Headlines and ROBERT TURBIN (Seahawks Squad Podcast) Former Seahawks’ running back, Robert Turbin pinch-hits for a traveling Gregg Bell this morning and gives us his thoughts on last night’s Seahawks win. The Seahawks dominated on a National stage, but there’s a lot of talk focusing on the Jayden Daniels injury. Just how impressive was Sam Darnold last night and should he be getting more attention? JSN is leading all NFL receivers and had another 100+ yard-night; is he un-guard-able? We haven’t even gotten to talk much about the Seahawks defense, who were on a mission last night! :30- The Jayden Daniels injury seemingly overshadowed the impressive Seattle performance, with everyone wondering if Daniels should have even been in the game at that point? :35- It’s fact or fiction time and we are looking for some instant gratification! :45- The Dodgers won a phenomenal World Series and Toronto fans are whining.

eighty two yards and four touchdowns in the first half,
and the Hawks go on to an easy win that
did end with Jade and Daniels getting injured and gruesomely,

(02:19):
he ended up dislocating his left elbow. He is most
likely to miss the entire season, but it certainly did
not impact the outcome. Of that game last night. It
was well in hand for Mike McDonald and the Hawks,
who improve on the season to six and two on
the year. Next up, they'll take on the Arizona Cardinals,

(02:39):

We've got a special treat for you today. Joining us
now and plays of Greg Bell today. Former Seahawks running
back and he is working in the media these days.
He does the Seahawks Squad Show postgame show with the
Anders Hearst Chris Crawford and others. I guess they decided,

(04:45):
let's get somebody that knows football and ye yeah to
me on our postgame show, and so.

Speaker 6 (04:52):
Yeah makes sense. Really, is we.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Welcome in the man with the largest biceps in North America?
Robert Turbine is with us right here on Chuck and Buck.
Good morning, Robert, Well looks looks up.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
How we doing.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
We're doing great?

Speaker 7 (05:07):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (05:07):
And you yeah, I'm great.

Speaker 7 (05:10):
I hope the uh, I hope the background music isn't
too loud. I'm in the gym, I'm trying to I'm
in a dem I'm trying to look as good as y'all.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Okay, I'm trying to get fit, so fit as good
as you too.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
So yeah, you just decided, Uh, I have to have
the world's largest biceps. I can't stop just because I'm
not playing football. Is that what happened?

Speaker 8 (05:30):
That's exactly right, because before you know it, my son
he's nine now, and then before you know it, he'll be,
you know, nineteen, trying to trying to one up to dad,
and I just can't.

Speaker 7 (05:41):
I just can't have it happen.

Speaker 9 (05:43):
You know.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
Does he got to keep it as long as possible?

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Does he have the natural monster bicep build that you
had at that age.

Speaker 7 (05:51):
No, No, he's he's well, he's actually more lean.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Okay, you know, yeah, he's more lean.

Speaker 7 (05:57):
He looks like a like a track star, like a
that guy, you know, like a like a.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
High jump or something, you know, that works. But he's
a lot more athletics than I was at that age,
for sure.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
It worked out all right for you. Well, thank you
for joining us. We appreciate it. Sorry to bug you
at the gym, But man, I mean, I don't know.
I was yelling this morning about how the NFL networks
were leading with Jayden Daniel's injury over the fact that
the Seahawks put on just a show last night, just

(06:30):
an absolute show. To me, that's the headline that the
Seahawks are one of the best teams in the National
Football League and Sam Darnold might be one of the
best quarterbacks in the National Football League. Your thoughts, well, I.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
Mean, you can't argue with that. The Seahawks certainly did
do their thing last night. They put on the show.
They were hitting off cylinders, you know, so it's.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
Difficult to argue with the headline there. But you know,
Jane Daniel's.

Speaker 7 (06:54):
Number two overall pick franchise quarterback. If you think about
not only the injury itself, but the timing of it,
should he have been in the game, all the question
marks that are surrounding it, you know which store should
be larger. I guess it is up to the national
media to decide. But when you take into account, you

(07:14):
know those other factors. Their season is over and what
did their future look like now with this type of injury.
I've had a dis okay to elbow and it was
a very gruesome and difficult injury to come back from,
and so I don't think that, you know, there should

(07:35):
be any scene taken away from the Seahawks per se.
But man, you know number two overall pick franchise cornerback,
that's certainly going to dominate the headlines this morning.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (07:47):
I mean it was a big deal obviously, and it
was gross, and it took away from the game to
some extent, But I mean getting to the part of
the game that was the biggest story up to that
point had to be the sea just the way in
which they played kind of clicking on all cylinders like
you're talking about. But first and foremost, I mean Sam
Darnold starting out what sixteen for sixteen, I mean, was

(08:09):
basically perfect in the first half of that game. Anyways,
before that one interception that he threw, what are you
seeing in him that might lead you down the path
the thing? And hey, not only is this guy a
great move for them to move from where they were
at before to where they're at now, but this might
legitimately be the franchise quarterback they've been looking for ever

(08:31):
since maybe Russ turned, you know, turned a different kind
of corner so to speak.

Speaker 7 (08:37):
Yeah, I mean, look, he just plays with so much composer. Composer,
he's you know, he's developed it.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
To a really really good leader.

Speaker 7 (08:44):
He doesn't really matter what's going on in the game.
All the ups and downs in the air flows that
happened before a quarter of the football game. You know,
you can tell that he's you know, sort of the.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
Same guy throughout. Down after downs, and guys.

Speaker 7 (08:56):
Really foot off of that, you know, guys really stoot
off a quarterback who just has that mental fortitude, uh
to be able to overcome adversities and uh, you know,
to to not you know, really settle when things are
going good, to kind of keep the move the keeps
to uh, the key things pushing in terms of wanting
to continue to do great things, you know, throughout the

(09:17):
football game. And that's where you see guys like a J.
Barner and you know some of these other players who
may not get all the notoriety, but they're stepping up
and they're making big time plays. I think that has
to go into what kind of synergy has been developed
within the offense, and it starts with you know Sam Donald.
You know, like, yeah, I'll give examples of like I

(09:38):
watched the Raider game yesterday and you know, of course,
you know was was our quarterback and you know he
was a good player and he's he's a good person.
But you're not gonna see Sam Donald slam his helmet
onto the ground and you know kind of get over emotional, uh,
despite whatever is going on through a football game. And
guys really really feed off that have a composure coming

(10:01):
from their leader. And so he's an exceptional this season.
This offense really fits within his skill set. It's been
awesome to watch.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Robert Turbin is with US former Sea Hawk running back.
He's at the gym this morning. That's so on brand
for Robert Turbin right there, and he joins us here
this morning to talk about the seahawks thirty eight to
fourteen win over the Commanders last night. Is Jackson Smith
and Jigma just unguardable?

Speaker 7 (10:26):
I think so a lot of folks might think that
as well. And the reason is because he's not one dimensional.
You know, he's not a guy that is only a
slot guy. You know, he started off his career like that,
but then they found out that, oh man, he can
play on the outside. We can motion them and give
them the ball on a fly sweep. He's got so

(10:47):
much versatility in his game that it makes them one
of the toughest players in the NFL to guard. You
can't just key on him, you can't just put double
teams on him, you can't just bracken him because you know,
Kobiak does a nice job moving them around throughout different formations,
in them in motion things of that nature. So, you know,

(11:07):
because he has that skill set, it makes him one
of the hardest guys to guard in the NFL.

Speaker 10 (11:14):
Robert the you know, one of the talking points that
we've had most of this season was they, hey, they're
going to run the ball. Now, run the run. Game
hasn't looked as great as maybe we would have hoped.
You know, the new outside zone blocking scheme and see
if that unleashes Ken Walker. Now, they have ran the
ball effectively at times, and yesterday I think they had
twenty four rushes to twenty four passes. But from your

(11:37):
more expert eye when you watch this team, is I'm
wondering if it looks like they're even when they're not
running the ball. They have a lot of heavy formations
maybe twelve personnel, and then they're passing out of that.
Is that part of the reason that Sam Darnold is
looking so good and the part of the reason that
Jackson Smith and Jiguan might be uncoverable.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
Yeah, no doubt about it.

Speaker 7 (11:58):
You know, because you find those run looks, and you know,
at the end of the day, the instinct of a
defense is to stop the run first, no matter what.
And you know, the Seahawks may not be getting necessarily
the the the numbers that that fans want to see,
or you know, even the Seahawks may want to see,
but the running game is being impactful enough for opposing

(12:20):
defense teams to respect it. And when you want to
find those heavy sets, if you if you if you
show up with a light box, well guess what Sam
Darling is gonna check to a different play at the
line of scrimmage and run the football for twelve personnel,
two tight ends in the back against maybe a six
man box.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
But that's what you show up with, and that gives
us the advantage.

Speaker 7 (12:41):
Now we got we got a hat on the halt,
we got numbers, and so you have to respect the
fact that you know, Seattle can still do damage in
the run game if you don't, if you show up
with a light box, and so it.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
Just opens up everything else down the field.

Speaker 7 (12:55):
And you know, to me, you know, I know we're
looking at the numbers. To me, the run game is
still been impactful and it shows on tape because of
how teams are still defending it even though the quote
unquote numbers aren't there.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
You know what I give him credit for. I thought,
I think Clint Kubiak has been using Walker and Sharbonnay
at the last night, I thought he used him at
the right times, if that makes sense, Like, Okay, neither
of them were overly effective, but man, it just you
kind of felt their impact and it felt like they
were the right running back for the jobs they were

(13:30):
asking to do. Is that crazy or did you feel
the same thing?

Speaker 7 (13:35):
No, I think it's exactly right. I think that impact
is is the perfect word to describe how the Seahawks
utilized their run game and how they utilized Jack Sharbonnay
and Kenneth Walker the third. You know, they're trying to
put them in scenarios, you know, where they can be
most successful. And so you know, to me, the impact

(13:55):
is more effective than the actual numbers. I compared to
the King City Chief well Kareem Hunting, Isaiah Pachuco. You know,
the numbers might not be there, but you know their
impact shows up when teams are respecting the run.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Well, I just gotta just just overall thoughts. I mean,
after a win like that, six and two on the year,
four and oh on the road, they're the best road
team in the National Football League. Robert Turbin, how good
is this Seahawks team in your estimation right now?

Speaker 5 (14:26):
Yeah? This was the playoff team, no doubt about it.
They got to keep it rolling.

Speaker 7 (14:31):
You know, it's still a long season ago, but you know,
to me, I thought the Commander's game was critical because
you know.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
You couldn't lay an egg.

Speaker 7 (14:40):
You couldn't lay an egg the way that the Green
Bay Packers did against the Carolina Panthers yesterday.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
You know, if you if you're going to be a.

Speaker 7 (14:47):
Dominant team in the NFL, then you know you got
to be able to stomp on the teams that aren't
doing well. And unfortunately the Commanders, you know, there's one
of those teams this season. And for the Seahawks to
go in and dominate the game like that on the road,
I think says a lot about their future.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
All right, So what do be doing?

Speaker 5 (15:07):
Me?

Speaker 2 (15:07):
You both bar bells? Dumbbells? What are you doing? You
hang upside down and you know, work out? What's the
what's the secret to Robert Turbin and his physique?

Speaker 7 (15:18):
I know, I keep it simple man, little back squad today.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Okay, you know, little reverse lundon. I just got done
with a slug push, you know, uh huh, I keep
I keep it.

Speaker 7 (15:31):
I keep it pretty simple, all right, to keep up
with you boys? All right?

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Man, Well, thank you very much. It was great having
you on here this morning and appreciate you breaking up
the workout to join us. So we'll do this again soon.
If that's all right with you.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
Yeah, anytime. I love I love chatting with you guys, anytime.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
All right, perfect, thanks man. Robert Durbin Turbin joining us
right here on Chuck and Buck in the morning. Former
Seahawks running back at the gym. Oh yeah, I've done all.
I've done a slug push all right.

Speaker 11 (16:02):
I think he said sled push slug. I was like, yeah,
I think on those two. Yeah, how much weight do
you have on the sled? Usually thousands on the slug. Yeah,
well that's it's more intricate act you got to push.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
It depends on the size.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Of the cooperate number one. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (16:28):
You don't want to just push an uncooperative slug around.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
So anyway, Robert and I we kind of know, we
speak each other's language.

Speaker 6 (16:37):
Definitely is trying to keep up with us. That makes it.

Speaker 9 (16:40):
I do like that he buttered you guys up there
right away. I'm trying to look as good as you guys.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
I was like, is he seeing this show?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
He knows how to do.

Speaker 4 (16:51):
I included myself and that that's why I didn't say
just you guys.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
He knows how to do it.

Speaker 12 (16:55):
You know, you butt him up at the beginning butt
him up at the end. You can say anything you
want to. I don't remember anything he said in them. Yeah,
I really, and I wrote some stuff down, so I
can't go back.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
To awful things about us. I don't.

Speaker 6 (17:09):
I don't care either, say just try to keep up
with us and try to look as good as us.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
You're right. Flattery donut, flattery donut.

Speaker 6 (17:15):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
I loved everything about it. We appreciate Robert. Greg could
not be with us today. He's in Root back from DC,
so we'll catch up with him tomorrow. We're gonna have
a lot to discuss with Greg tomorrow. We've got the
NFL trading deadline, the Seahawks injuries of their own coming
out of that, and we really haven't talked much about
the defense. I mean, and for good reason. I mean,

(17:37):
Sam Darnold's such a headline. The blowout is such a headline.
Daniels is such a headline, and it felt important to
when we had Robert Turbin on the show to talk
about the running game a little bit. But we haven't
really talked about the defense much at all. I mean,
tyle Cottas interception was one of the catches of the year,
and for that to come from us safety for goodness sake,
all I thought was so phenomenal.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
I thought Greg Bell's so happy he loves Tyle.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Oh yeah, Emon Wori just continues to stand out. I mean,
we got a superstar about ready to just lift off
in this league. I mean, at one point, did you
see the play where he lifted Debo off his feet
with one arm while fighting off a blocker with the other.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
He's like a video game person and exactly.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Two to two at will. This is Deebo Samuel, like
one of the thickest, the most physical wide receivers in
NFL history, and he rolls out there and he's trying
to fight off a blocker with his left arm and
then just lifts him up and keeps him from going
one inch more toward the first down marker. Phenomenal play,
spoons energy. I mean, he was leading the team in tackles.

(18:48):
They took him out of the game. Leonard Williams played great,
even though there was one strange play where he was
running alongside Jadan Daniels rather than tackling him. That was odd.
I don't know if he thought he was running sideways
and lost like his you know, geography there, but that
was an odd play. But I mean the defense played
fantastic last night too. I thought Jade Daniels spent most

(19:10):
of the first half looking very confused, which is a
credit to Mike McDonald and Aden Dirty. And so it
was just a terrific night night of dominance for the Seahawks,
and we will talk more about it coming up with
Hugh Millan at eight o'clock. Mike Holmeran will also join
the conversation at nine. So Monday Morning Quarterback Today from
eight to ten. And since this is the big topic

(19:33):
of the day according to the national people, maybe we
should sink our teeth a little further into this Jade
Daniels injury, So we'll talk about that next Sports Radio
ninety three point three KJRFM. She was the only undefeated
one of the three of us, so you might want
to lean into Ashley's picks these days, so we'll do
that at seven thirty five. Also, go squeeze in a
little bit of base got a little baseball news this

(19:54):
morning to pass along at seven forty five, And of course,
Monday Morning Quarterback Today, Hugh Millen and Mike ho Irin
from eight to ten o'clock talk about the Seahawks blow
out went over the Commanders thirty eight to fourteen the
final score, But I guess people are insisting. Even Robert
Turbin kind of saw that Jade Daniels that is the
bigger story going into this morning. So I do get that.

(20:19):
And yet obviously they're not better off for Jad and
Daniels having damaged his elbow in such a gruesome way,
but it is a non throwing elbow, and long term,
I don't think it's going to affect Jade and Daniels' career.
I think, in a strange way, it could end up
doing the Commanders a little bit of a favor. They

(20:43):
were a terrific team a year ago and they finished
really strong. But in the National Football League, man, there
is a big difference between when you got it and
then when you lose it. Hugh pointed out to us
last week the think tank that he's part of, and
the guy said, don't like. Don't like the Commanders at all.
They violate twenty players that you can flag for either

(21:06):
having bad contracts or being old, or whatever the case
may be. They had more than twice the number that
he feels acceptable having, So they have the oldest roster
in the league. They were obviously beat up and bruised
coming into this game, and now they're more beat up
and bruised coming out of this game. I think it
probably is the indication that Washington needed. With tomorrow being

(21:28):
the NFL trade deadline, it's time to cash in our
chips here, like, let's sell at the trading deadline, Mario
to finishes out our season. We try to surround Jaydon
Daniels with younger, better players next season, maybe we can
protect him a little bit better. This might actually end
up being exactly what the organization, not a Jade Daniels injury,

(21:50):
but the thing that pushes them toward recognizing we don't
have it this year and so we probably need to
start thinking about the future immediately.

Speaker 10 (22:00):
Yeah, I mean that's unfortunate. However, you have to come
to that conclusion. I mean, their record was kind of
probably nudging them in that direction, and you just add
another loss to the mix last night, and yet I
would still I mean I wouldn't, so I wouldn't be
surprised if this does push it over the top a
little bit. I mean, you're three and six, where are

(22:22):
they at, like standings wise?

Speaker 2 (22:24):
They're not well three and six without Jane Daniels for
the rest of the season. They lost Marshall last night, who,
by the way, is just not a good player anymore.
He's just he used to be a great player, but
he still plays like that and he gets angry, he
gets offended because he can't keep up with the receivers
he used to be able to cover, and so he's
two penalties a game, and so he's not even a

(22:45):
good player anymore. And now on top of it, they've
lost him for the rest of the season.

Speaker 10 (22:49):
With a hunt the yeah al and the McCaffrey kid
ends up breaking his collar bone.

Speaker 6 (22:54):
Yeah they got They got beat up yesterday.

Speaker 10 (22:56):
In more ways than one. And yeah, I mean they
find themselves. The Eagles are going to win that division, obviously.
I think that it probably is is time to make
that decision. If there is anything that's older, that's still
playing at a high level that you could move and
get something for and just kind of punt on the season,
it probably is time.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
After losing four in a row.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah, I said last week, I think they were going
to blow them out. I didn't expect to humiliate them.
I didn't expect to dominate to that fashion.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
You had a lot more confidence than I did, that's
for sure.

Speaker 9 (23:27):
I thought we were gonna win, but I did not
think that we were going to be as well dominating
as we were.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
And it's incredible to you for that.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Well, you had a feeling, it's well, it's not just
a feeling, it was all those factors that went into it.
They weren't playing well, they were beat up, they were
on short rest. They're the team that needed the bye,
not the Seahawks. And here are the Seahawks, like, we
just got an extra week now to get rid of
a team that's far more beat up than us. And
I just think they were adding in the wrong direction. Yeah,

(23:57):
and they just rolled then to that home game and
got hit with a buzzsaw, just an absolute buzz saw
last night. And so the riding to me is on
the wall for dan Quinn. There's no saving this season, no,
and so why not use the trade deadline to try
to get some pieces that help you get better next season?

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Be smart?

Speaker 9 (24:17):
I mean that's what Sometimes you need that shove in
one direction or another. They got a big shove last night.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Yeah, they certainly didn't want to lose Jayden Daniels that way,
but it probably was the information that pushed them over
the top to say it's just not going to happen
this year. We really thought it was, but it's just
not going to happen this year. All right, we'll talk
more about the seahawks thirty eight to fourteen win over
the Commanders with Hugh at eight o'clock. But right now,

(24:44):
let's play some fact or Fix shown.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Where's that to go?

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Glad you're with us?

Speaker 13 (24:48):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's Factor Fiction and probably
presented by Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel. We're every day
feels Lucky. Fact Or Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety
three point three kJ R FM.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
All right, Ashley won. She picked Buffalo over Kansas City.
We only won one other game, so we lost a
game to the afternoon show, so well with me. But
nonetheless we're still in good shape. We're in good shape
and let's ride our hot hand here. So, Ashley, where

(25:31):
are we going with factor fiction?

Speaker 5 (25:33):
Do you know?

Speaker 9 (25:33):
I love any chance we can get some immediate gratification, right,
So let's get things going on the right foot.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
Tonight with some Monday night football action.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Hey, let's do it now.

Speaker 9 (25:41):
I don't know that I trust either of these teams
as far as the spread goes, but one thing I
do know, Dallas's defense is not good and the over
under here is at fifty three and a half. Now,
I want to tell you a little something about Dallas. Okay,
every game they well, five of the six games they've
played this year have been an average of sixty six

(26:02):
total points scored.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (26:04):
Yeah, only one has been under fifty and that was
only that was forty five. Still pretty high scoring game.
So I'm going to take Arizona at Dallas over fifty
three and a half.

Speaker 6 (26:14):
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
I think that is a right pay thank you. I
think that's I mean, how could it not go over?

Speaker 4 (26:22):
That's what I think.

Speaker 7 (26:23):
I know.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Jacoby Brissett's starting over Kyler Murray, but they've actually been
performing better with Brissett than they were with Murray.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
And they got a pretty good run game too.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
There's no solving that Dallas defense, and I don't think
there's any stopping the Dallas offense really. I mean, I
think there maybe, I think the Seahawks maybe a couple
of great defensive teams. But the Cardinals don't have one. No,
so I like that selection. You say fifty three or
fifty three and a half. Fifty three and a half,
fifty three and a half. That means that the two
teams tonight need to combine for fifty four points or more.

(26:54):
It's a pretty big number, that's right, But Ashley saying
you could have made it one hundred and fifty.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
That's right. I'm going seams are scoring.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
So if you think they're gonna combine for fifty four
points or more than, go ahead and text fact to
four nine four, five to one. If you disagree with
that selection, you're gonna text fiction to four nine, four
to five to one. It's a brand new week, so
we start again with that thousand dollars cash prize drawing.
If you're right on this game, we enter your name

(27:23):
into a drawing that drawing at the end of the
week for one thousand dollars in cash. If you're right
again with MJ and Kid at eleven thirty five, we
re enter your name again. So now you got two entries,
you can get up to twenty entries into that thousand
dollars cash prize drawing. That we do every week during
the Factor Fiction season, and ten thousand dollars is going
to go to the person who gets the most correct

(27:46):
picks this Factor Fiction year again. Fact to four nine,
four to five to one, Fiction to four nine four
five to one, same number, just different words. If you
agree with the selection of a combined fifty four points
more from the Cowboys and the Cardinals tonight on Monday
Night Football. If you disagree, text fiction. It's all brought

(28:07):
to you by Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel. Lucky Eagle
Casino and Hotel back to twenty four hour gaming every
Friday and Saturday starting this week November seventh. Slots and
jackpots all night long. Oh yeah, they do it all
night long.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
I think there's a song about it.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Details at Luckyeagle dot com. Your next chance to play
at eleven thirty five with Kid and MJ. It's Factor
Fiction on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJARFM. Coming
up next, news from the Mariners that we need to
pass along. Plus let's laugh at Toronto Sports Radio ninety
three point three KJARFM. Millon and Mike Holmger coming your way.

(28:47):
A lot of fun stuff to talk about. Nothing to
be grumpy about today, that's for sure, nothing but good, good, good,
positive analysis. I'm sure about last night's impressive performance by
the six and two Seattle Seahawks. Will do at at
eight o'clock with you, and then Coach joins the conversation
at nine. I do have some Mariner news to pass
along to you. For those of you who were, for

(29:09):
some reason worried that we were going to pick up
the Mitch Garver option. It didn't happen. So Mitch Garver
has already hit free agency, and it doesn't feel like
they spent a lot of time contemplating it, mulling it over. Yeah,
like Monday, we didn't get till eight o'clock on a Monday,
but they're not even into the offices, and Jerry and
Justin were like riding over to Mitch just to pack

(29:32):
his bags for him. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (29:35):
Yeah, it would be actually really funny if that's how
that went. Like you just show up with a moving van,
all right by Yeah.

Speaker 10 (29:40):
I'm glad that he gets to leave me with just
one final bit of irritation, which is we have to
pay him a million dollars to not to buy him out,
so we don't pay him the twelve million that he
would have got if we exercised the option, but maybe
if they did take any time today it was hey, Mitch,
so I want to get any eveny you want to
give any of that money back?

Speaker 6 (30:00):
Maybe you payroll bandit.

Speaker 10 (30:03):
But no, he obviously was not coming back, and that's fine,
good dude, maybe, but I really don't need to see
him hit the way he hits.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
Ever.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Again, it didn't work out. It just it just didn't
work out. And I wanted it to.

Speaker 7 (30:17):
Yeah, and I.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Didn't think I mean, I didn't love it at the
time that it happened, but I didn't hate it either.
There's enough evidence of that on Stove and this show
to support that. I thought that there was a chance
that it was gonna work out fine, especially the fact
of all of his injuries in the past were because
of all of them suffered while catching. They weren't theoretically

(30:40):
going to have him catch. He was supposed to be
a d H or that DH that bashed the baseball,
and instead he couldn't do that, And so you had
to find a role for him for the salary that
you were paying him, and he ended up being your
backup catcher and I supposed the pitcher's like throwing to him.
He wasn't necessarily some cam an armed catcher that was

(31:01):
scaring the Jesus out of base runners, that's for sure.
But they found a role for him. I think he
was liked in the clubhouse. I think he did contribute
some things, but obviously, big picture, it just didn't work
with Mitch Garver.

Speaker 10 (31:16):
Yeah, I mean, I've kind of went all in on
what I don't like and he, like I said, he
probably is a good dude.

Speaker 6 (31:22):
I think that he is a leader.

Speaker 10 (31:23):
I think that he's one that he doesn't necessarily lead
by example, but he leads with what he knows and
kind of keeping the team focused on what the task
at hand is. And yet, yeah, he just didn't. He
didn't bring enough competitiveness for me to be able to
really get behind him.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
I tried.

Speaker 10 (31:41):
I even was there one of the first ones like,
come on, let's give this guy a break. I think
he's gonna come come through some big knocks for us.
At some point during the season, I was speaking about
last year, rarely did he and he continues with that
same you know kind of I'm gonna control his own
and I'm gonna battle for a walk and that's just
not what I want out of a designated hitter.

Speaker 9 (32:01):
I think everyone wanted him to. Obviously they wanted it
to work out. You would be silly not to. But
it was especially after he went through all of the
kind of hate he was getting and then he felt
bad for him, so you were just kind of like,
if we could just will him to improve, And it
was even the whole theory of every other year he
has a good year and a bad year.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
I mean, he just had two bad years.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Yeah, they did. Maybe Toronto be a good fit.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
You should go there.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Yeah, maybe I'd be a good fit for you. Man.
I'm really surprised. Blue Jays, by the way, did not
win the World Series. The Dodgers won Game six and seven.
I'm sure I didn't have to tell you that, but
just in case there's somebody who's wondering, Dodgers won six
and seven. They won the World Series. We've already talked
about the craziness that was Game seven. The craziness well

(32:46):
that was the twenty twenty five World Series, and how
it was difficult to root for either of these teams
and that still remains. But I gotta say this, I
don't know what happened to Blue Jay fans, but seeing you,
first of all, celebrate the inside the park home run
that apparently all fifty thousand in attendance thought Addison Barger

(33:11):
hit to tie the game. That, I mean, how big
of baseball fans are you that you don't know a
rule that's been locked in place since Little League. If
the ball is trapped under the fence and it looks
like you might not be able to pull it out,
you raise your hands up like, oh, what do I do? Yeah,
you don't grab the ball, because if you grab the ball,

(33:33):
you eliminate the opportunity of finding out whether it's stuck.
You have to give yourself to it, which is what
the Dodger center dean did in that moment. And yet
apparently all fifty thousand fans in Toronto are so ignorant
that they thought Addison Barger had hit an inside the
park home run, and that the Dodger center fielder was like,

(33:54):
there's nothing I can do with a trapped ball. I'm
just gonna let everybody circle the bases, and then spent
the next twenty four hour news cycle complaining that the
Major League Baseball screwed the Blue Jays because they want
the Dodgers to win.

Speaker 6 (34:11):
Oh yeah, I heard that, Like nore, it's just the rule.
Pretty sure, it's just the way that it is.

Speaker 4 (34:18):
Sure was actually stuck, are you kidding?

Speaker 2 (34:20):
Pretty sure Addison Barger wasn't going to try to hit
a triple on that either, because you don't make the
first or third out at third base. He was going
to end up at second and that means that the
pop up that followed and then him getting caught off
second base on the line drive to left field could
have happened just the same. So it's not like it
was a given that if Asison Barger ends up at

(34:41):
third pace that you were going to win that game.
That was just to tie it anyway. So, I mean,
it was just a twenty four hours of like these
people need to shut up, like that play did not
lose you the ball game. That is how the sport works.
That's the damn rule that's been in place forever.

Speaker 6 (35:02):
Yeah, there was. I didn't understand the outrage about it.

Speaker 10 (35:06):
Just there has been times before where a ball will
kind of go under something and I can't remember when
it was I and a guy threw his arms up, like, oh,
that's under the patting, and they didn't grant it to
him because the umpire comes out there like, no, the
ground rules has to be lodged in. There has to
be lodged in somewhere, and then you put your hands

(35:27):
up because you're right. You don't if you go grab
at it and you and it is stuck and you
all of a sudden can't get it out of there, well,
now it's too late to throw your hands up. Or
if you grab any and you do yank it out
of there, you didn't take advantage of that rule. I
think that there's something to the idea of someone being
smart enough to recognize, oh, stuck under there and put
my hands up. That's a head's up play by him.

(35:49):
It's not a the umpire's cheating because they want the
Dodgers to win. And so the outrage I think was misplaced.
And yet, yeah, he wasn't getting a triple and most
certainly wasn't getting inside the home run.

Speaker 6 (36:01):
I'd well, just hit the fence.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
You probably scored just in there game.

Speaker 6 (36:05):
Yeah, you probably score a run three to too.

Speaker 10 (36:08):
Who cares, well, it's it would be nice, right if
all of a sudden that's the way in which it goes.
And it feels like if it just bounced off the
wall like and there was no there was nothing that
you felt.

Speaker 6 (36:20):
Wow, look at this, Oh my gosh, he's getting to
keep going. Why isn't like guy picking it up?

Speaker 10 (36:25):
If that hadn't happened, if it just bounced off the
wall like a normal double one run scores and there
was nothing to be irritated about. I guess maybe there's
a momentum thing going there, but yeah, I don't. It
doesn't guarantee you're going to tie it up or win
that game. So stop with the whole next day saying
that you got cheated out of something you didn't well.

Speaker 9 (36:43):
And it's just also ridiculous, like anyone with eyes can
see the ball was stuck, So where did you get cheated?

Speaker 4 (36:50):
Or you just need some excuse for why.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
You lost, and that's wants the Dodgers to win.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
Your team took it to a game seven. Be proud
of that. Don't go looking for an excuse as to
why you lost.

Speaker 5 (36:59):
You lost.

Speaker 4 (37:00):
The Dodgers are really good, all right.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
