Speaker 1 (00:00):
There we go. Squead got me this football.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
That's part of our relentless coverage of the NFL. It's
a Football Friday sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka, proud sponsor
of the Seahawks, distilled in Buddled by Fifth Generation Ain't Austin,
Texas forty percent alcohol.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Momallume save a responsibly. This crowd is going nuts.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Football Friday is on with Safie and Dick on Sports
Radio ninety three point three kJ r FM.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
All right, here we go in a busy, wet, rainy
Friday afternoon right here on ninety three to three kjr FM.
And there is some alternate universe out there, boys and girls,
where we are sitting around and we are two hours
away from I don't know how else to say, man, Saftie,
you have to get over it now, Pop, Paul Moyer.
I'm gonna start calling you, Paul Moyer. We're not getting

(00:54):
over it. We'll get over it on our own, damn terms.
Not some Schmendrick on Seahawks Radio. But there is some
alternate universe, guys, where we are two hours away from
having the time of our freaking lives tonight in Game
one of the World Series. You know, I'd assume that
Chuck and Buckert probably down there in LA getting ready
for Game one. We're on remote somewhere doing a big

(01:15):
old pregame show, having a big old party, getting ready
to go crazy for first pitch at at five o'clock
and eight outs away, Boys, eight outs away. So instead
it's Toronto, it's La and the World Series. And I
just put a little poll out on Twitter. Do you
plan on watching the World Series? Just a few minutes
in it's eighty one to nineteen percent. No, don't not play.

(01:38):
And you know what, I'm actually curious, Dick, because you
always like to get on people that say I don't
watch the NBA, I hate the NBA, and then they
watch the NBA. Right, Yes, So you see the ratings
listen for the opening night. I'm sure they are very good,
best since twenty ten. What do we think the numbers
for the World Series will look like in Seattle?

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Like?

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Do we have like Aaron Levine can track that ean
those TV people? Do we think that the majority of
people that actually say I'm not gonna watch the World
Series will actually follow through with that promise to not
watch the World Time?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
I think yes.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
However, I think the Dodgers being there makes it a
little bit more for the just generic sports fans like
I'm gonna watch shohe Otani and this team being talked about.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
As I heard.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Coward today, he said, if the Dodgers win the World Series,
they could be considered the best team in baseball history.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Which is ludicrous. Which is ludicrous. But they won ninety
three games.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Right, But I mean his take on his take on
that was they didn't give a damn so what between
April and September, right, they still won ninety three. Yes,
but if they are what they are, But I do
think we can take that into consideration. If they roll
through Toronto right like they've rolled through everybody else in
the playoffs, we can probably look at ninety three wins
and say, yeah, they probably didn't really.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
First of all, no disrespect to Colin Cowhard, He's not
the first one that said the Dodgers were bored during
the rega season. A lot of people, including on this show,
by the way, we're saying that that the Dodgers look
like they're kind of bored, and I honestly thought they
would step it up when the Padres were nipping at
their insists in the NL West and give San Diego
credit for kind of hanging around. But I think he's right,

(03:16):
and I think tons of people have said that that
when your ultimate goal is so far and above anything
that happens in the regular season, you just want to
get to the playoffs and you don't really give a
damn about the regular season. I mean, you know, the
Dodgers probably could have won one hundred and ten games
if they wanted to, honestly, so, I will say this

(03:36):
from a talent perspective, I agree that they might be
considered amongst the best collections of talent of all time.
But you don't get to be the greatest team ever
if you win ninety three games in the regular season.
If you want to be considered to be the greatest
team ever, then you have to care for six months.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, you got to care for six months, Dick.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
And I think if it was the Brewers in the
Blue Jays, it would just be minus zero Likens, oh
god zero. But I think the Dodgers, like the only
reason I'm going to watch a little is because.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I want to see show Hey playing the World Series.
I want to see Blake Snell pitching the words there are.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
There are superstar names on that team, which brings casuals
to the NBA Finals. It brings casuals to the World
Series when they're superstars playing on the biggest stage. I
think we have a tendency to watch well.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
I just want to see show Hey Otani shove his
bat up John Schneider's ass when he crosses home playing
with his fourth Grand Slam of the World Series. You
see what John Schneider said, by the way, about show Hey.
So you remember the report that came out when show
Hey was a free agent?

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Was it John Morosi visited Toronto?

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I don't remember who it was, but somebody, somebody had
a report that show Hey Otani was on a plane
to Toronto. I think it was, and he wasn't. It
was totally inaccurate, right, totally inaccurate. That there was a
story that the Blue Jays have actually confirmed and others
have confirmed that show Hey met with the Blue Jays
in Dunedin at their spring training facility and they gave

(05:01):
show Heyo Tani like a blue Jay's hat and a
blue Jay's jersey, and he took it with him, just
took it like people take towels from hotel room here
and just went home and never signed. So Schnyder's got
can give me my hat back whatever and show he
is like it's in my garage. So I really hope
and I'm with you because I like seeing great performances
by great players on the biggest stages that sports has

(05:23):
to offer.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
And I hope that shoe Heyo.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Tani hit seven hundred with a twenty five to ten
OPS in a four game sweep of the Toronto Blue
Jays and absolutely shoves it up their Canadian backside.

Speaker 6 (05:37):
I hope, I hope that happens for me. I don't
think I can watch it until. It's the same thing
with Oklahoma City, Like I was not gonna watch that
series against the Pacers until the Pacers had three wins,
and then I could watch with the hope of, oh
my gosh, they might actually lose.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
And this is the same philosophy for me.

Speaker 6 (05:55):
Yes, the Dodgers are so heavily favored as opposed to
the Pacers, but I don't think I can bring my
self to watch until the Dodgers have three wins because
the whole time, no matter what inning, no matter what score,
I'm just gonna be constantly thinking this should have been.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Discrect It's got text here, get over it from Paul Moyer.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Is that right? Man?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
He has he just hasn't given up on that.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
By the way, I'm not gonna let that go just
so you guys know, like for a long long time.
I mean, I'm gonna anytime there's anything that's of even
remote heartache in this town, like if the Seahawks lose
a game, anything, anything, I mean, the bar is gonna
be low.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
Okay, the bar to pull that thing out is gonna
be low. Yeah, I mean, I'm with you, Jackson. It
is not going to be destination television for me. But
I will watch occasionally, but I don't watch a ton
of the World series any.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yes, it is.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
That is very very fair to say, whereas I am
an NBA fan and a Sonics right and when they
come back, You're right. It was John Paul Morosi. And
by the way, he got detrolled yesterday by Jeff Passing.
Jeff Passons, Sweet Jeff Passons. Yesterday, Showy Tani is en
route to Toronto.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Today for Game one.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
That's doing.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
That's doing.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
I mean, I actually feel bad for John. That's gotta
suck man to have that thing get dug up. I mean,
who would who would have freaking thought right back in
the day and Torontado would be playing show hey Otani
in the World Series. So I don't know, you know,
hit us up with the text line four nine four
five one voting the poll on Twitter at softy kjr.
You know, how much do you plan on watching this thing?

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Starting to night? In Game one? You know, I was.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Talking to a buddy of mine. I was talking to
Ian and Cross talk about this. I gonna call from
a friend of mine and just said, hey, how you doing.
You know you're doing okay whatever. I was like, yeah,
I'm fine, get over it. No he did not say
it over it. But Paul wall if I, uh if
I was a ten on the misery scale on Tuesday morning,
I think I'm about a seven and a half. And
then you walk into a studio and you see the

(07:55):
two putts is from PTI talking about the World Series,
and it just jumps right back up to a nine
and a half over again. So look, those scars are
going to be there, guys for a long time. Man,
the the George Springer scar, were you guys surprised at all,
And I'm not saying it was a negative, don't don't
get me wrong at all. I was a little bit
surprised at how much Jerry Deboto yesterday admitted publicly that

(08:19):
George Springer is in his nightmares.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Were you surprised by that at all?

Speaker 4 (08:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (08:23):
It feels a little bit like Pedro Martinez saying I
call the Yankees my daddy in two and three.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Or was it four?

Speaker 6 (08:29):
And it just why would you allow that to be
out in the ether, because now Toronto, whenever they play us,
they're just gonna constantly be like.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Yeah, you know, George Bringer haunts you.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
We don't.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Why would you bring that on yourself?

Speaker 4 (08:42):
Jerry?

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Yeah, And again I mean you're you're you're a little
more worked up than I am. But I understand your
perspective entirely. Jackson, I was like, huh, that's kind of
a weird thing to say, to admit that, to give
the fans all that ammunition social media things.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Because it's the team president.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Though I don't know if it'll linger that much in
the ether, as we say, if it was Bizarto that
said it, if it was Logan Gilbert that said it,
if it was a player that said.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
It, then I think it would linger long.

Speaker 6 (09:15):
I mean, it's way worse that it's to Poto saying
that is the head haunch of the Seattle Mariners. And
I mean again, regardless of who said it, it wouldn't
even matter who said it. Fans are going to run
with that in Toronto and whenever every single game we
play the Blue Jays, all of those I was about
to say a bad word there, Toronto fans are going

(09:35):
to be all over us on social media saying.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
You know, George Springers and your dreams, George Bringers in
your nightmare. I'm worried about And I'm not really worried.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
It's probably the wrong word, but I guess I'm slightly concerned,
I guess, and curious about what the emotions are going
to feel like when the Blue Jays come back to
town next year, because they're going to pack the stadium again.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Right we've been sitting here, They're going to talk a
lot of smash towards Bringer.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
They're gonna run their mouths and Mariner fans aren't gonna
want to hear it, and they're not gonna want to
hear it more then than ever. Right, I mean, you
didn't want to hear it even last year or this
year in the regular season, because you know how much
that's bugged the hell out of us, that the Blue
Jay fans take over that ballpark and it bothers the
I mean it infuriates me. Infuriates me that I don't

(10:23):
believe it bothers ownership as much as it bothers the fans, and.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
That drives me crazy.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Okay, So it's already something that drives you nuts as
a fan. Remember Paul Sewall JP Crawford came out a
couple of years ago and bitched them out for putting
stuff up for sale in the team store.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
And this was two years ago.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
This is way before George Springer ripped our heart out.
So now add that on top of the emotional pie
and you're going to bring those fans into our park
next year they start running their pie holes and the
Mariner fans don't want to hear it.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Man, I don't know, I'm just looking.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
I'm not I'm not hope hoping for any kind of
you know, violence or any kind of Donnie Brooker, what
do you call it? Rub But if I'm the Mariners,
I might want to consider a little bit of extra
security for.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
That, I would get.

Speaker 5 (11:11):
I would agree with that's it. I think more Mariner
fans will want to go to that series next year
than in the past. Really, I do, I do. I
think I get think in the past, which is I
think in the past, I think most Mariner fans, like
you know, they're lukewarm at best.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Anyway, in the middle of in the in the middle.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
Of summer, yeah, and they're like, just let the blue
Jay fans come in have their fun.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
But now I.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
Think, I mean, we're gonna have a lot of fans
take holders next year.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
You might be right, he might. Well, first of all,
let's let's see about that.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Let's see how much their season ticket base jumps number
one talking to Mariners now and then number two. Maybe,
and just maybe, if I were to agree with you,
I would say you could be right, Dick, because maybe
people now will be motivated to buy those tickets to
keep those people out of the park. And what is
stopping Where is it written that the Mariner ownership can't

(11:59):
lead that charge.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
We did a great job keeping them out of the
park last week, Yes, we did a fabulous which we
should have.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
It was the playoffs, Like now, We're like, and Dick,
you're exactly right, and you have to way can't we
do it in July? Well, because it's not the playoffs
and people don't care as much.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
And I hope that you're right.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
I hope.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
I would love to see the Mariner ownership lead the
charge next year to say, we got to fix this.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
We need you there. We're gonna do this.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
We're gonna cut off ticket sales to anybody who can
who spells Center wrong with anybody who remotely speaks French.
You're not allowed in the park whatever, anything with the
Canadian passport, you can't. I mean just season ticket sales
are limited to zip codes in the state of Washington.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Blah blah blah.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
I mean, just go nuts, right, go nuts and act
like you're as angry as we are.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
I would love to see them do that. I would
also love to see that. You talk about motivations, I
still think, and a lot of this is based on
just what we've seen at Luminfield is the number one
motivation of people is money, is financials. And I think
two things are going to happen. You're going to see, yes,
some season tickets increase for the Mariners, but you're also
going to see prices increase and on top of the tickets, yeah, they.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Do variable they'll increase season ticket I think they will
after this season.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
So what you'll see then is the is a the
prices go up and then demand for those Blue Jays
season right, know that the band goes up, so people
will see that, oh, my tickets can now get me
this much money.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Yeah, I'm gonna sell. You have to look up, but
I don't even know if you can do this online.
This might be one of those things where you have
to actually call somebody. I'd like to know how much
season tickets are right now versus how much they'll be
in a month from now, or how much they were
a month ago versus how much they are not because
the ms are the ms were selling and like I said,
they're capitalists. I mean they'll take their opportunists, they'll take
advantage of it. And during the playoff run they were

(13:47):
offering a chance to buy World Series tickets if you
buy a package for next season.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Right, They're not stupid.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
I mean they know that there's a way to make
more money off this whole thing. But you know, god
darn it, I had a thought in my head and
I lost. Well, will you grabbed that thought?

Speaker 5 (13:59):
I would, I would say, as far as the brawl goes,
I would tell I would warn Blue Jay fans, Mariner
fans aren't just gonna take your crap this year.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Yeah, like that time pass And I totally agree with you.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
There will be Donnie Brooks, Rhubarbs, et cetera in that
stadium next year.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
I don't think there's any doubt about it.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Yeah, I just I think this. This is what I
was gonna say. And Jackson has no idea what we're
talking about. But do you remember Dick back in the
day when they would blackout Monday night football games or
Seahawk games and Seattle home games, and if there was
like five thousand tickets left, like the guy that owned
Jeffco would buy the final five thousand tickets and everyone
cell phones. Some some business would step up and they

(14:40):
would buy all the remaining tickets and the blackout would
be lifted so fans could watch the game on TV.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
That was a real thing. Jackson's like, huh that.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
Actually Karen ken Bearing owned the team and there was
a lot of people didn't want to go.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Well, I mean, and it happened all over the country, right,
It was all over the country.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
It wasn't just Seattle.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
When games would get blacked out in local companies would say,
you know what, there's an opportunity for some goodwill. We're
gonna buy every single ticket left and people will know
the game is.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
On TV because of us. Wow.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
And that was a deal. What I would love to
see happen is some local company step up next year.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Ask the Mariners.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
Okay, after season tickets are sold, after individual tickets go
on sale, how many seats are left? Ten thousand, I'm
buying them all for the entire series. How about we
go back to the old days, back in the eighties
and early nineties, and some local company steps up.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Maybe ihearm doesn't and some.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Local companies, excuse you, some local company steps up and
they buy all the tickets, and they get all the credit,
and they just give them out to Mariner baseball fans,
or they don't even give them anybody.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
I'd rather see ten thousand empty seats and ten thousand bus.

Speaker 5 (15:47):
Out, give them boys and gloves, girls clubs, schools, absolutely, whatever, anything.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
So we got a chance to do that next year,
and I really hope we get creative and somebody does that. Okay,
we're gonna break factor fiction brought to you the Lucky
Eagle Casino and Hotel where every day feels lucky. We
are looking to extend our lead. We are eighteen and
fourteen on the air. After our win on Monday night
with the Hawks. We have opened up a two game

(16:14):
lead over Chuck and Buck and MJ and Chris Kidd
and we are looking to take off like a rocket
this week. So we got a chance for you to
qualify for one thousand dollars. That's coming next. Lee Sterling
at three forty five and Bill Krueger with his final
visit of the year.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Crugar just texted me and said not today.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
I thought.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
He said, get over it and I We'll talk to
Bill next week. Down on ninety three three KJRFM.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Now back to Football Friday sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka
on your home for the NFL Sports Radio ninety three point.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Three kr FL.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Hey, I got five pairs of tickets for the UW
Illinois game tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
You want them? You want all five? Jackson? Do you
have nine buddies you can bring to the Husky game tomorrow?

Speaker 6 (17:06):
I probably don't have nine friends periods. Who wants to
be Jackson's friend?

Speaker 3 (17:12):
And go to the Husky game tomorrow because the Sounders
play Monday night?

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Is that right?

Speaker 3 (17:16):
I do against Minnesota? So you got the day off tomorrow?

Speaker 1 (17:19):
I don't, Oh.

Speaker 6 (17:21):
Tomorrow, I'm working in an event over at T Mobile
in Factoria tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
It's no for the f iHeart for Hits one on
six point one. You're wearing like a panda costume or something.

Speaker 6 (17:32):
You're talking as I come to see Jackson felt it's
a come see one of it Hits one o six one,
and I'm going to be out there from nine to
eleven am.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
No, kids, it's a first responder event. So say hello
at are you the big draw, the big talent? No, god, no,
that's Victoria. I never needs to do that. Victoria Ramera
is never ready to do like car Toys back in
like nineteen ninety nine. Yeah, and then nobody showed up.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
They're like, okay, I didn't want to Northwest Sports tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Let's go all right, So go see Jackson tomorrow. What
time again?

Speaker 3 (18:02):
You said nine to eleven am at the T Mobiles
store in Factoria because their headquarters are in Factoria.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Where's the actual store.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
It's the it's actually right across from the mall. I believe, okay,
because those are my old stopping ground. I noticed, you know,
the headquarters were T mobile is up on the hill
there and the white I could tell you some stories
about some stuff that went down and those there woods
man back in the day.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Back in the day.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
We love you lots of stories. Don't need that sacred well,
they weren't even there. It used to be a freaking forest.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Oh are you kidding me? When I was a kid,
share the story buildings?

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Back when I was a kid, the Factoria Movie Theater
was a drive in. I remember when the McDonald's went
in in Factoria. That was a huge freaking day. You
ever see the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape? You never
saw What's Eating Gilbert Grape Leo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp?

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Are you kidding?

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Man?

Speaker 1 (18:56):
I don't remember anything about it for a big movie.
Kind of sore like you that And this is incredible.

Speaker 6 (19:01):
So I know that there's a drive in still in Shelton, Washington.
I need to know where the other drive ins around
our because I'd love a closer driving to where you live.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
I love driving movie theaters. I haven't been in one years.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
But yeah, the Factoria movie theater back in the day
when I was a kid, was a drive in and
then McDonald's went in. And if you've never seen What's
Eedon Gilbert Draped, then you'll never get this analogy.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
But there's a scene in the movie where they like.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Bringing a tasty freeze or whatever and it's like the
biggest event in the history of the town. Oh my god,
we gotta take the free people are going nuts and
they opened up McDonald's and it was nuts.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Man.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
So yeah, t mobile that those had, that those buildings
haven't been there forever. Forty years ago happened in the woods.
A lot of experimentation on a lot of things went
on in those woods. So yeah, speaking of that, neither
you have that in your head. Go see Jackson. So
Richard Sherman, Yes, we're gonna well talk more about this

(19:54):
at what four o'clock today was on Amazon last night
before the Charger game, or was it after the Charger game, whatever,
it doesn't really matter. And he says, the Seahawks are
Super Bowl contenders out of the NFC, and look, we'll
dive into this more at four o'clock. Here's some audio
at four o'clock, and I would tend to agree with him.
And you know what, there's one big reason that's very

(20:15):
similar to why we were bullish on.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
The Mariners this year.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
I think, just like the American League, the NFC is
wide open.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Yes, yes, wide open. I think that's right.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
And I think another I think another thing that we
can tie to the Mariners as well, because we thought, hey,
this starting pitching is going to keep you in every game,
regardless of how good your offense is. And I think
Seahawks fans now realize that this defense is going to
keep you in every game against every team. They've had
one half off all season, long second half against Tampa Bay.

(20:47):
Other than that, they have basically been the best defense
in the world right the other six and a half games.
So this is like the Mariners starting pitching that we
thought we were going to get this year that we
didn't really get this year.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
They're just going to keep you in every single game.

Speaker 5 (21:01):
So even when your offense is sputtering, worst case scenario,
it's gonna be like thirteen to seven at the beginning
of the fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
It's hard to imagine the Hawks getting drilled by anybody.
I just hope come playoff time, the defense doesn't fall
apart like the Mariners starting pitching phill apart, because that
was I mean, that is such a I always said
something bad.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
It's a pisser, is what it is.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Right, Because all of us and everybody had the same
take on this, man, we weren't alone. Just get in,
get in, and maybe this was you know, get in.
Anything can happen, And maybe losing Game seven was one
side of anything can happen, right, and anything can happen
also could have meant maybe winning the whole freaking thing.
But not to transition to ams here for a quick second.

(21:46):
But I was left disappointed in the performance by the
rotation in the Blue Jay series, weren't you.

Speaker 5 (21:52):
I was left disappointed by the performance of the rotation
the entire season. Yeah yeah, I mean, I just thought
it was underwhelming based upon what we saw in twenty
twenty four, which was how good can all these guys be?
I hope they didn't all have their career years in
one season where they didn't even make the playoffs. Well,
which is exactly.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Why you guys know where I'm going say it again,
exactly why I'm still bitter about the twenty twenty four season.
I mean, I'm heartbroken about this season. But my god,
we're gonna look back in a decade from now and go,
wait a minute, you had the best pitching staff in
baseball and you couldn't even make the playoffs. Because that's
the point, Dick, is that Who knows when we'll see

(22:33):
that again? Who knows when we'll see this kind of
year from cal Riley? I mean, how many home runs
top of your head, boom you think cal Rowley hits
next year? Fairly fifty forty five, forty five whatever, Yeah right,
and you look, he might be a better overall hitter,
but have less home runs. But the pitching staff, guys,
we don't even know if they're going to be together

(22:53):
next year. They may trade one of these dudes, who knows, man,
I mean maybe in a fantasy land, they trade one
for a back and they go out and they sign
Trek Scouble to a free agent contract, which it makes
sense to do if they can upgrade their pitching staff
for as good as they are now and use and
get a bat and then go out and sign a
guy like that or excuse me. Trade for a guy

(23:15):
like that in free agency or on the trade market,
I'd be all four.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
All right, Factor fiction right now, where's that to go?
Glad you're with us.

Speaker 2 (23:21):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's Factor Fiction, probably presented
by Lucky Eagle Casino and hotel where every day Feels Lucky.
Fact Door Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety three point
three KJR.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
All right, film, this's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
So I got two games in mind, and I really
haven't made up my mind on which one I want
to go with. So I'm gonna let Jackson Dick indirectly,
not even knowing which game he's picking, make the selection.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Why are you having Jackson?

Speaker 4 (23:56):
Right?

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Because Jackson's hot, He's coming off a win, he's on
a roll so much.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
Well, okay, I'm sorry. I thought I get Jackson involved
and let him get the kid a shot up. He's
got his big T Mobile appearance tomorrow. He's a superstar.
I'm just helping out. I'm okay.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
Here's the deal.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Here's the deal.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Jackson Cougar's are ducks. Pick one Cougars are Ducks, Cougars.
We're going Titans and the fourteen and I half like
that against Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
Like that, if you if you.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Had said Ducks, that would have taken Oregon minus to
thirty one at home versus Wisconsin because you said Coug's
are gonna take cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans, who.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
Are on the road.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
I think a classic trap game for the Colts. They're
riding high. Everybody is telling them how great they are.
They got Pittsburgh next week, and they're given they're getting.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
The Titans are fourteen and a half.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
Don't get me wrong, I think the Titans are terrible,
but I think beating anybody by fifteen points or more
than the NFL is hard.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Give us the Titans on the points.

Speaker 6 (24:51):
I will also say Tajy Spears healthy for the Titans.
That helps their run game, It'll help out cam Ward,
it will help that offense. I like this pickle up.
I think it's great.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
I mean, Indianapolis is not a fourteen and three thirteen
and fourteen like they're trending to being.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
There's gonna lose some games.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
They're probably not gonna lose this one, but I think
we're gonna see some cracks in the armor and they
may win by a touch.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Well, here's the thing they could be.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
They could be down twenty one points in the fourth quarter,
get a garbage touchdown and cover it. Yeah okay, I
mean we're not asking for a win here, we're asking
to cover the fourteen and a half point spread.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
You're gonna lose, just lose by two touchdowns. You'd check
what the money line is on that game too.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Now you're talking interesting.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
Now you're talking getting them plus seven hundred, Yeah, six hundred.

Speaker 3 (25:32):
I'm gonna put some coinagehn tell you what all the
money that you were gonna spend on World Series tickets,
you can put on the Titans. Man Titans plus the
fourteen and a half is the play?

Speaker 1 (25:42):
You like it? Fact you hate it? Fiction to four
nine four five one.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
All brought to you by are brought to you by

Speaker 4 (26:35):
Dial all right, here we go.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
A chance to make a couple of coins for the weekend.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
By the way, don't bet on anything until you hear
from our friend Lee Sterling, who is a four and
six in his last couple of weeks on the air,
but preceded that by a four weeks sixteen and four
run and we think he is due to get back
on the bus. Twenty two seventeen and one overall in
the air. Not bad for Lee Sterling Paramount Sports, who

(27:01):
joins us now on the air. How are you man?

Speaker 4 (27:04):
I'm okay hanging in there now you guys went through
a tough week. Unfortunately we've been texting.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Makes criminal character, didn't know any of that stuff. Yeah,
now your mom horrible news, horrible.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
How was she doing by the way, yep, not great,
not great. So at least we got her back to
her retirement place and she's resting. But you know, it's
tough tough to tell tell your mother she has cancer.
So rough, rough week.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Yeah, well we were with you, man. I've met your
mom multiple times.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
She is a sweetheart of a lady, even more so
for having put up with you her entire life. Man,
So we love her to death and you give her
a hug from us. All right, man, I will thank you.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Well, let's get to some pics. This week.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Indiana is back at home in Bloomington. UCLA's rolling. The
Bruins are getting twenty one and a half. Does the
does the Bruin hype train keep rolling or come to
a screeching this Saturday in Bloomington?

Speaker 4 (28:02):
How about this? Since we sent you the list of
the lines, this line has blossomed up all the way
to twenty five and a half points. So think Indian
is good, but they don't play real fast. There's still
bottom fifteen in pace of play. I think they're gonna
have score in seventy five to eighty percent of their
possessions if they want to cover this number. I think

(28:24):
UCLA is an absolutely different team now, like the fact
Jerry new high school obviously you know his father quite well,
taking a lot of input from players, and Nico is
rolling Indiana wins forty two to twenty one. Ruins cover
all right?

Speaker 1 (28:39):
All right?

Speaker 5 (28:39):
The old rivalry game in the Big Ten, Michigan giving
fourteen and a half at Michigan State.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Who do you like?

Speaker 4 (28:47):
So this line if Michigan would have lost, so they
win by maybe a field goal or a touchdown last
week and Michigan State plays a little bit better over
the last month, doesn't lose. We're straight. They did cover
three of the four, though this line would be probably
eight and a half nine, it's now fourteen and a

(29:07):
half points. One of the biggest rivalry games here. I
know Michigan State defense has been awful, giving up six
point two yards per play thirty two points per game.
They rank one hundred and nineteenth overall. But defense is
about hustle and emotion. I think the crowd is going
to fuel this game that Jonathan Smith didn't know what

(29:28):
it was all about last year. I think he's got
a good idea now. I think they've got a quarterback
that can push the ball down the field some I
think this game goes down to the wire. Michigan wins
this game here thirty twenty four, and I'm taking Michigan State. Hint, hint.
That's one of the games for my clients.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
I love it takes party in the points against the Wolverines.
You dub Illinois tomorrow. Husky Stadium could be rainy, could
be windy. Huskies might be getting some linemen back. They're
giving four and a half against the ALLAINI tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
Yep. Then I needed a bye week after a sound
beating at the hands of Ohio State. Washington gets to
return here home after scoring just seven points at Michigan.
Huskies haven't allowed more than twenty four points in a
game this season thanks to that great pass defense, and
I think they can match up with Illinois passing strength

(30:20):
here and they get him a long down in distance situations.
I think we're going to get some turnovers here. Dog's
thirty four ALIGNI twenty four. There we go.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
That's what we want to hear all right to the
NFL Packers giving three in Pittsburgh against.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Aaron Rodgers the old Rogers rivalry game. What do you like?

Speaker 4 (30:41):
All right? So other than Michael Parsons, I don't see
a whole lot I like on the Green Bay defense
and opening week they were great against Detroit they punched
him in the mouth, but since then not much I like.
Also Jordan Love. Don't think he's clicking on all cylinders.
I don't think they have a true number one receiver
on defense. I think their cornerbacks are bottom five in

(31:04):
the NFL. I know Pittsburgh's offense hasn't totally been clicking
all cylinders, but I think you're going to see Aaron
Rodgers ready to go here. He'll be studying a lot
of film getting ready for his old team here. And
I think the defense I think we're going to see
in an inspirational bunch. I think they have the talent
they should be playing at a higher level. And moncdonlin

(31:26):
kenan four is a home dog or a small favorite.
The last three seasons here, a rural team favored Pittsburgh
went straight up twenty four.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
All right, take Pittsburgh in the points against the Pac Texans.
We'll work with that two and a half point line.
Lee on this game, Texans at home given two and
a half against the Niners.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
The line for the Texans is horrific. I know that
the San Franz getting more and more guys back here,
but this is a home game and home field to
the Houston team here. Got some young receivers. Maybe they
can get going here. Maybe it's special teams is the difference. Also,

(32:09):
think that their defense is going to play much much
better here. San Francisco inter Division, they've been money but
playing teams out of the division been money burners. Here
we're calling for the upset here. Wow, Houston twenty to
seventeen over San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Take Texas in the two and a half over San Francisco.
How about the Broncos and the Cowboys. They're cleaning out
the prize closet here, Lee at work at the iHeart Studios,
and there's a bunch of Bronco Buster T shirts that
they're given away from simply Seattle, from our rivalry with
Denver back in the AFC West days. So will the

(32:45):
Cowboys be Bronco Busters mile high or will Denver get
the best of Dallas this weekend.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
All they need to do if they want to find
out called eight hundred four hundred nine seven one. Again
the number eight hundred four hundred nine seven one, and
anyone wants to hop on board. How about this? The
last five Sundays for our clients, we've gone five and
oh five and oh five and oh four and one
and four and one. We are twenty three and two.

(33:15):
It's called Lee's NFL Sunday Golden Ticket. Five games every
Sunday for four weeks, just one hundred and ninety seven dollars.
What are you waiting for? One place Paramount sports dot com?

Speaker 1 (33:27):
All right, love it hey.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
By the way, just so we're clear on the on
the right pick here. You're taking the Texans to beat
the Niners and cover that two and a half.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (33:37):
I am? Yep?

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Got you? All right? Lee, you're the man. Best to
your mom. We'll talk soon, okay, Thanks, Hey, guys.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
Lee Sterling with us. He likes UCLA and the points
against Indiana. Helects Michigan State to cover against Michigan, Huskies
to cover against Illinois, Pittsburgh the Steelers to cover against
Green Bay and the Texans to win and cover against
the forty nine ers. By the way, if you're waiting
for a bounce back on fact fiction, we have a
glitch in the system. But we did get your pick,

(34:04):
all right. They are telling me behind the scenes, well,
there's a lot to worry about, but this is not
one of them. We did get your text and you're
all good to go if you texted factor fiction all right.
Are the Seahawks legit Super Bowl contenders out of the NFC?

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Richard Sherman thinks they are. Is he crazy? We'll talk
about it next on ninety three three KJJRFM.
