Speaker 1 (00:15):
As we told you in the first segment today show,
Hulk Cogan dead at the age of seventy one. Coming
up a little bit later in the show, around five
point fifteen, we'll play the audio the time I had
a face to face interaction with Hulk Cogan.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
We'll talk about him for a minute, because, uh, Hulk
is interesting.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Do you guys know his real name?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I think it's Fred Lenny, Ronnie.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Okay, Ronnie, you're on the right path, really, Donnie Ronald?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
What is you know?

Speaker 1 (00:44):
The fight McMahon's yeah, Terry, Terry, He's Terry Jean Balaya
like a Terry.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
What's his last name?

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Belaya b O L L e A.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
He was born in Augusta, Georgia, So yeah, he's got
like an Italian name that sounds like to me. Did
he play ever play in The Masters? I don't think
he ever played the Masters. Now, one thing I was
thinking about with Hulk again, we'll talk about him a
little bit more a little bit later. For me, you know,
my three or four year span of being a wrestling

(01:18):
fan came in junior high and it was old WF
Stone called Steve Austin Caine and the Undertaker. That's way
after him, right, Well, he was on WCW at the time.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
What years are we talking here? Your junior high years.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Two thousand, two thousand and one doesn't do Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
I would have thought he would have been retired by that.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Well, No, he was on WCW, but like you know,
he was hanging out with the w CW, the Nature Boy,
Rick Flair, you know those, and they were clean and
WF was edgy. Okay, that was the difference. Now they
ended up all good mining back together. And I think
there was a video game too that was WCW versus
WF right on like Nintendo sixty four was rowdy Roddy
Piper still around when you were hearing that might have been,

(01:58):
but I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
I don't remember that.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
He was so good when he won the Oscar for
They Live.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Yeah, but him and him and the Hulkster were big,
a big to do in the eighties. I was thinking
about this because we're talking about Ozzie from O twudo
five was on Meet the Osbourne's reality show. Well in
twousand and five, Hulk Hogan was on a reality show
as well. Ye, starting five, it went four seasons, just

(02:23):
like Meet the Osbourne's did.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Was it called Dog the Bounty Hunter?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
And what was called Hogan Knows Best?

Speaker 3 (02:28):
You watched that, Christina?

Speaker 2 (02:29):
I did watch it because I liked his daughter, Brooke
Hogan Brook Cogana, she.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Who ended up dating on the show and marrying for
a while former Cowboys center Phil Costa. That's right, you guys,
ebre Phil Costa. Hell yeah, because he was with Brooke
Hogan is the main reason I remember him. And I'm
not I'm not lying. He is the most country guy
I've ever met in my life?

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Is that right?

Speaker 1 (02:54):
I just talked to him for a minute, and I
was kind of I think this was as well after
they weren't together anymore, and I remember going, oh my god,
this is he talks like that.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
And you're from only Yeah, this is the most country
guy you ever member.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I was detecting the most I mean, I talked.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
We would have called him that s kicker is what
we would have called him.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
So I just wanted to bring that up.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Is he like the guy in Napoleon Dynamite that goes
over there, crazy country?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
I couldn't believe it. Man, I'm looking.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I'm looking at his uh Wikipedia just because I'm trying
to put the dates together, and it did have one
of his biggest matches, the main event February of nineteen
eighty eight. It's set American television ratings records his match
with Andre the Giant in February fifth of nineteen eighty eight,

(03:45):
when I.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Back with the Freak was happening.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
I was doing mornings with Soiroy and Danny Baylissened. We
didn't have many fights, but one of our show fights
was Siroy thought that Hulk Cogan was a top one
hundred famous person and the criteria if this is just
go ask some on the street in the world, do
they get a hundred guesses?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Would Hulk Cogan be there? I was like, there's no way.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
I think it's not a terrible take, brother.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
I think it depends on where you are, if you're
outside the sportatorium maybe.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
I mean, I think it's a name that's instantly recognizable.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
It is. I mean, it's top one hundred famous person
in America today.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
But it's an impossible thing to prove because you ask
someone if they've heard of hul Cogan, you ask one
hundred people like, how do you determine that you get
them to list one hundred famous people like I don't
think if anyone just sat down with the pended paper
he'd be one of the top one hundred. But if
you went up to people and you were like, hey,
have you heard of Hull Cogan, I think, yeah, it's
very possible he's one of the one hundred movies.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
But they're in America. You have to know about the world.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
You put them against someone else.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
You have to do it.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
No, no, no, you have to do it at three different malls,
and they have to be way different malls. Well yeah,
but top one hundred though, means there is a ranking system. Yeah,
so Tiger Woods or Hull Cogan. Who's more identifying Tiger? Well,
Tiger but in a but still that leaves ninety nine
other names. You're gonna have to come up with that
somebody recognizes and knows who they are. Let's give the

(05:07):
old Tom Cruise, Tom Cruise. Let's get to Sylvester Stallone.
No rockularly, I mean, it's okay about it. The name,
it's a better name, it's more No, but what if
we did it this way? What if you hold up
a picture of the person and they have to name
the person. How do you get to the top one hundred?
There you walk in with a thousand pictures. It's the
problem with the argument the first no, no, no, it's

(05:29):
why the arguments badass. I get a thousand pictures and like,
I have a picture of Dolly Parton, and then I
have a picture of a whole Cogan and I have
a picture of Gabe Cotter. I mean, we know it's
gonna go Dolly Parton one, Whole Cogan two, Gabe Cotter three. Okay,
you can get it, because it depends on the age
that you're asking as well.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Okay, so what did he exactly say? What exactly did
he say?

Speaker 1 (05:53):
No one could ever know. But I think he's a
top one hundred famous person in the.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
World because in the world forty to the Internet, Jesus
Christ is number one.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Okay, is it the history of the world and is
it the world? Here is America? If he's if he's current,
we have a crazy story going.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Well, Cogan or Troy Helen of Troy or Troy aikman
o tink about how many people watch football? Yeah, plus
the brand of the Dallas Cowboys. That's why everybody should
take less to play man?

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Is it ever? And was he saying of people that
are alive in America? You know, that's it. There's a
lot of wrinkles to this.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
I think the station's gone under, so yeah, you'll find it.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
We need to move on.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Coming up next and around the beef there was a
sixty person brawl and Katie has the details.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
That's next,
