Speaker 1 (00:00):
Where we go ian Literally, he said in the ear
he doesn't like doing it, but he did it anyway.
There was nothing forcing him to release the entire Seahawks schedule.
There's people listening right now that haven't been on social
media that don't know what's going on.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
With some sort of responsibility. Since it's out there, then
it's a news store. Why do we let social media
push us around?

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Is that what we do now? Yeah? Yeah, you're right. Well,
the other piece of bad news is that Mike Florio
will not be on the air today at three ten.
But the good news is he'll be on the air
tomorrow with us at three ten. The reason why is
because we wanted to Well, there's actually two reasons why.
Number one, our phone lines aren't working, which we could
have rectified that and had him on the ear over zoom.

(00:43):
But then Jackson and I said, well, wait a minute,
hold on, this might be a chance to just do
this tomorrow with lessing in disguise. Well, and then we
can talk about the entire schedule right when Mike comes
on the ear today or at tomorrow at three ten.
So we're gonna push Florio to tomorrow. Petros will join
us in the four o'clock hour. He might be running late.
There's a chance we might have Petros at four twenty,

(01:05):
if not four o'clock, the Mariners Yankees obviously going on
down there at T Mobile Park. But yeah, the schedule
is is out, my friend, It is out and is glorious,
and it is right here. I had this just so
you know, I want to prove this to you. Everything
was written down today, and the yellow that you see
highlighted their dick was games that were already a reported

(01:25):
by me or other trustworthy sources. And I was only
going to talk about those ones. And then mister big
mouth from one to three put it out over the air,
so we got no damn choice. We got talk.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I guess five o'clock becomes studio seven pm.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
I guess I pull it up online.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Maybe they meant five o'clock eastern right two o'clock. Well,
it's all over Twitter, So I would go to Twitter
if you want to get well, is there a place
that it's where it's organized?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I don't think no. There's a couple of Twitter accounts,
like our buddy Hawk blogger has a little graphic he made.
You go to his Twitter look at it. But I mean,
just just real quick, all right, this is what you're
gonna hear at five o'clock tonight, Week one, opening up
against the Niners, which we reported yesterday. I hope you
followed that. Week two at Pittsburgh. The DK Metcalf game
is going to be in Pittsburgh. Week two, September fourteenth.

(02:12):
Week three at home against the Saints. The Apple Cup,
by the way, is the day before, just so you know.
Week four at Arizona on Thursday Night football, where you know,
weird things happen at Arizona on Thursday Night football. Week
five Tampa Bay on the fifth of October. Then you
flip around and go to Jacksonville on the twelfth. But

(02:32):
then you come home and have an extra day off
to rest after your long cross country trip. And you
got the Texans and CJ. Stroud October twentieth at home
on Monday Night football. Ub Michigan, by the way, is
also that Saturday, so if you're gonna head to Michigan
to watch the Dogs, you'll have the extra day to
get home for the Seahawk game ocause there's no game
on Sunday, right The bye is that next week. Week eight,

(02:55):
Week nine at the Commanders on Sunday Night football. Week ten,
you come back here. You take on Arizona week eleven,
the Rams Week twelve at Tennessee on the twenty third
of November. The Vikings come here the next week on
November thirtieth, Michael Pennix in his house on December seventh
at Atlanta. Week fourteen, Week fifteen, the Colts are coming here.

(03:18):
Week sixteen, you host the Rams on Thursday Night football,
and then you wrap it up with consecutive trips to Carolina,
which could be on a Saturday, by the way, Dick,
and then week eighteen in Santa Clara at San Francisco. So,
as of right now, the Seahawks have four primetime games.
Some of those could be flexed obviously as the year
goes by. Two Thursday night games, a Sunday night game,

(03:40):
and a Monday night game here in Seattle against Houston.
So that and all that's naked glory is the Seahawks
twenty twenty five schedule, all right now?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Aren't you happy that we got all that given to
us right now at three oho seven pm instead of
having to wait an hour fifty three minutes.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
So thank you, Ian, I'm really not to be honest
with it. Yeah, I mean I don't mind it coming out,
but at this point, this late in the game, a
couple of games here and there, I'm fine with. But
there is now absolutely zero intrigue for five o'clock. None,
none could put zero. I don't know about the only
intriguing thing for us is to find out if we're
right number one, which we are, by the way, and

(04:18):
then number two. What are some of the other big
matchups division the Rams schedule, Niners schedule. But all these
international games are already out, like the Vikings are playing
back to back games overseas in Ireland and London and
consecutive weeks. You saw that they're going to stay out there,
like week one is already done. The Amazon Thursday night
schedules already out for the entire season. There's not much left, man.

(04:39):
What about our pocket schedules. We'll do that later on.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I mean, that is worthwhile, worth people hanging visiting our
partitions from last year. So you think people at five
o'clock are going to be intrigued by how much pie
we have on our face from last year?

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Is that what you're saying? How much egg on our face?
I guess we'll find out. Okay. So I've been intriguing,
all right, So be a pie in the room. So
five o'clock. God, I love pie. So five o'clock tonight,
we'll just confirm everything right when the Seahawks officially announced
their schedule, and then after that we'll go back and
revisit our predictions from last year and then make our
predictions from this year of five point thirty.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Right.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
So, I mean I was talking to Millan Dick driving
in today and I kind of just look at the
schedule like, okay, it's it's like a Puget Sound energy
outage map, right, which we've all looked at, okay, or
a Comcast outage map.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Right.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Where's the trouble spots, where's the red where's the trouble
spots in the Seahawks schedule? Is there any stretch here
where you say, oh man, that's gonna be a bitch.
That three or four weeks right there, that's gonna be tough.
Is there a trouble spot on the Seahawks schedule? You know,
the good news is there's really not. But the bad
news is there's really not a stretch like we saw

(05:48):
at the beginning of last season. Remember that we were like, wow,
look at that.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
We get bon Nicks, we get rookie bon Nicks, then
we get Jacoby Brissett, and then at the time we
thought we got two, it actually got Skylart. But we
did look at those three games like, you got to
be at least two in one, if not three and oh.
After those three they were three and oh and you
know guess what that got us? Yeah, bup, guess but
at least we started three and oh. So I don't
see a death stretch like we did last year. Last year,

(06:15):
wasn't it like Washington like Philadelphia Niners? There was a
stretch in November that was just absolutely brutal. I mean
the worst stretch. I mean, you got Washington away and
the Rams away over a course of three weeks, but
you got a home game against the Cardinals in the middle.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
I don't see back.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Honestly, Probably the toughest back to back games you have
might be the first two. They might be the first
two games San Francisco at home. Now, Pittsburgh's not supposed
to be very good.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Who's our quarterback? But it's still not Aaron Rodgers. I mean,
if Aaron Rodgers signs with Pittsburgh change everything. I mean,
I thought he was pretty good in the second half
of the year, but I mean that's why your.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Toughest stretch, right San Francisco had been at Pittsburgh. Well,
always tough to win.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Its a lot changes between what we think we know
now and what reality will look like in December for
the NFL. Right, Like I'm looking at last year because
you mentioned last year. Last year they had a stretch
of San Francisco and then going all the way to
Atlanta and then Buffalo and the Rams, and they lost
three of those comes brutal the Seahawks did, right, So
that was like maybe trouble spot number one from last year.

(07:27):
Remember two years ago in twenty twenty three, they had
a San Francisco, Dallas, San Francisco, Philadelphia four games in
a row and they lost all of them. They lost
all those games and they and they sandwiched it. No sorry,
they beat the Eagles, but they lost to the Rams
before that stretch began, and they went one in four

(07:48):
in those five games. So I don't know if there's
a trouble spot like that this year. But the concern
that I would have is that's it's gonna happen at
some point. The schedule is going to look different in
October and November than it does to Right, found our
easiest stretch. I found our easiest stretch.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
It is week twelve through fifteen, because here are the
quarterbacks you go against, Right, you go against cam Ward, Right,
you go against j McCarthy, you go against Michael Pennix stretch,
and you go against the Colts.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Who's the Colts quarter Anthony.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Richards Anthony maybe right, that's your stretch, right, there's not
a quarterback there.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
And then extend that by two weeks it's the Panthers. Yeah,
I'm in seventeen.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Yeah, so I mean there's on the road though, there's
your stretch.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
That hopefully at that point, like after week eleven you've
played ten games, maybe you're only like five and five.
Make some hay and at least go three and one
in those games and lock up a playoff spot.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Well, and here's your cool thing too. I guess if
you're thinking about miles, the Seahawks I think have like
the third most air miles coming up this season. So
the game that's at Washington, which is a long ways away,
you got to buy the week before that game. The
game at Carolina, which is a long way away, you
play on Thursday night the previous week, so you get
two extra days of rest before that game. The game

(09:06):
with Jacksonville you're at home, so at least you're at home.
You're not coming back from a road trip obviously, So
all three of those real long trips that they've got
this year, they do get a little bit of a break.
I think with those three games. You know, again, I
was looking at some of the Husky road trip possibilities,
and those days are kind of over now that we're
not in the Pac twelve anymore, right, I mean, the
whole going to LA, going to Phoenix, going to Stanford

(09:29):
and cal and playing the Niners again. I was kind
of hopeful that maybe they played the Commanders the week
of the Husky Maryland game. That's not going to happen.
And was hopeful they played the Rams in LA the
week at the UCLA game, and that's not going to happen.
But yeah, I mean, as I was talking to Hugh
on the air two days ago, look at the home
schedule and tell me the best quarterback that's coming to Seattle.

(09:51):
I think it might be Baker Mayfield and then look
at the road schedule and it's Jayden Daniels probably right, yes,
it was in year number two in the NFL. I mean,
he should be good, but is there a sophomore slump
coming for him? So this is another example of why
I don't understand what the hell Vegas is thinking with
the seven and a half. Yeah, it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
And a lot of times, and you're right about like
what you think a team's gonna be is gonna be
different than what they actually are in four or five
weeks or four or five months. But what you think
of a quarterback right now probably isn't gonna change much
other than you can have a Jade and Daniels situation
where you think he's pretty good and he turns out
to be awesome. But if you're facing a veteran quarterback,

(10:31):
you pretty much know what type of quarterback you're getting
when you're playing.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
But there's a lot of young guys on the schedule,
a lot of young What is what's Cam Warden? I
don't know what's Bryce Young? Developed? What's Bryce Young? What's
JJ McCarthy. What's Jaden Daniels going to be? Does he
take a step back as Trevor Lawrence finally pull his
head out of as you know what Kyler Murray? You know,
is he gonna, you know, a rup? They got some
help down there for him. Finally at wide receiver. Who's
the damn Saints quarterback? Is it Spencer Rattler as Tyler Shuck?

(10:56):
Who's playing quarterback for them? I mean, you got you
got two of the first four games of the year.
You don't even know who you're playing Pittsburgh in the Saints.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
I'm see in seven games against quarterbacks in their first, second,
or third year. Seven games, Yeah, and not very many
of them are study McDonald cook, Yeah, not many of
them a studys. Jamire's a stud and some people would
argue c. J. Stroud's a stud. Other than that, no
studs in there.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
This is where you really got to have the Mike
McDonald expertise and his defense take off right what they
did the end of last season and just pick back
up on that and light these young quarterbacks up.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
I mean, I think Michael Pennix is going to be
a stud. I'm not sure soon he's gonna be a
stud by week fourteen of the first year.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Well, i'd rather play him early though, I would too,
to be honest with you, Yeah, I mean I would
actually completely go the opposite of what you just said
that if he's going to be a stud, it's that's
when it's going to be happening.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Oh, I just met in the first year. He's probably
not going to be a stud. He's still going to
be learning. He look pretty damn good at the end
of the year when he took over for Kirkushi. I
think he's going to be great.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
I mean, I agree with you, So i'd kind of
as much as I love Mike, i'd much rather face
him early in the season. You know, look other quarterbacks.
Cam Ward is going to have, you know, eleven games
under his belt. JJ McCarthy is going to have, if
he stays healthy, twelve games under his belt. Penics will
have thirteen starts this year under his belt. Who knows
if Anthony Richardson's going to be healthy or not for

(12:17):
that game. Who knows what the hell the Rams situation
is going to be with old man Stafford. Obviously, brock
Perty's playing for a contract that who knows if he's
ever going to sign that damn thing, And you're getting
him in the opener and you're getting them to end
the year. So look, I just think again, a lot
can change, and a lot will change. The seven and
a half for me, is like taking candy from a baby.

(12:39):
It's just so dumb. It is so dumb that Vegas
put the over under his seven and a half. It's
like they thought they were doing the Seahawks, but really
they were thinking about I don't know, Carolina, and they
just messed up. I don't think unless we're missing something,
I got to get that right now.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
It's not going to be seven and a half for long.
It's the national narrative about Sam Donold. It really comes
down to that, because the national narrative is, wow, he
was in Minnesota with a good offensive line with Justin Jefferson,
with Jordan Addison.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
He can't recreate that in Cela. Now that doesn't and
now he doesn't have VK and that's the national narrative. Well,
I know that, Like the Queen, I think they're an
MGM sportsbook. They still have it at seven and a half.
There's a couple of different sports books out there that
now have it at eight and a half, by the way,
including Bally. So yeah, you might want to find seven
and a half. So how do I get on? Yeah,

(13:26):
you want to know why. You're gonna tell you why.
I will tell you why. Okay, just an idiot, all right,
there's what we got going on. We got the PGA

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Kids? Is how a professional radio person does it on
the air. So here's what we got. Before you even
wager a penny on the PGA Championship, you must listen
to Di's picks on the PGA Championship tomorrow starting in
North Carolina. Dick, what do you got.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Let's start at the top. Let's start with the win
the win ticket. I cannot believe Bryson d Schambeau is
three times longer odds and Rory McElroy and Scottie Scheffler.
Now it's not three times anymore because people have bet
it down to about eight to one, nine to one.
But look at the final round pairing as the Masters.
Rory Bryson top two in the US Open, Bryson Rory
PG Championship, Xander Bryson, what's the player that is has

(16:33):
been there every single major of the last three Bryson
d Chambeau. He's ready to win. He's perfectly suited for
this course. I would bet him at whatever you.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Can bet him at. Okay, I mean I got him
at fifteen to one. He's minus nine thousand, nine to one. Yes,
I'd still bet him at ninety one. Yes, I'd still
bet him in nine to one. So like him to win.
I like him to win.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
The only other guy I like to win and not
as much, and his odds are less as Rory McElroy
So I think go go top five kind of a
top five. I think Royer will compete. I just don't
think he'll win. Back to back Mans then two guys
you can just count on every single time out.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Xander Schoffley JT. Justin Thomas Sanders.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Shoffley JT is my free money play of the week,
My free money.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Play of the week, like free money Fleetwood was.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Free money Fleetwood. That was the truth that was It
was a top twenty. Remember when he finished the Masters
twenty first twenty first and the free money Player of
the week doesn't count horseshoes stared, but six top tens
and eleven starts this week for JT, he's playing too
well not to finish in the top twent So JT
Top twenty is your free money player, free money player,

(17:39):
guaranteed winner, guaranteed winner, guaranteed winner, and then.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
The odds on him for top twenty.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
By it's basically even money, even even even money for
top twenty free money play of the week, and then
we'll get you. I mentioned Xander as well as as
a top ten pick. That's plus two hundred, so you
get a little more value for for Xander as a
top ten now my top twenties. Yes, yes, I'm just
gonna give you the names and just a real sore
reason why got it? Harris English Top twenty getting pretty

(18:04):
good odds there. I believe it's a plus three hundred
in some books for a Arris English Top twenty. He
is a great ball striker. You have got to be
long on this course. You got a puttwall in this course,
and he does both of those things. Harris English, Sepstraca
and Shane Lowry. Two players that are very similar to
each other steps at plus two ten Shane's at plus
one point eighty. I like both those step just coming

(18:26):
off a win this last week on my final three
guys Jackson Feltz look alike Doppelganger. I'm going Patrick Greed again.
He paid off for me the Masters. I took him
in the Masters. I took Reed to do what top
twenty plus two fifty.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
How about this? Nobody likes Patrick Reed.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Patrick Reed was not even invited to the Ryder Cup
dinner by Keegan Bradley.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
He's Bo Callahan. He is Bo Callahan. No friends they.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Hegan Bradley invited twenty four Americans and Patrick Reid wasn't
one of them. Do you think he's a little pissed?
Do you think makes him feel by the way, well,
I can tell I can tell you.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Wheel Patrick.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Ye, my twin brother has texted me and he told
me it really sucks because nobody likes me, and then
he sent a lot of angry swear words.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
So it's pretty clear why people don't like it. So
anybody have the balls to ask him about that? By
the way of the PGA media, you know that's interesting
speaking of people tell the field to know that nobody
likes you. I actually reached out.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
To his representatives years ago and I said, listen, I
look just like him.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Here's the picture.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Like, can we set up an interview and just like
straight no.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Chance of having Dan laning us studio than getting Patrick.

Speaker 2 (19:36):
There is only one way as a as a live
player for Patrick Reed to make the Ryder Cup, and
that's to win a major. He has got to win
one of these majors in order to or at least
finish top three multimately.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
So Harris English Straka lowry Red top twenty, okay, I got,
I got two more for you and then yes, sir,
Top twenty as the game to perfectly fit this track.
He's not playing great right now, but that gives us
better odds because he's playing Grady probably be about a
plus one hundred at a top twenty.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
And then finally we did in the Masters. He came
through for us the Masters. Justin Rose, who got second
in the Masters, how about this?

Speaker 1 (20:10):
He is plus three twenty at a top twenty.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Nobody believes in Justin Rose at the PGA Championship. He
has been fantastic in the PG in his career. He
has got seven top tens in this tournament. I know
he's old, but obviously he can still play. He was
second at the Masters.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
So how confident are you in the Justin Thomas top
twenty free money thing?

Speaker 2 (20:31):
About as confident as I was in the Tommy Fleetwood
that missed by one spot. I mean maybe, okay, well,
good confidence. But my favorite bets Bryson to win.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
All right? That's my favorite best umber one, Bryson. Bryson
is perfect for Quail Haul. Gotcha? Well, I will tell
you this. I'll show this to you. I mean, I
don't care if people know. It's not a big deal.
He didn't say much, but I texted as caddy. You know,
we know his caddy, Caddy, Greg Bodine. What he say?
And I asked him, I said, how are you feeling
about this week? That's what he wrote back to ten

(21:02):
out of ten and then he had the fire emoji.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Hearing that was like me after a sun put your
pants on? Right, he's excited for that?

Speaker 1 (21:14):
All right? So we got Bryson to win, which is
your number one favorite? Better last time ever? Ever? Rory
top five, Xander top ten, Justin Thomas Top twenty is
your free money play of the week, although his last
free money played didn't come through, which means we're due.
By the way, we are top twenty finishes. We got
six guys Harris, English, Stepstraka, Shane Larry Patrick, read Min
Wu Lee, and Justin Rose all to finish in the

(21:35):
top twenty. That's ten bets, by the way down, that
you can all make at the Emerald Queen Casino Sports Book. Okay,
so we'll keep track of this and we'll see how
you do. All right, did pretty good at the Masters,
made a couple of bucks bucks. Yeah, we were Dixon
and Aubrey can still go to college after the Masters.
So one of these days we're going to do a

(21:56):
parlay on all of these things happening, by the way,
and well, the cool thing that I like about it
is that you only gave us one guy to win
the whole thing, Yes, and that's Bryson. So you could
do a parlay on all these bets, every single one.
A ten team parlay on Bryson to win. Rory top five,
Xander top ten and then Justin Thomas, Harris Singles, stepstraw A,
Shane Larry Patrick, Reid, Jackson's brother, Min Wooley and Justin Rose.

(22:17):
That pays like a zillion dollars? Right if that, if
that parlay comes through, guess what, I'm not gonna be
here on Monday, all right, not gonna be on Monday. Dollar.
What's the minimum you can put it on a parlay?
You can give ten bucks? Yeah, ten bucks? As far
as the bet you're talking about, like that bet right there?
I believe most sports books is ten dollars. Yes, yes,

(22:37):
how about that parlay is like one thousand to one?

Speaker 3 (22:41):
You guys, you guys, don't you guys know that I
don't like sports game. I don't sports gamble much at all.
You like sports period soccer. But to back you, Dick,
and to win a zillion dollars, let just do that?

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Love it? How about we do it for the show, right,
Like when there's a big lottery the advice tickets and
they get together they have fun. So I'll see if
I can run numbers on that. Okay. So those are
Dick's picks for the PGA Championship, all brought to you
by our friends at the Pacific Northwest Golf Academy, Gamble
Sands Boeing Classic. In Tito's handmade vodka. All right, So
Mariners Yankees last night. JP Crawford, by the way, dude,

(23:14):
the injury bug just keeps freaking smacking these guys in
the face. So let me let me just go down
the list and see if I have it all right now,
if I'm missing somebody at the top of my head,
please correct me. Victor Robless, Ryan Bless, Luke Raley was
doing more banged up at one point this year. Polanco
was banged up, but he kind of played through it
a little bit. Three starters and then Brash was obviously late,

(23:36):
and then Santos. Yet they're still in first place. So
I guess there's two ways to look at this. Either A,
this is a rickety ship, all right. We think it
was built to with stand hitting an iceberg, but it's
about to hit the iceberg and it's about to go
down to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. Or b No,
this shows you that this team can withstand a massive

(23:58):
injury bug. Now, JP Crawford scratch today, by the way,
and Bryce Miller's on the il. This team could survive
a massive injury bug and still find a way to
pull themselves out of it. And that's pretty impressive. Where
do we are we glass half full or glass half
mpiter mostly glass half full.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Just because I believe in in Dan and Edgar, I
believe in the system. I see a complete difference in
how these guys approached there at bats versus how they
approached it on the under the prior regime. And under
the prior regime you kind of had to rely on
your big bats to carry you through. And this stretches
out the lineup. Even though you don't have a lot

(24:32):
of talent. At seven eight nine, they're still doing their jobs,
They're still moving. Donovan Solona was a perfect example last night.
I remember Donovan Solano's a bat. He stinks, he stinks,
but you remember remember his bat he had, he had
bases loaded and he didn't get anybody in. But I
was I was sitting there watching the game. I was like,
he's going to get a high five even if he
gets out here.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
He took he.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
Took weaver to like ten pitches, eleven pitches, kept battling, battling, battling.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Last year, he's out now.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
He didn't play for the marriage last year, But last
year that at bat would have gone four pitches. It
would have been a strikeout or a dead pull the
right field for an out. I just like how these
guys approached there at bats. Well, here's the thing. So
the Mariners are on pace for about eighty more walks
than they were a year ago, six fifty five to
five seventy one. So you're getting an extra walk every
couple of games, which is the difference. The stolen bases

(25:21):
are up a little bit from last year. They were again,
they were still pretty good in that category. Because I've
heard you say a couple of times. It's different from
last year. They were fourth in baseball than walks. Last
year the Mariners were, and they were ninth in stolen bases,
so they weren't awful, but their first this year. Now
they are fourth in walks. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
They are now blah blah. They are my fault, my fault.
They are third and walks right now. Yankees and the
Diamondbacks strikeout, but they're third by five. They're down by five.
Strikeouts are way down versus last year. Strikeouts that were
down about maybe like one a game when it's all
said and done, So yes, I mean they are making strikes.
It feels like they had a plan in place, and

(26:03):
they tried to do it and they just either didn't
have the personnel or they just couldn't pull it off
because the message wasn't getting home. And now maybe the
message is getting home. I still think that the Poto
was kind of like behind the curtain. He's the one
pulling the levers. He wants a certain type of team
that will do certain types of things like this baseball
team is doing right now. But here's what drives me
freaking nuts about this Bisa Dick. We can sit here

(26:27):
and say, hey, this is great, impressive. You've lost three
fifty year rotation, but you're still in first place. It's
amazing that they're twenty are think twenty three and seventeen
or twenty four and eighteen. What the hell's their record
right now? I think they're twenty three and eighteen. They're
twenty three and eighteen. Amazing that they're twenty three and eighteen.
That's forty nine games with the injuries.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
Right.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
That's great, but it also irritates the crap out of
me because it reminds you how rare what they did
last year was, and they didn't take advantage of it
when everybody was healthy and they had the number one
ere in the American League. It pisses me off, but
what and it's going to piss me off for a
long time.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Should But what's good news is that none of these
guys are out for a long period of time. And
we're about to knock on wood. See a stretch where
it goes Kirby Miller, whoo, you know it just Castillo,
It just it turns over and we and then we
hope with this offense, you should be able to have
a nice stretch of fourteen wins out of twenty one

(27:23):
or twenty two games.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
We hope they all get healthy, and we hope it's
very much a hope right now. Like listen, like you
guys know, two weeks ago, I jumped on the bandwagon.
I don't want to be the person bad mouthing the
team that bandwagon. I just jumped and you jumped on
they've sucked by the way. Really, that's the funny thing.
It's just kind of been like a why did I
jump on? No? But really, I mean there's reasons for optimism,
but I think we all can all agree that there

(27:44):
does need to be a move made.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
By the end of July. We're gonna break a little
fun with audio slash Hay, did you hear that? Mariners
Yankees recap Coming, Petro's Coming? All next on ninety three
three kJ arfm it's now time for and Diggs with audio.
Jimmy g pauncht Jimmy mister garoppolo. Now let's have some

(28:06):
fun with audio. All right, we are back on a
busy Wednesday right here. On ninety three three kjarfam, it's
time for that segment that at least i'd say seven
people have been waiting for nine. I know six of
them personally, you think it's nine total? Nine? Now, all right,
my kids listen. That's fine as long as they're well,
they're not in our demo, though, as soon as one
of them turns twenty five, let me know, I'm counting

(28:27):
twenty five to fifty four year old men. That's who
we care about. You fall outside the demo, you can
kiss off. We don't care about you if you're not
an excommunicated my wife, sorry pal, you know, get her
a diary or or of transition to a fifty two
year old man? What do you want from me? All right,
that's enough goofing around. How about a little fun with

(28:48):
audio slash, Hey did you hear that? Addict? Did you
happen to hear that? What's that dick? All right? Last night,
JP Crawford eleven Jay winning RBI single day Sims on
the call, but for wfa N in New York and
the Yankee Radio Network.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
J Pete Grufford has not put the ball and play
the last three times.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
They need another strikeout here. First pitch left, the un left,
the slicing.

Speaker 5 (29:13):
Drive down the leftfield line, fair ball.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Game over.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
Japete puts it in play for only the second time
tonight and Seattle wins this game to to one and eleven.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
And that was another case.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
Where Jess put the ball in play, took a slicing drive,
kept it fair bye about a foot or so, and J. P.
Crafford wins this game two to one. So this series
tied at one, and let's see who wins the series
tomorrow afternoon.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
It's not like, just for a second he was kind
of morphing into Dave Simms Mariner guy, and JP wins.
Then for the Yankees.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
I figured we get an old brother, but we certainly
didn't get a hay now, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Was that weird to you to hear that it was weird. Yeah,
he was here for fifteen years, ten years? How long
was he here for? At least a decade minimum at least, right,
if not longer than that? That was kind of odd.
Like I remember the first time I ever heard collabro
do like a national radio game for ESPN. I'm like,
that doesn't at all, So come on, man.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
Man, if you know, if I was a good if
I was a good producer, I would have gotten a
JP Crawford walk off of the mirrors of Dave Sims
calling it for the mirrors and compare the two.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
But I'm not, you know what, I'm not so Andrews
where I got it done? He would have tell you that.
All right, Hey, Dick, did you happen to hear that?
What's that? Dick? Yesterday? During Get Up ESPN, NBA analyst
Jay Williams and Alan Hahn had this back and forth
about what the Mavericks should do with the number one
overall pick.

Speaker 6 (30:42):
Now, I know it's gonna be controversial, but if I'm
Nicol Harrison, I'm trading the pick.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Like, look, there's something I just got back in a
good ground.

Speaker 6 (30:51):
I hear you for a guy like Cooper Flagg, I
think he needs reps. I think he needs a lot
of room to grow. But when I look at the value,
could you potentially package some like this to get a Giannis?
If your championship window was in two to three years,
could you utilize that pick and some assets to get
somebody who's ready to contribute to you? Right now with
the pressure in the West Coast, you drinking?

Speaker 4 (31:10):
What do you?

Speaker 6 (31:11):
What do you got here?

Speaker 1 (31:12):
What are you drinking this morning? Are you like you
want them to burn the building down? They this is
this is a gift from the basketball gods.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Can you imagine if he traded Cooper after it?

Speaker 1 (31:25):
No? Nope, nope, nope, he'd be well, he'd be you know,
like shot like in the knee right or the foot
like remember when Joe Peshi, uh shot Spider to a
foot and Goodfellas remember that, right, Michael Imperioli. That's what
would happen. It might be worse than that. First he
shoot him a foot and then when Cooper flag goes

(31:46):
on to win like five MP's, then he's just done
forget about it. No you can't, I mean you can't.
You gotta draft him and if he ends up being
a bust, which he won't be. But if he is
a bust, nobody can blame you for drafting Cooper Flag.
You have to take him. Even if you get visited
by somebody who tells you in your sleep that Cooper
Flag will be a bust, you still have to draft him.

(32:08):
Can't do it.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
I think an argument can be made that Cooper Flag
is the second most untradable commodity in the NBA, next
to Wimby, right, just because of their age and their potential.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Right, I'd rather have him than Yannis.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Absolutely, Really, Yannis is thirty. Why wouldn't I rather have
a nineteen year old Cooper Flagg than a thirty year
old Yanna.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
I hope he does it. I hope he trades him,
just for the freak show that would ensue coming out
of dollars. Are you kidding me? He did?

Speaker 2 (32:33):
What?

Speaker 1 (32:34):
I feel like the guy in the owner in Draft
a son it you son of a bitch? Just let
me finish the draft. No, you just traded Cooper Flag,
you stupid idiot. Oh my god. All right, hey, Dick,
did you happen to hear that? What's that? Dick? Charles
Barkley joining Dan Dakich's Don't At Me podcast this week.
Have you heard this, by the way, No, and said
that Lebron James. Well, you know what, let me say

(32:57):
this is where Charles Barkley ranks Lebron on his all
time goat list.

Speaker 7 (33:02):
Go ahead, I've always said Lebron on my list, he's
number seven all time. I got Will Kareem, Bill, Russell,
Michael and Oscar I got Kobe six and Lebron seven.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Okay, so he's got Lebron James is his seventh best
player of all time. Now, wait before you lose your mind,
all right, before the president of the Lebron fan club
just starts, you know, going bananas here, if we are
going to define the greatest player of all time as
how they performed as a basketball player at the peak
of their career, not the accomplishments and all that stuff,

(33:38):
right like the Bo Jackson Alexander argument we always have.
Is there anything to what Barkley said that Will Kareem, Kobe,
all the guys he mentioned at the peak of their
career may have been better basketball players than Lebron was
at his peak.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
Every name I could live with, accept Kobe there is
nothing about Kobe Bryant. And I love and respect Kobe Bryant.
He is a top ten twelve player in NBA history.
But there is nothing about Kobe Bryant. Okay, that is
better than Lebron.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Jay even during his peak, his all time greatest stretch
year two years, I mean six months, five minutes, never
saying Lebron James's peak was delivery. No, I mean, I
think what That's not what I'm saying. You know what
I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Here's what Here's what gets this whole peak conversation. Were
talking about Jordan with the peak and Lebron with the peak. Lebron,
this is another instance where Lebron actually gets denigrated because
his peak was so long.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
Okay, I'm just asking you, Dick, And if you're saying no,
I mean, you know you just said that six five
of those six guys you could make the argument that
their peak performance was better than Lebron except for Kobe.
So Dick says, Kobe, no way, no how, but the career,
for sure, you had time for one more real quick No, okay,
we'll get a break maners Yankees wrapping up Petro's coming up.

(35:13):
