In Plant Problems, he’s going to be breaking down and tearing apart the myths of the cannabis industry along with shedding some light on the opportunities in the industry. Born and raised in Colorado, Tony always enjoyed the challenge of starting and building a business. At the young age of 25, he became an entrepreneur with two small construction companies. In 2005, he got introduced to the medical marijuana industry in Fort Collins, Colorado, and started a small MJ caregiving business called Highway to Healing. By the time he was 35, he had two dispensaries with an annual revenue of $6.5 million in sales, including two indoor grow facilities in Denver, Colorado – all four locations having 19 city and state licenses. In late 2012, Tony joined a group of industry leaders to build Organa Brands and started a successful cannabis brand called O.penVAPE. The maker of vaping products and edibles posted a top-line sales of $100 million in 2016 and prides itself of selling a product every nine seconds. It buys ten tons of marijuana a year and creates over 1 million grams of concentrated cannabis oil a year. Organa Brands is the only cannabis company with products on the market in ten states, including at 1,200 dispensaries. Subsequently, Tony has moved on to other ancillary businesses involving small scale extraction and commercial grow technologies. He is also the author of the newly released book, From Black Market to The Man, which outlines the 10 steps to becoming a multi-millionaire in the legal cannabis industry. With the fast evolution of the industry and the acceptance by those who used to be skeptics, the opportunities are vast. The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
