Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lazy and gentlemen, Ladies and gentlemen, behold in.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Sixty one guard from Brighton, Illanois and former high school
basketball stand. What in the hell does that mean?

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Don't jumped any conclusions.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
Not a god, You've got to lower lower your expectations.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Hard to believe he could once send a fastball to
plum getting some Bucky Jacobson vibes and former I'll just
openly admit I'm a fat, out of shaped ex athlete.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Now there's been a noticeable spike in your blood pressure.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Five seven guard and a former college water polo national chimpion.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Has a lot of useless crap up here.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
This is Chuck and Buck in the Morning with Ashley Ryan.
What to you buy to? They look casino resort and
quilse to Creek Draft cany sports book where the action
never stops.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Hey, good morning, Welcome into the radio show that is
called throughout the Heartland and beyond Chucking Buck in the
Morning Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM. Great to
have you with us here on this Thursday morning. We
got four hours with too much to discuss. Once again,
I was really going to I had two really fun
segments set aside to do today.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
A couple of goofy things got a little off the.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Sports track a little bit here today, but I don't
think we can afford to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
There's just too much serious sports going on out there.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Ain't nobody got time for that.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Ain't nobody got time for nothing these days.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
That is the truth.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Welcome into the radio program. My name is Chuck Powell.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Ashley Ryan is here as well, and hopefully you're doing
all right with all of the rain that is falling
here today. It has cost us a team member for
today's show, as Bucky Jacobson is not going to be
with us on today's program obviously. Living by a river
out in North Bend with so much rain, he's got

(02:11):
things to take care of around the household, and so
we won't have Bucky today. And for his sake and
for everybody's sake out there, I think the I mean,
you're the meteorologist on this program. I think what what
it shows on my phone? And my phone isn't the
same brick that I used to have.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Yeah, it's mostly updated, I think, mostly much better.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
We just got to get through pretty much the morning
into the afternoon, and then some of this and then
it's going to fade out.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
We My flood watch got updated till Saturday. It was
supposed to be over Friday at four, it got updated
till Saturday at four.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Well, I think the flood waters we just got to
deal with them until they recess in terms of like.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Getting rain, getting more rain. I think you're right.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
It was on my phone last night that it's done
by noon today. Yeah, and so from that point then
we can then the waters will recede and hopefully we
can return back to normal life. But I know, I
know how damaging all this has been on a lot
of people out there, including our own Bucky Jacobson, who's
nothing's wrong, nothing's wrong with him, but obviously he's got

(03:21):
to protect house and home and family here today and
is in one of those lower lying regions that also
is right via riverbank.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
Had he had to couldn't even drive his car up
to his house yesterday. Yeah, the water on the road.
So I hope that they're okay. I was a little
worried about them overnight because that water is right next
to their house.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Yeah, no doubt, no doubt. And raging a little bit
and we've got more rain falling as we speak. If
you're just waking up, it's raining hard again this morning.
So obviously that's priority number one, story number.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
One around here.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
But we will distract you with four hours of sports
nonsense during today's radio show. And so it is great
to have you with us on the program, so Ashley
and myself, but all sorts of great guests going to
be joining us today and we'll map that out with
what's on tap here in a matter of moments. The
story we're leading with, and there are two options here,

(04:15):
I mean, Philip Rivers is still just so fascinating. I
could lead for a third straight day with Philip Rivers
and the Colts quarterback situation. We will talk about it
for the end of the hour and we're gonna spend
a lot of time on it during the four hours
we are together. But the Sharon Moore story suddenly becomes
a big topic, and believe it or not, yeah, it's

(04:38):
a big story, and it's sensational, and it's you know, clickworthy,
and it's refresh worthy to find out if there's any
more information. It's scandalous, it's you know, it's everything. And
if you haven't heard about it. I'll detail it for
you here in a second. But also this has turned

(04:59):
into about as big a local story as we're dealing
with as well.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
Yeah right, when we just yeah, yeah, and the domino
effect of whoever takes the Michigan head coaching job now
and every single name being brought up has links to
the University.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Of Washington basically, yeah, And we'll get into an actual
discussion about it in a moment. But I woke up
this morning to the conversation about who's going to be
the next Michigan head coach and the only two names
that were discussed were Jetfish.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
And Kaylin de Boor believe it or not correct, And so.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
That seems to be where the media at least is
focused on as who might end up replacing Sharon Moore
Ann Arbor. And then I heard a third name on
the drive in Chris Peterson.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Oh okay, no way, sorry, he didn't coming out of coaching.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Allow that he's not allowed to kind of coaching to
go to Michigan.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
So we'll get into that aspect here in a moment,
because that's a really big deal and we'll be talking
about a lot today. And yet the story itself, just
to update you as much as we can, or maybe
inform you in case you did check out last night. Hey,
there's not much going on in the sports world. I'm
going to go pitch a tent in the backyard with
the kids. Maybe that's what you decided to do. And

(06:25):
now you're trying to come back and try to get
updated on your sports world. So yesterday, story breaks that
Sharon Moore has been fired with cause, and immediately you
start going to all right, what's happened?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
What scandal has broken out?

Speaker 4 (06:44):
And it turns out it didn't take long before we
found out that he was fired because of an inappropriate
relationship with a female on the staff. Yes, now, let
that lead your brain wherever you want to take it.
They have identified who the female is, so her face

(07:04):
is out there, her name is out there, and then
there are all sorts of these rumors out there as well. Now,
before we get to the rumors, which is always a
dangerous area for a sports talk show host, the actual
information that we know is that Sharon Moore did not
take this well.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
He got home, his wife didn't take.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
It well either, which is surprising.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
They ended up in a domestic dispute, and then Sharon
Moore drove to another person's house, broke into the house
and committed aggravated assault and ended up being arrested.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
And I don't know if he's been released from jail
or not.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
I have not heard that he has been released, but.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
He was arrested, mugshot the whole nine yards And so
that's as much as we know.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Noyes.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Now, what do we read into it? Kind of read
into it that whoever's house he broke into is maybe
the person that he blamed for leak in the story
to the university. Yeah, that's really great, classy of you
to commit this and then blame somebody else for actually

(08:17):
revealing how disgusting you've been.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
And yet so that's kind of what they believe it.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
And it stems back to the wife finding out the
information and then kicking him out. And it sounds like
Sharon more than decided to go blame all of his
mess on the person that squealed on him.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
That's what it sounds like.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
That's what it sounds like.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
And obviously, yes, there will get more information and we'll
be able to then have more facts versus our speculation
on what it does sure seem like it's pointed in
that direction. He is also a father of three daughters,
so their lives have been turned upside down. His wife's
life has been turned upside down, his wife his life
has been turned upside down by his own doing, and

(08:59):
the female staffer's life has been turned upside down.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Yeah, and it's just crazy. I mean, here you find
you reach the kind of the pinnacle of your career.
I can't imagine Sharon Moore ever thought he was gonna
have a better job than the head coach at the
University of Michigan. Yeah, and so here he gets it
and temptation leads him astray, and then his reaction to

(09:23):
this has pretty much flushed any opportunity that he'll ever
have to coach again. Not that that's the most important thing,
but we are a sports talk show host. We're not
doctor Drew here. So he's probably never gonna have the
opportunity to coach again. He's probably burned down his career
based off of his actions. Which, by the way, a

(09:45):
lot of coaches do stuff like that. A lot of
coaches do that stuff like that, maybe fewer now than
what they used to. Yeah, because of all the eyeballs
that are on them and social media and everybody's got
a cell phone. Now you probably see more less. You
see a lot less of that now than what it
used to be used to run rampant. And so this

(10:06):
is not unusual to Charon Moore that he would He's
not the first fall into this, Yeah, but the reaction
to it has probably burned his entire career down and
I'm not sure. And then whatever he can do with
his family life to try to repair things. He's not
gonna spend his life in jail.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
I'll say that.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
But Sharon Moore has certainly made his life worse with
his actions prior to yesterday and then his actions and
then his immediate emotional reaction to what he realizing how
much damage he had done to his life and to
his career.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
Yeah, and now yeah, he's going to be left to
pick up the pieces. And it's crazy when you think too,
just about his head coaching position and getting that job, right.
I mean, he got that job because Harbaugh was leaving
and the program was about to be in big trouble
for cheating, and they were like, well, yeah, we're gonna
just promote you because it made sense right, why not

(11:06):
keep someone that's in house versus who's going to want
to take this?

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Well, I won a national championship. Yeah, and so like,
why would we pivot away from this? The kids like more,
he's got the respect of the clubhouse.

Speaker 5 (11:18):
Blah blah, yeah, yeah, yeah, And but also they probably
were a little worried, like, who's you know, were we
might be in big trouble, so we our coaching candidates
might be less. So we've got this successful offensive coordinator
and he and the kids. Yeah, as you said, the
kids really like him, so let's do that. So he
ended up with this job that a lot of big
names are now being you know, talked about, and wor's

(11:41):
been at any time Harbaugh big name, I mean Michigan
a big program, and he he really had reached the top.
That's one of the top jobs in college football. With
our question and yeah, threw it all away. And Michigan
could have very.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
Easily started a coaching search when the harrorball left and
ended up with a much better, bigger name and much
more proven track record, but they wanted to reward Jim
Harbaugh's choice for successor, and things were going so well
for the program despite the scandal. They were winning despite
the scandal, and so he got the position, and now

(12:15):
Michigan gets to conduct its search for a coach. And
as I mentioned, this is where it becomes local because
all the names that are being brought up have ties
to Washington. Now I've heard Mentor the defensive coordinator, But
it sounds like Michigan wants to finally separate itself from

(12:38):
the Harball regime. The previous scandal with stallions and now
the current scandal with.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
More probably makes sense.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Yeah, so you know you're going to use your muscle
as a big name and a big brand to know,
go out there and cause all sorts of more ripples
to the college world because you know that when they
find their person, there's going to be a domino effect
because probably going to steal them from another program, and
then that guy's got to red replaced, and so here
we go again.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Yep, this is Lane Kiffin all over again.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
As a matter of fact, if I were Michigan, why
not call Lane Kiffin that Hoe will take the.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Next best job. Why not?

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Yeah him a little bit more?

Speaker 3 (13:17):
He hasn't.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
I mean, he he had a lot more invested in
Old miss than he does LSU and he left them
at the altar right before the playoffs. That guy doesn't
have a spine. He'll just go to the highest bidder.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
I mean we know that.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
And so so now they start their coaching search.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
But the names that are coming up, and again I
would just.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Say if if there's no interest on Jedfish's part, it's
unfortunate that his nomadic coaching lifestyle has led him to
be brought up his name to get dragged into every
coaching roomer.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
But this is Michigan and he's been there before.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
And if this is something that's on his checklist, I mean,
here we go again, and he is oldest, over and
over and over. He laughed it off when Softy had
him on the show on the station a week ago.
You will coach at Washington next year? Yes, I will
be at Washington next year. I mean that we could
play the clip for you. That was the response from him,

(14:17):
laughing and off we last before he knew that Michigan's
job was going to be open, and so sure enough
there's his name front and center along with Kaylen de
Boor and the craziest twist of events because remember before
Kaylen de bor left here Michigan was his dream job, yeah,
not Alabama. Michigan was the one job that people had circled.

(14:40):
And I think that he had said in the past
as the only job that he would leave Washington.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Yeah, because it was closer to where he was from.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
And so now here are both of them, and the
strangest twist of P and W fate, both of them
are the most prominent names being linked to being the next.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Head coach at Michigan. So here we go again.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
And as I said, Ashley, I mean, on one hand,
I do feel bad if you just if you truly
keep getting linked to these jobs because of how much
you've moved around and you're not at all interested, but
you just keep getting dragged back in. But on the
other hand, you've kind of earned this. We did or

(15:23):
Troy Danon did. Hire somebody with this reputation. And the
way that the college football world right now is set up.
I mean these coaches, man, these college coaches, they are
soulless man. I mean, if there is a little bit
of a better opportunity with a little bit more money,
they can't wait to be treated like a king again

(15:45):
at the new place, because you know there are a
lot of kids that moved around when they were young,
and it was tough being the new kid at school.
Unless you were really handsome or really pretty and really
like a good.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Athlete and a little end outgoing, then.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
You're the greatest thing ever, Like Elvis moved to your school.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Yeah, I know, and all the other boys sat around like,
what's so crude about this guy?

Speaker 4 (16:07):
You know? That's how I think these coaches. I think
they get addicted to feeling that way. Yeah, and so
and so here we go again. They're brought back up again.
And whether or not it's true whether Kaylin de Boor
would come on here and say, no, no, no, I have
no interest in that job, and it's ridiculous that I'm
being dragged in. He's being dragged in, and so is

(16:30):
Jedfish once again. So here we go, waiting out whether
or not we're going to have to start a coaching
search here in a month or.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
So, I know, which is it?

Speaker 5 (16:37):
We got Yeah, and you've got the transfer portal opening
in less than a month.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Yeah, what two and a half weeks, three weeks, three
weeks from now?

Speaker 5 (16:44):
It's I understand why Jedfish is getting brought up, you know,
with Florida and the connection and the Steve Spurrier thing
and the all of that, and now with Michigan, and
he's been an assistant there, and I understand, but it
is frustrating as a call football fan to think like, Okay,
well we made it through.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
These things, now all of a sudden things.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
I mean, I kind of said to myself as I
was listening to one of the shows before us on
our way in and they had a guy on from Detroit.
He brought up Kaylen de Bor and Jed Fish and
he's like, those are the two options that makes the
most sense. Kaylan de Bor is not a good fit
at Alabama. It makes more sense for him to return
to the Midwest. And then he said, and Jedfish, he
can raid the Washington program and head over there.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
I got so mad because that's what would happen again.
And all I said, I said, Yeah, I said to myself,
I'm so over college football.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
If this is what keeps happening.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
Yeah, Demon Williams is we have to start a quarterback
search if this happened.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
And again, this isn't anything that Jedfish has done has
said yes, right, this is just speculation on the media.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
So I'm not saying like, oh my.

Speaker 5 (17:50):
Gosh, I hate Jed Fisher, I hate this. It's just
this ongoing speculation. And then if that does happen. Yeah,
every year one program, five programs, however, many coaches are
leaving are getting screwed.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
I mean, it's just annoying.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
And as much as we didn't like what the players
and the power that they got, it's the coaches are
the ones to blame for all of this. They're supposed
to be the adults in the room. We need to
slap rules on them. We're always trying to slap rules
on player movement.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Let's slap my.

Speaker 4 (18:22):
Rules on coaches movements so that we don't have to
go through this. And yet this is where this is
where we're at. And I wouldn't be surprised if we
didn't find out later today the Jetfish is the head
coach in Michigan. Wouldn't be surprised. I'm not predicting that.
I don't have any information.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Nothing surprises me these days.

Speaker 4 (18:38):
Nothing surprises you. Ye hell, I wouldn't be surprised. I
was joking about it. Lane Kiffin became the next head
coach and.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Be surprised Kaylin de Boor will be surprised.

Speaker 4 (18:46):
Leaves Alabama to go take Michigan. I mean, all of
these things are possibilities, and then the ripple effect is
going to be felt. And then what will Washington do
if it does happen. They'll go steal somebody from somebody else,
and then that person will raid their own program and
bring all of them to Washington, and we started all
over again. So yeah, it's it's a messy landscape, there's
no question about it. And boy, we sure had fun

(19:09):
ripping the players for taking advantage of their newfound power.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
I think we need to really.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Take a look at how coaches can move around so easily. Yea,
and without any punishment. I think that that could be.
It won't be, but it should be the next step.
And trying to make sense now of this a great
game of college football. All right, So there's a lot
more to discuss. We'll get to it later on in
the show. Let's find out what else was on tap?

Speaker 1 (19:36):
What's on tip?

Speaker 2 (19:38):
What's on tep?

Speaker 4 (19:39):
All right, So Sharon Moore is out at Michigan amid scandal,
and of course more jetfish rumors have popped up about
him possibly leaving Washington, and they are just rumors. There's
nobody that has any factual information on that front. In
the meantime, I guess Jedfish is getting ready to coach
the LA Bowl which is coming up. Also coming up

(20:00):
Army Navy this Saturday, and the Heisman Trophy will be
announced this Saturday. And they're sure is a groundswell of
Diego Pavia support.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
It feels like every.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Analyst that I'm hearing get interviewed is picking Pavia. Now.
Whether or not the nine hundred and fifty voters are
influenced the same way, I'm not sure. But this might
not be the slam dunk that we thought it was
the night that Indiana was holding up the Big Ten
Championship trophy. We thought Fernando Mendoza had locked it up.
But that might not be the case. Seahawks getting ready

(20:34):
for the Colts this Sunday at one twenty five. And yes,
not only might Philip Rivers, forty four year old Philip
Rivers be in uniform, most people believe. Most people believe
right now that he's going to start the game Sunday
against the Seahawks. And we'll talk about that in our
next segment. Week number fifteen of the National Football League

(20:56):
season starts tonight with Atlanta against Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay
getting a couple weapons back. Mike Evans is going to
be back for them, so is former UW receiver Jalen McMillan,
and so Tampa Bay and Atlanta, and of course, fantasy
football playoffs start for a lot of people tonight, so
I would imagine there's going to be a pretty good
audience for that alone. Kraken, we'll talk about this later

(21:17):
this hour. Boy did they need that win three to
two and overtime over the Los Angeles Kings, a late
goal in regulation to tie it, an overtime goal on
a power play four on three power play from Vince Dunn.
It was a thing of beauty and the Kraken get
a much needed win last night against the Kings. And
the Major League Baseball Winner meetings did conclude yesterday not

(21:40):
a lot of activity, pretty much zero trade activity, and
yet three big free agent signings while the GMS were
down in Orlando. Yesterday's was Pete Alonso signing way too
large of a contract with the desperate Baltimore Orioles, who
decided we're finally going to spend money this year and
then they overspent. I don't think Pete Alonso's worth thirty

(22:02):
one million dollars a year, but he is a Baltimore
oriole right now. We'll talk a little bit about that
later on in the show. But coming up next, is
Philip Rivers really going to get the start Sunday against
Mike McDonald's defense.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
I can hardly believe I'm saying it. We'll discuss it.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
It's Chuck and Ashley with you Sports Radio ninety three
point three KJRFM.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
I'm kind of glad.

Speaker 4 (22:21):
I've kind of like I'm building up my anticipation to
hear Hughes thoughts on Philip Rivers. And he's not the
only former quarterback that we're gonna hear talk about Philip
Rivers today. Kurt Warner is going to join us today
at seven forty, so excited to get his thoughts on
it as well. I don't think we can talk about
this Philip Rivers situation too much. It's incredible. And Greg

(22:43):
said this yesterday, and I was even hearing it before
Greg had said it. It really does sound like he's
going to start. It's insane, that's impossible, right, it seems
like it. I'm I can't wait to ask Kurt and you.
I just think that that sounds impossible. And I mean

(23:05):
he he had his press conference yesterday and he looks
all pie faced.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
I mean, says Dad Gummett.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
I'm sure that Philip Rivers has kept himself in pretty
decent shape. Otherwise he would never attempt this. But there's
no doubt that he's. Uh, he's he's.

Speaker 5 (23:23):
Done a lot of eating since he asked him what
his weight was and he's like, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
And he was wonderful in it.

Speaker 4 (23:30):
And I realized that people got tired of his whiny face,
and he talked a lot, and he had an unorthodox
throwing motion. A lot of people didn't like Philip Rivers.
He was not a Philip as fans, but he's very likable,
very likable, and he reminded us of that in his
press conference yesterday.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Yeah, he said, you.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Know, I really don't know how much I weigh. Let's
just safe to say more.

Speaker 5 (23:54):
Yeah, I feel like after this he's going to end
up with a reality show.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
He might with a ten kids, thirty eight grand be like,
you know what, Well, we should start following this guy.
With cameras.

Speaker 4 (24:05):
I can't imagine that he can. I mean, this is
the if he can. If he can come off the
couch and in three days be ready to play and
play somewhat effectively in the NFL, then we have way
over hyped how difficult this league is. Yeah, no, and
way over hype And I don't think we have I
think the league is incredibly difficult. And I think if

(24:27):
you miss a year and try to get back to the.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Speed of things, it's very difficult to.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
Miss five years to be twenty five pounds heavier than
you were the last time you played. You have no
idea what the speed of the game is like now,
because it's it's faster than what it was. And then
once you've stepped away from something and then you lose
your timing to have to step back onto the field

(24:56):
with nothing but practice reps. I don't give a damn
how how much he knows the offense or has studied
the offens or he and Shane Steiken have been sharing
details on the offense for the last five years because
their friends and he runs it at the high school program.
How in the holy f are you going to be

(25:17):
able to simulate an NFL defense, much less what the
Seahawks are doing the teams right now and what Mike
McDonald could do to you. Mike McDonald has baffled Matt Stafford,
who is the MVP.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
Of the league right now.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
What is he going to do to a guy that
hasn't played in the National Football League in five years,
is twenty five pounds heavier, and his reaction time has
no doubt dulled since last he played.

Speaker 5 (25:44):
Well, I don't know, and I told you yesterday, I
don't feel bad he's putting himself in that.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Situation, So I don't. No, I know you don't. I
know you don't.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
But as I've been thinking about it, I'm like, maybe
I do feel a little bad for him.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Should they just put like flags on him?

Speaker 3 (25:57):
And that just well, he even addressed that.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
He goes, He goes, I'm not stupid in essence, I'm paraphrasing.
I know it doesn't look logical, and I know I'm
not entirely ready for this, but I think but I'm
going to give it a shot. Just like you said earlier,
he said, when Steichen said you wanted, what do you think?

Speaker 3 (26:18):
He goes, Dad Gumman, let's freaking go.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
Ye, and that's sort of his personality, and it's a
great story.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
Even if he fails, it's a great story.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
It's just really.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
Hard for me to believe that the Indianapolis Colts don't
think more highly of Brett Rippin, who knows the system
is younger, has been playing football for consistently for the
last few years, or even just trot's out Riley Leonard
out there to give him a go on a bum.
It's really hard for me to believe that Philip Rivers

(26:49):
is the best option for the Indianapolis Colts to save
their season at age forty four, and more importantly, because
Aaron Rodgers playing in the game at forty two. It's
not that much difference. Just because as Philip Rivers started
having children at you know, twelve, Yeah, just because he's
a grandpa, yeah, and Aaron Rodgers has not decided to
have children yet. Doesn't mean that there's much difference in
the age there, but five years removed. And then the

(27:13):
other thing is you have not taken a hit in
five years. I mean, I look, once upon a time
I was about as good as shape as you can
be in as a thirty three year old. I mean,
I was ripped, and so I was in the gym
two hours a day. You know, low body fat, muscled,

(27:39):
you know, six' one two ten with about five percent body. Fat, well,
okay that's that's the SHAPE i was in in my early.
Thirties and we started to play a pickup football game On,
saturdays and there was no QUESTION i was in the
best shape of anybody out, there even though some of
them were ten fifteen years younger than. Me and yet

(28:00):
WHEN i got up the next, MORNING i couldn't even.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Walk, yeah because even THOUGH.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
I had been working, out and even Though i'd been
DOING i wasn't using the muscles that were required to
play even flag. Football so Here's Philip. Rivers, yeah five years,
removed and On sunday is going to get smashed over
and over and over again By Leonard williams And Boye

(28:29):
mafe And Byron murphy And Ernest jones And nick Emn.
Worrie how can you you.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
Have no, Idea there's no way five years later that
you can remember.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
How those hits take a toll on you and you
haven't had one in five. Years like what he's getting
ready to do just seems unfathomable to, me it really.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
Doesn't i'm actually sad that it's happening against The seahawks
because in any other, situation if he was playing any other,
Team i'd be rooting for him to see what great
thing he could. Accomplish but in this, Case i'm gonna
be rooting for him to get crushed and then probably
feeling bad that he's getting.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
Crushed if he is even, okay it's a. Miracle, yeah
it's A christmas.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Miracle.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Yeah if he's even performs admirably and keeps The colts
in the, GAME i just can't imagine that it's.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
POSSIBLE i want to see.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
It you'll ask Her warner about it. Later we'll ask
You milling about it. Later coming up next on the, Program,
man it might have been the biggest win The kraken
have had all season.

Speaker 3 (30:31):

Speaker 4 (30:33):
About Philip, rivers The colts and The seahawks getting ready
to do battle This. Sunday certainly more on The Sharon
more STORY i it affects us coming up at the
top of the, hour but we had to spend some
time on The kraken's biggest win of the. Year that
highlight was your mic delivery of the, game last night's

(30:54):
top call from The Kraken Audio, network brought to you
by McDonald's ordering the food you crave With Mick delivery
as all whole new way to love. McDonald's order directly
from the McDonald's app and select make delivery today and

wasn't looking good the crack and we're trailing late two
to one to a very Good La kings team At

(31:15):
Climate Pledge arena and with twenty six seconds left in regulation,
Play Ellie tolvenen sets Up Maddy benier's who kind of
flips the puck over the goaltender and into the net
to tie.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
It that felt like it was worth fifty. Goals that one,
Goal you're, like oh, wow.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
That opens up the window to win this. Game and
they did end up winning the game on a four on.
Three so got a power play where.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
You got the drew the. Penalty, yeah you.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
Actually add a guy in overtime they start three on
three and then if there's a, penalty you don't subtract,
somebody you add. Somebody so it was four on three
And vince done with one of the most beautiful selihots
you'll ever. SEE i, mean it was picture, perfect and
it scores the game winner and sending everybody into a,
frenzy including every.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
Now yeah it.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
WAS i MEAN i was laying in bed watching, it
like basically holding my eyes up And i'm, like just
make it all the way till the end of.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
This and when we.

Speaker 5 (32:18):
Scored because ORIGINALLY i was talking To bucky on the
phone earlier and we'd scored a second goal and he,
goes oh, goal and then they took it. AWAY i was, Like,
oh please don't have this, again because it was just
like the game before Where Ty cartier has the goal
over the back doesn't, count AND i, Thought, oh we
can't handle this. Again we need to get a. Win
these guys need a, win and you could tell they

(32:39):
needed that.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Win, YEAH i, MEAN i don't.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
Know we always throw away throw around phrases like must
wins and stuff like, that and we do it way
too early in the. SEASON i tend to be of
the mind that until it's mathematically a must, win you
don't call it a must. Win but that doesn't always.
Apply there are some wins out there that really do

(33:02):
sort of save you from spiraling completely out of, control
or perhaps a win that.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Seems to be so significant that it sparks a.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Turnaround that was one of those, wins And i'm not
sure which one it. Was i'm just Gonna i'm gonna have,
to on the safe, side say that it feels to
me like one that kept us from spiraling completely out of.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
CONTROL i don't know.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
IF i, mean we don't have any evidence obviously to
even suggest that it's going to spark some sort of hot,
streak but at least it kept us from another loss
at home in crushing fashion, yep and kept this team
from thinking about until it could play, again that they
are riding this lengthy losing. Streak it really felt like

(33:53):
it saved this team from losing the season last.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
Year. Yeah, absolutely especially you have the, captain you have
evererly AND i think it was McCann two talking to
the team the night before and or after the game
before and say we've hit rock, bottom called them. Out,
yeah we've got to be better than. This we've got
to be. Trying if you give that speech to your
team and then they come out and lose, again it's
just another kick in the. Gut and so for them

(34:17):
to have tied that game late and just to send
it into, OVERTIME i felt like was that part was the,
Boost BUT i have for them to have actually gotten the,
win because, goodness it seems like they've had a lot
of overtime. Losses just felt like at least they could
breathe a little, bit take a deep.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
Breath it really felt like to me that is when
they did tie it, Up i'm, like we're going to
win this. Game, Yeah AND i have not felt that
way in a few GAMES i was nervous for The
kraken so big win last, night three to two over
The Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
KINGS i think Even bucky would.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
AGREE i would agree for, YOU i think he would all.

Speaker 4 (34:51):
