Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome everybody to the Friday edition of the Clay Travis
and Buck Sexton Show. It is a great Friday. Appreciate
you being with us. Clay last day of vacation for
him this week. He'll be back Monday. He's had a
great time out in Steamboat Steamboat Springs also known as
Steamboat I think in Colorado, and he'll be back Monday.
(00:21):
So next week we'll be all fired up. The Dynamic
Duo back in action. Speaking of action this week, and
I'll be out training in undisclosed location through some firearms
trading with a former SILKEAM six operator. So looking forward
to that. I'll tell you all about it when I
get back. I'm going with my brothers, kind of a
(00:43):
guy's training trip. Before I am being trained to burp
a tiny baby and put diapers on. So this weekend
running around in the shoot house clearing rooms. In a
few weekends, I'm on diaper change duty for all long time.
So there we go. Exciting things happening in my world,
(01:04):
Exciting things happening across the country and around the world too.
I want to dive into it. Speak you know what,
let's have some funks. It's Friday, speaking of the world.
There's a little place, it's actually giant, not little, a
place called Greenland. Now, you may have not heard very
much about it until Donald Trump came along. Perhaps you've
(01:24):
been told the old story that they called it Iceland
even though it had far less ice, and Greenland even
though it had far less green, kind of mixing things
up for people. I don't even I think that's an
urban legend. But whatever that, people say that about it.
And Trump is not backing away from this one on Greenland.
He's happened quite a week. This has cut one talking
(01:47):
about this large island that he thinks should be our island.
Play it.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
We really need Greenland for national security. It's very important.
You know. We have a couple of bases on Greenland already,
and we have quite a few soldiers and maybe you'll
see more and more soldiers go there. And I don't know,
what do you think about that beat?
Speaker 1 (02:06):
So don't answer to that pace don't.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
We have we have bases that we have quite a
few soldiers in Greenland.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Look, it's not a crazy idea. We're not going We're
not going to invade. And people say stuff like that,
Give me a break. It's you know, get a sense
of humor, But why shouldn't we think more about this?
You know, if Guam can be accepted by everybody as
a US territory in the middle of nowhere in the
South Pacific, and it's a it's an important US territory
(02:39):
by the way, for strategic reasons, we all know, why
why can't Greenland possibly be in the mix if they
agree to it. Trump pointed this one out. He said, look, Denmark,
which is currently administering Greenland, what does that even really mean?
Denmark is not exactly next door, So maybe this makes
(03:02):
more sense than people are willing to think the first
time around. Plate two.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, ships all over the place, and we have to
have protection.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
So we're gonna have to make a deal.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
On that, and Denmark is not able to do that.
You know, Denmark's very far away and really has nothing
to do. What happens a boat landed that two hundred
years ago or something, and they say they have rights
to it. I don't know if that's true. I don't
think it is actually, But we've been dealing with Denmark,
we've been dealing with Greenland, and we have to do it.
We really needed finational security, and I think that's why
(03:33):
NATO might be have to get involved.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
He said, Look, it's an important strategic location. There are
very few people who live there on this giant land mass,
which is a lot of glaciers and ice, but there's
land too, and there's a lot of minerals and resources
when you get under that ice. But also given the
increasing focus on the race to the Arctic that is
(04:00):
been underway for a long time but is heating up
more these days, it makes some sense. So this is
not a crazy idea Canada the fifty first state. That's
not going to happen. He's trolling you, and I know
we speak Trump, we know when he's serious. The Greenland thing,
I don't think is likely, but it is not impossible.
And we'll see how much time and focus he wants
(04:22):
to put on this. If you look at I just
take a little step back for some historical perspective, If
you look at some of the best moves made by
any American statesman in the history of our country, really
they were land purchases, and you know, bringing land into
(04:44):
these United States. Louisiana purchased greatest land deal I think
of all time. Even Trump would be like better than
any of my land deals is the greatest land deal
of all time. And then of course other things. Alaska
Seward's icebox, they called it. Turned out he was pretty smart,
and other places, other territories that we've picked up along
(05:06):
the way. You know, this is it's something to think
about it. It's just we're having a little fun on
our Friday, all right. You want to get into the
really important stuff. You joined me for the really important
Stufflet's get into the really importance. So first of all,
Senate Majority, I'm sorry, Senate Democrat leader, not majority leader.
Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer is saying that he is
going to vote to keep the government open. And he's
(05:31):
he's getting a lot of heat from his own side
on this one, but he understands the direction the wind
is blowing in right now. Politically. Let's hear cut ten.
Here's Chuck Schumer telling everybody that, look, we got to
avoid the shutdown place.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
I supported what the House did to vote against this
bill universally, but that didn't cause a shutdown. It's a
different it's different in the Senate. And I knew people
were going to disagree with me, but I felt so
strongly that the shutdown would be the greatest disaster we
face with these arrogant, arrogant autocrats, that we had to
avoid the shutdown and fight on many of the other things,
(06:09):
every other issue that we had.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
He's saying, look, this is the thing we got to
do here. I don't like it, but this is where
we are. We got to keep the government open, because
he knows that the American people have seen enough of
Democrats saying, how dare you even consider shutting down the government.
You can't do that, you can't do that, And now
they're going to try to turn around and play it
(06:33):
on the other side. AOC who has the advantage of
not having to do to do politics, but really to
do social media.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Right.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
She doesn't have to pass legislation, she doesn't have to
think about bills and laws. She just has to do
like Instagram videos and like tweet and go on MSNBC
even though no one's watching. And she is very upset
about humor backing down and being willing to back the
GOP bill. This is eleven hit it.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
This Republican extreme spending bill removes all of the guardrails
and all of the accountability measures to ensure that money
is being spent in the way that Congress has directed
for it to be spent. This turns the federal government
into a slush fund for Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
It sacrifices congressional authority, and it is deeply partisan. And
(07:26):
so to me, it is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats
would vote to hand the few pieces of leverage that
we have away for free when we've been sent here
to protect Social Security, protect Medicaid, and protect Medicare.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Elections have consequences, AOC. That's really the problem here in
the minority. The last election, the American people spoke loudly
and clearly about which party they want to be in control,
and the GEO is going forward with the agenda. So
I think this is a very good thing. I think
(08:07):
this is something well. If there had been a shutdown,
Tchumor would have gotten the blame for it. The Democrats
would have been even more messed up than they are.
Is that even really possible? My old this cut seventeen,
My old table mate at Real News, se cup, old
(08:28):
friend of mine. She's even saying on CNN and she
like the Democrats total mess right now play it.
Speaker 6 (08:34):
It is shocking how Democrats have not figured out what
is coming down the pike. It is March, you know
the spending fight is coming, and you know Republicans have
a majority. I don't understand for all the chaos on
the right. Democrats are a mess. They haven't figured out.
It's not how they're gonna fight Donald Trump yet, they
haven't even figured out if they're gonna fight Donald Trump's agenda.
(08:56):
They've got to get it together and get on the
same page and figure out a roadmap go because the
chas is going to be daily, there's going to be
incoming for months, and they are not on the same
page at all.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
That's clear.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Yeah, they got nothing right. I mean I did. I
don't think the Republicans are in chaos at all. Really.
I think that this administration is operating as close to
a Swiss watch as anyone could imagine, given the scope
of what they're trying to accomplish. And part of the
strategy is everything everywhere, all at once, and it's working
(09:30):
because Democrats are in complete disarray, a total mess. They
don't know what to do, so much so that some
of them are calling in sick and I'm not exaggerating,
or maybe they're calling in for a vacation. Here is
MSNBC's This is twenty four MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell. He just
can't handle it anymore. Democrats are getting the butts kicked
(09:51):
so badly. He's taking a vacation because he just they
we've broken and play it.
Speaker 7 (09:56):
Well, here's the thing. This is day fifty two. I
thought it was day nine. It turns out it's day
fifty two, Rachel. And I'm exhausted at day fifty two.
And so I I'm gonna take next week off. And
I'm telling you that now because I know you don't
like it when I just drift away and I don't,
but just taking next week off then then I could
(10:18):
come back.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Honestly, the smart Democrat pundits right now should probably all
take a vacation for a week or five or more
because they just have absolutely no way of opposing, slowing down,
or doing anything to stop the Trump agenda, with the
exception of we're going to get into this. These judges,
(10:45):
the judges are a big problem right now, these universal injunctions.
It is unconstitutional, it is overreach, it is madness. So
that's MSNBC. The pundits, the media apparatus of the Democrats
all completely I would say, largely irrelevant at this point.
That don't really they'll come back, I know, but right
(11:06):
now they are. It's like they're all on vacation, or
they'd be better off if they were all on vacation
because they can't make sound arguments. They look like deer
in the headlights. But they're relying a lot. The Democrats
are relying almost entirely on the activist judges, all Obama
and Biden appointees, these activist federal judges who are just
(11:28):
overriding and overruling presidential prerogative on a regular basis. Now,
this is a central fight for the Trump administration and
really for the country, because you're seeing this tested in
a variety of ways. If the President of the United
States isn't really the CEO of the executive branch, meaning
(11:52):
that he can fire people, he can make changes to personnel,
then where is what's the point of the election? If
they're on autopilot. If Congress gets to say, here's this thing,
no one's in charge of it, but we funded it,
and no one can make any changes to it in
the executive branch, it's on some weird autopilot swamp tour.
(12:15):
Why do we have elections? What is the purpose of
going through the billions of dollars spent for this last
election cycle? If DC runs itself, essentially, it's just endless
funding from Congress, hurtling us over the cliff of fiscal insanity,
and anyone who tries to stop it is told, no,
(12:35):
you're not allowed to stop it. The system is self aware.
The system is Skynet from terminator, and it will destroy
us all before you're allowed to do anything to it.
This is a big deal, and I'll get it to
some of the specifics of this here coming up in
just a moment. While violence against the Jewish people continues
in Israel and the rest of the Middle East, our
Christian brothers and sisters in the region are also under attack.
(12:58):
Hundreds of Syrian Christians have and brutally killed in the
past week. Entire families, including women and children, are being slaughtered.
Israel is the Middle East's only democracy, but it's also
the only nation in the region with a growing Christian population.
Israeli Christians are free to worship in the Holy Land,
but persecution against Christians throughout the Middle East continues. To grow.
The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews stands with Christians
(13:20):
in Syria as well as our Christian brothers and sisters
throughout the Middle East. IFCJ provides life saving security essentials
and daily necessities such as food, clothing, and shelter. You
can show your support by going to IFCJ dot org
and donate. You can also show your support another way
with prayer. Join me and the Fellowship in prayer for
Christians under attack in Syria and across the globe. To

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Welcome back into Clay and Buck. I had mentioned this
in the discussion we had with the White House Deputy
Press Secretary and Kelly. There's all this reporting out there
from various news outlets about Trump invoking the Alien Enemies
Act of seventeen ninety eight to carry out deportations to Guantanamo.
(14:26):
Let me read you a little bit of this because
I read it and I say, sounds like a great idea.
This is from CBS News. President Trump is planning to
invoke a wartime law known as the Alien Enemies Act
of seventeen ninety eight as soon as Friday, meaning today,
to authorize the summary deportation of some migrants, including to
(14:49):
Guantanamo Bay, escalating his government wide immigration crackdown. Multiple US
officials familiar with the plant told CBS News the two
hundred and twenty seven year old law gives presidents the
extraordinary power to order the arrest, detention, and deportation of
(15:10):
non citizens who are fourteen years or older and come
from countries staging an invasion or predatory incursion of the US.
Mister Trump is expected to cite the eighteenth century statute
to order these swift attention and deportation of suspected members
of the Trende Aragua, a Venezuelan gang with prison origins
(15:34):
that his administration has designated a foreign terrorist organization. Officials
have made preparations to send suspected gang members to the
US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, soon after mister
Trump invokes the Alien Enemies Act. At mister Trump's direction,
officials have been detaining some migrants awaiting deportation at the
naval base, though the wholding facilities were left empty earlier
(15:56):
this week. Okay, those subject to the Alien Enemies Act
would not be allowed to have a cord hearing or
an asylum interview, as they would be processed under an
emergency wartime authority. They would be eligible to be detained
and deported with little to no do process under Title fifty.
Sounds great to me. What's the problem? It's a presidential authority.
(16:20):
Notice how they have to report this in such a
way that this is on the book. Still, this is
on the book. Still the president still has this power. Now,
I want to compare the way that CBS. That's why
I want to give you the background of that, but
also the way CBS this eighteenth century statute. Do you
think CBS was doing that kind of massaging of the
(16:42):
issue when they were using the Logan Act as a
pretext to go after General Flynn as the incoming Trump
national security advisor. No, right, the Logan Act was suddenly
very important to all these anti Trump voices in the media. Oh,
the Logan Act. Meanwhile, in its two hundred plus years
(17:03):
of existence, it has never once been used to prosecute
anybody successfully and put them in prison. I think there
have been a couple of times it was even used
to bring charges. No one ever convicted. The law is
just kind of an old, dusty law that no one
takes seriously until you have to jam up somebody in
Trump world, and then you pretend, and then you're James Comy,
(17:26):
sank to Comy, and you use it to spring a
trap on the incoming National security Advisor. One of the
dirtiest download things, one of the worst things they did
to Trump in that first administration. Pretend it had the
FBI director pretend that a phone call between the Russian
ambassador and the incoming National security advisor for a new
(17:47):
administration is some kind of huge national security concerned and
he's running his own foreign policy when you look back
at that. But Comy's a bad guy. He's just a
bad guy. And I know that's not a surprise to you.
You know that too, But who does that to be
the FBI director and abuse your power in that way. Well,
(18:09):
thankfully we've got Cash Battel as director and now Dan
Bongino as deputy director, and things are going to get
cleaned up and be a whole lot better than they were.
But the invoking of the Alien Enemies Act of seventeen
ninety eight. This will be interesting because it is on
the books. The President has designated groups that are transnational
(18:33):
narco terrorist organizations like Trenda Ragua as a foreign terrorist organization.
So if you are part of a foreign terrorist organization,
if you were part of Al Qaeda, wouldn't you be
able to be deported back to your country of origin
under this law? It was used in the past. The
(18:54):
government used it to surveill and detain Italian, German, and
Japanese immigrants in World War Two. So the invocation to
target migrants from countries which US is not actively at
war as almost certain to face legal challenges. They're saying, okay, well,
so that means that a terrorist entity operating in the US,
(19:16):
because we're not at war with the country that the
terrorists are originating from, we can't send them back. We'll
see how that one goes. I think you're certain to
have some of these activist anti Trump judges shut this
down if in fact they do this. I think they're
going to do this. I think they're preparing to do this.
I think that they're going to use the Guantanamo facility
(19:37):
and this is one of those things where they should
just do it and do as much of it as
they can. And we start to get to this place
where how long does the executive branch listen to one
random federal judge somewhere in overriding policy. You'll note that
Trump in the first administration, every time, even when it
(19:57):
was the most obvious bad faith judicial overreach, every time
there was any kind of a challenge the administration from
a federal judge, you know what they did. You know
what Trump did, The tyrant, the authoritarian hitler said okay,
we'll see you in court. And that's where he completely
abided by the system at every turn, even when the
(20:19):
other side was using the system in bad faith to
just slow him down. They knew they were going to
get overturned on a bunch of the things that they
and they did. They are the so called Muslim ban, right,
and then they Trump ended up winning on that. Oh
he can't do that wasn't a Muslim ban, but whatever.
They just don't want him to be able to do anything.
And that's the operating authority, or that's the operating ideology,
(20:44):
and they just abuse their authority to that end. That
is absolutely what we see happening here. So yeah, the
Alien Enemies Act of seventeen ninety eight. I think this
would be a strong move because you have to use
the authorities that the government, the executive branch already has
to the absolute maximum. If you're going to wait around
(21:05):
for Congress to work together on some of this stuff,
it's never going to happen. And that's what Democrats want.
They want the continued destruction, the erosion and eventual destruction
of our national sovereignty through endless violations of our borders,
endless violations of our immigration laws. And they don't want
(21:27):
to protect the American people and the American citizens specifically
from the predations of groups like MS thirteen and trend Aragua.
They won't do it. It's in their power to do it,
just like it was in Joe Biden's power to shut
down crossings at the border, obviously because Donald Trump has
done it, but Biden wouldn't use the authority that he had. Right.
(21:48):
It's a bit like if you have a sheriff in
your town, and the sheriff has the right to arrest
people for whatever it may be. If a sheriff just
chooses not to arrest anybody. You don't need a new law,
you just need a new sheriff. Well, there's a new
sheriff in town now. His name is Donald Trump. Also,
want to get to the situation of NATO here for
(22:09):
a moment, because the the if the Russia Ukraine War
is able to be brought to a ceasefire by Donald Trump,
honestly anytime in his first year, and I mean maybe
even in his first six months in office, it will
feel almost like a miracle because there was nothing, There
was not even any movement toward this when Biden was
(22:33):
in office. So you will watch, you will see this.
I want you to pay close attention to the coverage
of this at every step because ending a war and
saving a lot of lives in the process, as I
have said to you, should be something that everyone is
on board for. Every American should be on board for
that right. But no, maybe not because you know, we
have to see about the territory that's gonna end up
(22:55):
in which sides hands and Slava Ukrainian all this stuff.
It's really just about they don't want Trump to have
the win, as you know, they don't want Donald Trump
to be in a position where he can say, hey,
not only am I setting up a booming economy and
securing the border, I'm ending wars that Democrats blundered our
(23:16):
ally into with Ukraine, or at least were unable to
stop our ally from getting pulled into. And beyond that,
they really just want to make sure that Donald Trump
doesn't get the w That's it. Everything is just about
stopping him. On NATO. You'll notice that there are a
lot of people who think themselves really erudite on the
(23:40):
issue of national security foreign policy, and they always say
that Trump is so so destructive to NATO. This has
been a thing that has been said about him the
whole time. Well, no, maybe he just sees a system
that isn't operating the way that it should, and he's
these member countries that aren't taking the actions that they
(24:03):
have agreed to take to uphold their end of the bargain.
NATO Secretary General Mark Ruta had this to say, this
has cut four about what Donald Trump has been able
to do in just the last few weeks. Listen in
I must say.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
Tream forty five, you basically you originated effects that in
Europe you're not spending when you take it to aggregate
seven hundred billion more even defense than when you came
in office in twenty six and twenty seventy. But that
was TREAM forty five. But then when you look at
stream forty seven, to be art, what's happened in the
last couple of weeks is le League secondary Europeans committing
(24:41):
to a package of eight hundred billion defense spending. The
Germans now are potentially up to half a trillion next
time defense spending. And then of course you had kid
starming here, the British Prime Minister and others all committing
to much higher defense spending. If you're not there, you
need to do more. But I didn't want to work
to get it with you in a relative to the
X summer, to make sure that you will from NATO,
which is infigurated under your leadership.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Notice you're not hearing a lot of this in the
commentary circles the New York Times, Washington Posts, all the
rest of it. Donald Trump, in a matter of weeks
has helped bring together an eight hundred billion dollar defense
spending commitment from NATO partners in the European Union, or
(25:29):
from our European partners in NATO. Eight hundred billion dollars
that wasn't going to get spent. Now it's getting spent.
He say, look, you got to up your spending. It
doesn't make Trump a bad guy or Putin's puppet or
any of this stuff for him to say that the
Europeans are allies who have promised to have sufficient spending
(25:52):
for their own defense. Stop free loading also off of America.
Stop saying America protect this from Russia and do it themselves.
Get ready to do it themselves more and more. That
is absolutely what should be happening here. You know, they
want to just fund their bloated welfare states. They can
(26:15):
do that on somebody else's dime, providing their defense umbrella
for them. Okay, they have to step up. He's right.
And Trump even said this. He says, look, he wants
us for NATO to matter, it has to be strong.
NATO can't be Oh, we can't do anything without America
because then it's not an alliance. Then it's a dependency.
This has cut three play.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
You have to keep NATO strong, you have to keep
it relevant. But the biggest thing we have to worry
about right now is what's going on right now. I
think the rest is going to take care of itself.
I don't see this.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
This was a flu.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
This was something that if we had a competent president,
it would not have happened. The man was grossly incompetent.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Yeah, NATO has to be strong, and Biden was grossly incompetent.
He just would glad hand and have that stupid grin
and act like he has some foreign policy knowledge that
we all needed, that needed to be imparted upon all
of us or something. Joe Biden is an absolute clown.
And that's before the dementia kicked in, and his entire
(27:18):
record on foreign policy and his record visa v our allies.
They always say this, our allies are so worried about Trump,
and then you actually get to sit and talk to
some of the allies, they go, no, he's right. We
do need we do need European nations to be more
capable of defending themselves. The notion that oh, if we
don't keep backing Ukraine forever, Russia is going to roll
(27:38):
over all of the all of the European countries militarily
is going to roll tanks through Germany and Poland, and
that's one insane. It's not gonna happen. But two, if
that were true, you know what should happen. Europe should
get its act together and be able to stop Russia
from doing that. They've got hundreds of millions more people
and a heck of a lot more money, so you know,
(28:01):
it shouldn't all fall on us. This is just Trump
applying common sense to big problems in the world, and
it's not common. If you hear the DC commentary, it's
crazy stuff. Okay. Look for a lot of people, the
end of the week is a time to celebrate with
a great meal. You know what I had last night?
True story, Kerry and I actually had burger night here
(28:22):
and the burgers are from our friends at Good Ranchers.
Absolutely delicious. I'm gonna tell you what I did. I
took one Good Ranchers burger and I put a bunch
of sauteed onions, and then I put another Good Ranchers
burger on top of it. And then you put a
little bit of cheese on top and maybe a little
bit more of those sauted onions. Was it was like
a burger tower of deliciousness, all from Good Ranchers. The
(28:42):
meat quality is so high. I'm a big red meat guy,
I eat red meat two or three times a week. Yes,
I'm on a fitness journey, but red meat is actually
good for you. You just got to make sure you
check the calories on it. Red meat is delicious. Good
Ranchers red meat is top top quality. The steaks, the burgers.
Get a box from Good Ranchers. They have all these
different variations of it. You can get the box that
(29:04):
you want, and you're gonna be like, this is the
best protein source for me. Now, this is who I want.
And it's healthy too. The beef and chicken are made
without antibiotics or seed oils. And I'm all about Good Ranchers.
I'm gonna getting another box myself soon. Go online a

Speaker 1 (29:54):
We're joined by White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly. Anna.
Welcome to the program. Thanks for being here with us.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
Thanks so much.
Speaker 9 (30:04):
Fuck, I'm so excited to be here. And that's a
great song you had on in the break by the way,
I really enjoyed them.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Well, thank you very much. We try to have the
good tunes, the good tunes flowing. So a lot going
on this week and a lot of back and forth. Already,
Let's start with the economy tariff situation. What should everybody know?
Because if you you know, when I go to the gym,
for example, they have these different channels on. They do
(30:29):
have Fox onto the gym down here because I'm in
South Florida, but a lot of like the financial channels,
and it almost feels like they want everybody to panic
every time the President speaks the word tariff. What should
everyone know about the plan here and where we're trying
to go.
Speaker 9 (30:45):
Yeah, so I will share there are three goals for
these cariffs, right Number one is restrictions. So we are
helping our domestic industries by pushing these exports, making sure
that American companies can send made in America goods all
around the world, making sure we're getting revenue for the
things we import. And then, most importantly is reciprocity. So
President Trump, finally, after decades, not just the past four years,
(31:07):
especially the past four years, but really decades of unfair
trading practices that have long took advantage of American farmers
and workers, President Trump is finally saying, look, American farmers, workers,
manufacturers deserve a level playing field. So these tariffs are
finally making sure that we are leveling the playing field,
enacting the same tariffs that these countries around the world
(31:29):
have imposted on us for years. This makes common sense,
and it makes sure that American farmers and workers are
able to send their goods around the world. And by
the way, those revenues are paying dividends. We had ten
thousand new manufacturing jobs last month. We have positive job
growth in the private sector. That's what the American people want,
That's what we want in this building is a strong
(31:50):
economy in the private sector that is benefiting from a
level playing field.
Speaker 1 (31:53):
Finally, what also is is your What is the feeling
of the President and this White House on how to
handle the slew of these judicial universal injunctions that have
come down. I told everybody before you came on an
that the Biden administration had fewer of these against and
(32:16):
it did some very unconstitutional and just aggressive, and I
would offer unlawful things in the executive branch, but more
in one month for Trump than three years of Biden.
Is the strategy here? Just to take it to the
Supreme Court? Does the White House say that there may
be other options down down the road? What should we
(32:36):
know about this?
Speaker 9 (32:38):
Well, yeah, here's what we know. You're exactly right. There
were fifteen efforts in February alone by these activist judges
who seize the president's power of specifically hiring and firing
from the executive branch. We in this building believe, and
I think the American people understand that the President has
the authority to exercise the power of the executive branch.
(32:58):
That means hiring people, that means firing people, and ultimately
that means delivering on the American people's mandates to eliminate
wasteful spending, to shrink our federal workers and ultimately make
our federal workforce more efficient. That is to the benefit
of Americans across the country who benefit from federal services. So, yes,
we have these activist judges enacting these fifteen efforts to
(33:19):
crample down on the president's authority. We believe that is unjust.
We believe it is unconstitutional, and we will continue to
fight back against their efforts to seize the power of
the President of the United States to run his own
executive branch.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
We're speaking to a deputy White House Press Secretary, Anna Kelly,
and CBS News reported this a day ago. Trump to
invoke wartime Aillien Enemies Act of seventeen ninety eight to
carry out deportations to Guantanamo. What can you tell us
about this?
Speaker 9 (33:52):
Well, I won't get ahead of the president's books, but
here is what I will say. I know there is
a lot of talk in the mainstream media about suddenly
they are concerned about mass deportation and the pace of that.
Guess what, we actually just found out recently that Biden
was fudging his numbers on these deportations. They were arresting
aliens and then letting them back into our country. That
is a universally unpopular policy that is part of what
(34:14):
helps propel President Trumps to victory in November, because American
people do not want these migrant criminals invading our country.
Here's what we do, No buck, we made thirty two thousand,
over thirty two thousand enforcement arrest in the first fifty
days of the Trump administration. To put that in perspective,
we made thirty three thousand I did at large arrests
(34:34):
in the fiscal year twenty twenty four alone. So I
won't get ahead of President's any specific policies that he
plans to impose, but we know that the President is
delivering on his promise to enact the largest mass deportation
of migrant criminals in American history to stop the invasion. Because,
by the way, fourteen thousand of those we've arrested so
far convicted criminals, almost ten thousand has pending criminal charges.
(34:56):
So President Trump is doing what he promised. He is
getting justice for innocent Americans like Lake and Riley, who
like Joscelyn Nungree, whose lives were brutally taken and unjustly
taken by migrant criminals who should have never been in
this country in the first place.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
And I've seen some early data on this, and it's
actually it actually comes from the Mexican government side of
the border. But we know that official numbers already for
illegal migrant crossings are way down. I think ninety five
percent plus is where they are. But you know in
a way that it shows that the President is keeping
(35:32):
his promise to secure the border, and also that the
previous administration intentionally allowed the border to be wide open
for anybody to cross over, and that thankfully has come
to an end. Do we have data yet or can
you tell us when we will?
Speaker 7 (35:46):
Though?
Speaker 1 (35:46):
On the plummeting fentanyl seizures at the border as well,
because I know that there's the government of Mexico has
been claiming that fentanyl seizures are also way down on
their end of things, right, So do we have some
data on the drug numbers coming down as well?
Speaker 9 (36:07):
While so CBEF customers and Border Patrol regularly puts out
these numbers, unfortunately I don't have them in front of me,
but I'm will be sure to follow up and make
sure that you can share those with our listeners. But
I will say, you know, the President has vastly different
messaging to your point about encounters at the southern border.
I remember, I'm sure you remember your listeners, remember when
migrants were coming into the border in early twenty twenty one,
(36:29):
saying thank you Joe Biden for this open border, for
with a stroke of his pen, ondoing all the border
security measures that President Trump took in his first term.
President Trump is finally sending the message to migrant criminals
around the world saying do not come here. He is
telling migrant criminals who already are in the country to
self support otherwise we will find you and we will
support you. The messaging is vastly different, and I think
(36:52):
that is why you see those vastly different numbers. And
we're also holding the countries like Mexico and Canada accountable
for the influx of sentinel that has come into our
country killing Americans. That's part of the terribles as well.
So all in all, President Trump is finally sending the message,
after four years of sailor under Joe Biden, that enough
is enough. We will not accept these migrant criminals entering
our country killing Americans. We also won't accept this influx
(37:15):
of sentinel that is also destroying families across the country.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
Can you tell us about this news story. I think
it was Politico that put it out initially about the
clearing out of classified by USAID and also the status
of the USAID building. I think you had to do
a little cleanup on Aisle fake news on that one
for Politico and others what actually happened there.
Speaker 9 (37:39):
Yeah, so there was a so as you know, I'm
sure your listeners know USCID that building is soon to
be occupied by Customs and Border Patrol thankfully, so the
USCID employees were naturally clearing out the building, vacating the building,
and undergoing a very normal process to dispose of classified documents.
And by the way, as I said in my ex post,
(38:01):
which I'm sure is what you're pointing out, many of
these were courtesy copies, So that means these are documents
that originated from other agencies and were sent to USAID
by a courtesy And by the way, I'll add, I
want to shout out fake news NBC. They actually reached
out to me at three at fifteen for their story
on this published at three sixteen, and then we had
to walk or clean up all this fake news that
(38:23):
was spreading around and sewing chaos really across the country.
But This was a totally normal process meant to dispose
of classic copies of classified documents that already existed, by
the way, electronically as well in secure computer systems. Total
fake news outrage.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Do you feel like the media is trying to be
a little bit less rab it in their anti trumpism?
In terms of the media that's covering this White House
day in and day out. Have you have you started
to see perhaps just an attempt to be more, if
not even handed, at least more professional in how they
(39:02):
approach this or are things still pretty rough for those
who are clearly opposing the president with their coverage?
Speaker 9 (39:10):
You know, Buck, I don't think they know what to
do with themselves, because we are having fun, truly, we
are winning every single day, and I think they do
acknowledge the fact that President Trump not only won the
election by a landslide, but he won the popular vote.
He is implementing policies that the American people soundly support,
and so they can try, they can push their fake
news narratives, they can try and poke hold and what
(39:32):
he's doing, but guess what the approval is on our side.
The American people overwhelmingly support his agenda. They see that
he is delivering on the promises he made on the
campaign trail, to restore our economy, to secure the southern border,
to restore our standing on the world stage. This is
what the American people want. He is delivering on his promises,
and I think that fake news don't know what to
do with it.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Remarkable. How is it to be right in the center
of center of all the action here for a presidency
that is already transformational one month in. I know you're
super busy, and you say you're having fun. Must be
exciting stuff.
Speaker 9 (40:07):
It is so exciting. And again, we're winning every single
day and we're having so much fun. The fake news
don't know what they know. They don't know how to
cover it because they're not used to actually covering a
president who actually does sing every single day. He is
signing more executive orders than any other president at this
point in his first or his tec in term. He
is delivering on the promises he made and it's really fun.
(40:28):
I'm not sure if you knew this that I was
involved in the campaign as well, and so I was
able to be part of all these promises being made.
Watching the enthusiasm among all these Americans across the country
who are so excited to finally see change after four
years of failure. And it's extremely exciting to be part
of the process in really helping correct all the mistakes
(40:48):
over the past four years.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
White House DEFU Press Secretary Anna Kelly, come back again soon.
Thank you so much for being here and keep up
the great work.
Speaker 9 (40:57):
Thanks so much for us talk soon.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
There's a very telling video that's online, one you want
to watch. I was there for the event to witness
a prediction of what may come in the way of
our financial markets. I want you to watch it this weekend,
in fact, if you get the chance. While I might
have helped to organize this online video event, it was
actually my dad, Mason Sexton Senior, who made the prediction
regarding the financial markets. This is my father's area of expertise.
(41:20):
I think you'll find it really interesting and possibly very
beneficial growing up. I grew up in a household where
the stock market was a big deal because my dad
worked in the markets for decades. He created a name
for himself on Wall Street by his forecast. The most
notable one was calling the crash of eighty seven. His
predictions are too numerous to get into here, but he
called the crash in two thousand and nine as well.
(41:42):
This is a guy who sees what's coming, and you
can still see his prediction, his forecast for the future
when you just go to this website. It's free to watch.
Disruption twenty twenty five dot com again, free to go
watch the prediction and see if you want to take
action based on it. Disruption twenty twenty dot com paid
for by Paradigm Press.
Speaker 10 (42:03):
Want to begin to know when you're on the go
the team forty seven podcasts shrup highlights from the week
Somedays at noon Eastern in the Clay and Bug podcast feed.
Find it on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get
your podcasts.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
All right, we're closing up shop on Clay and Buck.
Was an honor to get to hang with you this
week and cover things solo while Clay was on vacation.
Really enjoy getting every day every day doing this show
is such a privilege, and it's really I love my job,
Clay loves his job. We love doing this show, and
so thank you for being here here this week. We've
(42:41):
got some exciting news about some new affiliates that have
been joining up as well. I want to just say
welcome to all of them. We are very excited to
be able to speak to your audiences. There are dozens
of them that have joined, so I won't name them
all right now because off the top of my head
that's going to be kind of a long list. Which
is a high class, high class problem. But you know,
this weekend, I'm doing something pretty interesting. I'm going to
(43:03):
be heading out to heading out to North Carolina to
do some training with my brothers and DJ Shipley, who
is a decorated former Seal Team six operative who we
will be spending some time just going through tactics and all.
(43:24):
We're basically showing up saying, DJ, teach us as much
as you can this weekend about about guns, about tactics,
about shooting, about marksmanship, you know, about self defense, about
room clearing. I mean, you know, whatever we've got time for.
We're just showing up ready to go. And so I'll
let you I'll let you know how that is next
week when I get a chance to after I've gotten
(43:46):
a chance to see for myself. But it's really it's
fun also to spend some time with the brothers. You know,
I have a baby coming in less than a month now,
and so the weekends where I can just take off
with with the guys, with my two brothers and just
go and shoot a lot and work on marksmanship and
work on those basics of firearm skills. It might be
(44:08):
a little tougher, I might have a lot more diaper
changing and things like that in my future, but that
will be a huge blessing and I am looking forward
to that too. I will say, it is remarkable how
hard it is to install these car seats in the
back of cars. I don't know how many of you
have felt the same way about this. I know a
lot of you are parents, a lot of your grandparents,
(44:29):
a lot of you have plenty of kids. But there's
got to be a better way, you know, There's got
to be an easier way than what we've got going on.
You gotta like slide through the and you got anchors
and you got to slide this. This stuff should be
so much easier in my mind than it really is.
So oh oh, that's a great idea. Producer Ali is saying,
(44:51):
leave me talk back baby advice this weekend and we'll
get to some of it next week. So on the
talkback app, or rather on the talkback feature on the
iHeart Radio app, you can send us. Remember those are
like voicemails, so you don't have to if you want
to call live on hold. We love our live callers
on the phone, but if you don't want to hold,
you just want to send in your message, you do
(45:11):
that and it goes into us and we all hear it.
And I certainly see see or hear every talkback. We
can't get to all of them on the air, but
we'll get to as many as we can. So baby
advice by all means, send it my way and I'll
let you know how training goes this weekend. Trying to
work on my skills, just just trying to learn, trying
to understand more about trying to learn from the best, honestly,
(45:34):
and that's why we made this weekend happen with DJ Shipley.
So we'll tell you about that and Clay's back with
me on Monday. Talk to you then, Shields High
