I remember him from playing for the Jets. I guess

He used to work for the ESPN and ABC. So
he retired in twenty nineteen and he's been an analyst

facing felony charges for a fight that took place outside
of his hotel.

Well first, I mean first the news was he's a victim.
He's got stabbed. You know WHOA he just got stabbed.
That sucks. He's at the hospital. And then as you
find out more, here's a video of him after the stabbing.

surveillance video here. Looks like he has something in his hand.

be screaming and going nuts. Well I guess he. I
originally heard that it was over a parking dispute. Now
I'm thinking, okay, a parking lot, like somebody's trying to
park a car, he's trying to park a car, whatever
the case might be.

Apparently a truck driver, a commercial truck driver had pulled
into like an alley or something behind Mark Sanchez's hotel.

And this is in downtown Indianapolis.

They have loading docks at the hotel, and he pulls
up to the loading dock as he would for a
big hotel.

They have food and drinks and who knows what.

They're unloading and loading at all hours of the day
and night. And the truck driver parks there at the
at the loading dock, and then Mark Sanchez comes through
the alley or whatever and gets into some sort of
argument or's dispute with the truck driver who's sixty nine

years old. Mark Mark Sanchez is thirty eight years old
and a physically fit guy. This truck driver sixty nine
years old, he says. The truck driver says that Mark
Sanchez got up into the cab of his truck without
permission and apparently was going to like drive it away

or something, I don't know, and the truck driver's like, hey,
what are you doing. So Mark Sanchez then pushed the
truck driver away, like you know, the cab of these
trucks are up high, and I guess he pushed the
driver away and the driver then pulled out pepper spray
and pepper sprayed Sanchez.

Well, Mark Sanchez didn't like that, so.

He starts coming after this sixty nine year old truck
driver and at which point the truck driver pulls a
knife to defend himself, he says, apparently stabbing Mark Sanchez.

They're corroborating this from what I understand, there is And
this is why I think the police. They say that
they've reviewed, there's a lot of surveillance video in the area.
I haven't seen any of the surveillance video other than

for recycling when he was confronted by an ex professional
athlete who, it appears allegedly and quite literally picked on
the wrong guy. This is how most of us have
come to recognize Perry Toll, a sixty nine year old man.

After an early morning fight in this alley left him
in great pain and his alleged attacker Mark Sanchez staggering
away in a blood soaked shirt after Toll admitted he
stabbed the Fox Sports commentator in self defense.

He's a tough sum a gun. It's remarkable that he's
still alive.

Attorney Eric May sued Sam's posit here because this is
this is the only thing that makes me wonder. And
I guess the police before they've decided to charge Sanchez.
At first they charged him with some misdemeanors, misdemeanors, and
then they have charged them with a felony. But that's

I mean, it's very very serious. Whatever happened. I mean,
Jesus Christ, this guy's all slashed up. The truck driver,
Mark Sanchez obviously stabbed and at first, like Charlie said,
you think he was a victim of a crime.

stabbed them. Whatever.

But the allegation is that Sanchez was drunk and was
just disorderly and rowdy and whatnot, and and that's what
led to this. But the police before they charged him
with this felony, they say that they've reviewed surveillance video,
and there's a lot of surveillance video around the area,

so I guess they have a clear picture of what happened.

truck driver, this incident happened on Saturday. He has already

would think the attorney would wait, make sure that all

as strong as possible. Now you can amend things later
or whatever. But I just find how quickly they sued.

in a case like this, three years to sue. That's
why a lot of times, or a year at least,
that's why a lot of times.

this pub. A Greece truck driver picking up cooking oil

blocking the alley where he's doing the wind sprints.

Sanchez approaches the driver to try to get him to move.

times in the chest. Believing this guy is trying to

how did the guy get slash? How did the driver

driver also has a serious injuries, and Sanchez had surgery

a motor vehicle. And then they upgraded those charges on
Monday to a level five felony of battery of causing

I remember him from playing for the Jets. I guess
he probably he must have played for some other teams
as well. I don't really recall. But now he's an
NFL analyst. I believe he works for Fox Sports now.
(14:51):
He used to work for the ESPN and ABC. So
he retired in twenty nineteen and he's been an analyst
since then. Get former players. They know their stuff. You know,
most of these guys know their stuff and can offer.
Speaker 4 (15:05):

Yeah, so he.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Was in Indianapolis for a broadcast that they did over
the weekend on Sunday, but then Saturday night.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Uh before you know, this is before the game. But
he's out there.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
He probably arrives two days in advance for the broadcast.
They put them up in a hotel out there, and
you know, they have meetings, They have various things that
they meet with the players, coaches, all that kind of
stuff before they do the broadcast. And you know, there's
a lot of stuff that goes into it that you
don't see. But he was involved in a very strange altercation.
(15:43):
There's gotta be more to this story, and maybe you
guys can fill me in on this. But he's now
facing felony charges for a fight that took place outside
of his hotel.
Speaker 8 (15:55):
Well first, I mean first the news was he's a victim.
He's got stabbed. You know WHOA he just got stabbed.
That sucks. He's at the hospital. And then as you
find out more, here's a video of him after the stabbing.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
By the way, oh, I haven't seen this. I haven't
seen any of this stuff. Here you go, Oh, this
is him.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
After being stabbed, walking around. Oh my, get lighting all
the blood on him. Oh geez, geez, Oh my god.
So he's stumbling around stabbed. Oh my goodness. This is
surveillance video here. Looks like he has something in his hand.
I don't know if that's a phone or whatever. I'd
(16:33):
be calling nine to one one right like I would
be screaming and going nuts. Well I guess he. I
originally heard that it was over a parking dispute. Now
I'm thinking, okay, a parking lot, like somebody's trying to
park a car, he's trying to park a car, whatever
the case might be.

But that's not it.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Apparently a truck driver, a commercial truck driver had pulled
into like an alley or something behind Mark Sanchez's hotel.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
And this is in downtown Indianapolis.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
They have loading docks at the hotel, and he pulls
up to the loading dock as he would for a
big hotel.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
They have food and drinks and who knows what.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
They're unloading and loading at all hours of the day
and night. And the truck driver parks there at the
at the loading dock, and then Mark Sanchez comes through
the alley or whatever and gets into some sort of
argument or's dispute with the truck driver who's sixty nine
(17:41):
years old. Mark Mark Sanchez is thirty eight years old
and a physically fit guy. This truck driver sixty nine
years old, he says. The truck driver says that Mark
Sanchez got up into the cab of his truck without
permission and apparently was going to like drive it away
(18:01):
or something, I don't know, and the truck driver's like, hey,
what are you doing. So Mark Sanchez then pushed the
truck driver away, like you know, the cab of these
trucks are up high, and I guess he pushed the
driver away and the driver then pulled out pepper spray
and pepper sprayed Sanchez.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Well, Mark Sanchez didn't like that, so.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
He starts coming after this sixty nine year old truck
driver and at which point the truck driver pulls a
knife to defend himself, he says, apparently stabbing Mark Sanchez.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Now, is there any video to confirm or collaborate from
what I understand, collaborate or corroborate.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Yep, they're not collaborating.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
They're corroborating this from what I understand, there is And
this is why I think the police. They say that
they've reviewed, there's a lot of surveillance video in the area.
I haven't seen any of the surveillance video other than
what Charlie just showed of Mark Sanchez stumbling around, stabbed,
bleeding profusely.

Truck travers screwed up too. You got stabbed? Oh yes, there.

Must have been a struggle over the knife for some here'
that's you can see it winter his cheek of a story.

Oh my goodness, the neck brace. These graphic photos of
sixty nine year old Perry toll Port documents say he's
the man who was attacked by former NFL quarterback and
Fox Sports analysts Mark Sanchez. It's a story Pox fifty
nine has been on top of from the very beginning.

he's out of the hospital, but as a long road
to recovery. As for Sanchez, he's still in the hospital
facing multiple criminal charges. Since these are this incident, response
from state and local officials and now the White.

House have poured in.

As the investigation each of the encounter continues, foxifty nine
is getting a closer look at or he's talked like.

The victim and a good afternoon LEA.
Speaker 6 (20:06):
Perry Toll was on his rounds early Saturday morning, driving
a truck that collects used cooking oil from restaurant kitchens
for recycling when he was confronted by an ex professional
athlete who, it appears allegedly and quite literally picked on
the wrong guy. This is how most of us have
come to recognize Perry Toll, a sixty nine year old man.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Deep gash in his face, deep deep gash.
Speaker 6 (20:32):
After an early morning fight in this alley left him
in great pain and his alleged attacker Mark Sanchez staggering
away in a blood soaked shirt after Toll admitted he
stabbed the Fox Sports commentator in self defense.
Speaker 7 (20:46):
He's a tough sum a gun. It's remarkable that he's
still alive.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Attorney Eric May sued Sam's posit here because this is
this is the only thing that makes me wonder. And
I guess the police before they've decided to charge Sanchez.
At first they charged him with some misdemeanors, misdemeanors, and
then they have charged them with a felony. But that's
(21:11):
I mean, it's very very serious. Whatever happened. I mean,
Jesus Christ, this guy's all slashed up. The truck driver,
Mark Sanchez obviously stabbed and at first, like Charlie said,
you think he was a victim of a crime.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Oh my god, downtown middle of the night. Somebody mugged them,
stabbed them. Whatever.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
But the allegation is that Sanchez was drunk and was
just disorderly and rowdy and whatnot, and and that's what
led to this. But the police before they charged him
with this felony, they say that they've reviewed surveillance video,
and there's a lot of surveillance video around the area,
(21:47):
so I guess they have a clear picture of what happened.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
The only thing that.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
Gives me pause is that this sixty nine year old
truck driver, this incident happened on Saturday. He has already
fo Mark Sanchez and Fox Fox Sports.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
What does sports have to do?
Speaker 8 (22:07):
They employ Mark Sanchez, and I think he's in the hospital.
Attorney comes and goes, we'll get to settle for you
because they're gone. I can't pay my bills. Yeah, go
to the hospital bills. I don't think anything. You're not
going to go. Well, let's wait till we get to
the bot. No, somebody comes here. I can give you
a payday right now. And you're like, yeah, my tongue
can hang out of the side of my cheek. Yes,
let's get paid for this.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
And I think maybe if you wait, you're trying to
get big bucks.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
He's trying to get big bucks.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
No, I no, no, no, If you don't, I think
that the attorney. That's what I find strange about this
is that if you're going to file a lawsuit, you
would think the attorney would wait, make sure that all
of the facts are gathered so that his lawsuit is
as strong as possible. Now you can amend things later
or whatever. But I just find how quickly they sued.
(22:59):
That is strange to me, very strange. You have probably
in a case like this, three years to sue. That's
why a lot of times, or a year at least,
that's why a lot of times.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
You'll see a lawsuit that will happen.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
You can put the dates together and you go, ah, okay,
so they got it in right at the deadline one year,
three year, whatever, like a day before, because there is
usually a negotiation process. You go, hey, we won't sue.
You just pay us X amount of dollars. We won't sue.
So he's frombly nine years old, he might not have
long left to start suing. And you always you complain
(23:32):
victims take too long to sue. Oh you can't prove
that goes too long ago, sw But he's got very
very very very fast. Anyway, So go on play, continue
playing this. Let me see what they say here.

Okay, as and his employer, Fox Corporation on tools behalf.

This is a guy who's working his tail off supporting
his Family's sixty nine years old. He got a citizenship
last month. I mean, it's just a remarkable story.
Speaker 6 (24:02):
Perry Toll is a remarkable guy, as we learned in
twenty twenty one, standing literally by his sister in law's side,
ten years after she was shot in the head by
a robber at a convenience stool.
Speaker 15 (24:15):
And when we see this happening to somebody else, it
breaks our heart. It's devastating to us because we know
what it feels like.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
First had impd thinks Saturday morning's knife brawl was over
Sanchez's anger about where Toll parked his truck in the alley.
Speaker 7 (24:31):
Not my understand that mister Sanchez has reserve parking on
that street. So my client was just doing his job,
minding his own business literally, when he was confronted by
this individual who he did not know, who was saying
things to him that he could not understand. The whole
thing doesn't make a lot of sense.
Speaker 6 (24:48):
Ironically, Toll told us four years ago what it was
like to care for a loved one after an attack
by a stranger.
Speaker 15 (24:56):
They don't take into consideration the consequences that founded his
like have.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
To deal with.

Perry Toll is from Jamaica. He's lived in the US
for thirty years. He just became a citizen last month.
He met his wife while playing guitar and a band
in church, and his attorney says he wants to hear
from anybody who may have seen Mark saty.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
So what did an attorney say about Mark Sanchez is parking?
Speaker 2 (25:20):
I didn't quite pick that up? Underlined and find out he.
Speaker 8 (25:22):
Says he doesn't have as far as they know, he
doesn't have a reserve parking.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Throw about where Toll parked his truck in the alley.
Speaker 7 (25:30):
Not my understand that mister Sanchez has reserve parking on
that street. So my client was just doing his job
business whatever.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
So did Sanchez have a car, like a rental car
or something?
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Sounds like I thought he was just like walking down
the alley and he was what a weird thing?
Speaker 9 (25:47):
Did it also say in the beginning that the company
that Perry works for jumped on suing? Did it say
that at the beginning? And not that he the victim himself,
but the company he?

No, Mark, the company that Sanchez works for Fox?

Yeah, I don't know what the company that I don't
whatever company this guy works for, collecting grease or something.

You're just you're driving a truck.

It's a hard job to do, collecting grease at three
o'clock in the morning or whatever time this is. And
some drunk maniac, Mark Sanchez, in this case of all people,
gets into a dispute with you.

Now, I'll give everybody.

I would love to see the surveillance video and get
all of the facts on this, because we're getting this
guy side of the story. I'm not saying that this
guy is lying or embellishing or exaggerating or whatever, but
I'm curious to know. And we've only heard his side
of the story. We have not heard anything from uh
from Mark Sanchez what his side of events are. But

maybe there's maybe there's a different side to this story.

I don't know. Jay says, you don't find it strange.

That an old truck driver with a slashed face was
able to inflict a deep stab wound on a professional
athlete after being attacked. Obviously, Sanchez was stabbed first and
defended himself. Well, this guy says that Sanchez pushed him,
He pepper sprayed Sanchez. Sanchez then went after him again.
(27:28):
He pulled out a knife. I don't know who got
stabbed first, if he stabed Sanche, I'm assuming he stabbed
Sanchez right in the chest there or in the side.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
I think Sanchez was was was bleeding.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
I think pretty seriously injured in this as well.

I wonder what his update is.

Reports say that Sanchez was running sprints in the alley.

They just want to get, you know, to get a
few hundred yard dashes in tonight before I hit the sack.

You saw this. I saved that video, surveillance video of him.

Oh you don't, all right, I'll I'll receive it.

So, yeah, I don't know what kind of Now, if
he had shorts and a T shirt, maybe, But if
he's wearing jeans and a pole old shirt, I don't.
Maybe he was completely wasted at that point. That's like
something drunk guys do. Try to sober up. I'll just
run a few sprints sober up.

Well, was he with anyone? I wonder, Well, you think
they would be with him after he got stabbed.

You would think unless you just saw your body doing
something completely stupid.

So I'm guessing this is at twelve thirty at night,
just after midnight.

I don't know what he's carrying in his hand there.

If it's a phone, I guess. And he's holding his side.
I mean, he's got a lot of blood on his
shirt there. You can tell when he comes right into
the light.
Speaker 16 (29:41):

Look at how big.

That that bloodstain is there, And it does look like
a polo shirt that he's wearing doing sprints. What guarantee
the Sanchez story will change a lot? This is going
to be a Kareem Hunt scenario. This old dude ran
his mouth same way he shouldn't have, or it ran

his mouth some way he shouldn't have, and Sanchez lost it.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
I don't know. You think of sixteen nis.

If you did run your mouth, you can't go in
and start going into somebody's truck and start attacking them.

You'll end up getting stamped.

But a lot of people are saying that there are
multiple reports saying that Sanchez was doing sprints in the
alley and was pissed that the truck was parked in
his way.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
It's twelve thirty at night.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
You could do a sprint probably down the middle of
the street if you wanted. There's not going to be
any traffic in Indianapolis of all places, at twelve thirty
one o'clock in the morning, and two tiers in a
bucket right. Police say there is more video that is
unseen that is clear evidence that Mark Sanchez was in
the wrong. Yeah, they did say that They seem pretty
(30:57):
confident that he was the guy that instigated this, so
they've charged him with a felony and safe We'll see
what he has to say for himself.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
But man, he's doing wind sprints. What are wind sprints?
Speaker 1 (31:06):
Just I don't know what that is exactly, but uh,
he I mean, think about this, You've just thrown your career.
I'm sure he has plenty of money, I guess, but
you never know somebody's financial situation after they have retired.
They're not making that NFL money anymore. And here's the time.
You don't know if he's saved money, wasted money, he
(31:27):
could have been done stupid stuff with this money.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
I don't know. But the guy is if this, if
this turns out to be.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
True, he probably won't work in a broadcast capacity ever again,
would be my guess. I mean, Fox, as far as
I know, hasn't let him go. But they're gonna wait,
as they should until all of the facts are are
gathered and people can draw a conclusion from this. But
I mean, if you've thrown your your your your livelihood

away over something stupid, would you say I found.

A New York Post has a whole timeline. Friday night,
he is seeing Let's see wrong Button. Friday night, he's
observed acting erradically doing wind sprints in the alley behind
this pub. A Greece truck driver picking up cooking oil
from a nearby hotel parks his truck in the loading dock,
(32:21):
blocking the alley where he's doing the wind sprints.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Sanchez approaches the driver to try to get him to move.
Speaker 8 (32:26):
Eventually he gets into an altercation where he body slams
him toward the wall and then to the ground. Pepper
sprayed him, but he continues to attack, and then the
driver pulls a knife and stabs Sanchez two or three
times in the chest. Believing this guy is trying to
kill me, Sanchez turns around and heads up the alley. Now,
how did the guy get slash? How did the driver
(32:47):
get slash? Is there a struggle over the Yeah, it
must be over the knife or whatever.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Sanchez was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The
driver also has a serious injuries, and Sanchez had surgery
for these stabounds to his chest and was arrested at
the hospital charged with misdemeanor counts of battery, a battery
(33:13):
of resulting an injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of
a motor vehicle. And then they upgraded those charges on
Monday to a level five felony of battery of causing
serious injury. So, well, this guy can somehow weasel out
of this, pay this due to settlement or whatever. I'll
look a good I'll looking good for him when you
(33:35):
go after essentially a seventy year old guy and it
was just out there doing his job. We'll be right
