Speaker 1 (00:07):
With with with I show you done bruing it you
exactly we pursuing it. Tunneled out Shaw shaking through the sewer. Kid,
Now what chilling that day?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Eagle?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Yeah, we're doing it. Do your clocking on the dock.
Got a habit for my house, a gop status. How
it started getting cratit shows that enough multiply like a
radit to then so out crank it up, beat the habit.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I'm on hang out with the friend's rocking on the radio.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
My hoo on Biskins talking on the radio. It's time
to to this sponsor all it we gokat just sing
up all them on our radio and we are back.

(00:59):
Hello everyone, It is the Ben and Skin Show ninety
some point one the Eagle. I am Jeff skin Wade.
He is Kevin k T. Turner, and she is Christina
Kray little baby corn Bread Ray back all that and
we are having a bendless show today. Ben is taking vacation.
It's the weird time of year for everyone because people start,

(01:21):
you know, they have some of the holiday time off,
and then Thanksgivings a whole thing, and then suddenly all right,
have I use my vacation days? So over the course
of the next month, you're gonna have jigsaw puzzle bin
and skin show. Like Christina, You're celebrating a birthday with
like a week off, right.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Basically, Yeah, this is my birthday month, and I've never
taken a birthday month before, and I figured why not
at thirty six, I'll start now. So yeah, I'm only
here for like two weeks. Okay, I'm out.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
So we have a two week December, Christina, what are
you doing this December? kJ Now, man's doing my thing.
You know, are you not gonna celebrate Christina's birthday. I'm
gonna come to work in her steed.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Steed like she's a horse of some kind. Yeah, so
Ben's off today. Uh you know where where I will.
We'll figure it all out. It's fine. It's not that
big of a deal, like we got to use them
or lose them. No, you quit panic.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
I get why they do that, because do you know
how people will just roll them over and have a
retirement early.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Oh my god, I would. I didn't use any of
my vacation the last decade. I'm off this year. We
were just not productive that one year. Uh So, Anyways,
that's the thing. But we did have a very I
had a nice long holiday last week. It was great.
How about yours, Christina?

Speaker 4 (02:35):
I technically was still working, but it was really nice.
I powerwashed so hard?

Speaker 3 (02:40):
What powerwash man?

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Really so much? Santa's Workshop, Little ice rink, she got
that power washing game?

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah, like you washed theut the side of the house.
You don't remember this.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
So there's a video game called powerwashing. I'm telling you,
is the you put on some music, you just sit there,
you powerwash. It's the greatest thing.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
What do you power I don't understand any power like
I just told these things.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Santa's Workshop. If you want to power wash a mansion,
you can do a mansion.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
So on your phone?

Speaker 4 (03:12):
No Xbox?

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Oh okay, so your TV screen. It wouldn't be that
satisfying on your phone.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
No, it wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
That'd be a little power washing. I'm like a coloring
but for adults. Yeah, I don't know. The last time
I played a game of any kind that was a
video or electronic game, I would argue, it's not a game. Okay.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
I think what she's doing, not that I've done it
or even really seen it, but I think what it
is is it you you get that feeling. You did
something with your hands, So you accomplish something with your hands.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Isn't that what porn is? Okay, but porn's fell way off.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
So powerwashing is soothing. There's no one, you're not fighting anyone,
there's no time limit. You just clean.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
You just clean, Katie, you told me that porn was
soothing and cleaning for you.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
It's not even more, dude, Yeah really yeah, but maybe
it's just I'm just too experience, you know, like the
way I feel like karaoke now experience.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah, like karaoke, Like I've conquered it. I'm good. Yeah,
on to the next thing. Is powerwashing like candy crush?

Speaker 5 (04:11):
No, No, there's really no strategy involved. You're just cleaning, man.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Just man. I think I'm tired of talking about it. Well,
you finish it and then you move on to the
next one.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
I get what she's saying, though, it's that feeling of
it's just like you and your ninety test.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
It's just like you bowling through your emails. Yeah, oh
my god, I have so many, so many emails.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Especially with Cyber Monday, Black Friday. I get fifty every
time I opened.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Yes, it's insane. I thought. I was like, didn't this
all go to my junk? I don't understand. It's crazy. Uh,
you went to a concert this weekend? And then I
went to David Byrne. How was that? He is of
the Talking Heads? Yes?

Speaker 5 (04:42):
He It was at the at the fair Park Music
Home i'll call it park. Yeah, and it was so
good and I wasn't gonna go. It was kind of
like a how's it going to work with Thanksgiving? Because
he was playing Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving? Okay, so
we always go to her families on Thanksgiving Thursday, and
then well my family was a little different when we

(05:02):
just kind of make it work and you don't have
as many people because you have to travel to Old Yeah,
just go about two hours west. Yeah. So we ended
up doing that Saturday. So Friday we were good and
Friday night we went and Uh. The only bad part
about the fair Park Music Hall, and I think I
could have been it was thirty dollars parking. Yeah you know,
but you don't love that. But I was not great.
If I was if I wanted to dig around, I

(05:24):
think I probably could have parked for cheaper. But thirty
dollars is fine. Walk in that place is awesome. Yeah,
because it's huge first of all, but you know it's
like the Majestic times five. Yeah, so like you get
the theater aspect of the show.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Now.

Speaker 5 (05:40):
I had very limited knowledge of what to expect here.
I know that he played a lot of talking head songs.
I'd seen enough setlist to justify me wanting to go,
had got pretty last minute tickets for about fifty bucks.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
But we were up in the top. Well, there's not
a bad sub there's not. Yeah, they're really Have you
ever seen a concert at fair Park?

Speaker 6 (05:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Yeah, so I saw the Lion King Musical there not
too long ago, and we were I'm always up in
the balcony, but you're right, it's always good.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
It was so good.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
And he does a great job of distributing talking head
songs versus solo songs that he might want to promote
because he's got an album.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Right, and I've heard a few songs off of him.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
Yeah, I've heard a couple, but it's not like for me,
it's seventy three years old, like I'm you know, yeah, David.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Burns solo stuff is I'm way more into the talking
heads of David burn solo but you know, he.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
Can go solo solo talking Head song that everyone knows.
And so the stage is incredible, and uh, I know
that on the night I went Friday night, they were
all wearing all orange. It's an eleven piece band, okay,
and it never stops moving. It's it's choreographed, right, Yeah,
So everything they do it's like it's like marching band style.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Yeah, and the stage is every song is a bit.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
I mean, it's like going to see if Flaming Lips
or Wheezer or someone like that who every song has
some bit attached to it.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, with the background of the stage and
everything that he's doing. So that was kind of cool, Like.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Fluorescent orange shoes and they're all wearing orange, I think
I think Saturday night, I think they all wore blue.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Did you ever see what he did on HBO a
few years back? Yeah, the American Utopia thing. Was it
similar to that? Very similar to that? Okay? In fact,
I would say, yeah, have y'all ever seen Stop Making Sense?
The Talking Heads concert film? Yes, it's incredible.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Yes, it's very good. And that's why I'm jealous that
I didn't even know he was in town and I
totally would have went.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
I would lay two nights.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
I would have gone again, and I it was pretty
much like maybe one or two switches in thisetlist.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Yeah, I would have gone again. It was so fun.
I would have gone if I can could have talked
my wife into it, yeah, because you know, whenever I
do have some days off, she's like, you're actually taking off, right,
and so and then I had a couple of MAV
games mixed in, and so she was all like, I
don't want to leave the house, and I sure as
hell don't want to go to fair Park. I was like,
all right, honey, because I was really strongly considering going,

(07:53):
and now I have what's not buyering remorse, I have regret.
But there's a term I'm looking for fall most that's it.
Like my wife wanted to go more than I did,
and then I started going. Yeah, he is seventy three
now he does not act like it.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
No, told some funny stories about going to BUCkies for
the first time.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
And almost actually way more outgoing than he used to be,
Like as he's gotten older that one time, right, Yeah,
And it was a really that's exactly how I expected
David Burn to be. It was really weird and strange.
He's like, oh, okay, but I've seen him on talk
shows lately and he's been more outgoing and because he
realizes anyone who's a Talking Heads fan knows that he
was a giant pee to everyone in the band, like

(08:35):
difficult to work with, would go in there and replay
Tina's basslines when she left, I mean just then, and
then suddenly Brian Eno worked with some of the guys
in the band when he was there's like, oh, I
thought I was hugging Brian Eno to myself. I think
as he got older, he looked back and went, man,
I wanted things to be a specific way. I'm sorry.
I was a big jerk and hard to work with,
but I had a vision and y'all weren't fulfilling my

(08:56):
bit whatever. Blah blah blah. Anyways, that sounds like fun.
I wish I had done that. Tomorrow we'll get an
update on what Ben did, because I don't know if
y'all saw his social media post. Awesome, man, he got
to live the Hollywood rock star lifestyle. Speaking of Hollywood
rock Star. Coming up next, I'm going to get Kati
and Christina's thoughts on the Legend of Eddie Murphy. Ben

(09:17):
Skin Show ninety one point one The Eagle. We are
back in the fold, Big Ben will be back tomorrow.
Coming up at the bottom of the hour in the
Hollywood Shuffle. Let's talk about some of these acts we
saw during halftime of the football games on Thanksgiving. One
guy absolutely shredded. We'll talk about all that, but right
now it's time for this.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
Skin Is Tracking another edition of Things Sins Traffic.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
All right. I love these kinds of things talking about
them with you guys, because whenever there's an icon of
my life, he might also be an icon to you
guys for very different reasons. And I think I know
how you guys will react to this, But I want
to ask you, Christina, just off the top, what are

(10:04):
your thoughts of Eddie Murphy.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Well, I immediately think of the Donkey and Shrek, Yes,
but very funny and likable. Those are my thoughts on
Eddie Murphy.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
The Donkey and Shrek is exactly where I thought you
were going to go. What about uk t one of
the greatest of all time, Nutty Professor and doctor Doolittle. Yep,
I knew that you would bring those up.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
He's the Dragon in Mulan as well.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Yeah, oh he is. I don't think I knew that. Yeah, okay,
have you guys seen Being Eddie Murphy? Yes, you've seen
it on Netflix. Have you seen it?

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Know what happened?

Speaker 5 (10:40):
What did you think of it? I loved it. It
was very fun. It was like, yeah, it was just fun.
Yeah it was.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
It's a documentary about Eddie Murphy. But it's one of
those where it's definitely an Eddie is great propaganda piece,
you know, which I'm perfectly okay with. Ye, I'm perfectly
fine with it for me. And this is where I
was really interested what Kat thought about this, because he
is so Saturday Night lived up. But for me, Eddie

(11:12):
Murphy was one of the first like rock star caliber
humans in my life because Eddie Murphy went on Saturday
Night Live when I was probably ten, and I was
a kid that when I was seven or eight, my
parents would let me stay up late on Saturday Night
and I did watch the original cast towards the back end,

(11:34):
and specifically I worshiped at the altar of Steve Martin
when I was a kid, because you can imagine, I
don't know if you I saw the Steve Martin documentary,
but you know, the arrow through the head, you know which,
and then making jokes about cats. I mean, it's stuff
that an eight year old thinks was amazing, right, and
he was the wild and crazy guy. So I went
from worshiping Steve Martin to worshiping Eddie Murphy because he

(12:01):
was amazing on Saturday Night Live. And then they even
talk about this in the documentary Have you ever seen
forty eight Hours?

Speaker 4 (12:07):
No?

Speaker 3 (12:08):
No, have you seen it?

Speaker 4 (12:10):
No?

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Okay? They talk with him in Nick Nolty it's him
and Nick Nolty and it's the first movie that Eddie
Murphy was in, Okay, And I can't they. I think
the documentary does a good job because I have very
i mean borderline visceral memories of this stuff as a kid.
I've told you guys this, If my dad wanted to
see a movie, I would go with him. So if

(12:32):
we were if he wanted to go see an X
rated movie, which he didn't, he would have taken me in.
I mean I saw a lot of adult films when
I was ten, eleven, and twelve years old, like big
time adult stuff a lot, and he took me to
go see forty eight hours, and I'm telling you, it
was like you wanted to explode out of your seat.

(12:52):
It was it was it was such a like I'm
telling you, it's a rock star turn. There was nothing
like it. And they talk about this scene and I
remember being in the theater and watching this scene and
the way it made me feel. When Eddie Murphy, the
premise of forty eight Hours is he's a convict. Nick
Nolty needs to solve a crime, so they let him

(13:12):
take this convict out of prison for forty eight hours
to be a sidekick. And there's a scene where Nick
Nolty and Eddie Murphy go into a redneck bar and
Eddie Murphy just takes over and it's one of the
greatest scenes in the history of movies. Like that's no
hyperbole because you have to contextualize it as this is

(13:33):
nineteen eighty two, the idea that a black guy was
going to be this big of an all across the
board star You did have Michael Jackson was starting to happen,
and Prince was starting to happen, but you didn't have
any movie stars that were black guys. Richard pryor kind of.
But it was different. This is like I would equate

(13:54):
Eddie Murphy in nineteen eighty two to I'm trying to think,
who is the biggest young star in Hollywood Leonardo DiCaprio
during the Titanic, When Leonardo DiCaprio was everywhere during Titanic.
That's what Eddie Murphy was in nineteen eighty two, except
it was a black dude and there was just never
anything like that. And so they do a good job

(14:15):
of laying this out as someone that grew up with
that and bought Eddie Murphy records. And man, I had
a friend that got to go to see Eddie Murphy
in concert when we were seventh graders. He was the
coolest kid in school because it was like, you got
to see Eddie Murphy, and so that was a thing.
It's really hard to describe how huge he was. And

(14:37):
then Beverly Hills Cop came out he was even bigger.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Well, and they get in there and start using guys
like Chappelle to help explain that too.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Yeah, really was really good. Seinfeld even yeah, you know.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
I'm not like a huge fan of or whatever, but
like those guys who are titans of the industry talking
about him, and how he was different. And then also
I think they when they went through all of it
and talked about him not having not messing around with
drugs or anything. But you know how Rick James and
how shocked they were though he didn't. They're like, so
many people have been ruined and he never did. I

(15:09):
didn't necessarily know that, you know, I assumed that he
partied a little bit, but I knew that he had
it under control. But no, I mean, he was around
people doing coke and he would just leave the room.
He said he didn't smoke a joint until he was thirty.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
I keep in mind he was on Sara Knot Live
at the age of eighteen. Unbelievable, and that show does
not exist without him. No, no, no, it would have
gone away. It would have. It would have because Lorne
Michaels had left. They brought in the new cast and
the show was not good. Eddie Murphy just saved it.
And then they get into Eddie Murphy being a strained
from Sarah Naight Live. But it's it's to good. I

(15:44):
think that's one of the rare things that I'm in
my fifties, So if you're my age, you know you
lived it. You guys are in your thirties and y'all
are the Shrek generation. So I think it's one of
those things that works for everybody. I mean, yeah, but
I think we're older than the Shrek generator, are you.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (16:01):
Yeah, I think people five or six younger, you know,
five or six years younger than us. My little brother, okay,
got me as my wife. So for you more nutty
professor and doctor dude for me because.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
That was, like you were saying, eight years old.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
Yeah, and it's far, I mean just the hardest I've
ever laughed in the theater is the nutting Professor a
dinner scene.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Yeah, it's unbelievable, and they get into why he's the
only kind of genius that could pull that off. It's
it's really it's a puff piece. It's fun though, it's fun.
It's on Netflix. It's not being Eddie or being Eddie Murphy. Yeah,
something like that. And it's like an hour and thirty minutes,
forty minutes. It's great. It is a nice uh, it's

(16:38):
a nice way to look at pop culture of the
last forty years through the lens of Eddie Murphy. All right,
coming up next in the Hollywood Shuffle, speaking of rock
stars who did it big time halftime with the Thanksgiving games.
Will break it down next right here on the Eagle.
Did I see we're giving away bad Omens tickets this week?
You are correct, Dunes, All right, we're doing it all
this week. You have to have the iHeart app, which

(17:00):
is free because we used to talk back function to
give it away sometime in the next hour. I'll go
ahead and say, well, give them away in the next hour,
but you gotta be listening. You have to have your
iHeart app and you'll have a chance to win. Bad
Omens tickets are coming to the American Airline Center. Crazy
stuff happened in college football over the weekend. We'll talk
about it next, but right now it's time for this

(17:22):
juicy news. God every stay on the top in the
shove Joe watch football and Thanksgiving thirty so hard. It
was pretty good, slate.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
Uh. The first game was the Lions and the Packers,
and we had gotten word you know, about two weeks
ago that Jack White was going to be doing the
halftime show, which is pretty awesome. If everyone on this
show is jaqueite.

Speaker 4 (17:55):
As soon as I woke up that morning, that's all
I was looking forward to.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
You didn't watch Jack at halftime. You don't watch the parade? No, okay,
hot smoky bear. I might have had a forty five
minute conversation with Gator about the parade.

Speaker 5 (18:09):
I didn't watch it. The highestrated parade of all time?

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (18:14):
People are watching it, dude, Jeffrey. They put so much
money in those parade. I do put a lot of
money into it. Yeah. Boy is such a promotional tool.
So it would have been great if they had giant
floats to promote the chair company. Oh my god, just
a giant Tim Robinson float chasing a Teca chair. Wouldn't
that have been great? The dog baby? The dog's name

(18:35):
is baby. It's word. Why did he get a dog baby? Okay,
so we got it, Okay, stupid, So that's great.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
And then we knew that post bellones to the Cowboys
game and they've been probably Little John is doing Baltimore
in Cincinnati, and I'm like, hell, yeah, let's level up
these halftime shows.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Yeah. I mean, look, I'm old enough.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
To remember where even in the morning game halftime show
it was always a bit lower production than what the
Cowboys do. I remember them running f and Vanessa Carlton
out there. My friend Kent from Forever the Sickest Kids
played the Detroit Lions halftime show.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Dang really yeah yeah? Are y'all going to talk about
that on the one Star podcast? Damn?

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Maybe this week we'll see what happens. Yeah. I mean
they've done some really terrible ones over the years. But no,
you're not saying Kent's was terrible. No, no, no, they
knocked it out of the park. But what Eminem like
it was announced. Eminem's kind of taking it over. He's
going to be the Charlotte Jones. He's going to curate it.
So I was like, Okay, we're leveling up this good.
It's on TV and everyone's watching. Why not do a

(19:38):
good one. But they're not going to make it twenty
minutes like the NFL. They're going to do an eleven
minute show. So I'm like, okay, he's going to play
three songs.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
So he plays.

Speaker 5 (19:47):
That's how I'm feeling is you know big single from
last year.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
And if you guys remember I had a segment where
I implored iHeart start putting that into rotation. I think
it's the most uh relatable song he's released in seven
nation Army. I believe that. How'd that conversation go? Did
you send the audio to I sent it to Amanda

(20:11):
in promotional Think Hittman got ahold of it? Yeah, I
don't think Pittman's got a hold of it.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
Well, then I'm like, okay, so he's gonna do that. Okay,
I mean he could go you know, it's weird, but
ikey thump. If he's gonna do white stripes, He's got
plenty of Jack White songs, but again not like top
ten charting songs, so I was a little interested in
what he's gonna do. I was very surprised that this
was the second song you did a deep cut from

(20:38):
the second album called Hello Operator, which.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Is a great song. But he had a specific reason
for this.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Yes times with the bell.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
About shut home film that I'm not killing him when
it was pretty bad as it was awesome. Sorry you

(21:30):
go ahead.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Well, my sister was my sister, me and Mike in
the living room watching this. Everyone else was getting food
and we were freaking out. She was like, it sounds
like that version is better than Eminem's original song.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
That's what I was gonna ask you, is he ever
wrapped over a Jack White beat before? They didn't? I
don't know. I bet they just did it. Yeah, I
didn't know if there was some remix thing or something,
but yeah, that was super kick ass as far as like.
The only thing I didn't like is at one point
Eminem stood in front of him and held his hand
in the air and I was like, you're standing in
front of Jack. Dude, can step over just a little bit.
He's like, I curated this. I chose him. I went

(22:04):
to lunch with my dad and my stepmom and we
were talking about stuff that was gonna happen throughout the day,
and I was trying to explain to them about Jack
White and the White stripes, and I was like, by
the time y'all get home, you know, we had an
early lunch. I was like, by the time we get home,
Jack White will be on and they're like who, And
I was like, just imagine a rock star that looks
like Edward Scissorhands. And they're like, oh, okay, great, I'll

(22:25):
look for that. It was dope, and they did seven
Istion Army, which rocked, so it was very very good.
Everyone's loving it. Then we go to the Cowboy game
and post mahon is a country star now apparently. Yeah,
so that was kind of kind of crazy. Whats but
knowing he.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
Was going to do the country stuff, yeah, recent stuff,
but I was so disappointed.

Speaker 5 (22:44):
Now those do the plants though, in the crowd and Detroit,
they did a really good job. We got the crowd
on the field, we got the plants, and so it
looks like a rock show and everyone's into it. For
the Cowboys. You don't really get that every year you
get the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Well wait, do you know what I did? I saw
on Instagram our old friend Avianna posted something on the
story where she was on the field. Really yeah, I
mean yeah, she's kind of everywhere. I'm just saying they
did let people on the field because she was down the.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
Plants though to like, I don't know, I remember that,
and the I just saw it was like, oh, they're
promoting the cheerleaders a Netflix show.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Cowboys are a promotion. The collvichies are the parade of
sports teams. There were some people on the field though,
so she was down there. She posted something so quickly
here So CBS did a halftime show, Fox did their
halftime show. Everyone's talked about John Madden a lot today.
Oh my god, Well, NBC, I've been told that Little
John's doing the halftime show at Baltimore. Now I'm not

(23:38):
telling you that I care, but.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
I am telling you that I would like to see
Little John perform the halftime show because I like halftime shows.
And they at the halftime of the Ravens and Bengals
do a four minute package on John Madden especially is
and I'm like, guys, he died two years ago, we
all know him.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
But do we do this every year?

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Now?

Speaker 5 (23:58):
I was told we get a halftime, they cut a
little John, we get thirty seconds of him doing Turned
Down for.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
What thirty seconds? I was like, this is a ripoff.
This free thing I'm watching is a ripoff. I was pissed.
You're like, hey, I wasn't gonna watch this AFC matchup,
But now yeah, they're God, that is good stuff though.
All right, that's a good report, Kevin. It is the
Ben and Skin Show ninety seven point one The Eagle.
Coming up next, a wild weekend in college football. We'll

(24:25):
do a little sports ketchup. Ben and Skin Show ninety
some point one The Eagle coming up in about fifteen minutes,
we'll do a little Christina's cookie jar. Are you gonna
get us all caught up on the rock news of
the holidays?

Speaker 4 (24:36):
You guys miss so much.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
Okay, Christina's gonna get us all caught up here in
fifteen minutes. But before that, it's time for this reach.

Speaker 6 (24:43):
Down and grab a couple of plump tomatoes. It's time
for sports Ketchup, Catchup, Sports Sports catch.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Steve up it.

Speaker 5 (25:01):
So we don't do this much on this show, but
I did want to jump in here because there's so
many local ties going on with college football. In fact,
tomorrow night, I think there's gonna be a lot of
frustrated college football programs because they're gonna be not officially
but kind of, they're gonna learn that they're not gonna
make the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Texas is being one of them. Texas is really up
in the air. Texas and Texas A.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
And M the annual tradition, you know, it's back and
Friday night, and Texas gets a big win over Texas
A and M, who had not lost yet. Texas has
three top ten wins, they also have three losses. Now
Florida their head coach goes, it's a disservice to the
sport if you don't let us in the playoffs. Well,
we chose to play Ohio State in Week one, which
he's got a good point, but you also chose to

(25:45):
lose to three and nine Florida. Yeah, so you just
kind of can't have that on your ledger. Now, for me,
this is all highly interesting and maybe for Christina too,
because we went to unt skin.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
You went to U and T, but you went to.

Speaker 5 (25:56):
Texas first, so your heart lines. Yeah, North Texas is
they won Saturday. They demolished Temple.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
Yeah, they destroyed them. Actually watched that game.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
Yeah, they qualify for the American Athletic Conference Championship game,
which doesn't mean a lot, but I'll tell you what
the American Athletic Conference is all of the schools and
the bigger conferences are taking their coaches. So North Texas
coach Eric Morris is now going to be the head
coach at Oklahoma State. He's a man, he's forty, but
he's finishing out his run here at North Texas. Tulane,

(26:27):
who they play on Friday night Winter will be in
the College Football Playoff. Tulane and they play Friday Night.
John Sumrall is their coach. He took the Florida job.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Is Pat He's not. It's spelled different too. It's very weird.
I did think that, and I looked into it.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
He's not.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
He is going to be the Florida head coach. Same
thing though, because they're in the American Athletic Conference, So
I staying coach. See, if you can finish out your year,
it'll be a good time there. Yeah, we're not going
to be back here.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
A couple of other schools in that conference too, have
gotten their coaches on and taking a job in the
SEC or the Big twelve. So it's kind of like
become These American Athletics Conference schools are like stepping stones
kind of. So if North Texas wins Friday Night in Tulane,
gotta go to two lane. If they win Friday Night,
they were in the College Football PLAYFF. I cannot believe

(27:16):
I'm saying that. How do you feel telling you? In
my five football seasons there at North Texas, I think
they won like five games?

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Duane?

Speaker 5 (27:23):
What is what is the Who's the favorite of that game?
North Texas is favored by three Now knowing that the
coach is going the quarterback who's a freshman. The running
back they might go with him to Oklahoma State. So
it's all in now and that is kind of fun.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Even though I think North Texas is probably gonna win
it all this year. I mean, if you look at
the other teams, dude, I think they're probably gonna win
it all.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
Doug, I couldn't tell if you were serious when you
said it or you're just but and you still care?
Are you being facetious or no?

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Why would you ask me that question? Are you being
a piece of FECs?

Speaker 1 (27:59):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (27:59):
Texas Tech is in the top five, SAMU had a chance.
If SMU would have won on Saturday night in California,
they would be in the ACC Championship game instead of
a five lost duke team.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Okay, they would be the ACC Championship with a chance
to get in.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
That would have U n T, SMU in Texas, Tech
in Texas, A and m IS in Texas is like
seriously on the boundary, like no one really knows.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Who do you think they're in? I think they're gonna
get in, but and I but I think it's who
gets tetchy? Who are there? Who's their main comp like
who's it gonna come down to them?

Speaker 5 (28:34):
And who if b YU beats Texas Tech, that's really bad?

Speaker 3 (28:38):
When is that game?

Speaker 5 (28:39):
Well, this is so this weekend's conference championship games and
it's kind of not needed anymore. Yeah, there are some
schools who don't need to play a conference championship game,
Texas Tech being one of them. They really benefit them.
Maybe they can get a bye. So there's a whole
story going on now. And there's a guy that we
don't talk about much on this show, if ever, but
it's interesting for this reason.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
His name is Lane Kiffin.

Speaker 5 (28:59):
His dad used to be the defensive coordinated for the Cowboys,
Monte kiffon Rest in Peace. Langkiffin is known to be
a bit of a hoe. He will sleep around and
he'll go to this school, and he'll go to this school,
and he'll use this leverage.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
Here to go to this school. And he had some
public drinking stuff, oh of course, yeah, which a lot
of hoes get drunken. So he's the head coach at
Ole Miss. Ole miss is in the college football Playoff.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
Well they are for now. They're in the College Football Playoff.
They're good after like the number seven ranked team. They
don't have to play next week. They are in but
he has taken the job at LSU and LSU's administration.
After a day of like waiting on him to give
his three or four days waiting him to give his decision,
he holds a team only meeting. Then he postpones it
a few hours later. All right, Finally he puts out

(29:45):
a pressure release saying that against the players wishes and
his wishes, he's been asked to leave because he's taking
the LSU job and he can't stay and finish out
this run this year, and any coach who wants to
go with him was told to get on the plane.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Wow, So he's taking the LSU job. LSU is not
in the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (30:03):
Ole Miss is in the playoffs now without their coach,
and because the athletic director had to go, we.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Can't let you stay.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
You're gonna just keep recruiting the same guys that you
have around and take them to LSU next year. So no,
you can't stay. But and now everyone on ESPN is
kind of being a bitch. Like there's so many like
Kirk curve Street is not hot. Take guy, say what
you want about him. He's not hot take guy. He's
not generate clicks guy unless he's putting his dog on screen,
and he is like, I think they should let him

(30:31):
stay and I'm like, no, Look, when you quit your job,
you don't get to just stay there like. This is
not how it works, especially in radio.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
Well, who's going to coach them? Now they've got their
defensive coordinator. Okay, Now players did take cell phones in
and record the meeting, and that audio is out there.
I didn't think it'd be good for this format, but
it's very interesting to me. Well, I think the bottom
line is kaw go North Texas.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Yeah, go North Texas. We'll be covering that story extentively
and exclusively. No other stations covering it here. On ninety
seven won the Eagle. Christina What's next in the Cookie Jar?

Speaker 4 (31:06):
You guys missed so much in the world of rock
last week, including Flea playing trumpet. I'm gonna catch you.

Speaker 6 (31:11):
Up problem.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Heads from Christina's Cooky Jar.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Jar.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
So I wanted to catch you guys up on my
favorite things from last week that you may have missed,
Starting with Sublime. Sublime announced a multi city concert, which
it's only two cities. That's happening in and one of
those cities is fort Worth. What it's called Sublime Megusta best.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
I like sublime, Yes, thank you, that's what it means.

Speaker 4 (32:03):
Sublime and Gusta Festival happening at Panther Island Pavilion May ninth.
I believe, Oh is that.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
When they do that? H didn't they used to do?
Is it called Fortress Fest or something? Oh?

Speaker 4 (32:15):
They did?

Speaker 5 (32:16):
Is that? What?

Speaker 3 (32:16):
Isn't that what the Panther City Pavilion is? Or am
I mixing stuff?

Speaker 1 (32:19):
I think?

Speaker 3 (32:20):
I don't really know. Like Run the Jewels is played there.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
I saw Father John Misty there. I don't think that
was Panther Island.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
I thought they did their own festival act, so it's
separate from this. I believe that's okay, okay cool.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
But these tickets are already on sale and right now
the only other band they've announced is Slightly Stupid, but
they're gonna announce more so right now, it's Slightly Stupid Sublime.
Those tickets are on sale now, and again, I just
think it's really cool that they're only doing this in
two cities, and fort Worth is one of them.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
The happiest I've ever seen our old Friendshippy, who's the
DJ for the Mavericks and the Stars, is when I
got him in the see Slightly Stupid. Yeah. God, he
was so happy and it's like, man, you are so high.
Have you liked the Devil's Letters you?

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (33:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (33:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (33:01):
And Sublime something else you guys missed. Flea started his
own YouTube channel and he posted one video immediately and
it's just him playing the trumpet. It's kind of weird.
It's he's in a kitchen, he's playing trumpet and there's
this little toddler sitting there in their highchair just kind
of look at him like, what are you doing? And

(33:22):
the song he does, I never would have guessed he'd
cover this song, and he does a great job at it.
So I wanted to play it for you guys because
I thought you'd enjoy cool. And again you're gonna hear
that baby in the background while he's playing.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
Baby, Oh Frank Ocean, Yes, beautiful melody.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
So he plays it really well. I had no idea
that he played trumpet.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
He played and I can't remember what song, but he
played trumpet on a James Addiction song on the Nothing
Shocking record, and I can't remember which one. It was
he got a three year old.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
Oh so that's his kid. Okay.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
A really good way though, to get a baby to
sleep is to play at Frank Ocean on the trumpet.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
Yeah, right in their face.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Every and those all those doctor Spock books, they'll tell
you all that Flee.

Speaker 5 (34:24):
Is a sixty three. His wife's fifty. Oh I would
have thought like twenty four.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
Yeah what his wife? Yeah, no, he's dong, she's fifty.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
Song is probably twenty four. Anyway. He posted another video today.
It's at Flea Official if you want to follow his
YouTube channel. I don't think he followers. But also apparently
he's working on a trumpet solo album as well. Oh
he's gone full and yeah, probably him just promoting that

(34:54):
and getting ahead of it.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
It's Flee the Andre three thousand of the rock World. Yeah,
two one four, please let the general know. Two one four,
seven eight seven one of them.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
And then last but not least. I figured this would
be a really good Christmas gift if you need some
Christmas gift ideas.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
Uh huh.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Guns n' Roses announced a huge tour last week as well.
Let's go and uh they are coming to Arlington. They're
playing Global Field at September.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
Ninth, September ninth, Global Life. All right, so Ben needs
to hit up John Daniels. Uh huh and find out
that he can get tickets to that show. Yeah, yeah,
that's uh.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
That is that like money grab thing or are they like, hey,
get together, new album coming. I always wonder that type
of thing.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
They did just drop some two new songs with that
as well.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
They're so hard to keep up with what they're doing
and not doing.

Speaker 4 (35:44):
You know, Slash is always doing these side projects, so
I think they're just like, hey, Slash, you had time
to come back to Guns and Roses for a minute.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
And let me see if I can find my hat.
Sure man, Yeah, very good, Christina, thank you. I might
follow that dong tube channel that Lee is and that
sounds really good. All right? Coming up next, Cooper Flagg
said an NBA record on Saturday.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
What was it?

Speaker 3 (36:06):
We'll tell you right here on the Eagle, Ben and
Skin Show ninety seven point one The Eagle coming up
at the bottom of the hour in the weekly weekday Update.
A local news anchor has left and she's gone on
to bigger and better things. We'll tell you what she's
doing on the national stage. But I want to go
ahead and give away those bad Omens tickets right now
in a segment right here that's brought to you by

(36:28):
our friends Frankel and frankel Man. Those guys have been
doing this for over thirty years. What is this helping
out people who get injured in a wrecker on the
job site. You need an advocate, you need someone fighting
for you. That's Franklin Frankel at two one, four, three, three,
three thirty three thirty three. And since they're sponsoring this segment,
Franklin Frankel want you'd have bad Omens tickets too. So

(36:48):
the first person using their iHeart app the talkback feature,
leave your name, your phone number, your email address, and
answer the question what famous celebrity did we talk about?
In the second segment at three fifteen, there's a new
documentary about him on Netflix. We talked about him. He's
an actor, a comedian, a legend. The first person that
can tell us who that was that we were talking about, name,

(37:08):
phone number, email address, You're gonna win those bad Omens tickets.
But right now it's time for this.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
Mountains around the sports k Queens has all the sports ye.

Speaker 5 (37:23):
So Friday night was MAVs and Lakers in La Ben
was there. We'll get some Ben stories from his trip
to La tomorrow. You justsed it because you were David
burning Well, yeah, but David Byrne was over at ten o'clock.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Oh, okay, you saw some of it. Oh yeah, I
was home for the second half. I thought it was
a great game. Uh it was. It was in the
third quarter. If the Lakers don't just go unconscious and
make every shot they shoot, then the MAVs have a
chance to really win that game. If the Lakers are
hitting half their threes, you're cooked. I mean, yeah, that's
such a good offensive. What are you gonna do? Uh?

Speaker 5 (37:54):
Luca had what do you have? Thirty five points in
that game? Yeah, it was Austin Reeves, your guy with
thirty eight.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Are you guys are realizing now what I was doing
last year with Austin Reeves?

Speaker 6 (38:03):
Right?

Speaker 3 (38:03):
Yeah? I mean he is an offensive machine. Nobody can
stay in front of him, and it's just it's all
I mean, it's not like he's a bad athlete, but
it's just all skill and the fact that they have
him and Luca together, Austin Reeves never has to worry
about getting the other team's best defender on him. So

(38:24):
think about being that good offensively and you're getting the
second best defender on you. Incredible, they got it. They
can't cover anybody, but man, they got an offensive fireworks
in that game.

Speaker 5 (38:35):
Friday night, Cooper Flag became the youngest player ever to
record Tennis system the game. He's right, then you gotta
do it again Saturday night playing the Clippers, and I
saw the probably fourth quarter of this game. I didn't
get all of this fourth quarter of this game. Klay
Thompson went nuts. And then Cooper Flag, with his thirty
five points, became the second youngest player to score thirty

(38:55):
points behind one Lebron James, and.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
The youngest player to ever score thirty the youngest to
score thirty five, second youngest to score thirty. Yes, isn't
that incredible?

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (39:05):
Look at him go? And it was.

Speaker 3 (39:07):
And so you know, the big MAB story from the
weekend is the return of Anthony Davis. So he played
Friday night, and I thought he played really well. I
thought that was the best he had looked in any
game because he looks to be in shape now and
you could see immediately the impact he has on the Mavericks.

(39:27):
He's on a minute restriction. I think you played twenty
eight minutes. Does that sound right? Twenty eight minutes? But
he just and then kid is mostly going to be
playing him at center, and that'll change the dynamic of
the offense. We'll get some Derek Clavely concerns. Yeah, I
don't feel good about that. But I'm worried that he's stress.

Speaker 4 (39:49):
Fracturing the bone spur thing.

Speaker 6 (39:51):
Right.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
That's when you.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Get big guys that have those kind of bone foot issues,
feet and ankle and all that stuff. It has a
tendency to not go well long term because that's a
lot of body you got to support with your feet,
with your skinny little feet. So I'm worried i'd be
lying of us that I wasn't so. PJ. Washington got

(40:14):
hurt by a he slipped on a basketball that you
see it? No, I did you see this?

Speaker 2 (40:19):
No?

Speaker 3 (40:20):
It literally happened as the buzzer was going off before
the national anthem. You know how they're all out there shooting.
He went up for a little lamp. There's ten guys
shooting at once, and he lands on a basketball, bouncing
on the ground in his ankle turns he's out tonight too.

Speaker 5 (40:35):
That's literally the equivalent of like the baseball players just
messing around in the outfield before the game during baking
practice and gets hit by a line drive.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
It absolutely what are we doing? Yeah? And it was like,
if you see the footage of it, it's not anybody's fault, No,
it's just anything can go wrong. Well, and the Mavericks
have just, I mean just the worst luck ever, worst
luck ever. No Gafford tonight, no PJ. Washington Junior tonight,
Anthony Davis tonight, they got Anthony Davis and you got
Cooper flag, you got Cooper.

Speaker 5 (41:03):
Five, which you know what, can I just say this
ball in his hands, he knows where he wants to go.
We're already there with him. He can't really get stopped until, like,
if he knows where he's going, you kind of can't
stop him.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
He's figuring it out. Think about how crazy this is.
Sixteen of his first twenty one games as a pro,
Sixteen of his first twenty one games as a pro
has been in the clutch. That the clutch is defined
as within five in the final five minutes that's defined,
so basically, he's every game he's played in for the

(41:40):
most part, has been a close game where he's had
to make decisions. Yeah, at the end of a game
to win or lose it. That's going to expedite his growth.
And this is why it's like, I'm not mad at
anybody or have your own thoughts about tanking. I just
think that the Mavericks are going to be by the
time we get to January and fifth February. I just

(42:02):
think we're I think we're gonna Cooper Flag is gonna
be really good. Ad will be really good. I don't
think we're gonna be able to trade Anthony Davis mid
season because of all the salary gymnastics. So what are
you gonna do. You're just gonna not play Anthony Davis
and Kyrie Irving and they're gonna be healthy guys sitting
on the bench.

Speaker 5 (42:18):
Today's not the time. But Ben's here tomorrow, and I
think it is a conversation for him. There are whispers
and rumors of the Chicago Bulls looking into him, which
have been a constant team for him. So I do
think there's a little smoke that we should be tracking.
But we'll get into that tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (42:33):
We will get into that tomorrow, right, Ben and Skin
Show ninety seven point one. They eagle Coming up next,
a local news anchor hit the big time.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
Who is it?

Speaker 3 (42:43):
We'll give you the details here on the Are You Excited?

Speaker 5 (42:51):
Featuring veteran news anchor kt fun tweets about two or
three weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
I guess this has been last month.

Speaker 5 (42:59):
Technically, Fox four had the retirement of weatherman Evan Andrews.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
All right, he does the morning show and he does
sidelines for Fox on their football.

Speaker 5 (43:10):
Now, No, it's Aaron Andrews. Different, different, This is Evan Andrews.
So he retired. Seeing you get a note on a
website here and there, dast Morning News might have gave
him a little story there. Now, when Fox four zon
Hannah Batta or Hannah Battah said that she was leaving
the station, you would have thought that she died. They

(43:32):
gave her a John Madden like tribute.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
She actually cut into Little John's time during the Ravens
Bengals game on Thursday night.

Speaker 5 (43:39):
Thank you Hannah for your time on the Fox four website.
I mean it was like a huge deal.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
And poor Evan's been there how long?

Speaker 3 (43:47):
In like fifty years?

Speaker 4 (43:48):
Yeah, she was there just for a short time.

Speaker 5 (43:50):
But she was there for a cup of coffee, moved
moved around. Maybe she did the show with Steve Noviello
at ten am or whatever. I don't even think she
ever had to do that.

Speaker 3 (44:00):
I think she was immediately just on old their all
of Fox's primetime shows. She was suddenly on the Simpsons
because she's.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
Good to look at.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
I was going to say, it's just proof that being
young and pretty is advantageous.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
And she was good at her job too. Every time
I watched she was really good and likable, and it
did not help that she's very attractive.

Speaker 3 (44:18):
There are certain people that show up in the market
and you see them and you're watching them for three
minutes and you go, now, when are they national? Yeah,
there was a girl and she was actually friends with
Hannah because they all they're old buddies now put it
out there on Instagram all the time, where oh look
at us. We're at a high rise drinking Cosmopolitans. She

(44:39):
spilled a drink on me before Hannah Bata has yes,
oh wow, uh no, okay, And now I'm blanking on
Katie's last name that was worked at far ingleson Katie Ingleson.
Katie Ingleson was here and she appeared on MAVs Insider
and I saw her for about thirty seconds. I was like, well,

(44:59):
I wonder how long until she's national because certain people
just look a certain way and you're like, the national media, will,
you know, scoop them up and they'll be there in
short order.

Speaker 5 (45:09):
Well, today we've learned. ABC News announced that award winning
journalist Tanabata will join the network to co anchor World
News Now and Good Morning America, First Look Dude alongside
now I'm assuming the sister of celebrity chef Bobby Flay
because it'll be alongside ABC News Sophie Flay.

Speaker 3 (45:30):
I don't know her. She joins America's number one news
network after more than twelve years as an anchor and
reporter at various local stations across the country. Yeah, it's huge,
it's huge. It kind of reminds me of Golly, what
was her name that went from the local news to
CNN Nora No, No No, And she was she when

(45:52):
shew Ashley Banfield, Ashley Banfield who then went to News Nation.
Is that where she is now? But she I remember
when she was Low News and she went to CNN,
and when she went she was real pretty. And when
she went to CNN, suddenly she showed up on CNN
with glasses. I was like, all right, boy, we're serious.
We're serious news people now. But yeah, there's certain people where,

(46:13):
like you said, Christina, they're good at their job, but
when they look the way they look, you're like, all right,
the national Yeah you're good.

Speaker 4 (46:20):
And that's cool because I follow her on Instagram and
I saw that she had moved to New York and
I was like, Okay, when are you going to tell
us why you moved to New York?

Speaker 3 (46:27):
And here we go, Yeah, what do we think is
happening here?

Speaker 2 (46:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (46:31):
And I've never met the guy, but you know because
I see him on social media, her shockingly handsome husband
who looks like, I don't know, private equity guy. Oh yeah,
I mean they just you people look rich and famous, right. Yeah.
They're always near a boat or a helicopter.

Speaker 5 (46:47):
Definitely, there's always some type of body of water nearby.

Speaker 3 (46:51):
My question is when does this air? Because good Morning
America first look is not good Morning America? Who this morning?

Speaker 5 (46:56):
Weirdly, don't ask me how I know it's Oh, I'll
tell you. It's because I went to the gym. Yeah what,
I flipped the channels as I'm on my on my
recumbent bike. Hell yeah, can you say that recumb it's
a recover bike bike.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
He made it worse.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
Christmas gift.

Speaker 5 (47:12):
Joe Buck was hosting Good Morning America with Troy Aitman.
The Dallas Cowboys cheer everywhere, it's so crazy. I saw
that our friend Avianna was in the Good Morning.

Speaker 1 (47:24):
Now.

Speaker 5 (47:25):
One thing that was confusing to me, and I only
know this because I tracked the affair from many years
ago at Good Morning America. Because Good Morning America three
had the anchor and the kill anchor who were porking. Yeah,
the wife was married to Billy from Melrose Place back
in the day.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (47:41):
I forgot about that. And then the guy and the
the anchor and the anchris.

Speaker 4 (47:48):
Why don't they call them anchrises.

Speaker 5 (47:51):
They need to call it an an chrias they had
to quit their job, and I was like, oh, there,
if they quit Good Morning America three, what's that one?
It was the literally the third Good morn in America
that comes on in the morning. Okay, you she's on
Good Morning America. First looks that comes on before Good
Morning America.

Speaker 3 (48:05):
She's on the early one. Did you see those two
people you're talking about now do a podcast where they
get drunk all the time and then they got married
and they start doing it. Yeah, like they were seriously
just getting drunk on their podcast, going, oh my god,
we ruined our marriages. I guess we need to get
married now. We don't have a job anymore now podcast.

Speaker 4 (48:25):
Congrats Hannah.

Speaker 3 (48:26):
Congrats Hannah. You never knew me, but I know you
enjoyed your time here. Ben and Skin Show ninety seven
point one. The Eagle Kat's got a fun new game
show involving some of your favorite music of the past,
and we'll roll that out at the bottom of this hour.
But right now it's time for this.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
Come on.

Speaker 3 (48:47):
Surprise Whoo. The segment's brought to you by Scrotine not
getting enough for your scrot all right, protein dude? Have

(49:09):
you heard of that product throateing no meaning in your
company or a whole other thing, different concept? Well, I
would you mention a competitor in this segment just out
of respect.

Speaker 5 (49:21):
I have the NFL Playoffs simulator up over at the
Athletic and the Cowboys currently have a twenty four percent
chance to make the playoffs after there is Thanksgiving Day
beat down to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (49:32):
So I was wondering what it was going to be
after none of the games went their way yesterday. But
it's okay.

Speaker 5 (49:37):
How about the Carolina Panthers with sharp teeth and claws
not helping.

Speaker 3 (49:41):
No, But you know, looking at the schedule ahead, there's
the way I see it. There's two sure shot ways
for them to get in. If they went out. They
have to win out and they could probably lose one game,
but it gets way more complicated, and and they have
to beat the Lions on Thursday. I think the Lions

(50:03):
game is now the most important game of the year.
I mean, there's a lot of things you could say,
and you could run the un run the table.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
You're in.

Speaker 3 (50:11):
Yes, run the table and you're in.

Speaker 5 (50:12):
My models would tell me that it's a ninety eight
percent chance you're in if you run the table.

Speaker 3 (50:17):
Okay, here's where it gets tricky. I think there's three
week spots where they could get in. One it's unlikely.
But if the Eagles lose to the Chargers and the
Bills and the Cowboys went out, they're gonna win the defend. Yeah, okay,
so the Eagles collapse could be happening, but did you

(50:38):
see the rest of their schedule besides that, you have,
but they got the bills too, so yeah, so charges
and bills they have to lose to the bills. And
the Chargers scenario is the Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert broke
his left hand yesterday and he was having surgery today
and if he can't get back in time, it will
be Trey Lance starting for the Charger. Dude, you can't
prepare for Trey Lance home. It's all kind of perfec.

Speaker 5 (51:01):
So the cowli are Thursday night this week, so like
today is there, you know, say, it would be their
typical Thursday on a game week, so we'll know who's
all playing probably tomorrow and all that stuff. They got
Trayvon Dicks practicing now and talking about wanting him to.

Speaker 3 (51:15):
Play, and all right, I want to talk about Trayvon
Diggs in a minute, but I want to I want
to talk about these right quick. I do for see
a scenario where the Niners completely fall out, uh two.

Speaker 5 (51:26):
And they had the going into the season, the league's
softest schedule by far, but they did it with the
backup quarterback, and everyone's hurt.

Speaker 3 (51:35):
But now their schedule is difficult because no one foresaw
how good the NL West was, specifically the Seahawks, I
mean the Rockies and the Giants and the Padres, NFC
wes sorry NL West. So with the Rams losing yesterday unexpectedly,
I think that helps because I think that they're more

(51:57):
likely to beat the Niners. And then the Niners have
games with the Seahawks. And here's the weird thing. Now,
it would have been better to get the win, but
getting that tie ends up being great because they're gonna
have one fewer loss than a bunch of teams they're
tied with. Yes, and the Niners, who they don't play
this year, they don't have a game with them, so

(52:18):
there's no tie breaker. If the Niners and the Cowboys
have the same number of wins, the Cowboys are in
because they have that tie.

Speaker 5 (52:25):
Yes, that's that's a huge one. And here's where I
want to do it this way. If you beat the Lions,
if you beat the Vikings next Sunday night. Do you
know started at quarterback for the Viking yesterday his name
was Max Brosmer.

Speaker 3 (52:41):
I never heard of him.

Speaker 5 (52:42):
Yeah, if you lose to the Chargers, just being realistic
here five games left, uh, and then you beat the
Commanders and the Giants. That puts you at a fifty
eight percent chance to make the play if you have
one loss and that yeah, now if I moved around
who that loss was, that could change.

Speaker 3 (52:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (52:58):
Now let me make the lost the Lions game. But
then you went out, you take down the Vikings, Chargers, Commanders, Giants. Yeah, okay,
if you lose that Lions game, but still go four
and one in the last So there's that's where it's like,
that's where that this game matters more than ever one.

Speaker 3 (53:17):
Do you want to hear the thing that Kat didn't
want to talk about?

Speaker 4 (53:20):
What Packers stuff?

Speaker 3 (53:21):
The Packers have two games against the Bears, and if
the Packers lose those two games to the Bears, the
Cowboys will get in over the Packers and they'll and
they'll have the Packers first round pick.

Speaker 5 (53:32):
It's all coming, dude, world right now, where the Chiefs
probably not going to make the playoffs. Yeah, where the
Bears and the Patriots and the Broncos are the best
teams in the league. Did you quite frankly they're not
the best teams in the league. We are living in
a world where if you want the Super Bowl, you
go get it. Improve you're the best team in January

(53:54):
when you make the playoffs. He's right, it's all there,
and that's what the NFL.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
You know they're for year it's just been oh, it's
a league of parody the last two or three years,
we've really seen it. I it's not fair to say
this because it's just dumb opinion. Man. I feel like
last year's Eagles is one of the least impressive Super
Bowl winners I've ever see hundred and because I remember
watching them all year, going, man, they're not They're not
They're not good. They're okay, And you know part of

(54:20):
football is winning close games. That's what the Broncos are doing.
The Commander's got screwed, Like did you watch that? They
had two horrible things go against them in the final
ten minutes of that game and still got it down
to going for two as badass.

Speaker 5 (54:37):
I've got some audio tomorrow too, as we really dive
into what the hell Chris Collinsworth was doing in that
game as well. Yep, very confusing the way he was
saying Marcus Mariota's name coming up next.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
Though, a couple of things. Why some of this does
bother me because I think Jerry Jones is getting off
real clean here, oh gross for doing the wrong things.
He's doing the wrong things right way though. All right,
we'll break all that down next in skin Show ninety
seven point one. The Eagle Ban'll be back from vacation tomorrow.
We'll have bad Omens tickets all week long to give away,

(55:11):
so they'll miss the second of the ben in skin Show,
but if you do, you can always get the podcast
on the free I heart app. All right, let's do
Cussing the Cowboys Part two? KT. What do you have
on deck?

Speaker 5 (55:21):
Well, I think like all of this that's happened, a
lot of it can time out to the Quinn Williams
trade and the bye week, yes, and helping fix the defense.
I do think Thursday night will be the night that
we actually learn how much you know, teams are like
really scared of the Cowboys defense because if you look
back at all the games, did the Raiders try to
run it all?

Speaker 2 (55:41):
No?

Speaker 3 (55:41):
They did not. They don't have didn't try either, right,
I mean, just take one Barkley getting ten carries, you
would have expected him to get twenty. But don't you
think though that when teams have tried to run the ball,
the Cowboys of eating it up.

Speaker 5 (55:52):
Yes, oh absolutely, the Chiefs didn't even you know, couldn't
get it going. The Chiefs throw more than any other
team in the league. Right, The Raiders didn't try, and
the Eagles should have ran more but didn't. The Lions
are trying to run the ball. So there's where you have.
You can kind of see. Okay, they're starting center. Now
it's a backup center. I saw they were going to

(56:13):
bring back the starter who was like really good, but
then he did a physical and they're like, you don't.

Speaker 3 (56:18):
Have a hamstring. Yeah, so they're not getting him back.
I thought he had he retired or were retired. Yeah, okay,
so the Lions are probably gonna miss the playoffs. So yeah,
weird still beat you. The Lions are good. Their top
wide receiver got hurt on Thanksgiving Day, like he may
not play. They still have Gibbs dude, and he's a problem.
So here's the difference though.

Speaker 5 (56:38):
At defensive tackle, now you have Quinn williams osa O
Diggi Zuwa, Kenny Clark, Solomon Thomas. Before the trade, you
had a lot of Do you remember Mazzie Smith? Do
you remember Jay Toya? Okay, that's a pretty big upgrade, right,
huge defensive ends right now. And wait, Quinn Williams is
their best defensive player one hundred percent. Yeah, like he's yeah,

(57:01):
he's a saying too where and I'm singing some Green
Bay with Mike. It's the thing too where everyone else
is better one of the good players there, right, like
everyone else gets to pad their stats.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
Right. And by the way, I know we talked about this,
but this is why I think you figure out a
way to keep Kenny Clark. Oh yeah, and the same
thing with picking and Lamb. It's like a similar thing,
just in a different part of the ball. To me,
there's no problem with paying your defensive tackles. It would
be a combined sixty million dollars next year. But you
can Clark's deal, Yeah you can. Absolutely. But even if

(57:32):
it was that, like I don't like, I'm okay with that.
Yeah you have, you'll have the money. What about George
Pickens And that's gonna be a thing. Yeah, And god,
he's fun, He's worth it, dude. I don't even care
like the action, give me the action.

Speaker 5 (57:46):
Yeah, Like, because taking his helmet off is just causing
problems for everyone.

Speaker 3 (57:50):
He's making everyone nervous. I love it. You're never out
of a game if you can pick up sixty yards
in one throw because one guy is that dynamic.

Speaker 5 (57:57):
When it pretty great though to have ceedee lamb not
be a bitch and like, yeah, go play well because
I was a little worried about the the thing there,
whatever it is. They form early though, they were to
make sure it didn't happen again.

Speaker 3 (58:10):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, he was awesome.

Speaker 5 (58:11):
I mean they had four past interference they lead the
league two and pass interference yards do they real because
teams are just grabbing pickens and ceedee lamb they don't
have to do Yeah, and like now doesn't even matter
who your third wide receiver is. Okay, it was Turpin's
kind of a waste of time, but now like the
year if he doesn't get on that fumble on.

Speaker 3 (58:30):
Thursday, Yeah, that was huge. And because he has so
literally hurt himself recovering a fumble, he barely could get
up off the off the mat.

Speaker 5 (58:37):
Here's where you started out at defensive and Sam Williams
Marshawn nelon Dante Fowler as a Rockuo don him as
rock with James Houston. Now you've added Jadave Young Clowney
a rocky starts now.

Speaker 3 (58:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (58:49):
Sam Williams has been good now that he has help
and he can just rush the passer and not have
to worry about the run, which is part of the thing.
I still am not sure that they're like so big
run stopping team yet because we haven't seen it, because
no one's tried it yet. Yeah, and maybe they're just going, well,
why wouldn't we just throw up these cornerbacks, Like why
would we even try to run the ball? The linebackers

(59:10):
are completely done, like no Jack Sanborn anymore, no Demone
Clark anymore, marisilely if Falcon barely get out there? Over
shown both Murray and Logan Wilson kind of fighting for
the job, you know, and shot He's like, well, I
like them both. I'd like for one to take well. Okay,
Sevon Ravel has been good, dude, that's a huge development.

Speaker 3 (59:32):
Yes, Ron Bland, it's been back been okay, yep, Trayvon
Diggs's practicing. I saw that. Did you see him basically
saying that it sounds like his issue is with Shody
and not the Joneses. Shot. He said that they've had
a good talk and they're good. That's what shot. He said.
Did you see what dig said? No, I did not
see it. It was more along the and I'm paraphrasing

(59:54):
because they don't have the article in front of me.
He goes, yeah, you know, I mean he's got his
ways of doing things. And then he said, I have
no problem with the front office. It was so weird
the way that he worded what he said. Shot. He
was all like, hey, you know, we're honest with each
other and we have an understanding of one another, and
he understands what we're trying to do. And then and

(01:00:16):
then Diggs was like his ways of doing things and
very weird. It was weird. We still don't know what happened. No,
we don't.

Speaker 5 (01:00:23):
The last thing I want to say real quick is
Malik Davis had a touchdown the other day. Is your
backup running back. I don't know if you saw the
video in the locker room after the game. Yeah, they
do the thing.

Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
Oh, I saw Shody, but I didn't see Malik Davis
had a touchdown and the whole like the whole team
starts freaking out. And then after that, I've never seen
Brian Schottenheimer do this before, and it made me think
that Jadeen Blue is kind of being He's being subtweeted here, okay,
because Shottenheimer goes and then he had a special teams
tackle and the whole crowd goes, ah from Malik Davis

(01:00:52):
to back up running back, uh huh, and everyone's freaking
out about it, and I'm like, that's a shot at
Jayden Blue. He did that for a reason, to let
Jadon Blue know you' supposed contribute on special teams. Gonna Like,
I don't even know what the point we talked about
him starting.

Speaker 5 (01:01:06):
For the season, right, shout out to a stretch all
a big reminder to not have September takes in football.

Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
Just watch the games and let them happen. Yeah, No
one knows what's gonna happen, and especially in a league
where I mean, dude, there's one or two teams that
you know are terrible, and there's one or two teams
you're like, all right, they're gonna be really good. Everyone
else is an injury away from each other. Sure it
really is? Or trade Portrade all right, been in Skin
Show ninety some point one, the Eagle Kate explain to

(01:01:34):
me what's happening next? Name that headliner? Those are the
rules next the Radiohead return cut reminds me of some
bad news for Radiohead fans. Apparently Tom York has a
throat infection and is going to miss some shows in Europe.
We actually have some friends that were going to the
Berlin shows. Now they're just the Denmark shows. But hopefully

(01:01:56):
that doesn't last too long because so many people were
excited the Radiohead was finally doing shows again. All right,
Smit and Skin Show ninety seven point one, the Eagle
kt We're gonna play a brand new game show. At
least it's new to our show, and I'll let you
take over from here. I've been sitting on this for
a while. So I've got a friend who I met
through a friend, and his name is Brian being Cardi.

(01:02:18):
It seems unnecessary.

Speaker 5 (01:02:19):
Brian being Cardi is a comedian, so if you ever
see that he's playing a show, go see him. But
he also made a game at this website where you
can kind of make your own games, which I've looked
into a little bit. Is a card game, and it's
called name that headline. So the way it works is
all these cards have decades on them and you can

(01:02:40):
just go through it. And if you're playing this, let's
describe it as US three playing We're all gonna get
to play.

Speaker 3 (01:02:46):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (01:02:47):
You take a decade, okay, and you just draw the card.
In the middle of the card will be the answer
as well as concert details who opened for who okay,
and then everyone else will get we'll say a minute
or forty five seconds, maybe thirty seconds to shout it
out free reign. And then once you get it, whoever

(01:03:08):
gets at the fastest or can finally get their wins.
So the year is the two thousands. I'll go first
in terms of I'm the giver, okay, and then well
then we'll let Christina give, and then you can give.

Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
Everyone's got to give.

Speaker 3 (01:03:21):
Everyone's got to give at some point. Everyone's got to
be a giver, all right, Okay? Can I offer an
amendment to this please? If you do not get it
in thirty seconds, the person can give you one clue.
So if you get it right in thirty seconds, you
can get three points. If you get it right with
the clue, you get one point. That's too complicated. Okay

(01:03:41):
unless you keeping score. It doesn't seem like it's that complicated.

Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
If you want to keep score, go for it.

Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
Okay, but there's if no one has it, then't give
the clue and you still get the point.

Speaker 4 (01:03:50):
All fine, I'm still not sure exactly how we're playing.

Speaker 5 (01:03:53):
Okay, I'll say here. The year is the two thousands.
Here's your clue. Okay, Red Rock Samphitheater, August two thousand
and five. Okay, the openers are the Fray and Soul coughing.

Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
Oh, I love a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:04:09):
Sounds like a Pokemon two thousand and.

Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Five Red Rocks. I swear to God, I've got the
clock here. If you want me to cover the clock
for Christina.

Speaker 5 (01:04:23):
No, no, no, shout out some guesses, go oh, it's
for both of us. Yeah, fire away the killers. That's correct.
And I randomly drew that. That's crazy. Okay, God, I'm
good at this game.

Speaker 3 (01:04:34):
I swear to God. That's very random. Like I've just
shuffled in front of you. I uh, so, do I
get a trophy now? Or when you get the point?
Do I get to drive around the city? Now? You
get one point? Okay, So Christina, take a car to
any car.

Speaker 4 (01:04:46):
Okay, God, this game, dude, it's so fun being in
here with you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:04:50):
By the way, Hi, Christina, how are you?

Speaker 4 (01:04:51):
Okay? I'm great?

Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
Okay? What decade is it?

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
So?

Speaker 4 (01:04:56):
This is the sixties?

Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:04:57):
You guys fine with that?

Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
Yeah, it's gonna be tough. So do you want to
go first? And then I go, well, we just shout
it out. Okay, Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:05:04):
This was Leeds, England, March thirty first, nineteen sixty five. Okay,
A lot of openers, okay. Martha and the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder,
Smokey Robinson okay, smoke your Robinson and the Miracles go together.
Earl Van Dyke, six Georgy Fame and the Blue Flames

(01:05:29):
both were all the openers.

Speaker 3 (01:05:31):
Okay, ready, Chuck Berry, Supremes, Temptations, gay, he said, temptations, temptations, temptations.

Speaker 4 (01:05:37):
Sorry, the Supremes, he said.

Speaker 3 (01:05:38):
Some prema's all right, and he got it. I actually
knew that Motown had toured the UK in the mid sixties.
All right, I'm gonna take this one right here. Ooh,
the seventies, seventies in I would be okay, all right,
so it was in the seventies, April second, nineteen six

(01:06:00):
and San Francisco, California. The openers were manfred Man, Bessie
Jones and the Georgia Sea Island Singers and Clouds. You
have thirty seconds go Grateful Dead Nope nope, Hendrix nope,
Steely Dan nope. San Francisco Bands, No, that's not bad. Yeah,

(01:06:27):
fifteen seconds, Bruce Springstein nope. Ten seconds.

Speaker 4 (01:06:34):
I don't even know those openers.

Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
Yes, seventies tough Man, Bad Company. Three seconds. All right,
I'll give you guys a hint. Is the clue is
their lead singer also played flute, Peter Paul and Mary. No, Liz,
this is a great way to end this segment. We'll

(01:06:56):
carry it over for part two. The answer was Jethro
Toll and Anderson play flute. All right, I love this game.
It's the Ben and skin Show ninety some point one
The Eagle. Coming up next in the big finish, we'll
play round two of name that headliner, Ben and skin
Show ninety one point one The Eagle. The segments brought
to you by Rollertown Beer Works. That's the brewery there

(01:07:20):
in Frisco that Ben and I are partners in on
Main Street. I was hanging out there Friday night for
the ut A and M game and it was so
much fun. What a great place, fun for families, fun
for you in the homies, great place to watch the games.
Big NCAA action this weekend. Go watch it at Rollertown,
Grab you some fresh local beer. We have great grub
there at old times. Watch the games. And then also

(01:07:41):
we're teaming up with Toys for Tots December the seventh.
We have a special deal deal that day where one
hundred percent of the proceeds go to Toys for Tots

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
