Speaker 1 (00:01):
I mean that like when I'm sometime around two am, three,
four thirty am, You're gonna I'm gonna wake up, and
I'm gonna think it was just.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
A nightmare, you know that.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Like, and then finally when I'm up and just kind
of starting to move around, but I'm feeling half dead,
at around seven thirty eight o'clock, I'm gonna realize, yeah,
that we just blew a chance to beat one of
the best teams down two studs and in a game
that we were down thirteen and wobbling.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
I'll say that's a tamer Dan Hurly than what we
watched and heard last year.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
I couldn't put in the part where you ripped up
the stat sheet when someone was asking him about the
numbers and started laughing at them because you couldn't hear
the person speaking.

Speaker 5 (00:46):
So it wouldn't have made a lot of sense.

Speaker 6 (00:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (00:48):
Yeah, but it's also early. It's also early in the season.
It's improvement early in the season.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
There was actually some great college basketball last night, including
my wine I just coming up a little bit short
against Alabama ninety to eighty six. Arizona did win over
Yukon last night. In college hoops seventy one sixty seven.
The Huskies don't play again until the twenty seventh, So
is that Are they gonna really plan on Thanksgiving?

Speaker 5 (01:14):
Softy said yes in Palm Desert.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Oh, I'll be damn hight well happy Thanksgiving Fighting Sprinkles,
It's Chuck buck Ashley with you as we get things
started here at seven o'clock on a Thursday. Before we
get to Softy, let us go through your headlines. They
are brought to you by Frost Brewed Corps Light Choose
Chill Seahawks Titans this Sunday at ten o'clock. We'll get

(01:38):
an update from Greg Bell at eight o'clock about Gray's
Abel's knee, But the Seahawks a thirteen and a half
point favorite going into that game on the road against
a one to nine football team. Tonight, the Buffalo Bills
are taking on the Houston Texans, who are still without
c J.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Stroud.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
So that's your Thursday night football game to get things
started this week. The Cincinnati Bengals of course play this
week as well, and Cincinnati might have a new quarterback.
Joe Burrow is at full practice this week as the
Bengals get ready to host the new England Patriots. As
a matter of fact, there's a report suggesting he's healthier

(02:16):
than his backup Joe Flacco. So Joe Burrow, believe it
or not, who we thought might have been lost for
the season with a toe injury at the beginning of
the year, might be healthy enough to start this Sunday
against the Patriots. College football Husky's taken on UCLA. We'll
certainly talk about that with Softy and the Crakenner in
Chicago tonight to take on the Blackhawks and the red

(02:39):
hot Connor Benard. So we'll talk about that later on
in the program as well. But right now, strake up
the band.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Uh oh huh oh? Did we do another? We have
another collabro last night?

Speaker 6 (02:51):
No, I'm just tired. It's gonna happen in my age, man,
come on every now and then.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah, you're wearing down a little bit.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
You know, I might need to call your boy Dotgler
maybe figure that out.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah, I bet you do have sleep apnea? Are you
snoring complaining?

Speaker 6 (03:07):
Uh? Hang on, hey, honey, do I snore?

Speaker 7 (03:11):
He says, yes, yeah, I could. Okay, is the dog
that I think needs to see doctor Kugler?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (03:17):
Does he work on animals too.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
I don't he works on you?

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (03:21):
It's true.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Yeah, I'll look into it. I'll make a call. I'll
see what I can do.

Speaker 6 (03:27):
Let me know.

Speaker 7 (03:29):
I mean, he might be able to make the entire
KJR lineup sleep better.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
We could all use it. I'll tell you that much.

Speaker 6 (03:35):
Right, you can all do a sleep study together.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
It's a grumpy lot. I mean, I'm telling you a
grumpy group of humans.

Speaker 7 (03:41):
Just all jam into a hotel room somewhere and just,
you know, give one of those California Kings or whatever
the hell they're called.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
We should do a sleepover. It's time for a KJR sleepover.

Speaker 7 (03:52):
I was gonna say, last time you guys had a
real true sleepover, buddies come over.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
You pitch a tent in the back. Are you stay
up all night eating?

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Weird pitching tents.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
That's a long time ago for that. But yeah, I
think I mean crashed at a buddy's house with others
within the last ten years of my life probably, Yeah.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
Bucket by the way, when I stayed oh yeah, last year,
actually put a tent up.

Speaker 8 (04:21):
Oh you mean like a camping tent. Okay, good, I
didn't know. I didn't know how your buddy's getting. Hey,
we don't.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
That's how eyebrows. No, you said it, not me, Roll
up out there, roll.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
Up, you thought it creepy, says.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
A right.

Speaker 7 (04:45):
Uh, well, as longer is left of this segment, speaking.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Of Boner's, Speaking of Boner's, how excited are you over
Josh Naylor yesterday?

Speaker 7 (04:55):
Boy, the first thing you thought, I said when you
said Boners is Mark James selling Boner pills and sandwiches
on his radio.

Speaker 8 (05:01):
Show, whispering them, whispering sweet, nothing's in our ears.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
Getting the group chat. Yeah, he's a turkey.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
He's not invited to the sleepholes, not doing that.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
Oh god.

Speaker 7 (05:15):
I was very excited, very very excited about Josh Naylor.
You know, I don't know, man. I guess I was
kind of one of the people that expected it to happen.
There was a small small part of you that was
dreading it not happening. I guess because sometimes things happen.
But I was. I could not have imagined, guys, the alternative,
which is him not being here next year, right, I mean,

(05:37):
for a baseball team that is so timid when it
comes to free agency and you know, doling out money
in free agency and long term contracts. I mean, I
think a lot of people in the industry were a
little bit surprised at the five years, for example, But
I'm totally fine with that, right Like, you know, the
guy can hit here, you know what he brings to
the table.

Speaker 6 (05:56):
Everybody loves them.

Speaker 7 (05:57):
He's a great clubhouse presence, he likes, actually enjoys hitting
at T Mobile Park, which what kind of weirdo enjoys
hitting at te Mobile Park? He does, And you're gonna
worry about what kind of contract you gotta pay him
in two thousand and thirty, right at eighteen and a
half million, when what is that tenth right now in baseball?

(06:19):
I think the average per year for first basement and
in five years it might not even be in the
top thirty or top twenty in baseball. You know who
knows where that contract is in twenty thirty. So I
loved it. Good for them, but they can't be done.
They got more holes to fill, and I hope that
they can fill them.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Oh, I give you credit because I remember listening to
the Softy and Dick Fane radio program.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
You were on this very early about.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
To extend this guy, sign this guy I don't think
you were as early as Bucky, but you were on
it very early.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Jeez, well I was again, you're right there, you're right there.
I mean, you're only like a year behind.

Speaker 8 (06:54):
I was wanting them to trade for him, sign him,
extend him back when he was like with Cleveland.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
I wanted him when he was an embryo. You did.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Then you win winner, snoway, I take that back, softie.

Speaker 6 (07:06):
Want I've got moles and hospitals all over the country.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
Lucky wanted him in his past life.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
You had them all the way up in Canada. Your
mole was up in Canada.

Speaker 7 (07:14):
I did make sense, I got I got agents all
over the place, man, I bet you do. Actually, now
it's a phenomenal deal for them. It's a great deal
for him, you know. I mean just think about this
dude's life lately, right, I mean, the guy gets traded
to a contender, he goes to Game seven of the ALCS,
almost goes to the World Series, has a baby, and
now he's got ninety.

Speaker 6 (07:35):
Million in his in his pocket. So must be nice,
be nice, man? Bet him?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
All right, Well, let's let's talk.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
Let me ask you guys a question real quick.

Speaker 7 (07:44):
A fight if you don't mind, well for questions getting
tossed around, like, uh, is this enough?

Speaker 6 (07:50):
Right? If this is what we say, all they do.

Speaker 7 (07:54):
You know, they made the deal for the bullpen arm
from the Dodgers the other day. Uh, they brought it
hoppy obviously, you who knows what kind of effect it
impacts those deals will have. I think a lot of
times guys probably agree that they make deals like they
made the last couple of days for some relievers, and
they don't even really register on the radar, Like when
the Mariners traded for Bizardo what was it, middle of

(08:16):
twenty three, I think it was with Baltimore.

Speaker 6 (08:18):
Whatever, right, nobody even really said anything.

Speaker 7 (08:21):
I was like, okay, whatever, And then two years later
the guy is phenomenal for them. Obviously he had the
hiccup in Game seven, but I'd say we all agree
that he was really good for them this year, especially
in the second half of the year. I'd be curious
to see what kind of role those players play. But
I do think right field, I do think second base,
I do think DH and I do think third or
all positions that you're going to have to try and address,

(08:43):
at least over the offseason. I'd like to see them
at even a little more starting pitching depth, to be
totally honest with you, compared to what they've had in
years past, it's not I think good enough right now, especially.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
If guys get banged up.

Speaker 7 (08:54):
But are we totally now content if we get to
early April and this is it of significance.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Well, that long list of yours is not theirs. There's
this very short compared to yours.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Yeah, uh no.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
I think I think they're gonna try to get Polanco
or Suarez, and I wouldn't expect too much else.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Honestly, I wouldn't expect too much else.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
Are you okay with that?

Speaker 3 (09:15):
I think that after what they did a year ago,
I mean, we've already had.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
A better off season than we had last off season.

Speaker 6 (09:21):
It's all.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
I mean, we're not even the Thanksgiving and we've already
beaten that. So since it worked out last year where
they actually made their significant moves at the deadline to
address the holes that they had, and they addressed them aggressively,
I think they really liked that blueprint. I think they're
going to try to bring back Polanco or Suarez. I
think they will add something, but it's not gonna be

(09:45):
some laundry list that they're gonna check off that's gonna
make everybody happy. I think for the most part they
told us that. I think for the most part, they're
just going to try to run it back.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Which I'm alright with. Yeah, Yeah, I'm alright with it. Yeah,
I'm fine with that too.

Speaker 8 (09:57):
I mean, I don't think you necessarily need to do
anything in right field. I think hopefully robust is healthy.
And then I liked things about Canzone. There's still his
room for improvement there. Obviously. I think second base you
got to you can give some of these youngsters cold
young you know, bliss, we'll be back. You get some opportunities,
give them some opportunities. I do think you have to

(10:17):
address something else, but that's where I'm with Chuck. I
think if you go out, if you can get Polonko
to come back, that could be an opportunity. At third
It didn't work out this year, but it doesn't mean
it couldn't. He was recovering from an injury in spring training,
so he never really got off on a good foot there.
But at a minimum, he fills your dhrol like you
did this year, and then yeah, you can still kind

(10:38):
of tinker with that. See if you have any young
guys rise to the occasion. If not, then you still
have the trade deadline.

Speaker 7 (10:43):
It's like it's kind of like on draft day for
the Seahawks, right like when the Hawks have like the
fifteenth pick in the draft or whatever, excuse me, and
we look at all these projected well, you can just
cross all those guys off because they're not taking any.

Speaker 6 (10:54):
Of those guys.

Speaker 7 (10:55):
Right on draft day, all those projected first round here
is all those mocks. You know, whoever's got this guy
going fifth, team, that guy going fifteen, anybody between ten
and thirty, just cross them off. There's no way the
Hawks will get any of those guys. It'll be somebody
nobody's ever heard of, or they'll trade down. So you know,
you think about like Schwarber for example, that DH forget
about it, Kyle Tucker, forget about it. Even like Okamoto

(11:16):
at third or you know, Murakami. You know, I'd love
to know how much interest they have in those Japanese guys.
I mean, my god, I mean they've got, you know,
great connections obviously in their organization with Japan. So those
would be names that I would look at But I'm
kind of with you. I just feel like, just check, check, check.
There's no way they'll sign any of those guys. So
let's go down the list and see what kind of deals.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Like I would have loved to have Murakami. So I
don't rule it out, but I don't count on it either.
All right, let's talk some dogs. They'll play UCLA this Saturday,
actually a big ten rival, that's a.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Rival that we have a little bit of history with.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
Do you want to see history?

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Do you want to see Jonah Coleman or do you
want to see more of this Jordan Washington kid getting
the ball?

Speaker 7 (11:57):
Well, I mean, look, I just think it's important for
these guys to figure out what the hell they're doing
on the road before the season ends. I mean, can
you imagine if the Huskies go on the road on
Saturday and get beat and look sloppy again, this is
going to be now two years with Jetfish where they
have not been able to figure out what the hell
they're doing away from Husky Stadium. Right, they would have

(12:18):
the one win over Wazoo and then they would have
the great second half against Maryland and that's pretty much
about it, right as far as the road goes, and
all they did the entire offseason talking about jet now
is talk about well, you know, we did all these
sleep studies, and we called doctor Coogler and we dealt
with the airlines and we figured out, you know, how
big are players' asses are, and how they fit in

(12:40):
the seats and should they all be first class seats?

Speaker 6 (12:42):
And what kind of food are they eating?

Speaker 7 (12:44):
And I called Mike McDonald and went on a camping
trip with him and we b lob it and nothing
worked right. So I think they got to figure this out, man,
because it's hard to take these guys seriously if.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
They're not able to travel.

Speaker 7 (12:56):
I mean, how can you take anybody seriously as even
a contender for any thing in the Big ten if
they don't show up on the road. So that number
one is for me on Saturday. Number two, they've lost
nine to ten against UCLA at the Rolls Ball ten
of eleven if you include the lost to Ohio State
and Dwayne Haskins and the actual Roles bawl six years ago.
And then number three, yeah, I mean I'd love to

(13:18):
see Jordan Washington get a few more carries and see
what the kid can do. Because you think it would
get you excited about the future. But then you throw
in the idea that, well, the transfer portal, the coaching movement,
you know, back in the day, five even even five
years ago, right, Chuck, we could look at Jordan Washington
or any young player on any roster in college football

(13:38):
and say, well, we're not having a great year, but
at the very least we got a young core that's
all guaranteed to come back.

Speaker 6 (13:44):
We can't say that anymore. Yeah, I hate it, right,
I hate it. Man.

Speaker 7 (13:49):
It's like, guys, can you imagine if the twenty twelve
Seahawk team was a college football team in twenty twenty
five and all those guys could leave, all his young
dudes that we were so fired up about after that
game with Atlanta. Man, they came so close to making
the NFC Championship, and then a bunch of guys take off.
So look, I mean, I'm not saying I'm spending the

(14:11):
entire you know, twenty four to seven thinking about it,
but there's gonna be movement, and depending on coaching changes,
there could be a lot of movements. So I think
right now I'm just focused on just trying to get
these guys to maybe eight or nine wins, and I
think that'd be a hell of an accomplishment after the
roster that Jed inherited when he got hired.

Speaker 8 (14:30):
How are you feeling about I mean, just the idea
of the health of the offense. I mean, we've seen
this offense explode and then we've seen it sputter at times,
typically when they're on the road, like you were talking about.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
But health wise, are they gonna be okay? Are they
gonna be able to go put up some numbers?

Speaker 6 (14:43):
Yeah? I think Coleman, I think is gonna play Denzel.
I don't know. Lannon.

Speaker 7 (14:48):
Hatchet's got a cast on his snapping hand that's got
to be figured out. So obviously they had some issues
with handing its center. As far as the shotgun snaps,
I mean, they're playing produced BUCkies, so they could get.

Speaker 6 (15:00):
Away with it.

Speaker 7 (15:01):
I mean they're awful, you know. I actually kind of
feel bad for him. They've lost like seventeen games in
a row and the Big Ten. They haven't won a
Big Ten games since the end of the twenty twenty
three season. And I don't know how much of a
different animal this will be. I mean, it will be different.
They're not playing obviously, you know, Ohio State or Georgia,

(15:21):
but they're playing a team that's got some talent. They
just have not been able to figure it out, kind
of like the Huskies have, and they're gonna be getting
a little bit of a break. Two of the last
three teams the Bruins have played have been the number
one and number two team in America in Indiana and
Ohio State. Right, So, just like Wisconsin a couple weeks ago,
you can kind of argue that maybe UCLA is getting

(15:43):
a little bit of a reprieve here against U Dubs.
So I think the spread's way too high. I'd probably
take the Bruins and the points if I were bet
in this game, which I'm not. Nico scares me just
because there's nobody really like him in the conference, and
I don't know if the Huskies have faced a quarterback
even close to him athletically.

Speaker 6 (15:59):
But yeah, I mean, weird stuff, man.

Speaker 7 (16:02):
Husky fans will tell you weird stuff happens down there
at the Rolls Bowl, just like he used to have
weird stuff happening at Stanford and Arizona State and Arizona.
So just the history of this place kind of creeps
me out.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Man. Those Stanford people are just weird.

Speaker 7 (16:16):
They are very very weird people. Yeah, not even actual humans,
like some other kind of category. Not sure what it is.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
Let me use the last couple of minutes we got
here to ask you this because I'm very curious, you know,
the man. When Sark goes on Texas radio and says,
I am I'm not going anywhere.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Stop spreading rumors. Do you believe him?

Speaker 6 (16:37):
I do? I do believe them, Okay, I do, yeah,
because I.

Speaker 7 (16:40):
Think that's I don't remember him saying anything like that
when he was at U Dub before he went to USC.

Speaker 6 (16:45):
And don't forget USC.

Speaker 7 (16:46):
The guy's from California, right, I mean, just like Klein
de Borg going to Alabama.

Speaker 6 (16:50):
That sucks.

Speaker 7 (16:51):
But I think you get it. You know, like, all right,
you're going from U Dub to Alabama, and if you're
Steve Sarkisian, you're going to go coach back home at
USC right where you're from. So I think all that
makes sense. But yeah, I mean I think I think
Steve Starkeysan when he comes out and says I'm not
going anywhere.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
When Dan Lanning comes out and.

Speaker 7 (17:07):
Says there's a zero percent chance of me leaving Oregon,
which I know, you know, gives Bucky, you know, a
little tingly feeling, right like hearing that, that's the kind
of stuff I kind of would like to hear Jed say,
to be honest with you, honestly, I mean, talks about
you know, all the players and how great they are,
and then like fourth or fifth on the list, it's oh,

(17:28):
we love Seattle, right, So I'd love to see him
be a little more adamant, hell even lie to me
for God's sakes, right, But yeah, no, I believe Sark
when he says that.

Speaker 6 (17:37):
You believe him, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
I don't know him as well as you. I don't
know if I believe anybody.

Speaker 7 (17:43):
Well, that's exactly it. I think everybody in the end
is full of it, including us. You know, I don't
even trust him bother talking.

Speaker 8 (17:50):
Oh you can trust me, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
I think I can trust you.

Speaker 7 (17:55):
And you say everybody's full of crap that that I trust?
I mean, but keeping I haven't worked directly with Sark
in how many years now, We're going back what ten years,
ten eleven years, so you know, I saw him a
little bit at the Sugar Bowl. Obviously, he's he's been
up and down with his life. I don't know if
you guys know that he actually married Malex Smith's sister

(18:17):
and they've been together now for a while. I think
they were gonna get divorced and got back together, but
went through his fight with alcoholism and very public and
all that stuff. But yeah, I believe him when he
says he's staying there.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
All right, we'll promote something. What do we got going
on on the program?

Speaker 7 (18:31):
Today Show Today with Hockey, the black Hawks and Connor Badard.
No relation to Eric Badard coming up this afternoon at least,
I don't think they're related. Maybe like Eric Bard, Connor
Bodard is only going to play like two fifths.

Speaker 6 (18:46):
Of the game to night against the cracket. That'd be nice.
I'd go for that.

Speaker 7 (18:50):
So that's coming up, face off at five Mike Holmgrin
gonna join us from the five twenty Bar and Grill
and then more from Rick Neuheisel. Obviously at three twenty
curtis a taco time. Why don't you guys get your
ass to the five twenty one of these days and
hang out with us?

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Yeah, that'd be fun.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
Yeah, it would be Yeah, I know your naps are
over by then.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
So yeah, we want to do it. We gotta do it.

Speaker 6 (19:10):
Come on by, Ashley, Chuck Buck, come on by.

Speaker 5 (19:12):
Almost went last week.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
But yeah, I wanted to do a little bit of
a Thursday tradition.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
But you're right, I need your tradition.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
I go to my little local bar and watch Thursday
night football at my local bar.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
But you break, I'll go to your local bar one
thousand percent. You're absolutely right about that.

Speaker 6 (19:28):
What's your local bar? Do you want to give out
the name?

Speaker 2 (19:31):
It's the Kitchen? Okay, yeah, so you'll be there every Thursday.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Shut up, all right, I'll talk to you later. All right, there,
there he is, David Softy Mall joining us here on.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
The radio program.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
We're gonna play some Factor fiction at seven thirty five
BUCkies pick today and we will hear from Sark as
a matter of fact, find out how adamant he is
that he is not leaving Austin, Texas next Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
So ninety three point three kh.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
A r f M just decided that, just figured it out.
Twenty years after you hit the scene with Destiny's Child.

Speaker 5 (20:09):
Yeah, well done.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Not as much as bucket when it comes to Factor Fiction.
We'll play that at seven thirty five. But you keep
on trying Beyonce, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
One in the one successful song.

Speaker 8 (20:20):
In the cam.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
Yeah, maybe you ought to just give it, give this
music thing a run.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Knowles. When's the last time she's been called Knowles?

Speaker 6 (20:27):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Noles?

Speaker 5 (20:29):
Probably not since twenty ten?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
So what I'm gonna call her from?

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Knowles just decided, No, I'm going to go to the
Noles concert tonight.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah yeah, are you guys going?

Speaker 5 (20:39):
It's like, uh, meet you there?

Speaker 2 (20:43):
All right?

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Factor Fiction now in three minutes. But I do want
to play this audio. I asked Softy about it. We
did spend time yesterday or I did on Reckless at
Breakfast kind of calling Sark out Desmond Howard. He didn't
call Desmond Howard out. I'll tell you where they came from.
Desmond Howard did this video at his home where he

(21:04):
was taking out the garbage, and I guess he'd talked
to somebody that he felt was a great source, and
he revealed on a video that he put on obviously
social media, that Sark was not happy with Texas, and
Texas wasn't happy with Sark, and that they were going
to part ways at the end of this season. So
we talked about it yesterday and I kind of carried

(21:25):
angrily this thought of if you're not happy at Texas,
where are you going to be happy? If you don't
think that that's a destination job as a college football coach,
where on earth are you going to be happy? Well,
we should be fair and play. Sark's response to the rumor.
This was yesterday on Texas Radio.

Speaker 9 (21:45):
I'd like to comment on something before I get into
our team, something that has been bothering me now over
the past few weeks, and that is people reporting or
insinuating there's a possibility I could lead the University of Texas,
and that is absolutely false and untrue. I'm not going anywhere.
Can we please stop putting things out there that you

(22:05):
have absolutely zero evidence on, And then can we please
stop retweeting, putting it back out there as if it's true,
as if it's the gospel. So moving forward, when some
Joe Blow decides to put something on social media out there,
we all don't run with it. Can we all agree
on that? And if you have a question about my

(22:25):
future with the University of Texas, ask me, ask Christelle Connie.
He'll be more than happy to take your call so
that we can sect the record street so we can
focus on our football team, which is really what we
should be doing.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
Everybody good with that.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
It's a great response to it all. I'll say that
Softy believes him.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
I don't. After Kaitlin Debora, I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
I would ever believe anybody U when it comes to this,
And he has a little bit of history with it.
I think there was a time where he went on
with Mitch right here on this radio station and said
something very similar to that before he left, like two
hours later to leave Washington. Now, Softy sort of explained,
you know that he's okay with his deciding to go

(23:07):
to USC. But nonetheless, I mean, I mean, that's as
well as you can craft a response to rumors. And
yet I still don't believe him one hundred percent.

Speaker 8 (23:17):
I don't believe one hundred percent. But I'm with you,
I don't know if we can in today's climb. And
I'll just say to me if if I mean it's
different because it's Texas to what you were talking about yesterday,
is like if if you can't, if the grass isn't
green enough on your side of the fence. When you're
the coach at Texas, What the heck are we? What

(23:37):
are we playing in here? What is this game? So
to me, it's when he comes out n adamantly he
says that it's like, Okay, I part of me can
believe it, because really, are you going up anywhere from Texas?
I mean, is there Isn't that a blue blood football program?
To me, that makes a little bit of sense.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
So maybe the NFL maybe, I mean that's where he's
been linked, is to the National Football League. But I
mean it's a great response. I'll just repeat if the man.
It just feels like we're in this mode in college football.
Of boy, the grass is really green below my feet,
but is that greener.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
Over what kind of green do they have there?

Speaker 3 (24:14):
I mean, if you're not satisfied, I don't know who
would be. Let's play some factor fiction.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
Where's that to go?

Speaker 10 (24:19):
Glad you're with us, it's your shot at our weekly
thousand bucks and the ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's
factor fiction, probably presented by Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel
were every Day Feels Lucky.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Fact door fiction.

Speaker 10 (24:34):
Is on sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM,
pick it up.

Speaker 8 (24:41):
Bugging well, I'll tell you what. I'll do my research
this morning, and you got to witness it. I got
really excited about one game and then realized I already
picked that one on Monday.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
So now you're doubly excited about your Monday.

Speaker 8 (24:53):
I'm not as doubly excited because but I still feel
pretty good about this one.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
What kind of it's I'm gonna take.

Speaker 8 (25:00):
The Falcons over the Saints simply because I think the
Saints are not very good now. The Falcons just lost
Michael Pennix and Kirk Cousins didn't look great in his
filling in for him last week. But you just have
to hand the ball off to b Jean Robinson and
then when you do need to pass, just pass it
to him, you know what I mean, Just you know,
and then you have a you know, pits there tight end.

(25:21):
I think Drake London's gonna be out as well. But
I do think I think you have enough weapons to
beat a very bad.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
New Orleans Saints team.

Speaker 8 (25:29):
So I'm gonna go ahead and take the Falcons minus
one and a half on the road at the New
Orleans Saints.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Factor fiction players already get angry when we double up
picks because they want to play two different games, not
the same game.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
I can't even imagine if one person doubled.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
Up, what if you picked? What if you had picked
the opposite pick you made on.

Speaker 8 (25:47):
But I guarantee I go one. I actually can't. They
could have tied and lost both of them.

Speaker 5 (25:52):
Yeah they could have.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
All right, So is it one and a half? One
and a half? Yep, and it's at New Orleans. It
is at New Orleans.

Speaker 5 (25:58):
Yeah, two one and a half point games this week?

Speaker 6 (26:00):
Yeah, right.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Bucky's saying, Hey, I know they're down to Pennix.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
I know they're down to London. I know they've been
struggling as of late. I know they're going on the road.
But the Saints are just bad. So he's going to
go ahead and give these Saints yep, a point. No,
they're getting a point, getting a point and a half
on the road against the New Orleans Saints. So if
you agree with that selection, you're going to text fact

(26:24):
to four nine four to five to one. Disagree, text
fiction to four nine four to five one. If you're right,
we enter your name into a drawing for one thousand
dollars in cash at the end of the week, all
provided by Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel. Ten thousand dollars
goes to the person that gets the most factor Fiction
picks correct this year. But right now, just focus on

(26:46):
this game, the Atlanta Falcons getting a point and a
half at New Orleans against the Saints. If you agree,
text fact to four nine four to five to one. Disagree,
text fiction to four nine four to five one. Lucky
Eagle Casino and Hotel now has twenty four hour gaming
every Friday and Saturday. For more information, go to Luckyeagle

(27:07):
dot com. Mark James and Christopher Kidd will make the
next selection this morning at eleven thirty five. Coming up next,
we've already replayed some of the Jerry Depoto conversation. I
want to replay a little click from him in his
conversation with us yesterday that I found truly fascinating. It's
about the future of the MS right here on Sports

(27:29):
Radio ninety three point three KJRFM. Alright, twelfth Man Roundtable
coming your way from eight to nine o'clock this morning.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Hugh Milling, Greg Bell. They've got only their.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Best analysis prepared for you today, not second rate analysis today.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Nope. I had to chat with him mark to heart.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
I'm like, you guys really just need to start bringing
your absolute best hey game.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Yeah yeah, so yeah, that's what they've decided to do.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
Good for you for Yeah, a pre setond straight.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Yeah, have leadership, Yeah, you know, trying to provide that.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Every once in a while around here, and it's kind
of wh people into shape when you have to. So
Greg Hugh eight o'clock this morning to talk about the
Seahawks and the Titans. Maybe a little bit on the
rams from last week as well, and don't forget we're
playing Beat Bucky today at nine o'clock. Yesterday, perhaps the
highlight of the program. I think the highlight of the
program was the three of our charismas. Yeah, but nonetheless,

(28:28):
we did have Jerry Depoto live on the program at
nine o'clock. He had a lot of good things to say.
Obviously very excited about Josh Naylor. He did kind of
map out an off season that I don't know if
he heard everything you wanted to hear about how aggressive
they're going to be in the off season again, kind
of doubling down on that they're kind of running it back,

(28:49):
hopefully with the team that they finished last season with,
a team that they loved, and feels like they can
go over the top with this group. But there was
one thing at the end Bucky asked about the prospects
and who might be making an impact in twenty twenty
six that I found particularly interesting. I think you will too.

(29:10):
Here's Jerry talking about which one of these prospects from
their number one rated class could actually contribute to the
cause of winning a World Series in twenty twenty six.

Speaker 11 (29:22):
You know, I think widely regarded as our top prospect
is Colt Emerson and finished last year in Tacoma at
the very end of the season, had a fabulous year.
He's just twenty years old and will play virtually all
of next year at twenty. He's a special player we
feel like has a chance to be foundational part of
what we do, and I would expect that whether it's

(29:43):
on opening Day or at some point next season, he
is a part of our mix, which is why you know,
you provide opportunity for those young players or avenues for
them to get those opportunities, and you know Colt will
be one of those players there are other players I'm
excited about who ma not show up in the big
leagues but are going to be pretty close. The guy

(30:04):
like Kate Anderson, who was the third pick in last
year's draft. We've not seen him pitch a professional inning yet,
so we're all eagerly anticipating seeing him in the spring
and watching his Mariner debut of sorts. I would love
to see what kind of progress we get from Jerangelo
sanj who ended last year in Double A. Obviously, the

(30:25):
switch pitch makes him famous, but what comes out of
his hand, especially as a right hand or, is pretty special,
and I think it's reasonable to believe that he could
show up as a contributor in the big leagues next year. Obviously,
some guys that touched the show for us last year,
like Cole Young and Ben Williamson and Logan Evans, we
feel like they will continue to play a role in

(30:47):
what we do, and we do have a fun system
to watch. It's whether it's the kids that are going
to start in a ball and Everett where the kids
that are going to.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Start in Tacoma.

Speaker 11 (30:57):
I think no matter what level you go with our system,
you're going to find a player who has a chance
to play in All Star Games, which is exciting.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Yeah. I found that very interesting too, especially the Emerson part.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
Bucky.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
I mean, we went into last spring training, if you recall,
and there was this name Cole Young that kept popping up,
and I think they really did have the idea of
you're gonna have to earn it, but if you show
us that you're the best second basement in the organization
right now, you can win a job right out of camp.
Now he didn't do that. He wasn't our starting opening

(31:33):
day second basement, but I think that they were going
to take the same approach with this ridiculously talented Colt Emerson.
If you show us you're our best third baseman, then
we'll find we'll put you there. But he's really got
to prove it at spring training, and I doubt that
he will. I think I said this earlier this week.

(31:54):
I think Ben Williamson probably gonna end up being our
starting third basement if not Gino, and with the idea
that Emerson can take that job from him at some
point during the year if Williamson's not performing, and then
eventually cold Emerson, who's rated the ninth prospect in all
of baseball right now will be our shortstop taking over

(32:14):
for JP I think next season at the beginning of
the year.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Yeah, I think that is.

Speaker 8 (32:20):
So you're looking at what's possible in spring training combined
with what they're hoping for long term. The best of
all worlds would be the dude shows up. I mean,
he looked like a beast last year for being eighteen
years old or whatever he was.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
I mean, he's put together.

Speaker 8 (32:35):
The dude doesn't miss too many days in the gym,
and so he knows what is in front of him.
And yet the main objective is that's going to be
the dude playing shortstop after this season, yes, or possibly
in this season if something was to happen, or.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
We've got a lot of talent shortstops in our prospect
yeah you know group, Yeah, you got multiple guys.

Speaker 8 (32:57):
This Celestian kid, he's not too terrible, be far behind that,
and so the only one can play. But you could
possibly be nice to have a couple of shortstops roman
both sides of the middle.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
But we'll see.

Speaker 8 (33:08):
As of right now, I do think that its front
runner is Ben Williamson. I think there's a reason why
he was closer. He's he's not as young, but he's
not as talented with the stick by any stretch imagination.
I mean Colt Emerson last year in a very limited
time up in Triple A, I think when he played
in like sixty six games, but he raked. And so
to be that age and to hit the way that

(33:29):
he has coming out of high school, he's a talented individual.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
That's a big thing.

Speaker 8 (33:34):
To end up being nineteen twenty years old and playing
in the big leagues, that's no joke. But I think
they're going to give them the opportunity. But ultimately he's
going to be the shortstop the air apparent there.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
I mean, you're usually like you're airing on the side
of caution. You don't want to put too much expectations
on a nineteen twenty twenty year old prospect. And for
Jerry Depoto to say yesterday on November nineteenth, that there's
a very good chance he will be a part of
the twenty twenty sixth season, that's that's putting it out there. Yeah,
that is that is stepping forward right there.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
Exciting.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Yeah, it is exciting. Yeah, nobody wants him rushed, but
we also can't wait to see just how gifted this
young man is, and the only way to see that
is watching him play every day.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
All right.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Coming up next, hear on the radio program It's our
twelfth Man Roundtable.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
We do it every Thursday.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Hugh mellon Greg Bell always bringing the right attitude on
Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.
