Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is the Ben and Skin Show ninety seven point one.
The Eagle coming up at the bottom of the hour.
We've got something really outrageous happening in the Love Shack.
You do not want to miss that. Now, everyone's thoughts
have very much been on what's happening in Central Texas
and Kerr County. We're about to do the weekday update
and we have some more information on that we're going
to give you. But a lot of people are inspired
(00:22):
to want to give, and so iHeart very much encourages
you to go to Communityfoundation dot net. That is Community
Foundation dot net. That is right there, a charity that
has been vetted by iHeart. We know exactly where the
money is going to go. It helps rescue efforts, shelter, food,
(00:43):
everything that you can imagine that those folks down there
would need. Right now and again we're trying to raise
money for the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and you
can be a part of it. So go to Community
Foundation dot net. But right now it's time for this.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
And now it's time for Basins Sweet Day.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Up Day featuring veteran news anchor kt F on tweets.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Here are the important stories he's currently tracking from around
the world. Yeah, the latest we have is eighty seven
found dead in Kirk County, more than one hundred across
Texas and the search is continuing. This morning, we saw
a story about popular country music singer Pat Green and
(01:29):
his brother John and his wife Julia remain missing. So
Pat Green's brother, wife and their two kids remain missing.
Not good. And you know at this point, if they're missing,
you're just not There's not a lot of optimism.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
You know, every minute that passes it feels more and
more daunting.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
The other thing I saw that to Robert ro Keene,
another Texas country dude, is from Kerrville, and he was
talking about plans for doing something to help out. There's
probably gonna be a big bash point. And you haven't
raised a lot of money because and all all the
pro teams have been donating and you know, you've been
seeing all that stuff and we have told you again
(02:08):
community foundation dot net where you can donate as well.
But uh, yes, there's nothing. Nothing's good coming out of
the story, you know.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
So Pat Pat Green's brother, that's brutal. All of it's terrible,
especially the children. What what was his brother's involvement there,
do you know was he?
Speaker 2 (02:26):
I don't know, And I don't even know if he
was at the camp or if he, like, you know,
just lived there. I mean, there's a lot of people
who just lived.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
There, had houses along the river.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
But he says, in fact, his brother has been confirmed
at at this point he lived in uh it says
of Liberty, Texas. It's down in that area, thirty nine
years old.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Man, I don't the first time, I didn't really understand
what flash floods were. I know, you guys are going
to think this is crazy. But Bear Grills one of
on one of his shows, he was in there. He
was like in the desert and it was totally dry,
and he was sitting there talking about flash floods. And
quickly they get there and I'm like, bro, you're in
the desert, Like what are you talking about? And I
that's the first time to your point, skin you were
(03:07):
talking about how the ground gets so dry and cracked
that it's just it's like concrete. It's like concrete. So
the water just flies through there. Man, it's just tragic.
There's just when that something like that happens, there's just
no way to get people out. Quickly enough.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
No, No, it's it's brutal.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
One thing that I think is probably going to start happening.
And I was thinking about you know, you were talking
about Robert Earl Keane. You know, people start wanting to
help and thinking about things that they can do. And
one of the things that you know, performers do is
they'll do shows and the money will go to where
it needs to go. And I was thinking about Pat
Green and you know, he has the power to raise
(03:47):
money because he's a highly regarded, revered Texas artist. I
can't imagine playing a benefit in which your brother was
one of the casualties in what you're raising.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Four.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Yeah, that is very intense and very emotional. I mean,
obviously he'll have a lot of his friends involved in
some of those kinds of things, and I haven't seen
a story that he's playing a benefit of. I'm just thinking,
you know, yeah, when someone has a tie to the community,
you know, they they tend to want to be involved
in that stuff. But it's just I can't imagine having
(04:23):
to perform under those circumstances.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yeah. So I mean this is a story we'll probably
be you know, following along throughout the week. We're gonna
keep hammering home to Community Foundation dot and it's a
great place where you can go donate and help out.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
And you may have said this, KT, but there are
still a lot of people missing. Do we have numbers
on the number of people missing and the number of dead?
Have you guys seen an update on any of that?
Speaker 2 (04:45):
So the again, the latest eighty seven found dead in
Kirk County, but there's more than one hundred across Texas
officially dead, right okay, and then you have you know
that number is trickling down, the number of missing right now.
But yeah, I mean I'll even have an update on
the number of missing right now.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
All right, again, you go to Community Foundation dot net.
That is the Kirk County flood Relief Fund that's backing
Community Foundation dot net.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
We vetted it.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
We know that all proceeds are going to go to
the right place, Community Foundation dot net. All right, As
we wrap things up here on the Ben and Skin
Show on your way home, we're going to try to
keep you laughing. So coming up next, I don't know
that this is a laughing matter, but KT was doing
some research on the internet and he found a story
about why choking during love sex is bad.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah, love sex.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
It's coming up next.
