Speaker 7 (03:21):
The urgency right now of what's happening maybe, and I
think that might be an issue where we are going
to be all right may end up being true, but
I do feel the need for more urgency from players well, coach.
Speaker 8 (03:35):
And I were David Bowie to changes and.
Speaker 9 (03:38):
I'm telling you going back to what you guys are saying,
it's changed. I mean, and we heard Brad you know,
sounded legend talk about this the league has changed, right,
and so I agree. I don't think Jackson, this is
that time to where you know, you can't spend the
same old record. You cannot you know, slow star and
(04:00):
expect to finish fourth. If you look at the standings
right now, you know, I mean, you know, the Sounders
are what the third bottom here and you're looking at
somebody's gonna have to miss the play AFS from LAFC,
maybe LA Galaxy, right and the Sounders.
Speaker 8 (04:15):
Those three teams there are perennial.
Speaker 9 (04:17):
But Brad Evans said it, the league has changed, and
I think going back to this theme of change, the
team has changed in Brian Smetzer is gonna have to
take a look at because let's look at the Sounders.
Speaker 8 (04:28):
You've got some young guys that are ready to play.
Speaker 9 (04:31):
And to your point, Jackson, you've got some of the
old guard that are there. But is it time is
it time to say hey, thanks, but I'm going to
have you come from the bench. Is it time for
those hard decisions. I think it is well.
Speaker 7 (04:44):
I mean, and then you look at those bench guys
like are they ready to go? And like are they
ready to get results for you? It's a great question.
And you know, one of the guys that's kind of
a tweeter. He isn't like a new guy, but he's
not an old guy as Jackson. He's he's sort of
the in between, right, He's kind of he's been with
us for a while now, but at the same time
(05:05):
he's you know, and he's not a young guy for sure.
Obviously he went to college at Michigan and then drafted
and he's kind of, you know, went from fire to us,
worked his way up to the starting spot. And Jackson Reagan.
I think Danny Jackson said it really well on the
pod on the broadcast today in that it's been a
start stop year and today in the first half, I think, yes,
(05:27):
he got better in the second half. You know, Moz
we can talk about. But I think that a lot
of that's just because San Diego didn't do much offensively.
They didn't care about doing much offensively. But it was
a very very tough, rough whatever word you want to use.
First forty five minutes.
Speaker 8 (05:41):
Pete, Yeah, Ryan Kent.
Speaker 10 (05:45):
I'm hoping that guy can come and help us right
right now, you know, bring in some energy, bring Jackson Reagan, yeah,
bring it well, not there, not there, but I'm hoping
that he can bring something new. And you know, I
saw Step at the post unveiling for the World Cup
and I said, you know, you've been very unlucky. The
(06:05):
team has been very unlucky, and yet we've scored great goals.
But you have to earn your luck. That's that is
the truth. And you earn your luck in a variety
of ways. Work, do an extra work, whatever it is.
You know, I'm a believer. I coached at one point
Jimmy McAllister's kid soccer sounder great right, Jeff Stocks Kid,
(06:25):
Tony Jenkins, Tommy Jenkins kid Stevie and and then Tony Chersky,
two guys.
Speaker 11 (06:31):
That played with All four were heroes of mine.
Speaker 10 (06:33):
And I used to say they would give me grief
because I would talk about the soccer gods, right, small
g right. And you earn how you leave a hotel room,
how you train, how you stay after practice, how you
do everything, how you treat people on planes and restaurants
and all that kind of stuff, and Jimmy mccoal's was
very vocal with me saying, you know, you're an idiot
(06:54):
the soccer gods. And then we win the national championship.
He's got tears in his eyes and he's like, okay,
soccer gods. So you have to the Sounders have. Each
player's got to dig within themselves and say, Okay, I
have got to get better. I have got to make
a bigger impact. You know, I'm a bed Vargas. Hey,
I'm trying to get into the first team, the Mexican
national team with the first team, not the twenties.
Speaker 11 (07:14):
So I've got to do something better.
Speaker 10 (07:16):
You know, every single guy that plays, these are all
talented soccer players.
Speaker 11 (07:21):
They have got to pick their game up.
Speaker 10 (07:23):
And Christan Moldan, you got to score some goals, right,
You got to get assists from the wings, right, you
got to earn some luck.
Speaker 7 (07:28):
Moz Jackson Reagan's a good example of that. He has
to get better and he has to know that he
has to get better.
Speaker 8 (07:33):
I would say to a player, good is not enough anymore.
Speaker 9 (07:38):
Yep, you have to go from good to great, And
I mean, does that mean you have to be perfect. No,
But to a player, they have to do those little
extra things coach that you're talking about to be a
great player, and you need all eleven and you can't
be you know, the inconsistent here and there, because that's
what we're seeing, right, somebody makes a run, they don't
(07:59):
get the ball, or then the person with the ball
is waiting for the person to make a run because
the person doesn't make the run because they're waiting for
the ball.
Speaker 8 (08:06):
No, just make the run. The ball's coming.
Speaker 11 (08:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (08:08):
Today I think was a wake up call for the players, hopes, coaches.
I think today they have to look at it and go, Okay,
we have got to get better now, and it's within us, right.
But I think today was yeah, you're going against an
expansion team. But this expansion team's beating both LA teams.
They've beaten oursel this is a very good team, and
they really took it to us and embarrassed us. And
(08:30):
I think each player has to figure out a way
to fix it.
Speaker 7 (08:33):
I think you nail that, Pete. They embarrassed us tonight
where the Seattle Sounders, and it's embarrassing to lose games
three nothing, But this season when the Sounders win wasn't tonight,
but when the Sounders win, you'll win a free McChicken
the next day, exclusively in the McDonald's app with any
minimum two dollars purchase. Download the McDonald's up today and
check out the deals waiting for you. We'll take a break,
we'll come back and look ahead to Dallas next week.
(08:54):
That's next on the Sounders FC radio stream channel on iHeartRadio.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Sound is fun as looking for behind the scenes interviews
with your favorite players and coaches and expa x's and
o's analysis.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Make sure to check out the sound.
Speaker 7 (09:06):
Is FC first half goals Well, time to look ahead
to what's next. Sounders will be heading to FC Dallas
next Saturday, April twelfth. It's gonna be a five to
thirty game at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. We will
have the Providence Swedish prematch show at five o'clock in
that match will be on the Sounders FC Radio. No, actually,
I believe that's gonna be on nine to fifty KJR.
Speaker 11 (09:27):
We are back.
Speaker 8 (09:28):
Hey, we are back on Craig JR.
Speaker 7 (09:31):
Radio. We're gonna be on nine to fifty KJR AM
next Saturday evening again Providence, Swedish prematch show five o'clock folks.
You can also watch the match by MLS Season Pass
on the Apple TV app. So, Dallas, they obviously traded
away heyesus Ferira if Paul Ariola came to us and
obviously very sad to see him get injured. With the
(09:52):
ACL they reloaded a bit Leo Chew has scored for them,
score a winner.
Speaker 8 (09:58):
Last week, I believe.
Speaker 7 (10:00):
So it's a Dallas team and it's a road game
for the Sounders, and you know, Pete Mos, it's just
another chance for this Sounder team to get right.
Speaker 10 (10:08):
I like when they travel because it does give them
a cocoon to get back on track.
Speaker 11 (10:13):
They've always been a good road team.
Speaker 10 (10:15):
This is an important time to do that, and so
it's good that they get away from the noise of
the of the city and they get Their group is
smaller because they don't travel as many players, and hopefully
that will give them an opportunity for a lot of
guys to say, look, we have got to come out.
And it really starts just with work ethic. It is
not going to be sweltering hot. We're not in the
middle of the summer in Dallas. It'll be warm, but
(10:38):
Seattle's going to have to come out and have a spark,
a spark that they had at halftime in the San
Jose game, the last game, not this one, but the
last game.
Speaker 9 (10:48):
Sounders have six points, Dallas has eleven points. So I
think if if there's a time that you gather and
you say let's start, you know, let's build a little
bit momentum, I think this is that game that you
need to turn the corner.
Speaker 8 (11:01):
And I was I was wrong. I think his is
Fair School's next game, not this game.
Speaker 7 (11:06):
I love it one thing every With the broadcast tonight.
Chris Kidd, our technical director here, Jordan Thompson, our broadcast producer.
Great call tonight from Danny Jackson and Brad Evans. Mos
vitam Outa Eira of Cascadia Sports dot Net. Pete Fewing
here on pre half post. My name is Jackson Feltz.
I will be back on Sounders Weekly coming up Wednesday,
ninety three point three kjr FM, where we'll quickly, very
(11:28):
quickly move on from this three to nothing loss, look
ahead to Dallas. We'll have a broadcaster interview. Are you
Lilian wall player interview? We'll get all the good stuff
there as well, and then we'll talk to you next Saturday,
nine to fifty KGr AM for Sounders in Dallas. Well,
thank you so much for listening. Once again from San Diego.
It's a Sounders three. Nothing lost to SANDIFC. Have a
(11:48):
very good weekend everybody,
