(04:15):
college Football twenty six drop week. We're gonna talk you
know Sherman Jill. They just had their baby. We got
first pitches, we got UFC potentially happened the next fourth
of July. We got a lot of things to talk
about on this apparent MAGA podcast. But welcome to Bust
went the boys. How was fourth of July weekend? It
was great?
Speaker 2 (04:35):
It was great.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
I feel like we're making America great again.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Yeah. So we had Jack and Garrett. They traveled international.
They went to Greece, they went to Italy. We'll talk
about that, you know, JP. He went to South Carolina.
Your boy went to Bonter, Missouri. Hell of a car ride.
On the way down to Missouri. Hell of a car ride.
We had two kiddos getting over some sickness. Is about
a five five and a half hour drive, and I
(04:59):
shit you not at least this is a conservative number,
at least three and a half hours. One of them
were screaming. One of them was screaming, yeah, Scottie, she's
a seven month old. She was a lot of the time.
Rue just started to get upset. She's yelling this guy
that hurts my ears. Rue's screaming.
Speaker 7 (05:21):
How many songs were played over the course of five hours, Maybe.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Five songs maybe I was gonna say three five, you
know your boy? What hell gets Scotty to quiet down?
A twinkle Twinkle Little star? So I am the Twinkle
Twinkle Little Star artist, just on absolute repeat, like the
entire time, or just I'm working on my breathing, just
going s yeah yeah, Charlie, hit it when I'm taking
(05:49):
a breath. Then I try to time it up when
she's taking a breath as we're trying to get her
to sleep. It was. It was diabolical on the car
right to Missouri. However, the trip to Missouri was awesome.
Not win the cornhole tournament, hung out with a lot
of good friends. The guy with what no he lost,
he was with it. He had he had a tough partner.
He had a tough partner, but he was a ringer bro.
(06:12):
But he's got the little cigarette just popping it in
every time while he's throwing, and he's like he's hitting
the holes left and right like you're playing the twenty one.
I know in his first game he hit every hole
except for about five, like he's just like automatic. But
shout out to Dylan and Chuck. Dylan and Chuck, they won.
They won the cornhole tournament. We got balanced myself and
(06:34):
Adam Freudel, the gentleman who was taking us around at
UH the Saint Louis Cardinals game, and he's won four
years in a row. So him us partnering up, I've
won with him before. We thought we were gonna sweep
the entire board. We got balancing double elimination. We went
i think one and two in the tournament. We went
one into in the tournament. Some tough teams, tough teams
out there the first So when we got there on Thursday,
(06:57):
we went over to UH my brother, his girlfriend. Her
family has like this massive party to where they just
start off like family and friends and then by the
time it gets dark, we didn't get to stay for
the fireworks because you got to get the kids down.
It's like nine thirty when the fireworks are going off.
But they spend about sixty five hundred dollars on fireworks
(07:20):
a fireworks show. You're in this yard. They got a
lot of acres that you're in this yard. They got
all the big dogs just setting up all over the yard.
Dudes like certified and licensed to do the lighting the fireworks.
And Cody was telling me that any given year, there'll
be hundreds of people just parked on the side of
the road just sitting and watching their show because their
show is like better than the better than Farmington Show,
(07:42):
better than Bonterre. Anybody who has a firework show going
on for the city or for the town, like it's
better than all. He's like, it's so good it starts
to get boring. But that's how serious they take their
fireworks in Missouri. If there's one thing that Missouri takes serious,
it's fireworks. I mean a stand on every corner by three,
get one free, by one, it for free, just every
deal that you can possibly imagine. Yeah, Jerry's Fireworks is
(08:05):
a building that sits there. You know, when you're driving
down the highway, you always know that Jerry's Fireworks is
sitting there because it's only open for like a couple
of weeks out of the year, and it sits there
all year round. And it's just Missouri does fireworks. Missouri
does fireworks.
Speaker 7 (08:20):
July fourth has to be the biggest bde for Dad's
holiday of the year.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Bro, because it's it's the one time, like I I
saw somebody hating on the fourth of July saying that
you can make birds, you can make burgers every weekend.
You can do you can have these like summer outings
every weekend, but it's not it's not the same like
Fourth of July. You have the time off, you have
the weekend set, you have the intention behind it. You
(08:49):
have people bringing in dishes, you have everything is going on.
There's a water slide happening where we're at. You got
the water slides, you get the poppers going off for
the little kids in the in the when it's laid out,
kids firing off bottle rockets everywhere. But it's so intentional,
and I agree with you. I think it's the best
day for fathers throughout the year, throughout the year before
(09:13):
we get into Greece in Italy, JP, how was your
Fourth of July weekend?
Speaker 7 (09:16):
For July weekend was good. We were in the water
with a lot of sitting has a lot of cousins
and nieces and nephews, so we're in there playing arounds,
flashing around, which is fun. They do fireworks on the
beach is awesome because you get to see down the
whole entire thing. So we're in Litchfield, you can almost
see to myrtle beach. You look left, you look right,
(09:37):
you have all the fireworks you need. A lot of
really good barbecue in South Carolina, obviously, so the food
was hitting. There's a pool that kind of backs up
to the beach, which is always nice because the kids
are always going back and forth. And then we went
to Charleston the next day because hopefully they posted, but
my brother got engaged to his girlfriend. They both went
(09:59):
to Calls Charleston. They live in Naples, Florida right now,
so we were all there. I got to see my
whole family, both my brothers, my mom and dad, and Charleston.
If people haven't been Charleston, Like, Charleston's one of the
best cities.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
In the country. It's a really good city, right, I don't.
Speaker 7 (10:15):
Say it lightly.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
You don't have to anymore because we went out there
for your wedding. Like you just get to see the
farmer's market that goes on on the weekend. The downtown
area is amazing. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (10:26):
The beaches too, Like I that's what Florida doesn't have
that like the Carolinas do have, is just the big
beaches with tons of like sand area. Yeah, and we're
just walking on Sullivan's Island and I'm like, man, this
is I.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Bet it's beautiful too, because, like we were saying at
this cute little airbnb in Farmington, So when we went
back and we'se still awake, like when it is dark out,
so you can see some fireworks like over the trees
and stuff like that. So you're kind of just sitting
there and join the night. But I can only imagine
that it's just probably gorgeous when it's dark out, the
heat and the humidity is kind of calmed down. You're
kind of feeling a little bit of that area. You're
(11:00):
just sitting on the beach. You're looking left, you're looking right.
Fireworks going off everywhere. Kids are hype, Kids are hype.
Parents are finding that moment to where the day is done.
You're kind of just talking about pretty much gratitude, like
fired up that everybody's gotten in the same place. You're
just watching the fireworks go. You're celebrating America, the country
on Earth.
Speaker 7 (11:18):
You know the kids are going to sleep good, yeah,
because they they played all day and they're like fighting
for their lives to stay away till so the parents
are happy. They're like, yeah, we're about to have.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
A good nice sleep.
Speaker 7 (11:30):
Everyone waits on the fourth The parade. The parade is
the parade is the ultimate. Like try that in a
small town parade. You just got people like that. The
boat just kind of that's actually a car. There was
like a produce staying. That was a boat that was going.
Kids are in like the back of trucks spraying water
(11:51):
guns at people. The small beach town fourth July parade
has to be top parade in the country.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
How many time, how many how many dads are making
common during that parade, being like it's a hot one
out here today.
Speaker 7 (12:03):
Well, there's all contests, so you can win best flow,
you can win best house decoration. Sitting's aunt and uncle
have one, or I guess her cousin. They've won best
House like five years.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
In a row.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Oh that's awesome.
Speaker 7 (12:15):
Yeah, dynasty, So it was great, Sherman, you had, you
had an eventful weekend.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
Don't say too you know, say a little bit, Sherman Young.
He's officially a father part of Poppa Team six. A
lot of the story will drop on for the dads,
which will come out you're listening to this right now
on Tuesday. For the dads drops on Wednesday. But suream, congratulations, bro,
thank you. It seemed like it was a nice, smooth, celebratory.
Speaker 6 (12:40):
Very yes, very smooth, very celebratory. I gotta give credit
where credit's due Jilly being crushed it. I was in
all the entire time. And I'm not saying that to
score points. It's just like you see the whole process
and you're sitting there and you're like, yo, my wife's
a beese, Like this is crazy. Didn't see any fireworks,
(13:02):
but we got our own little firecracker. We got Scarlet
in the world. I think that was my first official
Fourth of July where I did not see a firework,
which is kind of crazy thinking back on it, but
it was. It was so much fun, dude, and it's
just gonna make Fourth of July next year that much
more fun that her birthday is July third, so we're
(13:23):
gonna celebrate, have a party for I'm sure, and then
very next day. What is a fourth of July.
Speaker 8 (13:31):
Let's go, honestly a huge like if your birthday is
on fourth of July, kind of similar to how you're
being a birthday on Christmas, not as much like ah man,
my birthday is like because I feel if you're on Christmas,
that's different. Fourth of July everyone's party and having a
good time. But if you got the third of July birthday,
you get to enjoy your birthday and then there's always
the follow up day.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
So it's fourth of July is just a massive celebration,
where it is in Christmas with JP Battle and Christmas,
like everyone's getting gifts and yeah, you're thinking about everybody
else is getting thought of. When it's your birthday, everybody's
intentionally getting thought of, you know, in all the best ways.
But it's not like everyone's stepping out in the sun
a weekend set aside to just celebrate. And if it
(14:11):
happens to your birthday, it's like even that it's that
much better of a celebration.
Speaker 8 (14:14):
And like a third of the July, if it was
the fifth of July, that's it's almost even more of
a bummer because everyone's tuckered out, you're tired. It's like
we've been in the sun all weekend, we've been drinking, Like,
let's just chill and watch movies today.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
And if Jack's like if Jack psych oh, oh it's
Jack's birthday, You're like, dude, happy birth We're also celebrating
Jack's birthday. Everybody's like yeah, It's like JP is almost
like a second though. It's like, oh, it's your birthday.
It's like a happy birthday. Man, would you get then
he's got to use some question. It doesn't suck that
you share Christmas with your birthday. You don't get his
many presents, and he just it's the same thing all
the time.
Speaker 6 (14:45):
JP, Happy early birthday, Happy early birthday.
Speaker 7 (14:51):
Yeah dude.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
And to that point, I do want to make it
like a yearly tradition that to kick off the fourth
of July we do the Scarlet Birthday fireworks show. So
I'll I'll make it my mission that every single year
she has her own fireworks show on the third that
night to kind of like kick off the festivities of
the fourth.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Love that love it.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
So I hope to keep that traditionalive mite.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
You got to see, I mean, arguably my goat, your goat,
you're king your lord, Steve.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Yeah, so I I need to. I'd be remiss if
I didn't shout out Cam. He hooked everything up. He's
the art director over there at SR He like makes
all the march. I'm wearing it all right now. But yeah,
I got I got to see Mike finally. I had
one of my buddies, Andy and his fiance Lez come
(15:44):
down for it.
Speaker 9 (15:45):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
He's the one that actually put me onto Mike. But yeah,
it was we had like great seats. Just he's literally
right there and it's like, wow, I mean this is
really when he when he when he walked on stage,
what was the feeling, like, oh my god, here we go.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Were you eyes closed for a lot of it, just
like in your fields, just vibing or like what are
you No?
Speaker 2 (16:06):
I was, I was like I was eyes open, heart open,
eyes open. Yeah. Yeah, I was just I was.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
I was.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
I was enjoying.
Speaker 7 (16:17):
Its crazy we're here right now. It was at a
worship service.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Yeah, I was just there like singing every song that
I knew the words too. Yeah, damn near everyone. And
then he did like the layups that you hit during
when he said genobili every time, every time with the left.
Speaker 10 (16:35):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
But like he it was like I was telling people,
it's not like he's not a concert where it's like, oh,
like you're raging and stuff the entire time. It's more
of like a chill concert. But he does a really
good job of like integrating the crowd. I maybe said, hey,
how are you seventy five times? And then like he.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Hey, how are you seventy five times? Scored eighty six
points on label?
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Yeah? Yeah, And then like he like goes out into
the crowd and he was honestly like from me to
you away. I'm like, Yo, this is insane, dude.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
And you get your your hand out. Were you trying
to touch you?
Speaker 2 (17:08):
No? I I like he was too far away to
do that, and like I was in I didn't want
to be like that guy because I was with like
all of like the other like people that were not
that Like I don't know how to describe it, Like
it was.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Like you've been behind the curtain, so you're not You're
not trying to rip it open, you know.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Yeah. Yeah, I'm just trying to enjoy it. I'm just
trying to sing every song and be like, dude, this
is sick.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Like just be in the moment.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Yeah, just live in the moment. I maybe I took
maybe like four or five videos, but like the rest
of it, I'm like, I just want to be here,
be present, be in the moment.
Speaker 7 (17:42):
Yeah, right, live on the mountain, enjoy that mountain.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
How does the hey how are you? Work? Like?
Speaker 2 (17:47):
He's like, he's like, guys, this one, this one's for you.
Let me get a big fucking a how are you?
And then he just everything gets quiet. It's like the
entire crowds like, hey.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (17:56):
And it's like this is awesome. It's awesome, but yeah,
shout out cam Uh. He'd like designs all the merch.
Actually I have something for Taylor, but he's not here.
He designed this guy and they were like, damn near
everybody was wearing this one. It was super cool just
to see all like the seventy seven's and everything out there.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
And they called it the polygraph because I guess I
don't know if Taylor failed a polygraph or something, but.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Took a polygraph whenever the thing happened.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Yeah, so I he like texted me they called the
shirt the polygraph. Yeah, this shirt is literally polygraph. He
texted me and was like it was either like ostereine,
which I think is the drug that he failed for,
or the polygraph. And I texted Taylor, I was like,
are you cool with this? And then he never responded.
So he's on Canada, I know, but like.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
He's out in the mountains, so he was kind of remote,
like off the reservation for like four days before he
ended up getting back to one of my messages too.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Okay, but yeah, it was. It was awesome. Everybody there.
All the dudes looked like Mike. They all got the beards,
like the shaved sides and everything, and.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
You're just thinking, man, I gotta get right.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
No I don't. I don't want that. I don't want that.
But it was just like a literally like a Steve Heaven,
Aaron Rodgers, Like we walked in, Aaron Rodgers and Mike
were like on the stage doing like their live podcast.
Foul got his hat signed by Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 7 (19:15):
Have we fixed things with Foul?
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Are you all good?
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Oh? Yeah? Found right good?
Speaker 1 (19:18):
That was a big yeah. So we So Mitch was
very upset with Foul because Foul said he would help
move a friend of theirs. This was on last week's episode,
Big moment of the episode and Maga yeah, yeah, yeah,
mag the moment and uh and Mitch was a really
(19:39):
upset with Foul. It was like his pet peeve of
the week. And I was talking about how Foul committed
to moving help moving the friend and then the day
comes and he's a no show, and this whole falling
out was kind of happening, and Mitchell was talking about
how pissed off he was, and he still hadn't talked
to Foul. So we made Mitch. We had Mitch FaceTime Foul.
Foul answers on the pod and it's about as philly
as he can get, and they were, you know, there
(20:00):
was some friction there.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
We talked about it once I got home and everything
was straight, but.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Mitch got off the bus was like, yeah, we're gonna
talking we again.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
No, I was, I was hot. I was really pissed.
Speaker 8 (20:10):
I know the listeners and you guys already know this,
but for me and Garrett, I guess why did he.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Not show up? Was obligation He uh, he's scheduled an
apartment tour which takes twenty minutes, and I was there
for four hours helping this, helping our friend move, and
Foul had uh an apartment tour which takes half hour tops,
and then just never showed up.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Didn't to do a couple I just just to defend Foul,
didn't he do a couple of tours because he has
to look to move.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
He said he did two, and he said.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Some stuff popped up and and Mitch was like, that's bullshit,
Like I know, Foul, I live with him. Like stuff
pops up means he's just at home watching TV.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
He's just been playing playing time in a decade. Yeah,
because I'm moving. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, So we're all good. Now,
it's all good. He fouls a Steve. Now he's got
all of his merch now. But yeah, it just brings
everybody together. But yeah, shout out Cam, shout out Mike,
(21:07):
shoutout Foul. I'm a Steve for life.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Only Mike could fix that.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
I think there I honestly think there was a point
where I was just like, just when Rodman came on,
I'm like.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Man, I needed some fire.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
He played I sent a snatch out to you guys.
I sent. I sent the the lyric of what I
thought it was, she want to lick up my p Street,
but it was it's obviously not the lyric, but I
just thought it was just kind of like our little joke.
But yeah, it was.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
It was you didn't get to your snatchack because you
guys are living the dream. You guys are out in Greece. Gary,
you popped over to Italy. Jackie spent what two weeks
in Greece? Yeah, and Gary you were a week in
Greece and then a week in other spots.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
A week in Greece and then like three days in Italy.
I had to get back for the fourth you know,
I had to get you were here for the fourth.
Oh yeah, I had to get ten toes on American soil.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
I I you know, I yeah, I personally, I couldn't
imagine not celebrating America on the Fourth of July in America. Yeah, yeah,
I knew how new homeowner everything this country.
Speaker 8 (22:16):
Look, it hurt me. It was my first Fourth of
July and my thirty years on Earth that I spent
out of the country.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
The country Taylor's inn.
Speaker 8 (22:24):
Well, I mean, Taylor is Canadian at his core, and
I take full responsibility. I like to apologize to all
of our veterans, all of our service members, the country,
the children, the politicians, the MAGA community, and but I
know confidently that I will never spend the Fourth of
(22:44):
July outside of the United States ever. Again.
Speaker 7 (22:47):
I did.
Speaker 8 (22:48):
I tried to do a little retroactive celebration, and I
hung up my American flag in my backyard, which felt good.
It's it's not gonna get me off of the hook
at all, but it felt good to even though because
to me, and this rings true to a lot of people,
it's not just me. But the fourth of July, yes,
we're gonna celebrate America. We're gonna celebrate our independence and
(23:09):
everything that people who fought for our country and the
reason why. But I don't stop celebrating this country on
the fifth of July. I continue to celebrate three hundred
and sixty five fucking days a year because I love
this country. I will say Greece is beautiful. Greece is beautiful,
but man, America just being able to go get on
(23:30):
tap double cheeseburgers, milkshakes, fries at every corner, just diabetes
flowing everywhere. And I can say that because that's my culture.
But man, yeah, Greece was amazing. The people there, the culture,
the food, They're just so hospitable. It truly was like
it felt like a once in a lifetime trip, just
being able to experience like new people and new views.
(23:53):
And yeah, it's I can't really speak highly of Greece
more than I am right now.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
And the architecture, the architecture like it's it's it's insane.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
The I think the special part about being in Greece
was we were there for a wedding where we know
the bride and the groom and so there's a ton
of our friends there on this island that is so
far away from home to where you're like, oh, we're
out here. But I wake up every day and I
see thirty people I know very closely, and it's it
(24:26):
was a cool moment, like I don't know this island.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
You guys' photos were all the time, that one that
you just got the jacket, but the one that you
just had up URMs of their pool right there, like
on the cliff.
Speaker 8 (24:40):
Dude, Yeah, that's in Santorini.
Speaker 7 (24:42):
So uh.
Speaker 8 (24:44):
Me and the other guys. After the wedding, we were
in the island of Spetstos where the wedding was, and
afterwards everyone kind of went off did their own thing.
Garrett went to Italy, A couple other people went to Italy.
Me and two of my buddies. We had zero plan.
All the thing we had was our flight's book there
and our hotel for the hotel hell Are for the
wedding week after that, we were just like, we're just
gonna try and figure it out. We initially were going
(25:05):
to go from Spetstis you have to take a ferry
back to Athens, and then a ferry from Athens wherever.
We're gonna go to Meconos because we're like three single
guys and everyone's like, it's the party island, you should
see it. And then some people are like you should
and it's overrated, and then our fairy. The winds there
this time of year are intense. It'll get up and
be like fifty mile hour winds consistently and you won't
(25:26):
see one cloud in the sky, but it will be
ripping to where like your hat's flying off, you get food,
you know, your fries are flying everywhere. But our fairy
got canceled from Athens to Mekonos. So yeah, you literally
just can't travel on the boat for a fear or
you know of it safety. Yeah, turning over and you drown,
which I would never drown, but that's a different story.
(25:49):
But we went to Santorini. The views are beautiful. I
mean there's just every view you think it's gonna be like,
that's the view of the trip and then you turn
a corner and you're like wow, like god good and real.
So it was cool man, just getting it, Like Garrett said,
to experience the trip with like not only like a
few of your close friends, but like twenty of them.
(26:10):
And then the island where the wedding was, there's no
public cars. The only cars that are on the island
or service cars, so there's like five total taxis and
then there's like a couple of small trucks that deliver stuff.
So everyone's riding mopeds and ATVs everywhere, and so to
just like hop on your moped and just fly around. Yeah,
the island's really small. You could drive the whole island
on a moped in an hour and a half, so
(26:32):
like we would just do that and you just hit
beach after beach after beach. He yeah, it's just you
feel super grateful at the end of the day.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
It still do expect grease. I mean, obviously there are
parts of Greece that look the way they do Athens specifically,
but this island felt super tropical vibes and they had
a big boat port like that was like their thing
on the island is like they're like boat people, and
so yeah, you're riding around going all these beaches and
you're like, wait.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
This is grease, like right, this is Greece.
Speaker 5 (27:01):
The water's blue as ship like it is.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
It's beautiful.
Speaker 5 (27:05):
And then yeah, we went to Positano, Italy after and
oh yeah it's thirty.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
A it is in Will text me because I'm I'm
thinking they're in Greece all the time when I saw
him post a photo and Positano like Sorrento is right up,
like we stayed in that area, and I'm just like, bro.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
He The text was, how sick is thirty A?
Speaker 8 (27:30):
Bro?
Speaker 1 (27:30):
It's unreal? It really is.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
Like I was telling Will earlier that I felt really
like present in the moment because I would just be
looking around and the views and things you're seeing are
like they seem like they're un like real, Like it
doesn't seem possible. These cliffs are massive, and.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
You're thinking how are these yeah, how are these houses?
And then of.
Speaker 5 (27:52):
The little crevices of these mountains and like truly, like
when we were swimming out off the boat, like I'm like,
this is where in the sea, Like this isn't like
going to the beach here in the ocean like this
is we're in the seat and these cliffs are massive. Dude,
it makes no sense. It's super hard, like when you're
looking at it to like grasp what's going on. It's
(28:14):
ten out of ten I would recommend going because it is.
You'll seriously be thinking like they got this shit going and.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Like, yeah, I got definitely get out to Italy. You
get a chance, go to Italy. I want to get
to Greece just based on your guys, dude specifically.
Speaker 8 (28:29):
Yeah, it's and it's cool too. In the oceans, there's
like very little marine life, especially anything that would like
if you're nervous about sharks or staying rays or whatever,
because the water is so warm you around, like those
kind of animals don't aren't attracted to that kind of
that area, and it's cool, so you can just swim
openly and really just don't have any kind of worry
in the world I do. I think I speak for
(28:49):
Grett when I say this. I want to extend a
thank you to you guys for allowing us for the
first time, like since we've worked here, to fully tap
out of work and just go do that. It really
meant a lot for us to just be able to
go and like fully be just immersed in a new
culture and I have to worry about it and everyone
back home he gets that. Such a busy week, it
looks like y'all fucking crushed tight in you. So like, seriously,
(29:13):
like the biggest thanks to everyone here who like picked
up the slack for us and for you guys to
allow us to go do these things, because it truly was,
like I said, the trip of a lifetime and it
means the world that we got to go do that.
So appreciate that for you guys, have a little bit.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Of fomo when you saw that Taylor Swift photo drop.
Speaker 5 (29:29):
So many people because again we're with all of our friends,
so many people are like yo, like you didn't get
to meet Taylor Swift. Meanwhile we're in the bluest water
imaginable on island looking at fat yachts go by, Like yeah,
but yeah, I.
Speaker 8 (29:46):
Was really really fired up for you guys. Personally could
not have cared at all. But I was telling one.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Of my bludy it had to have been.
Speaker 8 (29:57):
And I think I looked one time on our while
I was there, and I just want to kind of
see what was going. It was like two days after
tightening you and I saw the engagement and I was like,
I'm good. I'm like deleting the app for now. But
I was talking with one of my buddies saying if
I was either a female or someone who is a
massive Taylor Swift fan, and like, I've worked here for
(30:19):
five years and the one time I finally leave the country,
like the person who works underneath me gets to meet
Taylor Swift. I'm sure there are plenty of people who
would have that would have ruined their trip.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
Atlantis was a little upset, yeah.
Speaker 8 (30:31):
But no, I mean I was. I was happy for
you guys. I was like, I'm good.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Seen the pop in dozen trivia?
Speaker 8 (30:38):
H well that I did that I did. I thought
we were gonna get to that at some point.
Speaker 7 (30:42):
I did hear.
Speaker 5 (30:43):
I was word on the island that the pop was
bigger at a dozen than it was when she came out.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Ah shit, you not like I staying on business When
I say the pop for a dozen trivia that moment,
that moment, that competition that was happening, that moment, that
pop was louder than.
Speaker 5 (30:58):
Where you rocked up.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
Oh buddy, you just flexed your chick. Yeah it was Yeah,
it was awesome. Hell, we interrupt this episode because we
are sponsored by Row. Don't you hate waiting for a
full erection when you want one? That is the absolute worst.

(32:05):
Back to the episode, it was awesome, it was a
good week, You say, you see, uh did you? Did
you happen to listen to us talking to Matt about
him taking the photo I did.
Speaker 8 (32:13):
I got like the I think it was just like
a little clip he made where he's talking about He's like, yeah,
we talked for thirty minutes and then it was twenty,
and then it's ten, and then it's a it's like
the first thing I said to him, I was like,
looks like you're pretty. He sent me a photo just
like unannounced, just him and Taylor Swift, and I was
dying laughing about it.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
When I saw like I muted the group text to
try and like, you know, actually take a break. And
the one time I opened it, I see the picture
of just Matt and Taylor Swift.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
And I'm like, what the fuck?
Speaker 5 (32:41):
Like before, I just remember before leaving like kind of
giving Matt like a hey, like you're gonna crush like
lock in when it's time to lock in, but have fun.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
And then that was the photo. I was like this,
we're trying to make him sweat there for a moment,
to the point his parents think that we hate him.
We do not, We do not hate me. He was
a hamsend there all you know, for July weekend. My
parents are like, hey, does does will does bustn't even like.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
You, It's just the culture.
Speaker 5 (33:08):
Before we got on, he was kind of doing the
same thing about like the Maga culture. Yeah, the comments
about the photo or.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Dude insane, man. I mean her, her world, like her,
her fame is like you don't even know how to
talk around her, like talk about it. It's it's diabolical
clipped out.
Speaker 8 (33:30):
Yeah, that like thousands of likes on Twitter.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Yeah, yeah, it was just fascinating new name.
Speaker 8 (33:38):
She is just like one of like, along with our
boy Donald T, is one of the most polarizing figures
on planet Earth. And you can just see it whenever
we touch content with them. It's just it's a wildfire.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Somebody text and asks like, who's Maga? How do you
go up from here with the flex post? And I
was like Jesus Christ next Easter when he rises from.
Speaker 11 (33:58):
Walking on water.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (34:02):
I'd like to know, can y'all you'll probably talked about
it a lot just the last few weeks. Can I
get like a best moment that we've missed maybe outside
of best Maga moment new segmentgam but yeah, I'd love
to hear anything outside obviously Taylor Swift, Matt Malone foul.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
But I mean a lot of good moments. It's definitely
one of those weeks to where you're sitting there at
the end of the week because when you're in it,
you're like, you know, you're you're grinding through. You're like, hey,
what's the next thing we got to do? We did
the tight End U concert with there all day for
Tighten You. Uh, just like another one of those weeks,
like you know when you get off, when you get
off a banger weekend or a banger week with Buss
and where you're just like you just can't believe that.
Speaker 8 (34:44):
Just so much stuff going on. How was Tightening You
at Vandy like the actual run show? And was it
like a big turnout? It was a lot of younger
tight Ends.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah, there's like eighty plus tight ends Tightening You. They
crushed it again with everybody. The podcast we did with
Greg Olsen that drops like that was an all timer,
just talking of youth football a lot of hours. Yeah, dude,
it was. It was cool. They had a huge turnout.
They did the little Kids camp at the end. They
(35:14):
kind of structured it to where it was just one
day on the field, not two days on the field,
Like it was more about some of the events and
things that they were given, like their little gift suite
packages like tight end. You just crushes it for everybody.
Speaker 5 (35:25):
Who comes in probably are in about the golf tournament
that they did or the golf outing.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Yeah, see, we didn't go to the We didn't go
to the golf.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
How was uh Jeremy Shockey a legend? Were you just like,
holy what you did? What you'd expect?
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Just somebody who's like, you know, he's still kind of there,
but his shoulders are kind of sagging because he's just
put so many dudes in the dirt. Yeah, just in
the dirt. Got a little tick to him. He could
just tell he's probably ready to fight at the drop
of a hat if you need him to.
Speaker 7 (35:54):
Hell.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
Yeah, that was awesome, maybe maybe the best moment. Seeing
Jurassic World Rebirth.
Speaker 7 (36:03):
Yeah, we great great summer movie, like you're saying, Stephen
Cha had a great review on it. Yeah, and I was,
and it paid me to go through that experience and watch.
I know Will loves the series so much, and it
was so much. It was a bad movie watching experience
(36:24):
for Will, and I think this is only second time
I've seen a movie with Will. I was disappointed for him.
I was disappointed in him.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
But that's that's fair. Yeah, because even when it was happening,
I thought to myself, I need to get up and
move right because you know, when somebody's just I had
to be on my phone because we had So we
went and saw the movie. When was that Wednesday?
Speaker 7 (36:47):
Yeah, Wednesday at noon, So we were.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Kind of off at the shop. I was telling Charles
how we had a team meeting. We might be doing
a little team building thing. Maybe go see Jurassic Park.
Maybe not. It wasn't like cool fully confirmed in her
mind that we were going on watch a movie. I
started laughing. When I got home, She's like, oh, you
want to see it? I was like, yeah, that's what
I was doing.
Speaker 7 (37:09):
Oh my hey, that makes it even funnier.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
We had two little sick kid I was Rue and
Scottie were both sick. Scotty was really congested. We had
the snot sucker on or going on at like all times.
Rue was starting to get a little sick from scott
whatever Scotty had. So we had two sick kids. On Wednesday,
the ac upstairs goes out on Wednesday. I think it's
like Wednesday morning because it was like eighty five degrees upstairs.
(37:34):
But I'm just thinking, all right, we kind of have
one of those things where it's got the range where
it's cool down to sixty nine, our heat up to
sixty nine, cool down to seventy two. So I thought,
whenever we wake up in the morning, we kind of
turned it from like sixty eight back up to in
that range. So I'm thinking, all right, the heat might
have just kicked on and it's just a little hotter
upstairs because the week's been The last couple weeks have
been pretty hot, so it was like eighty four eighty
(37:56):
five upstairs, and it's kind of blowing hot air. And
again I'm thinking it's just it turning back. And so
we get through the day before I leave because charl
had to work and we didn't have we didn't have Audrey.
So I'm rocking with the kids up until eleven, when
I drop them off at bar three to go with
Charros at childcare. And when I'm leaving, I'm like, man,
it's hot up here. Bro It was like up to
(38:17):
eighty seven, and I'm just thinking like hopefully it like
turns around. I'm like closing the windows. I'm closing the
blinds and stuff. And so we go to the movies
to see Jurassic World. Well, the AC is identified to
be like broken, it's not working correctly, it's blowing hot air.
It's ninety degrees upstairs, so the AC's out upstairs. Kids
are in turmoil because they're getting over sickness. They're kind
(38:39):
of sick. Charles's having just a rough time, and she's
essentially texting me at play by play of all this
going on, like a while I'm watching Jurassic World. So
I'm like having to hit up Robbie. Shout out the boy, Robbie,
our guy that does our HVAC stuff. He's got somebody
going over there. I'm texting on my Hey, somebody's gonna
be there within thirty minutes. Ruth screaming about, you know,
(39:00):
the lemon and honeywater that Charles said she was gonna
make her, and Charle text me, I didn't know we
were out of lemons. I used the last lemon because
I'm on my ship right now, so I'm using my
lemon water and salt. I used the last lemon in
the morning, and I'm just thinking, so, just order another limit.
So I'm like, I'll get one. I'll get one delivered
over to you. I'm ordering lemons.
Speaker 7 (39:15):
I'm doing the a movie mid movie, bro, I'm just
seeing the text go I get distracted and.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
I'm not sitting there trying to like break down the
entire context. I'm like, oh, he's watching a movie. He's
trying to enjoy it. He sees my phone going on.
I see my phone going off. I'm hating that I'm
having to sit there and text. So like my favorite franchise,
top three, top five, favorite franchise, the newest movie's going on,
and it was. It was. It was a tough performance
for me.
Speaker 7 (39:40):
And that wasn't even the worst part for him.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
And Chroe didn't know I was at the movie theater,
so I'm like, hey, I'll be home soon. And then
I'm like, you know, I'm hydrated. I have to go
to the bathroom. This awesome scene in the ocean happens
where it seems like it's calming down and they like
the boat crashes and they're like crawling on the side.
I'm thinking, right, this could be a moment they might
be catching up on some some side conversations. With the
(40:03):
plot building a little bit, I'll have JP and Mitch
break it down for me. When I get back, I
run to the bathroom. I come back, they're kind of
like laughing with their head down. They're like, bro, you
missed so far the best kill of the movie. And
probably everybody's talking like it's one of the best, one
of the better scenes like in that movie. And I
missed it because I had to go to the bathroom.
So I had to go to the bathroom. I fucking
(40:23):
texting on my phone. I am watching the movie, but
my phone is like out it was I want to
I told Charles, Hey, I want you to see the movie,
like you'll you'll you'll love it, like I'll love watching
it again.
Speaker 7 (40:38):
I the first scene was crazy. We don't I don't
want to spoil it, but like how the whole movie
gets set up.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
There's a yeah, if there's a negative to the movie,
we'll just the hint is.
Speaker 7 (40:49):
Ye snickers rapper, yeah, but also the uh, the kill.
Like as I go back and sit and review the
movie in my head, it probably was like the least
eventful hill, but because of the situation of like you
being on your phone, then you popping out to go
to the bathroom and coming back and missing it. It
gave me like like late night chuckles when you have
(41:10):
a sleepover when you're young and you just like can't
stop laughing. And I was just like, man, this might
be one of the funniest moments in the movie theater
of all times.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
I tell you what, though, we housed that large popcorn.
Speaker 7 (41:22):
Before it started, before the movie my stomach before, But
that's every time.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
That's natural, Like, I know, I'm getting a large soda,
I'm getting the raisin ats, We're getting the popcorn. I
don't ever usually go big bucket of popcorn, but we
had this little family deal going on up on the
menu that we had to get. We couldn't turn our head.
Speaker 5 (41:41):
Did they have a special popcorn bucket for Jurassic World,
Like it's.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
Refillable, Like I'm thinking, yeah, we're probably gonna refil this, but.
Speaker 7 (41:50):
We could have. I should have had you go out
when you went to the bathroom.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (41:56):
On the topic of dinosaurs, I did hear that the
company that brought back the dire Wolf is working on
bringing back a dinosaur. I can't think of which one,
but that's their next project. And I think Tom Brady, oh.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
There's enough. I mean, the movies are out there. The
movies are out there. It's a mistake to create dinosaurs.
Speaker 7 (42:19):
They're already created.
Speaker 1 (42:21):
JP got to learn about the depth and education I
have on these dinosaurs.
Speaker 7 (42:25):
Raptors come on the screen for the first time. Hey,
they'll go the Raptors.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
You know.
Speaker 7 (42:29):
He goes, oh shit, the raptors, and he said rats.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
In JP fashion. He's like, you're you're one boy. That
your boy that only knows one dinosaur in the entire movie.
Speaker 7 (42:42):
The Raptors. Bro, you see the Raptors.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
Any dinosaur they come on, I'm like trying to remember.
I'm like, hey, that's a what was that one? I'm like, hey,
that's a Delevessaurs right there, you know.
Speaker 5 (42:52):
Just to let you know, they have been playing all
the Jurassic Parks on TV, so you can tell it's.
Speaker 1 (42:58):
I enjoyed the movie. If you address that's good the franchise,
you'll enjoy this.
Speaker 7 (43:02):
Mon they said. Scarlett Johanson became the highest grossing actress
in like movie history, passing Samuel L. Jackson or something.
They've just been a part of the most crazy Marvel.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
Oh yeah, yeah, that makes sense. It was fun. That
was a good time. Nobody was in the theater.
Speaker 7 (43:21):
Yeah, there was one solo. There was one solo old
dude that was in the row ahead of us. I'm like, man,
I can only pray to God that that's me in
forty years a movie.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (43:32):
I felt for him because he had to go to
the bathroom and he was walking so slow, and I'm
just I'm like, pro, he's about to miss so much.
He's about to miss so much, and nobody is there
to recap it for him. I should went down.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
No spoilers, but thoughts on the d Rex. Yeah, I
thought the d Rex was a little odd. Rex looked
like an animal that should be in like hills have
eyes or something like that. I thought they tried to
try too hard with making this thing. Yeah it did.
Speaker 7 (44:06):
It looks like a million.
Speaker 1 (44:09):
It looked like an alien.
Speaker 2 (44:10):
That's tough.
Speaker 6 (44:11):
She's made a fifteen point four fifteen point.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
Four, that'll be a dozen question next year. I'd be
ready to go fifteen point four billion bonies bony you
guys see, Uh, hey, some Fourth of July news can't
talk about fourth of July and not talk about Joey Chestnut.
Speaker 7 (44:32):
Yeah, just doing it again.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
I mean, the the gap is so big, it's did.
Speaker 7 (44:37):
You see the question of if they had to eat
a hot dog and run one hundred meters, who would win,
Joey Chestnut or you saying Bolt.
Speaker 1 (44:44):
Yeah, I like that question. I think it's still you
saying right.
Speaker 7 (44:49):
I don't know. I think it's Chestnut because I think
somebody was saying he can eat a hot dog in
one and a half seconds.
Speaker 1 (44:55):
But so if you're going by the rules of the
hot Dog Company atition, when he's throwing them in there
in the last seconds, it counts if it's like in
his mouth, fully in his mouth. So I'm thinking if
you think and just get the hot dog in his
mouth and he can start running like he's he could,
that's where he'd beat him. Then he would just finish
it to completion. They gotta swallow it. That's where Joey would. Yeah,
(45:17):
they gotta swallow the dog, right, they gotta swallow the meat.
That's where Joey would have him. But I think if
it's if you just get it in your mouth, I
think you say still takes it.
Speaker 7 (45:26):
Yeah, I agree with that, but it Yeah, we need
more rules. We need more rules.
Speaker 1 (45:30):
We just need that to happen.
Speaker 7 (45:31):
I wonder why, Like because Joey justnut going into it,
probably knew he wasn't gonna break the world record. I'm like,
if it's me, I'm gonna just gonna break my opponent
and stay on pace with him and just be looking
at him the whole time, and then once we get
to like forty, start going double just.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
Like okay, just tawn him the whole time. Yeah, because
it's like, how else do you have fun with that
if you're Joe Chestnut? But he's so much better than
everybody beat hot I saw seventy and a half. Does
he have like a streak of like in the seven
he's going so his number is always trying to get
at least seventy?
Speaker 7 (46:04):
Yeah, that's the world record.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
Right, that's the record. But I want to say he's
got like maybe consecutive when he returns where.
Speaker 5 (46:11):
He's had over seventy, do they put like his jersey
in the rafters or they just put like a massive dog.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
I think they just got to call it the chestnut,
Like when they have a trophy, they just called the chess.
Speaker 5 (46:21):
Got to make like a hot dog brand he has,
he he's.
Speaker 7 (46:27):
Got, he's got to have sauce because remember he was
on the vegan stuff last year, so he didn't compete,
ruined his legacy for a paycheck.
Speaker 4 (46:35):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (46:35):
Yeah, that was a moment that was a little shaky
for him.
Speaker 2 (46:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (46:38):
Now look, hey, Magma community did not like that Maga moment.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
Yeah. Yeah. Fourth of July rumors of UFC celebrating two
hundred and fifty years of America at the White House
on the lawn. How sick would that be?
Speaker 7 (46:58):
It would be sick. But all so, who's gonna be there?
Because us us. But I'm saying, if you're the fighter
and you just have like fifty politicians like Ted Cruz,
is just ringside, Like there'd be no juice, no juice.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
It would be like the movie what is it with
the with the Channing Tatum and he's fighting all day?
Speaker 7 (47:20):
No, it's a fight club or not fight up? No, no, no,
no fighting movie movie.
Speaker 2 (47:28):
It's like the wrestler movie.
Speaker 7 (47:30):
Right, No, No, it's uh, he's true. Yeah, I know
exactly what you're talking about. I think it's called like
fighting or like, yeah, Channing Tatum fighting movie.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
Step up.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
But it would be an environment like that, right, you
just have all the just the richest politicians fighting.
Speaker 7 (47:52):
Yeah, great movie, great movie, Terrence. I love Terrence Howard.
Speaker 1 (47:58):
That buddy's solving the WARLD right now.
Speaker 7 (48:01):
Insolved.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
Yeah, insolved, he's seen it already. Oh it's starting to rain.
Apologies if you hear that. Yeah, brought the rain back.
Speaker 7 (48:10):
Were officially have more rain than Seattle so far this year.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
Just what's your JP What is your dream fight card?
Speaker 7 (48:18):
Dream card would be John Jones versus Aspinall, Yes, which
is the US versus Britain.
Speaker 1 (48:24):
Yeah. Uh, then it.
Speaker 7 (48:25):
Would be McGregor Taylor. Yes, McGregor will be one year
into presidency in Ireland. More, there's one more on Pereira
versus somebody.
Speaker 1 (48:35):
Oh God, Ilia versus Islam.
Speaker 7 (48:39):
Yeah, Ilia versu Islam.
Speaker 1 (48:40):
If Islam wins the welterweight belt, we were talking about
this on the phone, but you know people vacating the belt,
vacating the lightweight to go up to welterweight. Uh, Ilia
vacating Uh not not? Was it featherweight to go up
to lightweight?
Speaker 7 (48:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (48:58):
Featherweight to go or is it bantam weight no, bannam
featherway Okay, yeah, but Islam wins the welterweight belt. You
could have the super fight of all super fights for sure,
Islam versus Elia McGregor versus Chandler, Aspinall vers Jones on
the lawn of the White House, I know, two and fifty.
Speaker 7 (49:17):
Years or or you just do a full US versus
Russia card and Trump and Putin are sitting on opposite sides.
Winner gets like whatever they'd like, do a trade deal. Yeah,
that would be No. I think we'll win because John Jones,
(49:37):
Michael Chandler, Now, we we got guys to win because
would have to fight Morob again.
Speaker 1 (49:45):
Yeah, I don't know if we can have I don't
know if we can risk that a matchup against Morob.
Speaker 7 (49:48):
It would be pretty even. Honestly, I think that would
be intense.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
The world would be so involved with that. There's some
training so hard.
Speaker 2 (49:59):
I mean we would obviously we.
Speaker 7 (50:02):
Would just send our guys to Russia to train. Yeah,
but yeah, that is the card the triple champion. Well,
I guess Mike's Mike won't be a championship fight.
Speaker 1 (50:11):
But because the who are the who are the women again?
Speaker 7 (50:16):
Whi's Legacy verse Kayla Harrison versus. That'll probably happen before
then though, Yeah, yeah, probably.
Speaker 1 (50:24):
Because timelines you see McGregor having the interest with the
whole White House.
Speaker 7 (50:28):
That's the only thing that brings McGregor back.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Yeah, it'll be interesting, you know, if he does get
in the octagon again, it'll be.
Speaker 7 (50:36):
And if he does run for president in Ireland.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
I see you see uh you know on on X
where something like that will happen. McGregor will post it
and somebody will ask Grog like, how you know, where's
he at in the running and Grog just talks about
he's only got like seven percent of this but that's
how unlikely.
Speaker 7 (50:54):
That's how it starts with those the people outside of politics.
Speaker 1 (50:59):
What else do we got? Man? Yeah, should we hit
an ad Let's hit an ad Rea. We interrupt this
episode to bring you simply Safe. Simply Safe. Simply Safe
protects bustle with the boys in our office. What do
you want to keep safe? Uh? Maybe your family, your kids,

with professional monitoring and your first month free at simply
safe dot com slash busting. Again, that's simply safe dot
com slash busting. There's no safe like simply Safe. We
(52:09):
do have a It is drop week for College Football
twenty six and Mitch before we started the show, he
has he had hopes like we always do, like let's
start a dynasty. We've heard Daler and Hard Junior talk
about his dynasty. Let's get a dynasty going with the
boys of the bus. I love like internally, I love
the idea. Just knowing us, it's like it's never gonna
(52:29):
get done. However, I am fired up to play the
new CFB twenty six. I want to say the Huskers
are are we twenty five? Like we're we're top twenty
in offense.
Speaker 2 (52:39):
I think you guys are going to be a pretty
good squad, like a for a video game squad. Yeah,
you guys are gonna be a good a good.
Speaker 1 (52:45):
Tier it just in the game, like not playing with
the best teams on the game. Yeah, yeah, a good
squad to pick up and compete with.
Speaker 2 (52:52):
Like if you and Taylor were to start playing again,
and like did the Nebraska versus Michigan, like that would
like Michigan was broken in the last game with all
all of like Mason Graham and all those.
Speaker 1 (53:01):
Guys that they had like still took care of from them.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
Yeah, I think it would be even more lopsided with
with Nebraska.
Speaker 1 (53:08):
Mitche wants to play just so he can be the
national championship, national champion every season.
Speaker 2 (53:13):
For sure, I said, I said, I'm going to take
Delaware to UH to the to Promise to the Promised Land.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
I mean, that could be fun.
Speaker 2 (53:19):
I've been to like their stadium a couple of times
because my cousin went there, and it's like a cool
Their vibe that they have going on is super cool.
The Blue Hen Delaware Blue Hens Pride of Joe Flacco.
Speaker 1 (53:30):
A team to play with on College Football twenty six
South Carolina Broken.
Speaker 7 (53:35):
We just have the ultimate video game players that the
game makers love to see of. Just sick we have
on offense, the minute of game maker sees a six
four to twenty guy that's fast, it's like, yeah, fun
with let's have fun with it.
Speaker 2 (53:51):
Edan Start or jilln Stoart, Dylan Stewart, He's he's going
to be like broken in the game.
Speaker 7 (53:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (53:57):
Tackle and Leonora Sellers is like you said, Michael Vacoms, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (54:01):
That's like that's a team to play with it this year.
I mean you saw the clip with Kirk Benkert. Yeah,
Sellers to just scramble around ends up scoring. But you
got a quarterback who can run, who's mobile. You don't
have to understand all the passing game that goes on,
so you can take off and run. And then on defense,
if you're not like a great user player, usually you
default to play with the defensive lineman, right, the rusher
Dylan Stewart like your team. Your game is like taking
(54:24):
care of It's.
Speaker 7 (54:24):
So fun and I did it made me feel good
because it's obviously the video game hype like South Carolina,
so much of our attention is like coming from this
type of thing on a national scale where they're like, man,
these guys are sick. Well, like let me actually watch
South Carolina. So you're like, man, people are tuning in
more than they have before. Still not you know, like
(54:45):
at the top, top level, but you're like, man, we
just we need you guys to deliver this football season.
I know they will. It made me feel good when
at the Manning Passing Academy the Mannings gave their top
three quarterbacks and it was nusmier Arch and Sellers. They
gave Sellers the theyred if you're in on.
Speaker 1 (55:04):
The game, Cocks now, like it can be a very
it can be an awesome year.
Speaker 7 (55:08):
Yeah, it could be an awesome year. We have a
lot of futures bets out there with FanDuel. This could
be the greatest. Yeah, futures video Sherman I recorded earlier
a message to myself on the day of the SEC Championship.
Speaker 2 (55:21):
I just think I'm going back to the video game,
Like I'm so happy that like this game is back
because we were without it for ten years and I remember,
like as a kid, like just so excited for the
drop day because like you you're excited to see like
the new graphics packages and like the new ways that
the players can move and stuff, and like the fact
that college football video games are back is so awesome.
(55:42):
And I also saw something they might be bringing back
at college basketball video games, yeah, which.
Speaker 7 (55:48):
Is I could shoot in that park all day.
Speaker 2 (55:50):
Yes, so, and I remember like like the basketball game
like eight or with like Kevin Love or Kevin Durant
on it. Yeah, like football games or college video games
are back, and I'm so excited for it.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
You just know who the players were too, Like you
have to you know, you get their number and everything.
Speaker 2 (56:09):
Else, like shooting guard forty two or yeah, running back
quarterback fifteen for Rail or something like.
Speaker 5 (56:15):
A highlight up on X of Reggie Bush in the
video game. All that and he's moving, dude.
Speaker 2 (56:22):
We got to get YouTube in the game. We were
talking earlier, I know, I was saying in like an
Ultimate an Ultimate team, they kind of have like moments
and stuff for you to like be be this player,
do this moment. As you said, once you finish this moment,
you get that player's card. I was saying for you that, uh,
what is it? Capitol one bowler Capital George.
Speaker 1 (56:44):
We don't talk about it enough for a lot.
Speaker 2 (56:47):
I don't know what you could do for Taylor. I
mean kind of just an offensive lineman, but it would
be sick. They just have to.
Speaker 5 (56:53):
Score a touchdown. Maybe I know it's from the pros,
but get.
Speaker 1 (56:56):
The Willie C card by getting a pick six against Georgia.
Speaker 5 (56:59):
They they did just put out a new video game cover.
I don't know if you saw it. We just posted
the new cover.
Speaker 1 (57:08):
On x WE.
Speaker 6 (57:09):
We also have some breaking news. I'll go, I'll get
that pulled up. And we are friends with e A Sports.
This is nothing against THEA Sports, but I feel like
in the new update with the intro for Nebraska, there
is not a will Compton High video going on on
the JumboTron before kickoff that has been released officially. It's
(57:33):
not included in the game.
Speaker 1 (57:35):
That sucks, so that it's breaking news that it's not
in the game.
Speaker 6 (57:38):
It's breaking news that's not in the game. People are
already commenting on the video saying, where's the will Compton
High video?
Speaker 5 (57:45):
Is scrilla in the game.
Speaker 1 (57:48):
Even if there's no audio, just him with the yeah,
you just see something on the on the jumbo tron.
When it's like that would be all time, Come on,
A Sports. We love you e A Sports. So many
great updates with this game. I heard in a in
a Road to Glory. Now you can play Road to
Glory and get your player all the way to where
you can export it in Madden, yeah, because people love
(58:11):
the Road to Glory stuff.
Speaker 2 (58:12):
And then you can like import it into like Madden
be in like the Superstar mode of Madden. Right, but
like you now, in Road to Glory, you start in
high school, whereas in last year's game you just kind
of started as a freshment.
Speaker 1 (58:24):
Used to be that way, right, that way where you
play like you'd play a few games in high school
and you get recruited so far.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
You'd raise like your star rank, yeah, which like that's
what made that old game fun. Becau's like I got
to be the best I can, so I can be
a five star, so.
Speaker 1 (58:39):
Little dorm room yep.
Speaker 2 (58:41):
So I'm stoked for this game to come out. I've
been I looked at, uh, like my stats on like
the EACE. It's like the twenty five game. I think
I played like nine days worth of just that game itself.
Speaker 1 (58:54):
So why can't we get mentioned the game?
Speaker 2 (58:57):
If they were able to get a D three Susquehanna Football.
Speaker 7 (59:00):
Twenty nineteen team, like an ultimate team.
Speaker 2 (59:02):
That would be on I remember I like in college
Football fourteen. I went through on the computer and made Susquehanna. Yeah,
I have my team on my Xbox three sixty, but like,
what's the.
Speaker 1 (59:14):
Team your Mitch Cars card unlocked moment.
Speaker 2 (59:18):
It would probably be, yeah, gotta be getting the game.
The my third touchdown of the game. Game we want
a touchdown in overtime against Dickinson.
Speaker 1 (59:25):
Mm hmm. You have to go on unlock Mitch Cars.
Speaker 2 (59:28):
You will probably start in ot and then like you
just have to score a touchdown with me. No, it
was a it was a comeback route. Guy was on
my back, fucking caught it, get off me and then
my boy, my boy good he had like a crackback
block and just went in and I just went ballistic.
Speaker 7 (59:44):
They got they gotta let you do nil purchases in
the new game that you should be able to buy stuff.
Speaker 1 (59:52):
So you're I hate bringing up I hate bringing up
I hate bringing up uh this brain when we're talking
about EA. But it's like when two K would have
their created player and you would have like a like.
Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
A right, yeah, exactly what went to like a car
to drive around like your town rather than like the skateboard.
Speaker 7 (01:00:10):
Purchases could unlock players.
Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
Where are you going with this?
Speaker 7 (01:00:16):
That's a jack And when you look back here we
were laughing. Yeah, Jack said. Jack was like, but you
buy Veneers, you unlocked will content.
Speaker 8 (01:00:27):
But historically accurate, it wouldn't make sense because I'd have
to be in Madden.
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:00:32):
Yeah, but if it's in I l era though, good question.
Speaker 8 (01:00:36):
If you had the Nile money flowing in like they
do today, would you have gotten Veneers in college? Yes,
let's go, but he would have been a problem. He'd
be at the on O Street tearing it down.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
But it's you know, Choro, she'll bray have these old
photos where it's like my neck is thick, my face
is bigger and stuff, and it just I look razy, man,
I look crazy with them little chicklets in my mouth.
Fun fact, though I wasn't eighty nine impact player on
college football thirteen. Yeah, that's sick. Yeah I was. I
(01:01:12):
was fired up, but it woulda let's get let's get
a little little little pregame feature where you see you
got Memorial Stadium and you just got on the jumbo
tron just oh Willie see with his face painted again?
Doesn't have to be audio, Yeah, just there because they
got the tunnel walk all wrong. Now they have the
(01:01:32):
old school tunnel walk where you're jumping up and hitting
the horseshoe. They don't have like the new the new
stadium or not new stadium, but the new locker room
how it walks to the stadium. This year, I think
that maybe I saw an old video.
Speaker 5 (01:01:45):
Isn't Crawford in it?
Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Or maybe maybe that would be hype. I mean he
did during the Colorado game and he had the belt
and everything with him. Yeah, I thought that.
Speaker 5 (01:01:55):
I thought I saw that in the game because I
saw they need scrilla.
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
Oh is this it? That's it? Okay, then that does
look correct? I oh you're not able to show it. Yeah.
We don't want to get copyrighted. Don't want to get copyrighted.
We do have codes. We'll have some codes to send out,
so stay connected with us on our social media channels
at BUST and WTB. We will have coach to give
out for the new EA uh C B twenty six.
Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
Maybe if we don't do a connected dynasty, maybe we
have like a Bust and one like a fan one,
I'll be in it. I can moderate it or whatever,
and then like they could like the winners. I'm gonna
win the national championship, but like whoever comes in second
could like just get merged or something like. It's a
cool little way to like get the fans involved and stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
And you just want to dummy. You want to dummy
some folks in college football. I'm I think we need
to get you connected. And you play Kurt, you play
against Kurt.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
But so the thing is with Kurt knows no, I no,
I know, but like what no, Like Kurt obviously understands football,
and he knows like if you motion a guy over,
put him here and run this route, it's like you
can't beat that. So like, but that also comes with
knowing more football, Like I'll just I ask coach every time.
(01:03:18):
I'm just picking a play and I've run probably like
twenty plays, and like I'm not motioning anybody changing routes
unless it's like I just want this guy to do
a little something here for like a first down. But
like Kurt like knows how to really exploit everything. But
I would love to play Kirk because then I would
learn it from the best. So shout out you Kirk
for being the best. But I watch all your videos,
but that would be awesome. I would be a boring
(01:03:41):
g said, I should stream, I would be a boring.
Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
We nominate Mitche to go against Kurt. Yeah, just to
see how it unfolds.
Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
If he were to come in the shop and do
stuff like that, that would be I would all be
all about it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:54):
That would be fun. Yeah, sure, has on the board.
What are you wearing? I am wearing our new what
are these called? Why jumpsuits.
Speaker 11 (01:04:04):
It's like a Hawaiian set.
Speaker 1 (01:04:06):
Yeah, a little Hawaiian set. You got your swimming trunks on,
you got your your top. You can get this at
BWTV dot com, um shops, you drop shops, you drop
what else in the colleg football world? Oh you see
uh you see the video Josh Bate. Yeah, the massive risk.
He's like, I'm willing to put everything on the line
(01:04:26):
for Nebraska to be better than six and six. I'm
just thinking, like, that's not that you're not putting much
on the line.
Speaker 7 (01:04:33):
And then he put it on you. He said, it's
up to Will Compson and Matt Rule not to mess
this up.
Speaker 1 (01:04:38):
Yeah, most most important three seconds of my life. He's right.
I mean, he's not wrong, But to me, there's just
there's not there's not a world to where like being
better than six and six is not even debatable in
my humble opinions. Because I was texting with him and
(01:04:59):
he was like, what did he say?
Speaker 6 (01:05:03):
Let's see here, But I think to have the commissioner
having you over six and six, that's big, that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
Do what I'm just saying.
Speaker 6 (01:05:14):
He like, the fan favorite commissioner of college football is
saying your team is going to do better than six
and six. I don't see the issue. I don't know, well, I.
Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
Don't see an issue with that. It's just I'm willing
to bet, like I'm willing to my wallet everything that
they'll be better in six and six. I'm like, that
is not that risky. Because he texted me he said,
they never noticed when you toss love out shame. I said,
better than six and six is love to you, Joshua.
He said, that can mean twelve and zero. I said,
he could also mean seven and five. He said, how
(01:05:46):
much bigger a stand can I possibly take? I said,
eight plus are my foxhole guys. Those are the guys.
Buying stock. Those are the guys that understand what's going
on in the kitchen of Nebraska football. Are they really
see ten plus win level optimism batting for a costwall
playoff spot? No, very few are very few have that
kind of courage. But the ones seeing the field, seeing
the field with eight plus are the ones I'm ready
(01:06:07):
to go to war with. He responded, I can do
eight by August. I could see myself flirting with the nines.
Speaker 7 (01:06:14):
It's an accomplish.
Speaker 1 (01:06:15):
Yeah, no, I don't. I think he knows, and I
think my my push to him is he is like
one of the biggest voices in college football. If he's
pushing that wagon and Nebraska is hot, and when we
do win those amount of games, he's the guy that
saw it before everybody else could see it. That's what
I'm trying to tell folks out there.
Speaker 7 (01:06:37):
Confirmed game Cock, Confirmed game Cock. A lot of the
media personalities high on them, A lot.
Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
Of the mini personalities are high on the game Cocks. Yeah,
So how does that make you feel? I like, when
it's like a few, it's like there's still people don't see,
people don't understand, like what's actually going on at the university.
So it's like, hey, by stock now you're still always
welcome on the on the bandwagon and when it happens,
but you're gonna feel so much better that you knew
it before.
Speaker 7 (01:07:03):
Was fucking happening, right, Yeah, it's I mean, if you
see if you would have just looked at last year
without like they should have been saying that last year
knowing sellers would be back.
Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:07:14):
If in college football, if you have a quarterback, like
a lot of good a lot of special things can happen.
Speaker 1 (01:07:20):
You have you have a quarterback, you have a top five,
top ten pick.
Speaker 7 (01:07:26):
I gotta check on our linebackers. That's how I gotta
check on.
Speaker 1 (01:07:29):
But you know, when you have knowing you have guys
like that, knowing you have genetics like that on your team,
it feels like a big like not make or break here,
but a year. If you're a game Cock fan, like
you have to be so excited. But there's also a
lot of fear with that because it's like, these are
a couple of generational type players that we have and
(01:07:51):
hopefully the results show with these players, because who knows
that we'll get these cats again.
Speaker 7 (01:07:56):
Yeah, it's almost like.
Speaker 5 (01:07:58):
This year and moving forward exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
Yeah, because these guys are are obviously gonna come. If
you got for SATs like that on the squad and
you don't you don't produce with it like that'll obviously
you know, the deterd cats from being like you do
got to go to those biggest.
Speaker 5 (01:08:13):
The biggest thing I think for them is these guys
are generational talent. What they're gonna help do in recruiting
and then if they do end up staying again is
when I think you see the like the work paid off.
Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
Right, I'm excited. God, it's good. So Mitch, are you working?
I saw I saw from Taylor because he was like
something about fifty days away college football can't get here
soon enough, and it was like our old video.
Speaker 7 (01:08:40):
From which was crazy enough.
Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
Oh he came across that and found that because that
was like back in twenty twenty three. That was back
in twenty three when we kind of did our Fall
Tour announcement the places we're going to. Are you working
on a high video for this year? I can for
sure get you in the We need to get you
in the kitchen on that do we want to? Because
those are.
Speaker 7 (01:08:57):
Juice You gotta figure out the games.
Speaker 2 (01:08:59):
Yeah, we want to figure out the games because that's
that's kind of how I.
Speaker 1 (01:09:02):
Made it for Nebraska's in there.
Speaker 7 (01:09:05):
I mean, I can September Nebraska, late August Nebraska, early
September Nebraska.
Speaker 2 (01:09:12):
The whole month. Even if I were to just make it,
those always play because like those college football videos.
Speaker 1 (01:09:16):
Oh my god, they are so juicy.
Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
They goosebumps every time, and it's the biggest thing. You
just got to pick the right song.
Speaker 1 (01:09:23):
And we're getting so close. Fall camp starts at the
end of this month. Training camp starts at the end
of this month. The headlines are gonna be flying, the baits,
the arguing, what do you point at? Vandal's got you?
Speaker 6 (01:09:36):
Nebraska at plus three fifty for ten plus wins on
the season.
Speaker 7 (01:09:40):
Dang, they're confident you all.
Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
South Carolina, they're over under seven and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:09:47):
I'm gonna push it too.
Speaker 2 (01:09:49):
What can we put up there?
Speaker 1 (01:09:50):
To Dandel's sportsbook, If you go right now to the
futures win totals, Nebraska to get ten plus wins this
season is sitting at plus US three fifty. There are
no guarantees in life. However, I can't say I guarantee
you that I can't say, however.
Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
No you can. You can't say this is a guarantee.
Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
If yeah, no, this is there are no guarantees. This
is not a guarantee. I'm just letting you know the
stuff that I'm hearing, the stuff that i'm hearing plus plus. Yeah,
if you don't want to go all the way to
ten plus, there are nine plus wins sitting at plus
one fifty on this FanDuel app right now. I'm just
(01:10:32):
I'm just saying, you saw.
Speaker 7 (01:10:33):
What cam Ward said about y'all's recruit that's committed to Nebraska.
Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
No he oh yeah, yeah, well he was uh.
Speaker 7 (01:10:39):
He was throwing with them, thrown with them. I want
to play with this guy one.
Speaker 5 (01:10:42):
Yeah, I didn't know that guy was a Carolina recruit.
Speaker 7 (01:10:45):
Nebraska Prasca recruit probably will be a Carolina guy.
Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
It's like anytime videos like that are coming out and
they're just committed, they're not at the school, I'm just
always nervous.
Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
I'm like, oh shit, oh yeah, yeah. The line is
already out for South Carolina Clemson. At the end of
the year. Somehow Clemson is plus four or South Carolina's
plus four and a half.
Speaker 7 (01:11:06):
Against Clemson at home too on this year. They're high
on Clemson every year.
Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
Bro.
Speaker 7 (01:11:14):
They like their schedule and they love Club Nick. Yeah. Yeah,
he's good in the ACC. Yeah yeah, good in the ACC.
We dummied him last year. Thank you for that interception
in the red zone, Cad.
Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
How about Notre Dame getting all the getting all the
legends of the NFL. All their sons are going to
Notre Dame Shadow Marcus Freeman, Dude, seems like a hell
of a recruiter. I feel like Notre Dame is like
getting back to just being Notre Dame like they were.
They had their stint even in like the twenty ten's
and everything, like that's where they go to the Collegewall playoff,
but they kind of get blown out right, they get
(01:11:55):
blown Yeah, they go against Bama. We've heard all those stories.
But it feels like now Notre Dames getting back to
where they are becoming like one of the prominent teams,
like one of those blue bloods, back to their blue
bloods that yeah yeah, yeah. Happy for Shane, too, happy
for Shane.
Speaker 11 (01:12:12):
I think I watched for the third time already.
Speaker 7 (01:12:14):
Yeah, I'm interested to see Plexico Buris's son.
Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
Yeah, yeah, because you gotta he's gotta be a first
Jerome Bettis, Thomas Davis, Larry Fitzgerald, Plexico Burris, Jermichael Finley,
and who's the other one, Bryant. All their sons are
going to Notre Dame, which I think is cool. You know,
those dads are just they're fired up to just be
(01:12:39):
at Notre Dame.
Speaker 7 (01:12:39):
Yeah, yeah, I feel like it. I mean nowadays, I
feel like we're seeing way more like family. Yeah, families
make it in both NFL and NBA.
Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
Yeah, it's gonna be fun. Man. Yeah, you guys see
the uh, we'll hit we'll hit this and then we'll
get into the rock party interview. Did you guys see
the Cam Newton Jalen Hurts debate going on? I did?
Speaker 7 (01:13:04):
Who do you have?
Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
I think it's Cam Newton? I mean Cam Newton. It's
like they're both. They're both great Jalen Hurts, great player.
But Cam Newton is somebody that you had the game
plan four, Like when you're playing the Carolina Panthers, it's hey,
this team runs through Cam Newton, it runs through the one,
(01:13:30):
it runs through Jersey number one, and so you would
have to do everything around Cam Newton Jalen Hurts hell
of a player has stats. His stats will probably be
comparable because where he's at now compared to where Cam
Newton was, it seems like they're on track. He's got
a few more rushing touchdowns. It's like, okay, yeah, five
guys push you into the end zone. But his stats
are there to where it could be like a debate
(01:13:51):
are an argument, so to speak. But Bro, you're not
game planning Jalen Hurts the same way that you would
game plan Cam Newton. Like on the Eagles, you got
Seakuon Barkley. They've been known for their line of scrimmage
for like the last decade. It feels like they got
aj Brown, Deavonte Smith, they got all these weapons. Now,
Carolina had great players on their team too, but I'm
telling you, the entire pulse, the entire game plan was
(01:14:14):
around Cam Newton.
Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
Who was Carolina's best receiver.
Speaker 1 (01:14:18):
That with Steve Smith. I mean, Steve Smith was a dog.
Greg Olsen was a dog.
Speaker 7 (01:14:23):
He was he was older though. I feel like, yeah,
and you're right ted ginning, But Bro, there's a horrible
highlight tape out there. They're like, y'all want to have
this argument look who Cam Newton was throwing to. And
Ted Gutting dropped like six wide open touchdowns in games
at somewhere. Losses as well, they were like less than
a score.
Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
And I'm just saying that Cam had a lot of
good players, a lot of good talent around.
Speaker 7 (01:14:45):
They had good defense.
Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
Yeah, I mean Luke Keikley had Shaq, Yeah, Thomas Davis,
Shaq Thompson, their line of scrimmage with Star and Yeah
Peppers Julius Peppers, Like they had some Josh Norman, they
had some dogs. So you know, when you say like
Cam new And didn't have as much to work with
him Jalen Hurts, the argument will be, oh, he had
great players, he had great He had great teammates too,
That is true. Like Greg Olsen was the beast, Steve
(01:15:07):
Smith was the beast. Ted Gin Yeah that he was
a beast. All those players were good players. But it's
not like when you're sitting in uh, when you're sitting
in game planning against the Eagles, like there, you have
to think about all of these other cats before you
think about Jalen Hurts. He is a weapon in the
run game. He can throw the ball well, he's got
a good passer rating, he gets the ball into the
hands of aj fucking Brown. You got Saquon Barkley, and
(01:15:30):
you're talking about the line of scrimmage, not in the
same breath that you are when you're playing against the
Carolina Panthers, because it's like everything runs through Cam Newton
to play. So I think it's Cam Newton. People want
to talk about leadership and showing up. Yeah, like Jalen Hurts,
phenomenal leader, great on the mic, anytime he gets in
the press conference, he's he's an awesome fucking player. It
(01:15:52):
seems like an awesome guy. But the stuff you hear
about Cam Newton with his competitive nature and just watching
this specimen on the field, you'd be at their pregame
war but you'd see this student. It's like that is
a fucking action figure. And he was deadly ever because
he like he's they scheme runs for like he was.
He was so fucking good to play.
Speaker 6 (01:16:11):
To play. The Chiefs thought the same thing about Jalen
Hurts and said, just make him pass. That's all we
gotta do is make him pass. And then we saw
what happened.
Speaker 1 (01:16:22):
But it's not make him pass, like is an incredible runner,
we have to stop him on the ground and make
him throw. Like that's more like Lamar Jackson. You're not
necessarily gonna stop him, but you're gonna try to do
as much as you can to win on first and
second down, so that Lamar is throwing the ball. And
again that I'm not saying Lamar can't throw the football.
That's just how you're trying to game plan against him.
(01:16:43):
It's like, make him throw it to beat us. Like, yeah,
you might have that same sentiment against Jalen, but it's
not because he's the most unbelievably dangerous runner. Cam Newton
was Lamar Jackson. He is like Jalen can run the ball.
He can run the ball well, they have all their RPOs,
they have their quarterback run game and everything else. He's
a good runner. But he's not. He's not Cam Newton.
Speaker 5 (01:17:05):
It's a I feel like it's a it's almost like
an unfair argument.
Speaker 1 (01:17:10):
Yeah, but it's it's you know, it's one of those debates.
It's sure I have fun with because it's like they're
both great quarterbacks. Like Jalen he's a stud. I like
him as a player. I like him every time. Again,
anytime he's he's doing a press conference. He seems like
an awesome dude to fucking play with and play forward.
Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
They're also like polar opposite people, Like you see their builds.
Cam's more vocal and stuff in the media. Jalen's like
suit and tie, like keep it, keep it straightforward. Like
and it's a fun debate, but like I think it's
Cam Newton all over.
Speaker 1 (01:17:40):
Yeah, it's a fun debate. But it's like the Eagles,
their franchise is so much better than Carolina. It's like
they were winning the four Jalen Hurts was there. They
they won When Cam or not Cam Carson Wentz went
down during an MVP season, Nick Foles comes in, they
still win the Super.
Speaker 5 (01:17:55):
Bowl years What did they do in Cam's first four years?
Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
Cam also threw for four hundred yards in his first
game in four thousand yards as a rookie.
Speaker 1 (01:18:05):
Yeah, and that was a franchise that was like, yeah,
that was bad, bro, Bro. Jalen Hurts came into like
a super Bowl winning culture, a super Bowl winning team.
It's Cam Newton for me, gotta gett I can't.
Speaker 5 (01:18:21):
I can't go with Cam. It just runs deeper than that.
Speaker 6 (01:18:25):
I can't those are his first four seasons.
Speaker 5 (01:18:28):
I can't see what what was Cam's first four seasons?
Speaker 11 (01:18:30):
What they do?
Speaker 5 (01:18:34):
I mean, I know it's a team game, but look
at Jalen Hurts first four years.
Speaker 1 (01:18:39):
But if you're looking at records though, the Panthers weren't even.
Speaker 5 (01:18:42):
Clas That's why I said, I know it's a team game,
but proven winner, right, solo solo beast quarterback verse proven winner?
I did people still sleep on Hurts and I don't
understand says the thing like, I'm not sleeping on him
for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:19:02):
I don't think player. I think he's an awesome player.
When when you're talking about the debate of Cam Newton
versus Jalen Hurts, I just.
Speaker 5 (01:19:08):
Think it's hard to not take Cam Newton.
Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
For sure.
Speaker 5 (01:19:11):
You have the number one overall pick between the two
of them, you're gonna take.
Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
Yeah, you're gonna take Cam Newton. But if you're they're
both sitting there, you're taking Cam Newton. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:19:22):
I can't say it though.
Speaker 6 (01:19:24):
It feels like the beginning Pokemon selection of like Charge
blast toys, Yeah yeah, and you're like, you know, Cam
is gonna be a charge R Like Blast Voice is
cool too, but like a flying dragon that she's fired like.
Speaker 1 (01:19:43):
He might be Venosaur. No, No, not venus Saur. I've
got that's like, what's the middle one bubble sore? Ivy, Yeah,
he's Ivy Sore. I mean he's on such a fun
I think, and I don't say that to take away
from Him'm just saying he is on a fucking and
same team.
Speaker 5 (01:20:00):
Who how long did Cam play?
Speaker 2 (01:20:05):
He played like probably ten or eleven years, but those
last two are on like the Patriots and Pain.
Speaker 5 (01:20:12):
Yeah, he went back to I'd be curious to see,
like at the end of Hurt's career what the conversation is.
Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
It's like if they were, if they were both on
middle of the road teams, Like Cam Newton can win
you games, right, Cam Newton, Like it's proven that you can.
He's a superstar that can win you games. We don't
know that, like maybe Jay.
Speaker 5 (01:20:33):
That was the question early in his career with the
Eagles was well, I mean we asked it last year
for the Super Bowl, like would you rather have Pat
Mahomes with two minutes left going full field or Jalen Hurts?
And I'm pretty sure we almost all picked Pat Mahomes. Yeah,
but yeah, it's hard because no, that's a.
Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
Good point because he took down the greatest dynasty, one
of the greatest dynasties of all time in the Chiefs.
But it's just so hard to compare these athletes in
a game that is such a team game. But if
you're just looking at your ability, man to fifty, I
think Cam Newton is a psychopath out there on the field.
Speaker 6 (01:21:12):
Yes, and I know that college isn't like a part
of this argument. But to G's point of like what
do they bring to their team, it's they went fourteen
to o his Heisman season, National championship season, that same roster,
similar roster, there was graduate, like they have that really
good running back that graduated before.
Speaker 1 (01:21:33):
But the next day.
Speaker 6 (01:21:35):
They went eight and five and it's like fourteen and
oh to eight and five. That's a that's a big
dip in just one.
Speaker 1 (01:21:42):
Yeah, yeah, we're talking about Cam.
Speaker 5 (01:21:44):
Think about the quarterback room at Florida though, Timo and
Cam Newton.
Speaker 1 (01:21:48):
I know, Palancy bros.
Speaker 5 (01:21:52):
But you you didn't have to throw the football at
Florida if you just kept both of them.
Speaker 10 (01:21:57):
Yeah, thought, man, yeah damn that And there was funny
do you know Eagles fans are probably like, oh, you
didn't have Like they're probably picking out a year.
Speaker 1 (01:22:10):
To where Jalen did have, like a a percity type
of here. I just.
Speaker 5 (01:22:16):
Jalen did go to the super Bowl before he had
uh Aj Brown and DeVante Smith.
Speaker 1 (01:22:21):
So yeah, yeah, I still like to me, it's It's
it's Cam Newton, Cooper our Coop Cooper Comstock. All right,

Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
We'll get to that. Whatever space for that. We space
for that and.
Speaker 3 (01:24:23):
A little and also from Arizona.
Speaker 11 (01:24:24):
Do you know that?
Speaker 1 (01:24:25):
Yeah? I did not know he's from Arizona. Yeah, I know.
His brother was on the Huskers for a moment. Was
really hoping he'd bring us back to superstardom.
Speaker 3 (01:24:35):
You were hoping for a Brock party.
Speaker 1 (01:24:37):
Yeah, uniform because Brock was spinning it and I see
Chubb a party. Okay, let's see what this kid's got,
thinking that we're gonna go. This is where we make
our national championship run. Yeah, I want to say he
was twenty twenty two.
Speaker 11 (01:24:48):
Yes, was that when we were the.
Speaker 1 (01:24:51):
Greatest three win team in college football.
Speaker 3 (01:24:52):
Could have been the guys are the greatest all time.
Speaker 1 (01:24:55):
Twenty twenty one. You missed it by a year. That
was probably Scott Frost's last hurrah last yeah, last two
raw due.
Speaker 11 (01:25:03):
Not.
Speaker 3 (01:25:04):
Since we're kind of on the college thing, how was
high school recruiting for you?
Speaker 11 (01:25:07):
I mean for me, it was all last minute, same thing.
I was like, still the the guy that I don't
know if I hit a gross spurt late is what
you want to call it. But I was just overlooked
and the last five weeks before signing days when I
got the offers coming through, so I'd take like five
trips in a row and then decide and sign. I mean,
it was so random. It was Boise State, Iowa State, Alabama, Texas,
(01:25:30):
A and M and U c F.
Speaker 1 (01:25:32):
Did Alabama and A and M offer Yeah yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:25:34):
But it was more like, you know, A and M
was legit, but the Obama offer was like, hey, we
need a guy to fill up this roster. It was
like a couple of weeks after two through that touchdown
the natty so like, yeah, they didn't have anyone like
you know the sign Yeah yeah, So.
Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
Hit me with the names again. It was A and M, Alabama,
Iowa State, U c F Yeah, B y U No.
I don't know why I thought B y E No.
I wasn't really listening to I actually was asked tip
of coffee burnt my mouth pretty hard. I was kind
of a blender myself, So I do apologize.
Speaker 1 (01:26:08):
While Iowa stayed over A and M.
Speaker 11 (01:26:11):
I mean, at the time, dude like Jimbo Fisher just
got to A and M. Matt Campbell had been to
Iowa State, and I just loved what Matt Campbell stood
for like he had this vision of like, you know,
you're playing Big twelve football, Power five. You know, they're
like the sleeper, you know, kind of program. I was like, due,
I want to go somewhere and do something for the
first time. Like my high school that I went to,
(01:26:31):
they weren't known to be good or anything. And then
growing up, I was like, I'm going to go there
and change that culture and then win. We went to
the state championship game. We lost, but like took it
to a new height and same thing with Iowa State.
I wanted to do that, and uh so I chose Campbell.
Speaker 1 (01:26:45):
Yeah, because A and M, I know, just back from
our recruitment like in eight and stuff like A and M.
Pre n I l like, you're set up pretty nice
on campus with like an apartment. Yeah, you had a
nice setup like in dorms. Really like you you you
have a pretty red carpet experience.
Speaker 3 (01:27:01):
And you had the opportunity to go to A and
M's campus.
Speaker 11 (01:27:03):
Yeah, no, I checked it out. It was was pretty sweet.
Like everything feels like a little bit of a. I
wasn't gonna say anything first writing.
Speaker 3 (01:27:10):
For someone else, like you get there, it's like everything Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:27:13):
Yeah, it's different. I don't really know. You know, obviously
the Aggie Ring stuff, and you know when you graduate
you get Agga Ring and Aggi's help. Aggie's like. It
was just like what's going on here?
Speaker 7 (01:27:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (01:27:23):
Yeah, I have nothing against them. Yeah, but that's just
sort of you know my feel when I was there.
Speaker 1 (01:27:28):
So, how was your journey? And I Aloway State? You
mentioned the coach Campbell. I would love to hear stories
about him because I feel like, just as an outsider
with the Iowa State and not being like a prominent
team that's covered you and you're out, you always kind
of hear the rumors about Matt Campbell what he's done
at that program.
Speaker 11 (01:27:42):
Dude, he's the most loyal guy you know, I've ever met.
You know, he was a guy that went to a
small D three mount Union and then just like new
guys there and then brought them to Toledo. They won
a lot of games there, and then they went to
Iowa State and he created this culture there and yeah,
for all these years, everyone's like, do this guy, He's
going to get picked up by all these teams and
do that. He was getting thrown a lot of offers,
(01:28:03):
you know, to go out to USC and all these
other like NFL teams, and year after year, he just
kept denying it and saying, no, I love this this
program and I want to take it to New Heights,
and I got dudes here that you know, I'm not
even just trying to help them with football, but with life.
Like Campbell's like a father figure to so many guys
you know that he recruits and that come through that program.
So just a loyal dude. Everyone loves playing for him.
(01:28:24):
He's not about the money. All he cares about, man
is raising his kids right, being a family man, a
father figure. He's got an amazing family. So like I, dude,
he's he's the man. I hope it'd be like him
one day.
Speaker 1 (01:28:34):
So when you were gonna be a quarterback for him
your senior year and stuff like it, was he getting
offered to go to different places at that at at
at that time?
Speaker 11 (01:28:43):
Yeah, oh yeah, And what are.
Speaker 1 (01:28:44):
Your conversations like with him when you were probably like, hey,
I hear what you're saying, but it's kind of it's
probably hard to turn these down. Are you actually going
to be staying here for yeah?
Speaker 11 (01:28:53):
I mean for him. You know, he had a couple,
you know. One year, I think the Lions was like
a big one for him. And then my senior year,
I was leaving. I was out the door and we
met with him after my senior night and he was
crying pretty hard our senior night and everyone's like, all right,
like what's going on, you know, like you could tell
there was something going on, like he was gonna leave
kind of thing. Met with him the next day and
(01:29:14):
and I think USC offered him something legit before Lincoln Riley,
and so when they offered him some stuff, he was
just deciding on whether to go. He's from Ohio, he's
a Midwest guy. But I actually brought my dad with
me the next day. When I met with him and
we talked, I was like, dude, my dad was in
my life, like he coached me up ground balls all
(01:29:34):
the meeting, Like my dad was with me, like he
was he was there, and I'm so grateful for that.
And you know, he was talking about out in LA
it's just a different world, you know, compared to the
Midwest and where he's used to and being in his
kid's life and stuff. It would just be a different
kind of environment and not knocking USC California anything. I'm
not knocking anything, it's just it's different. And so after that,
(01:29:55):
like he was, he was crying, and like we all
were going through emotionally and stuff. But he, you know,
after that, he decided, you know, I'm gonna stay at
Iowa State. I'm not saying I was the determining factor
in that, but I think just give him a little
perspective on, you know, being a father, what matters raising
your kids. He could do that at Iowa State and
names Iowa.
Speaker 1 (01:30:13):
So, man, that's awesome. That is you have a coach
like that.
Speaker 3 (01:30:16):
Yeah, who doesn't just look at a dollar sign and
be like, Okay, I'm gonna get next jump Because obviously
we all have selfish thinking at some point, being like Yo,
this would be awesome to get X, Y and Z.
Speaker 1 (01:30:24):
Do you know what number?
Speaker 3 (01:30:25):
Do you have an idea of what number?
Speaker 11 (01:30:26):
I have no idea. Yeah, he didn't tell me all that.
He was the saying there was an offer you.
Speaker 1 (01:30:30):
Probably close to whatever Lincoln Riley was getting.
Speaker 3 (01:30:32):
Probably. Yeah. You mentioned like being in high school and
then choosing to go to a high school because you
want to change the program. You go to Iowa State
because you want to be a guy that changed the program.
What how did have you always been like that or
is that like you know, something you learned, Like, Okay,
if I want to make a huge mark, this is
how I got to do it. Like what what what
happened for that to happen?
Speaker 1 (01:30:49):
Dude?
Speaker 11 (01:30:50):
Growing up, like my family and I always talk about it,
I always wanted to be on like the worst teams,
like just to show everybody like there's this little edge
on me or something where I was like, I'm gonna
show everybody with what is dealt like what I've been
dealt with, Like I'm gonna try to make something cool
out of it. And that's been all the way back
to you know, pee wee or whatever, like just growing
up like in the backyard, dude, I want to pick
(01:31:10):
the worst kids, like our buddies that weren't that good,
and I was gonna go beat my brother and all
his buddies and like just to prove a point. But
same thing with high school, like they were the highest division,
they weren't that good. But I was like, du there's
so many opportunities here to like go play good teams
and like show people like what we're about and make
a name for the school and stuff. So I don't know,
I was drawn to that same thing. Iowa State, they
(01:31:31):
play Power five, They're gonna go to ou Texas. We're
gonna play all these big schools, and you know, they
have been really known for winning games. But I wanted
to help put them on a map. And so like
my time there, we got to I think like six
in the nation and at one point and like we
were just outside of college football playoff like there's we
had our moments and did pretty well there, but I
was just excited that I was surrounded by good people.
(01:31:52):
We can go make a name for ourselves in that school.
So been attracted to that kind of mentality my whole life.
Speaker 3 (01:31:57):
You talked about playing a state championship. Obviously, being an
Arizona Cat myself, I'm interested. Who did you play in
the state championship.
Speaker 11 (01:32:02):
And play Chandler High School?
Speaker 3 (01:32:04):
Yeah, they have what like fifteen guys going d.
Speaker 11 (01:32:06):
One dude the whole roster.
Speaker 3 (01:32:08):
Yeah, it's insane. It's like Chandler Brophy And there's like
one other school I think.
Speaker 11 (01:32:12):
On Hamilton Hambleton.
Speaker 3 (01:32:13):
Yeah, they always like the highest division. They're always the
guys that are just turning out cats over and over again.
Speaker 1 (01:32:18):
Yeah, just the star set of roster. Yeah yeah, he's
going to Miami. He's going here, he's going yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:32:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:32:25):
The state championship, Yeah, we got u in the fourth quarter,
lost by touchdown on those no ship. Yeah, we kicked
an on side kick and we got it, but one
of the kids on the opposite side of the field
like ran a little early, was off side.
Speaker 1 (01:32:39):
Bullshit.
Speaker 11 (01:32:39):
We had to rekick it and then we didn't get
it in those games.
Speaker 3 (01:32:42):
How would you like, you guys going back and watch
that film, did you see the kid going a little
faster or started like slightly?
Speaker 1 (01:32:49):
Okay, so it was.
Speaker 11 (01:32:51):
Yeah, it was tick attack for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:32:52):
Okay, so you're thinking there was the Illuminati of high
school football in Arizona was like, we can't let this happen. Yeah,
we can't let these wonder dogs take that out.
Speaker 2 (01:32:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:33:00):
No, it it was sad.
Speaker 1 (01:33:01):
Going into your like going into the draft, Like, what
were you hearing the potential of going into the draft
because you obviously have a hell of a senior year.
You did what you did in high school, you're kind
of doing the same thing at Iowa State. I guess
what I'm trying to ask, is there ever a pointy
that's like you're just fed up with the bullshit that
they're not looking at the body of work and measuring
you just by tangible things.
Speaker 11 (01:33:22):
I mean, yeah, you know, it's it's tough, you know,
as an athlete going into the draft, like trying to see,
you know, from an NFL team's perspective, like if you're
good or not, and you have all these questions. You
hear them talking about this guy's being compared to this
quarterback and this is what his careers looked like as
a backup or a practice squad guy to getting cut
after a couple of years, and then you start telling
(01:33:44):
yourself like, dang, am I not that good? Like am
I is that what my career is gonna look like?
So there's all these different kind of things you start thinking.
But for me, man, it was my whole life. Like
we just talked about, with recruiting, I was overlooked. I
set all these state records and stuff, and I never
got one offer until the very last minute, you know,
going into college as the backup, and I got an
opportunity and I rode with it. And so like learning
(01:34:06):
from that experience going into the NFL. I was just like, dude,
I don't really care what people say. It's how how
can I get an opportunity? You know, it doesn't matter
how you get there, it's what you do when you
get there. Like I just kept telling myself that and
believing myself with that and sort of similar. I got
drafted last Like my college recruiting all came very last minute.
I got an opportunity very last minute by getting drafted
(01:34:28):
by the Niners, and I was all right, like, let's
just go make the most out of this opportunity.
Speaker 1 (01:34:32):
So what was that like? Being drafted as mystery irrelevant,
the last pick in the.
Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
Draft kind of badass?
Speaker 7 (01:34:36):
Yeah, dude, what'd you say?
Speaker 1 (01:34:37):
When did you think you were going to go?
Speaker 11 (01:34:40):
I thought hopefully, you know, like early day three, not
really knowing when or what. But and then at the end,
you know, the Niners said, hey, like I called me
before the seventh round started and like, we got one
more pick. We're gonna try to take you or a safety.
And I was all right, So I got off the
phone and I google it and I was like, bro,
it's the last pick, like you gotta be getting And
(01:35:00):
so in that moment, I was like, dude, I could
be mister irrelevant this year. But I was laughing. I
thought it was like comical, but yeah, just overall, man,
I was so juice. And then when they said my
name on TV, dude, my whole family like screen like
I was the first overall pick. It was fun.
Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
Did they say like when you get like towards the end,
like you'd rather be a free agent? That miss was
your agencying that to you at all? Like, hey, you
have to pick where you have to go and kind
of the situation there.
Speaker 1 (01:35:24):
Yeah, yeah, this boy shout, Hey, it's almost better to
go and drafted and go on the seventh round you
get to pick your spot.
Speaker 2 (01:35:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:35:31):
Three people try to draft Will in the seventh round.
He said, no, yeah, drafted out of the draft.
Speaker 1 (01:35:35):
He's going to take me in the age Yeah, yeaheah exactly.
You know I'm not taking any more phone calls shutting in.
Speaker 3 (01:35:40):
Please please, We'll give you a ten million dollars, Like, guys, please,
you sound embarrassing me. I'm choosing the team right, exactly.
You've always dictated you real queer buddy. I'd love you
for that, boy, But did you guys have that conversation.
I mean, if you want to jump in, you're more
than welcome to. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:35:58):
Yeah, I guess a great question for an agent. And
you got guys who are going to be, you know,
when the day's unfolding and they're probably going to go
in either the seventh round or ue drafted, Like, what
is that conversation with your guys whether they're taking it
hard or there it seems like they're taking it well.
Speaker 9 (01:36:11):
Yeah, So I think you always want to be drafted,
right because the team has all these guys on the
board and they choose you to be a draft pick.
They've got a plan for you, they've got, you know,
a process for all that kind of stuff. So you
always want to be drafted. But the flip side is
if you're not drafted, you can renegotiate your contract after
two years instead of three, which is a huge you
know addition, then you get to pick the situation as well,
(01:36:31):
which gives you a little bit more flexibility.
Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
Are guys that were taking it wrong when you're kind
of breaking it down for him, like are they are
they ever in it? Mentally? Like when the seventh round's
coming around, Like, why the fuck have I not been
drafted yet you told me this like Anyboddy's kind of
so a few different things.
Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
Yeah, yeah, right, And you have an expectation.
Speaker 9 (01:36:47):
You try to set the expectation for your clients going
into the weekend so they have a great experience of
posic experience through the weekend, where the end of the day,
whether you're drafted last or the beginning of the third day, you're.
Speaker 2 (01:36:58):
Still excited about you know, the situation.
Speaker 1 (01:37:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:37:00):
But I think for really all.
Speaker 9 (01:37:01):
Clients, even if they're drafted later than I thought, all
of the pain and anguish and disappointment goes away and
it all disappears, and just like Brock said, you celebrate
like you're the first big in the draft because you
were drafted.
Speaker 3 (01:37:14):
Yeah, and so that's really cool for guys getting family
juiced up. I know we're starting to lead into the NFL,
but I do want to bring us back to college
for a second. What's with you in the month of October?
You were obsessed with Spootober. Do you love Halloween?
Speaker 2 (01:37:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (01:37:28):
I mean everyone just called it b October and I
was just riding with it.
Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
I was all right, whatever, whatever bars in town that
Friday night'd been like you know, it is October. Might cook.
Speaker 11 (01:37:40):
I don't know what my stats are in college in October,
but I'm pretty sure it's like crazy. I think only
have like two losses or something.
Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
Yeah, you know, I do remember.
Speaker 11 (01:37:53):
That's why I remember that. But sixteen, Yeah, who were
those two losses to Oklahoma State? I think both of
them Cowboys? I think, so, yeah, man, they're.
Speaker 3 (01:38:02):
Not like it's like that's not the team you want
to see.
Speaker 11 (01:38:04):
A last I know, but I got I was two
and two against those guys in college, so I did
get them. But yeah, the two in October, I'm like, bro, god,
that's your mind. I wish I was eighteen and in October.
Speaker 3 (01:38:14):
Yeah, that would have been a hell of a stack.
Are you Like, at what point is everyone being like, yo,
October comes around, We're not worried about anything. Like the fans.
Speaker 11 (01:38:23):
Yeah, no, dude, the most sold out games were in October.
Speaker 1 (01:38:27):
We're going to enjoy. We're going to take these dolls
coming out.
Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
That is crazy, right, Yeah? You big Halloween fan?
Speaker 11 (01:38:35):
Yeh ish. I like the movie Halloween, like Michael.
Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
Myers and phenomenal, but there's also like seven.
Speaker 11 (01:38:39):
Yeah, I know the original I know, No, I agree,
the old ones dude, I got this nostalgia with like
my dad, like Halloween, We're gonna put on Michael Myers.
Speaker 3 (01:38:48):
Yeah, but the new ones, those old slashers. I thought
the one that came out in was it twenty twenty
was when the second one came out, Halloween Kills. Yeah,
and that's where because that's when they brought Jamie Lee
Curtis back. She did one of their movie, but the
original Halloween. Like James Carpenter who wrote that, he was like,
this is like the first movie he like approved. Essentially
since the original Halloween came out, I thought that was awesome,
(01:39:09):
but it was definitely like a part two. And then
Halloween Ends ruined our lives because we got excited.
Speaker 1 (01:39:16):
We got together, Yeah, playing the theme song all the
way to the theater. This is this.
Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
Is doom Doom Doom Doom do and we're just in
the car hoping we probably see him in the distance. Honestly, buddy,
it was terrible. Yeah, terrible.
Speaker 8 (01:39:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:39:31):
I still in justice.
Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
We got it, We'll get it back.
Speaker 1 (01:39:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:39:34):
But so October, you rip, what's your record in the
NFL in October?
Speaker 11 (01:39:38):
That I don't know. Yeah, honestly, we gotta bring it back.
Speaker 3 (01:39:41):
We got to bring that back to it. Yeah in October. Well,
we'll get some graphics going.
Speaker 1 (01:39:45):
Paint a picture for what it was like going into
building your rookie year, Like what situation you're in. I
want to see Trey Lance was there? Yeah? Who else
was in the quarterback room?
Speaker 11 (01:39:53):
Nate Sudfield, So yeah, the best love Nate. It was
those two guys, and then they brought me in and
then they also had Jimmy on the side. They didn't
know like what was gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
When you Jimmy injured or was that more contract?
Speaker 11 (01:40:06):
It was just more like the organization was like, hey,
we're going with Trey Lance, you know, we're gonna build
them up, and obviously we got a Jimmy was still
under contract, but they were I think trying to trade
and trying to make something else happen, you know, for
you know, his career and all that. But at the
very end, uh, Nate Sudfeld and I were like competing.
They brought Jimmy back in and then released Nate and
(01:40:28):
I was the third guy. So that's just sort of
how the final roster.
Speaker 1 (01:40:32):
What is it like for you, Like what you're learning
about how much of an uphill battle. It is for you,
as you know, a seventh round pick going in your
rookie season, Yeah, competing with Nate Sudfeld and thinking like, okay,
am I competing for a practice squad job, like this
is gonna be. It's a little different than what I expected.
Speaker 7 (01:40:47):
No doubt.
Speaker 11 (01:40:48):
I mean it's it's nothing's given. I mean, I know
you guys all know that, but every rep matters. I
got two reps at the end of each period, and
that was my opportunity, like every day to show the
organization and my teammates like what I was made of.
So Nate got a lot of the second string reps
and whatnot. And I absolutely love Nate seltfel. I know
I said that, but nothing but respect. He took me
in man, taught me a lot of things, just how
(01:41:09):
the NFL works and stuff. He was great, and so
did Trey. But you know, that's just the NFL. You
got to compete, and you know, for me, it was
I gotta go out there and I have nothing to lose,
exactly like, I just got to go show these guys
that I can go out there and rip it and
make the right decisions and be a guy who if
something happens, I can go in and be trusted. And
(01:41:30):
I thought I showed that throughout you know, practice and
and some preseason games and stuff. And I know I've
said this before, but like before the first preseason game,
We're at practice practice ends, we come in and I
could see like Fred talking to Trent, and I like,
for some reason, like I just saw them talking. And
then I saw Fred say like, I can't wait to
watch this party kid at the preseason game tomorrow against
(01:41:51):
the Packers. And I was like, shoot, I was like, okay,
Like at that point, my head has just been down.
I'm just trying to do good at practice and all that.
But I was like, all right, they are noticing, you know,
like the starters and the guys like they're they're seeing something.
Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
Two dogs.
Speaker 2 (01:42:04):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:42:06):
So for me, I was all right, now, I just
got to go out on the game and under the
lights in front everybody and execute and saw that chip
on my shoulder bro and not look back.
Speaker 1 (01:42:14):
So yeah, obviously that's a moment where you're feeling it
from your teammates and your peers. It's a really fucking
cool feeling. When in the coaching staff was a turning
point to where it's like, okay, I am. It seems
like I'm turning a couple of heads right now.
Speaker 11 (01:42:27):
I mean, just after practice and stuff, watching the film
like Greasy and Kyle like coming in and going over
it with all the quarterbacks and just like rep after rep,
like being consistent, accurately ripping it in tight windows, like
all those little things. Like I was like, they never
really said much, but I was like, they gotta be
thinking something like yeah, you know, but I just never
(01:42:49):
I didn't know. Yeah, And but you know, you still
have to go through another practice and finish camp strong
and play well in the preseason games and then when
the roster comes down to it, you find out. And
for me, I had no idea. No one said anything
to me. I was just trying to get a feel
through my teammates and stuff. But all that, honestly didn't matter.
What mattered was me going out the next play and
(01:43:10):
doing it again. And so it wasn't until you know,
the roster came out, and then uh there started well
actually they were starting to like make cuts and call
guys into Kyle's office, and so we're in the quarterback
room and then Kyle opened up the door. He goes, hey, Rock,
can you grab your stuff and come talk to me.
I was like, bro, I was like Mike getting cut Like.
I was like, dang, dude. And then he goes, no,
(01:43:31):
I'm kidding. He set your stuff down. He's like congrats, bro,
and then dap me up.
Speaker 3 (01:43:34):
No shit.
Speaker 1 (01:43:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:43:35):
I was like, dude, my heart was just counting me.
But I don't know all those moments were.
Speaker 1 (01:43:41):
It's a wild because like they're starting to coach me
a little bit harder right now because you kind of
just don't know. And for everybody like listening and watching,
it's like when you're at the bottom, you're kind of
just you know, you realize like you're kind of there's
zero focus on you. If you work out great, if not,
like you are who we thought you were in those moments.
I remember being in the linebacker before our first preseason
game at Tennessee and my linebacker coach, he wasn't super
(01:44:04):
into me at the time, and he was like, well,
they want to see you run with the two's. Apparently
you've been doing some pretty good things. I'm thinking, I mean,
that sucks to hear from my position coach, but that's
when it's.
Speaker 3 (01:44:12):
Like only some good stuff. I don't see it, they
see it, So I guess we're gonna roll with that.
Speaker 1 (01:44:16):
Yeah, but you're just sitting there and whether or not,
like you know, it is all about going through the
next playing stuff. But it's like a like a an
expectation you have on yourself to where you're thinking about
it just NonStop, like what are these motherfuckers thinking? Like
am I going to have a shot? My families sent
me up, my friends are in me up. What are
they thinking right now? There's a lot of there's a
lot of anxiety, but that is that's sick.
Speaker 3 (01:44:36):
Talk about Trent Bill a little bit because as an
office lineman, he's our goat, like he is maybe the
greatest to ever play the game. He is amazing. How
does it feel when he's in the game compared when
he's not in the game. And I know that's a
tough question because I already to help polish you are
in the media, so now you're thinking to yourself, well,
I want to give Trent a compliment, but I also
know that if I say I don't feel as comfortable
in the backup feels a certain way. But just Trent, dude,
(01:45:00):
did I not nail that? Yes, right, it's tough. I
get it. I promise you're gonna be all right. Yeah,
Trent though, Yeah, the safety, the security blanket of knowing
like ten other guys have to me, including ten guys
have to worry about it. I know I don't have
to worry about that. That's got to be a hell
of a feeling, dude.
Speaker 11 (01:45:17):
I mean, so far in my career it's been like that.
Last year he got hurt towards the end, and it's
just different. You know, obviously whoever gets thrown in I
trust and we're good, but great having Trent in as
a Hall of Famer. Dude, you watch his run game
and the stuff, the moves that he does, it's like,
what the heck, Like he's cutting off a guy. He
just like pushed it yeah real quick. Yeah. And it's
like he does like we always call it, like he
(01:45:37):
does this ninja move thing and then pushed his guys
in the ground and and then outside of that just
pass prone stuff like he's lockdown over there. And so
year after year for me, like blindside as a quarterback,
right handed quarterback, knowing that my left side do is good,
Like it's I can't even describe to you, like I
don't know. I'd like to say a sense of freedom,
but just overall what he does and obviously seeing twenty
(01:45:59):
three run behind him and I'll hand the ball off,
just look back and see him split like two guys
and just opens up everything. And I don't know, it
goes hand in hand with everything. If you can run
the ball, you get the pass game so much better.
And so the fact that he's so good and dominanting
the run game year after year because he's getting older, obviously,
and we always ask ourselves every year when he comes back,
while he's Trent gonna be the same as just still
(01:46:20):
the Trent William like dude. Year after year. It's he's
the same guy. And anyways, absolutely love him. For me
to be a quarterback in the NFL and have that
guy blocker from me, dude didn't get any better when you're.
Speaker 3 (01:46:31):
In the middle of the season and he gets an
ankle or something like that during the week on that Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday checking in that training.
Speaker 11 (01:46:38):
Room, but like, hey, so else, Yeah, I'm always checking in.
Speaker 3 (01:46:41):
I know I help you all the boys you do.
But how's Trent? Is he gonna be all right.
Speaker 11 (01:46:44):
Yeah, now he's my little safety blanket. I'm like, I
need my Beankie and I need to but no, he's
and it's funny. He'll go through an injury or whatever
and then he'll he's real with me. He's like Rocky like,
I'm good, I got you. Just wait, like Sunday comes around,
I'll be good. And he's right. He goes out there
and kills it. But the other games where he's like
Rocky like it's probably not it, and I was like,
(01:47:05):
dang it.
Speaker 3 (01:47:06):
Yeah, so you're not sleeping as good. Yeah, things aren't
going as well. Yeah, no, disrespects the backup guy. We
love the backup guy. I'll put that in for you.
Speaker 1 (01:47:12):
But yeah, Trent, you know, Brock probably drives in because
Trent drives like a different vehicle to work every day.
But you know, Brock probably drives in and he's like, hey,
I saw you. I saw you pulled up in the Bentley.
You're feeling pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:47:23):
Yeah, I kinda feel nice about that.
Speaker 1 (01:47:25):
It's the healthy car.
Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
Yeah, that's the healthy car playing that correct. And it
is October. I go off in October and you're pulling up. Yeah,
it seems like.
Speaker 1 (01:47:33):
You're in a good mood.
Speaker 11 (01:47:34):
Yeah, dude. Last year he got a driver and we're
all joking around. We're like, dude, he just like comes
right in and he's holding the baggie and all these things, like, bro, driver,
give you all those snacks and stuff, and like he
gets door dashed basically to work every day. Like we
just like joke around, Like Trent just pulls up in
a new car, new driver. Yeah, I'm like, what is
(01:47:55):
going on? That's like another world.
Speaker 3 (01:47:56):
Were you insecure about giving him a Toyota Christmas?
Speaker 1 (01:47:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (01:48:00):
I felt like. I literally went up to him and
I was like, hey, dude, like you know, Toyota's helping
us out. We got ten ten of them for all
the alignment and stuff, like just curious, like do you
still want yours or not? And he's like hell yeah.
He's like I'll paint that thing pink. And I'm like
all right, so, but then sure enough he forgets about
it somehow. Everyone gets their cars and stuff, and like Trent, like,
(01:48:21):
what did you think about yours? And he's like he's like, bro,
what did I get a truck or a car? And
I was like, bro, Trent didn't even know and then
George is like bro, Like George is trying to, you know,
bargain to get Trent's Toyota. George is like bro.
Speaker 3 (01:48:34):
He was on a couple of weeks ago talking about it.
Speaker 1 (01:48:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:48:36):
Yeah, So I still don't know if Trent's driven it
or not.
Speaker 1 (01:48:39):
So you he hasn't.
Speaker 3 (01:48:43):
Have you thought about lobbying for receivers and running backs
to give you a present for Christmas?
Speaker 11 (01:48:47):
That is a good point.
Speaker 3 (01:48:49):
I think about it. You're facilitating the ball without you,
there is no stats for them.
Speaker 7 (01:48:52):
Man.
Speaker 11 (01:48:53):
As long as I just keep catching the ball getting yack,
that's all. Yeah, that's it. That's a good point.
Speaker 1 (01:48:59):
Take us take us back to the moment to where
you're taking over the job for trade lance. Obviously there's
a lot of noise around when that situation is happening
because he gets traded to Dallas. Everybody's in. Everybody's spazzing
out because they trade away a first round pick. They're
going with you, and trust you, everybody has a lot
of question marks around that. Take us back to that
moment and what you were feeling and how you were
(01:49:21):
kind of handling all the different noise and just trying
to focus on I just need to go out there
and play my brand of football.
Speaker 11 (01:49:26):
I mean it's tough, you know, because Trey and I
are tight, dude, and like absolutely like we're boys and
we're bros. And I know you guys know that playing
you know, when you're in the locker room stuff and
you got guys that's your competition, like your boys, and
everyone wants to make it out to be a big
thing on whatever. But I wanted nothing for the best
for him, and I know he wanted that for me.
(01:49:47):
But that's just how this business goes and all that.
So when it did happen, We're about to play our
preseason game against the Chargers, and right before the game,
like they announced it and you know, didn't really know
how to act or what to think. I was just like, man,
I hope you know he can go to Dallas and
compete and have a great opportunity. You know, like when
you grow with a guy and uh, you're in meetings
(01:50:08):
in the locker room and stuff, you just you want
the best for him, and so I wanted that and
so but after that moment, it was just like all right,
Like obviously I was the guy at the end of
the year. The year before tore my u c L
came back, and uh, now I have to go prove
it again this whole season. And so that's just where
my mindset was at with that. And I knew that
I had a good team around me, and I just
got to go out there and rip it, win games,
(01:50:29):
put together a good season and we did, went to
the super Bowl and and uh that was that. But
try to keep it simple and not listen to what
you know, people say, is he good enough?
Speaker 7 (01:50:38):
Is he not?
Speaker 11 (01:50:38):
That's always going to be a thing with me in
the NFL, and I know that.
Speaker 3 (01:50:41):
So yeah, with with the u c L and then
that off season happening and then the whole trade thing
going on, like was there like a lot of noise
of like who should we start? Who should we not start?
Speaker 11 (01:50:53):
Yeah, uh, there were some things and honestly I didn't
even know like what was gonna happen. My clear date
was like right at the end of camp, right before
the season started, I had to go two practices on
one off, two on, and while all the other quarterbacks
are getting all the reps like for that practice that
I wasn't playing, So like there was just there was
a bunch of questions I think for all of us,
(01:51:14):
like will I be back, will I be healthy by
the time season kicks off? Will trade end up starting
because of my arm? Like all the things I didn't know,
And so it really wasn't up until the very last
minute where I was like, no, I'm good, I'm good
to play and was playing well in camp. So I mean,
Niners made the decision to trade them.
Speaker 1 (01:51:33):
So how hard was that recovery with the UCL Dude?
Speaker 11 (01:51:36):
It was It was a grind. I mean, you tear
it what was that late January? And then you get
back for what is that first game in August or
whatever September? And I feel like people just forgot about it,
you know, like the the fact that I literally had
a surgery on my throwing arm and then came back
and went all the way to the Super Bowl. Like
(01:51:58):
that year was a grind for me, dude, Like I
didn't stop and uh raving the season ended, the NFC Championship,
the game or the yeah the year before, Uh getting
the surgery, rehabbing every day, taking all the things, the
vitamins and supplements and just trying to help my sleep
out all the things. Dude, It's a grind and so
to be able to get back for the season and
make it at the end. I know we lost and
(01:52:19):
it sucked, but I was just like dang, like what
a part of my story and testimony like getting back
like that was? It was insane.
Speaker 1 (01:52:27):
So yeah, do you have a lot of moments where
you were kind of doubting if you would still have
the same ability?
Speaker 11 (01:52:34):
Yeah, I mean I had no idea. This is my Like,
you know, you talk about Tommy John and baseball and
stuff with pitchers, like, I know they always say, oh,
you come back stronger and stuff if it goes right,
like you just never know. But for me, I was
in you know, uncharted waters with everything when it comes
to surgery. I never had a major surgery like this,
and for it to be on my throwing arm, I
was like, dude, like, you know, I'm trying to get
(01:52:56):
back in five six months where other guys Tommy John
and stuff can take up to a year and more.
And so I'm trying to like push that timetable and
put all the pieces together. And so there's definitely moments
like days in the training room and we're doing exercises
where I was like, bro, this sucks, Like I can
barely open my palm, Like, how am I supposed to
grip a football and then throw it and do it
(01:53:17):
over and over again and win games? Like There's definitely
moments where I thought that, but you know, I was
just trying to take it one step at a time
and faithful, man, trust that guy's got a plan, and
lean into that.
Speaker 3 (01:53:27):
So how does who did your surgery?
Speaker 11 (01:53:29):
Latrosh now Keith Meister in Dallas?
Speaker 3 (01:53:31):
In Dallas?
Speaker 11 (01:53:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:53:33):
How long? What was like that process? Like, so NFC
Championship game happens, how soon are you in Dallas?
Speaker 1 (01:53:39):
Dude?
Speaker 11 (01:53:39):
I went like two weeks, I want to say later,
And he's like, nah, like your arm is still inflamed,
and he's like you have to go do rehab to
get the inflammation to go down and then come back
and do surgery.
Speaker 3 (01:53:50):
Which I'm sure was just horrible feeling because you're just
in yourself. How fast can I get back, dude.
Speaker 11 (01:53:57):
That's that's when I was like, you know, sort of panicking.
I was like, dud, we're just wasting time right now.
Like I tore it and like the next day I
was like, all right, are we flying there in two
days and having surgery this? And that, and everyone's like,
hold up, like your arm, your ligament is in pieces,
like you gotta let it calm down so that when
he cuts you open and does surgery, he knows what
he's looking at and put put it back together and
all that. So when they told me that, like, no,
(01:54:19):
you got to wait and go to rehab then come back,
I'm like, dude, there's no way I'm not gonna get
back in time and this and that.
Speaker 3 (01:54:24):
So did you have the thought of a crossing. Why
I'm just staying in Dallas so you don't have to
fly to causing more inflammation.
Speaker 4 (01:54:29):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (01:54:30):
Now, we asked that question, like you know, is the
flying in the airplane and not gonna blow it up?
And they said no, Like you can do your rehab,
get on a quick plane flight over and you'll be good.
He has done it with pictures all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:54:41):
So what's the functionality like when you when you tear it,
obviously you try to go back in the game. We'll
get We'll get to that game in a little bit.
But like between the time of after that game you
go to Dallas and then you finally get the surgery,
Like are you able like to move it? Like how
how does it feel, how's it operating? Does it feel
like kind of normal at times but then other times
you move it a different way?
Speaker 11 (01:55:00):
Yeah, I mean grabbing stuff and I could like lift
light things. I was fine with that, but the moment
it went back, like when you stretch on that ligament,
like it was just space opening up and it was
just zing my whole arm. And so it was about
a month of that, you know, and and trying to
get the inflammation to go down so that we could
have surgery.
Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
But so you're in the middle of February before you
have that surgery, correct, I know, I think March March, Yeah,
March tenth or so your mind, you're just thinking I
have wasted a month, correct.
Speaker 11 (01:55:26):
Yeah, at that point, and they were saying, like six
months is what you're gonna need, you know, to get back,
and then March tenth till whatever, like actually came back
a couple weeks early if you actually look at it.
Speaker 3 (01:55:36):
So, how did you work through the process of like
not pushing it so hard as opposed to like not
doing enough, Like where'd you finding the balance? Because you
strike me as a cat that's like you're gonna put
the work in you're not You're not the main thing.
Be the main thing consistently. Yeah, But like when when
you feel good and trainers like, hey, I'm just telling
you might feel good now, but let's take a little
bit of space here, like how receptive are you to
those that kind of communication?
Speaker 2 (01:55:56):
No doubt.
Speaker 11 (01:55:57):
I mean at the time, man, it was it was
about my career, not just just that season. Like I
wanted to make sure that my arm heeled right, that
I have, you know enough, Like it was it was
good when I came back one hundred percent to go
and compete and put good film on the tape and
not just be out there just early, just to be
out there, Like I wanted to make sure that I
was taken care of even after the season, that I
(01:56:19):
could throw, and this is how I make my living,
and so wanted to do it right. Obviously I was
going to do every little thing to speed up the
process and all that, but I trusted in the trainers
and everybody, and we had a big collaboration with everybody,
the surgeon, our trainers, everybody, and I trusted in our timetable,
our plan, and and I just went after that way.
But when it comes to like sleep nutrition, all that
(01:56:40):
stuff that sort of opened my eyes and too, like
you know what inflames the body? What doesn't the foods
and things that you put in all of it, And
so going through that sort of opened up my eyes
with that, just with my career as a whole. But
it's balancing that and not just trying to get back
so quick and holding onto it tightly. Like that's where
my faith comes in, man, like holding it loose with
you know, God, and just going hard with where he
(01:57:03):
has me, but not trying to control it on my own,
Like whatever happens is going to happen for his reason.
Speaker 3 (01:57:07):
So what from the nutrition sleep standpoint did you learn
that you didn't know then that some kids probably listening
to right now and probably going through an injury and
might not know that you could share.
Speaker 11 (01:57:18):
Dude, like staying up late, blue light on your phone,
Like how bad that is for you? And and there's
so many times like before bed, like I'd be on
my phone and I'd be like, I'm just check my
phone and then I'm on it for another thirty minutes,
forty five minutes hour.
Speaker 1 (01:57:30):
Yeah it gets you, dude.
Speaker 11 (01:57:31):
Dude, that blue light is like so bad for you
late and just your circadian rhythms and sleeping and all
that and so getting a legit eight eight hours of sleep,
trying to read beforehand, like a book or something to
sort of get your body down, and then just all
the sugars and the toxic things. Like my wife she's
like one of those crunchy girls now, like she has
(01:57:53):
all like the healthy things and healthy foods, and like
I'm talking to everything man, from flower to candy, like
cutting out seat oils, all those things as best as
you can and saying discipline and you see the results.
Speaker 3 (01:58:04):
So it's a crazy wormhole to go down.
Speaker 11 (01:58:06):
Huh Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:58:06):
When you start unlock like the level of health and okay,
this is good, then you see like, oh there's a
whole nother level here and it never really ends. Have
you ever looked at like Ben Greenfield or Andrew Huberman
or anything like that. Yeah, yes, guys are kings.
Speaker 1 (01:58:19):
Our kings.
Speaker 3 (01:58:19):
That was our thing when we met. Uh he came
over from the Redskins. Like our whole thing was accountabill
of buddy. So we do like Ben, was it Ben
Greenfield's protocole? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, which I wish.
Speaker 1 (01:58:33):
You could have had that We were ahead of our time.
Speaker 3 (01:58:36):
Ahead of our time. We just knew the game better
than the rest.
Speaker 1 (01:58:38):
Yeah, were there people you're leaning on throughout this recovery
process when times are down or low, like somebody you're
on the phone with.
Speaker 11 (01:58:46):
I mean obviously, like at the time it was my
girlfriend and fiance and now we're married, so her and
then my parents. Man, just they always believed in me,
from being a late recruit to the last draft pick, Like,
no one's been a bigger supporter in my life and
my family because they've always seen what I've done and
always wanting like the not so good and making it
(01:59:07):
something great. Like, They've always have been the ones to
give me confidence and believe. So just throughout the process
of that, my agent was awesome, talking to like pastors
and mentors and stuff, just to understand what's most important
in my life. And so that'll all that come by,
Man helped me makes me who I am.
Speaker 1 (01:59:25):
So that NFC Championship game was wild. Yeah, quarterbacks dropping,
Christian McCaffrey's out there under center. What were some of
the game plan strategies? Like after who's the backup to you?
Speaker 11 (01:59:35):
It was Josh Johnson.
Speaker 1 (01:59:37):
Josh Johnson, He goes down, like, is there any ever, Like,
are there those talks happening of you just getting under
center and taking snaps so at least there's a look
or a threat of possibly throwing the ball. Are you
just running the offense as well as you could?
Speaker 11 (01:59:49):
Yeah, I mean I literally went back in and I
was under center, handled the ball off and stuff, and
just I will never forget like handing the ball off
when it was a run to the left with my
right arm and it just opened up my ucl bro.
That sucked. And then Kyle called two screen passes and
so I threw those like grenades, and it's just all
of it. It was just tough in general. But Kyle
(02:00:10):
said the same thing, like we're gonna get you under
center and hopefully try to set up screens as best
as we could outside of that man who was praying
that a run would break and Christian can go eighty
and if that didn't work, do a reverse or have
hand the ball off to Christian and then him throw
it deep to nobody. So it was the whole situation.
Man was just tough in general. So I'm now we
(02:00:32):
got the three quarterback ruling because of that.
Speaker 1 (02:00:34):
Yeah, you guys had such a year and for then
to go down in that fashion, yeah, suck.
Speaker 3 (02:00:39):
Because that was the game. It was like, whoever wins
this game is gonna win it.
Speaker 1 (02:00:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:00:42):
Those two teams, like the rosters, were most put together.
But it's hard, man, It's not every team like the
twenty twenty four twenty twenty four Michigan Wolverines. You can't
just turn off passes. Yeah, and able to have that
level of success. But you know, we saw a house state.
We saw Alabama like it's it takes a special breed
of human. All right, that's a great point. It's a
(02:01:02):
good point. It's a great point.
Speaker 1 (02:01:04):
What was it.
Speaker 3 (02:01:04):
How how confident were you and Christian McCaffrey throwing passes
if you do?
Speaker 11 (02:01:08):
Dude? First of all, Christian is one of the best
athletes you know out there, so and I.
Speaker 1 (02:01:12):
Really throw with them too much. I was yelling at
the time.
Speaker 11 (02:01:15):
I know, I thought we were going to do more.
But yeah, the other day we're at practice and stuff
and we're throwing just me and Christian. I'm like, dude,
Like Christian's got a good form like a quarterback, and
he's got, you know, the muscle to go deep. So
I was actually curious why we didn't like to do more.
Speaker 1 (02:01:31):
So, dude, I know, and what do we do? We
got to throw the.
Speaker 3 (02:01:34):
Ball backyard football in an NFL game, being like, guys,
hope is lost. Yeah, I know, we say fight for
sixty minutes, but it's over. Yeah, Christian, get out there and.
Speaker 1 (02:01:43):
Have some fun. Yeah, go out there, Tell you.
Speaker 3 (02:01:46):
And the boys to go deep and we'll see what
we can work out around here.
Speaker 7 (02:01:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (02:01:49):
And you get Trent Williams at the end, pissed off,
just trying to fight guys at that point.
Speaker 3 (02:01:53):
Just crazy.
Speaker 1 (02:01:54):
Yeah, picks out a small guy, just body bags.
Speaker 3 (02:01:57):
And yeah, is this the same year? Is this the
same you guys played Cleveland and Cleveland was spouting off
and Trent tossed that poor young man to the side.
Speaker 11 (02:02:06):
Was the next year like pre game?
Speaker 1 (02:02:08):
Yeah, yeah, because you.
Speaker 3 (02:02:09):
Guys were like undefeated at that ye five and oh
and dropped three in a row. But that was the
start of it where Cleveland was kind of mouthing off
a little bit. I'm thinking of myself watching that pre game,
like Cleveland, what the fuck are you guys doing?
Speaker 1 (02:02:21):
It's always going you got Trend on your side.
Speaker 3 (02:02:23):
Yeah, Tred just goes over and grabs. Yeah, look at this,
who is who's doing the money?
Speaker 7 (02:02:28):
Thing? Is that the tent?
Speaker 3 (02:02:30):
Just like bro Trade is looking for that smoke clean
poor you know what, he got pushed to the ground.
He's like, Oh, parties over parties? Who started that?
Speaker 2 (02:02:42):
Who starts?
Speaker 11 (02:02:43):
Remember? I know Devo and b I love getting pretty
psyched up before games and talking.
Speaker 3 (02:02:49):
So, yeah, where are you during the scrum? You in
the middle?
Speaker 1 (02:02:52):
Uh, I wish he's in the prayer in the shower.
Speaker 11 (02:02:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:02:58):
What was it like losing a losing Debo this offseason?
Speaker 11 (02:03:02):
I mean it sucks, dude. He's my boy. You know,
I love Debo day one. He's always had my back
and believed in me. When I got in, I didn't
really know you know how the guys were gonna take it.
When I did get thrown in, Jimmy went down, I
was like the last quarterback in Uh. Debo. Man was
nothing but just great to me, dude, building me up
and just give me confidence. Man in games. You know,
(02:03:25):
we fed off each other's energy and building each other
up like it was awesome and over the last couple
of years, same thing. So when you loose, I mean
we created just a great relationship. He's my brother. But
you know, again, that's just how this business goes. And
I hope he goes to Washington and kills it and
it does great. I mean, anytime you get Deebo the
ball man, you never know what can happen. So, yeah,
(02:03:45):
he's an explosive player, exciting to watch. He's got a
lot of great ball in front of him too.
Speaker 3 (02:03:49):
So we had a we had Georgia on a couple
of weeks ago, and we brought up a clip that's
resurface during or not resource but surface during OTAs of
depot and he's catching some slack for being a little
heavy and not running very fast. You see that. Yeah,
what do you have to say about that? What's your thought?
Speaker 11 (02:04:04):
What put me on the spot?
Speaker 3 (02:04:06):
No, dude, because Georgia's answer was.
Speaker 1 (02:04:10):
Like, these are routes. He's like routes on airs.
Speaker 11 (02:04:14):
I'm saying that was probably walk through and stuff. Yeah,
people don't they see things online because the media can
come out and videotape anything and you could be in
a walk through going half speed and all that and
they blow it out of proportion. So I know, when
the season comes rolling around to and uh, you know,
Divo is gonna have a chip on the shoulder this
year for sure, and he's gonna be just fine. So
I don't buy in any of that stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:04:35):
When the media does come out and says negative things
that they probably have no idea what they're talking about.
How does the team the locker room, do you guys
rally around that you kind of just ignore the noise.
Speaker 11 (02:04:44):
No, I mean, I don't really think anyone, you know,
buys into that kind of stuff. It's being said, and
guys might hear it and whatnot, But like I said
before that at the end of the day, the only
thing that matters is the next play. The guys around you.
Are you guys in it together? Are you not? Like
it's all that matters if you're buying into what people
say on the outside of man, you know, it's just
it's honestly just wasted time, wasted thinking. So I know,
(02:05:04):
you guys know that I'm playing like, Yeah, things are
always going to be said, That's that's just the job.
Speaker 1 (02:05:09):
Yeah, you always are going to hear some just naysayers
and haters, just yeah, spewing nonsense. Yeah, you've dealt with
a lot of with a lot of that. A lot
of noise in your career. There's one statement that I
have pulled up that was said about you. I have
the quote is I have from the quote says I
(02:05:35):
have from a reliable source told me back in January
that brock Purty's not the guy. He's not the guy.
He's not as good as people think he is. I
was just told that he has aliens around him and
that's why he looks so good. But once there's enough
film out there on him, people are going to know
how to beat him. That's what I've been told, and
that's what has happened over the last three weeks. Sheesh,
(02:05:56):
that was a quote about brock Purty. I'm assuming after
the three game losing streak when you guys started off
five and oh and then roll in the Cleveland and
somebody had some choice words. Yeah, I think it was you.
You said that we know how that feels as players.
I actually think it was from an next player. Really
be sitting to my left, shut up, you said that, brool.
Speaker 3 (02:06:24):
Can I just get five? I get thirty?
Speaker 2 (02:06:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:06:27):
That's a strong like just trying to remember it back.
Speaker 3 (02:06:30):
That's like when Bill Burro Lily has a bit about
this about just reading a thing like your honor. She said, no, stop,
you're so bad. You're like, Oh, she didn't say it
like that, Yeah, like that didn't. I didn't say it
like that. Those are the exact words that came out
of my mouth going viral. Yeah, George, George had words
for me. Christian had words for me, and yeah, somebody
(02:06:53):
told me that's in the NFL. That told me that,
and being my first year not in the NFL, I
took those words and I brought them to the k
Adams Show and then you guys went to the super
Bowl that year. Yeah, And I don't know if you remember,
but after that, I publicly apologized.
Speaker 11 (02:07:06):
To him, saying that, yeah, dude, no, honestly I don't.
That's why I was just in shock when I heard it.
Speaker 3 (02:07:11):
God, because we were this is really nice. It's been
good for both of us, right.
Speaker 11 (02:07:13):
Yeah, I mean this is we should probably cut this episode.
I'm out, I'm playing.
Speaker 3 (02:07:20):
Yeah, he was in Las Vegas. I walked, I came
up to your booth and I publicly apologized and you're like, oh, man,
all good, don't worry about it.
Speaker 11 (02:07:27):
Shoot maybe yeah, So I thought.
Speaker 3 (02:07:29):
We were square, but we're not that's kind of nasty.
Speaker 11 (02:07:34):
When you said that, I was thinking of like a
early two thousands like receiver or somebody that's always on
networks and stuff him.
Speaker 1 (02:07:42):
Oh you were actually surprised.
Speaker 11 (02:07:45):
Yes, here you're drinking his water.
Speaker 3 (02:07:47):
He's on and I was thirsty, crazy, thirsty for justice,
and I'm glad we're getting it. We're pulling this up.
Speaker 1 (02:07:54):
Isn't that nuts?
Speaker 3 (02:07:56):
This is my pitch, wants to bring this.
Speaker 11 (02:07:58):
Up, so I should listen to this kind of criticism,
this kind of this kind of athlete, Yeah, he said,
this kind of athlete.
Speaker 3 (02:08:06):
He doesn't know my stats.
Speaker 1 (02:08:09):
We were arguing earlier on the episode of The Droves
Tomorrow that I was like, Hey, I don't know if
you can claim elite athlete, like you were elite at
blocking people and being a football player, But I don't
know if you can claim elite status athlete status with
a throw like that publicly.
Speaker 11 (02:08:23):
I agree with that.
Speaker 3 (02:08:25):
I can until I've become the villain in your mind.
That chip you always talk about how always better myself,
Like I'm gonna there's gonna be a photo of me
in your locker.
Speaker 1 (02:08:32):
This guy Brock just thinking like he's a friend of
the show. And he knows this brand is a brand
about being for the boys. Yeah, and here's that quote.
He's like, that's not that's nasty taking shots when they're
out on three game losing street.
Speaker 3 (02:08:45):
Can I say when I heard your rec not.
Speaker 1 (02:08:47):
Saying at five and oh, three game losing street.
Speaker 3 (02:08:50):
Can I by your reaction of not knowing that was me?
It's gotten ten degrees hotter? And yeah, I'm sweating a
little bit because I'm wrong. Right, I'm a wrong nasty
boy for saying that.
Speaker 11 (02:09:01):
Dude, Oh really this throw to bro Okay, first of all,
I like twenty minutes, I tried ripping it.
Speaker 1 (02:09:13):
Oh, it wasn't as bad and it hit. Well, that's
not that's not as terrible.
Speaker 3 (02:09:16):
Okay, let's play this game. What position do you play?
Speaker 11 (02:09:19):
Quarterback?
Speaker 3 (02:09:20):
How much did you just get paid? Contract? You know,
and I know you know you don't play the social
media game, but you probably saw Joe Burrow fanatics fest.
Speaker 11 (02:09:33):
Yeah I saw that. Yeah, so okay, yeah, thank you.
Are you trying to help me?
Speaker 3 (02:09:37):
I'm trying to help us out.
Speaker 7 (02:09:38):
We're on the same team.
Speaker 3 (02:09:38):
We both had bad pitches. Yours a little bit better
than mine, no doubt, but different positions. Like, did you
consider yourself an athlete?
Speaker 7 (02:09:45):
Me?
Speaker 3 (02:09:46):
Yeah, yes, elite.
Speaker 11 (02:09:51):
For in real like athletic to dunk and sprint and
all the like. Honestly, no, I'm not. I'll be real
about it. But like throwing in like the hand eye
coordination things, yeah, I would say pretty elite. Four eight
what four eight one?
Speaker 1 (02:10:09):
I got millions?
Speaker 3 (02:10:11):
You get four to seven.
Speaker 11 (02:10:13):
Mm hmm yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:10:18):
Before the before the San Francisco fans, I was three
o nine. I get it, three nine. But let's just
make bike guns bike.
Speaker 11 (02:10:24):
I'm sorry, it's all good?
Speaker 7 (02:10:26):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (02:10:26):
Actually?
Speaker 3 (02:10:27):
Because you strike me as a guy that says it's
all good. But then you walk away and you get
in the car with your agent, You're like, I can't
believe you made me go on that show.
Speaker 1 (02:10:33):
Yeah, definitely looking at that like I can't believe that
was him.
Speaker 3 (02:10:36):
That's right, he would say that.
Speaker 7 (02:10:38):
But just no me, We're no.
Speaker 11 (02:10:42):
I agree with what you said, dude. Like the show
is called busting with the Boys. Were supposed to be boys. Bro,
that actually hurt, but we're boys, Like, hey, that's what
we do. We forgive, we move on and we got
each other's back.
Speaker 3 (02:10:53):
But you're not really forgiving. You're saying the words. But
I feel like you could see it in your eye.
Speaker 11 (02:10:59):
Dude, it's all right.
Speaker 3 (02:11:00):
If you get turn the lights off in here right
now and hit me, you would No, I.
Speaker 11 (02:11:05):
Would turn the cheek for a little bit with the
lights off. Yeah, I think.
Speaker 1 (02:11:12):
I think what's painful, as you know, he's being genuine
about it, probably just makes it hurt that much worse.
Speaker 3 (02:11:16):
Yes, yes, and I'm sitting in this pool of insecurity
right now. But yeah, I thought that was supposed to
be a fun joke where I thought he would click
in his head. Oh Taylor said that, But really the
fact that he was blindsided about it.
Speaker 1 (02:11:29):
Yeah, yeah, I kind of want to stoke the fire more.
But again, I was just saying I thought he was
more like he kind of knew, he already knew, like
coming on, he kind ofnew.
Speaker 5 (02:11:37):
When I pulled them.
Speaker 1 (02:11:38):
Like, okay, just playing into the joke. Knowing that he's blindside,
I'm like, oh damn, yeah, him understanding this for the
first time. It's almost like he's on state. He's on
step one right now. So this is something that's in
the past for us, right but not for him.
Speaker 3 (02:11:51):
This is no, this is brand new, a fresh wound. Yeah,
we need to nurture that.
Speaker 1 (02:11:56):
He wouldn't to take him to the super Bowl and
then get his quarter of a billion our contract it's
quarter plus.
Speaker 3 (02:12:02):
Don't disrespect that fifteen mil.
Speaker 1 (02:12:05):
Yeah, it's all good.
Speaker 11 (02:12:07):
That's all good. When you read that there, we're going
to be like, so you hear a quote like this,
you know, how do you? But then you just straight
up pointed to him and he's over there gulping down
the water. I was like, what, I should have gaged it,
but seriously, he probably.
Speaker 3 (02:12:20):
Should have set it up better. No, no, it's tough.
Speaker 11 (02:12:25):
It's all good.
Speaker 3 (02:12:25):
But hey, so what I when so Monday media days
at the Super Bowl when I say, hey, I just
wanted to APOLOGYE I think I remember that now. Yeah,
but I'm sure you're in a blender. There's a whole
bunch of.
Speaker 2 (02:12:39):
Right.
Speaker 3 (02:12:40):
Yeah, I guess I remember that because I have I
apologize and you're like, oh, bro, it's all good, don't
worry about it. I'm thinking we are square.
Speaker 1 (02:12:45):
Yeah, because George Christian put the heat on them.
Speaker 3 (02:12:48):
Yeah, big time, dude.
Speaker 11 (02:12:50):
Okay, that makes sense. I think I remember, but not
so I'm sorry that it's all good.
Speaker 1 (02:13:01):
He really took the high road.
Speaker 3 (02:13:02):
He's your agent in trouble for making come on the show,
have a conversation.
Speaker 11 (02:13:09):
That's all good.
Speaker 3 (02:13:11):
What was that Super Bowl like? That Super Bowl Week?
Speaker 11 (02:13:14):
I mean exactly that, dude. I don't remember a whole
lot that week. Just there was so much media and
meetings and you're trying to win the biggest game of
your life and you're getting asked all these questions about you,
your life and everything, and it was just a blur.
But when I got to the game, everything felt calm
and pretty like all right, I was there, I was present.
It was actually one of the more quiet games I've
(02:13:36):
played in my life too, Like there's not like you're
not like at a home site or anything, so just
the in between stuff. It just felt sort of quiet.
But like, dang, dude, I'm in the super Bowl. It's
just crazy. So I don't know, it was a blur.
Got to the game, enjoyed it. I wish we would
have won, but obviously, like I'll never forget coming that
close and then not finishing. So that's just the taste
(02:13:57):
I got in my mouth now and a lot of
us do still.
Speaker 1 (02:14:00):
So yeah, we interrupt this episode because we are brought
to you by Neutral Vodka Seltzer. Have you tried Neutral?
If not, you are missing out. Neutral is so much
better than any other seltzer that I've tried. It's made
with real vodka and real juice, and that's what makes
it delicious. Neutral comes in a variety of flavors. One
of my all time favorites black cherry. They also have
(02:14:20):
new flavors lime and strawberry. Neutral is the perfect drink
to bring when hanging with friends because it is such
a crowd pleaser, whether you're watching at the bar, watching
a game at the bar, in the backyard with friends,
or at a tailgate. Bring Neutral again. Let me just
rip off these flavors black cherry, pineapple, orange, watermelon, lime,
and strawberry. Neutral keep a tasty Back to the episode.
(02:14:45):
You guys having a lot of success like earlier in
your career. In this last year, you guys hit a
lot of bumps in the road. What was this past
year's experience like compared to obviously you're used to kind
of winning with San Francisco.
Speaker 11 (02:14:55):
Yeah, I mean first two years, that's all I knew,
even before I got in. You know, we were four
and four at one point and so I was like,
all right, who are we And then we got on
a roll, and towards the end of my rookie year
when we want all those games going into the playoffs,
I was like, bro, this is what San Francisco football
is all about, like winning and finding a way no
matter what we can be at any moment in the game,
(02:15:15):
we're gonna find a way. And same thing sophomore or
the second year in the league get to the super Bowl.
Like that's just what we knew. And then last year
it's like we sort of gave up some of these
games and finished and then our record started going down
and it's like, oh shoot, and then we get to
the end and it's too late to try to get
back in for the playoff run. So that's when I
was like, all right, this is different, you know, knowing
(02:15:36):
that we got to get ready for like two or
three more games at the end of the season when
and we know we're not getting in the playoffs. Like, dude,
this is different. The vibe in the locker room, guys
showing up to work wanting to win and ice is different.
And so it was. For as crazy as it sounds,
I'm trying to take it and learn from it and
make it a good thing. You know, obviously to stay
away from that kind of feeling and all that. But
(02:15:58):
it was definitely like a little wake up call because
teams go through that every year and I never have
up until last year. And guys that told me, teammates
have told me, like, bro, trust me. The worst is like,
you know, you get halfway through the season, you know
you're not making it, like try showing up then for
meetings and and holding guys accountable, and like that's a
dark place to be, you know.
Speaker 3 (02:16:17):
So I start talking about Cabo and all.
Speaker 11 (02:16:19):
These things, all the trips, thinking about their contracts, Are
you gonna be here next year? Like all that stuff.
You know, where years past it was now like we're
trying to make it to the super Bowl. We're right there,
we go to the super Bowl, everyone's all into the
last game. It's just it's different. I never experienced something
like that.
Speaker 1 (02:16:35):
So what's the expectation going into this year?
Speaker 11 (02:16:38):
I mean, got a bunch of young guys free agency.
We lost some dudes green Law, Hufunga, just like guys
that have been staples for our organization and stuff over
the last couple of years. So when you lose guys
like that, it's like, all right, who's gonna fill their spot?
What's that look like? And we're gonna have a young team.
You know, we we got some young guys that need
to step up and learn fast. You know, we still
(02:16:59):
got our core guys though, Bosa, McCaffrey, Juice, George Fred,
So like, we still got the guys to go and
do it. It's just gonna look a little bit different,
for sure.
Speaker 1 (02:17:09):
You guys got a squads.
Speaker 3 (02:17:10):
You guys have good luck, good luck. We've had a
bunch of guys on Fred. You weren't able to be.
Speaker 1 (02:17:15):
A part of that Fred episode.
Speaker 3 (02:17:16):
But he was just a homie. He was just great
to be around. I had something and then I forgot it.
I'm probably still in a blender about Brock hating me internally.
You got it, man, Oh Greenlaw, green Law towards Achilles
(02:17:37):
in the Super Bowl, correct, and then he tried to
come back. We had the same conversation with George, but
I want to get your perspective on it. So the
backup was playing, and then Greenlaw started to slowly integrate
back in, and then the backup. I don't know why
I'm forgetting his name right now, camb Campbell. He ends
up essentially quitting on the team, and it's cut the
next day from your perspective, like, what are you seeing?
How is leadership handling that band? Closed doors?
Speaker 11 (02:18:00):
Yeah, I mean it was tough, just because we sort
of knew, like the day or two before, like he
was starting to show some signs of like you know,
being upset about Greenlow coming back and whatnot, which I
mean that's football, like guys get upset and whatnot. But
so then going out in the field and him just
refusing to go in the game, that's that's when it
(02:18:22):
blew our mind. Even myself as a quarterback, I felt
it on the sideline sometimes when things happen on defense
or special teams, like we're so locked into our game
plan on offense that it's tough to know what's going
on with the team and stuff until you get in
the locker room and then all of a sudden, like
we're on the sideline here and like dude, de and
Andres refusing to go in, and we're all like, oh
my gosh, like this is the NFL. I've never even
(02:18:43):
heard it, Like my whole life in football there hasn't
been a teammate that's refused to play. Yeah, right, this
is crazy, and so I didn't even know that you
could do that, like what And so I don't know leadership,
our whole team we were hurt, you know, like we
there's so much pride, man, when you're a Niner or
any team, like you take pride in the boy like
going to war with your boys and winning games and
(02:19:04):
going through stuff. And then because one little thing doesn't
go your way and a guy who's very well respected
came back came into the picture, and then you refuse
to go in for the boys. It's like, you know,
come on, are you really one of us? Kind of things. So, uh,
it's tough. I don't want to just hate on him
and stuff for anything, but it's just it's a sucky
situation overall. But I thought the way our organization, our team,
(02:19:28):
everybody handled it was was right.
Speaker 1 (02:19:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:19:31):
I'm sure there was a media friends and a bunch
of people trying to get some clickbit on all.
Speaker 11 (02:19:34):
For sure.
Speaker 3 (02:19:35):
Did my rookie year, I think like the last couple
of games it was a two and fourteen season, we
sucked and we had a won't say his name, But
we had a guy who was an offense lineman that
dressed for the game and I was hurt at a
high ankle spraint after playing Philly, and so I'm watching
him walk on the field and he takes two steps
in the field and I feels like the grass shakes
his head. No one walks back in the locker room. Yeah,
(02:19:57):
this is like after the ninety minutes ninety everything, And
so we had a backup left tackle and then we
had another backup offensive lineman as well after that, and
it was it was a JJ Watt feast fest. He
went nuts. There was like a viral clip of him
being like, I don't know who's on the left out.
I'm here all day.
Speaker 1 (02:20:13):
I'm here all day.
Speaker 3 (02:20:13):
He had like four and a half sacks and.
Speaker 7 (02:20:16):
Tough, scary.
Speaker 3 (02:20:17):
It's just tough when you come from like college. I
don't know how the anio world is now, but like
you're in college, like everyone will die for the team,
like you guys are all for like a family. And
then you go your first league, in the first year
in the league, and you're seeing guys that make these
business decisions that you're like, I can't believe you're allowing
this to affect you. And then you get older and
you start to learn more about the game and stuff
like that and why you guys choose to do certain things.
(02:20:38):
But it is crazy just seeing somebody.
Speaker 1 (02:20:40):
Just quit on the team. Yeah, when I was I
was taking over a spot. It's when I was first
taken over the starting job, and it was mid season.
It was more of like this game. It was more
of like packages, so like third down, you know, just
different packages that I would come in on and when
the starter was catching down, yeah, third down two minutes.
Oh yeah, come on, this is back of my young prime.
(02:21:02):
But when we were at practice and I was getting
implemented in with the starters, the guy who was the
starter ended up just not going into practice and was
basically just protesting in the back. I'm not going in.
Oh you want to fucking put him in? Put him in.
Then we were in the locker room after practice and
this starter, this linebacker was threatening to fight our position coach,
like they were in each other's face. It was one
(02:21:22):
of the more awkward things just to be a part of.
Speaker 3 (02:21:25):
And where are you doing this?
Speaker 1 (02:21:28):
I standing there watching feeling awkward.
Speaker 3 (02:21:30):
Feeling you should probably say something because you're the together
talking about.
Speaker 1 (02:21:32):
Oh yeah, I mean everybody knew it was me, I know,
but you're.
Speaker 3 (02:21:35):
Sitting there and he's like trying to fight the position coach,
when really he wants to fight your ass.
Speaker 1 (02:21:38):
No, he ain't want to fight me. He's you know
how it's like, no, no, it's not that because we
were boys, But it's more of like you know, when
you're in the business and coaches can be a little
vague or they you know, some guys, if they know
they're going to get benched or they're going to something,
a situation is unfolding, they like to know what to
expect when coming in the room. So when he's kind
of caught off guard by it, it rubbed him the
wrong way. So he has more of a problem with
(02:21:59):
not being told or understand what the expectations. I'm sure
he was bitter and upset about it, But you know
how it's like sometimes like coaches aren't the most upfront
with where your position being transparent yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:22:10):
About stuff because they don't know how to tell you
and they don't know if it's for sure yet by
the time it's for sure, you're it's Thursday, yeah, and
the games on Sunday. Yeah, and it's like it's a
lot of time to get mad. Have you ever had
a conversation with Trey about like after everything unfolded, because
you talked about like you guys are in competition with
each other. He handled it with grace, which every pro should,
right will you lose a competition or whatever. It's just
(02:22:32):
that's just part of the game. But did you ever
talk to him but like emotionally how he was doing ever?
Speaker 11 (02:22:37):
I mean not so much that it was just we've
just texted each other, you know, and like head, dude,
I hope you're doing good, like randomly, you know, throughout
the season, offseason or whatever, and I hope you're doing
good this and that. So it's really just been that
we haven't really gotten into the details of hey, how
do you feel with this happening or whatever, you know,
so we just stay away from that.
Speaker 1 (02:22:55):
So yeah, well I think we have time for like
one more question. We have our our bud light question.
Speaker 11 (02:23:00):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (02:23:00):
You know how people would do anything for a nice school,
but light, what is something that you would do anything for?
Speaker 11 (02:23:07):
I can't say family, what's something that I would do
anything for? What if guys said on this.
Speaker 10 (02:23:14):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:23:15):
Steve Vanilla said he wanted to make a documentary. Would
not tell us the subject of the documentary on camera,
but he said regardless, some day in his life, he
wants to make that documentary. George said, super.
Speaker 1 (02:23:24):
Bowl Travis said super Bowl Travis, which.
Speaker 3 (02:23:27):
Is a little selfish.
Speaker 1 (02:23:28):
Yeah, but you've had three, Like, yeah, he wants more money.
Dale Junior said nothing.
Speaker 3 (02:23:39):
Jale said, I got it all.
Speaker 1 (02:23:42):
That's crazy too, though he did it in such an
elegant way.
Speaker 3 (02:23:46):
Have you seen the documentary but his dad, I haven't
watched it yet, but I've seen a couple of trailers.
It looks insane. Really, it's that good tear jerker. Oh shit,
I'm always looking for a good.
Speaker 2 (02:23:59):
Credon, not necessarily a tear jerker, but it is like
you kind of hearing what Dale Junior went through with,
like of how Dale Senior kind of treated the kids.
It's like that is kind of like you kind of
feel bad for Dale, but it's like just the Earnhardt
families just so awesome.
Speaker 3 (02:24:15):
So bad. Yeah fuck yeah, So what do you think
for gosh?
Speaker 11 (02:24:22):
I mean, I know my niners will be listening. So
I got to go to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (02:24:26):
I'm glad you said that. Let's have a little lets
play a little game.
Speaker 11 (02:24:28):
All right?
Speaker 3 (02:24:30):
How willing? How far are you willing to go for
a super Bowl? And wait? So George at different a
lot of different angles, but we'll start with prison. If
someone said you have a genie popped out of a bottle,
I popped out of a bud light, Caim and it
was a bud light Jeanie. And he said, I'll get
you a super Bowl this year, but you have to
(02:24:51):
go to prison for a whole year after that. Do
you still take the super Bowl?
Speaker 1 (02:24:59):
What's a layer?
Speaker 3 (02:25:00):
So you go to prison for a year? Would you
cut off your foot?
Speaker 11 (02:25:05):
Cut off my foot after Yeah? No, I'm gonna be sure.
Speaker 1 (02:25:07):
Would you endure? Would you end your career if you
ended on a super Bowl this year?
Speaker 3 (02:25:11):
Keep in mind the guarantee you have contract, Let's stay
super Bowl dude.
Speaker 1 (02:25:17):
If you're saying twenty ten me, wow, what do you
say about the career thing? Would you end your career? Dude?
Speaker 11 (02:25:26):
I don't want to end my career because we can
go win more, you know, like, why would I end
the career just for one more and when we can
win multiple.
Speaker 1 (02:25:33):
But you're guaranteed to win this year, you being the
Super Bowl MVP All Pro, but your career is done
after that, or you can try to chase the super
Bowl for the rest of your career.
Speaker 11 (02:25:48):
Don't try to chase like.
Speaker 1 (02:25:49):
Well, that's what you're that's what you'll be doing. You
can't sit here and guarantee you're gonna have a Super Bowl?
Speaker 11 (02:25:53):
What another guy say? I Actually I'm curious.
Speaker 3 (02:25:56):
This podcast really gained its footing when Mike Vrabel said
he cut his piece off super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (02:26:00):
He's serious cut it off, hey.
Speaker 3 (02:26:02):
Coach New England Patriots. Yeah, Mike been married thirteen years.
Speaker 11 (02:26:06):
I'd say yeah, but he's also like he's not playing.
I feel like it's a player. I feel like I
can make anything.
Speaker 3 (02:26:11):
You mention that he won one as a player, he
wouldn't he he won with the Patriots.
Speaker 11 (02:26:16):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:26:18):
If you ever meet Mike Rabel, you'll know how many
years you played.
Speaker 11 (02:26:20):
In the league. Yeah. Now, I would go to prison
for a year, preferably not under the situation of whatever,
but I would go to prison for a year. Yes,
I don't want to cut off any limbs because after
that year, I'd like to get back and hopefully go chase.
Speaker 1 (02:26:39):
More finger, left finger? How about this?
Speaker 11 (02:26:41):
I can go left left hand for sure throughout your
hand in your career, left finger one of these in
your career.
Speaker 1 (02:26:47):
You can win one super Bowl with the forty nine ers,
or you can win three with the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (02:26:56):
Bro, that is the best trap question.
Speaker 11 (02:27:00):
That is the word, dude. That is no Niners?
Speaker 7 (02:27:04):
Bro?
Speaker 1 (02:27:04):
Yeah, you want to win once, your boy, you want
to be remembered for one, really did shut out?
Speaker 7 (02:27:08):
Don't try to get me dud.
Speaker 11 (02:27:09):
No, we're not doing that. Bang bang all the way, dude,
bang bang all the way.
Speaker 1 (02:27:14):
What does a solid little change of pace?
Speaker 3 (02:27:16):
That was a nice change of pace because honestly, you're
being really want with three right? He would for sure,
but also respect he's polished.
Speaker 1 (02:27:24):
You know what. He might be on something though, because
I'd rather win one Natty with Nebraska than three with
the Iowahawk guys.
Speaker 11 (02:27:31):
Two Yeah, come on yeah crazy are we boys? Or
you're just trying to trap me?
Speaker 1 (02:27:37):
Bro? That's him. I like that fun, have good clean
fun on this podcast. I love it.
Speaker 11 (02:27:42):
I respect it.
Speaker 3 (02:27:44):
I stumbled before you know whin Let's just say right now,
the forty nine ers no longer exists a franchise. What's
one team you want to play for? Forty Niners don't exist?
Speaker 1 (02:27:58):
Yeah, who's your favorite squad growing up?
Speaker 11 (02:28:00):
Dolphins growing up? But I'm not saying that's such an
Arizona you're saying. No, I'm not saying, Oh, now my
dad grew up a Dolphins fan, Damn Marino. Uh, obviously
you guys heard the story. We're thirteen because of that. So,
but that was my team growing up.
Speaker 3 (02:28:16):
Actually, so then I did say this already, But that's
an Arizona answer for sure. Yeah, because most guys who
grew up in a state would pick their state, but Arizona,
that's just fair weather as it gets when it.
Speaker 11 (02:28:27):
Comes to I know that is true, isn't it weird?
I feel like they choose everybody?
Speaker 3 (02:28:31):
But there everyone everyone's outside doing.
Speaker 11 (02:28:33):
Except for like the eight Kurt Warner or when they
turn them to the super Bowl. Yeah, everyone is Cardinals fans.
Speaker 1 (02:28:38):
Everybody, everybody was Cardinals fans. But he was back in
groceries in high school. Last question, you have a hard
out favorite nickname that fans have given you?
Speaker 11 (02:28:47):
Favorite nickname?
Speaker 1 (02:28:50):
Big DP dude?
Speaker 11 (02:28:53):
You asking these questions, bro.
Speaker 3 (02:28:57):
But he didn't like it. You don't have a little fun.
Speaker 1 (02:28:59):
I'm more of like living through you. When I see
all this stuff, I'm like, God, i'd be pretty sick
to see that.
Speaker 11 (02:29:03):
Yeah, dude, I don't know. There's been so many nicknames.
There's funny ones. Am I even allowed to say glock?
But that's what Trent calls me, glock party.
Speaker 7 (02:29:14):
That's a nice one.
Speaker 3 (02:29:14):
Yes, you're allowed to say the word block.
Speaker 1 (02:29:17):
They ever call you? Brock furda?
Speaker 11 (02:29:19):
What's furda? Fertile boys?
Speaker 3 (02:29:23):
What an edging of this? PLoP prop? I appreciate you
coming on.
Speaker 11 (02:29:25):
I was appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (02:29:29):
Sure, I'm just kept typing that in. I'm not like,
what does he want so? Because I thought it was
FURTI boy? Yeah.
