Playoff fashion. Game three is today and we're here for

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Bucky Jacobs dads, Right, We hung out with the eminem
and b Rabbit last night talking all kinds of trash.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, there's been a lot of bad trash talk here
over the course since we got turns out, Ashley, everybody
in Detroit, Michigan. I was braced for the worst. Couldn't
be nicer, really really yeah, like veryverly nice, Like everybody
that we run into. I've been ready to do some
really rough trash talk. Yeah, and they've ruined it by
being so kind and welcoming.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yeah, So but I'm not gonna stop. I mean, the
fingernails are already out. Yeah, I'm not gonna I'm not
gonna clip them.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
So we're coming after you. So cheddar Bob and uh
and be Rabbit tried to drag us across eight mile.
We'd have nothing of it. We put them in their
place right away.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, wrap battled them right to right out, right across
eight miles. What we did, like, get back over there.
I was proud of you. Yeah, thank you. I mean
I was spitting some rhymes and whatnot. It's what I've
known to do, especially when I come to Motown.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
I was all expecting, like, hey, Diana Ross, yep, yeah,
you were with the Supremes. What's it like to have
a band named after a pizza? Really trash talk?

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Yeah, ready to go?

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Hey Tom, I like nice Detroit Tigers hat that you
wear all the time. What's the PI and magnum P
I stand for pathetic idiot?

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Oh wow, well you were going to bring that yeah
dead right from the first person we met Danielle at
the hotel, just pleasantess all get out. We're like, heyn
get one of these eighteen dollars waters and she like
it's on me. Go ahead, take it, Like what say?
What the way you just gave me something free?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Such a great example right there. They're like coming in there,
Oh yeah, we're from Seattle, we're out of town. Were
weir the f you up, Danielle, And she's like, take
some waters on me. You have a chocolate bar?

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah, hey, why not? Welcome to Detroit.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Wow, she was a.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Yeah. Turns out that it is.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah, I'm gonna write her a five star review. She
is the best.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
That's some serious trash talking right there.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Yeah, you better watch yourself, Danielle. You'll get four and
a half stars.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Yeah. Eat that up and you'll get I'll drop you
a four and a half stars.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Yeah. Yeah, thanks for the thanks for the letting us
know to go to Tommy's bar. It was awesome, like
amazingly enjoyed it, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Danielle, your tremendous advice is chapping my ass. So we're
to take it out on you Tuesday night.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
It has been something else. It has been something else.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Uh, well, welcome into the show.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
H yes. Uh.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
I don't know what got into the bosses, but they're like, hey,
you want to go on the road for the entire postseason. Yeah,
what's the trick, Well, nothing, We're gonna put you ou
in a really nice hotel. Normally we don't.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I am pretty sure there's something fishy going on here.
I think this is iHeart Detroit in action. Maybe we
walk in one Danielle spectacular spectacular, beautiful hotel got a
little bit of a radio theme to it as well. Yes,
I think we probably need to find who to think here.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
I think you guys might have gotten sent to the
wrong hotel because aren't you supposed to stay at like
a days in Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Yeah, usually?

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Yeah? Where are your feet stick to the floor? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:13):
I think something something got mixed up here.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yeah, this thing's amazing, other than the fact that it
has eighteen to twenty seven light switches and it's hard
for me to figure out. I just want the lights off,
and it's like, oh, these are gonna just dim these
three over here.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Typical Michigander trying to confuse me with all the light switches. Well,
it's not gonna work. We're gonna destroy you Tuesday night. Yeah, yeah,
ella ellam shuck.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Oh man, you guys and your trash chucking.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
It's for we are serious. We are already.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Hey, Carry Carpenter, nurse home runs. Handsome boy.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Oh got him now he might by Floyd Kerry Carpenter.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
You seem like you help lot of kids out.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Jerk. You're going down, charity boy.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Yeah, charity boy, give a lot of money to charity. Okay,
we're gonna own.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Whatever. Their beautiful smile, charity boy, and.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
I will show you. We'll wipe that gorgeous smile off
your face and no time.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Yeah, and then you'll probably have another one on five
minutes later.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Take one off.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Just go tell him how handsome he is, just to
make him uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
We should.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
You are really cute.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
You just be like, just go up.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
You are are You're gorgeous.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
You just go up and go better looking person.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah, turn around, give me a spin. Carry, I'm gonna
be watching you all game.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
That would throw them off.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
I'm gonna try it. It just threw me off. I'm
just watching him go through the motions right here. Yeah.
I like that. So yeah, it's great to be here,
it really is. And and yeah, and we're very appreciative. Certainly,
we weren't expecting to be heading out on the road
for the divisional round of the playoffs, but when given

(06:05):
the opportunity, Bucky and I jumped at it. We're doing
our show from the iHeart studios here in Detroit. Turns
out there's not another sports radio station. They don't have
one here at the iHeart family, so we're standing out
like sore thumbs. He likes all the young rocker DJ
they're all.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Probably dress really hip.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Yeah, there is a little bit of a hip dressing
situation going on around here. I don't fit in.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
I feel under tattooed for sure, just based on my
one trip to the bathroom. Again, very nice people, oh yeah,
and shitter chattering while we were urinating. Uh huh, and
I'm kind of doing something here, came out, he said, whoa,
I big fella.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
I tried to fit in the best I could because
in the mornings that's where I do something other than urinating.
Oh yeah, And so I had to go do that
while a guy waited for me at the door. So
I tried to come off all cool, because that's the
least cool thing in the world that you can do,
is show up at somebody's house and use their restroom.

(07:10):
And so I came out and I said, you know
how it works, man, you got to do your blow
right before the show starts.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Yeah, well in Detroit, you know what it's.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Like here in Detroit, Detroit rock city.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yeah, that's what it means, is where Barry Gordy's from.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Yeah, I didn't get a text asking you. How does
it feel to do a show at nine o'clock?

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Different?

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Wonderful it feel? Yeah, I mean it's probably the most
sleep I've gotten on a Monday night, and that ten years,
and yet I could have I could have gone longer. Yeah,
I was really comfy in my wonderful hotel bed.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Yeah, I'm completely everything is all ye created, the beds. Yeah,
probably very fluffed up. I mean it's it was weird
to wait cup with the sun already kind of rising.
Not that we don't get that for a couple months
during the summer in Seattle, but it was. And then
like things were open. We're walking downstairs to go to
that little breakfast thing and get a I got a

(08:12):
latte this morning. Somebody else made my coffee for me
that hadn't happened in ten years. Got a little muffin
that Danielle requested, which was a sausage, egg and cheese
inside of two pieces of French toast. Oh, Danielle, you
are amazing and yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
And then he's really come through it.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
We we scheduled our uber to get here to work,
scheduled at for eight o'clock. That was our only one
almost mistake. The guy was there early and almost left
because it was seven fifty five. He's like almost, I'm
getting ready to pull out here. I'm like, well, I
scheduled it for five minutes in the future from right now.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Yeah, you can't.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
You can't leave me when you're early early. Yeah, come
to find out. Timothy is his name. He uh, former
truck driver. They went out of business, And you said
it perfectly. I don't know how that dude was a
truck driver. Who the hell did he talk to? Because
he didn't shut up the entire driver I know.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Yeah, So yeah, just couldn't be nicer and it's but
it's not gonna stop us from trash talking. You hear that,
Bob Seeger turn the page on these nuts?

Speaker 4 (09:20):
Yeah, got him? That's yeah. I see T shirts around here.
Detroit versus everybody. You better just worry about Chuck and
Buck and Ashley. Who's Detroit against right now?

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Dan yell and are like fifty years old. Why are
you still calling yourself a kid? Yeah? Grow up already? Rock.
Wait on, we take it out on you Tuesday and Wednesday,
right here in Detroit, right in your own backyard.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Like it. I like that.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
We've gotten the rock. He's just the rock now. See
he grow what he grew up, not kid rock?

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yeah yeah, oh yeah, yeah, he's.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
An adult, he's a grown up man.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Yeah, we're.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Kid going to do it against a grown up adult
rock nothing, nothing at all. Probably probably get paddled and
sent to bed. Did you hear what I told him?

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Yeah, we got you.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
If I'd known that that, you know, starting the show
at nine o'clock was going to make you guys this amazing,
I would really petitioned for this a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Uh, Well, we've got a lot playing for you. We
got a lot to discuss here on the on the
program today, and then we got to get to the
old Ballyard a little bit later on. One thing that
we should tell you about, and we will talk about
throughout the course of the show today. There is a
little bit of sprinklage action taking place here, and there's
gonna be some stormage taking place a little later on today,

(10:50):
so we might be dodging rain drops in game number
three of the Divisional Series. They are we already have
kind of a change in believe it or not. We're
flying in and they, you know how, they announced the
weather like we're going to be landing in seventeen minutes,
and this is the weather you can expect here. I am.

(11:11):
I took a winter coat for goodness sake, because believe me,
I've gone to Cleveland for playoff coverage in my lifetime
and forgot to take a coke. Okay, so and then
so then you have to go buy a coat. So
I went, I got it. I made sure that I
brought heavy coat in case the weather turns out here.
And so we're flying in and maybe I should have

(11:33):
checked this, and they announce and it's eighty eight degrees.
Eighty eight degrees at seven pm and muggy in October
early October in Detroit, Michigan and muggy, So that didn't
seem to add up. And then of course overnight the
weather started to shift. We still are warmer now than

(11:57):
what we're going to be at high noon, so we're
coming down from the warmth that we're getting in for
a cold front and that convergence is gonna lead to
possibly a thunderstorm this afternoon. But as of right now,
they are forecasting that the thunderstorms should roll out at
about two pm, and the game, of course is four

(12:19):
pm here, so one pm back home. But there are
forecasting at this point that the thunderstorm portion of the
day is going to roll out before game time. But
we still might be dealing with rain throughout the course
of the ballgame, which I hate hearing because our guys
don't handle that well. And I don't want Logan Gilbert. Oh,

(12:42):
we're worried he's gonna stiffen up being taken out of
the game two and a third innings into a really
important game three.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Tonight, Yeah, really important. But I mean, I'm looking at
the other way. This is again half glass half full.
I mean, a little bit of rain. I don't want
rain delays because I'm with you on the fact that
we've watched how that has gone for this squad and
it hasn't been very good. But just a little some
smattering of rain that they play through. That's Seattle weather
right just now. Not that our guys are used to

(13:10):
playing it rain because we have a roof, Yeah, but
still the feel the atmosphere a little bit of moist
during the air. Let's go ahead and have it. But yeah,
it does sound like it's going to be fine. That
maybe if there's a little bit of rain or a
significant amount of thunderstorm type rain early, it's going to
be gone before the game starts and then they'll just
be a little bit rain.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah. The other thing, and I was kind of surprised
to see this this morning, but they really acted like
that Game two was lost. They're acting like here in
Detroit it was devastating. Here's the headline that I read,
Tigers waste rally and gut wrenching three to two loss
in game number two. Well, number one, we kind of

(13:49):
handed you that rally. There was a walk, there was
a miscall, and there was an error by our normally
you know, error proof first baseman. So it's not like you,
you know, it's not like you just rattled the bats
against Matt Brash. So you really we outplayed you that
whole game. So let's not act like you wasted a
rally and it was a gut wrenching loss. It would

(14:10):
have been a gut wrenching loss for the team that outplayed.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
You for nine hours.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah yeah, and lost because of an error and missed
poorly timed walk and everything else that went into that.
So that just, you know, just say, even up one
game apiece. Yeah, we're good. Yeah, for what it's wrenched,
I kept, I'm okay with.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Take that, with your gut wrenching loss that you never
deserved to even be in there for a minute. I
didn't even think about it from their perspective. That Wow,
to get that, to take advantage of the walk in
the air and then the double to tie it up,
only to have get calioed a cow dumping on you
and then Julio backing up with another double right behind it.

(14:49):
That maybe that does hurt. I hope it hurts Detroit
that way.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Yeah, really bad trash.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yeah, we're gonna get under their skin. Yeah, really fully
moisturized skin.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yeah, you're awesome predisposition that you have. Take that with
your gut wrenching loss. Yeah. I thought you.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
People are going to be rougher man. I was all
prepared for you, and now it turns out you're nice.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Yeah, it's weird, even smell good.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah, I don't feel the gut wrenching loss. Get a roof,
Get a roof.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Get a roof. We don't have to worry about damn rain.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Talk to me about gut wrenching.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
This was the first time the rain, Detroit. I think
we just invented rain. Yeah, did around for a while.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
You have plenty of time to put a roof on
that thing.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Get your heads out of your butt, Detroit.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Take that all right?

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Well, we are underway on a obviously a very normal
Tuesday here on Chucking Buck in the morning. So let's
find out what is on tap for the rest of
the show.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
What's on tip?

Speaker 2 (15:54):
What's on tap? Alright?

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Game three of the American League Divisional Series that tonight
right here in Detroit, Michigan. It'll be the Mariners, Logan
Gilbert going up against the Detroit Tigers, Jack Flaherty. The
first pitch is scheduled for one o'clock. I think we
will start on time, but to do keep in mind
that weather is a factor throughout the course of the day,

(16:17):
something that we will talk more seriously about a little
bit later on in the show. The Toronto Blue Jays
and New York Yankees will also resume their series. This
time it shifts to New York and so Yankee Stadium.
They're hoping is the place where they can turn this
series around, because so far it's been nothing but Blue
Jays against the Yankees. They scored twenty three runs in

(16:40):
two games. And so that will be the second game
tonight in the American League Divisional Round National League Divisional Round.
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers are both up
to oh as they start. They had the center stage
to themselves last night and Major League Baseball I should
give you an update on Josh Naylor. I'm sure you

(17:02):
heard it yesterday. We don't have any new information, but
obviously Josh Naylor he's out for personal reasons. He didn't
make the flight to Detroit. Doesn't mean that he didn't
get there overnight, and Dan Wilson doesn't feel obligated to
update us, that's for sure. But Josh Naylor, I guess

(17:22):
there's a distinct possibility that he is not in the
lineup tonight, which is certainly a big topic going into
game number three. His wife expecting a baby. We're assuming
that that's the reason he's going to be with her,
and I don't know, we'll see if we get more information,
but there is a chance Josh Naylor is not available,

(17:42):
let's face it, for either of these games in Detroit.
But we shall see, and so we'll update you on
that certainly. Talk about that later on in the show
Monday Night Football. The Jacksonville Jaguars were thirty one twenty
eight winners over the Kansas City Chiefs last night. Yes,
that's a factor fiction. When that's a fact. That's right,
Jacksonville one, that's right, not just covered one.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yes, right. I was sitting there, we were sitting at
Tommy's wonderful bar here in Detroit, by the way, and
I was.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Like, right, food's awesome.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Yeah it was. Yeah, it was right when service Jacksonville
scored the touchdown to go ahead by three earlier, like
in the third quarter, and I said to you, I said,
setting up for Ashley to just tie her factor fiction
pick if they come down to score. And sure enough
they did. But yet it still worked out. So I
was happy for you, ash Thank you.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
I was too.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
I was like, please do not let it be three
pushes in a row like that just seems cruel.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
Yeah, we couldn't handle another push. No, I'm tired of
being pushed around. That's all right, Vegas, I'll tell you that. Well,
it's It's also important to note that that's the next
opponent for the Seahawks. And those of you that fill
out your schedule at the beginning of the year on
schedule release day and you've determined the Seahawks record at
that point, you probably put a W next to ja

(18:56):
X on your little pocket schedule the day that it
came out. Well, suddenly the Jacksonville Jaguars look for real.
They're off to a four and one start, and we
travel to Jacksonville this week and are the underdogs. Vegas
has made the Seahawks the underdogs, and I think understandably so.
So suddenly that's a much more difficult game than what
we had forecast at the beginning of the year. Friday Night,

(19:19):
Husky's back in action. They will take on the Scarlet
Nights of Rutgers. So, yes, Friday Night, it could interfere
with Game five potentially of the Alds. It could split
our tension, obviously, but I'm kind of hoping we went
in four and Friday Night just can belong to the
dogs in Seattle. Rick new Isile's gonna join us this

(19:41):
morning at nine o'clock, and we got to talk with
coach new Isell because his son became the story of
college football over the weekend and he is proud papa,
So we'll get his thoughts on that and many other
things coming up today at nine o'clock. The NHL season
begins tonight. Real games, guil season games, three of them.

(20:02):
You've got the Blackhawks at Carolina, You've got Pittsburgh at
the Rangers, and you've got the Avalanche at the Kings.
The Kraken will not start until Thursday night when they
host the Anaheim Ducks. We will launch our Cracking coverage today.
Joey Decord's gonna join us. Also, Everett Fits you, proud

(20:23):
Detroit native Everett Fits You will be on with us today,
so we'll trash talk him. He's very kindly though. At
eight point thirty here this morning. So Kracking Thursday get
their season started. Their roster came together yesterday and nineteen
year old Berkeley Catton did make the roster, so did
young Ryan Winterton. They also are going to start the

(20:45):
season with three goalies. Maybe none of that happens if
Coppoccko and Ryker Evans weren't starting the season on the
IR but they are, and so Berkeley Catton, who Mike
Benton cannot stop talking about, is gonna make the opening
day roster for your Seattle Kraken. So we will get
you ready for Thursday, starting today right here on Chuck

(21:08):
and Buck in the mornings, but mostly we will be
talking Mariner playoff baseball and when we return, ABC's of
the MS come your way on Sports Radio ninety three
point three kJ R FM from Detroit. We've made the
trip with the team. We are here in Michigan and
we are ready for Game number three of the American
League Divisional Series. And all of this has been made

(21:30):
possible by Seattle's closest sports books, now Qualme Casino and Hotel.
Your place for a true end game betting experience. Download
the snow Qualme Casino Sportsbook app to get in on
the action while watching your favorite games at snow Qualme
Casino and Hotel. Details at snocasino dot com. Seattle's Closest

(21:51):
sports book, snow Qualme Casino and Hotel, and the ABC's
of the m something we've done all season long for
the Mariners Daily segment, and this of course a postseason
segment here, as we allow the alphabet to be a
guide through a number of different topics don't necessarily have
to be the top topics, but maybe they will be.

(22:13):
We left all of the letter K when last we
did this. K is for killer. It feels like a
killer to not have Josh Naylor in the lineup potentially
here tonight. But this team is deep enough, Bucky that
missing one guy for a game or two so that
he could be next to his wife and his newborn
child shouldn't shouldn't be a killer to the Mariners chances

(22:38):
here to know.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah, I mean, I love what he brings to the table,
even though he scuffled the first couple of games of
the playoffs here, I still love the way that he
goes about his business, and so it'll be missed. But
I mean there's times, I mean I can remember thinking
back to JP missing time with a suspension and Dylan
Moore comes in and performs as well as JP could
have even hoped to do. Now I feel like you're

(23:01):
losing something because it probably will be what Gino moving
over to first I would imagine, unless maybe they go
Luke Raley at first base interesting, So how they do that.
Maybe it's maybe it's Geno at first and Ben Williamson
at third, you're going more defensively oriented and a guy
that puts the ball in play, or you say, let's
give Luke Raley a start against a righty and flirty

(23:21):
that's starting for them, So who knows how they're going
to go. It's a step back. I mean, you definitely
have a lesser ballplayer that's going to be in the lineup.
But you're right, the lineup's deep enough that you're not
you shouldn't be reliant upon one guy and this team's not.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
Yeah, you see this a lot, though, and you're not
giving any information and understandably so, I mean, there's a
reason that Dan Wilson just said he's got a personal
day and he didn't expand on it whatsoever, because it's
as personal a thing as you can do, and you're
entitled to your privacy in that moment. So for some reason,
I kind of expect to see him with the snazziest

(23:55):
dad belt you've ever seen in your life, where in
the sparkliest dad shoes you've ever seen a person wear,
and with a smile on his sometimes very serious face
I have a feeling he's going to be on the
Diamond tonight, but you never know.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
He just never know, right, I mean, it's if he
didn't fly with the team, I'm assuming that that probably
means that he went to go be beside his wife
and see how things are going to progress. Now, I
don't think he's Probably he seems like the competitor that's
that's more important than a playoff game. And so anybody
that's sitting online mother f and the guy for wanting
to be there, just shut up if you're It's like,

(24:35):
I can want both. I want him in the lineup
at the same time, I want him to be able
to be there for the birth of his first child.
So if I would think that he's like, hey, how
you feeling, how's it going, you know, if they're going
to induce which I sent that edible arrangement, you know,
but with the potosin in it. And yet if they're
not going to do that, I don't assume he just said,
hen't gonna sit there and wait, because you can't tell

(24:57):
when the stuff's gonna happen. I know he's not taking
the rest of the postseason off to wait around for it.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
You know, I just have a vision of him right now,
you know, with his uniform already on, you know, his
bag packed next to his side, like you know, duffel bag.
You're not not like a suitcase. I duffle bag. So
that he just gets straight up and he's getting ready
to get on one of John Stanton's beer jets. And
he's just holding a little chuck Buck Naylor.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Yeah, you know in his armiler.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Guess that's what he went with.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
Yeah, a great car, yeah, nails.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, and he's just looking into his eyes and saying,
chuck Buck, I'll be back.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
I'll be bad. He's got to go win some playoffs. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
You watch Daddy go three for four tonight with six
runs bat in all right, yeah, right up. ELI was
for Logan. Logan Gilbert gets the start tonight. Of course,
you know that I wanted him to start game number
one of this series, so obviously I feel good about
him starting game number three. Now, we didn't win that game,
that game number one, but I don't put that at

(25:57):
George's feet. Uh So, I think I think by design,
I mean, they really wanted this Game three pitching advantage,
with Logan going against the Jack Flaherty and so you know,
maybe maybe could be two to zero. We'll never know
in hindsight, but I will say that having him fresh

(26:20):
ready to go for game number three on the road,
hostile environment, I feel pretty good about having Logan out there.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah. Rarely do you get to go with your opening
day starter in the third game of a five game series,
and yet that's where we find prepare for it. Yeah,
So I mean the idea. I mean, and these these
two have faced off before. Back in July, middle of July.
It was it was Gilbert versus Clarity and Logan. That's
the game that he gave up two unearned runs in

(26:48):
the first and then went five and a third shout
out from that point on and we ended up winning
that ball game. So I think that they're looking at
how that whole thing pans out. When you look back
at that game, I mean, that was a game. You
did have Ben Williamson in there, it did have Luke
Rayley in there. Crawford was still hitting lead off at
that point in time. It was before you had Nayler
and Suarez, so a lot different a lot of things

(27:08):
have changed from this point to that point, or from
that point to this point, and so I'm gonna be
curious to see what it is, but I'm just excited.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
It's a big game, pivotal game. You don't want to
drop game three? Oh, it's monstrous. Absolutely. I don't want
to face Trek scuobl in game five. Not that I'm
like scared of it, but I would prefer to avoid it,
I'll say that. And the only way to do that
is to win both these games here in Detroit and
just take the series. And so Bucky and I can
just relax and enjoy our flight home and not have

(27:37):
to worry about anything else.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Yeah another thing. No, I won't be worrying about a thing.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Ye, ships exactly, celebrating like we do. People look at
us strangely as we're pouring water over each other's heads
on the plane on the way. Supposed to do that,
I guess, yeah, whatever, Yeah, usually not on a commercial flight. Finally,
M is for Motown, and yes we're here. But the

(28:03):
players on the Tigers might feel strange to be back
in Detroit. They have not been here a lot here
in the last month. They have not played a game
here since September twenty. First, think about that. I mean
they've already played a series and two games in the
divisional round, and they have not played a game here

(28:24):
since September twenty. First, they played twenty three games on
the road in that No, that's not true. That applies
to the second statistic. They've only played six games at
home since September seventh, So they played twenty three games
and they've only played six home games in that stretch,

(28:46):
and they lost every single one.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Of those games.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
So they were home for a six game homestand lost
them all. That's during their rough stretch where they blew
the division. So they have not won a game at
all home since September sixth. It's good to know it's
October seventh. They have not won a game at home
in over a month, and here they are returning to

(29:13):
their beds and to their home stadium to take on
the Mariners tonight. So that's kind of incredible that that
kind of stretch can occur for a playoff team, a
team that makes the playoffs, that has reached the divisional
round has not won a home game and over a month.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
Yeah, Well, I'm hoping Kerry Carpenter like completely lost track
of where the stadium is.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
I hope he got back to town and he had
a squatter.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Yeah, yeah, in his apartment.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
He was up all night trying to get that guy
out of his living room.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
Right, and then he just gave up and then sleeping
in a like an old detergent box and an alley
somewhere idea.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Yeah, we can hope. We can only hope that he
was trying to get evict the squatter last night when
he got back. That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
No, I live here now, mister Carpenter.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Yeah, I don't care.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
My name is Trevor. Yeah, very nice to meet you.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
I'll be out at the end of the month. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
I heard you were gone for a while and nobody
was looking after this place, and so I.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Just moved in. Yeah, if you'd like, you can sleep
in the bathroom, the master bedrooms.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
No, I'd rather you not cross the threshold of my home,
mister Carter. I don't want you to get you know,
take your shoes off. Yeah, I want you to feel
don't make yourself at home. Don't make yourself at your home.
All right, More on this coming up a little later
on in the show. Also, we're gonna we're gonna squeeze

(30:36):
in some crack and talk today as well, and of
course the National Football League ever present. The Seahawks suddenly
have a different sort of outlook toward this week's game
than they might have had a month and a half ago.
We'll talk about a next Sports Radio ninety three point
three kh A r f M. Yeah, you're still going
down the next couple of nights, Robert, Yeah, we're still
taking you down. We're gonna break your heart.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Yeah, Robbie, remember all the days a getting your butt
kicked a couple.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
Yeah, maybe you ought to call up heart and see
maybe they'll tell you what's gonna happen to you here tonight.
You're talking trash. Yeah, interesting, Go get them Nancy, I
like that. Yeah, get up in there.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
You know that, like Pearl Jam, like Eddie Vedder's like
texting kid rock like you're a child. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yeah, we're gonna You're gonna we're gonna scramble your old
time rocking nuts.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Yeah, what we're gonna do.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Yeah, get ready to see your right between the eyes. Buddy,
here comes Yeah, silver bullet. All right, it's Chuck, it's Buck.
We are broadcasting live from Detroit. Thanks to our friends.
That's now Qualm Casino postgame coverage coming your way this
evening as well Games three and Games four here in Detroit. Uh,
so we are excited to be here, excited to deliver it.

(31:51):
Did you hear out there they're having a meeting? And
I guess they were applauding us the whole time you
open the door after our segment was over here at
the iHeart stations here in De Tree, right, And I
guess they're so overwhelmed that they're that we're here that
they're just cheering us wildly.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Yeah, I heard the coppying. I wasn't sure that it
was for us, but you're pretty sure it was. But
that makes sense, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Just putting two and two together. I mean, I'm not
out there with.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
The best.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
Right from them. So, yeah, that they're cheering wildly, And
I can just only assume something like this doesn't happen
exciting like this every.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Day to them, that they don't get us in the building.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
Yeah, okay, so they probably really built up to them.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
I did walk by. I got a couple of double takes,
a couple Oh my god, there's a sasquatch in the building.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Come on, you don't have to do it like that.
I'm just platantly obvious. You're like, I just I put
my pants on one leg.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
There's no way you even wear pants, which I appreciate
you not today.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Yeah, well I think you really made yourself at home.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
I thought I thought that's what we should do. We're
all I hurt family here. Check it out.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
There's people in the building while you're on the air.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
Yeah. Yeah, it's odd, like a lot of people really
like and they you want to know something cool. Their salespeople,
it looks like they all show up toward.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Really take that we have the exact same desk structure
here that we have back so iHeart found a really
good deal on sterile white desks and they.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
Went with it. Yeah. I did walk around and take
a look. And none of the men in these individual
offices have all Taylor Swift pictures in their office. So
so I think maybe we have the one of one
in Shobe.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
People aren't aware of him. But yes, we do have
a ball a big swifty. Yeah he's the biggest. He
is the biggest Swifty.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
Yeah. Yeah, Motown doesn't. I don't know if they'd let
that go.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Yeah, I think they listened to real music in the city. Yeah,
I got a pretty good history of it.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Oh oh, you listened to great music?

Speaker 2 (33:56):
Yeah, musicians? Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
You know what, You take your great taste in music
and you can shove it where the sun don't shine.
We're taking it down tonight.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Yeah you don't. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
All right. Well, I was gonna talk a little bit
about the Seahawks, but I'll just mention this, as I
mentioned a little bit earlier in the show. The next opponent,
which we really won't start breaking down until tomorrow, the
Jacksonville Jaguars. That's just a different opponent right now. That's
just a different animal. They won last night over the
Kansas City Chiefs. They're four and one. The Jacksonville organization

(34:32):
has believed in this roster for a couple of years now,
and it's not like they didn't go for it with
a head coach. I mean, Urban Meyer was a significant
signing and Doug Peterson was a significant signing. I mean
those looked on paper to be like really big moves,
and they didn't quite work out well. The organization went
into this offseason coming off another frustrating year, and there's

(34:54):
a reason why they moved up in the draft. They
moved Mountains to get Travis Hunter in the draft. They
felt like that was a piece that puts us over
the top. So they believed with Liam Cohen, their new
head coach, and the talent that they have, that they
were going to make a little bit of a breakthrough
this season, and they certainly have. I mean, if your
attention hasn't been drawn by the Jacksonville Jaguars, you better

(35:15):
look that way. They are a really good team. This
is not a flucish four and one start for them.
And so now the Seahawks get ready to go there
to play this weekend, and to the surprise of nearly everyone,
including me, they're going to go in there as an
underdog this week. So we'll certainly talk more about it
as the week progresses, but we got other things to discuss,

(35:36):
including tonight's Divisional three matchup with the Tigers, And we
also are ramping it up toward opening Day. That's tonight
in the NHL, and the Kraken won't start until Thursday,
and old friend Joey Decord will be joining us. He'll
stop by next Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM
