meanwhile, real estate is appreciating,
so you're missing that, you know, the appreciation. Just gonna
say I'm gonna sit wait for a while. We wait
another couple of years or whatever the time for it is.
And if you bought a house in twenty eighteen and
(04:10):
maintained it, it's worth double today, absolutely so.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
And people, yeah, I mean, I'm not talking no improvements,
just maintain it. Yep. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
And people, you know, my daughter's twenty five, twenty six
years old, and I get to spend a little time
with them. If I'm lucky enough, they'll let me in
the crowd.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
You know.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
We talk a little bit of business on occasion, and
they talk about buying houses and wait for that rate
to drop, you know. And I said, wait, I said,
they ain't make it any more. Land boys, you know
what I'm saying. That house that you're looking at today
for two fifty by the time that rate gets to
five and gonna be too eighty five.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
So where's the rubber meet the road? You know? And
they don't think about it that I said. You can
pay all them.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
You can pay all the damn payments you want to
out on Hayes Boulevards wherever owns that property, or you
can pay for your own property.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Which you want to do.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
And home ownership ain't for everybody, but a lot of
these kids are learning and then they're there and I'll
tell you, you know, I'm picking on them a little
bit about equity and pricing and timing and marketability and
all those things. Would he I will say this much
for the crowd of people that my daughter's run with,
and the majority of them, they got their stuff together.
I'm being able to save establishing good credit history, you
(05:17):
know what I'm saying. And I'm super super proud of that,
right because a lot of people they don't get it.
You know, credit is the lifeline to your bar and ability.
And you know, it's kind of like when you start
your class off at the beginning of the year.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
You start with an A.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
You know, you keep you make hundreds the old time,
you're gonna get an eighth. If you don't do it,
then it's gonna go down. The same thing with credit.
When you started. You're starting off okay, but if you
miss the payment, decide you're not gonna pay somebody. You
get mad over a business transaction, you don't feel like
you were done right, You're gonna tell a story. You're
gonna pay for it. Yeah, and a lot of people
don't get that. So it's I am. I am proud
(05:52):
to say that the people that I do get the
help that are starting off and they're early, and it's
sometimes it's I did your daughter's loan, you know, I
don't mean to be know that's something we don't talk,
like what your credit scordy like that, but found out.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Pretty proud of them. Yeah, you've educated her very well.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
And that's what I'm find out with a lot of people,
you know, where they're don't refer me to their kids.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
And that's the biggest honor. I haven't here.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
I'm interviewing a guy in here for a job, you know.
He said, where you know, where's your pipeline come from?
I said, well, I'm lucky enough that you know a
Guardian we service are on loan server every month they're
making a payment to Guardian.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
So it's not out of sight, out of mind. But
I have been able, you know.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
I'm just I'll tell a little bit about my age,
but I mean, I'm getting to do loans for the
kids of parents, you know, the parents that I helped down,
you know, and I love it, you know, And then
to see savings and good credit and good responsibility and
good accountability right, you know, because they don't teach a
high school, they don't teach you how to you know,
(06:47):
how important it is to pay your stuff on time.
And some people don't care, you know. They walk on
campus and they go buy a T shirts, see somebody
off for a free Discover card and get that card
and run that thing up or Applebee's or whatever back
in the day. Two keys and what have you buying?
Everybody drinks and then it's get that payment two keys. Yeah,
and wonder where they can't you know, can't buy a house,
you know, or whatever, or have to pay nine percent
(07:09):
rate when everybody else is getting three because they didn't
pay their stuff on time.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
But we've been very fortunate. I am proud to say that.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
You know, a lot of the kids I do talk
to have their stuff together as far as that goes.
But I hate to see in painting other people's bills,
and you do as well, you know what I mean,
Just rent and home ownership pain for everybody, you know,
taking care of stuff, maintaining the home, just like you
were talking about cutting the grass, taking care of it,
painting the windows, you know, keeping it clean and doing
all the stuff, but finishing the floor, taking the popcorn, Yeah,
(07:38):
off the off the ceiling, Yeah, the texture ceiling.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
You mentioned earlier. You know, the appreciation.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
What is the average appreciation in the central Kentucky at
this point you got to it's like six or seven percent.
Still it's over five, isn't it. Yeah, it's it's some
seven seven eight yeap. So if you don't eat that,
right and so and what what what? What you're talking
about that? So people that might not listen all the time.
So if somebody's got a two hundred thousand dollar house
and it's appreciates on average in central Kentucky at seven
(08:05):
percent a year, they're paying down on that balance. Just
like you said, if you bought in twenty and eighteen
and you have maintained your home for seven years, it's
doubled in value.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Amazing. That's truly amazing. And so think about it as
you're listening to the show. Give us a call eight
five nine, eight nine nine one nine three six, let
us get some information from you, let us get your
pre qualified And we had this conversation or doing this
guy job interview. Don't get you two or three other quotes.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
I don't care. You know, I know what I got
to offer.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
I'm gonna give you my first and best right off
the top, and go see what else is out there.
And if you you know, I don't lose very many deals,
but I want people to know what they need to know.
And I have nothing to hide, you know, and I'm
and I'm proud of that. But if you're making an
investment and you do it right, you're doubling your money
in seven years, you know. I mean, it's the way
it's worked out well. Plus you you you tend to
(08:59):
make some improvements to it on top of it. So
it's it's it's to me, it's a it's a it's
a no brainer, ou decision. Do you want to get it,
you want to do it, and you want to have it,
And it's just one of those things that eight five nine,
eight nine nine nine three six if it's not something
we could do now, if we can at least put
a plan together, and you I've been through that when
(09:20):
they call them you need to fix this, need to
fix that, need to wait till this or that, and
you yourself do that.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
All the time.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Absolutely, It's like or you know, you're probably talking to
three months from now. But here's what you need to do,
and I can use me as a resource. I've got
a number for virtually anybody that could need to do
whatever you want to do, absolutely, and you would only
want to do the things that if you pay a
dollar for you want to want to get a dollar,
fifty or two dollars back, right, You don't want to
just break even? Why bother? Right, So you know there's
(09:49):
there's several things and a lot of a lot of
those are on the outside to improve the curb appeal.
And what do your you know you've talked about this
before somebody comes in and says, man, I want to
sell my house and buy this one. You want to
take a listing to. You know they've got something because
there ain't a whole lot out here to choose from.
I mean, you tell you tell it with a lot
of a lot of people sitting on those two two,
three quarter three percent mortgages and they you know, they're
(10:12):
they're not going to They may want a bigger house
or smaller house, but I mean that's gonna you know,
that's a big difference between you know, three percent and
you know six and a half seven. Yeah, any and yeah,
and it's also just one of those things that you
have to, you know, manage it properly.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
Sometimes.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Yeah, I've taken somebody it's got a four percent interest rate.
I have to put them on six and a quarter.
But I'm consolidating enough debt to save in twenty six
hundred a month, right, you know, So there's sometimes where
you have to do it. But it's marry the home,
date the loan, get in, get pre qualified. But really,
what I was trying to say is there's I know
it's happened a couple people that we know unfortunately where
they get their house listed and itself and they can't
(10:49):
find anything that they like to move into, so they
wind up renting or having their stuff in storage because
of what's going on. And I know you won't take
a list until they know that they've got something else
to get into exactly. So my first question, what is
your game plan? Yeah, so that's why we don't know.
We just thought we'd figure out as we go. I'm
probably not the right.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Guy, yeah, because you're gonna be home. Listen.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
I don't have enough storage. I got two horses over
here that I don't even own. That happens in a can.
They don't go away. So we're gonna we're gonna take
our first break today. We hope you stick with us.
I'm uh, Jim got a guest in here, Jim Woodrum,
and we're gonna take a small break.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Banks Over every ninety one Call.
Speaker 1 (11:25):

Freaks Jim's woodroom in here this Saturday morning.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
We're glad to have you tuned. Then to his tenss
on vacation.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
He's down in Florida with his family, and so we
throw a shout out at him. I know he's listening
in banks Over to day from nine to one. pH
numbers eight five, nine, eight nine, nine, one nine three
six Southland Drives eight five nine two six three three
three three five. So if you can hear, as you
could call us. Mark is still volatile. Crazy things are
going on. We were just talking about, you know, appreciation
(12:07):
and so and so and forth. And by the way,
we're gonna get Frank Minifield on the phone here in
a little bit. You know, Frank from Hiss area, played
in the NFL for several years and he spearheaded the
Kentucky NFL Pro Football.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Hall of Fame. He's a good man.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
He's a great guy, I mean, a great part of
this community. And you know they Foster Care is one
of the groups that they are invested in as far
as they're fundraising and so on and so forth. So
we'll get him on the show here this next thing,
So stay tuned for him, Bryan. He's a great interview
you know, he knows a lot of people, knows a
lot of stuff, got some good story and stuff. So
just the super part of the community here. Confident guy
(12:40):
as well. Well, he just when you're good, you know
what I mean, when you know what you got. But
he's very humble, he's very well, he very but he's
very willing to help in other ways, you know what
I'm saying. You know, yeah, good man, like I said,
but he don't change. He's the professional athlete thing there's
some stuff they just ain't gonna lose, and and they
(13:01):
you know, refuse to lose.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
I can't remember.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
I love it, buddy, mine was playing with let's see,
when Michael Jordan was playing you know, double A ball. Uh,
the coach for the reds Now was the coach of
that team.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
So, And they played yachstie in the in the in
their off time and would not go to batting if
the game wasn't over. The game wasn't over, yase, I
don't care what time it was. They gonna finish that
yachtsa game. And I heard this story recently. But anyway,
one of the guys that played down Eastern happened to
be on that double A team when Michael Jordan was there,
and and you know he's you hear about his competitiveness
in the game and so on.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
And so forth. Anything. Who's the coach of the name
of skates there just blows me wayning.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
But anyway, he was the coaching that team down there,
and this guy from Eastern one left handed, and he
said they didn't make a different.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
YACHTSI tidley winks whatever. But yacht was a big gain
that they played all the time and I get a kick.
I love playots. It's a fun you know. So that's
just the competitiveness in the nature of the business.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
But but Minifield, Yeah, they're gonna be out there doing
that part three next week at that Real over Community
Housing out uh foundation golf outing and I don't think
they may beat them last year. But it's just darts
and they're throwing some darts down there on the hole
and uh but I.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Just a great, just great gird, you know what I mean.
And they're just as nice to everybody and have a
good time. And the weather should be good, so it
should be good.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
But Real Community Housing Foundation, you know, the money they raising,
the stuff they do.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
You know, they're building wheelchair ramps for people that eat them.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
And need and you know, you want to talk about
how to make how make you make your hair stand
up when you see somebody crying because they get to
they can go to the mailbox, right, you know, they
can get out of their house and get down to
the curve. They could you know, go down the street
visit a neighbor, you know, but they're trapped and they're
just so the Real Community Housing foundation does a lot
of good things, life changing, absolutely, and a lot of
(14:50):
people don't realize that.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
You know, they're they're the community.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
We have uh of workers in the line of work
that we're in, you know what I'm saying as far
as state and dealing with people and making things right
and affect price and stuffly, when you know, went through
the real estate crisis, we didn't get nailed like a
lot of people in the country. You know, these realtors
that had the foresight and the leadership to hey, let's
make these adjustments.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
This is what we think is going to happen. And
we never did get tumbled in value and depreciation like
a lot of areas of the country because they're right,
very fortunate. And that's just good leadership, common sense and
good good people. And talk about that enough. I mean,
you know, you know, you know their relator they are
going to make.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
You know, they have no idea behind the scenes what
all these people are out here doing. And I work
with them, you know, and they got kids, they got
sports and all this other stuff. But they'd aboard meeting
trying to figure out how to raise money for other people.
Right while they're dedicating their time after they dropped the
kids off of practice and hauled too over to dance
lessons and whatever else and show up to do a
fundraiser somewhere. And that's a majority of them. And it's
a lot of the time, it's a lot of the
(15:51):
same people a lot of the time. There's a lot
of people that really in your area. And if you're
in central Kentucky and in Kentucky, you're you're blessed and
we're lucky, you know, and you know it, and I
know what you and your wife bust your tail, tell a.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Little bit about yourself.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
We got about two minutes after they wanted to reach
out to and then we're gonna get Frank on the
phone after that. But sure, Yeah, my wife, Sherry and
I are a team and we work with Remax Creative
Real too. We have an office here in Lexington as
well as one in Winchester and one in Georgetown. We
have been doing this for almost twenty years and it's
a great feeling of accomplishment.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
As you alluded to earlier, you know, you worked.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
With a couple and then their kids call you and like,
oh yeah, I remember you were like you know about
high you know, that's time I talked to you hip
and we just really enjoy it. It's just and it's
like you said, alluded to the what's the way to
help people?
Speaker 2 (16:43):
And you happen to you know, get paid for it too.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Like you said, you know, if you have a game
plan at the beginning and and understand you got to
listen closely, understand what the what what their goal is
and help them get there. And there's so many different
terms and niches and ways and make that occur. And
we just enjoy the entire process. And you guys doing
good job and understanding the ins and outs and the
(17:07):
experiences you have with real estate. And that's what I
tell people when I refer them to you. And you know,
I got a few different and I don't get all
your loan and get all your referrals in, but I
know when I send them to you, this is how
they're gonna treat you.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
This is what you need, this is how they work.
And they're a team, you know.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
And uh, And then you send the people here that
you know that I've got a good program for and
I don't have it, you send it to AM or
someplace else whatever, And that's what makes it good. I
don't have to have it all. Just give me a
little piece and let me help them. And you know
what I mean, same thing for you. I refer you
the ones that I know, Hey, this is gonna be
the right connection. And you got I've sent you some
crazy ones, not in a bad way, but I I
was knowing that the detail that needed to be done
(17:42):
was gonna be done without any fiasco or any big deal.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Out of it.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
But I never looked at them as crazy, you know.
But you had to do a little different rink. Yeah,
that's all. Yeah, so boss, get to the finish. Fine,
everybody's happy.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Hey, accounts, we're gonna get Frank Minifield on the phone
and chat with him a little bit. We're gonna take
a break. You Our list of Welcome Home Show by

whatever mortgage needs are.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
We mentioned earlier we were going to try to get
the Great Frank.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Minifield on the phone with us so he can share
some information on his NFL project that he does every year,
and we're gonna talk a little bit of golf. You know,
he and some of his friends come out and help
us and they support a lot of local charities and things,
and we got a golf event this too that he
brings three dart throwers out there, So we'll pick on
him about that a little bit. But Frank, I appreciate
(19:16):
you taking time out of your day to visit with
us a little bit. Has everything going in your world
with the NFL stuff, and are you ready for a
little bit of dart throwing this week at the golf outing.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Well, you know, I hate to put myself on the back,
but you know, we went out there last year and
we gave you boys a pretty good dustin. You know,
we play a we challenge every group in the golf
outing at.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Part three out there at the at Kearney Hills.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
And I like to say, uh, you know, I don't
want to announce it in a way that makes everybody mad,
but I think we went undefeated out there last year.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Well, I think that there's a few people looking forward
to rematching you. And it was a good deal and
it was a great for people. And I didn't realize,
you know, because you guys are just hanging up being
yourselves and then afterwards they.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Came who was that? And then they go, oh my gosh,
is that who that was?
Speaker 1 (20:09):
You know, So it's fun. How you guys handle it,
how you challenge it. But I think some people be
looking for you, that they're looking for a return.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
Oh yeah, I'm sure there's a few guys out there
on that whole practicing right now, night and day.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
I believe.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
What's been going on in your world, Frank, you got
the NFL Hall of Fame here in Kentucky going on.
You do a lot of fundraising and stuff and the
money that supports for Foster carry Foster Home and so
on and so forth. And tell us a little bit
about what you got going on. And you know, we
obviously talk about the older community, how these foundation which
we like to collaborate with you guys because of all
the good stuff that you do.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
But what's going on this.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
Year, Well, you know it's that time of year.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Uh, this is when we h we tell the world
about the all the great football players that have been
in the NFL from the state of Kentucky and the
contribution that they made to the National Football League. You know,
you don't have to ask, you don't have to go
too far to ask.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
What's the greatest game in the whole world. I mean, I'm.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Sure about ten steps that's the first person, and they'll
tell you the National Football League is the greatest game
ever invented. And the only problem with the NFL is
that they do not give the.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Kids from the state of Kentucky that do.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
I mean, we've had some unbelievable players play in the NFL,
and this year's induction class me and ranks right up
there with all.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
The rest of them.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Some of the greatest players have ever played in the
NFL that are from the state of Kentucky. And I'm
sure that because of the what we want to call
it the biasedness of the NFL. I mean, guys like
Sam Grenaiason, that's one of our great players this year,
(21:54):
don't get they just do in the NFL because you know,
I think we're They all kind of contribute to that
notion that the state of Kentucky don't play very good football,
and then the guys get to the NFL and they dominate.
And this kid, that Sam Greanison from Louisville, Kentucky, I mean, unbelievable.
(22:17):
Matter of fact, he was even a greater coach in
the end, won the AFC Championship in nineteen sixty three.
But that's the way I guys have rolled in the
National Football League. I mean they go, they flied up
under the ruler all the way till they get to
the NFL, and then all of a sudden they.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Get to the NFL and they just dominate.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
And just to give you the complete lineup of who's
going to be inducted into the Kentucky Pro Football Hall
of Fame this year, there's another guy named walk Rwarski.
Speaker 4 (22:49):
Now walk Yrwarski, you might.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Recall you hear his name brought up all the time
because he was the person that recommended Dallas Cowboy that
they should select Emmitt Smith.
Speaker 4 (23:04):
You guys know that story.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Uh well you know, uh, they didn't have Emmitt Smith
on there. I mean, Himmi Smith wasn't even in the
top five players that they was gonna take that day.
And he finally convinced them to take Emmitt Smith down
there at Dallas because he was one of the scouters
down there, and you know the rest is history. I mean,
(23:26):
you know, he ended up being one of the greatest
running backs to ever played.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
And uh, that guy, walked Yuwarski.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
If he wasn't down there, he wouldn't have done it
at Dallas Cowboys, right We're also gonna honor Romeo Crenell.
I'm sure you guys know who Romeo Crannell is. He
won a Super Bowl. He's a kid that with the
Western Kentucky end up coaching with probably one of the
greatest coaches ever, two of the greatest coaches.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
He coached with Nick Saban and coach with what's.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
My old coach? That is getting married to an eighteen
year old now.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Huh, I think she's older than eighteen.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
But Billichickie Belichick, Yeah, yeah, he was Belichick's defensive coordinator
for several or those Super Bowl wins that they had.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
If he doesn't do a pretnuptial, Frankie gonna be Billichickie.
That's what she's gonna get. She's gonna get some checks.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
I don't know what's going on with Bill, but uh,
that's a surprising one right there.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Well, the other guys that you guys gonna know.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
A lot better.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
You guys know Danny Travathan.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yeah, uh, you know, we really love Danny Trevathan's story.
You know, you know, the NFA always think somebody is
too small to play I E me uh, and then
all of a sudden they get there and uh, you know,
they are unbelievable football players.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
And Danny falls right into.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
That that uh that status, had a tremendous career, played
close to ten years. You know, at every turn they
was trying to find a reason not to keep him,
but he stayed anyway, and uh and was a great.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
Football player at the University of Kentucky.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Yeh, believe me.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
One thing that don't happen. You do not play nine,
ten eleven years in the NFL if you're not one
of the best. Oh well, it don't happen. They get
rid of you about one or two years. You're gone
because they figure it out right away.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Yeap, When are when are you gonna do the when
you when? And where are you gonna do the inductions?
This year?
Speaker 4 (25:42):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Then duction is gonna be at the exact same place
at the Hilton Hotel Ballroom in downtown Lexna. Uh it
is on the twenty seventh of June. We have we
have tickets and tables on sale right now. If you
go to the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame website,
you can get tickets or a table. We prefer you
(26:06):
buy a table instead of a ticket so you can
bring all your friends with you.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
It's it. Last year.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
It was the first time that I've been able to go,
and it was one of the most fun times. And
my day that I took with me at the time
has already asked about going back this year because.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Of the way it was run, the camaraderie.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Of the people, and it was like being at a
family gathering almost, you know what I mean. Everybody was
just so hospitable about taking pictures.
Speaker 4 (26:35):
We're all glad to see each.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Other, yeah, taking pictures, signing this, signing that, and any
other people. You honored some of the students who had
done this and students who had done that, And man,
it was if it's something that you have an interest
in and you want to support it for the twenty
seventh of June this year, to get down there. I'm
just telling you to go, you know, hang out with
these guys and just sit around talk with them.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Just I mean, just like you're.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Like you're setting at a you know, at the dinner
table with them, you know, and you are in some respectment.
They just move around and just take pictures, sign autographs
that It was just man, it was just so relaxing
and fun and engaging. You know, it was just it
was a great time. And you know, the girl I took,
you know, she knows a little bit about football, not
the biggest sports fan, but it was something that she
enjoyed so much. With the crowd, the people, and the
(27:20):
way she was treated. She's like, man, I want to
go get cool. She couldn't believe it. You know, you
look at these guys up through your eye on some
of them, and you know, and just all of a sudden,
they're just like we are, you know, and she had,
you know, just it was a great great It's just
a great way to support the people and meet some
new people.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
If you are a football fan.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
There is not another NFL event in the state of Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
Uh, not not at all.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
I mean a no NFL teams coming to the state
of Kentucky this year, and that's not gonna be another
opportunity to have all of our NFL players, all our
NFL alumni in the same place, same time, uh and accessible.
But the entire night except for if you come and
(28:08):
hang out with us.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
It was.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
It was incredible and I'm looking forward to this one
and hopefully people will follow up with you and get
on and check out the tickets and stuff and and
not feel intimidated because there was kids of all ages
there and it was just you just have to see
it to believe it.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
You know.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
I'm fortunate enough to be able to talk to you
and a lot of other people, meet a lot of
people doing the radio show and in my job and
my capacity, But to hang out with those guys that
you had last year and just the way everything went,
and then to meet some of the other younger people
that you recognize for things they'd done in the community,
things they had benefited from, and just the stuff.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
It was. It was impressing. Man.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
So I hope that people like you say, if you're
if you like the NFL, this is the event you
want to come to in the state of Kentucky to
be able to rub elbows and meet some people, and
you're going to gain more respect for him than when
you got there, because I assure.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
You, yeah, yeah, yes, yes, without doubt, without a doubt.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
It's it's just a it's a it's a class to
deal all the way across the board. So give them
the information again on how they can find out about it.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Frank Well, the first thing I want you to do
is write down the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame
website and it's real easy. All you got to do
is abreviate Kentucky and spell pro Football all the way
out and then it's dot org o RG and.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
It's just get on, get your ticket and then go
from here. And it's a great opportunity to meet some people.
June twenty seventh, downtown to Hilton. You will not be disappointed.
It's great food, great company, great presentation. Everything keeps moving.
You're not going to get bored if everybody's engaged the
entire time. And it's a great opportunity. And what is
(29:46):
the organization you guys generally try to dedicate your time
and money and efforts into on your fundraise.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
It's Foster Foster Home, isn't.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
It foster Care? It's the Foster Care Council, Foster Care Counsel.
And what the Foster Care Council does is they basically
try to help kids that find themselves without parents, uh,
try to help them to gain their footing in life.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
That's perfect.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Hey, we got we're running out of time on this
session of the show. Thank you for taking our call.
I know I'm going to see you Tuesday at currenting
for the Realder Community Housing Foundation golf out and you're
gonna have three people out there throwing darts or.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
Yeah, yeah, you know, you know it'd be We're gonna
hope to put another win in the column on Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Absolutely, thanks for and thanks for letting us call and
talk to you. Thanks for everything you're doing, man, and
we'll holler back at you some more leading into the
Hall of Fame inductions this year.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
Frank, Town's good and I appreciate you having me on today.
I mean, you guys did a great job last year
and you know this good partnership.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Absolutely, we appreciate We love collaborate with you guys, and
everything's for a good cause.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Man.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
We appreciate you having a great weekend. Frank, will see
you Tuesday. Hey, you've been listening to Welcome Home Show
by Guardian Savings make We're gonna be right back over
to day from nine to one on numbers eight, five, nine, eight, nine,
nine one, nine three six.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
You listen to us on news radio six thirty w LA.
We'll be right back. Thank you, Frank.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
You're back list of Welcome Home Show by Guardian Savings Bank.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Larry Frank Jim Woodermandre this Saturday morning.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Want to throw a shout out to Frank Minifield, always
a great interview, great guy. Yeah, and you know, as
you know, what, do you know what we he was
gonna he ain't gonna let you know.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Now he's gonna let you know about winning.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
And they're gonna be throwd some darts after Tuesday at
the golf out and then there no track. Oh they're
looking for him. There's some people say them guys gonna
be back out there, you know. So they've got it
set up fair and it's a it's a good deal.
So it's we're looking at if you get a chance,
you haven't signed up, or you you want to come out,
take a picture with these guys, see about the NFL
Hall of Fame or do something. They're generally, you know,
(31:51):
very accessible and they'll be on the par three the
very first part three there, you know, kearney and but
come out, you know, bid on something, hanging out, meet
with them and do whatever, but most certainly follow up
with them online k Y Pro Football Hall of Fame
dot org and you know, gu spell all of it
out with Kentucky. But great guys, great guys and a
(32:13):
great interview. We're getting back on here before they do
the Hall of Fame stuff. But it is truly we
went last year. You know, the food was good and
it was just it was just, you know, just like
a family reunion kind you know, I mean you just
feel comfortable. You know, everybody just get up and you know,
shaking hands and chat and congratulations and love to have
(32:33):
it and just you know, just anything.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
You know.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
It was just thats just good for people to see
that they're you know, neighbors, you know, and their friends
and there there's regular people, and it was they deal
with the same things we deal, yes, and their life
is happening to them just like it is us. And
it was just it was so cool and uh just
a great deal. And they're dealing with the foster care
and they do all those things as well. So Frank
(32:57):
thinks taking the call, we'll see you tuesday, get your
back on here before long. Great interview, great answers, those
tons of stories, you know, got a great Yeah you're
a poor with telling the stories obviously, but good opportunity.
So the back to the market a little bit. I mean,
what do you I've got construction loan. I've got bridge
loans going or blanket loans, whatever you want to call them.
(33:17):
We've got we don't have very many refinances, you know,
talking to you earlier about taking somebody from four percent
to six in a quarter. But the overall savings with
the debt consolidation was twenty six hundred bucks a month.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
It made sense.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Yeah, yeah, so, and it's hard for people to understand that.
And it's just knowing what you're doing. You know, there's
a lot of people out here that when rates are load,
it's easy to sell alone. But when you're really trying
to put something together and you're consolidating five bills into one,
or seven into one or what have you, you know.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
You need to know what you're doing.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
And the same thing kinds with experienced realators, you know
what I mean, Knowing what somebody's looking for, Knowing a
little bit about the neighborhood, knowing a little bit about
some of the restrictions that may or may not come
about because of their lifestyle. You know, can you have
this in the driveway or that in the driveway, or
does it a pool? And there's just stuff that you
guys find and do that everybody know just when you
help me find my house. When you were helping me
find my house, the first thing we did was measure
(34:07):
the garage of everything we looked at. Because I got
a sixty four sheet every wagon at seventeen inches and
you know, seventeen foot three inches.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
I knew that was important.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
Yeah, so every sometimes that's the first thing we do
is measure in the garage.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
Yeah, if it.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Didn't fit, we leave. Yeah, no sensing, no sensing, fool
with the rest of it. But we did find a
house where it fits. And uh so, but uh, you know,
it's just having the experience, and you and Shrey make
a great team of that nursy. And like we're mentioned,
ear there's tons of great realtors around Lexington and and
a lot of great people that do a lot of
things for people in real community housing foundation being one
(34:40):
of the Lexington Rescue Mission. You know, Bob brown House,
any of the people you hear on here, obviously hear
Jim's advertising on the radio station.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Here's why we like to have him come in and
visit with us.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
I'll get Roy Tudor out here before too off along,
but and I'm most certainly going to get Frank Minifield
back in the game with us for a good interview,
get before the Hall of Fame stuff and get some
good stories out of him. And you know, he's just
a class sack man. I respect him and the stuff
that he does and how he does things. And David
Freiley obviously good friend of ours. You know, he's introduced
us to Frank and Enter. You know, he's dig into
(35:10):
helping others and raising money and he is doing the
things he does and he's kind of helped us collaborate
with the Real Oder Community Housing Foundation in the NFL
Hall of Fame people because we have a lot of
the same common interest in helping.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
He's also involved with the Reds Hall of Fame. Yeah,
David is, Yeah, he sure is.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
And you know he's done stuff with the McKenna, you know,
and just you know, he's got the scholarship fund over
in his old hometown to help people, you know, in
eastern Kentucky. And but anyway, David Frayley, if you're listening
with all a shout out, actually appreciate you and all
your connections and stuff that you bring to the table
for us, and we appreciate you so.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
But the fight of all your flaws. I love you.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Everybody likes this medium, so it's it's all good. But
we hope you've enjoyed the show. Woodie, thanks for coming
hanging out with us and let us well, did you
run past some of your listings if you want?
Speaker 2 (35:57):
You right quickly got about a minute left and balking out.
People can reach you know. I just yeah, I let
you know that.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
My number is eight five nine four nine two zero
seven three seven. My wife Sherry is eight five nine
seven seven to one seven eight one nine. See you
can call or text you to one of those numbers
and we'll listen to what you what your needs might
be and get on the road to get to the
finish line. Yeah, and I appreciate, we love it. Yeah,
(36:23):
thanks for coming and doing the show. And you know,
stepping in for Pinky. We'll get you back and we'd
do it with you.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Him here or not. But I'm just glad you were available.
Looking good. You've lost some.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
Weight, a little bit at you, Ernest hemingway to look
going on, and I guess that fall you'll be looking
more like Santy Clause again.
Speaker 2 (36:38):

weight and he said, well, look behind you and you'll
find it.
Speaker 1 (36:45):

thanks for doing the show. Frankfurt take thanks for taking
us or taking our call. We hope to see everybody
Tuesday out at the Kearney Hills and let golf links

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Community Hasing Foundation.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
Banks over day from nine to one for numbers eight five, nine, eight,
ninety nine one nine three six South and Drives eighty
