Speaker 1 (00:00):
The twenty twenty five Seattle Seahawks slash National Football League
schedule has been released. Can you feel it? Can you
feel it?
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Now?
Speaker 1 (00:09):
There we go. Let's run it down for everybody paying attention.
Week one, as reported by me Greg, Seahawks will open
up at home against the San Francisco forty nine Ers
on the seventh of September. We'll get to the relevance
of that, by the way, in a couple of seconds.
They then traveled to Pittsburgh to take on DK Metcalf
in week number two. Then the New Orleans Saints will
(00:31):
either Spencer Ratler or Tyler Shuck Kevin Moore's their brand
new head coach coming to town on September twenty first,
that's today after the Apple Cup. By the way, Week four,
Hawks will go to Arizona on Thursday Night football. Then
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield or here in
week number five. Then the Seahawks will born a jet
plane and travel to Jacksonville, Florida and take on Trevor
(00:53):
Lawrence and the Jaguars and Liam Cohen, their brand new
head coach on the twelfth of October. Then the Hawks
come home and they will have their only Monday night
game of the year against the Houston Texans on the
twentieth of October. The bye will follow that in week eight,
so pretty good time for the biet it right from middle.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Also after a Monday night that's right, and then they're
at the Commanders on Sunday Night Football. As of now,
they're all the appearance on Sunday Night Football, but it's
on November the second. Arizona will come here week ten
the following week, and then it's at the Rams in
week eleven, November sixteenth, at the Titans November twenty third,
and week twelve, so back to back road games right there,
(01:33):
Minnesota and JJ McCarthy and Paul Allen will be here
to take on the Seahawks. Feels like Minnesota's here every
year right week thirteen, November thirtieth at Atlanta and Michael
Pennix on December seventh, Week fourteen, So for those Husky
fans and football fans, we're going to go down there
and watch that game. Make your plans now. The Colts
will be here week fifteen, December the fourteenth, the Rams
(01:55):
on Thursday Night in Seattle on December the eighteenth, and
week sixteenth. The Hawks will then wrap up the year
and travel to Carolina and San Francisco in the final
two weeks of the regular season. By the way, the
days and kickoff times for the Panther game and the
Niner game right now are both tbds. Okay, they're both
(02:16):
tbds by the Hawks. We don't know Saturday Sunday. We
don't know what time yet for those final games, but
they're and all that's glory is the Seahawks twenty twenty
five schedule just announced now officially by the NFL. Love
the bly week. Like you mentioned in the middle of
the season.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
Nobody wants it in Week thirteen, you know, after they
played twelve minine. Nobody wants it in Week four. We've
had it in Week four before and that stinks because
you're playing three months in a row without a bye week.
And another thing that jumps out is just there's no
brutal stretch like we've had each of the last two years.
There's no stretch where you're like going, you know, Philadelphia
and then Pittsburgh and then the Rams and you know, and.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Then the Kansas City Chiefs or anything.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
The tough games are kind of spread out sprinkled out
throughout the schedule, So I like that.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah, I'm looking at the back to back road games
and there's only one opportunity for actually two. Sorry, there's
Week eleven and Week twelve against the Rams and Titans,
and then Week seventeen and Week eighteen against Carolina and
San Francisco. But you know, look, I mean I think
that again, the NFL kind of did them a little
bit of a favor where some of these longer road
(03:22):
trips they've gotten, they've got really three of them. They're
going all the way to Washington, they're going all the
way to Atlanta, going all the way to Carolina, and
they're going to Jacksonville. The Jacksonville road trip comes off
a home game the week before, so no back to
back there. The Washington road trip comes off a bye, right.
The Tennessee road trip does come off a road game,
(03:44):
but it's a road game on the West Coast, and
the game at Carolina comes off a home game against
the Rams. So the schedule looks pretty manageable. And again
we talked about this earlier, just like last year's schedule
when you mentioned the quarterbacks they would face in the
first three games of the regular season. We don't even
know who they're playing yet. Guys in Week two, in
Week three? Right, I mean, is it gonna be Aaron Rodgers?
(04:05):
Is it gonna be Mason Rudolph, Will it be Tyler Schuck?
Will it be Spencer Rattler? You got a situation with
some pretty manageable quarterbacks on this schedule. Yeah, you're getting
Michael Pennix later in the year versus earlier. Yeah you're
getting cam Ward. Yeah you're getting JJ McCarthy later in
the year versus earlier. But those are either A rookies
or B guys that barely played or did not play
(04:28):
at all last season.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Well here's what they think of the New Orleans Saints.
So what the NFL thinks. You know how many nationally
televised games New Orleans Saints have? That would be zero
because teams don't have to have Thursday night games anymore.
So you've got the New Orleans Saints, as I believe,
if I'm scanning this the whole schedule, I believe, the
only team in the NFL without any national television game.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
So they've only got, if I'm right about this, Niners,
Pittsburgh Saints, Arizona Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Texans, Washington. So the
first nine weeks of the regular season, they only play
two division games, right, is that right? They got Arizona
West Arizona and they got San Francisco, Right, So the
other four are in the final eight weeks of the
(05:10):
regular season.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Well, you also have five road games in your last
eight games, so it's gonna be road heavy at the end.
And by the way, there is one other team that
doesn't have any national TV games also, a team you
play in the Tennessee Titans. See, gosh, we've got if
you just look at the over under win total. I know,
the Mariners. The Seahawks are low at seven point five. Yeah,
they're playing a lot of teams with lower win totals
(05:31):
than the Seahawks have, that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
I mean I like the schedule. I think it's very manageable, right,
I mean, like we said, it's not going to look
this way in the middle of October and November, when
I mean, who knows, Like maybe cam Ward is just
a star like Jaden Daniels was, and the Titans just
are amazing and a ballbuster down there, you know, who
knows what Michael Pennox is going to do. Who knows
a damn thing about what JJ McCarthy's going to do.
But the Niner game opening up is pretty unique because
(05:56):
it's just the fourth time the Hawks have hosted a
division opponent, according to my Buddy Hawk blogger to start
the year since they moved to the NFC West. I mean,
you would think that, hey, opening up either on the
road or at home against a division opponent, you play
six games in your division, that's a pretty good chance
that'll happen. Just the third time or the fourth time
(06:18):
it's happened, And two of those times have happened in
the last three seasons. Played the Rams in twenty twenty three,
and then you got to go back to twenty ten
and two thousand and nine. So this is just the
second time in the last what fifteen years that they've
opened up against a divisional opponent.
Speaker 4 (06:35):
Dick, and I'm just I feel a lot better about
this schedule than I have the last couple of years.
And maybe it's just because I'm optimistic about the team
and I think we're more established now that you had
a lot of questions going into last season.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
There's no question about that.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
But I just feel like the way it's set up,
we're going to do the coming up in the next segment,
we're going to do the win loss, and I think
I might end up with a higher win loss total
than we originally did when the scaled came out the
first time, when we didn't even know when the games.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Were Yeah, no question, I mean I think this is
this is another reminder to me of what the hell
Vegas is doing with the seven and a half game
over underthing, because I don't the Seahawks only winning seven
of these games on paper, with how their defense finished
the year last year and all the moves they've made
to make this football team better. I gotta tell you, guys,
(07:25):
if they win seven games this year, the drum beat
to get rid of John Schneider is going to be
painfully loud at the end of the season.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
I know we're gonna break here in a moment, but
before we do so, you know how every team has
special releases for how they do their schedulings. The famous
one from the Tennessee Titans a.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Couple of years ago. Chargers are usually awesome, Yeah, the Tennessee.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
I was out on the street in Nashville asking people,
what team plays in what city, and it was a
great video. So the Seahawks just came out with one
that might be their best ever and actually works for radio. Okay, basically,
I don't know they was this existed in the nineties.
I'm sure existed bout how long minute already cooked, very impatient,
(08:05):
stop it and just be patient and breathed. Breathe softy, Dick,
I'll talk to you.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Thank you. So you know how, at.
Speaker 5 (08:12):
Least for me in the nineties, I'm sure for you
in the seventies and eighties, growing up, you see like
watching TV shows on Saturdays, commercials for action figures and
the the the various marketing tactics they used for action figures.
So what we have here is the Seahawks schedule these
video with Devin Witherspoon as an action figure and they
went full you know, Saturday morning advertisement for action figures.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Here pop starspoon is back and he's making noise.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Guess yea, I know how he's under a text in
Minnesota Viking the Taipa Bay Buccaneer and the Arizona Carden
is spoon cooked. No it's locks legend. Steve Large and
head for the fiftieth. We're bringing you in all pro
squodifacts and packed legend tess rexlip t Powertail and super
sized big wal Joe.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Now that sketchy cat from the Jags is litterally on
the field, Well do no litter. Right over here, we
have put on trains and.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
A buck go.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
It's the Falcons, Saints Panther col Sixon's Commander Steeler and
the mighty Tennessee Titan. But they're not made for bavan
Jam's vambad Van. And who's riding along it's Marshaw.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Can you help me? He says, you're just a baby
stiff arm. Oh that's gonna get him a fine, fine
money out.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Include the Hawks can get some super charge rn R
with a feature loaded mobile command HQ place at including
a Bavarian karaoke loud and a fully functioning bathroom from
the Kingdome featuring powdered Sulean smoothie bar with seventeen different
protein options and Chad the smoothie Barista.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
I'm Chad, how much protein are we looking to in
chest today? Oh? What powders?
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Oh no, it's the La Lambs, Witherspoon Jumps of Action
And now he started his trash Talk volume up to twelve.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Whoa the fully functional Kingdom bathroom includes a trough. That
would be fantastic. The picture it actually shows a truck.
I love it all. That's awesome. That's good stuff, man,
I like it have some fun social act. I just
saw our buddy Matt Deerry, who covers the Lions in Detroit.
(10:08):
Can I give you the Lions first three seven games
of the year? You tell me if this is a
mother all right? At the Packers, Bears, Baltimore Browns, Bengals,
Kansas City, Tampa Bay GEZ. That is a unbelievable start.
I mean the Lions, Holy they go in there by way.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
I mean three and four is absolutely after.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
So if you're wondering about kind of the end of
the year, the Hawks will wrap it up with Carolina
and San Francisco, The Niners wrap it up with Chicago
and the Seahawks. Obviously, the Rams wrap it up at
Atlanta and Arizona. And Arizona has Cincinnati in the Rams.
So I mean, if it's tight at the end of
the year, I like our chances. I like our chances.
(10:58):
San Francisco has got the Bears, the Rams have Atlanta
and the Cardinals have the Bengals and the Seahawks get
Carolina out of division. Let's do this. We're gonna break.
We'll revisit our predictions from last year and then go
game by game and tell you what will be about
to happen in twenty twenty five with the Seahawks next
on ninety three three KJRFM.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
PAD casting live from the R and R Foundation Specialist
broadcast Studio. Now back to SOFTI and DIG powered by
Emerald Queen, Casino, the vetting capital of the Northwest, on
Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
All right, we're back on a busy Wednesday. Seahawks schedule
has been officially released, just real quick for those getting
in the car Week one Niners at home, Week two
at Pittsburgh, Week three, Saints here, Week four, Cardinals there
on Thursday. Week five, Tampa here, Week six, Jacksonville there.
Week seven, Monday Night Football. That's October twentieth against the Texans.
(11:59):
By the way, the UW Michigan game is the Saturday
before that, So go to the game, fly home Sunday,
go to the Hawks. Works out good. Week eight is
the bye. Week nine at the Commanders on Sunday Night
football on November two. Week ten, the Cardinals are here.
Week eleven, the Hawks are at the Rams. Week twelve,
the Hawks travel to Nashville take on cam Ward the Titans.
(12:19):
November twenty third, Week thirteen, Minnesota, for the fifth time
in seven seasons, is coming to Seattle. They're the new Carolina,
Remember they played them every year for a while. Week
fourteen at Michael Pennix. December seventh in Atlanta. Week fifteen,
Cults are here. Week sixteen, Rams Thursday night in Seattle.
(12:40):
That's December eighteenth, and then Week seventeen eighteen a couple
of tbds on dates and times. Saturday or Sunday at
Carolina and at San Francisco. So four primetime games as
of right now. Arizona on Thursday Night down there, Commanders
on Sunday over there, and the Texans on Monday night here,
(13:00):
and the Rams on Thursday Night here. The preseason games
have also been announced by the Way no dates time
so far, but Raiders, Kansas City, Green Bay are on
the Seahawks preseason schedule. The Thanksgiving Day schedule has also
been announced. Green Bay at the Lions, Kansas City at
Dallas and the Bengals at the Ravens. Three pretty good
games on Turkey Day, which the Hawks have not played him,
(13:22):
by the way, since twenty twenty three, when they got
beat by the forty nine ers. So before we go
game by game and give you our predictions, it's an
annual tradition here on the radio show when we remember
to do it and we actually record it, go back
and listen to how our predictions on schedule release day.
Remember the Hawks went ten and seven, missed the playoffs.
(13:44):
Here is what our predictions on schedule release day sounded
like last year. All right, So Jackson's got them losing
one two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine games.
Do I have that right?
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Nine?
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Nine? You have him going eight to nine. Dick has
him going one two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
nine and eight. That sounds about And I have him
going one, two, three, four, five, six, eleven and six.
I say five and oh at eleven and six and
they still won't win the West. Watch the ten games
(14:20):
and they won ten. Okay, you've cheated? How about that?
I mean you you want to just toss in more
opinions while you're at it, by the way, and just
grab more possibilities. You go out the air, you say
they win eight games. Then you said we'll watch them
win ten. No, no, no, not just say watch them Elevenick.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
I don't think you know. I don't think you heard what.
So basically I picked eight, Dick picked nine.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
You picked up. So I said watch the whole but
he said ten. That's that was why I said that. Well,
Dick was off by a game. I was off by
a game. You were off by two games. So you lose?
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Do I get partial Do I get partial credit that
they would have lost the last game of season if
it wasn't a jav I get.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Partial credit for saying watch them win? Do I get
partial credit because I said they won't win the West?
I mean, what are we doing to? But we just
kiss each other's asses? Hell man? All right, so nobody
nailed it. Nobody nailed from last year. All right, Well,
let me get a piece of paper. Was this horse
shoes and hand grenades? Though we were close enough, each
blew a hand off? Is what it exactly. Let's go
(15:16):
game by game? All right, let's go with I'm gonna
do three different little things here, Dick, Dave Dixon, whatever,
little Snake draft here, Dick, Why did you go first
Niners home Week one? Oh, brock Pertty comes in and
gets smoked. Alright, that's a win for the Hawks. I'm
gonna agree with you. That's a win for the Hawks. Jackson,
give me a big win, all right, Jackson, you go
(15:36):
a Week two at Pittsburgh win. Uh. Who's the quarterback?
That's the thing.
Speaker 5 (15:43):
I don't even care if it's Aaron Rodgers. I think
we win that game. Aaron Rodgers is washed up. All right,
you convinced me that's a win, Dick.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
Aaron Rodgers hasn't alienated everyone in Pittsburgh yet.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Call they win. It's a good call, Dick says, a
loss for the Hawks, all right. Week three, Saints are here, Dick.
That's the easiest to win on the board. Okay, agreed,
win Jackson, win. Okay, both of us have him going
three and oh. Yes, you know that they don't go
four and oh very often. Believe it's happened twice in
their franchise history. Tampa Bay. Excuse me, Cardinals Thursday Night Football,
(16:19):
Week four. Jackson's that it's not happening. It's a loss.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
I just don't think Arizona's very good and we usually
have pretty good success.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
It's my turn. I'm going to hang on this. So
you pause because I'm thinking, Did I not think about stuff?
All right? Jeez? Hell many were being impatient. Well here's
the thing, though, I think the Cardinals are going to
be better than they were a year ago. And I
don't think the Hawks are going four oh, so I
(16:47):
hate to agree with Jackson. This is getting boring. I
think it's a loss.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Well, we're all we've all got him going three and
one then, because I think they'll win that game, all right?
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Uh, Tampa Bay at home Week five, Dick.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
They always throw a game at home that they should win.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
This is the one. Remember the twenty thirteen Tampa Bay game.
They're done twenty one to nothing and they won an overtime.
People boot him off the field at halftime. You think
they're gonna lose that game? Lose that game? That's Baker Mayfield?
All right? Uh, what's the situation with their wide receivers?
Godwin has the Mike Evans is still there?
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Isn't somebody like banged up? Yeah? Godwin, Godwin mc millan.
They also drafted I believe the drafted Buka. Correct. That's
a good, very good correct. Yeah, oh man, I just
got that. That's that's got a thirteen to ten written
all over throw in that game, IV, I think Hawks
are gonna win that game. Screw it. They beat Tampa Jackson.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
I think it's a loss, but I think it's a
higher scoring loss. I like the Bucks offense. All right, so, uh,
you got him going three and two. I got him
going four and one. Dick has him three and two. Money, No,
go to Jacksonville at Jacksonville Jackson.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
I'm gonna say it's a loss. Travis Hunter goes off
for one hundred and fifty yards. Well, I got to
think that at some point Trevor Lawrence is going to pop. Yeah.
Liam Cohen as big a goober as he looks, is
I think a pretty good mind. And you're going three
thousand miles away, man, I think it's a loss. Go ahead.
After losing to Tampa Bay, they're pissed. Yep.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
They get on that plane and there's more Hawk fans
there than there are Jaguar like.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
That, and they win. All right, Monday Night football against
the Texans the following week, Dick, they win, Okay, they
win at home. I think they win as well. After
losing to Jacksonville the week before, Jackson, Yeah, make it
three for three. Bye. Then at the Commanders on Sunday night,
maybe the toughest game on the slate. That's a loss. Okay,
(18:40):
it was Jackson's turnament. Oh sorry, big old loss for me. Okay,
I'm going to say a loss as well. All three loss?
All right. Dick is up next Arizona here in Seattle.
They win. I just don't think Arizona's very good. I
think they're like a seven win team. I think that
they will eventually kick a game. They always do. They
always it's going to be Tampa. I think it'll be.
This came right here at Arizona. They lose it, Jackson
(19:02):
go ahead. I had them losing at Arizona, So I
think they'll win the home game, all right. How about
at the Rams the following week Jackson loss. Okay, coming
off of a win against Arizona, I think this is
a loss. I don't see them losing three in a row.
They get it done at the Rams, Dick House of horrors, okay.
Sean McVay loss, all right. At the Titans cam Ward,
(19:24):
Yeah win, that's a win. That's a long time. Ladies
and gentlemen were I gotta be honest with you. For
half a second, I forgot what we were doing. I
(19:48):
tell you, wine out of my mouth. So it's a
big win. Can't can't have a rookie beat here? All right?
Three wins across the board Minnesota here Jackson loss loss.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
Wow, this this is for me, the one that you
shouldn't lose, in the stupid one that we'll be looking
back at.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Let me explain something to you. JJ McCarthy beats Sam Donald. Yep,
we got a problem. It's gonna happened. Hawks win, Dick.
Sam Donald goes for three hundred and three. Yeah, baby,
love sticks it right up their tail, shoves it. We
can say, as that's fine, Sam Donald, gonna have plenty
of time. Sam Donald, what destroys at Atlanta? Michael Pennix,
(20:28):
Go Dick, you're a tough one. But they win. Okay.
I think this is one of those games where they're
riding a three game winning streak, they're traveling to Atlanta.
They're a little dinged up at that point. The Hawks are,
They've been hanging on by a thread. They lose their game.
Jackson sorry, Michael Pennix. This is the start of my
(20:50):
big streak. Big win here the lant alright, Indy and
Seattle Jackson win. Win for me too, Dick, that's a win.
What game is that? By the way, that game Nonumber fourteen? Yeah,
game number fifteen game Colts might be three and they
could they could win for Dick, right, yeah, Rams Thursday
night here to me. Yep, I've got him on a
(21:13):
four game win streak right now.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
That place is gonna be hopped up and they're gonna
throw it.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
You got him lose MS. I got him losing. That
means they get swept by the Rams. Not not good
for the old tiebreakers, which they lost a year ago.
You know that.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
I fear Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay until they prove
to me that they can get over the Rams.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Then well I got him. I got him winning in
LA and they're gonna sweep him. I think it's gonna
be rained, right, it's gonna be windy, it's gonna be
horrible weather. Cooper Cup will be hurt and he won't
play in the game, but the Hawks win anyway. Jackson
Eyings is the seahawks third straight win. Okay.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
They are then at Carolina, another long road trip. Who
knows Bryce Young is going to be all about? I
think this is the seahawks fourth straight win.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
Okay, God, I got him winning at Tennessee. I'm at Atlanta.
Am I gonna go at Carolina?
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Turn? I just don't. I don't know who's first. It's
a snake. I've been in the middle every pick, every
pick we've made, I've been in the middle. I think
they lose that game? Did go ahead? I think they win? Okay?
How confident though? Were you not that? Yeah? Sorry? San
Francisco to end the year on the road. Now, before
we do this last one, Jackson has them after sixteen
(22:34):
games with only five losses. They are ten and they
are eleven and five. They are eleven and five. Oh,
you have him losing five I'm sorry, six games. They
are ten and six. I have them with one, two, three, four,
five six losses to that point. Dick has them with one, two, three,
(22:56):
four five losses. Okay, to that point, A right, Jackson?
Do they win the Carolina game to go eleven and
six or did they drop the Carolina game to go
ten and seven, giving them the exact same record they
had a year ago.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
So I looked at the forty nine ers schedule and
the Niners. Yeah, and I have the forty nine Ers
at this point at eleven and five, I think. I
think this game is for playoff seedings flexed, and I
think this will be.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
A massive, massive final game on the road. I think
it's a loss and the forty nine Ers with the.
Speaker 5 (23:30):
Win, win the division at their house, and the Seahawks
end up as the final seed in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
I gotta think they're going to improve on last year's record.
I just got to have to improve on last year's record,
don't they. Are you talking about the Seahawks? But to
your point, the tenth win is kind of last year
the Ram game. Yes, all right, I think they lose
the Niner game and they go ten and seven, But
(23:57):
it's a different ten and seven versus last year. Okay, Dick,
you're up.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
This is not a twelve and five football team, so
I cannot have them winning this this last game. I
don't necessarily think it's an eleven and six talent team,
but I.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Don't believe they can go twelve and seven, Is that right?
Twelve and five?
Speaker 4 (24:15):
Twelve and five sorry, but with this schedule, I think
they could squeeze.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
Eleven out of this schedule.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
But I'm having a loss to San Francisco and an
eleven and six record. But if you had to pin
me down, am I closer to the ten and a
half or eleven and a half?
Speaker 1 (24:31):
I'm definitely closer to ten and a half than I
am eleven. Okay, So Jackson's got him going ten and seven. Yep,
I have him going ten and seven. You have him
going eleven and six, which is great news for the
over seven and a half. By the way, Yeah, the
over seven and a half is gonna hit in the
fourth to last week of the year against Indianapolis. That's
my prediction. Put that in your little recording machine and
play that back next year, all right, if we're all
(24:53):
gonna be here now, hit.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
For the Hawks early last year too, Ten for the
Hawks with like four weeks left last year, ten and seven,
ten and six, and eleven and six if they make
the playoffs, if they don't win the division.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
First of all, how much should we expect them to
win the division versus make the playoffs? Like, is this
a football team that has made enough adjustments to their
roster over the offseason where we say, Okay, they're there.
They're the best team on paper in the division. I
don't know if they are the best team in the division,
but I feel like they should be a playoff team
after losing the tiebreaker and having the best record ever
(25:28):
in this current format to never make the playoffs. Not
making the playoffs again, I don't care. If your record
is ten and seven would be unacceptable, right it is.
Speaker 5 (25:37):
But at the same time, I think you look at
the rest of the division. I mean, the Niners are
going to improve from where they were, Arizona should probably
improve from.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Where they were.
Speaker 5 (25:47):
I mean, Harrison Junior has got to be better than
he was in a rookie year. And the big question
for me.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Is the Rams, Like who are the Los Angeles Rams
right now? I honestly have no idea.
Speaker 4 (25:59):
So if you don't win the division, of Sophy's question
is if you're the you're the wild card. So let's
just let's just say, for bleeps and giggles, the Rams
win the division, all right. There's really only one spot
left over because one of the NFC South teams has
to make the playoffs, So that's two, don't we think
Detroit's going to the playoffs?
Speaker 1 (26:18):
I think so, but they're scheduling are But they're a
really good football team, right.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
Don't we think Green Bay is going to the playoffs?
Don't we think Washington's going to the playoffs? And don't
we think Philadelphia is going to play?
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Well, somebody's gonna fall off that you're not talking about,
and somebody will come up, Like the Bears should be
better than the ago, right, A lot of teams should
be better th they were a year ago. I mean,
what was Arizona's record last year? Were they have six
and eleven football team? What was the Cardinals record last year?
I think the Cardinals will be a better football team
than they were a year ago. I think this is
going to be almost a four team race for the
division championship. About that. Don't you think they're kind of
(26:50):
eight and nine? Again? Why are the Cardinals better? I
think it's a fort because I think Kyler Murray is
going to be a better player. I honestly thought they
were a six win team last year. Well, I thought
the Rams were going to be terrible the year ago,
and that was and they won the M Division. I
think it's going to be a bitch. I think by
the start of December, I think every team in this
division will find will be able to look at some
(27:10):
path where they could either make the playoffs or win
the division. I think the NFC West is going to
be a mother chicken, dude, hardcore forty nine ers.
Speaker 4 (27:18):
I didn't realize this. They lost seven of their last
eight games last year. They were so hurt. I mean,
they were so mad. And that's why I think they'll
be in line to win the division this year because
they were just so massively hurt. And still they haven't
given Brock that contract, and as long as he's still
on that deal, they can pay other spots and have
the other weapons.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
Well, let's say, let's throw it out there on the
Twitter poll. By the way, I just put our official
predictions out. I had written these downs, so's it's out
there in the Twitter sphere. It's in. It's in. It's
an ink, it's in cement. It's been now made public.
Everybody will be able to mock us, make fun of us.
Point fingers, you tell us four nine, four to five
one tweet us text us your official predictions for the
(27:59):
Seahawks season for twenty twenty five again. The schedule has
been released, no major surprises from when we reported stuff
yesterday and this morning. A lot of leaks. I mean,
the entire schedule has been out for like, I'll be
honest with you, about five hours. Okay, so you know, uh,
was it you that asked me? Or was it I
don't know, rich or somebody asked? Does the NFL like
all these leaks coming out? And I said, I think
(28:20):
they love it because the entire day people are talking
about the NFL. The entire day, people are watching social
media to see what leaks they can find for their
favorite football team schedule.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
ESPN doesn't like it because their numbers have got to
be way down on their schedule lease show.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
I don't think it matters any either way. I think
millions of people just watch that thing, millions.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
Because I mean, for me, if if they don't know
the schedule, I'm watching the ESPN show.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
If I already do, then the heck with it. I
think they're bulletproof. I think the NFL loves having the
attention the entire day. They love owning the news cycle.
You know, social media was all National Football League all
freaking day long. So Mike florio by the way was
not with us today. He'll join us tomorrow at three
ten and go over the schedule. So you tell us
Jackson's got to go in ten and seven. I gotta
(29:08):
go in ten and seven, Dick has I'm going eleven
and six and not win in the division. Is that correct?
So somebody maybe they were to make a pick on
whether the playoff team you had them losing the tiebreaker
to the Rams.
Speaker 4 (29:22):
I did, But that means the Rams still have to
win eleven games really to beat the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
But we had Jackson.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
We have our first text in this comes in from
my mom, who wanted to jump on the text line.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Okay, no way we sweep the Rams. Sorry, softy, Okay,
these are fun. What was your mom's prediction? Huh? I
don't know, Gerald Dane. I'll have to get Why doesn't
Gerald Deane put her money where her mouth? Fish? Tell me,
I'm missus, big mouth. What's your prediction?
Speaker 5 (29:49):
Lady?
Speaker 1 (29:50):
All right? Four nine, four five one, you tell us,
And we'll get to a little Dan Wilson Mariners loss
to the Yankees today and kind of kind of painfully,
by the way, we'll hear from the Skipper as well,
coming up on ninety three three k JRFM. By the way,
the Mariners did lose today to the Yankees three too.
They were leading to nothing and then Paul Goldschmid with
a bomb off Gabe Spier, Aaron Judge with a bomb
(30:10):
off Carlos Vargas, and that's it. Game's over. MS lose
the series and they go one and five in the
six game home stand and one in five in this
little nine game stretch against the Padres Yankees in Toronto.
Here is Dan Wilson, Mariner skipper, talking about the lack
of offense at T Mobile Park today and for this entire homestand.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
Offensively, I thought we hit some balls hard in situations
and came up shy. But you know, obviously these are
the close ones are tough. But you know, day off
tomorrow and then you know, we start the road trip
in San Diego and and you know, turn the page
and get rolling. And you guys had kept Judge quiet
(30:52):
for pretty much the whole series up there until the
eighth inning there Just what did you see in that?
Speaker 3 (30:56):
A bad about working the one to one.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
Count and taking Yeah, you know, uh, he's a tough hitter.
There's no doubt about it. And and you know, I
commend Fargie on coming back.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
You know, after.
Speaker 6 (31:10):
Surrendering that leadoff home, right, it can be tough to
come back the rest of that inning, but you know,
continued to throw the ball really well, and you know,
you know, it's just a it's a tough break at
that point, and you know, we weren't able to get
back into that uh you know, trying to push push
up across there in the eighth and just weren't able
(31:30):
to get anything across.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
Really generally don't want to walk the lead off hitter
in that situation.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
We're just given how hot he's been is at a consideration.
Speaker 6 (31:39):
I mean, has been throwing the ball really well, and
you know he has he had a great outing yesterday
against this lineup, and and you know has been sharp.
So you know, it was unfortunate home run, obviously unfortunate,
but but I you know, commend him did a great
job coming back after it.
Speaker 7 (31:58):
It seems obvious at this point the season that you're
only going to bring Andres in in safe situations or
game close out situations. Was is there a consideration for
bringing him in earlier and in a situation like that,
when you have a hitter like Judge up with the plate.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
I mean, you know, I think.
Speaker 6 (32:16):
Everybody uses their their closer a little bit differently, and
and you know, I think, uh, situation like that. You
know it was it was Vargie's pocket, and we talked
about that, and that's that's what we were going with.
Speaker 7 (32:29):
What's the situation in JP And why was he scratched today?
Speaker 6 (32:33):
Yeah, your little shoulder tightness when he got up this
morning and uh, you know, wasn't able to get it loose.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
So he's just day to day. We'll we'll know more tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
You mentioned you hit some balls hard today right at
people and stuff that just didn't quite fall.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
But obviously in the home stand bats cooled down a
little bit.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
Is there anything specific you see with that or is
that just kind of a baseball season?
Speaker 3 (32:51):
No.
Speaker 6 (32:51):
I mean, you know, again, we had some really good
at bats last night. I thought, again, we had opportunities
today with guys on base, and and we we hit
some balls hard and you know, it didn't have a
lot to show for it. So you know, that's that's
what you're looking for. And you know, today just just
weren't able to get him to fall.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
I guess a good day to have a day off
for JP Crawford, then for tomorrow with a travel day,
but shoulder injury for JP. He was scratched before this game.
I think this is the third player that they've had
to scratch right before the game. They did it with
Luke Railey. I think they did it with Dylan Moore
as well. I may be wrong, it may it may
have been Polonko as well, but there's been at least
(33:31):
I think three players that have been scratched right before
the game, either before or right after batting practice. So
JP Crawford, who had the big game winning hit last night,
did not play in the game today and the MS lost,
and their offense by the way at home in the
last six games three three, one, five two in two
just not good enough. Man, No, it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
And while the question that I had for Dan Wilson
wasn't asked, a.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Similar question was asked.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
I would ask him about Matt Brash and instead they asked,
well once she pitch munios instead of Vargas And I
hadn't really even thought about that because Dan Wilson only
likes to use him in closing situations. The similar you know,
similar to what Scott Service.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
Did, right, right, Yeah, I mean I think Brash is
going to be on a pitch count. He just came
off the DL and had massive recon his army and
surgery for God's sake, So I have no problem not
pushing him. But I also just think that these guys
have just simply put, I don't know how much we
can expect from them with three fifths of their rotation
not available. And Bryce Miller, the good news is he
(34:31):
got a courtizone shot and his elbow. He's saying that
he should be back when the fifteen days is up
and he's good to go. So that's great news there.
It's not long term. I mean, George Kirby obviously has
been out for six weeks already, Logan Gilbert's been out
for a long time, and who knows when he's coming back.
So how much can we really rely on this baseball
team honestly to win games when sixty percent of their
(34:54):
rotation isn't playing.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
Good point However, the last two games games have not
been that issue. The last two games you had Castillo
and Wu go twelve innings and give up one run,
but then he lost.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
But Paul's Castillo and Wu. Though that's those two guys.
I'm talking about the other sixty percent of their route.
Take's right.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
But what I'm saying is like, if you're losing one
of those other games when you have a handcocker, a
Jonathan Diaz or something like that starting, I think it's
a little more a little more excusable than it is
for you to show up the last two nights and
get nothing done offensively.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Finally you got the game.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
You got some runs later on for WU, but the
offense was terrible last night while WU was cooking. They
just got the They got the offense in the eleventh,
but it took them forever.
Speaker 1 (35:42):
I'm just saying, moving moving forward, right, like moving ahead,
I mean, especially this weekend in San Diego that I
just I mean, if I told you in in February
there's going to be a stretch here where the Mariners
are not going to have three fifths of their rotation
and say, well they're done, they're cooked, forget it. Yeah,
I mean it's something we're talking about. Right. You're not
going to San Diego with Logan Evans, Emerson, Hancock and
(36:02):
who knows who's pitching Saturday. I mean, they're not gonna
have anybody against San Diego. Their offense has got a
right aft to shoot well. Their offense hit two hundred
in the last six games at T Mobile Part but
they're not there anymore. And they had right They had
the second worst batting average at home and baseball going
into today's game. So thank god they're leaving Seattle going
(36:23):
on the road where they get their second best average
on the road. Okay, that's number two number. They're number
two on the road and they're second to last at home.
They're great on the road and they suck at home.
It's just that, that's it. And now they're down sixty
percent of their rotation. All right, we're gonna break
