Recorded: May 12th, 2025

In this can't-miss episode of Bussin’ With The Boys, NFL legend Clay Matthews hops on the bus with Will Compton and Taylor Lewan. Clay recounts his viral 2025 NFL Draft prank, where he took the stage in Green Bay and delivered a playful jab at the Chicago Bears, setting social media ablaze and cementing his reputation as a master troll.

The boys dive into his memorable on-field moments, including the time former Panthers QB Cam Newton famously called out Clay mid-game for being too obvious with his film study, and how that exchange became instant NFL lore. Clay also shares his perspective on Shedeur Sanders’s surprising slide in the draft, offering insight into the pressures and unpredictability of draft night. The boys break down rookie camp film of Cam Ward and his public appearance with the Savannah Bananas.

Rounding out the episode, the crew debates their divisional winners for the upcoming NFL season and gets real about the toll football takes on the body, with Clay opening up about his ongoing battle with a bad back.

Great read, thank you, Great trophy in front of your face.
Larry O'Brien trophy is here. So how did this happen?
Who reached out to who? Larry reach out to us? Larry,
Larry himself sure.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
To reach out to us on one of my gmails,
and then we made it happen. We hopped on a
zoom call with the squad. And I love the NBA.
When I was a kid, I loved the NBA more
than any other sport. So to see it here dream
come true.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
God, it's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Got to replicate all the photos of the trophy.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Have to don't have a choice one way or the other.
That thing, by the way, sneaky heavy, sneaky heavy thing
right there, thirty pounds. The weight distribution is a little
bit crazy. I'm very surprised Kevin Durant was able to
lift that thing up after only doing one eighty five
zero times.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
All the championship winners that have touched this trophy, it is.
We're sitting with history right now, right and by the way,
you know who else is a champion? Who's champion Clay Matthews.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Guess Matthews, Yes, sir, yes, sir, Thank you.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
The great setup and there's something else is set up
to massive news in the bust one with the Boys
universe this fall the locker room, myself will Compton Delaney
Walker and our fourth chair, consistent fourth chair will be
none other than super Bowl champion with beautiful hair Clay
Matthews as well and week out dude, fired up, fired Up.

(03:00):
It turns into I meet you at a charity event.
We talk. I have sparkles in my eyes talking to
v Clay Matthews, the guy who gave you my Welcome
to the NFL moment to get to you on the bus.
You're so scared to come on the bus. You have
to bring your brother one time.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Then all of a.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Sudden you get on. You come in the locker room.
You loved it, You're about it, like I want. I know,
we're just hanging out. This is just the boys hanging
out today, but I do want to talk about like
the process of having you come and like be a
part of the locker room.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
With us, because it is awesome Yeah. Well, I mean,
like I told you coming on the first time, I've
always been real reserved with the media. I just I
like to separate my public in private life. That's why
I don't really speak about you know, my wife and
kids and and kind of our day to day operations,
which is the exact opposite of you guys. You got
will farting in the mic. You know, you just doing

(03:44):
your things. So but yeah, I man, what was great
about the podcasting world and just being a part of
this is it there It's a comfortable environment where you
kind of just speak your mind. There's no producer in
your ear talking about best dressed or you know, other
hot button topics.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Hey, thirty seconds, they're coming to you next you have
a talk.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
Yeah. So and then I had I had a great
time doing the locker room. It just I mean, you
presented the offer to me, and I jumped on it.
So I'm excited. I'm looking forward to it. I think
it'll be a good uh good mix of the boys.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Was it the little the little popper that brought you back?

Speaker 5 (04:18):
No, that made me want to demand uh, you know, compensation,
guaranteed compensation. Yeah, yeah, but uh that's tonight yeah, we.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Need some injury guarantees in this deal.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Yeah, no doubt. But it was awesome. Like having you
on the first time and knowing you don't do a
whole lot of media, it was just cool to kind
of dive into that the USC world, the packers, all
that stuff, and then to see your curiosity and then
the locker room and then seeing how much like how
prepared you are as a human. Like when we're hey,
you should come in the locker room, we talk about bets.
She's like, okay, what do we do? It's like, really,
we just watched the games and we talked about who

(04:51):
we think is gonna win next based on the odds
for the next weekend. You came on did and you
you just flood with the boys like it was nothing good.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
It was.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
It was great.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
You know who helps give give picks other than football?
Who Clay does for the NBA?

Speaker 5 (05:04):
Well, my okay, so I mentioned this when we were
on the locker my brother. No, I'm not, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Yeah, we can't talk about your brother. We have a guy.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
Oh all right, we'll just say we have a guy.
We have a guy who gives me picks right between
the lines here and he's a stud when it comes
to the NBA. He stayed with us for Thanksgiving one time,
him and his family. They're up there in Cleveland. But man,
the amount of research, it's not just a gut feeling,
the amount of research that goes into it. Minutes played
against zone defense, first man, when going up against the
seven foot defender, whatever it is in the NBA. And

(05:34):
so he has some some parlays that hit. Now we
we we've been unlucky lately, been unlucky. And then yeah,
it's been tough lately. That's why the NBA is so
difficult to predict. But but yeah, he's been helped me
out with some bets. And then I gave I should
have helped you with your UFC you know bets that
you put out this weekend because I'm a big UFC fan.

(05:55):
But man, that was That was a tough night for
tough card. Tough card took a few losses, but we're
gonna bounce back.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Parlay lost right away.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Yeah, the UFC, the UFC card and a i'll say names,
Zaid Zai gave me that parlay. I reached out to day.
Zaid is this cat from Chicago who's always in Vegas.
When I'm in Vegas, he's like, Taylor, I got all
the picks. I know, I know everything. And then every
time I don't bet with him, and he's like, you
should hit. I was seven for seven, blah blah blah.
If he parlayed that, you bet ten one hundred dollars,
there's a million dollars, all these different things. Then every

(06:24):
time I do bet with him, it never works out.
So Zay and I gotta do some sage or something
like that. It's it's just not good.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
I would like you to come to me though moving forward,
not to say that was gonna be right, but I'd
like to give my impact. Yes, I'd like to give
my input.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
So from here on out UFC series, every Ufcrian dual
parlay that we put together, Clay Matthews will have his
hand on me. Also, this interview is brought to us
by bud Light, but Light is always brewed for with
four simple ingredients for a clean Chris taste. Bud Light
is the official beer sponsor of the NFL, the NFL
Draft Tight End University UH, the UFC Shane Gillis is
twenty twenty five Tour, and bud Light has partners including

(06:58):
Peyton Manning, George kitt, Baker, Mayfield and Smith, Shane Gillis,
Post Malone, Dustin Porier stuck him now, and bud Light
had to www dot butt bud Light dot com, Ford
slash located to find a store near to you. Is
it a drink? He's doing joy? Sorry, we had to
get that out of that. We had to do that.
Love bud Light. But the boys are you see them
highlighting it on me?

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Does our guy Brian?

Speaker 5 (07:19):
Like?

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Does our guy? Does he have a pick for the
NBA Finals? Like? Who's gonna win it all?

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Do you want me to do you?

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Do you have a Do you have a prediction? Well,
I know you like to follow it too.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
I think the Celtics are gonna win. I know they're down,
you know they it's now two to one, but I
think the Celtics are just that good in Annapolis is looking
great right now, up three to one, but I think
it's gonna be Boston again.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Okay, how do you feel about that?

Speaker 2 (07:45):
I love his pick? I love love pick. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Like one of the reasons why you love that pick?

Speaker 2 (07:50):
My boy JJ reddicks out of it. The Lakers are
out of it. So you know, I don't really have
a dog in the fight. So I'm gonna lean on
my dog Clay and our guy that we won't mention
in their picks, because last week we did. He had
a he had a He just drops every so often,
he'll drop a parlay and he'll say, this is it,
this is the one.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
Yeah, but then hey, he doesn't give up. He's not discouraged.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Because even it was on Friday, and so it was like,
let's all consolidate, We're all gonna do pizza Friday together
to make sure this parlay hits. And I want to say,
every leg except one did not hit.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
So it was it was close.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Yeah, it was close.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
He always want every single one except for maybe the
last one.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Yeah. But I don't necessarily have a dog in the
fight with the NBA. I'm more so just like watching
the athletes, do you guys see.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Uh, watching the athletes, just watching them boys around.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
What's what's his name? And yeah, Anthony Edwards him going
up top. I didn't know he was only six three?

Speaker 5 (08:44):
Yeah, I mean, yeah, what college did he go there?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
I have no clue.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Georgia, Georgia. Yeah, that dunk and the shout out to
the Minnesota team, their social media team because they crush
it with him. But Clay, how do you feel about it?

Speaker 5 (09:02):
I like him, I like him up your alley swagger.
I like did you see the clip with when he
was in front of Obama? Yeah, Ron talking about he's
that man or that dude or whatever he said. I
love it. I think they need more of that in
the NBA. And then you saw him get after Lebron
kind of pushing him a little bit. Oh here he goes.
This is a great clip right here, just kind of
showing his mentality. I feel like we don't get that

(09:23):
enough anymore, at least viewership. You know, we're always trying
to go to we these athletes are trying to go
to the free throw line, you know, flopping and stuff,
and I feel like a man.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Is he's got some old school in him.

Speaker 5 (09:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
Yeah, there's a there's a conversations that always takes place
around the bus, usually JP and Will about football and
NBA and NBA guys could play in the NFL. What's
your take on NBA guys playing in the NFL? NBA guys,
can they do it at a high level?

Speaker 5 (09:53):
You mean, just like throwing them out there or if
they like trained to become trained to because I thin
them to become first of all, you have to have,
you know, somebody who can take the hits. And I
think that's that's hard to quantify, you know, without seeing
what they what they can handle. But from an athletic perspective, absolutely,
I think they could.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
Athletically, they could, for sure, but there's something different about football,
the physicality of that, Like it's not it's not for everybody, right, you.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Just can't do it.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
And you can't just take a guy just because all
the athletic ability in the world and make him into
something special. In the NFL, obviously the trophies here, I
understand that, but I understand yeah, but I'm just saying.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
As the better athletes.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Better athletes the NBA. You're talking about athletes though, like yeah,
like who can jump higher? Yeah, that's NBA.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
Curious put a corner out there.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Yeah, Look, there are some some elite athletes in the NBA.
All of them are elite athletes because they're in the
top one percent of their sport. But I've been coming
around to yeah, maybe these guys do have some ship
to them, especially Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
I'm telling you Russell Westover two people and yeah, Russell
Westbrook turning back the clock locking down. Uh, SGA. I
don't know if y'all saw that, but SGA probably league MVP.
Russell Westbrook locks him down like end of game pretty
much to seal the win. And Russell Westbrook is how old,
like thirty four thirty five?

Speaker 2 (11:23):
No clue, he's thirty four to thirty five.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Yeah, and locking down the best player in the league
in the NBA play.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
It's so impressive. Hose guys played for so long. I
feel like ten years is like the average in the NBA.
Guys just go forever.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
And he's toward his acls like that's better.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Than me, that is better than me. Yeah, I couldn't
you boys messed around with YMCA in third grade, I
had I was like one of the few kids that
could shoot a three, one of the few kids. But
that's that was it. That's as far as it went
from me.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Did you play any basketball growing up?

Speaker 5 (11:53):
I played? Uh?

Speaker 4 (11:55):
All right, we interrupt this episode to bring you something special,
something spicy in the bedroom and that what is it?

Speaker 5 (12:50):
I played all sports when I was a kid, and
then could you wrestle? Well, No, I didn't. That's that's
more like a Midwest thing. We didn't do that on
the West Coast. I wish I did the wrestlers or stuffs.
I've got all. I saw some some old video of
you're getting where you're getting pinned or where you know.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
I was dog and the kid, Yeah yeah, hit him
with a fake cut, let him up, no heading aside,
cradled him.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Yeah no. And then then as I went to high
school and that ain't me, I started pictures houlding up
a picture of you. That's not me, sat Clay Matthews.
That's me on the right, and that's my brother Brian
on the left. But anyway, I played basketball, but I
developed late in high school and was getting tolate and

(13:31):
I wasn't getting a burned, so I just just retired.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Look at the football player, try to shoot a basketball.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
Great on defense though, no easy buckets. People are scared
scared of the five fouls.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Yeah, that's always our go to as well. It's like, oh,
we can play some defense, we can play some we
can set some screens. Yeah, dude.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
The wrestling thing is such a Midwest thing because I
never never crossed my mind growing up in Arizona. But
it is something you look at now. Like I've said
this so many times in the show, but every time
Will's put his hands on me and I think I'm
gonna he throws me around. Even when I was like
three ten, three fifteen, I would go and try to
wrestle them, and he would just pick me apart. And
this guy was on JV his senior year.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
Oh man, stop, okay, well I was a JV. We'll
get back.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Didn't you say you were JV your junior or senior year.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
No. Like when I first when my parents made me
go back into wrestling, they said I could either be
grounded for the winner or I could wrestle. So when
I got back into wrests, sitcher crazy. At the very
beginning of the year. They sent me to a JV
tournament to like earn my stripes or like I had
to stay back. I couldn't go on varsity. Went to
the JV tournament, did not get scored on with the
one of the worst hangovers of my life because I
threw a party at the house the night before. Uh

(14:40):
but that's the only time I was on I was
on JV. Oh qualified for statement?

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Come on.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
But like you mentioned the body control, like the Sayers
are offensive linemen who were former wrestlers. You'd just be like,
all right, I'm like, you just can't put hands on
them because they just they just baz.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Yeah, get around them a little bit. Because the wrestling
is my daughter, my youngest Willow. She's doing jujitsu right now,
and then she kind of like wanted to get away
from it for a little bit, and I was really
pressing her, just hey, sweetie, I promise, like you just
keep doing this, defend yourself. Now she's running around. We
put kung fu pan on this weekend, and then yeah,
she started throwing around some kicks and all these things.

(15:15):
I was like, you want to learn karate? She's like yeah.
I was like, jiu jitsu is the way to go.
She's like, I'm back. So we had like three week
hiatus and now we're getting back into it on Tuesday,
which fires me up because my oldest there's just not
a competitive bone in her body.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
She doesn't have it.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
She doesn't have the stuff, which is heartbreaking because for me,
I mean, we all grew up in sports. We all
grew up in like you go, you play every single
sport depending on what season it is, and then you
just roll onto the next one over and over again.
With my kids that are like I got my daughter
in soccer, didn't care for it. They love like art
and music and all these different things, which is great.
But now I'm as a father, Like I'm out of
my wheelhouse. I need to find something.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
So we gotta we gotta stud flag football team. I've
got two girls on our on our team, we're you know,
accepting of all genders and uh, you know, we got
a good little squad. They're coached up. We got one
more game and then playoffs this weekend. Really we're going
to be back to back.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
What's the what's the age group we're talking about here.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
Like five six yeerals, it's it's considered pre K, but.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
You're gonna move up with them as they get older.

Speaker 5 (16:20):
Yeah, because that's that's my My youngest is in that.
And uh, it's like you had mentioned that was the
first time. I don't know if I had mentioned this
last time, but coaching them where I felt that yeah, adrenaline,
that rush. It was this first game like a year ago,
year and a half ago, we won on like a
touch Now I'm being honest, like we won, Like yeah,

(16:46):
I told my wife that, I'm like, this is why
people get back into coaching, because you just have this
wealth of knowledge that you want to give to everybody.
And that's where I'm at, like, like I love coaching
these kids. I coached them hard.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
You know.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
The first thing I tell them is like, we're gonna win.
Like I don't. I don't like the coaches who let's
have a good time. It doesn't matter if we know
we're out here to win, we're out here to be great.
Let's let's let's take advantage of our time, like they
will develop the skills. And then I got to lean
on the dogs on the team, like my son and
the other ones. You know, I'm just saying like who

(17:18):
do Yeah, he's a dog.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Or is it like that's the coach's son.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
There's no, okay, he's he's got that dog.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
It's a meritocracy.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
But he's six years let's take that with a grain
of salt. But he knows what's being asked him. I
always talked to him like I try and talk to
him like a man at six years old, like, hey,
these other kids are looking up to you. You know
they might be in pre k you know, for what
are these So I need him to be the example
the role models. So I'm just trying to set the
tone moving for But I'm not like I got a
preface this and say I'm not that sports dad, like

(17:48):
I'm not. I'm not that Like, my kids have fun
you right there and the parents. No, and the parents
have fun too, and we have fun by winning, learning
the game, building car, confidence, having respect. Everything that you
would hope that your your child would be would be
taught from you know, a coach, a role models, a kid.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Or has there been a kid that hasn't wanted to
play sports.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
On our team in your family? Oh yeah, my oldest
is probably the same as your daughter, where he's like
we you know, we try to mountain soccer, just being
like nah. But he's he's he'll probably you know, build
spaceships or something like that like Elon, or he's loving
fishing right now. I think they've got some fishing uh
you know clubs out here, which we didn't have on
the West Coast. So yeah, he'll find his niche. But

(18:32):
I tell my kids like, I don't care what you do.
Like my daughter, you know, she does play basketball on
some other sports, but she loves gymnastics and dance. I'm like,
just be the best at it. Just be the best
at whatever it is you do, and you'll be fine
in life Like that. That's that's all that comes back
to be the best podcasters. You know whatever it is, like,
you will have success. It doesn't. You don't have to
play football, you don't have to play sports, but naturally,

(18:52):
like I gravitate towards that because that's what I did
as a kid. Just be the best.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
So your son he doesn't play any.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
Sports my oldest, no are you don't keep the playing sports?

Speaker 2 (19:00):
If he didn't like.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
It, well, listen, I mean like kind of like my
dad told me, if we start something, we finish it.
But if you don't want to play after the season,
that's fine.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
That's that's the move.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
That is the move.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
Because when I put my oldest in soccer, it was
very very quick. She was like, I don't this is
not really my back. And I just told her, you're
doing the whole season, right, and we're going to go
every single time. I'll go with you every single time,
but we have to go like you have. Your team's
waiting on you, they're relying on you. And so once
she was done with the season, it was over. But
sometimes to finish the.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Season, well, my son, my youngest who you know, his
first game playing flag football. He played two snaps and
cried the whole time on the sideline as I'm trying
to coach him, send him off to his mom, you know,
do this, and now he can't get enough, like when's
the next game? He's you know, he's he just loves
you know, sports, loves football right now. So I think
that comes from confidence as well.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
So how does how does you take your kids? Who
plays two snaps, cries, goes to his mom to now
he loves it? Like, well, how did you work on that?
Because that's maybe where I need to fill in the
gap a little bit, is I don't know how hard
to push or how hard to push.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
Yeah, it's consistency because every time I push too hard,
then I you know, you're like I go too hard,
And if I'm too soft, I'm like, oh, I'm being
soft on him. So I think we all have that
internal you know, kind of tug of war of parenting.
But I think just consistency and giving your kid kind
of the resiliency and courage to have confidence, you know,
that confidence, because I think that's what it stems from.

(20:20):
My kids tend to shut it down when they don't
have confidence when they're in a new environment. So it's
just filling them with that, like you know, like you
can do this, You're going to be all right, Everything's okay.
And then as they start to do it, you know,
they get better at and they learn to like it
and they learn the example. So yeah, I mean we're
having a good parenting talk, right.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
Yeah, it is good because it is like just fighting
to the fringe of the insecurity and fear wether than
you do it. My daughter, they they had a World
Day at school where they all had they did My
daughter did Panama. She had to make a whole thing
for the animals in there. And then she's talking to
me the night before about there's going be four hundred
people that I have to perform in front of and
her and I are going through her whole thing. Then
her mom gets home from like a little like an

(20:58):
outing for Nature and Nurture Company, and I find out
it's like everyone just goes into a room and the
parents kind of walk around and like, look, oh that's
real nice, and then you kind of keep going. But
when was like trying to dial in all the different animals,
all the different things to the point we're up we're
up to like ten thirty, and she's like, so, nurse,
I was speaking from people. She's like have you ever
spoken in front of people before, like sweetheart, especially a
couple of photos. This is me at the Grand Ole Opera.

(21:21):
You know, they starts showing her some stuff. But it
is like the pushing part to me, I worry about
because I don't want them to like get pushed so
far that they kind of just shit the bed when
it like it happens, so it's war.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
You might need to put Willow on his team.

Speaker 5 (21:35):
That's what I was Yeah, that's what I was alluding
to it at the beginning, is like we you know,
they're still at the age where they put the boys
and girls together before they separate them. And obviously it
means nothing to the boys right now, but there's a
part of me that loves it when our when our
girls get after it.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
On the team.

Speaker 5 (21:50):
Yeah, like yeah, I love it.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
You know Will's will is definitely she has more coordination
right now than when Winds like built like me, Like
she just still got that baby deer movement, like she
kind of doesn't know how to run on her kick
or throw. Willow for whatever reason, just picks it up
a ghosts, so she might Yeah, we look into it.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Well, we're just finishing up so we'll have to get
you on the fall end. Yeah, yeah, tryout to try out.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
To Clay's too young.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
You're looking for an old line coach.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Have a play up. That's how you get back and
do that.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
All we have is five.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
It seems like this is a squad we got, you know,
with it.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
And I enjoy it. I really enjoyed this.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
We need to get under the mentorship of a Clay
Matthews now be the example. Yeah. Yeah, he's asking us,
Oh yeah, you're trying to build a Are you gonna
move up with him? Are you going to stick the
five and six year olds?

Speaker 5 (22:33):
Trust me?

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Could you imagine Clay's kids just like fifteen, sixteen years old,
and he's like still with the five and six year olds,
he might be just a random five and six year olds.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
That's what uh Luke and them are doing. Yeah, they're
with Olsen's kid right there. Their kids like they grow,
they go up with them every time. I remember they're
in middle school right now. But when they get the
high school, it's almost like the high school's gonna get
fired and they're gonna come in and take over. You
got to know the high school.

Speaker 5 (22:56):
That's what my dad did So when my dad retired,
I was in and I think I just finished fifth grade,
you know, somewhere in fifth grade, and he took over
as coach. He might not have been the head coach,
might have been decoordinated, whatever it is, but he stayed
with us the whole time, and we just, you know,
you just have that same group of kids who goes
through an NFL, you know, mindset of how to run.
I mean we were running like zone blitzes in high school,

(23:18):
just off you know, offense is just just putting a menacing.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
Yeah, you were basically your dad was the first day
on Sanders.

Speaker 5 (23:25):
I mean the first thing I love. I love coach Prime,
but I think they're two very different. But yeah, with
the whole entire time in respect, yeah, he was. He
was with us the whole time. And then as soon
as I graduated, he went to my other brother and
then went to his high school and worked his way up.
And they always had great teams and they were they
were coached well I mean coaching, so no doubt about it. Yeah,

(23:45):
I mean, well they were.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Yeah in high school. Did you see guys with technique
in high school? It's like what are they?

Speaker 5 (23:52):
Who they working?

Speaker 4 (23:52):
With had a guy in high school with me. His
name is Craig Row played at Michigan with me. But
he was a kid in high school that like actually
had takenique in coordination. He was a d ND and
he would just know the body and he wasn't like
the most physically gifted guy in the world, but he
was a stud. And I was like, where is he
getting this because we're all kind of just running around
out there still even in high school. So there he is.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
The coaches kid too, has always got kind of a
leg up initially when they're young. I wouldn't.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
I wouldn't. Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were. I
thought you were, you know, just in the way that
you are taking you know, digs at it. I was
about to say, no, no, you're right, You're right in
that regard, because you know, they just they live it,
you know. But I felt like there was times when
I was in high school where like my dad was
just ruthless with not ruth as I shouldn't say that

(24:39):
won't get a better rat but just like he had
to make sure he wasn't showing me preferential treatment. So
it was always, you know, you gotta work a little
bit hard. You get treated a little bit different. Same
goals with my kid at this age. It's like, obviously
you build him up when they have good times, but
you just you know, other kids are goofing around. You
yell at your kid for like the one in there. Yeah,
you know, try and tighten him up.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
In California, do you have to be a part of
like the school staff to be a coach as well,
or you can just kind of come in.

Speaker 5 (25:01):
No, well I'm not sure how his public versus private,
But no, my dad wasn't a part of the wasn't
wasn't a part of the staff, So I'm not sure
how that worked. And he didn't take a salary or something. Yeah,
just like showed up, just showed out all doubt.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Yeah, that's just always having to perform in front of
your old man too.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
Yeah, you got to give him the whole like you're
gonna be treating how you treat the team speech. Yeah,
that's the first thing you have.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
With the kids.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
That was tough because, like you know, naturally every kid
thinks they know more than their father. And you know,
when dad played nineteen years and I'm like, I just
didn't want to hear and it wasn't until even going
to college, Like it took a while for me to
be comfortable with him watching me and all that. I
don't know if you guys ever went through that, like
having your having your dad come and watch and being
embarrassed or you know, just not wanting to let him down.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
So and then they want to talk to you, like
after the game, and you kind.

Speaker 5 (25:46):
Of just like whatever day, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Very short answers, kind of your body language just kind
of turned away from him high school.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
I figu you're more receptive because you know your old
man played high school ball.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
So you think, like, here's the opposite for me. Because
in the NFL, where I was like, Dad, let's let's talk, yes,
talk like I need help.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
Right, My dad would come to me when I was
in the NFL and be like, maybe you should do that,
but we're gonna be all right, Dave, don't worry, and
I have to go fine, I'll go to my coaches.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
I enjoyed talking to my dad more like when I
was playing it, not even in college, but the NFL.
But yeah, if he brought up schematics or technique.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
So do you think about punching with the outside on
first and then I'm like, Dave, no, I'm not doing that.
I'm not doing that. The dad though, how was your
dad like, I'm always bringing this up his Will. I
remember I tore my a cl and I went to
Will's house and then Will's dad spent two hours telling
me how much of a glue guy willis, like boasting
about in Will the best any awesome. I'm like thinking, like,

(26:41):
I think my.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Career is over.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
I'm so sad and I just want to hang out
my boys. But was your dad like the proud dad
or was he like it could always be better dad?

Speaker 5 (26:50):
I think it was somewhere in between. I don't think
he obviously he let me know, you know, when I
did a good job, you know, postgame, traveling to the
games and whatnot. And then you know, he was always
he was always careful about tiptoe and that like, hey,
can I can I offer you know, like he didn't
want to insert himself, knowing that I'd probably have. You know,
me and him are so much alike, were so like
I got this, but at the same token, like one

(27:12):
has to want to receive, you know, that type of coaching,
so to speak, parenting. So he was always like he
can I offer something? Yeah, sure, Dad, let's go like
tell me. So he was good about that. But at
the same token, you know, I mean, it wasn't like
he was telling me it was never enough or you know,
telling him I'm not to say that's not the right thing.
You should have all the confidence in your son, you know,
talking about me for two hours just like oh, yeah,

(27:33):
he's a good career, that type of guy.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
I just yeah, nineteen years in the NFL. That is insane.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
But that was proud man. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
I kind of reflected, like smile about it.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Yeah, it's just like you said, nineteen Yeah, he played
nineteen years in the league. It's like my dad didn't
so him seeing his boy, like, yeah, he's a proud
he's a proud the same way.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
Well, I always got these these times where I go
home and you know, I just I like to reflect
and think. And you had posted, you had posted like
a tweet or an you know whatever post on X
talking about how you were a free agent and you
played what nine allegedly ten years, Like that's remarkable, dude,
I truly mean that, like to go from a you know,
a free agent to playing that many years is impressive

(28:17):
because you know, as a first round pick, like you're
kind of handed the keys, like don't screw it up.
You get a guaranteed four or five years and you
know you got time to develop. But as a free
agent anyway, I just want to tell you a good job. Man,
that's awesome. I actually thought about that and I was like, man,
that's that's impressive. You know that's impressive you.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
I was waiting for the butt I was taking about
to kill.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
This man in the second.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Good job.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
Receiving that compliment takes Man, you did a good job
with that.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
You're the best.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
I'm gonna need that clift too, and I'm gonna send
to my old man. Heye deck clean Matthews.

Speaker 5 (28:51):
Yeah yeah, we're more Ray maunt Luga fan.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
If we interrupt this episode, if you are currently taking
it two, then this ad is for you. Are you
fumbling the ball when it comes to getting a caminite
clean back in your end zone? Make the right play,
call an audible and switch from dry toilet paper to
wet extra large dude wipes. Why it's simple, Wetter just
cleans better. Dude wipes are wet and extra large so

(29:14):
they clear never smear your rear. So when you got
to go number two, be sure to bring the number
one product and clean Dude Wipes the Goat of cleaning
your keyster. Available in Amazon and at Walmart nationwide. Dude
Wipes Best Clean Pants down. Back to the episode.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
Dude Going on the free agency. It's like the first
time watching cuts happen when you are when you are
the first round pick, and you think, oh, we're all
just gonna be here together forever, like your whole like
draft class, you're together and you have the free agent guys,
and then that fourth preseason game comes and do just
come and dap you up. Guys are crying like that
was to me like shocking, so shocking to me seeing
guys like just gone. And then the next like two

(29:53):
days later, four or five guys are back.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
Yeah, it's just you did it man. Yeah, well we are.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Yeah, we all had great careers. But yeah, thank you.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
I need to receive the yeah due to the draft
was great, great execution. It was amazing than the whole
I had no idea. I saw you come out in
that bike, I saw you stand behind Goodell. I'm thinking
to myself, good company, man, he's doing this thing right now,
and obviously we saw you right before, yeah, and then

(30:23):
going to do the speeches you did. Can you just
run down that process a little?

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Yeah, man. So I was, well, I'll just go back
to the beginning. So I don't know where you people are,
Like where'd you call them with that idea to you know, uh,
you know, mentioned Trump and then Bear still suck. So
my agent, you know, I was going to be out there,
you know, some endorsement opportunities, appearance opportunities. Light bud Light
was one of them, Shadow bud Light, and they had
asked if I wanted to come up, come up on stage,

(30:48):
much like last year's in Detroit, two years ago in
Kansas City. So I looked at last year's and it
was like Calvin Johnson, Barry Sanders, Aidan Hutchinson, Jared Goff,
you know, and I thought it was like obviously got
a mixture of legends and current players, and but they
all went up there and they just screamed into the mic,
you know, and I was just like, I don't really

(31:08):
just want to get up there and be like you baby,
make some noise. I was like, let's make this memorable.
So I don't know where it came from, but I
ran it by my wife. I go bit, you know,
she's always the voice of reasoning, obay, what do you
what do you think about this? You know, and she's like, yes,
you need to do this. So she's the master at photoshop.
So I went online and search for some letterhead with
you know, his President Trump's signature on it, and so

(31:30):
she was like, we need it bigger, we need this.
We need to make it look like handwriting if you're
going to hold it up. So she was, she was
behind it, and she did a great job right there.
But anyways, I didn't tell anybody because I knew the
NFL wasn't gonna improve it. You know, I knew just
you know, just in today's political climate. You mentioned ones,
you know, political affiliation left right, Like it's just not

(31:51):
going to go over well with with the NFL. So
I I man, I was, I was nervous. Backstage, I
was with Jordi am on Green, James Jones made some crosby,
Lil Wayne showed up back there, and meanwhile everyone's had
I'm just because I'm you know, I got this envelope
that I'm whole and just shaking because I didn't know,
and they didn't know. I didn't There wasn't so there
was a bunch of stuff going probably overthinking things. But

(32:13):
I go listen, this is a live event. They could
cut me off if I go too long past fifteen
twenty seconds, you know. So they had asked me, Hey,
is there anybody who wants to go up there and
say some things like last year? So I kind of,
you know, Mason and Georgia like, I'm not gonna do that.
I'll get it. I'll get him going, boys get I'll
get them going, you know. So I kind of fit in,
but I didn't know where I was gonna fit in with
Lil Wayne and whatnot as.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
Far as when he was just a wild wrinkle him
out there.

Speaker 5 (32:38):
We just showed up. So I'm like, well, is he
gonna say anything? I just thought like he should have
at least, you know, like Eminem did last year, like
he should have. He just kind of came up there.
But anyway, so then yeah, the opportunity just kind of
opened itself and I just I pulled this piece of
paper out and just and it it went overwhelm. It
went overwhelmed. My brother, who I you know, Kyle, who
was on here with me last time he tent out
of ten execution, delivery, everything was on point, so I

(33:00):
was I was happy with how it landed. The boys
all behind me, they enjoyed it. They had no idea,
so they were, you know, equally as fired up. And
then you know, anytime you can take a chance to
put the Bears down, you know, yeah, you gotta take it.
So one of the what I went, I went. Then
I went backstage. I'm like, oh, and I gotta face
I got to face the wrath of Godell and everybody else.
But they were immediately, they were super cool backstage. I

(33:23):
was like, you know, I kind of half heartedly apologized
while laughing. I said, hey, you know, I'm sorry, Like
I knew you were going to prove it, but this
and that, and so Roger was like, I just I
didn't want to laugh when I was, because you know,
I didn't want him to seem like he was he
knew what was happening, complicit whatever you would call it.
And but they were all like, there was a few
hat me, you know, because I had the sheet. They're like,
let me get a picture of you with this. So

(33:43):
they were super cool with about it. Yeah, so it
was good. It all went over. I told I'll probably
never be invited back again, but yeah, it was cool.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
And then when you're riding the bike out there, like
how nervous are you?

Speaker 5 (33:56):
I was so nervous because I told them like in
a week before, like are you opening to riding a
bike out there? And I was like, nah, I don't
want to ride a bike like I got my wife
put me in these tom Ford pants beautiful, you know,
like super super tight, you know, got these loafers on
and so, but everyone else was doing I don't need
one guy to walk my bike out. I wrote it
out there, But yeah, I was nervous not to be
on stage, but just to deliver something that I that, like,

(34:18):
like I was just fired up for, but that nobody knew.
So I was like, I just hope it comes goes
over as well as my wife thinks it's gonna come over.
I think you did. And then then the response I
got from it was was great too, because I'm like, oh,
this is a dig at the Bears. Right. Well, then
it turned political, you know it's like you know Trump,
like I've lost all respect for Clay you know this
and that and all right, but I was happy.

Speaker 6 (34:41):
I went over, well, yeah, you're not going to please
them all, but exactly, well, it wouldn't have worked with
anybody else, Like it's just the joke wouldn't have worked
because I watched your guys, you know, your time up
there in Green Bay.

Speaker 5 (34:54):
And when I went up there, you know, you're you're
filming yourself, and you hear me talk about you know,
Donald Trump, You're like, oh no, I give a sense
I sensing you. You're like, you're one hundred percent he's
gonna bomb or he's gonna like now is not the time,
you know.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
Like when you're about to plant your flag in the
mega world, And I thought, this is a crazy time
to do that.

Speaker 5 (35:11):
Yeah, I could just tell he was right about every
day shat it.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
But yeah, that's that's why I worked because I had you,
I had you out here, I had you out here.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (35:23):
So I had fifty percent going, don't make it political.
I got fifty percent going what did he say?

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Yeah, and then I.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
Take it a whole different.

Speaker 4 (35:32):
In the pause too, like I just have the phone
with Donald Trump. He has a letter, let's see what
it says. And you took the time to open it up.
So everybody in the rooms like holding their breath, like, fuck,
what is about to happen. You had a bunch of
guys probably like what's he gonna fuck boys out there?
And then you for you to do that, like it
was the ten out of ten delivery.

Speaker 5 (35:49):
It was awesome.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
It was the Trump catch wind of it.

Speaker 5 (35:52):
I'm assuming it's funny because my mom I talked to her.
I got home that night and uh she called me
and you know, oh my gosh, like we were we
were delayed. You know, Dad pushed pause and you know,
something was happening, and so their phone started blowing up
there and like some of their Chicago friends are like,
not cool, you know what happened? And so they were
just they were they were they were laughing. They were

(36:14):
thinking it'shysterical. But my mom was like, do you think
President Trump's going to see this? And I was like,
no way, Like he's got I mean we're over there
talking about tariffs and the Middle East and stuff. I go,
no way. And then you know, so the next night,
Friday night, it's like ten PM and Washington number text
me and I said like, hey, this is so and
so with President Trump, Like I think it's it's his

(36:36):
like right hand girl who does all the tweeting and whatnot.
And he delivered a nice text something along the lines of,
you know, you delivered your speech with the same fiery
approach that you took to the game. I was like,
oh yeah, So I let it sit that night because
I was like, I don't know if I'm getting pranked
or whatnot. So the next day, the packers pr was
calling me saying, hey, certain someone wants to get in

(36:56):
touch with you. So I just replied back and I
wrote something nice to him, and and uh, He's like,
all right, you know, stay in touch. I was like,
but like, listen, we won the super Bowl when Obama
was in office, and and Obama his wife Michelle, her brother,
I believe, was like the Oregon basketball coach or women's

(37:17):
basketball and I met him, so he you know, he
shook everybody's hands and was like, you know, nice to
meet you them. When he saw me, you know, it's
the whole key and key and pel sketch like that.
I think, yeah, I want to say he dapped me up.
We got to look back through the archives, but he
was so cool, Like he was so cool, just like
knew about my family history, knew about my brother going
to Oregon, and I was like, man, this is this

(37:40):
is great. Anytime you have the now here's me, you know,
anytime you have the the ability, the opportunity, I should
say to like meet the president, like it's it's awesome.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
You take it as you get so so.

Speaker 5 (37:53):
It was awesome. It was the joke landed, you know,
made a contact out of it, made a friend and
we carried on.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
When you met Obama? Had you was the key and
peel sketch before Obama?

Speaker 5 (38:05):
I think it was after, it was after? Yeah, I
have no clue, but I just wanted to know what side.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
I'm wondering if it's like in your head the sketches
out there, like is he gonna try and shake my head?
I'm gonna make it known that we're dat.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
I was reading his enterancy, you know. Yeah when he
had the little laugh you know, like and the hey,
and the hand was up, yeah, the elbows up by
yeah Obama.

Speaker 4 (38:26):
He understood. Man, the whole thanks Obama thing, he like
he like leaned into that as well. When everyone was
like thanks Obama, did everything inflation so high?

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Thanks Obama?

Speaker 4 (38:35):
That and he had this bit where he had a
giant cookie and a glass of milk, and the COOKI
wouldn't fit in the glass of milk. He's like, thanks Obama.
He had a whole bunch of stuff like that, and
then the dapt thing I got. I got hands shook
by Obama. One time it was me, Donard Robinson and
Patrick o'mama. He was doing a commencement speech at Michigan
and he dapped up Patrick o'mammy. Black guy dapped up

(38:56):
Denar Robinson. Black guy gave me the stern white guy. Yeah,
so we are not on the same level.

Speaker 5 (39:01):
Did you have you show though?

Speaker 4 (39:02):
I think I was wearing like a blue Michigan collared
shirt and khaki pants and he's like this, yeah, cat clean, Yeah,
old linemen walked up. Nice to meet you, Nice to
meet you, sir. Absolutely so I got, I got the handshake.
Went up this episode to bring you simply safe.

Speaker 5 (39:18):
What are we trying to keep safe?

Speaker 4 (39:19):
Out their kids? We're trying to keep family safe. Kids
say if new car, garage, everything the whole kit kamboodle,
as they say, traditional security systems only take action after
someone has already broken in. That's too late. Simply Safe

We got the IA, we got the monitoring going on,

(40:22):
a lot of activity in these streets. We got to
make sure we stay safe, and we stay safe with
simply Safe. Big hugs and kisses. Back to the episode.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
I know we only have a lot of amount of
time with our Larry O'Brien trophy, but your guys is
fondest memory to the NBA Finals.

Speaker 4 (40:38):
You know, it was actually looking up stuff before this
episode on different NBA Finals stuff. But the thing that
comes to mind the most is Lebron's down three to one, yeah,
and coming back and winning it. That's to me, there's money.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
Yeah. We were in Mexico when I was watching those games,
and that was electric. Everybody's everybody's packed around the TVs
at the bar and seeing them come back as when
they went down three to one and then ray Allen
bangs at three to kind of ignite them coming all
the way back, that that was electric.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
Might be mixing together finals?

Speaker 2 (41:10):
Yeah, am I mixing together finals? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Yeah, you're thinking of with Miami. When ray Allen hit
a three three to one, was with the.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
Calves because that was his first year. He came back
from Miami, right, Yeah, came back and went with the
Calves and one of the.

Speaker 5 (41:24):
Yeah you're thinking of Kyrie though, when I hit that
three to Okay, that was that the game was.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
That was I don't think it was the last game,
but it was a game seven.

Speaker 5 (41:34):
Yeah. Yeah, I guess the Warrior block.

Speaker 1 (41:39):
Yeah, because Lebron. That's that's right, Lebron.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Because that was the year the Warriors had like the
like arguably the best regular season of all.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
Timer seventy three and nine.

Speaker 4 (41:47):
Yeah, which is insane crazy, That is crazy.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Other than that, I think of like when m J
was playing back in the nineties, like because Space Jam
it came out.

Speaker 4 (41:56):
Yeah, Like I don't think I recognized how great MJ
was until The Last Dance came out because I was
taking a think in a way to like, how do
we bring up who's our goat? And my my answer
would be Michael Jordan. But the only reason why I
bring up that answer is because it would be because
the Last Dance. The Last Dance was one of the
best documentaries I've ever seen in my entire life.

Speaker 5 (42:13):
I love when former players give, Like I always enjoy
seeing former players give like Jordan his his praise or
flowers or his prop same with Kobe. It's fun to watch,
you know because as a fan of the game, and
I hope when it's all said and done, because you know,
when football it's tough. It's like, you know Taylor was,
you know, I beat him a couple of two. You know,
it's like we have such an ego. It's always nice

(42:35):
when you know, you see the guys on like the
TNT de desk or whatnot kind of let their guard down,
so to speak, and you know, give praise to other
great players. It's fun to watch as a fan, Like
you only hope that the NFL can tee because I
just find like in the NFL world, everyone's so guarded that,
you know, we're always so worried about.

Speaker 4 (42:51):
The pastring always going on.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (42:53):
Yeah, Like it was like that that interview you did
with like Luke Keikley. I was like watching that, like, dude,
that was like, what a great guy. Now, you know,
I'm just sitting here like, dude, great guy. Like I
just you know, you want to give someone their flowers
and their praise and stuff. That's just just a separate
I wonder.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
And taking the approach too of like you just being
a fan of the game and realizing it's like you know,
anytime we've had you on a being around you out
like I mess around with you. But it's like appreciating
the game and art that you had on the field.
I love to refer to it as art. But just
giving guys their praise like you are a fan because
we were all we were all those little kids growing
up watching these players play just because you played with

(43:29):
them against them where they're older and you younger and
you same age, it's like it's still the same approach.
I feel like people mess with that because again, your
fans watching the game, and when you see other greats
or other players that are sitting there taking it from
like the fan perspective and just appreciating it, because it's like, uh, yeah,
your ego getting the way of like throwing some flowers
somewhere right right, and he guess what, you just want
to be like, yeah, I played pretty good.

Speaker 4 (43:50):
Right, Especially when you're playing like you you feel like
you shouldn't give it. I don't know if you feel
like you shouldn't get people flowers, but like the thought
of giving somebody else flowers, like it almost takes away
from you when it shouldn't be that way at all.
Because you see these X basketball players and they do
definitely give more flowers than like football players do. And
then Keithley coming on, I'm just watching this guy like
he was the ultimate team guy. Just the way he's talking.

(44:11):
Is he so accomplished that he's not worried? Or is
it was he always this way? Because the way he
even talks about his career, It's.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
Like, Bro, you don't.

Speaker 4 (44:18):
You don't understand, Like how good, how fucking good you were.
He was incredible. Even when he had concussions and he
couldn't be physical anymore, he was just as productive, like
keeping his head out of everything, which to me is impossible. Yeah,
to be able to transition.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
Like that, even just giving this teammates as flowers too,
Like it could have been so easy for him to
talk about how they checked to two there and not
really brought up Thomas Davis, but how he goes into
each guy and how it made the play work and
everything else. It's, yeah, it was. It was awesome, JP.
I know you're a big NBA guy. Your fondest memory

(44:53):
of the NBA Finals.

Speaker 1 (44:55):
Every actually comes from one of my dreams because I'm
a big Heat fan. And in this dream, I guess
I was in college, but I'm in the huddle, I'm
on the team, and it's Coach Spoe. He's he's coaching us,
and we're drawing up the final play. We're down by
two and we're all thinking it's going to Lebron and
Coach Poe is like, no, JP, it's coming to you.

(45:17):
D Wade is gonna inbound, Lebron is gonna set the
screen at the top of the key, You're gonna come
around the screen, You're gonna bang it home, and we're
gonna bring a championship to a three oh five. I was,
all right, let's do it. Knock it down, knock down
the three get lifted up on Lebron and d Wade's
shoulders and legit. My dream ends as I'm like walking
out or on their shoulders with the trophy and just

(45:38):
like this is the greatest day of my life. And
then I wake up and how to go to class.
I'm not aware of what I just accomplished, but that's
one of my favorites. That is beautiful growing up, I mean,
so many summers like June. I feel like the NBA
Finals to me is summer growing up where like June hits,
you're out of school, you're with all your friends, you're

(45:59):
watching it's hopefully a great series, and we had so
many good series growing up, so that.

Speaker 5 (46:06):
A little emotional back there. That's good. Yeah, that was
a great, great dream. I remember growing up in LA
just walking watching the Lakers Kobe Shack even before them,
Nick nam Xul but I remember big shot Bob Robert
Orry nailing down a three. I want to say it
was against the Kings or something that was always a
heated rivalry versus the Kings Vlade Divac but uh yeah,

(46:30):
who was uh Derek Fisher too hitting that shot against
Was it San Antonio with point point something seconds?

Speaker 2 (46:37):
Like?

Speaker 5 (46:37):
Just lots of good memories.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
NBA.

Speaker 5 (46:40):
It's fun to watch.

Speaker 4 (46:42):
I gotta get into it more.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
We would have.

Speaker 4 (46:44):
I gotta be more intentional about watching the NBA.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
And Nebraska, like when we were doing the summer training
and everything else, like be in June and all the
guys would get together. It was back back when Lebron
was young and they had that series, remember against the
against the Spurs.

Speaker 1 (46:57):
Yeah, when they just started killing him.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
Yeah, Bro, they were killing him because you're either just
like now, you're either pro for Lebron or you're against Lebron.
And when that went down, the Spurs end up beating him.
Oh that was tough.

Speaker 1 (47:11):
I was fighting for my life as a Lebron Yeah.
You still almost average a triple double?

Speaker 2 (47:15):
Yeah yeah, and then just shelled up, Yeah, shelled up.
All Right, We're gonna take a quick break. We'll get
into this ad read because we got to get the
Larry O'Brien trophy out of here. NBA. Thank you guys
for bringing this trophy. Yes, and we'll be right back
up to this. We interrupt this episode because we were
brought to you by Neutral Vodka Seltzer. Have you tried Neutral?

(47:38):
If not, you were missing out. Neutral is so much
better than any other seltzer that I have ever tried.
It's made with real vodka, real juice. That's what makes
it delicious. Neutral comes in a variety of flavors, a
couple of my personal favorite, watermelon and pineapple. I say
it every week, watermelon and pineapple. They also now have
new flavors, lime and strawberry. Neutral is the perfect drink

(47:59):
to bring when hanging with friends because it is such
a crowd pleaser. Whether you're at a bar, watching the game,
in the backyard with friends, at a tailgate, doesn't matter.
Have some Neutral in hand. Neutral, Keep it tasty. Boys.
How was how was Mother's Day? Weekend?

Speaker 4 (48:13):
It's good? Yeah, it's nice. Yeah yeah good yeah yeah, Like, uh,
we didn't really do nothing.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
Good.

Speaker 4 (48:24):
No, I literally I turned Mother's Day into Mother's Weekend
and we just basically me and the kids. I had
like a sit down conversation with my kids Friday night,
and I was like, when you wake up in the morning,
you wake me up. Mom is not doing anything. Anything
she doesn't want to do, She's not doing And so
it was just like treetailing like a queen for forty
eight hours. And in my head I was like we

(48:44):
got so we had like mulch done and stuff like
that for like the property, but I didn't like get flowers.
I didn't get a card, and I was like trying
something new. And last night she was fired up on it.
She's like, I really appreciate the way you did this
Mother's Day.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
Was what was to trying something new?

Speaker 4 (48:57):
Try something new, like usually just get like the cards
and the floor hour and you do something the kids
make a craft, which the kids did make a little something.
But we just kind of just was like, Hey, this
weekend's about you. Whatever you want to do.

Speaker 2 (49:07):
What's we're gonna do.

Speaker 4 (49:08):
We had antique stores, we got a nice little coffee
in the morning, like just do whatever she wanted. And
then like Sunday night, her friend Natalie came over and
she's like, yo, I I this was an awesome Mother's
Day weekend. I appreciate the way you did it intentionally
as supposed to just handing me whatever, because something that's
so easy to kind of like, hey, here's something, here's
something happened Monesday. Let's go back to our regular, you know,
regular scheduled programming. But yeah, Taylor was, she was happy,

(49:31):
and that's all it matters. I can't I set the tone.
I can't wait for Father's Day, can't wait for Father's Day.

Speaker 2 (49:37):
What you believe putting Mother's Day together with Father's Day
in mind, it's a real thing, though it's a school
board thing. You kind of played a game a little bit,
see what y'all do. Woke Uh, we did a sleepover
with Rue on Saturday, nice, which was you know, fun.
She had you know, she didn't want to go to
bed the whole time. But I was giddy because it
was kind of my first time doing a sleep over

(49:57):
with Rough because she's done it with Charlie before. Woke up,
brought Ru out to kind of bring her out, bring
her out of the room and surprise her. Got her flowers,
better flowers than I have in the past. And Rue
had a little craft thing made for and then I
took the kids like I got Scotti, got the kids ready,
took them to Bingi's Bagels to pick up Charles' favorite
bagel because she loves benji No free shout us to Benji's.

Speaker 4 (50:20):
What's Benji' where's Benji's at?

Speaker 2 (50:22):
It's over in on the west side, kind of we're
our old, Uh, we're our old the church warehouse.

Speaker 4 (50:27):
Yeah, it's yeah, they see where they make it. Yeah, okay,
I think.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
Down that road on the right. Came back to her.
She's reading outside on the front porch, and then we
went to Whole Foods to shop for She loves doing picnics,
so we got everything needed for a picnic, went out,
did the whole picnic, had a good time for a
couple hours out there, put the kids down for a nap.
She got up, she had like a sound bath. Have
you ever heard of those? She had like a sound

(50:51):
bath at like four point thirty, So had a few
hours to herself where ripping with the kids, and then
made her to where it's like a sound bath is
essentially yeah, like you take your own pillow, you got
a blanket, and you're just sitting in a room with
just sounds to where you meditate, fall asleep, take like
a nap. Well, I guess whatever you want to do.
And she came home. I had some steak and shrimp

(51:13):
with some some with a garlic cream sauce getting made.

Speaker 4 (51:16):
Oh shit.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
We had steak and shrimp and asparagus, had a nice
little dinner. I put Scottie down. Rue was adamant about, hey, mama,
mama putting me.

Speaker 4 (51:26):
To that's a slish mind.

Speaker 2 (51:28):
So Charlie had to kind of put I had to
kind of put Rude down. And Scotty's been a little
under the weather. She's got like a little cold going on.
So we were kind of ended a little bit last night,
but overall, very solid, very good, well executed Mother's Day.
I brought Rue because you guys know, the flowers got
chipped to the shop last week. So on Saturday, I
want to go pick him up because I couldn't. I
didn't want to like put him in the truck, so

(51:48):
I used Charles's car to come over and pick him up.
And I'm kind of telling Rue, like, obviously you know
it's gonna fall through with the three year old, but
I'm just telling Rue, like, hey, this is a secret.
This between you, and that you can't tell mom about
the flowers. When we go inside, we don't tell her
about the flowers. You can say she has a surprise,
but we don't tell her until tomorrow. She's like, one
more sleep and then we tell her tomorrow. I'm like,
you will go to bed tonight, we'll have a sleep,
and then we'll surprise her tomorrow with the flowers. So

(52:08):
she comes in and she's kind of like, oh, well,
what got you a secret? And then we're kind of,
you know, playing it cool, like hey, play it cool,
and we're kind of sitting there on the couch and
she's like, one more sleep and then we show you
the flowers. Look around. God, damn it God, and Charles
starts laughing. But the good Mother's day man, the.

Speaker 4 (52:29):
Three year old being adamant about mom putting them down.
There's no doubt my kids choose my wife over me,
There's no doubt about it. But for whatever reason, it
clicked this year and I was like, guys, like, I
know you want them to put you down, but it's
about mom. Like, wouldn't mom want to put us down
on Mother's Day? Great wrinkle, great wrinkle? Went nice job. However,
no yeah, no, I'm gonna do it. So they were.

(52:50):
They were all on board, which is nice. Hopefully they
continue to do it. Hopefully they continue to handle business.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
Said a good showing what is your Father's Day gift
that you like my Father's Day? Like, hey, here's how
I kind.

Speaker 4 (53:03):
Of like, I don't know because we've done the that
one year we had with you and Dennis and everybody
when we went and just like had had a boys
day set up at a whole boys day that was sick.
But I feel like my kids, like because when's older
and like the second just being more developed because they
just watched their oldest the oldest sibling, like they like
are really intentional about like Mother's Day, fathers like celebrating

(53:26):
that person. So like I kind of just want them
to have fun with it, like whatever you guys think,
because to me, it's like got to sleep in, like
let me sleep as long as I want. And then
after that it's like.

Speaker 5 (53:36):
You can do that as usual for me. Yeah, like
I feel like she lets me sleep in. My wife
will make me breakfast, which is really nice. Kids, will
you know, give you cards, and then after that, by
about lunch, it's like all right, I'm cooking mac and
cheese from my girl, you know, and then then then
it's business as usual. Man. She might let me sneak
away for anap, But I think it's all about expectations,

(53:57):
you know. It's just just knowing what you're getting yourself.
And if you think the whole day is gonna be
about being pampered and whatnot, it's like, just just be real.
If you get to sleep in, that's a win in
my book.

Speaker 2 (54:05):
Yeah, the way that the sleepy let me go sneak off.

Speaker 4 (54:11):
I'm not a big nap guy. You love the nap,
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (54:14):
I just I get a little mid day of sleeping.

Speaker 5 (54:15):
How long is you nap?

Speaker 2 (54:17):
From forty five minutes to an hour?

Speaker 5 (54:18):
Perfect?

Speaker 2 (54:19):
It's like when the kids go down, like we were
in a rhythm when we put Root down for a
nap on weekends where it's like, I'd give me a
little nap in on the love sack. I fall asleep
for a good forty five minutes phil rejuvenated nap while
they're napping. Gosh. So that's kind of my vibe.

Speaker 4 (54:34):
See, I can't do that if I go like take
a nap at like two three o'clock I'm up. I'm up,
Like I can't fall asleep at night. For me, it's like,
let's just grind through this midday sleepiness.

Speaker 5 (54:43):
What's your sleep time? On time you go to sleep
at night? What time you wake up?

Speaker 4 (54:47):
If it was my world, I'm going to bed a
nine thirty about sleep. I'm more like that ten ten thirty,
intentionally winding everything down at ten because my wife, she
she's a little night owl. I like to get up
a little earlier so you fall sleep after eleven. Usually
it's eleven that the TV's going off, which sucks. Which
sucks because I do really just want to like, hey,

(55:08):
if we just go to sleep at nine thirty, week
up a little earlier, we get more out of the day. Yeah,
you know, I'm all about that night falls. As soon
as night falls, I see that sun starting to set,
my brain turns into ah, yeah, I'm the same. How
do I figure out a way to get everyone to
sleep so I can also go to sleep. I'm kind
of a nightmare at night.

Speaker 5 (55:24):
See. My mind is about getting the kids to sleep
so I can have some me time, some US time
between the life and I between me. Even if it's
just like mindless, like watch or whatever it may be.
But I'm I I feel like I put myself in
a in a pickle, so to speak. That like I
don't go to sleep until like midnight or something. Our
kids school starts like an hour early before everyone else.
So I'm up at six am. And then I do

(55:46):
that for about four or five days, and then I
just crash one.

Speaker 4 (55:48):
Yeah, the crash is real too.

Speaker 5 (55:50):
Nine thirty ten o'clock sleep into like eight the next day,
but then it powers me through the next four or
five days. I know, I know it's not you know,
it's not great for longevity, but you know, I'm just
trying to get these kids right.

Speaker 4 (56:01):
It makes you look at like the Rock and like
Kevin Hart, but like, how the fuck do they do that?
They're sleeping four hours a night. They're optimal, man. Yeah,
they're on that medicine three point Oh, medicine three point.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
Doctor Gabriell lyon can It's referred to as like, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (56:17):
We're on that.

Speaker 2 (56:18):
I'm about to be on it. I'm diving in this week.

Speaker 5 (56:21):
What's this?

Speaker 2 (56:22):
So on the sleep thing, I can get good sleep
and I'll still have like midday sleepiness. Yeah, Like it's
just I don't know. For whatever reason, I just get
like a midday crash. But the medicine three point oh
stuff is like preventative medicine versus reactionary where it's like
you'll go to primary care or you'll go to a dock.
By the time you go to a dock, you already
got something going on. But like all those fool on

(56:42):
one hundred plus blood panels. There's a spot down in
Franklin called Paradigm. No free shoutouts to Paradigm, but I'm
diving in this week because as you know, I've I've
hurt my back so many different times, and this last time,
I'm just I'm legitimately so pissed off that my back
keeps getting re injured. And I'm at the point too
where it's like I'm thirty five, like if I keep

(57:04):
doing the same habits that I'm doing, like I could
have some actual problems by the time I'm forty. So
it's like I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.
So now I'm going to this spot. I went to
this pt shut out Griffin down at a Paradigm, and
they have this whole thing to where it's like they'll
have like this medicine three point zero type of approach,
so we'll do all these labs, Dexa scans like things

(57:25):
to where it's like what your goals are and Taylor
like lifestyle towards those goals. So that is what this
week I'm diving into. I'm getting Charle on board too, really. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (57:34):
Yeah, when you brought it to me last week, it
fires me up because we've been doing the Gabrielle line
for a little bit, but it's always zoom calls and
then you have to do blood samples and then those
takes a couple of weeks and then by the time
it's like a month past.

Speaker 2 (57:44):
I'll get lazy.

Speaker 4 (57:45):
Yeah, and you get a little lazy with it. But
having somewhere to go in town is the move. Yeah,
And they have the Dexa scans, they have all that
stuff apparently, Like, we'll just fill me in on this
a little bit, and I think I'm gonna get the
family on that too. It's might reach out soon because
it is nice, like dude, being able to operate cognitively, energy,
all that stuff. It's like, it's what you're seeking. Twenty
four seven when you start to get older, once thirty hits,

(58:08):
back starts to hurt. Things just start to hurt more
than ever. And I just don't understand it.

Speaker 2 (58:12):
Dude. I'll sneeze and I get nervous when I sneeze.

Speaker 5 (58:15):
Hey, So like right now, today's like the first day
I'm coming off back spasms last week.

Speaker 4 (58:19):
Hey, I'm saying you when you got here, you kept
like doing something with your back.

Speaker 5 (58:22):
Like I'm sitting in this chair at an angle because
this is not a Herman Miller lumbar support chair, yeah
that I have at the house. But uh yeah, so no,
we my wife and I we took a little early
Mother's Day, her birthday, my birthday vacation to BlackBerry Farm
and you know, in East Tennessee. And man, that I
was driving out there, I feel that my left extensor

(58:43):
start burning in the car.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
Now you're just suggesting while you're driving.

Speaker 5 (58:47):
I'm sitting forward. So finally let her drive. I'm like
completely flat, and the whole time I stave it off,
like you know, she wants to do pickleball. I rallied
mountain biking, I rallied hiking. You know, let's go. It was, yeah,
and then as soon as I get home, I'm like,
all right, I dodged a bullet and then that Monday
just just and then I'm on the ground for two

(59:08):
full days until the spasm gives out or gives up,
and now I'm working on pushing that inflammation out. So
like right here, I'm just like buddy, yeah, yeah, And
it's crazy because I'm thirty eight year younger than me
and I've had scans on my back and they're like,
I remember the word was capacious. You have a capacious
like uh, you know, like spinal whatever. Because I'm almost

(59:29):
hoping they find something so we can surgically fix it
because it happens about four times a year to where
I'm just my wife knows I'm out of commission, but
don't ask anything for me.

Speaker 2 (59:37):
You're looking at a merror right now.

Speaker 5 (59:39):
But here's here's my problem. I'm excited to hear you
talk about that, but here's where it gets me. It's like,
it's going to take a commitment from you. It's yes,
But the thing is like every time I think I
want to make a commitment, I'm going to do physical therapy.
I'm going to get my core right. Then I go
and I start feeling better. I go ah, just getting that.

Speaker 4 (59:54):
Is every man. It's like the stretching thing. It's like
I'm going to stretch ason asy wake up in the
morning'm gonna stch the day. I say, hey, when I
before I go to bed tonight, I'm gonna stretch. And
then you're laying better. You're like tomorrow we start and
it's just a vicious circle over and over again.

Speaker 5 (01:00:06):
But I feel like I'm not ready to make that
commitment to a healthier lifestyle.

Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
Yeah, that's that's all too. It gets where it happens
again and then you start bringing up the surgery, and
that's the one thing I want to just get far
away from because they'll bring something back. Oh you got
some degeneration going on your L four and L five,
like just that kind of stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:00:23):
Yeah, but everyone has like some sort of herniated disc's thirteen. Like,
luckily I haven't had any back pain like you guys
are dealing with. But I got little, this little new thing.
But the spine is the most terrifying thing.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
And once you start once what he says, that not
the same conversation that I've kind of had with you
on Like it'll happen four or five times a year.

Speaker 4 (01:00:41):
Once a month, Will and I have a conversation about
his back and what we both need to start doing
more and better.

Speaker 5 (01:00:47):
But it'll be something. I remember I was getting my
shotgun out because it was like Turkey season. I went
to go put it on the table, you know, like, oh,
I just threw it on the ground like I was like, well,
I wasn't load or anything like that. That was just
what I was doing. But it's it's the most like
I was getting a cutting. We're out one time, and
you know, like you just throw everything, Yeah, just grabs
on you. But I can work at my property and
lift something incredibly heavy and brace you know, brace the

(01:01:08):
core and whatnot. But it's always the little things like
bending over to you know, help your kid out of
the back, whatever it may be. Where it's it's you know,
you feel like it shouldn't happen. And then of course
you're like why I'm you know, I'm thirty eight, Like
this shouldn't be like this. And then I go back
to my and I'm like, I'm good, I gotta quit, bitch.
And but it's a bad cycle, and.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
It's a territ it's a nasty cycle. Like you're talking
about just the smallest things. I'll pick ru up out
of bed and it'll just fucking grab me and then
I drop like I'll lift, drop, rude down, drop the guns,
drop the babies dead. That hurt his back. And she's
back from surfing because when we were out in Hawaii,
we surfed and I had to end up stop surfing
because I was say, hey, my back is an absolute
help from surfing, but you grind it out. Wife wants

(01:01:48):
to surf, grind it out. She wants to play tennis,
grind out in the whole entire next week. Back from Hawaii.
I'm like, I'm in fucking hell right nowh God.

Speaker 4 (01:01:54):
I don't envy that because I'm younger than you know.
I feel like I'm two years away from that happening.
I just feel like we're all in different state.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
A yeah, but it's it. You know. When I was
in Vegas and I got rolled out by the big
big Bertha, which I love doing. Oh you did the
body tempering units body tempering? Yeah, and my man went
over my low back and it just it spasmed on
me right there and I'm kind of sitting there. It
was before the very first practice that I got there
probably from flying, and you you do the workout, and

(01:02:22):
I'm sitting there like I cannot be hurt, literally before
I even go out to walk through. So I'm doing
all the band stuff to warm my gluee through practice
and come come back after practice, and so I'm gonna
do like band distraction to help like decompress my spine.
Bro I got down to decompress my spine to where
I I get it like this, I crawl out and

(01:02:43):
then I was just like letting go back decompress. And
when I go back in and it compresses back down,
I could not get up off the floor.

Speaker 5 (01:02:51):
This is exactly. Hey, So I used to have one
of those inversion tables. So naturally you get on it
and where you like lay backwards and it just fine.
So you think about it. You lay in that and
it hurts a little bit at first, and you get
there like, oh, this is so good. I love it.
And then the second you start your those muscles that
are already in spas and they start to contract your oh,

(01:03:12):
and then you get it's even worse. So you're on
the ground. You can't even get off the ground. You
have to slowly inch like army crawl your leg up
to your side so that way your back the muscles
don't fire.

Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
Play the strength coach is coming over. Hey, well you
need somethings on. Oh no, I'm just I'm just warning too,
something out done here, trying to just fake it, like again,
I cannot be right now and end up inching my
way upd standing, breathing and getting in and I just
fucking hobble back, just getting the car, go to the
to the hotel, just being like But since that moment,

(01:03:41):
I feel like that area of my back has never
been right. When when we that was the time when
we wrestled in the in the pool and I got
you bodied me but lifting you up and that activated.
I feel like that lower right side of my back
has been in hell ever since.

Speaker 5 (01:03:56):
Twenty twenty twenty. But you have to laugh at it.

Speaker 4 (01:03:58):
Yeah, I've had one back thing. We were we went
to Arizona to play the Cardinals. We went to Arizona
play the Carls. I stayed there the week before, the
whole week and then played San Francisco and I played
like like fourteen maybe twenty snaps of the game, and
my back was in such a pretzel. I had to
go back, and I was fucking on all these different

(01:04:19):
by muscle relaxers so much, all these things, and so
now I can't shit. I get up in the morning,
Like getting out of bed is just like the hardest
thing ever. Brushing your teeth. It just even a sneeze.
You feel a sneeze coming, You're like, I'm if this comes,
it might actually kill me.

Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
You guys could have saw me on the weight room floor,
like just trying to inch up.

Speaker 5 (01:04:37):
And yeah, yeah, it's embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
He uh, you need help doing anything of it. I'm
just do some floor work.

Speaker 5 (01:04:44):
Let's just do it some floor work.

Speaker 4 (01:04:45):
But even we were in Green Bay. You were in hell,
weren't you.

Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
Yeah, a little bit. Ever, all the travel we did
in the springtime, it's like when we went to uh, Nebraska,
I'm getting stuff to calm me down anytime inflammatory wise,
and I just know in my head this is gonna
to make me feel good to where it's like I've
gotten away with another one and then the next one
pops up. So I'm just like I'm battling with myself. Bro.

Speaker 4 (01:05:07):
When we were in Nebraska, the team was waiting on
Will in the locker room and we Will's in the
training room and I got one of those closed doors,
like he's talking at the doctor right now. I have
to go. Jack walks in there like, hey, the team's
waiting on you. Guys like, oh for real. So I
knock on the door and open up. I Hey, Will,
they're waiting on you. And he's like oh really yeah,
And Will starts this speech with the entire team and

(01:05:27):
he goes, just got my back looked at. It's not
good speak. Start ends up being like an incredible speed.
This starts the whole thing like that. It was just yeah,
this whole trick. Literally, this is the end of the night.
At the draft. There's still photo and I'm doing something
for me doing shirms like it was a name age

(01:05:49):
body count and Will this is Will, that's this is his.

Speaker 5 (01:05:53):
Have you ever taken like water bottles and just put
it under your lumbard just so when you're sitting like
on a like on a plane or something, just to
give you just.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
But that's smart. I'll like roll up the hoodies and.

Speaker 5 (01:06:02):
Stuff and just put it. That's desperation mode right there.

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Because you just you just know when I'm gonna be
in hell.

Speaker 5 (01:06:09):
I had my like yetti mug, driving big old thick.
When I put it right here, I'm gonna drive my mind.
She's like you, Okay, maybe you should take over. There's
only funny in heist when you're going through it and
then you have no you're under You're in so much
pain and so uncomfortable. Everything pisses you all. You're just
yelling at everybody. You're just miserable, and you're.

Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
Not telling your wife that hey, like, yes, please, foruld
love of God, switch me out driving.

Speaker 5 (01:06:33):
But you'll move enough to get out of let's go. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I mean if you play with her.

Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
Guys that BlackBerry Mountain or BlackBerry Mountain, that's what we did.
How was that? Because I've been to farm, but I
haven't been the mountain.

Speaker 5 (01:06:46):
It's just different. It's it well still it's still an
older demographic, but it's more like everybody's in like yoga
pants and like active, where whereas like the farm is
more eating and yeah, but I like the farm a
little bit more, just because you know, with the mountain. Yeah,
it just it depends. My wife says, the farm the
spas there is the best, but the food at the

(01:07:08):
mountain is so good. Everywhere it's really good at the mountains,
so good. They got to off the puss up there
at the at the fire tower.

Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
It's really good. SOMEU have you been?

Speaker 4 (01:07:20):
You've been a farm, BlackBerry Farm that you need to
take the girls there, dude, because it is good. The
farm's awesome, Like everything's like farmer table there. It used
to be.

Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
That's awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:07:31):
Ruby was it Ruby Tuesdays? Yeah? Ruby Tuesdays. The owner
of that bought that land to do like business stuff there.
What's up Archie Lodge? Just you're what's about BlackBerry Farm?

Speaker 7 (01:07:46):
Archie Lodge also the Ruby Tuesdays farms and family owned
a bunch of I was just in a Knoxville wedding
three weeks ago at the Ruby Tuesday's Lodge was also beautiful.

Speaker 4 (01:07:55):
But continue basically guys doing well. Yeah, they like all that.

Speaker 5 (01:08:00):
Yeah, that's BlackBerry Farm. That's the barn, right, No, that's
the No, that's the storry. That's the spa at BlackBerry Farm.

Speaker 4 (01:08:06):
Spa goes hard there. They could have a better weight room.
They can definitely have a better We'll hit South Hall. Yes,
everyone's the South Hall is the closer farm.

Speaker 5 (01:08:15):
It's you've been in the South Hall too. I've been
to South It's apples and oranges though. Okay, yeah, I'm
just helping you out. That's a good birthday weekend, Mother's
Day weekend. Probably take a second loan out on your
house type weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:08:28):
But it's yeah, you're dropping a bag to go there. Yeah,
it is crazy. And then the Barn, I don't know
how the mountain is with the barn is like a
five star restaurant where like chefs come from all over
the world to like cook there for a season and
then they leave.

Speaker 5 (01:08:43):
Jesus, Yeah, it's it's nice. The only thing I don't
like is like you pay all this money and you
can get as much food.

Speaker 4 (01:08:50):
As you want.

Speaker 5 (01:08:50):
You know, you start with your appetis. You can get
two entrees if you want. I want to try this
gallops with my you know, my lambull, and the surfaces
are very small, and but then they charge you for
the alcohol. You know, I get someone might take advantage
of you buying a bottle of wine. But if I
just want a beer or two, like you're can charge
me for that.

Speaker 2 (01:09:06):
Do leave a review.

Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
I'm not a yell Google review type of guy. I
just feel like you just scroll.

Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
For you.

Speaker 5 (01:09:16):
I just if it's if it's all inclusive, make it
all inclusive, because I hate paying for something. You spend
all this money, then you feel like get nikeled and dimed.

Speaker 4 (01:09:24):
You know, Yeah, yeah, it's.

Speaker 5 (01:09:26):
How I feel. It's just how I feel. It's like
it's like chartering a flight and then they go, hey,
do you want to get food on there? I go,
absolutely not. I got to draw the line somewhere. They're
gonna charge you two hundred bucks to put those sandwiches
on the plane. I'm not gonna eat them all, but
I will pay X amount for the ride up there.

Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
There is nothing better than private aviation. Nothing beats it.

Speaker 5 (01:09:44):
I've said this speaking up to get into it.

Speaker 4 (01:09:47):
Ultimate bro move, Ultimate bro move by you, because I
had to go fly back to Nashville from Green Bay
and for you to even send that text, hey, I
got room if you want to jump on this plane.
And I was trying to figure out any way to
get on that plane for it. But once I real
lized it was gonna you'll be waiting for me. Just
just you reaching out. That was huge. That's that's big. Anyway,

(01:10:07):
that's onward.

Speaker 5 (01:10:08):
Well, well, I knew you had to stay though, Yeah, yeah,
I had to go to Yeah, we had to get
the Lincoln the next morning.

Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:10:13):
But private aviation, Hey, let's uh, this is this is
Super Bowl Champion. That's how I talked to the beer
in the room. Should be free.

Speaker 4 (01:10:29):
Yeah, yeah, the aviation thing.

Speaker 5 (01:10:31):
Do you know it's called Nickel. I forgot Nickel actually
might actually think it's me. Oh man, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
The private Yeah, the private aviation. We can pull off
some trips like we did with Nebraska and Michigan.

Speaker 5 (01:10:45):
Would you would you Okay, let's say you win the lottery.
Would you rather have a yacht or a plane in
the world with that? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:10:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
The plain thing is that people will talk all the time,
but when have you made it?

Speaker 5 (01:10:57):
What you listen, there's some people like that, like shot
Con or whatever down in Jacksonville, you know, who have
these these yachts that look remarkable, but you can only
get so far right, you know what I mean. It's
like with a plane, dude, I don't know if it's
called window. I watch YouTube videos on like the latest
Gulf streams, like the G seven hundred or the G
eight hundred, and I'm like, when I win the lottery, right,
we're getting.

Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
This is yours only ninety eight million dollars, Like, w
how do I make ninety eight million to just fit
on this fucking plane? How do I do that? Because
it is the best man. The first time I ever
flew private, I was with Gay Bikert and his wife
and their family. Both sides like one side the family
start American Fidelity Insurance, the other side of the family
started Loves Gas Stations. So both families very well off.

(01:11:39):
I fly to La Commercial and then like, hey, we're
gonna fly from LA to Maui. And I get on
this plane and it is as big as this fucking warehouse.
The bathroom was as big as this bus. And I thought,
this is the most incredible thing ever fly to a
private airport Maui.

Speaker 5 (01:11:52):
Or private fbo.

Speaker 4 (01:11:53):
God, I'm hammered. I was hammered. I threw up in
the bathroom. We go look it up at the stars.
I don't even know what's going on.

Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
Wake up in the morning.

Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
There's like this giant I'm in this giant house and
it's like in this bay during grey whale meeting season,
and they're like splashing in the air as I'm sipping
on a coffee nursing a hangover, and I thought, this
is this is.

Speaker 5 (01:12:12):
This is the life, and this is the content your
fans are gonna love to Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:12:17):
And then I flew back on Southwest and still to
this day, Yeah, that ship is wild. But yeah, you
can't beat that man, can't beat aviation.

Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
What else do we got, boys?

Speaker 4 (01:12:28):
We got a beaufree shout out. Oh, shut out, shout out,
boufree shout out. Oh yeah, oh first yeah, if I
have it, I let's see here, Let's see here, let's

(01:13:31):
goes to this winning a bet against your boys and
having it last a long time. And unfortunately I was
on the receiving end of losing this bet. But Bert
Kreischer at the super Bowl in February able to bench
a three hundred and twenty pounds and then again three
hundred and twenty five pounds, where he has conned us

(01:13:51):
into promoting his show, his tour, his everything on this
on this bus with the boys program for an entire
year is a great bet to win. I wish so
badly that that Burt torres peck and just completely failed
on that bench fest. Unfortunately he did not. So with
that being said, his new special is out. Unlucky. Yeah,
tour dates? What else you got going on? What does

(01:14:13):
Burt gott Well, let me get those tour dates, requ.

Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Will it's getting pulled up. One of my friends in
Greenville sold a house to a massive Burt Kreischer fan
who went on Burt and Tom's cruise, and so I
promised him I shout him out. His name is Tony.
He just moved to South Carolina.

Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
Bought Tony.

Speaker 4 (01:14:28):
Shout out Tony. All right, So Burt Crusher's tour is
July eighteenth, Winnipeg August ninth, Halifax August twenty third, Spokane, Washington,
August twenty fourth, Calgary shut out, Burt Kreusher. You're the man, dude,
you beat us.

Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
How's that biscuit phenomenal? Yeah, you guys want a little
because people can get a free little Cajun biscuit, right.

Speaker 4 (01:14:47):
Yeah, ended up free Cajun biscuit Partici participating partners using
code busting.

Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
Yeah, that is it. So when you get that Cajun
free biscuit, here's my low Cajun free biscuit hack, Ken,
I've already talked about it, but it is put honey.
It is drizzling honey on your Cajun fil a on
your Cajun file a biscuit. That's my hack. My shoutout,
boufree shout out. This week is going to go to
snot suckers.

Speaker 5 (01:15:09):
For your kids.

Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
Yeah, for the kids, Scottie. We at first he's very
congested and using those little bulls that kind of suck
it out. They kind of just don't kind of just
don't do it. And you just feel like you're torching
them the entire time. But hopped on Amazon, got a
little snotsucker to where you kind of set it by
your nose and you you like suck it up out
of there. Yeah, and it's it works wonders. So if

(01:15:32):
you're out there in the parenting game and you're using
that little ball and you get a little frustrated with it,
just pop on Amazon get yourself a little snot sucker.
It does wonders wonderful. Yeah, wonder that's my shotou boufree
shot out.

Speaker 4 (01:15:41):
I love that. Well, speaking of hacks, anytime I get
my cage and file a biscuit, I do think more
protein the better, So I like to throw the leg
on there, a little cheese with my sandwich.

Speaker 5 (01:15:51):
Eat a sandwich.

Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
Yeah, I'm meeting it.

Speaker 5 (01:15:53):
Cajun Fla, got.

Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
The egg on there.

Speaker 4 (01:15:55):
It looks fantastic.

Speaker 5 (01:15:56):
Buddy.

Speaker 2 (01:15:56):
You guys got shoutouts, all right.

Speaker 8 (01:16:02):
My shout out boufree shout out goes to uh when
you go to a concert like the light show that
they put on Garrett g or g Jack and I
we went to Rufus Dessoul last Tuesday and the light
show that they had going on, Like I I caught
myself watching the lights more than I was like enjoying

(01:16:23):
the music, and like they had like this smoke go
off and then like these lasers go through it and
it looked like the sky was like you could like
touch it, Like it was one of those things where
you like, I should be on drugs right now. I
was completely sober, and I was like this would be
this is so awesome.

Speaker 5 (01:16:39):
But then also, don't have one drink.

Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
No, No, he's trying to do his craft, I guess,
So I guess he is committed to his craft.

Speaker 8 (01:16:47):
But then also like another side shout out when you
see your friends enjoying stuff like I me and like
our crews were right near each other, and G was
standing right in front of me the entire time, and
G was just vibing the entire time, like he's having
the best time his life right now. And it was
like I was happy seeing him happy, just like enjoying
you just like grooving. And G can dance too, so.

Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
He was, oh shit, okay, gee, he was doing his thing.
Let's fucking go.

Speaker 2 (01:17:13):
There's not like.

Speaker 4 (01:17:15):
That's just a fls a flow. Yeah, it's just rhythm.
Uh shout out Bope.

Speaker 7 (01:17:24):
Shout out to staying on property at a travel wedding
as a single man, like you typically get in these
flows where you get an airbnb outside of said property
for a venue because it's cheaper or it's whatever. In
the last few weddings that I've been traveling for, I've
been saying on property and the convenience factor is amazing,
and on top of it, it's usually a beautiful location

(01:17:45):
to go celebrate love and you with your friends. Our
friends were in Miramar Beach and Destin where I was
just at this weekend. We were staying closer towards like
the Alabama state line side, but we were in this
like twenty story hotel. We're on the night floor, had
this beautiful view of the bay. Every time I've been
in Destin, I'm very much used to being on the beach,

(01:18:06):
so it was a different destined experience for me. But
we have this beautiful view, a beautiful room, tons of
good places to eat and hang out and drink around us.
But yeah, when when a wedding party wants you to
stay where the wedding is happening, it's usually for the
right reason. And so I think I'm just growing up,
and I'm about to just stay on property every time

(01:18:26):
I go to a wedding nice because they take care
of you. And the wedding was six floors below where
we were staying, and all of our friends had to
drive twenty minutes and I was staying with three single guys.
And it's like, hey, singles are kind of up right now.
But yeah, shout out to staying on property. Shout out,
bow free, shout out. Also, are we supposed to be
doing something with our Cajun flay hack?

Speaker 2 (01:18:48):
You can have a Cajun f a hack.

Speaker 7 (01:18:50):
Yeah it was said earlier because I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:18:52):
You can't.

Speaker 7 (01:18:52):
You don't want to go too outside the box on
a Cajun flay hack. But if you throw honey on
a Cajun ful a biscuit, especially a hot agent fl
a biscuit, the sweetness of the honey paired with the
heat level of the chicken.

Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
Is a really good combination.

Speaker 7 (01:19:07):
So I wouldn't necessarily call it a hack because it's
been done. But we don't need to reinvent the wheel either, Like,
let's just stick to what we know. So shout out, yeah,
a little honey, it's been done.

Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
Yeah more than once on this bus.

Speaker 1 (01:19:21):
Jameson the wheel, Nope, I know my bow free shoutout
hack would be I love honey mustard with my Cajun
file a biscuit, and another shout out to Bojangles just
because for me, Bojanles I think immediately related to college
football because South Carolina there's a Bojngles right next to
the stadium, and every single game day morning go to Bojangles,

(01:19:44):
get Cajun file, a biscuit, combo the bow rounds dunklem
in some honey mustard, and it's just college football is
the best time of the year and Bojangles makes me
think of it. Love that Cox and shout out Spencer Rattler.

Speaker 4 (01:19:59):
He's been Orleans in it's his time.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
Yeah man.

Speaker 4 (01:20:02):
Also shout out beaufree Shadow Vegas. This weekend, Jackie hitting
the cards hard. We're gonna see what happens. Hit the
little apexel ufc aft, hit the sphere. I think the
kids would love to see that.

Speaker 2 (01:20:17):
I would.

Speaker 4 (01:20:18):
Yeah, I'll tell you what. I'll get you a single ticket.
I will and I know you will well.

Speaker 2 (01:20:23):
I know that one man.

Speaker 4 (01:20:24):
I swear all right, fair enough, I pulled you like enough.
You're going, baby, that's it Vegas. Yeah, anybody else, but
I'm not. Here's why you can go.

Speaker 5 (01:20:35):
For the first half, first song.

Speaker 4 (01:20:38):
Saturday night, I will be playing cards and then as
soon as I'm done playing cars, will be going to
sleep because we have a five am flight. And then
the next Monday, Tuesday, we got a big couple of
days here, not gonna say what. We had a big
couple of days that I need to be I need
to be ready and heady for ye.

Speaker 5 (01:20:56):
I'll tell you after the show. But I see it.

Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
Oh yeah, that is big. Yeah, yeah, that Monday on Tuesdays.

Speaker 4 (01:21:04):
Yes, yes, So I want to be available. I want
to be available emotionally for that experience. So no, I
will be going.

Speaker 2 (01:21:10):
We interrupt this episode to take you back to December
of twenty twenty three, Beautiful Toy with shopping for Christmas.
I ordered about one thousand dollars worth of True Classic
for my boys, for my dad and my brothers, and
what do you know? The CEO Ryan shout out Ryan.
He is also a fan of Busting with the Boys,
so when he saw the big order come through, he

(01:21:31):
wanted to connect to potentially sponsor the podcast. They are
now a sponsor of this podcast. They have some of
my absolute favorite pieces to the point to where I'm
now thinking about because well, you know, I'm in the
market for showing for a new house. When I do
make that move, it's just like trimming the fat in
my closet. And how do I just make everything True
Classic because you know I love to rock the white shirts,
white shirts, black shirts. I like to keep it simple.

(01:21:53):
I like to keep it true True Classic, and they
have a lot of solid colors that you'll just they
just keep it simple. You look good, you feel good,
You play good, jeans, sweatpants, sweatshirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, jeans, t shirts. Everything,
you are mobile, you are flexible at like True Classic.
We cannot say enough about True Classic. We know they

(01:22:13):
sponsored this podcast, but we legitimately love True Classic and
if you are in Nashville, they are. You can find
True Classic in Costco in Nashville starting June thirteenth, also
at Sam's Club, Target, or online at True Classic dot com.
Slash Busting great news. They've gotten in, they've gotten behind
enemy lines. They've corralled all trade men, they've infiltrated, they've

(01:22:36):
gotten all the men on board so much so that
it's now leaking into the Kids and Women's that are
launching at Kids and Women's Line later this year. Look Good,
Feel Good, Play good again. Go to True Classic dot
com slash bussing shout out True Classic AJP. You think
it's gonna be a big year for w Retler.

Speaker 1 (01:22:52):
Yeah, dude, I mean last year you look at their roster.
Obviously there was a whole issue with their head coach,
the coaching staff. The roster was not a good roster.
He did break Archie Manning's record rookie record passing yards
of the season, but no, I think it's uh Kellen
Moore's down there. I think they'll be a great, a
great duo. And I believe, of course, I believe in

(01:23:13):
Spencer Rally because he's a game cock. But I just
think he is. I mean, he's so talented. He was
highly talented as a young kid. He played well in college,
and I think if you can just have a decent roster,
he's gonna be good.

Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
Yeah. I don't know how the Saints will do it.
Feels like they just need to reset the entire thing.

Speaker 1 (01:23:28):
Right, Yeah, because who's the who's their draft pick? Tyler
Tyler should right shuck right, yeah, shuck well, and they
have Jake Hayner as the as also in the room.

Speaker 4 (01:23:45):
Yeah, I feel like I feel like they're divisions all
Tampa this year, all Tampa.

Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:23:51):
But hopefully he takes a step where the like this
is our guy for the future. He just can play
for ten fifteen years. I know other quarterbacks should Sanders?
What sure? What are you saying? The Cleveland Browns bringing
up a bunch of stats up the entire world.

Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
The trolling by the Cleveland fan base.

Speaker 4 (01:24:10):
Cleveland fan base is getting weird because they were going
after Mason Graham too, showing him in some drills like
there's no way this is the fifth overall pack.

Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
So they're trolling by talking about he has these record
breaking numbers for a rookie mini camp. And now it's
obviously working everybody up because Sanders has been such a
talk since the whole draft. But you gotta respectus yards.
I love this one because it's very obviously a forty
yard pass.

Speaker 5 (01:24:36):
It's just I read that last night and I'm like,
this guy's not eighty one. Like I'm now putting it together,
like I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:24:45):
Not gonna lie watch that video several times it's back. Yeah,
I'm pretty sure it's a troll because that's insane.

Speaker 5 (01:24:50):
And I'm like, wait, Baker, this pass I was. I'm
literally like racking my brain because I'm like, it was
a nice pass. I hope he does well.

Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
That is gonna be That's gonna be news forever.

Speaker 5 (01:25:03):
Oh bro, this.

Speaker 2 (01:25:05):
Media coverage for that quarterback room throughout training camp is
going to be insane.

Speaker 4 (01:25:10):
Were you surprised that he went in the fifth round?

Speaker 5 (01:25:12):
I was. I think from a talent standpoint, he obviously
is greater than rounder. I don't know, I don't know
how you know what happened in the meeting room. He'll
prepare whatever it may be. But yes, I was, to
answer your question, definitely surprised. I'm not you know, I'm

(01:25:33):
not one of those guys talking about collusion or anything
like that. But I hope he does well. I've like
I I've watched more Colorado Ball than I have like
any like, you know, being a former USC trojan, like,
I watched them, and I watched Colorado because they were
like must see TV. I want to see what Dion
was doing, Chador Travis, and so, you know, I hope

(01:25:55):
he does well. I hope he does well.

Speaker 4 (01:25:57):
Yeah. I feel like he's put in the best position
to do well now because he's learned early in his
career how not to handle things. If some of these
things are true, like the way he was handing himself
in the meeting room, they just the photo that Trimmers
had up with him, the sideway, the hat backwards and
sideways while you're at the combine doing press like there's
if you're a NFL quarterback, there's only thirty thirty two

(01:26:17):
of you that start. Like there's a way you handle yourself,
the way you operate everything, and if you're a billion
dollar corporation, you want to put your hands, you know,
you want to put everything on this guy. It's like
you want him to represent your team in a certain way.
So I hope he crushes.

Speaker 5 (01:26:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:26:30):
I'm kind of mixed because Dylan was a Dylan Gabriel right,
like the Oregon cat he just being around him for
the short amount of time I was for the Oregon
housetake game, he was. He's a dude that seems like
he's got a good head on the shoulders, works super hard.
Dan Lanny had a lot of good things to say
about him. So I hope they're both successful. I don't
know how that happens, but it'll be interesting to say
the least, see how that all goes down.

Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
Joe Flacco.

Speaker 5 (01:26:53):
You think they're both on the roster week one?

Speaker 2 (01:26:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:26:55):
Oh yeah, over both?

Speaker 5 (01:26:57):
And who was and who was the other buddy.

Speaker 4 (01:26:59):
Kind Deshaun Watson woll Deshaun Watson is not going anywhere,
Kenny pay So Watson will be on I R.

Speaker 5 (01:27:06):
And then you got to get rid of either one.
But you just don't give up on rookies like that, especially.

Speaker 4 (01:27:12):
I think if they showed enough promise you, you might
get rid of Joe.

Speaker 5 (01:27:16):
And he's not I know, but you need Joe to
be the the you know, to be in that locker room,
the quarterback room, to show these guys how to be
a professional.

Speaker 4 (01:27:28):
I don't disagree with you, because you take Joe out
of that, out of that locker room, it'll definitely gets weird.

Speaker 2 (01:27:33):
It'll be Dylan Gabriel should pick it that get cut,
like Joe is gonna be on.

Speaker 4 (01:27:36):
The it would would probably be Pickett.

Speaker 2 (01:27:40):
If you have to have both those young quarterbacks showing up.

Speaker 4 (01:27:42):
But you're looking at You're looking at five quarterbacks here,
really it's four like Deshaun Watson, like that's he's gonna
be on I R and there. I feel like even
with the Browns with the money there, yeah he's gonna
be on the roster, but he's not really in the room.

Speaker 2 (01:27:54):
And Mitch, to your point, like fifth round, you're a
draft pick, but yeah, you will probably.

Speaker 5 (01:28:00):
Be on the roster because he was a third round Yeah,
third round they went and got him at third round. Yeah,
you know.

Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
Yes.

Speaker 8 (01:28:06):
My thing is, though, why would you waste a draft
picked on him them? I feel like you're like your
draft picks should not should stay on the roster unless
they have like a poor preseason. But like, if you
cut a draft pick, you just wasted a pick. That
can happen though I know, but like that just seems
like in my head, that just seems like dumb for
a franchise to waste a fifth, sixth, seventh round.

Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
They're probably not going into it thinking they're gonna cut him, like.

Speaker 5 (01:28:30):
They it's a waste too. Obviously they were happy with
their third round pick and Gabriel, but you know, now
you have somebody who for whatever reason, has fallen to
the fifth You're like all right, let's let's take a chance.

Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
Let's see, let's see if he can but he can
do if pick it exceeds their expectations, that's where it's
like you you got to picket Dylan Gabriel, Joe Flacco,
and maybe you try and get Schaduro on the practice squad.
If that's how we're to play out. Like again, it's
like they're all gonna they're all gonna be in a
spot to where they can win a job.

Speaker 8 (01:28:56):
Did you imagine Shader gets cut the frends, the media
friends that will have and or if he's a practice
squad guy, I don't think.

Speaker 2 (01:29:02):
What it's going to be a media frenzy no matter what,
matter what.

Speaker 8 (01:29:04):
I don't think they'll allow him to get cut just
because of who he is. And like I know the
NFL doesn't really care about that, but like I.

Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
Just bro, they won't operate like that.

Speaker 4 (01:29:14):
They won't. I think if you see, if you see Pickett,
Shouldure and Dylan all show promised to we're like, okay,
one of these guys could be our quarterback a long term.
There's a world you get rid of Flacco because you
have all of Campbell Flacco. They learn from Flacco then,
but like he's a short term answer and these are
some long term guys. So as a franchise, you want

(01:29:35):
to invest in the long term options. I mean, it
sucks for Flacco because he is a dog still.

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
But to Clay's point, it's like you have somebody in
there who would be a pro and teach them how
to be a pro, like I think Jobion the roster
no matter what Hey.

Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
Show, can you look up how many years Flako has been.

Speaker 2 (01:29:49):
In the league.

Speaker 5 (01:29:51):
He came in two thousand and eight, I believe right.

Speaker 1 (01:29:55):
Also, it looks like Adam Scheffner ten minutes ago, Trey
Hendrickson says, Bang have cut off contract talks.

Speaker 5 (01:30:02):
Bro Hey, just real quick, Why does it always seem
like the Bengals, going back to Andre Smith maybe even
before then, always seem to have an issue signing their players.
Now there's a kid, a first round pick to the Bengals,
sitting at a rookie camp. Who's sitting at a rookie camp,
and listen, he has all the he has every right
to do it, but it's because his let's just say,
guaranteed money, whatever it may be that they're fighting over,
is less than the twenty twenty four pick at the

(01:30:23):
same slot at twenty fourth pick, Like, why is it
always an issue?

Speaker 4 (01:30:26):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 5 (01:30:28):
I mean, well, listen, I mean that's but I'm talking
like this has been this has been going on for
some time now. Whether I remember, like when two thousand
and nine was a Andre Smith from Alabama, you know,
like Darius Hey where he was slotted somewhere. I don't
know if he was asking for too much. I'd have
to educate myself a little bit more if he was
asking for what was appropriate. But now Hendrickson making Jamar
chase and then make him wait another it just seems

(01:30:50):
like there's always.

Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
They've always kind of messed around with their players.

Speaker 4 (01:30:53):
Yeah, it seems like I don't know if I'm putting
words where they shouldn't be, But I don't think they're
like a cash heavy franchise, Like they're a cash poor franchise.
So they have to like manipulate and handle these things.
And they've kind of run into a good problem to
have where they have all these great players and they've
got to pay him relatively. On the same time, the
Trey Hendrickson thing, didn't he get paid already?

Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
He's gotten way. I feel like that's always been kind
of a drama, that's always been kind of a beef
between them because he's always he's always wanted to kind
of extend this contract. They've always kind of been in talks,
out of talks, saying stuff in the media.

Speaker 4 (01:31:24):
The Bangles put themselves in a bad position waiting this
long because you had Miles Garrett, Max Crosby, all these
other guys, I mean Vianna's team, Jamar Chase, like Max
Croffy was the highest paid non quarterback guy in NFL history,
and a week later he was like the fifth highest.
So the market's gone crazy. Now Trey Henderson is probably thinking, well,
I'm up there with Max and Miles. I want to
beat them. And so it's probably.

Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
Probably as they paid Jamar Chase, they paid t Higgins.

Speaker 4 (01:31:49):
Yeah, Uh did they? Are they franchise?

Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
No? I'm pretty sure they just like the highest paid
number two receiver in the league. Yeah, but they've tried
taking care of their guys on offense, and it's come
time for Tray. It's just like, you know, how the
business kind of gets in the way or priorities wherever
they're at. Because like Trey probably could command somewhere close
to you know, those guys that are getting paid at
the top, obviously their agent. The market's kind of working
in that favor. But the Bengals might be Stratford cash.

Speaker 4 (01:32:14):
The rookie sitting, the rookie sitting out of rookie mini camp.
Though I don't understand, because my understanding of the new
CBA is every pick is slotted right with a five
percent increase every single year. So there is nothing that
you're you're negotiating over, like minor details, smaller things like
the price kind of is what the price is. So
I just got to sit out, Like, I don't know.
You you were the old CB when you got drafted,

(01:32:36):
but you went to rookie MINTI camp without being signed.

Speaker 5 (01:32:38):
I yes, that's correct. Yeah, I mean you have the
right to so I like, I don't know. I think
it depends on the situation. So I don't know what
they're fighting over. I think I had something to do
with guarant you know, some type of guarantee in there.
But I definitely think as a rookie you want to
put your best foot forward. But at the same token,
that's I mean, you just got to stand up for

(01:32:59):
you the.

Speaker 2 (01:33:00):
Agent the advice there don't don't don't you don't risk
injury when there's no.

Speaker 4 (01:33:05):
Yeah, but you but you are like it's already there,
Like I agree, I'm understanding your first round picks still,
Like when I got drafted, it was like, ty, this
is how much you're.

Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
Going to make.

Speaker 4 (01:33:14):
It's guaranteed. It can't go away unless like I, you know,
you get a d U Y or something like that,
like something crazy has like if you get injured, you're good.
Through the four years I did, I didn't sign till
two days before camp started, and that was the only
time my agent was like, hey, you might have to
like not go in for the first day and just
and then come in the next day. But I got it,
got done. But I did rookie minicamp, but I did

(01:33:35):
OTAs I had like twelve dollars in my bank account.
I'm thinking to myself, I can't wait for this fucking
phone number.

Speaker 2 (01:33:41):
It's gonna look different.

Speaker 1 (01:33:42):
Remember Sean Merriman, he said he held out of camp
and then his rookie year. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. And
then he showed up like that's right, day one practice
and went nuts and.

Speaker 2 (01:33:53):
Yeah, that's what he talks about going after Lorenzo Neil.

Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
Yeah, exactly, but it doesn't make.

Speaker 4 (01:33:59):
A whole lot of sense because they they're that's like
a fragile. It's such a unique franchise because Burrow is
so good and their team is like super Bowl caliber,
but there's always something up, like they're always losing the
games they shouldn't lose. They're always fighting to get in
the playoffs the end. Not always like this happened last year.
But they are just a team that, like it.

Speaker 5 (01:34:17):
Seems like some bullshits around them that they don't need Carson,
you know, when Carson was there and demanding a trade.
You just always think there's yeah, it's like a franchise. Yeah, yeah,
the franchise, you know, with just a little instability. So yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:34:31):
Well Joe too. It's like you've got the tools, like
you guys are a team in the AFC are it's good.

Speaker 1 (01:34:38):
The kids shows up to every single day and he's
in the jersey. He just doesn't do the actual drill,
but he's like there on the field.

Speaker 5 (01:34:46):
Yeah, that's his agent rights do everything you can figure.
It feels like the end of the world when you're
not going through it. But once he starts, if he
starts making plays, it's you know, right, But I would
like as an like as a former player, I'd be like,
I want to be out there all right, the boys.
I want to give off a good impression first impression.

Speaker 4 (01:35:04):
You never held out?

Speaker 5 (01:35:06):
No, but my contract got signed, I think my rookie one,
like right before the first day. Hey, you might have
to hold out the first day. Got signed in my
second one five year deal. I played four years and
we just pretty much to them, we're not showing up
until we get a new contract. Obviously nicer than that,
and they was, they were that's what was going to happen.

(01:35:27):
So we got signed in the off season at some point.
That was it.

Speaker 4 (01:35:31):
Yeah, it was easy.

Speaker 5 (01:35:31):
I mean there was no like it was going to happen.
I was playing well. I deserved it. I was you know,
it was it was gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (01:35:38):
Yeah, so you you you had full faith in that. Yes,
I had to hold out for a mandatory mini camp
and I was stressed out about it. Yeah, I was
so stressed because they were kind of starting the negotiations
going on. They sent off. They picked up my fifth
year and so I played my fourth year. So going
into my I believe going into my fifth year, they
started the negotiations, but like the season ended, and obviously
it's like all you're thinking about. It's like the second contract.

(01:36:00):
You're like, bro, I've done it, Hayes in the Barn,
I've done X, Y and Z, like I know what
I'm kind of worth it. You're excited about it. And
then February nothing, March nothing, April you show up for
OTAs and you're like, all right, I mean, let's see
what happens. You kind of try to be in the
best shape possible, like yell tan On, You're in the
gym a little extra long a couple of days leading up,
and then they send like some offer that's like bullshit,

(01:36:21):
like it's still it was still a good like it's money,
but you're also thinking, like you know what you're worth
and I knew what I was like supposed to beginning.
And then like John Robinson's like, you know, we just
sent you a big offer blah blah blah.

Speaker 2 (01:36:32):
I'm like, oh shit, for real.

Speaker 4 (01:36:32):
So I called my agent. They're like this is a
terrible offer, this is awful blah blah blah. So we
kind of go through it back and forth a little bit,
and then Tom Conning, my agent's like, hey, maybe you
should think about not going to mandatory mini camp, and
I was like stressed about it, and so I ended up.
It was that was Rave's first year, but Raves like
he came up to me during OTA's and he's like, Hey,

(01:36:54):
I know that you guys are negotiations. I want you
to know that I'm not touching any of that. Like
you want talk about football, we talk aout football. He
went up to me about contract. You go talk to
John about that. Like Ravee cut it down the middle
really quick to where he was totally not about it,
which I actually appreciated. But this is like eighteen rapes.
So yeah, I held out for that mandatory mini camp
and I made that mistake of going on one to

(01:37:14):
four to five the zone that first day and just
kind of listening, they're like this guy blah blah blah.
I'm thinking, Ah, did I fuck up? Should I not
have done that? And then like literally it was kind
of the same thing as my rookie. My rookie deal
is John Robinson goes, He's not going to be here.
We're not ghost negotiating with guys that aren't here, so
they cut it off. So all of June and then
half of July, like I think it was like July

(01:37:35):
like fifteenth until camp's in like a week. They called
and then they got that they got it done, Like
I think you're doing like minor detail stuff. So like
this kid who's like sitting out my first day of camp,
I was like, hey, just to protect myself, I'll be here,
but I'm not gonna do I'll do drills. I'm not
gonna do any team stuff because that the last thing
I want to do is get hurt. I was like
very transparent, like if I get hurt, like you guys understand,

(01:37:56):
and John was like, yeah, we totally get it. So
I kind of just like chilled that day, which was
so nice, so nice that first day camp dudes are
just dying. I'm like, you could be right to get
a sip of water. And then I got done the
next day. But it's so uncomfortable to say, yeah it is.
You feel like you're just letting everybody down.

Speaker 5 (01:38:10):
Oh they're taking advantage, you know, because you've never been
in a business negotiation before, so you have no idea
and you feel like everybody's looking at you, especially as
a high draft pick. You're like, I need to be
out there. I need to show my worth and what
you got, you got to do it's best for you, though. Yeah,
it's hard at that age though, at you know, twenty two.

Speaker 4 (01:38:25):
Yeah, it's interesting though because the nil like everyone's got agents.
They've all had agents for three four years now, so
they kind of like understand the business a little bit
more now.

Speaker 2 (01:38:34):
I mean, yeah, but until you go through the experience,
you don't have any experience.

Speaker 4 (01:38:37):
Yeah, so you can.

Speaker 2 (01:38:38):
Sit there and talk about with your agent, but once
the chaos and the posturing and everything else starts, is
still brand new to you. And everybody's living in their
own world. It's like you're in your own movie. So
the panic and anxiety or how are they seeing me?
How are my teammates seeing me? How the coaching staff
seeing me? By doing this, because I'm listening to my agent,
I feel like I'm second guessing my agent a little bit. Yeah,
because I want to I want to be out there
with the boys. So you're kind of pressing him, he's

(01:38:58):
pressing back. It's like you don't know until you actually
go through.

Speaker 4 (01:39:01):
That's the thing you brought up at the beginning too,
of like you're in your own story, like no one
actually gives a fuck what you're doing. Everyone's so focused
on their own OTAs their next contract, they're making the team,
and they're like, hey, Will's holding out. It's like, oh,
for real, I hope he gets his money. And then
they go back to whatever the fuck they're doing. But
you're just playing this game in your head of like
oh fuck, yeah, dude, did you uh with the draft

(01:39:22):
this year? Did you feel any type of way with
the Packers taking a receiver for the first time in
like twenty two years?

Speaker 5 (01:39:26):
It that never really affected me in the simple sense
that like we were always so close. Although see they
hit on a bunch of second rounders, Randall Cobb, DeVante Adams,
Jordy Nelson. I mean all those guys went on to
Will and are currently in like the Packers Hall of Fame,
like they're they hit on those, but they they haven't.

(01:39:47):
We were so close for so long, and then even
after when I my last year was eighteen, they I
think nineteen twenty had two of those NFC championship games
and you're sitting there going off we had just you know,
one more wide receiver one or wide receiver two to Davante,
But no, to me, it meant nothing. But I think
it was the perfect pick for the crowd for that energy.
For like to it was electric the way the draft.

(01:40:10):
I mean, I just assumed you'd have equal parts fan
base of all you know, thirty two franchise, but it
was like ninety five percent Packers fans.

Speaker 2 (01:40:18):
It was a celebration for Green Bay.

Speaker 5 (01:40:20):
It was unbelievable. You think, like on a game, then
there's seventy seven thousand fans, two hundred thousand on like
day one. I mean, it was. It was awesome. It
was electric, and so I tried to tell everyone lost
my voice. I'm like, it was it was fun. We
had a good time.

Speaker 2 (01:40:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:40:31):
I can't believe how they were able to get everybody
in there because it seemed like it was easy for
everyone to move around. But it's just crazy how it's
a small town and it was just big historic stadium
just sitting there.

Speaker 2 (01:40:40):
It was.

Speaker 4 (01:40:41):
It was awesome to see.

Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
We got to before we wrap up. The NFL schedules
do release on May fourteenth, and fan Duel has NFL
futures which can be parlayed. Do you have any early
predictions for future parlays.

Speaker 5 (01:40:56):
On what only?

Speaker 2 (01:40:58):
Yeah, like on the season, the schedule has not came
out yet, it comes out.

Speaker 5 (01:41:02):
Well, we we know the season opener, right, Dallas and
the Eagles, or we could we could we could bet
the money line on that or.

Speaker 4 (01:41:09):
Well, I'm thinking, like, what do you think wins that game?

Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
I think Commanders take the NFC East.

Speaker 5 (01:41:16):
I think Philadelphia is still the big dog there.

Speaker 4 (01:41:19):
What about the.

Speaker 5 (01:41:22):
Man? They still got their saint. No, did they lose
a couple of the D linemen right, I think in
free agency and they lost they lost.

Speaker 2 (01:41:30):
I mean but there were some young Yeah, they got
some they got some young. Yeah, they're just Philly. When
they draft, they're just reloaded.

Speaker 5 (01:41:37):
When you think of how they wont I mean, Jalen
Hurts played smart, Say Kwon did his thing. They had
arguably the best O line in D line. I mean,
you know, yeah, they're going to be the favorite going on.
Well that's what I think. I mean, Yeah, what's his name?
Jayden uh Daniels was It was fun to watch, but
like he had to put the team on his back.
I feel like with Philadelphia they're more sustained. It it's
a full team there, they're gonna be able to sustain

(01:41:59):
success provided their no you know, hangover. But I feel like,
you know, Hurts doesn't seem like a guy. He seems
like he's got his head on straight. Say you know,
they seem like they got to the right pieces in
place to do it, to go after it again.

Speaker 4 (01:42:10):
It seems they feel least like ten years the Eagles
have had great leadership and that has been a great
like they've just been handling their their stuff well.

Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
Everywhere they go. You got the Eagles winning the East.
What other team do you have taken their division?

Speaker 3 (01:42:24):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (01:42:25):
Bills, let's talk about NFS. Okay, you have AFC Uh yeah, Bills.

Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
Yeah, I gotta.

Speaker 4 (01:42:32):
Take on the Bills.

Speaker 2 (01:42:33):
I think the Bill.

Speaker 4 (01:42:34):
I think this is the Bill's year super Bowl. I
think this is finally the year they get done. This
is finally the year Josh Allen gets over the hump.

Speaker 5 (01:42:41):
What did Who's digs with? Is he with?

Speaker 4 (01:42:44):
He's with the Patriots? Which I think the Patriots. Let
me see there over unders on wins this year.

Speaker 2 (01:42:51):
I think the Patriots can get a little spicy.

Speaker 4 (01:42:53):
I think so too. Do you think they're winning the division?

Speaker 5 (01:42:56):
But I think do you think they'll get better because
of talent acquisition or I think both.

Speaker 4 (01:43:01):
Yeah, they definitely have more talent. They've spent more in
the in salary than they have I think since Tom
was there early and Rabel like he gets he has
the voice understand like he's a great coach. Seven and
a half is a lot.

Speaker 5 (01:43:16):
There is their quarterback Buddy Yeah, which he played well.

Speaker 4 (01:43:21):
People are talking about is.

Speaker 2 (01:43:24):
Who do you think is gonna take the the NFC North.

Speaker 5 (01:43:30):
I think Detroit. I'm interested to see how Buddy from
Michigan does for uh J J. McCarthy Minnesota. You know,
they've obviously got a great team of Vikings, but Detroit
is just they've got that it factor right now until
someone the yeah, until someone you know, deep rosters are

(01:43:52):
right there, you know, I think that'll be the best division.

Speaker 4 (01:43:59):
I NFC North, in the NFC East.

Speaker 5 (01:44:02):
I love watching the AFC North, though.

Speaker 2 (01:44:04):
I feel like the AFC West is gonna be fun
this year too. With bow Nicks in the second year,
you got the Chargers, Harball in his second year with
Herbert Pete Carroll with the Raiders still they're probably like
you know, they'll probably have the worst are the longest
odds going in to win the division. But I feel
like between the Chiefs, Broncos, and Chargers, like, that's gonna
be a really fun division to watch.

Speaker 4 (01:44:24):
Yeah, yeah, Broncos would be cool. I just I could
see the Chargers winning that division. You see Harball on
rich Eisen telling about how he's having dreams like JP
was having. He's had a dream. I woke up in
the morning. I was like, I got to get Justin
Herbert to the Hall of Fame. I've gotta do it.

(01:44:44):
He's the best man is man, He's got it, He's
got his guys. Yeah, let me get the Chargers on
that future. Let me get the Chargers taking the AFC West.
I'm jumping on that trail.

Speaker 2 (01:44:53):
And I kind of want to jump on the Broncos.

Speaker 4 (01:44:57):
I kind of like the biggest question mark for me
is the a FC South.

Speaker 2 (01:45:02):
Like, yeah, buddy, the a FC South is.

Speaker 4 (01:45:06):
But it's like, yeah, Texans is your obvious choice to
win that division. But then Jacksonville like they're always like
good but not good. The Titans have like everything but
said out loud there in a rebuild, the Coults are
kind of lost as a franchise right now.

Speaker 2 (01:45:21):
Texans are winning that one.

Speaker 4 (01:45:24):
I think it's gonna be closer than you think. Yeah, yeah,
that does mean they're gonna lose.

Speaker 2 (01:45:30):
Ah.

Speaker 4 (01:45:31):
Fuck, that ain't andy. I can see the Titans making it.
It really just depends on camera.

Speaker 2 (01:45:38):
Can see the Titans making it, depends on wars Is
stud It seems like he you know.

Speaker 4 (01:45:45):
I'll tell you what. He came out with the what
was the Savannah Savannah bananas. There's a clip a couple
of months ago about him and should have Saner, should
have Sanders want to make a song and he goes, no,
I do football. That's what I do. I do football.
Now he's coming out with the Savannah bananas.

Speaker 5 (01:46:02):
Let's keep the main thing the main thing, right, Yeah,
it's all the rookies.

Speaker 4 (01:46:07):
I'm just saying, man, he has that viral clip that
goes out about him being, hey, I'm a football player.
When you look up Kim Warden.

Speaker 7 (01:46:13):
It's all the draft class and he's the leader of
that class. But he's just gonna act like he's too
good to be with the boys.

Speaker 4 (01:46:19):
Get in the film room, man, why.

Speaker 2 (01:46:21):
Does it feel like you're you're going against Jack right now?
Like jack'sro he's.

Speaker 4 (01:46:24):
Going against the city I'm not going against the city.

Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
No, no, no.

Speaker 4 (01:46:32):
I love Nashville. I love the Titans.

Speaker 1 (01:46:34):
I do.

Speaker 4 (01:46:34):
It's a joke. Relax. He want to make a song.
He says, he doesn't do anything but football, but now
he's out the Savannah Bananas.

Speaker 7 (01:46:42):
With his football team, weird football.

Speaker 4 (01:46:46):
In his football stadium. Weird take bro weird take all
Boys onward.

Speaker 5 (01:46:51):
But a curse.

Speaker 1 (01:46:52):
What's the first name? Javon Curse? Did just video?

Speaker 4 (01:46:56):
Yes, Oh my god, he's like forty something, dude. He
is still he stacked.

Speaker 1 (01:47:04):
Stacked dude, Like I feel like Terrell Owens is always
the guy that gets resurfaced of how they're still jacked,
which I don't know if y'all saw him racing Tyreek Hill, No,
dude barely lost to him.

Speaker 2 (01:47:16):
Is this a cat that kind of looks like Drell?

Speaker 1 (01:47:19):
I'm saying like he's like yeah, it's like, okay, there's
Curse your percentage.

Speaker 4 (01:47:28):
He is, He's got it, rookie highlights. Insane dude. He
is his his movement, his bend was crazy. Yeah. See
if you can pull that photo up, s Dvon Curse,
Savannah Bananas. He's on the he's on the pitching mound.

Speaker 1 (01:47:48):
And after this, we'll we got to get into Cam
Newton and.

Speaker 4 (01:47:53):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right, you're absolutely right.

Speaker 5 (01:47:58):
What do you want to get into.

Speaker 4 (01:47:59):
We'll talk about it.

Speaker 2 (01:48:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:48:01):
I did see a click of Clay too that I
sent to will Or then I said to Will and
I was just thought I was admiring Clay's effort but
kind of pulled off on a play during the super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (01:48:12):
Super Bowl, we won that game. Let's get over it all, right,
Look at this man? Oh yeah, oh yeah, looks like
how old is he? Like mid forties?

Speaker 1 (01:48:23):
Yeah, at least, I.

Speaker 4 (01:48:24):
Mean good for him man. Yeah, from and the nickname.

Speaker 2 (01:48:32):
Ah yeah, play of yours Clay. We always hear the
breakdown from Cam Newton on the one where he's like,
you're like, watch the wheel, watch the wheel roun He's like, oh,
you've been watching film us too, watch this.

Speaker 5 (01:48:43):
Yeah, Like I like, I know people people think like
that should be well, yeah, people think I should be
upset about that. But so we always had signals in
the we go through a meeting and your DB's and
linebackers would be tipped off the signals, you know, like
I'm sure they'd be watching a rod we be watching Cam.
So one of his things was I think when he

(01:49:04):
went like, you know, Hulkogan flex and they run the
wheel route off that. So the bigger issue is how
is me as a pass rusher alerting the DBS and
linebackers about you know, route concepts. Cuse watch watch McCaffrey here, Kay,
he runs the angle route now without talking with without
talking with Cam or you know, is he running that

(01:49:26):
wheel route right now or does he break it off?
Because Olsen pins either Martinez like you can see right there,
they don't take it, and then three looks like he's
becoming the new number two. He cuts back in he's
white ass open like, so, yeah, it looks bad to
me because I study my play film. I knew the
route that was coming. As a pass rusher, I'm not
even coverage and he he makes it happen. But to me, like,

(01:49:48):
I'd love to have a conversation with Cam be like
because he you know, Cam hasn't sad anything because he
knew I was watching film. That's why he said, oh,
you've been watching film, like watch this, Like, yeah, I
don't know if they if they switched it up that week,
if he just if cmc ran an option route off it.
But what I'm most disappointed in is why I'm the
one calling it. You know what I'm saying That gets me.

(01:50:10):
It seems that's me fire that because I'm I'm a
pass rusher, right, but I'm in I'm in meeting rooms,
you know, being my little student of the game. Because
there's times when I got to be in coverage and
I go, oh, okay, hey, we got the we got
the wheel route coming. Nobody else is clued into it.
That's what gets me fired about the club, Like I like, yeah,
I Cam made a great play, Like I'll, you know,
let me give the guy his flowers, like we just
talked about at my expense. But you know what I'm saying,

(01:50:33):
Like everybody wants to make it a big deal, like oh,
I'm like, bro, I'm a pass rushing on this. And
in fact, I'm pissed because I went to do a
spin move and I saw the guard lining me up
and I tried to pull out of it and got,
you know, thrown out the club right here. Nobody's upset
about that, but he knew, Yeah, he knew. I was
watching a film. I love to chat with Cam about that.

Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
I got nothing and you're on the other side of
the field too. So I went to it.

Speaker 5 (01:50:51):
He watches I'll go, I go for a spin move
and I see the guard just like oh nope, and
then I just get thrown out.

Speaker 2 (01:50:56):
Like damn, you're right too, because either way, even if
it was a wheel rode like that would have still been.

Speaker 5 (01:51:01):
That's what I'm saying, guys. That's so I'm on the
side of looking at it before I know it goes
ro and I'm like, like, you know, it's tough to
be a field captain when you're you know, you're on
the first line of defense. That's why playing that inside
spot was always so much fun because you can get
guys move and you can talk about route concepts. I
was That's what I'm most disappointed in right there.

Speaker 2 (01:51:20):
Yeah, yeah, they probably did. Honestly, they probably had such
a one that they probably sell.

Speaker 5 (01:51:25):
But that's why I.

Speaker 2 (01:51:27):
Cam.

Speaker 5 (01:51:28):
I want to holler at him and be like, yeah, hey, hey,
on this play, Like, let me know, was that the
actual play? Did they did you option off it? Did
you know? Because I called it? You know, whatever it
may be, but I knew that, like, that's that's the
type of stuff I stud I'd rather people be like, helay,
how did you know that route concept?

Speaker 2 (01:51:41):
Yeah, study my film tell you like, yeah, we were
one hundred percent. We knew we had to change.

Speaker 5 (01:51:46):
Something and not that which I'd feel a little bit
more like all right, good, you know, like I knew it.
I knew it was coming.

Speaker 4 (01:51:54):
Yeah, my boy, is that one of those things After
the game you sit in the team meeting room, you standalo, Hey, fellas,
we got to be we gotta be more away of We.

Speaker 5 (01:52:02):
Were so young right there. I think we had like
a rookie at safety and you know, it's like it's
just I forget what year that was, like seventeen, you
just you know, we I think we didn't win many
games that year. It just it was the beginning of
the end, so to speak.

Speaker 4 (01:52:17):
Yeah, that's tough.

Speaker 2 (01:52:20):
Point the bud light question. Then we ask every guest,
you know, how people would do anything for a bud light?
What would you do anything for?

Speaker 5 (01:52:29):
I heard the floor safe family. I would I do
anything for a private jet.

Speaker 1 (01:52:37):
Big turkey if your big Turkey hunter?

Speaker 5 (01:52:39):
Yeah no, I do enjoy turkey. Yeah, sure, I like
I like, uh, dude, every time I drive past, you know,
on sixty five, I see those big billboards for the
power Ball in the mega millions. Like, man, so I
love to I love to think I'm a dreamer, you know.
So I put myself out there three hundred, four hundred
and five hundred million, you know, like what you would
do with that? And I played my My wife just like

(01:53:00):
laughs at me when I do this, I'm like, babe,
what would you what would you do? What would you
do if you had this much money? So yeah, I
guess well, I mean that doesn't sound good when you
say it like that. But you guys team me up.
When I'm coming on with questions, I'm gonna be asked too,
so I can have good answer.

Speaker 2 (01:53:16):
We do a better job of that. We can do
a better job.

Speaker 5 (01:53:18):
I mean, I'll give you my honest take on it.
But like some of the stuff like what is your
like what is your whatever you call it? And you're
fixed with your sandwiches, like you could.

Speaker 4 (01:53:27):
Have done a better job, done better.

Speaker 2 (01:53:28):
Du For sure, for sure we'll learning because you are
part of the family.

Speaker 5 (01:53:31):
Hey, you know, you know what I do anything for
is it is a good back. Right now, is a
healthy back. You know, I'm thirty eight, this bad I
gotta I gotta go up that l seven right there
is just acting up a nice back, you know, a
younger back.

Speaker 2 (01:53:46):
Hey, we're gonna get it right.

Speaker 5 (01:53:47):
We will some accountabilit buddy act.

Speaker 4 (01:53:49):
That's good. One one surgery, the other ones doing anything.

Speaker 5 (01:53:51):
But I don't want surgery. I'm just saying there. I've
gotten so desperate that you almost hope that they're like, oh,
you got something pushing on you know your nerve here?
You just real quick.

Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
You don't want it to be in the game where
you have to kind of play the long game and
have to stay disciplined.

Speaker 5 (01:54:05):
I recognize that that's it, but as I'm not ready
to commit to that, right, Okay, I'm not ready to
commit to that.

Speaker 2 (01:54:11):
We'll work together.

Speaker 5 (01:54:12):
Let me know how each other. Let me know when
you start going to four to three to two to one,
and then I'll buy in.

Speaker 4 (01:54:17):
Okay, all right, let me ask you this, going back
on the power Ball, if you did win and it's
at five, not tell you, but what's the first purchase
you're buying.

Speaker 5 (01:54:28):
I'd probably try and buy the land around my current property.

Speaker 4 (01:54:33):
Try or just do do. Yeah, it's just fucking happened,
and make it happen. Yeah. Sorry, what do you want this?

Speaker 5 (01:54:39):
Okay, yeah, no problem. Seems like the bestments are doing
really well, doing very well.

Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
How much have you spent in one visit for the lottery,
like get in lottery?

Speaker 5 (01:54:49):
One hundred dollars actually when I was in Green Bay,
not this last time, but I go in there. I
just dropped. Let me get fifty tickets. This is back
in Green Magasin. You know, if it gets up to
like a billion dollars, like that's.

Speaker 4 (01:54:58):
Usually anytime you see the b did you guys?

Speaker 5 (01:55:00):
He says, And then I sit there, I sit there
and then I get no numbers. I'm never playing this again.
I'm never hey, I'm never doing rehab on my back again.
And then I get hurt. You know, it's.

Speaker 4 (01:55:11):
To win the lottery.

Speaker 5 (01:55:13):
Yeah, god, that would be that's hundreds of millions.

Speaker 4 (01:55:18):
Just in your pocket. Yeah, you want the lump sum
or you want to do it monthly, give me that
lump Yeah, oh it's actually six percent text.

Speaker 5 (01:55:25):
Don't care. I'll take four hundred million.

Speaker 4 (01:55:28):
Yeah right there. Just imagine.

Speaker 5 (01:55:32):
That's what I like doing. I like imagining. I hate
all the people you've already been blow so all right, okay,
let me dream, all right, Let me dream.

Speaker 4 (01:55:40):
Sorry, you were super talented and hard working. It all
worked out for you.

Speaker 5 (01:55:42):
But let me get some luck as well. Yeah I
got six bucks in my pocket. Yeah, I want three tickets,
random numbers. I'll share it with you up front, buddy,
make friends with all at the quick trip out there.

Speaker 4 (01:55:53):
Yeah, you do got to break off whover bought you
those tickets.

Speaker 5 (01:55:57):
I think, well, I think they do. I think that
you know, who ever sells it, they get a cut
of it, not of yours. But like you know, the lottery,
I think.

Speaker 4 (01:56:04):
We need to look that up. When you look that up. Yeah, yeah,
all the really nice gases just like they won, they
want it.

Speaker 5 (01:56:11):
There's always like an incentive and then more then more
people will go there to buy the ticket, thinking there's
a lucky ticket.

Speaker 4 (01:56:16):
And it's never in like a busy area. It's always
like some right.

Speaker 5 (01:56:19):
Got to drive out in the middle of Yeah, somewhere.

Speaker 4 (01:56:22):
Might be a ball for us too. We just all
drive out three hours some random spot and buy a
But like a ten thousand were the lottery tickets. Could
you imagine I'm buying a plane, That's the first thing
I'm doing.

Speaker 5 (01:56:33):
I've thought about this, go ahead. I don't know if
i'd buy it or just would you just because think
about it. You know you're gonna spend seventy three million,
give your tab.

Speaker 4 (01:56:42):
I'm gonna get one that's about five six years old.
Oh really Yeah, because the appreciation is crazy.

Speaker 5 (01:56:46):
Yeah, more thirty forty thirty five. Well why don't you
just pocket that and then just have it on like
a golf stream, you know, whatever it is, and that
way you just charter it at whatever. You don't have
the upkeep pilots. I think there's something nice about having that,
But are you going to use it as much as
you think you are?

Speaker 4 (01:57:00):
If I'm still doing that, This.

Speaker 5 (01:57:01):
Is how deep I dove into this.

Speaker 4 (01:57:03):
Yeah, but think about this. You're sitting there, we're all
hanging out in your backyard. You own all the land,
and we're talking like, man, you know what, UF she's
going down to Miami tonight, and it's.

Speaker 5 (01:57:11):
Like, let me call my broker. No, let me call
my pilot.

Speaker 4 (01:57:14):
My pilot, Hey, get the jet ready, the boys are
coming over right now. Because a broker, it's like there's
a bunch of back and forth or running numbers on you,
all this stuff. You just call the guy, Hey, someone
you know yes, mister Matthews. And by the way, we
want sandwiches and I'm not paying to hundred dollars for
thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:57:29):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (01:57:31):
It's called the call pack.

Speaker 5 (01:57:33):
What happens here? Will? I don't know what are you mind?

Speaker 2 (01:57:38):
Oh? With the with the money?

Speaker 4 (01:57:39):

Speaker 2 (01:57:39):
Oh, I'd want to get a jet, the jets jet.

Speaker 1 (01:57:42):

Speaker 4 (01:57:46):
Bust it? What happened man? Bus? What happened jet?
