I celebrated my son's birthday. Oh yeah, just took him
out to dinner, got him his favorite dairy queen Kate
of course, ice cream cake.

We visited my dad. My dad gave him some money. Yeah,
we're well, how much money my dad deal? My dad retired,
so he's been retired. My dad was able to give
him twenty dollars twenty dollars?

Did you say, dad? What about an extra three dollars?

well I had, Well, my son didn't use that money,

market place, from Facebook marketplace, that classic so we got.

we bought a non rideable bike for forty dollars.

Yeah, and it always really needs his new too new

The first thing that he bought it from, gave us
damn that little kind of hack to lubricate the just

Like father, like son, Jeffrey buys a car and then
spends more money repairing said car than he did buying it.
Son buys a forty dollars bike, will end up spending
two hundred dollars repairing said bike.

But then my daughter and I we had a rare
chance to go to karaoke. Saturday night.

up to me and just said, jeff you can do

So Rachel and Sales wants him to go out there
float her on on some boat or something during some
memorial service. And the Memorial service people whoever runs it,
they're like, yeah.

Well, they're like, we don't really need anything again, but
apparently she still talked his way in there and she's like, oh,
it'll be great, Jeffrey can go out there.

Well if he came in with the camera to prove unprompted,
she just walked in and said, Jeffrey, what do you
know about the Edmund Fitzgerald And then he just starts popping.
It was the best commercial for the Edmond Fitzgerald I've
ever seen, because he's just spouting it off the dome.
They who needs a commercial though? For the it's a
sunken ship, Like who needs.

Apparently there's a billboard celebrating outside and that's what's celebrating.

Hizzy on Rolls Morning Glory. Former FBI director James Comy
is said to be arraigned today on two federal charges.
Comy has been charged with obstruction of justice and making
false statements by the Justice Department. The case is connected
to Komey's testimony before Congress is back in twenty twenty.
If you remember, he's accused of lying to the Senate

Judiciary Committee about leaking information from the FBI's Trump slash
Russia investigation that began back in twenty sixteen. Sources say
the case is thrown the US Attorney's Office for the
Eastern District of Virginia of Virginia into a bit of chaos,
which is why two prosecutors who normally practice in that
district North Carolina are stepping up to take the case.

So that will happen today. Komy is expected to plead
not guilty.

The President suggested yesterday that he may withhold back pay
from all federal employees once the government shut down ends.

I would say it depends on who we're talking about.

risk and jeopardy. But it really depends on who you're
talking about about. But for the most part, we're going
to take care of our people. There are some people
that really don't deserve to be taken care of, and

He's been seeking gretchrid beaching against people that he feels
wrong him, like attorney general like New York Attorney General

And Carroll, who successfully sued him over You know.

Here's Trump the Today Show a long time. You just
want to say, Okay.

In my opinion, you know, I hear the Democrats are
going to be blamed and the Republicans are going to
be blamed. I actually think the president would be blamed
if there is a shutdown, and it's not going to
be a horrible shutdown because as you know, things will
sort of.

Keep It was a partial shutdown, right.

If there is a shutdown, I think it would be
a tremendously negative mark on the President of the United States.

He's the one that has to get people together.

All right, All right, Robert, you were in LA for
a few days. You traveled home yesterday. You said you
didn't take a direct flight, two different flights. I have
a friend whose daughter is flying back to Chicago and
they ended up driving because there was delay.

And it was just a fast kid.

Yeah, So they ended up getting in the car and
driving last night to get her back home for college.
And I'm happy to hear for you your situation was smooth, smooth.

lays and whatnot.

Well, we just mentioned the shutdown and flight delays and cancelations.
Worse than yesterday. Is the government shutdown entered its seventh day,
so that of course strained aeror travel across the country.
The FAA reported staffing shortages at key airports, including Chicago, Nashville, Dallas,
and Newark, where air traffic controllers continue to work without pay.

They said that Hollywood Burbank Airport operated without on site
controllers for nearly six hours on Monday, relying on remote management.
How scary is that.

I heard the recordings of that, like the where the
tower was talking to the planes and say, I think
we're going dark.

We're not.

We're not gonna be a earf to you know, go
through whatever channels to get guidance and the paths on
what is this because of the shutdown. They're like confused,
they're in the air confused. They think.

More than thirty two hundred flights were delayed yesterday, according
to flight Aware, and union officials warned that fatigue and
financial uncertainty are taking a toll on workers, So you
are lucky that you got home.

Look, I'm not blaming anybody for the shutdown. I'm not
blaming Trump, not blaming Democrats, not blomeming Republicans, whatever, but
you gotta get you know, this is this isn't accomplishing anything.
It's it's more of a headache and a hassle to
reopen things. And why put the country and workers and
people through this? They can't get the services that they need.

to take a disaster occurring, some accident or something before
they get their act together.

creating a competition series based on the board game Clue.
Not much else is known except players will go through
physical and mental challenges to earn clues. The classic characters

Miss Scarlett will be represented, but it's not clear how exactly.

New York Times puzzle Wordle in the works So Wordle.

from Dolly Parton's sister. Now, her sister was asking the
public and fans please pray for Dolly, please pray for her,

make sure that she's okay, and so everyone was freaking out.
So then the sister, because she did.

Basically last night, I was up all night praying for
my sister Dolly.

She hasn't been feeling her best lately. I believe in

Yeah, So because of the panic that she created, she
is walking that back and apologizing. The sister jump back
online to post I want to clear something up. I

serious when asking for prayers for Dolly. She went on
to clear the air, saying that Dolly has been a
little under the weather and she just simply asking for
prayers because she believed so strongly in that. She said,

Have you offered to them instead of sending me a

I have coat. Wearing a mask, Yeah, everybody else in
California was wearing a mask. I mean, it's insane. They're insane.
They're totally insane. I don't know what's going on out there.
They're all wearing masks, they're worried about COVID. Still, maybe
they have good reason, because maybe that is what I
I picked up. But I actually think that it was.

We were staying at a hotel and we go to
check into the hotel and we get there, I request
the digital key so you don't have to go through
the front desk or anything. And we get there at
about eight pm on Friday, and I figure, Okay, I'm
gonna keep looking for this digital key in the hotel.

App never comes. It's the son of a pitch.

And then at this hotel there's a long line at
the front desk. I go, this is exactly what I
was trying to avoid. So you have to go wait
in line. Finally get up to the front desk. They
got one guy working there, nice guy.

But he goes.

Oh, and he goes in the back room and I go, oh,
this is no good. He comes back and he goes, yeah,
I don't understand why I get it. It's eight o'clock
at night, your room isn't ready yet. No, yeah, my
money back, Just give me my all give me like
eighty percent of my money back.

And I've just got done traveling. I've paid for it.
You're supposed to check on what three?

Speaker 1 (18:09):
I think checking the time is probably three or four
or whatever. And I'd even put in the app. I said,
I'm going to be there at seven thirty pm. I
give him at give No, I always I do it.
I do a little bit early because I'm going to
get there at eight o'clock.

I knew I wasn't gonna be there, so.

He didn't need to know that.

Well, I didn't tell him that. No, that's just in.

The app, And so then we had to sit there
waiting about an hour for them to do something with
them room.

You should never have told them that gave them rush.

Oh, no, rush, you'll get here, and then somebody forgot. Yeah,
I would never tell them. I would never tell them
what time I'm going to get there, just information they
don't need. Yeah, I will be there the second I can. Yeah,
at three, none of your concern. Have my room ready
for three o'clock if that's the case.

I know that, and that makes sense.

But there's there is a reason why I do that,
And that is just like how the airline gives me
free upgrades, the hotel gives me free crap when I
check in because I have so many points with them,
and they give you like what they give you, like
a fruit plate.

Oh god, you're gonna eat the fruit plates. Who's not
gonna eat the fruit plate?

Speaker 1 (19:18):
I'm not the biggest fruit plate and a bottle of champagne.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Rather be in my room than sitting around with a
fruit plate for an hour.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
If they what happens if you say I'm gonna check
in at four pm? They put that fruit plate in
there at three thirty and then you don't get there
until eight o'clock. Well, that fruit plate's just sitting in
the room for four hours, bugs and flies and everything
coming around. And that's why, that's why, that's why I
didn't do it.

So I so then I'm waiting around, and they did
buy me a drink at the hotel bar. They go, oh,
we'll buy you around a drink so while you wait.
So we waited for an hour, and I don't know
what they were doing in the room. Everything seemed fine.
I was poking around, like what did somebody do like
crap and smear it on the walls or there must
have been a complete disaster.

But then we're there for a few days.

Then I think I realized what may have been going
on on.

Let's see, we left on Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
I noticed it a little bit on Sunday night, and
then Monday it was just it was really bad. But
I figured, we're leaving tomorrow, so why put up a
big stink about it?

No, pun intended.

A sewer smell was coming in from the bathroom.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
I don't know what it was.

It was like a sewer gas smell or something like
sewer gas.

I don't know. It was so overwhelming in there.

And then I think what I noticed it when I
go in the bathroom and my wife, of course, she's like,
what are you doing in the bedroom, and go, that's
not me, it's something coming up. And and then I
think we just got used to it being in the
room laying that.

I think that's what may have gotten me sick. Was
this sewer gas.

That doesn't get you sick.

You did smell the sewer gas, believable it was.

It was so punkent and so pungent. Uh So you

Los Angeles fans that have been emailing me. And I
was planning to do that Monday night and then Monday early,
like I don't know, Monday, at about noon, I go
something's not right. I think it's the sewer gas in
my hotel room. I mean, the smell was unbearable. And

then I think you're soaking in this sewer gas that
you don't you don't even like realize how bad it is.

Walking up, flopping, gets back into the suv. Wow, completely naked,
drives away like nothing happens, and nobody else in the
gas station noticed it. The best I can tell, we're
just sitting there waiting at a red light when this
was filmed. That was fun, strange, strange start to the day.

And so then we drive and we drive I don't know, man,
probably about an hour or so from the hotel. And
then we get to this sort of remote Teslate area

This was way smoother than I know Tesla's improved their

self driving technology. Here it is making a left hand
turn by itself. Isn't that cool?

to get driverless cars and to roll them out. But

the jj Abrams movies that were shot there at Paramount.
They have some props here. They have a phaser, they
have a communicator, they have tri corder there.

the street signs, plaques, anything that they need for shooting.

a pilot. They made a pilot, and they didn't like

regular sets. So where the bridge of the Enterprise, all

then the stage next to it is where they would
build out temporary things that they would need per that episode.
So if they have like some oh, we're on a
star base or whatever, they would build that in the
in the stage next to there.

If you look at that list in that timeline, how
many movies were filmed in there in that one year?

that we went to the Paramount lot and they have
I don't know how many sound stages, forty fifty, I
couldn't tell you.

show called The Rookie, and we saw them shooting.

Executives are completely empty, a complete ghost town. So I
think what you've been reading and I was read, I
have read a lot of stuff that the like for
sound stages. I read this like a month ago, that
the usage of sound stage. So you know, studios have
sound stages that they use for their own productions or
they rent out, and then there are some sound stages

that are just some studio lots that are just you know,
rented out. So if you have a TV show, a
sitcom or whatever that you need for a year or
what you rented out, that the occupancy of those historically
has always been at about ninety seven percent sound stage occupancy,
it's down to eighty percent. Of what I read like

a month or two ago, and what I witnessed was,
I mean nothing, nothing was going on. It was crazy,
like how little activity was going on there. So I
think that a lot of these productions have moved out
of California to shoot in cheaper places. And I also

think that productions are being made now where you don't
need as much. You know, they're being done on the cheap.
They're being done.

You know, before you could, it was very difficult to
shoot on location. Everything you'd have to take out.

I mean it still is, but I think more people
are shooting on location and cheaper places now, cheaper states.
They're giving more tax incentives and things like that up
in Canada, whatever. But I was blown away by that,
by how little activity there was. Anyway, I gotta take
a break.
