Speaker 1 (00:00):
Broadcasting live from the Queen Anne Beer ho This is
the twenty sixth annual Muller and Millin Mock Draft, presented
by Coors, Light by R and R Foundation Specialist and
brought to you by Queen Anne Beer Hall and Delta Airlines.
Now with Commissioner Dick Vane at the podium, Here's Hugh
Millan and Dave Sufdey Muller.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
All right, we are back here at the Queen Anne
Beer Hall for the annual Mahler Millin Mock Draft. Big
thanks to our friends at Frostbury Corps, Light, Delta Airlines,
Taco Time, Simply Seattle, and R and R Foundation Specialists.
We are sitting here at the mock draft and we
are through pick number fourteen so far in the mock draft. Actually,

(00:44):
I'm sorry, we are through pick number thirteen. The Miami
Dolphins just took Will Campbell at thirteenth overall out of LSU.
That puts the Indianapolis Colts now on the clock at
number fourteen. Let's get to the cores, like cold hard
facts on the Colts eight and nine last year. Shane
steike And is now in year three as the Colts
head coach and hopes to have second year quarterback Anthony
Richardson available all year long, but just in case, they

(01:06):
did sign Daniel Jones and free agency ufter he was
cut by the Giants and signed with the Vikings practice squad.
Colts have three wide receivers who started forty six games
combined last year, and all three went over eight hundred yards,
but none of them, between Alec Pierce, Josh Downs, and
Michael Pittman, is a real star. Their best pass catching
tight end, Kaylan Gronson, is now an Eagle, and they

(01:28):
lost two starting offensive linemen and Will Fries and Ryan
Kelly to the Vikings. Colts did sign some help for
the defense though in free agency, grabbing corner Charvarius Ward
and safety Cameron by Them in free agency.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Let's find out.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
One now with the Colts two at number fourteen through
the podium, we go and Commissioner Dick Faine here at
the annual Mahler Millen Mock Draft.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
With the fourteenth pick in the twenty twenty five NFL Draft,
the Indianapolis Colts select Jihad Campbell, edge Alabama gie hot.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Campbell is the latest pick in the draft edge rusher
out of Alabama as now member of the Colts. Interesting
that they had all the wide receivers on the board
and they didn't take any of them. They went for
Giot Campbell out of Alabama. Played wide receiver in high school,
by the way, and defensive end five sacks. Had one
hundred and seventeen tackles for kalb to Bor last year
six three, two thirty five, first team All SEC. Flip

(02:24):
from Clemson to go play for Alabama. Jihad Campbell is
now a cult at fourteen.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Yeah, and I think this is a situation where the
Colts they go more best available player than a position
a need. I don't think they're overwhelming linebackers for the Colts.
You got their mic, they got Zaire Franklin. They got
the willbacker, which is really what Giadd Campbell is. Jaylen
Carle's he's a draft picked fifth rounder last year, played

(02:52):
pretty decent. But I think that you're looking at really
for this draft, there's really only one off ball linebacker
that is certifiable to be a first round draft pick.
So here the Colts. They wait till the fourteenth pick
and they get a guy who's at six foot three,
two hundred and thirty five pounds, are just a tremendous athlete,

(03:16):
ninety second percentile on the forty yard dash, ninety third
percent on the ten yard to subtle, ninety fourth percentile
on the broad and then when you watch him play,
a tremendous tackler, notable striking power, very impressive wingspan, length,
movement to the football, a high just a high energy,

(03:37):
sick the ball type of a guy, really impressive ability
in stinct of his zone coverage. He can be guilty
of taking on on tackles a little too high, Dave,
but and that'll cost him. So you know, he ends
up in the mid round here. I think in part
because of the devaluing of the position. I don't think
he's a green dot Mike with the communication. I think

(03:58):
that he's better suited as a will weinbacker. But he's
a guy who can run sidelines, the sideline and play
with a lot of physicality.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yeah. Well, g Hud Campbell is the latest selection out
of Alabama. Goes to the Colts there at number fourteen.
That puts the Atlanta Falcons and our guy Michael Pennix.
Now while the clock at number fifteen. The Corps light
code hartfacts on the Atlanta Falcons eight and nine last year.
After year one, Raheem Morris, head coach, said that's enough

(04:26):
of Jimmy Lake fired him after one year, and they
gave up the second most passing touchdowns had the second
few of sacks in the NFL. Falcons gave up thirty
points or more and four of their last seven games
and missed the playoffs. Michael Pennix now QB one in Atlanta,
and his top four pass catchers plus running back beje
On Robinson are all back. However, tight end Kyle Pitts

(04:46):
in the last year of his deal in a fifth
year option, and Ray Ray McCleod in the final year
of his contract as well. Falcons did not have a
player last year with more than six sacks, but signed
Letter Floyd and free agency away from the forty nine
ers after an eight eight and a half sacks season.
They did lose starting center Drew Dolman and defensive tackle
Grady Jarretto in free agency, both to the Chicago Bears.

(05:08):
Let's find out what the Atlanta Falcons now do on
the clock here at number fifteen in the annual Moler
Millen mocked Draft of the Podium, we Go and Commissioner Faine.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
With the fifteenth pick of the twenty twenty five NFL Draft,
the Atlanta Falcons select Matthew Golden wide receiver Texas.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Matthew Golden wide receiver out of Texas. Okay, so we
just talked about the problems they have on defense. Uh,
They've obviously got some decent wide receivers, including Drake London,
but they do have Raymy McLeod in the last year
of his deal. As we said, this guy fifty eight
catches nine eighty seven nine touchdowns versus Georgia and the
SEC Championship eight for a buck sixty two versus ASU

(05:48):
with a quarter seven for a one hundred and forty
nine at a touchdown, didn't do much against Ohio State
in the semi two for fifty one ran a four
to two nine. By the way, this guy's five to eleven,
one to ninety one and now he's a Falcon.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Well, I guess, Dave, this is just what the Falcons do, right,
I mean, this is what they do. They think they're
playing fantasy football because this is who they keep drafting.
They got, they got a quarterback. These are these are
first only first rounders that I'm gonna talk about in
recent years, a quarterback Michael Pennix, a wide receiver Drake
London at tight end my pits yep right, a running

(06:25):
back in Bijon Robinson. Oh, okay, to round out our
fantasy team, let's take another first round draft pick and
let's get another receiver in Golden. So look and and
here's what we'll do. We'll just talk about all of
our problems on the defensive side of the ball, how
we can't get to the quarterback, and then every April
we'll draft a I don't understand what the Falcons are

(06:47):
are are doing here. I mean, I'm a Falcon alum,
but that doesn't mean thing because I'm a lump from
several teams. Okay that that so, I don't like the
organizational statement to what it says to those defensive players
where they're rolling their eyes right now, going, really, we
got another skill guy. But let me just talk about

(07:10):
Matthew Golden because he's an interesting cat in the following regard. Now,
he's he's a shorter guy and what's what do we
got him at at the combine? Exactly exactly five to eleven?
But he plays big. He has a knack for going
up to get the ball high. He plays strong in
terms of because very precise, I mean his his strength

(07:33):
in his legs is evident in how he runs his routes,
very crisp, and and you think of him at that
height as being a slot guy. Seventy six point of
his snaps where wide receiver, just twenty three point nine
percent in the slot. And he came on at the end,
averaged one hundred and three yards a game in the
last four throughout through the SEC Championship game, the playoffs,

(07:55):
so you can feel like he's still coming on.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
He started his career at Houston.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
He had forty percent of his snaps at Houston were
either go balls or hitches, and so he expanded his
route tree. I think he's a player on the rise.
As you said, he plays that speed four point twenty
nine for receivers pretty good, even his ninety eight percent
of But I mentioned the stature. His arm length of

(08:22):
thirty and five eighths just the twenty fourth percentile. So
shifty runner the speed to get over the top, but
he lacks the size and he's not over the creative
as a runner after the catch like some of the
other guys. But you know good receiver, I just don't
like the fit with the foul.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Right well, Matthew Golden Texas is the first wide receiver
taken in the annual Model Millen Mock Draft and he
just went to Atlanta there at number fifteen. That puts
Arizona now on the clock course like Coldhart facts on
Arizona eight and nine last year, year three for head
coach Jonathan Gannon went from four wins in twenty twenty
three to eight last year. And you know Kyler Murrays

(09:04):
and year number seven already in the NFL, still looking
for his first playoff win nine games under five hundred
is a starting quarterback. Cardinals signed Josh Sweat away from
the Eagles defensive end defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson for the
Browns also brought back Kalais Campbell for what's going to
be a tenth year as a Cardinal in eighteenth year
in the NFL. Cardinal's top pass catcher last year was

(09:25):
Trey McBride, who was now the highest paid tight end
in the history of the NFL, and as of right now,
they're starting left guard. His former Seahawk is an evanor
Ethan Brown whatever the hell his name was. He is
now the starting guard for Arizona as of right now.
I'll see what the Cardinals now do. At number sixteen
on the clock to the podium we go. Here's Commissioner
Fane to pick us in for Arizona and the annual

(09:47):
Maler millen Bock Draft.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
With the sixteenth pick in the twenty twenty five NFL Draft,
the Arizona Cardinals select Teturoa McMillan, OOH wide receiver Arizona.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Okay, so they just took marvinck excuse me, they just
took Marvin Harrison junior number four a year ago, and
now they've taken tep McMillan. So they've got all the
pass catchers they need for Kyler Murray six four two
twenty eighty four catches, thirteen hundred yards, eight touchdowns last
two years for Arizona, one hundred and seventy four twenty

(10:16):
seven hundred yards, eighteen touchdowns for tet McMillan. May not
necessarily be a giant area of need for them, but
they do have a batman to robin now with Marvin
Harrison and this guy.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Yeah, I think Marvin Harrison was a little bit of
a disappointment. I think a lot of people expected just
a little bit more chew, some productivity from him. So look,
Michael Wilson on the other side, could you argue there's
a need I don't know. I just think philosophically, going
back to back on wide receivers, it seems a little off.

(10:48):
But again with the bid Wolves, they've always been off, right.
I mean we just say there's always a bien one
of muck things. Well, it's just and I don't know,
it just seems like if you were to say, say, okay,
what are kind of one of the most middling, dysfunctional
franchises in the NFL, the Cardinals would come in the
top three four every time. Let's talk about Ted McMillan,

(11:09):
California State player of the Year in twenty twenty two.
Now there's some we've said Colston Lovelin was the Idaho
player of the year. Okay, this is the California player
of the year. And so he goes to Arizona, the
highest recruit in the history of Arizona. He went with

(11:30):
Noah Tafeda, his high school quarterback at Survey and he
could have left by the way. So I think there's
a loyalty piece in there. In twenty twenty three, he
had the lowest drop rate among all Power five receivers
with at least one hundred targets, just two point one percent.
Initially he ran goal balls and hitches, but he losed

(11:53):
His route tree expanded over the course of his Arizona career,
which was very consistent, and he had thirty seven starts
no missstarts from injury. He's a big dude in the
mold of a Drake London, six foot four and eight
two hundred and thirteen pounds, and so if he's if

(12:15):
he's not gonna make it. I don't compare him to
many other receivers other than I would just say he
was a Drake London who wasn't as good as a
Drake London. Drake London was the six to four receiver
who's now with the Falcons first round draft pick, I
believe the eighth overall, a top ten pick, and the
Falcons have been happy with that pick. Drake London was
a basketball player at USC You've got a volleyball and

(12:37):
basketball player. Now now this guy coming from Hawaii, this
guy's an elite volleyball player. I think that's actually relevant
because I think volleyball, when you consider how fast that
game goes, the hand eye coordination, it shows when he
plays football. This guy has just the most natural hands.

(12:59):
Everything coming at him is like a pillow, and so
he's got great hands. He converts his catches to being
a runner, and he as a runner, he improved now
this is off of the GPS satellite. On the GPS
tracking on his older bats, he increased his max speed

(13:20):
from nineteen point eight miles to twenty one point eight
miles per Now he increased his speed by two miles
an hour. He only ran a four to five to two.
So there's some concerns and you look at the tape,
the long, long speed and getting off the press, those
are some questions. But he's got a Gumby like body
control and as I said, beautiful hands and conversion to

(13:45):
I don't want to say, a deadly run after the
catch guy, but a very efficient run after the catch guy,
particularly for a guy his size. One of the more
interesting players in the draft. I like the receiver. I
don't like him going to the Cardinal.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Yeah, when they now have Marvin Harrison, Drey mcbrie and
Michael Wilson playing wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals. Because
Tet McMillan just went to the Cardinals at sixteen and
our annual maler Millan mock all right, that means the
Seahawks are two picks away. But before that, the Bengals
now are on the clock at number seventeen. Course, like
cold Heart facts baby on Cincinnati, our engineer Mitch, he's

(14:20):
a Bengal fan. I mean, who even knows a Bengal
fan has one right there by the way nine and
eight last year missed the playoffs, third place in the
AFC North, but end of the year hot, winning five
in a row. Bengals signed their top two receivers, Chasing
Higgins the massive extensions Joe Burrow Chase Higgins all signed
through at least twenty twenty eight, so that threesome is

(14:41):
together for a while. They lost Alex Kappa Garden free agency.
Bengals need some help on defense though twenty fifteen points,
allowed twenty fifth and sacks and allowed the fourth most
passing touchdowns all season long. To the podium we go.
The pick is it the Bengal I'm the clock at
number seventeen, and here's Commissioner Faine with the pick.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
With the seventeenth pick of the twenty twenty five NFL Draft,
the Cincinnati Bengals select Will Johnson, cornerback Michigan.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
So I got a little PTSD for Will Johnson. You
know why if you're a.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Husky pan Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Remember the interception the third quarter that Michael Pennix threw
to start the second half. This guy picked it off. Man,
this guy, I'm going in there in the second half.
Think we're down fourteen to ten, We're gonna win this game. Yeah,
and then Will Johnson showed his fat face and the
Huskies lost. He was the defensive MVP in that game
against U dub nineteen passes, defense, nine picks in thirty
two games. He was the number one high school player

(15:40):
in the state of Michigan sixty two a buck ninety four.
Will Johnson is now a Bengal. How about that? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Well, when you talk about need, the Bengals had a
corner in Remember he played against the Seahawks, Taylor Britt.
This dude was just cam. Taylor Britt was a horse.
But I would say I don't think there's a team
in the NFL that couldn't use a corner. And when
you look at this guy, Will Johnson, excuse me, uh,

(16:07):
top tier coverage instincts and uh and his football character.
He has great size at almost six two six one
and three quarters. He has great instincts in zone. He
has the ideal stature, coverage versatility. He could be inside,
he could be outside. I would just say the one

(16:28):
thing about him is that he lacks the top end
speed and so when you think about him playing on
the outside, Okay, his forty times was a four five
six that is in the twenty fifth percentile. So so
I think that if you play his own scheme and
you allow his instincts to you know, let him read

(16:51):
the past route combinations, high football IQ, high character guy.
I think that's how you want to play. If you
want to just be press outside, help over the top,
and don't allow him to read the quarterback, just put
his eyes on the receiver and chase down the field.
I don't think that plays to his suit. But I
think where we are in the draft, yep, I think

(17:11):
there's a good pick. Yeah, and for a team that
probably needed the cornerback.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Again, they have fourth most passing touchdowns allowed all year
long last season, so definite need there. Will Johnson is
now a Bengal from Michigan. That means the Seahawks around
the clock at number eighteen. We'll find out what they do.
Recap the entire draft so far. The annual Maler Millan
Mock continues. Queen Enn beer Hall next on ninety three
three KJRFF.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
How bad to the twenty sixth annual Muller and Millan
Mock Draft, presented by cors lit Are and our foundation
specialists and brought to you by Queen Anne beer Hall
and Delta Airlines. On Sports Radio ninety three point three
kjr FM.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
We are back if A Briandanne beer Hall for the
annual Maler Millan Mock Draft. Big thanks to our friends
at Frostbured Corps, Light out to Airline's Taco Time simply
Seattle Are, and our foundation specialist of course Humullan for
providing all the insight that simply nobody else in the
world can offer. We are through pick number seventeen. Let's
recap it real quick. That puts the Seahawks on the clock,

(18:14):
by the way at eighteen, so don't go anywhere Camboard
Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter won two, three, No shock there.
Then Ashton Jenny went to the Patriots at number four,
Mason Graham the Jaguars at number five. Raiders took Tyler
Warren to the chagrin of Hugh Millen. Armond Membo offensive

(18:35):
tackle Missouri went to the Jets at number seven. Panthers
took Jalen Walker, edge rusher from Georgia at number eight,
Carolina Michal Williams, edge rusher Georgia, number nine to the Saints.
Bears took Colston Lovelan from Michigan. Niners went edge rusher
Shamar Stewart from A and M at number eleven. Calvin
Becks junior offensive tackle to Dallas. At twelve, Will Campbell

(18:56):
tackle LSU went to the Dolphins at thirteen, Gee Hodd
Campbell went to the Colts at number fourteen. Atlanta took
Matthew Golden wide receiver into Texas. The Cardinals took McMillan
out of Arizona, and the Bengals just took Will Johnson,
cornerback out of Michigan. That puts the Seahawks on mcclock
right now. In the annual Maller Millan Mock Draft live

(19:21):
from the Queen Anne beer Hall get to a radio
if you're not tuning in right now, which I guess
is kind of weird because if you're tuning in right now,
there's only one way you'd hear if you're tuning in.
We're gonna get to the Seahawks pick because this is
the pick that all of us obviously have been waiting for.
What will they do here? At number eighteen ten and
seven tied for the NFC West Championship, but lost the

(19:44):
tiebreaker of the Rams and missed the playoffs. Massive changes,
DK gone, Gino Smith gone for now, Tyler Locket gone,
Sam Darnold is in, and maybe Sam Howel as well.
After the Seahawks brought back Drew lock in free agency
on a two year deal. Hawks into twenty twenty four
eleventh in scoring defense and gave away excuse me, gave
linebacker Ernest Jones a new deal, and signed defensive end

(20:04):
to Marcus Lawrence away from Dallas and Draymont Jones took
off in free agency for the Titans. The Hawks brought
in former ram Cooper Cup on a three year deal
right now their third receivers Marcus Valdez Scanling, so two
of their top three wide receivers, you are older than thirty.
As of today, the starting guards or Satowa Lamea and
Anthony Bradford. Seahawks overhauled their entire offensive coaching staff, Ryan

(20:27):
Grubb out Clint Kubiak in as the OC meeting. The
Hawks have now had four different ocs in the last
six years. Seahawks finished tenth in sacks, but just thirteen
picks the entire season on defense. And they have a
ton of draft capital this year with ten picks and
the and excuse me, ten picks overall in five in

(20:47):
the top ninety two.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
My fault.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
All right, let's do it. Let's get to the podium
find out what the Seahawks do. The pick is in
at number eighteen. Commissioner Faine has the selection for the Seahawks.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
With the eighteenth pick, and he twenty twenty five NFL Draft.
The Seattle Seahawks select Gray Zabel guard North Dakota State.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Grayzabel, guard of North Dakota State. I mean, we just
got done. Earlier today, Hugh talking about Steve Hutchinson and
how impactful he was for the Seahawks way back in
the day, and the Seahawks just went ahead and drafted
a guard from North Dakota State. This is the highest
drafted guard since Hutchinson, who went seventeenth in two thousand

(21:31):
and one. Six six three twelve played guard, played tackle.
His first few years at North Dakota State, won two
FCS championships and did not become a full time starter
until his fourth year as a Bison. What do you
make of the newest guard, the newest member of the
Seahawks offensive wild, raised developer, and a feisty guy.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
I think that has some of the Steve Hutchinson mindset
within him. I think the concern will get to you know,
how to evaluate a Bison. He played in the senior
boat at Bowl as well, nine and sixty one snaps

(22:13):
at left tackle the season before that. He played six
and eighty six at right tackle, two hundred eleven at
left guard, and three at right guard the season before that.
I rarely go back three seasons to consider snaps, but
fourteen at center, left guard, one hundred and fifty two

(22:34):
and none at right guard. So the position you're asking
to play, he hasn't played as much, and he's played
at a lower level. Those are some of the things
to be concerned about, but this guy is a top
shelf athlete despite the fact he really doesn't look like it.
You mentioned the hype and weight. He's a low cut guy,
you know, the lower legs and what have you, shorter arms,

(22:56):
and so I think that's why you got to play
him inside. But as an athlete, this guy he jumped
thirty six and a half inches. That that is elite
for a lineman. In fact, that is the ninety eight percentile.
He's got a great explosive first step. If you want
to have the zone blocking scheme like we're gonna have

(23:17):
with Clint kubiak Ye, having that first step, that type
of athleticism, I think, the leg drive, the tenacity, I
think I think it's a it's it's you know, decent
value here at eighteen, Okay, I kind of thought that
John Schneider might trade back, maybe trying to get a
little greedy get this guy in the in the mid twenties,

(23:38):
and he tried to the trade didn't go through, So
we're at eighteen. He must have really liked this guy.
And so what what I like is you're saying, okay,
very very positioned, versat all, As I said, play all
his position or his snaps at left tackle in the
Senior Bowl. That was a big scouting opportunity for the

(23:59):
league and of course the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Uh and for me, you know, seeing him be able
to go down the line and get a quick first
quick steps and and he had he had a one
one big miss. But I think other than that, for
a guy who played left tackle, okay, for him to
be at center, you know, he just showed a lot
of versatility. So I think it's a solid pick.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
At a drastic position of Yeah, is there a concern
about the competition you play?

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Very big concern. I mean the first time I threw
on the tape, I'm looking at the end zone copy,
because that's how you evaluate lineman as you take the
coach's tape, watch the end zone copy, and I'm just
not looking at his frame and how low is his
ankle bend and what have you with it, which is
important because that means you can bend at the knees
and you don't have to bend at the way. So
so there's a I'm looking at his flexibility. And before

(24:47):
before the first nap, I'm looking at the guy across frohim.
He's in a three point stance. Yeah, going agains him.
He looks like a wide receiver. He's got no ass
right and so so Yes, it's hard to evaluate when
you say I want to have the NFL guard and
I want to watch tape of a South Dakota State
left tackle. Yes, that's hard. That's why the Seami Bowl

(25:07):
was very important for this guy. Yeah, and look he
checks enough for the boxes and going to the zone blocking.
I think there's a very solid pick at a big
time position of need.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
No question.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Well that's it.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
Gray's abel is the selection for the Seahawks and the
annual Marl Millen Mock Draft guard out of North Dakota
State six six three twelve, and he's now a Seahawk.
That puts Tampa bay. We're gonna start moving fast here
on the clock at number nineteen. The Frostbrewed Corps Light
cold hard facts on Tampa ten and seven NFC Champs,
NFC South Champs a year ago, lost to the Commanders

(25:42):
on the wild card round of Baker Mayfield Man. The
rebirth continues, signed through twenty six. Bucks gave him fifty
million last March, and he responds with forty five hundred
yards and forty one touchdowns. Buccaneers signed starting linebacker Assagan
Reddick from the jetson free agency. Tampa finished fourth th
and scoring offense when you factor the Brady years view,

(26:03):
the Buccaneers have now been in the top four and
scoring in four the last six seasons, sixteenth in scoring defenses.
The Bucks took up by committee approach to the pass rush,
finishing seventh in the NFL in sacks despite their leading
sac man Elijah Cantsey, ending the year with only seven
and a half. Let's find out what the Buccaneers will
do at number nineteen. The pick is in to the

(26:24):
podium we Go and Commissioner Fame with Tampa number nineteen
and the annual Matherer Millen Mock Draft.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
With the nineteenth pick and the twenty twenty five NFL Draft,
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Jordan Birch Edge, Oregon.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Jordan Birch Edge rusher, Oregon. He's actually a fifty year
guy that played at South Carolina and he transferred eight
and a half sacks eleven tackles for loss for the
Ducks a year ago. Played fifty eight games of college
football u and Jordan Birch is now a member of
the Buccaneers pass rush.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
Okay, did you say we're behind? Yeah, in time, but
we're now.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
All we're If Mount Milan's gonna blow, we can stay
here as long as you want.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
No, No, there's nothing to blow about. Because I haven't
studied this guy. Okay, and he's from Oregon. There's a
lot of good reasons to just go to the next pick.
And I'll tell you what. We ain't trying to win
an Emmy here. If if this guy is ranked the
ninety sixth player in the breaking in in the draft,
I'm not studying them. Okay, Okay, all right, there you go.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
Well, I gotta tell you one of my favorite memories
of doing the mock with you. And I don't remember
what year it was or what player it was, but
there was a player taken and you looked at me
and said.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
I don't know who this is. Well this is in
the military. They'd say, Whiskey Tango, foxtrot India Hotel.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
You know, yeah, I got fo his heat. All right, Well,
Jordan Birch is a buccaneer.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
That's who he is.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Man, He's a duck. And at least right we're gonna break.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Let's get on time.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Okay, Denver is on the clock. Next we'll recap everything
coming up live for the Beer Hall on ninety three
to three kJ a r FM.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Now back to the twenty sixth annual Muller and Millan
Mock Draft, presented by cors Lit. Are in our foundation
specialists and brought to you by Queen Anne Beer Hall
and Delta Airlins on Sports Radio ninety three point three
kjr FM.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
All right, bods and girls, we are back here at
the Queen Anne Beer Hall for the annual Mahler Millan
Mock Draft, brought to you by your friends at Frostbreed
Corps Light Delta Airlines. Talk about time simply. Seattle, of course,
are in our foundation specialists. We are through pick number nineteen,
where the Buccaneers have done it. They have completely cracked
Hu Millin's head by taking Jordan Birch at Dember nineteen

(28:42):
edge Rusher from the Oregon Ducks. The Seahawks took Gray
Zabel by the way Guard from North Dakota State. So
we are through pick number nineteen where recap everything in
a minute. But let's kind of pick up the pace
here a little bit. Denver now was on the clock
at number twenty. Let's get the course light cold heart
facts on Denver ten and seven in the year two
with Sean tay took a big jump, going from nineteenth
to tenth and scoring offense with a rookie quarterback in Boix,

(29:06):
they were third and scoring defense, including a league high
sixty three sacks last year. How about that blown out
by the Bills in the wild card round and brought
in two X niners and Drake Greenlaw and safety Telenoa
who Funga also added Evan Ingram who was let go
by the Jaguars.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
You remember the name.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Javonte Williams, by the way, ran for over nine hundred
yards as rookie year, but torse a CEO has never
been the same and he's now in Dallas meeting. The
top returning running back from last year is Jalio McLaughlin
with only four hundred and ninety six yards and one touchdown.
Let's start to the podium. Denver now on the clock
at number twenty. The pick is in. Let's find out
what the Broncos do and the annual mal Milla mock draft.

(29:45):
The Commissioner Faine we go for the Broncos pick at
twenty with.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
The twentieth pick, and he twenty twenty five NFL Draft,
the Denver Broncos select Omarion Hampton, running back North Carolina.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
I gotta be honest with you, man, I know that
you're you're the analyst, You're the color guy around here.
I like this pick for Denver. I mean they have
an obvious needed running back. This dude ran for sixteen
hundred and sixty yards and fifteen touchdowns for Carolina last year,
caught thirty eight balls for three seventy and two touchdowns
as a sophomore, went for another fifteen hundred and another

(30:20):
fifteen touchdowns in the ACC. I mean you talk about need, Yeah,
they need a running back and they love this kid Hampton.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
Well, they have a big needed running back. You mentioned
McLoughlin at four ninety six. He's never been over five
hundred yards. Jamonte Williams is gone right. A second year back,
Odric Esteem got only eighty one touches. So they come
into this draft does Sean Payton. You know, with high
designs on that bo Nicks led offense, they needed a

(30:48):
running back at sitting there at twenty that you knew
you weren't gonna get genty, but they were hoping to
get this player. And when you talk about him, Amarion Hampton,
this is a guy that and just kind of doing
study about him. He had twelve point one yards per
carry in high school North Carolina Gatorade Player of the

(31:09):
Year thirty nine scores and just under two thousand yards
nineteen forty okay, so incredible. He is a a fast
guy at four forty six four point four to six
rather eighty one percentile on that. So he's gonna be
a guy with both his his traits and his demeanor,
you'd categorize him more of a singles and doubles hit her.

(31:32):
He's not like the home run hitter that you have
in genty. But his signature trait is he has a
turbo charge acceleration. When he sees the lane, he gets
after it. This guy's got a lot of power and
he's taken a lot of hits. There's some miles on
the tire that's a concern, but but he has you know,

(31:53):
his broad jump at ten foot ten right ninety seven
percentiles indicated the power. I would just say this, I
think he's a hard rushing guy who who has a
physical tone to him. If there's a concern about it.
I just think he lacks elite lateral quickness and creativity
in the open field to make guys miss. I think

(32:14):
he's more of a you know, as I said, he's
not flashy. I think he's just really physical. Yeah, yeah,
and and but clearly the second best back in this
draft feels a big need for Denver, no doubt. Man.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Good for them getting the getting maybe the second best
running back in college football. All right. That puts the
Steelers now on the clock in the annual Mahler Millen
Mock Draft at number twenty one. The course like cold
hard Facts on Pittsburgh ten and seven lost to the
Ravens of the wild card rounds. Steelers last playoff win
was in twenty sixteen. Mason Rudolph quarterback back for a
second tour of duty in Pittsburgh. Steelers finished last year's

(32:50):
six sixteenth in scoring offense, eighth and scoring defense, and
the biggest guarantee they gave out in free agency was
giving corner Darius Slay almost nine million from the Eagles.
Jalen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell are the top two running
backs on the roster because Najee Harris is now a
Charger and DK metcalf is now a Steeler after the
trade was Seattle. But George Pickens's future is now up

(33:11):
in the air. His deal is up after twenty twenty five.
To the podium we go. The pick is in, Baby Pittsburgh.
I'm a clock. At twenty one. To the podium, we go,
and Commissioner Faith With.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
The twenty first pick in the twenty twenty five NFL Draft,
the Pittsburgh Steelers select Chedor Sanders, quarterback Colorado.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Wow. How about that. Hugh Millan's favorite player, Shador Sanders,
son of Dion, just went to the Pittsburgh Steelers at
number twenty one in the annual Mahler Millen Mock Draft.
Four hundred and seventy seven attempts a year ago.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
That's a lot.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Forty one hundred yards, thirty seven touchdowns, ten picks, eighth
and the Heisman First Team All Big Twelve Big twelve
Offensive Player of the Year, and now has his number
deal the Colorado Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
He's the number two, most deserving. Number two is now
a Steeler. Figures well, clearly a position to need as
much as any team needs any position. And we're talking
about the position. The Steelers need a quarterback, right, So
in looking at Saduer Sanders, he's just he's not for

(34:24):
everybody and he's not for me. And I'll tell you why. Now.
I'll tell you the things I like about him. I
think he's tough. He stands in there. They had a
poor offensive line and there there are there are times
numerous times where he hangs in there and he shows physical,
physical toughness. I think he's he's very good in the
quick game, slants and arrows and uh, you know, throws

(34:50):
around the line of scrimmage, of which there's more than
you might think in the NFL. I think he has
a a little bit of a playmaker's mentality when he
can get out and escape. And I think he has
a clutch geam there. There are numerous times during his
two years at Colorado where he played pretty well in

(35:10):
the fourth quarter and he had some notable comebacks. What
I don't like about him, well, I'll just say the
leadership part of it. Throwing his offensive lineman under the
bus after Nebraska. Literally I have a video to prove it.
An offensive lineman trying to help him off the ground
and he slaps the guy away. So I have a
lot of concerns about how he's going to lead and

(35:33):
the sense of entitlement that he may have. I think
that his pocket presence was brutal by first quarterback, first
round draft pick quarterback standards, the worst sack tape I've
ever seen of any first round draft pick in twenty
seven years, in terms of so many unnecessary sacks, drifting
away from the spot you know, where he lines up

(35:54):
behind the center, he drifts over to the tackle. Not
a big arm, a great athlete. It has too many
times where he he loses ground. He had three hundred
and thirteen yards lost in sacks, the most in all
of FBS. So there was just he didn't just take sacks.
He took very punitive sacks, and so so and and

(36:19):
you know, and they finished off. I watched almost every
game that he's ever played as a Colorado Buffalo. You know,
he finishes up at the end with b YU, they're
down twenty eight to nothing. It was the most and
and he hadn't made a play. It had two lousy
interceptions he had he had had two plays where I
mentioned cam Ward in his last game in one half,

(36:43):
had nine plus plays Seduar Sanders had two in in
one game. So in my mind, look, I see too
much entitlement there and not enough talent. I got breaking
news for you. We are woeful behind in the mock draft.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
I mean, may be as bad as we've ever been
at this point of the draft.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Okay, so we have massive.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Hammer thro we have massive amounts of work to do.
I really hope there's a bunch of guys coming up
that you haven't studied so we can just blow by
all of them. We are through Pig number twenty one, Chargers, Packers,
Vikings on the Clock, and the annual mock Draft six
forty five. We hand out prizes here, including one thousand
bucks to Delta right here on ninety three three KJRFM
