Speaker 1 (00:00):
Come on, surprise, all right?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Uh, Tyler Booker is expected to miss four to six
weeks with the high ekle spring your rookie starting right guard,
so on? Does that hurt from a winning game standpoint?
It hurts from a standpoint of developing your first round pick.
I kind of want him playing. Yeah, the high enkle
Sprain's happened. Man, that's tough. Ceedee and Lamb a little
more questionable. It feels like two to four weeks. Jerry

(00:39):
would not even close the door on him playing this weekend.
But he's all the NFL insiders have basically said two
to four weeks.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
So it's weird to kind of push where he might
play this week when it's because I also heard they
could be injury reserve candidates.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
Yeah, which is four weeks at this point now?

Speaker 1 (00:55):
All right?

Speaker 3 (00:56):
And I know Jesse Holly was saying from d LS
that after the game, CD was in a boot. So
he's in a walking boot and he's already gonna be
back this week. Yeah, I mean, I just I don't
see that happen. Although Cavante Turpin was in a neck
brace the week prior after the game and then played,
I take that stylish for him though, how did he
survive the hit he took too? I know because he
is tiny, a little bity man. But yeah, the injuries

(01:19):
are stacking up. On top of that. They don't know
how to stop anyone from scoring. So to have you know,
if you're if your defense is gonna give up that much,
if you're gonna give up that many points, you're gonna
have to score a lot. It's gonna be hard to
do that. Without CD. It's gonna be hard to do that.
If your line isn't it full power, it's gonna be

(01:39):
hard to do that. If you can't score more than
one touchdown against the Bears, like they're they're cooked. The
only the only thing in the world that's going the
Cowboys way is just the reality that it's the NFL
and anything could happen any given week.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Outside of that, they're cooked. Yeah, and you know, yeah,
they're cooked.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I looked at something on and on I don't know,
it's like it's not too nerdy, so I'll make it quick.
But just in terms of like playing Manda Man coverage
where your defenders are just asked to like run with
the guy that they're covering, very simple Manda. Man covers
the easiest thing you can teach. Not the easiest thing
to do, Probably easiest thing to teach. Here's your guy,
stay with him. The Cowboys have ran that three percent

(02:20):
this year. Don't you think that has something to do
with uh not having Elam I think it. I mean
not having Bland.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
I'm sorry, Bland. Yes, well, we know that.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I Refluce's zone heavy, not man coverage, and that's fine.
There's one other team that's under ten percent. It's the
Raiders at seven percent. You're really and close. Outside of that,
A lot of teams play at least fifteen to twenty
percent or more man coverage. We played three percent. We're
not asking you to play a lot of man coverage.
We're asking you to not play it all the time.
I mean zone coverage all the time. You have to

(02:52):
change stuff, and I think they will. Shot he said
things have got to change. Like he said it, he
has to intervene. Yeah, he's the head coach. He has
to intervene and stop. I heard Jerry.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
This is part of this interview he did today on
the fan, and he was talking about look zone defense.
This is their whole strategy. They've talked about it all
off season. They're like, this is what we're gonna do.
We're just gonna bring four. We're gonna drop everyone back
in a zone and it's gonna keep the big place
from happening. Yeah, and then there's shot splash plays. Yes's
not stop the big plays. That's the thing. It's like,

(03:24):
I mean, and that's where I get into Look, ibra
Flus has got his issues, obviously, but that's where I
get into that. That's on the players. Oh, if you're
playing zone and you're consistently letting guys get way behind
you or just cruise, the seems like it's nothing. That's
not scheme. That's players having their heads way up their ass.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
The tough combination of a lot of things making you
give up ninety two points through three games. And will
tell you twenty twenty, Mike McCarthy's first year, the Cowboys
through three games had given up ninety seven points. So
there they have improved on that total. Finished that year
six and ten. Dak didn't break his ankle.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Though, did you guys see this kind of relates to Cowboys?
But did you guys see the Russ Wilson news.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Benched he's bent he's benched.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Okay, And if you I don't know, if you saw
the stat breakdown in the two games that he didn't
play the Cowboys, Russell Wilson threw for three hundred and
twenty eight yards and zero touchdowns against the Cowboys. In
one game he threw for four hundred and fifty yards
and three touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
And he's bench small sample.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Yeah, he just needed to keep playing the Cowboys over
and over and over.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
I just I just.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
Think that, you know, you you just can't. You can't
just hover. I mean, they have all these same problems
that they've had for so long. It all comes back
to Jerry. Yep, it all comes back to Jerry. It's
a flawed, broken system. It's toxic. It's it's dude, it's
it's cultural, it's it's it's it's a cancer that's within
their bones. They need they need a full on reset.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
And I you know, I think you've talked about this.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
You have and you have them for a while longer
at sixty million year, I don't think you fully need
to gut it and rebuild, but you do need to
just go refortify your roster with picks, and you've got
to hit on more picks.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
They haven't been.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
As good lately as they were maybe before the last
four years, and you got to go get some free
agents and they hopefully have some more cap space for that.
But they need to retool the roster, and I think
they need the best possible pick they can get in
every round of the draft.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
I know it's not at all what you want, but
just for the sake of football season content, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
They could be three and three out of this mess.
They could be Jets, Panthers.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
It wouldn't be.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
It wouldn't be the first time that I thought they
were cooked at this point of the season and they weren't.
And then they get they restore hope, and then they
are cooked again, and then they win meaningless games that
only hurt their draft position, and then the season's over. Yeah,
well it's gonna get The problem is that it gets
way tougher the schedule.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
So being November, that's right, He's right, he's right. The
rosters tomorrow, So we're good, all right.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Coming up next to local women are candidates to become astronauts,
and the Dallas Observer Awards are out.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
We'll talk about all of this moving forward. We'll do
that next,
