All Right, here we go. Time to talk to our
good friend Greg Cosell. It's one o'clock on a Friday.
We're previewing the big NFC West matchup this weekend, the
Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals. Seahawks have won eight straight
games against Arizona, nine of the last ten dating back
to twenty twenty, so it's been a very Seahawks heavy
series for the last few years. Since the Hawks and

(02:38):
the Cardinals have seen each other since the turn of
twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Should be an interesting one this week.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Arizona coming off a nice win against the Dallas Cowboys.
Seattle going on the road on Sunday Night Football, both

the quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, not Kyler Murray. Oh,
there's a plenty of things to discuss with our good friend,
Grey Cosel. ESPN Matchup, NFL Films. Hello, Greg, how are
you Ian?

Speaker 5 (03:01):
What's happened to my friend? By the way, what was
this last time the Seahawks lost on the road.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Haven't they won ten straight? In incredible number.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
Of road games in a row? Nine or ten?

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Ten straight? Ten straight they've won, yeah, ten straight, they've won.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
Doing this league no matter who you're playing against.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
It is it is very hard to do along the way.
All right, Well, let's uh, let me talk about let's
talk to Cardinals and we'll just talk the matchup for
a second. And I just want to start with Kyler Murray.
And the fact that you know, foot injury, sore foot
or not, doesn't really matter. They're going with Jacoby Brissett.
There's a guy that they paid a lot of money
to in Kyler Murray, and instead they're going and now
they've got injury issues. I think the James Connor injury.

(03:38):
We talked about that the first meeting of the year, right,
that hurt them tremendously, but offensively with what they want
to do. Jacobe pset for Kyler Murray. Let's just talk
about the change they've made at the quarterback position.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Well, the bottom line is is and Kyler Murray is
just not what you'd call a structured player. And for
the most it's hard on a week to week basis
to really play with any sense of refined structure with
your pass game. It can happen once in a while,
but for the most part, he's not that kind of player.

(04:12):
He doesn't play with it with really a subtle sense
of timing and anticipation. There are things he can't see
because of his size. The result is often that there
are some throws that are left on the field because
he either doesn't see them or he doesn't see the
game that way. So he's a very inconsistent player on
a week to week basis for those reasons. Now, Jacoby

(04:32):
Brissette does have his own set of issues, which is
one reason why he's never really become a full time
starter anywhere he's been. But at least he has a
much better sense of how to execute the structured passing game.
And I think that my sense, I don't know this,
My sense is they're probably not unhappy that they're going
to go to the next four games with Jacoby Brissett

(04:55):
because I think you'll see you'll probably see Marvin Harrison
being more involved as he's certainly he was in the
game on Monday Night in the first quarter. I think
he had five receptions ending with that touchdown where he
made Bland just look silly, and he just gives the receivers,
I think, a better overall feel for when they run
their routes that the ball might come to them.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
I'm gonna I've heard the discussion about and we're living
in this world, and maybe I think it's more so
this year than past years. But whether it's Sam Darnold
last year and then moving into this year, so he's
done it for two years in a row, Mac Jones
and what he's done in San Francisco, Daniel Jones, what
he's done in Indianapolis. I hear this a lot. There's

(05:35):
this I don't know call it a narrative, but it's
just kind of a thing we hear. This is kind
of one of the themes, I guess this year of
the NFL as quarterbacks that have you not done well
somewhere else and have found a new home and have
done well. Baker Mayfield, we talked about him earlier this
year when the Seahawks played them. They they all seem,
though different than how you just described Kyler Murray. Those

(05:56):
guys all feel like they can play, as you said,
within a structure as opposed to Murray. So whatever the
next step is for Kyler Murray, it feels like he's
a little bit different than those other guys I just described.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
Well, he is because there's certain limitations that he can't overcome,
the main one being his size. So now that doesn't
mean he can't play at all, but when all is
said and done, it's very hard to play in this
league at that size and be effective consistently from the pocket,
and you really have to be in this league. Now

(06:29):
there's degrees of success in the pocket. Does he have
to play in the pocket like Tom Brady in order
to be successful, No, of course not. But he still
needs on a week two week basis to be able
to function effectively from the pocket and make throws in
those what we call critical, high level, high leverage situations,
whether it's third and nine, whether it's you know, second

(06:49):
and eight in you know, in the fourth quarter. I mean,
and it's very hard to live making plays by running around. Now, granted,
teams practice that, and there's no question that someone like
Mahomes who's an absolute master at it, you know, but
still it's it's very hard for that to be well,
it can't be the foundation of your offense and don't

(07:10):
forget and who knows what's gonna happen on I'm not
overly familiar with his contract situation. I know we signed
one not that long ago. My guess is he probably
has at least a couple of years where it would
be an absolute killer if they chose not to play him,
but or to get rid of him. But Jonathan Gannon,
and again he has to win games as well, but

(07:31):
he didn't draft him, and you know, I don't know
how he feels about him, but my sense is that
they're probably more comfortable with Jacoby Brissett.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Well, let's let's talk about Persett in that offense you
just mentioned Marvin Harrison junior. You know there there are
a lot of terms being tossed around with him earlier
this year, you know, bust being one of those along
the way because of his raph position and the expectations
coming out of college. I'm always a big fan of
sometimes the receiver, you know, can't throw the ball to himself,
right like that that. I haven't seen that. Maybe that
does happen, but as you just mentioned, he looked like

(08:03):
a different player with Brissette throwing to him. So let's talk,
because I think that's their offense without a James Conner
right now, right yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
I mean they need to be able to run the
ball to some degree. Bam Knight seems to be their
feature back. I remember evaluating him coming out of college.
He's one of those, you know, grinders who can get
your tough yards. He's not really an explosive player, but
if you can stay on schedule, then he can be
effective and he can help you do that. But ultimately,
you know they're going to have to throw the football.

(08:32):
And you know Marvin Harrison again, it's always easy to
say a player is and you know how people are
quick to respond because of what he did in college
where he was drafted. He was the first receiver chosen.
I think it was the fourth pick in the draft
of memory serves me correctly, And he certainly didn't look
like he was as good as Malik Neighbors, for instance.
But you know, I think it's difficult to have to

(08:54):
be effective on a week to week basis when Kyler
Maray is your quarterback. Now again, as I said, he
has his own set of issues. He has a tendency
at times to get stuck in the pocket and he's
he is a tendency to be risk averse. So there's
throws that are cleaned by NFL standards that he's just
a little cautious and he might not make those throws,

(09:16):
but when all said and done, at least he has
a feel for the timing and rhythm and the structure
of the pass game. And that's going to make not
only Marvin Harrison a better player and probably targeted more.
And even Michael Wilson, who's not a bad player, came
out of Stanford, you know. So it just and we
know about the tight end is a very good player,
Trey McBride, but it just it just makes their offense

(09:39):
have a better feel to it.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
What is what are the trades for Marvin Harrison jump
off the page at you like when you're watching him
coming out for the draft and even you know, flashes
in the NFL are What are the trades than the
things that kind of make him a guy that was
so highly thought of.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
Very very smooth as a route runner, understood how to
run routes, understood how to set up corners, was able
then to to separate at the top of his rat
stem deceptively fast, not a burner, but a strider. You know,
he's long. Never had a problem with his hands in college.
I know he's dropped a few in the NFL. Never

(10:15):
had a problem with his hands. Now, I wouldn't say
he's a great run after catch guy unless you hit
him in stride and he can just you know, start,
you know, keep going. But but he was just he's big,
he's long. He could separate and he caught the ball
and it just made it look easy. You know, he's
he's a big body. You know, I don't know if

(10:36):
you've seen him in person, but he's he's he he
looks even bigger than he is. You know, he's just
very long.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
Let's talk about what the Seahawk defense is going to
see on that offensive line, talking about the skill guys,
and yeah, Traming Bride is always tight. Ends are a problem.
They always have been for Seattle. Doesn't matter IF's Peter
Mike their problem. They just they just are. But but
let's talk about what they see on that offensive side
of the football. Uh, in terms of you know, pass protection,
I leave kind they've given up twenty nine sacks this
season as well. So let's talk about the Seahawks defense.

(11:05):
Defense up front versus that offensive line.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Yeah, I don't think it's a great old line. I
think this is an area where the Seahawks need to win,
you know, that unit battle, and they've been winning that
unit battle in a lot of games recently. But I
think this is one where for certain they need to
do that. I don't think it's a great old line.
They'll left tackle Paris Johnson was a high pick out
of Ohio State. I did not love him coming out.

(11:29):
I think he's been up and down in the NFL.
They're playing a rookie Isaiah Adams at left guard from Illinois.
I did him coming out as well, you know, solid prospect,
but he's forced to start as a rookie. I don't
think the right side of the offensive line is very good.
I think it's a below average NFL offensive line and
I think that, as I said, is a unit battle

(11:50):
that the Seahawks have to win.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
We want to before we move with the other side
of the football. Should we throw some bouquets and flowers
at the Seahawk defense one more time after what they
did last week to the Commanders.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
I mean, it's it's a really good Now. The question
I have for you because I didn't. You know, it's
what's the status of Ernest Jones?

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Well, Greg is always we'll find out about a half
hour after you and I have this conversation today. But
he has been practicing, so it looks it looks positive
in them.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
That's what I wanted to know. I would I would
assume Job with a concussion probably would not be going.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
It doesn't sound like he's going to play.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
Yeah, because normally guys don't come back from a concussion
in one week. And you know, but what was interesting
is last week, who was the guy that was not
playing until Joe got the concussion was Woolen. So it's
it's interesting, you know, because we had talked. Look, the
film tells all and the film said that Job was
their best corner on the outside.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Well, now they add wollen back in emon Worri played
played well, it looked like and then they we saw
Witherspoon playing on the outside as well. Right, So that
that kind of gives us an idea of what they
want to do. Defensively, Let's just say Wolling in for Job,
Witherspoon there as well. So I mean, they've they've got
some they got some options, and even Warrior seemed to
make an impact last week.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Oh Emn war is just a good player, and he's
only going to get better and better. He's so multi dimensional.
And then Mike McDonald knows that you can see the
way he deploys him. You know, he lines up in
multiple spots, but he's almost always a second level defender.
He just lines up in different spot based on the
defensive play call, the personnel of the offense, and the
formation of the offense.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
Total defense gret cozill Joini's courtesy of Seattlesider. Don't forget
the tap room now open for all ages down Sodo.
Look for also in your grocery stores. They got the
holiday Pumpkins spice sider, which is really good. Not too
sweet by the way, It's just a great, great tasting sider,
great for this time of the year. The Pumpkins spice
Sider for Seattle Sider, look for your grocery stores. Total
defense for the Cardinals their twentieth in the league. Rush
defense twelve, pass defense twenty third points allowed per game,

(13:43):
though pretty good eleventh I'm only allowing twenty one points
per game. I just kind of feel like it's a
solid defense. That Sam Darling Company are going to be.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Seeing and they just got an upgrade. Walter Nolan's back.
He played for the first time last week, played close
to forty snap. He was my favorite defensive tackle in
this draft. He'd been hurt pretty much all preseason up
until obviously Week nine, he made an impact. He can
be a dominant, dominant force. When I watched him at

(14:13):
Old Miss, I mean there were snaps watching him in
college where he reminded me of Jalen Carter. So I
think that he's going to be a pretty significant added
bonus for them as they go down the stretch and
they do a lot of good things. We've talked about
this before, the way they line up with that three
across on the back end and you don't know who's
going to jump in and who's not. I mean, they're

(14:34):
not an easy defense to play against, so you know,
I think that you have to be aware of that
that they're not that easy to play against. But you know,
and obviously we haven't talked since the trade, but now
you've got Shahat and that changes everything.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
That's exactly where the road I'm going down. It's almost
like we're on the same wave. Wavelength cosale just like that. Buddy,
We're right there. So Rashid Shaheed comes here, I know
you don't care, and the only people that care seem
to be fan about the compensation they gave up the
two mid round picks. And you haven't started your draft
prep yet. I'm being told by our draft guy, Rob
Rang it's a socio draft whatever. Maybe you know not

(15:09):
all fourth and fifth round draft picks are created the same,
So let's not worry about the compensation. Let's just talk
about the player and what Rashid Shaheed brings to this offense.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
By the way, I don't work for a team, so
I'm not indoctrinated into how teams think. But I'm believer.
I'm a believer that if you get a good young player,
I'd rather have that than the pick, because all picks
are a crap shoot. Shaheed is not a crapshoot. Right now,
we know what shaheat is. We have no idea what
a third or fourth round pick is going to be.
So we know what shea heat is and he is

(15:40):
one of the few guys in the league that the
term I would use that has terrifying speed. And we
know that this team pushes the ball down the field.
Darnold at his best last year in Minnesota, this year
with the Seahawks, he's very, very good at that. We've
seen over the last month, and we've talked about this,
the play action pass game really get dialed up more
and more. We're seeing the play action, the play action boot.

(16:02):
Just think about the Cody White touchdown last week, classic
case of play action boot. I mean, this fits really
really well because now and look, eighty percent of JSN
snaps have been outside. So now if they want to
line up with two tight ends, which they do a lot,
they're still play a lot on base personnel. Now, on
one side, you got JSN. On the other side, you

(16:24):
got Shaheed. JSN has clearly shown that he demands extra attention.
But how do you give him extra attention when you
have a guy that can just take the top off
the building with his speed. So it's I'm very curious
to see. And it may not happen right away week one,
you know, the first week, I mean that she heats
here just because it takes time to get acclimated learn
you know, a system that is probably a little different,

(16:46):
and you know that stuff always takes a little time.
But I'm very curious to see how this plays out
because when I saw that trade, I thought that was
a phenomenal trade for what they do and want to
do on offense.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Yeah, Tory Horton, by the way, did not practice yesterday.
He is full practice on Wednesday. Did not practice yesterday
with a shin injury and a groin as well. Uh,
that was Tory Horton yesterday. So we'll see. Yeah, so
we'll see what his status is. It might have just
been something sore that they kept him out for a day.
Cooper Cup did have a limited participation yesterday, so we'll
see how that kind of goes as it plays out.

(17:20):
But I mean, I just I think what you said
is you probably you know, you've got a guy in
JS and that's got the majority of the snaps or
targets this season. But now you add that guy into
the mix, Rashet Shaheed. Let's assume Cup and Horton are healthy.
That's a pretty good quartet of receivers, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
And they play a lot out of two tight ends.
I mean, Arroyo look what he did last week on
the vertical touchdown, which he can do, you know, So
I mean, it's it's a lot of riches here, but
now it's going to be really interesting for Clint Kubiak.
It's fun. But now he's got to figure this all
out and decide how much do I want to play
with two tight ends? How much do I want to
play with three wide receivers assuming health of Wharton and

(17:57):
Cup because now you got four wide receivers that can play.
So it's it's you know, when they have Barner and
Arroyo and tight end. Parkinson, by the way, he's not
uh he's not a bad player. No, not Parkinson, who
is the guy they play a third tight end.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
At times and I just.

Speaker 5 (18:18):
Yeah, so, uh, you know, now you've got to figure
out how you want to do that, because that it
sounds great for you and I to talk about it,
and we you know, we could be great talking about
it sitting here. But now you've got now you've got
to figure that out.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (18:32):
So, uh, you know, we'll see how how he decides
to do it, because it's it's not so easy, you know,
you want to get all that involved. I guess they
don't really have a third tight end now, it's it's
mostly the.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Two Russell sometimes and yes, but it's it's but when
you look at the receivers, we go back to receivers,
so they don't play a lot of three receiver sets.
But if everyone's healthy, right, if everyone's healthy, that's that.
Then you've got you know, js N's not coming off
the field. Now you got Shet and if Kup and
hort and are healthy, that's four guys. They're how often

(19:05):
they even play three receivers?

Speaker 5 (19:06):
Not that often, right, I mean relative to the rest
of the league. No, they're not a heavy eleven personnel offense.

Speaker 6 (19:13):
That is correct.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
So now you've got you certainly, I mean, Cup's gonna
come back and may even be this week. Maybe he's
out this week, but he certainly it doesn't sound like
the injuries are bad, so he's going to be back.
So now you got four whiteouts and and you got
two really good tight ends. You got Barner who's really

(19:34):
good in the short to short intermediate area and very
good in the red zone. And you got a Royo
who can run. So it's you know, it's so called
embarrassment of riches. But now you've got to figure that out.
You got to figure all that how you want to
deploy all those players.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
It's better than not deploying them, better not having those guys.
I guess, hey, by the way, real quick before I
wrap the you know, yeah, Sam Darnell was perfect in
the first half last week.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
I know you were. You were sound asleep by the
time that happ and so you watch it on Monday.

Speaker 5 (20:01):
And then he screwed up in the second half and
he threw three incompletions. You know, I probably bench him.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
I would do that first half though. I mean, you've
watched a lot of football. That's about probably as good
as half a quarterback as you've seen, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
Yeah, And you know the thing that really stands out
is just the decisiveness. You know, when you watch your quarterback.
One of the things that I that I look for,
and you know, I don't know what other people look for.
I know the way I do it. You know the
traits I look for. But a lot of quarterbacks get
stuck in the pocket. And you can see when they
get stuck is if they're not sure where to throw
the football. And when you see a quarterback play with decisiveness, Now,

(20:37):
that doesn't mean he's going to complete every ball. Obviously,
that's not going to happen every week, but or sometimes
you even make a bad throw just you know, maybe
it's not an accurate throw. But when you see a
quarterback who drops back, hits that back foot and knows
where he's going with the ball, just gets rid of
the ball, you just get a sense that he has
a really good feel for the offense, for the route
concepts versus the coverage. It's just it's all working together.

(21:00):
Like I said, that doesn't mean you complete every ball,
but that's just the way Donald's playing right now. He
just seems like a very, very comfortable player. And then
he's making some throws like that first touchdown to Horton
where he rolled to his left. I mean, that's a
confident throw. That's not an easy throw to make rolling
to your left like that. And by the way, Horton
was pretty well covered. I guess they called a penalty

(21:21):
on the corner, but at the time that he caught
the ball, he was well covered. It was not wide open,
you know, And you just see Donald's clearly feeling extremely
comfortable in the context of this offense.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Well, let's see if they can continue that without the
road field advantage. Since they're at home this weekend and
they're the better roadte right right, which you'll see if.

Speaker 5 (21:41):
They'll be interesting. I mean, look, and I remember telling you,
and I think you probably remember this before the season
when we first started up, which was before the season,
I remember telling you that they were going to have
a very good defense. Do you remember that?

Speaker 7 (21:53):
I do?

Speaker 3 (21:53):
I do, Indeed I do.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
You were a lot more bullish on that, yeah, than
other people were, because you've watched the tape and understand
that the.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
Domination of McDonald, whose concepts I really like, and the
personnel is going to make them have a very good defense.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
We've seen Bira Murphy take that next step among others too,
and that's certainly helped along the way. DeMarcus Lawrence has helped.
Having Chenna back helps and some guy that where's ninety nine,
pretty good player Williams I think is his real name.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
We may discuss this last week, and I know we
got to go here in a sec. But when you
can put backups in like Tyo Cotta, who's played very well,
by the way, I think that says a lot about
how everybody's coached, about how the concepts are presented, because
you know, coaching is teaching how is this stuff presented
so that everybody gets it, even the guys who aren't
playing and then have to play.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
Greg real fast. One of the things we talked about.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
We had Jaron Reid on last week, and we had
him on last spring, and I asked Jaron Reid last
spring when he was at a non mandatory OTAs those
guys didn't miss any of them, and I said, why
are you here? You're loving your veteran He goes, because
we're buying in.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
This is what we do. This is Mike McDonald. This
is the way it is.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
And I think that stuff you saw in the spring
and the summer is what you just said. It is
paying off right now on that defensive side of the football.
So absolutely great stuff. As always, that's great COSEL, ESPN
Matchup Show, of course NFL Films. He's our guru. Brought
to you by Seattle Sider. Seattle Sider, you can go
check it out in the tap room open for all
ages now with food and beverage, and of course look
for your grow con grocery stores, especially the time of

(23:18):
the year during the holiday season. Look of course for
that fine pumpkin spice cider. Absolutely sensational. It's not too sweet,
very good, easy drink as wadering the holiday season, Greg,
We will talk to you next week, my friend.

Speaker 5 (23:29):
Thank you all right, Thanks, Ian, appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
That's great co sale.

end with Danny O'Neill.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Big thanks the Northwest Handling System serving the Pacific Northwest.
It's nineteen seventy one, the leading of full line material
handling distributed in the Pacific Northwest.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
Over fifty years.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Danny O'Neil joins us right now, Dan Apostrophe quickly, Danny,
before we get to everything that you have to offer today,
which is a ton, especially the love affair of a
quarterback and his team, which we'll get to in just
a couple seconds. As promised, there's always happens when we
have great co sel on. Right as it finishes up,
we've got the first of two injury reports. But Tory Horton,

(24:48):
Ernest Jones doubtful to play against Arizona, Cooper Cup AJ
Barner are questionable. It's a banged up football team coming
off a bye week just two weeks ago. Hi, Danny,
how are you?

Speaker 6 (24:58):
I'm good? How are you doing good?

Speaker 3 (24:59):
My friend? I'm very good.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
Let's uh so, despite those injuries, the Seahawks do have
a quarterback. I had to chuckle today the Quarterback Spectrum
column that you put out this morning on the daying Apostrophe.
More importantly than that was the I guess how would
you say it? The the different varying degrees of the
love affair that we have with our quarterback or organizations
have with it.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
How would you describe that?

Speaker 8 (25:23):
Yeah? I think there's I think there's stages of romance
that you have put it in and right now. I
believe that Seattle and Sam Darnold are very firmly in
that the early days of a new and exciting relationship,
when you can't spend enough time together.

Speaker 7 (25:41):
You get excited to see each other.

Speaker 8 (25:44):
There's a level of disbelief about just how great all
of this is, and oh man, this is just so fun.
It's the it's the process of the there's not been
a fight yet, You're ordering appetizers and deserted beyond tred.

Speaker 6 (26:00):
It's just it's.

Speaker 8 (26:00):
Slow walks around month like everything's going just absolutely fantastic,
and you know it's probably not.

Speaker 7 (26:07):
Always gonna stay this great, but maybe it will.

Speaker 8 (26:10):
Maybe this is just shankra Law.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
How would you describe Kyler Murray in Arizona?

Speaker 8 (26:17):
The Cardinals dumped him over text?

Speaker 7 (26:21):
That's not good.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
I haven't I I've been in a relationship longer than
texts have involved, as a married.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Man of thirty two years.

Speaker 4 (26:30):
But yeah, how to make sure I get that right?
Thirty two years? But so I didn't have a text dump,
but we've all had dumps. But text dump, I'm assuming
is like the worst of the worst, I think.

Speaker 8 (26:40):
So it's just like, yeah, it's time to move on,
and you know what, we've got at least for another
two months, so we're gonna have to be around each other.

Speaker 7 (26:48):
Oh god.

Speaker 8 (26:49):
And once the season ends on January fourth, like you
definitely should be out of here. But like, I'm not
going to complain about anything you do because it's done.

Speaker 7 (26:58):
I'm not even mad about it.

Speaker 8 (27:00):
You're just gonna need to go away at the at
the end of the year. I mean, Tua, Tua and
Miami are in very much the same situations. Gino's not
there yet in Las Vegas, but that's not looking great
right now, justin fields out here in New York with
the Jets. As soon as this season is done, you know,

(27:21):
his asses.

Speaker 6 (27:22):
Out of here.

Speaker 8 (27:22):
So it happens, it's a it's an unceremonious end. But
I think that's the point that you've reached. I mean
the past couple of weeks again, and was all coy
and cagey about who his starter was going to be
and we'll see if Kyler gets healthy, and then this
week they get there. It's like, look, Jacoby's starting, Kyler's
on injured reserve, Like is it a health thing.

Speaker 7 (27:43):
Yeah, it's a health thing.

Speaker 8 (27:44):
Then a little bit later. Yeah, there's there's some performance
in there too, and it's just it's clear that that
has run its course.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
In Arizona, Danny.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
I'm telling you right now, I think Gino is like,
if you want to go with the rental thing and
you got to stick around for two more months for
the rental property out. I think Gino's in that world
of we're married, we own a house, we can't afford
to get divorced.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
I think that's where he's.

Speaker 7 (28:05):
At right now. It's not even for the kids.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
No, no, we just can't afford it. We can't afford
to get divorced right now.

Speaker 8 (28:13):
I have to make it work. I I'll tell you what.
Watching that game last night, I was I am shocked.
I know, I know Las Vegas's offensive line sucks, yes,
but Geno's he's kind of used to that, right. It's
not like it's not like he is that pristine protection
or maybe we've oversold what he's gotten here. But man,

(28:35):
he's just getting helpied out of him too. Last night,
I'm convinced that both his legs were hurt by the end,
like it was hard for him to decide which side
the limp on.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Well, and I think there's part of it. You don't
make sure.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
He wouldn't make sure everbody knew he was hurt like that,
like let's let's make sure everyone's hurt. I the Geno thing, Yeah,
there's like, hey, I'm hurt. I think there's a phony
element to him. You know, when he was trying to
get contracts and all that, he's raw Rod Gino and
he's everyone likes me, Gino. I'm in the locker room, Gino.
And now he's now he's yelling at or he mostered

(29:06):
on the sideline for missing a block, because I mean,
I don't know, sometimes guys miss blocks.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Sometimes you make a bad throw.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Dude, relax like you're the quarterback, be a leader, right,
And that's I think that's I think Geno's true colors
are starting to show through right now. I got to
ask you before I go about ESPN, because I loved
I loved So if you have YouTube TV, you're screwed, right,
No ESPN, no ABC, all that stuff. So if you
have YouTube TV and we live in a world now

(29:32):
where a lot of people want to stream, I still
like to change the channel myself. And I think by
the time you ala Carte, everything and every city's different.
I'm fine with Comcast. I like Comcast. It's I like
changing channels, and it's all right there, nice and easy.
Maybe because I'm old, whatever it might be.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
It's easy.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
But but you discovered something interesting.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
You don't need ESPN? Is that what you're telling me?

Speaker 7 (29:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (29:52):
So I do have YouTube TV, and I have it
because a Sunday ticket. Yeah, that's how I get make
sure I have access to all games.

Speaker 7 (30:00):
I have to continue.

Speaker 6 (30:01):
I have to have YouTube TV to get that.

Speaker 8 (30:03):
I can't discontinue it and still get Sunday tickets. But
when ESPN and now all the Disney channels are off
of there, I really looked at it and I'm like, Okay,
how many things do I actually watch on ESPN? And
I am firmly someone I'm fifty years old. I would
say that ESPN has been the single most formative influence

(30:23):
on my sports fandom. It guided the teams that I
watched in college basketball when I was growing up in
the eastern half of Oregon. NFL Primetime I think I
looked forward to as much as I looked forward to
any football game that I watched.

Speaker 6 (30:41):
In an NFL week.

Speaker 8 (30:42):
With Berman and Tom Jackson. I've always loved ESPN, and
when I looked at it, it's four it's four Monday
night games or five in a month. I guess you
could have five Monday night games and then it's surfing
on Saturday college football games. But I don't care about
the the acciorly as much as I care about the

(31:03):
other conferences. And I was just like, it's not worth
thirty bucks a month for me. And I know I
can get like a day pass, but I just looked
at it.

Speaker 7 (31:10):
I don't watch any.

Speaker 8 (31:11):
Of the screaming programming they have on during the day,
and and I'm I'm not depressed or like, oh my god,
what's happened to ESPN. It's just weird for me that
this product that is a huge part. I mean, I
remember when they got baseball games, and I remember because
I was sitting there in my living room watching the

(31:32):
Mariners and at Friday Night perfect game that Brian Holman
had until they were won out ten phelps like that.
That was Friday Night Baseball, the first year the ESPN
was carrying major league games. It's ESPN has been a
very constant and I looked at it, I'm like, yeah,
I know, I'm not gonna pay thirty bucks. And it's
not that I'm mad or like, oh I think that

(31:54):
ESPN's wrong or YouTube TV is wrong. I hope that
they both get soaked in their little pissy contest over
who gets the most money. But it was it was
weird to realize I don't watch that network that much anymore.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
No, And you know it's I like the back and
forth where ABC, Disney, et cetera. Let me emphasize that
Disney throwing stones at Google slash YouTube for being the
billionaire multi zillionaire company. That's you know, that's that's that's
screwing them here and all this kind of like wait
a second, pot kettle, like what are we talking about here?

Speaker 8 (32:28):
Stop it, stop it whatever these companies care about us, No,
none of them do. This is like who who gets
to hold who over the bear? That's exactly their market position.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
That's exactly what it is. That's exactly what is. Did
your garbage get picked up yet?

Speaker 7 (32:43):
By the way, Yeah, this city is hilarious.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
Tell people give you like one minute about that, because
it's amazing.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
If people can't out here, can't relate.

Speaker 8 (32:54):
In New York, you throw your garbage out it gets
collected by throwing the plastic bag out onto the sidewalk.
So here it is, this, this burgeoning metropolis. New York
loves to think of itself as the most ambitious city
in the world. And we don't put our garbage into
a container. You wonder why we have rats, that's why.

Speaker 7 (33:15):
And over the past two days something was going on.

Speaker 8 (33:17):
In my neighborhood because there's just a mountain of trash
bags up and down the street.

Speaker 7 (33:21):
I posted a picture.

Speaker 8 (33:22):
You can see it if you go to Danny O'Neil
dot com enter your email so you can get my newsletter,
the dang Apostasy. But you can look at the filth
that we live in this city. And there is no
other place, certainly in this country, and I don't know
if there's another another city. It's size that allows this

(33:42):
sort of just yeah, throw your garbage bags on the
sidewalk and wait till the garbage man comes and picks
them up.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
See, and I'm we're stressed in our neighborhood because we
have too much yard waste right now, like leaves and
all that kind of stuff. And wait for it, they're
in bins and bags waiting for Monday. Now wait, you
know we.

Speaker 7 (34:01):
Eliminated that in the nineteen seventies. Who needs to have
garbage cans?

Speaker 6 (34:05):
I wonder why we have so many rats.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
That's a shocking development.

Speaker 8 (34:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Shout out to my guy Nick and the shout out
to my guy Nick here and the rest of the
great crew out here in Seattle area and this greater
puge of sound area that make sure our area does
not look like New York City.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
Man.

Speaker 4 (34:17):
Shout out to those hard working men and women. So
Danny dan apostrophe again. How do you get it?

Speaker 7 (34:23):
You go to Danny O'Neil dot com.

Speaker 8 (34:25):
You give me your email address, I send you pictures
with the garbage that's around my neighborhood.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
It actually he does. It's pretty funny. Thanks, buddy. I'll
talk to you next week.

Speaker 6 (34:33):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Take care, guys.

Speaker 7 (35:31):
Now your daily look at the.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
National Hockey League and the Seattle Kraken with the infnests.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
All right, quick well, Daily power play today Cracking on
the road. They got two straight back to back games
tomorrow in Saint Louis and Sunday in Dallas, both games
at four pm Pacific, three thirty pre game with Captain
Mike Benton. Sunday's game on nine three point three k
FM tomorrow because the Husky game were overrun nine fifty
on the AM dial. UH for the game against Saint Louis,
Cracking trying to end a long, long, long streak of

(35:59):
not winning back to back games on Sunday. You need
to get off to a good start tomorrow against the
Saint Lewis Blues, and at some point this weekend once
or twice, it won't be Joey to court. You're not
going to play Joey back to back game. So either
Matt Murray or Philip Rubauer is going to get a start,
which hasn't happened much this season is it's been the

(36:20):
other guys on the bench and Joey getting all but
two starts this season. Murray's had one, Grubbers had won,
the Kraken did not win either one of those games.
We'll see if that changes this weekend, depending on who
goes when in terms of the goaltending matchup as well.
Also when, if and when Berkeley Caton plays, that will
be his ninth game. That's the limit. If he plays

(36:44):
one more then his contract kicks in. It's kind of
less magical. It's like the Mariners when the baseball does
the June deal. Like if you bring a guy up
before the June tenth, whatever it is, the contract kicks
in and the clock starts sticking, and that's why guys
wait sometimes.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
So we'll see if Berkeley plays this weekend.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
If you play two games, then the contract sticks kicks
in and you probably will not see him sent back
down to juniors this year.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Something to keep an eye on as well.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
On that Ture Daily power play about You by Issakua
Honda Caboda Issaqua Honda Caboda just located off of I
ninety along the way. All right, there's a lot going
on in terms of Seahawks. We'll get to we'll talk
to Rob rang in a second by the college football
weekend in a moment. But as far as the Seahawks
are concerned, injury report has come out, not the final one,
but kind of the final one. They're going through a workout.

(37:29):
There'll be one comes out in a minute. But Mike
McDonald did speak a few minutes ago, and here's what
we know. It's probably a good thing they picked up
Rashid Shaheed along the way. Tory Horton does not sound
like it's very encouraging for him to play this weekend,
along with Ernest Jones as well. Those two both both
those two guys may be out this weekend. A little

(37:52):
more positive in terms of what McDonald said in regards
to Cooper Cup and aj Barner, but the Seahawks are
a little banged up right now as they head to
the game against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday one o'clock
down at Lumen Field.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
So yeah, man, not good, not good. So we'll see
what happens.

Speaker 4 (38:10):
And then they got the worst thing is the bigger
issue is they asked they've got those guys this weekend.
They got a little team called the Rams coming up
around the corner. They're very good at football, and that's
a huge, huge game. Although obviously everyone especially in the division,
is big, but boy, the Rams game looming large here
in a week's time, So you need to get some
guys back and healthy to go.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
All right, we'll come back.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
Rob Wrang will join us talk about the college football
weekend upcoming and it's a big one, some massive games.
Who to watch As far as the draft is concerned.
The other thing I'm gonna ask Rob about because Corbyn
Smith brought this up yesterday. There's a lot of consternation
amongst some fans in regards to the draft pick compensation
for Rashishi Heat, like, oh, it was too much and

(38:55):
all that. Corban brought this up yesterday says, you know what,
I don't think it's very good. I brought this up
with great Cosel Cosel goes, I'd rather get a really
good player than have those two mid round draft picks.
And we'll see what Rob Rang knows. He's the kind
of the king of Day three of the NFL Draft.
When Day three kicks in, our guy Rob Rang kicks in,
we'll ask him about the trade for Rashid chi Heat

(39:16):
as well as look at the big college games coming
up this weekend.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
That's next. On a Football Friday, brought to Tito's on
nine three point three KFM.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Bad I got. That's part of our relentless coverage of
the NFL. It's a Football Friday. He's sponsored by Tito's
Handmade Vodka. Proud sponsor of the Seahawks is still then

start reinls Sports Test your ninety three point three kjr

Speaker 4 (40:00):
Headlines brought to my frost Brew corsl like Choshill, Let's
get right to it. Seahawk injury report is out. For
this weekend. It's not a great one. Cooper Cup AJ
Barner are questionable. They both are trending towards playing as
they didn't get involved with practice today. Tory Horden, Ernest
Jones doubtful to play against Arizona. That Rashid Shaheed trade
looks a lot better right now, does it not?

Speaker 7 (40:21):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (40:21):
The answer is yes, yes, yes, it does. A big
weekend in sports coming up. Let's start first, Huskies and Wisconsin. Tomorrow,
twenty third ranked Washington football team travels to Madison to
take on the Badgers. Zero to five are Wisconsin in
Big Ten play, Both teams coming off bys coverge starts
at nine to thirty right here in nine three point three,
KJFM will run nine to fifty. Tomorrow, Sounder FC faces
Minnesota United in a decisive game three MLS Cup Playoffs

(40:44):
Round one. That's at one o'clock on nine to fifty.
Right after that, Benton will jump on the airwaves. He'll
shove Jackson out of the way, Get the hell out
of here. We got hockey to do. We've got Saint
Louis and Seattle tomorrow three thirty pre game, four o'clock
is the drop of the puck. Washington football basketball overcame
a slow start, beat Denver eighty four to seventy on
Steinbeck double double, thirteen and sixteen. Next up Sunday against Baylor.

(41:07):
Koog's are taken on Davidson tonight in college basketball. That's
the battle to splash brothers Klay Thompson's former school and
Steph Curry's former school.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
It's an interesting little match up. There should be some
chefs on the line with that one.

Speaker 4 (41:19):
Mark Sanchez fired as a Fox Sports football analyst, thanks
for coming. Drew Brees will replace him. And on a
much more serious note, really a tragic note as well,
The University of Washington athletics now Sidavid senior goalkeeper Mia
Hammett has died after battling stage four kidney cancer. She
was all everything last season in twenty twenty four, starting

(41:40):
fifteen matches, had a ton of shutouts I believe eight
of those along the way all Big ten team as well.
Very courageous battle, very public battle with kidney cancer. But
Mia Hammond, at the age of twenty one, has passed away.
Condolences go to everyone out there, especially with the Washington
woman soccer team, which is having a nice run right
now in the Big Ten Tournament.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
All right, let's get to it. Rob Rang standing by
as part of our never ending coverage of the NFL.
It's time for Ian's weekly visit with Rob Rang from
Foxsports dot Com, brought to you by Farelli's Pizza on
your Home for the twelfth Man and the NFL Sports
Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.

Speaker 4 (42:19):
All right, here we go, Rob Rang joining us here
as he always does every Friday, talk and all things
college football as it relates to the draft. And it's
all brought to you my your good friends with Frarelli's Pizza.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
Two things with Phralles.

Speaker 4 (42:29):
But first of all, the Pizza the Month, the Seattle
Street Pizza the Month. I gotta check this thing out, man,
this thing looks absolutely awesome. Chrispyanion smokes sausage, all kinds
of great stuff on it. That's at Farrellispizza dot com.
Go check that out. And also we told you about
this last week, a really cool deal that Frale's Pizza
is doing.

Speaker 7 (42:44):
Right now.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
They're announcing the launch of their toy and Code donation drive,
which runs through November twenty fourth. It's in support of
Santa's Castle. They're trying to bring holiday joy the children
of junior enlisted service members throughout the Puga Sound region.
Of course, fareles kind of based down the South Sound JBL.
I'm and all that stuff, really trying to help out
families during this time the holiday season. Guests are invited
to drop off new unwrapped toys or new codes at

(43:07):
one of Farelli's twelve locations between October twenty sixth and
November the twenty fourth.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
Hi, Rob, how are you.

Speaker 6 (43:15):
I'm doing very well, buddy, how are you?

Speaker 4 (43:16):
I'm great. Let me we'll talk about the games here
in a second for this weekend. There's some good games
to talk about when we get to that in a heartbeat.
Before I get to that, however, you've heard the name
Corbyn Smith.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
I believe right. You've heard that name before many times.

Speaker 4 (43:31):
We had them on yesterday on Thursday, and we're talking
about the trade with Rashid Shihi to the Seahawks. And
the only negative that I've heard from any Seahawks fans
or anybody at all, even media people, would be well,
you know, they gave up a lot in terms of
the mid round, the fourth and the fifth round draft picks,
and Corbin mentioned he says, well, maybe this draft it's
not as big a deal because this draft isn't as

(43:53):
deep or what have you, maybe not as talented. You're
the king of Day three draft picks, my friend, and
those would be two dred Day three draft picks. So
is there validity what Corbyn said?

Speaker 6 (44:04):
I think there is.

Speaker 9 (44:05):
This does feel like a little bit of a weaker
draft class this year. I think that certainly the twenty
twenty seven draft is shaping up beautifully.

Speaker 6 (44:14):
I mean, there's gonna be.

Speaker 9 (44:15):
So much quarterback talent, so much wide receiver talent that
those are the skill positions that typically have so much value,
and so you're gonna see some trade movement. It's one
of the reasons why, like the New York Jets, for example,
are trying to accumulate all those first round draft picks,
trading Sauce Guard and trading Queen Williams.

Speaker 6 (44:33):
I think the Seahawks deserves.

Speaker 9 (44:34):
Some kudos, Ian, to be honest with you, because the
New Orleans saying it's at least in all the conversations
that I was having, they wanted a third round pick
for Rashid Shaheed, And you can easy understand why when
the guy's on the field, he is absolutely spectacular talent.
Had an opportunity to see him in person with Klein
Kubiak actually with New Orleans Saints a couple of summers ago,

(44:58):
when I was on my tour at the BC line
going through NFL training camps, and I just think that
the Seahawks for a fourth and a fifth round pick,
they are getting a guy who, if he were in
this particular draft, and I think we'd be talking about
a top fifty selection, uh in terms in terms of
his electric speed and what he can bring as a
wide receiver as well as a kick returner. Seven kickoff

(45:21):
returns for touchdowns during his college career at Weaver State.

Speaker 6 (45:24):
So I look, I understand. I mean as you.

Speaker 9 (45:27):
Said, and very kind words there. It characterized me as
the king of Day three. I mean, I certainly enjoy
the Day three and having multiple options. I would also
say that while the Seahawks did not trade obviously Boye, Mafe,
Riquel and anybody else, if they are to lose those
players in free agencies, a lot of people are just assuming,
of course he's going to wind up get compensatory picks anyways,

(45:51):
So again they're going to get some of those picks
back in John Schneider's wallet, so to speak. So I
think this is one of the better movie is that
any club made throughout the trade deadline?

Speaker 4 (46:02):
All right, I mean that's and that's the thing, Like
I mean, as you know, as Cob and I were talking, like,
not all day three draft days are the same, right,
like much like not all first rounds are the same.
We talk about that all year, and you know, there's
always gonna be guys out there. But if if you know,
if I'm guessing, and you're around these guys, you talk
to these guys, especially the personnel guys and the scouts,
I'm guessing if Schneider and is those guys are making

(46:24):
that move, they're probably feeling like, hey, it's it's okay,
Like those those picks we can do without or we
can you know, we can get them back at some
point if it's a compensatory, I guess it would be
with the year after. But even so, it doesn't matter,
like he probably feels when a guy like that makes
that kind of trade, He's not doing it in a vacuum, right,
He's looking ahead to April and may.

Speaker 9 (46:44):
Well you have to you know, I think that's just
a way of of lost ability in today's era. And
you're talking about general managers obviously, in Schneider's case, has
been around in Seattle for awfully long time.

Speaker 6 (46:55):
And Nikki loomis in New Orleans.

Speaker 9 (46:57):
I mean at the longest tenured general manager in the
twenty three years now, he's been in New Orleans. So again,
these are not This isn't a rookie that John Scheider is,
you know, taking behind the woodshed, so to speak. You know,
they had to give up quality to get quality. And
I think that you know, a fourth and a fifth

(47:18):
round pick, you know, a draft class that like that
looks at least at this point, as it's lacking a
little bit in the difference making type of talent, I
think it's gonna wind up being quite the bargain for
the Seahawks.

Speaker 4 (47:29):
All Right, Rob rang Jonas brought to buy our good
friends of Farelli's pizza Forarellispizza dot Com. Let's get to
the games this week, and my friend and we'll start
first with the nine AM. I think this is the
Big Fox or Big Noon kickoff, right, if I'm not
mistaken at what a few weeks ago this looked like
a hell of a matchup Number two Indiana at Penn State.

(47:50):
We know what's going on with Penn State, but I
think it's still I would think still a dangerous game
for Indiana going to Penn State at nine am early
game as well.

Speaker 3 (47:59):
So who are you watching in this game, sir.

Speaker 9 (48:02):
Well, certainly you have to start off with the Indiana
quarterback we talk so much about in Fernando Mendoza.

Speaker 6 (48:07):
You know, he is.

Speaker 9 (48:08):
If you look at some of the mock drafts that
are out there already, you know, obviously you get some
teams at the top of the draft, aforementioned New Orleans
Saints as well as the New York Jets, and.

Speaker 6 (48:18):
You might be looking at a quarterback.

Speaker 9 (48:20):
I think that Fernando Mendoza right now has got to
be the favorite to be among the senior quarterbacks.

Speaker 6 (48:25):
At least.

Speaker 9 (48:25):
He's a red shirt junior technically a fourth year college player,
so as senior he is often bandied about as being
a number one overall selection. That's a little bit rich
for my blood. He certainly has the traits.

Speaker 6 (48:37):
That you're looking for. The statistics are through the roof, I.

Speaker 9 (48:40):
Mean, unbelievable numbers, you know, So He is definitely a
player that you want to see continue to be successful
playing in big time games and in road environments, and
so this is gonna be one of the biggest ones.
As you said, I mean, obviously it's been a difficult
year for Penn State, but Happy Valley remains Happy Valley.
They are definitely going to be excited there to unseat

(49:04):
the number two ranked Indiana Hoosiers in this particular football game.
And they do have some pass rushers they're going to
be able to get some pressure on Brando Mendoza. So
Dennis Sutton, we've talked about him before, number thirty three,
six foot five, touring sixty pound edge rusher is somebody
who I think is going to be able to get
to create some pressure and force Mendoza to demonstrate that.

Speaker 6 (49:27):
Quick release and the mobility combination that he possesses.

Speaker 9 (49:30):
And then I would be remiss if we don't talk
a little bit about Penn State guard. He plays left
guard position, number seventy one. This is a Graham to
palacing kid vega Ione that I just think is a
pretty interesting fit for what the Seahawks are looking for
from the interior offensive line. He's got good initial quickness,
He's got really broad shoulders and is pretty balanced in

(49:53):
pass protection as well. He is a guy that does
have some upside to him. I don't know that he's
necessarily gonna be a first round selection, but certainly a
top sixty four kind of candidate. So if you are
among the Seahawk fans out there, it's looking for every
every guard prospect in this next year's draft, ioning for
Penn State again, number seventy one is somebody to.

Speaker 6 (50:14):
Keep your eyes on.

Speaker 3 (50:15):
I want to go back to Mendozo for a second.

Speaker 4 (50:17):
I don't ask you to do this often, and I
think it's sometimes it's kind of unfair to everyone involved,
but I'm gonna do it anyway because it's I'm curious,
who is Mendoza's comp in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (50:28):
What's the quarterback fought for him?

Speaker 9 (50:31):
Yeah, I kind of struggle with that, just because I
see a guy that six foot five, two hundred and
thirty pounds, the lightning quick release. You know, to me,
that is a guy that kind of reminds me of
an old school Jay Cutler. But at the same time,
he's much more agile than Jay Cutler is, And so
there's actually and I hate to use this comparison because

(50:51):
there's gonna be awful lot of Seahawks fans out there
that are going to kind of, you know, jump on this,
sort of latch onto it. But to me, there's Gino Smith.
And when I see with Gino Smith is I see
a guy who's a good athlete but doesn't always use
that athletic ability, that has the accuracy to make just
about every throw you'd ever want to see, but doesn't

(51:13):
always do that. I want to see a little bit
more consistency in making this smart throw.

Speaker 6 (51:19):
And that's been one of the knocks.

Speaker 9 (51:21):
On Genia Smith going back to the days at West Virginia.
And that's again one of the elements of this comparison
that I would use because with Guinia Smith, coming from
West Virginia is a run and shoot kind of the
offense that you know, he knew was going to take
some time.

Speaker 6 (51:34):
For him to acclim it.

Speaker 9 (51:35):
The same thing here, Kritziggetti that the head coach there
in Indiana does a terrific job of simplifying things for
his quarterback. There are some good throws on tape with Mendoza.
There's not a lot of great throws because He isn't
asking his quarterback to make those types of throws, and
that's why I struggle with the idea that he's going
to be the number one overall pick.

Speaker 6 (51:53):
I could see him being in a first round selection.

Speaker 9 (51:55):
Actually ha him going that in my most recent mock draft,
having going to be to Gina Smith with the Las
Vegas Raiders. I think if their skill sets are similar,
I just also see a little bit of bus factor.

Speaker 6 (52:07):
Here with Mendoza. As much as I want to root
them on, I just.

Speaker 9 (52:10):
Don't see the elite traits that are going to suggest
guaranteed success in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (52:16):
All right, let me get to a game.

Speaker 4 (52:18):
We've talked about these teams and some of the prospects before,
but I think it's worth talking about number seven and
number eight. Number seven BYU at number eight Texas Tech.
I've also brought this up on the show this week.
This is the time of the year if you know,
if your team is in contention for a possible playoff berth,
you're doing some scoreboard watching and you're doing some rooting
along the way. And I'll just bring up the Washington

(52:39):
Huskies for a second. Hell, I'll bring up USC as well.
Let's use those two, you know, legacy Pac twelve schools
for a second. BYU is undefeated, they're going to Texas Tech.
If BYU wins, then Texas Tech has two losses and
that hurts them tremendously. If Texas Tech wins and BYU
plays a close game, they both have one loss, there's

(53:01):
still a chance they could see each other in the
Big twelve title game. And if that were to happen
and Texas Tech comes back and beats b YU, a
one lost b YU team and a one lost Texas
Tech team are both going to go to the College
Football Playoff more than likely based on what we've seen
already the College Football Playoff rankings. So all of that
on the table, what are you looking for in BYU
Texas Tech.

Speaker 9 (53:21):
Well, I think that's a really good point that you're
making there that makes this matchup that much more fascinating.
I mean, it's just rare that you have two teams
at this late in the season that don't play in
the Big Ten and don't play they expanded Big Ten
of course, and don't play in the SEC that are
top playing with Top ten numbers next to their names.

(53:43):
So I do think that that Texas Tech obviously is
at home. I think if they have the advantage in
terms of future NFL prospects. And there's one particular matchup
in this game offensive tackle. The left tackle Isaiah Jetta
for BYU number seven v one again six three hundred
and fifteen pounds, is going to be going up against

(54:05):
a duel of edge rushers in and we've talked about
David Bailey and Romilio Height.

Speaker 6 (54:10):
The two edge rushers for Texas Tech before.

Speaker 9 (54:12):
They are the most productive edge rushers in all of
college football as far as being the same football team.

Speaker 6 (54:19):
And I just think that they have a combination.

Speaker 9 (54:21):
Of speed and flexibility to get under the reach of
Joona that is going to be something that the big
Man hasn't seen quite yet for BYU. So I just
think that this is a game that which Texas Tech
has some significant advantages. If BYU has a chance in
this football game, I think they have to run the
football with LJ. Martin talked about him before as well

(54:42):
as six foot two tour and twenty pounder, he's got
those long.

Speaker 6 (54:45):
Stride, deceptive strides.

Speaker 9 (54:47):
I use the comparison doing another former seaofk before which
you know Smith and Fernando Mendoza l J.

Speaker 6 (54:53):
Martin.

Speaker 9 (54:53):
To me, those long strides reminds me a little bit
of Sean Alexander and that he's got he's kind of
deceptive and he's got better speed then he might test
at the combine.

Speaker 6 (55:02):
But at the same time he plays fast.

Speaker 9 (55:04):
That to me should be the game plan for Italian
sat Hockey and the BYU Cougars.

Speaker 3 (55:08):
It's a great game.

Speaker 4 (55:09):
Nine A M ABC has two good games at nine
am on Saturday morning, all right was jump by at
twelve thirty ABC number three Texas A and M number
twenty two Missouri Texas AM. Feels like they're safely in
the college football playoff. What are we watching in this game?

Speaker 7 (55:26):
Well, one of my.

Speaker 9 (55:26):
Absolute favorite players, certainly one of the biggest breakout players
so far this year, cash Is Howe, the edge rusher
for Texas A and M six two two hundred and
forty eight pounder, talked about the burst and bend that
Texas texts David Bailey and Romilio height to provide. In
my opinion, Cashus how Is even quicker off the edge

(55:48):
and he plays with greater physicality at the point of attack.

Speaker 6 (55:51):
To me, he screams Mike McDonald.

Speaker 9 (55:53):
With just his ability to play the game in just
about every way, his versatility. He had previous played as
an off ball linebacker with the Aggies, and now that
they're allowing him.

Speaker 6 (56:04):
Just to pin his ears back and rush the quarterback.
He he is.

Speaker 9 (56:07):
You know, he is being incredibly predictively as nine and
a half sacks to lead the SEC so far this season.
So he certainly is going to be somebody to talk
about and to be watching really excited about him. I
also think on the offensive line, he said, because we
have talked about cash as how before, the left guard
in particular for A and M, and A and m's

(56:27):
entire offensive line is looks like future NFL kind of guys.
But Chase bisontis the left guard six foot five, three
hundred and fifteen pounder. To me, his his agility, his
ability to block on the move. He has some when
he is asked to get out and pull his quickness

(56:49):
initially and then adjusting to linebackers in space. That has
been my biggest complaint about Anthony Bradford. When he is
asked to block just straight ahead, he can still. You
can do that pretty well, don't you ask him to
adjust on the move. That's where we have seen some
of those ugly misfires.

Speaker 6 (57:04):
On tape in the past.

Speaker 9 (57:05):
Now again, Chase Bisontis is more playing in the left
guard positioning to require a little bit of a transition
there A great is able playing as well as he is.
I can't imagine the Sea option ask him to switch.
But still, if you are looking for a guard, there
are some good ones playing on tomorrow, and I really
think that Chase Bisontis the left guard for the A
and M is player that the Sea off fan should

(57:26):
be paying attention to.

Speaker 4 (57:27):
Possible elimination game for one team number nine Oregon, number
twenty Iowa as far as college football playoff bids are concerned, Yes,
if Oregon loses two losses, are sitting in a precarious
position at number nine in the college football playoff. Remember
the ACC and the non Power Conference, the group of five,
they're going to each get a team in there. So
it's like ten spots right now is what you're looking

(57:47):
at more than likely. But while it's an elimination game
for either Oregon or Iowa or a potential one, certainly
for Iowa, who very much is on the outside looking
in It's also a huge game for Dante More, the
quarterback at Oregon, isn't.

Speaker 9 (57:59):
It is a massive game in the NFL evaluation of
the Oregon quarterback, Dante More, who is just we talked
about before, Fernando Mendoza, the Indiana quarter quarterback, who I
think is probably the favorite at this point to be
the first quarterback selected, because I do think it's very
likely that he is going to make himself.

Speaker 6 (58:20):
Eligible for the draft. With Dante Moore, we're talking about.

Speaker 9 (58:23):
Basically, you know, twelve fifteen games of major college football
starting experience at this point. So while the trades are undeniable,
I mean, his agility and his accuracy downfield, including on
those NFL caliber throws that are very much missing from
Fernando Mendoza's tape you see on the Oregon tape, But

(58:45):
at the same time, again the lack of experience. I mean,
he is going to take one gutsy general manager to
want to invest the first round selection in Dante Moore.

Speaker 6 (58:53):
So I really think that this is a game that
he's going to be going up against.

Speaker 9 (58:57):
The Kirk Ferentz defense that is just very much respected
throughout the NFL. I've had general managers scouting directors in
the past, so that basically they will throw out the
tape of most college opponents, but they will always look
at teams go up against Ohio State, teams going up
against Iowa teams, going up against Michigan.

Speaker 6 (59:15):
You know, just some of the teams in the Big Ten.

Speaker 9 (59:18):
That play quality football weekend and week out and produce
NFL calibert prospects at virtually every single position.

Speaker 6 (59:25):
So I'm really.

Speaker 9 (59:26):
Excited to see what Dante Moore does in this particular game.
I also think to Iowa has some guys They're going
to make this a challenging matchup. You know, Oregon is
basically just being able to outclass most of their opponents
with just the sheer athletic ability in size and speed
of a.

Speaker 6 (59:41):
Lot of their guys.

Speaker 9 (59:42):
But you look at what Kirk France has as far
as the Iowa hawkys.

Speaker 6 (59:46):
I mean, this is just a typical Iowa team. I mean,
as you said, in the number twenty team in the country.

Speaker 9 (59:51):
Their quarterback through eight games has four passing touchdowns and
have to the number twenty team in the country. So
again this is this is Iowa football to a team.
Now that quarterback mark Gronowski has eleven rushing touchdowns to
go with those four passing touchdowns, so it's not like
he's completely ineffective. They just do things differently there. But

(01:00:12):
as far as a defensive line, that's one of the
things I think is going to make this interesting is
because Oregon has some big body guys along the line
of scrimmage, but at the same time they're going to
be reaching or daily struggling with one of the most
gifted defensive.

Speaker 6 (01:00:30):
Lines that they're going to see in the Big Ten
this season.

Speaker 9 (01:00:32):
Max Lewellen six foot five, touring sixty three pounder. He's
got six sacks, nine tackles for lost, a couple of
forced fumbles. He wears number forty eight. He's a senior
inside a defensive tackle. Aaron Graves six foot five, two
hundred ninety five pounder, He's got four sacks, He's got
five and a half tackles for loss.

Speaker 6 (01:00:51):
He's a senior.

Speaker 9 (01:00:52):
On the other edge, Ethan Hurkittt six foot three turned
fifty nine pounder, number forty nine, he has got five
and a half tackles for lost stacks. So again, talking
about a very experienced defensive line go up against that
Oregon offensive line. That's much value hoooed. But they got
beat the line of scrimmage against Indiana earlier. And of
course this is a game that's on the road, and

(01:01:12):
so I think that's going to be interesting there. And
then at the cornerback spot, Iowa has another good one, TJ. Hall,
number two, six foot, one hundred and ninety pounder. He
leads the big ten with nine passes broken up so far.
So again, there's an awful lot of senior experience on
this defense, I think is going to make it a
little bit more challenging on Dante more and certainly in
the Oregon Ducks as a whole.

Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
Would you expect Oregon still to win?

Speaker 6 (01:01:37):
I do. I just think that Oregon is.

Speaker 9 (01:01:38):
Among the top two or three teams in the country
in terms of just pure raw talent. Now I have
not been real impressed with some of Dan Lanning's game
day decisions, but at the same time, in terms of
just pure talent, and that's usually what wins out of course,
I think that Oregon has a significant advantage.

Speaker 6 (01:01:55):
They have got guys basically on every.

Speaker 9 (01:01:58):
Positional group in there wind up period name called at
one point another in the NFL draft, including a potential
first round pick at the quarterback position that again swings
the balance in Oregon's favors.

Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
All right, it's Rob rang Before we asked about the
final game.

Speaker 4 (01:02:11):
Here in a second, don't forget Forrelli's Pizza Proud announced
to launch their toy and cote donation drive and support
of Santa's Castle. Basically, guests invited to drop off new
unwrapped toys or new coats to one of Farelli's twelve
locations between October twenty sixth and November twenty fourth.

Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
So you can do that right now.

Speaker 4 (01:02:26):
You're going to a Ferrellis, bring buy a new coat
or a brand new unwrapped toy, drop it off there
when you go have your great pizza at Farelli's. Okay,
Rob final game kind of like the first one we
talked about in Indiana Penn State a few weeks ago.
That'd be a huge one. This one would have been big.
LSU at Alabama. LSU is not ranked. We know that
they fired Brian Kelly, Alabama's number three. You're telling me

(01:02:49):
right now it's not a not a must watch for fans,
but maybe it is for scouts.

Speaker 6 (01:02:54):
Well, I think it should be a must watch for
fans too.

Speaker 9 (01:02:56):
I mean, this is just you know, I still think
the Alabama the LSU is one of those who could
throw the records out the window.

Speaker 6 (01:03:03):
I just think that that.

Speaker 9 (01:03:04):
You know, you have a lot of players playing for
LSU that grew up in Alabama and vice versa, you know,
and so I expect this to be a competitive football game.
And you have again two first round caliber quarterbacks. In
my opinion, Ty Simpson for Alabama I think is right
there with Fernando Mendoza Dante mor As far as being
a Heisman front runner.

Speaker 6 (01:03:25):
He is right there again with.

Speaker 9 (01:03:27):
Dante mor As far as having the best tape.

Speaker 6 (01:03:29):
Of NFL caliber throws.

Speaker 9 (01:03:31):
So there's gonna be a lot of NFL scouts we're
gonna be watching this game and excited to see what
he is able to do. And again, another high pressure
type of situation. Now, Simpson has played his best so
far in some of these high pressure situations.

Speaker 6 (01:03:45):
That's why, you know, if you were to tell me
that he Dante More.

Speaker 9 (01:03:49):
Fernando Mendoza, all these other quarterbacks, that all of them
are available on draft Day, I think the Simpson might
wind up actually be in the first one selected.

Speaker 6 (01:03:57):
Of the bunch, just because of not only the physical.

Speaker 9 (01:04:00):
Traits but all the intangibles that he has shown, and
taking that loss early on against Florida State and then
riding the ship, so to speak. I really think that
that has shown a great deal of leadership from this
young man, and so I'm excited to see about how
he performs against the LSU has got a corner mansor
Delayne that, in my opinion, is the best man demand

(01:04:22):
corner and play ball hawking playmaking corner in the country.

Speaker 6 (01:04:27):
So again, I think there's going to be a formidable
challenge in that regard.

Speaker 9 (01:04:30):
And then, oh, by the way, LSU with Garrett Nessmeyer
their quarterback, anytime that Garrett Nessmeyer gets a little bit of,
you know, some of the shine rubbed off, I think
that's what he plays his best when when he is
kind of being.

Speaker 6 (01:04:43):
Overlooked he is not the guy.

Speaker 9 (01:04:45):
I think that he plays very well under that underdog
kind of of a storyline.

Speaker 6 (01:04:51):
And so I do think that LSU is going to
give out with.

Speaker 9 (01:04:54):
Them a little bit more of a run than a
number three.

Speaker 6 (01:04:57):
Team going up against the unraked LSU might suggest.

Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
Rob great stuff is always what you got up on
foxports dot Com right now.

Speaker 6 (01:05:05):
Actually kind of a fun article.

Speaker 9 (01:05:08):
So basically, what my editors ask me to do is,
we're all kind of getting sick of the mock draft ideas.

Speaker 6 (01:05:13):
Here we are in November, you know.

Speaker 9 (01:05:15):
But at the same time, it's very clear that there
are some NFL teams out there that are already thinking
ahead that they might be looking for a quarterback.

Speaker 6 (01:05:22):
You know.

Speaker 9 (01:05:22):
Of course, the Seahawks opponent Arizona Cardinals being a perfect
example of that. With Kyler Murray obviously sidelined do the
foot injury. That's kind of a nice way of the
Arizona Gudalds being to kind of kick the can down
the road that maybe Kyler Murray isn't.

Speaker 6 (01:05:36):
Their long term solution.

Speaker 9 (01:05:38):
Same thing maybe with the New York Jets, in fact,
they made all their trades and you know, maybe, you know,
they might have to make some decisions. There are lots
of clubs out there that are looking to potentially make
a move, perhaps a big move, whether it be in
the draft, whether it be trading for a veteran, but
some type of move. So they asked me to rank
the ten teams that are most likely to be making

(01:06:00):
a big move for quarterback this offseason. And so that's
the article what's up at Fox right now? I'd love
to have people check it out because it was one

Speaker 6 (01:06:10):
Or certainly it's right.

Speaker 7 (01:06:11):
I love that.

Speaker 4 (01:06:11):
It's great stuff Fox sports dot Com. Look for Robrang.
All right, we'll talk to you next week, my friend.
Thank you looking forward to it, and take care. That's
Rob Rang Factor Fiction. You wrap up the week coming
up next. I'm three point three KJFM.

Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
Now back to football Fridays sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka
on your home for the NFL Sports Radio ninety three
point three kjr FM.

Speaker 7 (01:06:34):
Where's that to go? Glad you're with us? It's your
shot at our.

Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
Weekly thousand bucks and the ten thousand dollars grand price.
It's Factor Fiction, probably presented by Lucky Eagle Casino and
Hotel where every day feels lucky. Factor Fiction is on
Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.

Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
All right, Factor Fiction.

Speaker 4 (01:06:58):
Is brought to you by Lucky Eagle Casino and Hotel
where every day feels.

Speaker 7 (01:07:04):
Lucky.

Speaker 4 (01:07:07):
I'm not lucky. I'm just getting killed in this damn contest.
This year, I was chasing Mogar I was chasing this
week first pick of the week Broncos minus nine and
a half against the Raiders. Broncos won, barely scored nine
and a half, only scored ten. One of the worst
games you could. I feel like I'm worse off for

(01:07:29):
having watched that last night. So I'm already on one one.
So I'm chasing again, not chasing, but I'm gonna go
with the game tomorrow. Fact if you agree four nine,
four to five one fiction. If you disagree four nine,
four or five one turn went on a thousand dollars
week at price ten thousand dollar grand price. Here's the pick.
I'm going Oregon Iowa. But I'm going Oregon Iowa with

(01:07:52):
the under. Like that pick, Mulgar, I like it again,
Iowa under and the under is forty one and a half.
Oregon Iowa under forty one.

Speaker 6 (01:08:11):
And a half.

Speaker 3 (01:08:12):
What's the weather that's I'm glad you asked.

Speaker 4 (01:08:15):
That, not even rehearsed awful, awful weather tomorrow, freezing rain,
high wins, Iowa doesn't score. Oregon played in not freezing rain,
but bad weather a couple of weeks ago and couldn't
get the offense going.

Speaker 3 (01:08:33):
Oh yeah, this is an easy, easy. Nothing's easy for me,
am my kid? Who am I kidding?

Speaker 6 (01:08:39):
Fast?

Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
Who am I kidding? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:08:42):
No, it's it's a Honestly, the biggest thing is is
the weather, like you just said, and the weather's gonna
be awful. It is minus it's forty one and a half,
and I don't think they'll get there. I don't think
Iowa can score. Oregon's offense has been so so their
defense is pretty good. So I'm going to Oregon, Iowa
under forty one and a half, and I'm going a

(01:09:02):
place I never never ever go. I never picked at
the ender. I rarely bet over under period and if
I do, I go over. But I'm going under this
time Oregon, Iowa under forty one and a half. Fact
four nine four or five one. If you disagree, fiction
four nine four or five one. The only place the
weather may be worse is in Madison, Wisconsin, and that
might be that might be a push. To be honest

(01:09:24):
with you, it's gonna be really bad tomorrow. The high
wins is the big thing. Dante Mortz just doesn't. I mean,
he has not handled weather in Eugene very well this year,
So I'm gonna go with that. We'll see what happens.
But yeah, go and again I mean it's I you're
a if you're a Husky fan, you want Oregon to win.
To be honest with you, Oregon did smoke Rutgurse by

(01:09:48):
fifty six. But that game with Wisconsin, they scored twenty
one points in bad weather. They scored twenty points against Indiana.
They're not a high scoring team. Again, you know, decent competition.
I was good, especially defensively. So Oregon under Oregon Iowa
under forty one and a half fact four nine four
to five one. If the disacrete fiction four nine four
five one textan right now, chance to win a thousand

(01:10:10):
dollars week with prize ten thousand dollars grand prize by
to me the Lucky Eagle Casino Hotel wherevery day feels lucky.
We're going twenty four every Friday and Saturday. Twenty four
gaming starts November seventh at Lucky Eagle dot com. And
but guess what Today's November seventh. Before we get to Softy,

Speaker 3 (01:10:25):

I think so? I believe. So we'll find out.

Speaker 7 (01:10:45):
Now back to.

Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
Football Friday sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka on your home
for the NFL Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.

Speaker 4 (01:10:59):
All right, just to clarify some things real quick, nine
to fifty tomorrow and twelve thirty pregame for sounders, one
o'clock kickoff Sounders, three point thirty pregame for cracking, and
four o'clock dropping the pluck for crapping that cracking that's
on nine fifty and then that means nine to thirty
tomorrow morning.

Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
Our guy that joins us from.

Speaker 4 (01:11:17):
Madison, Wisconsin takes over the ninety three point three KJRFM
airwaves Husky football Huskies in Wisconsin at nine pre game Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (01:11:26):
How is Wisconsin?

Speaker 7 (01:11:27):
How is it? The sweet Sweet sounds?

Speaker 3 (01:11:39):
Where are you?

Speaker 7 (01:11:40):
The sweet sweet chorus? Where am I?

Speaker 3 (01:11:42):
What's the place you dub baby?

Speaker 7 (01:11:44):
That's where I am?

Speaker 1 (01:11:45):
Are You're dubbed versus U W Tomorrow winner gets Oregon.

Speaker 7 (01:11:51):
I like where it gets the Big ten? What do
you all?

Speaker 6 (01:11:53):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
Across from Camp Randall Stadium, we are at a place
called the Sconnie Bar Man Scottie Honey, scotty E Bar.

Speaker 7 (01:12:00):
And it's packed with purple and gold. This place should
be dead if not for us. I'm told you, I
swear to God is unbelieving.

Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
It's it's supposed to be bad there right now, right, I.

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
Mean, let's just face facts. There's nothing to do here
besides you know, drinking. Uh, you know, you know what else? Man,
So I don't know what the badgers are as bad as.

Speaker 3 (01:12:17):
Those two things.

Speaker 7 (01:12:18):
Nothing wrong, but one of I can't say on the air.

Speaker 6 (01:12:21):
I get.

Speaker 3 (01:12:23):
Your point. Have you had some cheese curds?

Speaker 8 (01:12:26):
Yet?

Speaker 1 (01:12:26):
Absolutely had some cheese curds, had a bloody mary with
a big old pickle and sausage on it is nice.

Speaker 7 (01:12:32):
That's one of my.

Speaker 1 (01:12:33):
Breakfast that had some chicken wings here from the Scottie Bart,
a couple of other cocktails. Enjoying myself. So I've already
started the timer for seven o'clock Pacific time, nine o'clock Central.

Speaker 7 (01:12:44):
When I can really start to part take. Can't wait
for that. Hell, you know what, I may start partaking
now by the.

Speaker 4 (01:12:49):
Way, way, Well, first of all, I know you well.
And the fact that if to say that you may start,
I'm thinking that's erroneous.

Speaker 7 (01:12:55):
I want you to give me a favor. Is purple
sheet in the building right now? Do you know is there?

Speaker 6 (01:13:00):
Well?

Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
You know he doesn't listen to the show.

Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
Okay, but if he's there, no, No, because I wanted
to go tell him something. I wanted to pass along
a message for right, pass along a message to Wretch
that we could have another repeat of Ohio State in
two thousand and three on our hands here.

Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
To see what you say.

Speaker 7 (01:13:12):
He'll know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Ohio State?

Speaker 8 (01:13:14):
What year?

Speaker 6 (01:13:14):
What year?

Speaker 7 (01:13:14):
Was a thousand and three? Two thousand year?

Speaker 4 (01:13:16):
Talk for thirty seconds? Okay, hang on, No, I'm not
talking to exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:13:21):
Just go tell him in the break to be ready.
You might want to actually tell Jackson We're gonna have
a repeat of.

Speaker 7 (01:13:27):
Ohio State in two thousand.

Speaker 4 (01:13:28):
Jackson's got enough stress on his plate right now. He's
got an early flight to Minnesota tomorrow, and it sounds
like the weather in the Midwest isn't great.

Speaker 7 (01:13:35):
So yeah, and the f a A is shutting everything down, man,
So yeah, I forget.

Speaker 1 (01:13:39):
Hey, you know what if shuts us down, we can't
go back home. We're staying right here for Thanksgiving. You
guys go with that right here. Nobody's going home.

Speaker 7 (01:13:47):
I don't hear.

Speaker 4 (01:13:48):
I hear no cheers or wolf for us any right now,
come on, trying to help you out here. But that's
not going well, buddy, that's not going up.

Speaker 6 (01:13:58):
Well.

Speaker 1 (01:13:59):
In fact, you got there's a good thing is now,
it's amazing, amazing. Well, but now you flew.

Speaker 4 (01:14:03):
Delta, which is good, and we did you know you
flew your friends on delta? And now how's the weather
going to be tomorrow?

Speaker 1 (01:14:09):
They're saying it might snow in the fourth quarter, So
that's nice. But here's the here's the difference though, between
this place and a place like ours. I'm assuming they're.

Speaker 6 (01:14:17):
Prepared for it.

Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
Yeah, they might know, they might know, they might know
what they're doing.

Speaker 1 (01:14:22):
They're probably a little bit prepared. This is the third
time that I've been to Wisconsin.

Speaker 8 (01:14:27):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:14:27):
The first two times were for a Seahawk Packer game.
And it's the first time ever been to Madison, and
it it looks exactly like I imagine Madison would look
like a lot of bars, a lot of flat space,
a lot of lakes, a lot of trees, a lot
of college kids.

Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
How far as how far is Madison from Milwaukee?

Speaker 7 (01:14:44):
Oh, I have no idea.

Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
What would you get you?

Speaker 4 (01:14:45):
Well, you flew in directly, I guess I wouldn't think
about that, Madison. You mess around almost almost a charter
like situation for you. On I took I took the
ender by the way on the Oregon Iowa game because
the same they're gonna have worse weather than uns forty
on our winds and freezing rain. And you saw Dante
more in the rain a couple of weeks ago. They
barely beat who was at Wisconsin.

Speaker 7 (01:15:06):
Right consin, Yeah, Badgers two weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
Well it's eighty miles from here to Milwaukee for those
who were wonderings, look it up. But yeah, I mean
this is a Badger team that this is the fifth
time the Huskies have played a team coming off of bye.
It's the first time they've had a buy against a
team coming off of bye.

Speaker 7 (01:15:21):
So we'll see what that means for the game tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
But I mean they're terrible man, everywhere you go, people
are just shaking their head in town.

Speaker 7 (01:15:27):
They're pissed off and they're keeping fickle. They are for now.
They are for now.

Speaker 1 (01:15:31):
I mean it's one thing to say it, it's entirely
another to do it. At the end of the year,
I would think that they just don't have the money
yet to buy them out. And you know Chris McIntosh,
who's the ad at at Wisconsin, I mean, he's basically
hitching his wagon to fickle.

Speaker 7 (01:15:44):
Fickled on workout.

Speaker 4 (01:15:45):
He's going down with him, man, And he doesn't probably
have a twenty five million dollar buyout like Fickle ad.
All right, but that is not that's not the former
Seahawk Chris McIntosh, right, all right. So in addition to
Bloody Mary's with pickles and sausage and what else.

Speaker 3 (01:16:00):
Are you doing days?

Speaker 7 (01:16:02):
That's about it, man, It's all I got off for you.

Speaker 8 (01:16:03):
Hello.

Speaker 1 (01:16:04):
Danny Canal will join us at four o'clock today talks
with college football with him at least starting three forty
five few million. At five pm, we're gonna hear from
Matt Lapey, who is the play by play voice of
Wisconsin Badger football. How bad will it be? How bad
will the atmosphere be tomorrow? We'll find out with him,
and then a little bit from jet Fish as well,
coming up with the six pm hour two.

Speaker 3 (01:16:24):
Name of the bar you're in again.

Speaker 7 (01:16:25):
Scottie Bar in Wisconsin? Don't John know? Lacross from Camp Randall.

Speaker 4 (01:16:32):
Was the last time you were in that state? When
you almost tackle the what's the space going.

Speaker 7 (01:16:36):
On hereland twenty twenty two years ago? Ran right by me?

Speaker 3 (01:16:41):
Why don't you staying in the fresh box this time?

Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
You know what's really funny, by the way, is it
was so long ago that that was the year before
the Seahawks lost that playoff game at home to the
Saint Louis Rams. Wow, and you know who played in
that game, by the way, who the guy sitting right
next to me, Cam Cleveland.

Speaker 7 (01:16:55):
That's how long ago that one?

Speaker 4 (01:16:56):
He smokes, big, big, the big gin your baby.

Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
All right? Well, you and Ginge have fun.

Speaker 4 (01:17:02):
Enjoy yourself, Softy Fain and Ginge coming up next to you.
