Boys, Taylor has three words and a number for you.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Twelve leg parlay. These are teen thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
That was the number.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yes, sorry, okay, but twelve is also technically yeah, it's
two numbers. Yeah, words, Yeah, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
These are the kinds of plays that are getting made
on the Fandels Sports Book, and thanks to Boosting with
the Boys profit boost tokens, all customers are able to
boost their college football Saturday parlay.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Now, let's check this thing out. Is this person used
the boost in PBT. This is his winner right here,
and it's a bit of a mouthful, so buckle up.
This person wager a fifteen dollars on a twelve l
a parlay. That's one hundred and four thousand and six
one hundred and sixty five odds. One hundred and four thousand,
six hundred and sixty five five. This is stuff we've
dream up. This genius won fifteen seven hundred and fourteen
(02:09):
dollars and don't forget the eighty cents at the end
of that thing. Six of these picks were spread picks
Memphis to cover over Rice, Ohio State to cover versus
Penn State, Texas to cover versus Vanderbilt, SMU to cover
versus Miami, Boston College to cover, versus Notre Dame, Indiana
to cover at Maryland. The other six picks were total
match point picks under Miami, SMU over Indiana, Maryland over Vanderbilt,
(02:33):
Texas over Penn State, Ohio State over Memphis, Rice, under
Notre Dame Boston College.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
You guys know the drill. Hit the FanDuel Sportsbook cap app,
tap that boosting with the boys PBT and cook up
something real nice for this college football Saturday.
Speaker 3 (02:49):

b USSI n to download the app to day.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Josh Bate, Yeah, good morning. How are you doing.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
I'm doing well. I look at the one in four
all right, Hey, you know over the weekend, it's.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Not what he's asking. He's not asking about your record.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
I'm looking at you, but also through you. Do you
know what's behind you? Do you know. The only need
to sign that's behind you that I care about. That's
that you told me last week. You told him last week,
You told America last week. When we leaned in right here,
we clasped hands. You were little later than me and him,
but we still clasped hands, and you said, kiss your
(03:29):
families goodbye. We may not come back. And I got
to tell you, I took it seriously. And I have
not seen Savannah since last week.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
A man hasn't seen his wife because of the Huskers.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yeah. Look, we didn't come back Ilan Rail. It doesn't
go down to the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
We win it.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
We win that week.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
That's not even a question.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
It's not it's not. I mean, it's it's hard to
play those hypotheticals. Not in my head. Uh Yeah, it
was tough, man, face was paying. The boys were in there.
We were all blocked out together, bringing the noise, bringing
the juice. Nebraska took the fight to USC held that offense,
that passing offense to I think I believe under two
hundred yards secondary showed up.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yeah, man, it was it was tough. But I'll tell
you what, it's a bad week to be a bruin.
Because I don't know if you saw any of the pressers.
I watch all of them, and I'm on the phones like, hey,
what's how how are the boys feeling? Because this, you know,
I'm telling the ball coaches. This is where you find
out about your team right here. Playoff hope's kind of
(04:39):
gone pretty much ninety nine percent gone, ninety nine point
nine percent gone. There's always a chance you need you
need a lot to happen.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
You see pretty much gone nine nine percent gone, nine
nine point nine percent. And now I'm all got that.
I was like, Will is going to figure out wayoffs?
Speaker 1 (04:54):
You need a lot to happen.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
We're now in the We're not in the world where
a ten and two team is not going to get it.
Yeah it's nine, but.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
These teams start losing. You truly never know. It's all
the same.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
And as we've seen, because our picks are never wrong,
these kids can be wrong. Yeah, yeah, these kids can
be wrong. A nine and three Nebraska football teams can
make the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yeah, but this is where it's like the mentality shifts
a little bit. You don't make the playoffs, who's gonna
go out to UCLA? And it was a it was
a tone setter to where, Hey, you lick your wounds
for twenty four hours, but when you show up on Tuesday,
you're either fucking in or you're out. If you have
any doubt in your mind, you don't have to walk
through those doors. Tire team shows up. Everybody's juice, the mentality.
(05:34):
You see it in everybody's press conference. The boys are
ready to rally behind TJ. Latifu's going home Compton, California
and playing us in front of his family and friends.
Get a get a week of prep as the starting QB.
He can run around a little bit. He's dynamic with
his legs. So there is an ass whoop in bruin
in UCLA right now, which.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Is important because last time we saw teams hopes and
dreams crushed and then went to the Rose Bowl the
next week it was Penn State. Yeah remember what that
looks like?
Speaker 1 (06:05):
And yeah, Penn State. Now, people I feel like are
just throwing away Oregon season a little bit. I know
they're nine, they're still ranked, they're in the College Football
Playoff right now, but I just feel like people are
over I feel like the College Football Playoff has positioned
Iowa twenty Oregon at nine. This game's kind of up
(06:26):
in the air this weekend. But one slip up here
by Oregon, yep, and they're pretty much out of it.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
I don't know that they're pretty much out of it.
I think they are on the bubble as a two
loss team in a way that you didn't think they'd
be on the bubble because I think the three of
us have sat here. We were talking about Nebraska when
we said a two lost Big ten, but it turns
out we could have been talking about Oregon. But we've
all agreed, Hey, a two lost Big ten team's going
to be in. A two loss SEC team is going
to be and you just kind of say that, you
just kind of blanketly believe that. All right, Well, now
(06:53):
we enter a world where the AP's got organ at six,
but the Playoff Committe's got them all the way down
at nine because they keep devaluing that Penn State. We've
already gone over that here and how that may be
a little stupid. So it doesn't matter because we're not
on the committee this year. Maybe next year, but not
this year. So if they go and they lose to Iowa,
which is a game, we're gonna break down really competitive game.
(07:14):
If they lose close to Iowa, that's their second loss.
They got to count on USC being a ranked win.
They got to count on Washington being a ranked win.
Oh by the way, they got to go beat them,
but they got to count on those being ranked wins
or else They're gonna be sitting there at the end
of the day. And their biggest win was supposed to
be Penn State. That's supposed to be the one that
can hang their hat on. The committee's going to sit there.
Nobody under the age of ninety three on that committee
(07:34):
saying ah. First off, I was asleep at halftime of
that game. Secondly, the paper here says Penn State's not
even ranked. That's a five loss team. That's not a
quality win. I highly advise Dan Lanning, this is free.
I highly advise Dan Lanning in Oregon to go ahead
and try and win all their games.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Yeah, they're not leaving out a one loss to Oregon.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
I know that what happens if Oregon wins game, but
Washington beats Oregon, Michigan beats Ohio State soon now have
three ten and two teams in the Big Ten. Ohio
State's eleven and one Indiana's twelve and Ozer going the
Big Ten Championship. Is this true or not? Like they
did know, they're not valuing conference games anymore? Is that
a conference title game? Conference title games?
Speaker 2 (08:18):
They value them, but they don't value them in a
sense that you're going to get knocked out if you
lose them. Basically that's what they say. I don't know
that that's true. Like you did have it.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
You could have a situation that happens with with BYU.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah, or in the ACC yeah. Yeah. So last year,
for example, SMU was in the top twelve going into
conference title Saturday. They lose on Conference Title Saturday, but
the committee didn't drop them out because the thinking was,
we're not going to punish you for playing in your conference.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Title game and an extra game and everybody else.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
But then SMU went and got smoked in the playoff.
Now that should not matter, But I don't know that
it won't matter in future iterations of the playoff selection
process because it really is a TV product at the
end of the day. Again, not advocating for that to
be the criteria. I'm just saying those are people in
the room and there's a lot of money on the line,
So we'll see if that carries weight this year.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
So if Michigan's ten and two, Washington's ten and two,
Oregon's ten and two, who's the dog that gets left out?
Speaker 2 (09:16):
So you got Ohio State in, you get Indiana in.
Give me the other ones.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Oregon, Oregon ten and two lose to Washington.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Lost to Washington.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Because Washington has two losses, they play Washington in the year.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Okay, so you got a head to head Washington over Oregon, yep.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
And then Washington. Washington has to win out. Oregon loses
to Washington, Michigan wins out.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
I think Michigan would be in where they would have
a win over Ohio State, right, yeah, yeah, you have
so they have the best win in the country. They
will have also had a loss at Oklahoma. Oklahoma's a
highly ranked team right now. Who would their other loss
have been to usc us C is also a ranked
team and that was on the road. I think Michigan
would be your playoff team.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
So Washington would then be out or would Oregon be
out because Washington be at Oregon?
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Maybe Organ which would be nuts. It may be Organ.
I'd have to look at all those fancy.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Like you said, highly advised. Just win the rest of them.
Just win the rest.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
We're playing hypothetical games here.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
You do whatever you want to. Yeah, I'm just saying show.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Just having a little fun.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
What ifs If.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
I were Dan Lanning, I would win the games if
I were him. But if I were him, I also
wouldn't wear cotton in the pouring rain. But he did
against Wisconsin. And you want to see something as we
kick off? Okay, now we got to keep the sources
private here. Landing played Wisconsin two weeks ago. It was
pouring down rain and he wore cotton, and I was
(10:35):
worried about hypothermia, like I was worried about health. So
they're going to play Iowa this week. It's going to
be in the forties. It's going to be pouring down rain.
I sat on my show last night. Someone in the
organ equipment room has to wise up and get Landing
something to wear other than cotton. Do you want to
read that out loud?
Speaker 1 (10:51):
The gray I tried to talk to D. I tried
to talk D line or I tried to talk D
l into a jacket, and he responded with my mama
didn't raise no bitch. True story three laughing emojis.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
So Dan's probably going cotton again on the road this Saturday.
He knows it's gonna pour, he knows it's going to
be in the forties. He may not come back. Talk
about us not coming back. He may not come back.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Already not back. We're gone because he joined us being gone.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
We got in the fox hole at the worst possible time.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Yeah, we kind of knew it too.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
That's the nature of right.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
It's like feary, you said the tank, Brad Pitt says
he's not leaving, and I was like, fuck, I guess
we gotta stay too.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yep, you know it's probably the way we would have
wanted to go out.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Absolutely, there are no moral victories. I was proud of
the fight.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
Because Mississippi staking a moral victory versus Georgia this week.
That is the question, because those two teams are playing.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
It's not my hand got straight up.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Somebody who's positioned perfectly for the collegewall playoffs, in my opinion,
is Utah. He get to end with the is it
TCU Kansas? Who's the third? Is it this week? Baylor?
I mean, they could be sitting down, they're just they're
just bet down the hall in the waiting room, waiting
for the chaos to you know, Texas Tech BYU whatever.
It could be a rematch in the Big twelve Championship. Man,
(12:10):
it would be brutal. Say if whoever loses this weekend
they end up getting back in the Big twelve Championship. Yeah,
there's gonna be a whole lot of chaos, But that's
why we love this game.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Utah is like the cleaning crew in john Wick, Like
there's a bunch of chaos going on outside the door,
and then once it's all over, there just walking clean
stuff up and there in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Yeah, hold on, So so pick this through. All right,
We got BYU Texas Tech this weekend, right, Utah is
just kind of sitting there. They're already a two loss team,
but they're sitting there. There were what twelve or eleven
or something like that last night? Where were they ranked
I somewhere somewhere in the we fast forward a month,
Utah just wins out. They're tending to Briggan Young loses
(12:48):
this weekend at Texas Tech, so they're both one loss teams.
They go the rest of the way. They rematch in
the Big twelve title game Texas Tech beats him again,
would the committee drop a two loss Brigham Young whose
second loss came in the conference title game behind Utah,
who Brigham Young beat as Utah sits at home on
(13:12):
conference championship Saturday. Now that is what we call a
classic conundrum. You remember the thing we did last week
about the ACC how they could get three teams and
maybe it was the Big twelve the whole time.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Maybe it was it.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Game by Yeah, yeah, multiple turnover. Not that this matters,
but like.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Saying the Holy War, a three point loss BYU was
at home, I'd say they dropped. They they throw out
b Yu, it be Utah.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
And we call it college football playoff prime Evil, which.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Will be the subject of my conversation when we get
at the true classic game week. Because this is the
third time BYU's made it on our show.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
I'm not having it. Yeah. Well, look, they've they've taken
care of business man there what was there over under
in the sportsbook gab before good question season was six
and a half seven and somewhere around there. Yeah, they've
been thinkingbody, they've been soaking their way all the way
to the end, yep.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
All the way how they held it for this long,
that's the question.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Yeah, all right.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Number five Georgia. They're at Mississippi State. Georgia's favored eight
and a half points team, doesn't start very fast in
the first half. Total points in that game is fifty
seven and a half. My question is, is Georgia slub
walk through their entire season so far? Other than Alabama
obviously got them a little bit, but they've started slow.
They kind of just let teams hang around. They're down
by four against Florida. They end up coming back, but
(14:31):
they never seem like they're a team that's gonna be
They're never just a waiver. It's always like, yeah, they're
they're gonna get the point they are. We're gonna turn
on Gunnar Stockton. We need you on the ground, Gunnar Stockton,
we need you through the air, and anything that has
Gunnar Stockton to do eventually he just does it and
they end up winning that game. Mississippi State's give it
up one hundred and seventy four yards on the ground
per game right now, and I think with this Mississippi
(14:52):
State team, it's like they've played a lot of these teams. Farewell,
Tennessee Texas to where if you're Kirby Smart and you're
in the perfect position to know you can drop one
and maybe other teams do. I don't think Kirby Smart
lets his team do that. I'm thinking Georgia minus eight
and a half.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Georgia let me down against Florida on the one, Yeah,
on the one.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Sniff.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
You know Kirby watches the show. He laughed, He's like,
you're up for they cover seven and a half and
you're on the one yard line. You can't just I get,
I understand the integrity of the game. To me, my
whole thought was like, if you're outside of the five,
the knee, I'm totally cool with, but you're on the
fucking one yard line, just just punch it in. Yeah, yeah,
(15:38):
just fall forward right. Save of America.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Well, you remember Saints versus the Falcons when Arthur Smith
was the head coach of the Falcons. Jamis Winston was
a quarterback of Saints. They were on the one yard line.
Game was pretty much over it. They punched it in.
Arthur Smith had a shitfit about that.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Yeah, but this wasn't even a play. This is a
guy going into the end zone and takes a knee
basically throws double barrel middle fingers up at the hard
camera after he does it. Yeah, I know that hurt.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Yeah, even if you're gunner stocked and just like I
know it's on the line here, Hey, fellas coaches calling
a knee here.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
This, Yeah, I'll take a knee two yards into the
end zone.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Yeah exactly. So where we going.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
This game?
Speaker 3 (16:23):
So we're pissed off about it? Yeah, Georgia's eight and
a half starts slow. Mississippi State, you can fly around
a little bit.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Just beat Arkansas last week, first conference win for Jeff Levey,
my dog of the week. Don't get any credit for it, whatever.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Georgia secretary. Are they fraudulent? People are wondering, People are saying.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Good play action game there at Mississippi State, one of
the best in the league.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
I'm taking Mississippi State. Oh plus a half. I'm taking
Mississippi State plus a Now I don't trust either defense.
Part of me wants to flirt with this fifty seven
and a half on the total.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
Cashay you something, look at my notes right here.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Over as in you as I thought I was gonna
read it, and you're gonna be like, I love the over. No, No,
you basically had the game breakdown Georgia seven.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
Say over, because there's two choices when you talk about
a total.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
That's the one, right. Yeah, I'm taking Mississippi State. Fuck it,
why not? I'm taking Mississippi State. They could easily be
I mean, how many losses they had that you've been
down with.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
The wire, overtime against Tennessee, overtime against Texas, had Florida
already won. I'm pretty sure the teams were going to
the locker room and then someone just said, never mind,
we don't want it. So it's three games.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
Yeah, yeah, I'm taking Mississippi State. Georgia's let me down
in a couple of spots. I know they're the Bulldogs.
I want to give Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs a
speech right now, but I can't do it.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
After you won the Old miss game for him, you
won the game for them, Gosh you did.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
That was a great speech too, Mississippi State. So did
he follow to your trap?
Speaker 2 (17:59):
No? I'm in there with him, Oh REALI states, Yeah,
we're in this track together. This works so well.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
So well, that's time we get these me just leaning
over the fifth bound. It always ends in a loss.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Let me hit the rewind button about three and a
half minutes. You said, Georgia keeps sleepwalking. Right. The implication
there is that George is this great team that keeps
messing around until it's time to kick it into gear
like vintage Georgia. And I would agree with you. If
the twenty twenty one Georgia team were on the field
and they kept playing like this, I'd say, yeah, they
just keep sleepwalking. They keep playing with their food until
(18:31):
it's really trying time to eat, and then they put
it away. I just kind of think this is Georgia.
I kind of think this is the team they are.
They're above average by Georgia standards. They're above average, they're
not elite. They don't have game breakers up front. Defensively,
they're wide, receiver rooms better. But I don't really think
it's become the quote unquote strength of the team that
they thought it may. Gunn Or Stockton has bailed them
(18:52):
out several times now. They're better running the ball than
they were last year. Yes, so they've improved the areas
they need to improve. So they've won some close games.
But like we were talking about with Mississippi State, George
is the verse, and there's a lot of skill to
being on the inverted side, where they win the close
game against Tennessee. They win the close game against Florida
last week, they come from the dead, come from behind
(19:13):
and being dead against Auburn, so they could have three
more losses, but they don't. But the line's not two
and a half. The lines eight and a half. So
they just came off the Florida game. They know they
got Texas coming in next week. And sandwiched in between
is this eleven am kickoff in Starkville, Mississippi. I was
at SMU last week. I saw Miami sleepwalk. I see
what it's like for a big favorite to have to
(19:35):
play an eleven am game, and it's not easy. Now,
George is a lot more disciplined than mentally tough than
Miami is. But I just think there's not that big
a gap between the teams either, So there's not a
ton that has to go wrong for Georgia. It's not
like a true David and Goliath type of scenario that
Mississippi State has to put together. I just think they
(19:56):
can hang with him an eight and a half too
many points, So I'm gonna ride with you with like.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Mississippi State, I feel like that locker room, that team
feels like they're just playing with house money. They've been
in every game, bro, They've had a lot of life
downe there after just I mean, they've been terrible historically,
but yeah, I just yeah, George is gonna let you
there're one hundred and thirty fourth at getting after the Pastor.
I didn't even know there's one hundred and thirty four
teams in the in the in college football. I thought
(20:22):
it was one thirty two more than that. There's not
a few more than that. All right, I feel like
we got to this. By the way, Hey, are you switching?
Speaker 3 (20:32):
No, no, no, no, I'm just sitting there because as
you're talking, Josh, I just keep looking at that record.
Are you excited for this?
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Well?
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Because Superior is worth playing for michelob Ultra. Yes, sir,
are we five and five right now? When it comes
we're playing for an Ultra five and six? I'm down one, Okay,
I'm down one for a mikeel Ol Ultra, Will.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
Compton Superior bragging right, Superior light beer for the Ultra.
Speaker 3 (21:04):
Let's go, and we're at five hundred.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
This game is stupid.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
But he came back to the episode and I'm thinking
to myself, OK, we're about to talk about text A
and M missoo. That's also a big line. Text anem
is going to missoo, their big favorite, two score favorite.
I know where I'm leaning, and based on this conversation,
maybe you guys are leaning the other way. So maybe
this is finally as us are speaking like, maybe this
is finally separation Saturday.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
I'm leading.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
I'm going A and M oh perfect, it's missoo all day.
I'm going an M problo? Is it problo prebulah whatever
Penn State transfers. He gets an achy injury that he
was in a quarterback battler in the year that starting quarterback.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
He gets hurt. There's a five star I don't know
anything about this five star kid. Clump knows, but malars
five star kid, and he couldn't say one damn good
thing about him. And I know Clump is the troll
of the when it comes to teams, but everyone talks
about battered aggie syndrome. And I go to jiu jitsu
(22:06):
every Tuesday night and there's always a dad there. He
and I sit and talk while our kids are doing it.
And he's a big Aggi fan and LSU game, he's like,
this is the one where were Goeta let down. This
is the one and there's like a tourney. There's you
can see a shift starting with him like, maybe not
this year. Maybe we're finally the team that's going to
finish our season undefeated, and this is the week we
(22:26):
finally get to go do it. Mikeel Go, friend of
the Show. I think that defensive line is incredible. I
think they're more Missouri is more one dimensional than ever,
and I like Texas A and M. I think it's
finally time somebody starts going, hey, this team's undefeated for
a reason. It's not just because of their schedule. They're
actually that good. So I'll be texting taking Texas A
(22:48):
and M.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
They could win this game. I'm just the line right now.
Seven and a half points the total on this game
forty eight and a half. We went through all we
sat here and talked about with the college, will will
playoff playing all these hypotheticals too long, this two loss
that like what teams are in we're talking about big
ten teams, SEC teams, a team that right now with
two losses. Is the Missouri Tigers coming off of a
(23:09):
bye week classic need versus one? It Yes, back against
the wall at Columbia off of bye week, an emotional,
tough loss against vander You look at the box score
of that game, the team stats statistically missoo. Massoo just
didn't take advantage of their opportunity. Uh, Prabula goes down.
What do you not like about Zolars.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
Clumb I saw Matt Zolers play Easton High School in
Pennsylvania and he through five interceptions in that game.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Exactly live arm.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
That's all that tells me. You just need some coaching
from the Missouri Tigers.
Speaker 5 (23:39):
From Coast Drink, Easton had zero wins that year.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
He had zero wins that year.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
I wrote Easton had zero wins that year.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
He paper horrible that year. Ahmad Hardy, that defensive line
from Massoo, Damian Wilson, talk to your ship, son, this
is gonna be this and this is a game. They're
back is against the wall. They are They're not in
any conversation on the College for All playoff, but they're
six and two and they have them at Missou. It's
(24:08):
A and M seven and a half point spread. It's
gonna be a close game. There's gonna be a dogfight, Amatt, Hardy,
hold on, just hold on.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
A second's going with you?
Speaker 1 (24:19):
Hold on?
Speaker 2 (24:21):
You could I just ask something, not from me, like
from coach Drink threw me to you. He's given me
permission to speak for him. Not in the playoff conversation.
Not in the playoff conversation. A and M was ranked
what last night third? If you beat Texas A and
M at home? Are you not right there in the
(24:41):
top twelve.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
They're talking about the bubble teams as Oh, Oklahoma and Texas.
What about the Missoo Tigers.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
No, no, no, I'm asking you that you just eliminated them.
I'm asking you about Missouri. You just said they're not
really in the playoff conversation. Are you projecting a future
lasses No, no, no, no, no no no.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
I'm saying if this this game is a close off,
like I think this is going to be a fistfight
of a game, I'm saying, nobody's talking about them. They
are a tough football team with a three point loss
to Alabama and a very tough loss. Not taking advantage
of their opportunity here at Vanderbilt. When the stats tell
you that they were the better football team that game.
So I'm saying this is upset alert for Texas, A
(25:20):
and M. Nobody's talking about the Missouri Tiers. Drink he
gets in some of these head coaching conversations, but I
feel like people see it and it's just they're kind
of throwing at where's Lane kiffinat on the board, where's
Marcus Freeman, Where's Nick Saban?
Speaker 3 (25:34):
Not Drink, He's just on the paper. I've seen him
drink on a lot of coaches.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
No, you've seen him. But I'm saying just universally, I
feel like the way you sit there and look at
it and think about the Missouri Tigers, you think of
Eli Drink and it's just a name on the paper.
You're not staring at that name on the paper. This
is a team that just doesn't People just don't even
put them in these categories with head coaching job. They're
on the paper for the College wall Playoff, but nobody's
actually considering them for the college football Playoff.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
You gotta love if you're a Missouri fan watching the show,
and one of the biggest talking points is Drink needs
to win this so he can get a better job.
Drink needs to win this so his name rises up
the hot boards. Hey, I think you're gonna have a
good week, though. I think you're going to have a
good week because I'm buying everything that you're selling about Missouri.
And let me add something if I could, like you,
(26:22):
you made some great points already. He got us to
the doorstep. Allow me to kick it down. Kick it in, brother,
backup quarterback off of bye, back up quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Off of Bye Taylor.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
It's a magic elixir. You don't want your starter, you
don't want your starting quarterback playing. You want the backup playing.
There's a reason he was on the bench. Ya weapon,
hidden weapon, and Mikekelko's got no clue right not in
general my GNBA.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
A couple weeks ago in Vanderbilt, you're like, we're not
going to release him now. We want to do it
at this eleven am kickoff, one of our seasons on
the line versus tex Am. M quarterback goes down and
Will Compton says, we're out of the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
This is when we want to do it right.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
No one cares, No one cares about you. No one's
going to hire you, no one's going to put you
in the playoff, and Drink's just sitting there like this,
and he knows what he's got on the bench. He's got.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Five interceptions, like, you gotta be on it, you gotta
be on it. He had five interceptions against.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Yeah, yeah, so Mazoler's East hat high five interceptions. Whatever, Well,
he's not playing East Eastern Eastern. He's not playing the
easton Saturday, Texas A and M's pretty good too, pretty
good team too. You know, in all seriousness, I love
backup quarterbacks in their first start. Now I don't ride
them the whole year, but in their first start off
the bench, I love them because of the Galvinization effect.
(27:38):
We talked about it, Yeah, we talked about it many
times on this show. But also you mentioned okay, so
the box score says Missouri should have beaten Vanderbilt. Well
they didn't. That's why there's a loss on their resume.
But in terms of predictive nature looking forward that plus
they played Bama really close, they've either won their games
or they've lost close. Well, the spread here is what
(28:00):
are we doing seven and a half, So that means
they need to win. They need to lose like by
eight or more. So we've got a possible Missouri upset
in the cards. We have also got a possible close
Missouri loss in the cards, which is all they've suffered
so far this year. I just think taking Missouri plus
the points is the smart play here. And I think
(28:20):
that you're right about people writing off Missouri. You're right
about people overlooking drink. You're right about battered aggie syndrome.
Battered Aggie syndrome does not bite you when you're most
concerned about it. It bites you the week after you
sort of put it in the closet. We're not worried
about battered AGGI center.
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Sharing this BJJ Dad, I was talking to you last night.
He's put in the closet. Yeah, it's ready to bite.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
He didn't, Turkey. Yeah. So I'll take Missouri, Okay, close game.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Separation Saturday, separation Saturday. All right, we have a organ
going out to Iowa, Iowa City. The weather on that game,
Josh Pate.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
We're gonna go forty six moderate rain and fifteen mile
an hour wins. At kickoff, Dan Landing, still wearing cotton.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Oregon favorite was six and a half points favored at
six and a half points, the over runder on this
game forty and a half. I kind of like the
over on this what I just saw.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
That it's dropped five points.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Don't do that to yourself in Iowa recently as a
dropped one points a game.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
They scored recently thirty eight, thirty seven, twenty five, and
forty one in their four Big Ten wins. But don't
let that fool you into thinking their offense is turned
a corner. Because they have one thousand and sixty one
total receiving yards. There is a kid who plays for
San Jose State that has more receiving yards than that
by himself. They have not thrown for two hundred yards
in a single game. No wide receiver's gone over seventy
(29:43):
five yards in a game for them this year. Do
not beled, Do not be fooled at all. Balanced one
hundred and thirty second passing offense in America, lowest in
power for It's abysmal. But they can play defense.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
But that's Iowa.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
Yeah, that's Iowa can play.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Ganowski balanced four touchdowns, foreign receptions. That's he is balanced
a balance as it gets, is it not?
Speaker 2 (30:04):
He is balanced in that way.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Ducks they like their high power, flying offense. I know
there's not the Chip Kelly offense we used to look at,
but they like to rip the ball around a little bit.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
They have a good run game.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
I think it's like six points.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Number one in explosive runs, number one explosive runs in
the country. Iowa has given up.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
He's got hurt.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
I was given up one explosive run all season. Something's
got to give.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
What's an unsoppable force, immovable object with bad weather going
right into Iowa? This is this is what Iowa wants.
They want bad weather. Fifteen mile an hour wins, which
sounds like a lot, but really not that much. What's
going to happen here?
Speaker 1 (30:42):
Will? I want to listen to you guys. What there
ain't no fodder on parents talking about coach Lane. I
am a there's no fodder out there. Coach Faris is
this high character of a head coach as you get.
If anything else, I might shoot him at text, say
with thought some daily Laney's like I wish, well he's
a great fu.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Yeah, he's been in the game long enough to know
you don't mess uh, you don't mess around with egos
when it comes to pregame press conferences. I don't know
where you're going. I really don't know where I'm going
in this game because my heart wants to sit there
and say Oregon, because Dan Lanning, because you watch the
Indiana game. Ever since the Indiana game, everyone's kind of like,
you know, similar to what College Football Playoff Committee's done,
(31:20):
They've kind of like forgot about Oregon, like they're no
longer they take away the Penn State win, even though
you know they're the one that killed Penn State. Everyone
just is reaping the benefits of what Oregon did to
Penn State. So I look at this Iowa team, and
every year it's the same thing, Like they have no offense,
but they kind of do in their four bax ten wins,
and they play great defense. They run the ball really well.
You could take Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Burrow, you
(31:43):
can put him in an Iowa uniform. They're gonna have
four touchdowns and four interceptions. That's just what happens in
Iowa City. So what happens when both teams are stuck
in the run game, who does better is Iowa who's
usually kind of just like putts them through, taking time
a possession, keeping the other offense off of the field
and slowly just losing by five. But they did it's
(32:05):
Indiana or is Oregon coming off of bye a week
bad taste in their mouth? Do they just come and
blow the doors off of Iowa. I think it's like
one of the two options.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
Which option you're going with?
Speaker 3 (32:15):
I don't know. That's why I literally started the whole
conversation with so we have to do a good job
of listening. Is I don't know where I'm going to start.
I don't know where I'm at. I'm lost.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
The college football world is doubting you, Dan Lanning. People
are starting to say your Penn State win doesn't mean shit.
They're saying you're just a West Coast team that loves
the hug trees, sing Kumbayai everything else. You take your
Oregon Ducks and you fly to Iowa City and you
introduce the hawk gys to the duck's reproductive system. Let
(32:44):
me educate you on the duck reproductive system. The male
duck holds the hawk eye down, the rest of the
boys surround him, and what do you do? You gang
bang them. This is Oregon minus six and a half.
That's Orgon minus six and a half. That's real because
we're getting it's close. We're also getting close boys to
play off football and that feeling that where Dan Lanney
(33:07):
wakes up in a cold sweat at night remembering what
the Buck guys did because the boys weren't prepared when
it mattered the most. You're getting close to this and
you can't afford to lose anymore. This has got to
be pedaled to the metal while out the Iowa city
and beat some mass This this feeling is there. They're
coming off of bye week, they're getting to sit back
and watch off of it, and you know, Lanning's going
to have those boys motivated. Landing's gonna have those boys
(33:28):
ready to go. So I'm going you know, I'm right
with it. I almost wore my Oregon duct hoodie into
this thing. But people like, hey, you guys got to
kind of be unbiased. There's not a.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Whisper in the back of your head there that goes Iowa.
There's a whisper, the property theory, whatever, the thing that
he talks about. Indiana beats the Brakes off of Oregon.
They only beat Iowa by five when they were like,
what fifteen and a half point favorites.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Hey, fourteen point game against Wisconsin, I would beat him
thirty seven to nothing.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Transitive property, transit of property, Hello transit.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
And bringing the volume to t I had the bang
coming out, and now we want to whisper.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
We want to whisper. Where are you going, Josh, Well,
I'm going to love it, but I'll be watching the game.
So where I grew up about forty five minutes away,
there's a dirt track called East Alabama Motor Speedway. Oh
his story time, It's really fun. It's out in the
middle of nowhere. Dad used to go coon hunting there
before I was born. Great place, you can say that,
but keep going. Great people after what he just said
(34:27):
about the duck reproductive system.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Can see what you want. Hey, I'll encourage you to
do this. When this show's done, go look up on
YouTube duck reproductive system.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
Oh look, I don't doubt it happens in the wild.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
The woman duck has a bunch of canals. It's like
a maze, so these ducks got to put.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Her down in Wait a second. Sometimes I'm really good
at faking, like I knew something to keep a conversation moving.
I don't know anything about.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
This, so there's a they have corkscrew penises, peen ducks,
pini peni ducks have corkscrewed peni And the way that
they mate is they basically they gang bang a female
and they're trying to f you know, they're all competing
to try and get it inside.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
And so that's that's that's how still going to one
area that might not be the way. So the next
guy comes in and finds a different one, and there's
like multiple different tunnels in order to get to the ducks.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
So it's no different than a corn maze. No different
than a corn maze, absolutely no different. And you're saying
that's the way you win a football game Saturday.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
Yeah, yeah, one where it takes everybody.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Yeah, you know, just give it some pass.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
I gotta get I gotta get this stuff out now.
You know, we're not gonna be able to talk about
one with Greenie on Thursday, right, right, Maybe I'll find
a way.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
I don't know, man, October.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
Yeah, I don't understand why that was such a big
deal to him.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
He seemed to like it.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
And I saw you you were kind of pussy footing
around cocktailer.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
Yeah. I didn't say I just don't know the rules
and say and you find out what.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
Paid did it? Right? He didn't. He just did one
of these. Yeah, I thought that went.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
It's the best way he could possibly go.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
It went great.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
There, I want to jump on. I'm going to say
what I want where I'm gonna go using this Oh yes, true.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
So anyway, speaking of the dirt track East Alabama Motor
Speedway in East Alabama, it's out in the middle of nowhere.
You can hear the cars from miles away on Friday
night when they're running out there. But the thing is,
you got to show up with a dirt track car.
And dirt track cars look way different than the cars
they use in NASCAR. They look way different than street
racing cars. And if you ever took a street racing
(36:27):
car out the East Alabama Motor Speedway, that embarrass you.
So the question is, and the question for Daniel Lanning
and the question for everyone there in Oregon is are
you a street racing car or are you a dirt
track car? Because we already see the conditions. We know
I'm not calling on you yet, we see the conditions.
(36:50):
This is not a street race Saturday. This is a
dirt track game.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Okay, that was gonna be my question. What kind of
track we're on?
Speaker 2 (36:56):
This is forty four degrees, this is Iowa City, this
is this is wind, this isn't summer seven on seven.
We're not wearing shorts, we're not wearing shells, so we're
gonna have to get dirty. And I wrote on this
piece of paper, here are you gonna Oregon has to
make Iowa's game their game. You can run the ball too,
(37:18):
You're number one in the country in explosive runs. There's
this misconception. Folks do it with Tennessee, they do it
with Oregon. They think it's just pinball on grass. They
think it's just high octane throw the ball all over
the place. That's not the team they've tried to build.
They can throw the ball very effectively. But if it
just comes time to do that, which you got to
do to beat Iowa, Oregon should be able to do that.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Now.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
I'm gonna take Oregon to win, and I'm gonna take
them to cover because I believe there is a different
gear to this team that they have not hit yet.
I think Dan Lanning probably the biggest lesson he learned
from that Ohio State game last year is that team
that just smoked us in the playoff built everything about
their process to peak at the right time, to peak late.
Oregon went wired to wire last year, like they were
(38:01):
good from the jump, but then they faded when it
mattered most. So there's been a little vulnerability about them
so far this year. I think part of that's cause
it's time to do this in November, and they've built
towards doing this in November. If I'm right about that,
the first sign of that will be Saturday. It'll be ugly,
it'll be hideous, and they'll go in there and they'll
win twenty six to ten, and they'll come out of
(38:21):
it and they will have won. They will have covered,
and they will have set themselves up for a stretch run,
not worried about whether they're going to get in if
they lose two games, just don't lose another game. So
I'll take Orgon to win and cover.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
You have me thinking you were going the other direction.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
Hey does that, And that's why I want to kind
of stop the story so I could say where I
was gonna go.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
But I think I'll take.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
Organ This is a dirt track game. It's a dirt
track game.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
I'll take organ but I'm a little nervous about it.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
Separation Saturday, Separate, I.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
Know, and I was thinking that too, But then I
don't want Ego getting the way big. I'm already opposite
both times. I am fifty to fifty on this game.
And this seems like you're going with the emotional side. Yeah,
that's really observative you. Yeah, thanks, Yeah, I'm going to Oregon.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
But your logical sides telling the Iowa.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
Yeah, because it seems like this is a game, that
this is a perfect game for Iowa to kind of
like stick around and run the ball and do what
Iowa does, which is just I've already said all the
things make you like, make you want to mention, well,
whether he's already done that their defense is really good,
and make it a rock fight models fight.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Model thinks that Oregon's being given too much respect here.
By the way, if you just look at the comparative,
I mean, I know, I joke about transitive property. They've
got three common opponents already. They both played Penn State.
Iowa lost by one. I think Oregon went to overtime.
So there's that, I know, the backup quarterback thing. But
there's that they've both played Wisconsin. It was a pouring
(39:48):
rain game for Oregon, but they had him at home.
It was a two possession game. Iowa went on the
road and beat him thirty seven zip. And then you've
got Indiana. Indiana owned Oregon in auntsin and Iowa played
him to with five in kinnet. So you've got three
examples there where these teams against three common opponents have
played pretty similarly. Yet Organs lay in almost a touchdown
(40:11):
in Iowas building. That's a reputation line, that's a play
to the public line, because the truth of that, if
you just took two generic like potato sack uniforms, and
you took those resumes and you put them in this building,
probably like organ minus two, Organ minus three. So a
lot of respect being given.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
We're also brought to you by Form Energy. Form Energy
delivers at best, best in class taste with natural flavors
and zero sugar. Form Energy has natural caffeine derived from
green tea. Form comes in a variety of flavors. Available
flavors are Screaming, Freedom, grape Smash, blue Blitz, orange Fury.
Perfect for those who put in the work Form Energy,
we do the work let's.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
Go down to Alabama. LSU at Alabama. The spread on
this game is nine and a half points. Alabama being favored.
The over under on this game forty eight and a
half points.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Gentlemen, could I go first here or sometimes we pop
the paper right? I think LSU's got to wad the
paper up, because here's what the paper says. The paper says,
your strengths match up with their strengths. You can't expose
their weaknesses. Bama's got the run defense not so great,
(41:22):
seventy third, but LSU can't run the ball. They've been
in the one hundred twenties all year, so how are
you going to take advantage of it. Bama's passed defense
is twelveth so ls you can throw the ball, okay,
but that's Alabama's strength. They kind of mirror each other,
except that when Bama can't run the ball, they still
throw it okay, So they still get their points, they
still get their yards, they get their production. When LSU
(41:43):
hasn't been able to run it, they have failed to
do much of anything. But then we have the backup
quarterback theory, but we also have the fired head coach theory.
Added bonus for LSU. You're coming out of a bye
and you fired a head coach that apparently no one
down there liked anyway, So there's that Galvinization effect of
you want to play for Frank Wilson because Frank Wilson,
(42:04):
you know, actually has the audacity to love LSU and
to bleed purple and gold, and Brian Kelly just bled
normal blood. Gross pathetic, no place in this country for that.
So there's that. I also think, much like Oregon, the
theory of Alabama being a national championship contender has to
rest on the premise that they haven't played their best
(42:26):
ball yet, because Alabama's been a really good team. I
don't think the games they've played so far, if you
get Ohio State's best, are going to beat Ohio State
or maybe even Indiana's best. I don't think that may
not beat Indiana. But if we see Alabama start to scale,
if we see them start to work towards peaking, okay,
well then that's game on. They have to be better
running the ball, and they have to be better at
(42:48):
completing explosive passes because for as good as ty Simpson's
been and as good as the skill they have at
wideout is They've still been kind of poor on completing
deep balls, like balls over twenty yards in the air.
Haven't been that great there, So I'm looking for those
two things Saturday. Kaylin Debor is fifteen and two off
of buye. He's as lethal as any coach in the countries,
(43:09):
like Andy Reid circa Eagles off a Bye. It was
like an auto Pey, auto bet, auto play. So I'm
gonna take Alabama with an improving pass rush to expose
or continue to expose LSU's vulnerability on the offensive line.
Obama under Debor, they've struggled in this two possession favorite spot,
but those have been mainly road games. At home, they've
(43:29):
taken care of business. So I will take them to win.
Tough game, but I think they'll pull away in the end.
I'll take them to win by double digits, so I
think they cover.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
I'm kind of going Nutmeyer on this one.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
Yeah, I'm as you on this. This is the interim
head coach, the bleeding Purple and Gold, the whole thing.
Like everybody in Louisia, the state of Louisiana. They already
started being having question marks about Brian Kelly and then
as it just went on and on. They're like, we
hate this guy. There is a weight lifted off the
entire state. They all feel incredible, and there's always the
(44:00):
energy of the interim head coach his first game coming in.
I just see that playing a bit. I think Alabama
wins this game, but I think it's closer than Alabama
wants it to be.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
I agree, I agree, I'm going I'm going LSU to
cover just basically all the things that you said. It's
just galvanizing, like Brian Kelly's out of it. Kind of
the weight that's lifted off of everybody, the excitement and
probably the fun that's being had now to play for
Frank Wilson and you're going down to Alabama. Nobody's picking
you in this game. It's you're doubted everywhere. You've already lost,
(44:31):
and I just feel like that'll be a spark enough
to cover in this game. I do think Alabama wins.
In my opinion. Alabama is a very good football team.
Your national champion is very much alive and well. Ty
Simpson love him. Do you know on that stat fifteen
and two, if it's against a spread or not, or
is this just after bi week straight up all right.
That makes me feel a little bit better. But I'm
gonna ride LSU here just solely off the fact Brian
(44:52):
Kelly gets fired. Frank Wilson is staying in the presser saying,
I like this, I like us in this spot. So
LSU LSU plus nine and a half. Should we get
to our True Classic Game of the week.
Speaker 3 (45:03):
We should.
Speaker 1 (45:04):
True Classic Game of the Week is brought to us
by True Classic the new Curve PEMA shirts. They fit well,
They fit your chess well. You want We're now getting
into holiday season, so you want to cover your tummy
a little bit more. They do just that. You can
find True Classic at Amazon, at Costco, Sam's Club and
Target nationwide, or online at true Classic dot com slash Busting,
Look Good, Feel Good, Play good, This True Classic game.
(45:29):
Every Saturday's got games, but only one fits just right.
And the True Classic Game of the Week is byu
at Texas Tech. Texas Tech favorite ten and a half
of this game. The over under on this game is
fifty two and a half. The Fall Don't Lie Tour
will be their college game. They will be there for
the first time since Michael Crabtree against the Texas long
Wards everybody has that memory. This is a massive game,
(45:51):
massive implications on the line, biggest game of the week.
Spreads a little wide, spreads a little wide. If I
were to tell you byus going into Lubbock, Texas and
upsetting ten the Texas Tech Raiders, what would your reaction be?
Speaker 2 (46:03):
I would say they were able to scale their run
game against the number one statistical run defense in the
country in Texas Tech. Best run D BYU has faced
so far as fifty fifth. Sometimes if you just got
a legit rushing attack, you can run it on anyone.
But if you've got one that's just faced inferior competition,
you get Crowbard when you face a top ten run D,
(46:24):
which Texas Tech has. So the first thing I would
say is they were able to run the ball against them.
The second thing I would say is turnovers were an issue.
Again BYU is number three in the country and turnover margin,
so you keep picking them to lose games, but then
they win and they're plus two plus three turnovers. There
were plus two I think against Utah, there plus four
against Iowa State. So you keep waiting on that to
(46:46):
invert itself. You keep waiting for that to come crashing
back to Earth. But sometimes it just doesn't. And Texas
Tech all hyped up most attention that will have been
on that program in well over a decade. Like you said,
so sometimes you embrace that you play your best game.
Sometimes you play a little tight, sometimes you play a
little careless. And you know good and well what the
talk is in Provo. They know just like just like
(47:08):
drink a couple of weeks ago, all the attentions on
Vanderbilt game days in town. Everybody's talking about them. We're
just kind of there to play. You know what has
kind of come into play well at bringing Young. No
one is it BYU causing the money. No one just
accidentally ends up playing it. Brigham Young, you got to
go there with purpose. Bunch of people are playing at
(47:28):
Texas Tech causing Texas Tech paid more. This is what
you're saying all week in Provo. It's no different than
any of a number of big underdog spots in the
sport where I mean, I guarantee you, like with Michigan
for the last several years, everyone's tout in Ohio State's
wide receivers tout and skill and tout in this and
you're like, we got the same engine. Here, we got
(47:49):
the same formula, same blueprint. We're a bowling ball, they're
the pins. That's the way it'll work. And so that's
got to be the message in provo. Now here's the
follow up to that. Because I'm not picking Brigham Young.
I'm picking Texas Tech to win cover and play their
best game of the year doing so. I think it's
a misnomer that those are just a bunch of mercenaries
that just went to the highest bidder. Like Texas Tech
(48:11):
does not apologize for having purchased this roster. They're really
out front about it. They embraced it. That was the
only way they were going to compete. But they got
guys in the building. I was there in spring. They
were talking about this in spring. Joey maguire said, you'd
really be shocked at how we acquired these guys, but
how good our building is, because you would think it
was just a bunch of me over team type guys,
and it really hasn't been that, and we got really
(48:33):
blessed and fortunate in that way. Well, this is the
culture test, because you're facing the best culture team in
the Big twelve in Brigham Young. So they're going to
come in there, and what I think is, no one
has made Brigham Young play from behind all year. No
one's made that eighty eight ranked passing offense in the country.
Have to keep them in a game, and I think
(48:53):
Texas Tech can do that. And so there are a
couple of paths for bringing Young to win this game.
But they are about five or six paths where Tech
Tech wins it, and they win it like they did
against Utah, where they get some margin in the end,
and you're like, WHOA. I think that's going to be
one of these games. And this is a very very
hostile place to play when it's cranked up, and it'll
be cranked up Saturday, even with the eleven am kick
(49:15):
looking forward to being there. Texas Tech's gonna put on
a show Saturday.
Speaker 1 (49:18):
Yeah, they speaking to like the emotion this To me,
it's like we saw it over the weekend the blackout
game in Lincoln, Nebraska. This emotion and energy is going
to be the same in Texas Tech. Like having game
day there, the excitement around that place. And again, I
don't think BYU hasn't faced a football team that can
push it down the field the way Texas Tech can
and you're right. I think they're going to play out
(49:39):
in front of them. And then even when you speak
to the rushing statistics in their front seven, the D
line's really good. Remind everybody about this D line to
where what was it the starters that they had last
year and now depth guys, they're reaping the benefits for
how much they've loaded their defensive line through the portal
through the offseason.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Yeah, they went and got a bunch of guys that
made their starters from last year who didn't leave just
become backups that kind of recruited over them. And so
you've got guys that are providing depth for you now
that were your legitimate frontline starters last year, and you
don't really Georgia doesn't have that kind of depth. Alabama
doesn't have that kind of depth. Texas Tech because they
went and acquired a bunch of guys that are starting
(50:19):
caliber and they hit on them and they've been pretty
lucky health wise so far. They just got really good
rotational depth there. But you talked about their offense and
I didn't even mention this Texas. He's got the number
one explosive play offense in the country. Their top twenty
five run their top twenty five pass. They just put
so much pressure on so many facets of you that
maybe haven't been tested so far this year that if
(50:40):
you got even a little crack in the dam somewhere,
they can turn it into a flood really quick.
Speaker 4 (50:45):
Yeah, you got a BYU, keepit a close. No, you're
upsetting Texas. No, No, I had Texas tech BYU. You
talked about the secondary. They do a great job of
like getting yours the very opportunity to take the secondary.
But our favorite or at least my favorite quarterback in
the entire big twelve back teethos for three hundreds against
them with how dynamic the text ticket offense can be.
I see them putting pressure all day by who's gonna
(51:06):
want to run early? They're gonna find out very quickly they.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
Can't run it, and then they have to lean on
that pass, that passing offense, which as you said, eighty
eighth double town country. And when you get them in
a position of playing from behind, which they haven't before,
I see Texas tackle running away with this very similar
to Utah game.
Speaker 4 (51:21):
Here we are doubt and b yu once again. Yeah,
this is listen three times on this show. Two times
in a row.
Speaker 3 (51:28):
I've said no to BYU and they've shoved it in
my face.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
Wait, wait, their opponents screwed up by Start.
Speaker 3 (51:35):
You're absolutely right, You're absolutely right, and I just I
could either, you know, if you can't beat them, join them,
or I could just keep on doublin.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
Deck, just continue to doubt this. Basically, they've been just
a Disney movie all.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
Right, and it's been fun to watch.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
It's awesome.
Speaker 3 (51:49):
We got super soakers. We're making all the fun jokes,
making Prime evil like. We've got them all out. Let's
move on.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
Onward dogs all year long. It's speaking of dogs, Let's
get to our dogs.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
Wait, do we see this game again?
Speaker 2 (52:00):
To a chamionship? Yes, we do.
Speaker 1 (52:01):
You do anything changes you think?
Speaker 2 (52:03):
Venue?
Speaker 3 (52:04):
Yeah? I agree?
Speaker 1 (52:05):
Dogs of the Week, same team, same mass, whooping yep.
Utah gets in there. That's how I see it.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
Be bad.
Speaker 3 (52:13):
It's good to be bad.
Speaker 1 (52:16):
Yeah, b y U zero and two lost their second
one of the Big Top Championship. They get knocked out.
Utah's in uh Dogs a week. It's no secret we're
one and a half point dogs at U C L
A T J latif. I'm taking Nebraska. That's Nebraska money
line all day long. You gotta, you gotta.
Speaker 3 (52:34):
I think the thing that throws off the world, the
butterfly factor, is when you go this is the Nebraska
money line all day long, because I don't know what
the actual stats on it are. But I feel like
even going back to bet the bus, anytime you're like,
this is Nebraska money line, it happens to just go
to it.
Speaker 1 (52:48):
So let's just cover. Okay, Nebraska plus one and a half. Yep,
And now it's like, now half as my dog of
the week. I don't know where I'm going twenty seven problem.
I will be ben that I'm gonna go off.
Speaker 2 (52:58):
Say twenty eight, twenty seven, no problem, no problem.
Speaker 3 (53:03):
Auburn plus six and a half versus Vanderbilt. Auburn, I
think Auburn's defense the Texas showed how to get off
of that offense. I don't think have the same horses
and anything like that. But watching the film on the
being able to see the film not just on a YouTube,
but able to watch the entire film, seeing some of
the misses they had, I could see Auburn keeping this
game close. I think Vanderbilt still wins this game.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
But I got Auburn's gonna that's the laugh of a
guy that watched Auburn Kentucky last week.
Speaker 1 (53:35):
That's not only that, but Taylor is like a position
coach for Vanderbilt. He's helping the boys get better, and
he's watching the film thing and yeah, I'm going on
this week like he's coaching these a couple of these
boys up on Vander's line and the yeah, he's sitting
(53:59):
there it back like it's Auburn. You guys are figuring
this out if it is.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
A close game. This ends up being a close game,
and Turim head coach vives, I think Manny still wins
this game. And then they still win this game, I think.
Speaker 1 (54:15):
But yeah, Taylor's intentions were were pure, But I'm sitting
there like he just took the knife.
Speaker 2 (54:22):
He said, Hey, I know a bunch of you watched
these games on TV.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
I didn't mean I was watching that film where I
can see what Texas definitely found out about you guys here.
Speaker 2 (54:31):
You guys haven't seen what I've seen.
Speaker 1 (54:32):
Yeah, like Taylor's got access. People were gonna trust what
I'm kind of saying here, but not knowing he's just
fucking putting a knife in both the boys. He's sitting
there breaking the film. No, I love.
Speaker 3 (54:40):
I think they played very well both. I think they
played very well. Actually, whi's that tackle.
Speaker 2 (54:46):
I'm gonna take Kansas plus four and a half against Arizona. Now,
I'd love to say Kansas money line too, and I
will be betting them on the money line. But if
you're gonna give me four and a half and Fanduell
has agreed to give me four and a half with Kansas,
I'm gonna take Kansas, just like I took Mississippi State
plus four and a half last week. What did they do?
They pulled an upset in Northwest Arkansas?
Speaker 1 (55:06):
Yeah, they did. You're always in the gutter with these games.
We'll be watching Thursday night dreams and he's sending me screenshots.
Speaker 2 (55:12):
And Coastal Carolina, Carolina Coast. I said, how about? I said,
how about this game? You're watching the Ravens no bro
Coastal Coastal about to get the whim had so.
Speaker 1 (55:21):
Ro a Noodle Express was off to a hot star
going into Saturday.
Speaker 2 (55:24):
Yeah, what was it?
Speaker 1 (55:25):
Two and O going in a Saturday?
Speaker 2 (55:26):
Started out seven and oh, finished seven and four, but
started out seven and.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
Oh you a hell of a feeling when you're a
seven o though.
Speaker 2 (55:33):
Yeah, just cut it off. And then then you get
to get to the locker room every week. Every week
I come in here, I have won money every week.
I look at Taylor, who can see the board behind me.
I go, hey, what was my record? And he looks
up and he goes two and three?
Speaker 3 (55:46):
Every week, every deal the most consistent. Yes, you're like
Dalla Corda every week four weeks in a row.
Speaker 1 (55:53):
But the raw Ma Noodle Express, hottest thing out there,
hottest T shirt on the market.
Speaker 2 (55:58):
What's the website you can go get the new Express
hatstatematerial dot com. Christmas sweaters dropped yesterday. Oh my god,
they're good.
Speaker 3 (56:06):
I can't wait.
Speaker 2 (56:07):
I gotta say they're good.
Speaker 1 (56:08):
We have to get one.
Speaker 2 (56:08):
I'm not even a Christmas sweater guy, but this year
I will.
Speaker 3 (56:11):
Be Christmas sweaters. I feel like there's a place for it. Yeah,
there's a place in your closet for a Christmas Oh yeah,
gotta have it.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
All right.
Speaker 1 (56:17):
We interrupt this episode to bring you the boost Him
with the Boys profit boost token available every college football Saturday.
That's a profit boost on any college football Saturday. Bet
just open up the Fandels sportsbook app this Saturday and
look out for the boosting with the Boys profit boost token.
Speaker 3 (56:32):
Back to this episode, gotta have it a weekly parlay.
Washington minus eleven and a half for Wisconsin, Washington.
Speaker 1 (56:40):
I'm going USC minus fourteen and a half at home
versus Northwestern.
Speaker 3 (56:44):
Can't beat him and join them.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
Clemson has no business laying points against anyone. Clemson has
lost six consecutive home games at home at home against
powerful competition. Florida State's gonna make that seven in a row.
I'll take Florida State plus two and a half.
Speaker 1 (56:58):
Six.
Speaker 2 (56:59):
Yeah, they've lost their last six home games against P
four teams.
Speaker 1 (57:03):
Damn, that's tough.
Speaker 2 (57:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (57:06):
I know there's been just a fire down the Clemson
right now, but even here in that like, yeah, it's
crazy debo sweety hot seat.
Speaker 2 (57:13):
No, no, not hot seat, but just I don't know,
it's a weird feeling, any feeling saying that thing in
front of the ad is nuts. Well, that's what you
say when you feel like you're untouchable, and he feels
like he's untouchable.
Speaker 3 (57:25):
I don't think he's I don't think he thinks that
I think he was. What was said, he's in the
press conference after the game, is that you want to
fire me? Fire me?
Speaker 2 (57:32):
And the a d standard right there he said, there
he is, if you want to fire me, maybe maybe
you'll fire men.
Speaker 1 (57:37):
That's a that's he did too. And what happened He
got fire Yeah, dude, it might have been a year later,
but yeah, but was both laughing when he said it. No, yeah,
it's more like.
Speaker 2 (57:52):
Laughing when he said it.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
I think Dabo is in a world he hasn't been
in before. He doesn't know the path he wants to
go down. So like every we he's like kind of
changing tune and trying to figure out, Okay, where where
do I want to kind of stand in this like adversity.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
Oh, he figured it out. He figured it out this way,
he figured it out. So they lost to Duke. He
did the postgame press conference, he marinates on it. Sunday
and Monday of this week, he took the podium and
he pulled out the most failed safe get out of
jail free card you can out of your back pocket
and he said, guys, the officiating in college football sucks
(58:26):
right now. It's terrible. It's horrible. It's awful. You think
I'm bad, look at how bad the officiating is, and
everyone is like, yeah, I love what Devio said the
word who did we played last week?
Speaker 3 (58:41):
Don't care.
Speaker 2 (58:42):
He's a genius. He's a genius. Gonna be there forever? Yeh,
at least to the end of the season.
Speaker 1 (58:47):
Yeah. Do you have any feeling on any of these
job openings right now?
Speaker 2 (58:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (58:57):
Carada, off the record, do you give us some fun?
Speaker 2 (59:02):
I love John Sumrall. Think you would fit at Auburn.
The ad down there keeps talking about going the offensive
route if he did. Kenny Dillingham works there, Eli Drinkowitz
works there. I think Lane, maybe, you know, day by day,
switches his feeling. One day it's ole Miss, one day
it's LSU. I don't think Florida is out of that
(59:22):
at all. I think Florida is gonna wait to be
told no by Lane before they move on. At Penn State,
you know, I'm a Matt Campbell guy. For some inexplicable reason,
his name hasn't gotten traction up there. Clark Lee's name
may get traction up there. But I think they're casting
a really wide net, really wide net. So that's gonna
be one of those searches where it could be one
(59:43):
of the names that's out there, or it could be
a name that comes like from the parking lot and
you never even mentioned him, and you're like, how did
we not hear this name? How do we not think
about this skipper? Exactly?
Speaker 3 (59:54):
Yeah? Yeah, Coast to Coast.
Speaker 2 (59:56):
Moore Frank mcdonn, it's sweet.
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
Do you think James Franklin is a head coach?
Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
Yes, yes, I'm surprised he's not already a head coach. Honestly.
I think the Virginia Tech jobs just sitting there for him.
I think there's been a lot of traction between him
and Arkansas. I'd love to see him at Arkansas. I
think Alex Golish if it's not James, could wind up
at Arkansas. You're a winner either way if you're Arkansas.
If you get either of those guys, like those are
upgrades over what you had. I'd love to see either
(01:00:25):
one of them.
Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
There any vibe with Lsu.
Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
Look, I'm going after Freeman and now I'm gonna make
him tell me no. And I think ver Jaspberry, who's
now the permanent ad down there, he knows Marcus pretty well.
I think He'll make Marcus tell him no. I don't
know that, like they haven't told me that. That's just instinct.
Like Freeman's a stud I'd make him tell me no.
He told him no, but that was for the defensive
coordinator position. This would be head coach. So make him
(01:00:49):
tell you no, and then it's probably laying. But honestly,
the LSU job if you've got alignment and the governor
hadn't said anything in a good five days now, so
that's great. You've got a president in place, you've got
your A D in place. Now down there, you're starting
to get the tumblers. You're starting to get the alignment.
If you've got the alignment and you've got the investment,
that's one of, if not the very best jobs in
the country. And unaligned LSU is a job that many,
(01:01:13):
many names who you don't think are available, would make
themselves available for. So that's gonna be the most exciting secure.
Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
Some will come from the NFL. I've saw a couple
of names. We've obviously talked about Joe Brady, but I
saw another one, Kelvin Shephard. Yes, decordinator from the Lions,
got a lot of success there.
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Hey, let me also just put this on your radar,
put it on. I'm just gonna Can we end on this?
Can we?
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Well, we do have a final bite for McDonald's. But yeah,
and also should we wait? Hey, this could be this
could be the take that week. Can you put the
pin back in?
Speaker 3 (01:01:42):
What have you just pulled? That's terrifying? There you go
real quick, Kenny Dillinghambill, that's the second time his name
is Britain brought up by you. I've heard it multiple
times over the internet. Like, my understanding is that Kenny
would never leave a.
Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
Su Well, you got the wrong understanding.
Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
Face right, Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
I know you surf the boards, so you're probably more
well versed on this than I.
Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
No, but hey, when it comes to college football, there's
no one that's more well versed.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Do you believe every man has his price?
Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
Is Kenny Dillingham a man?
Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
Okay, hey we do you can pull this pen here
in a second. We have a final segment, sponsored by
the one and only McDonald's sponsor segment that delivers their
sharpest takeaway heading into the weekend. Whether it's a bold prediction,
hot take, or storyline flying under the radar. The final
bite gives fans the one thing to keep in mind
before finishing their week and tuning or tuning into Kickoff.
Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
All right, this episode of the Locker Room is brought

participatet in McDonald's wall supplies last.
Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
I'm getting my order on right now, shout out McDonald's
at nice. I mean mine's DJ latif over three hundred
all purpose yards out of UCLA.
Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
Oh you're serious? My value?
Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
My bad?
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
My bad? Are we going to crawl back in the foxhole?
What Bowl game are we aiming for? Hey?
Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
You heard it? Playoffs are still real? Are still real?
Right now?
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
Point zero one percent chance.
Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Yeah, I just wanted to see it like we planted
the seed a point zero one percent an hour ago,
how much did it grow?
Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
Like it's I will send you the screenshot when he
has over three hundred all purpose yards out there at UCLA.
Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
When it comes to comptent that every seed with Nebraska
grows like a weed. As long as it's a positive weed,
it's a weed. My take, this is truly separations at it.
We're finally going to see separation between the three of
us on this show. That it's gonna beautiful for me.
Speaker 2 (01:04:02):
I think Dan. I think Dan's gonna wear the cotton
again and get soaked and look miserable in a win
at Iowa State. All right, you're ready pull the pin?
All right, here we go. Let's just keep an eye
on Lincoln Riley at.
Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
USC See you next week.
