Now the Monday Morning Quarterback with Mike holm Grin and
Hugh Millin. Here's Chuck and Buck.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
All right, nine o'clock hour here on this Tuesday, we
spent three hours, you know, talking about the Mariners season
coming to a close. We reserve our our last hour
to talk about Monday night football. Seahawks went over the
Houston Texans twenty seven to nineteen. So we'll spend our
final hour this Tuesday with our favorite football analysts, Hugh
millon r QB one and also coach Mike Holmgren as well.
(01:15):
Good morning, gentlemen, Good morning, Good morning, Chuck, Good morning.
I didn't you know, with the baseball game on, I
didn't spend a lot of time watching this football game.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
So you bet my eyes on this one. Coach.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
One hundred and ninety eight penalty yards, four turnovers by
the Seahawks, and still they managed to win by eight
points despite going two for fourteen on third down. Did
I pick a good game to miss if I was
going to miss any I.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Think he did. I think he really did. I Every
once a while, I'd switch on the Mariner game too.
I kind of going back and forth. And you know Kathy,
you know, for years she couldn't stay in the stadium
and watch us play because she took the game so
seriously and her hurt when we lost, so and she
couldn't watch the Mariners. So I watched more of the
(02:05):
football game, probably than you did. But I was going
back and forth. Yeah, the Texans weren't very impressive to me.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Here.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
What stood out to you about that result last night?
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Well, I think going into the game, just knowing how
Houston was defensively number one in the NFL fewest points
allowed less than a touchdown or accuve me more than
a touchdown less than the Seahawks at just twelve points
per game allowed. They were top five and everything. So
you kind of figured that it was going to be
(02:39):
a little bit clunky and inconsistent for the Seahawks offense.
But I think that if you look at what Seattle
did defensively, if your opponent, they're running backs, have fifteen
carries for thirty one yards, and you hold the opponent
quarterback under a sixty passer rating, that that's going to
(03:04):
be a formula to win a game, even when you
play ugly offensively.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
All right, Well, so our defense played well and even
though the stats don't necessarily jump off the page, Hugh
and coach, you can answer this too. I mean that
it looked Are you saying that our offense looked good
or just looked good against a good defense?
Speaker 4 (03:25):
You?
Speaker 5 (03:27):
Uh, our offense, Our offense, I think just looked inconsistent
against a very good defense. I think that they had
some of their best plays in the first quarter. Uh,
you know that play action, fake the stretch and get
and get Elijah Royal to stutter and then run up
the sideline. They hit that you had to play with
(03:48):
with Cooper Cup he aligns in the left slot on
a play action. He kind of runs a shallow cross
from left to right, acting like he wants to block,
and then he emerges all the way to the other
side and then runs a go route up the right
sideline even though he had started on the left. I
think there were some plays like that and others Mike,
(04:09):
where you know, you know this coach that you have
some plays you get, Man, I really love this. I
think this is gonna work. You know, it looks good
in practice, and then you have the impulse to get
it on the script early or to call it early.
They work and what have you And and then you know,
not that you shoot your wad, but but maybe some
(04:29):
of your best big plays you've already used by the
end of the first quarter. That kind of how is
how it played out to some degree last night.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
Yeah, I think that, you know it. I was what
kept going through my mind is that without enjigma, what
what are we doing here? You know, because it was
you know, he was he was superb he was really good.
And to be good like he has, you know, Sam
(04:59):
has to be throwing it on time and and his
touchdown passed to him and he got hit right in
the face after you threw the ball. Those things got
them the win. And you know she was right. The
defensive guys, they they got the win for the team
(05:20):
last night. And they're really good on defense, and they're
really good upfront, and they have a great middle linebacker
right now. So that I think that's going to be
the formula. I think that's going to be the formula
for the rest of the season.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
And I know you you've got some thoughts on this,
but let's uh, let me divert this to coach first,
How do you reconcile that you have a red hot
wide receiver that apparently can't get covered because you know,
the defenses are trying to stop a guy that has
two hundred more of your seeding yards than the second
place guy in the National Football League. With trying to
(05:55):
balance out this offense coach going forward, because I'm pretty
sure sure you can't be just a one man attack.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
No, I don't think they are. I think there it's
kind of falling into place but I blame the opposing
defense as good as Houston is on defense, and they're
secondary strong that they couldn't answer. They did not have
an answer for that. And that's what amazes me about
this young man. I mean, he's a really good receiver.
(06:25):
I don't think they call plays necessarily to get him
the ball, but their structure of their routes and so
on frees him up. There are certain things on play
action pass and then the crossers and think on the
deep cross that's for him. But he generally speaking, he
doesn't drop the ball. You know, he's very quick. He's
understands zone and man reads in there so he gets open.
(06:48):
He has more room than a lot of receivers. So
you know, I can't say enough about him.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Yeah, he even makes a fifteen yard penalty look cool.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Well, he's he's as we've talked about.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
I think his frame, uh you know, at six', one
a little over two hundred, pounds he's a mid size
guy with with relatively short, legs which which kind of
prevents him from having elite long, speed but it does
allow him to have extreme. Quickness HIS iq is off the,
chain his. HANDS i, mean you you can't not distract.
(07:30):
HIM i, mean he's gonna land every plane when the
ball's near. Him he tracks the.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Ball like an. Outfielder so there's so.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Much but it look they targeted him fourteen times last,
night and the other starting, Receiver Cooper cup was targeted.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
ONCE i just don't. THINK i just don't.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
THINK i we you, know discussed this at length and
the post came, well not at, length but we touched
on this last night That. MIKE i JUST i don't
think that the offense is gonna reach its. Potential you,
know the next closest guy was a royal with five,
targets So jigba had almost three times as. Much so
(08:09):
so if we're if we're talking about ways that we
want to maximize the potential of this, OFFENSE i don't
think it's with this balance distributing the ball in the passing.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
GAME i THINK i, THINK i think you have a
very good point, there because they need more. Balance, well
you are going to throw two's. OPEN i mean that's
what you're taught to, do and he is very very
capable of getting.
Speaker 6 (08:31):
Open, yeah they can't cover, him might as well throw
it to. Him BUT i hear what you're saying, too
you've got to find some other. Options so it's not
so easy to game plan. ANYWAYS i, mean typically if
you lose the turnover battle four to, one it doesn't
usually work out in your. Favor that's a pretty big,
one pretty big no. No and So i'm, wondering, coach
how did how did you like The Cooper cup passer
(08:53):
up fourteen? Zip And you're, like, hey let's try some trick.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Play do you like?
Speaker 6 (08:56):
That?
Speaker 4 (08:57):
NO i, didn't BUT i wasn't a big trick play.
Person but but you, know you, know he called, it
And i'm surprised That cooper he threw. It you, know
it wasn't. Working they didn't, bite this receiver was, covered
even if the throw has been. Good so at that
(09:18):
stage of the game and how they were, PLAYING i
was very surprised by that.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Play how do you Reconcile sam's night last? NIGHT i
mean he played well at, times but also just a
couple of crazy mistakes.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
Himself, yeah, yeah let me let me touch on that
that reverse craft By cup IF i could just for a,
second BECAUSE i got a friend in a text group there's,
like why would you do? That and then just throw
a ten twelve yard? Pass they were trying to Get
Tory horton on a corner route up to the back
of the end zone and and you, Know houston covered,
(09:51):
it and so then the second option was In jigba
as kind of an, outlet and you know he's relatively.
Open certainly he was opened by co back, standards but
you know it's not a quarterback throwing.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
It But Sam.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
Donald, Look Sam donald is coming off of four straight
games where his passer rating is over one hundred and,
ten so he's at seventy. Four last, night he had
two very critical errors like double, minuses and if you
could have a triple, minus you do.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
That the sack in the end zone where.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
You know he Tried mike knows That John elways spin
Where elway had as a right handed, quarterback he would
face feel pressure off his left and he would spin
around to his left and and he had a knack
for making plays out of. That there's a time for.
That Sam donald's actually done on some of, that and
he's been good in that, regard but he chose a
(10:48):
poor time to do. It it was going to be
a safety and then he didn't have ball security and
it turns into a. Touchdown and then you, know in
the fourth, down fourth, quarter rather when you're just trying
to nurse a lead that interception that he.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Threw And, mike.
Speaker 5 (11:05):
You, know from a play construction, STANDPOINT i know you
don't study the coach's tape and maybe THE tv didn't
give the. Angle But, mike think of to the right
side AS z. Spot you know the concept, well And
chuck And. Buck that's a three man, concept very prevalent
in THE nfl and college And franklin in high. School
but Imagine mike THE z. Spot but instead of the,
(11:27):
corner the tight end running the corner, route the tight
end runs a. Scene and so, normally if you're gonna
go back To chuck And, buck if you're gonna go
against a three deep, defense there's there's a structure where.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
You want the.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
Corner route to be the high to clear out the.
Corner but if you run him on a, seam you
better as a, quarterback you better jolly be well be.
Ready if you try and throw that. Scene you got
to know that there's nothing outside holding that. Corner the
corners in an outside, leverage but he can bring underneath, that
and you'd want to pull him into the middle you'd
want to have something else occupying that free safety and
(12:07):
really pull them that free. Safety SO i think in
the in the in the construction of the, PLAY i
don't like. It but the quarterback is enough of a
veteran he's got to, Know, hey that corner can fall
in on that seam. Route and that's what happened With,
stingley the third overall pick in the. Draft you, know,
ah you, know high ceiling, athlete and he makes a
pick that was really. Brutal and SO i would say the, Quarterback, Hey,
(12:31):
MIKE i would, SAY i didn't call.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
You a great.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
Play it didn't you, know play out the way we.
Wanted but you're the last guy with the football in your.
Hand you're the last eyeballs on this, play and you
got to protect my bad. Call what's your take on?
Speaker 4 (12:48):
That, well first of, ALL i never made any bad,
calls that's the first, thing you. Know so but, no
that's what you. Say you, KNOW i, SAID i, Go i'm,
sorry but you, know if they play, this you got
to know. That and then you've got to go someplace
else so you qualify the mistake you made or the
(13:08):
bad play call against that. Defense and and and then
but then you got the ball in your, hands you're
the you're the final. One so uh, yeah that's probably
how i'd handle.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
It a lot of good things from him, too, though
coach And, hugh you, know we didn't get to, those
but we should take a couple of. MINUTES i, mean
he's just been playing sensational. Football, yeah he made a
couple minus minus plays the last, night but, Coach Sam
darnold just continues to play good football out.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
Here, no he absolutely. Does and and you know, what
He there's no One it's been my, experience and he
knows this because he played the position for so. Long
there's no one that feels it more than the guy
who made the, mistake, nobody and he. Is he has treated,
that you, know his his play that way pretty. Honestly all.
(13:59):
See but he is having a good. Year And i've
said it, Before i'll say it. Again he will get us.
There he will get US i know exactly how, far
but he will get us to the playoffs and we'll
see what. Happens because you, KNOW i really like, him
obviously you can. Tell BUT i think he's having a great.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
START i really like him as.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
WELL i think that As mike touched on that touchdown
pass was you, know kind of next. Level that's an
extremely high difficulty play to play with that, timing the
defensive look that he. Had you, know he's trying to
get it between the corner and the, safety but but
there had been another safety that had kind of was
(14:44):
right in his. Sellvision he had to throw over him
and to put in that spot with that kind of,
pressure that was an elite throw that you, know the
the go route up the sideline that he just walks
out there doing jigba and all the other. Things and
AND i think that what makes The Demico ryans defense
difficult to go against is similar to The seattle. Defense
(15:07):
they don't play a lot of, man they play a
lot of, zone but they do a lot of zone.
Pressures they bring guys and it puts a it puts
a strain on you to just decipher where the pressure's
coming from and where the windows. Are and, so you,
know he didn't have his best, game but he played
(15:30):
well enough to win given the circumstances and how well
the defense.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Played seahawks do win twenty seven to nineteen over The
Houston texans last night to move to five and two
on the season and they get to head into the.
Buy on that, note It's Monday Morning. Quarterback it's brought

For sleep And Core. Construction we Got Mike, homeran we
got you milling with.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Us we will.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Continue the conversation next On Sports radio ninety three point

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Rfm now back to The Monday Morning quarterback brought to
you by Muckelschut, bingo By North Creek, roofe The Washington
center For sleep and By Court construction on your home
for the twelfth. Man Sports radio ninety three point three
kJ R fm drops. Right oh, yeah we got a
(16:23):
two big dogs here with us barking across the.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Street. Yeah after football Knowledge.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Seahawks twenty seven nineteen winners over The Houston texans last.
Night we'll get into The Sea hawk defense last night
here in a. Moment but, COACH i want to start
with your your favorite, topic the officials twenty two penalties
last night one hundred and ninety eight yards and can
you explain to.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
Me how that wasn't a? Safety ON.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Cj, Stroud do you have any idea how that was
not a.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Safety, NO i.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Don't answer that. Question that was but that came FROM
i think that came from someplace. ELSE i could be
wrong about, that but you, know they get the you,
know they're going to Phone New york and all. That
whatever they. DO i don't know what they do. Now
so that that's what. Happened but, NO i THOUGHT i
thought that was a safety all the, way and that
(17:16):
was a big. Play it was going to be a
big play. Too but, NO i want before we get
into the, officials deep dive into the. OFFICIALS i want
to talk about something you said that earlier about about you,
know and he does this to, me So i'm going
to do it to. Him you have you? Have he
Grated Sam darnold a minus, one minus, two minus. Three
(17:42):
no one gets to that, level, Nobody he never he
never got to that. Level he never had a. Three
SO i thought that was that was a, telling very
telling understanding of how that play. Went so enough of.
That so the, officiating it it's it's it's it's taken
(18:02):
away from games in my. OPINION i you, KNOW i
am studying the film like like you, does but you
know it it's too much and certain CREWS i know
some of the officials that were working WHEN i was.
Working now they're. Referees they weren't referees at the. Time
but and And i'm not. SURPRISED i just don't LIKE
(18:23):
i don't like. It it's it's disruptive to the flow
of the. Game and and there's a lot of things
that are that are really, close and it seems like
they're calling it too.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
CLOSE i like that you threw a flag on huh
to start the segment.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Here, uh you forgive, me forgive, me but you're still
you're still the. Best forgive.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
ME i saw so many triple minuses on my my grade.
SHEET i just thought, that you, know its like again
Out Scooby.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Snacks it's just weird for.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Me just like on the safety play that you could
be called for forward progress at the one when you're running.
Backwards do you get forward progress when you're running? Backwards
i'm not.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Sure.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
Yeah and his whole body except for his big toe
was in the end On.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Yeah, yeah it's very.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Strange all, right let's talk about the Defense hugh last. Night,
MAN i, mean you allowed just two yards per carry
from the running. Backs you got three, sacks you knocked
down like a dozen balls in mid. Flight what was
your take on how well The seahawks defense. Played, yeah,
well first of, All i've learned three.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
Things i've learned that ice is cold and wheels, around
and The seahawks can stop the run like they. Are
they're number one in THE nfl fewest rushing yards per.
Game they're tied for number one in rush yards per
tamp you, know SO i think That mike McDonald would,
say everything that we need to do starts, with you,
(19:52):
know creating the the the favorable downs and third, down
the longer, yard and you know it starts with stopping the.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
Run so you got to commend.
Speaker 5 (20:00):
That BUT i think For mike McDonald's, part you, know
coming off of The Tampa bay game where he criticized
himself AND i commend him for having done, that there
was more action in terms of Scheme mike last.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Night and here's WHAT i, Mean chuck And.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
Buck anything over four man rush is considered a blitz
or a dog in THE. Nfl so five man, rush
The seahawks defense come in averaging five point five per.
Game remember that five point. Five last night they had
a season. High they had thirteen where they rushed, five
of WHICH. C. J stroud was seven to eleven and
(20:40):
sixty two yards just to seventy nine passer rating in
they get two sacks on those six man. Rush all,
season The seahawks have had four plays with a six man,
rush two Against, arizona two Against New. Orleans last night
they had five And stroud went one for five for five,
yards had. Interception that's a rating of. Zero if you
(21:03):
took five passes and you drop back and through them
to the, cheerleaders you'd have a passer rating of thirty
nine because you would have you, know you wouldn't have
an interception on the. Board so they created a passer
rating of zero on the times they rushed six. Guys
havoc plays defined as, sacks, interceptions, passes blocked, passes, defense
(21:25):
and tackles for. Loss their previous high was. Thirteen they average.
Eleven this is The seahawk. Defense last night they had twenty.
One they forced twenty one havoc plays and as a,
percentage the season high had been twenty. Percent last night
they had thirty. Percent So, mike you saw a MORE
(21:47):
i don't know Aggressive mike McDonald in terms of blitzeing
and zone blitzes and, pressers and on a squeeze formation
they brought a double cat both corners coming off the
edge back them guys. OFF i, mean they threw a
lot at That houston offense and for the most part
it was.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Working.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
Yeah, absolutely when you're looking at How stroud played the.
Game mike obviously is a, good smart defensive, coach and
they saw something on film that the, pressure the pressure
bothers every. Quarterback but the pressure they got last night
their defensive front is really. SOMETHING i, mean they're really,
good you, know AND i know where you got that cheerleader.
Line that's Some Jerry. Glanville but let's talk about something.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
Else, yeah some of those those coaching, idioms they get
burned in your memory for.
Speaker 6 (22:38):
Sure, yeah, coach you had mentioned something earlier about and
this team has a good inside. LINEBACKER i mean it
kind of was documented last year after when they made
the move to go Get Ernist, jones that that's when
the defense started to gel and turned into what it.
IS i, MEAN i think that the you know we
know here In, Seattle Bobby, WAGNER i, mean just there's
(23:01):
People Ray Lewis is And Michael Singletaries Mike singletary is
the guys how important inside linebacker can be to obviously
stop in the, run but even drop him back and
getting a pick like he did. Yesterday what is it
About Ernest jones that kind of makes it to where
that's one of the things that pops out of your.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Mouth?
Speaker 6 (23:17):
First and they got a really good inside, Linebacker.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Well he's he's, statistically he's involved in a lot of
things and makes a lot of, tackles first of. All,
secondly to do, that you have to have a really
good understanding of what your defense is running and how
you're going to position. People and he's responsible for positioning
a lot of the guys in that front, Seven so
that sticks out of. Me then his, ability he's got good.
(23:43):
HANDS i mean not every linebacker can catch every ball
throne to, him that's for, sure but he has shown
he's got really good hands and can make those. Plays
so they needed. That i'm the SURPRISE i have buck
is how they got? Him how would? They how WOULD
i forget who he was? With? Yeah not so? Surprise you,
(24:06):
know well they you know, what but how do you
get a player like? That and the you know and
and blessed you, know kudos to them because they saw
something they liked and he's playing like.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
That he know what was your play or player that
popped for you last?
Speaker 4 (24:23):
Night?
Speaker 5 (24:23):
Uh, well a couple of. Things first of, all, PLAYER
i think we got to Mention Nick amm And. Worry
uh you, know he reminds Me mike of a, quarterback
a rookie quarterback with like a blazing and you coach
one in far but just like This howardzer of a
cannon which allows him to be read a little bit,
(24:44):
late like oh, okay that's Not Joe.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Montana beautiful timing and.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
Anticipation he's a little, late but he's got such a
rocket he can just he can knife the ball into
a window even though he's. Late Even, worry you can
see that his instincts are improving every. Week but sometimes
he's just a fraction of a second late reading. It
but he's so dogon athletic he can turn. It it's
(25:08):
graceful for a tall. Man he covers a lot of.
Grounds so that guy has got star written all over
and that would be a thought on a. Player and
by the, Way Murph Byern murphy is really really coming.
On so these young guys on the, defense he didn't Have.
Witherspoon the young guys on the defense are really. Impressing
but for, me the play of the, game it was
a sequence there with three minutes to go in the third,
(25:30):
Quarter seattle up just twenty to, twelve and The texans
had a lead off the left side on third and.
One seattle stuffed him and then they went for the
at their own thirty. Nine they went forward on fourth
down down again late third, Quarter seahawks up by eight
and they had a loss of a yard on fourth and.
(25:53):
One that, defense everybody in there Got DeMarcus, Lawrence, Nuoso,
Murphy Jaron reid like like everybody was just there to
stuff that and and then from, there with a short,
field The seahawks five six plays later scored the touchdown
that that was with the the injigba pass interference that
(26:15):
put the ball on the one they bang it in
there to get the twenty seven to twelve. LEAD i
think that little sequence late in the third, Quarter mike
was kind of.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
THAT i put.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
POGUH i know there's a beverage my kids used to
drink pog, and BUT i put pog and that's.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Play player of the. Game what is it pineapple and and?
Guava what is? It bucky?
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Pineapple what it? Is?
Speaker 5 (26:39):
So SO I i think about that juice every TIME
i write.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
It BUT i put pog right in that.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
Sequence, mike fourth and, one you get that, that you
get to create the short field and then you get
the fifteen point lead late in the third.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Quarter.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
YEAH i was just you, Know i'm with you on,
that and that was a key part of the. Game
but WHEN i did with play calling sometimes that going for. It,
Okay i'm gonna go gay with. That but the place
they were, IN i, mean it just it didn't seem
like they practiced it very much or they are given
how the game was going and how the defensive line
(27:11):
for The seahawks was taking, charge that that would be
the call you'd, make and it hurt.
Speaker 5 (27:17):
Him.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
Yeah Mike homran is with. Us hugh millanis WITH Us Coach.

Kjrfm All, Right final segment here on This, Tuesday monday
(27:49):
morning quarterback session here for the last, hour first three
hours talking about The mariners season coming to a. Close, so,
Man i'm glad to be nearly through This tuesday. Show
take a breath here at the end of the, program
but we're gonna savor our final segment with Coach holmren
and also With Hugh. Millen it's one last thing. Time
what do you got for you?
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Here, Well i'll give you.
Speaker 6 (28:12):
ONE i, MEAN i think he's as long as A
mariner fan as anybody out, there and everybody knows he
was the original Show hey O tani of the Greatest Pacific.
Northwest so how you feel in show hey breed love
after on a day after The mariners season comes to A,
WELL i got.
Speaker 5 (28:34):
Two, thoughts and, YEAH i was there year one yelling
my lungs out in the outfield for group. Group BUT
i would say two thoughts number one to put it into.
Context in a nineteen Year Major league baseball, career Each
row had five postseason extra base. Hits George springer has
(29:00):
has twenty three postseason home runs and DID i see
that broadcast?
Speaker 3 (29:05):
Right nine of? Them or take the lead home?
Speaker 5 (29:08):
Runs So SO i just hope That bizardo is the
guy that you would say that's the best guy we,
have because it's hard for me as a layman to
not want that that brass frisbee coming in at.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Him and then.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
The other point WAS i can't get it out of
my head The Isaiah Kiner filepa grounder like, You, mike
you know when you did you script rocks out on
a smooth river or lake and you try to count, like,
oh that was twenty three skips right before it.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Died that's that ground. Ball that ground ball had like
twenty three.
Speaker 5 (29:47):
Bounces and how does how does the short stop not
get to? THAT i don't, know BUT i probably didn't
see that. Right you, know it's just me being salty
about the. Events but but, yeah that that that's springer
throwing the. Springer, LIKE i Hope bizarto was the guy
that you think is the best, guy because that's gonna
(30:07):
haunt you if it wasn't the best.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
Guy.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
YEAH i agree with both of those. Things and we
brought UP jp not getting to that ball last night
in the postgame. Show we didn't talk about it. Today
off the, BAT i thought that was a double. Play i'm, like,
oh there you, go got the ground ball that you,
needed and he didn't even come close to. It it
was SO i don't know where he was positioned or
if he was just that slow laterally to move.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
Positioned he was he, was he was mid or even
slightly shaded the second because of the hole between first and.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
Second, yeah all.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
Right topic for another, time another thing to be frustrated.
About all, right, coach we'll close out with.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
You one last thing.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Here seahawks five and two on the. Season there are
only two. Losses probably should have beat the forty nine,
ers could have very easily beat The Tampa Bay. Buccaneers
and they've beaten some pretty decent teams The steelers by,
Fourteen jaguar In jacksonville by, eight and even That texans,
TEAM i think is not a bad team that they
won by. Eight so how good are you feeling if
(31:07):
You're mike McDonald headed into the bye week with a
five and two record.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
At this, STAGE i think he's feeling very very. Good you,
know it'd be interesting to see how he handles this bye.
Week that's kind of always an interesting. Things teams handle it,
differently whether you get players day offs or you, know
how you do. That, so but you, KNOW i have
a lot of confidence in him and what he's, done
and they're off to a great. START i just want
to mention one thing too about The. MARINERS i was
(31:33):
watching last night AND i told You katy couldn't watch
it because she gets emotional about. It but then after the,
game they focused in on the. Players And i've been
there where you're in the Super bowl or you're in
a championship game and you lose for whatever, reason you,
lose but the feeling you have it's hard to. Describe
(31:55):
bouncing back from something like that is the. Challenge and
they had a great, year really a great. Year everyone
was hoping so much that they do something. Farther BUT
i got to give him, credit and BUT i was
kind of my takeaway WAS i was feeling the same
pain that they were at, times.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Painful, night painful. Evening.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Uh For mariner fans, everywhere there's no question about get that, close,
man to get that. Close all, right, gentlemen excellent stuff as,
Always thank you very, much AND i guess we'll get
back to a normal schedule going.
Speaker 3 (32:31):

Speaker 4 (32:33):
We have to buy it to talk about next. Week
we'll talk about to buy what did? You what did
h do during his bye? Week that's WHAT i want to.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
Know he analyzed, Films that's WHAT i think he.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
Did plug in the.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Computer probably wrote a letter To Roger goodell about the goat.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Herders that it makes, sense we Kindled Jerry.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
Glanville probably throw balls to the.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
