Speaker 1 (00:02):
You're own for Husky Football, probably present our weekly visit
with a voice of the Dogs, Cam Cleveland. Oh Purple,
let's go rut to you by Warrior Injury Log, Battle Tested.
Now here's Chuck and Bug with a former Husky tight
end on Sports Radio ninety three point three kJ R
f M.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Yep, that's true.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
We are going to have Cam Cleveland, a guy that
I typically call my bald headed brother, a ginger brother
at that, but not today.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
And we also are going to have the one and.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Only Softy with us as well, a little Huskies roundtable
for the next hour. A great idea by a Purple
sheet to come up with this. I mean, I've had
the last three days where it's just Ashley and I
won on one, and now I'm going to have an
hour of listening to Softy and can talk trash about
my ducks.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
This should be this tree.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Here comes the pressure. Headex has the snap. He's going
to air it out down the left sell Clodest Davis
down the left side.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
There he does god TOAs Davis, just.

Speaker 5 (01:03):
Touching in sixty two yards TOAs Davis burness Man. And
that's just his fifteenth touch of the air and the
biggest touch of his life. I guess the Oregon Ducks
and the Dogs are a pat away with three oh
seven ago in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Wow, that's wonderful right there, that was great for Cam.
Cam got to witness, Uh, Tony castercmebe going through puberty
right there on the air.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
You picked it it.

Speaker 6 (01:29):
You took the words right out of my mouth. Now
you get to have both myself and Dave and you
know we don't have to be brothers today. I'm it's
is gonna get full ugly. I mean, that's what that's
what you expect if you brought on two crazy old
guys that are now plus fifty and this is what
you're gonna get now.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Yeah, yeah, Softy, what is it that you're gonna bring
to the table? Lot of positivity in the in my direction, I.

Speaker 7 (01:53):
Said November twelfth, twenty twenty two, the day that Tony
castra Cone finally realized he can.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
In Eugene. You stole the line out of my mouth, Bucky.

Speaker 7 (02:04):
I think that's the day that Tony hit puberty and
it happened live on the air at at Austin Stadium
number one, I mean number two.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Uh, I'm just a little bit surprised. Cam Ashley.

Speaker 7 (02:15):
Bucky behind the scenes has been privately telling me how
concerned he is about this game on Saturday. Him fan right,
I mean, he he told me the other day. He's like, look, man,
I'm not I'm not really you know, certain these guys
will show up. They're they're a cocky bunch, a little
arrogant bunch, and you know the way I mean. You know, Bucky,
you told me that Dan Landing gave the whole team

(02:36):
the week off from practice, didn't even think they had
to practice this week for this game against Washington. You're
concerned about their you know, arrogance showing up and Washington
wiping the field with the Ducks on Saturday. So we'll
see if your paranoia has come to fruition on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
There's not there's not an ounce of what you just said.
That's true. I don't think I am. I am not
overly confident.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
I am not. I never I'm more pretty confident though.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
I mean, for what it's worth, I feel like typically
going into this game, this might be a year where I.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Would be and yet I'm not. Still and I don't
You're not.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
A real cocky guy to begin with right, which is
kind of a it's kind of like dichotomy, cam and
ask you because normally you think like the bigger guys,
the intimidating guys would be the kind of cocky ones,
be the bullies. But it's normally the shorter kind of
you know, uh yeah, little you know, uh little man syndrome,
guys that have the cockiness in.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
The the little Jewish fellas.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Yeah, exactly like a little Bucky's.

Speaker 7 (03:31):
Bucky's just a gentle child man, you know, come on, right,
what the hell?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (03:35):
You know, well when by the way, the little Jewish
fella that he's talking about, yeah, you know.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
Yeah, everybody calm down now, but hold on just a minute.
But no, when you're bald and you're tall and you're big,
we just walk around and we just ooze ooh's confidence.
You don't have to sell anybody anything, you just it
just permeates from us in a constant view. And by
the way, my question is going to be is what
is coach Landing's motivating figure this week in the locker room?

(04:01):
Is it a stuffed animal of a husky? Is it
a mini helmet?

Speaker 5 (04:06):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (04:07):
What will it be for you to be able to
see that the motivating factor in that locker room that
coach can be because the stuffed animal just might work.
It might be strong enough for him to be able
to break apart and rip it. But what would be
his speech that you well, I mean that what will
be all over social media that not only did his
scriptwriters write for him, he practiced in the mirror for

(04:28):
an hour in his press conference chair that he always sits,
a nice press conference chair that you send.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
In, by the way, very nice. And and what will
that be?

Speaker 6 (04:35):
What will that be?

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Well, if he's playing off of kind of what he
did with usc that we're going out here for a
Trojan funeral, then he's probably going to say something about
we're going to send these guys over the Rainbow Bridge.

Speaker 7 (04:46):
Yeah, something you know, I see dogs or yeahs huskies
or dogs.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
I get you, I get you.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Keep up soft.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Yeah, this is early for you.

Speaker 7 (04:59):
I just want to know how much adderall on Ridlin
he's going to be on during the game on.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Saturday every time.

Speaker 7 (05:05):
Well, it might be something else, but I don't want
to make any crazy accusations about the guy. I mean,
you know him better than me, Bucky. Is there something
more we should worry about with Dan Lanning, do we
have to call a hotline for this guy or something.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
I don't know if he's intervention necessary. I mean, if
if he ever has a bad season, then yeah, we
probably would have an intervention at this point.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Just do what you do.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
There was one time I showed up to work here
and I may might have still been slightly intoxicated. I
came out afterwards and Purple Sheet goes, Hey, good show,
and I said, I got to let you know I
still might be inebriated, and he goes, I don't care.
I don't care what it takes. That was good radio
and so show. Same thing with Dan Lanning.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Yeah, drunk shows are the best shows. Man.

Speaker 7 (05:44):
I'm totally with you on that. But I mean, look, dude,
here's the deal with with Oregon. No matter what happens
on Saturday, we know what's coming for you guys.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
In the end, it's the end. You will piss your
pants in the biggest game of the year game just.

Speaker 7 (05:54):
Like yeah, just like I was in the Rolls Bowl
a year ago, just like it was in the PAC
twelve Championship a couple of years ago.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
I mean, we all know these guys can't handle.

Speaker 7 (06:02):
I mean, really, a lot of people are talking about
Sam Darnold cam being able to handle the lights when
they're the brightest, you know, in this city. I think
in the PNW, we should be talking about Dan Landing
and the Oregon Ducks not being able to handle the
pressure of a big game, because what have they shown
they can win?

Speaker 4 (06:17):
You know what?

Speaker 7 (06:17):
I'm not being a smart ass here either, honestly, like
what what big game? What real big game? Has Dan
Lanning actually shown he can win? And showing up for
when the lights are the brightest? Because every time I
see this guy on the biggest stages that college football
has to offer, he falls apart.

Speaker 6 (06:36):
I mean, are you going to take credit for? Are
you going to take credit for? I mean, I'm not
even going to argue for what I think that Oregon
is is great because they're let's start with this, but
you take a small amount of credit for what they
did can destroy the Penn State. I mean, is that
a fair conversation or was Penn State just that bad
and destroyed what they are?

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Now?

Speaker 2 (06:56):
They are now we can get credit where.

Speaker 6 (06:57):
Credit is due. I mean, yeah, I'll on the side
of it. They have some talent Okay, let's just be
realistic on that. Okay, they have talent, but I'm not
going to give them any credit until they find a
way to get to the big mountain and get over
the top. That's right, That's just what it is. We're
all measured by this from the sport, and unfortunately, the
last couple of times that I've seen Washington at their

(07:18):
high level and Oregon at their high level, University of
Washington has come out on top. So until they prove it,
there is no conversation.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Well, then by that account, then then this one really
just doesn't matter because we're not really we're not playing
in the same sandbox at this point, right.

Speaker 6 (07:33):
Is that truly how you feel?

Speaker 2 (07:35):
You?

Speaker 6 (07:35):
You feel like this team is head and shoulders above Washington.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
No, no, no, I just mean we're not playing for
the same thing. One's playing the spoiler and the other
still has the opportunity to go play for all the marbles.
I'm not trying to be arrogant one bit. As a
matter of fact, I am certain that coming into Husky
Stadium dinged up, both teams are dinged up, but we're
nobody's coming in full strength at this point in this season.

(08:00):
If you don't go out there and execute, and you
make just a couple bonehead of mistakes that college players make,
I could see a very easy way that they.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Come out on top.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
I mean, there's no part of this that even though
the Huskies aren't playing for a shot in the playoffs,
that they're not going to be coming out here like
their hairs on fire, that they're going to be coming
out with them. They want nothing more than to ruin
the season, and they quite possibly could. I would think
that the more likely probability is that that doesn't happen.
If I had to put money, which I did against

(08:29):
Mark Glenn, he wanted to bet, and so he gave
me a hundred bucks because he took USC straight up
last week. Yeah, well he must he must be, because
he gave he didn't even take any points last week
with USC, and he wants to go straight up with
the Huskies.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
So I put my money where my mouth is.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
At the same time, I'm not overly confident, and I'm
with you, I mean, until you win it all, which
they never have. But it really that's not like it's
an easy thing to do. One team wins it every
single year. You hope that you have good enough teams
year after year where you continue to get bites at
the apple, where you continue to get in to the playoffs,
and then hopefully the ball bounces your way. You don't

(09:06):
make those costly mistakes, and when it comes down to it,
you have a primetime player stepping up. I mean that's
where this is a big game. It's not as big
as even last week's game for the Ducks as far
as you will see, but there's zero chances it's going
to be a letdown game because of the rivalry part
of it. So I mean, I feel like they're going
to I feel like they're going to show up and
they're going to play. It boils down to who's going

(09:28):
to make a bonehead of mistake. Because if it's just flay,
if it's flat out both teams play their A game,
I don't think that this is I don't think that
there's a way that the Huskies win that game if
they both play their A game.

Speaker 7 (09:39):
Well, first of all, just following up on what you
said about what's on the line for both teams, Yes,
you are correct. Oregon is playing for the opportunity to
embarrass themselves. In January, Washington is not, There's no question
about that. I will also say this that you better
start thinking about missing the CFP if you lose this
game on Saturday, Bucky not a guarantee that you guys

(10:01):
make the College Football Playoff. And how embarrassing would that
be to go from number five in the country to
missing the college football Playoff because you lost to an
unranked Washington team at Husky Stadium. I mean, if you
guys lose this one and Dan Lanning loses this all
of a sudden, he's one in four against the Huskies
in this five games against the Dogs, and he's got

(10:22):
a Washington problem if Dan Lanning can't win this thing
on Saturday. And I think the matchup is closer than
a lot of people think. I think Vegas agrees it's
closer than a lot of people think. It's a six
and a half point spread when a lot of people
thought it would be maybe nine and a half, maybe
even ten and a half, kind of like last year's
Pack twelve championship game, or excuse me, two years ago.
I would say this that U dub is much better

(10:43):
than they were a year ago, especially on the offensive
and defensive lines. And I don't know if Oregon is
better than the team that we saw a year ago
with Dylan Gabriel, I mean, obviously you're hoping you're better
than the team that got embarrassed in the first half
against Ohio State and got run the hell out of
the Rose Bowl. That was glorious. Cam enjoyed that. I
know Ashley did as well. But I'm not certain that
Oregon is a better team than they were a year ago.

(11:05):
And I know that Washington's a better team than they
were last year. I also know that you dub is
a totally different team. CAM at home versus on the road.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
I mean, Demon Williams Cam.

Speaker 7 (11:14):
You know this has thrown six interceptions, every single one
of them have come on the road, every single one.
So this is a totally different animal CAM right at
Husky Stadium.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Yeah. No, We're way different. And at least in our wins.
And I give a realistic stat or wins going into
last week, and it carries over forty five plus points
and wins and big ten games seven points and losses
and those are all on the road. So make that
make sense. You see about home cooking. I think that
this team plays well. When I talk about way Washington

(11:45):
does They're gonna play with spoiler alert and I'm gonna
ask this Oregon question for you, Bucky. If you lose
this game at six, do you feel as confident as
being an Ohio State team with two losses making it
and making a run. Because if you win and Michigan
knocks off Ohio State, you could be in the Big
Ten Championship game right back where you were last year.
Win the game or potentially have a remax versus Indiana.

(12:07):
Do you want to be that game? Because Ohio State
put up a pretty good blueprint of what it is
to lose and still win a title. So there are
a lot of situations where whatever you do in this
football game, you might have a shot. Let's to miss
it and win and then all of a sudden or
lose in Husky Stadium. Either way, I don't know there's

(12:27):
an easy answer for it, but to me it is winning.
Winning makes it takes the pain away from everything.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Well yeah, well, win is obviously the bare bones bottom
line of the whole thing. There's I will be cheering
for Ohio State to win. Even with the Ducks win.
I don't care about trying to win the Big Ten
Championship and having to play that extra game that may
or may not hurt you. You might climb up the
rankings a little bit, you win the Big Ten and
possibly even get a bye. Problem with that is you

(12:55):
don't have that week off. I would rather right now
as dinged up as they are. I mean, they're both
tackles are hurt. Their center went out last week. That
is kind of one of the paramount parts of what
this team and how why they're one of the best
running teams in the country is that offensive line.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
I would rather win this game.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
You solidify yourself a spot in the playoffs, You'll probably
get a home game there, and you get that week
off instead of playing in the conference championship game.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
But really, all of that to me is moot.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
I'm under the impression if you don't win this game
because you dubb lost that game to Wisconsin, I was
wanting you guys to win the game against Wisconsin, then
you'd still be ranked, and then this game would possibly
be all. There would be a whole heck of a
lot more on the table. You guys win, you probably
in the playoffs. Even if we were to lose against you,
being ranked, then there would be a way in which

(13:43):
we could still maybe slip in the back doors as
in that large bid, because it wouldn't hurt as much,
it wouldn't be looked at as quite as a bad
of a loss. But I don't think it's that bad.
I think the Huskies are better than they were last year.
I think Demon Williams is starting to figure out, especially
the last couple of weeks, what it's like to be
the quarterback and do the things that you're supposed to do. Now,
the inconsistency typically on the road is a concern. I

(14:06):
would think it's been a concern for me every single
week when to come in here and talk about how
they've played, and it's inconsistent on the road. For the
most part, against good opponents, they don't have to worry
about that they're getting to play at home. I think
there is something with that when it comes to the rivalry.
How you coach your team up against a rivalry game
against a team that there's more on the table than

(14:28):
just a win and a loss. There's the bragging rights
and the King of the Northwest type of a thing.
How you coach your team up to be fired up,
but not so fired up that you go out there
and you're baking careless mistakes that you're not real under control.
I'll say this, and watching basically every snap that they've
played this year, this is a more of a disciplined
team that I've seen out of them when they've played

(14:50):
some games. And you're right, Penn State, you can look
at Penn State sucking. Now, they did not suck. I
think were they the third ranked team at the time.
I don't trust the rankings all that much. I think
the rank kings are nonsense early in the year when
we don't know who they are. But they were a
better team than they turned into after their quarterback got
hurt and they ended up firing their coach. It was
that duck game that kind of sent them, pushed them
over over the edge of it.

Speaker 7 (15:11):
They buy no, they have to une Nevada. They beat FIU,
and they beat Villanova. Before they played you, they were
a nobody, well nobody played anybody in the paper Tiger.
They were totally overrated. They never should have been where
they were, and they proved it in the next seven games.
All Right, you keep telling yourself that you beat the

(15:32):
legitimate team when you didn't.

Speaker 4 (15:34):
They stick. There's a lot of reasons to talk.

Speaker 7 (15:36):
About Oregon being a really good football team and you
go into Happy Valley and beating a crappy football team
that fired their head coach by six is not one
of them.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
If you if you think you Dubb would have went
to Happy Valley.

Speaker 7 (15:48):
And I think they would. And we're not talking about
We're not talking about you, Duble. We're talking we're talking
about the Ducks, talking about their resume, talking about Oregon
going to Penn State and you sitting here and Duck
fans sitting here trying to act like that was a
quality win when it wasn't. Again, there's a lot of
re Bucky, I got no problem complimenting you guys for

(16:09):
the job that you've done.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Right.

Speaker 7 (16:11):
Noah Whittington is a great player, Kenyon Sadik, I'm really
concerned about this guy. I know Bucky is on Saturday.
Love what I've seen from Dante Moore, no doubt about it.
But if you're going to put together a resume of
why Oregon is a quality football team, going to Penn
State and beating Penn State is no longer on the
on the on the board, Take it off. Find a
different way to compliment your team.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Well, it's just a part of a company. It's not.
It's not.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
It's like that, Bucky.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
I think that they are getting the credit that they
deserve for that win, exactly what they deserve. Where it
looked good at the time, but it wasn't a whole
heck of a lot now after the entirety of the thing.

Speaker 6 (16:49):
Now, let me break that. Let no go ahead, go ahead,
you can take credit through a win. I think the
Iowa win truthfully is better than the benn State win.
You kidding, I would be I would be ringing the
bell or whatever flap in your wing about the Iowa
win in an absolute monsoon down for going on the
road on a day of that when it was an

(17:10):
early start. Then claiming the Pans State was great. I mean,
you could take some credit and in the downfall, but
that win is much bigger in my mind, and even
the USC game might be better in my mind, Yes.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
I would say USC game is better, and I agree
going on the road and playing at Iowa is not
an easy task, especially with all the elements, and they
ended up finding a way. That's the difference I think
between this year and what I've seen in some past
other years. It doesn't mean that they're immune to that
when it comes to the rivalry game, which is essentially
like a playoff game, or when it comes to the playoffs,
and I'm sure we're going to dive into a lot

(17:45):
more of that. We do got to go to break
right here. But on the other side of this, we're
going to have more arguing with a couple of dogs
right here. In Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Paula, Yeah, burpor, Hey, let's go.

Speaker 6 (18:00):
Awful. That's awful audio quality. I was in full sharpen it.
That's all audio.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Not my pault. I got it.

Speaker 6 (18:09):
Literally, Yeah, I take full credit for that game. And
but I notice how you're pulling out the shots from
twenty twenty two?

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Was it too?

Speaker 6 (18:20):
Was it too embarrassing to put on the twenty three highlights?
Was that?

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Was that one?

Speaker 6 (18:24):
A little? Was that one?

Speaker 4 (18:26):
I just think?

Speaker 5 (18:26):
Were?

Speaker 6 (18:27):
I mean that's no go I mean actually actually okay,
I'm gonna okay, Well, Ashley was the one that pulled Yeah,
I'm doing it. Yeah, smart, smart, smart lady smart.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Yeah, yeah, m hm, I'm glad that you guys are
enjoying yourselves.

Speaker 7 (18:42):
Hey, just so you know, all right. It sound like
I woke up three days ago and said, ding, here's
an idea. I want to go on there with Bucky
and talk about the game. No, there was a phone call.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
It wasn't my idea either. Okay, well you know it
wasn't me.

Speaker 7 (18:57):
Rich Moore does not have a lot of great ideas,
and when he's got one, we got to pounce on it, man,
and we pounced on it here today.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
So I like this three on one thing.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
It's fun, it's super enjoyable. I can handle it. I'm
fine with it because I'm feeling good. I mean, are
you guys? Are you guys? You guys are talking a
big game about how you can see it and then
we just heard that highlight of an upset, the first
time ever beating a tenth the top ten ranked Ducks team.
Now that's in part because they haven't been in the
top ten majority of their lives. And yet are you

(19:27):
guys feeling like this is another year that the upset's coming?

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Can you want to take that? Go ahead?

Speaker 6 (19:32):
Okay, I'll go first, and I'm going to go all
the way back to that twenty two just because it's
fun and we're nostalgic that was the best Oregon team
I've seen in probably a decade. That team, that twenty
twenty two team. I've said it from the start. They
were better than the twenty three team, and we were
able to beat that team. Also, they were very good
at the time of that win with signature. But to me,

(19:53):
going to me, I'm also a realist and I like experience.
So how about this on offense? And this is that's
why I say experience is key. That was a senior
laden program at the University Washington. A lot of seniors
on Oregon. But in this week going in the Oregon
offense six seniors, three juniors, Washington offense three seniors, two juniors,

(20:14):
three true freshmen. Flip it over to defense, and then
you could say Oregon ads two seniors, six juniors, Washington
five seniors, four juniors. We're better on defense right now,
We're a top ten defense in the country. We're allowing
under twenty points per game. When it comes to those
situations on defense, our offense is young, it is an

(20:35):
experienced Oregon's offense is full of seniors. They're full of experience.
Those that speak in generalities and say, hey, uh, you
know what freshman can be. No, they can't. It's never happened.
It won't, it won't, It won't happen. You have to
do things perfectly. We've done a lot of things this year,
especially when you watch the inexperience on the road, because

(20:55):
Demon Williams and ninety eight percent of those guys never
knew what it was like to ever set foot in snow,
much less figure out how to play in Wisconsin and
the driving snow and sideways. If you don't have a
benchmarkt how to play those games, you don't know how
to do it. Oregon had a bunch of guys that
knew how to go on the road and win at
Penn State, win at Iola, Okay, and then they had

(21:16):
some great games at home because they know what it's like.
I like to be honest with this. Washington has to
play a perfect football game, but they have to lean
on what they've done already. Now, will these younger players
suddenly become great. No, But they can lean on experience
of what they've had this season. But to me, that
is the difference in this football game is age.

Speaker 7 (21:37):
Look am I thinking Bucky that Washington's gonna win this game?

Speaker 2 (21:40):
No?

Speaker 4 (21:40):
I am not. Would I be surprised if they won
the game. No, I would not do.

Speaker 7 (21:44):
I enjoy coming on this radio show and poking the
bear and having your face during the cover the color
of a tomato. Yes, I go okay, I mean that
is the number one reason why I'm doing this. I
haven't even showered, i haven't even had breakfast. I'm actually
sitting in my office buck naked right now. Put my
clothes on. So this is how excited I am about
this opportunity that I bypassed all those things. I'm pretty

(22:06):
sure my dogs have peed in the house somewhere. I
have no idea where they are. There's gonna be a
big pile of poop when I go downstairs, I'll have
to clean up, and please do not tell my wife.
But yeah, look, man, I mean these are two teams
that in some ways are a little bit similar. I mean,
Oregon's number nine in the country, and scoring defense Huskies
are nineteenth, Oregon eighth and scoring offense Huskies are nineteenth.
Third down percentage j Oregon ninth. You dub fourth. By

(22:28):
the way, right, They've made a big jump in that
arena since last year. The difference for me, the question
I've got is what kind of running game shows up
for you, dub on Saturday. Jonah Coleman, the last time
we saw him, Jetfish put him in the game with
twelve minutes to go up thirty four to seven from
the one yard line and let him score a touchdown.
He was wearing a brace that's bigger than cam for
crying out loud. Okay, So I don't know what Jonah Colember,

(22:50):
We're gonna see in Saturday. On Saturday, I'm hoping to
see a lot more demonn Williams on the ground. I
feel like that's been a weapon guys that Jetfish has
not tapped enough this year. Everything started moving offensively when
they ran that drop play for the touchdown against UCLA
last weekend, So I want to see more of that.
I want to see a lot of improvisation. I know

(23:11):
that's a big word for guys like me, but I
want to see a lot more improv out of Demon
Williams in this game on Saturday. No more sitting in
the pocket forever waiting for something to open up downfield.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
There's nothing there. You take off.

Speaker 7 (23:22):
And I'm also a little bit concerned, and I'm also
curious to see how much the decision to play Jacob
Monu cam against Ucla plays a role in this game.
You're talking about one of the best tight ends in
America in Sadiq against a pretty good running back in Whittington.
And I really hope man, that we're not sitting there
on Saturday afternoon asking ourselves, God, how much would this

(23:45):
thing look differently if Jacob mon who was out there
playing well.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
And it's fair too, because he said, and you heard
Jed answer that question, he said, I felt like Sadanius
Randy Salid is capable now as the Drew freshman. Jacob
Mono he wanted to honor his is to play against UCLA,
and I get it. It was from his family. The
thing is is that if when Tacario Williams comes back,
I'm sorry, Scario Davis, and then you have a Fesians

(24:09):
Price sock, there's gonna be flexibility on the inside. You're
gonna have mikel Estein and there's gonna be Alex McLoughlin.
Are always gonna be aware where that tight end is
and he is one of the best in the country,
and there's gonna be a massive target. So you're gonna
have to stop some talent and some absolute speed. Monte
Moore has done some things this year. He's legit. That's
what happens when you go to a better program and

(24:31):
a better offensive scheme. He feels comfortable. But I'm with
you on the demand thing, and I said this from
the start. He is not a pocket consistent player because
he hasn't had to do that ever in his career.
His biggest threat in the intimidation. And if you listen
to Dan Lanning in his press conference, he made it

(24:51):
very clear, we have never faced a quarterback with this
kind of speed. We have never faced a guy that
can move like this. Sure Oregon has in the past.
Asked is what he said, But that is the biggest
concern is that he can get outside the pocket. He
can run and make plays with his beat. I'm going
to go back to the Michigan game and the Ohio
State game. Demand was not the same. He tried to

(25:14):
take the ball and distribute. That's fine because Degor de
Graff is playing great right now and you've got to
take advantage. He's had his best two games. He's going
to be a threat up the middle. But Demand Williams
has to one hundred percent take advantage of design runs,
scramble runs, and getting outside the pocket. They did it

(25:34):
last week versus UCLA. It has to be their biggest
threat versus organ this week.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
There's no doubt that there's I mean there's there's a
big time chance. You're playing at home. You do have
a crazy X factor in your quarterback. I agree that
if they let him run loose, he could do some things,
whether it's just moving the sticks or getting into even
getting into the end zone. The idea to me coming
into this game before the season, I mean, we ago

(26:01):
was the run game of Oregon. Now, the fact that
they got three of their their five offensive linemen that
are dinged up and may or may not play, and
the added motivation of just being a rivalry game. You
guys defensively have kind of turned the corner. The Huskies
have turned the corner and don't look like the team
that could get run on consistently. I think that it
comes down to that, and then you look at the

(26:22):
on the outside. You guys have good defensive backs, long
defensive backs that can make some crazy plays. That X
factor is sadik and I don't know for sure if
there is an answer for that, whether or not demand
or whether or not Dante Moore ends up hitting him.
He's been errant plenty of times. Back that Penn State game,
he played an outstanding game there. He was making all
the throws. Wasn't off target. He's been off target quite

(26:45):
a few times, and it's it's shot him in the
foot to some degree. So we're going to dive into
a couple more things. You guys are breaking it down.
You're not convincing me, but you're breaking it down. So
I do appreciate that segment. Well, we'll find out next
segment when you get ready to give me the dose
of reality that you've so badly been waiting to give me.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
I am a wondery.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Actually should have a statue.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Yeah, that is who I met. I've earned it. That
isn't who I meant.

Speaker 7 (27:13):
I feel like I should have a bench like bumms
have a place to sleep.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Actually, that's a good idea, just a bench about no.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
No, no, I think it should just be a smoking
section out of the side.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Yeah, that makes sense, smoking softy smoking section.

Speaker 7 (27:28):
Back in the day when I was a smoker, I mean,
you could have had like a little donut shop set
up nearby, you know as well?

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Why not? Man, just go the whole, the whole deal.

Speaker 7 (27:36):
We had a smoking section when I was in high school,
when I was sixteen years old.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
Is that still a thing by the way to high school?

Speaker 3 (27:42):
That?

Speaker 4 (27:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Yeah, I think one of those kids section.

Speaker 6 (27:45):
Now, I think everybody just popped vins outside the lunch
lady room or whatever.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
You know.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Yeah, well, I'm right there. I'm in the Zen club
for sure. I am wondering you guys. I mean Jonah Coleman.
You mentioned earlier how he got in the game and
he didn't look right. I mean it not just because
he had a brace that looked like you were clinging
to his leg. I mean his leg wasn't even bending
when he was moving around. It looked like he was
in pain. But Jed Fish was like, hey, let's get

(28:13):
you another touchdowns since your lead in the Big ten
in TV. So he didn't look right. We didn't see
Denzel Boston obviously a whole heck of a lot. I'm
wondering how big of a deal is it to have
those two guys back?

Speaker 7 (28:27):
Well, just real quick for me, huge, I mean Denzel
is your number one wide receiver and Jonah Coleman is
your number one back.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
I mean, I don't know what more needs to be said.

Speaker 7 (28:36):
I mean, look, I mean Adam Muhammad is looking better,
Jordan Washington has come on in the last couple of weeks,
but I think Jonah Coleman is still the DNA in
a lot of ways of the offense. And I think
it's been a disappointing season for both those guys, right,
I mean, Denzel Cam we're talking about him maybe being
a first round draft pick, and I think he's probably
better off coming back at this point. I think if
you were to told people that Jonah Coleman would be

(28:58):
like eighteenth nineteen from the Big ten in rushing at
the start of the year, I think you would have
said that's a disappointment for him. So question is to
both those guys have just one big performance left in
the tank on Saturday against Oregon, because no matter how
they've played this year, no matter how disappointing the year
has been for those guys from a numbers perspective, a

(29:20):
lot of that Cam as you know, it can be
washed away with a win on Saturday at Top thirty yeah.

Speaker 6 (29:25):
Yeah, there's gonna be a lot forgiven throughout the entire
season if you walk away with this win. And that
going back to the Jonah Denzel issue once once there
was I mean when you suddenly play a defense and
they figure out how to defend you. The staggering stat
for me was the fact that Jonah hadn't had a
one hundred yard rushing game since the UC Davis week.

(29:45):
And that one, to me, it was not just baffling,
but watching Carter go down and then Drew as a
party go down, and then John Mills having to move
around and the group is the offensive line. But this
week even Fish said he could get I mean, Drew
as the Party's gonna practice a little bit. Uh, Pockey's
been being able to rotate. But this is as good

(30:06):
as our offensive line physically is gonna be. Now. I
know Landon Hatchetts still out with his with his cast.
The snap issues with Zach Kenny was a little concerning
at UCLA. I did not like that those things have
to be cleaned up. But yeah, the running game I
thought was gonna be a lot better this year, and
Adam has gotten better. Uh, Jordan Washington is electric fast,

(30:27):
but if I want to be straight honest, I don't
know if he's this kind of back that can powerfully
handle a bunch of hits as strong and as good
as Organ is on defense. I don't want to see
him carrying the ball that much. I would rather see
Adam Ahaba. But from somebody that has played in a
big game injured, I'm gonna tell you you will do
whatever it takes to play in this football game. Now,
I'm not saying doing anything that involves risking your career,

(30:52):
but you're gonna do whatever it takes to play in
this football game.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
I think that.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
I think you're gonna see Joan Coleman. I just don't
know for sure how long Husky fans are going to
want to see him. If I mean, a lot can
happen in a week. You can heal a lot, especially nowadays,
especially when you're young like these guys are. But I
wouldn't be surprised if he's somewhat ineffective, and I would
be willing to bet they do. Go to Adam Mohammad
first and foremost and sprinkle in Jordan with some stuffs,

(31:18):
hoping he can take one to the house, because he's
pretty electric. When he has gotten the ball on the
other side. One real quick, you guys are talking about
Kenyon Sadik, Who is it that you're thinking is going
to be the man kind of assign that task because
he is, He's just a guy that's kind of a mismatch. Typically,
that's what a good tight end is. Cam Cleveland knows that.

(31:40):
So who's going to be the guy that you're thinking
this guy has to show up, not just keep his
eye on him, but actually outplay him.

Speaker 6 (31:47):
Well, I think it's got to be either it's going
to be Rashaun Clark and or it's going to be
Leroy Bryant in the slot. Now, if they do make
any adjustments, if they're not afraid they might slide down
now it's been done before, they might move a Tacario
Davis on the inside and just say, hey, this is
your man all games. You could do something like that.
Coach Walters has gone outside his normal scheme of defensive

(32:10):
ideas this year, and sometimes you have to put goods
on goods. If you just say, hey, I'm a field corner,
that means if you're on the right hash and you're
a field corner, so you're always on that side. Ephesians
have gotten much better this year in tackling and his aggressiveness.
And if I have two six or four corners and
I have a legit tight end, and my fear is

(32:31):
I could bring in a younger freshman. I could bring
in Dylan Robinson who's played a lot and as a
big freshman corner, I mean he is taller. You could
put that on your wide receivers and then now you
have a way to defend a tight end who I mean,
arguables were the best tight end in the country and
you have to account for it. So there are ways
to do it. You're just gonna have to throw a

(32:53):
lot of guys at it.

Speaker 7 (32:54):
Yeah, I think Price Socks the guy in this game.
I'm really kick curious and actually can't wait to see
what kind of scheme Ryan Walters comes up with Bucky
and Cam. And I gotta tell you, man, I've been
pretty impressed with Ryan Walters because you look at this
defense Bucky and there's no all Big ten obvious first
team guy. I mean, Price Sock obviously in Takario would
probably be the two guys that you would look at,

(33:16):
but there's no All American candidates on this defense. He yet,
this defense's top twenty in the country in scoring, right,
I mean, it kind of reminds me of Mike McDonald
that the scheme is the star over at U dub
So I'm really curious to see what he does. I mean,
I forget the player cam, but Price Sock had to
play against the Bruins on Saturday. It was kind of
like Nicki Mnwari where he shedded a block and just

(33:36):
yanked the receiver down. Yeah, through right round. I mean,
he's a very physical corner. He's big, he's lanky. I
would love to see what he could potentially do against Sadik.
But again, I'm just I'm really curious if we're gonna
be ruing the day. Then, Jacob Monho decided to play
against UCLA and not against the Ducks on Saturday, because
I would love to see him, especially against the seam

(33:59):
routes of Sadek, in this game on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
But hey, Bucky, it's been real.

Speaker 7 (34:03):
I really enjoyed this and I'm actually even more excited
that this is now over.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
So well good, I'm glad. I'm thankful that you enjoyed it.
I will say this just real quick. I think Ryan Walters.
If he does end up deciding to bring one of
those experienced guys down to just basically try to blanket
Sadek as much as possible, that is something I think
they should think about doing, because they're if the Ducks
as of right now don't have a couple of their
best pass catchers on the outside, so right, maybe you

(34:29):
sacrifice that and say, like Cam did, well we'll just
go ahead and put a younger guy out there and
hope he can hold down the forward against the third
and four string UH wide receivers. So well, I'm looking
forward to the game.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Are you going by the way I am going.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
I'm taking Barren, my son is going to his very
first game, So we're gonna We're gonna be there.

Speaker 7 (34:47):
Yet, be a great way for him to be introduced
to the UW Oregon rivalry. With a loss at such
a young age down up set him up for failure. Now,
good call.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Yeah, I don't think that's the way it's gonna go.
I think we'll be walking out of there happy. But
thanks again, guys, appreciate it. You guys have a good Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
All right? That's uh Cam and Softy right there. We
gotta take a break here.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
On the other side of this, we got Hugh and
Greig coming in for a Seahawks round table. Stick Around
