Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time for Tim Talks with Softy Talking, Comfort and more,
courtesy of Nordstrum Heating and Air. Now with Tim, Here's
Dave Softy Mueller.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
All right, boys and girls, here we go another edition
of Tim Talks right here courtesy of our friends at
Nordstrom Heating and Air at Nordstromheating dot Com.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
We'll try and get together and.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Do this maybe every now and then, let's say once
a month or so with our friend Timmurle from Nordstrom
Heating dot Com.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Who's with us now? And Tim?

Speaker 2 (00:28):
First of all, great to see and second of all,
why don't we just dig in and talk about kind
of where we are at right now?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
We got the cold weather coming in.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
People want to know what they should be doing to
make sure their heating system is serviced and maintained properly.
Maybe thinking about cooling for the summer months. That will
be here very very soon. But the cool thing about you,
guys is you are not just a one size fits
all shop. You know that when you go to somebody's house,
their needs may be different and their system may look

(00:56):
entirely different than their neighbor.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Right, Yeah, we have to start out with a lot
of people don't understand. There are different sizes of equipment,
and the sizes are in capacities.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
So every house is different.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Every size house is different, and so you can't shove
a square peg in around hole. So one of the
things that we do and pride ourselves on is we
come in and we find out, Look, what does the
house need. Dave, the house gets to pick it. You
don't pick it. I don't pick it. The size of
the house, the insulation, the windows, all that it picks
the size it needs. We have to find out what

(01:31):
that size is. So we apply the correct size system
to your house, yep, so that it will work and
condition and bring you comfort correctly.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yeah, And that really is what it's all about, bringing
you the proper comfort, whether it's heating in the winter
or cooling in the summer.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
And also the peace of mind.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Like for me, the peace of mind is a big deal,
because I'm going to give you an impression, by the way,
this is an impression of my wife when things aren't
working properly in the winter or the summer.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
You're ready.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, there it is right there. And I'm trying to
avoid that. Okay, I would avoid that at all so
tell me about what you can do and what membership
programs you have to make sure people are taken care
of even when they're not thinking about needing to be
taken care of it.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
So, so on the other side of the equation, we
have a membership program. It's called our Fast Membership Program
and encompasses plumbing, electrical heating, and water heaters. And really
what that program is designed to do, Dave, is to
make sure that we take care of you. We're there
to prompt you when you need us. You don't have
to think about calling us for any of those trades
I just listed, And we just want to make sure

(02:33):
you understand we're your heating company, were your plumbing company,
we're your electrical company. You don't have to go out
and make five phone calls. You're dealing with one company,
same integrity throughout.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yeah, And that's what I love about you guys, is
you just provide that peace of mind in that service.
And you know, again, plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, everything.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Under one roof.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Why should I run around looking for four or five
different companies when you guys do it all. But the
cool thing about getting to work with you that I
learned all these new terms, and most of them, I'll
be honest with you, way over my head, right, I'm
not to do and I work in sports, by the way,
I'm in the toys and games department of life. So
I'll leave the important stuff to guys like you. But
you and I were talking about a static pressure test

(03:14):
and why.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
That's important for people to get done. Why is that?

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah, it's important because look, we just don't want to
be a company that shoves in a box for a box,
meaning take out your heat pump, will put in ours,
everything will work great. That isn't always necessarily the case.
There's a distribution system with most people's home. It's called
duct work, and it's what takes the air and moves
it to all the places in your home to make

(03:38):
you comfortable. Most of the time, those systems aren't designed correctly.
And what we want to come in and do is
do a static pressure test. It's a lot like getting
a blood pressure test when you go to the doctor.
We want to find out what is the condition of
your duck system. In other words, we're going to put
this wonderful new variable speed heat pump in your home.

(03:59):
How is the dish distribution system gonna allow that piece
of equipment to reach its full potential, and if it's not,
we need to tell you about that. What you do
with that information, Dave, is totally up to you, but
we want to let you know, Hey, you could make
an improvement here. You can make an improvement there that
would open up the performance and the efficiency of this
new piece of equipment that you're paying a lot of

(04:21):
money for.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
You and getting that done. As you said, you want
to make sure you get optimal performance from your system.
And getting that done, we'll get you towards the road
to do and that listen. I love the membership program.
I love the idea of a heat pump. I've got
one at home and it's been amazing. Right, We've had
it for five years. You guys serviced it obviously last year,
and it runs like a charm. I get the cooling

(04:42):
I need in the summer and the heating I need
in the winter. But for people out there that are
still working with the old separate furnace air conditioners set up,
transferring to a heat pump on the surface sounds and feels.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Like a lot of work to make that move. Why
is it worth it. You think it's.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Worth it because you gain more efficiency. Air conditioning is great,
but really an air conditioner in the summer, it only
works in our parts two three, maybe four months out
of the year, where the heat pump is working for
you all year long. So it's giving you that efficient
heating in the heating season, and then when cooling season comes,
it reverses over and now it will offer you air conditioning.

(05:20):
So you have a piece of equipment that is doing
both all year round versus an air conditioner that sits
idle for six to seven months, right and then has
to fire up on that first eighty degree day. That's
hard on equipment. And so heat pumps are they give
you more efficiency, they're working longer and in run times.
If a piece of equipment is running, they usually require

(05:42):
less maintenance. Yeah, versus something that's sat for six to
seven months and bam, now it's got to come on.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
And if there's rebates available for a heat pump, you've
always said you'll find them for your customers.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah, boy.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
And that rebate subject is there is a depending on
where you live and who your power company is and
whether it's federal. There are so many rebates out there,
But we do a really good job at staying educated
on what rebate is available now, what rebate is available
if you're on Snowmash County, SNOWPUD, what's available at PSC.

(06:14):
It's different from it's different, it's different from utility to utility.
And then you throw in manufacturer rebates that are thrown
out there. Train does a great job at giving us
manufacturer rebates to pass on to the customer. And then
you throw in you got the IRA, which is a
federal tax credit and rebate, which you know, if you
give the Feds anything long enough, they'll figure a way

(06:35):
to make it complicated. We try to figure that out
for you and say, hey, let's unravel it. Let's tell
you the truth, and let's make it palatable for you
to digest.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Tim, I got to tell you I had my heat
pump put in five years ago. Can you get me
a retroactive rebate from five years ago?

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Five years ago? I can't. I can work on a year,
but five years ago I can't.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Well.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Look, I mean, obviously the cold weather is here. You
never know what you're going to get in this of
the woods. Obviously it could be twenty five degrees one
day and fifty five the next, But sooner or later
the hot weather is going to be here. And it
just feels like I'm no meteorologist, but it feels like
it's getting hotter and hotter every single year. More and
more people have air conditioners in Seattle. I've been here
for fifty two years and never even dreamed about needing

(07:17):
an AC unit in the Pacific Northwest, and now it
kind of feels like it's required.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Is now a good.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Time because people think, Hey, nobody's thinking about an air conditioner,
maybe I'll get one now, Or nobody's thinking about the
cooling element of the heat pump.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Maybe I'll get one now.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Despite the fact that it's thirty five degrees outside. Should
people be thinking cooling proactively?

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Well, I think they can think of cooling. Now.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
You have two choices to take there. Can I do
cooling by a heat pump or should I do cooling
by AC? Either way, you got to think about cooling
because that summer will roll around. And you're absolutely correct.
The climate has changed and we are now not in
an environment where it's a nice to have, it's a
need to have. And I think I think people that

(08:02):
are proactive and driving that direction. Look, nobody thinks about
it until they're not comfortable, and then all of a sudden,
the world falls apart. When you're comfortable, you're not thinking
about it. You're you're thinking about you know, the Rams
beating Minnesota, or you're thinking about you dub you. What
we want for people is to not have to think

(08:24):
about their comfort, because that means, yeah, the comfort's doing
its job.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
Well.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
First of all, nobody's thinking about the Rams besides you pal.
By the way, that may be Tim is like literally
the only Rams fan I know that lives here in Seattle.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
He's obviously from La.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
I know four others.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yeah, there you go, and they're probably all your family
about it way one of my wife daughter exactly.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
But the cool thing about you guys, just to close
it up here, is that you're not just a cooling company.
You're not just a heating company, plumbing needs, electrical needs,
which is awesome. I mean, you know, you run around
looking for people that you trust, and you know, I'm
fifty two. You know I find somebody I trust, I'm
gonna go with them probably forever. I don't want to
do all the legwork. So you guys do all of

(09:05):
that under one roof. I got plumbing problems, I can
call you electrical issues. I can call you cooling, heating,
the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Yeah, we'll get you lined up in the right channel.
And that's the great thing is it's you know, it's
it's hard to call five companies and try to develop
five levels of trust.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
That's that's what people are looking at.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
I trust you, you should trust, should trust you around.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
That's exactly why you should trust me.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
But all kidding aside, I mean, people want to do
business with people they trust. And the one thing, look,
we're not perfect, Dave, we do make mistakes. We're human beings.
But the one thing that we move out of is
we are integral. We want people to get what they need.
And so developing that trust, you got to make five
phone calls to find that trust with us. You make

(09:49):
one phone call, we'll show you the trust, we'll earn
the trust, and now you've.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Got five avenues of trust.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
You got electrical, you got plumbing, you got water heaters,
you got HVAC heating and cooling. That that's why it's
one phone call integrity, and it's just a great stop
for it.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Well, it works, and we just want to take care
of people.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah, well you're on the website already, uh Nordstrom heeating
dot com. But the number in case you need it
three six oh three eight six ninety eight nineteen absolutely
is Timmearl's personal cell phone. Call to me two o'clock
in the morning. He leaves his phone on his night stand.
You can bug him whatever you want.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
And how about how about this, Dave, the first three
people that call us okay and decide to go with
a new system, right, we'll take one thousand dollars off
of that new system. Wow, from now until what kind
of systems? Let's do heat pump system, air humbler, heat
pump gas for in his heat pump. I love one
thousand dollars off just because people listening to your.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Show three six oh three eight six ninety eight nineteen.
Give that number a call and take Tim up on
the offer. All right, man, good stuff and we'll talk
down the road. Buddy, appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Pounds good Dave. Thanks
