Speaker 1 (00:00):
How are you. It's good, I'm good. Ayan. My friend
jezs feeling a little under the weather day. Hopefully she
feels better tomorrow, yes, or as week goes on. Not
a fun week to not feel good, So hopefully she's
doing better as week moves on. But it's the two
of us today. We got a little koog talk coming
up our round table. MK and Alex will join us
coming up at one twenty today. I'm going to spend
some time talking bigger picture things as well. Portal's gonna
(00:21):
be interesting for everyone across the country. Purple Sheet made
an interesting point. If there's truly a salary cap in Nil,
will that change things? But we'll discuss all that stuff.
College football at one twenty one, forty five Daily Power
played the one's going to join us at two pm today.
We'll talk to John about last night's game, the forty
nine ers and what's going on with them. By the way,
(00:42):
that thing, man, I don't know if that do I
don't know. I'm really not sure if it could have
been worse. Rock party. Oh yeah, so we'll get to
that better. Like right now. See, I'm gonna ask John
that again. He'll give me the answer of no blah
blah blah. I just I think in the Shanahan offense,
(01:02):
I wonder I guess the question would be, can you
make the argument in the Shanahan offense does it really matter,
like if you just have a guy that if you
haven't know, if you have a guy that's that's adequate, good,
well above at whatever, elevate them? Can he elevate them?
Because the pretty picks were just awfully yesterday. They were bad.
They were bad, and ma'am jays you know, and you
(01:24):
and others have scared us by saying, can you imagine
if they had Warner in Bosa no, or if I
Yuke wasn't a weirdo and decides he doesn't want to
play anymore whatever else is going on with him? Right,
So yeah, I don't know. It's an interesting deal, man,
interesting deal. I'm glad. It also speaks volumes watching that
game last night, all joking aside about the forty nine ers,
(01:44):
it speaks volumes about how good this division is. Absolutely
it is, I mean one through three and right now
it's Rams Seahawks forty nine ers one through three. If
everyone was one hundred percent healthy and really, the Rams
have probably had the best health luck this year. Nakua
banged up a little bit, but I mean they have
Davante and it's fine. Stafford's Stafford's back, all those things
(02:06):
like like if you, if you just they've been probably
the best in terms of injuries. Seattle has a bunch
of guys hurt. I don't know if it's really cost
them a game, but they got guys banged up in
the four and Niners are really beat up, and that's
kind of how the order is in the standings. But
all three of those teams are probably playoff teams.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
I do wonder in this I've been thinking about this
lately with the Seahawks, specifically, how much of what the
positive feelings we have towards them are based off a
very favorable schedule for the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Yes, okay, now keep this in mind, though it was
not before the season started, a favorable schedule in the
sense of they had the second place schedule from the division. Yeah,
so you had to play some teams. Washington's a great example, Yeah, right,
and and so, but you don't know how those teams
(02:58):
are going to be right the start of the year,
I was thinking, this thing's kind of a nightmare, right,
and obviously it hasn't you know, Atlanta, we didn't know
they'd fall as far as they have with all their issues,
but they have. I mean, that's that should be a
gimme Carolina. You know your burg Pittsburgh. I mean, Pittsburgh's
a playoff team. Last year, Houston's a playoff team. Yeah,
(03:18):
I mean you didn't know, like, right, and so I yeah,
I mean I get what you're saying. Yeah, the NFL
schedule is the weirdest thing ever because schedule rule that
we played every year when it comes out. Yeah, we
look at it, we debate it, we talked about it, right,
and I always come up with the sam I'm usually
around eleven and five, ten and six over Mike, I said,
be now eleven and six and ten and seven. But
(03:39):
but yeah, it's it's based on how you know, It's
based on a who you play. So this year, the
NFC West is playing the AFC South, right, so you've
got that, and then then you have the crossover games
based on your finish in the division last year. Well,
so you draw Washington again. They won the damn division
last year, right, I mean, I'll go Dan Lanning said
(04:04):
it well, like I'm paraphrasing, but his in between making
fun of the SEC playing Channtanooga State and his postgame
press conference the other day with after the USC game,
he said it, well, like, yeah, there's teams that aren't
ranked anymore. But part of that is your fault, as Oregon,
because you beat him. Part of that, like Washington's season
was hanging on the balance. Seattle went in there and
(04:26):
smashed him. That kind of ended any hope they had.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Right.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Jacksonville's okay, right, Jacksonville's okay, Houston's good. Yeah, I mean
they're fine. Yeah, And so part of it is you
got to look at the standings and go, okay, you know,
I'm just look at the conference.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Their their losses are part in due because they lost
to you so badly.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Jacksonville seven and four. Take the Seattle game out. There's
seven and three. Okay, that's a good win. Houston six
and five on the outside looking him by half a
game in the AFC, But again take a Seattle loss
out of there. See four, they beat Buffalo too. Hasn't
he Houston play They've played the rams and stuff out,
they've played on they played it. I think they pretty
much our division already, right, yeah, that's why that's as
(05:07):
Lanning said, Yeah, we can't control those like you want
to win those games. But then all you're not playing anybody. Well, no,
it's it's that's what happened right along the way.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
And then Tennessee's just awful at one and tent but
everyone in the division's playing them. So somebody's playing the
Giants at two and ten. And in the in the NFC,
you know New Orleans is two and nine. Yeah, that
was an easy one. You know, New Orleans, Washington, Arizona's
in your division. Can't anything about that. You'll you'll should
be there, Minnesota, there'll be four and eight. That was
a division winner last year or a wildcard team last year.
So all right, real quick, we're going to get to
(05:39):
this coming up at two thirty today. We will definitely
save some money some time before Factor Fiction Andrews has
a pick today. We did a very important debate yesterday
on the radio show When do you eat Dinner on Thanksgiving?
As I mentioned, and I don't like doing these Twitter things,
but I did it anyway. It's critical to the day's success.
(05:59):
So when is the optimum time? I'm not going to
give you the final results yet, but I want you
guys to text in four nine four or five one,
or if you like, send us a talkback. What's the process?
I gave you four options noon to two, two to four,
four to five or five PM or later. So when
(06:20):
is the optimum time to eat on Thanksgiving? It is
a critical critical thing in my I grew up and
when I was at my parents, we usually ate late.
And I say late, I mean we'd eat like six
seven and so forth. That's now that Now that we're
in my other world, in the Maple Valley world, not
(06:41):
the Magnolia world. It's a little different, but it's a
debate every year, we'll talk about that. That's probably the
most important thing we'll do today. So you can send
us a talkback or the red microphone and iHeartRadio app
if you want, or send us a text at four
nine four or five one. That's four nine four or
five one. It's still an unrestricted free agent. Text line
four nine four or five one. Let's talk to Alex
and MK. Coming up. It's time to talk.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
All right, here we go. Time to check in. Second
to last visit. Well, we'll do something maybe polseason because
I'm very confident this week. Come on, man, that's a
great We have to have some confidence. We have to
have some confidence. Alex Break MK and Crystal brus are here.
We uh looking ahead to the I don't know rivalry
game against Oregon State on Saturday, but uh final game,
(08:12):
final game of the regular season.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
UH.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
To get things going, let's just quickly look back at
last week and and uh and Alex It was close
at JMU. Good game, just fell a little bit short.
Some thoughts from uh on the scene there in the
press box.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
Yeah, I mean it was a you know, good football
game and the two pretty good football teams. And I
think James Naisen's solid team. They're definitely not a team
that you can you know, that you can give opportunities to.
And and when you look back on it, I think
Washington State had a couple opportunities, you know, particularly offensively
where they could have kind of taken a hold.
Speaker 6 (08:44):
Of the game.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
And and similar to that Oregon State game a few
weeks ago, right, it just at some point they were
going to break through on the defense, no matter how
good the the Washington State defense is, Right, I think
a lot has been asked the Vaccouver defense all year.
And really there's a couple sequences, right, Couger defense gets
an interception right out of the gate and Coub's only
get a field goal, like they got to score. They's
(09:05):
got to score touchdowns when you get an interception near
the red zone. And then the big sequence Tomi Rodgers
talked about out of a half where James Madison goes
down seventeen to ten, they drive down eight minute drive.
Cook's got to stop on fourth and one and then
get a first down by on offense coming out of it,
flip the field with a punt. You feel like you're
in a pretty good spot, have a lot of momentum,
(09:26):
and the defense gives up a big play right for
a sixty seventy yard touchdown or whatever it was.
Speaker 6 (09:32):
And I felt like that.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
That sequence of events really really changed the complexion of
the game, and it was just hard for Washington State
to recover when they weren't playing great offensively.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
Yeah, and that's been the hardest thing, is putting up
points and asking an offensive put up points and you know,
you got to pick six. You weren't really planning on
right that we've seen there. And I think the hardest thing, too,
is is all of us have looked and seen how
Zev is such a huge dynamic player when he wants
to be. But we talked about the plus minus game,
and he'll do something really great like his touchdown run,
(10:02):
Like that got me juiced up, Like I'm in the
I'm at the Kugu bar and everybody's jumping around like this,
what we need a momentum changer. And then the plus
minus been coming down and you know, having some crazy throws.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yeah, I mean it's kind of like a damned if
you do, damn if you don't, you're gonna get you
know what the Szemi ex House experience is that you're
gonna get something like it's a Katy Perry experience. You're
hot in your bulb. It's like flying your single engine
plane and all of a sudden the ice comes. You
got emergency land it, you know, I mean Alex, he
and I can't relate to that, but you know some
(10:36):
people can't. Like so yeah, I mean one person, one person,
like like when do you know, like when do you
know not to throw? And when do you know when
to land the plane? That's what I want to know.
Are they the same thing?
Speaker 3 (10:47):
MK?
Speaker 6 (10:48):
I would hope. So when you see dangers that don't
throw it?
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Uh. If Chris Bruce Alex Brinks joining us, you know,
I'm gonna say and we'll talk about this when whenever
we wrap up the season, hopefully it's after a bowl game.
But I just you know, one of the things about this,
I feel good about the program in general. I feel
good about jim Where Jimmy is. I think we should. Hell,
I'll tell you this, I feel a hell of a
lot better than I do about our basketball team that
(11:17):
almost lost to a D two school last whoa buddy.
They were down seventeen, then up twenty and had to
win by four. My god, David Robby, what are we
doing anyway? I feel good about this football team overall.
The defense, and MK, I'll let you start here. This
is what's cool. Scoring defense. NCAA ranks thirty seven, forty nine,
(11:40):
fifteen total defense nineteen per game, sacks seventieth. Still, you know,
it's all right, tackles for loss. I mean that's the
only really the sacks the only one that they're outside
of the top fifty in terms of fifty eight I
guess from third down percentage. But still you rank that
that's still in the top upper fifty percent. Defense. We're
seeing this defense and they've lost dudes all year, MK,
(12:00):
we got to feel bit about this defense.
Speaker 7 (12:02):
And we're gonna lose. You know, we'll lose Frances I
think of McKenna as well. But I think here's the
craziest thing is defensively, as far as the defensive line
go goes, we haven't been super dominant as far as
getting to the quarterback, and still that defense is what
it is, it's it's absolutely carried Washington State this whole year.
So if you think about coach getting out there and
getting some juco transfers, maybe some bigger bodies that can
(12:24):
play right now, I think that'll be a huge momentum
game changer for us. And then really what Washington State
is missing as a field general at quarterback. I think
if they really focus on getting some money to have
that position right there, we're going to see a totally
different team. And that's been the difference maker this whole year.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Let me let me get to the offense of the quarterback.
Let's go back to the defense. Alexis with you. You're
watching that defense. What is it about Jimmy's scheme here
in Seattle? We're saying the praises right now, and MK
knows this about Mike McDonald and that Seahawk defense, and
they've they've had guys in and out and heard all
year and what but the but the guy running the defense.
I think sometimes we forget about this, the guy running
(13:01):
the defense. And I know he's not the defensive cordner Jimmy,
but he's a defensive coach, right, Bob, it's running the show.
But it's the two of them. You know, we've with
with bodies, Alex coming in and out of the lineup,
banged up, missing their top pass rusher for a couple
of games in Terrell and and everything else. They what
is it about that defense that your quarterback guys see
on a week to week basis. Yeah, there's I.
Speaker 6 (13:22):
Mean, there's a couple of things.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
I mean schematically, and Jimmy had told me this back
in the spring when I asked them what the difference
in kind of his four to two five was to
say Jake Dickard or Jeff Schmedding's four two five, And
his point was that at the defensive line, they're not
quite as attacking vertically, They're not really trying to get
sacks like I mean, they're trying to get sacks, but
that's not the main goal, which is why I think
you see sack numbers that are maybe down a little bit,
(13:44):
and the idea being that, uh, they're trying to kind
of take up space so that the second level players
like fran Sol McKenna, uh, you know, Sulivan Schlimden can
can really run and make plays right, and and that's
what you see, right, Like McKenna is the most active
player on the field next to France. All right, they're
making a ton of plays. The sack really the sack
came from Parker McKenna last last week right on the blitz.
(14:06):
Or you see Caleb France will making big plays off
the edge. So you know, I think that part makes
sense because it's going to be hard to consistently find
you know, pass rousers and de tackles that can really
make an impact. But as you've seen with all these injuries,
they've got enough bodies and enough talent to keep within
the scheme.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
And then it's.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
Easier to find fast linebackers and fast second level players
because you know, those guys are relatively a diamond doesn't
And so I think the fit as far as what
Washington State can recruit to and what they want to
be makes sense. And then the mentality is the last part, right,
Like very clearly Jesse Bobbitt and and you know with
coach Rogers, like, their mentality is they want guys that
play hard and play fast and there's no like, there's
(14:46):
no in between, right, even every guy that gets on
the field feels like they run and they hit and
they attack, and.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
How'd you like to play.
Speaker 7 (14:55):
Ears pinned back? And I fold with brink Is saying
it does actually make sense because we don't have them
money to go out and get a lot of those
guys that can absolutely terrorize and get to the quarterback.
So how you collectively as a defense circumvent that because
those guys that are attacking us and can get to
the quarterback, but they also lead big holes for quarterbacks
to run and do certain things. So your right, Brink,
(15:15):
I think, collectively to take the talent that you have,
that is the scheme that you're going to need to do.
So what Washington State needs to do right now is
figure out how do you get the money to close
the door for your guys like Isaac Tarrow and some
of the other guys that are here to keep them
at Washington State.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Well, you already had a linebacker, right Alex say that
he's not going anywhere, So, I mean, which helps. That
kind of helps. It feels as if maybe I'm wrong
and I want to get to the offensive a second,
but you know, I mean the defense is where this
thing is going to be built, right, This is where
it's going to be built from And when you know
in the early the late nineties, early two thousands with
Price and DoBeS and stuff like that, that's what they did,
(15:52):
didn't they. Like I mean, Alex, you were obviously a quarterback,
but MK, when they recruited you, you were a quarterback.
We joked about you were quarterback in high school. You're
playing for vallec run around being an athlete. That's kind
of what when Alex says dim, it doesn't. It's like
there's a million high school running backs out there, right,
and guys like that that have some speed, that are physical.
That's kind of what you have to get back to doing.
(16:12):
Is recruiting those dudes, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (16:14):
And I'll tell you this, And I also tell you
I think one of the best teams I've ever played
on was that Rose Bull team in two thousand and
two and then that Holiday Bowl two thousand and three.
Those guys, they weren't all big chipper guys like I
think coach Price, coach Doba coach. They had the ability
to sit down across from a player and sit down
and see what kind of intelligibles, like what kind of
(16:34):
person are you are? You gonna quit, Are you gonna
play hard? Are you going to bring whatever? That dog
they were able to sit down and figure that out
like a will dirty. No one knew he was gonna
be who he was in the Pac ten when he
played right, but they saw something in him. And I
think that's going to be the difference maker right now,
that that coach is going to get out there and do.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Yeah, I think what Ocelanu and I Isaac Brown, those
guys weren't they like five receivers or running backs or whatever?
Speaker 6 (16:58):
They were linebackers.
Speaker 7 (16:59):
And then and then ok, Winwood goes out and he
gets you know, eighteen sacks in the season or whatever.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
It was like, no one knew we'd keep that guy
for about a minute in this day and age. But
that's okay, fine to watch, Alex. Let's talk about the
offense heading into Oregon State, and it's the opposite of
the defense unfortunately, uh scoring one fourteen, rushing, one nineteen,
total offense one twenty one, et cetera. Not to go
through all the ugly numbers, but that's where that's where
(17:24):
we live in an a dan age. You know this.
You guys deal with me every week. Oh it's the
offensive coordinator's fault. It's this guy's fault, that guy's fault.
The offense is clearly, though, Alex behind the defense right
now as they build this program up, what are the
issues and where where must they be fixed?
Speaker 6 (17:41):
Yeah, and there's a couple of big structural issues, right.
Speaker 5 (17:43):
Like the defense has the advantage of being able to
bring you know, five players or more that were that
played for the coach at South Dakota State and ran
the scheme in our veterans. I mean, that's like there's
high value there, right. And on on offense, you have
a couple running backs and they're kind of the young
guys and the best one or the one that was
supposed to be the best isn't shown up in Angel Johnson. Right,
(18:04):
So you know, I think there's that you know, I
think at the you know, you've had some issues on
injuries at the offensive line.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
I think that's very real.
Speaker 5 (18:12):
And to in case point earlier, I think at the
quarterback position, you know, you probably don't quite have the
guy you need to really like make the difference for
sixty minutes. Again, you know, Zebbie ech als Is makes
It's a ton of plays, but the reason that you
probably didn't get the job out of camp. Is some
of the things you have seen along the way, right
pick six is you know, little loose with football, some
(18:33):
inconsistency along the way, you know, and then you know
Jackson Potter and Julian Dougger they're just they're they're young,
like they're.
Speaker 6 (18:40):
Just weren't quite ready. So those structurally, that's that's very real.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
I think, you know, for this offense, they're a recruiting
cycle or two away from you know, getting the guys
they need to be able to do it.
Speaker 6 (18:53):
I will tell you that's the scheme works.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
Like there the scheme like schematically the thing that the
stuff is good, right and you know, like how however
you want. You know, play calling is play calling is
very subjective, right, Like if a guy makes a play,
then we all say it's a great play.
Speaker 6 (19:09):
Whether it's a good play.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Cold or not, you know what I mean. So like
you know, but I will.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
Tell you this that that functionally the scheme is good
and it can win football games, especially with that defense.
And I think it all around everybody in the room,
coaches and players would say, man, we haven't been our
best at times, but I think it has the bones
once you get the players in of really being able
to do some things. And I think we're gonna find
out in the off season. Can they retain guys like
(19:35):
Kirby Vorhis and Maxwell Woods?
Speaker 6 (19:37):
Right? Can they retain guys like Aston Trip at left tackle? Right?
Can you keep some of these guys.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
To build a nucleus around and not have to go
right chase like a whole new set of players heading
in the next year.
Speaker 7 (19:49):
It's so funny to see like the realized, like, you know,
Danny needs to be fired. You know it's coordinated, and
it's so hard because he literally can drop be perfect
play and one play is out of a position cook
you know, But well.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
I think, I mean that's the thing. Listen, I'm as
knee jerk as any as any fan. You guys know that,
but like to stop it. But but like you to
build something, you can't just give an offensive coordinator one year.
And then on top of that, I mean we deal
with this every Monday with Seahawks. I mean, Clint Kubiak
is the smartest guy in the room one day, and
then all the armchair offensive coordinators on the next Monday
(20:25):
are like, what the Hell's Kubiak do and blah blah blah.
Because the Seahawks are similar in the sense. I mean,
they they got a they're better offense obviously, but the
defense kind of carries them. Uh so we hear that
all the time. I just think, you know, to me
what my eyes tell me, very untrained eyes. U the
offensive line, I mean that's been an issue the interior.
You can't run between the tackles at all. Ever, But
(20:45):
maybe that could you know that that's something that in
another recruiting cycle you're in the weight room, maybe there's
some young guys in the wings that you know, Like Alex,
you said you brought a bunch of offensive guys over.
The one stud you brought over Angel has just been
a zero. Like he hasn't made aim or he's runs hard.
Give me, I just think that's what it is like
where he's or Easton Woods are huge for the future, right, Alex.
(21:07):
I mean those guys are those two guys are massive.
Give me some more for He's man.
Speaker 5 (21:11):
I mean, both those guys are super important moving forward, right,
Carter PAVs, if you can keep him, I mean there's
you know, there's there's some good core young talent there
that that you know you can really win with. And
it appears again based on some of the freshmen that
you know, if you look at the athletes that Jimmy
Rogerson and his staff have recruited at at South DA
Coast State and brought to Washington State or the first
(21:32):
group of athletes that they've got to Washington State, it
feels like they can identify talents.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
And so that gives me hope.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
Like, that's it isn't that it We talked about what
dopes and those guys used to do. That's what it is.
It's identifying the kind of the under the radar guys,
like it's identifying the talent.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
Well, so your guys point before about all the defensive players.
I mean when I got to Washington State, right, Al
Jendntone was a high school running back turned lineback, all
All Pack linebacker. Will Dirney was a high school running
back turned All pack linebacker?
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Right?
Speaker 6 (21:58):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Who else?
Speaker 5 (21:59):
I David Scott, Davis, still Bennett like that was that
was the model. So like again, it's there is a
version of that that, like you guys are saying, makes
a lot of sense.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
And I will go to my grave saying this.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
There there's no less athletes out there to that want
to play college football. The talent is out there. You
just have to work a little harder to get it.
You have to work a little harder to retain it,
and you might have to do it, you know, quicker cycles,
like one or two year cycles instead.
Speaker 6 (22:25):
Of three or four year cycles.
Speaker 7 (22:26):
I want with though, telling you right now, I want
the guy with grit, the guy that's got the chip
on his shoulder, Like you big schools didn't pick me.
I'm going to watch the state. I'm making a name
for myself. That's the guy you want.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
That's where they've lived and breathed over the last few years.
And it's hard with coaching turnover and all that. Real
quick before we get to Oregon State, Alex and I
just noticed this yesterday. I was kind of looking at
before we did this thing today. So Jackson Potter hasn't
played since his third the third game in the start,
and there's a big part of me that a couple
of times like, can we see a little bit of
Jackson Potter? But are they just holding him out? They
(22:59):
don't want to hit him? Get to that fourth game?
Do you think is that where we're at with him.
Speaker 5 (23:03):
Uh No, Gary red shirted right last year all that,
I don't think that could be the case. I think
I think it's like once the two spaces out of
the tube with like the quarterback situation, it's kind of
like you don't want to like go you don't want
to go back and forth again. Like essentially, you know,
you took your run at it out of the first
three weeks, you know, when Jackson didn't quite work rolled
with Zebby. Zeby probably does give you the best chance
(23:25):
to win, even with inconsistencies. So you just kind of
ride it out.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
Maybe you get to a bowl game and see them more.
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (23:31):
I mean that just yeah, I think those conversations are
are possible.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Right, So let's get to that, Like, MK, how important
is it for this team to win that sixth game?
Coach Ake trying to give it to us again. We
can't have that happen.
Speaker 7 (23:43):
I mean, it's there there. It would be absolutely unacceptable
for Washington State to lose this game. They have to
get this game at home. I think the fourteen point
favorites right now, but Washington State has to get this
get another game, and that's another opportunity for Jimmy to
get you know, some more whatever with this team, right,
some more moxie, some more time with them. They take
(24:05):
that and they springboard in the next year. But we
have to get this game, Alex.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
How important is it to get to six wins, get
those practices, get that bowl game and just kind of
build something.
Speaker 6 (24:15):
Yeah, I mean I agree with him.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
Kay, I think you know, there's rarely do I get
on here and say like something has to happen, right
or or but like it has to happen all right, Washington,
say it's a better football team that we're gonna say,
They've got everything to play for. You're playing at home.
You know, by all rights you should have won the
first game, and you can see why you didn't. But
like there's really no excuses, right, And so I think, uh,
you know, it goes a long way in Jimmy Rodgers
(24:40):
year one and what it's gonna look like in year
two if they can go to a bowl game and
have that opportunity.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Is there still something Alex? Is the practices? Does that matter?
I mean, I know that's what coaches used to talk about.
Is that still a thing?
Speaker 5 (24:51):
It's it's the practices. But it's it's in the sense
that you get to beat around the guys for the
next you know, month or whatever leading up to the
start because the transferportal window now opens right right after
January one. And so imagine you lose this game and
then everybody just goes home for winter break. You don't
see him for a month or so, and everybody's talking, right, So, yes,
the practices matter, Yes, the development matters more so. I
(25:13):
think it's just like keeping the juju, the good juju,
and the cohesion in the building right and being able
to communicate with your athletes face to face.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (25:21):
And Washington State, I'm telling you, like bringing Oregon State
to Wazoo, Like, this is going to be so big
and they have to make a statement here and this
is I think this has really big for Jimmy right
now to make a statement, to be him losing to
organ State twice, I don't think that's going to be
good for him. But I think finishing the year out strong,
getting this win and then correcting whatever happened in corballis Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
I agree. Is this a rivalry at all?
Speaker 6 (25:43):
Do you guys.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Not to me?
Speaker 7 (25:46):
But I can see them trying to make.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
It one Alex.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
I think we need a little more.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
We need we need to pack twelve, you know, kind
of to exist in its new for him before we
start kind of making the rivalry conversation happen.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
I think Boise State it's going to be the one,
just because they're fans and a stupid blue turf.
Speaker 7 (26:03):
And it just takes one something chippy, something chippy to
happen and then create that rival.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah, well, go get a win, finish this thing off, Brick.
It's all up to you. You're gonna be there. I
don't know if MK is gonna fly over, have another
emergency landings, probably an Othello or something this time.
Speaker 7 (26:20):
Spanguel Washington on the freeway.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Can you imagine driving over all of a sudden there's
there's this big dude all tatted up, walking out of
his airplane, throwing up the hitchhiking thumb. Be safe, MKA,
will you please? You worry me sometimes and we need
you around here. All right, uh m K. Tell us
about the mortgage business.
Speaker 7 (26:37):
But listen, Team Bruce Morgan. Okay, if you're looking for
a mortgage, you're looking at buyer refinance, reach out to
Team Bruce. Uh Team Bruce mortgage dot com and we

Speaker 3 (26:51):
You got it.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
You did a heck of a job for them. So
uh for for Jim and Sylvia Maine. So I can
I can attest to his stuff, Alex, we got Black
Friday story. Last I had a couple asked me about this.
I said, wait, this was after their stuff last week.
I said, wait till last Saturday, because that's when the
Black Friday sale opened up.
Speaker 6 (27:05):
Right yep.
Speaker 5 (27:06):
Osaga dot com Black Friday Sale going on now thirty
percent of all styles. It is the cheapest is shoes

Speaker 6 (27:25):
My brother and I restarted it.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
Retro kind of retro runners, retro shoes, super comfortable.

Daily power Play next short.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
Been here at TEB one backer now man, this is
the daily power Play Hockey on your home for the
Kraken Sports Radio ninety three point three kJ r FM.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
What Seattle Cracking.
Speaker 4 (28:24):
The Daily power Play is brought to you by Isakwahanda Caboda,
the logist inventory of Koboda equipment in Kane County. Now
your daily look at the National Hockey League and the
Seattle Kraken with the inferness.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
All right, here we go. It is the Daily power
Play on your home for the crack of night three
point three k jr FM, brought to you by is
Kuahana Kboda. Right off five ninety let's uh, let's hear
from head coach Lie Lambert. He was asked today about
Jared McCann, who has been out since October the eighteenth.
He's skating with the team today in line rush is
now I've got conflicting reports. I've got McCann centering a
(29:07):
line with Wright and Catten, but I'm hearing it was
Catten in the middle with mccannon right on the wings.
That I think is what makes more sense. McCann definitely
on the wing. He can play in the middle, but
I don't think he has too now. Lane Lambert on
how he's progressing camp, We're always seen it back out
in there a regular jersey. Think's going to go from
(29:29):
the school. We're still waiting on him.
Speaker 8 (29:31):
We're still waiting on him, but progressing and obviously, you know,
we had him in a position there where we're hoping
that he's going to be in the lineup here very shortly.
So we'll see still an ir and we'll go from here.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
You haven't gotten to see him play that much, just
a few games, and you know, training camp, he's not
really able to get on the ice that much.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
I mean, what are you kind of expecting from him
when he does get back in there.
Speaker 8 (29:55):
Well, he's got an element of skill, you know, he
can put the talk in the net. If you look
at you know, the first few games that he played,
the overtime winner, you know, the goal that he scored
off a little sort of a chip pass from Matty
Benier's that he went top shelf on. You know, he's
he's a guy that can add that element to our team.
(30:16):
And we need, you know, we need some more offense.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Yeah, yes they do. I say that for a team
that's been really good all year, but they need more offense.
There's no doubt about that. Cracking taking on the Stars
of Dallas tomorrow at Climate Pledge Arena. Don't forget it's
a cracking ticket Tuesday. By the way, have you given
away tickets for this salary yet?
Speaker 6 (30:39):
I have not.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
Thank you for teasing it because it might be coming
up here pretty quick, I would think, so that game
coming up here soon four two six sixty five ninety FI.
When you hear the sounder play for our cracking ticket Tuesday,
it's for December eighth. It's a Monday game, sir, against
the Minnesota Wild. I do believe. Okay, I didn't know
which game it was, but yes, I know the Monday
games a little bit more than I know the other game,
(31:01):
So that's uh, yeah, there you go, Minnesota while Monday night,
December the eighth, So we'll give away those tickets to say,
I think McCann's back tomorrow. I don't think he's skating
on that line with those two guys if they weren't
going to activate him and playing tomorrow. I'm just guessing.
I don't know, but I'm thinking that has to be
the case. Anders doesn't it like here because mill Guard
Oscar Fisker, Mulguard and got a newman, we're both extras today.
(31:26):
That doesn't make sense if McCann's not playing tomorrow. So
we'll see seven o'clock drop a bucks six to thirty
pre game tomorrow here on your home for the crack
at ninety three point three kjar FM. Andrews will have
a pick today at two thirty five for fact or fiction.
We're taking your text at four nine four five one
on the still unrestricted free agent text line. We're also
(31:48):
looking for a couple of voice texts. If you want
to chime in on the voice text line we had
to pull up. They will give you the results for
it two thirty today, maybe even before that depends on
how long. I keep one for we'll see, but we're
gonna ask the question of when do you eat Thanksgiving dinners?
And we asked the question. You know, I will ask him.
He'll probably just say all day. Knowing him, we'll do
(32:09):
all that right here. John Lynn coming up.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
Next now from the Star Rentals Sports Tout Jordan ninety
three point three k j R FM Sports Headlines.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Hey, welcome in. It's time for a little headlines brought
to you by Frostbrew cors Light Choose Chill reaching for
the headlines. Oh you know what, you know whether they
were anders on my little in the back here that
it's going to go up to Sn'll call me casino
later for the sports Vega KC minus three anyway headlines.
(32:44):
Seahawks quandary digs into the possibly return on social media sound.
They haven't anounced anyth yet. They won't do anything till
tomorrow at the earliest, but I'm sure we'll be asking
head coach Mike McDonald about that digs coming back. They
got a lot of issues at safety right now. Jeremycamn
return to practice Tuesday. Looks like he's gonna play tomorrow
and he's playing, by the way, Betton. If you're listening,
(33:05):
he was playing on the wig today. I don't know
what's wrong with you. I think Beton actually had kids.
He had these kids there today, so he's just can
you imagine Can you imagine the captain covering a practice
while being a dad watching the kids. Oh, I would
have paid money to see that with two little mini
captains man the mini Betton boys running around wearing their
(33:27):
Brooks Brothers stuff. Sounders announced final roster moves we started
at the start of the off seasons. Stephen Fry, Apollo,
Roth Rock. All these guys are all kind of free agents.
Two of the three will be gone Red Sox. Well
may mean what one of the three will be gone?
One of the three? Paul was gone right Red Sox
(33:47):
Cardinals making a trade. Sonny Grady goes to Boston forty
Niners beat the Panthers on Monday n Football, and we'll
talk about that right now with John London.
Speaker 4 (33:55):
Welcome Dean's weekly visit with John Lund Unleashed. He's a
area media icon who's known Ian for over twenty five years.
But don't let their age change your opinion of them.
John takes you through the Bay Area and the NFC
West and dupes it out with Ian over the.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Niners and the Hawks. So let's unleash it now with
John Lund. Here's Ian. Well, we need to redo that.
I just remembered. Uh, let's get on that and get
on that way. Please. It's because Unleashed has now been
don't read it. It's gone, don't change it.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
That's fine.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Well I'm just I mean, haven't you rebranded yourself to
PFB wire, Pro Footballwire dot com.
Speaker 6 (34:34):
And all that?
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Yeah, okay, yeah, that's fine.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Well what do you want?
Speaker 3 (34:37):
I just think it's funnier. I think it's better this way.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
I strive No at least.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
I mean, I'm a beggar. I can't be a chuser.
I mean, there's an open to the segment. How many
people can say that. I don't even think there's an
open for your show. I don't even know if they
acknowledge you.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
No, they don't like Middays don't get anything.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
At Afternoon Drive gets a lot, Morning gets a lot.
You know, if you're doing Middays, which I've done for
years and you've done for years, did we promote your show?
He is like, what is it? Area fifty one? Area
fifty four Studio fifty four.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
Well that was it.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
They don't even acknowledge mid Days on radio.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Somewhere somewhere. The gas Man, my friend Mike Gas to know,
enjoying his retirement up on Whidby Island. If Gas is
listening right now, he is chuckling. Because when I was
working in Salt Lake, you were in Salt Lake and
the jazz and the Sonics were playing. I used to
go on his show all the time, and I think
and he didn't know me, He didn't know me from Adam,
but I think he had me on only because he
(35:28):
liked I called my show in the mid Days in
Salt Lake Area fifty one because of what you just said.
They didn't acknowledge. We had that dipstick of a program
director jeff Rickard, Oh gosh, just the worst human being
on the planet, and that guy ever and I I
had them build an open called Area fifty one. I
had the X files us X files music and we
(35:48):
didn't because I swear they didn't acknowledge anything about it.
We didn't have any endorsements and he commerciald It was
just like there. And yeah, to this day, to this day,
when I was doing Middays and my guy Gas was
after me. He would refer to my it was area
fifty one when I was doing middays at KJR. So, yes,
you're one hundred percent right. He loved that. Gas. We
love you, we miss you, all right, buddy, We got
(36:08):
lots to get to today. All right, we got a
lot to get to. Yeah, number one on the list,
because we're gonna talk with this a bottom. They are
the most important thing.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
We had a pole question, made a big debate yesterday.
What time is the right time to eat Thanksgiving dinner?
Speaker 3 (36:21):
Oh god, that's a great question.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
In my house and I have a bunch of functioning
alcoholic people. My parents actually forgot me at the airport
one time because they were so drunk and Thanksgiving and
my dad called me and goes, where are you?
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Didn't they make a movie? Did they make a movie
about that? Called Home Alone? It was a home Alone movie?
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Is that that?
Speaker 3 (36:39):
It was a Thanksgiving version. They actually forgot me one
time at the airport. My dad called me, he goes,
where are you. I'm at the airport. You're supposed to
come get me. And he goes, well, I've made a
vat of bloody Barry mix and my mom would would
not we need to go on this tangent. But my
mom would cook once a year and she'd have to
drink bourbon the whole time, so she was out of
the picture. And then he was drinking bloody marit. I
didn't know who was going to pick you. And this
(37:00):
is obviously because we're up the age we are, this
is the four Ubert. I'm like, so I don't shoot.
Do take a taxi? Anyway? Long story short, because that
gave me time to think, we would we would we
would eat about three thirty.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah, that's about too early. Too early.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
What's what's the what are the the options on the
on the pole question?
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Now I will I'll tell you what the options are
in one second. I did. Someone did bring this up
anders as well, in John on when we did ask
this question yesterday. It was brought up because I think
and I think it's a good one. This is kind
of also based maybe on your time zone and John,
you've lived in that you've lived in every time zone
Eastern Central Mountain.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
Mostly West Coast. I was born in California and I
lived in the West for a long time. I did
stop in Philadelphia, Dallas, Detroit. Yeah, I was in those places.
So but when I worked here. Here's the other thing
that I am screwed up. I worked in Detroit and Dallas.
There were times in my life where I didn't and
I never even had things giving my parents are like, hey,
we're coming. I'm like, you know, and I'm working. Like
(37:58):
in Detroit when they were like oh and sixteen, I
did a Thanks gimming.
Speaker 6 (38:02):
Day game that was great.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
And then in Dallas I did pre half in post
of the Cowboys and that was the other one. So
a lot. So you know, can't yell at me. I
never had Thanksgimving No, well.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
I mean not, I mean in those two Marcus God,
I can't imagine. I used to remember rooting for the
Lions early in an NFL season, just hoping the first
game would be relevant, you know, like like please, like
hopefully you guys are gonna be like Wayne Fons as
a coach, like can you guys just win a few
games so the game means something, you know, at a.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Give me, give me, we got a lot to do,
but give me thirty seconds. Okay at this So I
I you know, I did pre half the post Relions
and they were so terrible and Steve marr uci deal
with Niners coach was the head coach and they were terrible,
and Michael Vic and the Falcons when they weren't even good,
beat them something one year like thirty four to seven.
They weren't even in it. People are booming them out
of the building. The next day, I got to do
(38:50):
the morning show solo, and Mariucci came on my show
every Friday, and it was Friday. I didn't think he
would come on. He got fired. He calls me on
that Friday. That Friday he gets fired. He's such a
nice guy. He calls me and apologizes to the fans.
I when he when he was on the line, I
talked to him off the are and go, you don't
have to do this. He goes, ah, I kind of
(39:12):
home an apology because you know, he talked this big game,
we're gonna tak the lines around and all this kind
of stuff. And they got beat like thirty four to seven,
and he calls inf you're getting fired, And I'm like,
what am I going to say to the fired guy?
Speaker 6 (39:25):
Like, you know, he got ten million dollars to go away,
so it's not sorry for him.
Speaker 3 (39:28):
But yeah, he called me the day after Thanksgiving to
apologize with the Lions.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Yeah, okay, so here's here are the options. Now this
is based because the guy that texted you know, he's right.
Because if you're on the Eastern time zone or what
have you, and I'm basing this on most people are
sports fans, like football fans. But if you're on the yeah,
yeah games. Yeah, if you're on the East Coast, it's different.
But on the based on West Coast times, Uh, here
are the three here are the four ones. We said
noon to two, four to noon to two, two to four,
(39:56):
four to five or five pm or later.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Yeah, I said three thirty. That's the perfect time. And
I'll defend it to the yeah because think about it,
you have enough time to eat appetizers, you watch the games,
even though the Detroit game back in the day sucks.
So if there was gonna be a game you can miss,
if be that one, probably the rave into the Bengals
is the game you could miss. There's a couple of
good games here, but no, I'll defend my my slot
because what happens is you have enough time to drink
(40:22):
and eat appetizers, then the midday happens that's usually the
Cowboys game. Have the Cowboys, and then then in the evening.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Can I talk like a former free half posts in
the in.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
The evening everable? I mean, everybody hate your Cowboys.
Speaker 6 (40:38):
This is general.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
It's like the Lakers or just hate that would dou
notre name. But but then you have time to digest
the thing, and then at some point later you don't.
You don't eat dessert right afterward jority stuff. You lay
on the couch, have a couple more cocktails, digest, do
whatever turkey does to you, and then you eat like
pumpkin pie or whatever. Later.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
Well you brought up also you also brought you also
brought up something really important. I think this is something
that needs to It's underrated. But really as a necessity,
there's absolutely no reason to eat dessert right away after
you finished dinner. No, like, yeah, you gotta wait clear off,
I don't know, have a gummy, do something you know,
and then just and then and then you know, like
(41:19):
because you can't, like you if you truly treat Thanksgiving
as need be, like you're full, maybe you're gonna sip
a glass of wine. I'll use me for example. It
won't be maybe I will uh and uh or maybe
some brown water, probably for my friends at Chambers made
a stillory and then uh, and then you wait for
and then you wait for for dessert after that. But
(41:39):
I here's the problem. So this year, like I think
based on Chiefs Cowboys being kind of an elite game,
right starting at one thirty, Yeah, kind of at one thirty.
I don't want to be mid for fourth quarter watching,
you know, like all a sitting getting pulled away. Mother
in law's going it's time to eat, wondering what's going on,
and I'm like, see, I control the turkey, though, I
control the turkey, so I've got I've got caught, I've
(42:01):
got it. Yeah, it doesn't happen until I do it.
And it's as simple as that. So when I when
I decided turkey's already got time, I mean, oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
A second, because yeah, yeah, it's you know, there are
certain days that are certain days that are theirs, and
I just look at Thanksgiving and it's not really my day,
even though there's a lot of football on. So my
point is is that you can't really base it on
the best game of to day, or maybe you can,
because we've always had a set time. Yeah, no, it
doesn't really matter.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
We've got a set time. So we brought it up, like, yeah,
we brought it up because it's a battle every year.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
Kansas City is it? Like Kansas City Dallas is the
best game and that's the second game. So we're going
to base it around that.
Speaker 1 (42:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think you have to. I think
you have to have some flexibility. I think flexibility is
a huge part of the I think I think really
do enjoy a holiday like Thanksgiving, I think you need
to have a little flexibility in you. Now, my flexibility
will never go before say, three o'clock or three thirty.
It usually it has to be I'm usually a post
four o'clock guy, but I think he still need I need.
I think flexibility is a big part of how you enjoy.
Speaker 3 (43:01):
There's a lot of factors we're ignoring here because here's
the thing. I don't know about you, and I don't
want to come across as as overly negative or anything,
but I don't want people hanging around my house too long.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
We do.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
We do a lot of hosting. I hope I host
Thanksgiving a lot, so I want them in and out.
Speaker 6 (43:18):
Here's the problem.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
I'd rather have them in early and out because the
thing is is that you get Friday off and I
don't go out on Black Rider or anything like that,
get up early on that stuff. But I really like
people out of my house, especially the older I get
by about eight at the latest. So the earlier I eat,
the quicker I can get them out. I'm tired, I'm cranky.
I've pretty much been drinking all day, I've been eating
all day. I don't I'm not going to feel so
(43:41):
good whatever. Again, that thing is called from Turkey, so
you know, you got that going and you're tired, and
then you have a dessert and then it's kind of like,
you know, starting to get dark out and everything, and
you're like, I wish these people would get out of
my house. You have to. You know, there's a lot
of factors. There's football factor, there's get people out of
my house early enough. There's you know, there's a lot
of stuff going on. And again, I don't know how
many people you have over We generally will have I
(44:01):
don't know, probably ten to twelve. There's a few annoying people,
there's over drinkers. I mean, there's a lot of stuff
going on, and by that point too. The later get on,
they start drinking a little bit more, and I get
out of my house. You got annoying kids, you got
dogs running around, kids that are younger get cranky. There's
a lot when you see a lot of factors here.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
When you say over drinkers, you're looking in the mirror
right like that's you're referring too. Yeah, but I'm you know,
I would, yeah, cut off the hose. He's been overserved.
Speaker 3 (44:33):
Oh god, you know what, though, to be honest, you
would think that. But I'm strategic, and I bet you're
the same way. On certain times where people will overindulge
from a drink standpoint, on those days, I pull back
a little bit because again, traditionally, my mom drinks all
day because it's the only day she cooks. My dad
literally makes a bucket of margarita mix. He's going to overdrink,
(44:55):
you know. The younger kids are going to drink a
bunch of stuff. So I kind of just to be
completely honest, know this is weird to say, but I
stay on and even keel on Thanksgiving because I got
to oversea a little bit, you know, so I don't
go too crazy. And then you mentioned a few things. Again,
that's another factor. If you're gonna do Thanksgiving, you can't
do beer. I mean, I know you're guy, but you're
gonna get full. You can do red wine is a
(45:17):
good thing to do. I definitely will do, you know, whiskey,
but just put it on some rocks because you're not
drinking too much. And again, you got to be it's
a strategic day.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
Yeah, yeah, I can get you. Got to get you
up here and have a little taste of our Chambers Bay.
It's fantastic. Okay, John Lute joining us.
Speaker 3 (45:33):
It's over.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
The rail, totally off the rails, all right. I'm looking
at the standings in the NFC right now. Yeah, I
don't know how how much change do you think there's
going to be in the top seven that are playoff teams?
Detroit I guess right can still maybe is gonna to me?
You know what's almost thinking? Is it Detroit and or
and or not Detroit and or is it Detroit Green Bay?
(46:00):
I think San Francisco is a playoff team, But how
do you see it? I mean, LA's in Philadelphia's in
Chicago for some reason, at eight and three's probably in.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
I don't know, see I could see them our friend
Caleb Williams there and they've got to play some teams
down the stretch. I could see them losing some games
and I could see them. As much as I think
Ben Johnston's done a great job there, I think they're
the frauds. I just don't think the Bears are for real.
They won some really nice games and some close games,
and they seem to kind of have.
Speaker 6 (46:26):
That hit factor.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
Maybe Detroit, well detroiter green Bay is going to get
hurt by that, and so if Chicago stays in, one
of those other teams aren't going to be there. But
in terms of big picture wise, I mean, look, I
hate to say this, and I know people hate to
hear this. The Rams are the best team in football now.
The Seahawks two weeks ago with all the turnovers and
windn't talk last week, and we talked about turnovers in
that game and everything else at Seattle could have won
(46:50):
that game easily. That wasn't a fair field goal to
give Jason Myers. You guys have talked all about that
kind of stuff. I think Seattle matches up well with them,
and we know that playoffs and when you get to
the playoffs. It's about matchups, and I think Seattle can
match up against Rams very very well. I think Philly
doesn't have it this year. It aj Brown's going crazy.
There's something missing there. Jalen Hurts is not having a
great year. Chicago is a fraud. Green Bay. I thought
(47:12):
Jordan Love would take a step forward, but he's from
Utah State like I am, so he's never going to
accomplish anything. So they're not going to do anything. The
forty nine ers are just too banged up. They barely
got by the Panthers. It brought Purty through three interceptions.
He's not right defensively. Robert Salo is going to get
a job somewhere the defensive coordinator of the forty nine ers,
because I don't know how he's doing it. They would
(47:32):
just got tons of injuries and they're doing something. They're
not going to be a factor in this thing. I mean,
if you start doing that process by elimination, I think
you have to look at Seattle in the Rams. I
mean who else really? I don't think anybody else can
match up. I mean what the Rams did to Tampa,
Tampa the same team to beat Seattle, which blows my mind.
I don't know how Tampa scored thirty eight against the Seahawks,
(47:53):
but to me, it's the matchup. It's the Rams versus
the Seahawks. They'll see each other one more time in
the regular season, and I think they're going to see
each other in the playoffs at some point.
Speaker 1 (48:01):
We painted a picture earlier I did from an India
guy like this is this could be an interesting thing.
If Seattle doesn't win on December eighteenth against the Rams,
that'll pretty much clinch the NFC West for LA. But
Seattle sitting here right now at eight and three, they've
got at least two to three to four more wins
whatever I mean. Worst case scenario, probably they're eleven and
eleven and six. They're in the playoffs. If they don't
(48:23):
win that game with summary team, there's a chance that game,
the final game of the year in Santa Clara between
Seattle and the forty nine ers, would mean nothing to
Seattle and everything to the forty nine ers to try
to get in as a wild card team. Can you
imagine that? Would Seattle sit guys to help to help them?
Can you imagine Let.
Speaker 3 (48:42):
Me ask you that, Let me ask you this, as
banged up as they are, and they are. Yeah, we
saw last night. You know, I was at the game
last night. I mean, you know, Bosa sitting up there,
and Warner's sitting up there, and their first round pick
mckelv Williams is out and they're down to their third
string middle linebacker. By the way, the sack that Cleveland
Farrell got late in the game, and this is totally
foreign to the Sea now because their pass rush is
so good and they can get there with four Cleveland
(49:03):
Farah got a late sack in that game in the
fourth quarter last night. It was the first time in
eighty six dropbacks that the forty nine Ers got a sack.
They cannot get to the quarterback. They can't get to
the quarterback, and yet they can still play that effective
of defense. So to me, that game unless the Seahawks
again you could if Donald's gonna give it to him
four times like you eat the instagrams, then anything is
(49:26):
possible in that game. But I don't know how the
forty nine ers are doing it. Duct tape, rubber, cement,
I mean, whatever the case may be, but they've got it.
Here's the only thing about the forty nine Ers that
keeps submitting they have an extremely easy schedule. Shuder Sanders
is such a garbage of a story in the NFL.
And they had ten sacks against the Raiders. Miles Garrett
had three of those sacks, and Shader Sanders is running
(49:48):
around after the game like like, you know, he threw
five touchdowns or something. It's like, dude, are you serious?
Did you watch the game in any way, shape or form?
Speaker 1 (49:56):
You know?
Speaker 3 (49:57):
So, oh my god? I mean, you know, they're going
to kill the the Browns this weekend, and Tandis Andrews
is going to get rocketed back down to Earth. But
they've got a bunch of easy games. They have the Titans,
like I said, they have the Bears, who I think
are vastly overrated. And then, like you said, that Seahawks game.
But the Niners can stay in it by virtue of
their schedule outside of that Seattle game. But to your
point of if it comes down to that last game,
(50:18):
unless the Seahawks give the game, gives the game to
the forty nine ers, I don't think the Niners can
win that game.
Speaker 1 (50:23):
The final thing, real quick before we go, we got
a break here coming up in a second, and you know,
on me I'm very good in terms of being on time.
Oh you're not, you know I am. I've turned over
newly the what's the word? Down there after brock party
sensational performance of three picks yesterday, all of which were
just like egregious on every level.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
I really noticed some sarcasm in your voice there. They
were just terrible throws. I mean, you know, teams lie
all the time. I mean, the one thing is is
that we forget his fans sometimes, that these guys are
always lying. And Brock after the game said my toe
is fine, and Kyle after the games and my toe
is fine, unlike Jawn Jennings testicles. But that's totally good story.
(51:05):
But that I was trying to think of a word,
and that's just what came out. But he's not right,
and he's just not right. I mean two of the three.
The third throw was actually a great play by jac Horney.
Came from the other I've never even seen that. He
came from the other corner slot didn't have anybody to cover,
so it was a bad play design and goes all
the way across the field and play safety and intercepts
(51:25):
the ball. That was a big play. But the other two,
like you said, were the exact same throw. They were
short and behind the receiver and he had plenty of time.
He was getting pressured out of the pocket, and to me,
that's just a lack of playing. Now will he get
better from that? I don't know, but you know there
was grumblings, Oh Mac Jones. I heard people going to
the back Jones. Stop it like somebody's gonna get mac Jones.
(51:46):
And he's not Sam Donald. You know, they had Donald
two years ago as the backup, and then he's done
what he's done. Mac Jones is not that. I mean,
he was a nice backup. He played well. Rock Party
is maybe not worthy of the contract that he got,
but he's better than Matt Jones.
Speaker 1 (52:01):
Well god, and whoever gets mac Jones doesn't ge Kyle
Shanahan with him. I think that's the important point.
Speaker 3 (52:06):
Good call.
Speaker 1 (52:07):
All right, buddy, tell people about whatever we're doing is
unleash Pro Football Wire. I mean, all the stuff you
got going on. Huh, what do you got going on?
Where can people find you?
Speaker 3 (52:14):
It's all the NFL. It's all the NFL at PFB wire,
Pro Football Wire on YouTube and at PFBO wire on
all social media. So if you like football, and I
think you do in Seattle, Uh, give it a try.
Go H love feedback. I love when you scream at me.
It's it really boosts my confidence. Big fan, big fan.
Speaker 1 (52:35):
Cheers. Do a great Thanksgiving, my friend, take care. We'll
see you.
Speaker 4 (52:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
Absolutely. Hey, everybody have a great Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
Everybody, everybody, even Seahawk fans. That's from John Len. All right, buddy,
I'll talk to you next week. That's John Lynn. Uh,
great stuff with him. I'm exhausted every time I talked
to him. I'm exhausted afterwards. Okay, we'll take a break.
Come back. We'll check your text and got factor of fiction.
All coming up.
Speaker 6 (53:01):
From the R and R.
Speaker 4 (53:02):
Foundation Specialist broadcast studio. Now back to Ian Fernez, powered
by Seapple's Closest sports book, Snow call Me Casino and
Hotel on Sports Radio ninety three point three kJ R FM.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
All Right, we gotta get the text question we asked
yesterday Twitter poll. About six hundred votes said as follows.
As discussed. When you eat dinner on Thanksgiving? Critical Today's success.
When is the optimum time two to four pm? Fifty
two percent on the Twitter poll, X Paul, what dover.
We call it two to four fifty two percent. Four
to five pm thirty one point nine percent, five pm
(53:40):
or later nine point seven six point four percent said
noon to two pm, so four to five. So between
four four or later got forty one percent. Roughly, yeah,
two to four got fifty two percent. Text to four, Yeah,
(54:01):
two to four, two to four. Put text line two
to four, four to five, two to four, all day long,
two to four. It's not even a discussion. Why so early?
I just Marcus says two o'clock and seconds at five
is you can eat a huge meal and then three
hours later do it again. Not even that, I mean
two and a half, laters, two and a half, I
(54:22):
mean two to four, enjoy football before and after, enjoyed dessert.
Early to bed? Why early to bed? I don't, I mean,
unless your onne you're kicking people out, which apparently he does.
I can see that I grew up the two to
four time frame. I mean, I I don't.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
Maybe it is kind of a traditional thing as well,
but I always grew up at like normal dinner time.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
It's dinner six or seven o'clock. Eating dinner at two
pm is for Europeans. And last I checked. This is America.
That's from the four to two five.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
It's actually funny because very European way to eat dinner
is like like eleven ten or eleven very late, So
it depends.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
Two eight, not any earlier than four pm. The correct
answer is four to five E. And so what shall
be written? So what shall be done? It's Thanksgiving dinner.
Hello people, Yes, thank you. Let's see unless you gotta
be work at five am on Black Friday. Okay, see,
this is the funny thing. This is what happens at
our house.
Speaker 3 (55:17):
My mother in law.
Speaker 1 (55:18):
My brother in law's name is tim O. Great dude,
one of the greatest people in the world. Loved him,
love him to death. Great brother in law.
Speaker 2 (55:25):
But your mom, tails us or your wife feel the
same way her. She's tired with her brother. Okay, yeah, yeah,
she's she's very tight, but she's my mother. I go, well,
we got to hit it early because Tim's got to
go to work the next day early. I'm like, well,
Tim's not working right now. Tim, Tim had ankle surgery.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
He's he's a carpenter, he's he's he's he's a he's
a trade guy, and he had ankle surgery. He ain't
working them, he's got to work. No he doesn't, No,
he doesn't any excuse to. It's just it's it's I'm
telling you we're going to have a fight. I told
my wife last night it's going to be a fight again.
Oh yeah, it doesn't matter. Every time I told people
what time to come and it ain't two o'clock. Let's
(56:02):
see what else. Eleven a M. First family, five PM.
Second family. Now listen, see if you have two, that's fine,
right And see, here's the thing, here's what I just
found this out last night, and get out of it.
I can get out of it with this. My daughter,
who's integral to Thanksgiving dinner because it's, wait for it,
a family thing. Yes, she has to do the double dinner,
the double family thing. Boyfriend, boyfriend whatever he is these days,
(56:25):
maybe someday, fiance, I don't know. They bought a house together,
not that it's bothering me at all. Can you tell,
not tell at all? I love you, keys, but what
the hell. Anyway, let's go get on it, bro, Let's
get on it, buddy. Anyway. Yeah, so they go do
early with his family, and then we can't do anything
till we get bree, So it's that hard? Is that
that hard?
Speaker 4 (56:45):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (56:45):
You wait for the family to eat dinner. But I'm
with this guy to oh wait, not any earlier than
four pm. I agree with that. So it shall be written,
so it shall be done. It's Thanksgiving dinner. Hell, old
people dinner exactly. Some of you guys that were voting
on that X poll, I'm not happy with you at all.
I'm not going to show anybody that three point thirty
(57:10):
is at sweet spot. So it's over by four. Then
a Christmas movie with the family. Buddy, we've got football.
We got all of December for the Christmas stuff, all right,
and listen, I'm as big a fan. That's a whole
different conversation. I mean, obviously, Christmas vacations, the Goat, we'll
get to that. Yeah, all those things. I'll watch those.
But it's it's November, right, It's November.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
Chris Kid had this whole thing that he put out
on on X and I totally agree with him. He's
like he's the commissioner of or actually the president of,
waiting till after Thanksgiving for Christmas stuff.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
Yeah, yeah, I'm torn on that. I think I think
after Thanksgiving is when you get out. Yeah, yeah, right yeah.
I think final one from Keith Miller, in my opinion,
is a fat guy. You do Thanksgiving right if you're
eating the whole damn day. So my answer to your
poll is yes to all. Now get in the kitchen
and start cooking Thanksgiving KGr family, Keith and the rest
of our group. We have so many great people that
text in all the time. We know some of your names.
(58:06):
We don't know all your names. We see some on
the text line, but guys like Keith Miller, my guy
Nick Allen, we love Nick and all the guys do
fantasy football. We love you guys all, and we're thankful
for you as our listeners. Factor Fiction, where's that to go?
Glad you're with us?
Speaker 4 (58:20):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
It's Factor Fiction.
Speaker 4 (58:28):
Probably presented by Lucky Eagle, Casino and Hotel where every
Day Feels Lucky. Factor Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety
three point three KJR FM.
Speaker 1 (58:41):
Factor Fiction, Lucky O, Casino, Hood Help and Hotel Every
Day Feels Lucky twenty four hour every Friday Saturday twenty four.
Gaming starts November seventh, So it's underway at Lucky Ego
Casino dot Com. Manager, you get to pick today, all right?
I uh, I'm not again.
Speaker 2 (58:55):
I'm not normally want to do over unders, but I
don't like a lot of the lines this week in
terms of the spread. So I'm I did the under
on this or sorry, the over on the Seahawks game
last week, and I'm gonna do the under on the
Seahawks game this week.
Speaker 1 (59:11):
Your reasoning in fact four nine four to five one.
If you disagree, fiction four nine four to five to one,
what is the number and the numbers forty one and
a half. So I'm taking the Vikings at Seahawks under
forty one and a half on the total, and the
reasoning behind that is twofold. I look at the Minnesota
offense and I have questions. I think they have questions.
(59:34):
We don't know if JJ McCarthy's gonna play. If he doesn't,
it's this backup, but I've never heard of yeah and
I what's his name, I'm trying to remember that's whatever.
They've struggled even with JJ McCarthy. So I feel pretty
good about the Minnesota offense not being able to score
against the Seattle defense. And on the other side too.
(59:54):
I know Seattle's offense has been good.
Speaker 2 (59:56):
It's actually third in points per game in the NFL
this year, which surprised me when I was looking up
the stats. But Brian Flores, he knows Sam Donald, he
knows kind of what you know makes him struggle a
little bit. I could definitely see a world where Brian
Flores dials up the the Blitzer Rooney quite a bit here,
and Donald has struggled with under pressure a little bit
(01:00:18):
more this this season, So I could see a slog
fest of.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
This being like a twenty to ten game or something
like that. All right, So the number again is forty
one and a half under under under forty one and
a half Seahawks and the Vikings fact four nine four
or five one. If you disagree fiction four nine four
to five one, and you're asking yourself why I just
tuned in. I've never heard this before. Thousand dollars every
week is given away one thousand American dollars.
Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
We give it away.
Speaker 1 (01:00:44):
We had two more weeks of giving away one thousand dollars.
Next week someone will get a thousand dollars, and the
following week someone will get a thousand dollars. There's also
a ten thousand dollar grand prize. If you're in contention
for the ten thousand dollar grand prize, you know who
you are. There's a whole bunch of you guys, and
go look it up on the step date of the
stats or the rankings this morning. How many people think
are in it?
Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
Just a rough guess, I'd say about thirty or forty
people that have reasonable shout.
Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
So you got to vote as any times as you can.
So four one, four or five to one fact four
one four five one fiction. We'll have one more pick
tomorrow on our show. So basically the rest of the
week we have four picks coming, one more tomorrow, for
one more today and then I'm sorry, five more picks.
One more today with Softy and Fane at three to
thirty five, then four picks tomorrow and that's it for
(01:01:30):
the week. And then next week we have twenty picks.
So you got to get him in four nine, four
or five one. Uh did you get away a thousand
dollars yet this week?
Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
I've tried, but maybe it's the the you know, Thanksgiving week,
people traveling, non answering their phone.
Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
Okay, all right, so I'm still waiting to hear back
from him. I think when we die. When you dial
out it's a two oh six four nine four area
No I do. I do it for my own cell phone. Okay,
what's the area code? Two six two o six. If
you see a two o six number coming in, it's
not spam. It's Andrews. He's calling you to get ha
thousand dollars. Yeah, that's pretty cool. Yeah, you're a giver
giving away your cell phone number.
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
People try and reach out to me afterwards, I tell you, hey,
this is just for this one little interaction.
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Lock them, just block them, block them, buddy. All right,
factor fiction brought to you by the Lucky Eagle Casino.
What time of the pic it is?
Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks under forty one and a
half total points.
Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
Fact If you agree four nine four to five to
one fiction. If you discrete text to four nine four
y five one, and you should be getting a bounce
back as well. All right, Softy joins us next. Alrighty,
(01:02:43):
ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. Here he is Dave
Softy Muller. Yes, sir, how are you doing a man?
Short week shortly, buddy.
Speaker 6 (01:02:54):
Yeah, short week.
Speaker 9 (01:02:55):
Yeah, this is short week. Uh, there's a part of
me that's kind of bummed out that.
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
A short week. By the Wayregon duck week.
Speaker 9 (01:03:02):
Yeah, I know, right, Like we're trying to jam five
days worth of stuff into three days of Jerry Allen
on Jerry Allen's on the pregame show on Saturday Morning.
Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
Win's Kenzon on Pregame Show Saturday Morning. No, not on
this week. Huh No, we are.
Speaker 9 (01:03:15):
We're gonna move everything to Saturday morning. That's why he said,
Saturday Morning wins again. Saturday Morning, all right, three hours
of husky honking from eight thirty until eleven thirty, and
then Tony cam Alice take over the network at eleven thirty. Yeah,
we're I'm I'm fired up for it, man, my buddy, uh,
Georgie Mike Jorganson. Mike Jorganson does the color commentary for
(01:03:36):
Jerry Allen. I owe them a box of Frans Donuts.
I'll be bringing those to the press box on Saturday.
We had a bet last from last year.
Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
Last year.
Speaker 9 (01:03:43):
Yeah, I mean, I to me, it's my favorite donut
in the world. I'm talking the Frans like old fashioned donuts.
The six pack at the real station you're talking about, Andrews. Really,
never mind all the fancy schman syed donut places, never
mind Top Pot, never mind Voodoo. I love all that
stuff off, although I don't really usually have a desire
for a forty pound donut with Captain crunch on it. No,
(01:04:06):
and if I ever do, I'll stop at Voodoo by
the way.
Speaker 1 (01:04:08):
By the way, did they open one up here? There
is one open here now somewhere. I don't know where
it's at, but they did it open one?
Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
Yes?
Speaker 9 (01:04:13):
I typically don't look at a donut is something I
have to eat with a knife and fork, No, because
then it becomes a piece of cake. Right, it's something different.
That's kind of what that don't you're describing Frans donuts
every now and then there's something in me the former
fat guy just comes raging out.
Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
Wow.
Speaker 9 (01:04:30):
I could go to the AMPM or the Shell station
across the street or the seven eleven and get a
six pack of the Frans old fashioned donuts and eat
every single damn one.
Speaker 1 (01:04:41):
I would just every single one. I would think if
you went to that that particular Shell station across the
street from us, Yes, that Friends donut might have been
made when Georgie was playing it may it may have been.
Speaker 9 (01:04:51):
But I like buying donuts from a place where I
can also get some incense, and I can buy that
over there as well, and a twenty four pack of life.
Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
I can do that too over there, and some Natty light.
Speaker 9 (01:05:03):
Yes, you can also get a plane ticket to any
country in the world there. Really, I know that's a
prepaid phone card. I mean, there's a lot you can
buy over there. Man, So cell phone freaking donuts are
so good. They can't get those down there?
Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (01:05:17):
I mean, that's why I think they can. I don't
know why they can. Why would they not be able to?
Is that a Portland thing? Yeah, you can't pump your
own gas. You can't buy donuts.
Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
That's wild freaking weirdos. Excuse me, weirdoscuse me?
Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
Weird?
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
Are weird?
Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
Tho?
Speaker 1 (01:05:30):
All right, well that's good. So yeah, big wee come
so yeah, you can't get everything in all your Oregon
duck hate.
Speaker 9 (01:05:35):
I can't get it all in. We'll get a lot
of it in, but not all of it. So I'm
trying to decide what way to go with your game
on Saturday by the.
Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
Way, what's what's the spread now? It was like ten
and a half or something now and it's gone way down. Yeah,
that's done, really big. I thought it'd be lower than that.
Silly me.
Speaker 9 (01:05:52):
I thought it'd be a lot lower than I was
ready to jump on.
Speaker 1 (01:05:55):
It considering that our offense is ranked in the one
hundreds of almost every category. I think so too. Our
defense is top fifty and everything, and our offense is
bottom ten basically and everything. So I don't know.
Speaker 9 (01:06:06):
The current line is actually thirteen and a half. My fault, Yeah,
thirteen and a half. I don't think of the total
in that game. By the way, it's forty one and
a half.
Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
Well, they played a ten to seven game three weeks ago,
So take the under.
Speaker 9 (01:06:19):

the thing. The text line, tell me, my god, I
think I need to go get one of those things.
Now they say a good Do you.
Speaker 9 (01:06:31):
Ever see the movie you've seen Willie Wonker, right, the original,
not the Johnny Depp remain talking the original with Gene Wilder.
Speaker 1 (01:06:39):

Speaker 9 (01:06:41):
Peter Ostro Jeff albertson May they rest in peace?
Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
Is Gene Wilder dead? By the way, I think he died.
Believe he died. I think yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:06:49):
But it's like when the kid goes into the classroom
and the teacher is doing math about how many Wonka
bars if you bought one, you ate two, you gave
back three, and he looks and says, I, I just
have one. It's like one. I can't just do one. No,
I can't just do one. Friends, don't I got to
have at least four.
Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
Somebody texted in and this this this person probably made
a stop at Sean Kemp's beforehand. Good idea, friends, old
fashioned like you like. Also tostitos with caso. Oh they're
so good. Assume they're not combining. And I think that's
like one's dinner and one one's dessert.
Speaker 9 (01:07:24):
You'd stop at camp place and then you'd go get
like four dozen donuts. Well that's what they're doing the
tostitos cases. Is it about marijuana that just totally takes
away your ability to feel full? Can somebody explain that
to me? It gives you the munchies. It's a teach
why what is the But what's the what's the doctor anders?
(01:07:44):

chemical involved that has that effect. I don't know, But

research for soft because then when I come home with
four dozen friends old fashioned, don't study.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
