Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up, everybody? Welcome to Busting with the Boys. This
is the weekend recap show where we talk ball, we
talk everything. We are presented by the FanDuel Sportsbook, America's
number one sportsbook, and we are officially five days away,
five days away from one of the most important moments
in college football history history, Michigan versus Nebraska, the Busting Bull.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Now our friends at fandor are hooking the boys up
with Taylor Versus Will fifty percent profit Boost choken for
the game this Saturday. All you have to do is
head to fandel dot com Forward slash Busting, tap that
PBT and pick your winner. You go to the app,
you see Taylor versus. Will you draw a line in
the sand? Are you taking Michigan when he gets college
(00:48):
for a program of all time? Or Nebraska?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Some of you at home might be thinking of taking
but the rest of you are maybe thinking Nebraska.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Either way, you got to crack open your FanDuel sports
mak G app this Saturday and you got to grab
that Taylor Versus Will fifty percent Profit Boost token.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Head Thefanduel dot Com slash Busting to get started. So
we know how I feel. We know how Taylor feels.
How's the rest of the bus feeling. What's the rest
of the bus thinking? You know where there's who are
we tailing? Who are we fading? That's a fifty percent
(01:31):
profit boost token on this game, boys.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
And well, um, not to make you anything uncomfortable about
the situation, that's perfectly normal. But did you refuse to
say Michigan some of you who might be thinking and
then he paused.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Oh, I thought I said it, You know you said it. Yeah,
who are you.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Guys taking this week?
Speaker 3 (01:54):
I'm gonna ride with Nebraska.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Love it. Sure.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
The only thing that I'm worried about is what you're taking.
What just happened He refused to say Michigan. That's like
not shaking hands before the game. That doesn't turn out
so well. Sometimes that kind of scared me right there.
I am leaning Nebraska.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Okay, gee, mikes him.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
I'm gonna take the over in this game.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
That's that's the pacification of America that I'm taking Nebraska.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Good, he's in that, Willie tab.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
I'm taking the under. Same answers, that's not the same answer.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
You're taking the under in this.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
On the the prophet boost token. Will or Taylor.
Speaker 6 (02:44):
Right now, it's Nebraska. It's it's level change.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Based on what you know, what will That's that's why
what is this based on what's the spread right now?
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Three and a half, which it has been since the summer.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Buddy, I showed you the screenshot zoom in.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
When I saw that tweet, I thought, I know I
place this bet in June.
Speaker 7 (03:09):
I got him so at three and a half to Michigan.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Three and a half to Michigan. But I think at
this point right now it's a rival with game.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Let's just maybe it's moved.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
There are records at the window inver game like for me,
I mean, I believe this is a double digital win
for Michigan just from a mental standpoint. You see how
the fan base is already acting. Right, But I'll be
taking Michigan money line because the last thing you want
is to be a close game and then be upset
you lost as much money on about the bet.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I'm taking Nebraska minus two and a half. What I
would like to do is no, that's just what I'm taking.
Speaker 7 (03:37):
Oh you took it minus Nebraska minus two and a half.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
I will whenever it's available right now. The alternate lines
are not available, I'll.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Probably move now at one and a half. Oh, the
game is now at one and a half Michigan. This
is a pick them, dang, because Phil's three and a half.
Speaker 7 (03:51):
I was honestly gonna move it and do Nebraska plus
six and a half. But now it's a pick them.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
If you're looking at the promo happening on VANDU the
Willer Taylor, which one are you claiming? And it's like
they know to know.
Speaker 7 (04:08):
This last week has just shattered my I'm just I'm
everywhere with college football right now.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
For those of you who not just here for the
bust and Bowl, we do have to give teas and
ps to jackmar Fierson and JP Hovey. They went through
a lot, They went through a lot this weekend. So
thoughts and prayers with them and their family.
Speaker 7 (04:24):
Yeah, thank you, I guess for the sake of this
and in this moment, similar to Jack, I'll take Nebraska,
but I could go either way by the end of
the week.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Fun opportunity to see the boys on socials. Basically you're saying,
follow your socials. Yeah, exactly, you'll find out who you're
taking Saturday morning. Exciting stuff. Listen, this is the biggest
rivalry trophy game in sports. People know it, people are
aware of it. The Commissioner of College Football, Josh Pate,
he'll be talking about it the people at ESPN this Thursday.
(04:56):
Whether they like it or not, they're gonna be talking
about it.
Speaker 7 (04:59):
This is a game.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
This is a is is Michigan going to be who
we think they can be? And is Nebraska finally going
to turn the page towards better pastors? This is a
big defining game for both teams. Before we get into
the hate, the animosity, the back and forth, all of it,
it is our special boys birthday week. Let's give him
around of applause, and instead of waiting till Friday, when
(05:27):
I can only assume my CT brain will say something
that hits will the wrong way that I don't mean it,
but maybe I do mean it, and I want to backtrack,
but I can't backtrack. So instead of getting to a
point of animosity and the gift doesn't feel as good,
I think it's only good right now that I do
this on Monday morning, giving you your birthday gift.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Oh yeah, but you're really throwing me off with that one.
What I was going to say, is we are postponing
my birthday until this game is over, because this birthday
means nothing unless the Huskers get a w nothing.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Right, So your first gift, I have two gifts. My
boy's a big fan of two different franchises. The first
gift I got Will Compton for his thirty six birthday.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Thirty six I will be thirty six.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Man is a first edition print hardcover copy of Jurassic Park.
This book. Something about this book. So what I was
told about this book is is there's like first edition
copies and then there and then there's befour first edition
(06:34):
copies as well, where they essentially send them to the
bookstore and the bookstore reads it and they say, oh,
we like this book. This is how many copies we want.
This is that version of that book.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Very u.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
It's in great condition as well, the.
Speaker 7 (06:48):
Well over over under one hundred and thirty pages. You
think you're That's what the line is said at.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Oh me reading it?
Speaker 7 (06:54):
Yeah over a right.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
I'll knock this book not so fast, my friend. Because
keeping the same theme, because I know my boy every
every new year wants to read a little bit more,
I got him a first edition Star Wars George Lucas
Star Wars book and if you go to the front
page signed, this book is signed now George Lucas Lucas.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Let me look here.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Now, what I will say about this book is it's
not just about the franchise. You think about Little Ruined,
Little Scottie. Someday Will Coffon is going to leave this earth,
and he will. I don't know what he has to
pass down to his kids. He might lose it all
this weekend after the Bust and bull. So I want
him to have some things to give to his children
when he's over, and I feel like this is one
(07:47):
of those things Will and his will.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Hey, these are awesome. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
You're very welcome.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Thanks guys, thank you. I put a lot of that
was a lot of put into that. Let's talk about
college football. Michigan Nebraska. Listen, they both did really well
against their opponents. Bryce Underwood, you see that the game plan,
that's the game plan. That's the game plan new Us.
If you want to be successful in this era of
college football, you can't run the ball. In thirty and
six versus Oklahoma and Oklahoma they learned a valuable lesson.
(08:18):
I feel really good about that Nebraska. I think they're
like number one pass defense in all of college football
right now. They're up. They're up there in several categories.
Let's look past who they played, Let's look past that.
I think the record they played against is like two
and six. But they look good. Dylan Mayl looks good.
He needs more on national notoriety. If he takes over
(08:39):
this win and he plays well, I think he's gonna
get it.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
I think he needs to be in the Heisman conversation.
I bet, I mean yeah, I look at him statistically,
I say that, you know, with the fullhard zero bias. Right.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Houston Christian and Akron were the last two teams they played.
Let's let's talk about the game of the weekend, which
unfortunately was Georgia tennis. My my feeling of a jack was,
it's twenty one seven. You're feeling really good. Joey Aigiler
is the guy, you know. Twenty four hours after this
game takes place, you say, his head coach gets fired.
(09:11):
Nico is in an absolute blender over there in Pasadena, California.
But get to the end of the game, you guys
kind of forget how to play football a little bit.
Gunnar Stockton. They they did what they said he'd do.
They kept at vanilla, and all of a sudden, this
dude is ripping it all over the yard, hitting it vertical.
Talks about them like taking long sustaining drives, and it's
like they just really put their put their meat on
(09:33):
the table and handled it. That kicker, That kicker, to me,
is like you saw it in his face before the kick,
and I know you were there. Were you there? You
weren't there, so you saw the TV copt you could
see the kicker mentally in a blender. I'll i'll I digress.
I'll let you have your words.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
I mean, everyone's expecting some long drawn out, pissed off speech.
I have a few things written down.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Titans charger, you you said most of it.
Speaker 6 (10:06):
I mean, Joey Aguilari is the guy that that's a
very positive key from the game and so far the season.
I mean, three hundred and seventy plus yards Chris Brazil,
he was truly unguardable. He had one hundred and seventy
seven yards three TVs. It felt like old Tennessee football.
Nyland was rocking. Um Yeah, dude, game winner. You just
(10:31):
gotta you just gotta hit the kick. You just gotta
hit the kick. And we folded in the end, and
to lose an overtime sucks. But I don't know if
I'm ready to say this out loud, but like it's
something that people are talking about, and I will eventually
get there. I think I just need like twenty four
more hours to really let it all just feel. Yeah,
(10:54):
but Tennessee can't play with anyone in the country. That
was shown. Can they win though, with anyone in the country.
Who knows? But we we just got some big games
we gotta win coming up. There's never been like a
positive atmosphere after a loss like this. I mean this
is truly one of, like probably the hardest losses for
(11:15):
Tennessee fans that has ever existed. I mean, nine in
a row is brutal and against Georgia and Kirby smarts
out there on the field afterwards, like, oh, we didn't
play our best game, and like, of course, like what
you could coach speak, like what are you gonna say, like, yeah,
like they should have won that game. No, but Joey
Aguilar is a dog. Uh, we have weapons. And then
(11:37):
there's a lot of confidence around the team It's just
like sucks when it's so close right there. I mean,
so many opportunities and you just gonna.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Hit that kick.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
And then Gilbert goes out in overtime, it hits the
exact same kick, and then first play of ot for
Georgia twenty one yard rush. It's already over. So yeah yeah,
and then the Titans say, hold on, you know how good.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Yeah, we'll we'll come back to you on that.
Speaker 6 (12:05):
I don't know much say about Titans.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Does it make you feel a little bit better that
maybe George like either Tennessee is really good or maybe
George is not the powerhouse, like a little more.
Speaker 6 (12:15):
You almost want Georgie to be a powerhouse, so that
loss means something you don't want Georgia like go and
take a bad loss because you're like, oh wow, Tennessee
they couldn't even give an overtime. So again, there's positives
to come from the game. I just can't find them
in my heart.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
What you guys have a dog at receiver?
Speaker 6 (12:34):
Yeah, Chris Brows is sick. Mike Matthews is great. Running
backs are great, just you know, you just got to
clean it up.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Your line protected real well all day.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
But that.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Crazy kill.
Speaker 6 (12:47):
That's I mean, you can place the boy on a
lot of people, but yeah, that false start hurts. It
definitely backs him up. That kicker is I just saw
a tweet. It looks like or I would say, uh,
Tennessee's kicker looks like he's about to go storm the
beaches of Normandy and so he should have died there
(13:08):
if he was there. But I I truly feel bad
for him walking pedestrian walkway, which is like our main
strip in Knoxville today because there are some crazy Tennis
Sea fans way crazier than me. They would like physically
assault that guy if they saw him on campus. So
I really hope that he's gotten a little bit of
sleep because you just can imagine. I haven't imagine. He
(13:31):
has like a huge test this week in school, like
you know, student athlete, student first, you're fucked.
Speaker 7 (13:38):
You can't even take it.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
So you can't even take the test in class, get
in the bus, can't sit here?
Speaker 6 (13:42):
Yeah not here, man eat alone.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
God I for his mental I really hope. So, yeah,
there was a story that will references a lot a
lot about my college days. This kid, the long Snapper,
like twenty fifteen, had a bad snap against Michigan State.
We're to win the game. They end up, you know,
messing it up in Michigan State falls in the ball
scorts touchdown. That kid had to transfer because he was
(14:05):
getting death threats. Like that's the kind of.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Against Auburn that kid never even seen or heard of him.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
Again, Yeah right, he might be dead locked. They got
just locked up somewhere.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
It's I felt bad for you. I felt bad for
Tennessee fans for it to be and kneeling too, Like,
you guys did everything you possibly could to deserve and
win that game. Gunner stocked and showed up, the receiver
room took off, and then that's.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
What Pet would say. Pet kept talking about the perimeter
players on Georgia, like if you give him an opportunity,
they're going to take advantage. Yeah. I think it was
an awesome game.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
You guys, one shots down field, the explosives.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
You guys hit, the game plan to win the game.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:51):
The thing that makes me the most upset is like
I can't enjoy how good of a college football game
that is because of my bias. But like, truly that
matches up with Tennessee Alabama in twenty twenty two, like
it just didn't go our way, and most likely if
we hit that kick Kneeland, they're storing the field, which
(15:12):
I did not want, but I would have I would
have been thrilled about it. But here we are, well Tennessee,
We're gonna move on, and it's there's confidence in the program.
We just gotta clean stuff up.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Is there confident? Or you had something else? I just
had one thing.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Do you from a silver lining standpoint, do you feel
good that you called it called? I mean you said
the whole week? Okay, No, I'm just saying I don't.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Know why you looked at me.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
You're seeing you're seeing that you saw the called it?
Thank you? Taylor. Well, I don't know. You kept saying
he said that Thursday night, said Wednesday morning.
Speaker 6 (15:46):
So I am one hundred percent taking Nebraska this week.
One hundred percent.
Speaker 7 (15:50):
Now, yeah, I tried to.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
It was in the first chinks.
Speaker 6 (15:54):
It didn't work.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
It was just onward. Is there speaking of confidence? Is
their confidence? Is there is their confidence with South Carolina? JP?
Speaker 2 (16:09):
You know you know JP? You know feels good?
Speaker 1 (16:13):
What was that thirty one seven? Yeah? I do wish?
Uh Lawrence or Leonora Sellers was healthy, he gets taken out,
but even even if he's even if he's playing, Vanderbilt
seem to put a good show on that South Carolina defense.
Speaker 7 (16:28):
Definitely, Vanderbilt's game plan was awesome. Running the play clock
down to one before you snap the ball every single dry,
every single play exhausting. Exhausting is the exhausting as a fan,
exhausting as a coach, exhausting as a player. Like it
because it makes the game kind of boring to watch too,
regardless of if you're a fan of either team, but
(16:48):
it works and you know why they do it. They
also have a lot of really good players, players they
haven't had in the past. But to your Cad, Cad
was balling, he was I tearrord. Caden immediately sends me
a selfie in the locker room with one of his teammates,
which is too hard emojis, I say, Kate McConnell is
want to know in Kate McConnell eight weeks But dude,
(17:11):
it was the only time I ever have a problem
with South Carolina is when I feel like the team
isn't playing inspired and energetic and like they want to
be out there, and I just I felt like when
Sellers went out, guys were not flying around how they
flew around in the first two games. And that's the
only part. All I asked for from players is effort.
(17:34):
Every play. You can make mistakes, you can make it.
You could have the worst game of your life. But
if you're trying and you're giving it, you're all I'm in.
I'm okay with the loss. Yeah, But with all that
being said, I gotta recalibrate my approach to the year.
(17:54):
Are we gonna go eleven and one?
Speaker 3 (17:57):
We could?
Speaker 7 (17:59):
Does this make the story of the season that much better?
Speaker 1 (18:03):
It does?
Speaker 7 (18:04):
But we gotta focus on Monday. We gotta focus on Tuesday.
We gotta focus on Missouri. I'm thinking we're not gonna
see Luke Dody at quarterback this week going into Missouri
because I think Sellers is out again. Aaron Nolan, Ohio
State's backup last year, is on our team. There's a
reason we got him in the portal. So I'm hopeful
because I know we got guys, I know we got dogs,
(18:26):
and I know the coaching staff. I hate the doomsday
South Carolina fans. Shane Biemer is the fastest coach to
thirty wins in program history. He beat Spurrier, he beat
Lou Holtz. He's the guy. I trust the staff, and
I just I need the fan base to do the same.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
How do you feel about that?
Speaker 8 (18:44):
Like targeting call that got call or they blew the
whistle after they snapped the ball.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah, yeah, he was.
Speaker 7 (18:55):
Which done like it can change the game. And it
was frustrating because I also feel about for the Vandy kid.
I feel like it should have been more of maybe
a roughing the passer than a targeting. But man, that
was I understand why Beamer was so pissed because and
if you're a backup quarterback, Yeah, they had five ten minutes, bro.
(19:18):
And then we did get to a little bit of
peak of Nick Harbor returning a kick. I don't know
if y'all saw it, but he took it from the
very back of the end zone and just range straight
to the fifty yard line, like striding. I'd stand up
off the.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Couch, like standing off the couch.
Speaker 7 (19:34):
He about to go all the way right now. But
because we've been waiting to see that, everybody has.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
It's gonna be tough too.
Speaker 7 (19:41):
Yeah, Missouri's good.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
It's a good ball club, is it in Missouri. Yeah,
that's a good ball club.
Speaker 7 (19:45):
But that's the best part about the SEC schedule, about
we get you have so many opportunities turn your season around,
and it can all change. On one Saturday, we went
we beat Missouri. This game doesn't matter, It's on to
the next. We have momentum all of a sudden.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Do you think we all kind of.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Do we think we underestimated Vanderbilt this year?
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Yeah, for sure. I think could be. They could be.
Speaker 7 (20:10):
I couldn't.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
I think there's still I think we still have to
see more from Vanderbilt more. Here's why. Here's why because
between Vanderbilt South Carolina and then they had another common
opponent with Virginia Tech. You have Virginia Tech playing South
Carolina tough in Atlanta. That was an open Week one
football game. But it's like, hey, Virginia Tech, that's a
tough team. It seemed like South Carolina played played well
(20:34):
enough to get the dub. Vandy struggled with Virginia Tech
in the first half, then beat the breaks off from
the second half. But still it's like, hey, that's a
tough game. It's really setting up this Vanderbilt South Carolina game.
Then you see what happens this is Vanderbilt South Carolina game,
and then you see what happened to Virginia Tech against
Old Dominion. They got destroyed. Coaches, the coach got fired.
Coach got fired. So it's like, yeah, Prie, he gets fired.
(20:59):
So it's like, uh, I don't know. I don't know
with with South Carolina, I don't know. With Vanderbilt. I
feel like Vanderbilt looks they look a lot better. I
think Clark Lee deserves a ship to the credit. People
love him, the culture he has, he seems like he
seems like the guy, like a really good coach in
this league.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
But you're saying the test that they had this week
might not have been the test actually just because of
their common.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Right, Because when I looked in that I saw the
v Tech score and then you see what happens where
he gets fired. I'm just like, man, I wonder if
Vandy I kind of have the same question mark with LSU.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Yeah, yeah, I think you said.
Speaker 7 (21:32):
I think you said.
Speaker 5 (21:33):
Though, Clark Lee, like since he's been at Vandy has
changed the culture fast. He has got he's brought guys
in through the portal and he knows his team well
enough and knows how to game plan well enough that
they stick to it.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
And it obviously works.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Like yeah, yeah, I'm with.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
All it one second, Like mind game in the first half,
it's like they've ever looked on the offensive. One's just
got to respond with like an equal test, like against him,
they match up.
Speaker 7 (22:05):
That play style matches up really well against us, like
in our defense, because we want the guys to be
throwing the ball, we want to have opportunities to force mistakes. Vanderbilt,
the only time they're going to make a mistake is
if Pavia just decides to be an idiot. But like,
I think they do match up well against US, and
they might not match up well against the defense has
built differently.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Who does Vandy got this week?
Speaker 2 (22:28):
Yeah, let's look that up. While we're looking that up,
let's get into LSU Florida man bro five interceptions on
the day. Billy Napier's not feeling good. He's definitely on
the hot seat right now.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
So good about that game too, Like picking Florida plus
seven and a half.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Yeah, I mean you had, I mean you had the
logic behind what you were saying, is right, Like give
me the hungry dog, give me the wounded animal. And
I think, like, well, but it's like, now we're going
to play with Florida. It's like, Okay, you pressed, this
is your five star guy that was your favorite? Is
he the guys? He's not the guy. He's feeling the
same pressure that we're saying right now. So does he
start to press? And it's like you go from that
(23:03):
six week run last year where like Napier like went
from hot seat guy to oh no, this is our
guy to now it's like, I don't see a world
where Florida can kind of right this ship.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
I don't either, because I think Liveway is gonna have
the yips, Like you throw five picks like that, you're
just you start getting in your head. Yeah you know
what I mean.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
You three picks, you're in your hands sometimes too. Yeah,
And in fact you had five and like Buddy, some
of them were just you notice, I can't We've seen
the way I throw a ball, but it's like those
decisions those balls were not can't have them, can't have them.
And then you look at ls students, like Okay, LSU's
a three and oh for the first time since twenty nineteen,
they either're winning games. They played two ranked up Florida
(23:42):
wasn't ranked, but they played two opponents that are like,
this is gonna be big games.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
They played against a really good defense. Florida's got a
good defense.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
And you look at the defense from like year one
of Brian Kelly the year three. Now it's like, oh,
they are like a top ten defense. They look incredible.
But then Garrettnusmyern the boys on the other side of
the ball, they can't figure out a way to get
to push the ball to the field, and it's like,
when does that exposure happened? Which kind of brings us
back to the Vanderbilt question is like are they real?
(24:11):
Because who's really the owner of the SEC right now?
Alabama had that forest, Georgia, you know, Georgia survives Tennessee.
Vanderbilt kind of just like looks like the most steady
program right now. No, I'm something of the SEC. Organ
looks good. They didn't cover. They didn't cover. Are they
(24:33):
who we thought?
Speaker 1 (24:33):
There?
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Are the Ducks who we thought they were? I don't
think so. I don't know, but yeah, it's it's a
big one. Who Okay, go back, go back to Vanderbilts.
Where's the dates here?
Speaker 1 (24:47):
So they got Georgia State this week Georgia So then
October fourth that Bama. That'll be that'll be a great game.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
That'll be great.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
They got they got from Bama. They got Bama l
s you Missoo, Texas and Auburn.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
That's a gauntlet. Kentucky yountlet right there, right, Hugh Freeze, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (25:11):
He's under is undefeated against Freeze.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
And what's his name, coach Kill? Yeah, Jerry Kill. People
talk Kylie him too, but man.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Yeah, like you don't I just don't know. You just
don't know what the sec right now, which has got it?
Like if you are a Tennessee fan, or you're a
South Telphant, or you're a Bama fan, like you gotta
kind have in a good spot because you're like this
one lot is not gonna we solve an opportunity to
all the things are still in front of.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Us and then go ahead.
Speaker 7 (25:36):
I was just gonna this is kind of separate from them.
But like Arkansas is gonna be very good either by
the end of this year or next year. They're gonna
have a squad that's competing at the top.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
I didn't catch are you talking about the hell the
way they performed against Ole Miss. Yeah, don't they have
a quarterback.
Speaker 7 (25:52):
Yeah, Taylor Green, He's he's super athletic. But Patrina and Pittman,
I think they're gonna cook something.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
I was gonna say my question mark with l s
U two again, it's like, you beat Florida by ten
and you had five interceptions like they were I want
to say, LS you might have turned the ball over
one time, so you're what.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
Your plus your plus four in the turn your plus.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Four the turnover margin, and you only beat Florida by
ten points. Florida's lost to the us F Like Florida
obviously they just lost.
Speaker 7 (26:22):
L s U.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
And then you look at LSU. It's like, oh, is
this going to be the team this year? Because they
opened with Clemson and beat Clemson in a good game,
but then Clemson just goes it gets handled.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
By Georgia Tex example, you gave about Virginia Tech. Yeah, really,
who has LSU played this year?
Speaker 7 (26:39):
Right?
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Like?
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Are they going to be for real? So I feel
like LSU is a little bit on that that that fraud,
that fraud watching by the way, I think, uh, the
Weeks brothers just absolute psychopaths.
Speaker 7 (26:50):
The youngest one.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Yeah, and he's I can't believe he's out there pre
snap like talking ship, like you see his head going
up and down.
Speaker 7 (26:57):
Like.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
This family is just a bunch of from the Louisiana.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
They're all just like they love.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
I think their dad played at Georgia and they have
a brother that is either at Georgia or George playing
at Georgia. Yeah, big Georgia ties somewhere. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
I look at this tops on like you gotta make
sure this is in the This is.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
In there all cycles. And by the way, that targeting
call on wit Weeks was bullshit. Did you happen to
see that hit?
Speaker 2 (27:25):
I didn't, Bro.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
This is just a regular tackle, Bro, And the receiver
was kind of going down and was coming across the
middle and he just kind of hits him like this,
like a sideline tackle, and the receiver kind of puts
it down, but he engages with his helmet. They kick
him out of the game. He's out of the game
in like the first quarter, and he is going nuts
on the sideline. Little Bro ends up getting in and
he's just talking ship before the still.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Image right there is the problem culture. Yeah, yeah, I
look at that, Bro, crazy, and that's just the pursuit
drill too, Like that wasn't a catch bang tackle, Like
he caught the ball and he's just pursued to the sideline. Right.
Speaker 7 (27:58):
Brian Kelly was like, I don't know if the youngest
with Week's brother played well, but he played with a
whole lot of energy.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
What's going on. He might not have known anything he
was doing, but he's like, fuck it, I'm gonna go
psych though.
Speaker 7 (28:10):
That's that's all I'm asking.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Yeah, the we gotta have a moment of silence for
a boy, Shane Gillis.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
That's all.
Speaker 8 (28:19):
Really.
Speaker 7 (28:19):
They're still ranked.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Love you, Shane, Love you Shane.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
I mean what a shootout? Yeah, they're ranked for the
first time. Something we said in the pre production, like
nineteen eighty seven something like that. Michigan went oh in
too and they were still ranked. It's just kind of
you know this team too.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
They're gonna win out and they're gonna be in the
conversation with the cost Well.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Yeah, at the end of the year, and it really
depends like like games not really, dude, No, the rest
the rest of their schedule.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Is their hardest game right now is USC But outside
of that, it's you.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
You see the kind of nice was Purdue? It look
kind of nice.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
I know it's for due. I understand, right, USC could
be a good team this year, But I'm saying USC
is all they really got left. You got Purdue, Arkansas,
Boise State, NC State, USC, Boston College, Navy, Pit, Syracuse,
and Stanford.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
Yeah. I guess, like the conversation, I don't know a
whole lot. I'm not familiar with Arkansas's bag, but you
guys are saying that's gonna be a little dog fight too.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Definitely scroll up though, Which is so if they get
a double digit win there and they handle USC, I
can see how they'll be in that cot Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Yeah, especially if USC stays ranked, because the USC is
only twenty five right now. It's gonna do you need
a top twenty five win if you're gonna be an
independent school. But it's the logo touchdown Jesus. They have
religion on their side. Like, there's a lot of things
going for them, and the rest of their schedule is
I mean, they're through it. They're through the hardest part
of their schedule.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
They should have lost when they fumbled that snap for
the extra point and the cover was was ruined from.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
That time when they're marked. When A and M is
margining on the field, they have a penalty and I
think a penalty should have gotten called in that left
guard like that seemed like a holding call and he
throws it a little back shoulders at the end of
the game, at the linebacker with his shoulders turned, It's like, bro,
how do you let that happen?
Speaker 5 (30:05):
Why?
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Cokey Riley?
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Is that who?
Speaker 7 (30:10):
That is?
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Cokie Riley and.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
Two Notre Dame ranked at number ten in his AP pulse.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Probably did stay off the Cokki a little bit. That's
a little crazy.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
I don't understand this AP stuff we were talking about.
Obviously been a big conversation over the last week. You
see Josh Peyton calling everybody out. You see that uh
that gal, Yeah, that gal saying you know, who did
she have ranked?
Speaker 7 (30:33):
Wasn't it like, uh was like Texas super high or
like it was, but.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
She had Florida ranked over somebody that had just beat Florida.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
I believe, Oh that's right us F Yeah, yeah, well
did you?
Speaker 7 (30:48):
I was the report true on Notre Dame was like,
we're ready to join that acc or big ten if
there's a sixteen team playoff.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
I saw that. I just didn't know if it was real. Yeah,
because you don't know what's real out there. You see that,
you see that, uh.
Speaker 7 (31:03):
No Sweet at like midnight, I think like goes out like.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
You see that No three Sports Twitter account just doing
just real trolling, like just making stuff up. And then
you got Nico. It's about like Nico and u c
l A and the Nico's dads and their dms. What
do you know they're in the dms And it's like
this reporter said this, and the reporters like I've never
said that in my life, Like this is wrong, this
is all fake. So I never know what to believe
(31:29):
on the internet. God coach bro who was head coach
at u c l A.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
So the u c l A head coach gets fired.
They went back to his press conference. Did you guys
see that clip Buddy talk about not having any stage
presence at all?
Speaker 1 (31:46):
You talking about when he got hired.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
When he got hired, you see it, he's like, basically,
I'm just the longest ball is be like, basically I'm
really excited. Yeah, it's like that's the leader of menu.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Even after the game. This past week, as I'm like,
why he's the man for the jobs I can get
these is to play for me. And it's like, you're
getting your.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
N last week. What are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (32:05):
You're three right now?
Speaker 7 (32:06):
Yeah, you Arizona killed them, did y'all see?
Speaker 2 (32:09):
What?
Speaker 8 (32:10):
So, because that the Virginia Tech and u c l
A coach got fired, the transfer portal for those two teams.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
Open up immediately for the next thirty days.
Speaker 8 (32:20):
Right, the next thirty days, it's open. And I read
this article. I read this article. They I think that
these like Nico could transfer and he could immediately start playing.
They haven't played four games, because they haven't played four games,
so they can these guys can Like Virginia Tech and
UCLA might not have a football team at the end
(32:41):
of the year because like not enough guys, because all
these guys are going to transfer, and like they this
could it's like all like fine print stuff, But there's
a chance that these guys like could be able to play.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
Receivers in Virginia's excite that. I love to have an
amazing blue Nico. You gotta get got a couple of
receivers now, I wouldn't mind having.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
I don't know, I don't know where you go, but
I'm just I'm just thinking, clearly, you made the wrong
choice going to u c l A.
Speaker 8 (33:08):
Quarterback Nico said he's stepping away from the team to
like focus on his like mental health. He's not even
playing this week.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Is that real?
Speaker 7 (33:16):
No?
Speaker 3 (33:16):
That is I thought that was real.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
That's from the No. Three sports bro.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
No, trust me.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
I had to click like five extra time to see
if that stuff was real because he was saying that
a reporter that covers u c l A was saying
that the reporters like quote tweeting and everything saying like
this is this is false, Like this has never been said.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
But dude, Nico, like you see a lot of these
transfer portal guys like Joey Adler starts at app State
really did have a whole lot of development. Then he
goes to UCLA. Then he gets into the Tennessee at
like this massive program. Nico. You see the Five Stars
to man where they go, They go to Tennessee, then
it's UCLA. The next stop for him is like cal Pauly, like.
Speaker 5 (33:59):
The same thing.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Yeah, Kay, who's still in college? That is crazy? Yeah.
Friend of the Show. Friend of the Show, okay, but.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Hey did the calendar winning, Oh Senior parlay, you needed Caldary, Minnesota?
Speaker 2 (34:13):
You know who fucking talks to me too? That too.
The probably was already dead because I took Notre Dame
money line. But the Midland Boys they were at Red
Rock this weekend. They're playing at Red Rock and they
we're all texting about plays, and Mark's like, if there's
one player I love, it's Minnesota versus calend was like,
oh yeah, okay, jumping that with you.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Minnesota money line over cal Y. Yeah. Yeah, them playing
in cal was like I just saw it last year. Bro, Like,
anytime you're traveling across the coast, like it's it never
it's brutal.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
That's why Stanford they got to switch up everything that
they were doing. But yeah, Minnesota's got a little defensive
linement number zero. He's nasty, buddy.
Speaker 7 (34:46):
I swear they always got a zero, so they always do.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Minnesota has always got like one or two guys. You're like,
how the fuck did he slipped to the Gophers.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 7 (34:57):
Yeah, yeah, speaking of trolling, were about to move on
real quick. Will Muschamp, his son plays at Vanderbilt, and
he takes this selfie. Mind you, we paid this man
fifteen million in a buyout. He comes into Williams Brice,
whoops us with his son, takes the selfie with his
kid and says dogs indoors and tweets it out. Bro,
(35:20):
I reported it so fast and it's still there. You
should like it.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Paid this man fifteen million.
Speaker 7 (35:27):
It should have been in that contract, like, hey, you
can never come back in this stadium and tweet no less. Yeah,
like take his phone, confiscate the phone.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Hey, you know about people not being allowed in the facility.
You see Bill Belichick a un see no he uh
this might be an on three situation, like take this
excuse me podcast, no disrespect to on three. He was
doing a press conference and there was a report that
the Patriots scouts were not allowed a u n C.
And his reasoning for that is, well, I'm not allowed
(35:58):
on the facility. So because of that, they're not allowed
in our facility.
Speaker 7 (36:03):
It's like, Bill, say goodbye to your players.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Tell your girl to stop running your life. Like these
players want to get drafted and there's only thirty two
of them. Don't take you tell one team they can't
go in. That's it's it's bad. Got his first dub though,
Hey arch Manning Texas, but it's like it's almost heartbreaking
to talk about.
Speaker 6 (36:23):
Is arch Manning good?
Speaker 2 (36:25):
I think Jimmie Clump said shoulder injury, and it seems
like he has a shoulder injury.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
I haven't watched I haven't watched him play much since
we were at the Ohio State game. Like I see
the clips like of him wincing last week, and then
I just really saw the stat line and everybody's comments
on it from their game against U TEP. I have
no clue. It seems like he's not the best thrower
in the world. It also sounds like he's injured.
Speaker 6 (36:46):
Was it seven three in the third quarter.
Speaker 4 (36:48):
Or it's so going into halftime? It was seven to
three and then Texas gotta turnover. They were able to
get some points right before half. But there was a
point in the game where arch went, uh oh for eleven.
I believe for eleven.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
Now did you see these throws? I know he has
like he's like having it's like accuracy issues.
Speaker 3 (37:10):
He's probably got the yips, but you could.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Have I feel like the only logical explanation is shoulder injury.
It's got to be something because bro By Heisman front runner,
you can't be the generational first overall high school player.
Like something something has to be wrong, like and that's
where you got to kind of sit back and give
a little grace because it's like, there's no way he's
(37:35):
this he's this bad, no something.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
When we were at the Ohio State game and we're
on the Texas sideline, like somebody told us we haven't
felt this good about a quarterback since Colt McCory, right, And.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
If you the only way you feel that way is
if you're at the practice and you see what he's
capable of doing. So something has had to have happened.
I mean, like I don't know why. At what point
does Sarkisian come out and be like, hey, yes he's
got an issue, But it's like your stark.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
Won't you been hearing those He's like who told you?
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Did he say that?
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (38:04):
Then he's not hurt and you're just like, but if
you're if you're playing UTEP like that and you're I mean,
you're supposed to win the SEC you're first, You're you're Texas,
Like eventually you've got to come out and be like
he's been hurt. But if you wait till like week
ten or week nine, it's like then it's like, hey,
(38:24):
the excuses are kind of over right. And if and
and this is just one like viewpoint is, if you're
Sark and these players come in and play for you,
they want to feel like you're going to protect him
in their time of need. If Arch Manning is hurt, you, like,
he's not gonna come out and say he's a team guy.
He comes from the Manning blood line where it's everything's
always on them. But like players want to feel protected
(38:47):
by their coaches, and it's not going to be Arch
to go and say that. It's got to be Sark
to be like, listen, he's dealing with something. It's obviously
very clear when you see it. But like you know,
it's not like they're in a position to win the SEC.
They are in a position still, but like that's the
way it's going. It's not going to happen.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Nico could transfer there and do what just chaos, just chaos.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
Could you imagine Nico in Texas all of a.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Sudden more money, somehow got more money. Miami and Carson back.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Yeah, Miami did what we thought they do to us
F Yeah, I thought we sold high. We sold high,
We sold high. You took Miami, right, yeah, Miami, Yeah
we all did. We all did all right? Good because
it Yeah, you sneak up on Florida, You sneak up
on Boys State.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
You can't.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
You can't sneak up a third time. Yeah, you can't
sneak up a third time.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Miami's gonna be tough.
Speaker 2 (39:40):
Man.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
I'm excited about Miami and Florida State. Florida State's nice body, Yeah.
Speaker 8 (39:47):
I know.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
I just feel like they're seeing the way Bama again.
It's like the Bama the freak out that happened after
the Bama game and justified like the effort issues and
loafs and stuff like that. Absolutely, But now that you
see Bama take care of business since Florida State, it's like, oh,
maybe maybe Florida State is just a badass football team.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
Yeah, Coator Tony White, Tony White, Terrence Knight and Night.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
All the transfer guys they had and were able to
like make those guys gel together that quickly.
Speaker 7 (40:21):
I mean, that's yeah, something that was getting floated out
with Carson Beck because you know how everyone's like, man,
Carson Beck has really turned it on. He needed a
just like a fresh start at Miami. The receivers at
Miami are awesome. He finally has a good receivers room.
Georgia's receiver receiver room was never bad. Is it a
play of like you're playing against a lot worse secondaries
(40:44):
in the ACC And is Carson Beck as good as
everybody thinks he is? Or is he just was he
like an average SEC quarterback that moves to the ACC
and now looks dominant.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
Georgia did lead the I think damn near the f
and drops.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
Yeah, like they didn't have a bad room, but statistically
they had like they had the most drops. So they
guys were dropping.
Speaker 7 (41:10):
With another quarterback and I can't remember who it was.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
Because they they had like they had the room. And
even this year Georgia went out and got and he
had a little breakout game over the weekend against yeah
Branch that came to Yeah, he was a five star
cat and he had a big game, but he was
We need one of those, bro and number number three
that runs the ball for Georgia.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
I like him, but it's there isn't there running back room, like.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
Just insane running. But three specifically.
Speaker 7 (41:38):
I like him.
Speaker 2 (41:39):
Yeah, the kid had a twenty one yard got like.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Mark Ingram style build, seems fast as shit, tough as ship. Yeah,
and guys were thumping in that game both sides of
the ball too.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
Yeah. Maybe it just didn't Maybe it just didn't work
like right, and it's nobody's fault. It just didn't work
out the way it was. The pressure got a little
much for Carson. The receivers a lot of drops like right,
both can be true.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
And change the scenery can really help somebody out.
Speaker 7 (42:06):
But it's kind of like, I guess the quarterback I'm
thinking of what is Kate is? Like cad Club Nick
was supposed to be one of the best quarterbacks in
the country. They had him as one of the best
last year, supposed to be one of the best this year.
But he's zero and four against good teams. But he
runs up numbers in the ACC, right, So that's it's like,
is a Carson Becca?
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (42:27):
A lot of teams are looking a lot better because
the teams that they're playing, right, Yeah, is one of
those guys. Do you guys want to get to the NFL?
Speaker 1 (42:36):
Yeah, would love to. I just also want to say
again Oregon did not cover against Northwestern.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
Yeah, do we want let's and they give up a
garbage fourth quarter touchdown.
Speaker 1 (42:46):
They did hit on the back door cover.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
The back door cover is nasty.
Speaker 1 (42:50):
It's you know, like the Northwestern coach allegedly texted me
and said, I fucking told you the fridge fridge with
his hip.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
Yeah, like Dan, and it needs to get a handle
on his players, like to have you got to play
sixty minutes. You can't just play forty five. Yeah, Like
you got to get in there and you gotta get going.
This is this is a sixty minute game. You play
like that. Let that's the kind of shit bleed in
When you play the big dogs, you're gonna run into
some missions. And so a little bit of warning from
the boys to the Northwest, like, let's dial it in, Dan.
Speaker 8 (43:19):
Did y'all see north Welladay Stadium? Did y'all see Northwestern?
But I told you it's a park that I'm pretty
sure I played in better stadiums in D three than
what their stadium is.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
Right now, it's beautiful though it's sick.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
It's beautiful.
Speaker 3 (43:32):
It's so sick on the lake.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
You're like, man, the folio is really nice.
Speaker 8 (43:35):
There's like five thousand people that can fit in there.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
Like it's not Yeah, it's not very big, dude.
Speaker 2 (43:40):
Yeah that that's that's a that is a Texas high
school football.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
Team right there. And it's always a home game for
the away team. Like when Nebraska went there. Uh, Northwestern
had to go on silent count because the Big Red
was so loud.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
Northwestern is the Vader Belgiab of the Big Ten.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
But I we did so.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
Uh was it the fourth preseason game when they used
to have those We played the Bears in a fourth
preseason game and like the bunch of the starters were playing.
So we went to Northwestern's facilities to get a workout
and do some conditioning, some drills and stuff like that.
Their facility is small, but it's like really nice. Like
it's glass windows everywhere. It looks over the lake. It
(44:20):
is beautiful and you can't you're not going to be
successful with the glass windows. You want gritty damn. That's well.
The stadium is different facility. We were trading everything. You
want a little grid in there, you want a little grills.
Speaker 1 (44:37):
Before we go into the NFL again, we briefly touched
on it and I get tensions or high. But how
are you feeling about the bust and ball?
Speaker 2 (44:43):
Yeah, I feel it's confident. I can possibly be more.
I feel as confident as I did in twenty twenty three.
That's how I feel.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
Do you really?
Speaker 2 (44:50):
Yeah? I do. I think. First off, Biff pog him
being the interim head coach. I love him. I love
his postgame press confidence. I love the way Bryce Underwood played.
I when I look at the loss to Oklahoma, I look,
I you know, unfortunately I look at the game plan like, well,
that wasn't a winning formula. That wasn't a formula to
look at you like you. Dave said this, and I
said it last week after Dave said it, is that
(45:11):
that was a game plan and not get embarrassed, like
not knowing who you had a quarterback opening it up against,
you know, the Chippewas Central Michigan. It's like you see
the operation, you see the plane. It's like, Okay, we
still got the players to get things done. That's how
I feel. How about you?
Speaker 1 (45:26):
I feel good.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
I think you guys performed really well bouncing back after Oklahoma.
I think I'm just excited to see us like this
is the first like this is conference play. We're gonna
get our first test.
Speaker 1 (45:35):
You guys operated this last game in a way to
where it's like, Okay, you're gonna get a fistfight coming
in here. You want you want to see how we're
going to play against Bryce Underwood is feeling confident. I'm nervous,
like I'm excited for the potential that this team could
have this year. Like we beat the breaks off of
these last two schools. They were nobodies. But in the past,
we've never had you go in the halftime. We might
(45:56):
be up on a team and then you might put
up ten or thirteen in the second half. I feel like,
no matter whether the starters go back out there or
the backups go out there, the standard has stayed the standard.
And that's what I've loved to see. And it's like, yeah,
we we toughed out a win against Cincinnati, And then
you look at how Sowersby's played since playing Nebraska. I
think he threw for sixty seven yards against US. Now
(46:17):
he's throwing for like five hundred and eighty and eight touchdowns.
He's somebody who can beat you with their legs, which again,
Bryce presents a huge challenge with that I'm just excited.
It's like, man, do we got a really good secondary?
Do we I know we're playing well defensively, We've been
playing some cupcake schools. We've handled everybody the way you
want a good team to handle these teams, like, hey,
doesn't matter who's rolling out there, this is the standard.
(46:39):
So I've loved seeing that. And it's more of like
I'm nervous because man, this this is a fucking huge
game for our season.
Speaker 2 (46:45):
It's very difficult for me to like, I guess want
to talk shit because I do have a lot of
respect for a lot of respect for Rule. I think
your defense has played incredible, and I love your running back.
It's like, that's a team that goes into year three
of Matt Rule. You want them to play like this
versus these cupcake teams. The thing that makes me feel
(47:07):
really good is the essentially being battle tested. You go in,
it didn't go the way you wanted. There's not a
whole lot you look at from like a play standpoint
you're like fire about, but there's a lot of things
that's like, Okay, that's a reason we didn't really put
ourselves in a position. And I think Bryce needed that
for this going into Big Ten play, It's gonna be exciting. Man,
(47:27):
it's gonna be exciting game. I'm Nebraska fans. They've got
a whole they got a new generation. All the nice
ones are dying off like there, I'm expected a bunch
of fuck Michigan's. I'm excited. I want them to get
a little nasty with me. I kinda want me to
feel like one could take a swing in Lincoln. That's
because that's when Nebraska needs. It's not a Hey, great job,
(47:49):
Nebraska needs a fan base that is demanding of what
they've put on the field for the last three weeks.
Speaker 1 (47:54):
Demanding. Yeah, we got to challenge I gotta do a
good job of challenging Husker fans because they need to
remember what happened a couple of years ago when you
guys had like the fourteen play drive you ended up scoring.
We get a tip pass on the first play of
the game, offensively, they you guys pick it off, and
our place was dead from that point out, like we're
not even in We're not even in the game anymore.
(48:15):
When it's like we had you guys on a third down,
you need the stadium as loud as ever they weren't.
You guys obviously beat the shit out of us had
you took our mind, body, soul, signs, everything. But that's
gonna be the challenge for Husker Nation this weekend.
Speaker 2 (48:28):
You know what I've noticed in just a small time
we've been sitting on this bus, since we've seen each other.
You know the tensions there, But there's a level of
us putting our friendship first right now because there's a
lot of things that we've done in the past, wanting
Michigan to fail, me talking nasty about Nebraska, and we're
kind of yeah, sitting here without the bullets material because
you know, you've already said you're more confident than you
(48:50):
were in twenty times. That's a national that's a that's
one of the best teams in college football that was
on the field, and this Michigan team isn't close to
that football team.
Speaker 1 (48:59):
Okay, you think so, I'm talking just Michigan teams, Michigan
twenty twenty five and Michigan twenty twenty three. You think
Michigan twenty twenty five is as good as the Michigan
twenty twenty three team.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
There's probably a couple of areas where we can get better,
but I don't think we're I don't think we're that
far off. We're not that far off. There's been penalties,
some costly mistakes that you don't like to see. First
game of the year, you see a fumbled kick return.
There's just things that mistakes were being made by this
team that weren't made in twenty three. A lot of
(49:30):
talent on that squad, a lot of talent that hasn't
been on Earth yet. Right, do you toss me in
week eight?
Speaker 1 (49:37):
Java?
Speaker 6 (49:37):
A wager at all between you two?
Speaker 1 (49:39):
There's no wager. I placed a bomb on this game,
like personally same, I've yeah, responsibly a responsible bomb. I
shot a DM to Blake yesterday. I told him, Hey,
great game, he had a good game against Tennessee. I
hope you have a great week.
Speaker 7 (49:57):
He did.
Speaker 2 (49:58):
Blake is so.
Speaker 1 (50:00):
Ah. What did he say?
Speaker 2 (50:02):
He said?
Speaker 5 (50:03):
Like?
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Uh, He basically said something like like, whenever the weekend happens,
I expect a pantry talk after the game. And I said, well,
whenever this weekend happens, I expect you to say Nebraska.
What did I say?
Speaker 5 (50:14):
Like?
Speaker 1 (50:14):
Nebraska is a dominant football team. I don't know why
I ever doubted Will Compton coming from your Twitter account,
hopefully does Yeah, hopefully he does. He said, yeah, I
gotta I got a JP Hove bet for you. I know,
I know you're happy. I'm not there. I'm not there
eating all the corn after the game this upcoming weekend,
(50:36):
I'm gonna need to see a little pantry talk on
ig And I said, I'll need a Nebraska's for real.
And I should have never doubted. Will Compton tweety did
he agree to that? He didn't agree to it. But
this is this is the public challenge right here.
Speaker 2 (50:49):
I think bombs will be placed on FanDuel sportsbook. There's
no There's no doubt about that. So there's a there's
a financial issue that is going to take place in
both of our lives. Bombs might be bigger than others
from a bet standpoint. My bet to you is this,
if Nebraska wins, I'll shave my mustache for the rest
of the year.
Speaker 1 (51:11):
What's that? What's that?
Speaker 2 (51:12):
I'll shave my mustache and I'll be clean shaving the
rest of the year. No, if Michigan wins, you're not
allowed to cut the top of your head for the
rest of the year.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
You said, I can't get a haircut for the rest
of the year.
Speaker 2 (51:26):
And get a haircut for the rest of the year.
And I know you every Tuesday to thirty. Yeah, I
know your Tuesday every two thirty. I was gonna wait
for the locker room for this, but you guys started
talking about bets and I was like, I did have
this in the chamber. I will cut my I'll cut
my mustache for the for until jan one twenty six,
and I will not grow start growing it out until
(51:48):
jan one twenty six. So really we're looking at February. Yeah,
we're looking at Super Bowl before I have my mustache back.
Speaker 1 (51:54):
Come on, we can talk about it.
Speaker 2 (51:58):
Listen, listen, listen.
Speaker 1 (52:00):
You never never, you never make an emotional decision, Never
make a guy you have chosen to get behind because
one because one guy, guy.
Speaker 2 (52:08):
Who refused to say the name, the guy who refused
to say the name of the team he's playing this week.
We saw that worked out for Ohio State. And the
guy who says I can't take a hair cutting bet
because you don't want to make an emotional decision.
Speaker 1 (52:19):
I said, we'll talk about it. I didn't say no.
Like again, I'm a principled individual. Like we are. I
will look ridiculous growing my hair out. You've shaved your
mustache and whatever. Your insecurities are yours and yours only
because you look fine without a mustache.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
Yeah, but it's also a part of my my identity.
Like I don't whether I look fine.
Speaker 1 (52:35):
But you look fine. I would look ridiculous for long
air ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (52:38):
But when we get to December and you do look ridiculous,
I think it's like more fun for all of us.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
Like again, we can talk about it.
Speaker 8 (52:45):
I didn't say no, Joey, you say you've always said
it will has been in no first and then don't
think about it.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
Understand, but you think you think the way we'll walk
through the building today, the into the building, tayl are
good to see you.
Speaker 5 (52:57):
Like you.
Speaker 2 (52:58):
There's a lot of hope and optimism in Nebraska, and
it's like, okay, everyone's got hoped to on optimism. Then
it's like, okay, put something on the table. That's what happens,
but I don't know, we'll talk about it. It's like
all right, well yeah today tomorrow, I'm a principal guy.
Even look at me. You just gotta think to yourself,
like what are we talking about I'm a principal guy, Like,
(53:19):
what does that even mean?
Speaker 1 (53:20):
It means you you don't make an emotional decision like
in the moment, and you've been the only one to
offer something. There's been no counter counter offer, there's no
I've put anything on the table. Like, this has got
to be a collaboration. This can't be a tailor.
Speaker 2 (53:30):
I'll do this. Whatever you want to bet them in
about being principal. Whatever you want to say.
Speaker 6 (53:37):
Tune Wednesday for the official bet.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
Yeah, we can do Wednesday official bet. Actually like that too.
I might want you to have corn rows.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
Yeah, we'll do yeah, Wednesday with.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
Real corn rolls. Thursday, get up with corn rows? Would
look outstanding? I mean, yeah, you want me to dye
my hair, you want me to get a tattoo, you
want to shave my mustache? Whatever bet you want budd
shaving heads and play shaved my head? All right, Wednesday,
(54:09):
I'll go American History.
Speaker 7 (54:10):
X for the rest of the year.
Speaker 2 (54:12):
Like all good. I've seen the film, I've watched all
of Nebraska's games, I've watched all of Michigan games. Let's
talk about NFL. We had a big weekend.
Speaker 7 (54:23):
I know, to my hand.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
Let's talk NFL. We had a big weekend. But first
we're talking about Form Energy form inagury and delivers best

(54:46):
Who's gonna pop the Form Energy? Who's gonna put in
the work? Form Energy? If we do the work.
Speaker 1 (54:52):
This episode is also brought to you by Liquid IV.

I'll say this about Liquid IV man. I looked at
the weather this morning. I got it feels like this
is the last warm week of the year. I think
it feels like the last warm of the year. They
say no high eighties. I didn't see any ninety boys.
Maybe a ninety boy in there. But hey, one last
thing before you get the NFL. So about dude wife,
So you fumbling the ball when it comes to a
getting a confident clean in the back of your ind zone,
make the right play, calling audible and sowitch From dry
(56:05):
toilet paper to wet extra large Jude wipes. Why it's
simple what it just cleans better. Dude wipes are wet
and extra large, so they clear never smear your rear.
So when you got to go to number two, be
sure to bring the number one products and clean Dude
wipes the goat of cleaning your keyster. Available on Amazon
and at Walmart nationwide. Dudewipes, best clean pants down NFL.
(56:25):
There's a night football Commanders took on the Packers. What
do you say about the Packers man Juggernaut, absolute Juggers.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
Between them in the Bills, by the way, super prediction
est teams in football.
Speaker 2 (56:38):
I think you got. I mean we'll get to the lines.
You love the way they got back on track against Oh,
But it's like, yeah, you look at the teams and
the small little sample size we have right now. You
look at the Packers in the NF Senior, You're like, well,
who's beaten them? Obviously they're going to lose a game
or two here or there, and it'll be an uncharacteristic,
Hey let's uplip on the radar type of thing. But
from a Packer's standpoint, it's like it lose, was it read?
(57:00):
Jordan Reed is at his name? Ja Jayden Reid?
Speaker 1 (57:02):
Excuse me?
Speaker 2 (57:03):
Yeah? First drive, collar bone? But like they ran the
ball effectively. Jordan Love looks. Jordan Love looked good. Like
they got to get golden a little more mixed up
when it comes to like him catching catching balls. He
had a couple of Jets sweeps. The thing the only
thing that concerns me with the Packers is when pressure
was applied to Jordan Love, I think it's I have
to look at the percentages, but his percentages go way
down as far as accuracy and completion percentage.
Speaker 1 (57:25):
The better. The better side of the ball for the
Packers is defense, like they have an elite defense, like
Michael Parsons, Rashaun Gary, like their second level key saw
not him Beau bro he was a former teammate of mine.
Also Nate Hobbs, they were with the Raiders. But Nixon
has always been like a return guy. He's gotten the
he's gotten his opportunity at the quarterback position, and you
(57:47):
see throughout the game that they're also targeted targeting him.
He is a baller bro Like their secondary is good
and the secondary is going to be complemented well because
they have such a good pass rush, Like the quarterback
is gonna have to get the ball out quick. And
again it's like uh Lions had a great bounce back week.
But you look at who the Packers have beaten handedly
in the first two weeks, and Washington's a good football team,
(58:07):
Like the way they beat the shit out of the Giants,
Like Giants and Cowboys going down to the wire over
the weekend. Uh you look at the way the Lions
bounce back against the Bears. Yea, Packers are right now
my favorite team in the NFL. Like as far as
like lead dog, who the best team is? Right? Yeah
they got yeah.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
They do, but they got their whole the whole state
is behind them. And yeah, you can't say nothing about
Michael Parsons. I know everybody like the whole Lawrence Taylor
thing when we're on Get Up. But statistically, Arsons is
there in their first statistically care he's there, and it's like, yeah,
you're you want people are gonna make that comparison right
now for the click. Statistically he is there right now.
But buddy, the elevation that that defense has from him
(58:46):
because they're across the board better than Dallas's defense ever
was last year. Across the board, player by player, you
can go and be like, Okay, he's better, he's better,
he's better. But it's like, yeah, when he's in the game,
you can feel all of the commanders off it to
be like he right there, and that is the thing
that is going to I bring him a bunch for
Shaun Gary. He's gonna have a career year. This year,
he's got two games, two sacks already. He's getting pressure.
(59:09):
He's getting pressure. You put him in the three techning standpoint,
he put him on the left tackle, the right tackle wherever,
and then Parsons is getting chipped, he's getting slide to,
and he's beating guys so quickly that he's making Jade
Daniels run for his life. Yeah, it is one of
the more impresidents. It's one of the things you sit
back in as a x NFL offensive tackle and just go,
thank god, thank god, I didn't have to deal with
(59:30):
that right the inst And it's so fast because you're
so scared about his speed that you're over setting and
making this big b gap open for him to go into.
He's slippery and moves in. He looks fantastic.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
If people might be saying the two faces of the
Packers or Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs, I think the
two faces of the Packers could be Micah Parsons and
Tucker Craft.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
Tucker Craft, Hey, did you end up starting him? That
a boy?
Speaker 1 (59:55):
Twenty? How many points did he get in fantasy?
Speaker 2 (59:58):
He went crazy with Beejhon Robinson crazy this weekend. Yeah,
I mean Tucker first off, guy comes off the bus.
He looks the part like he's been in the weight
room extra this offseason. He was blocking, He's getting yacked
like this guy. I'm impressed. I am impressed.
Speaker 1 (01:00:16):
Amni.
Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Yeah, stud got some new ink as well.
Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
Hammer's beers the way you would assume looking at Tucker Craft.
Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
I know this is the second, maybe even the third
moment of silence. Can we get one for Austin Eckler?
Oh yeah, true professional on and off the field. Will
talks about he I mean landlord. He was a landlord
of Will Compton's when he was in Las Vegas, Nevada.
(01:00:44):
The friend of the show guy operates at an extremely
high level mentally, he understands the game. He he is
a huge loss for the Commanders, huge loss for them.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
What's what was sad too about that moment is he
knew it right when it happened, and you see it
on his face.
Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
They brought they brought him over the lines. He sits
on the bench and you could see a guy realizing
maybe it's over.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
This could have been my last game and that could
have been my last player on the field. Yeah, and
that because where he's at, what is he thirty one? Yeah,
yeah he's older.
Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
He is man just like yeah, just following a play,
not even really like giving a whole lot of burst.
The achilles is just scared. Charlie Whitehurst, quarterback, thirty years old.
He would always like gone, but not forget. He would
always talk about whatever his achilles was stored about. I mean,
I'll tell you right now, I ain't going to practice.
I've seen too many guys have a stre achilles. Two
days later they tear that thing. He like, was so
(01:01:35):
weird about the achilles, and you see it happing these cats. Man,
it's sad. It is tough to see.
Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
Brian Robinson junior too.
Speaker 5 (01:01:44):
So who's the running back?
Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
Yeah, that rookie.
Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
It's the rookie, Yeah, which puts them in a bund.
Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Yeah, they'll they'll need him to start fast tracking a
lot more now because Austin you can tell they've split
carries us up. But in the important situational ball, Austin
will be out there because he understands the offense a
lot more. So they'll need to fast track him and
get him going like he's gonna have a big responsibility.
Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
I got your your guys, McNichols.
Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
Yeah, that's rights a little bit of a grinder and
he's serviceable back. He can get it done a couple
of times.
Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
Done Brot the third down back. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:02:18):
I don't mean to open a Pandora's box on this,
but with the Achilles stendon injuries, is it just they're
happening way more like I feel like I'm seeing way
more of these non contact injuries, especially with the Achilles
in basketball even too, Like is it something in training?
Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
Is it some kind of weightlifting thing?
Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Like, I don't know, man, it's so I mean, we're
not scientists. Yeah, yeah, I don't have an m but you're.
Speaker 1 (01:02:43):
Right, answer, You're right.
Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
I love to give you an answer, but the only
answer I get you be a bunch of you fugazi.
It's a bit of a like that. I'll tell you
what what seems like to me is like players have
gotten bigger, stronger, faster every single year. It seems like
everyone's breaking new records of speed jump, the whole thing.
And it's like our our engines running a little too
high in the RPM category, where like you're having a
little bit of a breakdown, like you have these ferraris.
(01:03:06):
You want to pull out on Sunday, but sometimes they
break down a little bit. I don't know that that's
an educated guest, that's a Michigan degree. Guess right there.
I like that guess Yeah, serviceable guess. Will you think
the Commander's gonna be all right?
Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
I think the Commanders will be all right. Yeah, I honestly,
I just think I think the Packers are a really
good football team and they're dialed. Like you talk about
mid season form, a lot of these teams will start
catching up and figuring out what their identity is as
they continue to get better and get going into the season.
I feel like the Packers are like they're operating there
right now. Because again, you got Jordan Love It's third year,
was a third fourth year in the in the in
(01:03:38):
the system, fourth year defensively, like who who's the coordinator
now for the Packers? It's defense defensive coordinator for the Packers.
Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
Because the floor calls the plays right either way.
Speaker 1 (01:03:52):
This team is built very well top to bottom, and
again even in the secondary where you think that they
would have a weakness.
Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
Like Jeff Halfley is see.
Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
He's sneaky good. Some people are saying like maybe at
the end of this year, he could be like a
head coach candidate.
Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
Right right, And again this is a year two, so
guys are way more familiar with the system. And even
if you think the secondary could be a weakness, secondary
is benefiting so much from the front seven that the
Packers have. And somebody we didn't even mention is Eddrin Cooper,
the rookie backer, like he's a stud him with kway Walker,
they have that line of scrimmage like they're just tough, man,
(01:04:25):
They're tough top to bottom. And again, it's like the
way you saw the Lions bounce back, It's like the
Lions could be again still a really good football team.
Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
Yeah, yeah, they could be.
Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
And Packers handled them again. There was like no like
what came alive in the Lions game is they started
they were able to rush the passer, which they didn't
really rush the passer that well against the Packers. Like
I just think the Packers are a very well oiled
machine right now.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
Yeah, you had a great stat about the Packers' defense,
how like seventy two point six plays when they ran
the ball they were met in the backfield. Yeah, and
that's one of those things that's like they're winning the
line of scrimmage in a big I mean, that's a
crazy stat. I don't know what the regular stat is
or the league average, but if you're winning in the
backfield seventy two point six percent of the time, like
(01:05:09):
you're not going a whole lot of plays.
Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
And I feel like they had them at the Washington
I feel like they had the Commanders in third and
longer a lot of the times. It'd be fun to
look into that stat again coming out of Washington.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
I would I one thing about washing Washington's defense. Obviously,
they got a lot of flak last year for their
run defense. It seems like the run defense has gotten better,
but they're lacking a little bit now through the air.
Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:05:27):
But it also it's like, is it the Packers.
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
I was gonna say the Packers schimatically like when you
see her Loskin, These these guys breaking plays down after
the game is over, like the creativity on the floors
in like with that offensive staff like they're doing. They're
doing a lot of good job of being able to
attack the weaknesses of defenses because there was like a
lot of free runners. I feel like in that game
that you're watching, guys are downfield. They're wide open.
Speaker 2 (01:05:49):
I mean he ha's air craft multiple times in the
middle of the field. Wide open. Yeah, how was the
middle of the feld?
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
And what was the last name of that receiver? Number
thirteen to the.
Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
Weeks Wi Wix Wicks bro buddy, they I'm thinking who
is this guy? Top fifteen plays, the first fifteen plays
of the game he played. Those are games that you're like,
we're gonna run this, We're for sugaring win this. We
feel good about having success on these plays right now,
and then we'll see what the defense gives us. Wicks
was in the game plan but saying like they were
(01:06:17):
targeting him. They see something in him that maybe the
rest of us didn't really know about.
Speaker 7 (01:06:21):
They just have a deep receiver room.
Speaker 8 (01:06:23):
Well yeah, they have a bunch of receivers that like
say exactly like Will said, who is this guy?
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:06:28):
And Christian Watson's still out he's going to be coming back.
And and what's Jayden Reid depending on what's wrong with him?
Like their receiver room.
Speaker 1 (01:06:36):
Jane Rebrokes Calbo, Yeah, he go one thing.
Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
It's like Flowers and Matt Lafleur real quick like he
was at the Rams. He was like the OC, but
at Friend of the Show, Friend of the Show, he
was the OC. Sean McVay is obviously calling the players
at the Rams. He comes to the Titans for one
year and calls the plays and then gets the head
coaching job with the Packers. Like that's a crazy fast
transition from a guy who's not calling plays to one
year calling plays to now calling place and it seems
(01:07:01):
like he just has he has offense figured out in
the NFL from a scheme standpoint, we were I was
looking at I was looking at I think it was
twenty eighteen was his year with the Titans, Week two
against the Houston Texans that I was out. I got
not the Miami game, our other our right tackle was out,
(01:07:22):
Marcus Mariota was out. De Lady Walker was out and
we won that game like twenty seven to ten. Because
and you you rewatched the game, it's like he's just
steaming shit up like he has he doesn't have the players,
he doesn't have the guys, but he's still figuring out
ways to push the ball in the field and win.
Teywan Taylor had like ninety five yards that game.
Speaker 6 (01:07:41):
He won.
Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
Willis last year too, right.
Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
Against the Titans, which is you know, that's a whole
different thing. Well we should you know what, we haven't
heard from Jack McPherson for a long time. Let's jump
into this. Rams beat the Titans thirty three to nineteen.
It's tough. I'll tell you what, if you're a Titans fan,
if whenever Jack sway, but if you're a Titans fan,
you've got a quarterback, like you've got a guy that
(01:08:05):
you can win with, and if you have the pieces
around him, and you have the right calls, and you
have the right coaching staff, like, you can win with
cam Ward. Kid doesn't flinch. He's one to sit in
the pocket when the when the pass rush is coming
down on him, he's he's keeping his eyes downfield. He
has enough shiftiness to kind of get out of stuff.
Like I really like cam Ward. I'm really excited about
(01:08:28):
cam Ward in his future. My fear is cam Ward's
future because he gets what nine sacks, ten sacks in
the first two games.
Speaker 5 (01:08:36):
We've actually, i think doubled our sacks from the first
three games last year, and we thought that was bad.
Speaker 7 (01:08:43):
And it's like we have a new offensive line.
Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
You have a new offensive line, but jac LA's hurt.
You could obviously tell it. Jacon Lathan being hurt was
a big deal. Dan Moore not the best day yesterday.
Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
I think Scronsky Dan or No, yeah, yeah, Dan, Yeah,
didn't have a great day.
Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
That's Koransky, though. I thought you it's not like it's
complete chaos. We got to do a better job of
chips and shifts and motions and all these things to
kind of slow down defensive lines. It seems like we
need you guys to get a little bit more confidence.
Speaker 1 (01:09:13):
We need more depth, need more depth.
Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
When are we going to see Corey eleven question?
Speaker 5 (01:09:17):
I swear I thought yesterday we were gonna put Corey
in at center and shift everyone over.
Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
Budd it was so bad. Is an incredibly well kept
secret by the Tantasy Titans. I just think when whenever
he's gone into games, playing with him or watching him
like he is good he is good enough.
Speaker 1 (01:09:35):
Yeah, that's that. That was That was a lot of
my career. Such a good kept secret that you want
to keep it his secret. Yeah, he's got to see
Corey get out there and spin right.
Speaker 5 (01:09:43):
Got it was eleven sacks in two weeks and been
flagged twenty three times. For one hundred and ninety three years.
Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
That's the problem, man. You guys' penalties are just crazy.
Our penalty apology gave us twenty three pressures. Yeah it's
I thought they played hard though, Yeah, they played hard
like the worst j Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:10:07):
Yeah, Kelly honestly had a couple of decent moments.
Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
But stuff, man, good time to say. October fifth, We're
doing a watch party with the test It Titians.
Speaker 6 (01:10:18):
Okay, this actually is one of the few positives of
this weekend. I'm in the stadium yesterday and I'm walking
to halftime and over the entire concourse announced busting with
the boys and the Titans will do an official tail
geate at Brooklyn Bowl. And that was cool to hear.
And we were just taken the lead. So there was
one shining moment. And I don't really have much say
about the game yesterday, but I am nervous. We have
(01:10:39):
the Colts coming up, obviously divisional games, and the Colts
look good. And if Indiana Jones stomps us, I might
go in my a for a minute.
Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
Indiana Jones might be nice.
Speaker 6 (01:10:49):
He might be nice, but he is nice.
Speaker 1 (01:10:52):
Is nice? See, I haven't watched the Colts enough to
have like that, because I'm like, yeah, I mean, it
seems like the Cults are playing well. I watched the
end of that game where I'm like, oh, Broncos the
leverage penalty at the end.
Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
I see, I didn't see the leverage penalty.
Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
It was so blatant too.
Speaker 1 (01:11:07):
He is literally just yeah, field goal to win the game.
They go out there and he shanks it wide right,
but laundry on the field and Broncos had a leverage
penalty where the guy over the center ends up putting
his hands on the center's back and trying to jump up.
Called it. They move it up. What was it ten
ten yard penalty? Ten or fifteen yard penalty? They go up,
(01:11:27):
they rekick it, boom, walk off, win the game.
Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
Yeah, that's one that's gonna bite the Broncos quite a
bit because you're that division that they're in. Exactly see
what happens tonight with the Chargers and Raiders. But like,
there's some good squads in there, and the Chiefs are
looking human.
Speaker 6 (01:11:42):
Yeah, and so they are looking real human.
Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
I see, all right, Chiefs looking human? Who they got
this week? Bring up the schedule?
Speaker 7 (01:11:54):
What I feel? I mean, they're Zering too. But they've
played two really good teams and they've games have come
down to the wiry a lot like last year.
Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
Yeah, the Chief schedules kind of fucked. They play the Giants, Ravens, Jags, Lions.
Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Like they beat the Giants. I know, Russell Wilson had
a great day yesterday and they were.
Speaker 1 (01:12:15):
Like the Ravens than this is a this is a
must win on the Giants though, Like I know, I know,
I do the thing, but I'm saying, like, yeah, you're
right again, Giant, they should.
Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
Be for sure again the last four years of you
talking that, we're gonna learn to erase that because this
is this is real. Like if you don't go and
stomp the Giants, yes, then you are truly in danger.
Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
Because it's coming from him.
Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
But yes, yea, Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes like Travis like
the you know, kind of bops the ball in the air,
ends up getting intercepted. That's heartbreaking. But like when you
have those guys like they shouldn't have been in that game.
They don't have the personnel of the talent to be
in that game with the Eagles, and their defense stood
up a lot of the game. I know they score
kind of like a touchdown at the end to make
(01:12:59):
it seem a little close than it was, But like
that first half, like you're watching, it's like, this is
what the Chiefs have to be right now. With Rice
being out, with Xavier Worthy being out, it's like you can't,
like they don't have a run game. And I'll say this, dude,
it is so difficult to impose your will from a
physicality run game standpoint when you haven't done it for
(01:13:21):
so long. Like that's why identity is so important. You
have to have a running identity because if you don't
and you need it at some points, you're going you're
probably going to fail.
Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
It's impossible.
Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
I mean, yeah, dud, I mean they were.
Speaker 7 (01:13:36):
It was the.
Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
And honestly, like the Chiefs running the ball is doing
those quick five yard hitches and just quick ball out
super fast that you're going to tight windows, get him
in there, and Patrick Mahomes can do it for you.
That's why the Chiefs are never out of it. But
if you don't take care of the giants, the narrative
will start to shift. Because right now, I think a
lot of people are on my stet where it's like
yather on two. We know twelve and a half percent
(01:14:00):
of making the playoffs when you start going too. But
it's still the Chiefs. You didn't beat the Giants, buddy.
Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
It's not though, and not from the hating standpoint, but
from a team stand how how's Hollywood Brown? Did he
come back in the gamers? He yeah, he came back
in the games, okay, but the health of this team, bro, Like,
when Hollywood Brown went down, I'm like, like, who who
does he got outside of Travis Juju Smith?
Speaker 8 (01:14:23):
Guy?
Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
Is that number eighty eighty money? They had one too
that Pat overthrew.
Speaker 1 (01:14:30):
Oh my god, Eagles had some yips in the secondary
on that one too, where he bombs down on the route.
Speaker 8 (01:14:37):
There was a lot of time left in the game.
So if they hit that like and the Chiefs get
a stop, like, they still have the ball with like
four or five minutes left.
Speaker 2 (01:14:44):
People, people got to appreciate what Patrick Mahomes is doing
with who is Pat two?
Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
Put one in a nice spot? Tough catch? Where is it?
Speaker 7 (01:14:51):
Thornton?
Speaker 1 (01:14:52):
He goes up to get it, ends up dropping the
ball to where it would have been a big play.
But for me, it's just like, man, he doesn't have
a whole lot of weapons, but this is they gotta
have this one. And again the Eagles fall start on
every touch push.
Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
Yeah, that one that was crazy, but it's also the.
Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
Two back there was. There was that one and then
the second one that I saw where was in like
was it the fourth quarter where they were in the
touch push and got it to where I think two
guys fall started and the goal line one that was
the right guard, and then in the fourth quarter one
it was like two guys are false started, like that play,
that play, it needs to be done.
Speaker 2 (01:15:29):
I see, I think you gotta beat it. You got
you gotta figure out.
Speaker 7 (01:15:31):
But it's getting to the point.
Speaker 1 (01:15:34):
Saying I guys, I don't know how to help you anymore.
I don't like officiating this play.
Speaker 2 (01:15:38):
People are like, oh, the sinners lined up like over
the ball, Like there's penalties everywhere on this plane. I understand,
but it's like, how is it cheating.
Speaker 1 (01:15:46):
Because they're they're false starting, they're not calling out no.
Speaker 2 (01:15:48):
No. The false start was crazy. But it also goes
back to like last year, the year before the year
before that. How many times do the chiefs like they're
getting calls they're getting calls or getting calls, And is
that now the script changing a little bit that Chiefs
aren't getting these types of calls because that was a
blatant penalty that was not taking care of and he
got two refs on both sidelines staring down that line
of scrimmage.
Speaker 5 (01:16:07):
For the Chiefs next six games, four of them are primetime.
Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
I mean, yeah, great football coming up, crazy great football,
great football coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:16:18):
Yes, Bro didn't even have one hundred yards. He said,
shut your ass up. We beat you and we still
want Yeah, yeah, just be mad they lost. Let me
take a shot somehow. How can I how can I
try to get in this man you see on.
Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
The sideline too, Chris Jones losing his mind early in
the game, Travis Kelce.
Speaker 1 (01:16:41):
A couple of times.
Speaker 2 (01:16:42):
It's like these older guys know their window is closing,
and it's closing faster than they might have thought it was.
Speaker 1 (01:16:48):
But that's the urgency you need if you're on that side.
Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
That's the leadership you need, because it's like you're looking
at these younger cats being like, Bro, we need we
need you to do this because I don't have a
whole lot of time.
Speaker 1 (01:16:59):
Yeah, to win by thirty They buddy.
Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
They need a They need a big time buddy for
the narrative to change. I'm telling you, this has got
to be a double digit win, minimum ten.
Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
That might be a bold prediction to Giants upset the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Giants. Giants aren't having that type of success on the
off side of the ball with the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
They are not the way they just performed against Dallas.
Speaker 2 (01:17:29):
Buddy, they are not having that type of success.
Speaker 1 (01:17:32):
I didn't think that they were gonna have that type
of success against Dallas. And Russell Wilson's out there throwing
for over four hundred yards at a hundred six Yeah,
scataboo first touchdown, legacy and two matchup on Sunday night,
dak In that offense looks really good. Yeah, they just
think got to have the defense need something. Do we
(01:17:56):
concerned the Cowboys for some death for past rushing? Yeah,
never know, never know.
Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
And he is I mean generational talent. The question is
going to be how bad does Clowney want it?
Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
Right? Is this a check or is this a legacy
play for him? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:18:18):
That?
Speaker 2 (01:18:18):
But also yeah, but which one? Which one?
Speaker 1 (01:18:21):
D do we go? Moment of silence for Joey b
do we go moment of silence for Joey b.
Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
Love you, Joe, Love you Joe. Future Friends of the
Show grab.
Speaker 1 (01:18:35):
With three full rupture turf toe surgery three months. This
season is done for the Bengals, even though Browning.
Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
Browning nice when when Joe hasn't been in, like Jake
kind of stands up and you're down against the Jags
when you get.
Speaker 1 (01:18:52):
Hurt, I still like my I think Jags are.
Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
You don't worried about Cone yelling and Trevor Lawren give
him the wave off?
Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
No, no, did you watch the sequence of plays?
Speaker 5 (01:19:03):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
So I did, but it was on like the four panels.
I get so over a stimulated when there's that many
games on, it's hard for me to really digestible.
Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
So there's a lot of like underground lore with Jacksonville
going on. You got Brian Thomas Junior, Like does he
have the haves people talking about as he dropping the
ball on purpose? I don't think that's true at all,
but you know he had a shot to hit like
this on that play was actually a drop ball by
Brian Thomas. It just wasn't. It didn't hit him in
the chest. He like sat it down in between cover two,
(01:19:31):
and he threw it a little bit on the outside
to where Brian Thomas could have still grabbed it. He
might have taken a look, but he could have still
grabbed the ball. He goes out, reaches for it, drops
it and kind of like brings his body in to
where he would have got hit. That was on second
and fourteen. They would have had a third and manageable
because they end up getting yards back on third down,
but they're going into score to where it's twenty four
to twenty four, right or was it twenty seven to
twenty four at this time twenty four four four? It
(01:19:54):
was twenty seven to twenty four PI. No, okay, yes, yeah,
you're right, it's twenty seven to twenty and so they
went fourth on fourth down, it was fourth and five,
so it was third and fourteen they end up getting
They run the ball and get all the way down
to the fourth and five, and so they go for
it and the ball like that's a touchdown? Does it?
(01:20:15):
Was it Brian Thomas who drops the ball in the
end zone?
Speaker 2 (01:20:17):
Was it him?
Speaker 1 (01:20:18):
It might have been number seven.
Speaker 2 (01:20:20):
I think it was number seven.
Speaker 1 (01:20:21):
Yeah, it could have been number seven, but drops a touchdown?
I thought think he was number five, five, seven, single
digit whatever. Anyway, they have him wide open in the
end zone and they dropped the ball on the enzone
to where they would ic the game. They have to
settle for. Oh, they turn the ball over and that's
when the Bengals go down and win the game. But
Jacksonville had every opportunity to win the game. Another one
when they were tied twenty four to twenty four, balls
(01:20:42):
placed beautifully in the end zone, my man drops the ball,
drops a touchdown tour on that one, they have to
settle for a field goal, so then they only go
twenty seven to twenty four. And again they had that
shot to where Cohen's over there, like hit him in
the chest. Who knows if it's a yips thing with
Brian with Brian Thomas, don't know if it's like bro
He's right there, just put the ball in his chests.
A very emotional moment. I think between two guys who
(01:21:02):
understand each other and they have like a good rapport,
I think they just expect excellence. Trevor Lawrence comes out
in the press conference after the game, doesn't give it
a whole lot of fodder. He's just like you know,
he enjoys Coach Cohen. He's like, I think he's elevated
me a lot, like in that area of urgency and
like frustration whatever it is. But I think that was
just a little scuffle that people are trying to make
a lot about it. I think that they're gonna be good.
Speaker 2 (01:21:23):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (01:21:24):
I think Trevor Lawrence ne's to hit some throws where
he's got. You know, he does a couple of things
where people are like, it's like, hey, what is he
doing here? Like where he threw a pick or two?
One was like wild how much he under threw it.
But Trevor Lawrence can put the ball around. They had
five drop balls yesterday. Like, I think the Jags are good.
I think the Jags are gonna be nice. Hey, the
Begels are dead Browning again. You don't know even when
(01:21:45):
he went on that stint when Joey b was out,
what was it last year a couple of years ago,
he played well, you never know, you got weapons t
Higgins and Jamar Chase on the outside. Defensively, who knows
if that defense is gonna you know, right now they're average.
Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Yeah, you're talking about all the drops the like crazy
inner perceptions that Trevor Lawrence had and like you love
the fact that Hedgerson steals the game at the end
with that sack. Yeah, but it's like still, we're now
going into week three and I don't know what to
make of the Bengals defense. Yeah, because they play the Browns.
Obviously we know the Browns are bad, and then they
play this game and it's like, Okay, they're down fourteen
to seven when Joe Burrow goes back, goes in the game,
(01:22:18):
Jake Browning comes in, does a great job. He's obviously
a bunch of weapons around him. But like, at some
point the Bengals defense has to stand down. Yeah, but
is it like is it because juguars penalties? Is it
because of drops? Is it because interceptions? Or is it
because the Bengals defense is good.
Speaker 1 (01:22:32):
I think the Bengals will be a lot like they
were last year, defense a little bit better and offense
not getting as much production. But I think they'll be
in the hunt because we're gonna talk about the Steelers.
Who knows if the Steelers are good because Bill's just
got the doors or blew the doors off of the Jets.
They get the Steelers get handled by Seattle. I don't
think the division is that strong with the Browns, the Steelers.
(01:22:53):
Ravens are obviously a Jugger or not, but I think
they'll kind of be like a similar team to where
you know what they're gonna squeak out a win, you
don't know what's gonna be. But I think their defense
is a little bit better. But I think their offense
obviously gonna take a big production hit with Joey b
not being out there.
Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
Yeah, yeah, obviously anytime Joey's out the field here.
Speaker 5 (01:23:07):
In Bengals next four games at the Vikings, at the Broncos,
home against the Lions, at the Packers.
Speaker 1 (01:23:14):
So you have to win and then the Milers after that.
You have to win against Minnesota this week, and Minnesota
will light them up. They'll be aggressive defensively.
Speaker 2 (01:23:21):
Yeah, they're gonna Minnesota's defense is really good. They're gonna
keep them in games the rest of the year while
JJ has to figure it out's got to figure himself.
Speaker 1 (01:23:28):
Cool drink a little too fast list. I drank it
because I was, like a lot of people did.
Speaker 2 (01:23:33):
I have never in my life seen somebody have the
first half they did, and in the fourth quarter he does,
like having that much of a one to eighty from
like looking completely lost to looking like, oh, this kid
seems like he's been the league for ten years and
knows what he's doing, and then you go to this game,
it's like maybe the Falcons are nice though, Falcons arej Yeah,
(01:23:53):
John Robinson is nice, Drake London's nice. Pitt's playing more
on the outside looks nice.
Speaker 1 (01:23:58):
Yeah, like Penni is a ball or in. Defensively, I
think in Week one they might had zero or one sack.
Last night they had what six. The talent showed up
on the D line.
Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
That's a product of Minnesota holding on the ball. Jersey
holding on the ball quite a bit because Minnesota is
off the line. Is nice.
Speaker 8 (01:24:13):
The Falcons also they had too. They have two first
round draft picks on their D line with Jalen Walker
and JPJ. Yeah, they're they're young, and they're like that
Bobby the guy who had like almost two picks yesterday.
Speaker 3 (01:24:26):
Like they have some unknown guys that are yes, thirty
three right, Yeah, Bobby.
Speaker 2 (01:24:30):
Found I think he knows what he's doing.
Speaker 1 (01:24:33):
Yeah, Falcons could be tough.
Speaker 2 (01:24:35):
Falcons could be could be tough.
Speaker 1 (01:24:36):
And Bijehon is so good bro, just at everything, at everything,
like he's good for He's gonna make the first person
miss no matter what. It is wild to watch.
Speaker 2 (01:24:45):
Yeah, yeah, it might be a little bit. Emma Johnson,
you're running back.
Speaker 1 (01:24:51):
Oh oh, Emma Johnson.
Speaker 2 (01:24:53):
He's like a cat that you have to have. Sound
second that.
Speaker 1 (01:24:55):
They said Avery Johnson, No, no.
Speaker 2 (01:24:59):
No oh, but yeah that the Jags. Man. I think
it depends what we see to night from the Texans. Well,
they put up nine points against the Rams. I mean
now they're playing at home against the Bucks coming off
an emotional win. Bucks come off emotional win, Like Wharfs
is out? I think is Nico out? Questionable? Questionable? Tank
(01:25:21):
Dell is still out. Like it's like if if the
Texans can't win this one against Baker, which is it's
a little bit of an uphill battle, Jags might be
your front runner.
Speaker 1 (01:25:32):
Like they looked they looked the most complete.
Speaker 2 (01:25:34):
All the time. Yeah what am I talking about the Colts?
I like the Colts.
Speaker 1 (01:25:38):
The thing with the Texans. You talk about their offensive weapons,
but that d line is nuts.
Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
Daniel Hunter and Will Anders.
Speaker 1 (01:25:46):
From Adam Schefty, how about this? The Colts are the
first team in the Super Bowl Era to not punt
in either of their first two games in a season.
Speaker 3 (01:25:55):
They scored every time they've had the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:25:58):
Yeah, yeah, I mean Daniel Daniel Jones. Like the what's
the head coach? Who's the head coach the Colts. Shane Steikeen,
he was they were talking about. He's talking about Daniel
Jones and like his preparation, how he works, and like
he might not be like you know, the guy like
long term whatever it is, but he's a dude that's
(01:26:19):
going to get the ball to his playmakers and be
efficient on every single play and you see, Yeah, you know,
I'm going to say, like that's his what sunny he said?
Speaker 3 (01:26:27):
What he said?
Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
I think I like the Colts and I think their
defense is good.
Speaker 1 (01:26:31):
Daniel Jones coming in the league when he was at
the Giants, they talk about all the talent he had.
He's got the body, he can run a little bit,
he can he's got a big arm. He was on
a pod recently and giving a lot of flowers to
coach Kevin O'Connell at the Vikings for the time, the
short time he had with the Vikings about just the
preparation and the detail and everything else. Who knows. I'm
sure he picked up some some tips on like his studying,
(01:26:54):
preparing things that have helped him kind of transition into
his new situation with the Colts. Danny Dimes might be
he might be nice. It might be nice, not that nice,
not that nice.
Speaker 2 (01:27:09):
Yeah, a gonna be interesting one to see out unfold,
especially after the night.
Speaker 1 (01:27:13):
Texans might I'm not sure. In the fan duel, I
know when I took him yesterday, they were favored by
two and a half tonight going into playing home at
home against the Bucks. I still like that game. The
d This d line is crazy. I cannot wait to
watch him. Raves got his first.
Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
I took you. I took your parlay. Would you have
Baker Mayfield anytime touchdown? And who else? Mike Evans, it's
a crazy one. Put a little I'll put a little
bombski on that one, too, sure any really, dude? First off,
yesterday was my best day ever gambling and it was
not me. I took a the twelve o'clock slate. I
(01:27:53):
took five five favorite teams, and I hit that five
light parlay. You go there with the Cowboys gran For
a minute, that was the only one that I cooked
up myself. But Jack put a nice one in there
that I bet Clump hit me with.
Speaker 1 (01:28:06):
Who was it?
Speaker 2 (01:28:08):
Davante Adams took that and I put like, I just
like threw I just threw a hail Mary out there
for because I've been getting kind of worked a little
bit in the Fandal Sports book that one hits go
back hit JK. Dobbins in the three clock Slate like
it was a day will you go to bed? You
look at me like I'm never gonna suffer financial.
Speaker 4 (01:28:29):
Basically I need to start following you then no no, no,
no no, or following the group.
Speaker 2 (01:28:34):
Follow Clump, yeah, really follow the group when the comes
in with the parlays, like even if they contradict my views, up,
I put something on it because I kind of just
want like, hey, we're all in this.
Speaker 1 (01:28:45):
Together, and if one hits, we all one persons, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, same,
That's what I'll bet all of them.
Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
And then I'll go and look and be like all right,
that's what I have that going on right now.
Speaker 1 (01:28:57):
So, yeah, the ones who I've clicked on the matter
what has been clumped just because he had a great
weekend last weekend on Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (01:29:05):
Think only one clump gave me that didn't hit was
a j Brown anytime touchdown.
Speaker 1 (01:29:08):
Yeah, Hey, the Dereck Henry one didn't hit. I know,
what do you have?
Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
Like fourteen yards of.
Speaker 1 (01:29:13):
Rushing eleven touches? Like yeah, not yet.
Speaker 2 (01:29:16):
But it also says a lot about the Ravens offense, like, oh,
Dereck Henry, the guy you're gonna give the ball to,
hopefully twenty times a game. The whole success given this
fourth or fifth step, like that didn't work. What did
work was Lamar Jackson throwing the ball and like, yeah
with Miles, Yeah so funny. I taketed Caleb after that.
That's so fucking funny.
Speaker 1 (01:29:35):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (01:29:36):
The gas station thing is so funny. But yeah, dude,
like the Ravens are real, are real. They're continue to
do that because like you see that you put the
Browns film on the like, oh, they can beat you
any way you want, anyway anything you want to stop,
they'll do the other thing. And they're they're willing to
do whatever it takes. Sucks that they're calling out fourteen
yards though, because he is in my fantasy. Luckily, I'll
(01:29:57):
still take home to w this week.
Speaker 5 (01:29:58):
Did that guy kind of win the.
Speaker 1 (01:30:01):
Yeah, yeah did he I mean you got the brakes
blown off you still, but you know, all in all,
it's like Derek's revenge in his mind. He had to
take a little bit of me.
Speaker 2 (01:30:10):
With that earl Thomas stiff on, Yeah, making me lead
blocker type of thing, and he wasn't able to get it.
Speaker 1 (01:30:15):
Rave gets his first win.
Speaker 2 (01:30:17):
Ray gets a big win, Big Health Special teams. Yeah huge,
And I love I love that Raves body bagged what's
the owner's name, Craft, rubber Craft kind of body bag like.
Raves comes in, guys, it's about the team. He's doing
his whole vrablisms. Kraft walks in and goes, I'm gonna
call an audible real quick. He's like, yep, absolutely. Craft
(01:30:38):
starts talking about how first we love him as a player,
won three Super Bowls, him as a coach, gives him
the game ball the whole time, my steard that double
gen things just kind of like looking at his notes
and thank you. Hey, listen, this is not about me.
This ball is not about me. It's about the team.
It will always be about the body bags. Craft into
his speech about it's never about me and then just
(01:30:59):
starts tossing out game balls like their tic tacks to
all the boys. It was it was a good win.
It was a good win. I think it says a
lot about where the Miami Dolphins are headed. Do you
see McDaniels post game? You see the photo of the plane.
There was a plane with one of those like big
like strips or whatever that's at fire. McDaniels on it
(01:31:19):
and they're like, did you see that? And he's like
like it was a wordy, fumbling over answer to basically
say no, I didn't like the fans want to win games.
Speaker 1 (01:31:28):
What he did see it?
Speaker 5 (01:31:29):
Though?
Speaker 2 (01:31:29):
Right you're saying they didn't see it.
Speaker 1 (01:31:32):
Do you believe that there?
Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
It is right there?
Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
I think it's gonna get shaky for Miami. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
I think Miami is in a big sup and they
also have a short week against the Bills. Miami Boys
not a team you want to see, bro not a
team you want Yeah, especially when they had kind of
a tougher defensive game in Week one and then turn
around against a Jets team that balled out against the Steelers,
who's supposed to be the Steelers even sad they have
(01:31:58):
the most money invested in defense in the entire league.
And they bawled out. So you go to that game
being like, hey, maybe Justin Fields is generational, maybe he's
the guy, and then you put your hold him the
three points.
Speaker 1 (01:32:09):
Yeah he got hurting and the Tyrod Taylor came in,
but both had very similar success against that defense. The
Bills basically mopped the Jets in a way to where
you know the win they had against the Ravens where
it was like all Josh Allen, like Josh Allen didn't
even have to do much like the run game with
James Cook. Defensively, they bowled out. I mean they handled
handled the Jets. Yeah, handled to where they're asking coach
(01:32:30):
Aaron Glenn after the game what would make this a
successful season? His answer is just if the fans will
be you know, if they're proud. Yeah, if the fans
are proud of the way we played football.
Speaker 2 (01:32:42):
They know that it's another year of being a Jets.
Speaker 5 (01:32:44):
Fans are proud regardless and culture.
Speaker 2 (01:32:48):
Yeah, your take on the Bears, it's similar to the Jets,
Like you just kind of feel for him because they
have a fan base that loves, like gets excited every
single thing has the hope has like the one and
they just can't fucking figure it out.
Speaker 1 (01:33:01):
Man, But I feel like too, if you're in New York,
you can sneak go. You know, all giants suck. The
Giants are that good too, But you gotta I feel
like other stuff going on, friend Brown, I mean Chicago
or you just become an Illinois fan.
Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
Illinois Champagne Illinois.
Speaker 1 (01:33:18):
Champagne Illinois.
Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
I mean, what are they ring like eight? Now they
played Duke Illinois nine.
Speaker 1 (01:33:27):
And the thing too that again the Jets, like Justin
Fields is your quarterback here? First year head coach? Yeah,
you had that Aaron Rodgers Motmore runs up the flag
and then he gets hurt. I feel like that video
that always comes around is always so funny. But with
the with the Bears, bro, it's like you had, like,
this is the number one overall pick in that class.
Who's your quarterback? You know what I mean? And it's
(01:33:49):
just you feel like you got an offensive minded head coach.
You know, people are kind of saying the roster is
not that good, like you have some good veterans on
that team, you have what seemed what seemed to be
like a solid ross like they're the Huskers every year
in the offseason in fact you win the offseason and
you kind of just don't know what to say. You're
gonna get the same goal around stuff on just fields
needs to fix this, like here are a few plays
(01:34:11):
like it's just it's just there's it's so beyond that.
Speaker 2 (01:34:13):
Yeah, the expectation is much lower in the Jets facility
than it is in the Chicago facility leading.
Speaker 1 (01:34:18):
Up of the season. Yeah, I get that.
Speaker 2 (01:34:19):
I just wonder what Ben Johnson. I wonder truly what
Ben Johnson and Caleb their relationship is, because Ben didn't
choose him like Ben Ben did in Stanley Tail that
we want this guy he's coming in as the head coach,
but he.
Speaker 1 (01:34:34):
Kind of did choose him. Though. If you're going to
take that job, you know that's gonna be like that's
the guy that you gotta get going.
Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
Yeah, but it's like, who's the Devi's coordinator for the
forty nine ers. Sala is how you say it, sala
He goes and takes the Jets job because coordinators want
to be head coaches. So a lot of times it's
like you're kind of going or taking what you can get.
You're going into division. You've obviously proved that you can
call plays and do it, and you see the scripted
plays that they have. Caleb does a great job with
those script the place and then it once he doesn't
(01:35:02):
necessarily know what the next play is going to be called,
you run issue and there's a bunch of ad libbing
going on, and then yeah, Danie Lofski talking about the
eyes leading the fiends at the feet leave in the
eyes whatever the correct term is. And it's like you
can see the frustration on Ben Johnson's face where he
kind of has like the Shanahan like he's not Geigaly
Lafy guy, Like he's like, we're here to fucking win.
Speaker 1 (01:35:21):
And so it's it's he coached against killed, you know,
twice a year being in that division. It's like a
job that was open too is Jacksonville and it's like
Trevor Lawrence is down there. You see Liam Calm going
and getting that job. And last year Ben Johnson was
in the carousel for like coaching jobs and everything else,
and he chose to stay with the Lions.
Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
Yeah, Jacksonville, Saints, who else, Bears, Jets were other teams
that needed a head coach.
Speaker 1 (01:35:49):
I can't remember.
Speaker 2 (01:35:52):
I think that that might be Raves Patriot, but the
Patriots job was of Raves from the kid. Yeah yeah,
So it's like, yeah, you wannaed some tier talk, Let's
hit some tier talk. Let's hear from the fans a
little bit. Sure what you got for us?
Speaker 1 (01:36:04):
Man, tier talk? You want to get featured on the show,
just use hashtag tier talk before you know, obviously by
Monday morning, we will you'll have a chance to be
featured on the show. We will read your tweets, you know,
while we're doing the show.
Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
First ones for you. Not my real name man Nick
at Night.
Speaker 1 (01:36:22):
I gotcha. So from Nick and Knight nine hashtag tier talk.
Will Compton, what win streak is more impressive Michigan's four
game win streak over Ohio State or the four game
win streak over Nebraska. That's very mean. That hurts.
Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
Unbiasedly, I feel like it's Ohio State, Like again, what
was the record before that we were against them?
Speaker 1 (01:36:49):
Yeah, like that's the that's the game. That that that
matters the most for Michigan. Yeah, that's the game.
Speaker 2 (01:36:55):
But that hurt.
Speaker 1 (01:36:56):
Nonetheless, thanks not my real name, no profile photo, and
nothing about you your personal life on there, but that
that hurt. Well done, d Fish at d Fish Raiders
fan here again are the Commanders in the dirt, especially
with the news of Jane Daniels being injured on top
of the offense looking so far out of sync. Hashtag
(01:37:17):
to your top.
Speaker 2 (01:37:18):
What is Jaane Daniel's injury?
Speaker 1 (01:37:21):
He got a blimpin during the game. It felt like
it was his ankle or foot.
Speaker 2 (01:37:27):
Yeah, yeah, but I lovely a little light boy, Yeah,
a little light maybe some soft tish, Yeah, a little
soft tish. Look a little crack and old. Yeah, category,
he'll be all right. They'll get going again. If you're
listening earlier, I'm sure you were. I feel like the
Packers are just a jugger out of a team.
Speaker 1 (01:37:41):
Yeah, very good.
Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
I agree with all that the Commanders. I picked them
to win the East. It doesn't look good. Eagles look
really good, But I'll say I think they're gonna be
just fine. Benford's face tats BC face tats says, how
would the defensive mastermind that is at Will Confton stop
the toush push hashtag t.
Speaker 1 (01:37:59):
Your I got a couple of opinions on the tier
talk linebackers need to stop jumping, they need to stop
leaving their feet. You gotta you know you're gonna get
in the four point stands, you're gonna low man's gonna
win against across the across the line of scrimmage. But
the difference is offensively, you got people pushing from behind.
And you know, Coach Ko, my linebacker, coach A. Washington
used to always talk about this, like whenever a QB
(01:38:22):
sneak happens, and trying to jump over the pile, the
many you leave your feet, you're at mercy of the
pile pushing you back. Like if you're in that second
level and say you're not in a gap to where
you're trying to push the bocket that way and you're
just behind defensive lineman, you have to push the defensive
lineman versus trying to jump over the pile and make
a play. The backers are not going to look like
Troy Polamalley where you're jumping over the pile, you're ripping
(01:38:43):
at the quarterback's face and you're gonna bring him back.
You have to get behind one of your fat boys
up front and you have to push. You have to
stop boring about doing damage and making the play the
way you make the play on this the second level.
If you're not in a gap, you have to push
your fellow d linemen in front of you. And then
the moment it happens, they're gonna hand the ball off,
they're gonna be on that.
Speaker 2 (01:39:00):
I'm just gonna say, when did the Eagles now just
do a little That's.
Speaker 1 (01:39:02):
What I'm saying. This Toush push is damn near impossible.
Speaker 7 (01:39:07):
Would a ray Lewis Ravens defense or toy Paul Miles
Steelers defense be able to stop the Toush push? Do
you think not?
Speaker 1 (01:39:13):
If they're jumping, I'm telling you that's the key ingredient.
You see it every you see it everywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:39:18):
At drunk Duck co says this is for JP Hofey,
is South Carolina staving all their jews for Coctober or
just fraudulent football team? Hashtarg tear talk.
Speaker 7 (01:39:27):
You already know the answer to that, and Coctober might
start a little early.
Speaker 2 (01:39:33):
Just a few days away from Spootober Boys, a few
days away from.
Speaker 1 (01:39:38):
Get that cock out, Yeah next week, take cock out
early man next week.
Speaker 2 (01:39:43):
Doctor Doozler says, hashtag tear talk. What are the possibilities
built Nebraska and Vanny make the playoffs? I'm thinking pretty
high as of right now.
Speaker 1 (01:39:51):
As of right now, I would say right now I
saw Vandy's I know, if you're a Nebraska fan, I
feel like the possibilities right now are probably sitting around.
Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
Nebraska three and zero, still not ranked. They need to
get ranked to make the playoffs. I like Vandy. If
they keep doing what they're doing, could they win the SEC?
Speaker 1 (01:40:13):
What do they do next year?
Speaker 7 (01:40:16):
Nobody's gonna want to come play for collectly. Yeah, Clark
for sure, maybe even a better quarterback than Pop.
Speaker 2 (01:40:23):
Yeah, I'll say this, but Nebraska ten and two is
still wide open. Everything's right in front of your ten
and two is still there. We got here? Is vice
issues morea McCarthy or the awful old line play. Either way,
it's frustrating to watch so many offensive weapons go to waste.
Little Colum may call him B we talked about earlier.
I think JJ's holding on to the ball a little
(01:40:44):
bit longer. He's taking a little too long to dissect
the defense and make crucial, fast decisions. It is the
offense line, Like, listen, you you've got a there's a
finite amount of time that you have to block for,
and your quarterback needs to get it out. So I
put this more on JJ at this point than I
win in the offensive line.
Speaker 1 (01:40:59):
Yeah what he said Parker hockey coach hockey as someone
who has suffered horrendous toe injuries at will Compton. How
scared should us Bengal fans be?
Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
Also?
Speaker 1 (01:41:12):
If he's out, can you make the call to a
Jameis Winston or Kirko Bangs to get them in stripes?
Hashtag tier talk. I mean, look great, three fully ruptured toe.
Burrow's done. Bengals fans should be scared about this year
if they had like super Bowl hopes, I don't know
if they did have those probably did with Joey b
I tell you what interesting thought, does Kirko have some
(01:41:34):
juice left? Jamis Winston? Did you see his uh his
interview at in the locker room about being QB three,
Like that is as good as it gets. Bro. That
is a player like no matter where you're at on
the roster. And this has been a guy who is drafted.
What was he drafted overall? Was he was one? Overall?
One overall? He's been the guy at spots, He's been
a backup in spots, He's been in every kind of position,
(01:41:55):
like sitting in a position room to where you know
a lot of guys at that point they feel in toil.
They don't you know, when you get to QB three,
do you even care to have the underdog mentality anymore?
Do you want to fight for a position when you
know there's a first round pick coming in out of
Jackson Dark Russell. Wilson's going to be the guy, So
you are going to be the third guy no matter what.
I feel like a majority of guys would want to
get out of that situation. Jamis answer that question and
(01:42:16):
had a perspective as good as any teammate, any athlete
you will ever see, and I strongly recommend any athlete
is that there a special young athlete. Listen to Jamis
Winston talk about playing football and being a good teammate.
Speaker 2 (01:42:27):
It's impossible to hate Jamis Willison.
Speaker 7 (01:42:28):
Impossible. And my favorite part of his answer was like,
this is my first time. We're number nineteen. Yeah, what
a way to connect the dots of like you gotta
be ready for the first time?
Speaker 1 (01:42:38):
Yeah yeah, And he's like everybody wants to be the starter.
I loved it. That was incredible.
Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
Man, This one seems like it's a question for Jack
McPherson Dylan on his core Stormer, why does Will continue
to disrespect the ball's hightag tear talk.
Speaker 6 (01:42:52):
I don't think Will's disrestracted the ball. I think he
took a logical choice taking Georgia. Will's always supported the balls.
There has been a little bit of a fall off
since Eckler left, so we'll monitor that. But I don't
think we'll disrespect the balls. I think he has a
lot of love for him and he just wants to
see a good program be great.
Speaker 1 (01:43:13):
Thank you. That's true, because I didn't know if we
were gonna start going at that. Answer couldn't get been
any better. But I was gonna say, Jack, do you
actually think I'm disrespecting the balls? I don't.
Speaker 6 (01:43:23):
There was a moment in New York at ESPN where
I felt a little slided because of your tone. But
at the end of the day, what did I text
you on Saturday? Said you were right?
Speaker 1 (01:43:34):
Yeah he did, like within minutes of that game being over. Yeah,
I went the best for Balls Nation, I really do,
and my heart was broken.
Speaker 2 (01:43:42):
Matt Malone facetimed me after the first quarter in the stands.
He FACETI, he goes, we're back. I go, okay, Well,
let's hope Georgia doesn't score here.
Speaker 6 (01:43:51):
Well, part of me feels like there's a potential curse
coming from that, because he facetimed me and then showed
me the next drive and Joey Aguilar through his first pick.
So and I said, don't ever call me again and
hung up. Wow, but I was happy to use in
the stadium. Well, and I I could say.
Speaker 1 (01:44:14):
A chef's free game video, you wild bro, Just that's
the chef, that's a that's a balls fan, that's being
that goes beyond the building that I like you. Yeah,
I posted chef tweet that too.
Speaker 6 (01:44:36):
I mean I think quote tweeted. But you gotta get
a boy stepping.
Speaker 1 (01:44:39):
Up on Yeah, I don't know if he did.
Speaker 2 (01:44:43):
Uh deta. Ober twelve, says Hasha Tear talk special guests
for the Rocco Theater. By the way, if you're wondering
Rocco Theater, September nineteenth will confidence birthday. We'll be doing
a live show that is in Lincoln, Nebraska. You get
your tickets at BWTV dot com. Uh special guest. I
think there's gonna be a couple scow yea once announced
(01:45:03):
Josh Pate. There's rumors about their boss would be a
couple more guests as.
