why we liked that team is for what they accomplished

can all talk about like our favorite non Seattle sports
team that had nothing to do with Seattle. Like, this
isn't about Oregon getting knocked out, or Gonzaga or the
Yankees or the forty nine ers. Like growing up, I
was a big Michigan fan. My parents went to Michigan.
That eighty nine Michigan team that came to Seattle, Dick

the Seahawks, where it was kind of over from the start.
We had no shot to win that game. Oregon fans
spending a bunch of money and they don't even get entertained.
They don't even get to go to halftime dreaming about
winning the game and coming back.

in the fourth quarter. So I think that that Oregon
team in twenty eleven gave me a little more angst
at the end than the twenty fourteen team did, so
I'll take Cam Newton and you know what. That game

was the thing about that Auburn Oregon was only favored
by one that was going to be a close and

up until the last second where Auburn hits the game winner.
But the Oregon Ohio State in twenty fourteen, the Ducks
were the higher seed, they were favored by six and
a half points. The Ducks were heavy favorites in that

whooped their ass.

one of these two Oregon losses. Obviously, Oh boy, this
is gonna be a tough one for hard Yeah, it
really is a tough one because the first of all,
they're only three years apart, and then number two, I
was very fearful for both of them. I do think
I would slide towards the Auburn game because that was

a really good game, if I remember correct, the Ohio
State kind of had their way right eventually with Oregon
in the fourth quarter. So I think that that Oregon
team in twenty eleven gave me a little more angst
at the end than the twenty fourteen team did, so
I'll take Cam Newton and you know what. That game
also gave us that famous photo of Darren Thomas sticking

For me, it's so easily the Ohio State win for
a lot of reasons. Wow, it's the first ever college
football playoff. If Oregon wins the first ever college football playoff,
they are hanging that over every not only our heads,
everyone's heads till the end of time. But also looking
back at this, I had to make sure that I
was correct on this the way Yeah it was. Here

was the thing about that Auburn Oregon was only favored
by one that was going to be a close and
it was a close game. It was like nineteen nineteen
up until the last second where Auburn hits the game winner.
But the Oregon Ohio State in twenty fourteen, the Ducks
were the higher seed, they were favored by six and
a half points. The Ducks were heavy favorites in that

twenty fourteen national title game, and Ohio State just freaking
whooped their ass.

Well, but how many times have you guys told me
and Dick, you said this that you would like nothing
more for our least favorite football team to have their
hearts ripped out and stopped on with a tough loss
in the fourth quarter of a football game or a
basketball guest, right, that's that's what happened to Oregon against

in the fourth quarter.

I think, panned and criticized by everybody for being a bozo.
I gotta go with the Oregon guys beating Oregon in

and then for all that hope to just be put
into flames with that just abysmal defense in that touchdown run.
It's the moment where all the Niners hopes died. Give
me the Chiefs coming back to beat the Niners.

all right? So I took Auburn and Jackson took the Niners.

there's no question about it, but satisfying. I think something
similar happened to me with Patrick Mahomes. That happened to
me with Lebron James beating with the home who. Patrick
Mahomes was coming off an MVP season the year before,

fifty touchdowns and twelve interceptions, and we were and I
just loved watching this guy play. So when you combine
the fact that it is my most hated NFL rival
with the fact that I really really like this upstart
Kansas City team, and I really really liked this quarterback.
I could give a crap about Auburn. In fact, I

didn't like I hated Cam Newton as an NFL player.
I didn't really particular like him as a college player.
I was just rooting for Auburn because I had to
root for Auburn over Oregon. So this was kind of
a double for me. A team that I really kind
of liked against the team that I hated the most.
That blew and Jackson goes back to the lead blown
and that's key. That is key in this, the fact

that every Niner fan, including Night or Nate, was just
stealing that they had won the Super Bowl for the
first time in thirty years, only to get it ripped
from him.
