interception JSN eight grabs one hundred and twenty nine yards receiving.
Ernest Jones was injured in the game, not season ending,
says coach Mike McDonald. Will see when he speaks later

(01:04):
playoff series. Must win for the Sounders. They lost the
first leg of that series in the MLS, taking on
Minnesota tonight seven to forty five. Late kick for that game,
Kook took a tough loss in Corvallis. I don't want
to talk about it. We'll get to that tomorrow with
Kooks guys. Husky football ranked number twenty four in the
country taking on Wisconsin in Madison on Saturday. College basketball
(01:24):
season opens up as well tonight Washington and Seattle. You
on the men's side, women's side, same thing. Later on,
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Your home for the twelfth Man in the NFL. Brodley Presidence.
Hardcore Football with Hugh Millon, brought to you by Hunt Services,
Dad on the Horn and Cole Hunts. Now here's you
with the Inverness on Sports Radio ninety three point three
kjr FM.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
We're not even gonna mess around.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
We're gonna get right into hardcore football here on this
Monday afternoon. After a resounding Seahawk victory in the Nation's Capitol.
Well not really, it's about an hour's drive outside of
the Nation's capital. We get to that dump of a stadium.
But hey, that dump of a stadium. It's been pretty
good to the Seahawks. I think they've won the last
three or four times they've been back there, including a
(02:12):
playoff game. But away we go, Seahawks get to win.
Hugh Millan is here hardcore football. Hello, sir, how are you?
What's happening? I'm will How are you? I'm very good.
I'm very good. We got a lot to get to today.
Let me I'm gonna Sam Darnell obviously top of the list,
and we're going to get into that from r QB one,
mister Hugh Millen in the second and JSN and what
that offense did obviously a lot of defensive conversation as well,
(02:34):
with the dominating effort they had on that side of
the ball. Let me ask Hugh Millan, who hates anything hypothetical,
but let me throw this at you anyway. Tomorrow is
the trade deadline. How concerned would you be if Ernest
Jones is not out for the season. According to Mike McDonald, yesterday,
but well, he has his news conference later on today,
(02:55):
so we'll see if you get an update if he's
gonna miss X number of games, Hugh, four or five, six,
whatever it might be, maybe even three or four. Would
you be in the market for a linebacker before the
trade deadline tomorrow if you're John Schneider, or would you
just roll with Tyree Knight and Drake Thomas.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
The problem is that if you give up, if you're
trying to get a guy of Ernest Jones caliber, you're
going to be giving up a lot. And uh, well,
we'll we'll see. I'm assuming it's more like a couple weeks.
It seems like it looked like a grade two m
c L. There's a non doctor assessment for a guy
(03:35):
who's had a grade two m c L. You know
when you when when it bends that way, Uh, you
know where your ankle goes outside relative to your knee,
it stretches the inside part of your knee and uh,
and that's the m c L. And doctors, if I
explain that wrong, please text in and correct me. But
but that's that's my understanding of it. And again, I
(03:56):
had that injury, so but I I think that they've
got enough depth. I mean, had they lost them for
the season, maybe I'd be of a different mindset, Okay,
But I think that that's why you draft guys and
and that's why you you know, build your roster, and
and I think there's a certain morale part of that.
(04:17):
You know, you don't just panic and say oh, because
you're trying to sell the team and the unity throughout
the locker. And I think the players would kind of
get it if he was out for the year. But
you know, you know, there's a there's a we all,
we got, we all we need mentality. I don't know,
I'm I'm probably a little reluctant. I'm reluctant on probably
(04:40):
all the fronts. I don't want to trade Rek Woollan.
I don't want to trade Boy Mafe, even if you
don't sign those guys.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
I just don't think that the Seahawks are sellers right now.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
So maybe maybe I got blinders on and there's some
logic that that is evasive to me at this moment.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
But yeah, I I well relatively conservative.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
On that, and we've got, luckily, we have a little
bit more time today because unfortunately baseball seasons no longer happening,
So I do want to let me I'm with you
first on the linebacker thing. I mean, first off, if
it's an ACL, they know it's an ACL right away.
They tell you it's that way. So when he came
out last night and said, yeah, he's not done for
the season, you can okay. So it's whatever it might
be with mcl what have you. You kind of probably
(05:22):
live with what you've got there with Tyreese and Thomas
and away you go O'Connell and whoever else they have.
Depth wise, the I'm with you on the Woolen thing,
I get asked out a lot. He would be like, oh,
should they trade Somebody just asked us to the office
here an hour ago, should they trade Wolan? And I said,
did you guys watch the game when they had Pritchett
in there? Like, did you watch that game? Because like
(05:44):
and they don't grow. You've said this before with Freek
Wollen six four two point fifteen, the athleticism, everything he
did at the combine, which you've articulated many times. You
don't just go out and find that guy on the street.
Now you've also talked about is the compete level where
we want it to be.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Maybe not.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Maybe that's the one thing I got to think that
locker room is pushing guys to compete though. I just
I had Jaron Reid on the show last Wednesday. I
shuld talk to him last Wednesday, had him on, we
played it on Friday. I hold on to Greek Wollan.
I hold on to boy Mafe, edge rushers and cornerbacks.
If you're a Super Bowl contenders, for you, you don't
just get rid of those guys, do you. I mean,
I think you hold on of those guys. Well, I
think that you look at Reek Wollan. With Witherspoon coming back,
(06:27):
Witherspoon played five snaps in the slot and thirty three
out wide, sixteen on the left, seventeen on the right.
That's exactly what we talked about last week. The way
they should play Witherspoon in my opinion, because you know,
he's one hundred and eighty one pounds, and you know,
it reminds me in high school. We had this kid, Colby,
(06:47):
who was our best running back. And I'm the pass
game coordinator, and you know the whole all the formations,
the sets, the language, what routes we ran, you know,
I had that autonomy. And so here Colby, our best
running back, keeps getting concussions. He'd got like his second
(07:08):
or third, and the way they are with the protocol,
you know that you know your second time, they're gonna
sit you down for three or four whatever it was.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
I went to the head coach.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
I said, we need to even though he's our best
running back, we need to play. We need to have
a full scale conversion to him as a wide receiver
because I'd rather have him as a wide receiver on
the field then even though he's our best running back,
to uh to not have month field? Okay, how does
that apply to Devin Witherspoon. Witherspoon is a tremendous competitor,
(07:37):
and when he's healthy in the slot, throwing his body
around and that quickness, it's it's it's awesome to watch.
But he's still only one hundred and eighty one pounds
and he'd already had you know, prior to yesterday, it'd
only played in two games. And so you've acquired nick
Eman Moorri, who's who's not to one at the combine
(07:58):
like Witherspoon, but exactly two and twenty. So he's thirty
nine pounds heavier. He's a nickel sam. That's that's what
he was best at in South Carolina. That's what he
was best at in the summer. That's what you know
what go to practice. That's what he played, like play
in the position that he played well. The position that
he played was Witherspoon's nickel position. So the logic is
(08:19):
you put Witherspoon outside, which they did. You keep Emma
and Rory fifty seven snaps yesterday, fifty five of fifty
seven snaps are in the nickel. He only had two
as a back half safety, which I think is his
competitive disadvantage. So I don't like him back there, but
you know, just so that there's at least something you
have to prepare for. I don't mind two snaps back there.
(08:41):
So I think it all all fits together. And then
you've got Josh Job, who's who's got physical traits. This
is not some overachiever. He went to Alabama. He's got
the size and the and the skill. And you know
he's coached by Carl Scott's who's the secondary coach with
the Seax. So he's a solid, solid NFL starter. Josh
(09:03):
Job Witherspoon is obviously a great talent. And then so
now you throw Riek Wallan on the bench, and how
did he respond?
Speaker 2 (09:12):
We goes in the game.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
You know, I made all my comments this morning about
you know, his man coverage coverage. I made all my
comments today about how well Riek had played before Pro
Football Focus came out with their grade for the game. Well,
I think I think Riek Wollen had the highest grade
of anybody on the whole team on the defense. Ye
(09:34):
if it wasn't the top, it was the second. But
an event, I'm like, yeah, that's what I saw on
the tape too. So so here's a guy that has
a very high ceiling. Yes, inconsistency is a problem, but
by all accounts, what we're talking about, what's our freshest
memory a player in Rek Wallen who was benched and
handled it the right way because when he went out there,
(09:56):
he wasn't pouting, he was just balling and he glu
gloving up guys and so like like, if you're a
six and two team that now you want to make
a push, a January push, a push to January, maybe
a push.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
To February, why on earth would you get rid of
that guy. No you don't. I don't think you do.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
And like, I'm not that media guy that can pretend
like I'm buddy buddies with guys and no guys and
all that stuff. But I've I've had enough conversations with
Riek Walling over the years. He's just kind of a
mellow I'd say, I don't know if I say nice,
but just kind of. He doesn't when you talk to him.
He doesn't come across as the is like, well, Witherspoon
(10:38):
never shuts up, right, just is going and going and going.
And you know, he's what you talk about with the cornerback, right,
you want the big tires and the rims and all
that kind of stuff. That's Witherspoon. That's who he is.
Wallan's cut from a different cloth. But the cloth he's
cut from is six four and over two hundred pounds
and runs and jumps and has length all those things.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Man.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
And I think that locker room, Hugh, I swear I
was out there on Wednesday and I was talking. I
spent some time with Jared Reid. I think there's there's
elements to it, maybe not Hall of Fame elements like
we saw before. But you've been in an NFL locker room,
so you can attest to this. I think what is
an iron sharpens iron all that stuff. I think that
(11:19):
there's some alpha dogs in that room on the defensive
side that are pushing dudes, and I think they can
make a guy like Greek Wolan better. And you said
it best, he handled it well. And you look at
that defensive performance yesterday. All of a sudden, they're still
without Julian Love, right, I mean they're still without they're
starting safety and yet and even Warry, my god, Hugh,
I just look at this defense and I think I
(11:40):
look at the vets like Reid and and you know,
Big Cat and Shenna and Lawrence, and I think that
there's I think there's something there with this defense. And
you don't want to get rid of guys that can
make big time plays like Riek Wolan can.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
Yeah, And I agree with that that they'll kind of
figure out the competitive part of it and he can
improve and and he showed signs of it. And and
what I'm about to say is is entirely unfair. So
this is just my personal conjecture without any inside knowledge
or really any analysis that I could lay down and
(12:15):
give you teeth on. This is just this is just
a uh hubreed live millon hunch. Can I can I
speak in those terms?
Speaker 2 (12:23):
I just do it. I want you to do.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
So.
Speaker 5 (12:26):
I looked up Reek Wills and watching him in training camp.
It's it's it's shocking to me, uh when you stand
next to him, how tall and thin he is. He
is a big, rangy dude. And I've been around you
know a lot of corners through my years. I mean
I was played with Deon Sanders when Dion got drafted,
and and and a bunch of other dudes. And he
(12:47):
is an He is a tall, skinny drink of water.
So I looked up his his high school background and
and you know, just started googling high school background, requelling
all this and that. Well, at one point they describe
him as this dunking slasher like he was an all conference,
like legit basketball player. Well he wasn't good enough to
(13:11):
get you know, a d one scholarship out of it,
but he was damn good. And then he goes to receiver. Well,
I know from coaching twenty four years of youth in
high school football that the guys who want to be
on the team that don't really want to mix it up.
Guess what the ride receiver line is like, thirty five deep,
you know, the the quarterback line is like, is like
(13:34):
four guys and forty four guys want to play receiver.
So he goes to Texas San Antonio and he plays
receiver for three years. They finally move him over to corner.
There's a part of me this is totally unfair, but
there's a part of me that thinks that this guy
was first and foremost and aspiring basketball player, secondly a
(13:57):
wide receiver, and then his compared of advantage as an
athlete led him into being a corner. But that's not
where his true hard is now. Devin Witherspoon, Oh yeah,
that's one of the four guys in high school. He
wants to get scrappy. He wants to nail down right Like,
(14:19):
when he looks in the mirror, he actually sees a
middle linebacker, but the scale doesn't say so. So the
next best thing is that he's got to be a nickel,
right Like. He wants to go like, he wants to headhunt,
right Like, that is a bonafide legitimate football alpha competitors, right,
and I love it and we should all love it.
In my opinion, i'd argue to it. If you don't
(14:40):
love it, what's wrong with you? But I do think
that there's something about Rik Woolen that, you know, gets
a little wonky on these issues.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
But you know what, what's.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
Freshness on my mind? A damn good game yesterday and
in man coverage gloving up on those in routes. I'll
tell you one thing. I'm watching him with all that length.
Then I was like, if I'm Jayden Daniels, I want
no part of throwing that in cut because because Reek
Wooland can burst out of there and with that length,
he can just snatch it from you. And and so
(15:15):
I don't know why. You know, if you were two
and six, Yeah, trade with Reek Woolan today. Yeah, last week,
You're not two and six, you're six and two. Hang
under your deph Uh.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Let me do this. Let me ask you about the defense.
We'll talk about Donald the next segment. UH punt interception,
fumble punt uh, and then a late touchdown drive at
the in the first half. This this game was won
in the first half, obviously with what Donald in the
offense did putting up the points in the perfect half
he had. But when we're watching that defense, when they've
added Emon Warri to that defense. You just talked about
(15:48):
the corners, the pressure they're getting. I believe again a
lot of times four man rush is what just jumps out.
What jumped out at Hugh Mill and what they were
doing that Mike McDonnell defense to Jade and Daniels that
offense in the first half.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
Well, the first question I had going into the game
is now that they've got Witherspoon and Emon, worry, what
are they going to do? They've been a nickel team.
They were number one, uh going into the game. They
were number one in the NFL in terms of percentage
on plane nickel. They were twentieth in percentage of playing
dime at just three and a half percent. So I
(16:19):
had theorized, and what I would have done was again,
play Witherspoon to the outside. I'd be I'd be pulling
a Colby decision like, hey, you're great inside, but I
need you healthy, and your frame says, let's play you outside.
So that was what I was suggesting last week, and
in fact, you know they did that. I mean, Witherspoon
(16:39):
only played five snaps in the slot. Where I was
wrong was I thought that they would up their their
dime play. They only had four plays of dime, so
and and and the way the Seahawks would have your
your dime, you would have Uh, You'd have Ernest Jones
as the MIC. You'd have Witherspoon and even Worry on
(17:00):
the either side of him, essentially playing linebacker. One's a
nickel will one's a nickel Sam so so Will is
just weak side linebacker. Sam is strong side linebacker.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Right.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
Then you'd have Josh job On on one side, Riek
Willen on the other, and then Kobe Bryant and Ocatta
or when Love when he comes back as your back end. Guys,
that's your dime. And I thought we'd see more of that.
We only saw four, So I think it was mostly
what I expected. A little bit of a surprise in
(17:30):
that regard. We'll see how it evolves. But so and
then from there, there were five plays where the Seahawks
brought a dB Okay just five because there's mostly a
four man rush, but the five times they did it
that you had a one for four for Jayden Daniels
(17:55):
the interception, Ocata's interception was on one of those five.
So at the what was the yield on those five plays?
Daniels goes one for four for ten yards and interception,
and a seven yard scramble on fourth and fifteen that
was the one where Big Cat made the tackle, so
that would be an unsuccessful play from the offensive perspective.
(18:18):
So really good production out of just five plays where
they brought the dB. So so I'm just trying to
get my you know, real twenty twenty vision on what
Mike McDonald ultimately wants, and we're not going to really
(18:39):
know it until we see everybody on the field. Right,
We're getting a slightly fuzzy vision, but it's becoming more
into clarity because Witherspoon was healthy and m and Worry
was healthy, and until yesterday that had you'd only had
Am and Worry play four snaps yep of the season yep.
(19:01):
And so we're learning, and I think we all like
what we're learning.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
We saw all of that with their Mike linebacker getting
hurt and their starting safety in Julian Love not playing
as well. I'm with you, Let's see what happens when
you add those two guys to what you already have.
Could be a pretty daunting task for opposition offense, is Heugh,
let's take a break. We'll come back. We somewhat buried
the lead a lot of times. If a guy throws
(19:28):
for two to eighty two and four touchdowns in a game,
we'd call that a great game. Right here, that'd be
a great game. Some guy did that yesterday in the
first thirty minutes of the game. His name was Sam Donnald.
We'll talk about that offense coming up next.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
All right, let's go. Let's check him with h Millen.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
We got hardcore football, continuing, Hugh, Let's get to the
offense and just Sam Donald.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
When the decision was made, let Gino go to or
send Gino to to Vegas and not signed to the
big contract, bring in Sam Donald instead. There were people
across the country raising Eyebrown said, I don't know what
the Seahawks are doing.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
What's going on?
Speaker 3 (20:23):
You're downgrading a quarterback and Donald can't replicate what he
did last year. There's a long lot of season left.
Eleven games left in the seat and only a nine
games left in the season out right, nine, I'm not right?
Six and two, Yeah, but there's a lot of football
left to be played. But what he did yesterday sixteen
of sixteen to eighty two, four touchdowns, and what he's
done this year, because you've talked about it, we talked
(20:45):
about with Cosell and we had the two of you
on a couple weeks ago. It's not like Sam Donald's
drinking and dunking, is it.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
No, he's pushing the ball down the field. He's number
one in the NFL and yards per attempt, yards per
completion yesterday isn't gonna hurt that, it's going to help.
And I think that what he's excelling at. And you
know I was careful in my words. I said, look,
I don't know what Sam Donald is going to be
in twenty twenty five, but one thing I will do,
(21:15):
after watching all of the plays of Geno Smith for
the Seahawks in twenty twenty four and watching all of
the plays for Sam Donald with the Vikings, I will
fight you on a beat to assert that Sam Donald
was a better quarterback than Geno Smith in twenty twenty four.
(21:37):
And you know, just in any way that you would say, okay, well,
it's important for a quarterback, and what you saw last
night is really he's excelling at the elements that I
think are the hardest. What makes quarterbacking difficult is you
got to see the movie before it happens. You've got
to anticipate that when JSN is coming into those windows
(22:00):
over the middle of the field, that he can anticipate
the windows he is.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
He is maneuver.
Speaker 5 (22:06):
He is maneuvering underneath defenders like like he's got a joystick.
And and I'll tell you a principle among them, Bobby
Wagner from the first completion where he held him on
where Bobby Wagner in man coverages what's called a lurk.
He's just he's he's a shallow hole player. He's there
(22:27):
to spy on a on a on a scrambled Darnold's
not a big thread in that regard, but he's helped
there to help on on shallow crosses and to just
be a shallow free safety. He worked his eyes there.
Then Bobby Wagner is the hook zone underneath defender. If
you want to say, uh, compare it to an outfield
uh and an infield. He's like the shortstop or the
(22:48):
second basement on different coverages. He's manipulating the holes and
and just how he's looking and you can see that
it's all a plant. He knows where he wants to go,
but he says, well, let me first move the defenders
so that I can hit these spots the accuracy he's got.
There are three quarterbacks that I've studied over fifty years
(23:12):
watching the position NFL quarterbacks who have materially changed their
mechanics from college to pro. Number one is Aaron Rodgers.
Watch him in Cali. Used to have the ball up
by his ear was goofy. He got it more natural
down as a packer and he's going to the Hall
of Fame and so a big change in his mechanics.
Number two is Josh Allen. Josh Allen had a high
shoulder coming out of Wyoming, high elbow. He got it
(23:36):
down much more of a level lower elbow release, and
he feels much more comfortable, and he's talked about that
most notably in a documentary with Jason Garrett on the
NFL Network. And then number three is Sam Darnold. You
go watch his prota at USC and he had a
big loopy wind up down ball come blow his waist.
(23:57):
I hated his release, and he has he has got
that thing more compact the ball, the loop that it
comes down, it doesn't go down nearly as low. And
now he's got in his game, he's got this this
arm talent that he's displaying where his shoulder doesn't come
all the way through on the throw. He can stop
(24:18):
his shoulder halfway instead of getting his right shoulder up
over his left toe like the way a pitcher would.
He can just he can just snap it. And he's
just flicking it and and his shoulder stops and then
boom it Just it's like a slingshot and and and
he and and just the quickness of his wrist and
fingers are snapping with the ball with high revolution. Uh,
(24:40):
that's more aerodynamically efficient, less aerodynamic drag, which means more velocity.
So he is he is, he has he has materially
changed his throwing motion. He's he still has the accuracy. Remember, now,
this is a guy that what hung fifty points against
Penn State in a memorable Rose Bowl. Right, this guy
(25:00):
was a a true thoroughbred coming out of college. And
and and yet he has refined his mechanics and there's
a calmness to him. You know, there's three types of
mentalities that you can have as a quarterback, and two
of them can win. You can be a feisty like
Brett Favre like you know, feisty, positive, burning competitor and
(25:23):
everybody gets inspired by that and you know a lot
of fervor and emotion and what have you if it's
a positive. Or you can be just a Joe cool
like everything's calm the quarterback. Hey, our quarterback is always
in control. He's never too high, never too low. But
what you can't be is the emotional negative emotion. Like
(25:46):
we saw too much from Gino Smith with where he's
thrown his helmet. He's got the bad body language, he's cut,
you know, he's he's given stink eye to the teammates.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Like he was an emotional guy. Emotions.
Speaker 5 (25:58):
Fine, played your personality, but you got what you got
two out of three that you can pick. You can't
pick the third. You can't be an emotional negative guy.
And there was too much of that from Geno. Sam
Donald's more of the second. Less emotional. He's not you know,
he's not a burning Baker Mayfield type competitor. Doesn't need
(26:19):
to be let Baker be Baker. That's great, that works
and you know what, in the end, you put the
team in the end zone, people will follow you. But
it's really hard to to do what Gino was doing.
And uh and and so I think Donald in his play,
in his comportment, I think it's just a win win
(26:40):
for Seattle.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
What did the when did the mechanics change? Was it
when he went to when he's backing up in San
Francisco with Shanahan?
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Do you think or when do you think that changed?
I think it was kind of a slow roll. Okay,
I don't have a great answer for you.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
I went back, Well, you bring up after this, you
bring it up it because when you bring up those
three exams, this is not something you see all that often, right, Like,
I mean, it's just no like like for someone to
kind of remake who and what they are mechanically, and
that just doesn't sound like it happens all that often.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Generally, quarterback coaches work at the NFL level, They work
with your feet, like, hey, let's just make sure that
our feet are where where our eyes should be, so
that our our weight the kinetic energy, the kinetic transfer
of the weight. You know, it's just like a golf
swing or a baseball or a tenant. You know, there's
a lot of weight transfer thing. Uh sports that have
(27:33):
a lot in common, bowling, whatever, you know, you you
wanna you want to be you know as a right
hand or be on your most of your weight on
your right foot. Then then your hips are gonna lead
your shoulders. Your shoulder is going to lead to arm.
There's all, it all, all the kinetic chain is supposed
to time up together, and then you end up with
you know, ideally on your left foot. I mean, if
you remember Gary Player, the uh the golfers, one of
(27:55):
five guys who has a Grand Slam uh YouTube Gary Player,
he would he would hit shot and he would walk
down the fairway as he hit his shot because he
wanted to remind himself, hey, I've got to have this
weight transfer.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
And so that's some important stuff.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
So but getting back to NFL coaches, and I backed
up three Hall of Fame quarterbacks and three additional Pro
bowlers beyond that, and and I just have never seen
quarterback coaches try and change mechanics. Nobody tried to change
my throwing motion. Nobody tried to change anybody else as
(28:31):
I ever saw. It's like, dude, you're in the NFL.
If you can't throw a football, we'll get somebody else
who can. Is kind of the mentality and and so.
But so I think it's relatively not many guys change
their upper body mechanics. They work on their feet, yes,
that's very common, but their upper body mechanics. You don't
(28:53):
see a lot of guys doing that. But you go
watch Sam Darnold at USC and compare them to what
you saw last night. Huge difference. Maybe it's my eye
that just sees it a little bit more granularly, not
that I see everything, but I've looked at it for
over fifty years and coached it and what have you.
So I can definitely see that ball is not coming
(29:14):
down anywhere near as low as it used to be
with USC. I remember that famous game in Husky Stadium
when when the Trojans beat the Huskies, when when Chris
Peterson had the Huskies rolling high and sc came in
and just put it to them. With Sam Darnold in
his first year starting, so I've vivid memories of what
that guy looked at He looks a lot different now.
(29:36):
It's just it's a cleaner release. And by the way,
like look, do you remember the end of the second quarter,
Just to give you an example of where I think
his mechanics are, they put Jackson Smith and Jigba in
the backfield as a halfback. Now, earlier in the first quarter,
they had done that in the first drive and on
a little option route against zone they end up getting
was it thirteen or no, fourteen yards out of that.
(30:01):
But now they come back at the end of the
second quarter and they get manned to man and in
Jigba starts to break to the outside. I think that
Darnald thought he was gonna break it to the flat
because he can either break it in he would hook
against zone. Well it wasn't zone, so he's not gonna
hook it. So either gonna break.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
In or out.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
But he also clearly has the green light to take
it vertical if he wants. So he comes up, stalks
the defendering man and then he and he releases outside.
At that point you see Donald start to cock his
arm like he's he wants to throw, but his base
stays solid. His feet basically don't move. He's still loaded
(30:40):
on his right side. Where you need to be. You
need to have most of your weight sixty seven percent.
He stays loaded on his right side. Yes, his arm
goes up, but his lower body is nice and calm,
keeps his his center right over where it should be,
just to the to the right of center. And now
he reloads with his arm and then in the release
that I'm talking about, it's like an arm talent throw.
(31:01):
He just kind of his his shoulder barely gets through.
It's like he stands and he throws it from from
the phone booth, like there's not this big violent weight transfer.
He just flicks it out there. And that's after having
been fooled about what in Jigbab would do. But he
walks it. He literally walks it to him up the
sideline for I think like a twenty two yard game
(31:22):
as in Jigba catches it and fades out of bounds.
That's the one where he remember they had to review
whether his knees down and big play.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
That's a three point completion. Yes, arguably, that's a three
point pass.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
And and and and and I'm sitting in here marveling
that his mechanics, Like, dude, that is like perfection.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
That's teaching tape stuff right there. I love it.
Speaker 5 (31:44):
And he didn't have teaching tape mechanics when he came
out of USC.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
All right, we're gonna pivot here. It's an audible for us.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
Jess, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I need, I need Hugh
one more segment because there's two things I want to
ask him about. One we wrap up hardcore football. We
started talking about trade deadline tomorrow. I'm gonna ask you.
This is a tease you so don't answer it yet.
This is a tea professional teas here, professional radio guy. Yeah,
I'm I'm gonna ask you about the right guard position
(32:12):
number one with the trade deadline looming, and number two
we come back. No Cooper Cup, no Jake Bobo, no
Jarek Young. I want to ask you about the epside.
We've everyone's talked about JSN and rightfully so, guys having
an incredible season. He's on pace for an NFL record
in terms of yards. I'm all on that. I'm gonna
ask you about the kid that you know very well,
(32:33):
who your son through to at Colorado State, Tory Horton
four catches forty eight yards too touchdown yesterday. I want
to ask you about the P side and what it
is about Tory Horton that you like when you watch him.
That could make him special down the road, because it'd
be a nice complimentary piece to have this guy continue
to progress. We'll talk about that next our core football
(33:05):
fall hemail and wrapping up. We got a few minutes here,
about five minutes, so let's bang this out. He LEAs
start first with Tory Horton. You knew him well, you
watched your son played with him at Colorado State. Injuries
pushed him down further in the draft, but when he
was drafted, I know you were very bullish on the draft,
like the pick and thought the upside. You know, one
game and we've seen flashes from him this season. Give
(33:26):
me your your your what are your eyes or your
hardcore eyes? Tell us about what Tory Horton can be.
I think he's given you great production for a fifth
round rookie. Right and and you know without cup, the
defense dictated he'd get the first play. Uh, you know,
perfect angle if he was flattery, goes into the lurking
linebacker wagoner, if he goes higher than the corner can undercut,
(33:49):
it's like a perfect angle. So you get a slant
to start off the game.
Speaker 5 (33:53):
Uh. That the touchdown. I would not say he didn't
bathe himself in glory. The first touchdown, I think that
was more Sam Darnold gorgeous play. That's that's where on
a bootleg left down by the goal line, Horton has
to He's got to lose his leverage. He's got to
come inside because he if if he breaks a corner
route too close to the sideline, you're gonna run out
(34:14):
of room. So he had to lose leverage get on
the inside on an outside breaking route where you don't
want to be. Then he he has to cross back
and across the defender's face a perfect spot by uh
Donald under duress uh where he so to me that
was a Darnald play. But the second touchdown, that's where, Okay,
you're playing man man everybody across the board except the
(34:37):
free safety. Instead of playing in the post, he is
now double covering bracketing JSN all right.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
So so uh.
Speaker 5 (34:45):
From from his position on the point of the of
the U of the the bunch, which means he's on
the line of scrimmage, he's more likely to get jammed,
like he could really get stifled. But he has a
great release to the inside. But Now Sandra still, uh,
the the Michigan you know, great player out of Michigan.
He he thinks, okay, he's inside releasing because he doesn't
(35:07):
have free safety help in the middle because the free
safety is bracketing over on JSN. Now Sandra still says, well,
I'm gonna I'm gonna play the the the deep over route,
the high intermediate crossing route. Well, when he does that,
you know it would have been it's a fair gamble.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
It's like it's like a referee on a PK kicking
soccer right, like you know, jump left.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
You know, hopefully he doesn't kick it right.
Speaker 5 (35:33):
You know, you know, at that point, with no safety help,
you kind of got to gamble a little bit. So
Sandra still gambles on the inside and and in full speed.
You got Horton give a little nod to the post
that accentuates that, but not enough to trip up the quarterback.
And now he breaks back to the corner. Unbelievable job
by Kirk uh Kin, Clint Kubiak calling a cover seven beater,
(35:57):
that bracket beater, and then Horton executing it like a
ten year perfect match like like that. That is big
time receiving so at any event, yeah, no, lots to like,
lots to like.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
I mean, you know we heard enough about how you
know the the commanders were missing wide receivers.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Yeah, yeah, you were. They were a misre receivers. I
get that.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
But you're the ones that signed a twenty nine year
old beat up Deebo Samuel and based your life on
you know, McLaurin, et cetera. Seattle was missing guys too,
and other guys stepped up, including Cody White. Later, Okay,
trade deadline tomorrow. There's one weak spot, maybe one and
a half if we want to look at Lucas and
not having the year we thought. Although I've got a
(36:37):
kid I live with, that tells me it's more of
the problem the guy inside that he's having to compensate for.
But he's a tackle, So what am I expecting anyway? Bradford,
Anthony Bradford, can they should they upgrade if possible with
the trade at that position.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
Well, let's just have a level headed argument here, because
I was pretty critical, probably more on Softy Show. I
think I had my most strident critique of Bradford, and
you know, I said, look candidly, I'm an analyst here,
I think out of twenty two starters, Bradford is the lowest.
You know, I'm not here to embarrass people, So you
(37:12):
tell me the language I should use, and I'll say
the softest way I can. But I think he's number
twenty two out of twenty two starters. And you know,
to that end, the Pro Football Focus had him the
seventy out of eighty three qualifying offensive guards.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
This is twenty twenty.
Speaker 5 (37:28):
Last year he had the seventy eighth overall, sixtieth in
run block, but seven and seventy third in past block
out of eighty three qualifiers. Right so, and in theory
there's you should be in the top sixty four if
you're a starting guard, right so. And then now he
sits at he's seventy four out of eighty four eighty
(37:51):
five qualifier for this season. This season, he's seventy fourth
in blocking run block, he's fifty first past block, he's
eighty third out of eighty five. So you know, there
was a you know, a guy in the blogosphere that
early in the summer is like, hey, you want to
take shots at Anthony Bradford.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
That's a you problem or whatever it is.
Speaker 5 (38:12):
You know, somebody got kind of defensive about about Anthony Bradford. Look,
I'm going to stick to everything I've said that I
think that he is the liability on the offensive line
and and he is of twenty two starters, the lowest starter,
and and so if you want to upgrade there, I
(38:33):
think there's an opportunity, you know, if you have an
opportunity to do it now, there there is with this asterisk,
and I know we're up against it. It's different than
acquiring a defensive lineman because defensive linemen are much more
It's an individual. It's like baseball, right, Like you can
plug in a guy halfway through the season much more
(38:54):
so than you can unless the guy has played in
your system and knows your terminology and how you like
to make your checks. So I think you have to
you have to confine yourself to the pool of players
that know Clint Kubiak system. Otherwise you could get a
really good player in somebody else's system. By the time
(39:14):
they really picked up the nuances and the communication, you know,
you could be well into December. So so uh so, yeah,
I think Bradford there, you know, it is what it is.
There's got to be a week link somewhere right, and
I think he's the weak link. So with those with
those thoughts, I would That's how I would approach a
(39:35):
possible upgrade.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Great stuff, my friend. As always, I think more. I
think more for today with you or with Sophty, I
do believe, and we'll talk in a week's time. After
the game against the Cardinals, Thank you, my friend.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
Thanks.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
That is hum mill and hardcore football in the books.
After a huge Seahawks win. Great stuff. We're all, uh,
we're all smarter football wise. After talking to Hugh for
an hour. We'll take a break.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Come back.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
Speaking of getting smarter, how about Mike Sandal from the
Athletic the Return to the Show?

It's time for our Monday visit with Mike Sando of
The Athletic, brought to you by Hunt Services for HVAC, plumbing,
sewer and electrical needs. Get on the horn and call
Hunts or visit Huntservices dot com. Now with Mike Sando,
here's the Infernets.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
Mike Sando joins us right now for the first time
on this show this season. We've had Mike on for
a lot of years. Last past number of years from
The Athletic, he's been doing the morning show, his normal
morning show, Dudsion and football season. And I'll apologize to
Mike on the air. I didn't have much control because
the baseball team, Mike just kept winning and we kept
doing baseball much longer than we're used to in this market,
(41:59):
and with a two hour our show this year, I
didn't have time to There's a lot of guys I
wanted to get on that I normally have on that
we're starting to add back into the mix, and you're
one of them, and I appreciate you coming back on
again this year, even though I blew you off for
the baseball team for a while.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Hey, it's a great cause.
Speaker 4 (42:13):
Welcome.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
I think that had to be back by the way, but
it's a great cause.
Speaker 7 (42:15):
I mean, we love to have the baseball team playing
deep end of the the postseason. So a small price
to pay or the trade off was worth it. Wish
they would have gone to the World Series. But uh,
what a great season, what a great season.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
I just I opened up the old x Twitter here
just a second ago, and I saw you tweeted something
out in response to dan Quinn's press conference today.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Let's start with that. You wrote about it as well
in the Athletic today.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
A lot of people, especially Commanders fans kind of like,
what's going on?
Speaker 2 (42:40):
Why was Jayden and Daniels in there so late? Down
by so many?
Speaker 3 (42:43):
You know, the score and everything like that, And this
isn't a norm like and if this isn't college, right,
like you don't we're not having a JV game where
guys get put in against X number of snaps, right,
So it's it wasn't really out of the ordinary.
Speaker 7 (42:56):
It's not you know, it's not. And I look back
at you know, even when you're down by thirty one,
it's high to pull your quarterback at twelve minutes left
in the game. But maybe that's a change, you know,
maybe maybe teams should do that more. I think a
lot of people want to have a fight to the
finish mentality, and some teams are, hey, you were part
of what got us into this. You got to finish
it out, you know. So we've seen great quarterbacks Tom Brady,
(43:17):
you know, the rare times he was way behind, or
even when they're way ahead, staying in there when as
a fan you're probably looking at it going, well, you
know why, So it's probably something worth you know, talking
about or revisiting. But dan Quinn didn't do anything out
of the ordinary by leaving him in. I think now
that the guy got hurt, I think he's you know,
expressing regret not only for that and saying, hey, I
(43:39):
wish I would have done it differently. And that's probably
the easiest way to move on for him, as opposed
to sticking by his guns and saying, oh, everybody does
it right. I mean, now it's hey, he said I
felt bad, Maya Koppa and there's nothing more to talk about.
I mean, it's it feels as if and I only
bring up Washington because it's the latest team. The Seattle
(43:59):
play playoff team a year ago. Elder kind of an
older team, right, and you kind of just maybe comparing
contrast for our listeners.
Speaker 2 (44:08):
You wrote about this.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
I think it's really interesting because I was talking to
our mid Day guy right when we do our cross
talk segment today, and you know, I was like, God,
what happened to the Commanders and then twelve wins last
season and look at Seattle and different ways to construct
a team with a new head coach Washington maybe wasn't sustainable.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
Is that safe to say?
Speaker 7 (44:25):
Well, they you know, they decided, well, they decided to
go with a lot of older veteran players, and to
their credit, they did not sign most of them to
long term deals, so they've been able to move on,
but they've been old. And I think they felt like, hey,
they got guys that were familiar to Dan Quinn or
other coaches. They were trying to change the culture there quickly.
(44:46):
It had been a really toxic kind of a place
with Dan Snyder all those years. So yeah, they wanted
to bring in guys that were going to be sort
of the acolytes for Dan Quinn. And I think it
worked the first year and they, like I said, they
stayed flexible, but we've also seen them trade for older
veteran players. You know, between Deebo Samuel from the forty
nine ers, Laramie Tunsell from the Texans, and Marshall Latimer
(45:09):
from the Saints. I think I think they traded like
eight draft picks for those three guys, and they're all older.
Marshall Latimer is not that good anymore. Deebo Samuels twenty nine,
you know, has some injury history, and I think Larmie
Tunsel is a good player, but you know, he's an
older tackle. I don't really felt them as much for
Tunsl But you know, when you look at Seattle, it
was getting rid of some veteran players to get draft picks.
(45:32):
So you're you're moving on from Geno Smith, You're moving
on from DK Metcap, and then you are maybe targeting
some cheaper veterans. You know, DeMarcus Lawrence, who or even
Cooper Cup wasn't that cheap. But they're guys who maybe
are mentors for your younger players and set the tone
by how they play. But you're really filling that roster
(45:54):
with you know, Arroyo at tight end, Horton at wide receiver.
You know Gray's abel on the offensive line. They already
had a Byron Murphy up front, right, They've got Witherspoon
a corner, some younger players there. That makes you have
a little bit more of a future with the same
guys you can build around.
Speaker 3 (46:13):
Like Santo Jonius from the Athletic, what's your overall assessment,
thirty thousand feet looking around. You've covered and been around
this team for a long time living in our area,
even though you cover the NFL nationally. Mike McDonald and
his team this second year.
Speaker 7 (46:27):
Well, there's been a couple of hiccups, but for the
most part, I feel like they really are taking a
next step, that the frustrations of last season are largely gone.
Now they've had a hiccup or two here, I think
they've still got to beat the forty nine ers in RAMS.
I think that's going to be what sort of puts
it over the top. Right, there's no doubt that they're
(46:49):
on the right track, and I think there's no doubt
that they're a top eight team in the NFL. Now,
let's go beat the forty nine ers in the RAMS,
which is hard for them to do, and I think
if they do that.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
It really makes the year.
Speaker 7 (47:06):
Validates everything this year in terms of where they're at.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
You wrote about the AFC. I'm going to get to
the AFC in a second, but the NFC.
Speaker 3 (47:13):
I just we were watching the game a handful of
people yesterday and conversation came up, like who the who
the favorite in the NFC is, And I said, well, gosh,
you know, I think the I think the Lions are there.
Then they lose the Vikings, the Packers, I'm thinking, but
then they lose Tucker Kraft and it doesn't feel like
there's a lot of weapons right now for Jordan Love either.
Something off there with that particular team. You know, the
(47:34):
forty nine Ers have a zillion injuries, they just keep
winning their six and three. The Rams look to me
like maybe the best team. I'm sorry, Seahawks, but the
Rams look like they're the elite team along the way.
You just kind of look around this league. Sure, I
guess the Eagles will come into play too at six
and two, But the Bucks seem to be good, but
we've seen them have a couple blemishes and handicapped. The NFC.
(47:55):
Is it wide open this year?
Speaker 7 (47:57):
I think it is pretty open. I think that there's
no team that's proven themselves to be, you know, just
a juggernaut every week. Now, Philly could get there by
the end, but I think they've had They made a
trade today by the way, too, got Jalan Phillips from
the from the Dolphins. So they're continuing to push as
they always do, and they find a way, you know
they'll be there.
Speaker 4 (48:15):
But I do I agree with you.
Speaker 7 (48:16):
I feel like if you're a team like Seattle or Tampa,
you're looking at some of these teams that have been
the heavyweights in recent years, Philly, Detroit, you know, to
some extent, the Rams and definitely the forty nine ers,
and you're like, you know, it's not going to be
a big upset if they if we beat those guys, right, Yeah,
that's what I feel like. I feel like Seattle still
has to do it to be in that class. Those
(48:38):
teams have been there, They've been the championship games. You
not Tampa, not as much after Tom Brady, but they've
been a you know, they've won in the playoffs. I
think Seattle still has to win in the playoffs to
get there. But I don't see any reason why they couldn't.
Speaker 3 (48:50):
Mike, is it still. I mean, it just seems like
health has to be so much in this league. I mean,
and one or two key injuries can just be catastrophic.
I mentioned you know who thought Tucker craft injury would
be catastrophic for the Packers, but it certainly is a
massive hit for them. I'm thinking of the Bengals, you know, preseason,
you know, ten and a half, ten point five percent
chance to win the conference right nothing now, and it
(49:13):
not just Joe Burrow, but the defense can't stop anybody.
But it's just a weird year of injuries. Same thing Ravens.
It's not just Lamar, but Lamar was a big piece
of it along the way. Just a strange year, especially
with big injuries. I think so, But I feel like
we say that every other year. You know, I do
think that injuries are just part of the game. And
some years, you know, certain teams are hit harder than others,
(49:33):
and you hope you get some guys back.
Speaker 7 (49:35):
You know, Arizona's activating a two or three guys now
for this game tonight, including their first round pick, a
defensive linemen. So you know, you know, the the Ravens
have welcome back. They're one of their tight ends, and
they've got their full back back and their quarterbacks. So
you know, you're you're gonna have to weather some times round,
you know, throughout the year.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
And Scales had to too.
Speaker 7 (49:57):
I mean they've had half two you know, three fourths
for their secondary a out and so you've just got
to be able to you know, get through and try
to be healthy.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
At the right time.
Speaker 7 (50:06):
So who's really got it in December is what matters
the most.
Speaker 3 (50:11):
Yeah, there's I mean, the Kansas Cincinnati thing's just kind
of a dumpster fire, right, That's just it's that is
what it is. Indianapolis. Do you believe in the Colts.
Speaker 7 (50:21):
I believe in the Colts as a team that could
win a playoff game, you know, maybe maybe more than one.
I don't think that they're you know that their quarterback
is necessarily dynamic, But I think they're good on the lines.
I think they're well coached. They have a really good back.
The quarterback can run the offense. I think he's sharp.
(50:41):
They can handle a lot of stuff, you know, before
the line of scrimmage, that sort of a thing. So
I do think that they could, you know, certainly win
a playoff game.
Speaker 2 (50:51):
I don't think that.
Speaker 7 (50:52):
They've inititarily go to the super Bowl, but they're certainly
better than they've been.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
Denver's a weird team. He wrote about these guys that
they I guess they just win close games. That what
Denver does just like win went close for the most part.
Speaker 7 (51:04):
I mean, you know, they've lost a couple of them too,
but they have a six game win streak where, uh,
you know, I believe they're you know, their total point
differential in that is like fifty five points.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
We'll do the maths on that.
Speaker 7 (51:17):
For six wins, you're not exactly blowing a bunch.
Speaker 2 (51:19):
Of people out.
Speaker 7 (51:19):
And I think forty five of that is in two
of the games, So they've had a they've four of
their six game Four of their wins in the six
game streak were by ten total points. And I think
you can see when you're down nineteen nothing to the
Giants and somehow score thirty three in the fourth court,
probably not a sustainable formula. But you know, I think
they're good on defense, they're pretty good on offense, and
(51:41):
they're probably you know, could win a playoff game too.
Speaker 3 (51:44):
I think it makes just for a great year. Is
kind of my summary. And just wrote you wrote today,
and just having the conversation, I think it's just a
fun year, Like it feels like forever it's been all right,
bills and Chiefs, and hell, we may get to Bills
and Chiefs again in the AFC. Right, that maybe end
up what we having in Philadelphia and the Rams or
philadel in the forty nine ers. Maybe that's what we
end up having. It just feels like it's from a
fans perspective and standpoint, just feels like it's a lot
(52:06):
more maybe competitive, maybe balanced.
Speaker 2 (52:09):
However we want to look at it this year, right, yep.
Speaker 7 (52:11):
And I think from a Seattle standpoint, it feels like
there's more hope because it's a new team with a
new formula, right. I mean, you got this new quarterback
who's doing really well, a great fit for them. I
think the second year coach is hitting his stride. It's
not just ten years into the Pete Carroll regime, right,
it's a it really feels like they've got something here,
(52:32):
and you think the ceiling could go higher.
Speaker 3 (52:35):
Final thing for you, Mike, I'm just the Pete Carroll
thing in Vegas and you can only do so much
depending on your personnel. And I think we all understand that.
But watching that and I love the fact they went
for two yesterday. They get the ball and then you
know has the ball a bat it down at the
line of on the two point conversion. But they fall
thirty twenty nine to the Jaguars and what hell of
(52:56):
an entertaining game. But you know, Seahawk fans were watching
from afar. My son mentioned to me, is this hurting
Pete's legacy? I don't know, but it's just you've covered
the league for a long time. It's different ownership, it's
a different city. But what inherently is wrong with the Raiders.
Speaker 7 (53:13):
I think that they didn't have a very good roster,
and then I'm not sure on the fit with the
coordinators and Pete. And this is just you know, Pete
didn't bring back the band, which is probably good too.
You don't want to just have all the same guys
you've always gotten jobs for, so to speak, but you know,
(53:34):
to have Chip Kelly there as a six million dollar coordinator.
Reportedly Patrick Graham was a holdover with New England Ties.
I think those guys are good coaches, but it feels
to me like, you know, they're not all It's not
a cohesive everything. Yet I think also when you're so
reliant on churning the culture of where you go, I
(53:56):
don't think that happens overnight. It may not happen at
all with a team like the Raid. And it took
Pete time in Seattle too, seven to nine twice. And
that's with a you know, it wasn't like Seattle had
a horrific culture or a bad owner or anything. It's
just hard to do and so he may not get
it there. He may not at the time there to
turn it and get all the players he wants. He's
(54:17):
going to be seventy five next year.
Speaker 3 (54:18):
It's a great point too, because it's yes, they went
to the playoffs that first year, but they were seven
and nine, and that was with a lot of the
old Guard and Marshawn coming into town midway through the season.
But it wasn't until some of those young guys they
drafted started taking hold with Bobby and you know, cam Earle,
you know that group, and Sherman all those guys on defense,
(54:39):
and that's when it kind of started taking old and
it did. It didn't happen over night. Twenty eleven wasn't
a lot of fun for the Seahawks with Pete so
but yeah, at the age of seven, man, I'll tell
you right now, seventy five, I hope like hell I'm retired.
But good good for him. I would urge people to
read the Pick six column. By the way, there's some
kicker love sort of in that column today. Yeah, some
kicker love. It makes a different Good kickers make a difference,
(55:01):
not just cam Little. By the way, there's some other
kicker love in there. Unfortunately it's for the forty nine ers.
You can read that in Mike's calm.
Speaker 2 (55:06):
Thank you, my friend. We'll talk to you next week.
Speaker 7 (55:08):
Thank you, appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (55:09):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
That's Mike Sandal joining us here is he will every
Monday from now on to the rest of the NFL season.
Love Hown Santa Wan I mentioned earlier's get to a
quick daily power play.
Speaker 8 (55:21):
Tea Shuck Short.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
Been here at Tegloe Backer Now man, peace go. This
is the daily power play Hockey Baby.
Speaker 1 (55:35):
On your home for the Kraking Sports Radio ninety three
point three kJ R FM.
Speaker 6 (55:42):
Set.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
The Daily power Play is brought to you by Sakwahonda Caboda,
the largest inventory of Kuboda equipment named Kane County. Now
your daily look at the National Hockey League and the
Seattle Kraken with the Infernets.
Speaker 3 (56:00):
All right, Daily Power playing your home for the crack
and Night three point three ks r FM. The Chicago
Blackhawks in town for the first time this season, featuring
Connor Badar, the kind of phenom from a couple of
years ago.
Speaker 2 (56:10):
Number one overall pick.
Speaker 3 (56:10):
He's having a hell of a season, by the way,
uh living up to that number one overall billing. He
on his line Ryan Green, You're like, Who's Ryan Green?
Doesn't matter the other side of his line. Andre Burakowski,
the former Seattle Kraken who missed a lot of time
when he was here. Unfortunately, never really kind of saw
the real player. Never was healthy. Last year was healthy,
but never kind of got it. Going under one and
(56:32):
done head coach Dan Biossma. He is thriving this season.
Is Burukowski in Chicago with the Blackhawks. He's back in
town and Mike Benton was there along with some others
to greet him today.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
We talked to Laris this morning about you a little bit.
If you had a chance to hang out with them,
say hi last time over dinner or anything else.
Speaker 4 (56:50):
Yeah, I went to dinner with this guy.
Speaker 6 (56:55):
Yeah, all right, yeah I went. I went and had
dinning with Maddie and Schwartzy and encountering. So it was
it was good catch up for sure. Talked to him
and the doing and I'm just you know, bring up
all memories and have fun.
Speaker 3 (57:18):
Here Berkowski doing the interview there with our own Mike Benton.
You'll hear all of it on pregames tonight at sixty bister.
He that was Maddy been the years and George James
Schwartz coming in and interrupting the interview for a second.
Very popular player in the locker room. Guys really liked him.
I know fans were frustrated by burkeye and the fact
he couldn't get on the ice. Trust me, players that
aren't playing in any sport, it's not like they want
(57:40):
to be hurt. Nobody wants to be hurt. Nobody wants
to be hurt. When he was on the ice, wasn't
effective as he probably well certainly is his contract and
has everybody expected. I'd be interested to see what he
would have done this year Underlayne Lappert. I think I
think last year there's a lot of things that happened
(58:00):
last year were a product of what was going on
behind the bench, and it's just a better staff this season.
Assistant coaches schnee Cloth and Taylor and head coach Lane Lambert,
they've just done a much better job along the way
seven o'clock dropping the pack six point thirty pre game.
The captain Mark Benton will be there. He was there
this morning at the morning skate being Benton. He's all
fired up, ready to go, and Cracking are still unbeaten
(58:24):
in regulation at home this year. I think we're still
if you're new to the sport, you're still getting used
to the If you want to call it a loser point, fine,
but in hockey you get that point for getting overtime.
Seattle's been to overtime six times this year. It happens
a lot, and they're squeaking points out. That's all that
(58:47):
matters right now. Loss is bad, points good, but they
need to get to tonight.
Speaker 2 (58:52):
Good Chicago team.
Speaker 3 (58:53):
This isn't the bad teams that have been here the
last few years of Chicago, but Dard and others, it's
a good, good team.
Speaker 9 (59:00):
Just seems like they have fresh blood, like they yeah, yes.
Speaker 3 (59:04):
Yeah, Anyklaane's just done a You know, Santa was just
talking about with with with culture in the NFL, and
I think you know what we saw as it progressed
last year with Mike McDonald. Like the Seahawks at the
start of last season, we're not the Seahawks at the
end last season. Much better team by the end of
the year. Ye, we're seeing that with Lane. I mean
it's it's a longer season with eighty two games. Then
(59:24):
he's a good coach and he's establishing some things. He's
also no nonsense. There's also accountability that maybe hasn't existed
for a couple of years. But they need to get
a they need to get two points tonight, so we'll
see if they can do it. All right, Well, take
a break four nine four five one. That is the
still unrestricted free agent text line four nine four or
five one texting your thoughts, comics, questions and concerns after
the Seahawks big win yesterday. We'll get to those, and
(59:45):
then we've got then we've got yes, ladies and gentlemen,
fact or fiction coming up as well.
Speaker 9 (59:55):
Hey, I facted this week.
Speaker 2 (59:57):
Just did get a fact yes.
Speaker 9 (59:59):
Ahead of or at least time with Jackson.
Speaker 3 (01:00:02):
Yes, you've got a fact, Andrews and I. I got
a fact and I got two fictions. So we'll get
to all that coming up next.
Speaker 4 (01:00:29):
From the R and R.
Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
Foundation Specialist Broadcast Studio. Now back to he in Fernez
powered by Seapple's closest sports book Snow call me Casino
and Hotel on Sports Radio ninety three point three kJ
R f M.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
All right, we'll get to factor fiction in just a moment.
Let's get a little text messages in four nine, four
or five one. That is the unrestricted free agent text
line three six. Oh, jess, I'm not just I'll answer
for anyway. Programming question, Yeah, programming questions. No show was
really talking about it today. Is a Sounder's playoff game
on nine to fifty nine or just Sounders channel on
iHeart jess uh.
Speaker 10 (01:01:09):
That is streaming only, so download the iHeartRadio app. It's
super easy to use, very user friendly and you can
hear it right there.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
The the MLS.
Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
We had Christian rolled on on our pregame show for
TV on Saturday. Him and he and Alex were there
doing the stuff before the game. Let's go cracking the
little deal they do up in the I love that
at the arena and beautiful Christians Baby, beautiful, beautiful child
wife they were there. But man, the MLS just screwed
(01:01:43):
up with the plate. The paywall on Apple TV is
just an absolute moronic move.
Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
It's just so bad.
Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
It just you're out of sight, out of mind and
this town. I mean, I like it because we have
a TV game for hockey tonight, so I mean people
watch that after the NFL if or whatever happened in
that game. I mean it just but if like, I
hate not being I'm just not going to pay to
watch the MLS. But I'd call myself a casual soccer fan,
but I'm just not gonna pay.
Speaker 9 (01:02:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. I think we all use
Andrews's account.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Oh he has a share with me.
Speaker 10 (01:02:18):
He he is already locked in on our studio things.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
Our buddy, our buddy Keith Miller, money and football too bad.
YouTube TV scribs won't be able to watch. So I'm
not a YouTube guy. Are you a YouTube person?
Speaker 9 (01:02:32):
Uh? No, I have alternate methods of watching.
Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
Oh that's right, you're you're going to keep that to.
Speaker 3 (01:02:36):
Yourself, I said alternate. So so YouTube TV dropped. They're
in a big battle right now with ESPN. Right, so
there's no.
Speaker 9 (01:02:46):
Man, I that's sayings good. My brother's a YouTube guy.
Speaker 10 (01:02:51):
He does YouTube TV, and you can pretty much watch
anything and now.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
You except for ABC and ESPN and Disney, right.
Speaker 9 (01:02:58):
Exactly it used to be.
Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
I did chuckle.
Speaker 3 (01:03:01):
There was a note the other day that, you know,
the statement because both sides will put out statements, you know,
like who's who's to blame here?
Speaker 9 (01:03:07):
Yep, yep, yeah, And I liked how fighting fire with
paper Yes.
Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
Well, ESPN slash ABC slash Disney yep, all the same
thing put out the you know, we're really disappointed in
Google slash YouTube and basically call them greedy, you know,
billionaire company blah blah blah. Well like they aren't like
pot Kettle, are you kidding, right, pot Kettle?
Speaker 10 (01:03:27):
Hey, listen on those uh, you know, twenty dollars.
Speaker 9 (01:03:30):
Paychecks I used to get.
Speaker 10 (01:03:31):
Mickey Mouse was right on the signature line.
Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
Crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Uh yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
I just like, like, so you're complaining, Let's see two
three already pay for Apple Plus, but they charge ex
for mls.
Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
Yeah, on the same way.
Speaker 3 (01:03:47):
And I'm now now I finally got out of the
Apple Plus world because I was well because I was
doing that because of the Heidi and I did it
for a year and all I did was watch like
three baseball games on There's some good shows. Somebody said
the Sounders games on FS one tonight. Is that true?
Speaker 4 (01:04:01):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (01:04:02):
On television, I'm only focused on radio.
Speaker 3 (01:04:05):
Cool two five three, cool thing about the NHL. They
put it on TV, so I have to hut down.
Were to watch it?
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:04:10):
Crazy crazy you put it on television. If you put
something on wait for it, Jess television, they might watch
it on television.
Speaker 2 (01:04:19):
I watched on television.
Speaker 9 (01:04:20):
We want to listen to Jackson felt.
Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
Yes we do game, Yes we do. Yes.
Speaker 3 (01:04:25):
Saying we use saying we all use our co workers
account of stream things is really smart things, san lebrity.
Speaker 9 (01:04:30):
You know I'm super smart.
Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
Everyone shares everything, shares account.
Speaker 10 (01:04:35):
Just to clarify, andrews logged into his account on our
station thing and so that's what I mean.
Speaker 9 (01:04:42):
Like we all use it when we're not watching it. No,
I don't, but I do listen to.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
TV police streaming.
Speaker 9 (01:04:49):
Police out there appreciate that text.
Speaker 3 (01:04:51):
Then it's cowboys cardinals. We're not missing much. I agree
with that. We're not Y was not even playing.
Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
All right, let's get to it. Factor Fiction. We're set
to go. Glad you're with us.
Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
It's your shirt, weekly thousand bucks and the ten thousand
dollars grand prize. It's Factor Fiction, probably presented by Lucky
Eagle Casino and Hotel where every Day Feels Lucky. Factor
Fiction is on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
Fact or Fiction brought to you by the Lucky Eagle
Casino and Hotel, Every Day Feels Lucky. We're going twenty
four every Friday and Saturday. Twenty four gaming starts November
seventh at Lucky Eagle dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
That would be on Friday.
Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
That'd be the day after the game I'm picking, by
the way, which is coming up on Thursday Night Football.
On the sixth of November, Raiders are in Denver to
take on the Broncos, a classic AFC West matchup. Problem
is one team's awful and the other team's really good.
The Raiders go in there at two and six on
the season. The Broncos just keep winning. Now, they've been
winning a lot of close games, as we said there
with our friend Mike Sandal, but this ain't gonna be close.
(01:05:53):
This ain't gonna be close. Broncos are favored by nine
and a half. I'm taking Denver minus nine and a half.
I'm chasing on a Thursday, Jess, I'm chasing on a Thursday.
I need to win. Why do I need to win?
I know, well, based on last week. You know if
I'm going back by the way Georgia Tech minus six
versus NC State. NC State won that out right. I
(01:06:13):
would take that game again though, win a heart beat.
Speaker 9 (01:06:17):
I liked it.
Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
I'd take that game and a heart beat.
Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
The fat fighting chazzs I Georgia Tech, Kames King, I
would have taken that again.
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
Didn't happen.
Speaker 3 (01:06:25):
You were a winner with the forty nine ers over
the Giants minus two and a half.
Speaker 9 (01:06:29):
Good call picking against New York for once.
Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
I was a winner with Oklahoma and money line Matier
plus three and a half against the Balls of Tennessee.
They won that game outright, even though he couldn't throw
the ball worth a damn. They ran the ball down
the Tennessee. They ran the ball. They averaged six yards
of carry if you take all the sack numbers. They
aged six yards to carry at Oklahoma in that game
against Tennessee. Wow, I'm running the football, So I take
(01:06:54):
that one. Andrews minus Kansas City minus two and a
half a buffalo. I hated when he made the pick.
It was reflected in the numbers. Only fifty three percent
agreed with him. Bad pick by Andrews. We can throw
himder the bus because he's not here this week.
Speaker 9 (01:07:07):
He's probably listening on his way to the Hawaii.
Speaker 3 (01:07:09):
Bennett Now, thank me later. Miami minus ten and a
half at SMU. I took MJ in the mid days.
Miami Hurricanes at SEMU not only did not cover, they
lost the game. Yeah yeah, and seventy five percent of
the people agreed. Why because MG in the midday has
been shoving Miami Hurricanes stuff down your throat. And I
bought it, but I would probably wouldn't take that. Would
(01:07:30):
be the one I wouldn't take it again. The rest
of them the other one I would take it, all right.
So again this week I'm going with the Broncos minus
nine and a half at home. They're gonna have to
win by ten or more against the Raiders. The Raiders
are awful. That's a bad football team.
Speaker 9 (01:07:43):
They're really bad. It makes me sad because I root
for Pete, you know, and I have nothing against Gino.
Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
And I know the only one they lost by one yesterday,
I had a chance to win it at the end.
That's because Jacksonville is not very good. Remember when I
told those guys in Jacksonville their quarterback's not very good.
Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
He's not very good. He's not very good. Your quarterbacks
not good.
Speaker 9 (01:08:00):
No, he's not very good.
Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
Her Laurence Sunshine there is not very good.
Speaker 9 (01:08:04):
He looks good.
Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
Yeah, although Bronck Bowers on the bananas yesterday, woo. But Gino
still Gino. He is still Gino, and he's seeing a
really good defense this week in Denver. It's gonna be
bad mile High.
Speaker 9 (01:08:17):
All right, the pick one more time.
Speaker 3 (01:08:19):
Broncos minus nine and a half at home against the
Raiders Thursday Night Football. You can hear it right here
on ninety three point three KJFM Chasing.
Speaker 2 (01:08:26):
We're chasing.
Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
Text fact to four nine, four to five one if
you agree, text fiction to four nine four or five
to one.
Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
If you disagree.
Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
You're trying to win a thousand dollars week we prize,
ten thousand dollars grand prize.
Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
That's what we do.
Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
Now, I know I'm not having a great year, So
maybe fiction is the play at four nine, four to
five one.
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
But you just want to win a thousand dollars, it
doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
Yeah, and if you're trying to win ten thousand dollars
are going I hate when for Nest picks because I
just don't know where to go because he's been wrong
a lot this year, but sometimes he makes picks.
Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
I like this one's a good fact.
Speaker 10 (01:08:57):
I would just go with your brain on this one
instead of your heart.
Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
Just understand Geno sucks. Just understand that. That's all you
need to know. Prob's gonna kick his ass. Sean Payne's
gonna just Sean Payne's gonna run it up on him.
Let's go, all right, four nine, four to five one.
Text in right now, Fact or fiction? Dave Softy Moller
will join us, Coming up next, All right, Dave Softy
(01:09:47):
Maller joins us right now.
Speaker 8 (01:09:49):
Yes, sorry, I'm enjoined some chowder here at Jimmy's.
Speaker 4 (01:09:54):
So I was just sounding in the air.
Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
Sounds good. How's the chowder? There's good?
Speaker 4 (01:09:58):
I'm good. Yeah, yeah, thank you appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (01:10:01):
What's going on? What's going on? Jimmy Day? The baseball
stadium's empty.
Speaker 8 (01:10:05):
Are you serious that there was Game eight of the
World Series tonight? Hey, Andyatma Moto was starting.
Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
Probably for a complete game too.
Speaker 8 (01:10:13):
No, it's Sounders Minnesota tonight. Man MLS playoffs. Okay, there
you go, Come on, dude, get with the time.
Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
I jolled, boob, what was it later game? Are you
gonna stick around seven forty five? That's awful?
Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
That's bed time all.
Speaker 8 (01:10:27):
I'm gonna I'm actually going home tonight and I'm gonna
watch Well, I might, I might stream it on the
iHeart app, but I'm gonna I'm gonna watch a little
Husky basketball at eight o'clock tonight after the crack and
start at seven.
Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 4 (01:10:39):
You're welcome.
Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 8 (01:10:41):
Were you turning it off when that weird looking Canadian
comes on TV?
Speaker 3 (01:10:45):
Good call, That's what I would do too. In fact,
basically the numbers tell us the same right now, Just.
Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
So gnarly man, it's awful.
Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
What were you streussed on Saturday for the baseball game?
How was what was your emotional.
Speaker 8 (01:10:56):
I was very happy that Toronto lost, but I found
myself from a weird, weird state of mind and that
I actually was so shocked by what I saw, like
shocked by what I saw on Saturday night that I actually,
for about three or four minutes until Twitter set me straight,
meaning replies from Blue Jay fans, kind of felt bad
(01:11:17):
for them because I could never imagine going through that.
I think that pain, the pain that they felt on
Saturday night way worse, way worse than what we felt
in Game seven on that Monday here at Jimmy's watching
that game to be eight outs away versus four strikes
away from a World Series title. And look, I realized
(01:11:38):
that Toronto's won it before. But you know, for all
intents and purposes, if you're in your mid thirties to
late thirties, you don't remember that at all. I was
thirty years ago, had no idea, right like you know
the Guardians. You know, Indian fans can at least talk
to grandpa and grandma about what the World Series was like.
But that was eighty years ago that they won that
freaking thing, so they got no idea.
Speaker 4 (01:11:59):
Man. So I I actually felt bad for a little bit.
Speaker 8 (01:12:02):
And then I went online and I saw these trash
talking sons of bitch clowns from Toronto yap in their
freaking mouths and say, you know what, I'm done. Screw you, guys.
I'm glad you lost. And I rubbed it in the
entire night. I can taste it. They can taste it,
just like we tasted it.
Speaker 4 (01:12:18):
It was.
Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
It was an interesting night at the old Climate Plage
Arena while that game was going on because we're in
the uh, we're doing our stuff up in the space
needle lounger right by it. I guess we can look
at we can't see well, I mean, you know where
our said is this up there? And you're looking to
left and the place like after the first intermission, like
the first period, it was empty. First intermission, everybody goes
in there, and that was about the eighth inning I
(01:12:41):
think of the game, and the place was packed until
the game ended, which was the start of the third period.
Like no one was like second period, and I found
my I was interested because it's the first time I
can remember in a long time people in this town
being invested in the World Series like they were invested
in the World Series and some of them, a lot
of them just hated Toronto because of our series with them, right,
(01:13:03):
That's part of it. But they were invested in the
World Series and it was wild, like looking across watching
the reaction and I saw kind of like this crazy
shuffling and all this kind of stuff, and I'm like,
what the hell just happened? And my butt, our photographer
Chance shows me the toenail on home plate that saved
the season for the Dodgers. I'm like, you know, if
nothing else as a hell of a series for baseball,
(01:13:25):
that maybe needs a shot in the arm, because well.
Speaker 8 (01:13:27):
Here's what I said after Game seven, man, And I
feel like it even more now than ever. And I
realized that we go through gaps when the Mariners are
good and then they're terrible for twenty years. They're good,
they're terrible for twenty years, So you almost have to
kind of like restart the engine a little bit in
this city. I feel like baseball has arrived again in
Seattle after what we went through. Right with the idea
(01:13:49):
that people were that pissed off at Toronto, they were
that angry at Houston, they were that into the season,
they were that into the World Series games that don't
even impact them, I think baseball is kind of back
in the in the city of Seattle and I'm really
curious to see what it means, you know, tangibly for
ticket sales and TV ratings and things like that. So
you know, nobody's ever you know, expecting Baseball to outdraw
(01:14:11):
the NFL. What's the ten thousand pound animal. I get that,
but I mean, yeah, I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:14:15):
I was.
Speaker 8 (01:14:16):
I was totally invested in the World Series, and I
told myself I wasn't going to watch a minute of it,
and I lied, I watched a lot of it.
Speaker 4 (01:14:22):
Well, a ton of it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
I think we're invested, and I think they've bought themselves
a lot of goodwill. Has that front office as long
as the resigned.
Speaker 4 (01:14:29):
Nailor, Well, they gotta do more than that.
Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
No, No, I agree, I agree. But if if yours
is there, it starts there.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
It has to like that is just a absolute must,
one hundred percent. And I was. I was talking to
our guy J. T. Brown on the broadcast today and
he said, he says, what if what if?
Speaker 4 (01:14:47):
Fat?
Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
Because you know, we're talking about like.
Speaker 3 (01:14:48):
What it would cost, right, And I said, well, it's
probably five for twenty one hundred million dollar contract and
the guy's earned it his first year free agencies. A
fool not to wait to see what the market is.
He says, what happens if someone like the or the
Mets comes in and offers him five for one hundred
and fifty, or like just some stupid contract and the
Mariners just say we can't do it, then what are
(01:15:09):
we feeling here in Seattle?
Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
If that happens.
Speaker 8 (01:15:11):
I don't think there's anything reasonable that he could be
offered that the Mariners cannot match or should not match.
Speaker 4 (01:15:16):
Honestly, good quick.
Speaker 8 (01:15:18):
Million, thirty million dollars a year for Josh Naylor is
to me, it's it's not ridiculous. I mean, it's a
little bit over market, maybe maybe a little bit overpriced.
But for what he did in Seattle and the way
he hits the ball at that park and what he
meant to that clubhouse, I think he means I think
he's worth more to Seattle than he is any other.
Speaker 4 (01:15:38):
Team of the game.
Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
I agree with you. I agree with you, And.
Speaker 4 (01:15:40):
They're ever going to overpay for somebody. It's that guy.
I mean, what more do you need to see? And
guess what thirty million dollars in twenty.
Speaker 8 (01:15:47):
Twenty six may feel like a lot of money, it's
not gonna be a lot of money in twenty twenty eight,
for twenty twenty nine for kidney.
Speaker 3 (01:15:53):
Not for an organization that in twenty twenty four, not
this year, but in twenty twenty four without a playoff
run netted the fourth highest amount of money in Major
League base righted.
Speaker 4 (01:16:03):
Look, it's time. This okay, it's time.
Speaker 8 (01:16:06):
It's time for them to put everything else above uh
and that means winning the World Series is the only
thing that should matter. I told Dick and Jackson the
other day. I want John Stanton to wake up and
when he eats his rice crispies want to I want
him to see the shape of a World Series logo
in his milk when he goes to bed at night,
when he looks outside and sees the clouds forming, I
(01:16:27):
want him to see the World Championship trophy and the clouds.
I want this guy to walk around like Chris Farley
and Essental just thinking where else saires wireld saies like
a freaking robot.
Speaker 4 (01:16:38):
And if he's not doing that, then he's not the
right guy to lead this organization. Period.
Speaker 8 (01:16:42):
End of story. I don't want to hear it anymore.
I'm done lose money if you have to sell the farm.
I don't give a crap. Only thing that matters is
the window they're in right now. God, I'm already pissed off.
It's not even three o'clock.
Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
Already I was envisioned him being a grape nuts guy.
Speaker 9 (01:16:57):
Literally almost just said that outloud.
Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
I'm not sure he's rice Chrispies guy. Maybe he might be.
Speaker 4 (01:17:03):
He might be a honey nut Cheerios guy for all
we know.
Speaker 3 (01:17:07):
And you know what if he doesn't sign Josh Nailer,
you know he buys a generic brand as well.
Speaker 8 (01:17:11):
Okay, let's see a little more and four with Hugh,
a little fun with audio. Jackson Bevans is gonna come out.
We're gonna ask Jackson Bevans. He is the leader of
the Geno Whites. You know who the Geno Whites are.
That's that group of people that thought getting rid of
Ginosmith for Sam Darnold was a big, big, big, big,
big mistake. So we'll talk to him at five o'clock.
We'll see he's willing to wave the white flag. Jason
(01:17:32):
Hamilton's gonna join at six before Husky basketball starts tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:17:36):
And then your buddy evert fits Hugh from the booth.
He owes to me a steak dinner.
Speaker 8 (01:17:40):
By the way, because the Tigers lost to the Mariners,
so join us right before pregame show starts at six.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
There. He's not in a good mood after that game yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:17:47):
I don't blame him, blame him. We're gonna poke the
bear big.
Speaker 2 (01:17:50):
Time, all right. And then and you're already pissed off.
I did my job.
Speaker 4 (01:17:52):
No, I'm good. Now, I'm good.
Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
No, I've done my job. Set for the mild mannered
and marginally objection the bully and farness.
Speaker 4 (01:18:00):
This is paddle day saying so long everyone
Speaker 1 (01:18:07):
M
