"Is Halloween the one night a year when everyone gets a free pass to slut it up?" That provocative question kicks off a hilariously unfiltered episode of The Ben and Skin Show, where Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina “K-Ray” Ray dive headfirst into costume chaos, local business drama, and the absurdity of social media narratives. From debating sexy costumes (Cupid in a diaper, anyone?) to reminiscing about past Pluckers appearances in eggplant and pickle suits, the crew brings their signature blend of irreverence and insight. But it’s not all laughs—Ben and Skin get candid about the closure of their original Rollertown Beerworks location in Celina, a move that made headlines and stirred up misinformation online. They set the record straight, revealing the real reason behind the shift to Frisco and calling out the dangers of social media speculation.

A lot of hard wood on Arbor Day?

Speaker 6 (03:12):
You guys know what I'm talking I don't.

Speaker 8 (03:14):
I think so.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Skin is a guy who will pay off a bet.
He will pay off a bet when others might shirk
those responsibilities.

Speaker 6 (03:24):
He'll do it.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
But it might be hard to get him to buy
into this, although he did do a show to pluckers
in an eggplant costume with KT one year.

Speaker 6 (03:31):
It's a bet, pal, Yeah we did that. I was
gonna say, well, I go as an eggplant? You still
have it?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I think I do?

Speaker 5 (03:37):
You still have yours? Right, Absolutely, dude, let's go slight
it up his egg plant. I sometimes throw it on

Tony?

Speaker 4 (03:53):
Right?

Speaker 1 (03:54):
I have a pickle because the year I went is
a big deal. I have more. I have Oscar the Grouch.
I have plenty of onesies that could recycle. I was
thinking about getting a big ear of corn and getting
a microphone and going as a pop star.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Don't get.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Are we still on the air in don't think so, man,
I think they just started running ninety two five on
both sides. Have in my defense, you have to issue
a defense. Twenty seconds later, I was thinking about it
the easy play for me, and you guys might not
get this ref I.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Didn't get the last one. I was thinking about just
getting a cowboy hat and getting a shark onesie and
going as the shark from toy story that steals Woody's hat.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
Okay, keboy Woody Hody Hody Hody.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Everyone would get it.

Speaker 6 (04:48):
Yeah, sounding very trump there, everyone would know do you
want to explain the ear of corn.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, a popcorn, popstar popcorn.

Speaker 6 (04:58):
Keep going, what does that have to do with the.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Deal headset, you know, with the looks like you're working
at a call center.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
So I googled this today and I was like, one
of the biggest stories in Dallas Fort Worth, and I
was asking AI, all right, I was trying to figure
out what are the biggest stories in the world today,
And it's interesting that one of our entities, one of
our businesses, is one of the top stories according to AI.
We even got we have this guy rad Messik who
sends out these emails to all the hosts across all

(05:28):
iHeartRadio stations. Here are some of the biggest topics of
the day. If you guys are just wondering what the
big topics are. We were also listed there. But the second,
the second biggest story. First biggest story is in ice
story right, the whole ice thing that happened here. The
second biggest story is business distress surgeon large bankrupt large

(05:48):
bankrupt ruptcy filings in North Texas. They were talking about
the third most active US court handling bankruptcies with assets
over one hundred mili. Here did y'all know that because
of Hooters, Genesis Healthcare, and Omnicare, among others. Okay, and
then the third biggest story local business closures and change

(06:11):
in DFW's restaurant scene. And I'm just reading this along
and it's like a long time barbecue restaurant in the area.
Meet you anywhere in Trophy Club, by the way, I've
al been there. I haven't, no no is meat spelled meat.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yes, I'm going to Trophy Club. I'll just be going
to Hutchins, which we'll be there doing our show.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
On the sixteenth. Yes, And it says they've closed after
nine years. And then it says meanwhile, in Salina, Rollertown
beer Works, backed by local athletes, is shutting its original
location due to rising rent costs, though the company says
it will shift to its new Frisco facility.

Speaker 6 (06:48):
I liked it. They think of me and you as
former athletes. That's a brewery we are invested in.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
But it's fascinating to see it in the news, and
then I see it all over social media. This is
what is so wrong about social media when it comes
to news and all of that, because people are getting
so much of it wrong. Like I see people hardcore going, yeah,
they were always going to close Salina, Like, no, we weren't.
We would love to have figured out a way to
have it open at the same time. And so but

(07:14):
I see people taking these hardline stances on social media
going no, they were always going to do that. I'm like,
what they don't know? But that's okay.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
I mean it's you know, you can drive yourself crazy,
but you can't control people just creating in their head
whatever they want to create, right, Like, you can't. I mean,
and there's there's times where I like see people debating
a topic and I'm like, well, that person just ignored
that very salient point that the other person made because
they just didn't want to hear it.

Speaker 7 (07:42):
Uh huh.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
I mean, it's just.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
Where we are.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
They're focused on their rebuttal But someone who worked with
you guys every day, I saw that over the weekend
that you were shutting down Salina and.

Speaker 7 (07:51):
I was shocked. Yeah, and I see you guys every
single day. I was like, I was not expecting that.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Did you read it as it? But you knew Frisco
was happening our first Sco location, which will open in
late octol Over. But but Yeah, it's it's jarring when
you see it as a news headline, but it's a
happy ending because the Frisco location.

Speaker 6 (08:09):
Is going to be extraordinary.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Yeah, it's gonna be fantastic and we'll probably be doing
some eagle stuff there. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:15):
Yeah, it's very excited about that.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
All right.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Coming up, we've got uh should should sheriffs be doing
bits on social media, We've got the new movies that
are coming out this month, but coming up just over
three minutes, where you gonna take us in things skin
is tracking?

Speaker 5 (08:27):

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
