Lions have kind of been wavering, faltering a little bit

in the offensive category. John More and he was calling
the plays that all of a sudden, Dan Campbell takes over.
They got juice of a sudden, They don't got juice.
Cowboys make a big trade at the deadline. They got themselves.
Quentin Williams now their defense is becoming subpar, which is
a huge win for them because their offense is high
flying and rolling. So that is going to be a

Speaker 5 (03:00):
We got breaking news.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
We got breaking news.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
Yeah, thank god opened my phone.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Is this actually a big news?
Speaker 5 (03:05):
Yeah? Well for what we've talked about on yesterday's shows.
In college football, Nebraska just fired John Butler, the defensive coordinator.
This happened like, as I'm looking at it now, three
hours ago, right, I'm seeing it go, I'm seeing it
going everything.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
It happened three hours ago on a Monday. So when
you're watching this, You're like, this is fucking old newsboys,
What are you talking about? That's how shows work when
you record him. Shut up and listen.
Speaker 6 (03:26):
One year is that correct?
Speaker 5 (03:28):
One year will now be looking coach will be looking
for his third decordinator in three years. So we had
Tony White for two or right, I don't know how
long is Oh yeah, rule, you're one and two is
Tony White? Your three was John Butler? So going into
year four will be looking for the third DC.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
What's going through your head? Is this a good move?
Speaker 5 (03:46):
Yeah? I think it's the right move. I look, look,
I hate people getting fired all that stuff, but just
looking at Nebraska football all that, like we clearly were
not we were not that good on defense. Yeah, We're
clearly not that good on defense. And I'm not on
the inside to know all of that stuff. I never, like,
if I'm on phones with coaches or if on phones
on people from the inside, I'm never looking to like, hey,
(04:08):
what is your opinion of this guy? I think he's
kind of blah blah blah. I'm never like doing that,
So I didn't necessarily know like what it was like,
is it talent? Is it scheme? It's like it was
popping up whenever you guys, you know, banged your head
three times without getting touched on the explosives, and then
those continue to happen. If I'm thinking just run scheme,
run fit, it feels like we're just not dialed in
in the front seven and the way we just got
(04:30):
gashed all year in the running game. You know, you
sitt there again without having like this strong and we
should do this, we should do that. It's like, I'm wondering,
what's gonna happen, because if your coach rule and you
got again, you get the extension talked about it, You're
gonna have to make hard decisions at the at the
end of the year. I'm sure he did the self
the self evaluations of everything and thought like, hey, we
gotta we gotta make a move here, so we'll see
(04:53):
what happens.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
The shitty part is is I mean, I don't think
it's actually shitty. Like these coaches they sign up for
these types of things, so like, yeah, we can do
the for his family, sad for all this, but like
at the end of the day, like you have to
either produce or you don't produce. For his job, he
obviously was not producing for all the reasons you said,
But in our reaction show that we shot yesterday, it
really turns into the chessboard that needs to take place
(05:15):
for Nebraska to be a truly competitive team next year.
So to me, this is a great move, like, hey,
wasn't good enough. Got to move on, go find our
guy immediately because we got to get in that transfer
portal to go get these defensive players to be a
competitive defense in the Big Ten who for the large
majority everybody wants to run the football effectively.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Yeah, yeah, that was one move in my head of
if this domino falls, then it's like, all right, we're
looking at ourselves closely enough to feel like, where's the
you know, where's the like a regression, where's the where's
somebody kind of taking us down from that standard a
little bit. If I'm looking at defensively, just what we
put on tape, especially as of late, but all year long,
(05:54):
defense was definitely one where I'm like, fuck man, it
just doesn't seem like a kind of you know, when
he came he came from the Buffalo Bills. I think
he's a secondary coach. He's like a back seven guy.
And when you're getting gashed like that in the run
all your long. It's like, all right, that we just
don't we don't have a guy who's insanely dialed towards
your h your assignment sound, it's pissed, it's vinegar, its mentality,
(06:15):
it's beating the man in front of you. Having the
right structure to kind of set up and allow your
guys to play with the with the right eyes, with
the right vision, with the right feet, with the right striking,
the right violence. All that stuff jumped out. I am
glad that we.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Are, that we made the onward and upward voice onward
and upward. Because we sat here and we talked about
this is the first time we've kind of done the
show where I look at Nebraska in the postseason, Well,
there's not really a hat to hang on about, like
feeling good about the upcoming year, already making moves. Yeah,
So where we can sit there when the portal opens
up January second, go through that six seven day process,
(06:50):
however long it is, maybe a couple of weeks. Yeah,
I say six to seven quite a bit. I just realized,
all right, because you guys are always hitting this anyway,
you're setting yourself up to have that optimism in the
first quarter of twenty six. Yeah, so that's exciting.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
And by the way, six seven I still don't really
know what that is.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
No one does, No one does, even the kids. It's
so funny.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
It's just a reaction. It's just you hear six seven,
let's react to it, right.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Basically, my tailor was given the whole like, that's so
dumb that the kids do this, Like we never did
shit like that. I'm thinking myself, Yes we did.
Speaker 6 (07:23):
There's always been a six seven.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Always been a six to seven. It's just how generations
want to do different shit.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
Yeah, but now we get to kind of kill it
because I want to see the college football Playoff committee
that guy who kind of did the six seven. It's like, okay,
that's that's where we kind of can start to kill
this joke. Yeah, yeah, because it's in the wrong hands. Now,
we're not laughing about this.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Anytime adults over the age of what thirty start doing it.
Let's just say forty start doing that. It'say, buddy, hang
it up. Like at some point you have to accept
that you're no longer the cool generation. Move on. I'm
thirty four. I sit there and I'm like, my social
media life ends with Instagram and Twitter. I still call
(08:01):
it Twitter, And once the next thing comes up, I'm
just gonna be like, I'm bound out. I'm bowing out.
Speaker 6 (08:06):
Kids sitting in front of me.
Speaker 7 (08:07):
The Titans game yesterday, I'm not exaggerating, was hitting the
six seven more than he was not.
Speaker 6 (08:13):
And I was there the whole game.
Speaker 7 (08:16):
And I was just like, and his What what made
me laugh though, is his dad was just like, I
don't know if he was just completely like just numb
to to this point.
Speaker 6 (08:23):
He probably is.
Speaker 7 (08:24):
It's probably just constantly going at the house, but like
he's just allowing it.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
It's just the whole time, he's just sitting there like like.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
This dog that dads. The kids are few years ago,
kids are just freaking out. Then the fucking whatever what
is this thing called gritty? Oh yeah, I'm glad you
picked that up. It's like there's always some ship going down.
Speaker 8 (08:44):
Our generation was the every day I'm shuffling. It felt
like and Soldier Boy crank that Soldier.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Boy and Yola the Superman was a big and the
Yolo thing to me, I was like, this is.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
Yeah, but lean with the rock with it, you know what.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
I'm into that, hey cause he through the phone.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
The age my kids are at right now, like they're
starting to talk like me. Like my kids are like,
oh Dad, I just smacked that food. Oh that's They
like are speaking like me a little bit, and I'm
kind of loving it. I'm loving where we're at.
Speaker 6 (09:23):
Hell.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
I have my two little homies that are just like
like I'll come home and win and Will are like, hey, Daddy,
we want to catch these hands and they like we
go and wrestle and I'm just like throwing them on
and they just like kind of have these little mennerisms.
That's like, oh that's me. Yeah, oh yeah, I smoke
my kids dude. No, they don't say brecky, but uh
oh I said something though. When the other day she goes,
(09:45):
bro what just like what are we talking about? She
like totally got me. You know, in a moment, I
was like, that's me, that is me. We go to
this tree, we to the tree lot last night. I
got a Michigan jacket on. Does anybody want to go
with me? And When's like, I'll go with you. So
she goes upstairs and cants change real quick, comes down
with the hoodie has the hood on over head, and
she goes, hey, Dad, kind of like lean starts of
(10:07):
I'm like, dude, you're the fucking best. So I let
us sit in the front seat, and so we rolled
over the tree lot front seat. Bad dad, move, but
I did it anyway? Have your kids sit in the
front seat. She's like, why can't I sit in the
front seat? I go, you see that right there? You
see your face is at the same level as the dashboard.
Like if we get in a car accent, you're done. Son, Like,
it's what age is? Like, what's the I think it's
(10:29):
more of a height thing. It's more of a hight
thing than it is.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
I think.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
I think you gotta be six seven, have to be.
But I think it's a height. Yeah, it's an age
or a height thing or a weight thing as well,
because it has to hit you in the chest. But
we go weird doing a couple of blocks away, and
there's nothing cooler to a kid nighttime ride, like when
you know what's you and you're just ripping and we're
like talking. I'm like, hey, I might get a truck.
(10:53):
She's like, Oh, what kind of truck are you geting?
I was like, I think I'm gonna get the wrap there.
I think I'm gonna do this, and she's just like,
now she's talking about the kind of trucks she like,
she goes, I think when old, I'm gonna drive a truck.
I'm like, hey, it's I kind of think it's cool
when girls drive trucks. I don't know why. And she goes, yeah,
I'm gonna have a black truck with flames on the side.
I'm like, oh, hell yeah, dude, thinking to myself, I
hope you grow out of that, but whatever, when that's when, Yeah,
(11:15):
the oldest. So it's just dope, dude. It's I don't
even know how I got on this, but it's just
delve with my kids and I yeah, I'm six seven,
I am People are tuning in. Is that giving me?
Speaker 5 (11:31):
Please subscribe?
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah, please subscribe to this. Do you want to about Thanksgiving?
Speaker 5 (11:36):
Thanksgiving was incredible.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Yeah, I think this is my favorite Thanksgiving I think
we've ever had as far as like everyone kind of
enjoying themselves, camaraderie, the everyone visiting, like you're kind of
jumping from group to group.
Speaker 5 (11:50):
A plus bread, yeah, a plus gaming. Werewolf there at
the end. It was. It was a plus. It was
a plus thanksgiving me like a fiddle. Oh I did?
Speaker 6 (12:02):
He did?
Speaker 9 (12:02):
Man, he definitely he got me because I I was
the seer and I'm like, because I don't I don't
know how to quite operate if I am the seer,
because he'll be like, I know this person's not it,
but because then the wherewelse are going to kill you?
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Next?
Speaker 9 (12:16):
So I'm like, hey, I checked Dave, just literally just
shaking my head, and I was.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
Like, I bet I checked this person next.
Speaker 9 (12:23):
Yeah, And then so I'd be like you because.
Speaker 5 (12:26):
Mitch and I had a game before that where we
were both villagers, so we were kind of we had
kind of the bond going.
Speaker 9 (12:30):
Yeah, so I trust I made the mistake and trusted Will,
and he just played me like a fiddle. Next round,
next round, like or I got out and I'm like, who,
why would they have gotten me?
Speaker 5 (12:42):
And then say where wolves wake up? And I just
look over.
Speaker 9 (12:45):
At you and then I uh like Will got out
and like this motherfucker.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
I was so pissed off.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Dude, Will kind of got me on one do. I
started to sniff it out a little bit, but I
didn't didn't trust my instincts of we started around and
Will was a werewolf. But Will immediately is like playing
like buddy buddy with me, like we're boys the same round,
and I'm I'm starting to think like, oh sweet, like
we're on the same team. But then a piece of
me like I think it went into the second round
(13:12):
brought up like the way people are killing. It's like, well,
this is like Will in town. I'm I'm thinking, yeah,
he's right, like that is kind of you would go
and get somebody that no one's really comfortable with that
knowing kill Ryan's sister right away, which which is a
smart move because like then the fingers start getting pointed
at who's most comfortable Ryan's sister, and then you get
(13:33):
Mike next, and I'm thinking to myself, yeah, that would
be a move we would make. So I'm starting to
look at Will like, oh, how am I starting to
trust you? But yeah, and then you start and then
Will and Tailing start getting everybody. Taylor is like, yeah,
I think Taylor might be the guy too, and I'm
it started like click in my head like oh, I
(13:53):
think this is the Will is a werewolf and maybe
Taylor as well. But by that time I was too
far gone to people were turned on me. So I
get killed to Photadelphia Island on my house. This field guys,
and I'm the pedestrian, the villager, and we'll go stick around.
You'll find who the well we'll were wolves are on
a second and everyone goes to sleep and it's where
wolves wake up. And Will just goes and looks at me,
(14:14):
and I'm like and I look over and it's Tailor,
and I'm like, these motherfuckers. I sniffed them. I had them.
I just was too late. It was a good move.
It was nice, it was fun.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
It was fun.
Speaker 5 (14:26):
It was a fun night, fun day.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Matt's dad and I we just went over there, like
twenty thirty minutes, bonded over gout. He went through it.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
He was everybody bonded with Matt's dad.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah, Matt's dad is the man, dude, John Big J
J Train, yea J Train, that's what they call him,
Jay Train.
Speaker 5 (14:44):
They're telling those stories on their son Mad that he
came out of the Moomies a little sideways. Yeah, yeah,
just stretch them out. He's screaming.
Speaker 9 (14:50):
You're about to get a text from I know.
Speaker 5 (14:52):
They're like, don't say this. On the pod.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
I won't.
Speaker 9 (14:55):
It was so funny because I won't.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Here we are.
Speaker 9 (14:57):
The Malones were just like as much as we kind
of dig on Matt, like in like a loving way,
like they were kind of doing the same thing.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Oh yeah, they were bodying Mat a little bit. It's
kind of nice, Like.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
You tell me he's going to the NHL, and buddy,
what are you talking about. You ain't going to the NHL.
You ain't got the skill, you ain't got the size.
And he just telling me, I swear to god, He's like,
look at you now.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
That's so funny. But yeah, Thanksgiving was awesome. Yeah, it was.
It was a good time.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
Man.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Foul was there. Foul I think he handled himself really well.
Speaker 6 (15:28):
Yeah, you guys, I was.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I was racking my brain before they showed up because
Mitch and Foul are usually the first people to show up,
which is awesome, But before they got there, I'm like,
how am I going to act around Foul? Because last
time I saw him he was like acting like we
didn't know each other. Was so weird, so weird. So
I thought, oh, maybe I'll do a bit where it's
like hey are we boys? Like who are you and
I decided I'm not even gonna play into that at all.
(15:51):
Thanksgiving Wills have fun and Foul showed up, but he
was totally normal. I'm like, I guess you must have
given him talking.
Speaker 9 (15:57):
Yeah, when we were driving over, I'm like, hey, like
you need to DAPT tailor up give him just like
the most over the top DAP, like, hey, nice to see, Like, yeah,
I apologize for being weird last time, and he didn't.
I don't think I wouldn't assume that he apologize.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
What happened, dude?
Speaker 2 (16:13):
When we were at the Titans watch party at the Cardinals,
like we go, we do the thing, and we go
up to the lit Larry the little bowling area, and
Foul walks up to me and kind of acts like
we don't know each other, Like I think he reintroduced
himself or he did something weird.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
He shook your hand.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Yeah, he shook my hand like introducing himself for like
talking like we're just meaning for the first time. And
in my brain I'm like, bro, is this foul? But
the way he's acting, I'm like, this must not be foul,
must be like a doppelgamer. And so I kind of
walk away and then Mitch is walking by.
Speaker 9 (16:40):
Hey, you called? You called me over. I'm like, hey,
come here.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Yeah, I'm like, you know, is that Foul? And he's
like yeah. I'm like that was the weirdest interaction I've
ever had, because I've met him numerous a bunch of times. Yeah,
like we're friends.
Speaker 9 (16:52):
Now he's been at your house.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Been in my house multiple years in a row. And
the way he was asking me, I was like, that
was so odd. And Mitch was like, yeah, I'll get
down the bottom with that's fucking weird.
Speaker 9 (17:03):
You walked Away'm like, what the fuck was that?
Speaker 2 (17:05):
I was just like it was so odd, But yeah,
we were fine, and he and I sat down to
and I didn't realize he was the Susquehanna as well
played football there. It all comes back down to that
he's dating a girl he was about to move to
Pittsburgh correct Philly and breaks up with the girls with
the moving with her, and so that's he calls Mitch
and he's like, Yo, what's Nashville? Like it was like,
(17:25):
nash was awesome, you should come down here. And that's
essentially what got Foul to move to Nashville because he
wasn't taking the job in Philly.
Speaker 9 (17:31):
I'm the reason he moved down here, but he refuses.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
To say that.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Yeah, oh he said that to me, so you'll have that.
I guess this is word of mouth, but I'm just
letting you know. So it was. It was nice, man.
It was a good hangout, good everything food, I know.
But the baby, Jilly Bean, she was able to come.
She got off work early.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
That was big time. That was big time.
Speaker 8 (17:52):
That whole evening or afternoon into evening was so much fun.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
Much needed.
Speaker 8 (17:59):
Loved that at both Ryan and Matt brought their family.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
It was so much fun.
Speaker 8 (18:05):
Getting to talk to Ryan's mom like that was.
Speaker 5 (18:07):
That was the highlight.
Speaker 8 (18:08):
She's a sweet She was holding court at the end
of the table, making us laugh, telling us stories about
when Ryan was a baby. He would run a room
with those baby blues. I'd bring him in there and
Ryan's just sitting there like mom. It is incredible.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Her and I were talking about just kids and the
kids are ripping around like Delaney and Ernest's kid. What's
his fucking r ryman, He's like wrestling me on the ground.
Then HAPs coming over here and I are wrestling Wind
comes over, slaps me on the button, runs away and
I go, hey, do you ever miss the being this age?
She deep best. She's like, not at all. I don't
(18:48):
miss it at all. Oh really, this is Awestra. I
love this and she starts going into the relationship with
her and her kids. They seem like they have a
great family dynamic.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
The sister was awesome, very nice. Yeah yeah, super sweet.
So yeah, great Thanksgiving, Jack, How was your Thanksgiving? You
went to Atlanta?
Speaker 5 (19:05):
It was great. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (19:05):
I went visiting my sister and her husband.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
There are two kids on Atlanta.
Speaker 7 (19:09):
My brother in law's basketball coach for Gwinnett College Georgia.
Gwinnett College is what it's called. They have kind of
a busy season at the moment, so we went down there,
tried to alleviate some of their traveling. I had but
the best, you know, standard Thanksgiving. Everything was great, hung
out with the family.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Watch football, did all that cool stuff. But my oldest niece.
Speaker 7 (19:31):
Just turned three yesterday. Actually, happy Blady.
Speaker 6 (19:33):
Birthday is he.
Speaker 7 (19:35):
This was the first time because she lives in a
different state where I felt like I like made a
breakthrough with her.
Speaker 6 (19:40):
She it didn't take like.
Speaker 7 (19:42):
That kind of twelve hour eighteen hour periods where she
starts to acknowledge, Oh, I'm your uncle or you're my uncle.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
You know we're cool.
Speaker 7 (19:51):
I don't have to have my mom close to me
if we're going to be around, and I think she's
honestly exiting her terrible twos. And then my sister sent
me this video when I had gotten back from Asheville
on Friday, and it was just like a secret video
of filming my knees and she was just like essentially
saying that she loved me a lot and she missed me,
and I was like, man, that's that's really all I
(20:12):
ever wanted.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
And then my.
Speaker 7 (20:13):
Youngest niece, Quinn, is like running around now talking and
kind of gibberish. But felt like I made a really
big breakthrough with my nieces, which felt good, and just
hanging with the family is always good.
Speaker 6 (20:23):
So yeah, good good and.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Somebody else's kid to like really buy into you, it's
such a great feeling. And like I felt like I
kind of had that with Rue this weekend when she
came over, Like she came over and apparently she was
like really excited to see Willow.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
Will talks about it. She talks about winning Willow like
driving over, she gets all excited. Like even the next day,
we're dropping off. She made she baked cookies for a
couple of her friends. She went like dropped him off.
But she's like even trigger treat going drop himself off,
going around people. She she she is super shy where
she won't talk at first. I'm just like, hey, sweetheart,
you gotta you just strong, have a big smile on
(20:56):
your face. So when she got in and when she
hadn't seen Will, yeah, but Win comes over and Win's
talking to her. He's kind of just like standing there
with a little soft smile and stuff of my sweet
you're talking about Winn all the way over here.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Yeah here she is? He yeah, right there.
Speaker 5 (21:08):
When it's like I like your dress and was just
kind of like smiling and stuff, go ahead and rip around.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
I love it. And then well yeah, so when they
get there, there's like ten kids upstairs in the attic
playing because we have like this whole massive setup, and
I'm with Will and Charlet. I'm looking at her room.
Hey do you want me to take you up there?
So he's just me and Rue and then we get
like the first set of stairs and there's like a
little horse she wants to ride the horse. So I
take the horse upstairs with us, and it's just me
and her, and she's like getting more comfortable. She's asking
(21:35):
questions about the horse, how the horse works. It's like,
what's this's like we gotta pump, like you gotta pump
they like get it to move. And then she's going
she's like going straight to the walls, like no, you
gotta direct yourself. And so we're having fun. Then I
take her upstairs to the attic area, and all the kids,
like Natalie. Her oldest son, Cato kid is ten out
of ten, twelve year old, like he is very he
(21:58):
includes all the other kids. He's right up playing with
all of them. I always praise my children, like being
really good with younger kids, and so like all the
kids kind of stop. I introduced Rue. She's very uncomfortable
at first, so I'm like showing her the dolls, say
if you want to play by yourself, you can kind
of this is your little area. But I left her
up there for a minute and she was just having
a fucking blast.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
Yeah. Then by the end of it, the damn horse too.
Like when it's it's beyond bedtime or whatever, kids are
kind of breaking down a little bit. I see Rue
crying in the hallway and she's got like her she's
got her waters, she's drinking her water and she's just
crying and she's like pumping, and it's we gotta go home.
Speaker 2 (22:33):
Yeah. Like that, that is the clearest like Christmas present
from Uncle Taylor. Ever, It's gonna be one of those
horses like from Uncle Taylor. The whole thing, dude. When
we were playing where Wolf and Charles like doing the
whole thing, uh, and then the baby Scotty's like screaming
her face off. It's like everybody go to sleep, and
she's still like holding court and then we wait alonger
(22:54):
so Jar can play a couple of games. Scotty just screaming,
screaming her face off, dude.
Speaker 9 (22:59):
And Ryan Ryman, I'm the way Wolf, He's the way.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Ryman as a psycho.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
Everybody trying to rip with their kids and control the
kids trying to play. Let's getting the way everybody go
to sleep.
Speaker 9 (23:11):
He ended up like I ended up just wrestling with
Ryman for a little bit and it was just jumping
over me. I'm like, as long as Ernest is school
with this I'm fine with it.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
Oh, bro like that that he Ryman is a boy
straight up. Just say he's a menace. And I mean
that in a good way. Like when I see him,
we do this like little coffee bit we didn't Florida
one time. I was like day, I was like, don't
you take my coffee? And he like try to do it.
So the minute I see him, like, got my coffee
and he tries to snatch it, and then it's just
him going fists all around my crotch. He's like right
(23:39):
at the angle where he just does this and it's
like thank god, it's a small target, like he is
barely missing my.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
He's one of those boys. It's always like ready to fight.
It's kind of like all right, Ryman, Yeah, yeah. I
came over. He's trying to like wrestle and he's like
you want to wrestle, and I said you can try,
and uh then he kind of just went away because
I was like giving him a look like I kind
of don't want you to wrestle me right now.
Speaker 8 (24:00):
I love personalities like his. I saw him go up
to six different people and go what are you doing,
just getting like right in their face and like instigating conversation.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
Yeah, he was funny.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
I'll tell you who was on man is Earnest. We
were playing Worldful. He had some one liners during the
whole thing, and so fun He's the werewolf we don't know,
and he's like, Hey, can the world just commit suicide?
Speaker 1 (24:23):
No?
Speaker 2 (24:23):
I don't think so. He's like, ah, fuck, dude, he
was everybody off the game. He was on one during
that game. Start doing that in old English voice, talking
about killing people.
Speaker 6 (24:34):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
During Thanksgiving, we're sitting there right after the meal and
we find out that we're on the college football game,
Yeah twenty six.
Speaker 5 (24:41):
Which is c if BE Ultimate Team Cards, So, which
is amazing. Shout out eya Sports.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Shout out EA sports. I'll say this, since we've started
this podcast, I feel like the vision of me as
a football player has kind of done this. Like people
people forget about the dominance that took place all seventy
seven in college in the NFL. They kind of forget,
and the exact opposite has happened with Will. Like I'm
(25:08):
not trying to be disrespectful, but like Will's trajectory of
our careers, we've kind of done this in a lot
of ways and it's like, Hey, how sick We're in
the ultimate game. That's amazing. Yeah, but then we're both
the same. We're the same as far.
Speaker 5 (25:24):
As remember how I made them feel with my play
on the field, and I feel like it's finally getting
the respected dessert.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Now two time All American, three time All Big Ten,
two times Big Ten Offense Linemen of the Year, and
Will and I were the same. What was ninety second
overall second team All Big Ten? Well, it was an
eighty nine with the impact Player Star.
Speaker 5 (25:48):
People forget Man, but for the same they forget the
New Year six. They forget the New Year six. Yeah,
back when it was the Bowl games and you had
the New Year six. The New Year six was named
after my picks against the Georgia Bulldogs in twenty or thirteen.
Since there's Jane one, Yeah.
Speaker 9 (26:05):
I think the crazy part is that Will Speed is
in ninety one.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
Yeah, what is crazy about that?
Speaker 2 (26:14):
I think we poked enough holes in that we poked
enough holes in Will's four or fives?
Speaker 5 (26:19):
What do you mean poked enough holes?
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Like that's says we keep going. It's kind of like
like four five six, five six laser. It wasn't laser.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
We could call Dobson up right now.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
I know he's getting ready for the playoffs, no doubt, Dabbs,
I know he's got it.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
Documented. There was a there was a young man from
bond Ter missouris sitting up on the ten yard dash
Nebraska records wall with a one point four to seven
in a ten yard split. Who was Willy See Man?
Speaker 2 (26:47):
So yeah, I just my name's getting drug a little bit.
It's just a little bit, but you know, I respect
the Will's career.
Speaker 5 (26:54):
I just have gratitude that I'm on the game, no doubt.
If they wanted to, as you should, put old Willy
C in the game. You can get.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Such what is not in the game.
Speaker 6 (27:06):
Hell, oh, I got it.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
We gotta do something about security on this bus.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Man.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
THEO just pops up. We're here. Hello. But yeah, man,
it is dope to be in the game.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
Yeah, this is awesome. I don't even know how it works.
Is it like you have like Ultimate Team and you
open up different card packets or something like that.
Speaker 9 (27:28):
The way it works is like it's like you get
these trading cards per se, like your car, your guys card.
You open up a pack it's like, oh, no, ship,
I got like the ninety four Will Compton Like now
now like you'll have Will Compton starting next to Navarro
Bowman from Penn State, and like, uh, who's like Jalen
Ramsey at safety from Florida State. Like you're just it's
(27:49):
just kind of like collecting all of like the past
players and like building like the ultimate team, like the
best possible team.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
And you can play or it was just like a
card thing.
Speaker 9 (27:59):
No, it's so you like you take your ultimate team
and go against different ultimate teams and there's like tournaments
and prizes and ship that you can do. I I
used to be into it for a little bit, but
then it's like as soon as the game comes out,
people put two three hundred dollars into the game and
then they all have they automatically have the best players,
and it's like it's not even fun anymore. It's like
(28:22):
it is a it's like a big deal. So it's
like it is really cool that you guys are in it.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Let's just juice me up, juices up, let's go. Man,
we how we feel? Is there anything else we want
to go over before we get in this awesome podcast
with Diego Po.
Speaker 5 (28:37):
Yeah, we got Diego Pavia and Cade McConnell. Theo Von
comes on the bus and joins the boys. We talk Heisman,
we talk college well playoffs with Vanderbilt their season. It's
a fun episode, Clark Lee his extension. We have all
those fun things, dude. Another thing, by the way, Stranger Thing, bro, Now.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Is it started?
Speaker 5 (29:02):
It awesome?
Speaker 9 (29:04):
Do you watch all four?
Speaker 5 (29:05):
Yeah? All four? Ready for Christmas?
Speaker 9 (29:08):
That that final scene of.
Speaker 6 (29:11):
Wait, don't say anything, you please, donize anything. I'm on.
Speaker 7 (29:13):
I'm going into episode four, so I will get off.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
You got it.
Speaker 9 (29:17):
It's just yeah, electric electric.
Speaker 5 (29:21):
Super saying oh yeah, oh, I'm with you. Have you
ever started Stranger.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
Have you seen the whole thing of Stranger Things? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (29:31):
Yes, Okay, So you're like, I have not seen the
very last episode that is currently available. They're doing season
five and two installments, so one of four episodes and
then one of four episodes.
Speaker 6 (29:41):
So I've seen the first three of the first installment
of season five. I'll finish it by tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (29:47):
And big opportunity for people who haven't watched it. You
get on, you get to binge it now because it's
the final season. Yes, in the last the last installment
of the episodes come out on Christmas Day.
Speaker 6 (29:58):
Oh is that fifth?
Speaker 5 (29:59):
Yeah, twenty fifth, that'll be fun. It's good man. They've
crushed with this last season so far.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
My kids are obsessed with the commercials right now between
football games. And there's that Discover card one that has
like the Stranger Things and that was a full twenty
minute breakdown about why there's aliens and fires.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it got some gordinous.
Speaker 6 (30:18):
And does it.
Speaker 7 (30:19):
Yeah, they said there's the most gruesome Martinly kill in
the I don't know if it's already happened again, don't
want to know, but the director said that they have
the most gruesome kill of the whole series in this season.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
So yeah, you.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Guys want a good piece of like nostalgia, like watching
a show that you've never seen before but like gives
you nostalgia. Sopranos. I'm in the middle of watching that
right now, and just the time period it took place,
knowing that like Sopranos was really the first show ever
to kind of like start start everything that took place,
like the Entourage and the streaming, like it kind of
(30:51):
like kickstarted all this like culture TV. Yeah, culture of
TV that we kind of live in now and it's fun.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
It's a fun little watch if you're ever in and
get into it. Yeah, Sobranos a little slower, but it's fun.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
It's been hard for me to get into because I've
never seen it either. I think I'm like in the
middle of season two somewhere last time when I was
trying to watch it. That's someone I was trying to
watch it. Oh I ended up dude, Family Stone, How okay?
Would you think I liked it? That was a massive
twister at the end. Yeah, likebody getting the they just
(31:23):
make a flop a switch.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
That's wild.
Speaker 5 (31:27):
Right.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
Then the next Christmas it's like, oh we used to fuck,
but now we fuck.
Speaker 5 (31:30):
Yeah, it's crazy. Who's what's on? Wilson's brother Willis He's great,
He's great. Yeah, Yeah, I just watched it over the weekend.
It was like our first Christmas movie that we we
threw on Trofell Sleep Like right away, did you get.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
A little teary eye with the mom?
Speaker 5 (31:48):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
I watched it do.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
That movie is.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
So sad but incredibly heartwarming at the same time.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Yeah, was it on? It's It's just a movie, So like, yeah,
I think we went on Prime.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Yeah, but it's great.
Speaker 6 (32:05):
It was.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
It would technically be like a holiday rom com.
Speaker 5 (32:08):
It just arom com.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Yeah no, no, it's it's uh it makes you want
to list.
Speaker 5 (32:14):
They're introducing the girl to the family. They got all
their little inside Yeah, they got all their little inside dramas.
A nice litt twist at the end.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
Hey, how about the girl twist?
Speaker 5 (32:25):
Is just like I just feel like it would never happen.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Yeah, it only works in Hallmark movies. Yeah, like that
would be such a weird that the most.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
Awkward thing, yeah, of all time. And it's like you
got a little freak flag hanging from Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
But how about when they're at the dinner table and
the dad slams his hands. Uh stop yeah yeah, yeah,
I'm not trying too much, but that conversation makes you
want to get out of your own skin. So uncomfortable.
But yeah, bro, it's a great movie.
Speaker 8 (32:58):
That was one of if you look back the cast,
it's crazy to think that obviously, like Luke Wilson very
big now, but Rachel McAdams, that was like one of
her very first.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Rachel Adam is that the girl in Whatshers? Ye yes, yeah, okay, yeah, yeah,
I'm not great with names, but then you know that one.
I know that movie.
Speaker 6 (33:19):
I think of the other love interests.
Speaker 5 (33:22):
Her name I forget yeah from like the New York Show.
Oh well, Sarah Jessica Parker.
Speaker 8 (33:28):
But Claire Danes Claire Danes as well.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Yeah, like good with names.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
Brother, she's an iron man, right, no, thank you? Looks
similar to looks similar, looks similar. We got our True
our True Classic Goooner of the month. We do our

get some money in their pocket. A little bonus.
Speaker 2 (34:03):

Speaker 2 (35:02):

Kid's been on fire.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
It was the closest race. There were a lot of
names that came from some people didn't even vote.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
Yeah, that's kind of crazy. Yeah, it's like, hey, get
your votes out to Will and Taylor. I think we
got like what six of them?
Speaker 5 (35:17):
Uh yeah? Six eight? All right? Match, you did it?
You texted, you shot a text. A lot of names
don't pass around, but Ran Nolan had the majority.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
How many guys probably texted like six seven eight? Yeah, dude,
congrats to Brian Nolan always see is he coming on
the bus?
Speaker 6 (35:36):
I texted him.
Speaker 5 (35:37):
He has yet to reply.
Speaker 6 (35:39):
We could probably wrap.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
We could probably wrap. We gotta get out of here, man,
we gotta go. And plus I got a call in
ten minutes.
Speaker 6 (35:45):
Spend six hours.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
We spent six hours in the bus yet again, recording
for six hours. It's a lot, man, it's a lot.
Is there anything we want to get off our chest?
Speaker 5 (35:56):
No, definitely. Thank you to everybody who shopped on Black
Friday or Black Friday Sale. I was talking to Garrett
last week. The sales started at twenty percent, and I
was kind of like, why are we doing twenty percent?
I thought now that we're now that we're away from
the the barstool universe, because we were tired of doing
twenty percent, It's like, we can do more percentage now,
like that feels more like a holiday Black Friday sale morning,
He's like, what number are you thinking? I was like, oh,
(36:17):
I have no clue. I'm just questioning. I thought we
were gonna go up from twenty percent last year the
last few years we did it, and so he's like,
let's do thirty. I was like, boom, I'm in and
then I come to find out, surprise, surprise, we did.
Cyber Monday was thirty five percent. So thank you for
everybody shopping. Means a lot to the boys, and get
to spread the good news. Spread good news of busting
with the boys.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
Just get more people in the merch man mob. Be
on the merch walking down the street. Somebody sees another
guy in merchant. Hey, buddy, look at that. Oh yeah,
look at that. Hey how about that Will? It's crazy.
He's the same as the boy Taylor in the Ultimate
Game I know in that Vulgan Notts and they just
have a good time. It's just a good little time, dude.
That's how you make relationships. Just the boys, just the
boys hanging out being boys. Man. So yes, thank you
everybody who did that. Unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (36:58):
Ryan said he's coming in one second.

them while they are still outside your home, before they've
had a chance to do any damage. They tell them
on camera, and then they and that the police will
be dispatched if they do not leave. You're going to
going to sleep at night, You're laying your head on
the pillow. You got kids, you got family, hell, you
got a dog that you want to keep safe. Why
not go the extra mile and go simply safe right now?

Our two guests, One individual who worked for Busting with
the Boys over the summertime. Another individual who has found himself,
(41:11):
in my opinion, as a Heisman Trophy front runner. Kate McConnell.
Diego pavia around with Boster Boys.
Speaker 5 (41:19):
Hey, what are the anchors of that incredibly good offensive line?
Kate mcconne, Yes, anchor.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
He went viral this year? Well you get I mean?
Was that one of your greatest accomplishments is working for
Busting with the Boys? Was it the most fun you've
ever had in your life?
Speaker 1 (41:35):
It, honestly, as of right now, is probably top three.
So it was a good time.
Speaker 6 (41:41):
So this kid would come back to practice by bro
busting with the boys' best and he would just fucking
brag on you guys all day that practice. It was
like hard to focus. And then he talked about his girlfriend,
of course, and that's when it got annoying.
Speaker 5 (41:55):
So Ka's go to and practice.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
Is Cad, an offensive lineman that like bitches about everything.
Speaker 6 (42:02):
Everything and think about this, so like, we'll go hurry
We'll go hurry up. And sometimes like, uh, it was
our last game against I think it was Auburn and
we just get the first down. It's like fourth and three,
and I didn't want them to review it because I
don't know if we got it, so I went hurry up.
We're in an extra old line, six old line package,
(42:23):
and we have no birth place for a six old
line package, so I call this. There's six old linemen
and I'm trying to move someone on the ball. So
it's a legal play, you know, And anyway time runs out,
we call time out. He's like, what the fuck are
we doing?
Speaker 5 (42:37):
Bro?
Speaker 6 (42:38):
What the fuck is coach calling to me?
Speaker 5 (42:40):
Right?
Speaker 6 (42:41):
So I'm like, hey, just shut the fuck.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Up, bro. Yeah, he pisces me off a little bit,
but you gotta love him and you have to do
what he says or you're in trouble. But then you
get in trouble forretting mad at what he says even
if it's wrong.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
Is thee other type of quarterback that just says whatever
he wants during practice and the coaches don't say nothing
to him about it.
Speaker 1 (43:02):
No, he gets in trouble, but it's almost like it
doesn't matter sometimes.
Speaker 6 (43:06):
But that's like, no, I get in trouble.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
Yeah, he's speaking of getting in trouble. Does Clark Lee
know you're here?
Speaker 1 (43:12):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (43:12):
Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah you guys. Uh yeah, it's like
I think.
Speaker 5 (43:19):
A couple of people might know.
Speaker 6 (43:21):
KATEK Shiner, yeah, k yeah, all right, coach knows this time.
Speaker 5 (43:27):
How are you boys? Matter of dude? Shane's called me twice.
I'm gonna tell him that we're talking about how Vandy
should get in over note to day, Shane Gillis is
called twice.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Oh w I uh so we're.
Speaker 5 (43:44):
Oh sorry, we're shooting a pod right now? Bro and
our boy? Can I FaceTime you? H sure? It's unbelievable?
Is he mad?
Speaker 2 (43:53):
You did an answer?
Speaker 5 (43:54):
Yeah, he's mad? You changed, dude. We're sitting here. Diegle
Poppy is in the middle of an answer on why
Vanderbilt should be in the playoffs over Notre Dame.
Speaker 6 (44:07):
It don't have to be just put us in. What's
the guy's second ten and two in the sec? Yeah,
she's a smart man. He'll crack some jokes, but at
least he's smart.
Speaker 5 (44:21):
He If it comes down to you of Vandy, he
ain't taking.
Speaker 6 (44:26):
Yeah, and it comes down to us in Notre Dame.
I didn't taking Notre Dame either.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
Who wins?
Speaker 5 (44:31):
Who wins?
Speaker 2 (44:32):
Who wins in a game? Notre Dame of Vannerbelt?
Speaker 6 (44:34):
What do we all like to know? Do a playing
I don't know, a.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
Plan, A top heisman contender? The other one guy that's drunk.
We're just we were just shooting that. We were in
the middle of the pod. I felt it happen. I
(44:59):
was like, your name. But Diego is sitting here and
answered the question talking about something. I'm not just gonna
interrupt him and answer the phone. I gotta be respectful.
All you want me?
Speaker 1 (45:13):
You want me to that?
Speaker 5 (45:15):
All right? Love you.
Speaker 6 (45:19):
Talk to you later.
Speaker 5 (45:19):
Brother.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
What did he call for?
Speaker 5 (45:24):
Who knows? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
Drunk. Like, what one in the afternoon on a Monday.
Speaker 5 (45:29):
What time is it?
Speaker 2 (45:31):
Yeah, it's like one. That is hilarious.
Speaker 6 (45:34):
Well, we're talking about you get along really well with
my brothers.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
We're sitting here in the summertime. Jack walks off the bus.
You go, Hey, we're going to run Tennessee at the
end of this whole entire thing. This is pre season.
We're gonna run it after we're done. All we have
to do is win this year, and then it's a
wrap from that because we're gonna have all the ni
l in the entire world and we're gonna run Tennessee.
You've essentially backed up your game. How does that feel?
(46:01):
The color shot?
Speaker 6 (46:03):
Well, one, I don't know what you guys thought when
I first said that, though.
Speaker 5 (46:07):
So when you walked when you left the shop and
you were talking about national title all this stuff, I
was like, Vandy, you about to get about to get
figured out. I did not think you guys would be
in the position that you're in. I didn't mind the
banter of the end state stuff because I wasn't Jack.
How did you guys' record end up ninety three, eight
(46:29):
and four? Like I was like, you know, It's not
like I was extremely high on Tennessee. So that that
that banter us getting to watch in ESPN showing that
clip while you guys are playing in that game was
all time. But yeah, when you walked away from the shop,
I was like, it's while you're cashing trying to cast checks.
I don't think he can that they can you know,
back up.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
Landed that plane? Yeah my last year check.
Speaker 5 (46:54):
Yeah he got there catching jack Z can't write like
right Jackie?
Speaker 2 (46:57):
Yeah yeah, yeah, he ain't got the money.
Speaker 1 (47:00):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
My thought was, I thought you were a great runner
last year, and because of that, you put yourself an
opportunity to throw. This year, you developed as a thrower.
I thought you got a lot a lot better at
the deep BALLI you became a much more well rounded
quarterback because I thought like the way you guys operated
last year was like backyard football and that eventually is
gonna get figured out by high flying defenses. This year,
(47:25):
every single game you guys were in, I mean the
Alabama game, you guys, we guys up early in that one.
Speaker 6 (47:30):
Yeah, we were up.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
You're up roaring that one. Texas seemed like it was
starting to be a blowout. You guys. Everyone's saying, hey,
Vanderbilt can't come from behind. You guys came from behind
and almost won the whole thing, almost got the the
on side kick as well. So yeah, like I did
not think what happened this year, what ended up happening
this year was going to happen.
Speaker 6 (47:47):
Well, I think one we got the Joe Moore Joe
Moore Award winners in the locker room, so that's the
best thing about it. And I think they said the
tone obviously, and then that's how it just became so easy.
We had the skill players all along, it was just, uh,
do we have enough time to get them the ball?
(48:08):
And this year we do.
Speaker 5 (48:09):
Even defensively, you guys have played well.
Speaker 6 (48:11):
Oh yeah, dude, our defense. They single handedly wanted the
game against Missouri single handedly.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
Yeah. I mean that was quite the bar and burner.
But now we sit here.
Speaker 5 (48:23):
First, Yeah, you guys run the state of Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (48:27):
Snuck it in.
Speaker 5 (48:34):
Katie's asking you what you saying? Sorry, I said, so
you guys run the state of Tennessee. Going back to
tennis quecially, how's it feel knowing you called your shot?
Speaker 1 (48:42):
I think after that podcast, I had to defend us
a little bit after he left, because I think I
was getting the flat that that y'all wish you could
have gave him when he was here. Yeah, uh no,
I mean I agree with it. I agreed with it
when he said it, and so I'm just glad that
that it happened and everything came true that we knew
was gonna Imagine if.
Speaker 6 (48:59):
It didn't, though, you know, yeah, that'd be rough. I
guess we'll never know.
Speaker 1 (49:03):
I guess do you?
Speaker 2 (49:06):
So are you saying Vanderbilt runs the state of Tennessee.
Speaker 6 (49:09):
I just think like from here on out, like we
have the anil money one coach Lee staying.
Speaker 2 (49:16):
Which is wild. I thought he was gonna leave, which
is huge.
Speaker 6 (49:20):
And uh dude, now you're able to recruit anywhere around
the country any five star, four star Like before this year,
like you weren't able to bring in those prospect to games.
Now you see freaking some of the biggest prospects at
our football games.
Speaker 5 (49:35):
What is you?
Speaker 1 (49:35):
Are you?
Speaker 5 (49:36):
How how much do you play hand? And knowing that
this is your last year play hand and recruiting some
of these guys like oh yes, success or a quarterback,
It's like you can't talk about Vanderbilt football over the
last two years without you, without Diego Pavia, and I
know that there there's talks out there of some some
five star cat like flipping his commitment to come be
the quarterback of Vanderbilt. Like are you ever into where
(49:56):
you're like pitching the brand and pitching like what this
place is like without you being here?
Speaker 6 (50:01):
Oh yeah, I uh. I pitched it to Jared Curtis
when when I got to see him on one of
our bye weeks. I went to one of his games,
and do that kid's arm is live.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
He is nasty.
Speaker 6 (50:14):
You guys are gonna see his kid and he's gonna
take the college football world by storm. But he has to,
uh he had he has to beat out Blaze. And
that's what has to come down to Blaze is he's
been with us in New Mexico State and two years
here at Bandy. He's gonna have his shot and it's
gonna be when there's competition and levels everyone up.
Speaker 5 (50:33):
You know.
Speaker 6 (50:33):
Yeah, so I think that'll be great.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
I love it. Yeah, this is the kid right here.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
That's about that haircut.
Speaker 6 (50:40):
No, I haven't should we no, let him live, let
him let him if he plays football good like that
let him play.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
Yeah, yeah, yep.
Speaker 5 (50:50):
How do you guys feel right now being positioned on
the outside looking into the college footble playoff, because clearly
there's chaos everywhere. You guys have a great win over
the weekend against Tennessee, see the stuff going on with Like,
you know, Alabama's in the SEC Championship against Georgia. Ole
Miss is one loss team, just got gutted with their
offensive staff. Lane going to Lane going to Ole Miss.
You got yeah, yeah, Lane going to LSU. You got
(51:13):
Texas making massive arguments now being a three loss SEC team.
Who else is in that mix? It's Texas, Van Dy Miami, Miami. Yeah,
you're you're You're in all these spots, Notre Dame as
a two loss. You don't know what's gonna happen. Like,
how do you guys feel sitting here today? Ten and
two with your guys' resume.
Speaker 6 (51:29):
You gotta put us in. Yeah, there's no other ten
and two set team that's not in, you know, And
you look at our losses too, not saying losses are
fine or whatever, but we played Texas, who beat the
number three team in the nation A and M. The
other night at Texas you know, and then you look
at Alabama. They're in the SEC Championship like we have.
We were the best two loss team in the country.
Speaker 1 (51:51):
We didn't lose at home either, Like, those are both
away games that we lost in two hard environments too.
I don't think there's two better losses anywhere now, these
neutral fits.
Speaker 5 (52:00):
But with the two losses, who are your two losses
to Texas? Alabama in Texas and so Texas's.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
Argument is we beat Vanny, So if Vanny's gonna get in,
we should get should we should get in over Vandy?
Speaker 6 (52:12):
Well, Willie and say they beat A and MS, they
get over A and M.
Speaker 5 (52:16):
A and M is gonna get in.
Speaker 6 (52:19):
A MS in the.
Speaker 5 (52:20):
Georgia ways, Georgia.
Speaker 1 (52:23):
Florida get in now, Like that's kind of the argument,
Oh this Florida.
Speaker 5 (52:27):
I don't know if that one's gonna work.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
The head to head stuff is like if you're pinching pennies,
you got it.
Speaker 6 (52:34):
I just think too, we're the hottest team right now.
You go look at stats like, we're the hottest team
right now in college football.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
The argument too, if you keep Texas out, is why
would you ever schedule a big time game in the
first part of your season. Well, like Texas lost to
Ohio State, that's out of conference. State's the number one
team in the country. And so Texas is not in
the playoff because they played Ohio State Week one.
Speaker 5 (53:00):
They're also not in because they lost to Florida. Right
when you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
If Texas a two lost team, they're in, right, They're
in no matter what because brand logo everything, Like I
think the basically hurting you guys right now is the logo.
People don't see it as like, Okay, this is a
this is football, this is a football school, this is
a smart school, just like kind of like everybody. Even
though Indiana saying at the two seed, people still have
that brand recognition of being like, well that's a basketball school.
(53:26):
It's still having a hard time for people to recognize
and be like, hey, this is a legit team.
Speaker 1 (53:31):
No, you're right, I know. I think the brand stuff
like Crimson A or a you know, an Orange tea Honus,
we'd be number five team in the nation.
Speaker 2 (53:42):
You guys would definitely be in the playoffs. Absolutely absolutely
be in the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (53:47):
Yeah, I don't disagree with that. I think just the
way everything's lined lined up, right, now, I wish everybody
could get in, but you know, like I feel like
you guys are gonna get you guys are made first
one out of the club.
Speaker 1 (54:00):
No, we can't be I think they gotta put us
in roll.
Speaker 5 (54:02):
But what do you do as far as the as
far as the playoff structures lined up, I'm with you,
trust me. I want Vanderbilt to be in the We're
pro Vandy. We're we're like anti the g fives, and
we don't think anybody from the ACC should get in
this year. But if you look at how this stuff
goes down, it's like there's only gonna be a couple
of spots open. And how are you going to leave
(54:25):
out Notre Dame when they've only lost to what Texas
A and m in Miami? Then you got Miami. Notre
Dame in Miami has been whooping teams as of.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
Lake, but who they played, they snuck by VT Miami.
Speaker 6 (54:40):
I don't player hate, you know what I mean? This
is just like, in all honesty, who's who's playing those
real teams? That's why I think they're either one has
to be like playings or something, or it has to
be this massive schedule. You have to play freaking five
SEC teams, five big ten teams and see, like, if
you're the truth.
Speaker 5 (54:59):
I was on Taylor before we got on here, Like
what if we could be fluid and just call it
what it is right now? You take ten locks and
all these teams are gonna argued about you get an
eight man bracket and you guys just play into the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
I like that. I like that.
Speaker 5 (55:13):
Or yeah, just four extra game starting right after whoever
plays in has to play Afhouse State because it'd be
the lowest seed.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
Yeah, yep, but yeah, you're right. I mean Notre Dame.
They have two losses. They came in at the beginning
of the year, but who if they played since the
two losses? Not really anybody my tears, he's hurt. I'm
trying to look. Alabama Ole Miss is another argument. They
lose their entire offensive staff, but they earn so what happens.
I agree with you, they earned it. But if you're
(55:41):
logically sitting here and being like theyre're such a high
powered offense, you would think they lose the entire offensive staff,
They're probably not going to go very far in the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (55:49):
They have earned it, but it's a it's a player's
game too, though.
Speaker 2 (55:53):
The only the only things I look at here is like, yeah, Virginia,
Virginia should not be in even if they beat Duke
and in this North Texas thing. I've said it for
multiple weeks now, we've said it like the G five.
To me, you have to be twelve and zero and
murdering your competition a week in and week out like
nothing close, and that just sucks, like you're you're you
don't you don't play high competition. You guys are a
(56:15):
ten and two team that's in the SEC that has
s he has most top twenty five teams in there.
So yeah, you guys should absolutely be in. Unfortunately, it
seems like you have to you have to position yourself
and be mentally prepared for the idea that it's probably
not going to happen.
Speaker 6 (56:32):
I haven't mentally got there and I won't get there.
Speaker 5 (56:34):
Fight take can anymore?
Speaker 6 (56:36):
Well, when when is the uh, the for sure bracket
coming out?
Speaker 2 (56:40):
Well, there's yeah, next Seasonday, Sunday, the championship games. So
do the championship games?
Speaker 6 (56:46):
And then yeah, so do the championship games hurt? These
teams are now the committee?
Speaker 2 (56:50):
I said it doesn't really hurt. They're not putting a
lot of weight in what happens. The problem is is
like you got Ohio State and Indiana, they play in
the Baiting Championship. They're going regardless, but it's like, why, okay,
if it doesn't matter, why would you even play in
the beigin the championship. The same thing goes for if,
like some of the argument is, if Alabama loses to Georgia,
does Alabama that get kicked out of the playoff because
(57:10):
they're sitting at ten? That's crazy, right, which might look
good for you guys.
Speaker 5 (57:14):
But again, Bama becomes a three loss team that was
the number one ring team in the SEC playing in
their championship game they lose, Are you going to leave
them out as a three loss team that's only lost
to it be Georgia, Georgia, Georgia twice and then Alabama
lost to Florida State.
Speaker 2 (57:30):
Oklahoma, Yeah, Oklahoma SEC Championship, Yah, yeah, oh it's Georgia.
Speaker 5 (57:36):
Yeah, because they beat Georgia at Georgia.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
You guys kind of just always beat Georgia, right, Well,
you guys.
Speaker 5 (57:40):
Records they need to do this weekend. But again, it's
like they're nine to three, they'll still have a case
because they win their championship game and they have a
case because like, okay, do you put ten and two
Vanderbilt in, Well it had to head. They beat vander
but they beat you, guys. So that's where it's. That's
why it's like as fans, we love the chaos. I
love all the arguments debate, but if they're like if
(58:00):
I'm looking at the way that Bandy gets in, I
just it's gonna be a hard road for Vanderbilt to
get in, just based on the structure of the college
football playoffs.
Speaker 2 (58:08):
In your mind, is there is there a world they
get in, because I don't think there is.
Speaker 5 (58:13):
I don't want to tell now, but.
Speaker 2 (58:17):
Tell us tell us how Vanderbil gets the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (58:19):
They have to come to their senses.
Speaker 5 (58:22):
But that that's we But you're talking about a lot
of season, Like to me, Bama would have to get killed.
Speaker 6 (58:28):
I'm just saying these these other bubble teams like sure, if.
Speaker 2 (58:33):
You right, everybody, Okay, so you need to just say it.
I'll repeat it. Texas Tech to win, then you you
be to win. Alabama to lose bad.
Speaker 5 (58:51):
I think Alabama needs to lose bad if they're not
going to get in the coach.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
Like, we're talking a bad beat, multiple touchdown beat. If
that happens, you think Vandy gets in. Yeah, but then
then you're putting in another you have you have to
put in. According to Josh Pate.
Speaker 5 (59:05):
What like a if Duke wins, Duke's not going.
Speaker 2 (59:08):
To be a high ranked, a different conference champion.
Speaker 5 (59:10):
Two G five teams are going to get in. If
jam you'll win their championship their favored right now by
like twenty one and a half points. JAMU will win
and they're because they're ranked. And then North Texas and
Tulane play their championship this weekend, they will both be
ranked above Duke. So two G five teams will get in.
Both coaches and coaches. I'm supposed to be going to UCLA.
Speaker 2 (59:33):
Now I know, coach going to u c L a job, bro.
Speaker 6 (59:39):
Because of taxes.
Speaker 2 (59:40):
This game taxes and you're the second best team in
your city and there's not a whole lot. Have you
been to Pasadena? It's the stadiums an hour away from campus. Yeah,
it's far the stadium, No, no, no, it's it was.
It's like Vanderbilt pre Pavia.
Speaker 6 (01:00:00):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
That's just the reality. There was no fans.
Speaker 6 (01:00:04):
Oh no, no, I just didn't. I haven't been to
a vanity game.
Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
No.
Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
But that's kind of how the that's like the playoff structure.
It's not like the twelve best teams get.
Speaker 6 (01:00:11):
In, right, So maybe maybe they just implement something next week.
There's the plans before the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
You think, yeah, there's always that's coming to their sense chance.
Speaker 5 (01:00:21):
Who would be who would be in the plans?
Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
If you can put four teams in the plans or
eight teams whatever it is, what would you put like.
Speaker 6 (01:00:27):
The bubble teams with like the G five's and then
the nine to eight?
Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
So you go thirteen, you go eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen.
Speaker 5 (01:00:38):
So here's the here's the eight. You go Virginia, b Yu, Miami,
Notre Dame Vanderbilt.
Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
You keep putting, you keep talking like Notre Dames, not
just in. They're in.
Speaker 5 (01:00:49):
They might not, but I mean, but I'm just sitting
at nine right here. They're in, Bro, how are they
in the same Like what is it the comparable pull
or whatever is Miami? It's like Miami got them on
the head to head.
Speaker 6 (01:01:01):
Yeah, so Miami has to That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:01:04):
If we're going to talk about eight teams that are
on the bubble that are being argued about.
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
But as as this chart says, right now, they're the
number nine seed.
Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
They're in.
Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
That's not gonna change. Notre Dame will sit at nine again.
And if they're sitting, if you're sitting in the top ten,
going in next week, you're in, which pulls up, which
makes up.
Speaker 5 (01:01:22):
Notre names and whooping everybody by like double digits.
Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
They haven't play anybody. You're right. The only two teams
they played they lost against They should have been the
m but they didn't.
Speaker 6 (01:01:32):
Have a crazy thought.
Speaker 2 (01:01:34):
What's your thoughts.
Speaker 10 (01:01:35):
Using the Ohio State Indiana example, since they're both in guaranteed,
why not use that game as the play in opportunity.
Speaker 1 (01:01:44):
For you're gonna take away?
Speaker 10 (01:01:48):
So yeah, the weight a conference championship holds, use that
weekend to decide your bottom.
Speaker 5 (01:01:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
I don't disagree with you. I think the conference championship
should be dead. It needs to go to like an
n FELL situation where it's like, oh, well, who has
the best record game, you're the SEC champion, You have Yeah,
you have the tiebreaker. You're the SEC champion, You're the
Big ten champion.
Speaker 5 (01:02:08):
Move on, let's just blow it up.
Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
Let's blow it up. I love the idea of I
think the play in is unbelievable. And then you then
you'll play the one seed.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
Find that.
Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
I love your fucking attitude, dude. I love it.
Speaker 5 (01:02:23):
Anywhere, any place, anytime.
Speaker 6 (01:02:25):
Hello, what is did you pull up.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
Notre Dame schedules firm? Let's get that. Let's get that
pulled up.
Speaker 5 (01:02:35):
I mean Notre Dame has been mopping teams mopping. I
get that they haven't played anybody, but.
Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Like you think they should be in.
Speaker 1 (01:02:43):
If you put us, whose resume is better? That's the
thing you gotta think about. Who's which teams us Notre
Dame in Miami in a bowl and you look at
the resumes, Who's do you pick is the best?
Speaker 6 (01:02:56):
If you took all the logos and everything off and
just put out a play forman numbers in stats, everyone
would pick.
Speaker 5 (01:03:03):
Us, everybody in the SEC, everybody around the world. I mean,
I just taught you, just learned about the G five
and listen, I'm a week ahead of you. I just
learned about it. I like Notre Dame. I think it's
Notre Dame.
Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
Over everybody else. Oh, if you're taking what would you say, Miami,
Vanderbilt and Notre Dame. Yeah, that seems like a crazy
I grew up a fan of Notre Dame. Bias could
be because their scheduled, Like is this the top? Okay,
so they Notre Dame loses to Miami, then they lose
to Texas A and l They beat Purdue, they beat Arkansas,
(01:03:41):
Arkansas bomb at the barrel in the in the SEC,
they beat Boise State, NC State, they beat USC at home,
Boston College, Navy, Pittsburgh, Sarah Hughs Stanford. That's they have
one top twenty five, one top twenty five win. Pull up.
(01:04:02):
I will do Miami last. Pull a Vonner Belt schedule
because that to me is like very weak. That's a
very weak schedule. The two teams that were like formidable
opponents you beat or you lost to.
Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
This is going to get us into the current ranking.
Speaker 2 (01:04:19):
Okay, this is this is Vanderbilt, So you guys, you guys, Okay,
Charleston Southern doesn't matter. Virginia Tech, Virginia tich was were
they ranked at this time? After that week after that
week they did your right. South Carolina was a top
ten school at the time JP at their place, at
their place, So to me, that's a top ten win.
Georgia State doesn't matter, you does state doesn't matter? Alabama? Listen,
(01:04:42):
you lost to Alabama. LSU was LSU ranked when you
all played them.
Speaker 5 (01:04:45):
Yeah, okay, there's a little ring sucked.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
LSU sucked, But this time they were ranked in the
top twenty five.
Speaker 6 (01:04:51):
Can you not.
Speaker 5 (01:04:53):
That's the SEC game for you?
Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
Missouri ranked at the time Texas, you lost to Texas
almost came back. That score or doesn't show they kind
of handle Auburn, Kentucky and a ranked Tennessee team. So
that's four Tennessee. That's four ranked wins, two in the
top ten, YEP on the road on the road. So
(01:05:16):
that schedule alone, that blows Notre Dame out at the window.
Speaker 5 (01:05:20):
I don't think it blows Notre Dame out the window.
Speaker 2 (01:05:23):
Explain to me you're looking at you're looking at the
results of the season when these teams played. When they
played South Carolina, South calin was a top ten team
when they ended up not being good. We're talking about
the beginning of the season when all the hopes and
dreams are still alive, and we're kind of now figuring
out that South Carolina's offensive line sucks.
Speaker 5 (01:05:41):
Hey the time, I want Vanderbilt to be in the
playoff too. I've just you're you're asking me out of
Miami Notre Dame and Vanderbilt, what like which resume am
I sitting there looking at to being the playoff? Here's
who like all their arguments they are going up against,
like if you get again a three loss Alabama and
a three loss Textas that are pleading their case they
both beat Vanderbilt had to head and I know, like
(01:06:02):
I'm talking about both sides of my mouth. With Miami
Notre Dame, I don't care which any any of them
that go in. I think they're all like good programs.
But if I'm gonna sit there and write whatever, whoever
seems like they got the juice going into the playoff.
Right now, it feels like Notre Dame as much as
anybody else. It feels like Vanderbilt. You can make a
case of.
Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
Vandy Notre Dame has more juice than Vanderbilt right now,
after they went to Knoxville and Donkey stomp the balls.
Speaker 5 (01:06:25):
I think Vanderbilt has every right to be in the
couple will play off.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
Right, we're talking about strength of schedule, we're talking about
resume wins, and I just listed out for your Notre
Dame schedule wins and losses, and then Vanderbilt Notre Dame,
and you're looking at me, going, I don't agree.
Speaker 5 (01:06:40):
Miami's Notre Dame has won ten straight by double digits.
Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
Who have they played? They beat Syracuse by sixty three
and week eleven they had like.
Speaker 5 (01:06:49):
Thirty some points for that offense.
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Their problem is is that they're a victim of the
conference they play in.
Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
Yeah, there is no conference.
Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Well it's acc it is a conference. So Miami, Miami
beating it or Dame.
Speaker 5 (01:07:03):
Right, But Miami also lost BCU, I don't know BUS
and Louisville University.
Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
Of South Florida. They just beat Florida the week prior
to the week before this. Then they beat Florida. Then
they beat Florida State, which at this time, were we
still all all about Florida State.
Speaker 1 (01:07:20):
No, that's in October, that's I think I think still
still hot.
Speaker 2 (01:07:24):
Yeah, Florida State was still hot then, So that's a
good win to me. That's a top twenty five win, Lowville,
they lost to Louisville, crazy loss, Stanford lose to SMU.
Were they right to the time? Okay, not a great win?
Syahcuse and then and so on and so forth they
go in? Defeed it since then if you're looking at
(01:07:44):
all three of those schedules, if anybody besides will disagrees
with me, like Vanderbilt has the best the best wins
there we and this is you've even said like SEC
has the most depth of any conference, including the Big Ten.
Speaker 5 (01:07:55):
Yeah, I agree. I personally, I'm not like trying to
be right. I'm just giving you my opinion on who
I think they're going to put in the playoff.
Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
I want not tin about who we think they're gonna
put in the playff. I think they're gonna put in
the playoff. I'mun say who's more deserving in your mind
based on schedule.
Speaker 5 (01:08:09):
It's it doesn't matter to me, Like I I wish
all three of these teams could go in, Like I'm
not sitting her homewarn, Like, yes, I'm gonna root for
the local team Vanderbilt, but they're going to be in
a situation to where they're arguing with like a Texas
And again, if Bama loses this weekend, they're gonna be
arguing with that. And then if Bama wins and you
have all these SEC teams, all these SEC teams in,
(01:08:31):
it's like you got enough SEC teams in the College
Football Playoff.
Speaker 6 (01:08:35):
It's supposed to be the best twelve teams in the country.
Speaker 1 (01:08:37):
Though, So why does conference matter if there's six ACC teams?
Speaker 5 (01:08:42):
Because you guys have already kind of sorted yourselves out.
Speaker 6 (01:08:45):
So wouldn't it be smart for these teams to just
drop out of their conference just play fucking cake cake walks?
Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
I don't. Yeah, if you're Texas.
Speaker 5 (01:08:54):
If you're Texas, you want to have a cake wall
because if that loss to Aho State keeps them out
of it as a three lost team, no that they've
beat you guys, and the Collegewall Playoff is going to
put you guys in. And they beat you guys because
they have one extra loss because it was Ohio State
that they scheduled early in the year, They're gonna think
to themselves, we need to have a cupcake team. So
that way we could be ten and two arguing against
(01:09:14):
a ten and two Vandy going.
Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
In Michigan because they are we arguing for Michigan, right, Yeah,
for sure. If Michigan doesn't schedule Oklahoma at the second
game of the year, we're essentially arguing for a ten
and two Michigan team.
Speaker 5 (01:09:29):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely, that's crazy.
Speaker 6 (01:09:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:09:33):
And then you get away from the excitement of all
these big non conference games that you want to see
because all the big dogs are going against each other. Yeah.
But now you pull back and realize, like, yeah, you're
trying to play the schematics and strategy for getting the
College wall playoff. You don't want to if you're playing
nine conference games, which I know the SEC is going to,
it's like you don't want to play anybody else outside
(01:09:54):
of the conference that's worth the ship because you don't
want to risk it trying to get into the playoffs.
I agree.
Speaker 1 (01:09:57):
When did Texas schedule hell State?
Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
Yeah, it's like what six seven years ago? Oh, here
we go. I actually don't even mean to do that either.
Everyone just fucking yeah. But I think that is a
huge issue with college football. Then if you're going to
take away people's strength of schedule as a reason to
keep them enter out of a playoff, then there's something
wrong going on with all that, because you can't because
(01:10:24):
what does Texas play Ohio State next year?
Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
In Texas? Texas?
Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
Right? And Oklahoma comes up to Michigan and it's like,
if you're any of those schools, why don't you just
go We're not gonna play this game.
Speaker 5 (01:10:34):
Yeah, let's figure out what.
Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Yeah, we're gonna schedule Central Michigan, Texas gonna schedule North Texas.
Who's in the fucking playoff? That makes no sense? Yeah,
that's crazy, Which we should probably go to that game.
That game is will be sick, which one September twelve
next year.
Speaker 5 (01:10:49):
The one that we need to go to is LSU
at ole Miss. Oh yeah, oh yeah, dude, how would
you guys, how would you guys be feeling if you're
a player on Ole Miss's team right now on the offense,
you're the quarterback, the quarterback, I.
Speaker 6 (01:11:04):
Would I don't know who's gonna be who's because Lane
calls the plays right and he took everyone.
Speaker 5 (01:11:12):
He took the OC. I'm assuming the quarterback coach, receivers coach.
But yeah, let's just say clark Lee your play callers
ex right now. Clarkly signed the extension right now.
Speaker 2 (01:11:28):
But you're okay, you're a senior. This is everything you've
worked for. You're at a school with the most with
the greatest winning season your school has ever had, and
then your coach ups and leaves while you guys are
in the playoffs. You're a senior. After this, there's no
more college football for you.
Speaker 5 (01:11:44):
In your in your play caller, like they leave, they're
gone yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
How are you feeling right now?
Speaker 6 (01:11:51):
We can get some plays together.
Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
No, listen, I love that, I love you.
Speaker 6 (01:11:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:11:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:58):
And that's kind of what we talked about, is like
those old miss players are gonna live in that delusion
of like, hey, doesn't matter, We're going to go focus
on this. They're probably not feeling the pain or the
hurt of anything. The reality is is you have great
football players, but if you don't have the right scheme
and play calls, you're gonna you're gonna fall lank and
draw it up too, lank and draw it up.
Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
And so it turns into it might not hurt these
old missplayers feelings right now, but we get three weeks
from now, four weeks from now. Were there in that
first round they're losing the first round, They're sitting there
going what if?
Speaker 6 (01:12:27):
Yeah, what if?
Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
And you just you're just wasted these senior season.
Speaker 1 (01:12:33):
That's rough.
Speaker 9 (01:12:34):
That sucks.
Speaker 1 (01:12:34):
I don't know what I do.
Speaker 5 (01:12:35):
Would you be able to separate like logic from emotion
on feeling the type of way about your uh yeah,
your coaches?
Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
Yeah for sure. I remember at New Mexico State when
everyone was leaving, it was like, okay, they got to
take just like everyone hitting the portal now mm hm,
that have to do. It's best for them. Yeah, I
like I like, I like it too.
Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
Yeah them. Yeah he does. Yeh, he absolutely does.
Speaker 6 (01:13:02):
Guy is awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
He's got He's definitely got some ship to him.
Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
For sure.
Speaker 2 (01:13:07):
I think it's we were breaking down the whole thing,
the whole tweeting from his dog's account thing. I didn't
know about that until he is a massive troll.
Speaker 1 (01:13:17):
Dude.
Speaker 5 (01:13:18):
I love it. As a fan. Sitting back, I'm just
sitting there saying, like, dude, if we were on this
run and polining the staff left, like right before you
go into the college football playoff in half of this
historic run, like I'd be feeling some type of way oh,
like damn bro, like everything that we were wanting to
pursue you want to win a national title as a
head coach. We got Well, we're here, we're here. What
(01:13:38):
do you need? And that's the emotional side of the brain, obviously.
If he's sitting there, Lane sitting there and he feels
like his calling is going to ultimately ending up at
l s U, which I hope it is, because if
it happens again in a few years, that would be brutal.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:13:53):
Yeah, it goes to Florida, goes leaves for the NFL
or something. But I get I get Lane. It's like,
it's a tough decision to make and one that you
have to make, and you know, hopefully you handled the
best way possible. But ripping the band aid off would suck.
As a player in that line, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:14:08):
I want him to coach you in the playoffs, even
though you know he's leaving. Yeah, yes, that's better than him.
I think he's leaving. But he asked for that and
they didn't let him.
Speaker 1 (01:14:17):
Yeah. I think I saw the players ask too.
Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
Yeah, but buddy, if you're the ad, there's no way
he can let the head coach. He's just sit there
and he's gonna be like, Okay, listen, I know this
is great, we got to win these games. But I
got a spot for you at LSU and you're gonna go.
Like you probably feel the same way about Clark Lee
if he was if he was leaving, he was like,
you should come with You're probably gonna go with his relationship.
Speaker 6 (01:14:36):
Everyone's doing that regardless though.
Speaker 5 (01:14:38):
No doubt.
Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
But there's difference between a phone call taking place an agent,
someone like a middleman, and something being in the building
with you every day. But boys, this is our game
plan this weekend, and so and so, by the way,
if any guys want to go to l s U
except for you and you you guys, you guys should
for sure come with me anyway, Like that is a
crazy if you're if you're the kidnot yeah, yeah, I
(01:15:00):
bet you. There's a piece of them that's like, man,
should we let them? And then quickly it's like, yeah,
we can't.
Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
What happened.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
I cannot let that happen.
Speaker 5 (01:15:09):
Just the bludgeting out there at ole.
Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
Miss Yeah, you brought up the Joe Moore Award, Kate.
I want to hear why you guys think you are
You guys should win the Joe More Award because there's
a lot of good offensive lines out there in college
football this year.
Speaker 6 (01:15:24):
Yeah, wait, who's who else is competing for it?
Speaker 1 (01:15:27):
The semi finalist list is up. I don't know. I
think regardless of who's in it, honestly, I think we
have the Heisman behind us, and you know, obviously that
helps a lot. But I think what we've been able
to do balancing you know, we just ran for three
fifteen in Knoxville. That's pretty crazy. Diego through for five
hundred yards against an SEC team, like we can do both,
(01:15:51):
you know what I mean? I don't think there's anybody
else that can really compare to that. As well as
having you know who I think is the best football
player in college football, dus, That helps us a.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
Lot, Right, You got Cincinnati, Dude, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan, Oregon,
Texas A and m Utah Vanderbilt Vanderbilt.
Speaker 1 (01:16:11):
It's in alphabetic order, has got to be.
Speaker 2 (01:16:14):
I'm fired up. I'm fired up. The Michigan's in this
real idea of Michigan was a semi finalists for this
three starting freshmen on that offensive line.
Speaker 1 (01:16:23):
Yeah, that's crazy. They've done good with that too.
Speaker 2 (01:16:25):
They've done because they were it seems like they're gonna
be a liability early in the year, and they really
turned it around. Yeah, that's I mean, it's a good
list of people right there, and definitely having a Heisman
candidate behind you as just like Diego did. He pointed out, like, hey,
I got the Joe More winning Joe Moore Award winning
offensive line in front of me, and like you guys
are both complimenting each other based on individual and group accolades.
Speaker 1 (01:16:46):
I think another thing that helps too is we have
the Remington Center as well. I think. I mean, he's
like a four time.
Speaker 2 (01:16:52):
He's a little savage too. He's always popping off the screen.
Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
He just won his fourth sec fourth in a season.
Like that guy's insane. He's he If he doesn't win
the Wilmington it might be worse than if Diego doesn't
win the Heisman, like he deserves it that much.
Speaker 6 (01:17:09):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, he's nice.
Speaker 1 (01:17:11):
The Parker brails Free. I think Alabama is a really
good football player too. Slaughter at Florida is really good
at center two.
Speaker 2 (01:17:19):
But Jordan Jordan is Slaughter is not gonna win it though,
even if he is. Because I was reading up on
Florida and watched them of their games and everybody was like,
the offensive line is a strength of this team that
has a lot of talent all around them, and because
their record, you're never it's always it's always record based
when it comes to these kinds of awards, which words
are tough, that's why is that the is that rushing
(01:17:41):
or yards game? Yeah, Oregon's fucking nice, bro, they got
a good squad. We've been around them. They were rushing
for what six point seven yards per carry something like that.
Speaker 6 (01:17:52):
At one point, we're like top five in every single
category and we're not in the playoffs. Is that not crazy?
Speaker 11 (01:17:59):
I do?
Speaker 5 (01:18:00):
I'm with you, No, dude, I think I think it's
crazy again. I think you guys should be in the playoffs.
I'm just saying all of the all of the arguing
and debates around it, like, you guys are just in
this bubble spot to where everybody, every team, with all
these separate schedules, like everybody's got some argument that they
can lean on, Like with Miami Notre Dame, Miami beat
them head to head, which they can lean on. Notre
(01:18:21):
Dame has been a little hotter down the stretch than
Miami Notre Dame has that to lean on.
Speaker 2 (01:18:26):
Miami just be pit by more than what Notre Dame
be paid. Yeah, which which I think when it comes
to schedule, Notre Dame's third in the list of those three.
Speaker 5 (01:18:36):
Yeah, but again Notre Dame's won ten straight, you know
what I mean, where whereas they've had these close losses
to great teams and out in Alabama and Texas, Texas
is a team on the outside looking and trying to
argue their spot.
Speaker 1 (01:18:48):
So like there's a you're are you doing a momentum
argument with that? Like ten straight? Is that what you're saying, Like.
Speaker 5 (01:18:53):
I'm saying, if you're Notre Dame arguing for it, you
have ten straight over everybody else because you guys had
a couple of bumps of tough games and then Miami's
lost to like Louisville and s MU, which again you
brought up, which Miami needed to beat Pitt worse than
Notre Dame did, which as dumb as that sounds like,
that is a good that is like a good thing
to lean on, and they have the head to head
(01:19:13):
over Notre Dame too, But if you're Notre Dame, like
that's what you're obviously see you are obviously sitting there
arguing is your heisman candidate the way this team's played
compared to how they played in the first game against Miami.
Speaker 6 (01:19:25):
They also haven't played anyone ten straight either, though, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:19:30):
Right, which which again out to argue that it's just
everybody's trying to prop what the resume is. That's kind
of the that's kind of the spin zone.
Speaker 6 (01:19:39):
Whose problem is better?
Speaker 1 (01:19:40):
Huh?
Speaker 5 (01:19:43):
Yeah, I at you guys would be sitting in the
best spot.
Speaker 1 (01:19:46):
Yeah, absolutely, I don't know they can. I don't know.
I was just arguing for all of you.
Speaker 2 (01:19:51):
No, you're arguing for Notre Dame. And then he switched.
Speaker 5 (01:19:53):
Yeah, I know, but you're going through their schedule saying
like South Carolina is the top at the time at
the time. But again, that's that's that's the thing. That's
the thing that bothers me.
Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
Man, is like, if you beat a team when they
have a number next to their name at the time
you play them, that's how the world is perceiving them.
We would farther down. Injuries happen, I mean for South Carolina,
like you guys, ald just fumble the bag big time
this year. That sucks. But like as you play like
things happen, injuries take place, people have bad games, that
sort of thing. But like when you play the team,
(01:20:24):
if they're if they have a number next to them,
that should count. Like South Carolina should be a top
ten winneror top fifteen win for you guys this year.
Speaker 5 (01:20:32):
Was on that ranking base on the year before, like they're.
Speaker 2 (01:20:36):
A baseball team. Honestly, it's like, but it's like if
you look at any South Carolina finger're gonna say, hey,
did you guys wildly underperform this year for what you
guy should have done? The answer is yes, wildly because
they should have been a top fifteen team this year.
We will played well against a lot of good teams. However,
when you guys played there eleven in the country, it's
(01:20:58):
like that should you guys? That should count or something
for you guys, because at the time you're walking into
that building being like, this is a staple win.
Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
For us night the fans think they're ranked.
Speaker 2 (01:21:08):
Fans different, but absolutely right to me, it has to
count for something, right, But when things happen.
Speaker 5 (01:21:16):
If you're walking in the door trying to say, hey,
here's one of my points I want to make with
our schedule and beating the South Carolina team that's ranked.
Everybody's gonna be like, Buddy, like, who cares that you
beat South Carolina?
Speaker 2 (01:21:26):
Yeah, because everyone's looking at the end result.
Speaker 5 (01:21:28):
Well, yeah, because the years played out for everybody. It's
like you look at preseason, like Texas A and M
would have all these incredible wins against the programs that
they played, but now that we're at the end of
the year, their one loss is to an SEC team
that's in the top half of the SEC. All their
wins were against bottom half SEC team.
Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
Do you have any rings like top fifteen wins when
they were playing them at the time, besides Notre Dame
because Notre Dame was still top fifteen nine think yeah, okay,
Notre Dame was nine. Okay, yeah, you're right.
Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
Maybe l SU at the time. What week was that?
Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
Maybe Missouri?
Speaker 5 (01:22:12):
I think Missouri was ranked at that time, two weeks
before that, two.
Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
Weeks before that because they sputtered. They lost it after
that to Alabama.
Speaker 6 (01:22:18):
Right, yeah, but they didn't have their starting course.
Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
They didn't have.
Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
Yeah, so they might have been out by then. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
I think they gotta put.
Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
Matters for when you play the team. I think that matters.
I think the fan base, the environment, the competitive atmosphere.
It's way different when you have a number next to
your name then as opposed to when you don't. Teams
are different.
Speaker 1 (01:22:43):
I agree.
Speaker 2 (01:22:43):
What do we think about? Where's the with the stat list?
Speaker 5 (01:22:48):
We got some stats right here? Yeah, it's honestly, it's
been cool to see you guys getting on so many lists.
Joe Moore, Heisman, everything else.
Speaker 2 (01:22:55):
You got the wife calling me here to take this,
all right, Charlie calls, Will Compton will start getting into this, dude,
first thing on the list. Should Diego will win the Heisman?
You're your third best? And Alison Fando right now it's
plus three forty. You're behind Fernando Mendoza and saying, those
are the two people out of him. Do you want
(01:23:17):
me to read their stats? Yeah, let's get some good Okay,
let's get some Let's go with Mendoza status context. Mendoza
has three thousand, three thousand and one yards, He's got
thirty eight touchdowns and seventy two percent completion percentage. All right,
saying has three thousand ninety two a little bit better
right there, thirty touchdowns, less touchdowns and yeah, something about
(01:23:39):
a hoist. I think he also has seventy eight point
nine percent completion percentage. He has the highest completion percentage
of any quarterback maybe ever. Maybe ever. Then there's you.
So you are two quarterbacks that are three thousand. You
have four thousand and eighteen total yards and thirty six touchdowns.
Why do you think you're third those I know you
(01:24:00):
think you should win. I I agree with you. Why
do you think they're putting you in third right now?
Speaker 1 (01:24:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
Well, let's let's play the game. Let's potentially we're on
a podcast. We're having a full conversation about it.
Speaker 1 (01:24:11):
I've got answers, go ahead. I think it's because he
wears a gold V on his shist. I think the
logo is number one. And I think that you know,
there's no there's no reason this is off topic. But
there's no reason that you watch the games and you
don't think this guy's the most important player in college football.
(01:24:32):
Like if you plug and play anybody else him, anywhere else,
they're in the same position we are. It's like the
most important player in college football, the best quarterback in
college football. The yard, the yards and stuff. I know
that doesn't have rushing yards, but it's like that's a
total yards there.
Speaker 5 (01:24:47):
I know.
Speaker 1 (01:24:47):
I think I saw somewhere that he's got like six
hundred more rushing yards in any of them. And it's
like he can sit back there and drop back and
throw a bomb every play to her. You know, Heisman
candidate receivers, but you got to be able to do them.
Ground two. I think we got a dual threat guy,
and I don't. I don't know why he isn't. Third.
The only answer I have for that is logo.
Speaker 5 (01:25:06):
Well, the answer Indiana doesn't have a strong logo.
Speaker 7 (01:25:10):
Well.
Speaker 6 (01:25:10):
The other thing I have for that is Fandiel likes
giving out money. I mean, that's why the podcast runs.
Speaker 5 (01:25:15):
You know, you say, who.
Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
I saw a chart? Sure, I don't know if you
could bring it up. I think I tweeted about it.
But it was a chart of how many two hundred
yard games they've had, three hundred yards, four yards, five
hundred yard games. And as you look down, going down,
like the higher the numbers get, you are alone by yourself.
I know, like you have how many five hundred yard games?
Speaker 1 (01:25:37):
Did you have? One or two?
Speaker 5 (01:25:40):
One or two?
Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
Five hundred and thirty two passing in total yards, six
touchdowns versus Kentucky four hundred and thirty three, two touchdowns
versus Tennessee four hundred and thirty three in Knoxville is nuts.
Utah State's not very impressive two forty six three touchdowns
against LSU Auburn forty nine. It is impressive. Here's where
(01:26:07):
I think there is people can probably hate a little bit.
Watch Fernana Mendoza and Julian Sam when they do postgame
press conferences. Way different. You have much more of a
fucking attitude about you. That wrestler's attitude.
Speaker 6 (01:26:21):
He's got more juice.
Speaker 2 (01:26:22):
Listen, I get it, but that, uh, the way you,
the way you're talking right now, is exactly what I'm saying.
Like when people think of the Heights with the thinking
suit and ties, we're gonna act a certain way. It's
more of like a country club s thing.
Speaker 1 (01:26:37):
I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:26:37):
I don't, I don't think so Okay, why Jam Newton?
Speaker 2 (01:26:40):
Okay, Cam Newton wasn't like the Cam Newton's Johnny Manziel,
Johnny Minzel when he went Joe Burrow hold on, when
Johnny Menzel won the Heisman, he was very much like
like still like masking behind this all American boy type
of thing. After he won the Heisman was when all
this ship started to come out.
Speaker 6 (01:26:58):
Joe Burrow, Joe Burrow, he's calm, but he's got the juice.
Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
Though he's got juice, there's no doubt he's got swag.
Speaker 6 (01:27:04):
He ain't scared to say some that's Joe Burrow. Okay,
I think who else? Who's who?
Speaker 1 (01:27:11):
I think that's such a bad argument. Though, Listen, he's
bad at interviews. You can't win the hes one. It's like,
I I.
Speaker 2 (01:27:16):
Agree with that. I'm saying that there's there's probably a
how they view a Heisman win.
Speaker 6 (01:27:22):
Yeah, And I also think, like maybe I don't know,
maybe appearances are.
Speaker 1 (01:27:27):
That's it goes right back to the logo thing, like
are we talking about appearances? Are we talking about numbers
in the.
Speaker 6 (01:27:32):
Are we talking about the Are you the best or not?
It's plain and simple, right.
Speaker 2 (01:27:36):
Yeah, that's how it should be.
Speaker 1 (01:27:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:27:39):
Yeah, to me, I think you mean more to your team.
I think Fernando Mendoza means a lot to his team.
Like to me, it's like it's it should be a
guy who's changed the temperature for their team. Like when
you hear about this team and the success that they're
having throughout the year and fans that are outside the
bubble of sec or with Fernando Mendez a big ten
to where you start hearing about these teams winning, you're
wondering why they're having the success that they have, and
(01:28:02):
then you're able to look at a player who kind
of takes over what that team's success looks like. I
think it's you. I think it's Mendoza. I think Julian
Singing doesn't have like he's surrounded by He's a he's
a hell of a player, but you also got an
incredible machine around him.
Speaker 6 (01:28:16):
For because last year Indiana still went in twelve and h.
Speaker 1 (01:28:26):
And last year they went to the playoffs with so around.
Speaker 5 (01:28:33):
No, I agree with you. I agree with you, like
you've changed the landscape of Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt football, Yeah, two
years in a row. To me, it's like that's it's
the why why anybody tunes into Vanderbilt football. In no
disrespect case you guys. The team is playing really well,
but you also want to see what kind of juice
Like you're hearing about this Diego Pavey kid, you want
to watch it live. You want to see it live happen.
I feel like, being on the outside. It's not like
(01:28:55):
I'm a huge Indiana guy. But as Indiana was playing
and then they beat Oregon and people keep talking about
Bernado Mendoza. When I am turning it, tuning in to
watch Indiana football, I'm like, Oh, I want to see
what this Bernado Mendoza kids doing. You see his comeback
win against that last drive against Penn State, and it's like,
there's a Heisman moment there very much. You've had a
Heisman moment in several of these games, like going into
Neeland I think is a massive one. I was staying
(01:29:17):
it in the locker room last week. If they go
in and win and you have a stat line that
you do, it's like, yes, give the kid the Heisman.
So to me, I'm thinking there's two guys that I'm
personally feel like. To me, it'll depend a lot on
what happens in this Big Ten Championship game with Mendoza.
If he can take down Ohio State and he does
it with incredible stat it's gonna be hard for America
the way everything's going to go to point towards Fernando,
(01:29:38):
where I think people will still be arguing you. But
to me, I feel like you're you're in the driver's
seat right now.
Speaker 6 (01:29:44):
Well I appreciate that.
Speaker 5 (01:29:45):
Yeah, and yeah, we got you over here.
Speaker 1 (01:29:49):
We got you.
Speaker 5 (01:29:51):
Yeah, not all of us.
Speaker 1 (01:29:53):
Oh yeah, Jack, that's okay. He's off the camp.
Speaker 5 (01:29:59):
You got the camp in here. But I think if
I could guess what kind of the pulses of everything,
I feel like that's what the pulse will be. It'll
come down to what kind of game is Mendoz gonna
have this weekend against will State.
Speaker 6 (01:30:10):
But now you look at Ohio State, Julian Sane is
now the race. He can he can have a massive
game too and jump.
Speaker 1 (01:30:17):
You know, defenses to play very well.
Speaker 6 (01:30:20):
Well, not even that. We just need people to look
at the reality of it and say, who's the best
player in college football through these twelve games?
Speaker 5 (01:30:27):
Yeah, I agree, I agree? Where where I feel like.
Speaker 2 (01:30:39):
That's fellas.
Speaker 5 (01:30:45):
He came in at a good time. He came back there.
Speaker 1 (01:30:50):
You got it.
Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
You guys have watch so do we We don't have
the back there for the dude, Dad, hilarious. Before we
started this, we were talking on the other side, if
you can only if you can only bring one person
to the Heisman ceremonies. You're bringing his mom or is
you're bringing you? And you haven't answered that question. They're
(01:31:13):
they're both going.
Speaker 6 (01:31:14):
If you had to pick one, though, well my mom,
but yeah, fair enough, but.
Speaker 5 (01:31:20):
To New York, New York.
Speaker 4 (01:31:22):
I'll stay outside, I'll stay.
Speaker 5 (01:31:24):
In the van. Just pick it for him, A diego
for Heisman.
Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
I'm not getting on the cold weather. I'll stay in
the van.
Speaker 2 (01:31:31):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (01:31:31):
I'll stay in the van and hold the horn?
Speaker 5 (01:31:34):
Are you?
Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
You said the tables like forty k right?
Speaker 6 (01:31:37):
Yeah, you're gonna do that A tail for eight. I
think Van is gonna buy a few.
Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
That'd be awesome. Yeah, if you have the opportunity. When
when is the last time vanderbil has had a Heisman
candidate ever?
Speaker 5 (01:31:46):
Imagine too, if the team, if the team made the
player pay for it.
Speaker 2 (01:31:50):
Crazy, Well, I'm sure he's gonna have a laundry list
of people and he take us with him, Like, are
you gonna invite us? Yeah? I wouldn't yeh yeah, yeah, no,
you're right, I wouldn't. I just want to know if
you would.
Speaker 5 (01:32:03):
Yeah, probably go to the Heights with money. You probably
have to have a talk with your brother just.
Speaker 6 (01:32:13):
Behavior, dude. There's a funny ass video I have of
him in a suit and tie. Let me show you
real quick.
Speaker 5 (01:32:18):
Your brother.
Speaker 6 (01:32:19):
Yeah, you can't even put him in a suit and tie.
Know you'll like this one too. Hes got hes got
to hang around with him, so he's.
Speaker 5 (01:32:26):
What's it been like? Is there a mic back?
Speaker 2 (01:32:28):
There?
Speaker 5 (01:32:29):
No mic? Damn, you're struggling right now.
Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
With you got to talk loud, but asking the question
you asked, what's.
Speaker 5 (01:32:37):
It been like getting to know the Pavia family.
Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
Oh, the pa family is definitely good, you know. I
mean a lot of my family has lived in halfway
houses and stuff over the year, so you meet a
lot of people that are going through it and getting
back into the community, you know.
Speaker 4 (01:32:48):
So uh yeah, the Pobby is I fucking I mean,
I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:32:51):
Know if there's ever been a family like that that's
been associated with college football front row willing to get
arrested even on a a'll have a three yard loss
and they're willing to get arrested, you know what I'm saying, Like,
it doesn't even need to be an amazing play and
they're willing to go down and chains bro.
Speaker 4 (01:33:10):
I think it's pretty unbelievable. It's I think it's.
Speaker 3 (01:33:13):
Hard probably for you guys on the field not to
play tough when they're I mean, those guys are willing.
You know, they're running options in the stands. It's getting
you know, Hobby will run it.
Speaker 2 (01:33:23):
He'll run, He'll run.
Speaker 3 (01:33:25):
An out route, you know, up up twenty fights of bleachers.
It's just like, what's going on?
Speaker 6 (01:33:34):
This is the best video right here. So this is
it's senior day. We're playing Kentucky. This is like before walmups,
you know, when everyone goes out. The family is all
on the field. This is my brother Hobby right here.
Speaker 5 (01:33:48):
He's just rocking the suit.
Speaker 6 (01:33:49):
He's talking ship to number eleven on Kentucky. This kid's like,
what the fuck is going on?
Speaker 1 (01:33:55):
Who is.
Speaker 5 (01:33:57):
Going on?
Speaker 4 (01:34:00):
I told people he was the team pastor. I tell
everybody on the other team that he's the team pastor.
Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
And they're like, Bro, when you brother the go, when
you your brother getting arrested and all the antics you
see from your family, have you ever just sat there
like set them down like a olive gardeners, be like, guys,
we can't keep doing it. They gotta keep it together
just a little bit longer your bread sticks and your
superner salad. We've got to figure it out.
Speaker 6 (01:34:26):
The thing is like Albuquerque is like a real life GTA,
So it's like always just been like kind of like
normal to us, you know, and then like this is
when like the first years it's been like all right,
like we have to chill out.
Speaker 2 (01:34:39):
Yeah, but there's also a piece of like authenticity. We
gotta be like, hey, let him be them.
Speaker 6 (01:34:44):
Yeah. I think that's the best part about him too,
is like when you well, this is the other thing too,
is why I kind of let it let them be them.
So last year we beat Alabama, We're going on a
freaking crazy run. Kentucky they're running wild too, and then
it was like, hey, like we need to calm down,
like everyone, everything going out of control when it comes down.
Ever since that day we were five and two. We
(01:35:06):
only won one of the game against Auburn and we
barely slip by and they were they weren't drinking nothing.
I was like, you know what, fucking next year, get
hammered as much as you want. That's all the time,
he said the tone. Yeah, he only my brother only
stayed sober for the Alabama game and the Texas came, no,
are you being for real? Dead ass?
Speaker 5 (01:35:25):
So if you're out of the playoff, it's like we
kind of have like.
Speaker 6 (01:35:29):
Coach but yeah, oh you like I always joked with
him about that.
Speaker 2 (01:35:34):
Okay, thank god, holy shit, that's crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:35:38):
We can't let him run that.
Speaker 2 (01:35:40):
So you're basically telling your brother like, fuck your liver,
like we need you to, we make the you gotta
be hammered every day.
Speaker 5 (01:35:45):
Yeah, liver transplant, now, yeah, let him do the thing.
Speaker 6 (01:35:48):
How much is that?
Speaker 4 (01:35:49):
That's one hundred and twenty ranks?
Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
Probably liver transplant in the US can be around eight
hundred and seventy eight thousand or a million. Oh my now, yeah,
we need multiple sponsors for that.
Speaker 1 (01:35:59):
One of a nice one.
Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Yeah, this are the good one.
Speaker 4 (01:36:01):
If you want one of those two story livers or whatever. Yeah,
I'm talking about a studio liver.
Speaker 1 (01:36:06):
That is New York studio.
Speaker 2 (01:36:11):
Like, we got one hundred and fifty bucks, get to
we get to New York, We get to New York
and we get to the Heisman. You're sitting there at
you Fernanda Mendozo Julian saying, and they announced one of
their names, not yours, Like what what are we gonna
expect from your brother, Like that's gonna be Oh yeah,
we might.
Speaker 6 (01:36:25):
Have manifest things. I don't think that's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:36:30):
The positive always gotta think positive.
Speaker 5 (01:36:34):
How did you guys, how did Coach Lee delivered the
news to you guys that he signed the extension, Like,
was there a big moment with the with the team,
you guys finding out just through media?
Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
It was Friday morning.
Speaker 6 (01:36:44):
We have a team meeting and uh, mister mister Ben
runs it. He's like, uh, Coach Lee's right hand man,
and he's like here and we go over like officiating rules,
what not to do, what to do, what's good?
Speaker 1 (01:37:00):
Good?
Speaker 6 (01:37:00):
And he was like, well, this is the most important meeting.
It's usually not the most important meeting, but today it is.
And he just clicked over and everyone like lifted their
heads up and it was like Clark Lee extended and
everyone just went crazy. Yeah, he deserves it though he does.
Speaker 5 (01:37:17):
Were you guys having a feeling that he could be
he could be going elsewhere just because again, you guys
have had so much success, Like that's kind of what happened.
Speaker 6 (01:37:23):
Yah, that's the name of the game. I had. I
had a feeling, but I'm glad he stayed. Yeah, this
is his hometown too, so and he can recruit anyone
around the country now that we're winning. Just like I
said last time, you were in the.
Speaker 4 (01:37:38):
State by Curtis that we need.
Speaker 2 (01:37:41):
Yeah, Jody Curtis, that with the haircut.
Speaker 6 (01:37:43):
Yeah, word on the street, he's coming.
Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
We're on the street.
Speaker 4 (01:37:47):
We tried to flip in the other night like a hotcake.
Speaker 6 (01:37:52):
Right now.
Speaker 5 (01:37:54):
In the middle of the night.
Speaker 2 (01:37:55):
Hey you you are You're just a football fan. But
are you like playing your flag with Vanderbilt now? Is
it forever Vanderbilt? Because I saw you and Lane Kiffin
as he's getting off the bus like a couple of
weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (01:38:05):
Oh yeah, that was fun.
Speaker 1 (01:38:06):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:38:06):
Well, I've all had to work every year for like
fourteen years during the fall out to work most of
the so I never got to go to the games.
So I'm making up for a lot of lost time here.
So it's been a blast. But yeah, Vanderbilt, it's just
been the best. Man that it's right here in town.
I got to meet so many great guys. There's so many.
Speaker 4 (01:38:22):
Players over there, man Cay.
Speaker 3 (01:38:24):
They got h Chase Mitchell, his son could play his
son's bigger than Calvin Barnett.
Speaker 4 (01:38:33):
His son, Chase, his son. It's like their whole team
is absolutely hilarious.
Speaker 5 (01:38:37):
Bro.
Speaker 3 (01:38:38):
They have so many big personalities there, dude, it is ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (01:38:42):
Bro, It's ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (01:38:45):
Maybe had some killer catches this week though, Yeah, he
did d two guys out.
Speaker 5 (01:38:49):
It was crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
This is Blue Mountain State program truly.
Speaker 5 (01:38:53):
I love.
Speaker 2 (01:38:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:39:00):
It's like he's around, Uh, it's like he's around the
high school football team. Just please everybody.
Speaker 6 (01:39:04):
This kid is literally five ft five, one hundred and
ten pounds.
Speaker 1 (01:39:09):
Dude.
Speaker 3 (01:39:09):
He will tie weights in his hair to have a
little bit more waste.
Speaker 1 (01:39:11):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, dude.
Speaker 6 (01:39:15):
You know what he would do for wayns because you
have to gain weight. He would get that weight pad
that usually goes around your ankles. You would tape it
around his body like this and go way in on
the scale, no ship.
Speaker 1 (01:39:25):
Yeah, just to fits around's.
Speaker 2 (01:39:28):
That tight end. Y'all got what's his name? Buddy? That
guy is incredible as well.
Speaker 6 (01:39:33):
He Cole Spence, Cole Spence is he's going to be
a first round or too.
Speaker 1 (01:39:37):
Yeah, he's coming.
Speaker 6 (01:39:37):
Spence is good and what you are these guys. Cole
Spence has three years so he has two more after
this and the other guy he's he's a senior yet
is he.
Speaker 4 (01:39:44):
Going to come back?
Speaker 5 (01:39:46):
Cool?
Speaker 1 (01:39:46):
Yeah, he'll be back.
Speaker 4 (01:39:47):
So now, how does it work for players now?
Speaker 3 (01:39:49):
Because you guys all have to go and do a
You have to meet with like an agent or something
for the team at the end of the season to
see if you're going to come back.
Speaker 6 (01:39:57):
What's that like?
Speaker 1 (01:39:59):
It's uh for guys that are old enough, you either
declare for the draft or you come back. And uh,
I mean you have agents and stuff whatever, you have
NFL agents and IOLE agents, but really you all those
pictures are terrible. Really, you just you renegotiate like a
contract within ile. That's kind of the way it goes.
Speaker 5 (01:40:18):
Now.
Speaker 6 (01:40:19):
You have to see how much you're worth.
Speaker 1 (01:40:20):
Yeah, yah hard and.
Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
Do they just reveal like it's a big like they
show you a number whatever, because that's just got that feeling.
Speaker 1 (01:40:27):
You walk in and they open a briefcase and it
has a number.
Speaker 2 (01:40:31):
Like you're lying, what what does your agent tell you?
Like this is what the market looks like outside of Vanderbilt?
Speaker 1 (01:40:39):
Yeah? Pretty much?
Speaker 5 (01:40:40):
Like you even have like real exit meetings with your
coaches anymore, like to where you're talking about that, you're
talking about football, well, door is it more just kind
of my transactional Like you walk in and coaches like, hey,
what are you hearing out there? You're like, I'm kind
of hearing this and we're like, man, we hope we
get you back. And that's kind of your exit meeting.
Speaker 1 (01:40:59):
Yeah, Michael, which is more old school. So like I
I talk about football with him and and I'm sure
after whenever we're done playing, we're gonna have exit meetings.
But when it comes like all the other stuff, like
I try to stay out of it. I don't really
want to hear much of it, you know, I'm like
focused on football at that point.
Speaker 6 (01:41:14):
The way we did last or two is you got
a paper, you wrote down what you liked, what you
didn't like, and then how much you wanted for the
next year to come back.
Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
That is crazy crazy?
Speaker 4 (01:41:24):
Who do you send it to Santa.
Speaker 6 (01:41:30):
Santa and I, yeah, yes, it is what you like.
Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
Meeting will be like you go to the position coach
and they'd be like, hey, there's what you did well
this year. There's what you need to work on, and
they'd be.
Speaker 6 (01:41:38):
Like you would you would have the head coach and
you work on what do you think you need to
prove on, what they thought you needed to prove on,
and then uh those other things. Oh and then where
you're going to be training in the off season, how
you're going to get it done? Do you have a
weight room to work out it?
Speaker 5 (01:41:54):
Yeah, but this is all on a form.
Speaker 6 (01:41:57):
Yeah, well you would you would fill it out and
then you would go talk to your coach about it.
Speaker 1 (01:42:00):
Okay, yeah, okay, my coach is a little different. My
coach sits down, I'll tell you, you know, you have
a conversation about the year, and then at the end
he's like I have to do this and then kind
of hand you the paper that you fill out like
one through five what you like. But I mean that's
pretty basic, I feel like around the country right now, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:42:17):
It's probably. It's definitely probably what it's like now. It's
it's bizarre hearing. And no, we weren't in the nil
so hearing how the exit meetings are happening now because
when I would talk to coaches after the season, are like,
you know, where you're breaking down the year or whatever.
He's like, Will bro like these the exit meetings aren't
even exit meetings anymore. It's they walk in and it's
kind of like, hey, are you guys gonna be able
to get to this number? If not, I'll be in
the portal.
Speaker 1 (01:42:38):
Yeah, is nuts. It's good guys that get agents now,
like it allows the player to like step away from
it so you don't like jeopardize a relationship kind.
Speaker 5 (01:42:46):
Of which these are crazy because they're taking like ten
percent of you know, coaches hate that. It's like instead
of talking to the player, it's like, hey, you're gonna
be talking about agent like this this fucking guy. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:42:56):
Oh and they hate yeah, yeah, yeah, they hate agents.
Speaker 2 (01:43:03):
That is fucking nuts. Dude. They want to Yeah, they
got to, They got to, and we do taking ten percent,
that's crazy. That's not nuts crazy. You'd be better off
negotiating for yourself.
Speaker 6 (01:43:14):
Negotiate for yourself, negotiate something even lower and you'll still
get the same amount of money. And then I also
think that kids don't thinking about taxes either.
Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
Yeah Vanderbilt, Yeah, no sittinghom tax, no stadium.
Speaker 5 (01:43:24):
How do you guys, how do you guys even get
privy to that? Like the tax of you guys?
Speaker 1 (01:43:28):
We have meetings, students, they make it so good about that.
Speaker 6 (01:43:30):
They have meetings about everything really literally everything. There's an
agent meeting, uh things tomorrow morning, tomorrow morning.
Speaker 1 (01:43:37):
Yeah, tell us about NFL agents and stuff for.
Speaker 5 (01:43:39):
The guys that there's agents that take I bet there is.
Speaker 1 (01:43:42):
Yeah, you could get it.
Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
You stay a couple of guys. Hey, last time you
were here in the summertime, we talked about you having
other offers to go elsewhere. Did you say the number
when we're on the bus last time?
Speaker 1 (01:43:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:43:58):
I think he did, because he did.
Speaker 2 (01:44:00):
I was like, yeah, four point five. Did you say
the school?
Speaker 1 (01:44:03):
They did that?
Speaker 6 (01:44:04):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:44:04):
Are you willing to say it now we're past it?
Speaker 1 (01:44:06):
No?
Speaker 6 (01:44:06):
No, No, I won't say it. I will say it
later on in life.
Speaker 2 (01:44:11):
Okay, yeah, all right, okay.
Speaker 6 (01:44:14):
Probably the Titans, was hey, telling that telling the Titan story? Please?
Speaker 4 (01:44:20):
Oh yeah. We were at a dinner or something and something.
Speaker 3 (01:44:25):
It was like fancy people, some rich person and then
uh some oh the Owner's Titans, like their brass was there,
some of their people. And I was like, oh, woul,
y'all draft diego, you know, and they're got They're like.
Speaker 4 (01:44:39):
He's a little small for us. They said. We were
kind of like guys like this guy.
Speaker 3 (01:44:42):
And they pointed to one of their players was sitting
there and they're like, this guy's six seven, And I
was like, that guy's one and seven, eight and two
right now in the toughest conference. I'm like, I know
it's not apples to apples, but fucking you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:44:58):
That is.
Speaker 4 (01:45:01):
Guy, It's just it's like, what would you lose?
Speaker 3 (01:45:04):
Like, especially five thousand extra people would buy tickets every
week to go across town and watch him or to
watch Kate play guys that they know and care about
from watching the team here, you know, watching number eleven.
Speaker 4 (01:45:14):
What's that guy's name? Long Long Fellow, long Well.
Speaker 6 (01:45:18):
And Longwell grew up here too.
Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
He really Yeah, yeah, that guy's great, dude. I mean,
there's so many of the players if you pulled him in,
like they have nothing to lose. They're losing right now.
Speaker 4 (01:45:26):
So what do you got then? Nothing?
Speaker 6 (01:45:28):
Not? This guy plays like Fred Warren.
Speaker 1 (01:45:30):
He is a dog and he's young too. I think
he's a true sophomore.
Speaker 2 (01:45:33):
Yeah, oh no, ship, he is a no.
Speaker 6 (01:45:36):
Yeah, they got to keep him.
Speaker 1 (01:45:37):
He's either true sophomore or true junior.
Speaker 2 (01:45:40):
It seems like Fandy's gonna be solid for a couple
more years.
Speaker 5 (01:45:43):
It's yeah, the way everybody's talking about this, this Corbet.
Speaker 1 (01:45:45):
Who's he?
Speaker 6 (01:45:46):
Georgia, He's the George is the king of losing number one?
He's the second. I got everybody in class this year.
Speaker 2 (01:45:53):
Who's the number one?
Speaker 6 (01:45:54):
I can't remember? He used to be number one, but
he dropped a number two.
Speaker 5 (01:45:59):
What are you doing?
Speaker 2 (01:45:59):
Uh, okay, let's say citrus heart's broken, we don't go
to the playoff. You're playing that game? Do you already
have a plan for Uh? I think it's.
Speaker 6 (01:46:10):
Yeah, I'm not even cheese about it.
Speaker 1 (01:46:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:46:13):
Well, let's just say after the season, what is what
is your plan for getting ready for the combine? Do
you know where you're gonna go and do all that?
Speaker 6 (01:46:21):
No, I don't know. I don't have an NFL agent yet.
I just like to think about winning this playoffs. But
I'll probably take like two weeks off to let my
body recover a little bit, do some recovery, and uh,
I'll get back in the weight room and be ready for.
Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
Pro day doing the combine.
Speaker 6 (01:46:40):
Yeah, I'm gonna do the combine too. What what do
you think you're running in the forty Yeah, I don't know.
I've got a lot faster since last year. I would
probably say like four to nine low four six, oh
for middle four six.
Speaker 5 (01:46:58):
Speed, moving speak, kills speak do you guys?
Speaker 6 (01:47:04):
Oh, I gotta get my nose fixed to more aero dynamic.
Speaker 1 (01:47:07):
Was you in your nose?
Speaker 6 (01:47:09):
I broke it during Saturday's game? First drive you.
Speaker 5 (01:47:14):
Shiner?
Speaker 2 (01:47:16):
Yeah, you did have a little black guy to stop
maybe Broadway getting nuts? How did you break it?
Speaker 1 (01:47:30):
Can't this thing?
Speaker 6 (01:47:32):
You gotta try it.
Speaker 2 (01:47:34):
How awful sleeping at night with a broken nose?
Speaker 5 (01:47:36):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (01:47:36):
Did the words? You wake up every like hour?
Speaker 2 (01:47:39):
It's the worst?
Speaker 1 (01:47:39):
Yeah? God.
Speaker 5 (01:47:41):
One thing I want to ask you guys went to
a bowl game last year? Like, what's what's the feeling
around bowl games?
Speaker 6 (01:47:46):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:47:47):
I don't know, it's yeah, definitely say last year.
Speaker 6 (01:47:51):
I mean it was cool to go last year because
vandert Bilt hasn't been to a bowl game in a while,
so that was cool. And then we got to play
a good team Georgia Tech. We gotta play haynes Key
hanging skiing is the best. He's good.
Speaker 5 (01:48:03):
But as far as like prepping for a bowl game
and everything else, like you, because there's a lot of
teams that like sit a bunch of guys out, Like
he said, did Vandy have guys sitting out and stuff
last year? Like what does it mean like when you
guys are sitting there practicing to.
Speaker 6 (01:48:13):
The best story of it all. So this is like
during contract negotiations, right, It's like this is like if
you're not your contract doesn't sign, Like it's like, okay,
you do your practice, do you not? Eli stood out
until his contract was signed, so like he didn't practice
the whole week until like Tuesday before the game. He
was like hurt too though little Yeah he was hurt
a little bit, but he could have practiced like the
(01:48:34):
last week he was dragging it out.
Speaker 5 (01:48:36):
Yeah, it's just so nuts, man. It's like it's it's
like the NFL, it's like trickling down, but with college
it's like every year, there's not like three four years.
Speaker 6 (01:48:45):
You're saying, like a free actor, Yes, so you're gonna
start signing at least two year deals.
Speaker 2 (01:48:49):
I think, Yeah, I think some guys down for a
couple of years for sure. I think you need to
do away with I think bowl games do not matter
at all. Everyone's focused on college fall playoffs and if
you don't make it like, if you guys don't make
the playoff, like you don't, guys will give a ship
about the Citrus Bowl. No disrespect, you don't give it.
You don't care about these other bowl games. What they
need to do is these playings and then like the
(01:49:11):
Citrus Bowl and the Sugar Bowl and you know all
these other like relevant bowl games now have relevant games
that people are looking to get into the playoff.
Speaker 1 (01:49:19):
Yeah, they just make the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (01:49:22):
I need Nebraska to get eight wins.
Speaker 2 (01:49:25):
That's all good news that they are right now your
floor next year seven.
Speaker 4 (01:49:30):
You've got seven wins out of a whole season.
Speaker 2 (01:49:36):
He goes, you got seven wins out of the whole season.
Speaker 5 (01:49:39):
We're seven and three, dropped the last two.
Speaker 1 (01:49:42):
Who's do you guys have an? Is there another one?
Speaker 5 (01:49:45):
No season? Regular season done? That's why we need this
bowl games. Oh yeah, just encouragement, optimism.
Speaker 6 (01:49:54):
You're betting they're over And I'm trying to tell.
Speaker 2 (01:49:56):
I was trying to tell, Like last year Michigan was
seven and five. We were seven to five. Last year
we played Alabama, we beat Alabama in the bowl game.
I don't think Alabama has another loss. I don't think
Michigan has another win. It's just a bowl game. You
just playing.
Speaker 1 (01:50:13):
It's over.
Speaker 2 (01:50:13):
It doesn't count towards your regular season scaling wins and losses.
Speaker 5 (01:50:17):
It's just.
Speaker 1 (01:50:20):
It does You can bet on bowl games game?
Speaker 5 (01:50:23):
Oh yeah, let me see, let me see if mine settled.
Speaker 6 (01:50:27):
It's not gonna say it's settled, but trust me. I
made the same bet for South Carolina and it's not anything. Well,
yeah they're three and whatever four.
Speaker 1 (01:50:35):
Old Nebraska being uh Nashville, it says.
Speaker 5 (01:50:38):
But it's seven and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:50:40):
It's over seven and a half regular season wins.
Speaker 5 (01:50:42):
Yeah, it's settled.
Speaker 3 (01:50:44):
Yeah, you know if the team, did they already pick
who's gonna be in the college football playoffs or not?
Speaker 2 (01:50:49):
No, no, you'll be on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (01:50:52):
And can they pick any teams to be in it?
Or does it have to be certain teams?
Speaker 5 (01:50:56):
There's gonna be certain teams. It's like the top five
ranked conference champions they get automatic bids and then from there. Yeah,
I think it's all like at large.
Speaker 3 (01:51:09):
So they could put a team that's number nineteen in
there if they wanted to, and there's no nobody could
say anything about it.
Speaker 5 (01:51:13):
If if Duke wins this weekend, if Duke beats Virginia
in the a CC Championship. Two G five teams from
the G five conferences they will get in, so JMU
or Tulane in North Texas two. Because we're sitting here
trying to break it down, like I'm like, I do
hope you guys get in the playoffs. But playing on
the other side, it's like, this is what happens, Like
words are going to be room to get Vandy in.
(01:51:36):
If X, Y and Z happens, they gotta put him
in Notre Dame, Notre Dame Miami's ten and two.
Speaker 2 (01:51:44):
I don't think it's gonna happen, but I really hope
you guys because.
Speaker 5 (01:51:50):
Texas is out there arguing for their three lost season.
Yeah at blow it up, right, that sucks.
Speaker 6 (01:52:01):
Yeah, this is what you want to play for.
Speaker 1 (01:52:04):
It's either in or you win your bowl game by
fifty and just be like we should have been in,
you know, yeah, yes, I don't think they can leave
us out of it. And then it's like, once we're in,
we're gonna win it all.
Speaker 5 (01:52:17):
Like I know there's gonna be those those few teams.
It's like you can't leave them out of it. But
then a couple of them are gonna be told are.
Speaker 1 (01:52:26):
Going to have there, Like if they put the put
Bandy and Diego Pobby in the playoff, it's like, well,
they're just gonna win it all and that just wouldn't
look good for them. I feel like, hell, yeah, that's
what they're thinking.
Speaker 3 (01:52:38):
Do they let you know in advance or does your
team only find out it a certain.
Speaker 1 (01:52:42):
It's like live, It's like we'll have like a viewing thing.
Speaker 5 (01:52:45):
Yeah, double watch along selection Sunday. All the schools will
be sitting there watching and then they'll get it now
and still have a reaction.
Speaker 2 (01:52:51):
Hey there you guys.
Speaker 5 (01:52:52):
Hope you guys are celebrating the selection Sunday a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:52:58):
There's no doubt.
Speaker 10 (01:52:59):
You sow many teams in the playoff currently. If you
into the season right now, would want to play Vanderbilt zero.
Speaker 5 (01:53:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:53:09):
It's the same thing that happened with South Carolina last year.
It's like they were the hottest team at the time.
Speaker 5 (01:53:14):
I think we're really gonna have an idea who's gonna
get in based on because this episode is tomorrow, so Tuesday,
as everybody's listening tonight, when they have the rankings, we're
gonna know who's probably gonna get it, who's probably gonna
be left out if they got If they got both
Notre Dame and Miami above Vanderbilt, then it's good. It's
just they don't play a game this weekend. So once
selection Sunday happens, those are gonna be the teams that
(01:53:36):
would get in before you.
Speaker 3 (01:53:37):
So so so so the ranks does matter that that
so that does determine.
Speaker 5 (01:53:42):
In this scenario, the rankings, the rankings still kind of
tell you these are the teams to get in. But
no matter what, automatic teams that get in is the
five highest ranked conference champions. So Duke, who's not even
ranked if they beat Virginia, Virginia is gonna fall out
of rankings, Tulane or Texas, gamis you. They're all probably
in the ranking somewhere, not very high, but they'll get
(01:54:03):
in above a Vanderbilt, potentially in Miami, potentially a Notre
Dame Texas.
Speaker 2 (01:54:10):
Yeah, it sucks, Yeah, it is a it's a it's
a messy situation for you guys, for sure. If you
guys don't go with the playoff, would you humor the
idea of not playing the bowl game.
Speaker 6 (01:54:26):
As long as everyone plays as long as ye, as
long as everyone is it's still willing to play. Maybe
Eli will sit out, but that'll probably be the only one.
Speaker 1 (01:54:37):
We don't get in the playoff. Dude, we got on.
Speaker 5 (01:54:38):
Situation hadn't even unfolded, probably right now, and I hope, like,
what all right?
Speaker 6 (01:54:48):
What the.
Speaker 5 (01:54:51):
Had up for your best possible chance to get in?
Is Texas Tech winning, Virginia winning, beating Duke, and then
Bama getting blown out by Georgia.
Speaker 1 (01:55:02):
What if Tech blows out b y u UVA blows
out Duke and Bama's close.
Speaker 5 (01:55:08):
I bet Bama stays in.
Speaker 6 (01:55:10):
But I thought they said they can't use this against them.
Speaker 2 (01:55:13):
They don't hold a lot of weight. They're going to
hold a lot of weight.
Speaker 5 (01:55:16):
They lost.
Speaker 2 (01:55:17):
They use by multi two, two touchdowns, three scores, whatever
it is. That's when it's like, Okay, do we have
it right Yeah? Do we have it right now? If
it's a game, it's a field goals, it's a one
touchdown and they lose, because you think, like, if you're
Alabama and you get held out of the of the
conference championship or out of the playoff, what does their
seging look like? They're gonna beat down the doors too
(01:55:39):
and be like, what the fuck is this? You guys
said it doesn't matter now we're talking about these conference
championship games don't matter at all. So it's it's a
it's a it's gonna be messy no matter what. Who
would you rather piss off to? If you're college football
Bama or Vanderbilt Bama, Yeah, you would not want to
piss them off more.
Speaker 1 (01:55:57):
You want to know, I feel like they'd want to
not piss us. They want to not piss Bama off
because it's Bama, right, And they're like, oh, it's still
just banner bros.
Speaker 2 (01:56:05):
The logo. That's when the logo plays against you.
Speaker 6 (01:56:07):
We have something like that.
Speaker 2 (01:56:08):
Though we know we're sitting you guys should be in
and I agree with you. However, that's not how the
world views this.
Speaker 5 (01:56:14):
We're their position at right now is you guys are
twelve and the no, that's the And then they dropped
last week by.
Speaker 2 (01:56:23):
Three tons and they dropped in the eight people.
Speaker 6 (01:56:25):
But I think they're trying to use your verse psychology
because last week we went up in the eight people
but went down in the other pool. So hopefully they'll
just flip it.
Speaker 1 (01:56:32):
They're just trying to mess with us.
Speaker 5 (01:56:36):
Dude, what a season?
Speaker 1 (01:56:40):
You got like five more games?
Speaker 5 (01:56:41):
Chao awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:56:42):
It is crazy. We're all gonna sit here just kind
of watching, loving what's going on. And their minds are
just like all I care about Joe Moore, Heisman and
making the playoffs. We're just sitting here being like this
is crazy, right, and they're like, this is our fucking life,
Like we're all we're all entertained by your guys' life
right now.
Speaker 4 (01:56:59):
It's so crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:57:00):
Think about like a friend of mine was saying, how
they never like they've never even known how to act
when the team is winning, like in the third quarter,
Like sometimes they're like the crowd was silent like early
in the season, they'd never been there.
Speaker 4 (01:57:11):
They have no idea what to do. It's not like
they're passing out a flyer, it's like, okay, this is
how you act now.
Speaker 3 (01:57:16):
Like they've been like they've stood like little to no chance.
And I don't mean that negatively, but overall, they've always
kind of like they haven't really known what to do
when they were winning or in a position and win,
how to even act in that used to lose.
Speaker 5 (01:57:29):
Your right used to being angry and arguing with whoever's
next film.
Speaker 3 (01:57:32):
So this is a change of culture, man, I mean,
and I think that's one thing about the Heisman that
that I think it's like the perseverance that it takes
to stay in there. That's one of the words that
they use when they describe who should win the Heisman,
you know, the perseverance that it takes to stay in
there and what you're dealing with. Like, I think it's
a whole different thing that happened here.
Speaker 5 (01:57:49):
Yeah, yeah, you're you're gonna be set up, bro, good luck.
