Speaker 1 (00:11):
You're listening to the Buck Sexton Show podcast, make sure
you subscribe to the podcast on the iHeartRadio app or
wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, everybody, welcome to the
Buck Brief here at the r n C. I am
coming to you live from Milwaukee right now. I'm here
on the convention floor and it is day one. Now
(00:33):
we are going to dive into the VP pick, although
I have to tell you I don't know who it
is as I talk to you right now, but I
think I do. I have been meaning that by the
time you listen to this, you will probably know. I
have been saying that it will be jd Vance. I've
just thought that that was the likeliest, made the most
sense to me, would also be my top choice as
(00:54):
a pick. I think I've said that for about six
months now, so we'll see. By the time this goes up,
we'll know if I am right. But I also think
it's worth noting the VP pick is not something that
will dramatically change the trajectory of the Trump ticket, no
matter who it is, And in this moment, I think
(01:14):
everybody's still more focused on what the future looks like
of this election, given what we know. Just happened with
Donald Trump over the weekend, a miracle that Trump was
not assassinated. And it's tough to even go back and
(01:35):
think about what those initial moments felt like when I
was seeing the clips and I saw him on stage
and I saw there was blood and I knew it
was gunfire, And we're all thanking God this week that
Donald Trump is okay. And that is a universal feeling
here at the RNC, that everyone is just it is
(01:57):
a pervasive feelings. We see each other here and we
end up wanting to just take a moment and say,
isn't it incredible that he's okay given what happened, given
the massive security lapse, which we talked about in some
detail today on the Clay and Buck Show, the Secret
(02:18):
Service with a truly awful and humiliating failure to protect
a presidential candidate. But here it is mostly the It
is mostly the feeling of a what a moment for
Donald Trump. For his supporters, the belief is that the
(02:39):
speech that he gives, there'll be one tonight, and they'll
be one later on the week as well. Tonight I'll
be announcing the VP, I think, and talking in some
detail about that. But I understand that there will be
a message of unity, and that under the circumstances, I
think is the smart play, the right play, And I'm
(03:00):
really looking forward to hearing what Trump has to say
about it, because right now the country, even though we
avoided a national catastrophe on Saturday, just by by an inch,
right now, the country needs a feeling of leadership, of calm,
(03:23):
of optimism for our future, of sound and serious governance.
And I do believe that that is what Donald Trump
will deliver. His heroes are here, his hero's journey of
becoming presidents, starting in twenty sixteen, when they said there
was a ninety seven percent chance The New York Times
(03:43):
said that on the day of his election, they said
there was a ninety seven percent chance he would lose,
to defeat Hillary Clinton, first time ever running, first time
he's ever in a major political contest, and then to
continue to govern through the Russia collusion lies, the Mueller
(04:04):
investigation hoax, two impeachments that were just partisan exercises, nonsense
for criminal indictments, a felony prosecution, and now an attempted
and conviction on complete nonsense, and now attempted assassination. Donald
Trump is the most incredible political story of my lifetime.
(04:27):
I don't know if there is anybody that you'd have
to go back quite a way as in history, I
think to find an American president who has been through
anything approaching the same level of ordeal. There have been some,
but it's everyone here right now. I'm just telling you
(04:47):
feels like something, something dramatic has happened to the national psyche,
that we almost lost this incredible leader, but we haven't
and he's here, and there's a real sense that we're
going to be feeling a whole lot better this week
(05:10):
about the future and about what is coming. And I'll
tell you this, I mean the Democrats already there are
reports all over the place that Trump is going to
win and they know it. Now. I know we run
until we finish. There's we know that everything is Oh,
I'm sorry, I just got breaking news as I'm doing
(05:30):
the podcast. It is Jade Vance. I was right, it
is jd Vance. That's kind of fun as I'm taping
this podcast that we find out Jade Vance is the VP.
Let me dive into my incredible prediction, if I may
say so, probably the best prediction of all predictions made
on the podcast. Some people were saying it would be Knowing.
(05:53):
Some people were saying it would be Rubio, but probably
not the best JD vance. It's JD Vance, everybody, and
I'm being serious, it is Jade Evans. My team just
told me as I'm recording this, so that's fine, we
got that breaking news. It is JD. Congrats to him,
by the way, that's an amazing wow. I was just
(06:15):
talking about political arcs and historical accomplishments and of different politicians,
and for JD events to be in that position now
as Trump's VP, Wow, good for him. Is an impressive guy.
I remember reading Hillbilly Elogy and thinking, wow, this is
a well, obviously it's a very good book, huge bestseller,
(06:37):
but JD is who the base wanted. And I think
that Trump making that pick to show that we're going
to go with somebody that the base wants right now,
we're not trying some third way stuff, is powerful. Let
me get into a little more of the JD situation here.
In a moment the VP picked while I'm on air. Sorry,
I know he started out saying, we don't know, but
(06:59):
you know, a good friend and business partner of mine
did something really interesting. His name is Porter Stansbury, and
about a decade ago I started working with Porter. We
did a podcast together, and he's a millionaire many many
many times over, and he's a guy who really understands
money in the markets. But he decided to cut his
salary as a CEO of a publicly traded company to
a dollar because he says, there's a better way to
(07:22):
save and get paid. It's a new form of money
in America and it's making some people wildly rich. Now
it's not gold or bitcoin, Porter says. What's interesting is
that while every American is legally entitled to use the
secret currency, few know much about it. Porter's hoping to
change that. He says, it's critical to understand how America's
new money works. I strongly recommend you check out Porter's
(07:42):
latest detailed presentation online at secret Currency twenty twenty four
dot com. He details how to protect and grow your
wealth in the years to come using America's new money.
I doubt you'll see this opportunity to discuss anywhere else.
Take a few minutes check out Porter's fascinating insights. Go

Currency twenty twenty four dot com. Wow, JD Vance is
(08:08):
the Vice president? Is pretty incredible. I knew what was
going to happen. And as you know, as you have
heard me say on this show so many times, it
will be Jade Evans, it is Jdvans. And so let's
get into this. Why does this make sense? A new
generation of Maga Maga, however you want to say it,
a new generation of make America great again leadership. JD.
(08:31):
Vance is a very high wattage guy. That's my way
of saying very smart. I know, it's like, where do
they get that from? I don't even know. But he's
very smart, very capable. He's a marine, he went to
YEA law school, He's got an incredible resume, and I
think that he'll learn a lot from being in Trump's
orbit as his VP. And I think we know that
(08:54):
in two years, I'm sorry, in four years, JD would
be very high on the list of people who might
be running for the Republican nomination. So I think it's
a really strong pick. Obviously, it's the one that I
had been saying should happen and will happen. Rarely in
politics does should and will coinside but it seems to
(09:18):
have this time around, so I will take that as
a victory all around. And I think this is great
news from the RNC, a great start to things here.
So yeah, exciting stuff from our sponsor IFCJ. Since the
start of the Swords of Iron war in Israel on
October seventh, we've seen death and destruction in the Holy Land.
(09:38):
For more than forty years. The International Fellowship of Christians
and Jews has been on the ground in Israel and
within hours of the war starting, and every day since,
they've been feeding the hungry and protecting the vulnerable. The
attacks continue in the north and the South of Israel,
but there are resilient survivors who bravely share their stories
in a series the Fellowship calls Faces of Iron survivors
like Shuki. On October seventh, Shuki saved himself and eight
(10:00):
others when Hamas invaded. Shuki and eight others ran to
a bomb shelter. All that stood between life and death
was the door of that shelter. He held the door for
nearly six hours, never letting go of the handle. Christians
like you support Israel to the International Fellowship of Christians
and Jews it's this support that helps these survivors remain
steadfast and strong. To hear more stories like this one

dot org. Well, a great first day here at the
rnc jd Vance is the vice president just happened while
I was on the air here recording, so that's exciting.
I we'll have a lot more news from you, a
lot more interviews, cool stuff going on. I'll get some
people here in person to talk to you on the podcast,
(10:43):
and especially at this time for our nation, my friends,
remember shields High
