Speaker 1 (00:00):
What was maybe one of the most intense weekends that
you can ever imagine going through as a sports fan.
I mean, none of our favorite teams, the Huskies, the Mariners,
or the Seahawks gave us any kind of break mentally
this weekend. I mean, it was the entire way four
game for freaking four, stress inducing, heart attack inducing, vomit
(00:22):
inducing in some ways. The emotions were totally off the
charts this weekend with all four of those games. Man,
And I'm kind of glad it's done, because I'm not
sure how much more my heart can take after what
I saw this weekend. You could have another one on
Friday nights. Well, let's hope that we don't. I mean, please,
Jed Fish, I'm begging you. Will you do me a
(00:43):
favor and just kick their ass?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Please? For the love of God, will you kick their ass?
All right?
Speaker 1 (00:49):
They're flying three thousand miles, it's a short week. Just
do us a favor and just dispatch of them early,
for the love of God.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
So we got a lot to get to and.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Not a lot of time to do it between now
at five o'clock, Humlin's going to join us at four.
We'll do a little fun with out of you at
three forty five. We got Chiefs Jaguars at five o'clock.
But I mean, guys, where do we start? Where do
we start? I mean, obviously, and look, I shouldn't say
obviously because for me, this is all about the Mariners
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
You know I love the Huskies. You know how much
they mean to me.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
That comeback on Saturday was for the Ages, first comeback
on the road like that.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
And what thirty two.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Years ninety three going back to the Calgary was at
that game, Berkeley cam Cleveland that was playing for the Huskies.
I believe, yes, So it's been a long time since
U dub has done something like that, and I believe
that that is a season, potentially season changing, season altering
win by U DUB on Saturday, saving absolutely and also
(01:49):
maybe altering in the standpoint of Look, I mean you
had four and four, four games and the must win
category and four games and the kind of I don't
know category.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Maryland was one of them. He just won one.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
So that that's everything. But we're gonna table some of
that for now. The Seahawks look offensively. Sam Donald, we
talked to home Run about this Thursday. I think we
can now put it to rest. They made the right
call in getting Richino Smith and going to Sam Donald
because this guy can play all right. The idea that
it was a one hit wonder last year in Minnesota,
that's not happening, you know. I mean, the mistake he
(02:22):
made at the end of the game, the mistake he
made against San Francisco, the turnovers. We can talk about
that later on, but the offense is not the problem
right now with this football team. You score thirty five
points in an NFL football game and you should win.
I think all of us can agree on that something's
going on with his team at home, and something's going
on with that defense that we'll talk to Huming about
at four o'clock today. But for me, I'm just gonna
(02:47):
say it the way I told it to Anders, and
I reserve the right to change my mind at any
point in time because I'm a lunatic sports fan, as
are you and as are you Anders. But my sports
fan and bucket is about ninety nine point Mariners right now,
and it's really not even close. I mean, I'll be
(03:08):
honest with you, Dick. I left the Seahow game in
the fourth quarter. I just couldn't stand it. I had
to get the hell out of there and get over
to Jimmy's and get over to T Mobile Park. I
had to reset, I had to charge my phone, I
had to go to the bathroom, I had to get
something to drink, and then I wanted to get my
ass inside that park as quickly as I could. I
just can't separate these things right like other people, I
(03:28):
guess can say, you know what, I'm gonna focus on
the Seahawks now and the Mariners at five, I'll dive
into it.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Then. I just can't do it. I can't do it.
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I can't do it. I try, I can't do it.
I wake up in the morning, it's Mariners. I go
to bed at night, it's Mariners. I'm on the shower,
it's Mariners. I'm on the can it's Mariners. I'm on
the air, it's Mariners. I'm sleeping.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
It's Mariners. It's all Mariners all day for me.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
And I don't know why that is. I mean, we've
been here before in the playoffs. How we were just
here three years ago, we were here twenty four years ago.
You and I have got, you know, a nice little
history of some playoff baseball. Compared to the other guys
like Jackson and anders and are twelve years old. We're,
you know, early fifties. We've got some memories. But I
am just everything that I'm thinking about right now. It
(04:13):
is very rare in the last twenty four to forty
eight hours, Dick, where a sports thought has popped into
my head and it has not been in relation to
my baseball Well, I would.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Totally agree with you that the Mariners should should get
first billing, There's no question about that. As big a
football fan as I am, I understand the playoff baseball
is more important than regular season football, although that game
yesterday could end up being very very important down the
road when it comes to making the playoffs. That being said, though,
I mean, I've always been kind of a guy that compartmentalizes,
(04:44):
you know that about me. I mean like when I
was in college, if I had a final on Wednesday, Thursday,
and Friday, I wouldn't study.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
For all of them at the same time.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
I would study for the Wednesday one on Tuesday night,
I'd study for the Thursday one on Wednesday. I wanted
to compartmentalize and focus on one thing and I tell you what.
When I was in that Seahawks game yesterday, I was
one hundred percent focused on yelling as loud as I
could and helping my football team win. And then as
soon as it was over, then okay, yeah, do the
postgame show and then it's boom, it's all Mariners.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
And that's how.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
And last night I was all Mariners for three hours.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
I wish I could do that, man, I really do.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
I don't know if it's a skill. That's just why
it is.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Maybe it is a skill. Maybe you're just more mature
than me. I got no idea, but I do.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
And as I told Dick and Jackson last week, remember
the SNL SKI is seeing with Chris Farley where he's
dreaming about sausages. He's just sitting there and it's his sausage.
I'm sitting there at lumen Field and we had phenomenal
seats courtesy of Vanue Kings. Were right behind the Buccaneers bench,
about twenty rows off the field with a bunch of
(05:47):
bucks thirty. Well they were just kind of right. Well, yes, yes.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
It wasn't nearly as bad as the Niners game. We'll think.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
I think the entire Mecca at Buca. Family was sitting
around us, by the way, or as Gronkowski said, I'm
makabaco whatever hell.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Is that in fun with audio?
Speaker 1 (06:05):
By the way it is, And I'm just sitting there
the whole time, and I'm just thinking. I'm thinking about
the lineup that night. I'm thinking about the pitching matchup.
I'm thinking about Luis Castillo. I'm thinking about all the
things that went wrong in Game number one. I'm thinking
about what time the gates open, how do I get
in there, how do I make a b line to
the bathroom if I need to in a pinch? Blah
blah blah. I just can't get this out of my head.
(06:26):
Anders It's everything to me. It's everything we've been waiting for.
The intensity is off the charts, and for as good
as this baseball team has been this year, man a
five game series, it's it's almost like baseball doesn't even
really care about making sure they give themselves the best
chance of having the better team advance. Because if they did,
(06:48):
they play a seven game series, right, right, if they
if they really cared about making sure the better team
advanced or giving themselves the best shot to have the better.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Team advance, it'd be a seven game series.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
But in a five game series, I mean, my god,
they lose tomorrow in Detroit. I don't know, man, I
mean I was that that was a gut punch on
Saturday night watching that playoff game, and then look, I'll
be honest with you, and I'm so thankful they won.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Thank god they won.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Josh Naylor, I have not been that pissed off at
a Seattle athlete in a long time. I could not
believe what he did in the eighth inning of that
game last night.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Unbelievable. Jackson.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
I saw Softy after the game.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
I mean, I.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Mean, I saw Softie after the game, and I can
attest that everything he is saying is true.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Well, I just I just felt like, really, this is
the time that you picked to do something like that. Hey, hey, look, guys,
let's be totally honest and and and reasonable here.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
If he's distracted, there's.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
A reason why, of course, and we all and we
all understand it. But I I don't think that we
could admit that he might be distracted and then also
give him a break at the time, but also not
talk about decisions that Dan Wilson has got to make.
I mean, he still feels like Josh Naylor, even when
he's not totally focused, is the best option in the
(08:11):
sixth spot, and he's the best option at first base.
And I would agree with that, by the way, I
don't know who else you'd put in there. I agree
with that, But guys, he's got to get his act together.
He's got to get his act together in the field. Anders,
and he's got to get his act together at the
plate as well.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
Yeah, And to me, it like errors happen and we're
not used to seeing it from Josh Naylor. But it's
the at bats for me that's getting concerning with him
because he's normally someone who would grind out of bats,
foul a bunch of pitches off and then exactly, but
he's not doing that right, So impatient, Yes, yes, so
you could tell that there's something else going on. And
again I agree with you. It's understandable why he is
(08:49):
for me in terms of, you know, splitting my head
in two different ways. I'm like a good producer, I
am writing between you guys. I went to both games
on Sunday, so I was there cheering the Seahawks on
screening my head off to make sure the defense got
a stop, which didn't really happen.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
But I also in the back of my head was like,
all right, but what really matters is later tonight we
have to get to Tarik Schooble. We have to get
even this at one one. And what I'll ask you
guys now is going into the series, if you had
offered if I had offered you one one after the
first two games, would you have taken it?
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Probably not, to be honest with you.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
Because I didn't think there was much chance at all
of them sweeping us.
Speaker 6 (09:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yeah. And by the way, I also would have thought
it would have been Logan and Castilla. Yeah, I would
have got Kirby and Castile.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
And then they dropped that bomb on us a couple
of days ago that Kirby is going to start in
game a.
Speaker 7 (09:38):
Big time pitching match up in three wells and then
just you know, I mean advantage right to answer Andrew's question,
I mean, we can't sit here all year long and talk.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
About how great the Mariners are at home, how much
we want home field advantage, and how important it is
and then agree to your yeah, uh, your option of
going because that he just gave home field back to
the Tigers like it's over, it's done. They now have
home field in a three game series, so no one
would not have taken that, I thought. Look, I mean yesterday,
the Julio double, the cow double, unbelievable, unbridled passion and
(10:12):
joy from Julio on that double, The way the crowd
reacted to him, The way they reacted to Cal Rowley
and Andres Munno's at the end of the game, unbelievable.
The way the place just went silent like somebody had
died when Naylor made that air at first base yesterday,
I thought, a very underrated part Dick of yesterday's game
is the way the Mariner pitching staff responded after both
(10:35):
Polanco homers, because you remember Julio had the homer on Saturday,
and then George Kirby immediately responds by giving up the
bomb to Carpentry. And we can go back and talk
about whether or not that was a mistake by Dan. Look,
I mean, you had a guy who was four for
eight with four bombs going into Saturday, off George Kirby
and you'll let him face him again, right, So hindsight
twenty twenty, if it works nobody's talking about it, but
(10:58):
they had.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
They had to make a statement immediately.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
I thought, after both of those bombs and shut that
thing down.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
And they did, Yes, they did.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
And I really like where we're at right now, because
this team is a much better hitting team away from
this park.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
I mean, their ops plus is one to eighteen. Away
from home, it's a ninety two.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
So it goes from a below significantly below average to
massively above average when they get out of that park.
And now you're facing pitchers that you feel like you
can get to in the next two games. There's no
Tarik School in the next two games. And I understand
that the home road splits for the Mariners have not been.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Great pitching wise. I just feel Logan.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Gilbert is gonna be nails though. I just feel like
I'm watching those swings and Andrews.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
I don't know about you.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
I'm watching this Detroit offense and I'm seeing defensive swings.
I'm seeing offensive swings and maybe two offensive swings from
the Mariners. I'm seeing defensive week swings for the most
part for the last what is it twenty one innings,
twenty innings that we've played.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
First two games, Yeah, I completely agree, and it's part
of what made me so surprised that they decided to
go Kirby in Game one instead of Logan Gilbert, which again,
in hindsight, maybe should have been the move to.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Go to Logan. They didn't lose, No, they didn't know,
they didn't. You're right, you're right.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
And and you talked about the decision not to go
to Spire in Game one, Well, Dan literally had the
same exact situation guys on. Luis Castillo just gave up
his first hit to Glaber Torres in the fifth inning,
the same exact inning, and he's like, Nope, I'm going
to Spire this time to face Carpenter. Inspire gets him out.
So it's it's been he literally learned from his lesson
after that. The Game one, well, the Mariners had one.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
Again.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
It's just it's it's it's almost borderline ridiculous to be
talking about stuff like this because the samples are so
freaking small. Yeah right, I mean, the Mariners played three
games of baseball at CA America Park. They played twenty
seven innings at Kamerica. It was the last series before
the All Star Break this year, and they scored thirty
five runs Santas in three games. Okay, you're looking at
(12:58):
Logan Gilbert. There's there's guys that have had some success,
but over what you know, a twelve at bat sample,
sixteen at bat sample, eight at bat sample, Riley Green,
gliber torrez Jave, Baiez, all those guys. So I do
think the Mariners are in a pretty decent spot. Not
as good as they would have been if they're up
two oh, and I thought they should have won game won,
(13:18):
by the way, But they are the better team. But
the problem with these little mini stupid series is is
that that doesn't often bear out right.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
All you need is one mistake.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
One guy has a bad night, he sleeps on his
neck wrong, his girlfriend yells at him, whatever, he wakes
up with a you know, you know, bad stomach ache
or whatever.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
His wife has a baby. You know, i'd like her
to have the baby.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
How about you freaking out right now, like now today,
like literally in the next hour.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Please.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Well, I mean, and that's the thing, Like, I mean,
if he's not there tomorrow, and he did not travel
with the team, by the way, he's not there in
Detroit right now, correct, So if he's not playing tomorrow,
I mean, I mean, I know your thoughts on that.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
We've talked about this many many times.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
I don't and I've getten I've gotten I know it.
I don't think that you can necessarily plan this stuff.
But are we just gonna just say whatever he's got
to do, he's got to do, and nobody else has
an opinion on it, like that's it. Like I heard
Nathan Bishop and I heard other people say, Ah, there's
more important things in baseball. Okay, I get that, But
(14:28):
part of being a major league baseball player or a
professional athlete sometimes you got to make some serious sacrifices.
And I don't know if making him make that sacrifice
is unfair. Maybe it's totally ridiculous, Uh, for anyone to
even ask that of Josh Naylor. I would, I guess
generally lean towards the side that everybody's on that do
(14:51):
what you gotta do, I guess. But at the same time,
for as great as it is for him, I don't
have any problems saying it sucks for us as it does.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Yeah, if he's not there in Game three, are you
kidding me? It does suck?
Speaker 4 (15:04):
And you know, you know my point on this.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
It's been the same for years, and all I've said
to all the criticism, all the pushback that I've gotten,
is there will be a time, right, there will come
a time when one of your favorite players is going
to miss a huge football, baseball, basketball game because of it.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
And then see half yeah, and again, I just want
to reiterate. I understand he's got to do what he's
got to do. Right, He's a grown man. He'll make
up his own mind. The guy's only been here for
two months, for Christ's sakes, He's got no you know,
you know, dedication or loyalty to Seattle or any real
you know, camaraderie with a town. Just yet he's got
(15:43):
a little bit.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
People love him.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
They do love him, no doubt about it. But you know,
family first. I get that, But I think we can
also admit family first. But it's gonna stink for the Mariners.
It's gonna stink for the fans if Josh Naylor isn't
there in Game three. Both of those things can be true.
To steal a line from Humil and Dick. At the
same time, we're gonna break a little factor fiction. We'll
(16:06):
give you our pick for the day. Fun with Audio
three forty five. Humilan joins at four from the EQC Sportsbook.
Right here on ninety three to three KJRFM.
Speaker 6 (16:18):
From the R and R Foundation Specialist Broadcast Studio. Now
back to SOFTI and Dick on your home for the Huskies,
Kraken and the twelfth Man Sports Radio ninety three point
three kJ R FM.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
All right, we are back at the amro Quen Casino
Factor fiction coming up in a matter of minutes here,
Humilan joins at four Fun with Audio three forty five.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
We are hanging out here all night long.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Chiefs Jaguars, a chance to see the next Seahawk opponent.
How many fans do you think we'll watch the game
tonight with a scouting eye, sit there with their notebook,
writing down formation schemes, tendencies, and then maybe shoot McDonald
an email or a tweet getting a ready of the
game on Sun I'll watch.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
A lot of Jacksonville because I can't think of a
time that I have actually sat down other than maybe
on red Zone and actually watched Jacksonville play.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
So I've got no idea what to expect from that team.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Well, they've basically been a train wreck ever since you
and I have been alive. Okay, I mean a couple
couple of years here and there where they.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Mark Brune was good. Well, I'll tell you where they
got hose.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Was that AFC championship when Miles Jackson picked up that ball.
Miles Miles jack picked up that ball and ran it
back for a touchdown and Jacksonville would have been up
like twenty points in the fourth quarter. But they said
it with it that that the guy was down and
they got screwed.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
I mean, dude, they should have gone to the super
Bowl that year. Blake got hosed.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Absolutely Blake, yes, completely hosed.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
And he was playing good back then. He had a
good year.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
So yeah, they they they've kind of been like, you know,
the mister irrelevant in a lot of ways of the NFL.
But you know, we're talking off he hear about the
game yesterday. Uh, we'll get back to the Mariners, you know,
coming up very shortly here. And look, I understandswer your
question that you asked this off the year. How much
do you let the injuries explain what happened on defense?
I would say some, but I would also say this
(18:09):
that when Mike McDonald got hired over a year ago.
I remember you and I going on the air and
saying the star of the show was gonna be Mike
McDonald's scheme.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Remember that, Yes, that's gonna be the star. Yes, And
it wasn't the star yesterday.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
And I realized that they're banged up, and the more
players you got out, the harder it is to execute
your scheme. But they still had some pretty significant defensive
players out there, and they got whipped by Tampa Bay,
absolutely whipped by their scheme.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
So I think we'll talk to you to Hugh about this.
At fore.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
That was my biggest downer I think yesterday, Dick about
the Seahawk game is that Mike McDonald's schematically did not
seem to have a lot of answers for what Baker
Mayfield was doing.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Yeah, I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Baker Mayfield's playing an MVP level, no doubt. I think
that what is the norm and what is the anomaly,
And clearly what we saw last night was the anomaly
for the Seahawks defense. So because all those guys and
at one point, I mean the list of guys that
were out, Lawrence Hall, Witherspoon, Love Woolen, I mean, Emon Worry,
(19:20):
I mean the list goes on and on.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
Over half of your starters were out.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
So I am going to give the defense a bit
of a pass in that game because of that. But
if it was more of a low scoring game and
we were worried about the offense, I've been more concerned
than the type of loss we had in that one just.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
Quickly before Factor fiction. To me, the Seahawk game is
kind of like the Ohio State game, right, And we
felt that way for the first half of the Maritan game.
By the way, Okay, they didn't score against Ohio State,
But let's see what happens in the next couple of games. Whatever,
If the Husky offense blows up, then we can go
back and say and say it was Ohio States. Right, Well,
let's wait and see what happens this weekend and beyond. Right,
(19:58):
if this defense keeps getting and picked on, then the
injury thing becomes less and less of an excuse. Right
as the weeks go by. We'll talk about that with
you at four factor fiction.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Right now, where's that to go?
Speaker 8 (20:12):
Glad you're with us, it's your shot at our weekly
thousand bucks and the ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's
fact door fiction probably presented by Lucky Eagle Casino and
Hotel where every Day Feels Lucky.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Fact Door Fiction.
Speaker 8 (20:28):
Is on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
So I think Mike McDonald's beating himself up pretty good
about what happened yesterday because I think I think he
agrees with us that he's got a lot of pride
in his scheme. Dick has a lot of pride in
his defense. And let's face it, Mike McDonald for what
he did at Baltimore, what he did at Michigan, what
he did in the second half here last year, he's
not used to getting trounce like that by anybody on
(20:55):
the defensive side of the ball. I would bet you
there's very few games went far between where he's allowed
thirty eight to anybody at any level of football. So
I think he's pissed. I think the Hawks are pissed.
They're gonna go to Jacksonville in a short week. The
Jaguars are playing tonight, so they have one less day
to get ready for the game on Sunday, and I
just gotta believe the Hawks are gonna find a way
(21:17):
to bounce back and play angry football on Sunday they're
given a point and a half, gotta win the game
by two.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Let's not overthink this.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Let's just take the Hawks minus to one and a
half at Jacksonville. Fact if you agree, fiction, if you
disagree to four nine, four or five one.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Look at how much respect the Vegas and the gambling
public is showing to the Seahawks. They were one and
a half point dogs going in to that game yesterday
in the look aheadline. In the Jacksonville game, they lose
to Tampa and Seattle goes from one and a half
point dogs to one and a half point favorites. That's
what that game spoke to the gambling public. They're like, damn,
(21:55):
the Seahawks are pretty damn good and they're gonna be
a problem for the.

yep in Factor fiction because your show that you work.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
On, Andrews are just not doing his getting hampered.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
I mean Ian Ferness cannot pick a game to save
his ass seven and seventeen MJ in the Midday, and
Christopher Kidd nine and fifteen, mostly because Chris Kidd is
oh and nine on the air, Chris Kidd and Jackson
Felt are oh and thirteen combined, which I'm pretty much
if you look up the definition to suck in the dictionary,
(22:53):
that's what you'll get oh and thirteen in Factor Fix.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
With Jackson on the bench.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
I think we got to have that conversation.
Speaker 1 (23:00):

injuries to be an excuse for what happened to the
Seahawks yesterday? Is he want to chime in on the
MAWA news All coming up at four right here from
the Emerald Queen Casino on ninety three to three KJRFM.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
It's now time for Sunday in Dig's one with Audio.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Jimmy g pawn Star, Jimmy mister Garoppolo.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Now let's have some fun with Audio.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Humulin is gonna join us, said four, and we're at
the Emerald Queen Casino hanging out until five o'clock. We
got Chiefs, we got Jaguars, We got Kevin Harlan who
was in town yesterday. He might be back in a
couple of weeks, by the way, for the Texans Seahawk game.
It's a doubleheader. We don't know what game he's doing
that night yet, so crash your fingers and hope that
Kevin comes back and visits our fine city. It's also
(24:09):
game seven of the alcsh God that same exact night that.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
With Trump, whatever happened think Monday night football in game seven?
Speaker 2 (24:19):
How about that? How about that?
Speaker 1 (24:22):
All right, let's get to it a little fun with
audio slash hat Did you hear that a dick?
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Did you happen to hear that?
Speaker 4 (24:27):
What's that dick?
Speaker 2 (24:29):
We start in baseball?
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Everyone was fired up for Julio's go ahead double last night.
Here's how it sounded on Tigers Radio with lead play
by play voice Dan Dickerson sringing line.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Live basically on the left field line. Mourners take the lead.
All these goals, rickas Cruz was.
Speaker 9 (24:51):
In the Sun.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Brothers name in the two owners.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Little guy rips it into the corner were double tonight.
This place is blockey. Literally, booth is shaky, it is.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
I love that You're glad the crowd drown them out.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
Well, I'm glad they I'm glad they drowned him out.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
I'm also glad that the Tiger announcers actually acknowledged that
that the booth was moving, because a lot of other
play by play booths would not do that. It's almost
like you're giving the opposing crowd some credit for how
loud they are.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
But done for those.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Guys, Yeah, I know, But for those guys to actually
say that, like Andrews, come on, when I go to
Austin Stadium or I don't know, give me another place
that we would go to.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
It, uh LEVI but that would never happen.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
But I'm saying I would never acknowledge anything good happening
down there. Never hear me on the post game show,
gone it was loud in here today, Dick, Yeah, you never.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
You're at the Big House at Michigan.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
I like it was really loud. I would never say that.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
So good for those guys, But I mean, best atmosphere
of the year right last night?
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Oh yeah, and it's only good.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
And I felt there's there's still room for more, right,
there are still room for more. They're gonna gradually amp
up here hopefully, like I said, like you said, hopefully
we don't have a game five. Hopefully next rounds the
next time we're at home.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
So when I was a kid, and we did this
year to day on the text, we were talking about
for a bracket over the summer. We want to have
a bracket of of names that we can call people
that don't violate FCC rules, And Nimrod was one of them.
Remember that no nuts yipstick ding back. Let me ask
you a question, where were you two Nimrods during the
(26:31):
eighth and ninth inning last night, Where.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Were you sitting? I was up to the press box.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Where were you sitting? You were the sweet Okay, that's fine, Andrews.
You got to get your ass out of the press box.
Get out, get out, get in the crowd. Okay, get
on the concourse and experience it with the common folk.
Not doing yourself any favors by sitting there. You don't
need to be in there, all right. I realized there's
(26:56):
certain things you got to do work wise. But my
suggestion you, if they come back on Friday for a
game five and it's tight again in the eighth and
ninth inning, get your skinny.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Bony ass out of the press spot. Yes you are
compared to compared to us, you are.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Get your skinny bony ass out of there and go
experience that. Hey, mobile crowd, all right, all right, please,
I'll begging you because that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
All right, Hey, Dick, did you happen to hear that?
What's that? Dick?
Speaker 1 (27:22):
After the game to win, cal Raley joining Fox's postgame coverage,
and a Rod asked him about Julio's double and the
fans in Seattle over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
Take me through the emotions.
Speaker 7 (27:33):
As you're in second base, you have jay Ron at
the plate, he hits that double.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
A few questions, how fast were you running? How loud
was it?
Speaker 4 (27:41):
And tell me the feeling.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
How excited were you because it looked like you were flying.
Speaker 9 (27:45):
Yeah, I mean I thought I was flying, but it
was probably going pretty slow. Retired, but yeah, I know
you it's uh, it was crazy. As I've said third base,
you can feel the feel the ground shaking. So it's
you know, this crowd, they've been awesome this for two games,
and like I said, we're hoping to get many more
games here. And you know the city, you know, sinking,
you know, all being all the way up to the
(28:06):
northwest youse. Don't know about Seattle too much, but you
know they have really passionate sports fans here and they
really do love the Mariners.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
So huh.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
So you know what, this has got nothing to do
with that clip we heard at all, but and I
haven't watched any of it. All I've heard is the
clips that Andrews has played. Everyone keeps saying to me
that the FS one broadcast is terrible.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Is that accurate? I mean, I haven't heard a second. Yeah,
I haven't hate it.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
I honestly like it better than Burkhart and John Smoltz,
to be honest, which is their first breast.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
But it's not.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Great, gotcha, because Joe Davis does the World Series right, correct,
and he's awesome.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
Yeah, but Joe Davis, he's really really good.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
But somebody threw this I think it was Aaron Nagler
threw it out there that you know what, give the
fans an option, right, you know, give them a chance
to jump on and hear the hometown people call the game, right,
because it kind of sucks for them, and you know,
this is a storm broadcaster.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
You play the biggest games.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Of the year and then you got to take a
seat it stakes.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
It's terrible.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
I mean, I hate it every single year.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
But maybe they could do what ESPN does for the
National Championship, right. Doesn't ESPN put a separate channel out
there for the National champions where you.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
Could hear them home in the road broadcast.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
They have like five different channels, and I think one
of them has like nothing at all where you can
just watch the game.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
Like you're sitting in the cross exactly.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
Back to the cut real quick, though, if you were
to time cal raies the time it took him to
get from home plate to second and the time it
took him to get from second to home fastest cal
around on the bases of all time, Like no.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
Question, literally hing as he was, he was all in dump.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
It was like it's like somebody put a big dozen
maple bars at home plate and said, go get him,
go get him.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
Man, did you happen to hear what's that? Dick? After?
Speaker 1 (29:53):
Still a come high alum a mecca at Buka Torch
the Hawks defense On Sunday, Fox analyst Rob Gronkowski tried
to s out him out in the postgame show but
had trouble pronouncing his name.
Speaker 10 (30:03):
But Baker Mayfield also did it without his number one
wide receiver, Mike Evans. And you've got to give credit
to this rookie sensation wide receiver out of Ohio's day.
Meeka and Big Boo going for over one hundred yards. Akaka,
I'm getting to.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Loving Big Boo.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
I got it.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
I tried to draft him in fantasy that big Boo.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
I think he should just stay with that. Do you
think just call him big Boo? He's big Boo. That's
his nothing. His nickname is now Big Boo forget it.
And it sucks that he kicked our ass yesterday. But
he is so freaking it was crazy. He did nothing
in the first half.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
It was all the second half.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
It was just like JSN two weeks ago, where he
did nothing in the first half. And maybe that's what
Buckeye players do. I don't know, but I think he
should stick with it. I think it's it's genius. I mean,
it's hundreds of thousands of dollars. I mean, just if
he's not trademarking big Boo I'm talking about a Mecca,
then his marketing agents are asleep at the effing wheel Man.
(31:05):
He's got to trademark that. I'm not a Mecca. I'm
Big Boo. It's done. It's so freaking perfect. All right,
three point fifty four Hugh Millan is gonna join a
little more four with you recapping the entire weekend. Maybe
we'll try and slide in some husky chatter. Holy hell,
want to come back by them as well? Next on
ninety three to three KJRFM.
