Speaker 1 (00:02):
This is CEOs You Should Know.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
And now from iHeartMedia, here's Paul Corvino.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
This is Paul Corvino, Division President of iHeartMedia in sunny
Los Angeles, California, with another episode of CEOs You Should Know. Today,
I have the honor and the privilege of talking with
Fairy Bores Rodief, CEO of Children's Dental Fund Zone, and
also I am shure Up, the Chief Visionary Officer of
(00:30):
Children's Dental Fund Zone. They have sixteen locations serving the
needs of children and the only dentist that specializes in
serving children with autism? Is that correct?
Speaker 2 (00:39):
We're on one off the field. We're probably seeing the
most autistic children's in southern California.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
As you start to open up these different practices, I'm
assuming you need to raise money. The running joke always
in the businesses that when people are making movies or wherever,
who had to get your business? And they always say
from a group of dasist, But you guys are actually
the dentist. So how did that go? Where did where
(01:07):
did that come from? Did you go out and get investors?
Speaker 2 (01:09):
So the first few offices that I opened, I basically
used Bank of America, Wells Fargo to give me a
loan for the practice, and I was able to pay
off the loans quickly. In between three to five years,
we paid off most of the loans. So after you know,
the six to seven offices, the cash flow of the
(01:30):
office is fairly good enough that I don't have to
borrow as much. You know, each practice and all our
practices are you know what means we started from a scratch.
We did not. We basically rented a space. It costs
somewhere about seven to eight hundred thousand dollars of capital
(01:51):
to start the practice and then you run it.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
The name of the company is Children's Dental Fund Zone.
Tell me about the fund.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Zone, Well, might we want to make sure that the
kids aving fun and even the staff are having fun.
You know, when you go to work, you got to
enjoy your job. You know, if you're dragging yourself out
of bed to go to work, I don't want you
to come to the office. That's what always tell my employees,
and they they're there. And we're family oriented, so we're
(02:21):
very If someone has an issue, family issue, we're there
to help them to resolve those issues. You know.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
One of the things that we also do we have
readers that these people normally people that can paint, they
can make painting on their face or painting on paper.
And they said, so when kids come there, they're really
comfortable because they come into the environment that they used to.
You know, they can sit there and paint, they can
paint their face, they can have fun. There's some toys
(02:50):
or some video games they can play. So we're set
up to make sure that when the kids come in there,
they don't fear us. They feel this this is good,
a friendly environment.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
So how did the two of you meet? When did
this take place?
Speaker 1 (03:05):
This took place last year, and it was really I've
heard of doctor, would have for many years. But because
I've always I've been working different jobs and I was
actual to see you of a different company, I did
not have an opportunity to, you know, meet him. After
I left that company, I contacted him and I wanted
(03:28):
to learn more about his organization because I thought that
maybe I can be helped to him and this, you know,
after the first time I met him, I knew this
was the right place for me.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
So sot to ask your title chief visionary officer, tell
me about that.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yeah, so it's you know, it's a person that advises
the CEO and CEO on what are the trends in
the industry, what are the things they can do to
make things better, what things were doing right one things
we need to improve on. And this person must have
a very extensive knowledge of what this industry is and
(04:09):
then who we are, because you know, a lot of
things industry may not match with who we are. And
we want to make sure that we bring the right
stuff to the company so we can grow the company properly.
And there needs to be plans on how you want
to grow a company. You know, you can't just go
open here, open there. You know, you have to have
a plan on how to grow it. And I've been
lucky enough to learn that throughout the years, so I
(04:31):
thought that'd be a good.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
As Eddy, the two you divide and conquer. You each
have different sets of roles. How would you explain your roles?
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah, we both have different roles. Of course. We also
have a CEO. Of the companies we have. Evalin is
our CEO. She's been with me for almost fourteen fifteen
years as well, and she runs the daily operation of
all the practices, make sure the managers have everything that
they need to succeed. And basically I'm I'm on top
(05:03):
if any issue comes up. I'm looking at what we
can do to grow the practices and help all the
doctors in the practice to succeed. And doctor sore Up
is helping us grow the practice. So how many practices
can be opened in one year? Because right now we're
in a growth growth mode, so we want to open
(05:26):
between four to five practices every year the next do
you have four or five?
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Plan for this show?
Speaker 2 (05:31):
So for next year we have four offices that were
opening there.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
How how wide do you do? Do you go?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Right now?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
We're from West Covina to Eagle Rock and Glendale. Where
are you now?
Speaker 2 (05:42):
So we're going to open one office in chin Oils,
We're opening an office in Southgate, We're going to open
an office in Marino Valley, We're going to open an
office in rialto for different locations.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Well, that's that's quite an endeavor, you guys. Do You
guys are doing incredible? How it's how would someone know
to get in touch with you? Learn where your locations are?
Speaker 2 (06:06):
So the easiest wace is the you know, the website
Children's Dentalfund Zone or CDF zone dot com. They should
be able to look at our website and all the
practices are there. We also post looking for a job employees.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Thank you so much. Guys, really really enjoy learning about
your business. Very successful. It's going to continue opening up
four or five, you know, more of these years. That's
that's very exciting. Again, this is Paul Corvina with another
episode of CEOs You Should Know. I just had the
privilege of speaking with doctor Rodief and doctor Shureup of
(06:48):
Children's Dental Fund Zone, the Chuck E. Cheese of the
dental industry, and thank you guys so much for joining us.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Father, I appreciate that.
