on a Wednesday, they announced he will start against the
Packers on Sunday. Sorry, Dylan Gabriel, Sorry sorry, sorry, Jake Browning.
Jake Browning, speaking of the other team, the Browns, Brown's
(01:31):
head coach says, I'm not sure if you do or
Santas's quarterback number two, Dylan Gabriel still number one. Wow,
that's tough. All right, let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
All right, welcome in on a Wednesday afternoon. We are
going to check in with a lot of football today.
We've got our good friend Stewart Mandel will join us
at the bottom of the hour, well not even bottom
of the ar I'm thinking it, what one twenty.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Or so, right, Yeah, it's in like fifteen minutes.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yeah, we'll have Stuart Mandel joining us. Last US time
to get to college football. Get to that in just
a couple of seconds. Also, Mike Hombrin at two pm today.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
We can't wait to hear from coach.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
I want to get the coaches thoughts on Trevor Lawrence,
which we'll do. I'm more on that in a second.
And we're gonna checking with Drake Thomas, Seahawk linebacker. He
is number forty two in your program, number one of
your hearts. He has been playing quite a bit for
the Seahawks and well, here's an interesting thing. Started his
first game ever in the NFL against Arizona. Started his
(02:38):
second game ever last week against Tampa Bay. He is
a good story. Undrafted free agent from North Carolina State
ends up getting going with the to the Raiders camp
last two years ago, got cut in August, came to Seattle,
hurt his knee on the practice squad, kind of sat
out for a year last year, bounced up and down,
(03:00):
back and forth a little bit with the team, and
now has find himself a nice little role. Tyrese Knight
and him kind of rotate is the inside linebacker, which
they play two at a time, next to Ernest Jones.
So he's had a nice little, nice little story for
Drake Thomas, and we'll talk to him, get to know
him a little bit coming up at one forty five.
My assumption is they'll use him a lot, you know,
(03:22):
it's just they a running quarterback in Lawrence kind of
falls in that category, sort of in a different way
in terms of stature than certainly terms how he looks
than Baker Mayfield. But we'll expect to see him play
quite a bit, I would assume on Sunday, I want
to get his thoughts on Tregor Lawrence as well Jesse
like this. You know me, I'm I'm pretty much done
(03:44):
with the world of tweeting, twitters stuff like that. Sometimes
I'm told to do stuff, but really just I just
I don't care anyway. So I did a morning show
today with the guys in jack. So a guy calls
me yesterday and text me and goes, hey, can you
come on and talk Seahawks? And I said, yeah, sure,
(04:06):
what the hell, we'll talk. See you want to talk
about the last night. You guys are a minor league city.
You you don't have a.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Did not witness those when I was in Jacksonville.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Ten ten XL is the station. So I went on
this morning with Fat Tony, uh and it's part and
they said, what's the difference, what will be the difference
in the game? On Sunday I said, quarterback likes guys
better than your guy. Your guys not very good, Trevor Lawrence,
Oh my god, they lost their mind. I might as
(04:37):
well have said something about their mom and their wife,
like they lost their mind.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Wait did they put it out also?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Now I'll say this, Fat Tony and company, I think
they have a well listened to show or at least
a well listened to show you.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Okay, I have, and we are very much almost as
far away as we can get in the country.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
We are. That's about as far as you.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Yeah, but yeah, I am aware of that shoe.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Let's see big will ninety nine oh four Ian Finnez
keep that same energy after the Jaguars do this, this
and this? Okay, perfect, let's see yeah, please, yeah, you
know I'll see you soon, buddy. I'm not going, but
that's cool. Let's see what else. Let's see Sam darnlingd
(05:25):
being Yell's coreer advanage is certainly a take. He is
Sam Darnold, after all, I would I would say, well,
tell me you haven't watched the Seahawks play this year
without telling me you haven't watched the Seahawks play this year anyway,
I really, I'm I'm rooting hard now for a bad
meltdown by Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
Just a safe face, hey, route to be right this week.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
I'm rooting to be right with this one. Yes, I'm
definitely rooting to be right with this one. There's no
doubt about that. No, it was it was. It was fun.
I like going on with those guys. I do chuckle guys,
I don't care Jacksonville. I I tried to be nice
about the city. I said, listen, I was there in
twenty seventeen. We covered the game. The last time the
Sax played in Jacksonville, by the way, was twenty seventeen.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Oh, holy crab. I didn't realize it was that.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
A long time ago.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah, and not a party city.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
I didn't like. If you're being safe, Well, here's the
thing I gave them. I said on the I said
on the air, of those guys said I I probably
need to go back sometime because when we went there
it was post hurricane. I'm not sure which hurricane, and
I'm not diminishing that by any means. They named him
every year. I don't know which what name that was,
but like it was just it was awful, like it
(06:35):
was nothing and not that the city was destroyed, but
there had been enough water and stuff, and it was
just kind of where we stayed there was it was
a big nothing burger. Couldn't find a place to eat,
you know. I couldn't find any place to get a coffee, like,
oh really outside of the ballroom in the hotel, which
had like it was just a bad experience, everything about
Jacksonville's bad experience.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
So I was staying right on the waterfront by the
little river that goes through there, and so we stayed. Yeah,
the marry out there. Yeah, I worked the world's largest
cocktail party.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Oh did you?
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Oh nice?
Speaker 3 (07:08):
And so I did that in twenty ten.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
And that did they play in that in the jag Stadium?
Speaker 3 (07:15):
They do? Okay, yeah, well they did.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
I don't know if they continue that tradition, but we yeah,
we we did it.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
And I had an ESPN crew coming in, so I
had to be there early. So I spent three days
down there.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
But you didn't want to go outside that half mile radio.
Speaker 5 (07:31):
No.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
And the thing that they do have there, which I
would be way into, is they got great golf around
that area.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Oh I saw dolphin.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah, saw dolphin in the river. Oh wow, there you go.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
No, it was great.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
We didn't see anything like that. I was there with
my great photographer Erica, and we're like, uh, oh, where
do we get a coffee? There isn't one. Listen, I'm
not a huge Starbucks fan, but like I was thinking,
it's south, it should be able to find dunkin Donuts.
You can find that, you can find nothing.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
No, that's East.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
So I had to be nice these guys. But I'm like, listen, man,
if I'm being honest, your city sucks. I mean, it
just does.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
I got a followed to a grocery store. I was
trying to get a sandwich or something that I can
take back to my room. I got followed and turned back.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Why did you get you get some gas station sushi?
Speaker 1 (08:15):
No?
Speaker 3 (08:15):
I was trying to That's what I was trying to avoid.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Gas station.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
I just ate sleep for dinner.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Yeah, it was, it was. It was bad. Anyway, I
hope she has to go down there to kick their ass,
just as so I can kind of chuckle.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
No offense, Trevor. But we're not rooting for your hair,
I don't.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
I just look at that guy, and I feel like,
remember when he can't when he went to college as
a freshman, Like this guy, this guy could start in
the NFL right now. He's the biggest camp miss prospect
in the history of the league. Blah blah blah. And
he's never done anything. Now they're having a good season
this year. A lot of a lot of us are
defense is really good. You watch him play at times,
you think, man, I think this cat like I don't
(08:52):
think he gets it. Like, I just don't think he
gets it sometimes.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Don't think he's been met with the adversity that a
lot of us faith in life.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah, I was just like, you're gonna be the but
he has. He has struggled, no doubt. So anyway, go Jacksonville,
Go Jags. Douvo. Yeah, they were telling me about I.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Do like their fans because you've got to be true
and true for that.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
And the and I will say this, the game we
went to down there, it was bad like Seahawks lost it.
It was kind of the beginning of the end for Seattle. Oh, yeah,
that it was kind of the beginning. It was kind
of when things were going south. And I believe I'm
just going to look this up, I think Jesse, if
I'm not mistaken. Was that the first year? That might
(09:33):
have been the first year did they get to the playoffs? Yeah,
they didn't get to the playoffs that year. Nine and seven,
not in that was that was the year they didn'tet
to the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Yeah. I remember that last game too, because they already
knew during that game they weren't going to make it.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Yeah, they were. They finished, they finished nine and seven.
That was the year that they had gone to the
playoffs one, two, three, four, five straight years and six
of the seven under Carroll and Schneider, and they didn't
go that year. I want to say that was also
the year that is that the year that we had
a nice little holdout from our good friend Cam Cam.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Yeah, they yeah, they didn't go next That's why they
didn't go to the next year.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yeah, that was the year. Yeah green Bay lost at
home to Green Bay. Yeah, it was it was what
it was away, I Digress. All right, listen, we're going
to get into a lot of college football today. Stuart
Mandale's going to join us coming up next, and Stu
was gonna who's in and who's out as far as
the college football playoff is concerned. Are we looking at
(10:40):
Notre Dame still having a chance to get in with
their two losses? What about Texas? How Sark after Dark?
Is he still have a chance to get in as well?
We'll also talk to him about some big matchups this weekend.
Oregon Indiana near the top of the list, so a
lot to get to. Also the Bill Belichick horror show
that's going on in Carolina. So all things college football
(11:02):
is Stuart Mandel, Drake Thomas from the Seahawks at one
forty five, and the coach Mike Hongrian two o'clock. Don't
forget we also have a fact or fiction pick coming
up today that's at two thirty five. Right here on

Speaker 2 (11:56):
All right, here we go. Our good friend Stuart Mandel
joins is his week we visit talking all things college football.
Lots of stuff to get into this week. Hello sir,
how are you good?
Speaker 5 (12:08):
Well?
Speaker 2 (12:08):
You obviously fixed whatever's going on. It's stew the stew
of state is, as Bruce called it, Ralph called it.
I missed I missed you on the Audible podcast yesterday
with with all the picks. But sounds like things are
well in hand there, right, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
I'm excited for people to see the new backdrop on
the next next episode on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Did you do it yourself or is it like mine?
The one I use for my stuff? Okay, my wife
did mine.
Speaker 6 (12:34):
I wouldn't be even fuld a box put in the show.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
I got to do one finally, and and my wife
did it for me, so I know the feeling all right,
let's uh, you know what, I'm gonna start with the
saalacious fun rumor crazy. Everyone wants to know what's going
on and uh and all of that. Uh, and that's
uh the world of of North Carolina football and Bill
Belichick and what the hell is going on there? It's
obviously been a struggle.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
And they canceled the Hulu series. I didn't even know
there was a Hulu series? But what are we going?
What's going on there? Right now?
Speaker 6 (13:08):
They're bad? Right, They're really bad. And I think it's
pretty clear that something went terribly wrong in constructing the roster.
Bill Belichick and his GM Michael Lombardi came in and
seemed certain that they could outsmart everybody in the portal
and salary cap and free agency because their NFL experience.
(13:32):
I've been talking to some people agents and whatnot, and
it just seems like they didn't grasp it at all.
And so you have a roster that, frankly might not
even have been a good group of five roster. They've
been blown out, just really uncompetitive in the three games
they've played against Power four teams. And you know, Clemson
had really been struggling on offense all season. They that
(13:53):
game starts and it's clear they're going to be able
to name their score UCF. I don't even think is
really that good, and they blew them out. So think
you know, obviously people are frustrated there. People are starting,
you know, things are starting to come out. Bruce Selmyn
reported that one of their assistants has been suspended for
an extra benefits violation. I don't can't say I've blamed
(14:15):
them for canceling to who. I'm sure UNC wanted no
part of that because it's not going to be very flattering.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah, I saw that story from that. Ste reported that
I was thinking, what are can you define, Stuart Mandel,
what extra benefits are in today's college football? I thought
everything was an extra benefit ye.
Speaker 6 (14:32):
In this specific case and this there was a W
hope I don't get this wrong. W r R A
L and Raleigh had a story with a bunch of
anonymous clothes from parents, and one of them was talked
about how one of the player's families had free UH
sideline passes and parking passes and so, I mean, I
can't really explain this to somebody. You know, what's coming
(14:55):
in from the outside. But it is legal to give
players seven figure contracts, but it is not legal to
give the sideline passes.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Well, that makes sense, as everything does these days, saysn't
it. It goes back to the Rick Majeri says he can't
buy a kid of pizza, you know, when he was
coaching at Utah, Although having worked at Salt Lake at
the time with Rick, I think it was more than pizzas.
But we'll move on. Stuart Mandel joining us here on
the Beacon Publy hotline. We'll stay with the coaches ap
Top twenty five has Penn State out of the top
(15:24):
twenty five. The Coaches poll has them still in at
twenty two, but at three and two and a horrific
I mean just a horrific loss at UCLA. James Franklin
finds himself under some scrutiny again. Is he in any
trouble at Penn State or is he a guy that's
just you know, he's I think you wrote about it.
He's gonna win ten or eleven games and you live
(15:45):
with that.
Speaker 5 (15:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
I never would have said he would be in trouble
before Saturday. I mean, as frustrated as the fans were
there about continuing to lose in the in the big
games like the Organ game. You're not going to fire somebody,
especially at that cost the bioticifty six million dollars for
winning tileven games the year. But I do think this
game was a possibly a point of no return game.
(16:08):
I mean, this was the team that they spent all
this money on, that was built to Winter National Championship,
that is all but done in you know, week six,
and just an absolutely excusable loss. Now We'll see how
the rest of the season plays out. I mean, I
don't think it's just this one game. Right Where do
they go from here? They have Ohio State and Indiana still.
(16:29):
Can they win one of those maybe possibly get back
into playoff contention. But at the end of the day,
it's so clear to everybody there now, like.
Speaker 7 (16:36):
This is just not going to happen.
Speaker 6 (16:38):
This is not the coach who's going to lead us
to glory. It's been twelve years of this and that
stuff like this is still happening. By the way that game,
if you saw it, there were some really questionable coaching decisions.
I don't know if they were decisions, just like lapses
and game management down the stretch so I know, I
don't know how that works. I don't know that Penn
State's the school that has an extra fifty million dollars
(16:59):
sitting around to buy him out of a contract, or
if he himself is going to be like, you know,
this is just I'm never gonna you know, the fans
are never going to embrace me here. We're just gonna
keep doing this over and over again. Should he find
an exit plan?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Yeah, I watched a good chunk of that. I was.
I was, it's weird because you know, you can't get
into somebody's head, but boy, he looked just stunned, confused,
And I think we all were watching the game because
UCLA has been such a train wreck, like how can
a Penn State go there? And it's not like there's
a home field advantage for UCLA either, and that that
it was. It was just one of the oddest things
(17:36):
I've seen in college football in a long time. We've
seen a lot of oddities.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
It was.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
It was done. Is there a path for Penn State
at all? Is there any path for them to get
to the College Football Playoff?
Speaker 6 (17:47):
Well, I think they'd have to win out, which if
they do, it's going to come with a couple of
really good, good wins. There's not a lot of reason
I faith they can do that though, because he can't.
He's hardly ever won any big top ten games and
need him really in two down the stretch. And then
the other thing is, well, look if they can do
that went out go ten to to two top tennish wins,
they're probably going to get in. But nobody thinks they
(18:09):
can do that. Right, No, if you're nine and three
with a couple of good wins, and then I think
it depends on what UCLA does because it has often
been the case that some of these losses that seem
so bad at the time, that team ends up not
as bad as you thought. Right, So if UCLA is
two and ten at the end of the year, no
way that the committee's going to You know, overlook that
(18:31):
if they're five and seven, there have been teams that've
gotten the playoffs before having lost to a five and seventeen.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Suer Mandel joining us here on the b Companent Hotline,
The Athletic and the Audible Podcast, I'll ask the same question.
I think there is, although I don't think they have
many chances for quality wins left Notre Dame still has
a chance to get to the college football playoff, much
to the chagrin I'm sure of many in the country.
Speaker 6 (18:54):
Oh yeah, absolutely, because those two losses were close losses.
The teams are now ranked in the top five. I
actually think they're still pretty good. You know, the defense
was definitely a problem in those games. That's been better
since then. They've got a great quarterback, dere My Love
and Jenderium Price at running backs, but they don't have
any margin for air, right, So it's whether you think
(19:15):
they're good enough to run the table, and I do
think they are, And if they do that, it's not
even really going to be a question. I know everybody
wants to, you know, it's you know, if they hate
Notre Dame. But I think maybe because we've only been
through one year of this, people don't necessarily realize you
get to the end of the season, there aren't going
to be twelve great teams to put in the playoffs.
(19:36):
Theyre just aren't. I mean, look at who the teams were.
Look at who barely missed last year was that nine
and three Alabama team with two bad losses. So a
ten and two Notre Dame team with two, I would
say respectable losses is going to be clearly.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
In pretty interesting game this weekend. STI speaking of playoff teams,
Texas we know was one last year and even two
years ago when they played Washington in the MY Finals.
They're taking I don't know if we still call it
the Red River Shootout. I don't know what we call
it these days. But Oklahoma and Texas I know this.
I guess it's a conference game, right, red real I'm
saying Red River rivalry is what it's called now. The
Red River Rivalry.
Speaker 6 (20:11):
That is what it's called.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
That's what it's called now. Oklahoma Texas and last I checked,
that's now an SEC conference game as well. Cotton Bowl
twelve thirty on ABC on Saturday. Oklahoma probably still without
in the tier. I believe Texas reeling at three and
two and a lot of questions going on with what's
going on with Sarks team. I think just first of all,
you read on that game, and how bad do Sark
(20:34):
need this game?
Speaker 5 (20:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (20:37):
I mean my read on the game is I can't
believe Texas is favored, and I never should question Vegas,
but if you've seen their offensive line, especially in that
Florida game. And then if you look at what Oklahoma's
defense has been doing this year getting to the quarterback,
it seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Now, you
could say, over Oklahoma, if they don't hy Jeometier, you know,
(20:58):
what are they going to do on offense?
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Right?
Speaker 6 (21:01):
And there is some there is some speculation he could play.
We'll see. Texas has to figure out what to do,
uh with that offensive line because it's a it's a
real problem and one of those ones that I'm kicking
myself though I didn't didn't take seriously, I'm going to
season anytime you lose four offensive line starters. And so
I'm I've gone from being like what the heck is
(21:23):
wrong with Arch to being like this poor guy, like
he's listened to anything. He can't stand up right. They
literally took his helmet off at one point. So yeah,
I think if there's no Materire, it's more of a
toss up game. If Materier does play and play as well,
I just don't know how Texas is going to match that.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Yeah, really good Oklahoma defense that makes stuff. I'm gonna
actually I'm gonna go back to Notre Dame for a
second if I can, because you probably see metrics with
the athletic and see what that. You know, you guys are,
I mean your your world's college football. It's funny you
said something there that resonated with me, and I think
it's true. A lot of people root against Notre Dame.
When they got that second loss, people are like, good,
(22:03):
glad they're not in the college football playoff conversation anymore.
And again upon further review, they're more than still in
it as we just as you just referenced, and of
a lot of reasons. But Notre Dame is an interesting team.
It feels like people love to hate them, but they're
still good for business in college football, are they not?
I mean, I'm sure your metrics are, or you see
some things that say, hey, writing about Notre Dame is
(22:25):
still good for business. Talking about Notre Dame is still
good for business.
Speaker 6 (22:30):
You know, obviously they're still obviously one of the big brands,
but I don't think it's the way it was thirty
years ago. Ohio State is the big brand. Now, you know,
Michigan's up there with Notre Dame, Alabama. I mean, if
you saw last week the most watched game in college
football was a Vanderbilt Alabama game. So that should tell
you how how big a brand name that is. I
(22:52):
also feel like last year with the rare time where
people did notre Dame in the playoffs because they were
like kind of the underdog, and then it's just snapped
right back this year. You know one thing I've I've
all the time I've been doing this, there is just
this resounding feeling and opinion that they are gaming the
system by not being in a conference. Right, so many
(23:14):
people like, why are they going to join a conference?
They should be banned from the playoff because they don't
play in a conference. And it's like, well, if you
actually look at the schedule ratings year in and year out,
it's there. It's not their schedule is easier. They really might,
you know, like considerably easier than, for instance, most of
the Big ten teams.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
It's just not.
Speaker 6 (23:32):
I mean, now, they do have a lot I would
say volatility from your year, Like if USC is good,
then their schedule looks good. If USC is bad that year,
there goes one of their you know, their big wins,
and so you know, on paper, the teams they have
left none of them are ranked particularly high, but it's
I don't I've never felt like they have some big
advantage if anything, and sometimes it's a disadvantage because they
(23:54):
have to take you know, you heard James Franklin blaming
the travel for the UH Penn State UCLA game. I
mean Notre Dame does that every year, multiple times a year.
They're always in the big primetime game, which makes for
some you know, late nights back. And then you know
the fact that you know, for a lot of these opponents,
(24:15):
like Notre Dame is their biggest game of the year.
For Notre Dame, it's not that way. So I'm not
making excuses for them, but I just think that if
the reason somebody's reading against them is because they're not
in the conference, I guess I don't get that.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
What is Stuart Mandel's thoughts on Big Ten coaches complaining
about travel?
Speaker 6 (24:35):
So wow, you just it's a little bit of a
spoiler for the episode later accordingly.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
To give give me a synopsis. Then well, yeah, I.
Speaker 6 (24:46):
Here's the thing. I do think it's real. I do think.
I mean, there's been a long list of teams this
year that travel cross country and fell into deep holes
and some of them came back. Washington came back from
twenty ninheing last week. So I do think it's like
it is a it's not a it's a real thing.
But I don't I don't think anybody wants to hear
(25:06):
the coaches make excuses like I feel bad for the
players I have to do this, But nobody wants to
hear the coach make excuses, and especially I mean, the
one that killed me last year was mc cronin whining
and whining about the bass of the Big Ten putting
them into giving this to those terros. I's like, nobody
forced you to late to join the Big Ten. You know,
(25:27):
you guys took the money and now this is what happens.
But I don't think it's a completely preposterous thing to
think it might affect some games.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
I think mc cronin's I remember having that conversation with
my buddy Gary Parrish during the college basketball season about that,
and the cronin one was laughable. I mean, listen, these
guys are all flying on charters, but football charter is
far different than a basketball charter, if basketball charter is smaller.
Speaker 6 (25:48):
Not even really about Humpert or anything like that. It's
the time zones. Yeah, you know, any of us who
have done that like the times you feel the times.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
That Oh yeah, yeah, I know, I did it for
sixteen years. It's not fun and I didn't have to
play a game, But it's it's you. You made that
choice or you your school made that choice along the way.
Speaking of taking everybody's best shot, Alabama falls into that category, Stewart.
They now sit there at four and one, two and
zero in the SEC. You mentioned the Vanderbilt game. They
(26:16):
somehow survived pavia Mania and everything else and got to win.
Ty Simpson's thirteen touchdowns one interception on the season so far.
Caylin de Bor after that early loss, seems to have
righted the ship, but they got a tough one this
week though. They got to go to Missouri, will find
out how real number fourteen Missouri is and Alabama hoping
not to have a letdown.
Speaker 6 (26:35):
I think Missouri is really good and probably you know,
being overlooked. They have the top running back in the
country they I mean, Eli drink Wish just does a
really good job there. And so it's a tough turnaround
from for Alabama, no question. And this is where they've
had problem. Mean, when they went in and beat Georgia
on the road, that was a big deal because they
had broms on the road last year. Here's the thing.
(26:58):
If Alabama loses this game, I'm sure everybody will freak out.
You know, that might be their toughest game the rest
of the way. They're playing Tennessee at home at South Carolina,
LSU at home, Oklahoma at home Eastern no One to
play at home at Auburn. Like I think this might
be one of It's not the toughest game they have left,
and it's definitely a tough spot, but it's gonna be
(27:19):
a big moment for Missouri. Like I said, I feel
like no matter how much they win, they always get
forgotten about their The SEC is forgotten team. So there's
a big opportunity for them.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
A couple more things for you, Stewart. Let me start
with Oregon Indiana. Indiana's ranked number seven. They're undefeated. It
feels like a quiet undefeated, but maybe it's just because
it's Indiana and we live in a world of blue
bloods and everything else. They did it last year, they're
doing it again this year as well. They have to
come to Eugene and take on Oregon. It's not across
the country, but it's a long trip. More importantly, as
(27:48):
it's hard to play it like that's like Bloomington's one thing,
Audsin's a whole different other thing, and that should be
a hell of a battle for Oregon. Taking on Indiana.
How good is Indiana do you think?
Speaker 6 (28:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (28:02):
In the.
Speaker 6 (28:04):
They were kind of flucid last play, a tough enough schedule, okay,
but the big difference in Frando Mendoza. Uh, you know
the guy they had last her first work was good
and he he did the job. But you know, Fernanda
Mendoza could be a first round pick. And all the
analytics you know, say that Indiana is right now like
a top three, top five team. Now, that is a
(28:24):
tough spot they're going into. I will say. Then they
went on the road to Iowa, they were not nearly
as dominant as they were in a home against Illinois.
So it's you know, I do expect Orgon to win
the game, but it'll be interesting to see what the
narrative would be. I mean, if Anyana gets blown out,
obviously okay, everybody will say they're frauds. And if they
(28:44):
if it's a good game, if it's like that Oregon
Penn State game, if they can earn some respect, because
people no matter what Illinois was ranked, you know, I
know they're not. They don't have that big brand behind them.
So if if you didn't take that seriously enough. Although
I thought that was one of the most impressed performances
of the season, We'll see how they compete against Oregon.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
I'm wondering, Stewart, just to wrap things up, you know,
like you mentioned Missouri you think is really good. Indiana
will find out a little bit too. A and M
got a coach's vote, number one vote in the coaches poll.
You know, Ohio State, Miami, Oregon, Ole, miss A and
m Oklahoma, Indiana, Alabama, Texas Tech, Georgia, some semblance of
(29:25):
that is your top ten right now? Is there a cutoff,
like do you feel like it's the three top teams
like a lot of people Ohio State, Oregon, Miami and
there's a little bit of a drop after that, or
do you think it's a little bit more parody, a
little bit more closer together than that.
Speaker 6 (29:39):
Yeah, I mean I think Ohio State, Oregon, Miami to
this point and it's early have separated themselves a little bit.
Texas A and M is one. I'm I mean, they
have one of the biggest wins of the year at
Notre Dame, and I think maybe the only reason we're
hesitating to put them up there is to the Texas
A and M's history of disappointing in these spots. But
you know, between Ole, miss A and M Oklahoma and Alabama,
(30:01):
I mean, I think any of those teams could win
the SEC and we'll see where that plays out. But
none of these teams are unbeatable. That's college football now,
even Ohio State, as great as they've looked, you know,
you peel back to you know, the like now that
win over Texas isn't quite as impressive as it was
at the time. Like well, you know, it's it's entirely
(30:24):
possible that they have a whole sumwheer and it just
hasn't been exposed. But to this point, they've looked pretty untouchable. Oregon,
you know, one of the best wins of the season
at Penn State, and Miami's actually had several big wins
to this point.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
So we're tell people about the audible what do you
got going on to use part of it apparently for
you inadvertently, so that's good.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
Yeah, thank you, thank you, and thank you for plugging
it every week. The Audible comes out Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Everywhere you get podcasts, it's on YouTube at audible Show.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Now I listen. I don't say it just just to
say it. I listened to it every week. I think
it's fantastic. I truly enjoy it. You guys do a
great job with it. I'm a college football fan and
I you know, we only have a certain amount of
time in the day, so I can tell our listeners.
I take the time to listen to these guys. I
think it's a ton of fun. The three of you
do a great job. All three are well well regarded
(31:15):
college football writers. I'm the Athletic Theathletic dot com. So
go check it out, download it, subscribe the Audible, and
then of course reads Dousa. I love the final thoughts
after the games on Saturday into Sunday. And then obviously
the mailbag is always fun as well, because nothing nothing
screams a good time for a writer like having crazy
college football fans send you a questions to answer. So
go check out as well. Go check that out as well.
(31:36):
Thank you, my friend. We'll talk soon.
Speaker 5 (31:39):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (31:39):
Thanks.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
That's a him.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
All right, Welcome back in Sports Radio ninety three point
three The KJRFM e interness with you and joining us
right now talking to little Seahawks football and the Beacon
Plumbing hot Line. Seahawk linebacker Drake Thomas. Iught'd be good
to get to know him a little bit. He's making
a big impact for the Seahawks this season. Wearing number
forty two. I made his first career start at linebacker
against the Arizona Cardinals, seeing a lot of playing time. Drake,
(32:30):
how are you today?
Speaker 5 (32:31):
I'm doing well. I appreciate you guys having me on
the show.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Listen, man, I appreciate you coming on. It's I think,
you know, it's one of those things. There's a lot
of guys out there and people like who's forty two.
He seemed to be out there making some plays. I said,
that's Drake Thomas. Man, that's Drake Thomas from North Carolina State.
He's he's getting some opportunities right now. Hey, first, first
of all, for you is a guy that you know,
you're an undrafted free agent in twenty twenty three, you
were with the Raiders and then Seattle claimed you. You
(32:56):
had some injuries, but but you've kind of established yourself
as an NFL player. Man, what was the road like
to get to this point?
Speaker 5 (33:04):
You know, there's a lot of ups and downs. I
would say, to this point, a lot of trial, you know,
hard times, whatever it is you're going through, injury, not
being exactly where I want to be, a lot of work,
and you know, so it's been it's been a long
but fun journey to get to this point.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
For sure, you've got to believe in yourself. I'm assuming
just because you're five to eleven, not the heaviest guy.
To twenty eight were people telling you, hey, nice career
in college, but you're just you know, you're probably not
big enough for the NFL. Was that the biggest challenge
you faced?
Speaker 5 (33:37):
Yeah, as far as like hearing it Yeah, but like
what the reality is. I wouldn't say it's actually, you know,
much of a challenge at all, but yes, definitely hearing it.
And that was the biggest thing when I was coming
out of college was them, you know, talking about my size.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
You have established yourself now and you're get an opportunity.
It feels like it's kind of a nice role that
that they have for you. You you kind of rotate
out there with ty Reese a little bit. How would
you describe what your role is for the Seahawks, you.
Speaker 5 (34:06):
Guys, I feel like it varies week the week. Honestly,
in my opinion, the way I look at it is
wherever they need me and whatever the coaches asked me
to do, that's what I'm gonna do. You know, I'm
going to do to the best of my ability. I'm
going to prepare and be ready to take on that
role and I'm gonna, you know, do everything I can
to excel in that role.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
Drake Thomas joining a Seahawks linebacker here on the Beacon
Plumbing hot line not what you guys wanted last week
against Tampa. That's not a Mike McDonald defensive performance. That's
not what you guys probably expect out of yourself. I'm
sure there's been a lot of talk film study this week.
If just before we move ahead a little bit, looking
back last week, what do you think was the big
reason why? Besides for being honest, Baker may feels pretty
(34:46):
damn good, kind of like your quarterback Sam Donald right now.
But when you guys are looking at things, what went
wrong and what can be corrected? Do you think?
Speaker 5 (34:55):
I just feel like there's a lot of stuff that
was uncharacteristic of our defense in general as a whole.
We got to get back, you know, just the being us,
playing our style, being on the same page, and having
that high standard that we have to have of ourselves.
So we just got to meet that every single day,
whether it's practice, whether it's you know, the film room walkthroughs.
We gotta be consistently trying to raise that standard in
(35:19):
everything that we do.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
You got some guys, some veterans on that team that
have been around for a while. Jared Reed's kind of
an alpha dog out there, I know, as well as
Big Cat. And then you're playing next to a guy
in Ernest Jones. What does Ernest Jones do for you?
Speaker 5 (35:32):
I mean, he's the he's the energize, energizer for our defense.
But he's also like the calm. He brings a calmness
to the defense. You know, he he's making big plays,
he's calling the defense, he's getting people aligned right and
getting everything checked. You know, he just honestly is the
energizer and you know, the core of our defense.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
He's a guy that I mean that Mike linebacker, he's
I mean for for you guys in that room too,
I'm assuming for the inside linebackers. Is I mean, he's
a guy. Is funny because I was look at him
and think he must have been in the league for
ten years and he hasn't been. He's a little bit
older than you, but not much right, and yet he
feels like he's kind of that that the leader, the
father figure of all you guys. Am I seeing that correctly?
Speaker 5 (36:15):
Yeah, I mean definitely like a big brother type of guy.
He's been through a lot in the you know, in
his time in the NFL, he's he's had a lot
of good experience. He's been you know, at the highest
point and won a Super Bowl, and he's had his
low points as well, and he shared that with us.
So he just having those those experiences that he's able
to share with us and give us knowledge. It's really
cool to have him in that room with us.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
Drake Thomas with us Cek linebacker number forty two. Al Right,
you're traveling back east. You're going to Jacksonville early game.
One thing that has not been a problem for this
team is playing on the road. What you guys have
done is translated to the road games. But you're taking
on a team that's probably coming in with a lot
of confidence after what they did on Monday against Pat
Mahomes and the Chiefs. Let's talk about what you see
with Jacksonville. I'll start with the quarterback with Trevor Lawrence.
(36:58):
When you're watching Trevor Lawrence play, what do you see
from him?
Speaker 5 (37:01):
An extremely talented quarterback. He has all the things that
you need to be an elite level quarterback in the NFL.
I'd say, like so, his talent level is extremely high,
and he makes a lot of big plays for them.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
He runs the ball too at times effectively. You just
saw that Baker. Their different stature, obviously different styles, but
how aware do you guys have to be the fact
that he can you know, hell, he can fall down
and run into the end zone. We saw that Monday
night and then stepped off.
Speaker 5 (37:27):
He did that.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
How aware of his running ability must you be?
Speaker 5 (37:31):
You got to be very aware of Obviously he's he's
proved that. It's a you know, a threat to defenses.
So you got to understand the rush plan and the
tackling plan and when he you know, gets outside of
the pocket and he's making plays with his legs and
you got to know how to uh, you got to
know how to stop it. So it's definitely something that
we account for.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
I'll ask you about their running back. It's for me,
I feel like they could use him more ATMU feels
like he's maybe you know, and I don't know, maybe
I'm just kind of watching one game and thinking that.
But that guy seems to be a big time threat
as well.
Speaker 5 (38:04):
Yeah, he's super explosive. He's a very explosive runner, and
it pops out on film. So yeah, I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
Does the travel bother you guys at all? Going back East?
I mean I just mentioned the record. Mike seems to
really in your performance. Guys seem to have this thing
dialed in. I mean, it's we're hearing a lot about
in college football. I mean now that teams are complaining
on Big ten teams, I got a fly across country
back and forth. NFL teams do that week in and
week out. Whatever you guys are doing seems to work.
What is it about going back east or traveling that
(38:31):
seems to fit your team so well?
Speaker 5 (38:34):
I feel like it just kind of speaks for the
organization everyone kind of packing up and bringing everything that
we have here in Seattle and taking it out there
just with one mission and goal in one focus, and
so just I feel like it speaks volumes just the
everyone in the organization for how well we were able
to do it make it seem seamless.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Well, Drake, it's been a ton of fun watching this.
I like a good story. I think a lot of
fans like a good story. U DFA to a guy
that started a couple of games now this year in
the National Football League and making an impact for what
will be and should be most weeks, one of the
best defenses in the NFL with Mike McDonald leading the way. So,
Drake Thomas, thanks for jumping all of this today. Safe
travels back there and continued success. We appreciate your time today.
Speaker 5 (39:14):
Yes, sir, appreciate you guys a lot.

Hi Mike, how are you good?
Speaker 7 (41:05):
How's it going here?
Speaker 5 (41:06):
Good?
Speaker 2 (41:07):
Great to have you on.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
Hey.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
By the way, later on this year, sometime maybe after
the holidays or something, we got to get you to
a cracking game. I know you went to one last
year with the family, but we want to get you
to Craig. We want to have you come up and
join us on the pregame set all right and say
hello at some point.
Speaker 7 (41:19):
I'd love to do that, you know. We that's kind
of a tradition now because the kids love hockey my
family and so we've been able to get a get
go there once and have a real special night. And
I'd love to do that.
Speaker 5 (41:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
Here's here's why I say that, because people say, Ian,
you've got you have coach on all week. You have
him on every week on your show. You guys see,
he seems like he's most of the time he's okay
with you. I say, yeah, most of the time. Would
be a good win to it, I'd say the short time,
I said, it helps to that have just by my
side because he likes Jess, So you know, it's it's
having her here help coach, you know, just.
Speaker 7 (41:55):
Does Jess helps a lot.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
Yes, Coach and I relate on a level that uh,
you know, it's like a daughter.
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Yes, yes, you know my dad's a coach.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
Yeah, And so I figure that and they say, well
you got that. It do you think you could finally
get him to come up here and join us for
a couple of minutes and the we had Walter, we
had Walter Jones on the pregame show last year, Isaiah
Thomas and some others. Yeah, so I said, I'll check
with coach. I bet, I bet we can get him
to come up at some point and say hi to
us up on the set and do a little TV
with us. I'm just I just need to look good
for those folks I work for over there. Mike, you
(42:25):
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (42:25):
Hey, anything I can, anything I can do. You know, really,
I'm in there.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
I'm kind of me I love it, thank you, Hey
you and Kathy, that'd be But yeah, let's do that.
Let's get the whole family up there, all right. Lots
to get to Let me first started talking about last week.
We talked about Baker Mayfield a week ago going into
this game, and I know you said he really liked him.
We've talked about this a few times. Baker Mayfield and
Sam Darnold might be the best examples of this. Just
(42:51):
guys that just it didn't work out in one place
and they go somewhere else. Hughes said on Monday, and
I tend to agree Baker Mayfield may be the leading
Canada or one of the leading candidates for MVP in
the NFL. And I'm not sure any of us saw
that come in the last couple of years.
Speaker 7 (43:06):
Mike, No, you no, we didn't see it coming in.
Speaker 5 (43:09):
But he was right.
Speaker 7 (43:11):
And you know, you watch just you watch many games
he's played, and he's very accurate. He makes good decisions,
he gets out of trouble. He just throwing the ball
so well. And you can tell when he goes through
the sidelines. They show him on television talking to his
guys and he's a leader. He's yeah, he's having a
great year.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
I'm going to get to Trevor Lawrence to the see
in a second here in a second, I think they
tied together a little bit. Mike, what is the biggest
and hardest thing that you came across in all your
years coaching quarterbacks the transition from college to pros Because
it just seems so it's rare, right the guys go
from college and just have have instant success in the pros.
(43:52):
Now they can at times have it. We understand that,
but like, what is the biggest or the hardest challenge
to make that transition.
Speaker 7 (43:59):
Do you think, well, I think they're going against better
people all the time. You can in college, you can
be you can play for a Texas or Michigan or
Ohio State or Washington even that they're going to have
a better team oftentimes than the team they're playing. That's
not the way it is in the NFL. Honestly, you
(44:19):
know you're going to go against really good people all
the time, and so that's that's a that's an adjustment.
The second thing is you have to the player. The
young man has to listen to you. He has to
believe your help trying to help him and those types
of things, and it takes a while. I said, even
with all the guys I had, and I had a
lot of great players, that it would take a couple
(44:41):
of years for them to really click in, you know,
really saying okay, I got you, and I understand. It's
it's a complicated game at times, particular that position, and
so sometimes it just takes time. And then the organization
has to be patient. You know, if you want to
insert him right away and think he's going to just
go lights out like that right away, and win games
every game for you, it's not going to happen, and
(45:03):
so the owner ownership has to understand that. Everyone has
to understand that.
Speaker 2 (45:08):
It just sounds like it's really beneficial if a guy
can sit behind and watch for a year, and especially
if you're watching, and it probably depends on who you're watching, right,
But if you can't have a veteran in the room
that you can learn from, maybe, I guess in a
sense red shirt in turn, how do you want to
call it?
Speaker 5 (45:22):
Right?
Speaker 2 (45:22):
That just can can lead a guy along the way.
Speaker 7 (45:25):
Yeah, that would help, now, I I you know, I've
I've gone both ways on that. I think. Yeah, a
guy can learn faster, in my opinion, if he can play,
if he can be out there and playing as long
as he doesn't get wiped out and hurt and it
all the time, and if he's with the right group
(45:46):
of people and he can look U pretty Y's a example,
you know, of going into a situation that was just
made for him and it worked, and that that's better,
I think than just watching and listening. But that's hard
to do. It's hard to find.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
It's funny too, because as you're saying that, the first
thing that comes to mind with Rock Purty. He played
at Iowa State and they had success, like they had success,
but they weren't a you know, a top ten, top five,
even top fifteen team. They probably were ranked off and on.
I remember who played them? My school played Just when
was that that? When did they play Iowa State in
the in the bowl game? Was that like twenty.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
Eighteen or nineteen?
Speaker 2 (46:22):
Yeah? And party was good. It was his freshman year,
if I'm not mistaken, he was good. But like he
like what you said, Mike, he never maybe had the
best talent around him. He probably had to be challenged
on a weekly basis, right as opposed to you come
out of some of these schools. You mentioned it, you're
the best guy out there. Everyone around you is better
than anybody else. And you say, like so, well, the
NFL doesn't. That's not the case. Everyone's too close, right.
Speaker 7 (46:44):
That's right, That's exactly right. Yeah, and then you you know,
but and the hey, I asked to understand that you're
going to go to a growing period. The owner has
to understand it. I think it's hard. You take a
team like, well, who's been drafting quarterbacks? You know, the
Jets have been drafting quarterbacks up high for a few
years you have They're right, Carolina, you get different teams
(47:05):
that just I think ownership is a little they're not
willing to wait. And I remember Paul Allen coming up
to me and asking me, here, Mike, when are we
gonna start winning? When are we gonna start winning?
Speaker 5 (47:19):
You know?
Speaker 7 (47:19):
And we won a few games our first year, but
I said, and I told him, I said, it'll be
two years we really hit it. And he looked at
me kind of funny, and he said, okay, uh, you know,
but that's when the things change started changing just a
little bit. But that was about right now we started
getting to be good and and then it and then
we took off.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
Okay, So when you said two years, were you just saying, yeah,
I guess that buys me twenty four months? What was
what was the thought there?
Speaker 7 (47:46):
No, I didn't, you know what, I had signed a
long term deal. But I was, I was really you know,
I was really talking. I was talking about Matt Yes,
you know it was. I said, you know, he's good.
Now he's going to be our player. But you're waiting, wait,
wait until two years, and then you're going to see
something special. Right, that's what happened.
Speaker 2 (48:03):
Yeah, and that's and that's and there's no doubt and
that was a key, right, like getting Brett there, getting
Matt here, finding that guy along the way, my Conrad
joining us as he does every Wednesday at two o'clock
here on the Beacon Plumbing hotline. All right, Mike. Uh,
Trevor Lawrence. That brings me to Trevor Lawrence. I pulled
a softy today.
Speaker 5 (48:19):
You like this.
Speaker 2 (48:19):
I pulled a softy today.
Speaker 7 (48:21):
I was on it.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
I was on a show down in the No it
was He'd be proud. I was on a show in Jacksonville.
These guys called me. I met him, I think maybe
a couple of years ago when I went twenty seventeen.
I went down and covered the game down there. And
so I was on with these guys today and and
it was a cordial conversation, Mike, very cordial. Don't worry.
I didn't use your name. I just but I was, yeah,
very cordial conversation. I was al with some guy named
(48:42):
fat Tony and some other guy and uh, and it
was all nice and fine. At the end, they said,
what do you think the difference is going to be
on Sunday, Like, what's what's the difference between these two
teams and the difference on Sunday? I said, oh, Sam,
Darl's better than your guy. He's better in Trevor Lawrence period.
End of story. Well, like I might as well insulted
their mom, their daughter, their wife, their child, I mean everything.
Like it was like I might as well have done
(49:04):
all of that because they lost their mind. But I'm
looking here at Trevor Lawrence and Mike. You remember when
he was coming out of college. I you know, he
was the guy that was going to be the transcending quarterback. Nothing,
He's gonna be the greatest of all time. He's coming
off a great win on Monday against the Chiefs in
which he got stepped on feil down and scrambled athletically.
Nice play gets into the end zone, right, So it's
(49:25):
all good. So I bring that up for this reason.
I'm looking at Lawrence's numbers, right, and as I look
at his numbers, he is no better than he's twenty fifth,
twenty seventh, like in key Stats eighteenth fourteenth. They're having
a great year, But I don't think it's because of
Trevor Lawrence. But you watch this guy. There's a lot there, right,
there's a lot there to like, but it just hasn't
(49:46):
translated yet.
Speaker 7 (49:48):
You know what, I would agree with you. I'm not
sure I would have said that on no day.
Speaker 2 (49:53):
You're much nicer. You're much nicer than you would have
done that.
Speaker 7 (49:56):
No, but he you know, well, the thing is that
you talk about expectation. A young guy comes out of college,
he's lights out, he's everything okay, and he's going to
immediately flip things around. Well, things have to be good
in other areas too for that to happen, So give
him time.
Speaker 5 (50:13):
Now.
Speaker 7 (50:14):
I've always thought he's had time. You know, it should
be he should be hitting it now in his stride.
It should be all good. If the general manager and
is doing the right things as far as drafting and
all that kind of stuff. Yeah, and that's a big
part of it. Okay, But you know, Doug Peterson was
a coach there. I had Doug as a player. He
(50:34):
was a great coach and the Super Bowl won a
Super Bowl, you know if and he's a quarterback, and
that was the I thought that was the perfect place,
you know, for that to work out. But for some
reason it didn't, I know, if injuries played a part
of it, I don't know. But now but now he's
having they're off to a great start, and maybe now
he hit it. Maybe now is the time everyone understands
(50:56):
what's going on and they're they've got a much better team.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
Good you know, listen, I was busting their chops today.
I hope it works out for them. I always feel
bad for Jacksonville. They play feels like half their home
schedule every year they play in Europe anyway, Like, yeah,
that's right, Hey, I don't know how committed they are,
but away we go, Mike congrad joining us. So the Seahawks.
That was weird on Sunday, that's I mean, if you're
just liking it, felt like Pac twelve after dark back
(51:21):
in the day, right, like last team to have the
ball was going to win. And that's kind of what happened.
They went back and forth. I got to think Mike
McDonald wasn't too pleased with what he saw from his defense.
Speaker 7 (51:30):
No, you know what, that's the first thing that pupped
into my mind too. You know, he's a defensive coach
he prides himself on. Then they've been playing good defense.
That's how they won games. Quite honestly, and then all
of a sudden they really couldn't stop Tampa. And I
thought in the game, I thought it would be low scoring.
I thought it'd be just kind of like those games
they had played before. And it wasn't anything like that.
(51:51):
Both teams, both teams has did great offensively in the
second half. But no, Mike cannot be happy. And he
kind of, you know, he's very controlled, it seems to me.
And his press conferences after the game, and he kind
of let off some steam a little bit, I thought,
and that was that was an indication to me that
(52:11):
he was not very happy.
Speaker 5 (52:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
He I was sitting in the press conference. First thing
he did. He came in there and he spent like
three or four minutes saying, hey, this is on me,
like and and he was, but I'll ask you this,
like you can have the I mean, lookten you you
were the godfather of the West Coast offense. Like you
your scheme, your scheme was second to none. You know
what's how how important scheming is, right? You know how
important all that is.
Speaker 5 (52:34):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (52:35):
I asked that with this like he's kind of you know,
I know, Hugh, you've talked to Hugh about it, and
you've watched him. I mean, he's this guy that's got
this great scheme, great defensive mind. But at some point
if you don't have you know, Dex's and knows Jimmy's
and Joe's. Right, if you don't have the guys, then
it's hard. And he doesn't have a lot of guys.
Right now, you take Witherspoon and love Out among others, right,
how do you how do you survive that?
Speaker 7 (52:56):
No, that's that's you're exactly right. Particularly it gets a
team that can do the other thing pretty well. You know,
they passed the ball pretty well, and you take, you know,
you learn that hard lesson you take you lose the
players and you can have a good scheme, but the
other players and they're smart guys and they're the next
man up and all that stuff, but really you need
(53:18):
you guys that stay healthy and play. And that was
a good example. You bring up a great example of
what happened. I think Sunday. I think you know, they
they they lost some really good talent on defense in particular,
and it affected them greatly.
Speaker 2 (53:33):
And it's now you have to go on the road
across country. They seem to have figured that part out,
but they still haven't figured out how to win at home.
I find that the most mind boggling thing, isn't it wild?
Speaker 7 (53:43):
No way? And you're right. I mean we've talked to
we talked about the last week, we talked about before.
But it was such an advantage I thought, and I say,
I'm rafeeting myself. I know, but you know, getting in
there and you're excited and the crowd's going, and it's
hard for the offense.
Speaker 5 (54:00):
You know.
Speaker 7 (54:01):
I had a quarterback from when we played Carolina in
the championship game there.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
It was long, loud, right, Delone went bananas in that game.
Speaker 7 (54:08):
That was yeah, and and Dolone dilom. I later had
Belan in Cleveland and we talked about that. He goes
that was that was crazy, you know, oh gee, And
and it helped us, it really did.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
I thought. I thought Sunday that, you know, being there,
I thought the crowd was fantastic, you know, and I
think they were getting.
Speaker 7 (54:26):
Red you know, yeah, it seemed like, yeah, they're getting.
Speaker 2 (54:29):
Revved up for the baseball game or something. It was
just like they were and there. You know, it's not
like Tampa doesn't travel like that's part of it too,
Like there wasn't a lot of fans there from Tampa,
so uh they if you were there, you were probably
a Seahawk fan. But it just it didn't it didn't help.
Baker just carved him up. And they're gonna have to
figure that out this week against Trevor Lawrence for sure. So, uh,
final thing for you, I just it's it's been great
(54:50):
having you on every day every week and all that.
I want to ask about the running game, and that
is something that seems to be a head scratcher. They
continue to split carries with sharbon A and Walker. Last week,
I think charbon A had like four less than Walker did.
Along the way, you and I have had this conversation before.
If you're sitting in a meeting and you know, you
go back in the day, you're not Mike Homber and
(55:11):
the head coach or the offensive coordinator, or you're just
a quarterbacks coach, what's your suggestion to the OC or
the head coach. Because it feels like every week we
have this conversation, Walker seems to need to get more touches.
Speaker 7 (55:25):
Yeah, I know, I know it's very puzzling right now
because I think he can give you the most. I
like sharbon Ay, I really do. And he's the stintsive
runner and he's made great first downs and he's made touchdowns.
But what if you believe Walker is the guy and
(55:45):
I believe he is, let him carry the majority of
the carries and bring Charbonday on occasion when he gets tired,
you know. And the idea of bringing in the other
I think, I'd say, is the idea of bringing in
the quarterback to run a play. He's what is he
run three plays?
Speaker 5 (55:59):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (55:59):
Okay? I want to get to that. Yeah, so he
said today they have Mike, he said today, Mike McGall
said today in the press conference that they have more
for him and they need to do a better job
of utilizing that instead of just once a game. What
would you say to that, Well, I'd.
Speaker 7 (56:12):
Say, no, wait, wait a second, let's talk let's deal
with their running back thing first. Yes, we're talking about
we're gonna give Walker more carries or what are we
you know, let's just decide if that's the offense they
want to run and if they pushed it. You know,
they pushed it. They've talked about it so much and
right now it's not working. The way they I know,
(56:32):
they think it could work or want it to work.
And I think they got to let Walker carry them
ball more.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
And Milroe, what do you do with him? Just let
them let him watch, you know, I mean, just redshirt,
like let's just let's yeah, you know.
Speaker 7 (56:48):
And then I said, but you know, look at it.
He's I think he said three plays in the four
games or something, and now you know they haven't worked
very well. No, you know, particularly then the thing was horrible.
So you know, it's it's just look, he's the third quarterback.
If you want to have something tricky in there, okay,
(57:10):
but then call it and it's you know, it's got
to work.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
You know, Jess.
Speaker 7 (57:15):
You know what I like? I like.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
I like when Mike gets a little a little reved
up here, like Dave Walker the ball.
Speaker 3 (57:21):
It's like it's like, don't don't let him know that.
Speaker 5 (57:24):
You know.
Speaker 2 (57:26):
I like it, like, let let Walker carry the ball,
Let's let Milroll watch from the sideline. Stop with this stuff,
you know, you.
Speaker 3 (57:32):
Know what, that's it, and don't approach you know what,
he's fired up.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
You know what Hugh calls that those mill Roll plays
Harry High School, that's what he likes. Yeah, it's Harry
High School. Let's stop with the harr High School stuff, right, Like, yeah, well.
Speaker 7 (57:45):
I'm glad you said that. It looks so bad, but.
Speaker 2 (57:49):
You know, I think you're always welcome. Great with having
you on again. I believe it will be softy tomorrow,
right probably?
Speaker 5 (57:56):
Uh? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (57:57):
Perfect? Okay, good, he's here? Gives me the thumbs up?
Speaker 5 (57:59):
Is he?
Speaker 7 (58:00):
Let me ask you? Is he in Jacksonville?
Speaker 5 (58:02):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (58:03):
Who's that softy?
Speaker 5 (58:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (58:05):
My god, my life would be so much better if
you was.
Speaker 2 (58:08):
I said, I was on the radio in Jacksonville today.
Speaker 7 (58:11):
That was what I got you.
Speaker 2 (58:12):
Yeah, but I pulled the soft Yeah yeah, I pulled
the softy and got him reveed up. I got him
repped up out of town. I usually don't do that,
but I was. I was feeling it this morning. They called.
It was really early. They called me, like at six
a m. And I was just like, all right, I'm
not in a good mood.
Speaker 5 (58:26):
So are you?
Speaker 7 (58:27):
Are you trying to explain yourself?
Speaker 5 (58:28):
Here?
Speaker 7 (58:29):
Are you? What you did?
Speaker 2 (58:31):
Pretty much?
Speaker 5 (58:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (58:32):
I think no, but you've always shot straight. You're good alone.
Speaker 5 (58:35):
No. I own it.
Speaker 2 (58:36):
I owned it. I owned it. I was fine. I
owned it. I have no problem with it. Hey, listen,
I don't think I'll be going to Jacksonville anytime soon,
so I think I should be safe. I should be okay,
So take care of my friend. Will listen for you
tomorrow with softy thank you. All right, but there that's
my culmbrim will take a break.
Speaker 5 (58:53):
From the R and R.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
All right, thanks to Mike Holmgren for poping on. We
appreciate him.
Speaker 3 (59:15):
Let's coach is the best?
Speaker 2 (59:18):
Coach is the best?
Speaker 6 (59:20):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (59:22):
Keith, I got your text. I'm gonna read half of it.
You're a true pro mayor.
Speaker 3 (59:25):
Yes, I like what you qualified it with.
Speaker 2 (59:30):
Actually, you know what, I'm gonna read a couple of
these because because now it's over, it's now eight to three,
I'll read a couple of these.
Speaker 3 (59:37):
Oh I see.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
Okay, the six two six no stallage of ninety five
Mariner play, but manager play by Mariner's owners really paying
off this series for Detroit Wilson getting owned. I'm gonna
come in all these at the end. Three to six,
oh Dan Blank, Wilson is way over his head. Three
six oh Dan is lost in the sauce. Keith Miller,
of those segments for Live during the Mariner's meltdown, you're
(01:00:02):
a true pro mayor. Normally we ignore this stuff. It's
now eight to three and it has been an absolute
meltdown for the Americans. Now, Uh, Softy's gonna soft he'll
do and Chuck and Buck and all those guys sometime
after three will kind of break it all down. Because, yes, Keith,
I was talking to coach during the meltdown, so I
(01:00:23):
wasn't exactly sure what happened, except for one thing. I
think we're I think the second guessing of Dan Wilson
is going to happen again today. Bryce Miller low pitch
count led three to one. They go to the bullpen.
Spire's been just aces all year, and he gets lit up,
as does Bizarre. I mean, it just was it's that.
(01:00:46):
And I think that you, you know, Softy and are
talking in the break. If you managed strictly by numbers
and never feel and if you strictly managed by analytics,
it's it's maybe gonna cost you at some point, so
I know those guys will break it all down later.
But yeah, it feels for the five run deficit now
that it's pretty much over. So I'll let soft you
(01:01:07):
know all those texts that people are pissed off about
the pitching change and when it happened. I'm sure my
friend will there's more coming in. Yes, that will be
addressed during the postgame extravaganza starting at three o'clock with
the fellas. All right, so we'll get to all of that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
Then that'll all happen.
Speaker 2 (01:01:28):
Dan is lost in the sauce. I think that's an
underrated term.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
In the sauce is a pretty good one. Yeah, I
like it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
Listen, Dan Wilson is the smartest guy in the world
on Sunday, and today people think he's the dumbest man
on the planet. Sometimes the players also have to execute
a little bit. But I would think we all can
question that Bryce Miller was looking great. I don't get it.
I don't get it, but baseball guy will tell me different.
That's why he'll come on later. Let's get a little uh,
(01:01:57):
why are.
Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
You laughing because you left it's it's it's contagious.
Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
It's all true, and I know no shortage of text
people want to react to the game. No shortage of
texts coming in at four nine, four or five on.
And let's get the factor fix of course that to
go glad you're with us.
Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's Factor Fiction, probably presented

Speaker 2 (01:02:36):
That's when McIntyre I need to rally. I do feel
good so far this week about a couple of my
picks or my first.
Speaker 3 (01:02:45):
Pick, don't we always though?
Speaker 5 (01:02:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:02:47):
You know what, I listen to a great podcast. College
football podcast has a lot of gambling elements to it,
and those guys every week they kind of recap what
they do and like you would you redo it again?
There's very few that like last week, very few redo
like I would. I would go back to the Rams
one all over again. I thought that was a great pick,
Rams over two. I take the Bucks minus two and
(01:03:08):
a half against the forty nine ers this week on Monday.
In my pick, there's a lot of picks i'd really like.
I've liked my picks. I've just been absolutely garbage with
those picks. I like this pick too. But you know
why I like this pick because the number came down
one and two. Our guy Stuart Mandel and both of
his guys on his podcast liked it as well. I
(01:03:31):
already liked it. I liked it when the number was higher.
I love it right now. Love with a capital L.
Indiana is going to Oregon on Saturday. That's in Eugene.
You ever been there Eugene me.
Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
I know you have, I've driven there.
Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
Indiana's ranked number seven in the country. Oregon is ranked
number three in the country. As as we had Stuart
on earlier, Suart Mandel and I said, is there a
separate It feels like it's one, two, and three in
whatever order, Ohio, State, Miami, Oregon. You want to have
it a little bit of a drop off after that,
but Indiana's right there in the top ten. Absolutely annihilated
Illinois a couple of weeks ago. The original line that
(01:04:14):
I saw earlier was eight and a half. It's dropped
Moregon minus seven and a half, and I love that line.
I'm going Ducks minus seven and a half at home
against the Woooures of Indiana Ducks minus seven and a half.
Fact four nine four or five one.
Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
It definitely a word be wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
No, I like when Oregon wins. I like when Orgon wins.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
You know why, because you Joe hates it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
Okay, it's a.
Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Very easy.
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Enemy of my enemy.
Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
I don't hate Oregon.
Speaker 5 (01:04:48):
They do.
Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
You can hate them. I don't hate them. They're my friends.
You have a lot of friend don't you have, Like
some people that like you're friends with somebody, but they
like they don't like somebody, but you are okay with
that person.
Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
Oh yeah, that's most of my because I like most people.
Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
Well, girls do that all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:05:03):
Someone hates that's all girl. It's a whole thing.
Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
That's what it is. Washington doesn't like Oregon doesn't mean
I don't like Oregon. I kind of like Oregon.
Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
Yeah, they're not in our group.
Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
Chat. No, I like it is that you know you
don't like the group chat analogy? I like that one.
Thank you, So yes. Oregon minus seven and a half
at home Eugene against Indiana Fact four nine four or
five one. If you disagree fiction four nine four or
five to one. What are we doing here? We're trying
to win one thousand dollars weekly prize, ten thousand dollars
grand prize. How do you do that? Will you text
(01:05:34):
factor fiction right now? It's all courtesy of our good
friends at the Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel. We should
tell you right now, Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel. We're
going twenty four every Friday and Saturday. Twenty four hour
gaming starts November seventh at Lucky Eagle dot com. Again.
Duckies minus seven and a half fact four nine four
(01:05:55):
five one.
Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
Duckies say, let's stick with that.
Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
Quick, quick and stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:06:00):
I like that. I like that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
Got Indiana it's not even a basketball school anymore. They
went to spend like zillion dollars last year under basketball
roster at all for not a nothing zero zilt.
Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
Underrated movie by the way, it's a classic.
Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
Is it underrated? I don't know if it's underrated.
Speaker 4 (01:06:14):
Well, I feel like it's unrecognized at this point, you know,
like it's a our era.
Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
Yeah, great movie though, Yeah, there'll be a reference for
it coming up here in about five minutes time. I
guarantee again once again trying to win one thousand dollars
week we prize ten thousand dollar grand prize. The only
way to win ten thousand dollars, by the way, is
to play early and often, four times a day. Seven
thirty five, eleven thirty five, two thirty five. Softy and
Fame without Jackson will do it again today at two
thirty five. Should mention, by the way that this week
(01:06:43):
limited opportunities because on Friday, I don't have a pick.
Softy doesn't have a pick because Husky Hawks starts at
two o'clock, So no pick at two thirty five or
three thirty five coming up on Friday before though Rutgers
game against the University of Washington, did you eh in churs?
I'm sorry, so how did I say it? Churis curse?
Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
It's like krubarb.
Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
Unfortunately it does appear. Hopefully if you're a Husky fan.
I think if you're a Husky fan, by the way,
you just turn to a Yankee fan today because you
want that game to be playing. Yeah, because if the Yankees,
if the Jays win tonight, then the Mariner games later
on about head to head with the Huskies, I think
a good point so you want that to happen. Okay,
And by the way, it's not looking good in Detroit.
Courtesy of our text line four nine four or five
(01:07:28):
one factor fiction brought to you by the Lucky Eagle
Casino and Hotel. Will take a break, come back check
in with Softy next. Just want to say, right now
I want you to have with your finger on the
(01:07:49):
dump button because my guy is none too pleased right now.
Speaker 8 (01:07:52):
No, I'm just I'm bummed out, man. You know I'm
bummed out. You know, I mean, I uh, I don't know,
I uh. You're sitting there in the fifth inning, thinking, boy,
this is going well, this is going very very well.
Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
For people that are just too Mariner's trailing eighty three,
they're going to well, Detroit's hitting in the eys. Just
having a freaking meltdown, man, absolute meltdown. You have a
three nothing lead against a team that has done nothing offensively.
And if you're a Mariner fan, you're watching listening. If
you're me and you're faking your way through a radio
show watching it, you're thinking yourself. You're thinking about the Alcs,
(01:08:27):
you're thinking about the Blue Jays and the Yankees. This
Detroit team can't hit. Dan Wilson makes a move that
will yet again be asked and scrutinized about because he
takes out how many pitches with price failer fifty five?
And after that it has gone straight down, totally south.
Speaker 8 (01:08:44):
I mean, this is train wreck city, right off a cliff,
exploding body parts, whatever you want, all over the bottom
of the gully.
Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
It's not pretty. It was terrible.
Speaker 8 (01:08:54):
I mean it was Bizardo's worst outing and fires worst
outing in a month. I mean, going back to that
game in Atlanta where he gave up three runs without
getting it out and got yanked. And then Bizardo against
the White Sox in August three, earned a couple of
bombs against Chicago again. They actually won shockingly eight to six,
by the way, and kind of picked up the bullpen
(01:09:14):
that day.
Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
I think they may have had a big lead and
the bullpen gave up some slop late in the game.
Speaker 8 (01:09:18):
But yeah, I mean, I don't I'm not sitting here
at least this second, and I mean I'm curious to
hear what everybody else thinks, and I you know, could
be convinced to change my mind, But I'm not overly
angry at Dan Wilson for the move to pull Bryce Miller.
I mean, if you're telling me that Bryce Miller does
what he does and you're bringing in maybe your best
reliever besides on Dress Munnos to shut down a not
(01:09:40):
very good offense, I'd say, where do I sign?
Speaker 5 (01:09:42):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
They just picked like you said, man, the guy just
picked an awful day to have.
Speaker 8 (01:09:47):
A terrible, terrible, terrible performance and now without a miracle
comeback here. And we're three outs away, by the way,
because it's the bottom of the eighth, we're talking about
having to beat Tarrek Scooble four times in one year.
Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
Before we get to that. Let's go get him beat
before that. At some point, and again this is baseball.
Guy needs to answer this, and probably only one guy
couldn't be gave Spire, but using him at some point
I don't think so.
Speaker 8 (01:10:12):
Question well, the only the only thing that would come
up for me is is this just first of all,
you mentioned it Brian Wo's injury, or Andrews mentioned it,
somebody did, And this is an offshoot of Brian Wo's injury,
right where you'd have a Bryce Miller available in the
bullpen and maybe Brian Wu pitching a game like this
or everybody else if he had been healthy, gets pushed
back a day. Obviously, that's number one, and then number two.
(01:10:35):
This is exactly why a lot of us at the
deadline were begging for another reliever to go out and
get a Johann Durant or somebody in addition to Caleb Ferguson,
who they did not get. And Caleb Ferguson obviously, yesterday
was terrible. I mean, the game was over and and
thank god they were able to, you know, withstand it.
But then they really, let's face it, they really did
(01:10:55):
not do anything of significance to help out their bullpen
of the dead line.
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
Nothing. Lots of text coming in at fournine four to
five one. I'm sure you'll take a glance at those later.
I don't know if you want to do talk backs
on your show coming up at three o'clock. I'm sure people.
Speaker 8 (01:11:07):
Ready, we're gonna take some calls. We got Chuck and
Bucker in Chuck and Bucker in Detroit. We'll have Bucky
on as soon as the game's over. And then Chuck's
gonna do you know, the lord's work and go to
the clubhouse, which, let me tell you, something man, there
is no worst place in the world than a Major
League Baseball clubhouse after a loss like this.
Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
No, I take that back. The only worst place would
be in.
Speaker 8 (01:11:33):
An elimination game when they're done, because I remember being
in the Yankee Stadium visiting clubhouse after game number four
of the two thousand and one ALCS Mariners had fallen
behind three to one. That's the day where Brett Boone
hit that pop fly home run over Chuck mob Block's
head and left field panela.
Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
After game two they're down oh two, says we're gonna.
Speaker 8 (01:11:54):
Bring up back here for Game six blah blah blah,
and they hammer him in Game three, and then Boone
hits the home run on the eighth inning. I'm thinking,
I'm sitting there with Neil Scott in the auxiliary press
box and left field that son of a bitch.
Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
Is gonna be right. They're gonna bring it. They're gonna bring.
Speaker 8 (01:12:08):
Them five six outs away. And I think it was Soriano.
I think it may have been Bernie Williams. I don't
remember who it was. Mike Cameron climbing the outfield wall
like Spider Man to try and bring that thing back,
and then being in that clubhouse, you could tell the
players were just dejected so that they knew they were done. Okay,
so down three to one, this is a different story.
(01:12:28):
But how do they bounce back from being tied when
they felt like they should have been getting ready for.
Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
Toronto or New York and who they have to face
on Friday? Right right?
Speaker 8 (01:12:38):
See, and for a fourth time. You gotta beat him
for fourth time. But you know what, you don't have
to beat him by yourself with your offense. He doesn't
have to look bad to lose the game. He did
not look terrible in game number one. Your offense, Yeah, sorry,
Your offense was the reason why that was a tight game. Okay,
So how about George Kirby just pitch your balls off.
(01:13:03):
Pitch your balls off, go do your thing. The bullpen
bounces back from a terrible performance today. I mean, if
I told you before the season started game five at
home for the right to go to the ALCS, you'll
probably take it.
Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
You'll probably sign up. Said, are you telling me they
won the division?
Speaker 6 (01:13:19):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
And of the two seats, And I guess I get it.
Speaker 8 (01:13:21):
Context changes because in that context, you don't know they're
leading three nothing in the fifth inning of Game four
of the Alds. So it's a gut punch for now,
but I could have readen a nice script years aw.
I'm just I'm just bummed out, man. I I I
honestly started to believe. And it's my own stupid ass
fault as a Mariner fan for letting myself believe this.
(01:13:44):
I thought at about one o'clock, one forty whatever this
afternoon that we were going to be doing something pretty
special on the show today, and it all fell apart.
I messed with the sports guys. It might be me,
I told, and those guys out there three nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
I see. They're not scoring four runs, right, this team,
this team is incapable of scoring four runs. I'm right.
Speaker 8 (01:14:05):
They scored eight, right, so right, yeah, right, double them up.
Maybe they blew their wad today, who knows. So Bucky
from Detroit, Bucky's gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
Be on Chuck Go Beyond.
Speaker 8 (01:14:14):
We'll get a bunch of audio obviously, phone calls. Yeah,
we'll do some phone calls. We won't do him for
a while. We gotta we gotta sift through some stuff
here on the radio program. And then Kevin Harlan's coming up,
Petro's coming up. I honestly don't know if we'll have
time to do Florio today. We may have to push
him back the next week, but we will do Kevin
Harlan at Dad five.
Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
Well, we were gonna be here for a celebration. We'll
be here to vents and maybe celebrate on Friday and stuff.
All right, all right, we know Friday will be on
the air for the Dogs. We gotta got two o'clock pregame.
Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
L Yeah, sure, Friday.
Speaker 8 (01:14:45):
May have to go and uh go into Tony casher
Cones booth and push him aside to start talking some baseball.
Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
Wow touchdown? What the hell of a Friday co I'd
love to do that. I would love and you know
what he would allow us to do it to he
it allowed, Well, you would just pull your way in there.
Speaker 8 (01:15:03):
Allow it for the mild mannered and marginally objectionable Inverness
this paddle day saying so long, everyone come back.
Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
