all time great dub. He worried wonderful life. Hit the
big box. They're right out. It's time for all beating
the blonde. Let's meet our contestant. We got Darren at

(00:45):
a Conway, South Carolina. Good morning, Darren, Good morning, every buddy.
Welcome in here. We'll ask Tator some questions. You agree
or disagree with her answer? You get too right for
too wrong? You win, all.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Take picture an elephant. Can they use their trunks like
a snorkel when underwater? Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yes, they can pop it right out of the water.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yes, they can use that trunk as a snorkel. Darren,
agree or disagree? I'm going to agree ascidial. Sure not.
They are a semi aquatic animal. How about that they
like the water? Okay? One bell for Darren.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Dater.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
During the Apollo missions, NASA recorded many first and outer space,
including the first song performed and broadcast from space. What
song was it? No, I'm gonna give you you know
what you want? Choice? I love choices. Was the song
fly Me to the Moon, Silent Night or jingle Bells?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
All right, Slimey to the Moon would make sense, So
I'm not gonna pick that.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
I'm gonna say it's silent night. Silent night is what
Tater hypothesizes s at test, Darren, do you agree or
disagree with silent Night? I'm going to agree. You were close.
It was jingle bell It was a Christmas song, but

(02:33):
it was jingle bells. And they smuggled a harmonica and
a little set of sleigh bells onto the Yeah. Wow,
who had to carry that in there? Yeah? How'd they
do it? Well? Okay, we got a full count going
into the final question a Tater, is it true that

(02:53):
those gold medals awarded at the Olympic Games aren't really gold?
It's not two now unfortunately for the resale value, you know,
they're they're they're they're not gold? Yes, so they say
are they isn't true? Get this question right? I don't
even understand it. Is it true that the gold medals

(03:15):
aren't really gold? When you say it is true, the
gold medals are not really gold? All right, Darren? Agree
or disagree? Agree? True? Yes, yes, they're made of silver
with gold platings, so they've got a silver metal snuck

(03:38):
under the gold. So actually you won two medals. Congratulations.
There wouldn't work for you, buddy, big old bulls not
priced back head down the conway for you.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Thank you, sir, first time caller.

Speaker 5 (03:51):

the Fifth, leave it.

(06:23):
Boy and Billy our Johnson is right, Good morning radio,
done right, Good morning, make shows on the radio.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
Here we go.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
And now story with your host Carl ol Children's.

Speaker 7 (07:05):
I reckon, not everybody's happy Christmas time. I got old
Grench what lived up to roll a piece from a
little old place called Joveh. He's all grained and furry
with little girl legs. Kindly looked a good bit like

(07:27):
old doan hard Greaves.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
I hear tell he had some sort of heart problem
or another.

Speaker 7 (07:33):
Well, sir, Every year after Thanksgiving, that grinch Fellers started
getting right agitated. Some folks all that aggravated, I say agitated.
Maybe it's on account of he's lonesome. He's just him
and that little old dog up her. There weren't no
missus Grinch. That big girl from a dollar store brought
him some flowers once, but that's about it. I recognize

(08:00):
men because he weren't too popular, and they weren't too
popular on account of he's so mean. So he had
to live inside his own heart. That's an awful small
place for a grinches to live in, had old grinch fagger,
since them who critits didn't care a great deal about
the meat plumberer, and there Christmas them Hoo's is kindly
an odd bunch, seems to me. Some of them but

(08:27):
ten feet tall, some no bigger than a squirrel. They
called hangs by strange names like crunk lunkers and wahoosa's
and what not. Fact is they had a different word
for just about everything. Maybe that's what made that grinch feller,
I might soar. I know it kindly made me of

(08:49):
my nervous saw on Christmas Eve be a grinch. He
made him a sandy suit, tied a big old horn
on his little old dog so it looked like a
range deer. Some people calling in the ok I call
it the reins. There we else their That grinch had
his little old dog pulled a big old slid down
the hill, smacking the middle of hoovelle. He set out

(09:11):
of going down all their chimbleys and then taking their
Christmas stuff, presents and trees, even old potted meat. Some
spooky little old gown name of Cindy Loo. I believe
she come out there. She caught that Grinch trying to
put that tree up her chimbling. Well sir, he told
her there's something rather wrong with that tree, and he

(09:33):
had to take it over to Bill Cox's outfit and
put some gaye in it. Then he gives her a
biscuit and some mustard and sent her back to her room.
An old grinch need dog, he told it. All them
prisons and the like back up to that cave. Hey
waited until morning, just to looking forward to hear them
start a bawling and carrying on about not having a Christmas.

(09:57):
Well sair them, who's pulled a fasten on him? It
seems they didn't need no prisons or trees or potted meat.
They plummet up with a Christmas spirit. They all come
out there and started singing around the big tree there.
They didn't even need to practice. I guess all that

(10:17):
is singing in the happiness sort of got to the Grinch.
His old eyes started the water and his heart swolled up.
They figured, if you can't beat him, you might as
well join him. So he in that little dog with
a horn on his head. They told all them Christmas
things back on down the hill and give them back
to them little hoo critters. Little cindylu Hoo cretter even

(10:38):
hugged the Grinch, I reckon. That was the first hug
of Grinch had in a good long while. He and
that little girl made friends. He liked the way she talked.
She liked the way he talked. They also tackled, even
let the old Grinch open the potted meat that suffered.
There everything a going good. That old beggirl from a

(11:02):
dollar store, she got jealous of that Cindy Luho creditor
studied on killing her. She got shut of that idea
on a kind of this Christmas and she's a girl
and all, so she killed the Grinch instead. More than
the story is, it don't matter if it's Christmas time.

(11:24):
If and you step out on that beggirl from the
dollar store, she might kill you.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Story Time with Carl Childs has been brought to you
by Hard Graves Potted Meat product, chalk full of peckers
and lips since nineteen thirty seven.

Speaker 7 (11:41):
You have a girlfriend from a dollar store, Little feller,

(12:09):
good morning, it's a big sew on the radio, getting
ready to winder up after forty five years the John
Boy and Billy Show.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
I won't count the first five years where I was
fired twice by the same guy that hired me the
third time and found Billy who actually kind of prepared
the show. So it's a town of two idiots anyway.
Looking back on the stuff we've been able to do
with products for good our veterans, PTSD, Purple Heart Homes

(12:43):
just recently, Mercy Chiefs Operation Christmas Child for over twenty
twenty five years. I know I'm missing a lot, but
those been with us for a long time. And another
everyonet to bring on. Bridget o'donnah Hugh is the CEO
and founder of the United Special Sports Alliance. It's an
all volunteer charity that provides free hunting and fishing trips

(13:04):
for children and veterans with disabilities nationwide. Kicked it off
on the Big Show many many years ago. And the
thing about the way Bridges set it up. You guys all,
let me bring bridget on man. I'll talk about it
for thirty minutes. They'll say, all right, leave Bridge. Oh no,
but good morning is my Wisconsin baby doll. Bridget o'donne

(13:25):
Hugh good morning Bridge.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Good morning, John Boy. How are you doing wen?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
I'm doing good. Baby, joined me in going down this
memory road. We got here. How long ago was it, Bridgid,
just tell our listeners you were here in the studio
when you kicked off your your idea, your amazing idea.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
Yes, it's true, and it was twenty five years ago.
And I remember, I remember the day exactly like it
was yesterday, and I had contacted you. I had over
like forty five thousand dollars in free hunting trips, but
I didn't have any children, so contacted your studio and
asked you if I could be on air. And if
you remember, I said, if you don't let me, I'm

(14:06):
gonna put you in a headlock.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
And then I remember I made you do it anyway.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Because of you, John Boy. There's like over two hundred
big men across the United States. They weren't getting pete
because they got neck issues going on. I kept that
headlock going on for a lot.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Of years something. And that's so cool. You started out
with the hunts and then we put the call out
and then never had a problem. You know, we're not
asking for money, not raising money. We just would come
on the air and say hey, y'all know some kids,
you know, some veterans and would tell you where the
hunts and the fishing trips are going to be. And

(14:48):
it's just really awesome work. Bridget. I know the Lord
has really blessed your efforts there. Baby.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Oh yeah, he's definitely in charge of it. I mean
to see the like just an overall success rates of
what we throw, you know, it puts a lot of
people in awe. I mean it seems like, you know,
like just last weekend we did six beer hunts in
the mountains there. Every one of them got a beer.
It seems like every fishing trip that we do, all
the boats are filled with fish. You know. We have

(15:14):
success rates into your hunts that are up like seventy
eighty sometimes ninety percent, you know. So it's really definitely
ran by God and a lot of wonderful people throughout
the country as it.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Well all just remember the United Special Sportsman Alliance Child'swish
dot org. You can go there Child's Wish at gmail
dot com. And Bridge and I want you to keep
up with Marshy because Tayter's going to be having her
big show Hangover podcast and so you know she can
throw it out there too. Absolutely. Of course we'll still

(15:45):
be on social media. We still want to be a
part as we can. Okay, Bridge, Oh yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
That'd be so wonderful. We appreciate you so much and
everything you've done to keep this charity afloat and bring
the families to.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Us our pleasure. Thank you for letting us be involved
with your Bridge. It worked out great.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Baby all right here and God bless everyone.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
All right, Thank you so much, Bridge, and Merry Christmas, baby,
bye bye. That's awesome. I saw another great story. Thanks y'all.
I was going off about y'all listeners. You know, we
just put it out there and it's all about y'all
and you. That's there's another one as you did over
the years, No many, no telling how many children and
veterans that you helped like that.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Exactly, and the hunts that you've brought to the table
for her that you guys out there.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Is wonderful, all right. And then there's Tom Sorenson, who
will tell you how to bet on the NFL this weekend.
What you will, We can't now. It doesn't seem like
the Lord has blessed him these last three weeks. It's
fun and so up next Good morning, Big shows on

(16:51):
the radio. Coming up, we play worthy word for happy herd,
Happy heard makes top quality attractives, minerals and feed for deer,
bearon hogs. I know in the middle of hunt season

Herd banner at the Big Show dot com intercoch JBB.
You get ten percent off of checkout. Hang on, you
can win you something minutes right now. Our NFL Friday
morning quarterback Tom Sorenson, Good morning Tom.

Speaker 8 (17:15):
Good morning, John boy.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
How are you doing good? Buddy? All right, Let's see
last week you were eight and eight for the season,
one hundred and thirty seven. Excuse me, eighty five and
one for your locks. One in one Houston given Arizona
nine and a half, beat them by twenty. Hooray, Tom says,
Dallas minus five and a half lost to Minnesota by

(17:37):
eight boo for the season thirteen and fifteen. Tom says,
but I feel good about this week. Haven't felt good
about my lock since last week. So I'm with you, buddy.
This is the week we turn things around. Man. You
got your deal back, But first let's get some stuff
out of the way, why do you pick Kansas City

(17:59):
every week?

Speaker 8 (18:02):
Partly because I'm an idiot, partly because they have been
so good for so long. I mean, they're one of
the great sports dynasties of our time. You know, this
will be the first time in eleven years, the miss
the playoffs, first time in eight years, they won't play
in the AFC Championship, first time in four years of
miss the Super Bowl. And they made the Super Bowl

(18:22):
five of the last six seasons. But they just got old,
and they have not found a receiver who could compliment Kelsey,
and Kelsey's thirty six years old. He's not who he was.
They've had four linemen, their best four tackles have been injured,
and it's kind of like the league's caught up to him.
And of course Mahomes went down with he tours ACL

(18:42):
on Sunday, And I just think they've been a cool
team for a long time, and I think it's gonna
be be a while before they get back.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Okay, so you don't think they're going to bounce back
next year and grab it. It looks like they're just
so slowly hitting no slide.

Speaker 8 (18:58):
They are, and Mahomes may not be ready when the
season begins. He may be, he may not, just it depends.
Now Tom Brady had the same injury, came flying backs. Okay,
my Homes will be he's thirty now, but it's you know,
they just don't have the receivers. Kelsey was is one
of the all time greats, but he's not anymore, and

(19:19):
they need to fix their offensive line and they're running
backs might be the worst in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
On the bright side, with Kelsey, he is getting ready
to marry a billionaire, so you know he should be
all right the money. You know, you want to you
want to compete when you can until you don't, won't
do it. Let that be a lesson to anyone else
in the NFL is thinking about getting engaged if.

Speaker 9 (19:43):
You want to, don't get engaged to you know, just popular.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
With women during the season. That's what our coach used
to tell us. You know, back who playing distraction? No, yeah, distraction? Okay, well,
thank you, thank you. So I thought just all about me.
All right, So NFL we talking about man losing a
couple of stars. You hit on Mahomes tearing his acl
what's he got down there? And then somebody on the

(20:10):
defensive side of the ball.

Speaker 8 (20:12):
Man Michaeh Parsons, And it was one of those injuries
they're always bad because nobody touched them. He just went
down towards ACL And here's just here's how significant his
impact is. He leaves the NFL with sixty four pressures.
The second best guy in Green Bay is a tackle
named Rashaan gary Is twenty eight sixty four for one

(20:33):
and twenty eight for the other. And they depend on
him so heavily. Green Bay is not the same team. Man.
They were one of the certainly Super Bowl contender. I
don't think they are anymore.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Man, NFL is better when the stars are healthy.

Speaker 8 (20:49):
So I broke that.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
I like that, And you said, who's healthy? John Boy
and Billy fan Philip Rivers? Man, how about that?

Speaker 10 (20:59):
Dom?

Speaker 1 (20:59):
And we get to see Philip Rivers on Monday Night football?
Can't wait to see. Hey, you gonna pick that game?

Speaker 8 (21:05):
You know his numbers weren't great, eighteen of twenty seven,
one hundred and twenty yards a TDN a pick, but
he let I mean, you're getting the huddle with a
guy like that, and he's we're gonna get the first time,
We're gonna get the touchdown. We're going to get the pickbee.
They almost did. Man. They played Seattle in Seattle and
lost on them because of the lakefield goal.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
And we were dumb mans that was talking about that.
Everybody just expected him to just get run out of
the stadium. Man said, it ain't no way. Five years
looking put on wait, can't throw the ball down the field.
But men hung in there. They had a chance to win,
and that's what you want. So we'll see. He's starting
Monday out at home against San Francisco. Tom will pick
that game, as it will every game this weekend. Before

(21:46):
we get out of here, one more thing I want
to talk about Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He was pretty
good down here close to us in college. Looks like
he's on the right track of the pros. Tom.

Speaker 8 (21:58):
They got a new coach named Liam Cohen who worked
in Tampa Bay with the Dave Canally's the Panthers guy,
and Cohen has just really worked with the Lawrence and boys.
He played well. He threw five five t de passes.
Sunday they beat the Jets forty eight twenty and they
played Denver Jacksonville does on Sunday. That's a good game,

(22:21):
all right.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
So a game that's close to us, and Tampa Bay
is playing the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, and you say,
Tampa Bay is favored by three, and this is good.

Speaker 8 (22:34):
Carolina has been terrible when they've been favored. The last
twelve times have been favored, they haven't covered. And they've
won seven games this season. They were underdogs in each
of them. So good favored Tampa and they should be fair.
It's a weird game because Tampa's lost two straight and

(22:54):
five or six and Carolina has not won consecutive games
since mid October. You know, they go up and down them.
But if they keep doing their pattern, we win, we
lose and WINNA lose. They beat Tampa Bay, then the
next week they lose to Seattle, and then the next
week they beat Tampa Bay again and they are playoff.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Bound, actually controlled their own destiny. Will say please, somebody
act like it. And then next week Tampa Bay plays
at Miami in Carolina hosts Seattle in the Miami made
a change at quarterback.

Speaker 8 (23:30):
Yeah, they're using Gunning quinn Ewers, who is a seventh
round rookie pick out of Texas, and they bench in
to us and Tampa Bay will be a big, big
favorite in that one. Carolina will be as is their custom,
and underdog. Seattle is the number two super Bowl favorite
and they play Seattle. But the team that's favored when

(23:52):
the super Bowl is the rams Man. The Panthers handled
them when they were here.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
That's wow. I we'll see what happens in tom We'll
pick every game before we get out of here. We'll
get back with you in t just minutes that buddy.

Speaker 8 (24:03):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
All right, let's play our wordy word game one eight hundred,
big show you told free line. We'll get a couple
of contestants and play next. Good morning, it's a big

(24:35):
show on the radio for your Friday. You know every
Olympic dream starts with the first glide. Maybe you don't.
Maybe they got that's why we got us. They got

Uh, North is right.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
It's not the moon but the.

Speaker 4 (29:02):

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Twinkle twinkle North, real star star. Yes, it it's the
garland at the bottom of the tree. The word was
words was tree skirt. That was a tough one that
you had. Yeah, but okay, three gave us one five

(29:24):

we getting into the hard Christmas words. Here are you ready, baby,
I'm ready? All right, start o'clock. Now you get this

(29:49):
You bake it. What do you make a jack lane

all right. So last week, let me say all we

(37:16):
are covering that.

Speaker 10 (37:17):
Man.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
Let's look ahead. It is week sixteen, and we got
two Saturday games at five pm Eastern on Fox, the
nine and five Philadelphia Eagles at the four and ten
Washington Commanders.

Speaker 8 (37:36):
The Eagle was fun, it looked good last week and
they're gonna win this one.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Big Eagles win. The nine, four and one Green Bay
Packers at the ten and four Chicago Bears Saturday night
on Fox.

Speaker 8 (37:52):
I would have picked green Bay, but without Micah, they're
a different team, and I'm gonna with the Bears.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
Ooh, one man, make a difference on that one. And
then on Sunday we have the early games one PMS.
The ten and four Buffalo Bills at the three and
eleven Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 8 (38:10):
Boy Buffalo man. When Josh Allen has to be good,
he is something and he will be good again. And
the Bills are all.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
I'm telling you, there's just no other team in the league.
Once they get rolling, impossible to stop the Bills. Yeah no,
but then they weren't. They didn't really in the first
half of Once they get moving, it's like a locomotive.
The four and ten Cincinnati Bengals at the six and
eight Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 8 (38:34):
Going with Cincinnati, uh they just have they don't have
a lot.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
But then Miami, so you're not going with these seventh
round pick the quarterbacks since they bench to uhh. We
got six and eight Kansas City at the two and
twelve Tennessee Titans. I'll bet you five bucks, Dick, he
picks Kansas City again. I mean, what you got?

Speaker 8 (38:58):
Job?

Speaker 1 (39:03):
Yeah, all right. The ten and four LA Chargers at
these six, seven and one Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 8 (39:12):
Tough game. Dallas is another team that's tough to get right,
but going Dallas at.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Home, and we've taken the Bulls. These six and eight
Minnesota Vikings at the two and twelve New York Giants.

Speaker 8 (39:24):
Man The Vikes look good last week and they will
keep rolling. They beat the Giants in.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
New York Guns the three and eleven New York Jets
at the four and ten New Orleans Saints.

Speaker 8 (39:35):
New Orleans is a good four and ten team. They
are a four and a half points favorite. They went
by at least a touchdown and they're by lock number one.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
Other week, the Saints on the lock. These seven and
seven Tampa Bay Buccaneers at these seven and seven Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 8 (39:52):
Maybe the toughest game in the season to pick. I
think Bryce is going to be clutched, and they went
on the last minute drive.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Carolina does, okay. I ben five and nine Atlanta Falcons.
This is the first late Sunday afternoon game. We got
two at four oh five and then the final two
at four to twenty five. So five and nine Atlanta
at the three and eleven Arizona Cardinals.

Speaker 8 (40:15):
Atlanta has a better defense and Kirk Cousins is playing
like he's thirty five again, So I'm going with Atlanta.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
The ten and four Jacksonville Jaguars at the twelve and
two Denver Broncos.

Speaker 8 (40:27):
I really like Jackson, but what man, Denver is a
tough game, is a tough place to win, and I
think the Broncos won a close one.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
Then we got the two and twelve Las Vegas Raiders
at the nine and five Houston Texans.

Speaker 8 (40:40):
Heay, Houston came through from me last week. They are
a fourteen point favorite. They're going to win this one
by twenty. Houston is like number two of the week.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
Log number two. Then we got the eight and six
Pittsburgh Steelers at the eight and six Detroit lines Man.

Speaker 8 (40:58):
This one is his playoff implications. I think Detroit gets
it at home.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
Se it takes it home all right. Sunday Night Football,
the eleven and three New England Patriots of the seven
to seven Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 8 (41:12):
Tell you, mar Jackson last week looked like you could
see traces of who used to be. He's moving well
and this is top. But man, I'm just going with
Drake May and New England in the upset over Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
New England. Monday Night Football. The ten and four San
Francisco forty nine Ers of the Indianapolis coach led by
grandfather Philip Rivers.

Speaker 8 (41:37):
I tell you want a team that's playing well right now,
it's the forty nine ers, and they keep it up
and they win. They win this one in double figures.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
Oh all right, and the lot New Orleans will be
the Jets by more than four and a half, the
Texans will be the Las Vegas Raiders and by more
than fourteen. There it is, all right time. Let's enjoy
this weekend. Buddy. We'll get you picks now next week early.
