The Seahawks get the shutout! The Seahawks defense absolutely dominated the Vikings and thank goodness they did, because offensively this team struggled. Darnold was sacked 4 times and the offense only managed one touchdown, relying on field goals and the defense to get the job done against Minnesota, so while there were a lot of positives to takeaway from the W, there are some concerns as well. :30- Grab your Thanksgiving leftovers and let’s enjoy a cold turkey sandwich together while we check out the NFL board of scores! There are 6 teams in the NFL with 9-wins and 3 of them are in the NFC West. :45- Coach Bucky is here and he only wants to talk about the Washington-Oregon game… yuck. - Coach Bucky and his son got to watch the game from the stands, how did that go? - What was the difference in the game? 3rd and long defense? Not using Adam Mohammed more? Not having any open receivers?

Speaker 4 (00:56):
There you go. Well, Hello, good Monday morning to you all.
Welcome into the radio program. It is Chucking Buck in

(01:16):
the Morning, Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM. Hope
you had a great Thanksgiving extended weekend and are ready
for a brand new week of the sports world. Because
it's hitting us right between both eyes right now. My
name is Chuck Powell. Good to be back. Ashley Ryan
is here, Bucky Jacobson is here as well as we

(01:37):
start here on a Monday, and plenty to discuss here
in our four hours together. Bucky, I was Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
It was wonderful. Lots and lots of food I had.
I would say five Thanksgivings. And that doesn't mean I
went to in laws. It means I had a gigantic
helping of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing anburry's, the entire rolls.
I had it five different times. I made a huge plate.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Good, it was a lot good.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
It was good. Yeah about you?

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Yeah, I just liked the idea that Bucky was just
like potentially like yeah, I mean, we've eaten all of
our food here. I'm now going to go to the
soup kitchen just standing on it. I haven't had enough. Now,
you really let me down. Four plates wasn't enough, you know, Yeah,
Mam would have made more. So now I'm just gonna

(02:31):
go down the street just knock on doors. I haven't
had enough and I don't want to wait another year.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Well, I thought about it when we ran out of pie.
I was like, I don't know how I'm going to
do my fourth and fifth Thanksgiving meals without pie at
the end. Yeah, exactly, yeah, exactly. Wait to stop short,
lady Ashley.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
I Thanksgiving it was good.

Speaker 6 (02:52):
Its good, had the family over me. Only took about
forty five minutes longer than I expected it too, so
that was an improvement. I suppose did you make like
bull obays again or beef tenderloin?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Okay, but we still do it with stuffing mashed potatoes.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
We also had roasted potatoes, because you should have two
kinds of potatoes at Thanksgiving. Yeah, and uh, green bean casserole,
Brussels sprouts five iron.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Will you do me the kindness of please stuffing the tenderloin?

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Yeah, except we don't stuff it. Don stuff just roast.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
You just don't out your own rear end.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Next year.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
You know, it gives me something to strive for it
every year, try to be I did used to do
like a.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Rolled flank steak, so it had it was stuffed. It
was delicious.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Like the tofu people, Yeah, they they I think I've
never had one of these, but I think that they
shape their turkey. Yeah, and maybe we could do that
with red meat.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
I mean, why not? The worlds are oyster?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
It is shot.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
I mean they're doing that tur ducan thing. I'm pretty
sure there's not a bee stout there that is a
third turkey, a third chicken, and a third ducks. Pretty
sure if there is, like man bear pig. Yeah, I'm
pretty sure that there's not a man bear pig version
of turkey dinner out there. But they still find a
way to pull it off. Well. Anyway, I hope everybody

(04:20):
had a great Thanksgiving. We certainly have a lot to
discuss as we reassemble here on this Monday morning, and
we will have our experts showing up a little bit
later on in the program. But the experts right now
nationally seem to be of a mind of man, are
we watching something special happening out there in Seattle, Washington

(04:40):
with their professional football team yesterday against the Minnesota Vikings,
a twenty six nothing shutout. Now, granted, Minnesota is going
with a backup quarterback never played, never started an NFL
game going into that contest, and so that certainly had
Mike McDonald and the defense licking their chops yesterday certainly

(05:03):
didn't stop the broadcast team from telling us how awesome
that guy was. Though I felt almost bad for Max
Brosmer making his debut. I think he was undrafted. I
probably should have looked that up before we came on
the airwaves, but making his NFL debut, and man, I
don't know if Kevin O'Connell misled the broadcast team or

(05:26):
if the minister, or if the broadcast team just did
a total disservice to Max Brosmer, but man, they were
acting like we were getting ready to face Tom Brady
and Josh Allen's love baby in that game last night.
I don't know if you've heard Joe while you're rooting
for the Dodgers, but this Max Brosmer guy. I heard
during practice the other day they brought out a big

(05:48):
bucket of water and he walked on it. I mean,
that's how they were acting in the pregame, and I'm like, Okay,
I guess I'll open my mind to the possibility that
Max Brosmer is not being thrown to the wolves here today.
But we might have the best defense in the National
Football League, and he'd better be as good as you're
talking about, because this is not fair to an undrafted

(06:10):
rookie quarterback to have to step in play in Seattle
against Mike McDonald and the healthiest our defense arguably has
been all season long, and they just devoured the kid.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Yeah yeah, I mean that one play. He was undrafted,
by the way. And yet last week when we were
kind of going down the idea of who was going
to be out there because JJ McCarthy's stilling concussion protocol,
you know, you look it up and it was like
what New Hampshire. And then he went to Minnesota and
there were some people from Minnesota that were saying, hey,

(06:42):
watch out, like people that watched him for one year, like, hey,
look out, you've been warned. Max Brosner's coming. It's like, ok, oh,
we got warned.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
We got warn plenty as the game was starting yesterday
about Mike Brugmer, Peyton Manning. But yeah, and the next thing,
you know, he's running for his life and throwing the
ball into the air.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Well, I mean the idea of what
they were saying right at first, when when I heard
him talking about how Kevin O'Connell really likes this kid's like, well,
not enough to have him draft him, right, Just you know,
give him a plane ticket to Minnesota and see what
he could do if your other three, your other two

(07:27):
quarterbacks were unavailable for whatever reason. And yeah, I was
kind of like squinting my eyebrowser be like, what, I
don't know for sure. Now we have seen it before,
where undrafted guys or rookie guys or guys that have
weren't weren't the starting guy have came in and beat Seattle.
That's happened now. It's happened to every organization, but it

(07:48):
does seem like it's happened a few different times here.
It just didn't seem like it was going to happen
to Mike McDonald and his defense.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
He looked like a rookie quarterback that went undrafted making
his debut against a great defense. Yes, that's what he
looked like. Nothing more than that, especially when he.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Did that scrambling and then it was like just go
down and then he just tosses it to Ernest Jones.
I was like, oh, no, that is a you have
hardly played mistake right there, like you have no experience
because you should just take that sack.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Yeah, he was, I'm sure trying to throw the ball away. Yeah,
but the trajectory just went right into Ernest Jones' hands.
But it was that, I mean, unless that's his style,
to just throw everything off the right foot falling away.
Maybe that's just his style, and maybe it'll work out
perfectly with the experience. But yeah, but yeah, he got

(08:35):
thrown right into the lions Den yesterday. And he has
people talking, not just nationally who are coming around to
what's going on here in Seattle. But I mean, even
Brady Henderson wrote an article is this the best defense
the Seahawks have ever had? Now, let's stop and analyze,

(08:55):
just somebody that's pretty good, really good at their job,
take the time to even ask that question, because I mean,
we were all here, are well, I wasn't here, but
we all experienced the legion of boom. That is the
second greatest defense ever I've seen in my entire life,

(09:17):
like in the history of football, like in my history
of watching football. That is the second best defense that
I've ever seen, next to the Chicago Bears of the
mid eighties. And so if we're if anybody would take
the time to write, is this the best defense in
Seattle Seahawks franchise history? That's a mouthful even if it's

(09:40):
not true. Just the fact that you even penned that
question and put it at the top of your article
that you're writing is quite the statement to make. My
answer to that is I need to see a lot more.
I need to see years of this. But I certainly
feel that we are in the conversation here in Seattle
of having the best defense in football, and I think

(10:00):
it's getting better every single week, which is pretty scary
for everybody else.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
The idea of what he brings to the table that
Mike McDonald, I'm speaking of what he brings to the table,
the complexity of it and how that makes the opponent
feel it is something that I don't know for sure
if we can fully understand, you know, a year and
a half into the whole thing. I know last year

(10:26):
before they brought Ernest Jones in and you were like, Okay,
not sure what this is supposed to look like. Just
that couple switches there at linebacker all of a sudden
changed things as far as they're stopping the run. Game
goes And then do the thing about the Legion of
Boom was you didn't have to cover very long because
the guys were getting there. It just seemed like this

(10:48):
a perfect storm of how they had that thing set up,
and it does seem like a two point zero of it,
or you know, I'm sure he would rather not be
connected to it. I got my own thing going on here.
It's a there's a different that we're going about this thing.
But you're right, I mean the idea that it's a conversation.
I don't think it's a complete conversation. I think we

(11:08):
have enough information to compare the two. To me, it's
apples and oranges at this point. But it most certainly
is moving in the direction of Mike McDonald's like, Yeah,
I'm not gonna sit here for my entire career as
an NFL head coach and you know, preferably for a
decade plus here with the Seahawks and think that we're
never going to have a defense better than the legion
of boom. He's he's going out there striving to have

(11:31):
people start to bring that conversation up, and eventually he
probably wants them to be able to say, no, I
think that now they've overtaken them, and that'll be a
crazy conversation if they get to that point.

Speaker 6 (11:40):
It is just after you said that, I was like,
there's no way that. I mean, just because of the
lore of the Legion of Boom, Yeah, you do put
them up against the best defenses in the history of football,
and so I was just looking just even in one category,
they finished the year with forty four sacks. We're at
forty already with the five games left, which obviously there's
a lot of other stats, but one right there just

(12:00):
kind of stood out to me, like it's worth the conversation.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
I think that defense went four straight years number one
in the NFL points allowed, in yards allowed, yea, which
I don't think any other defense has ever done. So
I mean, we're talking about comparing it to the great
arguably the greatest defense at all time. So I'm not
there yet, but certainly for somebody that covers the team
on a daily basis and doesn't make a habit of

(12:25):
just having hot takes, yeah exactly. For having introduced that
conversation into the world, having breathed that into the narrative
there this morning just proves just how great this defense
has looked, how much better it seems to be getting
every week. That was DeMarcus Lawrence's best game as a
Sea Hawk. That Ernest Jones felt like there were three

(12:46):
Ernest Jones on the field yesterday four interceptions, and a
lot of it has to do with you know, the
next Tom Brady, Max Brosmer. You know, I think he
contributed to how great the defense looked, but on the flips,
and certainly we will have this conversation as well today.
That was the worst past protection Sam Donald's been given

(13:07):
his entire time as a Seahawk. That was concerning. And
you're not gonna get to face a undrafted rookie quarterback
who likes to throw falling away from the defense every
single throw. You're not going to get that every single week.
And so for Sam Donald to have no time and
I don't put hardly any of it, if any of

(13:28):
it on Sam Darnold. There were occasions, just like we
saw with Russ and Gino, where he didn't have a
chance on several different plays yesterday, Anthony Bradford, we might
be at a point to get off the pot on
that particular decision. I mean, it doesn't seem to be working.

(13:49):
But Sam Donald, that was the worst past protection that
he's gotten. I mean, it led to him not being
able to survey the field. JSN only a two touch
dude catches yesterday in the contest with Search certainly as
an outlier for the season that he's had thus far.
So there are some concerning things to discuss. There are

(14:10):
some negative things to discuss today as well, following a
twenty six nothing shutout.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Yeah it wasn't perfect, but you know, I and Bradford is,
I mean, he's just not good now. I don't know
for sure why he would just continue to be run
out there. That tells me something about those in line
behind him, right, And yet I don't know how bad
they can be. I mean, they're pulling him and he
just runs and just just runs like he's an blocking,
invisible person and let's a real person run right at

(14:38):
the at the guy and make the tackle. It's like
block the one that is actually there would be nice.
And then yeah, pass blocking it doesn't look good. And
yet I don't know if there is a especially at
this point in the season. Now he's a starter. He
started the season there, it's not like he's there because
of injury. But there's you know, everybody has holes, even
the best offensive lines are gonna have a hole somewhere.

(15:00):
And there's a couple of times I know yesterday there
was a couple of plays where they ran behind him
and Abe Lucas and and it was effective. So it's
it's just his bad plays are like really bad, like
where he's just standing there, like spinning in circles where
people run by him. It's like if you block a
guy and he just is better than you and gets
by you, that's fine to just not touch anyone when

(15:21):
you're a guy who's like your job is to touch
people for sure and get in their way, not just hey,
where are you coat? It's not good. And yet yeah,
there's that leads to then there's pressure and Sam Darnold
needs to do a better job of of not losing
the ball when he is sacked. I mean, there's there's

(15:42):
everybody's gonna get sacked, and sometimes you can't help it
if you don't see it coming and they hit the ball.
Nobody's hands are strong enough to withstand that. But then
there's other times where you can tell he feels it collapsing,
and there's still is times when the ball comes out.
He's got to correct that or get better at that
as much as he can. But again, you're right, it's
it's one of those it's hard to find a whole
bunch of negative stuff when you end up going out

(16:03):
there and win in twenty six to zip.

Speaker 6 (16:05):
Yeah, I just kept thinking, thank goodness for this defense
because the offense was not good and so I mean
even two.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Hundred and twenty yards of total offense that usually means
you lost. Yeah, twenty six to seven.

Speaker 6 (16:18):
If you look at Sam's statline against Max Brosmer's, the
only difference is that Max through the four interceptions. I
mean there's it's basically see or Max had more completions.
They had about the same yardage. I mean, it's they
were both sacked four times. So I mean it wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
He didn't look Max Brosmer.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
No, No, no, he didn't know. I'm not saying that.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
I'm saying if you just looked at the stat line, though,
that's you know, that's the only difference. If you look
at the stat line and you're like, oh, well they
didn't they almost have the same day they did not
have almost the same day.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
Wasn't a good day for the offense. I mean they
had one touchdown in the entire game, settled for field goals.
Defense put him an excellent position all day long and
you still, I mean, there was you have to have
a conversation that broadcasters have to have a conversation once
they started stopped waxing poetic about Max Brosberg being the
next Dan Marino. Uh, they eventually had a conversation about

(17:09):
how the offense better feel what it's like to score
a touchdown this week. And so that conversation ended up
being held during the broadcast. So and again, the fact
that it even comes up suggests that there's you know,
that wasn't exactly a picture perfect day for the offense.

(17:30):
So we've got a lot to discuss. I mean, to me,
that's a that's a great problem to have on a
sports talk show on a Monday morning, coming off of
twenty six nothing. When that you get to talk a
lot of superlatives, but you also get to ask a
lot of questions and maybe drum up a few concerns.
And so we've got the experts to cover that.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Here.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Let's find out what's on tap for today's radio program.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
What's on tech? What's on tech?

Speaker 1 (17:56):
All right?

Speaker 4 (17:56):
Seawks twenty six Vikings Nothing, Monday Morning Quarter Session seven
oh five. Greg Bell will be joining us at eight
o'clock Hugh Millan will be with us. He'll stay with
us till ten o'clock, even when coach Holmgren joins the
program at nine. So we will break down twenty six
nothing over the Vikings throughout today's radio show. The Rams

(18:17):
lost yesterday to the Carolina Panthers, for goodness sake, and
so we draw even record wise with the Los Angeles
Rams a top the NFC West. They still have the tiebreaker,
but we'll have a chance to average that out here
in a couple of weeks. Forty nine Ers also won yesterday,

(18:38):
and so that means there are six teams in the
National Football League with nine wins or more, and three
of them are in the same division, the NFC West.
At this point, we'll cover all of the week and
the National Football League coming up here at the bottom
of the hour with cold Turkey Sandwich a board of scores.
We'll also find some time to talk about Oregon Washington.

(18:58):
The Ducks win over the Husky's twenty six to fourteen Saturday.
I would call it competitive. I would say the better
team won, and certainly there are a lot of things
to discuss from that contest, A lot of concerning things
I think from the husky's perspective, But it didn't feel like, man,

(19:20):
we're are that close. No, but it did feel competitive
for most of the game.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
It was competitive. I said that to a buddy and he
goes that, don't say that. That's like that sounds like
a little brother when he whoops your big brother when
he whoops up on his little brother in the back. Like, well,
you were competitive. I wasn't trying to be passive aggressive.
It was competitive there. It came down to before that
there was kind of a game ceiling touchdown. It kind
of came down to it felt like, oh man, you better,

(19:47):
you better go down and do something here because it
felt like the momentum had shifted most certainly in the stadium,
so much better than last year's game. For you, Dub,
I think heading in the right direction. But I do
agree the best.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
I do agree. There were a lot of concerns.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Yeah, we'll get what was that, Buck, I think the
better team Okay, I thought you had a point.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
You were trying to get across all the better team one.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
You didn't want to stand in the way of that.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Since I think MIC's off, I couldn't hear what you said.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
Uh, conference Championship Week is this week. Organ's not playing
in that though, I'll tell you that much selection Sunday
is coming up for the second ever NCAA tournament in
college football, and we will find time to discuss the
Lane Kiff and Saga as he did, in fact take
the job at LSU, leaving Ole miss before their playoff begins.

(20:41):
The Kraken abbot won since last day was here, thanks
a lot, Ashley, Thanks Bucky.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
I feel like it's your fault.

Speaker 4 (20:47):
Yeah. Meanwhile, they will face off against Edmonton not until Thursday,
so a little bit of a break here, and the
winter meetings will start a week from today, a little
less than a week from today. Major League Baseball's hot
stove offseason continues. Coming up next though. On the radio show,
We've got Cold Turkey Sandwich. That's right, a board of

(21:09):
football scores for you as we recap the week in
the National Football League on Chuck and Buck Sports Radio
ninety three point three KJRFM for Man Rush, Stafford, Tex Buck.

Speaker 5 (21:24):
Down, the ball team Out, Derek Brown, my head and
DJ Robbin.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
The bobol flags come flying in at the end of
the play and Stafford talks ov untill twenty five left. Ah, Yes,
it's time for cold turkey sandwich. What are you gonna

(21:50):
do with those leftovers from Thanksgiving? I mean Bucky doesn't
have any on Monday. That's been made ververy evidence. Some
of you still have some turkey leftover? Will make a
cold turkey sandwich. A board of NFL.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Scores share with me, because yes, I have no more turkey,
the whole turkey.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
All right, well let's get into it. Yesterday in the
NFC West, some very interesting results. We'll start with the
highlight you just heard there from Was that from Westwood
Win Or is that the television high?

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Was the television high?

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Yeah? Yeah, yea, yeah, yeah, so that would have been
on the old Fox, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
Fox.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
Carolina won over the Los Angeles Rams thirty one to
twenty eight, and I would, as I would guess the
upset of the day. Dave Canalis might be throwing his
hat into the ring for Coach of the Year. Carolina
seems to be getting better with every single week, and
right now a seven and six record to beat the
Rams and to outplay them, that was not flukish. They

(22:49):
outplayed them, they outran them, they out threw them, and
they out defended them and I didn't think that was possible.
And then they only won by three point, but Los
Angeles now falls to nine and three on the season,
even though we might have seen the catch of the
year from Puka Nikua in that content.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Yeah, that was a crazy catch and it was interesting.
We talked a little bit last week about the Panthers
and how they're kind of in that group of who
are these guys? Right? I mean, they're six and six
going into that game. Who are they? Are they good
or not? I think that they're just one of those
teams that if you play them at their place, especially

(23:29):
that if you don't show up and strap it on,
then they can they can beach. At the same time,
they're a team that might end up rolling over if
you you know, you can get to Bryce Young and
get him for some mistakes. They did not do that yesterday,
and he looked. He looked as good as I've seen
him look as a quarterback. He's had a couple of
those games here recently. Here's what I think, Carolina. I
don't think they were a good team.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
I think they were a bad team, but they were
still finding ways to win a couple of games here
and there, and now all of a sudden, they're becoming
a good team and they're getting there, and so nice
win for them, thirty one to twenty eight the final score.
Rams still have the edge over the Seahawks in terms
of the divisional league because they had to head one

(24:11):
head to head matchup, but they have the exact same
record now at nine and three, and San Francisco is
just half a game back. They're gonna have their by
coming up this week, so we won't have to deal
with that half game any longer. But the forty nine
Ers got the chance to face Cleveland and Shader Sanders yesterday.
Forty nine Ers twenty six, Cleveland eight. Miles Garrett got

(24:32):
his nineteenth sack of the year. If he doesn't get hurt,
he's going to break the NFL sack record for a
single season, and he's going to shatter it. He's only
three away and we still have five games to go.
He could get five sacks in one game. We've already
seen it happen this year. Meanwhile, as I mentioned before,
there are six teams with nine plus wins in the
National Football League, and three of them are in the

(24:54):
damn NFC West.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Mm hmm, yeah, I mean San Francisco to be sitting
where they're sitting considering all the end injuries. I mean,
he got to be.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
Considered coach of the year Canada too. He's been amazing.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
There's a lot of guys that are kind of throwing
their hat in the ring this year, even though there's
no teams that are just jumping off the page. I
mean the Rams going into this week, where well, that's
probably the best team in the NFL. It's like once
you get you get that kind of thrust upon you,
then all of a sudden you're destined to stumble a
little bit. But yeah, there's a lot of teams in
the NFC West is packed.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Well, the NFC South or see me, the AFC South
is the new AFC West because suddenly it's packed at
the top as well. Houston's been on a roll as
of late. They got CJ. Stroud back. He threw for
two hundred and seventy six yards yesterday, and the Texans
improved to seven and five with a twenty to sixteen
win over division rival Indianapolis. Suddenly, the Colts are starting

(25:46):
to show some weaknesses after their incredible start to this season.
A lot of questionable calls in this game. We're going
to have quite the pack segment with Jeans terratory tomorrow.
I gonna tell you that much right now. But Houston
wins twenty to sixteen, and that allowed Jacksonville to jump Indianapolis.
So the Jaguars are now in first place in the
AFC South as they will face the Colts on Sunday.

(26:10):
Jacksonville won over Tennessee twenty five to three yesterday, so
Indy Jacksonville both eight and four. Houston sitting right there
at seven and five on the season, and the Colts
schedule the rest of the way is murderous, so they
I mean, they got off to that phenomenal start this year,
but their five remaining games are at Jacksonville, at Seaattle,

(26:35):
home to the forty nine ers, home to the Jaguars,
and at Houston. That's as tough as it gets the
rest of the way in the National Football League, so
they might not even make the playoffs. After a few
weeks ago, they look like the best team in the
National Football League. Miami is suddenly playing good football again.
They've won three straight, They've won four out of five.
They improved a five and seven on the season. They

(26:58):
edged the New Orleans Saints at home yesterday twenty one
to seventeen. New Orleans actually had a chance to tie
the game with a two point conversion. Instead, Tyler Shug
was intercepted and Minka Fitzpatrick took it the other way
for two points and the difference that Miami required for
the victory because New Orleans did work their way back

(27:18):
into field goal position, but they had to go for
it on fourth and one rather than win the game
because of that two point exchange.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Mm hmm, yeah, that killed me because I picked that
in Factor fiction. That's the first time that the Saints
have covered a spread the entire time, and I thought, oh, yeah,
we got this dialed in. Nope, they here come the Saints.
Tyler shuck. I mean, I guess better than what they
had been rolling out there. And yet the Dolphins tried
to cough it up. They did, they tried, but they won.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
They've won three straight now at this point, so it
might be what Miami Dolphins fans don't want. I'm not sure,
but Miami does win over New Orleans twenty one to seventeen.
New York Jets twenty seven to twenty four winners over
the Atlanta Falcons, who are playing as bad football as
anyone in the NFL right now. Of course, they're without
Michael Pennix Junior for the rest of the year. They've

(28:06):
lost six of seven games since they beat Buffalo, and
people thought, oh, Atlanta's ready to turn this thing around. Nope,
They've lost six of seven. They've lost their franchise quarterback,
and so the Seahawks will be facing a down trodden
Atlanta Falcons team this Sunday, four and eight. They lost
to the Jets, who have gone three and two since

(28:28):
their own seven start.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
That's good news the twelves, good news playing the Falcons. Yeah,
they look a bit rudderless at this point.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
Tampa Bay won twenty to seventeen over Arizona, so the
Buccaneers cut their nose above water despite all of the injuries.
I don't think anybody's had more injuries than what the
Buccaneers have been dealing with. They got Bucky Irvin back,
Chris Godwin back this week, and Baker Mayfield played through
an injured shoulder and they ended up winning by a

(28:57):
final score of twenty to seventeen. So they did keep
their nose above water. Now they seem to be getting healthier.
Tampa Bay might still be a viable threat. They continue
to lead the NFC South. The Buffalo Bills in Pittsburgh Steelers. Man,
that was about as ugly a game as you could
watch there for most of it, and then all of
a sudden, one of the teams started playing good football.

(29:18):
The Buffalo Bills pulled away in the second half, twenty
six to seven winners over Aaron Rodgers, who clearly broke
his nose in the game yesterday. Sort of a soul
searching kind of loss for Pittsburgh. They went into this season,
their fan base, the organization Mike Tomlin, tired of mediocre
results year after year after year. They expect more in Pittsburgh.

(29:39):
And here we are, after their hot start with Aaron
Rodgers at quarterback, and where are they the height of mediocrity?
Six and six, five hundred football team right now?

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Six and six and yet still somehow tied for first.
But I would have to think probably maybe the third
best team in that division, considering the Bengals just got
Joe Burrow back. But at form and eight they're still
in it, considering how bad the division is.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
Josh Allen scored his seventy sixth rushing touchdown.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Of his career.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
That is the new record in the NFL for most
rushing touchdowns by a quarterback and he is only twenty nine.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Wow, ye, all right, pretty good?

Speaker 4 (30:15):
How far is he going to take that record? For
goodness sake?

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Yeah, I don't like them. I'm a big fan of
his and he's in the.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
AFC Chargers thirty one to fourteen winners over the Raiders,
Pete Carroll. It was made official over the weekend. He
is on the hot seat. He's not gonna make it
to next year. The Chargers justin Herbert broke his left
hand in the game. Knowing him he could probably play
through a broken right hand. He's one of the toughest
dudes you'll ever see. Chargers are eight and four on

(30:44):
the year, and they do win over the Raiders and
maybe the game of the day, it was wildly entertaining
despite all of the penalty flags. Denver won over Washington
in overtime last night, twenty seven to twenty six. The
Broncos just keep winning. They're ten and two on the year.
Commanders great effort last night, Marcus Mariota going for the

(31:06):
two point conversion and the win in overtime. Apparently Denver
switched up their defense right at the last second, confused Mariota,
and he threw the ball right into the hands basically
of Nick Benito on the pass rush. So the Broncos
escape with another win twenty seven to twenty six.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
I lost years of my life watching that one. That
was an interesting game to watch. I mean, Mariota, the Commanders,
who have not been good, looked good on offense against
a good defense. It was they had a great game plan.
They just flat out We're gonna get rid of the
ball quick and early. I'm like, can you defend the
short pass? Then he's getting rid of the ball in
like a second. You don't have to, you know, cover

(31:45):
a forty yard play. They just didn't make a whole
bunch of adjustments, but did just enough to get the
w thank god.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
And of course, the Sunday wasn't as packed as it
normally is because three games on Thursday Thanksgiving. Green Bay
won over Detroit thirty one to twenty four, Cowboys by
a field goal over the Chiefs thirty one twenty eight,
and the Baltimore Ravens stunk up the joint against Cincinnati,
getting blown out by Joe Burrow and the Bengals thirty
two to fourteen. Friday Black Friday victory for the Chicago

(32:13):
Bears twenty four fifteen over the Philadelphia Eagles. The week
concludes tonight the New York Giants taking on the New
England Patriots. Monday Night Football right here at Sports Radio
ninety three point three KJRFM. Coming up next, Coach Bucky,
you will join us. We'll talk only Oregon Washington on
Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM. Last week of

(32:35):
Factor Fiction, so we got to be on our a
game this week and close this sucker out. We'll also
talk more about Lane Keifvin and of course at eight
o'clock Hugh Millen, nine o'clock Mike Holmer to talk more
about the Seahawks win over the Vikings yesterday twenty six
to nothing. But we don't have a lot of time
to talk today about Washington versus Oregon, so we're going
to use our Coach Bucky segment to do that. After all,

(32:58):
Coach Bucky has coached fotball college football for thirty five years.
Forty five. Yep, I was just doing head coach. But
you know, when you have.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
Well that's true. Yeah, I was only an assistant for
seven years. Then I became GM, and then I hired
myself and I was GM and coach for forty thirty
five years.

Speaker 6 (33:18):
Repressive it since you're only fifty two.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Yeah, I was a protege.

Speaker 4 (33:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
Cool.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
Well, one thing you haven't done, Coach Bucky is watched
the Oregon Washington game from the stands with your son.
How did that go? That was enjoyable?

Speaker 2 (33:32):
I did. I got to take Bear. We were going
to go tailgate with Ashley, and technology screwed us. She
sent me a pen where they were at. It said
inside the zone. Me and Bear went in there, got
a beer. Bear got a beer. I got a hot dog.
And then and then I'm like, where you guys at
And She's like, oh, we're out here, just go down,
and I'm like, oh, we're already inside. The phone took

(33:56):
us there. Anyways, It was fun still, so we wandered around.
He got every single thing you could possibly get from
the concession stands, and then it was wonderful except for
the morons that sat right around us. And there's not
a whole heck of a lot worse than you're then
just going to a game at an opponent place and

(34:16):
having bad fans around you unless you're on the in
enemy territory and you're surrounded by idiot duck fans like that.
There was four got on twenty four to twenty five
year old dudes that showed up. First they thought, oh,
you're in my seats to me and Baron, I'm like, no,
I'm not. And it come to find out they had
gotten two in this row and two in a different row,

(34:39):
and so they were wrong. And then they just thought
that they were on like putting on a show, like
they were talking real loud, and at one point apparently
they ended up getting caught talked to by the cops
downstairs when they went to the bathroom. It was a
whole bunch of stuff. It got ugly. At one point
I almost turned around and just they let them have it.
But I'm like, I don't need to get in a
fight with my son. This is poor memory we're trying

(35:01):
to do here. So I just for the most part
zipped it. But anyways, it was. There's My point is
it sucks sometimes when you have bad fans that are
cheering for the other team. It sucks even worse when
they're cheering for the same team you're cheering for, because.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
Then you're just disappointed.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
You're just like, God, you're an idiot.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
I can't even enjoy this.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
And they brought out the idiots that were wearing purple too.
Of course, I mean I was shrouded by some cool people.
The people alight around us were cool, with the exception
of them. But yeah, then they started popping off. The
Duck guys did, of course, and then a couple you
dub guys can go ooh oh, how many national championships
And then they're barking back and forth, and then one

(35:39):
guy makes fun of a birthmark on the other guy,
and I'm like, all right, you guys need to say
I ended up saying that that was one thing. I said, hey,
simmer down, that's it. Simmer down. And then he's like, sorry, dude,
sorry about that anybody. So it ended up fine. I
didn't have to beat anybody up, and it was my
son liked it, and the Ducks won, so it was great.

Speaker 4 (35:58):
The Ducks did win twenty six to fourteen. I'm just curious.
I'll give you a list of things that stood out
to me, and you tell me what was the difference
in the game. Was it third down, third and long defense?
I thought the Hosky's defense was great.

Speaker 5 (36:13):
Except on third and long, and then Dante Moore just
kept finding somebody and converting on third and long that
either extended to drive or ended up in the house.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
So Ryan Walter's defense, nice job. But third and long
defense they were atrocious. Was it not going to Adam
Mohammed More? He couldn't be stopped? And you know, it
was one of those things where like when you you know,
like whenever you don't go to a guy and the
defense is like, thank goodness they didn't give it to
that big giant running back again because he has been

(36:47):
murderous to tackle all day long. Only fourteen carries in
the game for him, and it didn't feel like he
could be stopped. Was it man schem? Can we scheme
open a receiver? Does Demon Williams? I know Oregon he's
got a very has a great defense, But does every
single throw he make have to be in a tight window?
Can we not? Even Max Brozmer had a few open

(37:08):
receivers yesterday against the Seahawks and they got shut out.
I don't feel like Demon Williams had an open receiver
the entire game, and then some crappy calls too against
Ephesian's price, So like that was a terrible call. So
what do you think, Maybe I didn't even include it
on my list. Coach Buggy, what would you say was
the number one reason why Oregon pulled away?

Speaker 2 (37:26):
All of those had a hand in it. I mean,
I think it boiled down to Demon Williams just having
a hard time finding guys open in the passing game, right,
and then there was the one interception in particular took
some points off the board, and it was the game
was tighter than what the final scorer looked like. Yes,
it it, and it was kind of crescendoing to Upset City,

(37:47):
it felt like. And yet it almost to me felt
like the Ducks hadn't been run on like that. So
kudos to Mohammad, kudos to you know, Fish for getting
that run game kind of dialed in like that. But
at some point you're still going to have to pass,
and so it did. The third downs thing I think
would be a big one because they would stop the
Ducks a couple different times when it was third and short,

(38:10):
you know, third and three, they would stop them. But
then it was third and nine and they would let
them convert, and so kind of a tip of the
captain Dante more into the Ducks for what they were
able to do to convert some of those, and then
on the other end of it, de Mon Williams just
didn't have anybody open. It felt like it. I mean,
the Ducks defense, their secondary in particular, is pretty tough
to pass against, and usually they're more stout in the

(38:33):
run game. But you Dub showed up with the emotion,
so trying to upset somebody. You know, it was a
rivalry game. I kind of felt it right off the bat,
and you know, they made a good game of it.
I think the better team won. I'm not saying that
to be snide. I just think the better team won.
And yet you're a couple different plays or weird calls
go in a different way and you might have had

(38:54):
a different aulem.

Speaker 4 (38:54):
I've had a different outcome in it. There was a
chance you felt like there was a chet they might
pull this thing off, and yet couldn't get it done.

Speaker 6 (39:01):
Well. Yeah, especially when you get that Boston touchdown and
then you're like, Okay, now we're in this, let's do
something we got some life in us after. I mean,
it sucked the sales out of the stadium when demand
through that interception in the end zone, but then to
get that later on and you're like, Okay, now we're cooking,
let's do this. And then three plays later they score

(39:21):
and it was like yeah, defleet.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
Yeah, all right, Well, we'll find some time. I'm sure
Hugh might want to talk about a little bit too,
but we'll find some more time later in the show
to discuss it. Coming out next though. Greg Bell, with
his reaction to the Seahawks shut out, went over the vikings,
plus your headlines on Kjar
