Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
Third hour Clayan Buck Live from the RNC kicks off
right now. Thanks so much for being with us, everybody,
or for joining us in progress if you are we
have as promised Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, mister
Speaker honored that you'd make the time to tat with
us here at the RNC.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
I want to dive right into it.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
We all know that there's a lot of pressure on
Biden right now, and we'll get into some more of
that to step down from his own party, from his
own side, no matter what it seems. Right now the
place where Democrats are gonna perhaps we could call it
their Imagine no line, and hopefully it will be about
just as effective. They think that they'll be able to
stop the Unified government by getting a House majority, and

(00:45):
they're gonna throw.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Everything they have into it.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Are you seeing that shift of focus and funds already?
And how are you going to blunt it?

Speaker 4 (00:54):
We are beginning to see it already. Great to be
with you guys, By the way, thank you for being
with us. What an epic week. We're going a great time.
That is not going to dampen our spirits or change
our strategy at all. We've been working NonStop, guys. I've
done events in one hundred and forty four cities now
in thirty one states in the last seven months. We're
going everywhere where we have our incumbents, even in the
tight reelex and where we have the people that we've
recruited to challenge these seats and flip them from blue

(01:17):
to red. All the polling is saying we're in good
shape to do that. We don't take anything for granted.
We never will. We run like we're ten points behind.
We set fundraising records for the second quarter because everyone's motivated.
But this does change the game a little bit because
now the big Hollywood mogul types and the big money
is turning from the presidential resigning themselves to the fact
that Trump gets re elected and now they're going to

(01:38):
try to build a file of orl in the House.
As you said, so the challenge is greater, but the
game plans exactly the saying.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
We know there's been a lot of gerrymandering in the
House over the years, both directions, different states. How many
when you look at the overall map, how many addressable
or winnable seats do you see on the board? That
you even compete in either side. How many are out there?

Speaker 4 (01:58):
So the number has dwindled because of jerrymandering, redistricting. You know,
we're gone. Are the days where we'd have a forty
or forty five seat majority? Is Its not possible anymore?
The Cook Report is one pretty good arbiter of this.
We all rate the districts and R plus twelve is
my district. That means it's a Cook rating.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Right.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
They looked at the race this fall and they said
there are two hundred and ten safe Republican seats, two
hundred and third three safe Democrat seats, twenty two seats
in the middle They assessed at eleven lean right and
eleven lean.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
How wild is that that only twenty two seats out
there are really in play at this point in time.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
It's a remarkable thing about how politics have developed and
how the districts have been redrawn and the legislatures are
gotten so involved. But that's the reality on the ground.
So we're fighting tooth and nail for every engine in
the field, literally, and we believe that we can achieve
a ten or twelve or fifteen seat majority, but it
takes a lot of effort, A lot of work to
do it. We're playing in close to forty races. We

(02:53):
have incumbents who are in tight reelects, but they should
be fine. And then we have these other seats that
we think we can flip, and I think this is
the year for.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Us to mister speaker, you know, one of the big
areas of concern for our audience and for everybody I
think who is paying enough attention to it is the
national debt. Right we're at about thirty four trillion and change.
Maybe it's already hit thirty five trillion.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
I got to keep it. It's very close. It's very close,
thirty five trillion. That's a lot of money.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
We all know that government is spending not just a
lot of money, but too much money. I know that
we're always limited to the possible in politics, but if
you have a House majority, certainly spend. With a Senate
and Trump presidency, spending is a place where you can
really get things done. Where are the priorities for either

(03:41):
additional spending? And also where would you look or how
would you look to begin to rein in what is
clearly an out.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Of control debt. I don't think anybody can.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Disagree with that it's not a sustainable trajectory, and that
means the greatest national security threat is not China, Rush
air run or North three, it's the debt. I mean,
that's what the Pentagon will tell you that we all
know intuitively we have to fix this. The way to
do it is to use that word you just said, priorities.
We have to prioritize national defense right now because we're
in the most dangerous arisonce World War two domestically and

(04:11):
of course internationally because the weakness that Biden has put
on the world stage.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
So you have to do that.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
First, you got to secure the border, You got to
take care of your country. But then also you look
at a combination of spending cuts tax cuts. At the
same time, you have to juice the economy. The way
you do that is you reduce the regulatory burden and
you reduce the tax burden on the people who are
the job creators, the innovators, and the risk takers those
in the economy to get the economy going.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
We did this already.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Remember at the first two years of the Trump administration,
we had the greatest economy in the history of the world,
not just the US, because we implemented, those policies will
get right.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Back to it.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
So you have to have a pro growth agenda and
you have to cut spending at the same time. It's
not only possible, it's necessary. Now we have to do it.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
By the grace of God, President Trump is okay, and
we're going to be able to watch him speak tonights Saturday.
I think everyone out there heart stopped watching what occurred.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Where were you?

Speaker 5 (05:03):
I'm curious on your experience that day because you're just
a few steps away from being president right now with
what's going on with Biden and Kamalin the succession, but also,
how in the world does the Secret Service head still
have her job? Can you believe, as more of these
details have come out that she is still employed.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Let me address the second part first, it's absolutely outrageous.
I called for the resignation of the Secret Service director
Cheetle yesterday, and today I called the White House and
I told President Biden through his people, they won't let
me talk to him today. I can't can't imagine why
that he should fire her. He needs to the buck stops. Ultimately,
he's the response.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
By the way, when you call the White House and
you say she's clearly not going to do the right
thing and resign. Biden won't fire anybody. But you call
the White House and you say she has to be fired.
You're not talking to Biden himself.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
What do they say.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
I say, you need to communicate this to the President
on behalf, the Speaker of the House. I call you
into good faith, I always do. I think this would
be good for him politically. I agree right now.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Whift on that, and he whiffed on a real message
of unity and Americanism right after the shooting.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
I don't know if this was an assassination. Believe it's outrageous.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
You probably would have the same perspective if a bullet
had buzzed Biden's hit.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
It's a failure of the Secret Service, no matter who
the person, non partisan issue there must be. And to
that point, I've set up a task force. It will
be bipartisan.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
We're going to strike with precision and get this done
and get the facts of the American people. We have to,
because conspiracy theories are thirsting right now.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
No doubt.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Now, I know you perhaps don't want to tip your
hand to the other side here, but I am curious.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
To the degree you are comfortable willing to speak to it.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
What's better for the Democrats in these tight house races,
Biden stays.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Biden goes, I.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Think at this point they're looking at the same odds
you are at Vegas. I think they're ready for him
to go because it has a terrible down ballid effect.
There won't be as a big of a turnout on
their side. They're terrified about that, and I think that
they're just they don't know what to do. I mean, guys,
it was such an interesting phenomenon on Capitol Hill last week.
I had two whole days unimpeded where I could walk

(07:11):
through the hallways without being accosted by media sticking microphones
and cameras in my face.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Where are they?

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Oh, they're chasing the Democrats for a chance. They had
to introduce themselves to our Democrat colleagues. They never asked
them tough questions. I called HACKEM Jeffrey's and my friend,
a Democrat leader. I said, how's it feel, bro? You know,
so I got a little reprieve. We kind of like this,
but look, it's a serious problem, and that's why they're
in such a panic. They do not know they don't
have a viable plan B. They run Kamala and whomever
she puts on that ticket. We like those odds too.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
So I asked the question, I'm glad that you have
called the White House and said the Secret Service director
has to be gone. Where were you Saturday and what
was your reaction to what you have seen come out?

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Since I had a rare Saturday. I was actually home
in Louisiana. We were preparing for this because I was
cheering the convention. I'm going through the notes we have
that on in the background, and I've been to some
of these rallies, as y'all have. You know, I know
the speed each But one of my kids gasps is,
said dad, and we looked up and it happened, and
we stood there frozen in the living room for twenty minutes.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
As soon as we realized that.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
He was okay, I immediately thought of the story of
George Washington, the bulletproof President. We used to call it,
Carson and told me to talk about it was I
was talking with him about, Yeah, it's remarkable, and the
thing is, and I told Doud Carson this. You know,
if you go back and look at the story, it
happened less than fifty miles from where Donald Trump was.
His assassination was attempted also in July, also in Pennsylvania.

(08:30):
I mean, you could say that's coincidence. I say it's providence.
And I think I think President Trump is thinking about
it the same way. His head and his heart are
in exactly where we would want them to be right now,
and I think the speech to night's going to be epic.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Well, we're looking forward to it as well, mister Speaker.
Appreciate you making the time for us here.

Speaker 6 (08:47):
It is.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
It's a blessed week. You know, it's been great for
an R and C, but it actually actually has just
been great for the country too. That we all dodged
a bullet in a sense, we did as a nation.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
It's not an overstatement. And you hear two major themes here.
Unity is the main theme, and we feel that and
it's electric and you can feel it. You feel it
out in the country right now, in our party and beyond,
but also providence.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Both of those things.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
And it's a really important time to be an American
and a great time to be a Republican.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Misspeaker, please come back again soon.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
We're gonna have a lot to talk about here with
the upcoming house battle, because we think that that's where.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
The money's going, right, the real right, keep praying, we'll
keep working. Got to stay on that one.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
You know, it takes a confident person to say, I'm
gonna intentionally, as the CEO of a publicly traded company
who can get a big salary, take one dollar a
year in salary. But my friend, entrepreneur and investor Porter
Stansbury has done exactly that. Why did Porter make this
decision as the CEO of this very profitable financial research

(09:45):
firm to cut his salary all that way. Well, he
has a good reason for it. He thinks there's a
better way to compensate himself. And why does this matter
to you, Well, because he thinks you can do the same.
Thousands and thousands of Americans in different full time roles
have become compensated or start to become compensated in this new,
not so well known currency form, but a lot of people,

(10:06):
most people don't know very much about it. Porter's hoping
to change that. It's critical that you understand how America's
new money works. Check out Porter's latest detailed presentation online
at Secretcurrency twenty twenty four dot com. You're not gonna
see this opportunity discussed anywhere else. Go to secret Currency

Speaker 3 (10:43):
What Amucket play? Travis Buck Sexton Show Final Hour, We're
I Say the straight Face.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
We're joined now by Jesse Kelly, who has pronounced himself
Sunglasses indoors guy and is doing this interview.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
For those of you watching on video. In sunglass is
Tom Cruise and jerryman Guire except eight feet.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
So I want to start with one compliment before I
have a criticism. While you are rapidly balding. A while
you are rapidly balding, I am actually impressed. You have
your hair cut short. You have a better hairline than
I was anticipating. So I want to start with praise.

(11:21):
The hairline is not collapsing as quickly as I thought
based on all of the public commentary, So I'm giving
you compliment. I understand why you would go sunglasses inside,
because then people don't notice how quick your hair is balding.
That's a strategic play. I don't I don't hate it,
so you can respond to that in a second. But
also the attack on ordering Brussels sprouts, I got to

(11:43):
be honest, I did not see it.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
It was the pearl Harbor of food order attacks gone viral,
like everybody's weighing in.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
I didn't even think russels sprouts were an unacceptable order
for a man.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
They were delicious, so well.

Speaker 7 (11:59):
Okay, First of all, the hairline I had to I
had to make the choice many men have had to make.
When do you rip the cord? When do you pull
the parachute cord? It was fading. The hairline in the
front was retreating towards my ears. And look, the bottom
line is, you want to get out too early, not
too late.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
I agree, we want to be out too early, not
too late.

Speaker 7 (12:18):
And I'm so naturally handsome anyway. I didn't need hair.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
I don't need hair, just like superfluous free air attract well,
of course, if you you'd be in deep trouble, it
would be me.

Speaker 7 (12:30):
I don't need it, really, I don't even really need
a body, and you have a face like this, that's
one too. Don't ever try to defend Brussels sprouts to
me again. You sit down in a restaurant with within
the things like there was ARTI choke dip on there,
there were all kinds of cheesy items and savory items,
and you ordered the thing some vegan chick would order,
and you're the one who ordered it, and you it

(12:51):
was like for the table too, and you notice everyone people.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
I thought I was being selfless?

Speaker 5 (12:55):
Did you expect me to be attacked for the Brussels
sprouts to order?

Speaker 2 (12:58):
I feel like I'm caught in the middle here because
I got to back my partner's play. So I did
eat some of said Brussels spray. They were somewhat delicious. However,
would it be my go to for the appetite? People
have pointed this out. Appetize around not side order with
your steak, for example, do you go Brussels right up front?

Speaker 3 (13:17):
I will say it's not a full.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Communist move, but it's definitely socialism in the direction of community.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
I ordered five appetizers for the whole table. Again, selfless
generosity for me, and I just I'm gonna die on
Brussels sprouts Hill, because I don't think it's about you want.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
To point out that that the the situation here or
such that Jesse Kelly was invited to the Clay Travis
Extravaganza last night because of the JD vance bet and
Jesse said, I'm not eating any of that fancy craft.
I'm just going to a chicken wings stand, and that
is what he did.

Speaker 7 (13:49):
So is this a man who really knows food? I
put it to the jury. I am the menu whisper
one and two. Don't defend Brussels sprouts when you do
this thing everyone does.

Speaker 6 (13:58):
No.

Speaker 7 (13:58):
No, they're deep fried. No, we put we put bacon
in there. Yes, you could take Rachel Levine's jockstrap in
deep fry it and put bacon on it and it
would taste good.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
That's not a defense of Brussels sprouts. If you have
to deep fright and put bacon on it, it sucks.
I'm speechless right now. What do you got on?

Speaker 5 (14:16):
I'm just I can't take my mind off the jockstrap thought.
Now for a minute, I will say, I'm I'm gonna
I'm gonna put it on a whole Well, are.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
We doing, Buck Island now talking about how clown's over here.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Now we can come together having they've.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Been short selling the Buck Island stock for quite some
time with this.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Whole Oh, it's not gonna be Biden. It's not gonna
be Biden.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
I understand you guys want to spike the football today,
but I'm just telling you, old man Biden still has
like a one to thousand shot of stepping in. And
I am not gonna bend until I am broken.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Jesse to, You're gonna be the last guy on the isle.

Speaker 7 (14:54):
Isn't it adorable to watch him hang on to the
final shred of hole Buck?

Speaker 6 (14:59):
Just let it go, Just let it go.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
No one's gonna judge you. Are we gonna make fun
of you? Yes?

Speaker 7 (15:03):
Are you gonna be forced to buy me red lobster
and tie a bib on me?

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Of course that is the bet. That was the bet.

Speaker 7 (15:10):
Now you are already cooked, my friend. Well, look in
all seriousness, we talked about this a little bit last
night over a couple of beers. They've gone public. Powerful
democrats have gone public. And that's the thing. And you know,
if you if you say he's gonna stay in, how
do you come back from Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff.
How do you come back from them publicly saying you've

(15:32):
got to go?

Speaker 3 (15:33):
I just I don't see.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Let's just continue in this fantasy land if you two
are right and I buck wrong on this one. Do
you think the five families that we've been calling them,
you know, Schumer, Pelosi, Omama, probably the Clintons in there,
almost his five families? Do they know who should take over?

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Is it just Kamala?

Speaker 7 (15:49):
I think they're making a calculation now, not for the
White House anymore, although they want to keep it. I
think the calculation is purely for the Senate and the
House now. I think they are really really afraid of
a public Republicans having when you abandon your base and
you're actually blowing up your own munitions and just hoping.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Okay, exactly right.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
I think they're gonna move on from Kamala too, because
they don't think she can win. But Buck back to
Buck Island. You guys are history people. Buck is going
to be like the guy living in the Pacific Islands
who don't know World War two end well, the Japanese soldier,
the guy last guy on the island who's still there fighting.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
World War Two's over like that, guys to lost.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
He didn't even know the war was over. He was
still fighting. This is where you are right now. Eighty
percent chance. By the way, gambling odds, Biden's done okay,
so you can basically get him four to one to
even stay in the race to win.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Six percent, you.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
Can get basically fifteen to one Joe Biden wins the
twenty twenty four election right now.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
That's just as we are speaking the live odds.

Speaker 7 (16:52):
The only reason you can't see this clearly buck because
you don't have sunglasses on me.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
I see everything more feet tall. There are people that
can actually block I do Jesse. It's funny when Jesse
walks into the r n C. The good news is
he's not hard to find for the radio hit. But
also I don't want any crap from anybody on social
media because we're taking a photo with Jesse. Clay and
I are not four feet tall. Yes, we are both
barely six feet. Jesse just happens to be bigger than Bigfoot, so.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Don't give us this club. I thought you guys were taller.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
I also will point out Jesse didn't buy any alcohol
again last night.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Sprouts for the table.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
I also bought all the beer and liquor last night,
gave my credit card over selflessly, because I am a
giver for all.

Speaker 7 (17:38):
That's part of the reason I'm so mad about the
Brussels sprouts I.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Bought that night.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
They would like to do this, well, iHeart bought, but
you gave an iHeart crime. By the way, you guys,
but have I Heart credit cards, you have expense accounts.
I'm the only person at iHeart who doesn't have an
Ieheart credit card.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
And I still have piggybanks we're saving.

Speaker 5 (17:58):
How am I the only person on the Aaron iHeart
that doesn't have a credit card?

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Mark Cuban with an extra This guy's got twenty IQ
points on him otherwise, you know.

Speaker 5 (18:06):

Tennessee coming up later on, but Senator Haggarty from the
great state of Tean. Appreciate you joining us here, sir,
and thanks so much for making the time.

Speaker 8 (19:04):
Thanks Buck. Great to be back on with you again. Clay,
It's always good to be.

Speaker 6 (19:07):
With you, my friend.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Yeah, for sure, there's a lot of things going on,
but I know you're very focused in this moment for
very understandable reasons on situation the Secret Service. I just
want to let you bring everybody up to speed with
where you are on that and what you're doing to
try to get accountability and answers.

Speaker 8 (19:21):
Well, Buck, I think not only America, but the world
was shocked by what happened on Saturday afternoon. I talked
with President Trump on Sunday evening. He told me that
God held him in the palm of his hand that day.
Think about how close we came to a global disaster,
a global crisis.

Speaker 6 (19:35):
And he went directly to the point. I think we all.

Speaker 8 (19:37):
Feel too about his mourning and sorrow for the father
of two, the firefighter fifty year old who lost his life.
The go fundme page that we put together a Sunday
Kid Rock and I did an event. We got the
number up over three point four million dollars in the
go fundme page.

Speaker 6 (19:52):
I think it's well over five now.

Speaker 8 (19:54):
That just goes to the generosity and the outpouring of
support from the American public. But things begin to unfold.
We realized there were some serious, serious challenges here. And
what we see again is the Biden administration calling on
democracy and putting democracy at the foe. Yet when democracy
is truly threatened, they sit on their hands. This director

(20:18):
Cheatle needs to be held to account, yet Joe Biden
has done nothing to do it. She should be fired,
she should be marched out, she should be burke walked
out of the building. The same goes from majorcas but
this administration again covering for the Deep States, sitting on
their hands, putting unqualified people into positions, and you saw
what happened on Saturday.

Speaker 5 (20:36):
As a result, we've been talking a lot about whether
Biden's the guy. Do you think that he's going to
be the nominee or do you think they're basically saying
you're done and moving on to Kamal or someone else.

Speaker 8 (20:47):
I think they're in to uber panic mode right now, Clay,
and you saw them come up with this COVID excuse
for him not going on stage yesterday. I think what
they're doing, isy're drafting his resignation speech is what I
surmise from all of this. It's amazing how quickly the
knives came out after that debate.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Wait Center, Just to be clear, so you don't even
think it's just he's going to say I won't be
my party's nominee. You think he won't stay in office
to finish out his term.

Speaker 8 (21:11):
I think he probably would try to stay in office,
but if he's not qualified to run, this is what
I've been saying, Well, how could he be qualified to
finish the job? And look I've had a number of
world leaders reach out to me after that debate, wondering
if they can even make it till January twentieth.

Speaker 7 (21:25):
Thing.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
Yeah, it will.

Speaker 8 (21:26):
Our nation make it after what was demonstrated to the
world in terms of Joe Biden's lave for competency. Look,
I'm sorry for him in terms of his physical health,
He's not in a position to run the nation. I
think that's obvious to most everyone. If he has to
step down for medical reasons, it should be tomorrow, not
on the twentieth of January.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Yeah, that seems to be the only fair minded approach
you would have do an honest approach. So we'll see
what they end up doing. What are your expectations for
the Trump speech. I mean, we're now just hours away
from the Trump speech tonight, which is going to be
the the paramount moment I think of the whole RNC. Obviously,
jd Vance's VP was very exciting. That was a great

(22:07):
way to kick it off. But what are your thoughts
about what you expect to hear from President Trump tonight?

Speaker 8 (22:11):
Well above, President Trump and I talked about this on
Sunday evening. We talked for about twenty or twenty five
minutes about the tone, and you know, I could just
really feel a somber approach to this when I spoke
with the President. I mean, none of us have been
in this, and prayerfully we never will be to be
that close to being murdered, and a very somber tone.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
He told me that the whole tone of this convention
is going to change, and indeed it has. He said,
I'm rethinking my remarks for Thursday. I'm rethinking the speech.
I'm going to rewrite my speech. I don't know what
it's going to say. I don't think any of us do.

Speaker 8 (22:44):
And that's President Trump is the master of holding us
in suspense. But I have a feeling that it's going
to be a very different sort of approach than that
he might have had in mine Originally.

Speaker 5 (22:55):
After twenty twenty two, you went and did a deep
dive on what Democrats were doing better to get out
their vote than Republicans. As we sit here three and
a half months out battlegrounds Ohio, Montana, Senate in particular,
I'm talking Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, lots of different states out
there with winnable races, how do you see the field,

(23:16):
kind of laying itself out there. And do you think
the Republican Party is more ready to compete on the
field in twenty four than maybe we were in twenty two.

Speaker 8 (23:26):
Clay, I'm certainly dedicated to making certain we have greater
confidence in twenty twenty four than we did in twenty two.
As you mentioned, I campaigned in ten states in twenty twenty.
I'm sorry, campaign in seven states the last ten days
of twenty two. I sincerely thought we would be at
fifty two, fifty three, maybe even fifty four.

Speaker 6 (23:42):
I remember being with the two of you an election night,
how sad.

Speaker 8 (23:44):
I was clearly Florida the club I was with both
of you when I was expecting something quite different.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Somebody who was exceptional to share our cellars.

Speaker 8 (23:55):
That was a sad night. But I woke up the
next day and I said, this can't happen again. And
so we went through an analyzed each of the states
in twenty twenty two to figure out what happened. And
very simply, they beat us on the ground. They didn't
beat us with a better message, they didn't beat us
with better candidates. They beat us on the ground. Exhibit
A would be Pennsylvania. You think about it. By the
time of the debate that occurred in Pennsylvania, they had

(24:16):
gone to fifty days of early voting, unlimited mail out ballots,
and ballot harvesting. The Democrats were ready for this, and
John Fetterman had amassed over nine hundred thousand votes by
that debate, OZ only had about two hundred thousand votes,
So you got over seven hundred thousand vote lead before
anybody's ever.

Speaker 6 (24:32):
Sees who the candidate is.

Speaker 8 (24:34):
The most googled question in Pennsylvania for the following week
was how do I change my vote? Well, you can't,
and so on election Day OZ out performs Federman by
four hundred thousand votes. That's not nearly enough to overcome
the margin. You think about Nevada. I was out two
days before the election campaigning with Adam Laxalt. He's up
four points. On election day, Adam wins. But guess what happens.
We waited. Republican voters waited until election day, whereas the

(24:56):
Democrats had been voting all the way along through the period,
and it snowed in northern Nevada, heavy rains in the
middle part of the state, Adam's base was in the
northern part of Nevada. We lost by less than eight
thousand votes. That's for votes per precinct. People couldn't get
to the vote, couldn't get to the poll that day,
and this is what happens. We can't let that happen again.
We got to vote early. Got to make certain that
our big folks are signed up and understand the rules.

(25:18):
And that's what I'm dedicated to doing. We're on the
ground in multiple states right now with a Sentinel Action
Fund doing just that.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
It's important.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
You just said there's a lot of nervousness about vote
by mail, voting early, but you just hit the weather.
Maybe you got a kid who's sick, maybe you got
a parent that you have to take care of on
election day, and it doesn't happen for you. You plan
on it, you don't get there, go ahead and bank
and get your vote in.

Speaker 8 (25:41):
That's absolutely right, Clayon. I tell you, I want to
compliment my colleagues at the RNC. They have put an
incredible amount of effort into election security. The Trump team
has been working on this with legal teams all over
the country to make certain that we try to make
the vote as secure as we possibly can. We are
looking at a situation when I feel very comfortable with

(26:01):
the safety and security of our votes. We're going to
have lawyers on the ground everywhere to make certain that
we remain secure. And we've got to convince our voters
that first to understand the rules set. But let's play
by the set of rules, even though we don't like them.
We know the Democrats are going to be maximizing those rules.
Let's not take the risk of waiting until Christmas Eve
to buy our Christmas present. You know, any coach that
would wait till the fourth quarter to put it in

(26:23):
your lexiconclay to start running up the score is going
to get fired.

Speaker 6 (26:26):
Right.

Speaker 8 (26:27):
We need to be playing early. We know the outcome,
we know how important it is get that vote banked early.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
And we don't want to be over confident. No high
stepping into the end zone around here. Senator's right, I
learned the things. Thanks for sake so much, Senator Hagerty
for being with us. Appreciation all does thank you. You know,
summertime can be all about vacations, family reunions, all that stuff.
It's not new, It's been that way for generations. But
if your family made great memories when you were getting

(26:52):
together over the summer. I bet somebody captured some of
those moments, but they did it on video and photo
years and years later. How do those video tapes do
these days? Do you have a VCR machine, Well, you
can do something about it and still enjoy those memories forever.
Digitize what's on those tapes with the help of Legacy
Box Clan. I know the founders of this company. They're

(27:13):
fantastic people and they've been doing this for millions of families.
In fact, the million and a half families have already
relied on Legacy Box, including mine and clays. Right now
they're offering fifty percent off their regular prices, which makes
this a.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
Great time in the summer.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Maybe you're clearing out some of the attic or the closet,
you go, oh, what am I gonna do with these tapes?
Send them in the Legacy Box and you can take
your time. You get the box sent now, get the
deal that fifty percent off now, and then you fill
it with your materials, your photos, VCR tapes, whatever you got, betamax,
I mean, you name it. They can transfer it for
you digitally and they do it with so much care.

(27:49):
Once you see the box they send back to you.
Everything's nicely wrapped and taken care of. You get back
all those originals.

Speaker 6 (27:54):
Trust me.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
You go to Legacy box dot com slash buck for
half off their regular prices. Today, that's a legacybox dot
Com slash buck for fifty percent.

Welcome ackg. In final segment.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
Thursday edition Clay Travis buck Sexton Show. As we move
closer and closer to Trump's big speech tonight, we are
joined now by Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs, superstar wrestler, politician.
Now we were just talking about off the air. You
got Hulk Hogan speaking tonight, You got a Data White

(28:41):
speaking leading into Trump speaking tonight. You came out of
the WWE universe. When did you first meet Trump? And
did you ever think that both of you would be
in the political sphere.

Speaker 9 (28:53):
Well, it's interesting, there's actually three ww Hall of Famers
at the RNC this year.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Oh wow, mean and Trump, that's right, they put him in. Yeah,
so that's pretty big. On yesterday.

Speaker 9 (29:03):
I ran into the Lyna McMahon as well, so there's
there's a very strong connection there. I met him it
was the WrestleMania that we had at Ford Field in Detroit.
There was probably like two thousand, two thousand and probably
five or something like that. It's it's a long time,
you know. He was there, had the Battle of the
Billionaires and won the match. Actually got to keep his hair. Yeah,

(29:23):
I got to keep his hair.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
Well, as we know, the hair is very yeah, so
he keeps he keeps that top of mind. We're excited
about the speech tonight. Just wondering from from your perspective,
I mean, as a one thing, as a Tennessee guy.
We had a lot of Tennessee this hour. By the way,
I'm sitting here with mister Tennessee to my left. The
conservative model or the you know, red state model of

(29:46):
governance clearly winning across the country. How are you seeing
that play out in your home state and how do
you think that factors into the Republican Party platform going
into this election.

Speaker 9 (29:55):
Tennessee is the best run state in the country. We
are the most fiscally responsible state. We have virtually no debt,
We have one of the lowest tax state and local
burdens in the country, so we're very well run.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
And it just is thos principles.

Speaker 8 (30:08):
You know.

Speaker 9 (30:09):
One of the major things is allowing people to keep
their money because they know how to spend it better
than the government does. And it's just that idea of
lower government and keeping government out of our lives as
much as possible. And what we're seeing in Tennessee, and
Clay can attest to this as well, is we're seeing
a mass influx of political refugees coming from the Blue
states because they're just tired of all the foolishness going
on in places like California.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
How is that doing for party registrations? I'm your sure,
are you getting ready? Yes? Voters? Yes, blue states? Yes.

Speaker 9 (30:35):
And now we don't have we have open primaries, so
we don't have like registered Republicans and Democrats like a
lot of states do. But you see what happened in
Florida and how that whole thing flipped, going from a
slightly blue state to a.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
More and fifty thousand because I lived there off half
a million plus.

Speaker 9 (30:51):
Now, yeah, and there was a poll that was done
probably a few years ago, but anyway, it was like
sixty percent of the people that have moved to Tennessee
to Middle Tennessee were Republicans. More importantly, they were super voters,
so they were actually more conservative than their neighbors. So
I think it's actually turning reci Tennessee.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
Even redder when you look at what we can expect
from Trump tonight, obviously coming off of the assassination attempt
on Saturday. I'm curious if you've had any time to
interact with him, because I want to give you a
little bit of a praise here. I talked to President
Trump about Iowa and he said that you were out
in the.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Freezing cold later working harder.

Speaker 5 (31:33):
Than almost anybody out there that was a surrogate on
his behalf, and he really appreciated that. It seems to
us we had him on the show Friday, that just
watching him, he seems more somber, reflective.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Have you seen that?

Speaker 9 (31:47):
Yeah, he does, and that experience I'm sure will do
that to you. I mean, I've talked to some people
that are close to him. I haven't had the opportunity
to talk to him about some people around him, and
the most impressive thing don't see impress him in a
good way, but impressive. As far as his his own
emotions about it, he is more concerned about the in
the man that was killed, the firefighter that was killed,

(32:10):
and the people that are injured than he was himself.
That's the first thing I actually asked, was how's everybody else?

Speaker 3 (32:16):
Uh?

Speaker 9 (32:16):
So I do think that you know, that had an
impact on him in a personal way, and you can
see it just you know, just the way he's carrying
himself out onto the area, the floor and those sort
of things. As far as the speech, you know, I
don't think this is going to be and he said
this as well. He basically tore up what he was
going to say, and the speech is going to be

(32:36):
much more about all of us coming together. And you know,
it's funny because the Democrats pride themselves on all that stuff,
and literally within two days of their horrible rhetoric of
you know, calling Trumpet fascist and Hitler, well, two days later, uh,
they're back to saying that JD. Vance is a maggot

(32:58):
street maggot extremist. So you know, they're the ones that
are driving the division.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Pick by the way, how does he how does he
line up with what you think is best for the party.

Speaker 9 (33:08):
Well, I think it's great. First of all, he's a
young guy, obviously very intelligent. He's also one of those
people that he's lived the American dream.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
You know.

Speaker 9 (33:16):
He started out virtually nothing, very bad situation, joined the
Marine Corps, became a lawyer, got in the US Senate,
now is Vice presid the United States. So he is
a living testament about the opportunities that you have in
this country.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Would you have believed that Trump was going to be
President of the United States when you were doing WrestleMania
back in the day, or that you would feel compelled
to step into the political arena too.

Speaker 9 (33:40):
No and no, actually, but I think in both cases
it's because we saw some things that needed to change
and are trying to do that.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
The rock Huge superstar.

Speaker 5 (33:52):
He endorsed Joe Biden, and some people can say, okay,
celebrity endorsement that in twenty twenty, okay, I don't think
any This came out with our friend Will Caine and
did a sit down interview and said, I'm not endorsing
this time. Let's go around. You know, the world of
sports and entertainment. Well, do you sense as I do?

(34:13):
And Buck and I have talked about this sum that
there isn't going to be anywhere near the same camp
kind of anti Trump push from the on the politics
front in the sports and entertainment arena like there was
in twenty I.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Don't think so else to see it actually in big tech, yeah,
David David yesterday.

Speaker 9 (34:31):
Yeah, that that that have essentially just left the Democrat
Party and our big deal.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Yeah, those are like heavy artillery pieges that we're switching over.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
Man.

Speaker 9 (34:40):
You know, one of the uh, one of the most
surprising things in my entire life was the president of
the Team Stirs endorsing Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention.
Whoever thought you'd see that? So, uh, it's amazing to
see what's happening now. And I think I think what's
occurred is a lot of folks that were kind of
in the middle and you know, maybe even didn't pay

(35:01):
that much attention to politics and believed what the media
said about Donald Trump. Saturday shook them out of that
and they realized, no, that that's that's not true.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
There are rumors, and you know, you're a man who's
been in the arena with tens of thousands of people
cheering for you before the rumors tonight that perhaps mister
fifty on the stage. I'm just wondering, one, would that
be exciting for you to do you celebrate fifty cents catalog?

Speaker 3 (35:26):
What could you tell us? Yeah? Sorry, guys, I'm not really.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
But it would be quite a moment, Clay, if this
were to end up actually happening.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
This is a rumor mill out here.

Speaker 5 (35:39):
Yeah, we know that we've got Hull Cogan, and we
know that we've got.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
What in the world is producer Ali doing? By the way,
is this on video? No idea.

Speaker 5 (35:50):
We know that we've got a whole Cogan, and we
know that we've got the.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
Dana White connection.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
If we added fifty cent to it as well, that
be absolutely bonkers in terms of the entertainment aspect associated
with this.

Speaker 9 (36:05):
I love you guys, but is this show one of
those where I actually have to watch my back t.

Speaker 5 (36:10):
I didn't know what she was doing and it looked
like a steel cage there for a minute.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
I thought the climb, you know what you know.

Speaker 9 (36:17):
But to your point, Clay, I think one of the
things that's really happening is for a long time and
the Democrats were considered the cool yes, and now it's
switched and it's like Trump is the cool.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
Handsome that's the GOP now, everybody, that's how we do it.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
Great to see you, Glenn Jacobs, keeping ruling in a
really great way, running everything in East Tennessee.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
We appreciate you. Thank you. Everybody enjoyed the R and
C tonight
