"Have you ever seen a streaming show get so hot it jumps to network TV—starting from episode one?"In this lively and laugh-packed segment of The Ben and Skin Show, Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray dive into The Office spinoff that’s making waves.  The Paper, a new mockumentary-style comedy from the creators of The Office, is doing so well on Peacock that NBC is breaking tradition—airing it weekly on network TV starting in November. KT calls it “excellent” and “just like watching The Office,” while Skin wonders if this is a first for streaming-to-network transitions.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Juicy news, hot gods, every stay on top in the woods, shovel.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Shut all right, alright, alright, have any of you guys
seen the Office spinoff show that's airing on Peacock called
The Paper.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
I don't even know if I have Peacock. I don't.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
I don't, But that's all that. That's as far as
that conversation needs to go.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard good things
because it's kind of like The Office, Right, you just
said it was an Office spinoff.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
No, it's the same people who made The Office, and
it's a it looks the same, it's just a whole
new cast.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Besides Oscar Oscar went there.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
So it's doing so well on Peacock that NBC is like, Okay,
we might have a little bit of a hit on
our hands.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Let's s break that out.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
So they're gonna break it out weekly in November starting
from episode one. They only made ten episodes of it
because it was kind of we'll see if this works,
and I don't think anymore. Very few shows do the
twenty two to twenty four episode runs anymore. But they're
gonna in November just put it on regular NBC to
which I'd say, if I'm a person who bought Peacock
to watch this show, and they're probably were some Office

(01:17):
fans who did that, I'd be like, damn it, I
get it for free like two months later. But guys,
I'm impressed. I was a little nervous about this one, like, okay,
you're just trying to chase the dragon.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
It's excellent, really, it's very fun. Does it just feel
like you're watching The Office?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yepkay, but it's you don't mean clearly you don't have
Michael Scott. Okay, and that's that was a problem on
the Regular Office. But they're not trying to do that.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
Are you watching it illegally? No, you told me you
didn't have peacock.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
I have consent, okay, yep, consent. Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
This has to be a first where a show was
streaming and now it's actually.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Going to That's what I was thinking. I don't remember
this happening now. They did this with Yellows done during
the writer strike. They pulled it off Paramount and put
it on CBS proper.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
But wasn't it like from season they started season Yeah, yeah, yeah,
but aired it in order, you know, week by week right.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
I just thought that was interesting that NBC has decided
to go that route. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Uh, so I'm happy that everyone gets to see it though,
because you know, basically, instead of working in a paper company,
they work at a newspaper and uh called.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
The Toledo truth Teller.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
But funny, it's uh, you know, kind of want to
be journalist and it's just it's just really good.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
So I hope.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Everyone gets to enjoy this exciting news.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Yeah, I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
It's got an eighty five percent on Rotten Tomatoes too. Damn,
that's it going. NBC also named or announced the first
host of snl okay for the season, which is October fourth.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
So we're about two weeks away. Let's go.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Will NBC make edgie jokes about the current administration? Is
a topic I gain it should be. Uh, I'm interested
to see they did hear our country?

Speaker 3 (03:01):
He just it should be. I'm from Garland, guys, but.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
You dare say anything about my guys. Very fascinating to
see how that works out. So your first host is
bad Bunny, but he doesn't have to do music, so like,
what a win for him? He's the host and then
he didn't it dojah? Cat will swing in there.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Did that have a song together? She'll be no, but
she'll just be purring around.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
You know.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Bad Bunny is interesting. I saw a thing Amazon.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
He did a live concert on Amazon Music in Puerto Rico,
like a secret show that he wanted so his native
Puerto Ricans could go to it. But apparently he was
like worried about having a tour in America because he's
worried Ice would show up.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
And you know, oh, tank illeagals. I thought that was cool.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
I saw Uncle Ed Barky tweeting about Bad Bunny over
the weekend. Ed bark is about it about one hundred
hell is Ed bark He's been around forever.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
He you know, I bet he hasn't been with the
newspaper in over twenty years exactly.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
So I was just odd to see Uncle Ed Barky tweeting.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
And I know he's been doing like his thing for
a long time, just independently. Yeah, yeah, but what's he tweeting?
He said that he's one of the good Bunnies.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Oh so he's a Bad Bunny fan. I know.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
I think he was just saying, like how what he
was doing for the Puerto Rican Oh, okay, having the
Big Concert live on Amazon.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Okay, I really don't know. Did the joke hit?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
The episode two's Amy Poehler And have you guys heard
of role Model.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
The movie? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:38):
I think it's a bad not the movie. It's a
good movie, though. I think it's a bad plan. If
your name in real life is Tucker Pillsbury and you
decide that your band name should be called role Model,
just go with Tucker Pillsbury.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Woo woo. What kind of music is it?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Alt, he's got a song. It's like something like Sally
I see Raphael something like that.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Dude, I'm not going after the younger demo in this
in this segment, I'm just being clear.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Although Ronald's twenty eight, so maybe I am. But the
Sally Jesse ropelcom it's not gonna work.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
You know, he's got one one catchy good song. He's
not the guy that's got the body in his tesla?

Speaker 5 (05:19):
Is he?

Speaker 3 (05:20):
No? That's D four VD. Okay, those songs are actually
pretty good.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah, well, yeah, a career cut short, much like the
Life of the Girl he probably killed.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Has he gotten arrested yet? What? He's still just touring?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
No, his tour has been canceled yet future hanging out
like doing some projects around the house. I suld of
got I see five or six new things each day.
That's like, yeah, that's incriminating.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
You know, it'd be weird as if he was just
out washing his car in the driveway right, digging holes
in his backyard, moving things around.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
There's a lot to look into with that, dude. Don't
worry about me, just doing some irrigation at the house.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
In episode three, Christina's favorite doing double duty. Oh, Sabrina Carpenter, Yeah,
let's go. Why did you hate another woman in her
prime like Sabena Carpon?

Speaker 4 (06:06):
No, because I'm a team. What's her name?

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Didn't she have like a Olivia Rodrigo? Yeah, she just
I don't know, she just annoys me. I'm with you
on that. Sounds like you're really on the team. Have
you heard?

Speaker 5 (06:18):
Uh, what's your name? Sabrine Carpenter's got a Nirvana cover band?

Speaker 3 (06:21):
That's really good? Oh no?

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Like all right, there you have it. There's the Hollywood
Shuffle coming up next.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
We're gonna take some thingskin is tracking well, Ben, I've
got a dilemma I want to share with you guys,
