Speaker 1 (00:00):
I think you guys have noticed we've got some issues
going on in our area now. Luckily the furnaces are okay.
We consider we're fine. Sort of car issue. Long story,
won't get into it. That it happened last night in
the way home from the crack and thanks to the water.
But outside of that, we're okay. I just just a
quick thought to everybody out there, like it's it's bad.

(00:21):
And I saw some houses trying to I made the
attempt to get in today, yeah, and it was not happening.
And then I'm like, what the heck is that noise?
I better take the car in boom. So we're like
I considered. I was frustrated for a bit. Great still
am and then I drove by a few houses on
the Cedar River out here, and man, just devastating what

(00:46):
we're going. When they say historic flood that is not
TV news hyperbole. That is not them hyping stuff that
it is historic flooding. If you're listening, you're probably fine
because if you're if I doubt if you be listening
right now to our sports radio show, if you were
dealing with some of the things people are dealing with
being out of a house, seeing, you know, everything taken

(01:08):
away by water. We had a small flood in our
house last year with the our washing machine. Censor went
belly up, and it was it was awful, like it was,
you know, in I don't know how many years of
home ownership my wife and I've had, but in all
those years, I would say that would be at the
top of the list of things. I just was one
of the worst things ever. That was a small, isolated

(01:30):
flood in our house. In the grand scheme of things now,
it was awful. I can't fathom what so many people
are going through right now, basements, flooded houses, flooded foundations, torch.
So you know, thoughts to go, E goes out to
everybody out there because it's just a it's awful situation. Okay,
let's get to a couple of things. One, it is
a Brandon Funds today two o'clock, four nine, four to
five one on the steal unrestricted free agent text line,

(01:52):
your thoughts, comments, questions for Fundston. It's the first week
of the fantasy football playoffs for most people, so there
will be inspiration in the air for the text line. Yes,
and also, and we'll see how many of our regulars
call in on the phones. Coming up at two o'clock today, Anders,
we'll see how many actually call it.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Today, even if maybe even even if you're not in
the playoffs, you're trying to play for not last place, right.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Oh yeah, oh yeah you and I know that really well,
really well, really really well. So we'll get to that
as well coming up today. We all uh corpor Smith
in just a few minutes. And by the way, the
dumbest thing you're going to hear today is going to
be at two thirty. We need a little levity and perspective.
And this guy is always a willing participant in the

(02:37):
dumbest thing you're going to hear. He really is, He's
he really frankly is is? He like raises his hand, Ian,
you need something you haven't done the dumbest thing you're
gonna hear today, You haven't done that at that bit
in a while, And this guy raises his hand almost yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's like, thanks, buddy, I appreciate you. You know you you're
you're there for us when we need you the most.
And we will get to that coming up at two thirty.

(03:01):
You know, I know, and has a little bit of
a local tie as well. I'll leave it at that. So, okay,
the Sharon Moore thing, I got a lot of thoughts
and they're jumbled around and jotted down, and I'm trying
to weave them together in the following manner. We could
have another dumbest thing you can hear, which we're gonna

(03:22):
play in a second today, But this isn't it because
it's too serious of a topic. But the Sharon Moore thing.
There's stuff coming out now about some mental health issues
and other things. Well really with thanks tips, Yeah, like
like I'm I think hear me listen to this show. Uh,

(03:43):
it listens to what we do and what you know,
what what I try to do, and in terms of
our community stuff with the mayor and Maple Valley opening,
I am more cognizant of mental health issues and things
like that, I think than a lot of I just
am like, that's just something at fore front of what
we do, is what my family is heavily involved with.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
With Linzky's home noting to take lightly.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Not at all. I don't like it when people try
to use as an excuse for just being a dirtbag. Yeah,
And I think that's the case of Sharon Moore. This
is Adam Schefter today NFL insider, but Michigan alum. And
listen how he tries to paint the picture of a
victim not being anybody else, but the victim actually being

(04:22):
the former head coach.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
What we have in her?

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Yet is Charon Moore side of this?

Speaker 5 (04:25):
And he gets his say into this particular situation as well.
And I do know that he felt like people had
it in for him for an awful long time there
while he was at Michigan. He felt like there were
people who are out to get him. So all these
things can all be true. It's possible that, yes, Michigan
does have evidence that he had an inappropriate relationship with
the staffer, and it could be that Charme Moore is

(04:48):
right that people had it in for him. But the
whole situation itself is just sad and tragic because now
we have a individual who had his professional life, his
personal life completely upended. We have a school with a
bunch of players who don't have a coach to turn
to right now, we have a school in search of
a program, a new coach to lead forth that program.

(05:09):
There are a whole host of things that have transpired
here that have led this to be a completely surreal,
wild situation that if you heard about it, you wouldn't
believe it because it almost seems made up.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Sometimes you should just sit it out, like sometimes you
should just especially if you're in the public eye. Sometimes
you should just sit something out and let it play out.
The part where he says anders that you know he's
had we have a guy that's had his personal professional
life upended. Whose fault is that? Yeah, Adam, you're a

(05:44):
smart guy, like you're not. Whose fault is that?

Speaker 6 (05:50):
So?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
And I love what like the couple think like, oh,
there's are a bunch of reasons why this is a
tough situation. And he mentions a guy like you just said,
has his life up ended, and then talks about the
players but doesn't talk about the actual victim that he.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Kicked her door down last night, threatened her and his
wife both. You know, he made choices. You're a grown
man and she's I mean, I mean, there's a lot
to this story. You're a grown man. She's a thirty
year old woman that you were having the affair with.
So that stuff, to me, that's that's between them. And
so whatever got to the point of a dismissal with cause.

(06:26):
Understand this, and I think this is important because we
have a little president in our state. When Washington State
turfed Nick Rolovich, they didn't do it spur the moment,
they didn't do it overnight. They put them on the
sideline for like sideline in terms of like suspending him,
like we're gonna we're gonna get righty in a second.
When you're in college and you fire a coach for

(06:47):
a cause, the reason they do that is that they
don't have to pay that person. They don't have to
pay that person. Well, you don't do that in a
flippant manner, and you think for a second that Michigan
hadn't okay this When I say Michigan attorneys president, the
people that matter that we're going to have to pay
if they get sued on the back. No, this was
all done for a reason. There's no victim here named

(07:11):
Sharon Moore. Don't go down that road. They don't turf
guys with cause unless there is wait for it, cause, Yeah,
because you don't want to pay guy. If they had
it out for him, fine, you probably let him coach
one more year and the buyout becomes less but you know,
to think that you just made it up and made

(07:32):
up like something to fire him for for cause is ridiculous.

Speaker 7 (07:37):
It's also tragic in a lot of ways that a
guy that had these had this stuff going on in
his life was leading a football program with one hundred
plus student athletes, probably about three dozen support staff and coaches,
and you know, the main part of an athletic department,
and yet here we are, here, we are.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
I just again, it's not the dumbest thing. Well, it's
one of the dumbest things you'll here today. The dumbest
eal here today is a lot more hard trivial. Yes, yeah,
it's a litt lighthearted at two thirty, But that just
caught my attention today. I'm like, just sit it out
at him, just sit this out. And here's the thing, Like,
I can't imagine his employer likes this, Like I I

(08:18):
maybe he's got so much juice, he's bulletproof in that sense.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Maybe, But boy, I.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Mean, working for two different companies in this market, if
I if I said something that irresponsible and that out
of touch, I think I'd hear about it from both
iHeart and that's krocodocula. I just I don't know it
kind of that kind of that kind of knocked me
over a little bit, like, dude, no, Adam, he's not
the he's not the vgat. No, the kids's a whole

(08:43):
different situation. Yes, we're a whole different world. We'll try
to get to that a little bit later on, because
we're a whole different world right now with all that stuff.
I mean, they're all paid mercenaries these days anyway, coming
and going. But I feel the ones. I feel bad
for the ones who just signed a lot of a tent.
Three days are it would have been seven days ago,
seven days ago it was on a Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Talked about this with Wazio too.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Yep, exactly. Those are the ones I do feel sorry for.
All right, take a great come back, Corbyn Smith standing
by the Seahawks are really going to take on Philip
Rivers on Sunday. We'll find out from Corbyn.

Speaker 8 (09:11):
Coming up next, it's time to take a deep dive
into all things Seahawks with Corbyn Smith, Sports reporter for

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Here's Ian all right, Corbus Smith joins us his weekly
visit Big Thanks is sold by Jim sold by Jim
dot com two ms. When you go to that website,
Hello Corbyn, how are you?

Speaker 9 (09:51):
I'm good, he and thanks for having me.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
As always I appreciate. Are we really going to see
Philip Rivers on Sunday taking on one of the best
defenses in the National Football League?

Speaker 10 (10:02):
You know, at this point, with the people I've talked
to out of Indianapolis, I'll be surprised if it isn't
Philip Rivers. And I know that that's crazy, but this
has gone from being crazy too, like, Wow, this is
really gonna happen Territory, which you know, I have great
respect for Philip Rivers. He's one of my favorite competitors ever,
but like this is this is unprecedented if he does

(10:24):
start in this game. But like I said, it looks
like it's trending that that's where they're.

Speaker 11 (10:27):
Going to go here.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
I just I brought this up with mikel Ombren yesterday.
It to me is again an inherent issue with the NFL.
You don't have enough quarterbacks. You don't have enough quarterbacks
on rosters, and it's the most important position. You can
make an argument it's the most important position all of sports.
Doesn't matter what this, it's like the most important thing.

(10:51):
You know. When Holmgren was always a guy Corbyn, an
advocate for drafted quarterback every year. Always have three competent
quarterbacks on your roster, et cetera, et cetera. Nowadays, with
the NFL, fifty three man roster, salary cap is hard
at all those things. That isn't the case, and you

(11:12):
can't develop a young guy like Jalen Milroe is a
very out of the box thing in today's NFL. I
think you'd agree a guy that they're keeping on the
fifty three man they think there's something there. They're going
to develop him, but he's not ready this year. He's
effectively taking a red shirt year. That's hard to do
in today's NFL. I don't know what can change, but
I don't know. To me, it's to see some of
these guys that you know, to see a guy come

(11:33):
off the street to see Aaron Rodgers still out there somehow,
you know, limping around on a field playing. It just
it's not good for.

Speaker 10 (11:39):
The game, no, And I think that you you know,
you look at the rosters, the fact that you're still
only gonna have forty six guys dressing and the emergency
third quarterback thing, like, I think you should allow forty
seven players to be active. And I get it, they're
they're trying to eliminate, well, this guy can play another
position or whatever. But it's that's just I'm just being honest.

(12:00):
That's stupid. Like it's it is like it's twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
You should be able to have.

Speaker 10 (12:06):
I think you should be able to address everybody that's
available on your fifty three and have the practice cup.
But the owners don't want to pay that extra money
for game day checks. That's what it boils down to.
So it's just trying to save a few dollars when
the league would be better off if they made it
that more guys could play and it would give it'd be.

Speaker 12 (12:25):
Better for the players too.

Speaker 10 (12:26):
You don't have guys on the sideline their healthy scratches
every week. I yeah, it it definitely does not help
with a quarterback development, but I think it impacts other
positions too.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
It's a bit it's a bigger picture question, Corban, but
I think it goes to something that's interesting. You know. Again,
I'll reference talking to Mike yesterday. The collective bargaining agreement
is coming up for the for the officials in May.
It's it's up, and you know, I brought up there
with Mike again, you know, and that why why we
don't have full time officials. It's the only major sports
league that doesn't have full time officials. NHL and b A,

(13:00):
major League Baseball. Those three leagues combined aren't what the
NFL is, and yet they all have the financial wherewithal
to have that. NFL player or coach or owners don't
want to pay to have fifty three guys active on
a roster in the most physical and demanding sport there
is you have. I think for the most part, Seattle
is a good example, usually has three backup offensive linemen

(13:22):
dressed for a given game. Like think about that, Like
all these things that go into play. You want to
talk about player safety. You're sending guys out there to
play positions. Sometimes they physically maybe can't do so, but
they have to get out there. I don't know what
needs to change. The NFL makes money hand over fist,
but the fact that they're stepping over dollars to pick
up pennies at times at the expense of a lot

(13:43):
of things is somewhat mind boggling to me.

Speaker 10 (13:46):
Yeah, you hit the hammer on the nail there. It's
one of those things where I don't think. Look, owners
don't have the foreside apparently to think about, you know,
if you have more players available and the product is better,
because it would be if you weren't, Like, think about
the before they put the emergency quarterback rule into play
a few years ago, the forty nine ers and met

(14:06):
playoff game, when they basically were like, okay, are we
going to put a running back or wide receiver at
QB because they ran out of quarterbacks? Like, the product
suffers when you have scenarios like that, and I just
I've been an advocate for expanding the rosters from fifty
three players and just making it that everybody is available

(14:29):
and having you know, three or four practice squad elevations
every week, just because it does make the products suffer
immensely if you have a position group like you mentioned
O line, what if you have three offensive linemen go
down in the same game. Are you putting a tight
end in it? Tackled like it's It creates conundrums that
are easily avoidable and you're gonna make that money back

(14:49):
if the product is better.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
It's just crazy. So that brings us all back to
this Corbyn. How bad is it going to go for
Philip Rivers on Sunday?

Speaker 10 (14:59):
You know, I agree with Mike McDonald on one thing.
If there is a guy that could pull this off
at forty four years of age being out of the
league for five years, The one thing that is not
going to age very much for Philip Rivers is the
ability to get the ball out quickly. He has always
been a guy that gets the ball out of his
hands lightning fast and that weird looking to release is quick.

(15:22):
I mean he gets the ball out fast, and looking
at the video, he still has enough mustard behind the
ball that he can at least throw those ten to
fifteen yard routes. He was throwing dead ducks when he
retired five years ago.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Downfield.

Speaker 10 (15:34):
That is not his game anymore. But the only way
that the Colts have any chance of this working is
that they are able to get the ball out of
his hands quickly and that Jonathan Taylor is running the
football well so that they don't have to have Philip
Rivers drop back thirty forty times in a game. If
that happens, whoever the ambulance driver is. And I hate

(15:54):
saying this, but you gotta be ready because if he
is going to be dropping back thirty or forty times,
bad things are going to happen against this defense. It's
it's an unfortunate situation. I think the Colts are putting
themselves in a really bad spot. In Philip Rivers. I
admire him for the courage to go do this and

(16:15):
thinking he can do this and maybe he'll go out
and prove everybody wrong. But this just this just seems
like it is bad news for everybody that's involved. Just
waiting you might be a great story right now, but
it strikes me as something that's got some really bad consequences.
If things play out the way that I think they're
going to on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Well that's a thing. Corben Smith Joining is sold by
Jim Sold by Jim dot Com is is our sponsor
for this great segment we do every week. And you know,
I think one of the things Corbyn that you know,
you look around the league and you can be Matt
Stafford and Matt Stafford had you know, had his problems
against Seattle through for what was one hundred and thirty
seven yards or something. Matt Stafford he's played every year.

(16:55):
He hasn't missed the last five plus seasons in retirement
and raising a grandchild. So that's the thing that kind
of is crazy to me. I think, is there any
concerned you think at all? I don't. I'm gonna say no.
But there's a human nature element that the Seahawks kind
of take a step back. Philip Rivers is playing, it's
a team that's reeling in Indianapolis, and oh, by the way,

(17:17):
you've got the biggest regular season game that we can
remember in forever coming up a week from today.

Speaker 10 (17:24):
Yeah, there's a lot of different things that play here
when you're looking at me. We were talking about this game,
I think on this show like three or four weeks ago,
and it was like, well, this could be a really
challenging game for the Seahawks because the Colts were one
of the best NFL at that point, and then they've
just had a barrage of injuries and that hasn't just
been Daniel Jenes, mean Sauce Gardner's Shavarius Ward is now

(17:47):
out for the season on injured reserve, might be done
playing because he's had three concussions, and you know, there's
this is the team that's just everything is falling apart
and unraveled here and it almost feels who knows, maybe
they'll come out Sunday and Riley Leonard will be the starter,
and like, hey, we just wanted to make sure you
had to waste your time preparing for Philip Rivers, Like

(18:07):
we don't know how any of this is gonna play out,
but the fact that the Seahawks have that game coming up
the next Thursday against the Rams, like you know that
that is going to bear into some decisions on some things.
If a guy is slightly banged up or whatever, there's
gonna be some things to play into that. So there's
a lot to unpack here. That is kind of a

(18:28):
that are dominoes coming from the fact that you may
or may not have a dude playing that was just
a semi finalist for the Hall of Fame and he'd
be resetting his clock, like I would think he's doing
this thinking he's gonna play, because why would you Why
would you reset your clock if you're just gonna stand
on the sidelines or be a practice squad guy. That's
aenother reason I'm thinking he's got to be playing Sunday.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Yeah, I just it's it's nuts to me. Let's talk
about what the Seahawks did and looking ahead as well,
how encouraged should we all be about the kind of
the emergence just in the special team's play because we
saw him house the one hundred yard return, but just
overall in the passing game, Rashid Shihad kind of made
a difference on Sunday.

Speaker 10 (19:09):
Yeah, I think what I'm pretty sure it was last
week that you asked me when he was going to
break out, and I told you that it's going to
be coming soon, maybe as early as this week. Because
think about the close calls that they'd had, like the
near touchdown in LA against the Rams, which you and
I both know that would have changed the outcome of
that football game.

Speaker 12 (19:26):
But it just.

Speaker 10 (19:28):
Seemed like Sam Darnold was not quite on the same page.
And it takes time for guys that he and JSN
were a cheat code, like basically coming out in April
and they looked like they've been playing for fifteen years together.
But you know, normally that's not.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
How it goes.

Speaker 10 (19:42):
And I think that there's been an adjustment period, you know,
figuring out his speed because a legitimate four to three guy,
and now it seems like that is all starting to
come together. The offense already knew him well with quin
koobe At having coached him, but you still had to
have the quarterback out there. I think that this was
a precursor for what's to come the rest of the season.

(20:03):
I think he's gonna now be a big part of
not just the special teams, but this offense. And you're
gonna see Sam Donald be much more confident getting the
football to him now that they've had a month that
they've gotten to work together.

Speaker 11 (20:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
I just I And you know what I'm daring to
dream here and this is you know, we're still a
ways away. We're not sure what Hunter situation is, but boy,
can you imagine Tory Hunt, Tory Horton and Rashid shi
Heat and JSN Like that's that would be kind of fun.

Speaker 10 (20:31):
That seems like that is gonna be the future. That's
gonna be the future in Seattle for the receiving corps.
Those three guys, you know, maybe Cooper cups here for
the next two years.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Who knows it's gonna happen on that front.

Speaker 10 (20:45):
But yeah, that's what fans are awaiting, is the opportunity.
I mean, Tory Horton still leads receiving a rookies in
receiving touchdowns with five. So when he gets back on
the field, I believe he's eligible to return next week
against the Rams. Be a nice game to have all
three of those guys in the field together against that
difficult Rams defense.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
As I look around this conference, Corbin, I think it's
fun to kind of keep an eye on what's going
on elsewhere. We talked last week about kind of the
power rankings, so called power rankings, things like that, right
and I'm looking through here right now, and I still
I'm not so sure. I can't make an argument, even
with the injuries with San Francisco, that the Rams, Seattle,

(21:29):
San Francisco, and Green Bay are the top four teams
in the NFC right now.

Speaker 10 (21:36):
Yeah, I think you know, forty nine ers credit to
Kyle Shanahan for the job he's done there with the injuries. Like,
to me, those might be the three best teams in
the entire conference, even with the injuries that the forty
nine ers have had. I mean, Green Bay might have
something to say about that, But Philadelphia looks very vulnerable
this year. Tampa Bay has been terrible the last month.

(21:57):
They've fallen apart. They've had some injuries. They got a
few guys.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Coming back that maybe will help.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Them get back on track.

Speaker 10 (22:03):
But Chicago, I'm I'm still not sold on Chicago necessarily
being a front runner, even though they've got a nine
to four record, They've played teams tough. I'm just not
sold on them necessarily. This really does feel like whoever
can survive and heck, whoever is the wild card Teams
like Seattle's got a near impeccable record on the road.
San Francisco has been a good team on the road,

(22:25):
like those teams can go anywhere and win in the
first round, like this could be a rare situation where
you've got three playoff teams from the same division that
could all be viable candidates to be playing in the
NFC Championship Game.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
The Packers are starting to scare me a little bit.
It feels like they're starting to hit their stride. Do
you see the same?

Speaker 10 (22:46):
Yeah, I think that the offense looks like they've finally
gotten out of their own way.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
And I didn't think it.

Speaker 10 (22:52):
Was Jordan Love's fault, but it seemed like they were
kind of conservative the first half of the season and
there was way too many run run pass sequences on offense.
They weren't putting the ball in their quarterback's hands. But
now that they've gotten a couple of their receivers back healthy,
that suddenly looks like the formidable team that we expected.
So yeah, I think Green Bay is very much in

(23:14):
that mix to get that number one seed and potentially
being Santa Claarir for the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Buccaneers played a night on Thursday Night football against a
Falcons team that obviously is reeling a little bit. Four
and nine right now, Tampa Bay looks like a very
different team than when we saw them a few weeks
ago here at Loominfield Corman.

Speaker 10 (23:33):
Yeah, they, like I said, they've just completely unraveled. And
I'm not putting it on Baker Mayfield if they've had
injuries it just seems like it just seems like nothing
has gone right for them really since that game. I mean,
they got absolutely blown out by the rams As so far,
and yeah, they're seven and six now, and there was
a point where they looked like they might be a

(23:54):
threat to be a Super Bowl contender. And they do
get Mike Evans back this week, which is going to
help it. Just it seems like what was working for
them in the first couple of months of the season,
it's certainly not working now, and they're in trouble for
making the playoffs in general. I mean, Carolina is right
there with them at the top of the NFC South.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
And Caroline, see, I'll have to go to Carolina. By
the way, that Seattle Carolina game will be on the
Sundays at the twenty eighth, I believe of December, there
was thought that it might be on a Saturday. It's
going to be ten am on that Sunday, the twenty eighth.
They started doing the last two weekends of the NFL
are flex. They're all us, we're flexing the last two weekends.
Corbin all right, wrapping up this Corbin Smith anmal City spectrum.

(24:34):
Let me get to just the game. What would cause
concern for Mike McDonald against the Colts team with a
grandpa at quarterback, kind of a one dimensional offense with
Jonathan Taylor. What would cause him concern this week at Lumenfield.

Speaker 10 (24:49):
If the Indianapolis Colts can run the football effectively, as
I mentioned earlier, if they can get the ball out
of Philip Rivers' hands quickly and let receivers create after
the catch, If the tackling is not on a level
for Seattle, and Indianapolis is able to extend some drives
with after the catch and their run game, and they're

(25:10):
able to hold onto the football. That to me is
the only way that this game stays close, that Indianapolis
has a chance to win it. If it gets into
situation where they have to start getting the ball pushing
it downfield. I don't see any way that Philip Rivers, Riley,
Leonard Brett, Rippin, the water Boy, whoever's playing quarterback, I
don't think it matters who's playing. If they have to

(25:31):
get the ball downfield, they are going to be in
a world of hurt, and they've got injuries Galora on
defense too. They're gonna have their hands full trying to
keep the Seahawks offense under control too. So look, I
think Indianapolis is gonna bring it. They're gonna do everything
they can. But this is certainly not an ideal situation,
and it's not the ideal game to bring a forty

(25:53):
four year old out of five year retirement to play.
If the Bengals defense is on the other side, then maybe,
just maybe it works, but it's hard for me to
believe that he is going to be able to pull
this off.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Yeah, I just I they run the ball well. They
average almost five yards to carry, four point nine to
eight a rushing attempt, but you know that's Jonathan Taelor.
Then the other thing is too some of those numbers
are inflated at you know, at basically four point nine
eight yards per carry. Some of those numbers are inflated
because Daniel Jones, before his first leg injury and all this,
he found himself some yards here on there. So I

(26:25):
Jhona Taylor's a stud. I am curious about the defense.
Their defense looks pretty damn good. They're number one against
or their number six against the run in the NFL,
number three in rushing yards per play, and be nice
to see if we can get that running game going
for Seattle game, but as you mentioned, they do have
some They do have some injuries up front as well.
I think I think the mental part of this game,
Corbyn is the biggest issue. Just I think that's I

(26:46):
think to wrap it up. I think it's the mental
challenge of getting over the hump of going against these dudes,
knowing what you've got next week, knowing that your season,
division championship, first round, by home seed, home playoff, all
that kind of stuff is on the line, and I
think this is a get through it game. I also
think Corman, help tell me if I'm wrong here. This
will be one of those games that the Seahawks have

(27:07):
all too often. It was sixty six at halftime in
Atlanta against a bad Falcons team. Wouldn't be surprised if
this is closed far too long than it should be.

Speaker 13 (27:14):
Now.

Speaker 10 (27:15):
Yeah, I think this is a game that you've got
to come out and look. Indianapolis has a history in
the last few years of a team that will fold
when things aren't going well. Like that's just the reality.
A lot of these guys are on those teams. I
didn't give Seattle comes out and smokes them early. I
just don't see that the Colts are going to have
the I don't think they're gonna have the thick enough
skin to be able to hang around and keep fighting.

(27:36):
I just really don't. So I think the Seattle knows
the stake here. It's not like they have any margin
for air at the top of the NFC West. So
I don't think Mike McDonald's gonna let these guys come
in coasting or not. Bigure you're looking ahead to the
Rams game, he'll have a ready to play great stuff.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Tell people at Emersony Spectrum, my friend.

Speaker 10 (27:55):
Yeah, emer City Spectrum dot com subscription six dollars a
month or six dollars a year, and we are going

bang for your buck on Emerald City Spectrum.

Speaker 1 (28:16):

fan of any of the local teams, including, as he mentioned,
the lu RedHawks, Coog's Huskies, Rain, Torrent Storm, Mariners, Seahawks.
Would I forget anybody along the way. Crack bracking all there?

Speaker 10 (28:31):
Yeah, the cracking. Hey, yeah, the kracking. We've got a
fantastic credential beat reporter that covers the cracking as well.
Uh so make sure to check it out Emeralcityspectrum dot com.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
Great stuff, my friend, I'll talk to you soon.

Speaker 6 (28:46):
Thanks.

Speaker 10 (28:47):
Take care.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
That is our guy, Corbin Smith. Animal City Spectrum will
do a daily power play coming up next. You're gonna
crack your being out numbers.

Speaker 14 (28:56):

Speaker 1 (29:51):

at all well.

Speaker 15 (29:58):
Great setup by Jordan Everley, who feeds the puck over
to total total waits for Vince time to get a
decision for a one timer in the high slot, slides
it over to him. It's a bomb crack and win
three to two. Pray go on the final Jacks.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
You gotta explain to me the funnel pick. I need
to ask Al.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
What that is.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
I don't I don't know exactly what it is. All
I know is he uses it during an ote winner
and I kind of like it. I'm getting used to it.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Okay, I like it. Hey, you know what, more overtime winners,
more funnel cakes. Are all happy at that point, Vince
done one twenty one into overtime. Seattle wins at three
to two that game after Matty Vaneers tied the game
with twenty six seconds to go at two on a
power play goal, Krack can get the win, much much
needed win. Elliot Toban two assists last night, Vin's done
the goal and two assists, three point night. He had

(30:45):
a huge night for Seattle. Matty Veneer's had that big
goal for the Kracking their power play Seattle's three for seven?
Are you kidding here?

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Here we go?

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Huh? Killed off four or five power plays by the
Kings first one game, like seconds after the double minor
which was gonna maybe be the game winner. Kevin Fiali
scored with just under five minutes to go, but instead
the Crack and get to win. It was huge on
so many levels for them. Next up, they travel to
Utah to take on the Mammoth. That game tomorrow six o'clock.

(31:16):
Five point thirty per game. Right here and you're home
for the Crack at ninety three point three kJ R

Speaker 2 (31:21):
The first game against the Man up this year, right
first one.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
They did not have great success there last year. Twelve
ten and six out of the Cracking on the season
thirty points. There are two points out of a playoff
spot in the Western Conference in what is a very
crowded webbing conference. Right now, I think of nothing else.
You stay above five hundred, that helps, feels good. You
had a good strong start for this season, scuffling along
for a while. Get back to twelve ten and six

(31:47):
on the year. Nice to be. If you're above five
hundred all year, you're going to be in the playoff race.
You're going to be in contention, you're going to be
a problem. Goaltenning has been good. It's also Dad and
Mentors weekend, so the dads and the mentors are going
down there this weekend. So maybe they were there last night.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Yeah, maybe not a coincidence. So that's where they kind
of got off the schneide a little bit.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
I thought that, But yet the Kings had their moms
weekend moms, so the Kings were in attendance and they
lost that lead late. So you know, so I don't
know if that kind of think if it worked last
year for the cracking or not off, then that'll be
a pre game show for tomorrow. All right, Okay, five
thirty again, six o'clock drop of the puck tomorrow in
Delta Center, Yes, the home of Stockton Malone and David

(32:25):
Locke and the Utah All right, here's what we got
coming up. That's your daily power play. Big thanks to
our friends at Isakauahonda Camoda. Big thanks to them for
all their support. Coming up next, this is a week
one for most of the playoffs for fantasy football. What
does that mean? Pure panic stress? Whatever might be in,

(32:47):
if you're in, if you're not in, you might be
playing to avoid last place as well. I know that
feeling all too well, not fun. So you got questions
for funds and here's here to answer those. Four nine,

The captain Mike Benton has the pregame show for you

(33:58):
all right Monday night, Thursday Night five, all tonight, It's

and Buccaneers that game because right here on nine three

with things, including Mike Holmgren today, Sean Moore is in jail.
He's the former Michigan coach who got busted because well
he was kind of creep. We'll just leave it at that.
Right now, I think we're good. I think we're Anderson,

(34:19):
you're ready to start the weekend.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
I am totally ready.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Let's do it. Since right on it's a long past.

Speaker 14 (34:24):
Pair side guy's the leading face of fantasy sports.

Speaker 11 (34:27):
Touchdown.

Speaker 8 (34:28):
Even though you can't see him, trust us. It's time
Forrian's weekly visit with the Athletics. Brandon Fundstone brought to

Speaker 14 (34:58):
He's got a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
All right, here we go. Our good friend Brandon Funston
joins us his week. We visit four nine four five one.
That is the text line. We'll get your text in
just a second. And Andrews, I can tell you you
may need to go to the text line for me
because issues.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
I got issues, issues, got no worries. I gotta pulled up.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Okay, I appreciate that, Thank you. Uh do we have Andrew?
You see? Do we have any bulls eyes at one
o'clock today?

Speaker 2 (35:27):
Bulls eyes? Let me look look Zerole's eye just a
couple one seconds.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
Dang it. I don't like that at all. Four nine
four five one. And if you set something in early
and you think, man, I wonder if I was a
little early, you might want to send it in again
because we'll read your text in just a second. Funds.
And how are you, my friend? I'm doing good? How
you doing hanging in there? Uh so? Yeah? Yeah, it's
uh it's it's either playoff week number one or it's

(35:54):
avoid last place week number one. Is that kind of
how we're looking at this week?

Speaker 3 (35:58):
Uh?

Speaker 16 (35:58):
Yeah, that's that's the way it is. And it's you know,
if you're sitting there with Jonathan Taylor or some of
these colts, you're like, what what's happening right now? We
got Philip Rivers in play this week?

Speaker 1 (36:09):
It's crazy, where does before I go to the phones,
where does Taylor rank this week? Because I mean, you know,
Seattle's going to do one hundred percent selling out to
the run.

Speaker 16 (36:19):
Yeah. Well, the thing about it is, I would you
know if I have Tyler Warren. I think he's like,
he's very much in play. We talked about how the
Seahawks struggle against tight ends and Philip Rivers has been
a guy like especially late in his career, who was
like to throw the tight end. I think Jonathan Taylor,
we're going to watch out for him leaking out into
the out of the backfield and maybe being a guy

(36:41):
that catches four or five balls and maybe makes a
big play that way. So I think if you're a
Seattle you're worried about the short area targets and not
so much downfield, and you definitely are going to sell
it to stop the run. But don't let those guys
get out in the flats or or you know, get
kind of like in that short area in the middle.
I think Tyler Warren's for a big, big day this week.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
All right, as I look here at the phone lines,
I can tell you all of the all stars, all
of our Hall of famers, I think pretty much they're
all there. That's a good sign. Maybe we'll find out.
Let's start as always, Yes, indeed, Mike in Edmunds, Mike,
you as always are first up with Funston.

Speaker 14 (37:23):
How are you hi?

Speaker 6 (37:24):
And I'm doing good? Hi, Brandon, Hey, Mike, Hope you
guys are doing well too.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
We are, guest, Yes, fire Away, what do you got
going for us?

Speaker 6 (37:33):
I'm one of the guys that needs dramatic help to
avoid last place. So here we go. I gotta say
I'm at least a little concerned about some of the
weather in some of these cities, but so not that
it matters. I'm on PPR. But it doesn't matter for
a QB. Gough or Mariota or the shadow that used

(38:01):
to be Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
Thank you as always, Thank you, Mike. Great to hear
your voice.

Speaker 16 (38:06):
You know, Lamar Jackson, it's about the best matchup you
can have against Cincinnati. Did face him a couple of
weeks ago and he was just so so. But last
week ran for I think the second most yards of
the year. So that was encouraging because I think we've
you know, we've basically been assuming he's been, you know,
not one hundred percent healthy, but ran for over forty yards,

(38:26):
had their rushing touchdown. Didn't look great, but I end
up being a decent fantasy day. I would run him
back just because you know, that's an encouraging sign. Also
encouraging you get Cincinnati again.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
Lamar is you're saying with Lamar, You're rolling with Lamar.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
I'm going with Lamar.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
Yeah, I like that, Thank God. All right, uh, good question,
my great question for some of us. Let's see how
this goes. Ricky and Tacoma. What's up? Ricky?

Speaker 9 (38:52):
All right, all right, how' go? Tell us?

Speaker 1 (38:55):
Good buddy, how are you?

Speaker 17 (38:56):
And good?

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Great?

Speaker 9 (38:57):
I want to give a shout so I know we
have a lot of callers up north of Seattle, like
the Jaulma Sarry and Hope everybody's doing okay with the
heavy rain and flooding. So I want to get a
shout up.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Tell then Ricky Well said, Well said in d we
got a couple of those guys on the line, we'll
check in with them in a second. Are guys from
Sultan up there? So absolutely absolutely all right? What you got?

Speaker 9 (39:14):
All right? All right, Brandon, Well you kind of answered
it for me, Brandon a little bit. I got a
two leagues where I got, you know, Tyler Warren. Now,
so I guess trying to combine the question, I got
three guys, I need the best two standard scoring I
hat Deebo, Samuel, Tyler Warren, and Suba Hubbard. Which two
three should I go with?

Speaker 4 (39:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 16 (39:35):
I think I go with Tyler Warren. Is it a PPR.

Speaker 9 (39:37):
League, Well, one's a PPR one standard.

Speaker 16 (39:40):
But yeah, you know, I kind of like I kind
of like Deebo Samuel in the world of no zach Ertz.
You know, he can he can kind of you know,
catch those short area passes. I like Terry McLaurin as well.
This week it's a great matchup against the Giants. So
I think I'm gonna go. I'm gonna I'm gonna go
with the two receiving options and and Deebo.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
All right, what do you say, Deebo Samuel? Deebo Samuel
Diebo goes back to what Mike said early the rotting
carcass of what was formerly known as Deebo Samuel but
just getting larger by the day like the rest of us.
All Right, Ricky, I want to hear from you next week.
By good luck.

Speaker 9 (40:16):
All right, take care of y'all.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
There you go. That's Ricky in Tacoma. Well this will
be interesting, Rob BURI in Hi, Rob, How are you.

Speaker 11 (40:26):
Say it with me?

Speaker 9 (40:27):
We're not in the last place.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
I wish I could say with you, I'm not either,
but I'm damn close.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
But what do you got wrong? What do you got? Buddy?

Speaker 10 (40:38):
Looks in great day, So I don't even though if
we go Dak or Samuel for again, we're not in
last place, Dak.

Speaker 16 (40:45):
Or Sammy Darnold. Uh yeah, I'm gonna go with Dak.
It's looking like, amazingly, it's looking like ceedee Lamb. That's
a good chance to play. Did not seem like he
was going to be able to play this week after
the hit he took last week and got the concussion.
But it's been practicing, so you should have George Pickens
should have Ceedee Lamb AT's disposal.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
I like Dak.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
All right, there you go, that's our guy, Robin Bury.
And will we hear from him next week as well,
that's the big question. We'll stay in Bury and christ
and Bury and you're up next.

Speaker 13 (41:13):
Good afternoon, gentlemen. I need wide receiver number two to
be a Locke, please, as I'm in fighting for first
place and I can't trust the Eagles offense. But DeVonta Smith,
Jordan Addison who doesn't have a quarterback, or Jacobe Meyers.

Speaker 16 (41:35):
Yeah I have actually Jacoby Myers been looking good, have
one spot ahead of DeVonta Smith. So and definitely Jordan Addison.
I don't know he's got achilles issue. He may play,
I don't know that he will, and he's not gonna
bee hundred percent, So I'm gonna give Myers the slight
edge over Smith. The Jets without Sauce Gardner and Quentin

(41:56):
Williams have been just a shell of their former self.

Speaker 3 (41:59):
So good matchup for Myers.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
Man, Thank you, good good Chris. But so far great questions.
They've all been relevant to me, which you know, selfishly
I appreciate. I'm alive to stay out of last Yeah. Okay,
we've got Dooki Bowl stuff going on right now, and
I don't know if you know. I told you guys
last week there's some pressure like Jess is losing her
mind right now. So yes, uh as his anders. Okay, Uh,

(42:23):
let me do this first. We've got our guys up
in Sultan. Let's start first, Derek and Sultan. And I know,
as Ricky mentioned, it's it's Stillholmich County, Skadget County. All
those areas up north getting hit really hard, not like
others in King County aren't. But uh, Derek, first of all,
hope you're doing okay up there, Bud.

Speaker 18 (42:41):
Yeah, Yeah, I'm doing doing all right. Got a winter
rise of the boat.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Oh yeah, got no doubt, no doubt that you don't
have to deploy that. But yeah, I'm hoping you don't
have to deploy that. All right. Finally, what's your question?
All right?

Speaker 18 (42:57):
Well, I was gonna be uh two of these three,
but now I need two of these four because you
got me thinking about Tyler Warren here. So so two
of these four for a half point PPR. I've got
Michael Wilson, Ladd Mconkey, Tyler Warren, and T Higgins. And
let's just assume all four of these guys are going
to start.

Speaker 16 (43:17):
Oh yeah, you know, and I'm gonna go with T Higgins.
And let's assume that Marvin Harrison isn't going to play.
It's still gonna be a tough matchup against Houston for
Michael Wilson. But the numbers he's putting up with Marvin
Harrison out of the lineup are just epics. So I
don't think you can. I don't think you can steer
away from from that. So I'm gonna go Higgins and Wilson.

(43:39):
But that's a that's kind of a lucky seven situation.
Those are all pretty good options.

Speaker 1 (43:44):
Love it, okay, perfect, Derek, good to hear you. Okay,
Andrews if I can, I want to stay in Sultan
are Sultan? Two steps Steven and Sultan hopefully like Derek,
you're doing okay up there.

Speaker 12 (43:55):
I'm doing okay. My brother's now not so much. We
haven't able to look at it yet, so can get
in there next couple of days.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
Just done to it, buddy, Sorry about that. Our best
of your family up there. Man, that's that's no good,
all right? What do you got for sure?

Speaker 9 (44:08):
So thanks to you guys.

Speaker 12 (44:10):
A couple of weeks ago, I trade my Baker Mayfield.
I somehow went from ninth place to fifth place and
made the playoffs in the league. I don't know how miracle.
So now I have to have two of these six
wide receivers Bailey Wilson, Chessla, Mike Evans, DJ Moore or
Michael Pittman.

Speaker 16 (44:27):
Like Evans, DJ Moore, Michael you know what I'm gonna go,
Michael Pittman and Michael Wilson.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
There you go, all right, beautiful, perfect, all right is returning.
He has had the color monk.

Speaker 16 (44:39):
Sounds like it's in returning, but sounds like Daylan McMillan's returning.
They got like four receivers. Who knows how much Evans
is going to be mixed in right away. So I'm
a little bit Larry not going full board on Mike
Evans the first week back.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
Beautiful, love it h and again our best. Everybody up north.
Let's stay someone up north. Steve is in shoreline, Steven Shoreline,
You're next up. Go ahead, Yeah, two for you.

Speaker 9 (45:01):
I'm not playing Pittman.

Speaker 17 (45:02):
I can't not with the guy who hasn't played in
five years. So it's two out of three I need.
I'm sorry, I can't do it. And Buka McConkie and Pearsall.
I got a bench one Maconkie and Pearsall.

Speaker 1 (45:16):
Rick he used to, wasn't it? Buka good for a
while this year. I faintly remember that. Maybe I'm wrong.

Speaker 16 (45:21):
I don't know he was, and he was more recently
good than Ricky Piersoll was. Ricky Pearsall played like two
weeks to start the year, then made us all keep
him on his roster, on the roster all year long,
and he had like three other games of which he's done.

Speaker 1 (45:34):
Absolutely can I hate this thing. I'm gonna go down
a rob road for a second.

Speaker 9 (45:41):
I know before you go, is Kyle Pitt's gonna play?

Speaker 3 (45:45):
Didn I think he is?

Speaker 16 (45:47):
He's questionable, which I mean, I think if he was
gonna be out, we we'd probably already feel like he
was going to be on. I think they're gonna have
to use him because Drake London is out. Of course
he is, and so I I just think Kyle Pitts
should have a big role. I have him ranked six
that tight end. I think he should be pretty solid.

Speaker 1 (46:03):
All right, what was the first question. I'm sorry I
stepped on and.

Speaker 17 (46:07):
Buka McConkie or Piersall.

Speaker 9 (46:09):
One of them's got to go on the bench.

Speaker 16 (46:11):
I think I'm gonna sit Piersall honestly, Okay, Yeah, and
you just watched the McConkie thing. Because he has a
foot issue, he's been limited in practice. I think he's
gonna play, but I'm not as high on him as usual.

Speaker 3 (46:22):
I still like him better than Piersall.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
All right, let's see we got a couple more phone calls.
I think let's go to Jordan in Tacoma.

Speaker 13 (46:29):
Hey, guys, happy holidays.

Speaker 11 (46:31):
And thanks to.

Speaker 9 (46:33):
You bet u full PPR.

Speaker 17 (46:37):
Need to play two.

Speaker 5 (46:39):
I got Lad McConkie, Stefan Diggs, Chubb A Hubbard and
Kyle Manong guy, oh and I'm sorry, and Christian Watson.

Speaker 16 (46:50):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Stefan Diggs. He had he
had a ten catch game over one hundred and forty
yards against against the Bills the last time he faced them.
And who was your last one there? Because that was
the other one I wanted to go with there it.

Speaker 17 (47:06):
Yeah, I like, I don't like that matchup.

Speaker 16 (47:09):
I don't either, But you got Wis Dobbs Golden. All
those guys hurt. Josh Jacobs is hurt. Watson's been kind
of like the guy for them. I still like his
chances to make a big player too. I like him
a little bit better than the other guys there.

Speaker 1 (47:23):
Beautiful perfect, Thanks, thank you very much. Thank you, Scott,
and Mary's so your last call. We're gonna get some
text Scott, go ahead, fire away, buddy.

Speaker 9 (47:32):
Full PPR.

Speaker 12 (47:33):
I need one quarterback, Jackson Dart or Jill Burrow.

Speaker 16 (47:39):
Yeah, I like Jackson Dart's matchup, but I have Joe
Burrow ranked number three this week against Baltimore hopefully has T.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
Higgins there.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
Even if T.

Speaker 16 (47:48):
Higgins doesn't play, I'd still play Burrow over Dark. I
just think he's safer and Dart, you know, he's he's
pretty reckless. You always have to fear about him doing
something that knocks himself out of the game.

Speaker 2 (47:59):
If you had Matthew Stafford added to that three.

Speaker 16 (48:03):
Let's see, well, if you have Matthew Stafford added to
that three, I have Stafford as my number two ranked
quarterback this week. The Lions are one of the most generous,
very one of the most very generous in Fantasy.

Speaker 2 (48:20):
No no reason I asked that I was no.

Speaker 1 (48:22):
Reason, no reason whatsoever. Andrews I do have good news.
I got the I got the text.

Speaker 11 (48:27):
You'll do.

Speaker 1 (48:27):
I'll do the early ones, you get some late ones
in here we go, fire and away. This came in
at one second after need to please full PPR. Tet McMillan,
Nico Collins, Michael Wilson, Mike Evans, Christian Watson needs to
full PPR.

Speaker 16 (48:40):
Let's go with Nico for sure, and may give Teed
McMillan over Michael Wilson only because Houston's just been so
tough on.

Speaker 13 (48:51):
No.

Speaker 1 (48:51):
I want a Christian I wanted you say Christian Watson.

Speaker 16 (48:53):
Oh, he's after that. Wilson then Watson.

Speaker 3 (48:57):
That's it.

Speaker 11 (48:57):
Those are all.

Speaker 16 (48:58):
That's four in the top twenty one for me.

Speaker 1 (49:00):
Wide conceiver, Okay, Ben Pitts or fannin.

Speaker 16 (49:04):
Yeah, Harold Fannon with likelihood of David and Joku out.
Look good With Shadra Sanders, I have him two spots
ahead of Mike Kyle Pitts.

Speaker 1 (49:12):
Still one second after one o'clock. Unbelievable. This is from
Chris and Auburn. He says half point BPR Mayfield or Golf.

Speaker 16 (49:20):
I'm gonna go with Goff one spot ahead of Mayfield though, Yeah,
I mean Mayfield's getting some reinforcements back, but I'm not
sure he's one hundred percent healthy.

Speaker 1 (49:28):
Need two of the next four DK, Christian Watson, DeVante Smith,
Mike Evans need to Let's.

Speaker 16 (49:33):
Go with Christian Watson and Davonte Smith and DK is
just very close in that group.

Speaker 3 (49:40):
Actually have them all back to back to back.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
This guy's stashed quarterbacks on his roster. Mayfield Dart Love
Sanders or Party Keys.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
Mayfield Dart Love Sanders.

Speaker 16 (49:51):
I think Dart is actually the highest guy there of
that group, So it's a great matchup against the Commanders.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
So give me Jackson Dark Two things A. It's not
a super flex league, can be? I think it's a
four team league. That guy full PPR Golf or Love.
Let's go with Jared Goff, McLaurin or Jalen Warren.

Speaker 16 (50:14):
I'm gonna go Terry McLaurin for the reason we get
banged up guys in the in the backfield. Good matchup
and no zach Ert, So give me Terry McLaurin.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
The three of the following genty Harvey Bowers, Kittle Owers,
and who's the guy you get rid of out of
that group? RV. Bowers Kittle.

Speaker 3 (50:35):
I'm gonna go with R. J.

Speaker 16 (50:38):
Harvey against Green Bay as as the out there. That's
that's very close. I actually kind of like, I kind
of like the two receivers over both the running backs.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
But I'll put.

Speaker 16 (50:47):
Genty in there because I think he's gonna get a
decent amount of receiving work.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
And we've yet to get to one minute after the hour.
We're still in single digit seconds the playoffs. Baby pretty
er Dak. That's Ryan as Scottsdale. He's all happy, screw you, Ryn.

Speaker 11 (51:05):
I think Dak.

Speaker 16 (51:06):
I think that party is gonna have it. I have
him top six this week. I think it's coming off
the buy and they'll be healthy and they got Tennessee
at home.

Speaker 3 (51:13):
I really like that matchup.

Speaker 1 (51:14):
We'll go from one guy listening on the iHeartRadio app
to another guy. This is our buddy Scott and Helo Hawaii.
He wants to know Jackson Dart or Joe Burrow full PPR.

Speaker 3 (51:21):
Yeah, and Burrow's my number three. So give me Joe
Burrow against Baltimore.

Speaker 17 (51:25):
Man.

Speaker 1 (51:25):
I love our guys on the iHeart Radio. Yeah right
from Coyle text and all those guys are really loyal.
Still not I'll get this. It was a whopping three
minutes after the hour, but you know what, what the hell,
it's a good question. They'll turn it over to Andrews.
Here we go. Need one R running back, one wide receiver,
one flex and a half point PPR Devin, Neil, Jordan Mason,

(51:45):
Jordan Addison, Breist Hall, t Higgins, Chewba Hubbard. So needs one.
Basically three of those guys.

Speaker 16 (51:51):
So Neil, Hall, Hubbard, Mason would be out. Is that
Jordan Addison?

Speaker 1 (51:57):
He said, Jordan Addison, Yeah, you want to right.

Speaker 16 (52:00):
Him out just because he's not healthy and the quarterbacks suspects.
But I have to start a receiver there. I think
he was the only one, so I think, yeah, you
gotta throw Adison in there.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
Anders get the latest ones, all right.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
I just want to post in there from the three
oh three. Why do people say PPR then ask about
QBS drives me nuts? Yeah that is pretty funny. Actually, hey,
they do receive some passes every now and then, A right, yeah,
need too, halfway PPR, ag Buca, Breese Hall and Debo.

Speaker 1 (52:30):
Need too.

Speaker 16 (52:31):
Yes, give me brief and I'm gonna go Debo over.

Speaker 3 (52:36):
Buka just slightly.

Speaker 2 (52:37):
If Josh Jacobs doesn't play. Do I start Canine, Tyrone,
Tracy or Emmanuel Wilson.

Speaker 16 (52:43):
Uh, you know what, I'd probably go with Emmanuel Wilson,
even though it's not a great matchup.

Speaker 3 (52:47):
But it's just gonna get.

Speaker 16 (52:49):
It's gonna get probably more of the.

Speaker 1 (52:50):
What's Jacob's situation? What's the situation he is?

Speaker 16 (52:54):
He he's got a knee issue. Honestly, feels like they
call him day to day.

Speaker 3 (53:00):
It's a big game.

Speaker 16 (53:00):
I just feel like Jacob's the kind of guy that's
probably gonna try to cut through it. He's done it
in the past, he's done it recently already in yourself.

Speaker 1 (53:08):
Let's see quick Weaver pick up.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
All I understand bench one, Tyrone, Tracy, Devin Singletary, Romadonsayu.

Speaker 16 (53:17):
Well, Donsday has got the foot issue. He hasn't played
in the last couple of weeks limited practice. I'm probably
benching him even if he does play, to.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
Be honest, So you're going with the running back tandem
in New York there?

Speaker 16 (53:29):
Huh yeah, Well, I mean it's a good match up
against Washington. Both of them have decent chances to do
something decent. I just don't roma Dune say easy when
even when he's been playing.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
Has been kind of doing that as a Roma Dunay owner,
I can agree with that. Yeah, Bo Nicks, JJ McCarthy,
Trevor Lawrence or Justin Herbert.

Speaker 11 (53:47):
I'm gonna go.

Speaker 16 (53:48):
I'm just I'm looking Trevor Lawrence. There you go, got
him at number eleven this week against the Jets, talked
about the Jets' defensive issues.

Speaker 3 (53:56):
Give me Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
All right, last question and then I have an extra
text Keenan Allen or DeAndre Swift DeAndre Swift Okay, extra text,
not a question. Just want to let Brandon Funston know
that fantasy football sucks and I'm contemplating retirement.

Speaker 1 (54:11):
Wow. Wow is that time of year? Yeah, actually there's
there's another one I want to get to. But first
let's see, uh Zach Charbonnay or Emmanuel Wilson from val that's.

Speaker 16 (54:26):
A Josh Jacobs TBD if if it's no Jacobs and
it's definitely Emmanuel Wilson.

Speaker 1 (54:32):
Okay, thank you. I was asking for a friend, actually
just asking for a friend. Uh, this one came into
and I've got to read it. Okay, this is hysteric
Landers I'm sure he saw this on the two five
to three. Who's a good waiver wire pickup to stash
and play spoiler to the guys who made the playoffs
and need depth down the stretch hash hashtag team petty

(54:55):
Year league.

Speaker 2 (54:56):
Doesn't have can't pick up players when they're eliminated from
the playoffs. Oh yeah, that's a rule that must be added.

Speaker 1 (55:03):
Don't you just go and see who the top guys
are that are on available and just pick them up
and drive.

Speaker 16 (55:07):
That's the problem with the like the toilet Bowl games. Yeah, dude,
it allows everybody to still work the waiver wires.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
You can't do that.

Speaker 16 (55:14):
That's just getting in the way of the of the
people that actually matter.

Speaker 1 (55:17):
Somebody might have just picked up Emmanuel Wilson from outside
of nowhere. That might have just happened. And then and
then you want to talk about team Petties, that same
person might be rooting for Josh Jacobs to maybe sit
out this week. That'd be unfortunate. That would suck, that

(55:38):
would be unfortunate.

Speaker 11 (55:39):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (55:40):
Otherwise, otherwise you guys will all be listening to a
bunch of knuckleheads from Maple Valley doing a radio show
for the first time in their life.

Speaker 16 (55:46):
God, yeah, you'll have to give me a heads up
when that happened.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
I don't want to mid that. Yeah, you're partially to blame.
Don't worry.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
Losing their fantasy leagues that are calling in regularly here.

Speaker 1 (56:00):
These guys are all so fired up. We're the queen
An Beer Hall last night. They're like, still bringing it up. Man,
I'm like, we haven't even started the consolation. I've won
two straight games. I might be okay, Like shut up,
all right? For those who didn't get their questions answered,
how do they do so fund soon?

Speaker 16 (56:16):
Yeah, we're still We're still churning stuff out at the
Athletic Just go to the Fantasy Football pages rankings. There
a bunch of insights to get you ready for a
very important Week fifteen fantasy playoff game. And you can
jump on our discord as well. We have moderators there
answer your questions live. You can get an answered here.

Speaker 1 (56:32):
By the way, Keith Miller, I'm not going to read
that on the air about your fantasy funny comparing him
to the now disposed of coach at the University of Michigan.
I'll leave it at that, all right, Thank you, sir,
talk to you soon. Take care accurate to you. All right,
that's fun, Sten joining us. The dumbest thing we've heard
all day. Guess who's back. You won't be surprised. We'll

(56:53):
have that for you next.

Speaker 8 (57:00):
The InferNET Show probably presents ignorance bad. It's finest until
Softy hits the air. A special part of your day
where intelligence takes the segment off. If it sounds stupid,
it probably is, Ladies and gentlemen, the dumbest thing you'll
hear today.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
Shout out to my friend Theo Loss in the spokes Review.
I retweeted this from him earlier. We went back and
just found the audio. Oh andrews our buddy to get
the back song giving Huh, he's back at it again.
Mick Croned, the UCLA head coach, last heard complaining about

(57:45):
travel in the Big Ten conference. He should be worried
about the fact that it's called the Big Ten and
there's like eighteen teams or mapping off or whatever. Mick
Cronin is upset. God Zaga hosting in a sense, they
call it neutral site. Gonzaga hosting UCLA Saturday at Climate

(58:05):
Pledge Arena. Now I look to see what the ticket
situation looked like. It's not sold out. There are there
are some seats available, but my guess is just looking
at the seat chart, they'll have pro if they don't
sell it out, it'll be really close to a sellout.
At Climate Pledge, tickets start for really bad seats, like

(58:26):
sixty dollars up to like hundreds of dollars for tickets,
So it's a pretty hefty ticket to go see Gonzaga,
number eight or nine in the country against number twenty
five UCLA Top twenty five matchup.

Speaker 3 (58:39):
Right.

Speaker 1 (58:40):
Game time on Saturday at Climate Pledge Arena is eight
thirty pm. Mccronen was asked about that today Andrews hit.

Speaker 19 (58:49):
It game time. Bro, don't get me started.

Speaker 4 (58:57):
If I would have known that, if, I mean, I
don't know what I could it. I mean, it's ridiculous.
How do you, I mean, why don't we just play
at midnight?

Speaker 19 (59:05):
I mean, basically, iness.

Speaker 4 (59:06):
I know, trust me, I mean, I know you got
to deal with it too.

Speaker 19 (59:10):
Yeah, how do you? I mean, does that change your
whole game day prep?

Speaker 4 (59:13):
No, it's just like a weekday. We're so but it's
just on a Saturday.

Speaker 19 (59:18):
I mean, what are we doing. It's just so disappointing.
It's so crazy. Makes these kids get back at the
time of day, you know.

Speaker 4 (59:27):
Anyway, you don't know you tip it off at eleven thirty.

Speaker 19 (59:31):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (59:32):
My dad's real happy about it. He's gonna the's eighty four.
He's gonna have to take two naps on Saturday to
be able to watch us play Saturday night.

Speaker 19 (59:41):
I mean, what are we doing? I mean, no words,
no words.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
Well, had plenty of words, Mick, crowded, You had plenty of.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
Words, dude, Allie, I'd watch it. It's a peek behind
the curtain here. We like last second, tried to get
the audio because originally you were just going to read
a quote. I'm watching through the whole interview because it's
like the whole media availability like twenty minutes or so.

Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
All he does is complain the entire time about something
like God.

Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
Yeah, no, I know, we're both scrolling through. It's complaining
about this, complaining about that. Oh my god, let me
just Mick Cronin made six point one million dollars last
year to coach u CLA basketball. Six point one million dollars.
You're playing at eight thirty Why are you playing eight

(01:00:29):
thirty in Seattle on the West coast because esp And
told you you're playing at eight thirty in Climate Pledge
Arena on a Saturday night. Now listen. If you want
to think it's too late for your father who's eighty
four years old, Sure, I get it. It's it's late
for all is That game will end at the latest

(01:00:49):
at ten forty five ish ten thirty ten forty five.
College basketball games are normally about two hours local time. Yeah.
His college football team, the Bruins of UCLA, they have
games this year end well after eleven PM Pacific time,
Big ten after dark, Pack twelve after.

Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
Dark, both teams on the West coast. Why is he
and both cost Eastern time? I just I don't get it.

Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
He thinks he's still in CINCINNATID. But let go back.
You are playing. You make six million dollars a year.
They tell you when you're gonna play your games. Hell,
if they tell you're gonna play it at midnight, you
can say no. Go coach Whitworth and make fifty thousand
dollars a year. Go coach ups or Plu and go
make fifty or sixty grand a year. Go do that

(01:01:34):
or you can make six million and play when the
hell they doe? He is so out of touch. Oh
my god, the stuff last year about travel. You're on
a charter, you dipstick, you're on a charter play.

Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
I almost was ready for the swear there, like.

Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
Buddy, relax, r E la X relax, take your money,
be happy and go. I think he's more upset than
his team has had a couple of kicks of the
candle on the way they're they're ranked twenty fifth in
the country. I think with Billadeau and a couple of
those guards they picked up in the offseason, they thought
they'd be better. Uh, and maybe they will get going.
But stop it. See now, what you do is you

(01:02:09):
make us all sympathetic to Gonzaga, and that's nobody wants
to be. Nobody wants that, Mick. You make Gonzaga be
a team we want to root for this weekend. That's
what you have done, Mark Few versus Mick Crowded. Oh
my god, who do you root for? Crona or Few

(01:02:31):
like Mark a Few? Like which guy do you root for?
I don't want to root for either one of them either,
But it's like, that's what we're reduced to that somebuddy,
we are reduced to that gologgers. That's right to damn right.
I mean, seriously, you're making six million dollars to coach basketball.

(01:02:52):
You wear these incredibly nice suits, you look great. That's fantastic, buddy.
Just take it, relax and move on. Is the dumbest
thing I've heard today, and that includes Adam Schefter speaking
today on Sharon Moore. Yeah, so that's that, like when
you top that, you've done something, like you've really hit
the lottery, you hit the jackpot. Good for you. My god, I.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Think he like purposely knows that we do this segment
and he wants to be a part of it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
Do you think so? Yeah, he just wants to just
wants to get there. Yeah, that could be. That could be,
Oh my god. Anyway, that's fine. I just I just
I find that Listen, eight thirties late. It's late for everybody.
It's late for the people going to the game. I
get it. But they wanted that game on two top
twenty five teams, two Marquee programs out wet. Yeah. Really
if we're talking about two Yeah, they're the two teams. Yeah,

(01:03:40):
they're the two teams that matter out West and your showcase.
Yeah it's eleven thirty back East, that's fine. Midwest is
ten thirty. I get, we understand all those things. It's
part of the price that you pay for being a
you know, out West and be a good program. Now,
this has nothing to do with the Big ten, by
the way, because it's not a Big ten game like
he could. They could be in the Pack twelve still

(01:04:00):
and they'd still UCLA and god Zagas will be playing.
The eight thirty. Has nothing to do with the arena.
There's nothing going on that day. You're off. They just said, hey,
we want to have this game here on December thirteenth.
They scheduled it, CPA did, and then ESPN dictates when
the game is going to be and it's going to
be a thirty and all kids get back so late. Yeah, yeah,
kids will get back. Kids will get back roughly three

(01:04:21):
in the morning, and they'll have Sunday off. They can
relax on Sunday. None of them go to class in person.
They all do online studying. If they even do that anymore.
If I mean, come on, just stop it, stop it.
You're making a zillion dollars and you know who else
is making a lot of money. The players Billodeoh, Tyler
Billodeau went started Oregon State. He's making a ton of

(01:04:41):
money there. The guard from New Mexico, the transfer there.
Let's go on and on, guys, relax, make crown. I
hope Gonzaga just absolutely bury it.

Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
So right though, now we have to root for the Zags,
getting hard.

Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
I'm rooting hard. Not only do I want the Zags
to win, I want I want the Zags to do
to UCLA what Michigan did to Gonzaga. Oh, that's what
I want. I want them to absolutely race boat race,
Barium Mix. Gonna be complaining and crying and wanting the
entire game.

Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
Maybe we'll get another dumbest thing after that. If that happens,
Oh we will.

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
Now you've got the link to their YouTube page, so
we can just go find something. We just find the
dumbest thing once a week from Mick Cronin. I mean, hell,
there was what nineteen minutes in that press conference is
probably like twelve minutes of stupidity in there.

Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
So bad?

Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
What a moron? All right, Okay, let's see Husky's at
five pm. Yeah, Huskis at five pm. A few of
the weasel versus crona the cryberry root for a power outage.

Speaker 11 (01:05:44):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
Oh man, oh well yeah, what do you do there? Huh?
What do you do? Hey? You know what I'll tell
you to do. If you're a Gonzaga fan to go
to the game, swing on by the queen An Beer Hall.
Beforehand you can watch the Husky's Lamble, the last ever
LA Bowl, by the way, you can watch that at
five o'clock, and then head on up to Climate Pledge Arena.
Have a couple. I had the peanut butter smashburger last night.
Oh baby, so good, so so good. All right, take

(01:06:11):
a break, we'll come back. Jackie with Softy. He's the
five twenty bar and girl next. Alrighty, let's head to
the five twenty bar and grill.

Speaker 20 (01:06:26):
Alrighty then alrighty, all right.

Speaker 17 (01:06:30):
Righty, oh alrighty are how are you good?

Speaker 11 (01:06:35):
Good win for the boys last night? Over time?

Speaker 1 (01:06:37):
Well you know what, just you guys do a new
show with the coach and you're gonna win the same day.
And I think it's a good thing. Good signed.

Speaker 20 (01:06:43):
Hockey's weird, man, Hockey's weird, Tell me about it.

Speaker 11 (01:06:46):
So weird. Sport to figure out and tell me about it.

Speaker 20 (01:06:48):
Somebody told me the other day it's like watching that
foosball game.

Speaker 11 (01:06:53):
Because everybody looks the same, especially from far away.

Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
Well, from far away, or if you've had three or four,
I could kulconese like you have.

Speaker 20 (01:07:01):
So yes, what's the beer of choice you think for
the Canadian hockey player?

Speaker 3 (01:07:05):
Ah?

Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
For the hockey player? Yeah?

Speaker 11 (01:07:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
You know what's wild is they don't they don't go
after like they used to.

Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
Really yeah that bs no, I'm talking it's the temple
people now.

Speaker 1 (01:07:17):
Yeah, this is all that's infected hockey too. It's infected
hockey too, sir. It's not good. Let me ask you
a question. They're not tar likes like you and me.

Speaker 20 (01:07:25):
Would you rather live to be seventy five and drink
and smoke and eat your guts away or live to
be ninety and eat like a rabbit?

Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
Well let's see you're hitting close to home here, but.

Speaker 20 (01:07:40):
Okay, yeah, do you want to enjoy yourself for you
and not want to enjoy it because the way I'm going,
I've got fifteen years left is what you're telling me.

Speaker 1 (01:07:47):
I've got the clock is ticking, I got fifteen and
go and counting. Is that what you're telling me?

Speaker 20 (01:07:51):
You ever think about that? By the way, how close
you are not till just now. I appreciate that. I
think about it all the time. Do you all the time?

Speaker 6 (01:07:58):
Oh?

Speaker 11 (01:07:58):
I could just keel over right here.

Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
Well, here's the thing we're back in. That could happen.

Speaker 11 (01:08:04):
Totally, that could happen.

Speaker 20 (01:08:05):
Rich is always getting mad at me. Stop saying that.
Stop saying you're gonna die on the air.

Speaker 1 (01:08:10):
Would he be sad? Do you think?

Speaker 11 (01:08:11):
Hell? No, get me how much money we'd save another
cap at.

Speaker 20 (01:08:16):
I heart, Let's get rid of furness and maller and
we get to go all right anyway? Yeah, no, good
win for those guys last night. Did you hear the
Did you hear the news about the l A Bowl?
It's the last one going away?

Speaker 1 (01:08:31):
You guys? Are you guys? You tell me he's killed
the l.

Speaker 20 (01:08:35):
All I just wonder, so, have you guys ever worked
in a restaurant when they closed down?

Speaker 11 (01:08:39):
Have you ever done that?

Speaker 1 (01:08:41):
Let me think I've worked I worked in a lot
of restaurants. We think, Okay, I've been restaurants I've worked
at no longer exists.

Speaker 11 (01:08:46):
But not you.

Speaker 20 (01:08:48):
You are working and they closed down while you're working there.
So when I when I was about sixteen, Yeah, I
worked at the Sea Galley in Bellevue off of four
oh five. I got hired and within a kid, you like,
thirteen days they closed down.

Speaker 11 (01:09:01):
It's like we're not wow.

Speaker 20 (01:09:03):
And so one of our jobs while we were on
payroll was to help them box everything up and get
rid of all this stuff and move it over to
a different Sea Galley location. And the manager's like, you
know what, you guys, just take whatever you want from
the bar. And I'm sixteen just literally started driving just
taking tequila, roum whiskey, whatever I could get my hands on.
And I wonder if it's gonna be like that on

(01:09:23):
Saturday night. Just take whatever you want, whatever you wind, surf,
goal posts, chairs, what press box tables, whatever, Just take
whatever you want.

Speaker 11 (01:09:35):
Really balls going away.

Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
I thought of when you said the Seaglly. When I
first got to KJR, I think you and I had
a conversation once on the air about the Sea Galley,
and I brought something up about I remember they had
their own wine. Remember they had their own brand. Oh yeah,
oh yeah absolutely, And some listeners like, oh yeah, I've
got a bunch of bottles. He sent me a bottle
of the sea gally one.

Speaker 11 (01:09:54):
Well, my greatest memory.

Speaker 1 (01:09:55):
I think it takes like vinegar now, but I still
haven't kept it because I'm.

Speaker 20 (01:09:58):
A horse driving driving home them through Woodridge Hill and
pulling over across the street from what is now Woodwards
Elementary and barfing my sixteen year.

Speaker 11 (01:10:06):
Old brains out.

Speaker 1 (01:10:07):
Just bad fish, bad fish.

Speaker 11 (01:10:10):
Whatever right took from the bar that day.

Speaker 20 (01:10:11):
Man shouldn't have been driving, you knuckle at you think
you think I think it was only about five blocks away.

Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
Oh my god, I would have gotten pulled over.

Speaker 20 (01:10:21):
It would have been a Tommy Boy experience. I'll tell
you that. I would how fast you're going?

Speaker 13 (01:10:26):
Four?

Speaker 20 (01:10:27):
You and sixteen were Tommy Boy. Probably I had so
many brushes with death Man. Looking back on it now.

Speaker 1 (01:10:34):
Yeah, I don't know if you're gonna see seventy five.
I'll be honest with you.

Speaker 20 (01:10:38):
I don't think I got twenty three more years ago.
I'll take the under all right, thank you? That's morbid.
When will Softy die and going over under for him?

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
I'm not commenting on that one.

Speaker 19 (01:10:51):
I'm no.

Speaker 1 (01:10:52):
I'm just thinking about how I've only got fifteen left
of this Ye.

Speaker 11 (01:10:55):
Remember Dave Nahouse once told me, you know what.

Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
I'm gonna die in the booth.

Speaker 1 (01:10:59):
It's like he didn't.

Speaker 20 (01:11:00):
But no, he in November, unfortunately there was no baseball
going on.

Speaker 11 (01:11:05):
What a treasure.

Speaker 20 (01:11:06):
You know where Dave NEOs went to college, by the way,
don't you? I don't Indiana?

Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
Oh wait, you mean the university that Mike Gasno built.

Speaker 11 (01:11:14):
That's correct.

Speaker 20 (01:11:16):
Wow, he's looking down on high and as Hoosiers in
the college football playoff. The collaboro goo there too, no
collabor to Butler.

Speaker 1 (01:11:24):
He went to Bow he's up from Indiana, but went
to he's a butler the famous field house there. So
all right, what do you got cout up today?

Speaker 13 (01:11:30):

Speaker 20 (01:11:30):

if he's the coach of the Cougars yet coming up
at three twenty. Mike Harbman is gonna be here at

at five point fifteen on kJ R.

Speaker 1 (01:11:43):

Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
We're not taking over any softy lass.

Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
I need to drink.

Speaker 11 (01:11:51):
I start getting in shape.

Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
I need to drink. No, you're not. I need to
drink though, and you're gonna have the same sea you

Speaker 8 (01:11:56):
For the mild mannered and marginally objectionably in for Naz,
