Speaker 1 (00:00):

Speaker 1 (00:16):
I think Eagle, Yeah, we're doing it her plotting on
the dot and got a habit for my house a
gop status. How we're starting kid craddic show that up
multiply like a rabbit.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Tune ins out, break it up, eat the habit.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
I want to hang out with my friends. Rocking on
the radio, my hosting talking on the radio. It's time
to do this fonging call it kaj Christine all the radio.
(00:56):
Uh yes, let's go. We are off and running on
a Thursday. Thank you for tuning in to the world
famous Ben and Skin Show. Hopefully we make your workday
flying by. I'm Ben Rogers, joined by Jeff skin Wade, Kevin,
Katy Turner, and Christina Kray little Baby corn Bread Ray.
All hands on deck today for what's gonna be a
phenomenal show. Unfortunately, we got more bad news today on
(01:18):
the heels of the passing of Malcolm Jamar Warner, who
passed away at the age of fifty four, who drowned
on a family vacation. Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away at
the age of seventy six. We now learned today that
Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of seventy
one because of a heart attack. This is a really
bad week for gen X. I mean those are three
(01:40):
gen X icons. Now, Ozzy predates that, but for guys
that are mining Ben's age. When we were like junior
high kids, Ozzy as a solo artist was huge and
you'd come home every day after school and his videos
would be on MTV. So there's that obviously, league. I
(02:02):
mean it people of all different backgrounds, nationalities, races watched
The Cosby Show. I mean they were icons for sure
for African Americans, especially African American teenagers, because there was
not a lot of that on primetime television. And not
only was that on primetime television, it was the number
(02:23):
one show in the damn world. And then man, the
Rise of the Hulkster. I mean, he was definitely the
biggest wrestler of our childhood. I mean I missed all
that because I was into you know, the Von Ericks,
and you know I loved that. I love you know,
the local guys, and I think you know, this was
(02:44):
after that, right, and he was more mid eighties, Like,
he really was huge in the mid eighties, and I
dipped out around that time, so I never really got
into hol Cocha and I knew he was a big
deal though, obviously, and he was of course he was
in one of those rocky movies, right, Yeah. And he
also had a hit song in rotation on MTV with
I Am a Real American, which if you watch it now,
(03:07):
it looks like a parody of patriotism, right, And it
does remind me of idiocracy, you know, the idea that
a wrestler would be president, and had he not passed away,
maybe he would have been president one day, and maybe
idiocracy would have been true. But three celebrity passings. Now
there is a famous saying that, and we'll talk more
about whole COVID on today's show, which is the reason
(03:28):
I bring that up. But KT has this saying, you know,
people who code, I think they can do some stuff.
And I think about that relative to Las Vegas. People
in Las Vegas, I either think they know some stuff.
And when you see lines or you know, betting, and
you're like wait a second, do they know something that's
gonna happen or you know, the house wins most of
(03:50):
the time, right, And so Vegas is saying that the
Cowboys will miss the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Well yeah, I mean, uh, I think a lot of teams.
I mean a lot of people think they're the third
best team in the division because you have your defending
champion and you have the other team that played in
the NFC Championship game, the Commandos.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Do you like what the Commandos did in the offseason?
Speaker 2 (04:12):
I do. But the thing about the Commandos is you
have to remember that last year they had the most
fourth down I think, the most fourth down conversions. Like
if you just changed the math to league average, they
lose three more games, right, and they won last year.
But eighth, their quarterbacks really good, and they had a
Deebo Samuel if he happens to be healthy. Yeah, yeah,
they think they're still gonna be pretty good. I honest,
(04:33):
they're gonna better than us, though I think we're gonna
be okay.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
The whole reason there's any excitement around the Cowboys is
that they went and got George Pickens for one yeard
you pick That's it. Like, outside of that it's like,
there's not really a lot to hang your hat on
as to why this season's gonna be any different.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Oh, you just wait until five forty today, sir, because
I'm going to turn the tide on that.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
It also comes down to is it a bounce back
here for Dak We're he was subpar and then he
got hurt in the year before he was arguably a
top three quarterback, so we're not that far removed, but
injuries happened so that most of the Cowboys' success hinges
on is that gonna be more like he was two
(05:16):
years ago? Because if he is, they're gonna be right
in the middle of it with everybody else. I feel
like he could be that and they'll still be bad
because I don't think they can stop anyone. I'm super
worried about their defense. I don't think they have a
good defensive line. I don't think they have good linebackers,
and I don't think they have a good secondary. So
don't know what they're gonna do good defensively. I think
(05:36):
they're gonna be one of the worst defenses in football.
How were they last year? League wide?
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Do you know if I care when Cooper rush is
the quarterback.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
I don't know, no, no, no, I just met Their
defense was their defense one of the worst defense. I
don't even remember they had a ton in everyone could
ever know that?
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Yeah, I will say, I don't think they're any worse
than I think they're better than last year. So last
year it's so hard because dak to get hurt. But like,
what you need is like the Rangers were waiting on
some guys to get healthy and things like that. You
do need like overshown and treylon digs to come back
and be helpful.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
You need them to hit the ground running, like immediately
get back and be badass.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
But I think your pass rushing is like the chance
to be extra special. I think Sam Williams will be good.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Oh yeah, they've got good pass rushers. That's the thing
they have.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Let's see defense last year, would you like to know? Yes,
by scoring or by yards both? I don't think it
matters those things, Daddy. By scoring defense, they were oh no,
thirty first a right, Sorry I hit the wrong tab there.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I remember that they couldn't stop the run. Oh no,
they can't stop the run. Yeah, they can't stop the running.
That's a hard thing to be good at football. When
you can't stop the run, there's no running. Vegas says
the Cowboys won't be able to make the playoffs. So
all right, coming up next, Skin, We're you gonna take
us in things. Skin is tracking. You know what. We
(07:04):
didn't know that we were gonna start the show so
football heavy. But there is a big thing happening that
will change the future of how you watch the NFL.
